[SUMMARY: Joel deals with his jealousy as Tommy and you get more serious.]
PART TWO to my last reblog!!
Smut, drama, infidelity, angst
“Did he make you cum?” His sudden question catching you off guard. His eyes darkened as he waited for your response.
Sarah’s mother showed up the next morning to take Sarah to school since Joel had to leave early with Tommy. When she arrived she noticed Joel acting stranger than usual, he was quiet not making eye contact with anyone, he seemed like he was in a bad mood.
“Woke up on the wrong side of the bed?” She whispered leaning toward him making him look up.
“Just gettin’ ready for work”
Tommy showed up and poured himself coffee yawning as he greeted Sarah’s mother.
“Well you missed the show last night, these two gettin’ locked in the basement”
“Who?”
“My brother and my girl” Tommy raised his brows as her mother quickly turned to Joel who kept himself with his back to both of them drinking his coffee.
“Oh really?” She raised a brow.
“Mhm, but it wasn’t for long” he continued.
“You ready to go or ya gonna keep yappin’” Joel uttered before taking another sip from his mug.
“I’m ready, let’s go” Tommy grabbed his bag as Joel walked out yelling out to his daughter that he would see her that night and not saying a word to her mother.
“I wanted my dad to take me to school” Sarah came out the room as she grabbed her backpack.
“Well we all can’t get what we want, can we?” her mother snapped at her before walking to the bathroom and slamming the door shut. Sarah didn’t understand why her mother had returned if she acted like she couldn’t stand being a mother.
As usual, Tommy would see you in the morning on the porch while Joel got the truck ready. Packing his stuff in the back he watched Tommy greet you with a kiss. He failed miserably at trying to keep his eyes off you, his eyes blazing with envy as he watched your lips touch his once more before Tommy walked back to the truck. Joel looked away before he could notice, walking to the front of the truck he looked up and locked eyes with you for just a moment before you quickly turned and walked inside.
Joel drove in silence, his expression rather serious as he kept his eyes on the road.
“You got back in late” he suddenly spoke, thinking about how his brother left with you and didn’t return till nearly three in the morning.
“What are you monitoring me now, dad?” Tommy chuckled but Joel quickly became lost in his thoughts thinking about what you two were doing so late together. Thinking about what you had said the night before in the basement.
His brother fucking you.
The thought making him breathless with anger before realizing Tommy was calling his name.
“Joel! You listening?!”
“What?” He snapped looking over at him, the look in his eyes weirding out Tommy. It was rare when he saw his brother angry to this extent, yet he didn’t understand what was triggering it.
“Nothin’” Tommy uttered before turning back to the road as Joel pressed his foot on the gas and continued driving.
Little did he know, you and Tommy hadn’t slept with each other that night. Instead you cuddled watching a movie and ended up falling asleep in his arms. The guilt still eating at you as you continued to think over and over what Joel admitted to you the night before.
After all this time.
After all this fucking time.
Now when you were giving his brother a chance, now when you were getting to know the sweet charming man his brother was, Joel admitted something to you that you would’ve killed to know earlier.
It didn’t matter, it didn’t change anything. Joel forgot about any history the two of you had when Sarah’s mother showed up. He forgot how much the two of you had in common, how twice for Sarah’s birthday you baked her a cake when Joel called that he would be running late from work. Hell, how you baked him a cake and helped Sarah surprise him with a gift. He forgot about it all…
“It’s Friday night brother, how about a double date with your lady and mine at the bar?” Tommy hesitantly approached his brother at work hoping he’d be in a better mood.
“No, uh, I don’t want Sarah alone and-“
“I’ll call the sitter and set it all up, come on, it’ll be fun. Cheer up a bit” Joel remained silent giving in to the plan.
That night you wore a brown milkmaid dress with a pair of heels you forgot you even owned. You were excited to spend time with Tommy while also secretly excited to get a rise out of Joel. Maybe you were being immature but the more you thought of how he treated you that very day he cut ties, it all made sense to you.
Meeting them at the front of their house you walked out of your door looking out to see if they were there. Joel being the first one to look up spotted you walking in their direction, his eyes drifting down to your body, noticing just how well the dress complimented you.
“Jesus-“ he whispered to himself before quickly looking away. How the fuck was he suppose to ignore you all night?
“Tommy” you poked a finger at his back making him quickly turn and immediately get taken back by how you looked.
“Look at you, you look gorgeous, baby” you smiled before all four of you got in the truck.
Sitting in the back with Tommy, Joel was given the perfect view of you through his rear view mirror. You could feel his eyes on you while Tommy looked out the window, Sarah’s mother complaining about things she had to do for her daughter, Joel was over it ignoring her. Tommy unexpectedly turned around and kissed you making you smile, Joel bit the inside of his cheek and looked away.
Once getting to the bar, Tommy was quick to order more drinks which you were more than excited to try to relieve the bit of anxiety you felt. The night continued and you found yourself drinking more than you had planned yet you felt just right.
“You wanna take another shot?” Tommy leaned over to you with the drink in his hand.
“Sure” you laughed before the two of you took the shot together.
“Oh that one was strong” you made a sour face as Joel watched with furrowed brows. Joel had never seen you drink that much before. Apart of him wondering if you were doing it on purpose just to get under his skin. Whatever you were doing, it was working.
“We should dance” you excitedly turned to Tommy who bit his lip with excitement and got up with you to the dance floor.
“What the hell are we even doing here?”
Sarah’s mother complained while Joels eyes subtly followed you.
“I came to have a drink” He responded without turning to her.
“And you have to figure out something with your daughter cause I’m not gonna be taking her to school everyday” Joel raised a brow as she sucked her teeth. She wanted nothing to do with being a mother. All he heard her do was complain about any little thing she had to do for Sarah.
“Did you hear me, Joel?”
“You can leave if you want, what the hell was the point of you comin’ back?” he responded bluntly before chugging his drink not caring the way Sarah’s mother felt.
He had enough. He knew she wasn’t for him, he knew too late in time that she wasn’t right for Sarah. Angrily she got up and grabbed her bag leaving the bar. Joel watched as you danced with Tommy, your arms wrapped around him, his hands running down your waist. Joel brushed his hand over his lips and looked away, the sight was too much to bare. After a few minutes he could hear the sound of your laughter coming closer before he looked up.
“That was fun” you sighed as you slid into the booth.
“Hey where’s your lady?” Tommy asked as he sat beside you. Joel simply shrugged and took another sip of his drink.
“That’s done” his words making you look up at him. For some reason hearing he was no longer with Sarah’s mother bought you some kind of happiness.
“Well forget her, I never liked her for you anyway” Tommy responded before he took a shot. Just as he did you and Joel looked at each other for a moment before you quickly looked away.
“Im gonna go get us some more drinks, I’ll be right back” Tommy leaned in towards you, before you could say anything he left you and Joel alone together. Uncomfortably you swallowed looking away as Joel stared you down, the jealousy in him rising the more he thought about what his brother had told him earlier. You staying the night with him the night before, Joel hated the thought of it.
“We should get going soon” you spoke casually trying to find something to speak of.
“Wouldn’t wanna keep you from another night with Tommy” he responded with sarcasm.
“What was that?” You raised a brow as he leaned forward.
“You and Tommy…ya know I ain’t surprised you already slept with him, that’s just what girls like you do. I guess Sarah’s mother was right about you after all” Joel letting his anger and drinking take over, allowing himself to insult you in a way he never had.
“Excuse me? Girls like me?” Was he calling you a whore? Before you could respond Tommy showed up beside you making you quickly look away.
“One more drink before we go” Tommy smiled looking down at you.
“Yes…but I need to use the restroom” you quickly stood up almost stumbling as Tommy caught you by your waist.
“You alright?”
Joel almost stood up for a split second to help you before catching himself. Even through the anger he couldn’t help his immediate response.
“Yes….I’ll be right back” you quickly made your way to the bathroom as Joel glanced at you with the corner of his eye watching as you hid your face.
“I hope she invites me back to her place again tonight” Tommy grinned.
“Im sure you’ll get lucky again, don’t worry” Joel uttered low.
“I didn’t get lucky last night,-“ Joel quickly looked up not expecting what he was told.
“She doesn’t move like that, it ain’t what I’m used to but I like it. It’ll happen when it’s suppose to”
A part of him relieved to know nothing had ever happened while the other half of him feeling like a dick for what he said to you. He knew he fucked up, his jealousy getting the best of him, he regretted what he had said. You stepped out of the restroom looking at Joel from where you were. You couldn’t believe the audacity he had to speak to you in such a way, you knew you didn’t deserve it.
“We should get going” you showed up to the table making both men look up.
“What’s a matter, don’t want your drink first?” Tommy pushed the shot towards you.
“No…I’ve had enough” Tommy shrugged and took the shot before he stood up and walked out with you with Joel right behind. Joel’s eyes following Tommy’s hand move lower and lower down your back.
He couldn’t fucking stand it.
The three of you too intoxicated to drive you took a cab as Tommy assured his brother he’d pick up the truck in the morning.
Sitting in the back of the cab next to Tommy you looked out the window thinking about what Joel had said to you until Tommy’s voice distracted you.
“You wanna stay with me tonight?” Tommy’s question making his brother look up into the rear view mirror from the passenger seat. The thought of seeing any more of Joel in that moment only irritated you but you knew him seeing you with Tommy would bother him more and so you agreed to stay over.
Once you all walked inside you quietly sat on the couch with Tommy and watched some tv. Joel ate in the kitchen attempting to sober himself up and slowly he did. Silently watching you two as you both were distracted with the tv when the phone rang making you look up.
“I gotta pick up Sarah!” Joel called out as he hung up the phone.
“Ain’t she sleepin’ over her friends?” Tommy asked.
“That’s what I thought- I’ll be right back” you watched as he walked out and slammed the door as you stood quietly until Tommy turned to you.
“You feel ok?” He asked caressing the side of your face. You nodded just as he grabbed your face and began to kiss you. Yet, somehow you still managed to think of what Joel had said to you. It didn’t sound like him at all. The anger towards him driving you to wrap your arms around Tommy eagerly . His hands touching every part of you he could grab as he kissed your neck and began to undress you.
Joel drove tensely not liking that he left you two alone, not liking that he hadn’t apologized for what he said. His mind racing when Sarah once again called him and told him she didn’t need to be picked up. With a sigh he turned back around and headed home.
By the time Joel returned he noticed the lights were out and no one was in the living room. He walked towards the kitchen when the sound of your sudden moan made him stop in his tracks. Joel froze in place as another moan echoed from down the hall. It wasn’t the first time he overheard his brother sleeping with a woman but this time it wasn’t just any woman…it was you. Angrily he grabbed the bottle of whiskey off the counter and began to drink it. A rage he never felt before settling within him when there was a sudden silence.
Tommy gave you a pair of shorts and a t shirt of his as you stood aside watching him put on a shirt. You couldn’t believe you just had sex with him, having sex with him out of pure anger against Joel. It didn’t feel right.
“I’m gonna go use the restroom” you spoke low as he finished cleaning up before you quietly walked out.
Just as you closed the door behind you, you looked up to find Joel standing by the kitchen. You gasped in shock as he took a step forward, you noticed a half empty bottle of whiskey in his hand.
“I…I didn’t know you were here” you whispered as he looked down at you. The sight of you wearing his brothers t shirt, your bare legs in his view. He didn’t say a word but the silence was very loud. Pure pain in his eyes he took another chug of his drink, the sounds of your moans still echoing in his mind before he abruptly walked away and slammed the door loudly making you jump. Anxiously, you ran to the bathroom with tears in your eyes. You didn’t understand why you felt this way, you were suppose to be angry with him, he was the one who did wrong, not you.
“I’m so fucking stupid” you whispered to yourself just as you heard Tommy come out of the room. Trying to compose yourself you washed your face and freshened yourself up before walking back out. Not wanting to run into him again you quickly went back to the room and lay in bed.
The next morning you dreaded leaving the room, afraid to find Joel in the living room. Tommy nudged you playfully as you got dressed before kissing your cheek.
“What’s wrong?” He asked pulling you against him.
“Nothing, just tired”
“Yeah, we got in pretty late. Come on, let’s go” he took you by the hand as you took a deep breath and followed him out.
There was Joel sitting at the head of the table having breakfast when he looked up at you both, adjusting himself in his seat.
“Where’s Sarah?” Tommy asked.
“Gonna pick her up in the evening” Joel uttered low without looking at his brother. He couldn’t bare to look him in the eye, not yet.
“Ain’t you late for work” Joel took a sip from his cup as Tommy raised a brow.
“It’s Sunday- oh shit!” Tommy went running through the living room grabbing his bag.
“I forgot I told those two guys I’d meet with them today, and I gotta get the truck- fuck!” You watched as he paced around the house before grabbing his keys and going for the door.
“Tommy?” You screamed out confused.
“I’m sorry baby, it’s a big contract, have some breakfast I’ll call you as soon as I’m done”
“But Tommy-“ the door slammed leaving you and Joel alone together. Awkwardly you stood as he looked down at his paper, his broad shoulders rose high with each deep breath. He looked pissed, you didn’t know what to say.
His knee jumping under the table the more he thought about it before you finally decided to say something.
“You know, it’s not fair for you to act this way” you hesitantly spoke as he suddenly stood up grabbing his plate without looking your way and walked to the kitchen.
The loud sound of his the dishes hitting the sink making you jump before he turned to you.
“It’s not fair?” He spoke low as he walked towards you making you step back.
“I had to hear my brother fucking you last night in my own house, your moans so god damn loud I heard it the second I walked through the door” he continued walking towards you until he backed you against the wall.
“Well-“ you took a deep breath not expecting him to have been so blunt.
“You did say it was easily expected of me…you know girls like me?” Joel regretted saying that to you knowing damn well he didn’t feel that way about you.
“I know he never slept with you before last night, he told me”
“Oh great, so now that he did I guess he will report that to you and brag about it-“
“Did he make you cum?” His sudden question catching you off guard. His eyes darkened as he waited for your response.
“Joel-“
“Did he? Did he give you what you were lookin’ for?” You were speechless, your lips parting yet you couldn’t make a sound. Joel didnt take his eyes off you, his heart pounding hard in his chest.
“I’m not having this conversation with you-“
“Tell me, or are you afraid-“
“What the hell would I be afraid of?!” You yelled back just as he roughly pulled you against him and kissed you muffling your shocked whimper. His hand brushing up the back of your head grabbing a hand full of hair, pulling at it as you smacked his chest before he pulled his lips away. Still, he held you close forcing you to look up at him as he tugged at your hair. As much as you looked like you were trying to stop him, you wanted him to do anything but stop.
“What are you doing?” You whispered as he looked down at you. Joel knew right there he needed to have you, he needed to feel you with whatever time he had alone with you. Carrying you on top of the closest thing near by, he sat you on the edge of his desk and quickly began unbuttoning his pants with one hand. You didn’t stop him, wanting it just as much as him you pulled your dress up above your thighs watching as he pulled out his hard member.
He was ready for you, panting you quickly pulled down your underwear and let it fall to the floor. Joel placed himself between your legs and spit in his hand, his eyes looking into yours as you felt his fingers touch you and make sure you were ready for him. Placing his cock at your entrance he slid himself in you as you both breathed into each other’s lips. He wasted no time in moving at a steady pace pushing himself as deep as you’d take him. Grabbing onto him you kissed him passionately, moaning against his lips wanting to feel every part of him. Throwing your head back you moaned as a wave of pleasure burst within you. He kissed your neck moving his mouth slowly up against your ear.
“This is mine, you hear me?” He spoke breathlessly as he continued to fuck you. His cock filling you up more than his brothers had, stretching you with each thrust. Unexpectedly he carried you off the table, taking you to the couch. He sat down with his hands on your hips as you took over and began to ride him.
“Oh shit baby…just like that” he squeezed your ass as you moaned bouncing on him when you suddenly heard the truck pull up in the driveway.
“Oh my God Joel-“ you froze.
“No don’t stop” he slouched down on the couch and began thrusting upward.
“Joel- he’s there-“ you panted but Joel wouldn’t stop. His eyes squeezing shut as he bounced you on his cock and came inside you. Joel cried out deeply, holding you in place as his pelvis jerked beneath you.
“Oh my god” you whispered looking down at Joel, your hands on his chest balancing yourself when you heard the car door open.
“He’s coming!” Quickly jumping off Joel you ran to the bathroom as he struggled to get up catching his breath.
“Tell him I left!” You screamed from the bathroom hoping Tommy would leave fast. Joel quickly dressed himself wiping himself wit paper towels noticing how drenched in sweat he was.
“Shit” he whispered before noticing your underwear still on the floor. Quickly Joel picked it up and put it in his pocket just as the door unlocked and Tommy walked in.
“I forgot the damn paperwork” he rushed inside not even taking a look at Joel. Rushing past him, Tommy grabbed the folders off the very desk he had just finished fucking you on.
Tommy so distracted with being late to the meeting it slipped his mind to ask about where you were and he simply left. Joel waited for the truck to pull out and called for you.
“He’s gone!”
Hesitantly you came out of the bathroom still in shock with what had just happened.
“I have to go” you awkwardly tried to walk past him until he caught you by your arm slowly pulling you to him.
“Ya don’t have to-“
“No” you pushed him away.
“Why the hell did we just do that?! Tommy doesn’t deserve that”
Joel looked down at you not knowing what to say as he knew you were right.
“I guess you were right after all” you chuckled sarcastically.
“About what?” He looked down at you confused.
“Girls like me right, now I really am a whore-“
“Don’t say that” he pulled you against him hard.
“You know damn well I ain’t mean it when I said that” he whispered.
“Doesn’t matter, cause it’s true. And…and-“
“What?”
“I have to get a morning after pill now”
“I’ll get it for ya”
“No! Just leave it. Look I gotta go” you pulled your arm back and quickly ran out to your home next door.
Your thoughts running a mile a minute you rushed inside and locked your door. Heading straight for the shower you let your dress fall to the floor as you began to cry in guilt…in confusion. Never had you felt like such a shitty human being.
That same day you ran some errands and noticed Tommy had left you a couple messages. Of course, talking about the night before, telling you how he wanted you even more. His messages making you sick to your stomach you didn’t respond.
Out at the pharmacy you picked up a plan B rushing home hoping you wouldn’t run into Tommy or Joel. With your luck, just as you pulled up Tommy was right outside.
“Hey babe,” he walked up to you as you got out of the car.
“You alright? I called you a few times”
“Yeah sorry I just-“ you dropped your bag on the floor making the after pill come out of the bag. Tommy furrowed his brows as he picked it up from the ground and suddenly chuckled.
“Baby, we were careful. We used a condom, I don’t think you need to take this” your skin hot from anxiety you awkwardly took back the pill.
“Yeah…I just…I’m sometimes paranoid and I-“
“Alright, it’s ok. I understand” Tommy smiled making you feel ever shittier. Why would he expect you were taking the pill because his brother had just came in you. You smiled and began to walk to your door as he followed.
“Why don’t you come join us for dinner-“
“I don’t think I can” you responded anxiously trying to unlock your door as fast as you could.
“Please baby, I really enjoy spending time with you” he left you speechless. What the hell else could you possibly say?
“Sure” you whispered. Tommy happily leaned in and kissed you before walking back to his house.
Tommy walked in to his brother fixing something beneath the sink for the third time that week.
“I tell ya, I’ve grown tired of fixing this damn thing” Joel lay on the floor as Tommy laughed.
“Well maybe you’re not even fixing it, that’s why it’s always broken” Tommy teased.
“Haha. Hey do me a favor, the laundry’s been sitting in the washer for twenty minutes now, mind puttin’ em in the dryer for me?”
“Yeah sure” Tommy went on to walk to the laundry room as he informed his brother that you would be coming for dinner.
“You ok with y/n comin’ for dinner again right?” Joel froze and cleared his throat.
“She’s comin’?” He asked surprised that you didn’t find an excuse to not show up.
“Yeah,” Tommy began moving the wet clothes into the dryer when he noticed something sticking out of his brother’s pocket.
“Well, alright but I ain’t cookin’” Joel responded as Tommy grabbed Joel’s pants and pulled out the black material that was sticking out only to see it was the same underwear you had on the night before.
Tommy didn’t move, in disbelief he stared down at the underwear not knowing what to even think.
It couldn’t have been…at least he hoped not.
But what other explanation would there be for this?
“Tommy you hear me?” He suddenly realized his brother was still talking in the background and quickly put the underwear away in his pocket.
“Yeah, yeah I hear you” he called back out to him. Tommy had no idea how he was going to deal with the situation but he decided to first move in silence and see how the evening was going to go with you around Joel…you had no idea what was in store….

