imma be real: the main thing I'm "meh" about w the bl formula is there *always* has to be a secondary pairing like ALWAYS
and it works out the rare times I'm more invested in that one (given), but like. I'm a kinda simple shipper
I only rlly care about one pairing so the other scenes end up being such a slog
(Btw I like exploring interactions outside the ship, but romance wise, i rlly dgaf)
#dick moves with d#I've been this way since my young bl manga days#just like WHY#and then sometimes there a TERTIARY PAIRING??????#like I cannot emphasize how little I care at that point I am actually almost hostile to it

Okay, Time for that belated Shrinking Rae post-
In the comics, Shrinking Ray's "arc" (bearing in mind an extremely liberal definition of that term, they had exactly one scene showcasing this) was that he was implied to be developing an inferiority complex; he's not necessarily incompetent, but he's out of his niche, his clever shrinking-based plans kept getting upstaged by brute-force solutions from the more conventionally powerful heroes like Invincible. He's the scrawny, nerdy little guy with the joke powers, he never gets a win, and in most fights he literally isn't visible. In the fight with the Lizard League his death is framed as pathetic and ineffectual- there's one or two panels between "I'll make you pay!" and getting eaten alive by Komodo. All of this is doing a couple of things- it's emphasizing that again, this is in fact a story and setting where superheroes sometimes just die really badly with limited fanfare- a thing that IIRC hadn't happened since the original Guardians team wipe in issue 7. Second, it's an indicator that the new Guardians are structurally kind of on the ropes. They're heavily staffed by second stringers, they exact second they have to split their forces they suffer a 66 percent casualty rate, and that's with backing from two capes who aren't actually part of the team. Grim! Anyway, when they do the adaptation Shrinking Ray becomes Shrinking Rae, because they want to tweak the gender balance of the cast and the pun is too good to pass up. But I think that there was a reasonable reluctance to transfer the "arc" from the comics one-to-one, because to be blunt, "Ineffectual Nebbish Glasses-wearer who whines a lot and dies pathetically," paired with absolutely nothing else, is gonna read as misogynistic if the character is a woman now. So in the adaptation Rae is markedly more competent. We're introduced to her taking down a much larger opponent by fucking around inside his ear canal, which becomes a favored trick of hers. There are traces of the self-esteem thing- the visual gag where she physically shrinks about a foot when getting chewed out in the briefing- but the overall throughline isn't "look at this loser who somehow ended up on the guardians." In the Lizard League fight, she doesn't get eaten- she's deliberately trying to execute a Thanus maneuver and just fucks it up, seconds after successfully killing a different villain the same way. And there's a second where it looks like it might work, too, before hope is cruelly yanked away. Which makes for a markedly cooler death scene- but who died? What was actually going on with her? Anything? In some sense she's cooler, but it's kind of an undifferentiated cool. She had what, Six lines? Seven? On balance I think Rae is still doing her fundamental job in the story, which is to pad the Guardians roster for a while and have someone who actually dies and stays dead as a result of the Lizard League fight- but I think they definitely missed an opportunity to give her some more texture than her comic counterpart had. Part of me thinks that the show would have been a good place to go even harder on Shrinking Rae being in over her head, but in a considered way, to emphasize that the Guardians aren't well managed- maybe tie it into the tensions between Robot and Immortal regarding sustainable team management practices. Part of me thinks you should go the other way, that if you're gonna do away with the idea she's underwhelming you should blow up her role, have her actually say and do some things that affect the story or the team dynamic in any noticeable way, because as it stands she's kind of visibly siloed as the designated mauve shirt. I'm definitely of one mind that this showcases something I suspected was gonna bite the show in the ass, which is that they're (laudably) diversifying a secondary and tertiary cast whose main role in the source material is often to die badly or fade out of focus.

Writing Notes: Elements of Art
The elements of art are components or parts of a work of art that can be isolated and defined. They are the building blocks used to create a work of art.
LINE A mark with greater length than width. Lines can be horizontal, vertical, or diagonal; straight or curved; thick or thin.
Horizontal lines suggest a feeling of rest or repose because objects parallel to the earth are at rest. In landscape paintings, horizontal lines help give a sense of space. The lines delineate sections of the landscape, which recede into space. They also imply continuation of the landscape beyond the picture plane to the left and right.
Vertical lines often communicate a sense of height because they are perpendicular to the earth, extending upwards toward the sky. In a church interior painting, vertical lines may suggest spirituality, rising beyond human reach toward the heavens.
Horizontal and vertical lines used in combination communicate stability and solidity. Rectilinear forms with 90-degree angles are structurally stable. This stability suggests permanence and reliability.
Diagonal lines convey a feeling of movement. Objects in a diagonal position are unstable. Because they are neither vertical nor horizontal, they are either about to fall or are already in motion. The angles of a ship and rocks on the shore convey a feeling of movement or speed in a stormy harbor scene.
The curve of a line can convey energy. Soft, shallow curves recall the curves of the human body and often have a pleasing, sensual quality and a softening effect on the composition. The edge of a pool in a photograph may gently lead the eye to the sculptures on the horizon.
SHAPE A closed line. Shapes can be geometric, like squares and circles; or organic, like free-form or natural shapes. Shapes are flat and can express length and width.
FORM A three-dimensional shape expressing length, width, and depth. It is the basis of sculpture, furniture, and decorative arts. Balls, cylinders, boxes, and pyramids are forms. They can be seen from more than one side.
Geometric shapes and forms include mathematical, named shapes such as squares, rectangles, circles, cubes, spheres, and cones. Geometric shapes and forms are often man-made. However, many natural forms also have geometric shapes. Example, a cabinet decorated with designs of geometric shapes.
Organic shapes and forms are typically irregular or asymmetrical. Organic shapes are often found in nature, but man-made shapes can also imitate organic forms. Example, a wreath uses organic forms to simulate leaves and berries.
SPACE The area between and around objects. The space around objects is often called negative space; negative space has shape. Space can also refer to the feeling of depth.
Real space is three-dimensional; in visual art, when we create the feeling or illusion of depth, we call it space.
COLOR Light reflected off of objects. Color has 3 main characteristics:
Hue - the name of the color, such as red, green, blue, etc.
Value - how light or dark it is.
Intensity - how bright or dull it is.
White is pure light; black is the absence of light.
Primary colors are the only true colors (red, blue, and yellow). All other colors are mixes of primary colors.
Secondary colors are two primary colors mixed together (green, orange, violet).
Intermediate colors, sometimes called tertiary colors, are made by mixing a primary and secondary color together. Some examples of intermediate colors are yellow green, blue green, and blue violet.
Complementary colors are located directly across from each other on the color wheel (an arrangement of colors along a circular diagram to show how they are related to one another).
Complementary pairs contrast because they share no common colors. For example, red and green are complements, because green is made of blue and yellow.
When complementary colors are mixed together, they neutralize each other to make brown.
TEXTURE The surface quality that can be seen and felt. Textures can be rough or smooth, soft or hard. Textures do not always feel the way they look; for example, a drawing of a porcupine may look prickly, but if you touch the drawing, the paper is still smooth.
Texture depicted in two-dimensions. Artists use color, line, and shading to imply textures. In a painting, a man's robe may be painted to simulate silk. The ability to convincingly portray fabric of different types was one of the marks of a great painter during the 17th century.
Surface texture. The surface of a writing desk is metallic and hard. The hard surface is functional for an object that would have been used for writing. The smooth surface of a writing desk reflects light, adding sparkle to the piece of furniture.

