you turned over in bed, feeling the presence of the man lying next to you. inhaling gently you smelt his faint scent of cologne as you rolled over under the sheets.

one of his arms moved and looped around your waist, pulling you in gently as he grumbled something. carlos was never a morning person and you knew that, you also knew your brother would absolutely kill the both of you if he found out about your current position…or rather any position carlos had put you in.

when lando first introduced you to carlos as his sister, he made it very clear that there was no way carlos was allowed too close, let alone to date you or god forbid…fuck you.

and thats what made your current predicament even more amusing to you, laying in bed next to a very tired carlos sainz.

you both swore that it was strictly casual, and that you were just two people who had a strong attraction to eachother…you were friends so surely nothing would change right.

he said, quietly but you could hear the deep and slight croakiness to his voice, he always had it in the mornings.

you smiled, moving yourself slightly so you could face him instead of staring off the edge of the bed. his soft brown eyes met yours.

he leant in and gently placed a kiss on your lips, his lingering for a second too long after he pulled away but you werent in a position to correct him. he pushed his head back into the crook of your neck and laid there.

Qualifying. Arguably the most important part of a race weekend. Sure, the race itself was important since that's where the points come in, but if you don't have a good qualifying, then you don't have a good race. Quite simple, really. 

To be frank, you had wanted Carlos all day, but he wasn't letting you near him, you couldn't even touch him. "Carlos, you have hours until they need you," you whined, pouting at him. 

"I don't see your point," he huffed. You had been pestering him for the past two hours since you had been awake, and it was starting to get onto his nerves. "I need you," you said, sauntering up to him and running your hands across his chest. 

"Not right now, I need to focus," he dismissed you, walking off into the bathroom. If that was how he was going to be, then fine. He could have it his way. For now. 

The car ride to the circuit was the first part of your plan. "Are you in the garage or on the pit wall today?" he asked. You glanced at him, before turning away and training your eyes back on the road. "If this is what you're like when you don't get what you want, then you're going to have to get used to it," he scoffed, knowing he was going to be in for a day of it.

When you arrived, you walked through the paddock, smiling and waving at the fans and reporters. As soon as you got into the garage, you walked away from Carlos, not even looking at him. "I'll see you later!" he called after you, and you could see people giving the two of you skeptical looks. 

You made a beeline straight for the bathroom, taking off the jeans and shirt that you had on and replacing it with the shortest dress you could find out of your backpack. It barely covered your ass as you walked around.

You left the bathroom, strutting around like you owned the place. In the corner, you spotted Charles, doing something on his phone. You saw Carlos talking to his engineer, and his eyes swiftly flicked over to you.

"Hey, Charles," you smiled, leaning on the wall next to him and batting your eyelashes at him. "Hey, Y/N. How are you?" he asked, and you watched his eyes briefly skim over your figure. You bit your lip as you looked at him, spotting Carlos' jaw twitch out of the corner of your eye. 

As you talked to the man from Monaco, you twirled your hair around your finger and giggled at his jokes. His cheeks flushed red every time, and if you weren't with Carlos, he would be taking you back to his hotel tonight. 

"Charles, time to go," Xavi told him, and he looked sad to have to stop the conversation.

"Good luck, Charles. You'll do great, but you always do," you told him, watching as he walked away. "Thanks Y/N," he shouted as he left. 

You took your seat with your headphones over your ears. Carlos was sat in his car, already annoyed at you as it was. Now, seeing you sat in the chair with the tiny skirt of your dress riding over your thighs sent him into an angry spiral. 

He put his poor performance in FP3 was down to him being distracted by you. God knows who could have been looking at you while he wasn't around. God knows who could have been looking at what was his. 

He got out of the car, his team asking what was wrong to warrant a P11 in FP3. It wasn't bad, but not where he should have been. Especially since Charles had come out in P1. "I'll be one second, guys," Carlos said, storming over to where you were talking to Charles.

"Charles, do you mind if I have a minute with Y/N?" He asked, struggling to hide the fact that he was absolutely livid with you. "Yeah, course," he said, walking away. You touched Charles on the shoulder as a way to say goodbye, before turning your attention to Carlos. 