First Date
Pairing: Charles Leclerc x Hispanic/Latina Single Mom! Reader
Summary: Charles decides to take Y/N and Vidia out for dinner to celebrate his podium in the Canadian Grand Prix
Warning: spelling and grammatical errors
A/N: so @barcelonaloverf1life commented say that they wanted more parts to “meet and greet” so I was thinking of writing a collection of one-shots that fit in the fanfic universe of Charles dating a single mom if you’re interested
Vidia and Y/N we’re in the hospitality waiting for Charles outside his driver’s room. He came out wearing jeans and a button down shirt.
“Oh, do I look okay for wherever you’re taking us?” Y/N asked.
“Yes, you look great. And so do you Vidia, can’t forget about the little princess. We could just go to a diner.” Charles suggested
“Don’t you have a diet to stick to?” Y/N asked
“They have salads there.” Charles said.
“But you NEED to try a milkshake.” Vidia said, tugging on Charles pants.
“I most certainly will try a vanilla milkshake.” Charles told vidia. They walked to the car that Charles rented. “Now I’m glad I rented a 4 person car.”
“Quick question, are you sure your team principal will be okay with you going out tonight?” Y/N asked.
“As long I make it on time for practice 3 and qualifying tomorrow, I’m sure everything will be fine.” Charles said. He unlocked the door, opening the back door to help Vidia get in, closed it, and opening the passenger door for Y/N to get it.
“Always the gentleman.” Y/N commented and Charles smiled, closing the passenger door and walking around to get to the driver’s side. “Where are we going?”
“NDG Lucheonette, been a few times before, I like the food.” Charles commented. Y/N texted her dad saying that her and vidia were going out to eat, Vidia took a nap on the car, 45 minutes later, they made it to the diner. Charles opened the door for Y/N and she went to wake up Vidia.
“Princesa, we’re here, let’s go.” Y/N said and Vidia nodded, unbuckling her seatbelt and getting out of the car. Y/N held her hand as they entered the diner.
“Hello, table for three please.” Charles said and the hostess led them to their table. “So, Y/N, what do you do?”
“Oh I’m a baker.” Y/N said.
“Mami owns a bakery.” Vidia said.
“Really? How’s it like?” Charles asks
“You have to wake up early in order to bake, we provide pan dulce too, you know, like bread to eat with your coffee or hot chocolate.” Y/N explains.
“Conchas with hot chocolate is the best.” Vidia said “Mami has a lot of customers, she makes birthday cakes too.”
“Oh wow, you are a very accomplished baker indeed.” Charles said.
“I’m the best in my city.” Y/N said,
“I should stop by your bakery whenever I’m in New York.” Charles said.
“That would be great.” Y/N said, the waitress came and took their orders.
“And you vidia, what do you do?” Charles asked. Y/N loves that Charles is also engaging with her daughter.
“I’m in school, I watch tv, color, play with friends.” Vidia started.
“And when we get back to New York, you have to start the reading list the school gave you.” Y/N said.
“I Don’t like school.” Vidia grumbled and Charles laughed lightly.
“I didn’t like school either, but reading makes you smart like Matilda.” Charles said.
“Who’s Matilda?” Vidia asked and Charles looked at Y/N shocked,
“Yeah, she hasn’t seen the movie yet.” Y/N commented.
“Matilda is a little girl who reads a lot of books, is very smart, and gains the power to move things with her mind.” Charles explained and Vidia’s eyes widened.
“I want to move things with my mind!” Vidia exclaimed.
“Then I guess you need to read when we’re back home.” Y/N said. The milkshakes came first and then the food. The date went well, they were talking, Charles paid, but unbeknownst to everyone, there were F1 fans at the diner who recorded them together. They got into the car.
“I had a great time.” Charles said.
“Me too. By the way, congratulations on Monaco, can’t believe I haven’t said anything about it.” Y/N said.
“Thank you, you saw the race?” Charles asked.
“Of course.” Y/N said.
“Mami was crying.” Vidia commented.
“Did you really?” Charles asked.
“It was your first home race win, of course I was going to cry, all of Ferrari cried.” Y/N said.
“Well thank you, where’s your hotel?” Charles asked.
“I’ll just type it in,” Y/N said and she did just that. The drive was kinda quiet, just Charles’s playlist in the background until he made it to the front of her hotel.
“I hope it’s not too forward of me to ask for your number.” Charles said.
“Well you met my daughter and took us out on a date, asking for my number is definitely not too forward.” Y/N said, Charles unlocked his phone so Y/N could type in her number.
“Thank you, I’ll see you two tomorrow, call me in the morning so I can give you paddock passes.” Charles said.
“I will hold you to it. Vidia, mi amor, let’s go, we’re here.” Y/N said, getting out of the car while Vidia stirs awake. Y/N carried Vidia out of the car. “Text me, Charles, don’t make me regret giving you my number,”
“You won’t regret it, I swear.” Charles said, Y/N carries Vidia to the hotel room and her dad is awake watching TV.
“Como les fue?” Y/N’s dad asked. How’d it go
“Nos fue bien, Vidia est muy cansada la pobre.” Y/N said, laying vidia down in the bed. It went well, vidia is really tired, poor thing
“Me trajeron algo?” Did you bring me anything?
“No papi, lo siento.” Y/N said. She felt her phone vibrate and it was a text. Sorry
Unknown number: Hello Y/N, it’s Charles, hope you and Vidia have a good night.
Y/N smiles at her phone and replied back to him.
Y/N: Hello Charles, we hope you have a good night too. You need to be well rested if you’re going to be in pole again
Both Charles and Y/N went to sleep knowing that there might be a new relationship brewing.
The End
Hope y’all liked it, I’m sorry if it seems a little rushed

“Dallas Winston why is there a cigarette lit inside my house?” you ask as you walk into the living room. “I’m puttin out, I’m puttin it out” he mutters as he stubs the cigarette on the ashtray on the coffee table. “Y’know, I don’t even know why you have this thing if you and Darry are so anti-smokes” he says, you roll your eyes “you just used it, didn’t you?” You ask incredulously, smile playing on your lips. “Yea yea” he mutters
⋆ The gang calls you and Darry, Mom and Dad
⋆ Darry claims not to like it
⋆ Secretly he’d be so sad if they stopped
⋆ Let me just reiterate that this man ADORES YOU.
⋆ He gets home from work and immediately asks you about your day, won’t tell you about his until you atleast say “it was good”
⋆ If you say it’s bad he offers to let you talk about it
⋆ Most nights consist of you massaging his back and shoulders while you two talk about your day
“Well I delivered a pie to this older woman over on the East Side and she was just the sweetest thing! Oh she was lovely Darrel, and her husband too? Gosh they were just the kindest souls” you giggle as you ramble on about your day. “That oughta be us someday, yea?” He hums, turning around from where he’d been leaned against your chest to kiss your cheek. “I think that could be arranged”
⋆ Also, you call him Darrel and he loves it
⋆ Don’t get me wrong, you also give him a billion nicknames, along with his preexisting ones
⋆ But the way his name sounds from your lips just drives him nuts
⋆ Also the boys love you
⋆ Not just Pony and Soda, but the whole gang
⋆ You, rather quickly, took on a motherly roll
“Those better not be work boots on my freshly mopped floor” you call over your shoulder as you hear Soda and Steve come inside, two quick “Sorry!”’s sound from the living room as they turn back around to put the boots on the porch
⋆ You bake Darry (and all the boys) a cake for his birthday.
⋆ Not just the regular chocolate cake he’s been making constantly his whole life. But a nice, double layered, decorated, dream. It took you all day.
⋆ He cries.
⋆ Darry refuses to let you help more than absolutely needed for bills so you buy things for him and the boys
⋆ You buy Pony some nice, new, good condition books, and that boy decides that if Darry ever breaks up with you he’s running away
⋆ Yea no, Soda and Pony are on your side in any and every argument
⋆ Not that you and Darry fight often
⋆ Maybe once every couple months, but you never go to bed angry.
⋆ The day he realizes he’s in love with you is when he came home from work to both his brothers asleep on the couch next to you, and you folding laundry
“Now what’s all this?” He smiles, coming over to kiss your forehead. “They had rough days” you tell him. “So you’re babysitting?” He asks, you playfully glare at him. “It’s not babysitting, it’s comforting” you say, he just hums. “And laundry is a part of comforting?”. You roll your eyes, carefully getting off the sofa. You walk over and put your arms over his shoulders. “Will you ever just let me help around here without telling me I dont have too?” You hum, he shakes his head, leaning down to kiss you. “Dar’. I like helpin’” you say softly, he smiles against your cheek, where he’s pressing small kisses “I know you do. You’re so amazing. So so so amazing”
⋆ He just adores having someone like you around
⋆ Swears up and down no one as great as you has or will ever exist
⋆ Your kinnda known around Tulsa as the “sweet baker girl” so people leave you alone
⋆ The gang jokes that you’re the joining force between Socs and Greasers
⋆ But on the off chance someone does mess with you?
⋆ Darry raises hell
⋆ And if you’re physically hurt?
⋆ He basically puts you on home lockdown because he does not want you to see the side of him that whoever hurt you is about to see
⋆ On a less violent note!
⋆ He always makes sure you have fresh flowers
⋆ No matter what.
⋆ Even if it means picking some from some garden. He makes damn sure you have fresh flowers

Pancakes Household: Chapter 8, Part 3
In this part Bob works on increasing his fame despite being a loner, but mainly it is Iggy's party! Time to join the teen world. The rolled traits/aspiration are set to be... a ride (I didn't mean that as a pun, but when you read you'll understand it kind of works as a pun).
For clarity Bob's nickname for Eliza is Jumble, and Eliza's nickname for Bob is Sleek. I'll try to capitalise them when they're being used as names to make any translations easier.
Harvey: We better head home, mum will have finished her next art piece by now
Carson: Thanks for having us Mrs Pancakes
Eliza: You’re welcome. Iggy dear, before you run off can you help clean up?
Iggy: Fine. But I’m still rebelling
Eliza: Whatever you say
Fergus: Ginger all you have to do it lie down, you do it all the time, just lie down
Ginger: *barks* kid is treating me like an idiot
Everyone else has contributed to laundry duty today except Bob so it’s up to him to hang it all up. He then works on a blue confetti cake for Iggy’s party tomorrow, never sure why birthday cakes don’t improve his baking skill. He had elected to take the day ff work but having done everything he wanted to do at home 2 hours into his shift he decides to head to work anyway, got to impress the bosses.
On his last night as a child Iggy spends some time on the tiny violin while Fergus, outside the gaze of his parents, dominates his homework. He may be rebelling but as a grade A student he does like to do it. Eliza can finally make some business calls, the opportunities always pop up at the most bizarre times. Since she’s still very dazed it doesn’t go well, and she takes Bob’s advice to lie down.
Bob: Shift was crazy. I-
Eliza: I’m awake! I’m awake
Bob: *chuckles* sure you are
Eliza: What were you saying Sleek?
Bob: That critic came back so instead of the mac and cheese I did the lobster dish. He approved but I know he was wanting more cheese
Eliza: Did you bring me leftovers
Bob: Not today. Let’s go to sleep
Eliza: But woohoo! I like woohoo!
Bob: Jumble you’re still smoking, and sound exhausted. I know you’ll want to be awake for the party tomorrow. You need sleep
Eliza: *sighs* Spoilsport
Bob: Happy birthday!
Iggy: Thanks dad. Are you sure I can’t just age up now
Bob: If you do that you can’t go to school today
Iggy: Exactly!
Eliza: No one is missing school. And no one is missing their own birthday party
Fergus: Remember, if you don’t like any of your presents, I’ll take them
Eliza: Will you take today off work
Bob: No, I’ll have time to party before my shift. How about you
Eliza: I need to take the day or I’ll miss the party
Bob and Eliza both feel the need to exercise, they are active sims after all. While Bob volunteers to brave the rain to take Ginger for a jog, Eliza, who is not a fan of getting rained on, uses the exercise machine on the deck. Afterwards she’s pleased to discover her husband hung the washing up properly and takes down the now dry laundry.
Bob: Hello followers. Today we will be doing some lobster. First step, as always, prep. Prep your workspace, prep your ingredients, prep your cooking attitude!
The drone beeps that more viewers have tuned in.
Bob: Now lobster is expensive, not all of us can afford it. We’re lucky that here in Brindleton Bay there’s a fresh supply at a reasonable price. Next time we’ll look at how to get the best flavour for your fish, no matter how fancy, so be sure to tune in!
Bob: Remember guys, putting the dish in the oven is not like reaching the end of a book. You can always take the meal out as it cooks to add more flavour, and that’s exactly what we’re going to do!
The drone beeps to show Bob has gained more followers.
Bob: Thanks for subscribing everyone. Believe me I’m doing much better than if you were here in person. And at long last, our meal! Sparkling with excellence. But we’re still not at the end of the book guys! Final step, as my wife often tells me, is to clean up! If you’re like me, you hate it, but it’s important to keep your kitchen sanitised.
Eliza: Great stream jumble, I kept the computer open to it while Aaron was helping me with my debating
Bob: Please tell me it was on mute
Aaron: You’re better than you give yourself credit for Bob
Bob: I wouldn’t do it if I didn’t need the fame for promotion
Eliza: Charisma is always a beneficial skill
Bob: Don’t mind me, I’m going to start the next book
Aaron: You mentally prepared for your oldest to be a teenager
Eliza: Not even close
The kids get home and it looks like it’ll be an indoor party.
Iggy: Carson, take a picture with me before the height difference confuses the camera
Bob: Cake is up! Where’s the birthday kid?
Iggy: Right here dad
Eliza: Make a wish
Iggy thinks for a minute, then blows out the candles!
Iggy roles the ambitious traits from their parents, but since that can’t be applied as a teen, it’ll be the YA trait. So a reroll lands the horse lover trait, as well as the joke star aspiration despite a weakness for comedy. We have our third pansexual Pancakes and they also rolled being genderfluid. I’m going to do my best googling and rereading of Lumpinou’s LGBTQIA mod notes to hopefully represent them accurately.
The cake goes down a hit and the guests tuck in. Bob has to go to work but Iggy pulls him aside before he leaves.
Iggy: Before you go dad, I just want you to know…
Bob: Yes?
Iggy: I’ve been thinking, about myself and.. I’m pansexual
Bob: Awesome! Just like me and your mother
Iggy: Wait, you’re pan?
Bob: Yeah. Everyone always forgets because we’re in a straight presenting relationship, but we are. I got to head off but I love you buddy, thanks for opening up
Iggy watches their dad go and has mixed feeling about not having time to broach their gender.
Iggy returns to their party and mingles around their friends, trying to get as many selfies as they can to cement themselves as a teenager.
Iggy: I’m so excited to see what high school is like
Amie: Don’t be, it’s not very exciting
Angel: Well I like it
Iggy: Since I already became a llamacorn scout I’m thinking of joining the cheer squad
William: Not football
Iggy: So I can get hit in the face constantly? I don’t think so. Anyway, I’ll see you all tomorrow, okay?
Darwin: Sure thing, later Pancakes
With the party done Iggy heads to the study where Eliza helps them tackle their homework.
Iggy: But what do they mean? Since when is pie a chart
Eliza: Don’t worry, your dad would get stuck but I know all about that
They both stumble through it and Iggy sighs in relief when it’s done.
Eliza: Are you okay? You just aged up with high confidence but you seem downcast
Iggy: It’s just a lot to adjust to mother
Eliza: Want to tell me about it? Sometimes a problem seems less big if you get it out of your head
Iggy: Well I told dad before he left but, I’m pan. He said that was just like the two of you
Eliza: Oh you bet! I like a nice ass, no matter the identity of the person it belongs to
Iggy: OMW mother! It’s hard enough to go from not thinking about romance to suddenly having all these attraction thoughts without hearing about what you find attractive
Eliza: Sorry. I’m just glad you shared this with me. Come give me a hug son
Iggy leans in to her hug, but ultimately has to pull back.
Eliza: What is it?
Iggy: I’m not exactly your son
Eliza: Oh?
Iggy isn’t to sure what to say next but Eliza gives their hand a reassuring squeeze.
Iggy: I’ve realised I’m not a guy. At least, not all the time. I’m this thing called genderfluid, I don’t know if you know about it…
Eliza: If it’s part of you, I want to learn. I promise to listen
Iggy: Okay mother. So you know how most people will have a gender identity and stick to it? I don’t. Some days I’ll feel like your son, some days I’ll feel like your daughter, some days I’ll feel like I’m somewhere inbetween.
Eliza: Who are you today Iggy? Oh shoot, should I call you Iggy? I can change if you want me to
Iggy: *laughs* Hey mother, this is new for me to, we’re both bound to make mistakes. Today is very much a they/them day though
Eliza: Come here then my child
Iggy: *laughs* you sound silly
Eliza: Hey now, if it’s to make you feel happy and safe, I’ll sound as silly as… well, a thing that’s ridiculously silly
Iggy: Socks and jandals
Eliza: *laughs* As silly as socks and jandals
They hug and Iggy feels a weight lifted. They might just float to the roof if Eliza lets go.
Eliza: You may be on the cheer squad, but I’ll always be your biggest cheerleader okay? So will you dad
Iggy: About that, can you tell him? I don’t know how
Eliza: *sighs* I’m afraid you’re going to come out to people for the rest of your life. It’s a side effect of being in a mostly straight cis world. It can help to tell those that love you first, and your dad loves you. I will if you want me to but please consider telling him yourself, I know he’d appreciate it
Iggy: I guess I could practice by telling Fergus, and if that doesn’t blow up in my face I’ll tell dad in the morning
Eliza: That’s my brave- my brave kid. Come on
Fergus is in the lounge trying his best to build a fake volcano. Eliza and Iggy both settle down to help. The three chat and with time Iggy relaxes enough to talk properly to Fergus.
Iggy: Fergus, I got to tell you something. I’m not your brother today
Fergus: You’re not? Why? Did I annoy you too much? I tried to keep quiet at the party
Iggy: No, no. It’s not that. It’s just… I’m not a boy today
Fergus: Oh. Are you a girl then?
Iggy: No, I’m not really either today, and kind of both. But I’m still your sibling. They/them pronouns just feel more like me today
Fergus: Okay. Are you still Iggy
Iggy: I’m not sure. Definitely not when I’m a girl. Maybe I should come up with another name
Eliza: Whatever you choose, we’ll call you. Right Fergus?
Fergus: You bet. Now can we please get back to the lava?
What do you know, both the conversation and the volcano do not blow up in Iggy's face!
Iggy decides to do a workout before bed as they like fitness, but don’t feel like trying somersaults on their cheer mat before bed. Then they head upstairs to their touched up room. We have changed wall colour, as well as the bed and desk to reflect their like of the farmhouse deco style. The bookcase has also been moved to an easier to see position.
Bob: I’m back, let’s go to bed
Eliza: Gladly. But hey, your eldest child wants a chat with you tomorrow before school
Bob: Sounds ominous, I’m in

