recently i’ve come to realize that i actually enjoy being a girl who is kind of permanently unkempt-looking because she just flat-out refuses to partake in most beauty rituals. like i used to look at other women and be like wowwww so sparkly and neat, not a single hair out of place... and now i’m like what freaking ever i will walk around with unshaven legs and an unshaven upper lip and my curls frizzing all over the place and my skin just the way it is without any paint to conceal anything and i’m happy like that and i don’t feel wrong or subhuman for it anymore. like to be clear i never did anything about it in the first place so it’s not that i’ve now abandoned practices i used to keep, it’s that i used to feel bad and gross and want to somehow work to achieve what seemed to come to other girls naturally and now i don’t feel that way at all. i’m sure people find it unpalatable and unacceptable and i know i could be ��pretty’ for real if i tried but i don’t care and i won’t try