"What the hell are you wearing?" he spat a you, gripping your wrist tightly. 

"Why, you like what you see?" you smirked, knowing you had already gotten under his skin. 

"No, you're dressed like a stripper," he stated, his nails digging into your skin slightly. 

"Aw, is someone just mad because they came 11th and Charles came 1st?" you teased, putting on the baby voice that he hated.

"I was distracted by my girlfriend parading herself around like a slut," he reasoned, running his free hand through his hair. 

"Call me that again, I liked it," you told him, watching his face contort into an expression of pure lividness.  "Drop the attitude," he commanded, his tone strict and hard. You started to walk away from him as you rolled your eyes, but the grip he had on your wrist was too tight for you to break. 

"Did you just roll your eyes at me?" he asked.

"So what if I did?" you said, getting as close to him as possible so he had to look down on you. "Let's not make that a habit," he said as if you were a five-year-old, letting you go as the team started to go to the debrief before qualifying. 

"Behave," he instructed, "And put some clothes on," he finished. 

"Yes, sir," you rolled your eyes at him again, and if he wasn't in a garage full of people, he would have bent you over his car and fucked you until you begged him to stop. 

He figured the best way to actually perform well in qualifying was to put all of his anger towards you into his driving, and he could put it on the first row. That was exactly what he did. It was a Ferrari 1-2, but he missed out on pole to Charles by 2 thousandths of a second, so there was nothing else he could have done. 

When they got out of the car, they were met with the team clapping and smiling for them. As the pair got out of their cars, they were hugged by their mechanics and engineers, glad that they had finally gotten a good result after a while of misfortune. 

You walked up to Charles, throwing your arms around his neck and kissing him on the cheek. "Well done Charles! We knew you could do it," you squealed as he lifted you in the air and twirled you around. 

"Y/N, I need to talk to you in my drivers room," he shouted across the garage, and people could tell something was up. You did as you were told, swaying your hips as you walked. 

"What's up?" you asked, innocently. 

"What the fuck are you doing? Do you want people to think you're a slut?" he snapped, slamming the door to the room and blocking it off. "Well at least someone might fuck me because of it," you scoffed, rolling your eyes again for good measure.

"Did you not hear me? Or are you that fucking stupid that you don't know what's good for you? Roll your eyes again and I swear to god," he spat, rushing up to you and pinning you against the wall by your neck. 

His fingers gently squeezed as he spoke, the lack of oxygen flowing to your brain making you smile goofily. "If this is what you're like when you don't get what you want, then you're going to have to get used to it," you mocked, rolling your eyes in an over exaggerated manner.

"Get on the couch," he commanded, releasing his grip on you and pushing you towards the couch slightly. "Oh so you want me now that you're frustrated?" you queried, adoring how much you had agitated him. "Get on the fucking couch," he spat, and you thought it would be best to listen.

Stepping over to the couch, you sat down, the skirt riding over your thighs and revealing everything to Carlos. "Look at you, all pretty in pink," he smirked as the pink lace that was your last, thin barrier between you and the Spaniard. 

You were blushing, looking down at your feet. "Oh, so we're all shy now?" he mocked, keeling down in front of you. "There's no turning back now, bitch," he spat, and you had to admit his attitude was turning you on.

His fingers slithered up the side of your thighs, hooking into the sides of the flimsy material. He pulled them down your legs, slipping them over your heel clad feet and tossing them aside. Without a warning, he hoisted your legs onto either shoulder, gripping them with his hands. 

"So fucking pretty," he breathed against your thighs, placing soft kisses as his lips traveled. "It's a shame you're such a brat," he said. He started nipping the skin with his teeth, leaving a trail of red marks in their wake. 

Finally, you were getting your way, you thought. You had pushed him to the limit, and a day of gallivanting had finally paid off. Every time he lightly sunk his teeth into your skin, it was like a needle stabbing into you with a sharp prick. 

"Now I didn't know you were this desperate," he near on mocked, staring at the effect he had on you. Carlos leaned in, licking a thick stripe up your dripping folds. His tongue gently circled your sensitive bundle of nerve endings, the feeling sending volts of electricity pulsing through your body.