Happy Birthday Kara!!! I just wanted to let you know you’re in my thoughts and even though I’m not that much into Marvel anymore, your blog and your stories will forever hold a special place in my heart! You have a beautiful, kind soul and I wish I could do more to help you than just words, but I want you to know that there’s at least someone out there rooting for you! Life may suck now, but if anyone can pull through, I believe in you!!! I hope you have the best birthday, and I really truly care about you. You made an impact on me and a younger age, and those memories can still bring a smile to my face. Once again, happy birthday, someone loves you <3
Thank you so damn much my friend. Because you care so much about me, this is is the perfect way to share some very special information...
I HAD A SUPRISE BIRTHDAY PARTY!!!!
My friends, family, and neighbours came together to throw me a party 🥹
Katrina is the coordinator for the place I live, she works here Mon - Fri and looks after me and the oldies. It's supported housing, so elderly and disabled people can maintain their independence but still be safe.
Well Katrina was very upset that my birthday wasn't going to be celebrated and she pulled off the whole thing.
IT WAS AMAZING!!!
I was tricked over to the lounge by my dad and they all yelled suprise. There were even gifts! And my Uncle baked not one but two birthday cakes. My two friends from the village who came, brought their kids and the kids brought bubbles.
I really thought nobody cared and I've never been more happy to be proven wrong. It was the best day of my life, I'm not exaggerating at all, actual best day of my life. Its changed things for me, its changed my mindset.
Yes things still kinda suck, and I still have health issues and etc. But I can survive these things and I actually WANT to survive.
You guys on Tumblr care, some have given money, many have given love, all ate massively appreciated. You've made it possible for me to survive. Katrina, my friends, my dad and uncle and all my neighbours have made me feel supported irl.
Its just so damn amazing and I wanted to share it, and your ask seemed the right way to share the wonderful news!!

Happy birthday my love ~ H.H.
pairing: harry holland x reader
summary: it's your boyfriend's birthday
warnings: pregnancy, swearing
word count: 1,4k+
Happy birthday Harry and Sam!
It wasn’t another normal Tuesday, although it kind of felt like it. However it was not only valentine’s day but also your boyfriend Harry and his twin Sam’s 24th birthday. Harry was out of town as usual working with Tom so there wasn’t that much partying and celebrating besides facetime dinner with all of the Hollands, best friends and partners and maybe a facetime date with Harry later that night if you’ll be lucky.
You wanted to visit him but your shitty boss didn’t give you your well deserved week off so the best you could do was a video call and forcing Tom into giving Harry the gift you bought for him months before.
It really bugged you that you couldn’t be with Harry on such a special day but it was beyond your powers, so you decided to do anything you could to make his day at least enjoyable.
You called him first thing in the morning with wishes and spent around two hours just talking and catching up on the last few days when you weren’t exactly able to talk that much because of Harry’s busy schedule.
‘I really wish I could be there with you, I’m sorry I didn’t make it babe.’
‘It’s not your fault love, we’re gonna make it up when I'm back.’
His smile wasn’t the brightest but you still could see the sparkles in his eyes. It made you both happy and sad, you really missed your baby.
‘I really hope you’re gonna have fun with Tom today, and don’t forget about the facetime dinner with all of us, your mum and dad really look forward to it.’
‘Yeah, I remember, look I gotta go now, we’re gonna talk later right?’
‘Of course, have fun tonight. I love you.’
‘I know, I love you too. See you at dinner’
Before you could say anything the line went silent. Harry’s voice stayed with you for the whole day. Why did he say ‘see you at dinner’? Did he mean over the phone or was it just a misspoke? Either way you spent your day helping Nikki with the dinner and getting ready. Harry wasn’t going to be there but you still wanted to be dressed nicely for the occasion.
Right before the dinner you heard a doorbell. Everyone stopped in their tracks because you haven’t expected anyone else besides Harrison and Grace and Sam’s girlfriend, Clark who were already at your place.
You went to the door with the feeling it’s just your neighbor who needed to borrow some sugar. You opened the door and indeed saw your neighbor Milly.
‘You need to borrow some more sugar?’
She looked embarrassed. The thing about her was that she baked when her anxiety was kicking in and always forgot to buy extra pack of sugar or any other sweetener.
‘If you don’t mind’
‘No, of course not, let me just grab it real quick.’
You came to the kitchen and saw the hope in everyone’s eyes. You felt terrible to crush it.
‘My neighbor needs some sugar.’
You saw the sadness filling the room.
‘Hey, maybe try to call them already, I’ll be back in a minute.’
Sam took his phone out and you went towards the door.
‘Here’s the su-’
‘Hi darling.’
And here outside of your door stood not only Milly but also Tom and your beloved boyfriend.
‘OH MY GOD’
You flung towards him and hugged him tightly.
‘You’re here, your family is going to be so happy. C’mon guys.’
You greeted Tom and rushed them into the living room. You heard happy screams and your heart swelled. He was home for his birthday with his family, it was all you wanted since the beginning. Your eyes filled with happy tears.
You handed Milly the pack.
‘Let me know if the cake turns out good.’
‘You got it. And have fun!’
When you entered the kitchen to finish cooking you sighed deeply. For some reason your mind went into panic mode. Your second present for Harry was still in your bottom drawer waiting for the right time but now the closer it got, the more nervous you were.
You heard footsteps and felt someone’s presence behind you. You turned around just to peek at whoever came in.
‘Tom. Why aren’t you with your fam?’
‘Wanted to talk to you.’
‘Oh.’
‘Are you okay?’
‘Yeah, everything’s fine, I’m just slightly nervous about the dinner.’
‘I’m not talking about this. You know what I mean. When do you want to tell him? When it’s out there?’
‘Cut it, Holland. It’s none of your business.’
‘Of course it is. It’s my brother and you’re like a sister to me. I’m just looking after you all’
‘I’m not ready, okay? It's a big thing, I don’t want to throw it on him on his birthday especially now that he’s so stressed with work.’
‘Do you really think that you will find a better time? There’s not gonna be the perfect one. Just think about it.’
He squeezed your shoulder and came back to the living room. You finished at the kitchen and brought all of the food to the table.
‘Come on, let’s eat.’
The dinner was really nice, talking, joking, telling stories about the twins when they were kids, catching up. You remained quiet most of the time enjoying the happiness of your loved ones. Yet the closer it’s been getting to the moment you stay alone with Harry, the more stressed you’ve become.
Around midnight all of your guests started to head out. You bid your farewell and went back inside to clean up a mess after the dinner. After a few minutes you heard Harry entering the kitchen. You were doing the dishes when he came behind you and wrapped his hands around your tummy.
‘Hi darling.’
‘Hi.’
‘C’mon. Let’s go to bed. It’s been a long day for both of us.’
‘I can’t, I need to clean this up.’
‘No no no no. WE can’t clean this up tomorrow after we spend our well deserved time together.’
‘Technically it’s already tomorrow, baby.’
‘Imma force you to come with me if you won’t do that voluntarily.’
He squeezed you harder and tried to lift you but you stopped him.
‘Don’t do that.’
‘Why? What’s wrong?’
‘Nothing, just please don’t.’
‘Okay, love. Can we go to bed now?’
You nodded and followed him into your room. You both got ready to bed and got under the duvet. You were lying on your back and Harry was on his side playing with your hair. There were a few minutes of silence between you two when he spoke up.
‘Is everything alright love? You’ve been quite distant today. Are you sure you’re okay?’
‘Yeah I just… I’ve got you a present.’
He smiled adorably at you.
‘You know you didn’t have to, right?’
‘I do but you mean so much to me and deserve a world. Happy birthday and I love you.’
‘I love you too. C'mere.’
He sat you on his lap while opening the box. It was just a camera equipment you knew he wanted and you saw the pure adoration of his eyes when he looked up at you.
‘Thank you, my love.’
He leaned in and kissed you gently but soon the kiss started to be way more passionate. His hands roamed around your body settling them on your waist under your (his) shirt. You pushed his lips out of your neck. He looked at you with concern.
‘I’ve got something else for you.’
You reached for a small box in your drawer and handed it to him.
‘What’s that?’
‘Just open it.’
He did as you told and opened the box. Inside was a positive pregnancy test. Your positive pregnancy test. His face was blank and you couldn’t read any emotions which made you even more nervous.
‘Is this real or is this just a prank?’
‘It’s real.’
Silence.
‘Look if you don’t want this you don’t have to stick around, I know it’s shitty timing but I figured you at least deserve to know.’
Silence.
You were terrified. You’d rather prefer him to get mad and yell at you than the silence and uncertainty what next.
‘Y/N’
You looked at him.
‘I want this. With you. I love you and I’m not giving up on neither of you.’
Your eyes filled with tears.
‘Hey, don’t cry, baby. It’s okay, come here.’
He held you close while you silently talked about your pregnancy. Some time after you both lied down. Harry spooned you and kept his hand on your still flat stomach.
‘I’m scared Harry.’
‘I know. I’m scared too. But it’s okay, we’ll figure it out. Seriously, we’ll be fine. Get some sleep, sweetheart, it’s been one hell of a day huh?’
‘Yeah. Good night, baby.’
He kissed the back of your head.
‘Night, love’