Which character do you think is the most egregiously mischaracterized by the fandom?
I'm gonna pick someone other than the usual subjects that get pointed at for this: I think a lot of Swerve stuff in fanworks is really determined not to engage with his arc as it actually exists on the page, but with a kind of idealized version of it they can project onto uncomplicatedly. A lot of Swerve's arc is, yes, coming to terms with his issues and loneliness and awkwardness and isolation, but large parts of that include things like 'which, at times, has made him mean spirited and even callous' (seriously, The Ten Thing), for example. I feel like I rarely see that element to his character and growth acknowledged, the uglier side of its impact on him which means sometimes he is a mildly bitter dick and has to grow beyond that. Also, like. The whole point of the Blurr thing and the TV thing and so on being that this is all a fundamentally negative over-reliance on something insincere and unsustainable in lieu of making actual connections. (The Blurr thing isn't cute! It's very sad! It's not about being a fun fanboy guy, it's about him not having a healthy way to deal with struggling to make actual social connections!)
What is a popular ship you just can't get behind, and why?
I have never had the slightest investment in Brainstorm/Percy. Sorry folks. I genuinely often forget this ship even exists until I see fanart or something. Perceptor is a very tertiary character in the grand scheme of things, and it just has a feel of 'pair the spares' that bores me, tbh. Brainstorm is too emotionally dense a character for me to be interested in pairing him up with 'the guy there's a running joke he wants to impress'. I like that gag, it's fun and funny and has a nice little payoff. Doesn't mean I need more than that though tbh. (I'm just... so much more invested in Brainstorm than Perceptor.)

Listen, sometimes if your life with your birth family is bad, you need to just fall in love with someone 1000 miles away, marry them weekly, turn into a butch cockatoo, move north to join them, and then through that move meet a pair of sisters who are both massage therapists and thespians that play DND who just fuckin adopt you on the spot. And then five years later you're building dragon puppets for the older sister's show that the younger sister is tertiary supporting actress for, and you're frustrated because nothing is going right and you've scrapped all the dragons' eyeballs and you can't find your angle grinder wrench, and the sisters yell "do YOU WANT A KANZ SANDWICH" and envelope you in a group hug. And then your spouse shows up towards the end of rehearsal, right as you've just burned yourself with a glue gun, with your doggies and everyone loves your doggies and you get to hug your youngest and biggest sonboy and then they go sit in the audience and the sonboy barks every time people yell in anguish to represent dragon roars as your puppets are slain one by one. And then finally you do some last minute angle grinding inside a dragon, which is very cool looking in spite of your lack of safety glasses or closed toed shoes, and you ask one last time if the directors are really okay with you going on break for a week for an SCA camping trip, and they say yes, and you jet out of there and come home to the spouse and the pack and the clowder and remember finally that you are loved.
And you know life is good.
(Tiamat pupil shapes. Idk why I'm doing this level of detail but it's fun),
#she kills monsters#community theater#things were going too well#something had to give#luckily i have an evidence based plan to remake the eyes

I’d love to enjoyed Wandee Goodday fully but I’m disappointed with ignored topics such as Kao’s asexuality - we didn’t get really to see him talking about his crushes, his love life or going on dates and Wandee’s support, father situation - they forgave him too soon and wasn’t it too perfect? You change like that immediately? Without proper talk or time? Ter wasn’t even punished properly, why didn’t they report sexual assault? And putting goofy funny music when Dee was kissed without his permission? Big no from me…
No show is perfect. Ever. Especially when GMMTV is involved. Honestly, this has been a good show for GMMTV, no denials.
It's not perfect.
Kao was a minor character, meant to be Dee's friend and to provide a bit of support and comedy and contrast. His asexuality that made him a fan favorite was not meant to be a big part of the show. Look, I am the first person who wanted him to have a boyfriend but it was very obvious in the show that there was not going to be a tertiary pairing. (Now, to be clear, I wonder if some of that is possibly due to GMMTV's very strong pair branding aesthetic right now and if that's preventing actors from getting pairings that won't lead anywhere for the company but boy howdy do I know nothing about that please don't send me asks about it.)
Yak and Yei's father needed more time. I can see what they were going for but that needed to be a multi-episode arc and we could have skipped over a lot of Ter stuff for it, especially since the show doesn't seem to be focusing on that outside of a lot of those moments and parts were unneeded. It would have been good to see the father return several episodes ago and to get a better feel for his relationship with both his sons, with Cher, with the gym, everything... instead of just one night together. Which didn't add a lot and gave us no room to see the change or to believe that he means anything of what he says.
As for Ter, this is an ongoing issue in BL and just generally, where a man being assaulted is downplayed compared to a woman. Like... it's just a whole thing. Let's be honest here, if Ter was in a MAME romance people would be cheering for him. So... let's not pretend the show isn't just playing into what people have enjoyed in other places. It wasn't well done and it's not right but it is, sadly, common. Other shows are making jokes about being boyfriends automatically meaning consent and laughing about 'no means no but only when I say it, not when you do, hahaha' so... it's just really common and it's frustrating but it's going to be there.
See, you didn't touch on my biggest issue which is that, apparently, Cher is unbothered by Yei lying to him. Like... not even a little? Nothing? No conversation? Not a single word? Nothing? Cher was so desperately trying to get Yei to talk to him and he finds out that not only did Yei lie to him but lost their home and we get... just loving support? Wonderful, so sweet, but nothing? He deserved to at least whack him on the head.
And having Dee literally watch a single video of his parents loving him as an infant and deciding that meant they loved him forever and his trauma was over? Rough. I was hoping it would be something, like, his parents collecting things he had made for them or writing him letters as they traveled or just... anything. But a video of them loving an infant and then, apparently, never interacting with him again? Ever?! Really!?
Look, I love this show deeply. It's a good show. It's fun and it's romcom and I like how the relationship grew and how the characters fell in love and all of that... but it's not perfect. Nothing is perfect. And there's nothing wrong with talking about that. And sometimes the imperfections you notice are the ones that matter to you because you care about the show otherwise and wish it was better.

