Scrapped Content for The Dichotomy In Our Hearts

Where have I been? Ah. Well. Would you believe me if I told you I have been writing and rewriting the same chapter across this past like...week? xD

I have been working through a series of ideas for chapter updates, but I've been very very stuck on The Dichotomy In Our Hearts.

When I tell you. I have written this one scene. OVER AND OVER. LOOOOL.

Ultimately, I've realized the voice of DIOH comes from a sweeter/reflective/"grow through growing pains" kind of tone. Not as much of a conflict-driven/angsty/"Kieran can you please chill the edge bc you're lowkey toxic chain'd" one, like with what you might see me write in Sweet & Sour Dipplins. And lemme tell you, it feels sooooo good to have this breakthrough, because one thing I've been actively trying to do with DIOH is distinguish it from S&S D across the board (but especially with Kieran & Juliana's characterizations & dynamics).

So that being said, I'm gonna rework the last two chapters. I was originally going to have them come out as part of a bigger update in general, but if you've been following this story you've honestly waited long enough, lol. So! I'm prioritizing this. Next update from me will come out within a few days with the conclusion of this story. <3 In the meantime, I figured I should share some of the scrapped work I had - it's a good scene on its own, but you'll see a different version of this scene play out in a more effective way within Chapter 4. :)

Kieran huffed out a breath of the furious storm that had festered inside of him. He had hoped his time decompressing in the frosty woods would freeze over the raw cut to his already withering pride, but it proved to no avail as he walked along the cobblestone pathway to his home. He relished in what remained of the short-lived comfort he obtained through casting himself to the shadows as his home’s lingering lights began to expose his wounds back to the watching world. The rays were an anomaly for this time of night; his grandfather had always had a strict rule of dimming the house before bed, and Kieran was highly certain it was too late for people to be awake. 

He braced himself with a careful inhale as he quietly stepped up to the shoji before him, and the door felt like a paper barrier between the last of his solitude and judgment itself. They couldn’t have been waiting up to lecture him some more, could they? At this point, he didn’t need any punishment beyond the torment of his self-criticism. He knew he was rash and reckless. He knew he was lucky the little boy was okay. 

He just wished he was better. It was another moment he could’ve used to prove himself, but he blew it. Again.

 The guilt already gripped into him mercilessly. It seemed as if the history of his inexcusable failures enjoyed repeating themselves - no matter how hard he tried to remedy them by pushing himself - and it seemed as if the world would do anything but retire the spotlight from him while he dug his grave further into the lifeless ground. The real salt in the wound was the dramatic irony of how he had failed this time, though. 

Once again, his efforts were fruitless. Once again, Juliana had stepped in so effortlessly. Once again, she is showered in praise while he is showered in shame. 

And of course she bore witness to his humiliation.

Kieran clenched his jaw tightly as he slid the shoji. He remained stealthy, but still nonetheless moved swiftly to rip the band-aid off to whatever awaited him indoors. He squinted his sensitive eyes against the blaring, toasty lights - they were more powerful than what had seeped through to the front porch - and the illuminance from the lamps refracted warm hues off of the yellow-orange walls. Minus the scattered lights, the house was void of his noisy family members. They must’ve all retreated to their beds as Kieran would reasonably predict.  As Kieran’s vision adjusted to his bright and tidy home, his movements slowed to the sight before him. He stepped inside in a manner that was as Dedenne as he attempted to survey the situation.

Juliana was curled up against the kotatsu in an awkward position - one that looked far from comfortable. It appeared as if she had fallen asleep entirely by accident; she had donned her usual attire instead of the pajamas she was meant to borrow, and she was sitting up rather than lying down into the kotatsu’s blanket that poorly covered her lap. Her back was hunched over so she could rest her cheek against her forearms, which were somewhat sprawled along the wooden surface of the kotatsu. Her Deerling-like eyes remained sealed shut as Keiran inched closer, and there was a subtle droop in her parted jaw as she softly breathed. Odd touches of flyaways and frizz decorated her waved, somewhat messy hair, and Kieran noted slight creases that wrinkled in a hidden gray underneath her eyes. 

Was she waiting up for him? 

It was yet another moment that felt stolen and improper. When he observed her, he could see nothing but a much more vulnerable aspect of his rival that he felt he wasn’t meant to experience.