Daughter of the Sea
Chapter Fourteen: Happy Birthday to Me (And Percy)
(Read on AO3 here)
Two days after the reunion, it was Percy and I’s birthday. He said he never advertised the date much, since it fell right after Camp and he didn’t have many mortal friends, but he said mom had planned a small party to celebrate. As far as I was concerned, that sounded perfect. My adopted mom would be flying into the city in a few days, and Sally was making a blue, two-tiered cake with blue frosting. I was the happiest girl alive.
Chiron had manipulated the mist enough so that Paul would think I had always been around, so he would never remember a time when Percy didn’t have a twin sister. He was a nice guy, and treated me kindly, so I approved of him right away. I also got to meet Tyson, our half-brother Cyclops, so that was extra-special. When he found out that I was his sister, he lifted me up in the air and spun me around, nearly crushing me with his excitement.
“Now I have brother and sister?! This is the best day!” Percy laughed at the scene, and I couldn’t help but join in.
I walked into the kitchen to move the cakes (mom had baked extra for Tyson) to the living room table only to see Paul and Percy in the middle of what seemed to be a serious conversation.
“Oh, sorry, I was just coming for the cakes.”
Paul was startled for a second, then relaxed when he saw it was me. “No no, stay! I was just about to ask Percy something important, and you should be here, too.” He shuffled where he stood and wrung his hands, like he was nervous, before taking a deep breath. “Your mom,” he said, looking between Percy and I, “I’m thinking about proposing to her.”
Percy almost dropped his cup.
“You mean…marrying her? You and her?”
“Well that was the general idea. Would that be okay with you?” I realized he was asking me and Percy, of course he was, but a part of me felt that wasn't my place. I looked to my brother.
“You’re asking my permission?” I almost rolled my eyes at him.
Paul scratched his beard. “I don’t know if it's permission, so much, but she’s your mother. And I know you’re going through a lot. I wouldn't feel right if I didn’t talk to you about it first.”
Percy was silent for a minute, and then he smiled. “I think that’s a great idea, Paul. Go for it.”
Paul looked at me, and I nodded in agreement. “What Percy said.”
He smiled really wide then. “Cheers, Percy, Angie. Let’s join the party.”
We were just getting ready to blow out the candles when the doorbell rang.
My mom frowned. “Who could that be?”
I looked at Percy, but he just shrugged. Mom opened the door and gasped. Standing in the door was a man I’d never seen before wearing Bermuda shorts, a Hawaiian shirt, and Birkenstocks. His black beard was neatly trimmed and his sea-green eyes twinkled, eyes that looked exactly like Percy’s. And mine. He wore a battered cap decorated with fishing lures. It said NEPTUNE’S LUCKY FISHING HAT, which was a dead give-away. I sat there frozen, not sure what to do.
“Pos—” My mother stopped herself. She was blushing right to the roots of her hair. “Um, hello.”
“Hello, Sally,” Poseidon said. “You look as beautiful as ever. May I come in?”
My mother made a squeaking sound that might’ve been either a “Yes” or “Help.” Poseidon took it as a yes and came in.
Paul was looking back and forth between all of us, trying to read our expressions. Finally he stepped forward. “Hi, I’m Paul Blofis.”
Poseidon raised his eyebrows as they shook hands. “Blowfish, did you say?” Under other circumstances, I might've laughed. But then, I felt like I was about to black out. Paul and Poseidon exchanged a few more words, but I couldn't hear them. My brain was racing a million miles a minute—I was about to talk to my dad, the god of the sea, for the first time. I felt at a total disadvantage, knowing Percy had seen him at least a few times before. I wondered if he was this nervous the first time they met, too.
“Well!” My mom interrupted. “Um, we’re so glad you could drop by. Paul, this is Percy and Angie’s father.”
“Ah.” Paul nodded, though he didn’t look real pleased. “I see.”
Poseidon smiled at Percy. “There you are, my boy. And Tyson, hello, son!”
“Daddy!” Tyson bounded across the room and gave Poseidon a big hug, which almost knocked off his fishing hat. He hadn’t even looked my way yet. My hands started shaking, and I was a little jealous of how free Tyson felt around him.
“I couldn’t miss Percy’s fifteenth birthday,” Poseidon said. “Why, if this were Sparta, Percy would be a man today!”
“That’s true,” Paul said. “I used to teach ancient history.”
Poseidon’s eyes twinkled. “That’s me. Ancient history.” He then turned his gaze to me, and when his green eyes met mine, I felt like I was going to melt. “And there was someone very special I had to meet.” He smiled kindly at me, and took a few steps forward. “Sally, Paul, Tyson, Angie…would you mind if I borrowed Percy for a moment?” He put his arm around Percy and steered him into the kitchen, and I stood there with tears in my eyes.
Sally was by my side in an instant, rubbing my back lightly. “Just give them a minute, sweetie. I’m sure your father wants to have his own time with you.” I could see Paul making a point to not look at the scene I was causing, and I could only imagine what he was thinking at the time.
All three of Poseidon's children were here. One of them nearly knocked him over with a hug, one was spending one-on-one time with him in the kitchen, and the other was in the living room, crying.
The party took a turn really fast.
Seeing my father for the first time brought old emotions back to the surface.
I had spent years feeling the sting of my father’s abandonment. It always hurt worse than my birth mother’s, because at least I still had someone to call mom. And then I learned the truth, and I got to camp, and I realized I never really had been abandoned by my mom.
The same couldn’t be said for my father.
Months, years, of resentment started bubbling inside me and I felt hot jealousy rise in my chest at the way Percy’s eyes lit up when he saw him.
After about ten minutes, Percy walked out of the kitchen, and I couldn’t tell how he felt. He seemed happier, but also like he had a new weight on his shoulders, and he was holding something white in his hand. He walked straight to me.
“Dad wants to see you.”
My mouth went dry as the desert. “Okay.” I got out, but I didn’t move. I couldn’t.
Percy smiled at me and patted my shoulder. “You’ll be alright, I think he’s nervous, too.” Then he shot a quick Look to Paul and leaned in closer. “When it comes to gods, he’s one of the chill ones.”
That made me feel a little better, but my hands were still shaking as I walked into the kitchen.
Poseidon was sitting at the kitchen counter, but he stood up as soon as I walked in. Percy had been right—he did seem nervous.
“Andromeda, I mean, Angie. You don’t know how happy I am to finally meet you.” His eyes sparkled kindly, and I felt a thousand emotions at once.
“Umm, hi.” I didn’t know any other words.
“I know you must have a lot of questions. Come, sit.” He sat back down and motioned to the stool across from him. I sat down numbly.
“I don’t have much time, and I’m sorry for that.” He continued. “I wish I could spend the whole night with you, and that still wouldn’t be enough to make up for the time, I know. But there are battles raging below with the old sea gods, and I must defend my palace.”
You know, super normal things to hear from your dad.
I nodded.
“I was so happy that you finally made it to camp, I had been eagerly waiting for that day.”
“Why did you abandon me?” The words tumbled out of my mouth, my confused tears turning to anger. All those years alone and confused while Percy got to train and find purpose at camp—some nights it ate me alive.
My dad sighed. “It was not an easy decision, my daughter.” I got defensive hearing him call me that—what right did he have to use that word? “I didn’t want to split you up at all, but I knew it was the only way to keep you both safe. I knew you would be protected by my sister, Hestia, and she far exceeded my expectations.”
I looked down, suddenly embarrassed by my outburst.
“But ultimately,” Poseidon continued, “I knew you would fare better on your own. Don't tell your brother I said this, but he needed his mother in a way that you didn't. Knowing the trials you both would face,” his face darkened, and I wondered what he knew, “I knew it would be harsh, but in the end, you didn’t need anyone but yourself.”
I let his words wash over me, mixing with the realities I had told myself for so long that were coming crashing down. He had chosen to send me away, but because he knew I was strong. He did choose Percy over me, but because it was preparing me for something greater?
My head felt like it was spinning.
“But I don't want you to think you were ever alone,” He continued, “I was always watching.” His eyes were genuine and kind, and mine were filled with tears. “Every science fair project, swim meet, and dance recital—which, by the way, you should've gotten that solo in sixth grade, not Mckenna Bree—I was there. Always keeping an eye on my little girl.”
The tears were falling down my face now, and I wasn’t trying to stop them. His words didn’t take away all the pain growing up so lonely caused, but it definitely healed some of the wounds. Just knowing he knew I was there was more than I ever thought I would get.
He reached out his hand like he wanted to wipe my tears away, and then faltered. I didn’t know what I would have done if he did.
“One more thing before I forget.” He said as he pulled something out of his pocket. I looked down in his hand and had to try not to frown. Sitting there was a puka shell necklace, like they wore in the 90s.
“Oh, wow…thanks.”
Poseidon laughed lightly. “Things are often more than they seem.” His eyes were gleaming. “May I?” I turned around and let him clip it around my neck. It was tighter than my camp necklace, which now had one bead painted with a small labyrinth on it. “Percy has his special weapon, Riptide, I believe he calls it, so I thought my daughter needed something equally special, all of her own.” I furrowed my brow at him, confused. I trailed my finger along the shells, and Poseidon smiled. “You’ve got the idea. Now pull.”
I looked at him like he was crazy.
“Pull?”
He nodded, and I figured why not. I ripped at the necklace, careful to avoid the leather rope of my other one, expecting for the shells to fly all over the kitchen floor. But they didn’t. And when I looked in my hand, I wasn’t holding the necklace.
I was holding a beautiful, perfectly balanced, gleaming celestial bronze sword with a small trident inlaid on the hilt right above the blade.
“Whoa!” I turned it over in my hands, not believing what just happened. “This is amazing!”
My father was smiling widely. “Now you’ll never be without a way to defend yourself. But that’s not all.”
My eyes got wider with excitement.
“There’s more?”
He nodded. “To return the weapon back to its resting form, simply say ‘nostos’”
“Nostos.” I repeated, and in moments I was wearing a necklace again, perfectly undamaged. “Returning.” I said, not knowing how I knew the translation.
Poseidon nodded, pleased. “To remind you that you always have a home to return to. What belongs to the sea can always return to the sea.”
Then I did something I never thought I would ever do—I hugged my dad.
He seemed surprised at first, but then he let his arms close around me and he gave me a squeeze. He smelled like the freshest ocean breeze, and a warmth spread through me. At that moment, he wasn’t the god of the oceans, he was just my dad. And maybe, just maybe, he wasn’t the worst father out there.
“I said there’s more!” He said with a laugh. “This time, tap the necklace twice and then pull.” I did as he said, and instead of a sword, a five-foot trident appeared in my hands, also gleaming celestial bronze and decorated with sparkling pearls, seashells, and seaglass. My mouth fell open.
“A daughter of the sea deserves a weapon worthy of the title.” Poseidon was beaming even wider than before, and I could hardly form words. It was the most beautiful weapon I had ever seen, and I felt power surge through my fingertips.
“I don’t even know how to use a trident…”
“Chiron will train you, don’t worry about that. Plus,” he got a glint in his eye, “something tells me it’ll come naturally to you.”
“Thank you,” I couldn't think of any words to express how happy I felt. “This is the best gift ever!”
Poseidon's smile fell slightly. “I know it doesn’t make up for all the years, but I hope it’s acceptable as a token of my care for you.” He smiled sadly and cupped my face in his hands. To my surprise, I let him. “My love for you.”
He was right, but at least he was trying. The trident in my hand was proof of that.
“Thanks, Dad.” His eyes seemed to glow brighter hearing me call him that, and a part of me started to believe he actually did mean what he said.
“Well, I should go.” He shifted, and if a god could look nervous, he did. “I’ve been away too long already. But it was worth it to finally meet you.” He put a hand on my shoulder, and I swear I’d never felt stronger in my life. “Tell Percy goodbye for me.” He started to turn, and then faltered before turning back to me. “Hold fast, Angie. Your time will come, and I’ll be with you when it does. So will your brother. Until then, enjoy your birthday cake.”
And just like that he turned to mist and was swept out the window on a warm ocean breeze.

ingredients to make chocolate chip cookies.

check notes at the end.
All-purpose flour. My mom wanted to bake a cake for dad. “I want to do something special”, she smiled. “There’s no flour” I reminded her. My parents never really got along, so I couldn’t understand why she wanted to make that cake. I didn’t feel anything when they divorced, “about time” my 6th grade self thought. I remember coming home that day and hearing them yelling at each other again. I placed my bag down and took my shoes and my coat. I was hungry so I went to the kitchen, where my mother was. It seemed things had cooled down. She was putting the groceries away. My father came back yelling at her, he didn’t even notice I was there. My mother screamed. The flour spills and packs of frozen vegetables are scattered on the floor. I hate cleaning up messes.
Baking Soda. I loved doing science experiments. Throughout elementary school, I was always the kid chosen to represent the class for science fairs. My favorite experiment was the exploding volcano.
Salt. I had a friend in middle school who was obsessed with salt. In science class, she’d bring out tiny salt packets, pour them in the palm of her hand, and lick them. She kept this habit up for 6 months every day. Later that year, I heard she was in the hospital from a stroke. Didn’t know high blood pressure ran through the family.
Unsalted Butter. I prefer toast for breakfast. As a kid, I’d wake up before my parents and place two slices in the toaster. I had to be quiet because I didn’t want to wake my sleeping mom. I heard the floorboard creek, uh oh, she was up. I hurried up and took the bread out of the toaster. I wanted something on it. Jam? Peanut butter? There was only butter. I grabbed the butter, my mom was there with me. “Butter makes you fat.” were the last words I heard before I saw her hand slide across my face with force.
Sugar. My dad always said I had a sweet tooth. Even though Mom and him argued a lot, he always made sure to bring me home something after his nights out. 2nd grade, it was a chocolate donut. 5th grade it was chocolate chip cookies. In 7th grade it was lipstick, I was confused. The color matched the kiss mark on his neck and mom didn’t wear lipstick. In 9th grade, it was pink lipgloss, and I accepted it. My then-boyfriend said he loved the way it looked on me.
Vanilla extract. Why is it so expensive to buy? I wanted to give her a gift. Her birthday was coming up. She always talked about this dagger necklace that was on display every time we walked by the store. I think I had mixed feelings for my best friend, romantic feelings. I wanted to impress her but I only had forty dollars to my name, well, at least until my next paycheck came out.
Two large eggs. My sports bra couldn’t fit me anymore. My 5th-grade body is now my 9th-grade body. I had to buy a bigger bra. I told my mom, and she said to just check in the back of her drawer and use one of hers. I didn’t know my size. At school, in the janitor's closet, my boyfriend said he loved my breasts, and he grabbed them harshly, we continued to make out. I asked my best friend to help me figure out my size, she took me to the department shop and they measured me. She also wanted to grab a new bra. “We have the same bra size,” she said as she took off her shirt. We were in the same changing room, her breasts were large in my opinion. I wanted to kiss them.
Chocolate Chip Chunks. I used to steal chocolate from this small corner store near me. I’d eat them at a nearby park on the swings. If my mom saw me eating this, she’d kill me. “It'll make you fat.” I didn’t care. I’m always hungry at home and I’m tired of eating apples and carrots for snacks. I just want to be able to eat sweets like the other children.

Writing Bingo: Meeting the Parents
Mega Man X. In which X joins Aero as she makes her yearly visit to her parents. Full story in the Read More cut. 1,161 words.
Feel free to send an empty square as a prompt through my ask here: link
X was sure that he could date motor vehicles now by whether or not they could accommodate a Reploid. Models dating before his finding had much lower ceilings and were occasionally a bit wider as well. Aero’s truck was one of them. Her dutiful, leaf green pickup did its best to hold X in the passenger seat, but it was still a bit too cramped to be comfortable. Let alone hold a small vase of flowers like he was now. At best, he didn’t have to worry about it falling and shattering on the floor. At worst, he barely had room to wiggle without bumping into Aero as she drove.
“Are you sure about this? You don’t have to join me.”
X looked over at Aero. Her eyes were on the road, and her grip on the wheel was rather relaxed.
“I’ve never met your parents before.” he told her.
Aero slightly turned her head at him just to cock an eyebrow. Not long after she took a deep breath out.
“Alright.” she relented. “We’ve already gotten this far, I guess.”
X gave her a small grin.
“I could still jump out the window if you asked.” he joked. “I can make the landing.”
Much to his delight, Aero laughed. They both knew he couldn’t squeeze out the window if he tried.
The rest of the ride was spent in silence. Aero knew where they were going well. She had told X -before he offered to come with- that it was a trip she made once a year. There were many times where she didn’t want to, but ended up doing it either way.
They parked her truck at the church. The path from there was well maintained, allowing X to take in another one of humanity’s grimmest reminders. Aero led them to a certain spot, and simply stopped there. X could feel his heart clench as he read the gravestone.
‘Barrett and Lillian Sephira
2109
Lives ended early leave memories lasting far longer’
“Hey guys,” Aero softly said to the gravestone, “I brought a friend with me today.”
To X, she then said, “You can place the vase at the bottom of the gravestone. There’s a strong magnet in there to keep the vase in place.”
X gave her a nod before doing as he was told. As he stepped away, the feeling that he had to say something as well came over him. Just as sudden, X felt just as nervous as he would have been if her parents were still alive.
“H-hi, Mr and Mrs Sephira. My name is X, I’m a Reploid. The first.” he said, even giving a shy half-wave. “Doctor Cain has taken me in. So I guess I might be a cousin in a way? Heh… I don’t think I am though. I am grateful for Doctor Cain though, and what he’s done for me, but he’s not… he’s not...”
X’s words stalled. He wasn’t quite sure what he would have said next. Instead of finishing the thought, X turned to Aero.
“Do you think they would have liked me?” he asked. “Especially since...”
Aero looked down in a contemplative silence.
“I didn’t have a lot of guy friends when I was younger,” she admitted. “So I don’t really know.”
“Oh...”
“However, based on my and Gran’s opinions, I would like to think they would. Dad would insist that you call him by his first name, and Mom might wonder if you’re able to eat. Then she’ll ask if you prefer cookies or cakes. She’ll bring them to you on your birthday- or… the day Cain found you, at least.”
“Your mom could bake?”
Aero laughed. “Nah. Not really.”
X couldn’t help but laugh a bit as well.
The two remained at the graveside for quite a bit longer. X knew that it had to be Aero who gave the okay to leave- not that he thought of leaving. The graveside was oddly calming.
“Did I ever tell you about their deaths before?” Aero asked.
“Bits and pieces.”
Aero absently nodded.
“It was my aunt who killed them,” she quietly explained. “The reason why I ended up living with the babushka instead of someone younger. I never got to see Aunt Vi much when I was younger. She and my mom just never got along. At least, that was the story I was told most of the time. Even then, as a kid, you gotta figure- what could cause two siblings to hate each other so much that they never want to see each other?”
X gave a nod. “I can’t imagine it.” he agreed.
“One day, sometime after I turned 11, Aunt Vi showed up at our house uninvited. I was in my room, and didn’t think to come down, but I could hear everyone make small talk one minute and then full blown arguing not five minutes after. I wonder if she even knew I was there...”
“Were… were you the one to call the police?”
Aero shook her head.
“Aunt Vi did in a panic.” she explained. “As more first responders showed up, I got scared. It started to dawn on me what had happened. So I stayed were I was. Gran was called to confirm the bodies, and that was when someone noticed I was there. Gran was the only one who bothered to look for me. She told me to stay in my room until all the police left. Including Aunt Vi, who was escorted out for questioning.”
Aero’s body started to tense. Hate and grief overcoming her as she thought back to that day. X tried not to think about what would have happened to a young Aero next. She had been a witness, and likely would have been part of her aunt’s trial. All of which would have occurred while making funeral preparations, still attending school, and having to adjust to no longer being home- to no longer having parents.
“They didn’t have to die.” Aero said. Her voice suddenly so dark that it scared X. “If I had just-”
“You were a kid, Aero.” he tried to remind her. He was trying his best not to just take and shake her, but it was hard.
Aero looked to him. Her eyes were glistening from imminent tears.
“But I-”
“Were smarter than you think by staying in your room. By panic or otherwise. She could have killed you too. Or worse.”
Aero bit her lip. When the first tear finally fell down her face, Aero could no longer hold it back. X didn’t quite know what to do. Taking a gamble, he placed his hand in hers- a small reminder that she wasn’t alone. Aero didn’t think twice before using it as an invite to hold him. X didn’t think twice as he held her as tight as he could without hurting her.
He also shed a tear or two, but he never mentioned it to her.

