Baby, I have a slightly unusual idea.
How about writing a Paul x Reader where the reader recently moved to Forks and became really close friends with Emily? One day, she visits Emily’s house, and that’s when Paul imprints on her. But there’s a problem: the reader is still getting over a previous relationship that was very good and healthy but ended due to long distance.
For a long time, Paul and the reader’s relationship remains purely friendly. Paul develops romantic feelings for her, but she still has lingering feelings for her ex. Then, one day, they have a fight (you can decide the reason) and spend some time apart. Later, Paul sees the reader with her ex-boyfriend at the beach.
I’d love for it to be a long story with a romantic ending between Paul and the reader. I’ll leave it up to you how to resolve things with the ex to make way for Paul.
oh wowww my love 🩶 I would love to do this ! hope you enjoy :)
swept away - paul x reader
Tumblr media
Arms were crossed as you turned side to side, waiting for the cars to stop at a light or even better, let you cross the street.
You huff with a slight impatient stamp of your feet. The feet that had on shoes that earned you a compliment from a stranger.
You turn your head at the dark haired woman, “Thanks.” you say with a polite smile.
The dark haired woman was already smiling, but it turned bigger before she pressed the walking button on the pole.
“They never let you go. It’s ridiculous.” she says with a soft shake of her head.
“I know right.” you say with a breathy chuckle as the light turn yellow.
You both finally walk across the street once the cars stop at the red light.
A store where you could shop for less, you needed essentials. She apparently needed something like that because you found yourself holding the door open for her.
“Thank you.” she beamed at you.
“No problem.” you smile back as you both enter the store and the store clerk welcomes you both in the store and tells them to let you know if you need help finding anything.
“I love this store. Have you been here before?” the woman asks you as she’s already inspecting the shining jewelry that was on display. A shopping basket was hung on her arm now.
Your eyes tried their best to take in all what the store has to offer.
“Never been. It’s my first time.”
“I can tell you’re not from here.” she says and you both are at the same rack of clothes, scooting a hanger to look at the shirts.
“Is it that obvious?”
“It’s just that everybody knows everybody and a fresh face sticks out like a sore thumb….What’s your name?”
“Y/N. Yours?”
“Emily..So, where do you stay?”
“Forks. What about you?”
“La Push.”
“Where’s that?” you say as you press a shirt against you.
“It’s about 20 minutes West.”
“Do you come out to Port Angeles a lot? I’m liking it so far.”
“From time to time. I like to spend money and I try to avoid it as much as I can.”
You smile as you had the same problem. You both walk, veering off from each other. You actually get what you need while also treating yourself.
You smile at the fact that you’re behind her when it’s time to check out. She turns a bit and she sees you stands behind her in line. You look what’s in her arms.
Two cookbooks. A picture for home decor and a set of curtains.
“You like cooking and designing?” you ask.
“Yeah..This one is for muffins and this one has just desserts. Figured I try something new,” she says as she gestures the two books in her arms, “I want to change up my living room. It’s a new season.”
“I might need to borrow your eye. My new place has nothing on the walls and all I have is plain blinds that were already there when I moved in, not curtains.” you chuckle.
She chuckled as well as she started walking towards the cashier who was expecting her. She put her items on the counter as you went to another cashier who was open.
Before the woman named Emily, left, she made sure to exchange numbers with you.
“I love you already. You gave me an excuse to come back here with you. We can get some things to hook your new place up.” she promised with a smile. You couldn’t help but smile back.
That’s exactly what you two did. A week went by of texting and soon, you two were walking side by side, pointing at the different things that had the potential to make your home seem promisingly more attractive.
“Is it just you or are you seeing someone?”
“Just me. I left my old beau behind.” you say.
“I’m shocked that you’re single.”
“Wow, I’ve never received that compliment before.” you say with a lighthearted laugh.
You both entered your home and went right to work. It was fun. You only put up curtains during the times your grandmother would want to spring clean.
You would look at it as a chore.
With Emily, it was fun. You both laughed and talked.
“Are you seeing someone?” you ask her. She was beautiful and so nice.
“Yes. His name is Sam. I would love for you to meet him sometime.”
“Oh, yeah. I have to see your new and improved living room anyway.” you grin as you stepped back admired the picture that hung over your couch.
“You’re absolutely right.” Emily says with two hands on her hips, proud of the work you two put in. The next thing you two did was eat.