Kieran bit the corner of his lip and exhaled slowly - the bewildering tugs of emotions on either end only added to his already building frustration. He quietly snagged the patchworked, quilted blanket that was draped along the plush sofa nearby her - why she couldn’t just resign herself on that at the minimum, Kieran didn’t know - and carefully wrapped it around her narrow shoulders. As he turned to leave, a gentle touch around some of his fingers caused him to gasp. 

“Ki…Ki-”

Kieran’s mouth suddenly felt dry as his heart skipped a beat. 

“-eran,” Juliana finished, and the weird sensation in his chest rallied heat around him. Why was he imagining she would call him…?

The touch around his middle and ring finger became a soft grip as Juliana stirred and began rubbing her face. Now that she was awake, reality struck him back into his senses and he suddenly felt as restless as he was in the woods. 

Kieran tried to keep his voice even as he spoke. "Juliana, it's late. Ya’ should go to bed," 

Juliana blinked sleepily as she sat up, still holding his hand. "I was worried about you," she murmurs. "Are you okay?"

Kieran nearly pulled his hand away as the realization dawned on him. So this was what it was all about: pity.

She was the hero who looked down on him and pitied him before anything else.

The epiphany was a coarse grain of salt rubbing in his wounds, but it was somehow the easiest and most sensible thing to believe than any lingering alternatives. "Why do you care so much?" he snapped, immediately regretting his harsh tone but feeling unable to stop himself. "You don't need to pretend to be worried about me."

Juliana flinched as she became more alert. “Why would I pretend to be worried?”

“Don’t play dumb,” Kieran spat as he snatched his hand away. 

“Why are you trying to pick a fight with me?” Juliana asked firmly as she rose, a hint of anxiety in her defensiveness. “Is this about Peacharunt?”

“It’s about way more than that.” Kieran tightened his fists as he steadied his gaze on a chair cushion, readying his words like canons. “You won again. Ya’ always do. I don’t need your pity as a consolation prize.” 

“I’m not trying to pity you,” Juliana countered. “I just know that things have been hard lately, and I-”

Kieran turned to face her, his voice almost trembling as the pain in her face brought out some of his own. “That’s why ya’ came here in the first place, right? I just mess everything up left and right. Ya’ just want ta’ keep an eye on me and fix my mistakes. ‘Cause I’m so horrible.”

Juliana stepped closer and spoke softly enough to make the hair behind Kieran’s neck raise. “Kieran, you’re not horrible at all. But you’re acting like you are, and you keep pushing people away. You’re pushing me away.”

Juliana’s cries fell on deaf ears as the anger flared inside of Kieran, directionless. An ugly mix of self-loathing, resentment, and deep-seeded insecurity oozed uncontrollably as he spat out his words. "Stop beatin’ around the bush, everyone knows that I can't ever measure up to you!” His voice cracked with the weight of his emotions, and he turned away again, unable to face her and complete his thought. How even his own grandparents trusted her battle skills over his.

“This isn’t a competition. I’m not trying to compete with you,” Juliana breathed unevenly, as if there was something unsteady brewing in her.

Kieran's eyes narrowed, his frustration boiling over. "Ya’ think it's not a competition? It's always a competition! Everyone is always comparing us, and I always come up short. Do ya’ even know what that's like?” Kieran continued as Juliana opened her mouth in protest. “Ya’ don’t. ‘Cause you’re always the hero everyone wants and loves. You are perfect,” Kieran spat as an insult as he ran out of breath. 

A pulsating surge of shock struck Kieran as his rival’s voice grew uncharacteristically intense. "You think I'm perfect? You think I don’t have struggles? That I don’t actually care about you at all?” Her voice cracked before becoming small and hushed. “How could you say such a thing?”

His eyes danced between hers in anguish, and he messily attempted to somewhat soften his outburst as he recalled her smile under the fireworks. “If you had any flaws they’d just be a work of art.” (MAKE CONTRADICTION MORE FLUID)

“I thought you of all people would know that I'm anything but perfect!” Juliana cried out, tears bursting down her face. “After everything you’ve seen me struggle with.”

As he witnessed the seams of her composure become undone, Kieran felt as if he was sinking, too. The tension in his fists released as he was taken aback, rendered speechless. 

Juliana continued to fall apart before him, using both of her hands to wipe her face repeatedly as her voice trembled. “I don’t fit in at the academy. I miss being at home. And the only person that really feels like a home is the one person I’m pitted against. You’ve seen me fail over and over again with all of these things. You’ve seen parts of me I haven’t shown anyone else. But you... you act like I’m this flawless person who just waltzes through life without a care. And it hurts, Kieran. It hurts because I care about you so much, and you don’t even see it.”