Anyway this isn't like an Official Literary Thing but I've talked with my old English profs about it / have been using it for fanon ATLA meta since like 2018 and thus thought it might be useful for others for meta / conceptualization purposes
Going to be using both ATLA and TDP as examples to help out, but let's dig into the concept of
primary, secondary, & tertiary foils
For example, the primary foils in both ATLA and TDP are Zuko-Aang and Viren-Callum, respectively. This is backed up by framing, plot arcs, what episodes and sometimes entire seasons are built around, etc. Zuko and Aang are both visually marked (scar, arrow) boys living in exile and unable to return home / to what they once knew, they are the main way the series explores concepts of destiny ("is it your own destiny or is it a destiny someone else has tried to force on you?" applies to Zuko as Aang's enemy and to Aang as a violent Avatar) and a plethora of other things, interacting in approximately 13/61 episodes in the series but having their bond/dynamic reinforced in many other episodes than that ("Bitter Work" and "The Storm" in particular).
Viren and Callum are very similar, being another antagonist-turned atonement arc and protagonist pair. S2 follows them operating in parallel (2x01 shutting a door in their face with magic/politics, engaging in dangerous behaviour in pursuit of magic but backing off in 2x04, reneging that choice and following through in 2x07, being faced with mirrors in 2x08, and getting magical upgrades in 2x09, even if Viren does so by embracing dark magic/Aaravos and being subsequently chained down, further while Callum has rejected it and unlocks the Sky arcanum, being subsequently freed). Season four and season five have merely cranked it up further by framing/paralleling S4 and S5 Callum further to Arc 1 Viren in framing, fears, and choices, as well as framing him in opposition to S4 and S5 Viren, allowing them to switch places, as Viren swears off all dark magic just as Callum opens that door back open within an episode of each other in S5.
However, these are hardly each other's only foil relationships, even if they are the most prevalent. This is where secondary and tertiary foils can come in handy.
For example, Soren has parallels to both Callum and Rayla. In arc 1, he and Rayla switch roles from a sworn protector turned killer turned back again, and a sworn killer sworn fervent protector, respectively. Soren and Callum are both greatly depleted in 2x07 thanks to following Viren's path (for Soren, it's escalating violence in a situation he can't win, and for Callum, it's dark magic) causing them to have big moments of reflection in 2x08. They are also both the older brothers who escape their fathers' mantles of dark mage and king, leaving those burdens uniquely on their younger siblings' shoulders of Claudia and Ezran. And Ezran is a parallel to Rayla of someone who is good hearted enough it gets them into trouble as well as their duties/devotion to world ("I have to go back home" + "I have to go after him" / "I feel like I'm letting everyone down" "I failed them, I let them all down" / "It's not fair you have to go through this alone" "I knew I had to be strong alone"). And of course, Callum and Rayla are big foils for each other as well, switching largely in the same manner that Viren and Callum do.
This is similar to how Aang also parallels Katara (cultural endurance, anger, and mercy) and Azula (elevated prodigy who creates resentment, freed and defeated by Katara from an icy confine) in ATLA, Toph parallels both Mai and Yue (who likewise parallel each other, all rich girls forced into a manner of repression due to their status and families, with various stages of breaking free & self sacrifice), and how Zuko parallels Katara (compassionate, sometimes hot headed, had to struggle more for their bending abilities) and Sokka (older brother to more 'talented' younger sister, missing mother and wanting to prove themselves to their fathers).
Typically when looking at plot and character arcs, primary foils are better indicators of how a character may swap with another or where they may end up, for ex: Azula and Katara are primary foils and this sets up both the Book 2 and Book 3 finales. In Book 2, Zuko chooses/helps Azula defeat Katara (and Aang), and Azula kills Aang; Katara, as her foil, is the one who saves him. Then, in Book 3, Zuko chooses/helps Katara defeat Azula, and then is also saved by her. Tertiary and secondary foils tend to be more complementary / help buff up theme for shorter episode arcs than series spanning stuff.
We see this again in S3 and S5 Callum and Viren, where S3 ends with Viren at his literal lowest and Callum at his literal highest, whereas in S5, they have the aforementioned dark magic trade off. You can also see this in smaller ways with characters like Rayla and Claudia (who I'd probably say are secondary for each other, but you really could make an argument for primary) switch in 4x09 and 5x09, with Claudia restoring Rayla's family to her whereas Rayla's defeat of Claudia is, in the mage's mind, why she ultimately loses her father / Claudia prioritizing her family over everything, whereas Rayla puts in the world first in S5.
Anyway it's fun and useful - who do you think certain characters primary, secondary, or tertiary foils are? Why would you categorize each one in each way, are there multiple of each? Etc, etc. It can also be very good for book planning with a large cast ;)

INFPs + Enneagram Combination Breakdown
Disclaimer: The descriptions of each type aren’t necessarily how every INFP with these enneagrams are going to act. I am merely describing how common traits of each enneagram type may overlap with traits of INFP characters.
Most Common Enneagrams
Type 4
Type 4 seems to be the most common enneagram when it comes to statistics, with type 9’s coming in a close, close second.
It makes sense, too. Type 4’s tend to be introverted, invested in the idea of separating themselves from others. With INFPs in particular, their Fi may influence the desire, especially if their morals go against the status-quo.
An example of a type 4 INFP is Belle from Beauty and the Beast.
Type 9
Type 9 INFPs are also extremely popular in general.
Because of their Fi, INFPs in general tend to be more sensitive, and therefore less likely to want to get involved in conflict. Because of this, many INFPs will be type 9s, and will do anything to avoid conflict, by distancing themselves both physically and emotionally from others, or just not getting involved in general.
Two examples of INFP type 9s is Lucy Pevensie from the Chronicles of Narnia and Ponyboy Curtis from the Outsiders.
Other Common Enneagrams
Type 6
Another common enneagram for INFP is type 6.
An INFP’s Fi could work pretty well with a type 6’s personality traits, as type 6s are generally loyal, honest and reliable. However, a type 6’s mistrust of the world, can cause an INFP to be sensitive to change or to be inside their own head, a lot more. Their ideas and imagination can serve as a sense of comfort in a constantly changing world, as their own mind is the only thing that can be controlled.
An example of a type 6 INFP is Eponine from Les Miserables.
Other Possible Enneagrams
Type 5
I really didn’t know where to put type 5, because a lot of data will say that it’s rare, and a lot will say that it’s very common.
To an extent, it makes sense, especially when paired with type 4 as a wing. An INFP type 5 may not be as detached from their feelings as other type 5s, but they can also be very curious, theorizing the world around themselves and understanding the world enough to give themselves a sense of authenticity.
An example of a type 5 INFP is maybe Merlin from BBC’s Merlin.
Type 2
Type 2 INFPs aren’t incredibly common, but not incredibly rare. Type 2s are often described as the helpers of the enneagram of the enneagram world, putting most of their energy into helping the community.
INFPs, while not particularly extroverted, are Fi doms first and foremost, and their values can help provide alot of their need to help others, especially if they care about others
An example of a type 2 INFP is Cinderella from Cinderella.
Unlikely Enneagrams
(There’s a lot of unlikely enneagrams because the majority of INFPs tend to be type 4 or 9).
Type 7
Type 7’s are spontaneous, adventurous and optimistic, which can definitely fit an INFP person. Though an INFP has tertiary Si, so depending on how well developed their functions are, the might not be as reckless as an Ne or Se dom, but still it allows for more spontaneous decisions.
They may become extremely critical with the things they value, and a bit more confrontational than other INFP types, but it’s still very much possible.
Type 8
INFPs, in a general sense, don’t tend to be particularly aggressive or assertive in most situations, because of their Fi, not really making type 8 a popular fit for either one.
However, an INFP may become assertive in the name of their values, making them a perfect contender for type 8. In fact, some type 9 INFPs have 8 for a wing.
Type 3
As an Fi dom, INFPs don’t often fit into the mold of a type 3 either, who is focused on their ambitions, and sometimes, tend to comply to reach them.
However, an INFP can also be a type 3, but usually they will choose goals that fit their morals or they will adjust their goals once their plans don’t fit their morals.
Type 1
INFPs, as Fi-Ne users might focus alot on their own morals and a sense of right or wrong, but more so from a purely moralistic sense. Most type one’s can be extremely perfectionistic, and while an INFP can be perfectionistic, their morals and ideal come first.