As you stared at your ceiling, in the new comforter that covered your body, you blinked at the darkness.
You didn’t know why you picked Forks. It seemed perfect. It was away from Seattle. A place you always wanted to leave from. Unfortunately, it was away from him. You underestimated how small the town was. You were glad though. This meant that friends were to be quickly made. You were grateful for Emily.
That was the last thought you had before drifting off to sleep.
In the morning, you stared at your phone, not caring that your cereal was getting soggy.
Emily invited you over.
You were excited.
She hugged you once she opened the door to your knock.
“Come in, come in.” she encouraged and practically pulled you in the home. It had a distinctive smell. A smell of warmth.
A man in a plain shirt comes in and politely greeted himself.
This was Sam. He looked intimidating until he gave you a smile that made your shoulders fall with ease.
“She’s told me all about you.” he grinned.
“I’m touched.” you admit as you smiled at Emily.
“Come and see the living room.” Emily says and takes your hand.
“This is so amazing. You did all of this by yourself.” you say with an impressed nod of your head.
“With Sam’s help of course. I definitely couldn’t reach to put those up.” she points to the curtains.
“And mine.”
The voice was unfamiliar but bold. You turn and see the man in the doorway taking in the environment. You took him in and he seemed to take you in with his eyes. They were unforgettable. He looked like trouble, but you didn’t mind that.
The feeling was strange however, it felt like you and him were the only beings in the room. No, the only beings on Earth. It felt like chains or a bind had wrapped themselves so tight around your soul and intertwined it with this man that you have never met before until now. A satisfactory hum flowed through you.
You turn back around as he moved himself away from the doorway to enter more into the living room.
“Yes. I can’t forget that you helped me too, Paul. And I thank you.” Emily says.
Paul entered the room and sits in the recliner and Sam makes a distasteful gesture, “That’s my chair.”
“When did Emily grave your name on it?” the man named Paul says.
You didn’t mean to breathe out a small huff of a chuckle but he grinned a bit as he saw the reaction that came out of you.
Sam steps forward and Paul gets up with a carefree grin and tone, “Chill out.” he says to Sam who only seemed to be annoyed with him. He pats Sam’s shoulder once Sam sinks into his chair.
“Get out of here.” Sam grumbled as he swatted Paul’s hand away as Paul sniggered.
“Come on, Y/N. We can try one of these recipes out.” Emily says with a smile.
You nod with agreement and let her lead you into her cozy kitchen.
The cookbooks she had bought were already cracked open on the long wooden table.
The table that Paul has sat down in. You pick one up and flipped through, reading ingredients in your head and looked at the pictures.
“I know you’re not in here to help out.” Emily says.
“I will.” Paul replied.
“Please. You’re just here so you can get first dibs.”
“What’s wrong with that?”
You and Emily chuckled a bit.
“When did you move here?”
You look up from the book slowly. The man blinked at you as he was sat back in his chair. You look down.
“Um…Like a good two weeks ago.”
“From where?”
“Seattle.” You say as you look back up.
“She stays in Forks.” Emily says.
“You have family here or something?” he asked.
“Nope..Just came here on a whim.” you answered.
“You’re probably saying that and you’re on the run from the cops or some shit.”
“Paul.” Emily rolled her eyes.
You grin a bit.
“What? You left Seattle and came to Forks. That’s questionable.”
“I wanted to go to a small town. I was a bit tired of the fast city life. I grew up with it all my life.” you admit as you turn a page.
Emily grabs a bowl as Paul says, “Well, you definitely got what you were looking for.”
“Hopefully.” you say quietly.
Paul watched as the batter was being added in the bowl and offered to stir.
Emily put the books away as you shake your head at Paul about to stir wrong.
“Does it really matter?” he asked in slight frustration. The faster to get them in the oven, the faster he could eat them.
“Yes. You’re supposed to like fold it. Not stir it like pancakes.” you say and take over. He watched. He stood close that you felt his body heat. You cursed your nervousness as he looked over your shoulder.
The light of the oven shined on the growing muffins as Sam entered the kitchen.
You look down and pretended your phone case was the most interesting thing to look at as Sam smooched Emily’s face.
You remember the giggles that once graced your face. The ticklish feeling of featherlight kisses. You missed it.
“I think they’re done.” Paul announced and was already opening the oven. You stand up as you sniffed the aroma.