Kieran’s eyes widened as he was hit with a sudden sense of clarity. He began to blink rapidly as he recalled the intimacy and affection he had misread as a threat. Her giddiness, her eagerness to accompany him and cling to him, her interest in his thoughts and moods. A tingle ruptured inside him as he pieced everything together. 

She…liked him? 

It felt like a haughty deduction, but it was the only way he could make sense of such strong feelings. He wasn’t sure what to make of it - what he was even supposed to do with it. Kieran hesitantly reached out an arm around the shaking girl’s back and nudged her forward. His hyperawareness grew as she collapsed into him as she sobbed, curling her fingernails around arms. It felt as she was slipping down, and Kieran unintentionally dropped to the floor with her as she buried herself against him. 

It was a moment he was entirely unprepared for and could never predict. There was a part of him that felt good - as if his damaged ego was stroked and given value. There was another that raved about the attention he was receiving, to have someone fight because they cared. There was another part that was disgusted at himself for those feelings. There was another that couldn’t make sense of Juliana and her multidimensionality. Was he wrong about her? Does he have the right to be mad at her? Is he even mad at her? Why would she have a crush on him, if she even did? Kieran felt as if he was short-circuiting from the swirling contemplation. 

He was ages away from speaking as Juliana continued to blubber. “I don’t know what I’m supposed to do! I don’t know how to make up for what happened with Ogerpon! And it breaks my heart to keep seeing you get so angry without knowing how to fix it!” 

"Juliana, I..." he starts, staring aimlessly at the wall behind her as his voice trails off. “I didn’t realize…” 

"Of course you didn't," she weakly replies against him to the point where it was difficult to hear. "You're too busy seeing me as this perfect person who has it all together, like everyone else. Well, I'm not. And it hurts, Kieran. It hurts.” She repeated, nearly nonsensical.

lowkey one of them was loosely inspired by your bj deetz au (which i am forever grateful for i still need to finish reading that) and a few other ones i’ve read that i can’t fully remember — where he’s taken in by charles and emily. emily dies. he’s also pronounced dead — but then he wakes up, screaming, only answering to a different name — beetlejuice. years pass and he gets snatched in the night by juno because he’s old enough to become her heir now and a lot of shit happens, they have to go into the netherworld despite knowing nothing about it this time round, etc. also the maitlands are british exchange students here i dont know if that’s anything useful but. i can do that! wow i love writing. joy of AUs means i can just DO that. it’s relevant to the plot i promise its like loosely framed around college. also miss argentina is in the netherworld i love her so much

another one was like. eventually he decides that he’s going to go back to the netherworld to search for his dad after living with the maitland-deetzes for a while but ultimately gets hella lost and or stuck there. again everyone has to haul his ass out from in there with the help from miss argentina (did i tell you i love her so much). it is a huge wip at the moment i might rework some of the plot a little bit but its just feels all around honestly i want to kick him in the gut and then help him stand back up again and this fic is me doing that

Idk why but I sort of just assumed New 52 Teen Titans and all the stuff involving Tim and Cassie, etc, back then had been like. Erased from continuity, never happened, all memories of it gone. Maybe that’s the only way I can reconcile how bonkers (derogatory) everything was and how inconsequential and irrelevant it is now to current continuity (also like. How else am I supposed to make sense of stuff like how apparently Tim’s parents were still alive? But now they aren’t or at least I assume they’re not, bc they haven’t been mentioned or anything in that capacity since?? Like. Does Tim remember his New 52 personality and backstory change outside of like his memories of Young Justice being messed with? When did his personality and backstory actually revert back to Pre-Née 52? I have no idea! They haven’t gone into depth or even mentioned it in a throwaway line afaik!! I need to make it make sense istg)

See, in general I feel you because this whole thing was handled messily, but I have a few things to try to say in response that aren't necessarily in order you brought them up, but, yeah. Also all of this is kinda moot now that after Death Metal everyone does remember everything to some degree, and they even acknowledged the New 52 team during that big splash page of all the Titans teams, so like it's definitely considered stuff that happened to some degree

Even though a lot of stuff from New 52 Titans doesn't get brought up after, some parts of it do! The most plot-relevant example I can think of is during the Super Sons of Tomorrow story, because basically the whole reason Raven & Gar decide to work with Titans Tomorrow/Savior Tim is because of their connections with modern day Tim from when he led the Teen Titans (in the New 52)