Art Tip #1 - Color Theory: A Crash Course
Art isn't complete without colors, right? Unless you'd consider a blank white sheet of paper as art, then by all means...
In today's first stop at the Art Terminal, we will be learning how to use colors using Color Theory! Being knowledgeable about basic color theory can really help you develop your skills as an artist no matter what medium you'll be using - be it traditional art, digital art, or even a mix of both! It may seem confusing at first but with this guide, you'll be making well-coordinated compositions with flying colors in no time!
PART 1: How to use the Color Wheel
This infamous wheel by Isaac Newton helps you see the relationships between the colors.
Keep in mind these 3 categories:
⓵ Primary Colors: Red┃Blue┃Yellow These are the first three basic colors - all other colors can be created by mixing them in different ways. Tip: mixing all three creates the color brown! ⓶ Secondary Colors: Purple (red+blue)┃Green (blue+yellow)┃Orange (yellow+red) If you've noticed, these colors are created by mixing our primary colors. ⓷ Tertiary Colors: Red-Orange┃Red-Purple┃Blue-Purple┃Blue-Green┃Yellow-Green┃Yellow-Orange As you might have guessed, we get these colors by mixing our primary and secondary colors.
Part 2: What are the Color Properties?
Keep in mind Color has 3 primary properties:
⓵ Hue: the colors in their purest state - or in other words, a color's name.
⓶ Saturation: the brightness or dullness of a color - the intensity or purity of a hue. Tip: High Saturation/Saturated = color looks very bright ┃ Low Saturation/Desaturation = color looks washed out or greyed out
⓷ Value: the degree of lightness or darkness of a hue. Tip: There are 3 ways to change a color's value: Shade┃Tint ┃Tone
Shade/Shading: a shade is a color that is produced by adding black.
Tint: a tint is a color that is produced by adding white.
Tone: a tone is a color that is produced by adding grey.
PART 3: What is Color Harmony?┃What Color Combinations or Schemes can we use?
Go back to the Color Wheel as it is a good reference in helping you create appealing schemes. Here are 6 common combinations you can apply in your work:
⓵ Analogous: uses colors (around 2-4) that are next to each other in the color wheel - Match them!
⓶ Complementary: uses colors that are opposite or across of each other on the color wheel - if you can't match 'em, clash 'em with their opposites! Tip: matching these colors creates great contrast and visual interest so they can overpower each other sometimes so keep that in mind.
⓷ Split-Complementary: 1 base color then 2 colors adjacent to its complementary color - if the contrast too much, split them!
⓸ Tetradic: uses 2 complementary pairs. This forms a rectangle on the wheel - if you need more variations go double complementary!
⓹ Triadic: 3 colors that are evenly spaced out in the color wheel. You're free to choose from a variety!
⓺ Monochromatic: uses different tones, shades, and tints of a singular color. Sometimes it just works!
PART 4: What is Color Temperature?
Ever wonder why some compositions feel cold or hot? It is a fact that color has the ability to evoke feelings or emotions. As such, color temperature is the one responsible for this - it is the "warmth" or "coolness" of a color.
Warm colors: Reds┃Oranges┃Yellows Generally seen as colors that are bright, cheerful, active, or happy
Cool Colors: Purples┃Blues┃Greens Generally seen as colors that are dark, mysterious, melancholic, or gloomy
And that concludes this stop for today! These tips are a lot to take in, we feel you, and that's alright - come back to this station when you need a quick reference. We hope you learned a lot from this and that you'll be able to apply them in your paintings or digital illustrations!
Now pack your art supplies and start creating! Safe travels~