Marriage. 97
Chapter 97: Goku’s Birthday Back
Oh boy, it’s finally here. I’m so excited, but I know how he gets. But so what. It’s his first birthday back, so he better enjoy it. I tell Gohan to help me keep Goku distracted, while me and Goten get the house ready. After I make a few calls to our friends, and I have finished the meal, I start on the cake. When that’s baking, I go get my outfit ready for tonight.
Once everything was ready, and everyone had showed up, I let Gohan know that they could come home. The moment Goku walks through the door, and we shout happy birthday, he runs right back outside. I just knew that man was going to try something like this. “Gohan, can you please.” He said yes mom, and goes after his father. Goten then questions why did Goku do that. “Well, sweety. Your dad just doesn’t like his birthday.”
“Why? Doesn’t he like it when it’s a day all about him?” I don’t know how I was going to tell him. How would I tell him that his father’s birthday is made up? Especially since we don’t even know his real birthday. The moment Gohan came back, he was dragging Goku by his legs. Any other day I would find this funny, but not today. Before I got a chance to help Gohan, Goten ran up to Goku. He had a sad pouty face, as he asked why his daddy didn’t like his birthday. Goku looked so sad, but then gave a smile and finally got up. Gohan then comment that next time he’ll knock him out. Goku and Goten laughed at that, and Goku apologized to Gohan. He better apologize.
…
“Happy Birthday!” Oh no! Not this! Anything but this! I quickly went back outside, and started flying away from there. The one thing I didn’t like about being alive, and it just had to be today. The moment I thought I was far enough, I tried to relax. Now it made sense why Gohan wanted to spar today. Now it made sense why I woke up to a wife wanting to ride me before breakfast. That one I don’t mind, but the whole point of today is just pointless. Besides how old am I really? Especially counting, or taking away, the years I been dead. And do I age different, because I’m a sayian? Looks like I’m camping out tonight, or till Chichi calms down.
Just when I was finally feeling relax, I got punched across the face. I looked to see who hit me, and it was a very angry Gohan. “DAD! YOU’RE GETTING YOUR BUTT HOME TO CELEBRATE YOUR BIRTHDAY! WEATHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT!” I tried to reason with him, but instead he grabbed me by the collar. “DAD! You’re not going to do this on your first birthday back! This will not only be Goten’s first time celebrating your birthday! It’s the first one since you been brought back to life!” He then had tears coming down his face. “Daddy please.”
“Gohan.” I tried to reached out to him, and wipe away his tears, but he just backed away.
“Dad, just come on. Mom work so hard to make it special for you. I even got up super early, so I can make sure Goten didn’t go upstairs, when he woke up. So.” He started pulling my arm. “Come on dad.”
“Ok, ok. You three are going to be the death of me, when you guys acts like this.” I again tried to wipe his tears away. He then smiles, as we flew back home. But the moment we landed I was having second thoughts, on leaving again. Gohan quickly tripped me, and pulled me by the legs inside. The moment we came inside, I was greeted by a very sad Goten. Oh great, I’m trapped. He asked why I didn’t like my birthday, but I didn’t have the heart to tell him. I finally got up, and he latched to me, and Gohan stating next time he’ll knock me out. We laughed at that, and I tried to apologize to him. He said it was fine, and we joined everyone in the den.
I still wanted to leave. This was just so uncomfortable, having all this attention. Then having people singing that weird song, with the addition of my name. But when it was time for food, that didn’t even make this any better. But I tried to have fun, and enjoy time with family and friends. The moment our friends left I was still not sure what to do.
Once I was left with my family, the boys kept hugging me. Goten kept saying for me to stop looking sad on my birthday. I tried, I really tried, to look happy, but I just couldn’t. I was planning to go take a shower, when Goten and Gohan grabbed my legs. “Your birthday party isn’t over yet.” “Yeah.”
I asked them what they meant, till something caught my attention. They can’t be serious. There, in Chichi’s hands, was something I wasn’t expecting. It was a picture frame, and the picture was of me and grandpa. “But how? How did you even managed to get this?”
“You can thank your sons for that.” I look down at them, and they were smiling at me. I smiled back, as I asked how.
“After Mr. Popo showed me and Trunks this weird room, that takes us to the past, I got curious. So, during a weekend I asked Gohan to come with me, and asked Mr. Popo if he could take us to a time when you and grandpa were together. For at least a little while.”
“Then I thought wouldn’t it be cool if we had a picture to give to dad. Especially since dad’s birthday was coming up.”
I start feeling a bit emotional. I told them to let go of my legs, and give me a proper hug. When they hugged me, it was the best feeling in the world. I adjusted the boys to where I’m carrying both of them, and walk over to Chichi. We share a kiss, and I didn’t want to let my boys go yet. As much I dislike this day, but this one my boys made it super special. Once they start asking to be let go, I just hug them tighter. “But daddy! I have to use the bathroom.” I finally let Goten go, but I still hold onto Gohan.
He asks why, and I just say because I want to. His face turns red. “You’re the best dad ever. But can you please let me go, or at least stop carrying.” Instead I carry him like I use to do, and comment how much my little man has grown so much. His face becomes redder, and he even pouts with his arms cross. For just a moment he’s my little Gohan that I left all those years ago. My Gohan that got scared easily, and ran to daddy whenever something trouble him. For just this moment all I see is my 3-year-old son, who’s upset that he couldn’t go with daddy to train. “Dad, why are you crying?”
I couldn’t help it. Who’s in my arms isn’t my teenage son, but my baby boy, the one who never saw his daddy get hurt. I couldn’t stop the tears from flowing. I could feel Chichi rub my back. I couldn’t stop choking up the words that escape my lips. “Chichi, our baby boy.” That’s when I hear a daddy, and see my other son, Goten. I see him walking towards me, and hugs me around my neck. I can’t stop seeing that I’m hold two of my baby boys. I ended sobbing, as I held them tighter.
It took me some time for me to calm down, and let my boys down. When I did, I felt so empty. That started another a round of tears, and I was being hugged by Chichi. “It’s ok big guy.” I kept repeating over and over that I was sorry. “It’s ok, it’s ok.” After some time, I calm down. Now we were all in the den, sharing a family moment. I don’t deserve them. They make me feel like the luckiest man in the whole universe. I was slightly upset when Gohan said that him and Goten were going to the lookout, for the rest of the weekend. But the moment me and Chichi was alone, she reminded me that she still had a present for me. That changed my mood completely, as I finally realize why the boys were going to the lookout.
…
“Chichi, our baby boy.” Seeing dad cry was a complete shock to me. Then I realize how he was holding me, and I couldn’t help feel emotional, too. He’s holding me like I was a kid again. He wasn’t looking at me as I was now, no, far from it. Dad was in a different world all together. Then Goten had said daddy, and dad cried even more. When Goten hugged his neck, dad ended up really crying as he held us tighter. Poor dad.
When he let us go, he just stood there looking at his hands. Then when mom started hugging him, he began crying again. “Big brother.” I look down to Goten. “Why is daddy crying on his birthday?”
“Daddy is having a moment. Daddy loves us very much, and he’s just hurt very, very bad.”
“Is there anything we could do to make him feel better?” Now even he looked at the verge of tears.
“Love dad very much. That’s all I could think about.” He nods, and we watch mom calm dad down. When everything is calm down, is when we just sat in the den. Mom and dad are on the couch, while me and Goten sit by their legs. Dad ruffles our hair, and we lean into it. It feels so good to get this attention from dad. That’s when I see, from the kitchen window, that the sun is just about to set. I tell Goten we have to start heading out. He looks ready to question why, but then he gives me a ‘oh’ face.
Dad looks sad that we’re leaving, but we have to. Me and Goten give dad one more hug, and wish him a happy birthday again. As me and Goten fly to the lookout, Goten ask if we really staying there all weekend. “Yes, Goten.” Then he ask if that means I get to play with him. “Sure, why not.”
…
The moment the boys leave, I tell Goku how I still got to give him my gift. He went from looking very sad, to a happy boy. He grabs my hips, and he’s asking what it was. I wrap my arms around his neck. “How bout you take us to the room, and find out.” He licks his lips. He picks me up, and I wrap my legs around his hips. As he takes us to our room, our tongues fight each other, and I feel his hands firmly grabbing my behind. He’s even rubbing me against him. Someone is being impatient, and I couldn’t help giggle into the kiss.
When we reach our room, I try to escape his grasp, only for him to hold me tighter. “Tell me, and maybe I’ll let you go.” I start to giggle. As I tell him he has to let me go, if he wants to find out. “Now, you’re being mean. Tell me.” I giggle even more as I try to get out of his hold. “No. Tell me.” He licked his lips. Oh my.
“Goku, let me go, and then you’ll get your gift.”
“But Chichi, tell me.” I can’t stop laughing, as I untie my scarf. I then wrap it around him. “Chichi?” I slowly undo my tops. When I get it past my shoulders, he whistles. “When did you get those?” I could feel my cheeks starting to slowly burn.
“Let me go, Goku.” He whines but he does let me go. Once my clothes are off, he practically attacks me, and has me pin under him. “Goku, so, you like?” He nods his head, and is practically drooling. “So, take off your clothes. Or are you going to keep them on?” He got up so fast, and takes off his clothes. And then goes back to pinning me down. “Happy birthday Goku.” He licks his lips, and is drooling, but has yet done anything. Then I couldn’t help smile, as I tell him that there’s a bag of senzu beans in my night stand.
That’s when he attacks me. His mouth loving his mark, his hands touching me all over. He then trails kisses down to my left breast. “Do you have more of these?” I tell him yes, and different flavors. He then turns to super sayian, and the look he gave me both excites me, and makes me realize I’m going to be needing those senzu beans sooner than expected. Instead of him dropping kisses, he’s biting. His hands are also being more aggressive than usual, and I could feel him raking his nails against my sides.
As he’s working my breasts, I feel myself getting wetter by the second. Before long, he has finished eating my caramel bra. He then nibble his way down my stomach. When he reaches my core, it feels like an animal was eating me. I’m practically screaming his name, as he devours me. I’m left seeing stars, as I heavily climax. I didn’t even get a chance to recover, as I felt him ram into me. Within seconds I’m seeing stars again, as I came again, and again. When I finally did get a chance to recover, is when I notice that we’re on the bed. When did that happen?
He’s still a super sayian, but he’s smiling at me. I asked what’s with the smile. “I might go deaf because of you.” We both giggle at that, and I tell him sorry. “Don’t. If I become deaf it’ll be the greatest thing to happen to me.” I was completely shock, before I smile at him. We share a kiss; he then purrs into my ear. “You ready to continue?” I start to giggle, as I tell him yes. “You sure, I could give you a small break.”
“But it’s your birthday. Which means, I’ll be ready for everything you have for me.” He nibbles my ear, as he asked if I was sure. “Goku, yes. Now take everything, and don’t stop.”
“In that cast.” He place a senzu bean on my lips. “You might need this first.” I giggle before I eat it. The moment I feel it’s effects, he’s nibbling his mark till I tell him that I was ready for the next round. The moment I say that, he’s nibbling his way to my breast. And before long I was left screaming again, while he takes all of me. The next morning, we’re smiling as we snuggle together. “I hope those bitemarks of yours stay longer this time.” I couldn’t help giggle, as I snuggle closer to him. I tell him how I agree, and he kisses me.
…
The next morning, as Chichi made breakfast, I couldn’t stop holding her. “You’re so beautiful. And the fun part, my ears are still ringing.” She giggles, as she flips another pancake. I then placed my hand on her stomach. “Remember the first time you made me celebrate this weird thing?” She giggles as she says yes. “Not only was it the first time celebrating my birthday, we were going to be parents soon. And when Gohan came a month later, it felt almost like a late present.” She says an ‘oh’ and places a hand over mine. “Was Goten like your Christmas present?” She nods, and we share a kiss.
“Our boys are really the greatest gifts we gave each other.” I agreed with her, and I kiss her forehead.
“Yes they are. But are you sure you want to celebrate our anniversary on the day we renewed our vows?” She said yes, and because of the whole thing last month. “Does that mean, I have more time to surprise you?” She giggles and she says yes. “Now what are we gonna do for yours and Gohan’s birthday?”
“Well, for me, you start helping pick out a location so we can start farming.” I kiss her forehead, and ask what else. “As for Gohan, he has school on his birthday. So, maybe a big dinner of all his favorites. And I mean his all-time favorites, down to his favorite fresh herbs and fruits.” I gave her a knowing smile.
“Were you not able to find them without me?” We giggle.
“No, silly. Just that you always pick the best ones.” We giggle at that, and then enjoyed breakfast together. While we ate we talked. After breakfast we spar a little, till I might have pinned my wife, and caught the scent of her arousal. Which lead to me having second breakfast, and the best kind too. The front yard became two types of battlefield, and maybe I let her get away with one or two hits. But as she rode me for the third time, I could tell she needed a while deserve break.
After that, I ended up taking her on the table, before we moved to the bedroom. It was finally time to get dinner ready that I let her do anything else. Ok, maybe we didn’t let up, even when she was cooking. After dinner, we took a nice bath together, before we mentally told the boys it was safe to come home.
When they came home, Chichi was cooking their dinner. And the boys were telling us how much fun they had at the lookout. Even saying how Videl went, and it was an endless game of tag with Piccolo. Even Dende and Mr. Popo joined them. Goten looked so happy when he was telling us this. And Gohan face turned red, when Goten mention that Videl stood with them the night. And that they were just watching the stars all night long. Soon, we’re just sitting in the den, enjoying each other company. Goten even fell asleep on my lap, Gohan on my shoulder. I even noticed that Goten was sucking his thumb. Reminds me of when Gohan use to do that, whenever I did pushups to rock him to sleep.
I really didn’t want to wake them. They were being my precious little boys, and it was making me happy sharing this moment with them. But the moment Chichi said that the boys had to go to bed, and woke them up, I felt sad. I tried prolonging them leaving me, by suggesting family bath time. Chichi looked ready to turn down the idea, but she gave me a quick look, and said how it was a great idea. I even help Chichi clean them. At first, Gohan tried to resist, but then let it happen. He even a big smile on his face when me and Chichi poked his face, and said we love him. When we clean Goten, we gave him the same treatment. Only difference I pinched his cheek, when saying I loved him. He looked so happy.
…
I can’t believe this. I’m actually letting my parents clean me. At first, I resisted, till dad had a long face and looked so sad. Now I definitely know where me and Goten got it from. When I finally let them clean me, it was kind of silly and fun. Dad was praising me on how much his ‘little guy’ grew, and how happy he was that I was making my own future. Then my parents did that one thing, that as a kid, I found to be the best part of family bath time. They poked my cheeks, and told me they loved me. And in that one single moment, I felt like I was 9 again.
When they clean Goten, it was such a fun sight. Dad praising him on how good he’s doing in school. Not once did dad praised either of us for our strength, and that felt nice. When mom and dad did the poking cheeks thing, dad instead pinched Goten’s cheek. It was so cute to see everyone like this. As we socked and played with the bubbles, our parents had the biggest smiles, and were even laughing. It was such a nice moment. What made it funny, was that mom was drying me off, while dad dried Goten. With that done, we headed to our rooms. And as I left, I faintly heard dad. “Look at our perfect baby boys.” That’s when my face felt hot.
…
When we got home, it was so much fun. As we ate dinner, we talked, but dad was giving me and Gohan a weird smile. It was a happy smile, but I smile I never seen. While we were enjoying family time in the den, I asked Gohan about the smile. He said that’s dad proud at us smile. That made me super excited. And when I started to feel sleepy, I crawled on top of dad; he’s very comfy. I was so sad that mom woke us up to go to bed, but then dad said family bath time. That woke me up, and got me excited.
Mom and dad cleaned me and Gohan, and dad pinched my cheek. It felt silly. After bath, dad dried me. Mom usually does that, but it felt nice that dad did it. Then after I got dress, dad tucked me into bed. Then the next day, dad flew me to school. He even did tricks as we flew to school. It was so much fun. And then when he picked me up, he took me to the park before going home. Today was so much fun.
When we got home, mom and Gohan joined us in an after-dinner spar. Everyone seem so happy. We were all a happy family.