Which like, this was a story in 2018, already a few years into Rebirth. The moment Rebirth happened it's not like every New 52 Teen Titans thing just disappeared, I mean hell the last issue of Teen Titans Vol. 5 actually came out after Tim had 'died' in Rebirth Detective Comics

So it's just this weird thing with a lot of contradictions, right off the bat. In terms of personality basically as soon as Rebirth started they were trying to shift Tim closer back to his previous self, but the first time we actually learn about his history being restored to his old one is during Lonely Place of Living:

Which takes place after he'd been 'killed' and plucked out of time by Mr. Oz. When he'd been taken in the first place, this line always sticks out to me:

Which when trying to make things... make sense in the mess that continuity is, has always felt like at least partially an admission that restoring Tim to who he was required changing so many things because of all the strings attached to the New 52 version of him, it wasn't as simple as just altering his personality. Things like those parents, and any other parts of his history that involve other people, were complicated for the universe to try to 'restore' to their previous state because of how they were altered, so taking Tim (and I imagine those things by extension) 'off the field' was the simpler solution.

While he's 'off the field' with Mr. Oz It's just kinda... the way I rationalize it is that the universe reworked itself as it needed and it just required that extra time with him out of the way to readjust properly, so that when he comes back things have been altered to his original reasons for becoming Robin & everything there, but while his origin was restored other elements of his history since the New 52 had happened stayed more or less the same (bc like other stuff from before the New 52 like Young Justice didn't get restored until later)

In general it's all still very confusing and trying to apply too much logic to it is hard, and ultimately I think they were just trying to retcon what they wanted to and not worry about details from before that they didn't want to... but I kinda imagine it like events from New 52 Teen Titans are still foggily remembered by him, but in probably a weird dissociative way bc there are these differences between Tim now and the Tim that lived through those events. Other people who didn't have quite as big of changes that effected their time as Titans (like Raven and Gar as shown above) might remember things more clearly.

A little off topic but with what you asked about if Tim remembers his memories changing, I feel like he probably wouldn't because there's been no indication of that, but some characters have been shown to be like... aware that things get altered. For example: Miguel, who had been put in some kind of stasis and has clear memories of The New 52 Teen Titans, but also is lowkey aware that things have been altered and rebooted.

In general: it's confusing! A lot of it I think they just want to shove under the rug until they decide 'oh actually we want to use this little detail again' and that us as fans are probably putting way more thought into it than the people at DC themselves are. i had an absolute clown moment and forgot to send in a hiatus request, but I'm back now! and figured it’s as good a time as ever to update a bit, throw in some possible connections, and also put a slightly reworked background down. way way way too long of a post under the readmore

How long has your character been here?

It’s been a few months now. Superman made his first public appearance a few weeks after Clark arrived and is a publicly known figure, if a taciturn one. He shows up, quietly helps, talks to any victims and first responders, but hasn’t done that introductory interview. I imagine when the Planet showed up they published a profile on him.

What’s your character’s job?

Clark is a journalist on the Daily Planet. While the bulk of his pieces are normal city stuff, he has been angling his way into a few more investigative pieces. Being Superman is also taking up more and more of his time.

Where has your character been pulled from in their fandom?

A year after the events of Superman: Birthright! The tl;dr of this origin story is that it’s where most of Man of Steel’s inspiration/vibes come from, but ends with Clark not having to kill anyone and the general public opinion cautiously optimistic instead of terrified. Many details below for other DC muses in backstory.

Has any magic affected your character?

While he can leave town to help with worldwide disasters, the further away the stronger the pull back to Washington. An hour helping with an apartment fire in Baltimore and he’ll feel no side effects, but six hours in Yunnan helping to dig a town out of a mudslide and he’ll be tired until he spends a few days back in the city.

If your character has enhanced senses, they might notice that this reporter guy’s a little odd (a very slow heartbeat, doesn’t really smell like a human, etc.)

There’s like a total of 5 gifs of Cavill as Clark with his dang glasses on, so if he’s not in the Suit please imagine him with glasses

again more information below but the summary is, compared to the DCEU Superman, he’s a little more approachable and less stressed; compared to CW Superman he’s much more reserved

while I do generally like the DCEU movies there’s just... too much stuff in them I disagree with or would have to rework. SO, since it’s Comics, I’m using the time honored tradition of taking stuff I like/think makes sense and lowkey ignoring the rest...