hey if you don’t mind, I’ve become interested in flight rising, but I’m kinda confused on how to start, so if you’re fine with this, could you explain on how to start? Thanks :3
No problem! I will do my best to try and explaining. Dropping under read more while i sit here and ramble for a bit.
So to start off, you wanna pick what flight you want to join. You can choose based on aesthetic, lore, etc. but know that the main function and the only thing this choice really has an affect on is what eye-type/element your progenitors and dragons you hatch from your nests will be. The choice in flight won't limit any other site functions, aside from flight specific forums and auctions. So there's no pressure for picking a 'best' flight. Just pick which one you like the most.
And if you're still not sure, don't worry because it's not a permanent decision. You can always change your flight later (the first change is free, but subsequent changes after will cost 1500 gems, the premium currency of the game. But you can do this as many times as you like, the only real restriction is the 6 month cool down before you can change it again).
After picking your flight, you can now make your first dragon, which will be your custom progenitor.
You can pick between any of the 4 plentiful breeds: Fae, Guardian, Mirror, or Tundra. And you can pick the primary and secondary color for your dragon (primary being the main body's color, and secondary being the wing's color), the tertiary (accents color) will be randomly picked after you complete your dragon.
While your choices here mater a little bit more, once again a lot of the choices made here can be changed later. The biggest thing is picking colors you really like, since there is no way to change a dragon's colors without a premium currency item that completely randomizes all 3 of it's current colors. Which can give you better or worse results.
Other than that, you can change it to any of the other available dragon breeds on the site (the one exception being imperials, as they are a kickstarter breed thus their scrolls are not easily available, if ever at all). You can give it all sorts of different genes, and you can even change the pose of the dragon. the only thing you CAN'T change on a dragon is the eye color/element of the dragon, which will be picked by your starting flight. Though you can change the eye 'type' (cosmetic style of the eyes).
After making your first progenitor, the game will give you your 2nd one, which is completely randomized (withing the same restrictions as the custom). This is your random progenitor, and is the game's way of giving you your first breeding pair of dragons (though you don't have to actually breed them if you don't want to, up to you).
Afterwards, you're free to access any of the site's functions and get started playing.
One thing i like to recommend to new players is going to your account settings and turning on selective feed style (located towards the bottom of the settings):
This is an INCREDIBLY helpful setting for managing food supplies, since the rng for general feed can get pretty greedy, and a lot of times you'll have dragons with varied diets prioritizing eating food that might be the only type certain dragons can eat, and will leave them unfed as the other dragons eat up all the food first (dragons like ridgebacks and coatls can only eat seafood, etc. etc.)
This allows you to manage what dragons eat what. Got a bunch of greens but not a lot of seafood? Get those guardians to eat their dang vegetables and stop hogging the seafood from your starving ridgebacks.
And if some days you don't really feel like sorting through each food type and just want to feed all (i know i do sometimes), no worries. cause selective feeding still has a 'feed all' button:
It really is just the normal feeding function but better.
Why feed dragons? Besides them needing energy to participate in site functions like coli or breeding, if you keep your dragons well fed (keep the total clan energy above 80%, or above the 2nd bar) for 3 days in a row (when the blue bar fills up), you get some nice helpful bonuses to your daily activities, the biggest ones being +5 gather turns and +15% exp in the Coliseum.
And as long as you keep them well fed, you will always have these bonuses.
Some other things to note that i don't really have an order for, but feel they need to be mentioned:
Unlocking apparel slots is a permanent global upgrade to your account, and is not per dragon. If you unlock a slot, that applies to all dragons, new or old. This is something that seems to trip up every single new player, myself included, and so i always like to mention it.
Hibernal den is a secondary storage for dragons that can be a lot easier to open slots for, especially when your main lair expansions start to get very expensive. However, keep in mind that dragons in the hibernal den CAN NOT be used for regular site functions. They can not breed, be used in the coliseum, and can not bond with familiars (tho you can still put familiars on them if you want to). On the plus side though, dragons in the hib den never lose energy and never need to be fed. So the hib den is perfect for storing dragons that you really like, but don't really use for anything, like coli or breeding. Also note, when a dragon is taken out of the hib den, they will have a 30 day cool down before they can be put back into the hib den.
If it's not on by default, would highly recommend going to the settings in your hoard and check marking the setting for 'Highlight items that have important uses for other features.' This will add helpful markers to items in your hoard if they are used for any other site functions, and what those functions are. It'll even display if it has multiple uses. like Swipp Swap Trades, Bladwin recipes, or hib den quests. It is SO incredibly useful, given just how many different items are needed for different things, and is a lot to keep track of. If you're not sure what an icon on an item means, you can hover over it and it'll tell you.
While there is a premium currency and a premium item market, you can play this game totally for free. it can take some time depending on what you're after, but it's for sure doable. You can sell items and dragons on the Auction House for gems, or can trade on the forums. playing this game for a little over 9 years now, i think i've only ever spent actual money on it twice? so is for sure doable.
The Game Database is your best friend <3 It is very helpful for finding items, find where those items come from, and finding what those items need or what they cost if it applies. Certain cycled items will have their data removed when they are not currently available, but that's where Comments tab comes in, as many super helpful players have marked down a lot of the info for them for these instances. The comments are also good for finding out how much marketplace items costs when on flight discount.
And that's about all i can think of right off for helpful tips for starting out new. I'm sure i'm missing a bunch of obvious stuff, my memory is not great for these types of things ;>_> If anyone else has something to add that i missed, feel free to add to this. Hope this helps! And enjoy dragon economics! :D
#cobalt speaks#flight rising#I AM SO SORRY THIS TOOK SO LONG TO REPLY TO. i just got back from a trip ;>__<#putting in the tag as well. if anyone has more to add onto this feel free to#i've never felt particularly good at making guides so xP