You gasp and clasp your hand on his arm. You retract it quickly once he looked down at your hand.
“Are you crazy? You’ll burn yourself. Use these.” you say and hold up oven mitts.
“Watch.” he says as he splayed his hands and took out the muffins as if they weren’t straight out of the scorching oven.
“You are crazy.” you say quietly in confirmation. This earns you chuckles.
You answer as you look out the window. The phone was pressed to your ear.
“Hey.”
“Hey. Everything good?”
“Yeah. Everything’s great.”
“How was your day?”
You smile a bit, “It was good,” you walk away from the window as you let your eyes wander about your decorative room, “I met some people who are actually pretty welcoming and nice.”
“Oh, wow. What all you guys do?”
“Bake. Have fun. What about you? Did things get boring now that I’m not there?”
The chuckle he produced over the grainy line still warmed you up, “Hell, yeah…How’s that place treating you?”
“Good. The people made me comfortable…Enough about me. What about you? Save the world yet?”
“Ha, ha. Almost. But, no seriously, I called to let you know, I got the job…With how things are looking, I might be getting that promotion soon. They’re liking what I’m putting to the table.”
You freeze as you try to make out words. It was the thing that kept him back. The thing that made you two have differences for the first time. You two just simply wanted different things.
He wanted to stay in the hometown. You wanted to leave.
“That’s amazing…Wow…Congratulations….I really wish I was there to congratulate you in person.”
“I know…” you hear the smile in his voice.
You almost hold your tongue, but you couldn’t hold it. It’s been too long.
“I miss you.”
It’s silent and you start to regret your words but you hear, “I miss you too.”
Your heart jumps with joy.
“You do?” you whisper.
“You know I do….You ever think that maybe you could just come ba-“ you hear talking in the background before he sighs.
“Im gonna kill them I swear…I promise I will call you soon, alright? I gotta go.”
You chuckle a bit, “No worries. Talk to you later.”
The crunch of your footsteps made noises as you took in the breeze. It was jacket weather but you were surprised to see a figure with no shirt.
The muscles in their arms and chest flexed as they bounced the basketball against the hard pavement of the basket court.
A swish was made before he turned around.
“It’s creepy to watch people like that.”
You grin as you walk around the gate and enter the court. You bump Paul a bit, “Shut up.” you mutter.
Retrieving the basketball, you bounce it. The ping bouncing around you two.
Paul stared a bit before he unexpectedly steal the ball which made you groan. He smiled at your efforts to get it back but you freeze at his successful half court shot.
“Whoa.” you say quietly.
It was clean.
He retrieved it and bounced the ball as he circled around you with a smirk.
You sober up from being impressed. You cross your arms as you look at him, “You just got lucky.”
“Uh huh….I bet I can do that everyday.”
“Everyday?”
“Yeah.”
“Then why aren’t you pro?” you tease. You were a bit shocked at the fallen expression that was subtle. He went back to being neutral.
“You try then.” he says and bounced the ball back to you.
You grin as you throw it with a dramatic heave. It was an air ball.
Paul cackled as you rolled your eyes.
“I’m leaving.” you announce and leave out the gate but he keeps the ball under his arm and follows you.
“When you introduced yourself, you should’ve told me you were such a sore loser.”
“Would you quit it?” you say and touch his sweaty arm.
“You touch me a lot.” he says.
“You pick with me a lot.”
“I bet you like touching me as much as I like picking with you.”
“You shouldn’t be so cocky.” you say as you chuckle a bit.
“See? You didn’t even deny it.”
You groan as it was his turn to chuckle.
He goes to throw an arm around your shoulders but you duck as he laughed.
“Man, I’ll see you later. You’re getting on my nerves.” you say with a playful shake of your head.
As you walked, he called out.
“You wanna see a magic trick?” he says and you stop but don’t turn around.
“Does it involve sweat?”
He softly breathed out a quick laugh, “Not at all. Just follow me.”
You follow him. You didn’t recognize the area but it was nice to take in with your eyes. You walked through trees, away from the park and you stood in open space.
The birds chirped softly as you cross your arms and watch him set the ball down on the ground. You keep your eyes to the ball with a soft smile, thinking he was going to do something to make the basketball disappear.
“Alright. You gotta turn around.”
You look back up.