...but somehow i’ve managed to not see any of the CW shows (Smallville, Supergirl, and Superman and Lois), so he’s going to be ignorant of those characters until they meet here.

Possible connections

Colleagues: not just other journalists or Daily Planet staff, but investigators, detectives, (noncorrupt) police officers; if the job involves hanging out around newsworthy sites then your muse may have noticed the tall guy who seems to have a nose for trouble and who sometimes seems to just slip away when no one’s looking, or Clark may have approached your muse for a quote or perspective.

Neighbors: Clark lives in a single he can barely afford on the top floor of a small, modest building. He’s a quiet neighbor and would be a good one but for the fact that he’s a horrible morning person and will cheerfully say hello to your muse when he passes them or whistle his way down the stairs at the crack of dawn. I feel like his neighbors think he grows weed because he's had at least four weird specialist sunlights delivered (he’s just trying to regrow some Kryptonian tech)

Interviewees: When the Planet came to Washington, not all of its staff did, so Clark’s been working overtime as the staff works to reorganize. His main beat is the city, but he has been pinch hitting for every department from politics to food.

People he’s helped as Superman: While Clark’s not always around or able to respond, he does as much as he can, and there’s a growing number of people in DC who he’s helped. These would probably be interactions on the quicker side, but he’s perfectly willing to walk or fly your muse home if they ask.

People he’s stopped from Doing Crimes: So long as no one’s being hurt, Clark would prefer to talk to criminal muses and ask them to stop or return stolen goods. If they do he’ll let them go with a warning. If your muse is hurting someone, though, he’ll intervene more forcefully.

Backstory; basically what you’re expecting

This Clark landed on Earth as a young toddler and was pretty sick for his first year or so. Jonathan and Martha were loving and well-meaning parents but were afraid; Martha of Clark getting taken away, Jonathan, far more graphically, that the government would experiment on him. Needless to say they emphasized hiding his abilities and Clark internalized this a lot, to the point of wishing he was ‘normal.’ Jonathan died of a heart attack Clark’s senior year. Clark went to college for two years but ultimately left to travel the world looking for other metahumans or hints to where he came from while scraping together a living, at first from manual labor, eventually finding journalism, all while trying to save people’s lives without revealing himself. He completed a degree in journalism with correspondence courses and class credits here and there. Eventually he got a recorded message from Jor-El and Lara working, which let him grow the Fortress. Having met a ton of everyday heroes in his travels, and with the support of his Ma, Clark decides to step into the sunlight and help people openly instead of secretly, although he decides to keep quiet about the alien part. His debut: destroying two militarized Lexcorp helicopters that have ‘malfunctioned.’

This nearly ends in disaster when Lex Luthor realizes he can turn people against the newly minted Superman. Lex plays on xenophobia and Superman’s rather reserved public persona, and then engineers a false Kryptonian invasion via Comics Book Technology and paid actors, claiming Kal-El is an advance scout. There are a few casualties, but not nearly the scale of devastation in the DCEU. Since then, Clark’s been humbled, working hard to figure out the safest ways to help.

she was a chaser in quidditch all the way up to varsity but dropped out shortly after seriously hurting herself and during her time in recovery she literally reassessed her life.

i think saying she's a little rough around the edges might be putting it lightly, but she means well. her heart is in the right place believe it or not (even if she doesn't always seem to have all her marbles). she's a good girl and cares genuinely with her whole heart. she’s passionate, warm-hearted even if she can’t express her feelings well, a fighter with a lot of spirit and moxie and will support you with an iron fist.

ill start with the obvious, her stuff with the other hannibal cast is stuff im looking forward to doing more with. 

starting with alana, just... getting the chance to develop their dynamic on screen but also developing their dynamic from such a different context is really interesting? honestly i feel like you dont often get the chance to do this sort of taking character from an earlier canonpoint but going in a similar direction and seeing.... how that works out. and aslo just exploring a ship that starts with some casual but overt attraction to start with, and playing with that. but okay on a more specific level, i always enjoy getting to the point of “characters tell each other the gritty details of canon the other doesn’t know” and doing those reactions, and with this especially some of those details are. pretty intense! sorry margot is just going to be so surprise pikachu if she ever finds out alana was seeing hannibal. where was i going with this. but yeah uhhh building up trust is always fun. and, with until dawn plot and/or murder mystery plot and/or something else?? i think itd be fun to give them some kind of excuse to have to team up to do something serious. because cmon