Hi hun, I found the Enhypen post about the mbti’s interesting. Can you do the mbti types for &team as well? Please and ty 💖
hiii!! yes of course!!
&team as mbti types
1 august, 2023
k may use his past experiences and past mistakes as a way to approach issues. this is introverted sensing (Si), where one uses comparisons and contradictions between the past and present. he may additionally lean towards traditional methods and stick closest to the rules.
k may also be very strong in his routine, to the point where it can be dull and maybe boring. this is because he sees his routine as the most efficient, and may simply prefer to stay with what is working and what is comfortable to him. this is extroverted thinking (Te). he simply focuses on the end goal and his efficiency.
k is most likely an istj guessing by his dominant and auxiliary functions. he is aware of himself and has a strong identity. it makes him passionate, but a little clueless to how he can affect others. this is the work of his tertiary function, introverted feeling (Fi).
k's weakness, extroverted intuition (Ne) may make him pretty closed off to things that are not played specifically by the book. he leans towards how things are supposed to be, not leaving much room for deviations.
nine of swords rx., knight of pentacles rx.
fuma seems to be the type to learn through his senses and how he perceives the world around him, this is extroverted sensing (Se), contrary to k who relies on introverted sensing. he may also prefer to make judgements based on what he knows is real and what he sees is real. he could also work and move fast!
fuma's auxiliary function could be introverted feeling (Fi). he may make his judgements also on what he thinks feels right and what feels wrong. he is very capable and perhaps even more geared to deeper connections. he lives honestly, where it feels innocent and juvenile. think of when protagonists use the power of friendship to beat a monster.
the pairing explained above leads fuma to be an esfp! following this, fuma's tertiary function may be extroverted thinking (Te). this causes fuma to be disciplined, when he has an interest he will expand the most on it. when working with others he can also prefer to be straight-forward.
finally, fuma can have weaknesses with seeing into his future. as mentioned, he lives through what he can feel and see. therefore, things that he is much less physically aware of make him nervous, causing him to either hyperfixate or ignore any thoughts on the future. this inferior introverted intuition (Ni).
knight of cups rx., six of cups
nicholas most likely uses extroverted intuition (Ne) as his dominant function. this causes him to be very aware of the future and it shows his ability to think from different perspectives and different points in time. additionally, he can be really experimental and works with concepts and abstract ideas. he moves quickly but that is because he easily lets go of the past.
as for his auxiliary function, nicholas may use extroverted thinking (Ti). he is able to utilize the same strategies of people who dominantly use this, but it is more sporatic. even though his dominant function is very based on experiments and what is unknown, his auxiliary function keeps his feet on the ground and works for the most logical, though sometimes not the most moral.
this shows that nicholas is an entp. his tertiary function is extroverted feeling (Fe). he is really in touch with the emotions of people around him and he also knows how to work with them and around them.
as a weakness, nicholas can also reject or find obsession in the past, similar to how fuma can reject the future. he can also worry about things that are significant and tunnel vision with nostalgia. this is a result of inferior introverted sensing (Si).
six of swords, temperance rx.
ej seems to be patient and understands the needs and opinions of those around him. a way to think about it and say it is that he is just really in tune with emotions and the atmosphere of people around him. easily, this types him as an extroverted feeler (Fe)! he may also be really good at forming deep connections. overall, ej may be a very nuturing and caring person to those around him.
ej's auxiliary function may be introverted intution (Ni). what he looks for when dealing with an issue can also be how to optimally and efficiently work through and find a solution. his solutions are also largely influenced by the bigger picture and how it can impact the people and the future around him.
these two functions point to ej being an enfj. this means his tertiary function could be extroverted sensing (Se). in the tertiary position, extroverted sensing helps people observe and take in their surroundings. generally, it relies on gathering sensory information.
in terms of weaknesses, ej as an enfj may have trouble with seeing logic behind choices and actions. this is an inferior introverted thinking (Ti). he could avoid making decisions without personal moral and may not like people who make decisions based on logic.
when shuffling for ej, major arcanas repeatedly fell out, which leads me to believe he is a very healthy enfj who knows how to utilize even his shadow functions.
the empress, seven of wands
yuma may have a very structured and objective outlook when faced with an issue. he may rely on extroverted thinking (Te) as his dominant function. he prefers deductive reasoning rather than inductive reasoning. things like data, logic, and anything with numbers to prove he would most likely turn to, he seeks efficiency.
as for his auxiliary function, it most likely is introverted sensing (Si). yuma may look at things while using more tradition methods, things that are secure and safe to him and also are proven to be effective, which is exactly what he is also looking for from his dominant function. he can compare what he knows from the past to the present and use this knowledge to his advantage.
these two functions narrow down yuma as an estj. his tertiary function then becomes extroverted intuition (Ne). this influences yuma to take the separate solutions of past experiences and allows him to combine them to make something even more useful.
what yuma may struggle with is wavering his very strong beliefs, this is an inferior introverted feeling (Fi). of course, in certain cases this is a really strong thing and makes yuma's conviction especially strong. however it may cause him to disregard the feelings of others. even if he is wrong he will always think he is right.
the lovers rx., four of wands
jo seems to be another member who prefers to work with tradition. introverted sensing (Si) in jo's case works as he thinks that tradition is the most secure and best course of action. this does not mean he blindly follows what has happened in the past, but he can gather information from the past for his purpose of security and stability.
jo's auxiliary function may be extroverted feeling (Fe). he seems to be influenced or heavily aware about the feelings and thoughts of others around him. he can additionally be really good with making choices based on the general feelings of the group around him.
by concluding those two, jo is most likely an isfj! this means his tertiary function is introverted thinking (Ti), which he may use to step back from a situation and analyze the framework and structure of it. he can act with efficiency in mind and look for ways to specifically word himself.
as for his inferior function, extroverted intuition (Ne), he can be very speculative; sometimes it can emerge in gossip or believing in very obviously fake rumors or he completely rejects things that are completely rational. it is solely because for him, he needs proven facts and numbers.
wheel of fortune rx., judgement
harua is most likely an extroverted thinker (Ne)! and a very developed one at that, the cards came out immediately and aggressive. his thinking is very creative, where he can start with one inital idea and branch off into larger and bigger concepts. he sees through potential, rather than something that you can see is moving therefore you know it is moving.
second, his auxiliary function seems to be introverted feeling (Fi). he may have a lot of inner strength. courage, self-discipline, empathy; he's abundant. he knows himself well and he is strong in his beliefs, aka what he thinks is right and what is wrong. additionally, he is a deep and volatile feeler, a single word can change his mood completely.
harua based on these two functions is most likely an enfp. since harua is rather young right now, his tertiary may be weak. however, as he has more experiences and gets older, he may develop extroverted thinking (Te) much better. this can be expressed through learning to be more organized with time and his emotions.
as for his inferior function, which is introverted sensing (Si), he can be overwhelmed by details. he can also fall into the trap of always looking back on the past and thinking it was better, instead of paying attention to how far he has come.
page of wands, strength
taki seems to be someone who puts himself in action very instantly. he may learn the best about his situation by gathering inductive evidence, or simply, using what he sees, feels, hears, so on. this is extroverted sensing (Se). he is very aware of the present and continues to move alongside it.
taki can also have introverted thinking (Ti) as his auxiliary function. he can quickly analyze and have conclusions on what he is looking at and experiencing. he can be assertive in what he wants and wastes no time in making his decisions based on what he personally has gathered and thinks.
based on these two functions, taki is most likely an estp. this concludes his tertiary function to be extroverted feeling (Fe) which supports his dominant function pretty well. this definitely makes taki a very extroverted and lively person, someone anyone could have fun with.
his weaknesses could be related to his awareness of the present. such as impulsively making moves without thinking about the future or obsessing over what could happen in the future because of his impulsive actions in the past and present. this is from an inferior introverted intuition (Ni).
the chariot, nine of pentacles
maki's dominant function is most likely introverted intuition (Ni). he is able to look into the future to say, or at least he has a really good eye for outcomes and possibilities. he looks at the bigger picture in order to find the focus and the greater purpose. his thought process can somewhat be described as sequencial but looks for a greater idea.
maki's auxiliary function may be extroverted thinking (Te). he will aim to fix what is not working in hopes to make it better for future events. this is really helpful when he needs to be decisive and use logic for his actions, with of course the majority's goals and interests in mind, instead of his emotions or what is morally good or bad.
maki in the case that this is true, is probably an intj. hence, his tertiary function would be introverted feeling (Fi). he may really liike finding value even in things that seem trivial or straight-forward. when he has an interest it is very obvious and he expands on it.
his weaknesses, as someone with inferior extroverted sensing (Se), is the exact opposite of fuma and taki. he may live so far into the future that he does not think about what is happening now and can be overwhelmed by facts instead of theory.
the moon, the world rx.
why does mbti matter?
mbti is a way for us to see how we approach situations. we see our weaknesses and how we can improve on our thought processes.
why do majority of these not line up with the members' official mbti?
there are a couple reasons for this!! first, as i try to stress multiple times i found out their dominant and auxiliary functions with the use of tarot, i simply correlated the main concepts of the cards to each of the functions.
idols have a character/stereotype to maintain. truthfully, for marketing purposes it is most beneficial for them to act in ways that do not fully align with their thought process or become extremes of specific traits of their process. this post was also geared to introducing and educating the idea of jungian functions/stacking, rather than analyzing the every movements of the members.
what i did not delve into in this post were shadow functions as well. everyone actually utilizes all eight functions. everyone has layers and situations will arise that will cause someone to act 'uncharacteristically'. these shadow functions can make you defensive, self-doubtful, deceiving, and destructive.
the most common form of testing mbti is from testing oneself through websites or research. when dealing with matters including ourself, it may be difficult to objectively answer question based on your own actions and remove personal bias.
finally, it is important to note that mbti does not fully develop in a person until they reach around their mid-twenties. this causes healthy and unhealthy functions. for example, a healthy Ne dominant can use their thoughts and imagination to improve their life, while an unhealthy Ne dominant can be fully disconnected and discontent with reality.
does mbti change?
it is most commonly agreed that mbti does not change, people simply develop and gain healthy habits that help them learn to express each of their functions in the best/healthiest way.