The sensation elicited a moan to escaped you lips, when Carlos pulled away. "For once, you need to keep that goddamn mouth of yours shut," he instructed, earning a nod from you. For once, you would actually do as you were told. 

Carlos attached his lips back onto you, lapping and sucking at all of the right places. Pressure bubbled in your stomach as you tangled your hands in Carlos' hair. Tugging at the strands, you earned a hum of pleasure from him as he brought you so close to release on his tongue. 

"Shit, Carlos, I'm close," you struggled to say, barely able to suppress the moans that had built up in your throat. At your words, he attached his lips around your clit and teased it with his tongue.  "Fuck, I-" you fumbled over your words, so close to release. 

Just as you were about to tip over the edge, Carlos pulled himself away from you, a devilish grin on his face. "You didn't really expect me to let you cum, did you?" he cockily grinned, pushing his dark locks of hair from his face.

You turned around and bent over, holding yourself up with your arms on the back of the couch. "Tell me, what do you want?" he asked, and you could tell he was getting a kick out of seeing you in this compromised position, knowing only he could give you what you wanted. "I want-" you started, but you were cut off by him teasing your entrance with his cock. 

"What do you want?" he pressed. 

"I want you to fuck me," you blurted out, turning over your shoulder to look at him, cocky grin plastered across his face. "God, such a needy slut," he breathed, slipping into you in one movement with ease. 

As he started to rock his hips back and forth, the coil in your abdomen started to tighten again, and it was already so close to snapping. "Who the fuck do you think you are? Sauntering around like that all day. Fucking brat," he spat through gritted teeth and a clenched jaw. 

"And flirting with Charles? I knew you were trying to make me mad, but that fucking pissed me off," he rambled, slamming into you harder each time. "You're an embarrassment, you know that? Trying to fuck my friend in front of the whole garage," he seethed, bringing his hand up and swatting your ass. 

You yelped, causing him to do it again until the skin started to sting and turn red. 

"Tell me you're sorry," he ordered, his hand gliding up your back and clasping around the back of your neck. 

"I'm-" you said, but were cut off by the overwhelming pleasure of him squeezing your neck as he picked up his pace. "Tell me you're sorry for being such a fucking slut," he said between thrusts. "I'm sorry," you managed to get out as he squeezed your throat harder.

If he could, he would have watched you squirm for him all day, but he had a job to do.

She stated with a cold look on her face, "George" hummed, and starts to wonder until he noticed a small creak from upstairs. He then goes up and open the door of a room where Sarah is hiding, she immediately follow up with the man.

Y/n: you are wondering here for too long now though

"George": I hear a creak in here, do you hear it too?

Y/n: seems quiet to me, please go now. My husband would never like a stranger here so please

"George" sighed and started to go downstairs.

"George": sorry for troubling you, I'll go now

Y/n nodded and follow the man then she closed the door. As soon as the man leaves, she flicks her fingers to uncast her spell to make her fox ears and tails free and ran up to see Sarah, she is glad that Sarah was okay until someone knock up on the door. With hesitation, she sniffs and noticed that it's the group, she immediately go downstairs and open up the door to see Luke, Alvin, Rebecca, Carlos, Clem, Nick, and Pete with a saw off leg.

Y/n: Oh my god...

Sarah: Dad!

Sarah hugged tightly her own father while Luke and Nick lay Pete down on the floor.

Y/n: hey old man, what happened?

Pete laughes hearing her sweet voice just for her to playfully insult him with a hint of worry.

Pete: got bit on the foot and needed to saw it off

Y/n: I could really see that you saw it off based on your cutting.

Pete is losing a lot of blood, Y/n quickly thinking what she can do until... She starts hurdle upstairs taking her bag and satchel with her, she got back at Pete and take some stuff out of her inventory. She pull a wooden tumbler, a water, a bead of metal, and some ornaments that seems edible. She start to crush the bead of metal and the ornaments then putting it together at the tumbler and starting to put some water on it, she mixed it firmly and boiled it with her fire element. And then, she put Pete's head to her tail then she made him drink whatever she made. Pete coughs and feel urge pain from the cutted leg and soon some metalish starting to replicate his previous flesh leg and foot. Everyone was shocked from the whole process she was doing and then Pete jolted up from the ground and looked at his cutted leg has now a metal type one.