Hello Franky. I hope ur doing alright.
I’m sorry if I came off as rude in writing down this request. Idk if you’ve ever wrote anything like that before, so I’ll just drop this ask anyway in case you haven’t. I hope it doesn’t bother you
Can I ask for hcs of the WBP celebrating reader’s birthday? It could be something where the reader is used to people forgetting abt her birthday every year and it usually goes on like any other regular day, except today where it’s her birthday and she’s feeling a lil shitty coz it still hurts that nobody remembers it’s the day!!! little does she know that her boyfriend/s were preparing a whole surprise for her or smthn <<GOD I WANT THAT TOO!!!😞
I know it’s kinda lame and I feel a but pathetic writing this lol i hope I’m not coming in a bad timing
Sorry this is so late, I know this feeling though, most my life it was that way and my dad and mum never bothered, even now at age 35 neither remember. I hope even though this is late it helps <3 [Sorry ended up abit platonic and GN reader I just wanted to do a thing where everyone celebrated all at once]
Every year was the same, your birthday would drift by with no thought. You knew this year would be the same, why would anyone on a crew of hundreds care about one person’s birthday? You could at least rest a little better knowing that wasn’t personal at least, just the world couldn’t stop for one person.
But it still hurt.
The day carried on like any other. Duties carried on, people would pass you and nod, wave, no hint that they knew it was your birthday. That’s fine you told yourself as you trudged down the deck, staring into the inky expanse of the sky, watching the stars twinkle across the blanket of night.
“Hey!” You glanced up and saw Ace, wearing his usal grin he walked over to you, linking your arm as he did so.
“What’s wrong?”
“Nothing, just come with me, it’s good I promise.” He said with a twinkle in his eye, he was up to something and you just thought it was Ace being a typical little shit, yet you followed anyway, allowing him to pull you along.
When you rounded the corner you jumped when there was a loud cry of SURPRISE mostly from Ace who shouted just as loud and was right next to your ear.
You then saw the people you were closest too, all around a cake which Thatch had baked, a little stack of gifts and plenty of mugs filled with booze.
Overwhelmed by the celebration you felt yourself tear up, Marco coming to stand next to you, clapping a hand on your shoulder. “Did you forget I know your birthday? I got your medical records yoi.”
Even though you’d been here barely a year everyone cheered and wished you happy birthday and for the first time in ages, you felt like you belonged.

make a wish
1.8k, G, Eddie/Buck (pre-relationship), pining, birthdays
Buck's birthday is in a few days, but he hasn't planned anything yet. Nor did he feel like doing so. He was on shift the entire day, and he just didn't feel like celebrating this year.
Luckily, other people in his life felt differently.
Pridewrites 2022 Challenge Day 4 - baking and, the alternate prompt, candles
Eddie’s house was dark.
Buck slowly shut the door behind him, waiting to hear its soft click shut before calling out. “Chris… Eddie? Anyone home?”
“In here!”
Eddie’s voice echoed from the kitchen. Buck crept towards it, careful not to bump into any furniture or step on a toy Christopher forgot to clean up.
The closer he came to the kitchen, the easier it was to see the faint glow of light shining within. “Was there some sort of power outage I wasn’t aware of?” Buck asked, hovering near the dining room table. He tightened his grip on his duffel. “Do you want me to swing back to my place and grab my generator?”
“No!”
Chris giggled at Eddie’s clipped indignation, shouting Buck’s name after him. “Hurry up, Buck!”
“I’m coming, I’m coming…” Buck sighed, shaking his head as he continued forward.
In short time, however, he stopped again. Buck froze under the entry way that separated the dining room from the kitchen, his duffel slipping free out his hand and onto the floor at his feet. His gaze drifted about, bouncing around the corners, off of Eddie and Chris’s faces beaming with pride and excitement, until finally landing on the only light source brightening Eddie’s darkened house.
It was a cake.
It looked poorly made and judging by the state of the kitchen – the parts he could see with help from the candles lit atop the cake – Eddie and Chris baked it themselves.
Buck tore his gaze from the cake to look at Eddie once more. He didn’t know what to say first. What came out of his mouth was, “My birthday’s not for another few days.”
“We know. But you’re on shift then.” Eddie lifted the cake of the kitchen island, brining it to Buck. At this distance, Buck noticed how frosting favored more of the right than the left side. That they baked him a chocolate cake, since patches of it were still visible. How they wrote him a sweet message that bled together, spelling Hapgy BirHdg Bwk. “Tonight’s the only night you were free.”
“And you’d be free, too,” Buck supplied. The accusation caused childish guilt to warm the apples of Eddie’s cheeks, like a kid caught in the midst of pulling a fast one. Buck laughed at the sight. The flames flickered and danced in response. They dared not disappear yet. Buck waited for his friend’s eyes to meet his again, then whispered, “You didn’t have to do this.”
“Chris wanted to,” he told Buck, “and I did, too.”
Hearing his name, Chris hurried forward. With a sweep of his crutch, he knocked Buck’s duffel aside and tugged on his arm. “I want to eat the cake,” he said, “I’m hungry, and Dad wouldn’t let me eat the other ones.”
Buck’s brows rose higher on his head. “Other ones?”
“Cakes are surprisingly hard to make.” Eddie guided Buck to the table, Buck sitting where Chris decided by pulling his chair out for him. Chris sat on one side of him. Eddie remained standing as he set the cake in front of Buck. “Even with Bobby writing out all the instructions.”
“You could’ve bought one from a store.”
“We wanted to bake.”
“You could’ve used a mix.”
“I…” Eddie’s lips curled. His hand, which perched on Buck’s shoulder after letting go of the cake, curled and scraped against Buck with blunt nails. “I could’ve… yeah…”
Buck grinned. “You forgot those were a thing, didn’t you?”
“Listen,” Eddie sighed, “I’d never baked a cake before. Sue me if I’m not the most up to date on the latest tips and techniques.”
“You could’ve googled some recipes… going to Bobby, though? He probably had you going to farmer’s markets for specific eggs and the expensive kind of vanilla…” Buck turned from Eddie to the cake, his smile shrinking to a more comfortable size. “I’m not worth that kind of trouble.”
“I’d disagree.”
Buck tried saying more, but Chris whined at his side. He decided arguing with Eddie wasn’t all that important. “Okay, so are we singing happy birthday before I blow out the candles…?”
“Happy Birthday, yes! Just, wait one sec while I…” Eddie trailed off, his hands patting his body erratically like some deranged airport security officer. They slowed at his chest, sweeping down the charcoal gray button down. “I think I left my phone in the kitchen,” he admit, shrugging his shoulders so his neck briefly disappeared. “I’ll be right back.”
When a good minute passed without Eddie’s return, Buck met Chris’s hungered disappointment with amusement. “How many cakes did you end up making?”
Chris tattled on his father without hesitation. “About five. I thought the fourth one was good, but dad said it had to be perfect.”
Buck peeked at his cake. One of the candles started sinking. “Perfect?”
“He was getting really angry by cake number three.” Chris leaned in, butting his head into Buck’s arm as he spoke. “It was really funny. He was cursing at the oven in Spanish. I recorded him to show Tia Pepa tomorrow. Maybe she can teach me what some of them mean?”
“I doubt she will, kid.”
“It doesn’t hurt to ask.”
“You’re right about that…” Buck shifted, adjusting their position so his arm wrapped around Chris. He dragged Chris’s chair nearer to his, so Chris wouldn’t pitch forward at an awkward angle but rest comfortably against his chest. “Why don’t you tell me what you thought your dad was saying?”
Sitting there with Chris as he began guessing translations for Eddie’s frustrated muttering made it easy for Buck to forget. Forget that Eddie hadn’t yet returned with his missing phone. Forget the empty apartment he didn’t think twice about turning away from once Eddie called, asking for him to come over. Forget how he dreaded his upcoming birthday with another failed relationship in his rearview, even though he accepted how him and Taylor parting ways was, ultimately, for the best.
Most importantly Buck forgot that the walls around them, and the boy under his arm, and the man in the other room probably making a bigger mess in the kitchen as he searched for his phone, weren’t his. They weren’t his in a more permanent sense. They weren’t his in a way he didn’t realize he wanted until something clicked and revealed that missing piece in his chest he desperately needed filled.
Yet, briefly, he let himself drift into this fantasy while he could.
“Okay, somehow my phone ended up in the fridge. I’m not blaming anyone but, uh… Buck?”
Buck startled, craning his neck as best he could to find Eddie. “Yeah?”
“You okay?” Eddie pointed at his eyes, miming a lone tear track with his finger.
He hadn’t realized he teared up. Buck wiped what little he cried off with the back of his hand and then shook it dry. “I’m fine.”
Eddie nodded, but the worry hadn’t disappeared. He knelt down to adjust the cake, then in a soft murmur asked, “Are you sure?”
Buck was. “I’m just happy. And hungry.” He bumped his elbow into Eddie’s side. “If we sing now, I might be able to blow one of these candles out.”
“And make your wish!” Chris reminded him.
“That’s right.” Buck turned up his charm, owlishly blinking wide eyes at his friend. “You wouldn’t want to steal my wish, would you?”
Eddie shook his head and answered by shoving back at Buck. Thankfully, he dropped the matter. Instead he circled the table, positioning himself to capture Buck, Christopher, and the cake as they sang the birthday song. On the final note, Buck inhaled with all his might. He extinguished each candle in a clockwise rotation. Chris and Eddie cheered after the wisps of smoke rose from the last one.
Later on, after they tucked Chris into bed and put the cake in the fridge, Eddie and Buck shared a beer in the still messy kitchen. A balm to prepare them for the long night ahead of cleaning.
“You really don’t have to help with this,” Eddie said, “It’s your birthday.”
“Not yet it isn’t.” Buck pushed a mixing bowl aside and hopped onto the counter. “Besides, it’s the least I can do since you went to all this trouble making my cake.”
“It wasn’t that much trouble.”
“Five cakes?”
Eddie pinched the bridge of his nose. “Chris told you?”
Buck kicked his feet in acknowledgement. He tipped his bottle at Eddie. “Also got a video of you getting pretty heated with the oven. Do I have to mediate the next time you cook dinner?”
“Oh, please don’t tell me he’s posted that online or something.”
“No, no…” Buck’s lips thinned with a barely contained smirk. “I figured I should be the one to do it.”
“Asshole.” Eddie punched Buck’s knee, Eddie’s fist flattening into a hand that seared his skin through the rough denim covering his leg.
They drank at the same time, gazes meeting over the lips of their bottles. Eddie dropped first. Buck needed a large swig of his beer before he felt sated.
“So,” Eddie broke the silence, “was today good?”
“How could it not be?” Buck curled forward. He’d been smiling all throughout dessert, and though his face hurt he mustered another grand expression. “The company was great, the cake was delicious… what else could I ask for?”
“You tell me. You were the one with the wish.”
“You know I can’t do that.”
“Why not?”
Buck scoffed. “Because wishes don’t come true if you tell someone, Edmundo. Haven’t you ever made a wish before?”
“Oh come on…” Eddie rolled his eyes with such dramatics his body sagged from exhaustion. “The only reason you wouldn’t want to tell me is because it’s embarrassing. So if you refuse, I’m gonna have to assume the worse.”
“You wouldn’t…” Buck gave Eddie ample time to take back his threat.
He didn’t.
Buck was forced to cave. Not because of the threat, however. He surrendered to the wicked gleam shining in his friend’s eye that caused the air to thin and had Buck thirsting for the rest of his beer.
“The truth is…” He clasped the bottle with both hands, fiddling with the label. “The truth is, I – I didn’t wish for anything.”
“…Really?”
“Yeah, I mean…” Buck blushed, but powered ahead with what he planned on saying. “I have everything I could have ever dreamed of having. What else am I missing?”
Eddie’s lips pursed. He squeezed Buck’s thigh; and, for a moment, Buck thought he saw a shadow flit over the other man’s gaze. It was a brief interruption. Eddie’s face smoothed and relaxed in his next breath, and he clinked his bottle with Buck’s in agreement. “I feel exactly the same.”
Only Eddie didn’t.
Eddie didn’t feel the same as Buck, which was why he kept his true wish a secret.
Though Buck doubted it’d come true regardless.

MC is Half-Demon and They Look Awfully Familiar Part 2!
Part 1 Lessons 1-5 Lessons 5-6 Group Retreat Lessons 10-12 Lessons 13-15 Part 3 Part 4
Okay, They’re Your Cousins but You’re Not Sure How They’re Related to You...
(Barbatos, Simeon, Solomon, and Luke)
(It’s mostly Luke)
Barbs likes smol Lucifer. Smol Lucifer likes Barbs. They bake together with Luke. MC nearly set the kitchen on fire. MC needed to learn to cook.
MC is forever delegated to mixing duty because they refuse to admit that they don’t know how to work the oven.
Simeon is the one telling MC embarrassing stories about Lucifer and the rest of the Student Council from when they were all angels. Lucifer never hated Simeon more than when he found out that Simeon told MC about how hard Lucifer cried when he got to hold baby Mammon for the first time. MC was sworn to secrecy.
Well... sworn to secrecy, but if Uncle Mammon just happened to find out through a series of coincidences it wouldn’t be MC’s fault, right?
Simeon also tried to help teach MC to fly... but he kept distracting them with stories about Lucifer and Michael learning to fly.
“So my father was even WORSE than he told me he was?!”
“Yes, he actually challenged Michael and Raphael to a race at one point. Lucifer ended up slamming directly into a wall because he didn’t know how to stop.”
“SIMEON!”
Solomon was absolutely fascinated with MC. How did their half demon half human nature affect their reaction to certain spells and potions? Do half demons have more or less magical strength than normal demons? Can half demons make pacts with humans? Wait- Lucifer why are you taking MC away they were talking- Lucifer!
Immortal troll needs to troll. MC is the unwitting victim of many of Solomon’s shenanigans.
“Why must I speak in rhymes?! This is the end of times!”
“MC, just stop talking.”
“Father, I don’t mean to be a bother but-”
“So the rhyming spell works the same on half demons... interesting...”
“Solomon...”
“I’m leaving, Lucifer. I’m leaving!”
Aw! Two kids in the Devildom! They were fast friends. Sure, Luke was a little annoying and MC was a bit of a dick, but their mutual smallness and desire to impress their parental figures brought them together.
“Michael’s just so cool and amazing! The way he flies, the way he commands everyone... I want to be just like him someday!”
“Is that why you’re making a cake?”
“Michael has a sweet tooth, and I want to impress him.”
“I wonder if Lucifer likes sweets...”
“Why would you want to give HIM sweets?”
MC just gave Luke a toothy grin and started making the dough for the cake.
Remember back in Lucifer’s section where I said MC would keep their lineage a secret to freak people out? Yeah... they kept it from Luke. At first it was a joke! They were going to tell him! They just uh... it got really awkward. They planned on revealing it to Luke right after they learned how to properly fly so they could swoop in, pick their angel buddy up and zip the two of them to school. It’d freak Luke out at first, but it was meant to be funny! MC would have even sung the song from Aladdin! It um... didn’t turn out that way.
“Hey! What the hell do you think you’re doing?” MC growled at the lesser demons that were crowding Luke.
“O-oh... uh... nuh-nothing...” a few of the demons backed off, mumbling a few harried apologies to MC as they scurried away. The remaining demons seemed a tad more... hmm... they say there’s a fine line between bravery and stupidity.
“M-MC! You can’t fight demons! I’m an angel I-I c-can...” Luke sniffled, but tried his best to step in front of MC.
“Oh please, the little half-breed and the lowest ranked angel are going to put up a fight?” One of the demons jeered, a few of the remaining demons joined in.
MC’s eyes narrowed, their glare as cold as the worst winter storm. “I’m going to tell you once, and once only,”
Their wings sprouted from their back, horns now fully grown and on display, teeth sharper and glistening in the light. Hm, it seemed half demons could make their eyes glow too, how delightful.
MC gave the other demons a sweet smile, it would have been comforting if it weren’t for the amount of teeth they were showing off. They lazily placed their hand on Luke’s head and lightly moved him out of the way.
“Leave, or I will make you regret ever crossing us exchange students.” MC’s carefree smile couldn’t mask the malice that coated every single word that left their lips. “Run along now, you’re not needed here.”
The demon that had started the taunts stiffened, he looked from MC, to Luke, to the other demons, before scoffing and shaking his head. “Whatever, the two of them aren’t worth it anyway...”
When the offending demons weren’t leaving fast enough for MC’s liking, they snapped their fingers and shot a fireball right behind the fleeing demons’ feet. They cleared out pretty quickly after that.
“Luke?” MC turned to look at their friend. “Are you...”
Luke was backing away. That look in his eyes, he was... scared. Scared of MC...
“Y-you’re a d-demon?” He whimpered, taking another step back.
“Half demon, actually.” MC let their demonic elements disappear. “I meant to tell you, I really did! It just was never the right time-”
“You lied to me! You said you were human! But you’re a demon like the rest of them!” Luke shouted, he wiped at his eye with his sleeve and sniffled. “I tried to help you, but you just..! I thought you were my friend!”
“Luke- hang on!” MC took a few steps forward, but Luke was already running away. MC felt something twist in their gut, something awful. That ball of innate pride twisted and practically screamed, filling MC’s head.
“He’s not worth it!”
“You’re above him anyway...”
“If he can’t understand how perfect you are, he doesn’t deserve your kindness.”
“Don’t grovel for his forgiveness. He’s beneath you.”
“Your help was rejected. Let him hate you. You’re the child of one of the most powerful demons in the Devildom, who is he to make you upset?”
The thoughts filled MC’s head as they desperately tried to shut them up. They were their father’s child, their pride wouldn’t be easily combated.
“Just be quiet!” MC clawed at their head.
“You’re better than this. You’re better than this. You’re better than this-”
“Luke!” MC called out again. “I’m sorry!”
It truly was a shame that their friend didn’t understand how much an apology from MC really meant.
They guessed Luke was right, wasn’t he? Demons were nasty awful liars. MC was no different...
That hurt.
Lucifer noticed his kid was moping around, not even Detective Toe Beans could cheer them up. Mammon even came home covered in mud from a failed money-making scheme and it didn’t even make MC crack a smile! He needed to get to the bottom of this.
Upon hearing the reason for his child’s woes, he was fully ready to break down the door of Purgatory Hall and throttle the little chihuahua, but Lucifer came to his senses and realized that MC probably didn’t want that.
He teamed up with Simeon and Solomon the things he did for MC... And managed to get both Luke and MC to the Demon Lord’s Castle to hang out with Barbatos.
It didn’t take a genius to realize that Luke missed his friend too. Sure they called him a chihuahua sometimes, but they were still the bestest friend he had made during his time in the exchange program... maybe ever...
Maybe... just maybe... he overreacted. MC did protect him after all, and they never tried to hurt him...
Barbatos was fully ready to fulfill his role as Luke’s second dad and help his angel-son make up with his friend.
It may have been awkward at first, but the two had to join forces to stop Solomon from getting within a hundred metres of the kitchen. Nothing brings two people back together more than fear for your tastebuds.
Mission success. Lucifer could relax knowing that his kid and the chihuahua were back to being friends. Maybe MC could convince Luke to quiet his infernal yapping... Lucifer was trying to work here!
For some extra fluff, after many days of asking and asking, Lucifer and Simeon agree to take Luke and MC up to the human world for Halloween. They got to go trick or treating, and everyone complimented MC and Luke on their ‘costumes’.
*insert sitcom laugh track here*
Sure, it may have been a little immoral for MC to use their powers to manipulate the humans into giving Luke and MC more candy but... candy...
Oh shit would you look at the time- they had to get back to the Devildom for Diavolo’s birthday party- MC STOP WITH THE CHOCOLATE! THE SIGN SAYS TAKE ONE! DON’T BE LIKE MAMMON.
The exchange year had been a success. Well... sort of. MC wasn’t exactly the average Joe human the Student Council expected, which is why after a lengthy break where MC went back to the human world to visit their other parent and human friends, the seven rulers of Hell (+MC) were sitting and waiting for the new exchange students to arrive.
Unlike the previous year, the entire student council was present. That included Levi who they had to physically drag there, Belphie who was carried there and had to be placed in his seat because he was completely passed out, and finally Mammon, he just had to be threatened.
“Father,” MC pouted from their seat next to Lucifer. “Why isn’t my chair as big as yours?”
Lucifer sighed and ran a hand through his hair. “Because you’re much shorter than me. You can have a bigger chair when you grow a few more inches.”
“Mmm...” MC murmured, crossing their arms. “Are the students going to get here, or what?”
“Can you be patient?” Lucifer asked. “They’ll be here any moment now. I can trust that you’ll behave, right?”
MC looked scandalized, placing a hand over their heart and gasping. “Father! Of course! I’ll be the most polite person these humans have ever met!”
Not so deep down, Lucifer severely doubted that.
“Come now, Lucifer and MC!” Diavolo said from his elevated seat. “It’s almost eight am!”
Right on schedule the portal opened, two sets of screams followed.
“The next big priority should be making the trip more comfortable.” MC huffed. “It’s demeaning getting dropped straight down like that and just slamming into the floor.”
“Hm.” Lucifer rolled his eyes. “Perhaps instead we can just teleport them up to the Celestial Realm, start a war, and have them crash through not one, not two, but all three barriers between the realms with no portal.”
“Father...” MC matched Lucifer’s eye roll. “That has the same energy as ‘when I was your age I walked to school 100 miles through a blizzard!’ The polite thing to do for the exchange students is to not let them hit the floor at 100 mph and possibly give them a concussion.”
And slam straight onto the floor the two other exchange students did. Well, one of them slammed right into the marble, the other had tried in vain to use their wings to slow their decent or fly back up.
Wait...
WINGS?!
WAIT THE OTHER HAD HORNS?!
THEY BOTH HAD-
Oh and would you look at that... one looked like... and the other looked like-
Shitballs.
Lucifer had to keep himself from actually shouting in frustration. One normal day... one day of no exchange student issues was all he asked for...
“Out of over ten million candidates out of over eight billion humans...” Lucifer grumbled. “How in my father’s name did this happen again?”