“That’s the oldest trick in the book. I turn around and you’ll leave me here.” you say humorously but deep down, you didn’t want to be left alone.
“I’m not going to leave you. I promise….It’s a transformation….You don’t have to be scared.” he explains.
“Like a….” you furrow your eyebrows with a questionable look. You didn’t know what to think but he just asked once more for you to turn around and when you look back, don’t be afraid of what you see next.
“Are you going to kill me?”
“Worse. You’re going to want to kill me.” he says.
It was suspenseful. So you turn around and next thing you know, you hear panting at the sight of the trees swaying side by side like a slow dance.
A loud crackling noise, almost sounding like electricity, bounced as you next heard a big heavy heave.
You blink as you were afraid to turn around but you still have your shoulders squared. You then relax completely once you felt a nudge because you figured Paul was making noises to mess with you.
You were ready to tell him how corny it was.
Only for you to gasp in total disbelief.
A shimmery live wolf was panting before you as it kneeled down. The eyes were friendly but the animal was just huge.
“Who’s…..Pet?” you just threw out because you knew it was a wolf, but for it to be so well trained, it was creepy.
“Paul?” you call.
The wolf responded and you stumble back some a bit but you don’t fall.
“What? How did you do that?” you stutter out.
The animal gets up and you can see the fluid muscles work with the fur. It circled you as you thought that you were dreaming.
“You’re not going to eat?”
You blinked at the full plate.
“Im not really hungry.”
“Y/N, you’re allowed to get freaked out.”
You look up and look at Paul who was nonchalant about everything.
“Is it hard? Did you freak out when it happened for the very first time? Wait. Were you born like this?”
“Which one do you want me to answer?” he asked with a slight smirk.
“All of them.” you whisper as you lean in. He leans in a bit too.
“The first time is always the hardest. I freaked out but I was mainly pissed. I was born normal it’s just that my wolf gene from my ancestors, was triggered. Growing up, we’re told the stories but I mean me, I didn’t ever think it would really happen.”
“Hm.” you hum as you look at the other people in the booths in the restaurant.
“You’re not scared, are you?”
“No.” you answer.
“Good.”
“I’ll still be your friend if that’s what you’re worried about.” you say quietly to him. He has an amicable look.
You thought things would be awkward but, you found yourself hanging everyday with him. He wasn’t as annoying as you tell him, he was actually nice to be around when he wasn’t out protecting.
He told you he calls them patrol shifts. On his turn, he has to scope out the area. Making sure no cold ones, vampires as known, come close to the reservation.
Lounging on his bed, you both simply talked.
“I don’t think I had a real real girlfriend. I don’t think I’ve dated anyone past two months.”
“That doesn’t even make any sense.” you say. A blind person could see that Paul had a face that made you believe he was off of the market.
“I’m picky.”
“Doesn’t seem like it.” you tease, earlier, your jaw dropped at a detailed escapade.
“We all have wants. But, I haven’t been able to find my need.”
“…I hope you find it.” you say as you look at a piece of string on his comforter.
“I found it recently.”
At night, you worried about him. You check your phone and the time was ticking.
You sigh softly into the dark room as you wanted to sleep but your mind kept you awake. You just wanted your thoughts to be swept away. It didn’t matter that Paul could turn into an animal. In a way, you felt it in your heart to be there for him if needed.
“We still keep in contact.” you say as you try out his gaming system with him.
“What’s the point? He’s your ex.” Paul says. He was grumpy. Groaning under his breath as he pressed down on the controller.
“Yeah, but we’re still friends. It’s possible to be friends with exes.” you playfully roll your eyes.
“So, if we were dating and I were to be friends with an ex, you wouldn’t have a problem with it.”
“No, because you don’t have one in the first place.” you burst out laughing in his face. He threw the controller down. You laugh again.
“You’re mad that I won.” you point at him.
“Whatever. That guy is probably taking some girl to bed as we speak.”
You sober up your laugh, “He would never do that. I know him.”
“Yeah, not so funny anymore isn’t it?”
You scoot off of the couch and go to his kitchen to get water.
“Our relationship was healthy. We knew…Well, know each other for a long time. He’s too busy with his work. He has dreams…He’s so smart…..When we ended things, things were respectable.”
“Not respectable enough…”
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
“Seems that no effort was put in to still be involved in each other’s futures.”
You blink at him.
You shake your head as you move out of the kitchen.