Pete: the hell? Am I tripping?

Y/n: looks like my calculations was right, and you are not tripping

Pete: how the fuck happened this?!

Alvin: Y/n happened

Pete look at her with confused and curious look.

Y/n: well I... I started to make a "magic drink" for you to heal it up, or much say is replacing it. I could replace your foot as a human type one bit since you stated that your foot was bit, I don't have other choice but to make some alterations...

Pete: so you were saying was you make a science project at me?

Y/n: well you can imply on like that, thankfully your scientist isn't an insane one

Pete: damn, you know how to humor me

Y/n: but unfortunately...

Pete look with a worry look on his face when Y/n was about to say something bad.

Y/n: due to the alterations, since metal was been use to you instead your own flesh, your blood cells has now a hint of metal to you. Don't worry it's totally safe... Only to you.

Pete: what do you mean?

Y/n: it means you cannot make transfusion. You cannot let your blood been donated to someone else, or that person will slowly died due to a lot of iron

Pete: Damn...

Y/n: yep

Carlos: At least, you were able to make it in rush...

Y/n nodded at him, until Sarah spoke

Sarah: A man just came in here...

Carlos: What?!

Sarah: and Y/n spoke with him...

Rebecca: so you just open the door for him huh?

Y/n: no! I was about to lock the door but he just immediately barge in and look around

Sarah: she was telling the truth, dad...

Distress filled in the situation until Carlos broke the silence

Carlos: does he said his name?

Y/n: yeah... But I do feel he is lying

Rebecca: what do you mean "he's lying"?

Y/n: The way he said his name is just too "make up" based on the tone he is using to talk to me.

Luke: wow... You really are observant, foxy

Y/n blushed a little and trying to re-focus her attention to the current situation they were in.

Carlos: I do feel Y/n surprises him, however now he saw her... I'm sorry Y/n but you will be more better with us. William Carver is a very dangerous man, he is really smart too... Let's start packing up and head out.

Y/n nodded and everyone goes to their respective rooms. Luke and Y/n help each other to pack their things up and they hit the road.

The moon shines so bright, they all start walking, hoping for a stable camp in the nearest stops since Rebecca shouldn't be pressed on the pressure, 3 days later, they were able to find a temporary safe place to sleep in, soon after Little chit chats there and there has been made, while Y/n sat on the ground and shutting her eyes off and drifted to sleep. A little longer, her tails rustling on the ground-causing her shiny white fur pelt to have couple dirts until Luke tap her shoulder that causes her fox ears to twitch up. She notices that the others fallen asleep peacefully, leaving her and Luke the only one who was up.

Y/n: hey Luke, evening

Luke: evening foxy, don't you mind if I join you?

She yawns in a fox like and swipes herself on the side and tapping the vacant space beside her, signaling Luke that it is fine, Luke gradually taken the offer and sit beside with her. After a couple of minutes, Y/n broke of the silence.

Y/n: why are you still up this late, Luke?

Luke: well... just relocating the ski lodge on where we should be look at

Y/n: I see, hey at least the ski lodge is the best option we are betting, promise to aid you up just incase the field is messy

The small pun she made causes the Casanova to laugh softly that causes her to do the same as well. Soon after the laughter dies, leaving the two lost on the voids of their eyes, then Luke starts to lean in his forehead, resting it on her forehead which she softly accepted, enjoying every minute they have until... Luke starts to cup her face, making her exposed all her face feature on him that causes him to admire her.

Luke: You are a cute fox...

Y/n: you were the first said that to me, among men...

Luke now has the most shocked and gasped expression, he was about to ask but Y/n shush him.

Y/n: I know what is on your mind, Casanova. It's not, and it's just ... I'm not used to it, that's all.

She gave him a quick look and was about to get her face off from Luke until he..

...cupped her face and gave her the most sincere and passionate kiss, which Y/n with mo hesitation, she kissed him back. After a couple of minutes, he finally stopped kissing her lovely lips, staring each other's eyes, hand intertwined to one another. Finally, Luke spoke.