ill put both of tony’s potentials in one section, so starting with will. will is another character who id be really interested to see how their dynamic develops on denny? their relationship in canon is both so nothing AND really intense simultaneously. and the chance for them to actually deal with that and have a dynamic in a less dire circumstance could be interesting, because i feel like they really could be friends? idk something about their interactions made me feel like margot genuinely got along with will underneath everything, or as much as she does with anyone. yeah. okay and then FREDDIE, wow, thats a wildcard, like theyve never met in canon but clearly would’ve known of each other. i should talk to tony about planning things, since there’s a lot like -- margot might be one of the only people on the cast that doesn’t immediately have a reason to dislike freddie. which lends them an... interesting dynamic, whether its margot being slightly more friendly, or developing something more antagonistic like the others, but. i feel like i dont need to say much since freddie is just such a bombshell of a wild card that she encourages plots anyways

as for other potential castmates.... it really depends. i know josh was thinking of picking up hannibal again, and that’d be really interesting, since... margot doesn’t have as much of a stake in hannibal as the others, but she has enough and she’s involved enough that she can’t help but care. i guess SHE gets to be the wildcard in the situation like that. anyway it’d depend on which canonpoint hannibal and what he was planning to do

okay for a more GENERAL idea. it would be fun to get her involved in something more high-powered, but there’s no easy parallel to “inheriting the family estate and reworking the business to be more humane”. getting involved with the nonhumans might be a good way to kinda do that, though that might be a bit more slowburn since nonhuman stuff is usually more lowkey. hmmm. who knows, maybe like.... after a few tenser moments she might even get more involved with the mld, like maybe in a pr position? i feel like margot would be good at pr, shes the right mix of chilly and charming. there aren’t too many organizations rn that she really has the qualifications for and would get involved in. hmmmm, i don’t know.... 

she’ll probably be involved in murderplot SOMEHOW, though ill save that for the other ask. i don’t think she’d be a victim, but maybe a close brush at worse...

in the meantime ill pick out a few characters i also think she could get along with. there’s camille, since they both kind got along before and have the same hat of a terrible pig-oriented history. though it’d be best if they didn’t talk about siblings, whoops. and also felix, because oh my god finally i have a character whose interaction with the mld wouldn’t be negative. especially when she gets closer to alana, having a sort of “you’re the coworker(/boss???) of my friend” dynamic would be interesting? well. “friend”. anyway. oh and villanelle, if shes getting dragged into hannibal drama i really want the (confused math lady) moment of that. and i think... she might be pretty sympathetic towards someone like harry

i don’t think she’d really take anyone in, since her relationship with children is uh. very complicated and emotionally raw. maybe, maybe in the right condition. but maybe it’d be fun for her to have her talk to some of the other characters who do, like cordelia. idk i have a soft spot for the idea of people with shitty relatives getting to meet people who are much kinder. hmnn. though again shes prone to be nicer to the nonhumans, so thats probably where he more supportive and kinder instincts go. margot can’t help but coo over firepaw, 

mostly though let her be happy, i don’t wanna put her through TOO many traumatic moments because she’s had plenty of that in her life. otherwise i think theres just a general lot of interesting emotional things to do with someone in her position, whos very suddenly given a lot of freedom and how she chooses to deal with that

Thoughts on the new episode in short, along with retcons and reworks for it to line up a little better, along with Ered’s feelings toward David, Gwen and the others, etc. Along with new rules and updated ones and thoughts on the campers. Major update and spoilers to the blog.

New rules:

20. Retconned scenes and retconned conflicting personality traits, along with the rework must be read further below.

After S3 The campers have finally faced other kids in the show other than what we’ve seen on a regular basis for what they’re capable of in burning down the camps- it’s important to note that those kids were SEEMINGLY NORMAL in comparison. It’s confirmed basically that the kids are abnormal such as Nurf with his obvious super strength in his arms and Ered with her extreme healing rate and durability and physical capability, some traits being supernatural with Nurf and Ered, but especially such as Harrison with his magic and Nerris able to reattach his arm after S1 E9 when she says ‘I can fix it’ and Harrison has his arm again later on I think. Then Nikki with her animal empathy and control, along with Neil and his super intellect. They are NOT normal kids by this point as far as I’m concerned.