Fate/Strange Fake: Whispers of Dawn - The Abridged Rundown
I'll be real, it's an hour long special, there's a lot to get through in regards to it. I'm going to keep things short, and try and condense my thoughts as much as possible which means I'll be skimming over character (and story) related stuff quite a bit. So here's the gist of it: the US is making a fake Holy Grail War without the Mage Association in hopes of it becoming a real one, and we're thrown into the chaos that is fake and real servants colliding in a story that began as a joke on a website in 2009. Yeah, it was originally a joke, turned light novel, turned manga, and now turned anime, so I really recommend reading up on Strange Fake a little bit and as much tertiary Fate information as you can if you want to grasp it, because that's not the goal of this post.
What is the goal though is explaining my thoughts on this hour long special episode, and what it spells for the series going forward (and maybe just a little story and character stuff, who knows).
I'll get it out of the way right off the bat. The production quality? All over the place. In quite a few moments I was left wondering if characters like Faldeus were off model or if it was a creative decision, and there's plenty of examples of downright questionable animation and decisions. I'm rather disappointed in A-1's output considering the addition of a delay. Was the delay to accommodate a single episode special turning into a full series? Or was it just trying to buy time for the more rough pieces displayed in this episode? It's hard to say, but my prior statements still stand. With the help of a few examples, that is.
Anyways, how about some cool stuff? If there's one thing that Strange Fake has going for it, it's style. Weird, right? Production isn't quite there, but the style really is. One of the more bold and interesting examples of Strange Fake's style is through its camera rotations. Sometimes it leads to super odd and rough cuts like the above, other times it creates really striking and inventive scenes like the following. It adds a very nice feel to the content that it appears in, and draws out that sense of drama and suspense quite well. Also, I love that since it's in America they just couldn't help but feature guns and military.
Of course, rotation isn't the only thing that comprises the visual style of Strange Fake. If you were to draft the number 2 spot for most used approach, it would certainly have to be the aggressive camera angles. Not as flashy as the camera rotation or movement itself, but it still plays into that almost melodramatic feel that this story displays for viewers, steeping itself in grandeur and showmanship.
Now, I will say that it misses the beat on its showmanship nearly as much as it nails it, as layouts aren't the only important thing in selling viewers a story. Right alongside it is character acting, and quite often it's relegated to just sort of vibrating pngs on screen that will interact with one another. For comedic effect I think it has a time and place, but I don't think it needs to be used as much as it is early on in this episode. Thankfully though, the good pieces of character acting are really good. Just take a look at Fake Caster here (even though it's just a hand). It captures their personality, their feel, the emotions of their voice (which you can't hear) incredibly well. Though I'll also say that the camera work adds a large amount of feel as well. Just an all around impressively well
Hmm, so where to next? I think, a fun thing to chat about would be the nature of servants, which ironically, plays a really big role in the pairings and purposes of characters throughout this story. I won't go on spoiling things (though I really don't have any information that is spoilers, unless this is your first fate series). Anyways, lets get it started with the coolest and newest servant: Enkidu.
Enkidu is Gilgamesh's counterpart, and the anime makes sure you understand that. Gil is summoned in the middle of a desert, into the hand of a young girl who completely surrenders herself to Gil. Enkidu on the other hand appears in a forest, summoned by a wolf Chimera. The symbolism of the tree of life that appears as lightning is no joke in poor taste, no sir. Enkidu is the blood-brother of Gilgamesh, a warrior who fought side-by-side the king of legend. The parallels are endless between this infamous pair. The disparity between control and freedom, ruling and harmonizing, so on and so forth ad infinitum. This pair was made for one another, and the anime does a great job of conveying that.
Next on the list of incredibly curious has to be our new Berserker and their master, Flat Escardos. I love this idea so, so much. Two peas in a pod these characters are. Unrestricted, unforgiving, and unlimited. The pair are two sides of the same coin with Jack The Ripper comprising the dark of the pair, while Flat the light. It's a really great dynamic, and the character play off each other incredibly well for comic relief and surprisingly dark comments. It's also with Berserker that we get treated to the first of our trio of title cards (though neither of the other two give names). That is, image stills that represent who our servants are, what their story is. Really, really great stuff.
Next up we've got our Assassin, who tells a very simple story alongside the poorly done slam poetry provided by their master. Not a lot to comment on, but I enjoy how not-so-subtle they are with Assassin's background as a religious woman before her fall from grace. Very befitting story, for sure.
Now, the last and certainly not least is our 'wild card' servant and master combination. This one's really something else (I'll share more afterward), but their concept is 'Pestilence'. You might call them a horseman of the apocalypse, the Pale Rider, the Black Plague, whatever name you might fancy. But what they are remains fact: disease. It's really interesting when paired alongside the youthful and innocent Tsubaki, especially as her father takes on the rot/curse of Pale Rider rather than his daughter. Neither like Berserker nor Assassin, Pale Rider is more symbiotic with Tsubaki. A curse, certainly, but one that also cares for and understands Tsubaki, contradicting their very existence as Pale Rider. It's a really curious character that puts even Enkidu and Gilgamesh on alert, so I'm incredibly interested to see what they get up to in this story.
And that's where our information in regards to servants and masters ends. Of course, I've still got a bit more to go so bear with me for just this little bit more.
Strange Fake's style really is something else, as I've said before, but I think one of the more important pieces to it is how fluid it remains. There's all sorts of crazy interesting ideas, from the title cards I've just shown, to the insane impact frames, the dazzling approach to lighting, or even the art style itself. Hell, they use CGI with Pale Rider and it works perfectly to convey that disturbing feel they exude.
Now, this one's separate just because I wanted to chat about it a little. Francesca here's a little drama queen. You already know from her appearance and disposition that she likes to show off, but it extends far past that. Much further past into truly commendable territory all for the sake of showing off. She knows of her short stature, but wishes to impose upon Reeve in this scene, so what does she do? Make a show of trouncing all over his desk. Kicking his lamp over only after performing a perfectly executed stunt to show that she didn't need to kick the lamp over, positioning herself above him so that the shadow she casts is far greater than that of Reeve's, and (effectively) stomping on his police hat to squash his sense of justice underfoot. It's an incredible setup all for Francesca to toy with Reeve in this scene, and I absolutely love it.
Okay okay, last piece. The super cool Gil and Enkidu impact frames. Love that their color schemes are opposite as well. Very very well done, though I wish their fight itself had a bit more impact to it.
And there it is, the end of this Strange Fake special episode. Would I say I'm completely satisfied? Not really, no. There's a lot of production weirdness and concern that I have with a large amount of material through the episode. The story itself is outstanding though, and is presented impressively well. It's just that the animation and some of the creative decisions in regards to that animation is subpar and in poor taste. Strange Fake: Whispers of Dawn is held back from greatness by a single chain, strained at each link, almost begging to be let loose. We didn't get the perfect beginning that A-1 might have hoped for, but I think it's one that plenty of viewers will be enthralled by nonetheless.