Luke: Y/n, ever since you got in to me and Pete's sight... I couldn't help but feel these. Y/n I honestly and Genuinely in love with you

He stated while giving his best puppy look, she chuckled softly and kiss the back of his palm.

Y/n: the feelings are mutual, farm boy

Luke smile, and just kissed her deeply. The two were now more careful for each other, they also eat together. Now... The fox on the hunt was now down and tamed.

✧ chapter 2 :: linger

｡˚ a/n: okay YES this took months to come out and i’m sorry 😭 i kept doing different routes with this chapter and i decided to continue some of it in the next cause it was getting way too fucking long. last chapter will be out hopefully within the next week or 2 i PROMISE !!

at first, barely audible, but now too painful to bear—the constant, high-pitched ringing snapped you out of your peaceful sleep. you managed to open up your eyes despite the blinding light coming down onto them, and you realized that you were waking up from a dream just to go back into a nightmare. you wanted to shut your eyes again. you wanted to go back to sleep. but that ringing in your ears and the throbbing of your head didn’t allow you. you took one last long blink before completely opening up your eyes again. your back ached, and you realized that you were laying down on an uncomfortable bench. you groaned loudly as you sat up, placing a hand on your head as you did so due to the pain.

jill turned around to face you in the midst of you coming to. she let out a relieved sigh as she walked over. “finally you’re awake, thank god…” she said, sitting down next to you.

you turned your head to look at her. “more like unfortunately,” you groaned. “what happened?”

she leaned back against the wall. “mikhail blew up the train because of that fucker…” she said. “and that was after nicholai tried to kill us.” you let out an “oh” as you started to remember the events.

“jesus,” you exclaimed, looking down at the ground. “so everybody died but us?” jill nodded her head, almost hesitantly, and you muttered a “fuck” in reply. you slowly stood up from the bench and limped over to the table in the room. you flipped over the big piece of paper that had been sketched on and grabbed the pencil that was right next to it. jill came up next to you and placed a hand on your shoulder.

“what’re you doing?” she asked.

you started sketching on the piece of paper. “i’m coming up with a plan,” you said. “that tyrant after you? umbrella created multiple versions, but only some succeeded.” your sketches turned into a map with various writings everywhere.

“from what i know, your best shot at killing the tyrant is to somehow destroy its heart. its second form would be your best bet,” you said, glancing at her.

she raised an eyebrow. “what? what do you mean by the second form?” jill asked. her voice sounded a bit shaky.

“i meant what i said, there’s nothing more to it,” you replied. “it’ll be faster, stronger, but also more vulnerable.”

“good to know.”

jill sighed and moved away to lean against the wall. you could tell she was on the verge of defeat, but you needed her, and she needed you. you set the pencil down after sketching for a few more minutes and then handed her your makeshift map.

“that’s nest two,” you said. “it’s underneath the spencer memorial hospital. half of my work is there, and so is a vaccine.”

her eyes widened as she turned to look at you. “and you’re telling me this now?” she asked. “that means we can save the city.”

“but it’s difficult to get there, especially with that thing after you constantly,” you said. “unimaginable creatures are in that lab, lurking...”

“nothing i can’t handle,” said jill, folding up the map and shoving it in her back pocket. “let’s get going.”

hurriedly, the two of you stepped out into the corridor and shot down every zombie that was in your way. you walked up a flight of stairs, and at the left end side of the room was a ladder up to the surface. jill headed up first, and you followed soon after. the scream of the tyrant could be heard close by, which only made you shiver in fear.

“that fucker’s still alive. we can’t stay here,” she muttered. you agreed with her, and the both of you continued walking. the clock tower was at the other end of the river, so you two walked up a flight of stairs and onto the bridge. it was so silent, so the sound of a fence breaking and heavy footsteps running caught your attention.

you and jill ran up to the railing, and you watched almost in awe as the tyrant that was hunting down jill fell into the water while lit on fire. she, on the other hand, finally seemed relieved when it didn’t pop up out of the water. “bitch can’t even swim…” she muttered.

she turned around and continued walking, but you didn’t move. it couldn’t have been that easy to defeat such a persistent tyrant. jill noticed that you weren’t next to her, so she turned around to see where you were. she walked up to you, watching how the muscles in your face were contorting.