So with that: I will be rping Ered as an abnormal girl as such with extremely fast healing capability/actual some amounts of regeneration, along with survivability from situations that’d normally be 100% fatal to a lot of other characters, as in falling off an incredible height or have a lot internal resistance and immunities to certain things- I do this because so far with 3 literal seasons? Only about a month has potentially passed and she probably healed less than a day for her full-body cast. So with strength being a slight step down from Nurf in physical strength in her arms but being much stronger in her legs than he is with his arms and legs, as more confirmation with how she was jumping without running in the S3 finale with little to no effort a rather great distance shows that aspect, along with the actual math I did for her running speeds from the Snowday episode. So now that this rule is more detailed, more info can be found in the about regarding Ered’s capability in the about.

Ok, so the finale was great, it was good and all and grand, but I have to say that while it was good? Cut: off to be added into the about and rework so Ered’s involvement makes more sense.

Intro to the rework:

There were some flaws in the story-telling with Ered’s dads and Ered’s involvement considering she has the option to tell them on what was involved with all the stuff that went on. I realize they said it’s not supposed to make sense always but that just feels like lazy writing honestly. So without further delays:

The rework, warning heavy S3 spoilers. This is a temporary rework until it becomes invalidated or explained due to Ered’s involvement with her dads if ever while also still retaining to canon. I will NOT however change how Ered feels about them both and her involvement:

As David and Gwen in reality would be held just as much responsible for the whole ‘Daniel incident’ and probably took a plea deal themselves as much as I like the two as characters? They would and should not get off for that scott-free, considering David broke actual laws since Daniel was a wanted man but had no background check, but also in the sense Gwen also left the camp with the kids alone with him and David. So in reality by law? They would face consequences for that once Ered told her dads when they arrived or probably through her own means and they looked into it since he WAS hired meaning they had him on file which would then be added to a system- so yes, they would face consequences but I won’t force this on every David or Gwen I come across, but it matches up with the season finale in that David and Gwen are just as much victims to Campbell as anyone else with the protocol they were taught or followed, which is extremely lenient if looking at such an offense, but I’m making an exception due to me explaining it as: there being legal complications and protocol from Campbell with them being legally obligated to follow as a loophole that keeps them from going to prison due to Cameron being at fault for it. So while it is community service, they weren’t tried due to complicated circumstances due to Cameron’s abuse of the law, along with not having it added to their record- this way, there is consequences to breaking the literal law, as Daniel would’ve needed a background check when it comes to dealing with children as he went as HIMSELF so he would’ve been turned down. And also they’re both confirmed to be incompetent by Gwen herself, so it’s not like it goes against canon from what a character actually says herself.

Ered’s involvement:

So with an undetermined amount of time between the camp being sold episode and also Ered’s involvement being much lesser in the later season episodes? I’m going to say that after episode 10? Due to Ered’s involvement with everything and her being there conflicts with her dads’ interest who would definitely care on the conditions and what happened? Ered was taken out much sooner and did not appear in episode S3 Ep 11 due to this other than hearing what happened via her dads through her cellphone. Her involvement was little to none in that episode so it meshes along with her coming back afterward, because I will not simply have her there for ‘lol reasons’, as it would make her dads irresponsible and to fill in a plot-hole that was overlooked. She could also simply not care about any of that later on in canon and not say anything, but that’s honestly stupid regardless of circumstances. This lines up because time is undetermined throughout the series other than a potential month passing for the three seasons due to a Calender seen, but we shall see. So Ered was probably gone for a little while and I’m willing to rp people missing her at the Camp.

Retconned scene:

My Ered was not in this scene but also the fact that it was honestly? Just she was excited to get candy too for canon even though I didn’t see her with any in the next scene unless I saw a glimpse I think. But she has literal FBI dads so they’d teach her how to be safe and not take candy from literal strangers. But the kids accepting candy from a literal Herbert reference from Family Guy and accepting a stained bag of candy as a not-so-subtle pedophile joke is just not happening and will not be mentioned in rps on this blog or you will get a warning. This scene was overall over the top stupid and really played too much into David being a dumbass, as even he would be sketchy of it. So it’s been reworked into the kids taking a Taxi Van as those actually exist and I’ve been in them before.