1998 - 2003: cascais, portugal
2003 - 2008: bucharest, romania

2020 - 2022: geneva, switzerland
2022 - 2023: rome, italy
2023 ->: london, england
FUN FACTS.
as evidenced by the timeline section, nadia has moved around A Lot and has lived relatively little time in england. this was motivated by constantine's desire for nadia to learn the tricks of the money laundering trade as soon as she displayed an affinity for it. europe's best were spread across the continent and given that there might be some cultural nuances to the trade, it only made sense she actually lived in the regions.
she is an international baccalaureate girlie through and through. all of her education prior to tertiary education was ib; primary years in portugal, middle years in romania, and diploma programme in wales. given the programme's international nature, it enabled nadia to form connections with useful individuals all over the world.
nadia is 190cm / 6'3" tall, making her the tallest liddell by far. the massive height difference, especially compared to her father, has led to some speculation that she's an illegitimate child, but the liddells have always ignored such talk. they know she's a liddell by blood, as much as she detests their relation, and nothing can change that
speaking of height, rarely will you catch nadia without a pair of christian louboutin's in her feet. she particularly favors the kate design — a classic pointy pump with a red sole and a 10cm stiletto heel. this makes her 2 meters / 6'7" tall and very intimidating in the eyes of others. she couldn't care less about the feelings of others, though, she'll gladly crush you under her heel and exploit your insecurity gleefully.
even though she's got a great memory and likely remembers your name, even after a brief encounter, she'll shamelessly pretend she doesn't remember it if she's deemed you too boring / inferior to her. furthermore, she has no issue using a dehumanizing nickname when speaking about you. an example of this is maksim, who nadia sometimes refers to as "expense number (insert number here)" due to what his rehab cost.
capable of physical violence and killing, as all liddell children are, but considers herself above such vulgarities. however, can and will absolutely calculate the most and least efficient ways to commit such acts based on numbers and statistics.
nadia owns two russian blue cats, named mariinsky and bolshoi. they're the closest thing to children she'll ever have, and all of her capacity for warmth and caring is reserved for them only.
more headcanons to be added !

Re: Asoiaf rarepairs: I really liked the dynamic between Grenn (“the Aurochs”, a teen considered a bit slow of mind, but very strong, and caring - he’s with Sam when Sam slays an Other) and Pyp (the ex-mummer‘s apprentice, a quick-witted, sometimes prankster-like teen who also has a very caring streak) (both in the same recruit group as Jon at the night’s Watch). While Pyp is every once in a while teasing Grenn, he’s generally also very caring towards Grenn, I think even moreso than the rest of Jon’s friend group, just as Grenn doesn’t seem to actually mind Pyp teasing him, even saying as much at one point (something along the lines of “when Ser Aliser called me aurochs he did so to call me slow and dumb, but it’s different, Pyp can call me aurochs!”). They also often appear together or are pointed out together by name in a group when the other lads aren’t specifically named - and that’s even though they are in different placements at the Watch once their recruitment phase is over (Grenn becoming a ranger and Pyp becoming a steward iirc), so they don’t have that much opportunity to hang out together anymore, but apparently still seek each other’s company out. They’re tertiary characters so we don’t get to see much of them, but man, I’d find that pairing sweet as a concept. I believe that there also has been an artist on tumblr here who has drawn the two several times and that was very wholesome too. I forgot the name, but I do know she’s from Germany, references the band fire in the attic in conjunction with Theon fanart a lot (which I happen to know because I also listened to that obscure german hardcore/emo band at one point), and has a very illustrative, clean-sketch type style of semi-realistic (not hyper realistic, not extremely stylised) drawings with muted, low to medium contrast colours (she also draws a lot of One Piece fan art if I recall correctly, but that wasn’t my focus. Does anyone know the artist? Damn my forgetful mind!)
Hi fellow Pyp x Grenn person, glad to make your acquaintance.
I wasn’t originally going to answer to any of these because there purpose is for a small bet/experiment between an irl friend and me, but you asked about the artist and I think you might mean @/sabotensan! She’s also a Asha/Qarl person and her art often has these very beautiful slice-of-life vibes that often depict domestic moments in the hell of a life the characters go through. I like her works a lot.
Also now that I’m answering this anyway: yeeeesss! More appreciation for the tertiary wall boys that I love! Fun enough I think there were one of my first ships in these books and I can pinpoint the moment I first started thinking about their relationship more strongly.
“He was saying I was big and stupid.” Grenn scratched at his beard. “If Pyp wanted to call me Aurochs, though, he could. Or you, or Jon.[…]”
That small choice in syntax was remarkable to me and I doubt GRRM meant anything by it and I thought it was very cute. They are on of the few wholesome ships I’m into.
#also ngl Pyp reminds me of my best friend which automatically makes me wish he has the happiest ending out of all characters in these series#speaking#anonymous

Purchased For: 100 gems Hatched On: 2023-09-19 ID: 89215075
Parentage: Punng/Coilscar Flight: Earth
Primary: Caramel Skink Basic Varnish Secondary: Spruce Bee Basic Edged Tertiary: Spruce Glimmer Basic Plumage Eyes: Rare
Comments: Yeah, a third tree dragon pair for auraboa. I just really love plumage for leafy dragons. And the new varnish gene. And I am weak to tree dragons in particular, it's about half of why I switched from wind to nature a few years back (nature primal eyes being most of the remainder).
Asplenium are a genus of fern that sometimes have long single blades instead of the divided pinnate leaves that more commonly spring to mind when thinking of ferns. Asplenium nidus is one such fern, and it's also epiphytic (grows on trees), which seems very apt for auraboa dragons who live in the treetops.

Aperture Slimence: we goo what we must, because we can.
GLaDOS has designed a new kind of robot to test with, utilizing brain scans of former test subjects and heavily miniaturized personality cores to hold them within. The brain scans have had their memories purged (but not perfectly.) The cores are specially designed to be capable of interfacing with new nano-bots in the gels, which allow them to control gel bodies of any shape they like.
Sometimes they’re tested individually, sometimes in pairs, sometimes all four of them in mind-numbingly complex eight-portal tests.
Blue: Repulsion Gel. * Cheery; determined not to let GLaDOS break her spirits. * Main power: Super-Jump * Secondary Power: Super-throw White: (Portalable) Conversion Gel. * Clueless, clumsy, just kinda weird. * Main power: Portalability * Secondary power: Portalability in motion * Tertiary power: Capability to move through portal. Orange: Propulsion Gel. * Irritable, aloof, pissed off at GLaDOS. * Main power: Super-speed * Secondary power: Double-jump. Green: Adhesion Gel. * Serious, logical, tries to be a leader but none of them can talk so it's tough. * Main power: Wall-climbing * Secondary power: Sticking objects together
"You could be anything you want! You could have tentacles. Or robotic claws. Or machine guns. You could have five eyes. But yet you choose to assume a humanoid shape. How disappointing.”
Image ID:
Four slime girls with portal guns are in a test chamber from portal 2. The walls are black metal with a row of lights on the bottom of the back wall. A curvy blue slimegirl is flying out of a yellow portal placed on white conversion gel. The white gel is also a slimegirl, and her head is sticking up out of the white puddle. A slim orange slimegirl is sliding back from the portal. A green slimegirl is sticking to the wall.
End Image ID.