“what’s wrong?” she asked. you looked at her, then back at the water.

“how can a tyrant be defeated so easily?” you asked. “it doesn’t make sense, jill…”

“no, it doesn’t. but as long as it stops coming after my ass, i don’t care how it’s been stopped.” she ushered for you to follow her, but neither of you moved. your eyes just stayed fixated on the surface of the water as it started to bubble. it was as if something was about to break through the surface.

it suddenly stopped, but you knew it didn’t go away. you grabbed jill’s hand and took a step away from the railing. “we were wrong.” you whispered.

you yanked her away and started running toward the other end of the bridge. that’s when the tyrant jumped out of the water and landed right in front of you. due to the sheer amount of force it gave out when it landed, you both fell.

“so this is the second form you were talking about?!” she yelled, scooting backward away from it. you nodded; too shaken to even reply.

it started running towards you and jill, but the two of you quickly rolled out of the way. you started running towards the stairs while it ran close to you, but jill stopped to push down a bunch of scrap metal onto its head to slow it down. instead of going down the stairs, you managed to gather up enough courage to jump over the railing and drop on top of a bus. jill followed suit and grabbed your hand to help you jump down onto the ground with her. the entrance to the clock tower was right there.

jill ran inside first and pressed the button to close the gates. you ran inside just in time, and when you turned around, she wasn’t there anymore. instead, jill was on the other side. once the gate shut, you grabbed onto the bars and narrowed your eyes at her. “jill?! what the fuck are you doing?!”

“it’s me this fucker is after,” she said, taking out her radio. “might as well take your advice…”

she passed her radio to you. “the gate will open again, so don’t worry about it. i’ll meet up with you and carlos at the hospital.”

she turned around to face the tyrant, and you could only watch as she started to fight it once again. you knew there was nothing that you could do, so you turned around and ran out of there. you needed to go find carlos. once you left the immediate area, you took out jill’s radio and turned it on. you got no idea how to work one, so you just held a button and prayed that carlos would answer.

“carlos? you there?” you asked. it was silent on the other end for a couple of seconds. you felt like you were going to throw up because you were so anxious. please pick up.

that’s when static came through. “y/n?”

you smiled as you clutched the radio. “thank god! i’m so glad you answered!” you ran over towards an alleyway and hid behind one of the dumpsters to not attract attention.

“what’re you still doing in the city? i thought the train left,” he said worriedly.

“it did, but…”

you sat there for the next two minutes explaining to him what had happened. how nicholai left you and jill to die. how mikhail killed himself just to save you two. and how jill was now fighting the damn tyrant herself. you cried the whole time. carlos tried comforting you over the radio, but you blatantly told him that it wasn’t working. you needed to see him, so he told you that he was in the raccoon city police department, but told you to wait for him right where you were at. you told him “no” and said that you’ll meet him there.

the building was once a museum, a pretty big one too; you could find it easily. and just like hours before, you silently made your way through the city. you didn’t want to get caught, especially since you got were bitten. you didn’t think much about your hand, but without anything to distract you, or anybody to talk to, you suddenly felt the pain. you bit your cheeks to not make a single noise as you held your left hand. the pain was something you could not describe at all even if you tried.

when you finally saw the police station, you felt a sense of ease wash over you. you never thought that you would be so happy to be at a police station, let alone the one in raccoon city. the side entrance to the building seemed broken into, but before you could use that route, carlos came running around the corner.

“y/n!” he almost yelled. he sounded shocked because of how fast you got here. he ran right up to you and hugged you. you quickly hugged back in surprise.

“you’re okay…” he said, pulling away. “i got worried after you hung up.”

“i appreciate the concern, but the only person you should be worrying about is jill,” you said frantically, grabbing his hand. “she’s at the clock tower. i’m not the best at fighting a tyrant, so you two meet me at the spencer memorial hospital.”

“why there?”

“i can create a vaccine to help save the city. the sooner we get there, the better.”

“then we kill two birds with one stone.”

you raised an eyebrow. “what the hell is that supposed to mean?”

“we’re looking for a man named dr. bard. he said he was at the hospital, so while you create the vaccine, i can get him,” said carlos.