One Week Later
“Y/N, can we get orange?” asked Arrow from where she sat in the shopping cart. She pointed at the tubes of frosting and you took one off, handing it to her as you went back to searching for a box of red velvet mix.
“Come on,” you sighed, squatting down. You saw one shoved in the back and you bent down, reaching back to get it. You huffed when you pulled it back, the expiration date still plenty good. “Score. Okay Arrow what other color…”
She wasn’t in the cart anymore as you stood, her bright pink shirt and shorts nowhere in sight.
“Arrow!” you shouted, people from the farther end of the aisle turning to look at you. You breathed hard and spun around, exiting the aisle and looking at the checkouts. “Arrow!”
“Mam,” said a man in a white dress shirt and slacks, walking over with a headset on.
“I had a little girl with me and she’s missing and she was in the cart and I would have heard her climb out,” you said, walking quickly, the man following with you as you checked down aisles. “Arrow!”
You heard the guy talk into his headset when you caught pink and a guy near the front of the store. She spun around and you ran over, the manager not too far behind you. You didn’t say a word when you kicked the back of the guys knee and grabbed Arrow, picking her up.
“What’d I do?” he said, Arrow turning away. He looked more angry than you were expecting and you swallowed, the manager urging you back. “She’s the one that took my granddaughter!”
“She’s not your fucking granddaughter, pervert. I’m her nanny and soon to be step-mom so you can back the fuck off.”
“Step fucking what?” he said, his face going blank.
“Grandpa I told you Y/N’s my friend,” said Arrow. You blinked and stared at the man.
“Prove it,” you said. The man angrily pulled out his wallet and ripped out a picture, turning it around. It was a large group photo but you could clearly see Jensen and the kids in it along with… “You’re her father. Danneel.”
“Who the fuck are you,” he said. You took out your phone and went to your pictures, showing him one of your backyard bonfire from the weekend before.
“Is there a problem?” asked the manager. You shook your head and he rolled his eyes and left.
“Sir, I’m so sorry,” you said. He nodded and glanced down.
“Well, I can’t blame you. I understand the feeling,” he said.
“Can we...talk?” you asked.
“I think that’d be best before somebody else gets their ass kicked.”
Fifteen minutes later you had your bag of baking supplies in your trunk, Arrow was playing on the jungle gym and you were sat at a picnic table with Danneel’s parents.
“You guys came down early for JJ’s birthday, huh,” you said.
“We had to come down this weekend instead. Something came up last minute next week,” said her mom. You nodded and took a deep breath.
“I am so sorry. That is absolutely not how Jensen and I wanted to tell you both.”
“I’m old but I’m tough. I’ll survive,” said her father. You looked over to where Arrow was playing, gnawing on your bottom lip. “You said you were the nanny and soon to be step mom. Mind unraveling that for us?”
“I uh, I started working for Jensen in January as a nanny to help with the kids. The relationship part came a few weeks later. We’ve been engaged very briefly. Don’t even have a ring or anything yet,” you said, shaking your head. “Please don’t be mad at him. It’s taken him so long to stop feeling guilty for having feelings for me. Please don’t be upset with him. I don’t...I’m not trying to replace anyone or anything. I didn’t want to like him. But I did and I love him and he deserves to be happy again.”
They looked at one another and back at you.
“Good,” they both said.
“Excuse me?”
“We think he deserves to be happy too. He was in such a bad place after the accident,” she said. “He’s sounded like himself again recently.”
“Plus if you’re willing to kick my ass for thinking I took Arrow, that gets you some brownie points,” he said with a smile. You nodded and looked down at the table, swallowing. “Not what you were expecting?”
“Your daughter’s husband is engaged to a younger woman. I wouldn’t blame you at all for whatever you might think,” you said.
“He’s got a lot of time left,” he said. “He doesn’t have to be miserable for it. We don’t want that for him. It’s not what she’d want. He’s doing exactly what she’d want from him and that’s all we can ask of him. Well and maybe stick around the country for a bit so we can see the kids some more.”
“Yeah, no plans to be anywhere but home right now,” you said. You looked over at Arrow and watched her jump off a high platform. She fell down to her knees but got up and brushed them off before she was running again.
“She’d like you,” you heard, your attention going back to the two of them. She was staring at you and you smiled.
“You don’t know a thing about me mam.”
“I think we know the important parts,” she said. You nodded and glanced down. “What do Jensen’s parents think of all this?”
“They know he’s dating but that’s it. I’m supposed to meet them next week,” you said.
“We’ll keep our lips sealed for the time being then,” she said. “What about your folks? What do they think of Jensen and the kids?”
“The kids probably haven’t met either parent yet, right?” he said.
“It’s kinda complicated...I was adopted. My mom died a long time ago. I don’t have a dad or family really,” you said. You pursed your lips and picked at the corner of the table with your fingernail, the air heavy.
“Well we approve of him,” he said. “He’s a good kid.”
“I know. He’s very special,” you said. “I just wish something so horrible didn’t have to happen to him and your daughter in order to meet him.”
“We can’t change that fact,” she said. “She’d want you to take care of him, keep an eye on him. Oh and remind him to take a break and slow down every once in a while. He always gets so caught up in work and being on the go. She had to calm him down sometimes.”
“I have noticed that trend,” you said. “I hope you don’t feel like he’s going to forget-”
“No we don’t worry about that. If we learned anything from this it’s just that you have to live while you have the chance,” he said as Arrow ran over.
“Y/N, I’m hungry,” she said.
“Alright, munchkin. Why don’t we head home and maybe your grandma and grandpa will have lunch with us?” you asked.
“We’d love to,” they said. “We’ll meet you two there.”
“That went shockingly well,” said Jensen late that night when you were having an extra slice of JJ’s early birthday cake. “Those guys loved you.”
“I think we both got a little too worried over the parents situation. Dee’s parents were great, especially considering I nearly broke his knee. I’m really excited to meet yours next weekend.”
“It’s not too long of a drive up there. I haven’t been home in a long time. I’m looking forward to it too,” he said, a big smile on his face. “I’m really glad they liked you.”
“What’s not to love?” you said, Jensen smirking around his piece of cake. “You’re so hard on yourself. I’m really happy they like me too but even if they didn’t, there’s no problem there. You’re allowed to live your life. Dee wants you to keep living it.”
“I still wonder if she was just like ‘this boy is driving me nuts again, he needs a girl,’ and somehow shoved you into my life,” he said.
“Maybe. I mean, it was good timing that I was looking for a new job the same time you were looking for a nanny.”
“Did you ever report that last guy as an inappropriate employer?” he asked.
“I tell the agency but nothing criminal no. I mostly feel sorry for the families. Nannies are stability in the kids lives and leaving them isn’t easy. Unless they’re little shitheads but even then I don’t blame them, it’s the parents that turned them into it,” you said.
“What’d you think of those three, when you met ‘em I mean,” he said.
“They’re all a little shy like you but they open up if they like you. They’re pretty damn funny. They got wit and sarcasm, even if they don’t know it yet. They’re kind and intelligent and they look to you in how to act like most kids. I knew they were good kids from the start.”
“You’re gonna be a great mom,” he said. You smiled and watched him eat a piece of cake, Jensen tilting his head. “You know they have called you mom before. All three of them. Accidentally but still.”
“Being a nanny has some of the roles of a parent but there’s still a difference,” you said.
“Yeah but you’ve never just been the nanny,” he said, scraping up some frosting with his fork. “Speaking of your sudden thrust into motherhood, the whole kids thing...how many of your own were you thinking of?”
“I don’t know. I don’t need to make a baby to love it. I was adopted and my mom loved me so much. I mean there’s already three of ‘em to chase after.”
“I’d like to have a baby with you. Someday,” he said. You dabbed your finger across some frosting on the plate and sucked on it, staring at him. “I know you do. Y/N there’s no more secrets. There’s never gonna be a secret between us ever again. Sometimes you get nervous but we have to talk about these things and everything. The big choices and the little ones we make together.”
“Honestly? I don’t want you to think I’ll love them less than a kid I make. I won’t. I will treat them all the same but I don’t know how to prove that to you.”
“You told me the day I hired you that I needed to hire someone I could trust, that trust was going to be so important. Y/N, I’ve never doubted your feelings for them. Shit, I’m pretty damn sure you were in love with them before me. And I get it because they aren’t scary. They can’t hurt you like the adults can. We wouldn’t be having this conversation if I had a shred of doubt.”
“I gotta think about kids more I guess. How many, when. I don’t know that right now.”
“We’ll figure out all that when we’re ready. Just let me know and we’ll come back to this conversation,” he said, wrapping an arm around your waist. “You know...hearing about what you did at the store...that’s kinda super attractive you know.”
“Uh what?” you said, Jensen pulling you into his lap.
“You, going protective badass...that’s very, very hot you see,” he said.
“You’re such a guy,” you said while he picked up the last piece of cake on his fork.
“Well we-” he said as you leaned forward and wrapped your lips around the dessert, pulling back with a smile. “Oh you shouldn’t have done that.”
“What are you gonna do about it?” you smirked. He narrowed his eyes and set his fork down before he was standing and flipped you over his shoulder. “Jensen! Put me down!”
“Do the crime, do the time!” he said, walking over to the stairs. “Hm...what to do with you...ah I know…”
“You know…” you said before he flipped you down onto the couch and plopped down on top of you, catching most of his weight on his hands on either side of you. “Troublemaker.”
“You love it,” he said. He leaned down and kissed you, your hands wandering to his hair, holding him close. You grinned and wrapped your legs around his waist, Jensen kissing you sloppy and cheeky and like a teenage boy making out for the first time.
“Dad,” said JJ, rushing down the stairs. He dropped this forehead to yours and sighed.
“What is it?” he asked. He sat up and you both looked at her, spotting the pale tint of her skin. “Feel okay?”
“Jensen call an ambulance, now,” you said, pushing him off and going over to her. He sat up and you kneeled down next to her, her lips slightly blue. You put a hand on her chest and felt the labored breathing. “Did you eat something new tonight? Or did a bug bite you?”
“I stepped on a prickly in the bathroom a minute ago,” she said.
“Jesus,” said Jensen as he rushed into the kitchen. “She got stung by a scorpion.”
He grabbed a bottle from the cabinet and started unscrewing it.
“Jensen go see what the scorpion is and get rid of it before the twins find it,” you said. He left the bottle with you and shoved the phone against your ear. “Hi, sorry how much of the anti-venom do I give her?”
“There should be a child dosage on the bottle, half the cap,” the person on the other end said. You unscrewed the lid and poured some out, having her swallow it down. She whined and you didn’t blame her based on the smell. “An ambulance will be there shortly.”
“Thank you,” you said, spotting Jensen at the top of the stairs. He was holding his wrist and had a slightly smushed object in one of the clear plastic cups from the kids bathroom. “We have the scorpion.”
“EMT’s should be able to identify it,” she said, Jensen walking down slowly. He took a seat on the bottom step and shook his head.
“Jensen?” you said, his hand reaching for the bottle. You moved his hand from his wrist and saw two dots there. “Shit. My fiance was stung too.”
“There’s a nest in the bathroom vanity,” he said, pouring himself a dose and knocking it back. “I blocked off the door but get the twins out of there, please.”
“JJ,” you said as you saw her color get better while Jensen was getting paler. You took your phone out of your pocket and dialed, handing it to her. “Tell Uncle Jared to come over right now.”
Five minutes later Jared was there, JJ and Jensen sat in the back of an ambulance, Jensen getting a shot of something in the leg.
“We’re taking them to West County,” said a paramedic.
“I’ll see you guys soon,” you said, JJ staring worriedly at Jensen who has holding his wrist again. Jared looked around as they took off and you sighed. “Hey.”
“JJ said she and Jay got stung by a scorpion?” he asked.
“She got one as far as they can tell. Jensen got three. There’s a nest in the bathroom cupboard,” you said.
“Idiot,” mumbled Jared. You raised and eyebrow and he shook his head. “He forgot to get the pest spray done this year I bet. Dee always handled that kind of stuff. They’ve had a scorpion problem before when they first moved in.”
“Oh.”
“I’m gonna take the twins and stay the night. I’ll call and get the spray guys in first thing in the morning. You go take care of those two,” he said. You nodded and he grabbed your arm when you headed for your car. “Wait five minutes to calm down.”
“Jared I’m fine.”
“No, you’re not. You just don’t know it. Go inside, get your purse, Jensen’s wallet, take a beat, okay?”
“Okay,” you said. “Make sure-”
“I got it. Go on,” he said. “Make sure he’s not freaking out. Last time he was at a hospital it wasn’t good.”
“Right. Okay. Call me if you need something. And stay away from the kids bathroom.”
“Y/N. I know. It’ll be alright, I promise.”
One Hour Later
“Is dad okay?” asked JJ from where she sat in your lap. Jensen peeled an eye open and smiled.
“I’m okay. Sleepy is all. We’ll be home in a few hours,” he said. His wrist was bandaged and he had an IV in his arm but he’d taken the anti-venom soon enough that they had enough time to get the proper medication in both him and JJ. She was already discharged but you didn’t want to leave Jensen by himself.
“Mr. Ackles,” said a doctor when she walked in the room. “Your bloodwork came back and everything looks good.”
“Awesome,” he said, sitting up in bed. “Can I get out of here?”
“You got about fifteen minutes left on that IV drip but I’ll let the nurse know to start the paperwork. I want you to take it easy tomorrow. Nothing strenuous.”
“I got it,” he said with a nod. “Nothing strenuous.”
“Jensen,” you said around noon the next day, catching him unloading some wood from the back of his truck. “What are you doing?”
“I was gonna work on those shelves for the kid’s playroom,” he said. You crossed your arms and he threw his head back. “I feel fine. The nest got cleared out and the house got sprayed. I wanna work on this.”
“You have all the time in the world to do it. Work on it tomorrow,” you said, picking up the wood plank. He tried to take it out of your hands and you growled.
“Sorry,” he mumbled.
“Please do what the doctor said and rest today,” you said. He bit his lip and you moved the pieces of wood into the garage, Jensen leaning back against the side of the truck when you shut the trunk. “You’re scared, aren’t you.”
He nodded and glanced at his wrapped up wrist, then down to the ground.
“Hospitals freak me out now,” he said. “I don’t like bugs. My body hurt and knowing I forgot to do something so simple put them in danger sucks. Knowing if she hadn’t come downstairs it might have been real bad sucks. If you hadn’t noticed I don’t know if I would have and it scares me not knowing.”
“Close your eyes for me,” you said. He shut them and took a deep breath, letting you take his hand and walk around to the back of the house. You spun him around a few times stopping him so he was facing the pool about twenty feet away. “Know where you are?”
“Somewhere in the middle of the backyard,” he said. “What are you doing?”
“You said not knowing scared you. Lots of times you don’t know. It’s kinda just how life works,” you said, dropping his hand and moving a few feet away. “Take a big step forward.”
“Y/N, I don’t like this,” he said, fidgeting his hand along the bottom of his shirt.
“I know you don’t. But would I hurt you?”
“No,” he said.
“So listen to me. Big step forward.” He took a step and you looked around. “Jump backwards.”
“What?”
“Jump backwards.” He frowned and took a small bunny hop back. “Again.”
“I feel ridiculous.”
“Says the guy who plays pretend for a professional career. Now hop back and then step to the right,” you said. He groaned and did as asked. “Jog forward until I say stop.”
“Are you trying to kill me out here cause I feel like I’m about to break my neck slipping in the pool.”
“I’m trying to get your anxiety out in a non-life threatening way, okay?”
“By having me jump around the backyard like an idiot.”
“By having you get comfortable with the fact that most of life is spent not knowing and you can’t change that fact. You can’t see it all coming.”
He threw his head back but kept his eyes shut. He stared to run towards you and you wrapped your arms around him when he got there, Jensen peeling them open slowly.
“See? I wasn’t gonna let anything bad happen,” you said. He nodded and rested his forehead on your shoulder, pulling you into a squeezing hug. “You okay?”
“I’m sorry for being short and not doing what the doctor asked,” he said.
“Hey, it’s alright. I got scared too last night. Everything is fixed now so no need to worry over it. Why don’t you take a nap and maybe we have a real quiet lazy day while Dee’s parents got the kids for the day,” you said. “Sound fun?”
“Okay,” he said. “I’ll take quiet today.”
Three hours later Jensen was curled up with a blanket, his head resting in your lap as you watched a movie together. You played with his hair, Jensen turning into the touch every so often.
“I know you’re worried about me,” he said. He turned and faced up at you, your fingers swirling in his strands. “I know I’m kinda clingy today which I’m normally not.”
“You can cling all you want, honey,” you said, stroking his cheek with your thumb. “I wish life would give you a break for a second. No work, no badness. Just some peace and quiet for you.”
“My parents lived here after the accident. For a few months. They were here, Jared and Gen were over every day, my siblings would stop down every week. The first few months I understood. I had an injury I had to recover from. But I felt like a child those few months once I recovered. Everyone taking care of the kids, of me. I was barely a father to them. Playtime. A story at bed. Someone else made most of their meals, did everything for them.”
“You’re a father but you’re still someone’s child,” you said. He blinked and you shrugged. “You were hurt, possibly the worst out of anyone. I know taking care of everyone else is your default but people get to take care of you too. I get to take care of you.”
“I feel like all I do is get taken care of by you,” he said. “I never give it back.”
“You’ve given me a family again. You take care of me every single day.”
“I never see you getting upset. It’s always me. I’m always the fuck up,” he said. You slumped down and took a deep breath.
“I get upset Jensen. I got upset that very first time we fought, that night with the ice cream. I got upset when you got jealous of that nanny in Canada and we saw my father the first time. I got upset telling you the truth of it all because you of all people don’t need problems like that dumped at your feet. I got upset when we saw him again because I was scared and I was scared he might hurt you too. I got upset when we fought when you got home and I got upset when you proposed because you were so scared and I get upset Jensen. I get upset when you’re hurt. I get upset when I hurt. But I don’t have all those safety nets under me that you do, remember? I just got a couple right now and you’re my last resort. I’ve been my own support system for so long that I can’t undo that all overnight. I know it’s been months but the fact I even let you see me cry, the fact I can even talk about this stuff with you and know all you’re thinking about is how to make me feel better...I still need to heal too. You’ve done so much already. I’m gonna have my moments where this is switched, believe me. But today’s not my turn for that, it’s yours.”
“I love you,” he said, staring up with the softest green eyes you’d ever seen on him yet. “Even more than five minutes ago if that’s possible.”
“I love you,” you said, bending down and kissing him. “You’re the expert on the falling in love stuff though so I’ll leave that up to you.”
“It’s very...it’s what you think it is and it’s not at all what you think. There’s falling and nerves and then calm and then falling and calm and you spend the rest of your life doing that. It’s not magic and it takes work to keep it alive sometimes but all you gotta do is talk. Just talk and it always seems to work out for me,” he said.
“Can I tell you a secret?” you asked. He nodded and smiled as you went back to playing with his hair.
“You know I really like when you do that,” he said.
“I know you do. It relaxes you,” you said.
“Makes me feel safe too,” he said. “But what’s your secret cause eventually I’m gonna want to know them all.”
“I was very attracted to you when we met. But that kinda freaked me out a bit. I found myself liking you a lot that first day I was here. You got me a birthday cake. I realized how kind you are that night. It wasn’t for anyone’s benefit other than my own. I had a crush on you, even though I knew it wouldn’t go anywhere.”
“I had a crush on you from when you made me a cup of coffee. You’re so good and kind yourself,” he said. He reached up and cupped your cheek. “I’m really happy you had your mom eventually. I would have liked to have met her.”
“Maybe she and Dee are hanging out wherever they are.”
“I hope so. She won’t mind sharing me with you,” he said.
“You honestly think so?”
“You gonna mind sharing me with her?” he asked.
“I’ve always shared you. Just hope that wouldn’t bother her.”
“I used to think maybe it would but no, she wants me to be happy and that’s you so you got all eternity to get to know each other eventually if you think about it.”
“Well when you put it that way we got nothing to worry about,” you said.
“Oh don’t worry about that. I think your mom was right. I get to have two people is all, kinda like she did,” he said.
“She would have liked you. Would have said you’re a little old for me but she would have liked you.”
“Wasn’t she older than Ray?” he asked.
“Yeah. She was. She was only fifty,” you said.
“You grew up too fast,” he said quietly.
“Maybe. But it got me here and I don’t think I would have done anything different. I wouldn’t want to screw that up. Well I’d do one thing different.”
“What?”
“Drop by this house, have a conversation with a certain someone.”
“Say hypothetically you had that ability, you’d really do that knowing what you’re giving up?”
“I’d give her back to you right this second if I could.”
“I appreciate that, really,” he said. He let his hand fall down and reach around your back, curling around your waist. “But she’s not more important than you are. I miss her. Everyday. But I lose one of you either way in that scenario. And I can’t choose. I’ll never be able to. If she were here and you weren’t, I’d still be just like this. It’d still hurt.”
“Make me a promise. I keel over early, you try again. Try for both of us.”
“I will if you will,” he said. He held up his pinky finger and you grabbed it with yours. “But he can’t be hotter than me.”
“Equally as hot?”
“Slightly less hot but that’s my final offer,” he said.
“Eh, fine,” you said. “You’ve worn me down.”
“Always words I want to hear,” he chuckled. You slid further down the couch until you were practically laying back, your arms wrapping around him. He got up and lay down with you on the wrap around side of the couch, pulling you into his chest. “Can I take you to dinner tonight? Just us.”
“Yeah. I’d like that.”
“Okay, honey,” he said, kissing your forehead. “Thank you.”
“For what?”
“Just thanks. For what you said. What you did earlier, just being with me,” he said.
“Lucky for you I like being with you a whole lot,” you said.
“Very lucky for me,” he said. “Very lucky indeed.”