How my Ered feels toward Gwen and David:

After the incidents happening at the camp? Ered has conflicting feelings with Gwen and David, but while she doesn’t trust them necessarily again after all that’s happened with Daniel and them trying to make them eat literal garbage since they ran out of money, but she never ate the food so I suspect she got it elsewhere considering she’s hinted to have snuck a dumptruck into the Camp before in S1. Along with other things? She likes them still somewhat and recognizes they tried to fix things in the end, but there is lowkey, chill bitterness deep within that. As Ered is the eldest and has been identified to be more observant and aware of things that should not be how they are, despite conflicting portrayals in other episodes. She even showed to just be saying ‘typical’ of Cameron running off with the bus.

I am however willing to work through that resentment to make things better as I can see Ered wanting to like them again, but also feeling probably betrayed and hurt over it since in S1? Was the peak of how she probably felt toward them both but just downplays it lowkey. She might be stoic and hard to read, but she’s still a teenage girl that’s fairly young and has feelings like anyone else, regardless of hcs or not for personality and spectrums. This is something that could be done post S3 for timeline since David and Gwen would probably be trying to make it up to them all.

How my Ered feels about the Campers:

Overall they’re her friends and it’s probably why she put up with it for so long for being at the camp, but do know that if ic your muse breaks that friendship? They will face those consequences or we will need to do a soft reset. I will keep Ered being sad that not only she had to leave for safety reasons from her fathers’ concern for her yet understanding why they did it, but all her friends were separated from each other later on when finding out. Max and her had it out in the S1 Debut but after the Halloween Episode and other instances of them interacting friendly with each other and junk? Ered was happy to come back with them fixing it all up in their scheme against Campwell- probably being on good terms with him now. Nurf, Nikki, seem to be good friends with her as well. While I have Nerris currently as one of her best friends after S3 Ep 2 by default for relations in all that’s mentioned above. Do keep in mind some canon muses will be pre-established and on better terms with her than what’s stated in rps due to interactions or discussions privately.

Hotaru (first draft is finished)

- Abt two men that are linked through a surgery called “synchronisation”, which basically connects their minds and bodies, so they are forced to work as a team. Ea is an ex-soldier and Cain was a hacker, but due to the fact that they can’t stand each other, they also didn’t share their pasts with each other. To pay someone to unlink them, they become bounty hunters and kidnap the girl Ai and her robot Subaru, which is one of the old military robots, called Hotarus (high technologised, operating, transforming, artificial intelligence, ranger units). They are connected to a human ranger and can transform into what the ranger wants them to transform into.

The Hotaru headquarters exploded 10 years ago and since then the Hotarus are super rare on the black market.

The two men plan on selling both the girl and her robot and let’s just say it all doesn’t work out that well.

To stop global warming some scientists basically caused a new ice age. On the long run this might be very effective but the former countries, now sectors, are hit by strong ice storms, called snow white. To stay safe huge bunkers, the Safe Cities, were built and the local fauna and flora were stored in Arks, to preserve them.

Usually an alarm sounds before all citizens are brought into the SCs, but this time Reese and her best friend Yuki dont manage to get to the vehicles on time and are left behind. They seek shelter in a private bunker outside of town that Yuki found out about recently. Suddenly a group of boys their age knocks on the door, because they were also left behind and followed the girls.

Al, the brothers Eli and Isaac, Gil and Henry become the new bunker-mates and the group has to survive one year in the bunker, until the storm is over.

The script for a shortfilm i once made with my friends. A school class has a plane crash and only a few students survive, they all embody a different character archetype (the sunshine, the soziopath, the smart one etc.) They try to survive and are put through weird psychological mind experiments like the trolley problem.

To be honest, the concept had and still has a lot of potential and we just hadn’t the opportunities to rly set it the way we anticipated. The shooting day was super fun, though! Still laughing about the outtakes

Astral Chronicles (some art and a few chapters, unfinished)

A story Idea i still like but probably wont write like this because of copyright problems. Its basically a giant Crossover.

Its abt people who have an Astral( mostly a literature figure) they embody when they are dreaming. Their body stays in bed and is vulnerable but the Astral can basivally run around and has special powers. If the Astral dies, the person wakes up but i think when the body dies the person dies too? idk.

The Protagonist embodies Alice and there are also the White Rabbit, Peter Pan, Tinkerbell usw.

There was also some kind of conflict? I dont remember.

If i would ever rewrite it the Astrals would be embodiments of the Zodiac signs.

Actually super interesting but too many charas and a too tiny will to draw action scenes or write them.

And the main team had an opponent team that basically specialized in the 25272 other elements and some day they just fused teams idk.

There also was some prophecy shit abt the anchors, ppl that can control all elements the same???? Idk