“oh, that asshole…” you rolled your eyes.

carlos moved his hand out of your grasp and pressed it onto the small of your back. “tyrell should be coming right after you then. so please stay safe until then.”

you nodded your head. “always, carlos.”

he leaned his head down towards yours and gave you a quick but soft kiss on the lips. after you pulled away you let out a small sigh.

“let’s talk once you two come back,” you said. “i think me trying to push it away isn’t working…”

“agreed,” carlos laughed.

you said your quick goodbyes and headed in opposite directions. finally, you were going to the hospital.

carlos had radioed you only a few minutes ago, explaining how jill got infected after defeating the tyrant. you told him that once the two got back a room would be prepared for her. you made sure to get all the right equipment and comfort once they would arrive.

the moment you started working on the iv fluids was the moment carlos busted in with jill in his arms. you almost had a panic attack with how hard he opened those doors, but you told him to lay her down on the bed quickly. as he went to do that, you went ahead and grabbed a pair of latex gloves. you didn’t need more germs getting inside of her at this point.

you cleaned the area on her arm before checking for veins. once one finally managed to pop up, you carefully slid the needle in and secured it with a bandaid. there was no medical tape, so this was the best next thing to do. you made sure the fluids started going before finally leaving her be.

carlos let out a long-awaited sigh before sitting down on a chair nearby her. you threw away the pair of gloves and turned around to face him. “i didn’t have time to search the hospital,” you said, leaning against the counter while crossing your arms.

“it’s fine,” he sighed. “i need to find bard in here somewhere, so i’ll scavenge for other materials if you need me to.”

you stayed silent for a second before pushing yourself away from the counter and walking towards him. you grabbed the lanyard hanging from your neck and passed it to him. “my id opens up every door in this place.”

he grabbed it from you and thanked you. “but what if it doesn’t work?” carlos asked.

“if it doesn’t work, then there’s no way in hell we’ll survive the lab…”

your gaze lingered on him before you slowly turned around and walked away. you started washing your hands in the sink right as you heard carlos stand up and start readying his gear. you felt your heartbeat racing just a bit faster—you needed to tell him now. right as he walked over to the door, you cleared your throat.

“it’s you,” you said, shutting the tap. “you are the reason why i’m in this situation.”

carlos’ hand was on the door, but the sound of your sad voice and truthful words made it slip back down to his side. he turned around to see you, but you kept your back to him.

“what do you mean?” he asked.

“you wanted the truth back at the train station, so i’m telling it to you,” you said, finally turning around. “umbrella forced me to work with them because they threatened to kill you. so i did what i had to do.”

you made your way to him. “i wasn’t allowed to communicate with the outside world. i was stuck in a lab for months, baby… i suffered, but i did it because i love you.”

you grabbed his hands and looked straight into his eyes.

“jesus, y/n…” he muttered. “you could’ve told me.”

you shook your head. “it was better if you didn’t know.”

carlos opened his mouth to say something, but the sound of jill’s painful moans caught your attention. you hurried over to her to try and find the source of the pain, leaving carlos to stand there awkwardly on his own. your eyebrows furrowed in concern as you watched her skin become whiter and the area around her eyes become darker.

“she doesn’t have much time,” you said, walking back up to him. “you must go and find that vaccine… now!”

“on it!” carlos quickly ran out of the room to search the hospital. you were now alone with jill. the first thing you did was try and lessen her pain with some painkillers that you forced her to swallow. and once she was stable enough, you brought a chair over to her and sat down on it.

the bandage that covered your bite mark had become dirty. you needed to change it. you carefully removed it, wincing at the pain it gave when you did so. finally, you could see your hand. you expected to see some blood or pus or something, which there was, but your hand was turning black. you didn’t feel any panic or anxiety though. just intrigued at how you weren’t turning yet. you stood up and headed over to stand under the light to examine what was going on.

the blackness was ever so slowly spreading to your wrist, but it was at such a slow rate it seemed like it would take days to even get to that point. you only washed your hands before wrapping the bite up again with a new bandage. you don’t know why you weren’t doing anything about it. all you thought about was if you were immune or not, and that this needed to be kept secret.

nobody needed to know of this.