celebrating mother’s day with you
tsukishima kei ; sugawara kōshi ; oikawa torū ; kita shinsuke
headcanon ; fluff ; age up ; snippets of cuteness ; parenthood ; special edition — mother’s day
note: i’m not sure if i portrayed each characterization well but i just thought it’ll be fun to write one. after all, i was blessed to be born with loving parents and i just wanted to share the love i’m grateful for.
tagging: @forgetou @amjustagirl @yacoka @haikyuutothetop @luvnami ;; thank you for dropping these characters as i couldn’t decide who to write for. (of course it was more exciting without context)
ps. it’s longer than expected i’m sorry :’)
tsukishima kei
tsukishima isn’t one who would remember special occasions unless someone had schedule a plan in advance with him. when he wondered if he should do anything for you after hearing his colleagues whispering during break, his work got busier than usual so he had forgotten about it.
that was, until he realized he had ten missed calls from his son; which was odd because he weren’t one to call him so often.
“i was in a meeting, what hap—” before tsukishima could finish his sentence, his son interrupted him, “i bought mom’s favorite cake since you’re slow. hurry home or there’s none left for you,” the line was cut right after; which of course left poor tsukishima’s partner to deal with the aftermath. “tsukishima-san, about the report—”
“it must be so urgent that it needs my immediate attention even when i’m packing up right?” his words dripped of pure sarcasm despite the polite smile hanging from his lips. everyone could literally see the panic swirling in his partner’s pupil.
“i’m sorry!! good work today and see you tomorrow!!” it’s the weekend tomorrow, but tsukishima was too hung up on his son’s attitude to shoot another of his sarcastic reply.
you, on the other hand, were neither someone who would celebrate such occasion unless it was for birthdays or holidays. therefore, you didn’t really had anything in mind nor were you expecting anything as well.
when you finally reached home from a tiring day at work, you were definitely not expecting to see your favorite cake on the table while your son popped a party popper with a party horn in his mouth right beside you.
“happy mother’s day!” he tried to mumble out with the horn still in his mouth. you couldn’t help but chuckle at the unexpected surprise, dropping your bag on the counter just so you could hug him—one that he wholeheartedly hugged you back because tsukishima wasn’t around.
it took an hour for tsukishima to be home, a small bouquet of flowers in his hand when he walked over to where you and the cheeky lad was sitting. “oh! you didn’t have to though,” you smiled in surprise.
“dad’s just guilty he forgot about our promise and didn’t want to come home empty handed.” you chuckled at that, perhaps it wasn’t entirely wrong either but you still appreciate the sentiment. it was rare for him after all.
“those who break promises don’t get desserts.” he continued to press his dad’s buttons, only to see tsukishima loosened his tie with an expression he could not understand.
“oh, but that’s on your mom to decide if i’ll get one tonight or not.” you could feel your face heating up at your husband’s words, the tone and smile that dawned on his face was a look you knew oh so well.
“tch...i thought i hid it well.” of course, your clueless son didn’t know the true meaning of those words and thought the strawberry shortcake he bought for his dad was found out.
sugawara kōshi
sugawara would definitely plan in advance with the children. especially when they were the ones who excitedly wanted to do something for you.
“mama like animals! lets go to the zoo!” the middle child exclaimed with so much enthusiasm, sugawara could only chuckle at her adorable smile.
“you only said that because you wanted to go to the zoo, dummy.” the eldest one huffed, feeling proud that he saw through her obvious tactic.
it didn’t take long for the two to start crawling over each other in a fight while the youngest one giggled amusingly as if she was watching a performance. that was, until an insult was thrown at her so she joined in the fight to prove her worth.
“if you don’t stop now, we’ll be celebrating at home like how we did the past two years.” that immediately ceased all action, since they haven’t had the chance to go out together as a whole family thanks to your busy schedule.
“how about the park? the cherry blossoms have bloomed and mama likes going to the park!” of course, sugawara was fond of this idea. it’s been a while since there was a family picnic session.
and so on that very day in which you finally managed to take a day off, you weren’t expecting to be blind folded while having your children guide you to wherever you were supposed to be.
knowing how clumsy the trio could be, he wanted to accompany them as well but was outright rejected when they said they could do it themselves with so much confidence, he wasn’t sure who they got it from.
with their tiny hands, it took a while for them to tie the piece of cloth around your eyes, and even when they did, it wasn’t tied well enough so you could actually still see your footing (which saved you immensely from all the accidental knocks along the way)
after what felt like forever, you finally reached the park where they shouted ‘happy mother’s day’ in unison. you kind of already knew it’ll be a picnic from the soft grass beneath your feet and those fallen pink petals, but you were still moved to tears when you saw your children squeezed together into your husband’s arms while cute decoration and plates of food were spread between you and them.
“mama, try the cookie first! i made them myself!” the middle one was the first to break the silence.
“no! try my sandwich first, i’m the eldest!”
“so what if you’re the eldest? mama must be thirsty from walking so have my ultimate happy berry juice!” the youngest chirped with pride, as if her logic was a straight pass to winning.
you laughed at their competitive nature, which was oh so endearing at the same time. and it was obvious if you don’t decide soon, an all out food war was going to happen.
“before that, shouldn’t mama receive papa’s present first?” sugawara’s cheerful voice interrupted their little argument, and just before the youngest could ask what it was, her eyes was covered by the eldest son along with the middle one.
you couldn’t help but hit his arm in embarrassment when his lips met yours longer than it should’ve been.
“hey! that’s not fair, i didn’t get to see papa’s present,” your middle one sulked, only to be carried into sugawara’s arms as he peck her little cheek with a wink. “why don’t you ask mama what it was, baby?”
oikawa torū
it was supposed to be a big surprise where he came home earlier than the date he had told you. he even told the kids about it and they promised to make it a success (money was definitely involved to be honest)
“make sure you delay mummy at the grocery store long enough for me to set everything up in time.” he reminded his daughter time and time again, only to have her sigh at his impatience.
“i think i’m old enough to not forget something so simple dad. and please stop addressing mom like that, it’s creepy.” she cringed, wondering how you even deal with oikawa every day.
“dad, have you even baked a cake before? do you think you can get it done within an hour or maybe two?” his son asked the third time that day, which did irk oikawa with that tone of his.
“of course i can! are you looking down on me? it’s just a simple vanilla cake and some fruits on top. how hard can it be?”
of course, with every rhetorical question that pose a challenge, there would always be an answer exactly of what’s to be expected.
you, with no idea that your husband was making a mess of your kitchen, took your own sweet time at the grocery store since your daughter was there to help and it’s been a while since you had a mother and daughter bonding time.
“do you think your dad would like to have curry tomorrow? or should we just have hamburger steak?” you asked, still unsure of the menu for a celebratory dinner.
“i think he would like anything you cook, so don’t worry about it. dad’s always so happy to eat your homemade meals.” she answered with shrug, but you could tell she was happy to rely the same sentiment.
everything went smoothly and she did managed to stall your time with her longer than the agreed duration. that was, until she received a text from her brother saying dad’s cake was a failure and they should just get one outside; you two were already at the apartment lift when she read it.
“dad, i think you should just give up. they are already walking over from the—” oikawa having enough of his son’s constant nagging about how he should’ve just bought a cake instead, threw a whiff of flour to his son’s face without thinking.
and of course, which kid would not retaliate from that. the kitchen, which originally wasn’t as messy, turned into chaos of white fluff and sticky childish banter between the two.
you, not expecting to see your husband, was clearly surprise when you heard his voice by the door. the only excitement that came from that vanished the moment your eyes fell onto the state of your kitchen.
“happy mother’s day?” oikawa managed to choke out when he felt your growing presence with each step towards him.
“i’m sorry mom, it was my fault please don’t kill dad—” your son pleaded softly by the side, only to fell speechless when you threw yourself into oikawa’s arms instead.
“welcome home,” you greeted with so much warmth, oikawa couldn’t help but embraced you tightly as he replied, “i’m home.”
“mom? you’re not mad?” your daughter asked in disbelief when she brought the groceries – including the ones you dropped – over to the kitchen.
“mad? why would i be when you dad’s sleeping in the kitchen tonight.” you were so serious and certain, the two broke into fits of laughter as they ran from their father (which was fertile because they got caught immediately and was tickled to tears)
“why are you laughing when you two are having a sleepover with daddy tonight.”
“please dad, just stop.”
kita shinsuke
there was no surprises because kita’s way of celebrating was just regular activities but doing it together. which was honestly, what you love to do most since you don’t always get the chance of spending weekdays with your family often.
from preparing meals to visiting town, usually it would be done by kita himself. however, this time because of the special occasion, you took time off to accompany your husband while bringing your little ones along with you.
“mama here’s the carrot,” your little girl placed the orange vegetable on the chopping board before humming a tune while the other twin helped kita with picking the ends of the beansprouts.
“papa are we going to town later?” she beamed excitedly, hands still working on the tiny vegetable while her legs swung to the rhythm of her twin sister’s melody.
“yes, we are. do you have a place you want to visit?” he was done with his side so he continued onto the pile his daughter was removing.
“yes! we want to go to onigiri miya!” they both said at the same time, giggling right after when their father looked surprise.
“all right, let’s go after our lunch.” and everything went along smoothly with the little twins setting the table together while you and kita took turns to cook up the dishes. lunch was pleasant despite minimal words being exchanged since the twins were taught to not talk with their mouth full (and their mouth are always stuffed full)
while you and kita held hands with the twins walking hand in hand by themselves in front, the feeling of nostalgia seemed to tickle your bones at the memory of how you used to take long strolls with kita during your younger days.
“what’s wrong?” kita tugged your hand gently which snapped you back to reality when you realized you all have reached the store.
“nothing...i’m just grateful to be your wife and mother of two beautiful angels.” your smile had him press a fluttering kiss to your temple as he softly replied, “me too.”
“i see yer two are still as lovey-dovey as ever captain.” atsumu popped his head out from the entrance, both twins sitting comfortably on his arms as he carried them as if they were feathers.
“i’m not your captain anymore atsumu, but i see they both seemed to like you.” kita smiled at his two lovely dolls, one that atsumu have never seen much of because of his busy schedule.
“of course, who do you think i am? the better—” but before atsumu could even finish his flex, the two snapped their head over at the appearance of osamu in his apron. their hands immediately reaching out for the man to hug.
“uncle osamu!!” they squealed happily, trying their best to squirm out of atsumu’s grip.
“i guess not huh ‘tsumu,” osamu smirked at the annoyed twin, patting his hands dry before prying the little twins from his brother’s vice grip. of course, they both would fight over the kid’s affection. who wouldn’t right?
you watched the pair of twins in amusement with your head against kita’s shoulder as he wrapped an arm around your delicate frame. this too will be yet another moment kita would not forget, for he felt blissful to be their father and your husband.