He sees you with a shoe in your hand and he points a bit at the shoe.
“Leaving?”
“Yeah. I’m putting in effort to do that.” He rolled his eyes in annoyance, “You're being dramatic.” “And you’re so fucking disrespectful.”
“And you don’t know what you want. You don’t know how to fully let go of something that’s supposed to be in the past?”
“How about I leave you in the past?” You grit to him.
You try your best to give him a powerful shove.
“Don’t push me. Keep your fucking hands to yourself.” He snapped.
“Don’t call me.”
“I won’t. Don’t ask me to come over.” he sneered.
“I won’t.” you hiss.
With that, the house that you were comfortable with being in, was out of your sight as you made your way back home.
Time was spent apart. There was an aching in your chest but you didn’t want to be ridiculous. You were sure that it was all in your head.
The only time it seemed to ease, was nights when you would want to sleep.
“I was thinking, since I don’t have work this weekend, we could talk all about it in person.” You gasp with happiness as you reply, “You would come here?”
“Yeah! I want to see how you’re all set up and everything.”
“Cool. I can even show you around.”
You hug him tightly after he made it in town. He entered your home and smiled.
“Really nice.”
“Really?”
He nods. His smile still made your stomach do backflips and he takes your hand.
“Come on, you said you’ll show me around.” He says.
Paul was tired of the annoying pain. Most of all, he would be lying if he said that his days weren’t starting to be lonely.
He slept under your window in his wolf form whenever he could.
He didn’t care to talk to anyone else. He didn’t want to talk to anyone else.
A sharp knock hit your door. He was going to apologize for the words being said.
A different scent intermixed with yours. His heart dropped because he knew it wasn’t a cold one. He was afraid that you met someone else.
The beach usually calmed him as his chest rose up and down. He was upset with himself at the fact that he let words that could’ve been avoided, be thrown out.
The smell of the sea and the sound of the waves went unnoticed by him because all he could smell was your scent. All he could hear was your laughter. All he could see was your body that was close to the guy you showed him.
Your ex.
He turned to walk away after studying the scene before him.
It was as if you two didn’t miss a beat. You two caught up on everything, he told you all about his job and how excited he was.
“I have to tell you something.” He says quietly and it made you pay close attention.
“What is it?”
“I miss you.” He says quietly.
You look down.
“Just come back home, Y/N. We could finally move in together just how we dreamed of. I finally make enough.”
You thought about it. When you come home, the face that you wanted to see whenever you come through the door, wasn’t his.
Paul’s face popped in mind. It startled you.
You lick your lips due to slight nervousness.
“I kind of don’t want to come back.” You whisper. You already were starting to love it here.
“I know.. You always wanted to see the world. We could travel in the summers.” He offered.
“I have to think about all of this to be honest.” You whisper.
“Of course..I’m not going to rush you.”
You hug him outside of your door as he has to leave.
“Can I call you when I make it back?”
“Of course. Drive safe. Please?”
He nods and he hesitates for a bit but he leans in and places a soft kiss on your cheek.
You watch as the car disappeared from your driveway.
Shaking their hands, they reminded you of brothers. You giggled as they were full of energy.
“You guys know Paul?” You ask as you munched on the new dessert you helped Emily make.
“Yeah.” The guy named Jared tells you.
“He um…He didn’t come over?” You ask.
“No. He’s at home.” A guy named Embry speaks out.
As they started falling into their own loud conversation, you packaged a treat.
“Hey, Em. I’ll be back.” You tell her quietly. She nods as she sits in Sam’s lap.
Slowly, you walked to his house. It felt like you were walking on clouds as you realize that you haven’t been on his street for a very long time.
He opened the door. A robe was around his body and was tied tight.
You two blinked at each other.
“Are you going to just stand there or come inside?” He asks in a soft but deep voice.
You slowly smiled.
“For me?”
You nod, “Yeah….It’s my peace offering. We both said mean things. I miss my friend. I miss you Paul.”
He took the container with a grin before he eyed you a bit.
“I came by your house a couple of weeks ago. To apologize…You weren’t there. So, I went to the beach and I saw you.”
“Really? How come you didn’t come to me? We could’ve hashed things then.”
“You were preoccupied with your ex.”
You look down and let out a soft breath.
“I wasn’t going to interrupt that.” He says.
“It’s okay. You weren’t interrupting anything.” You say as you sit down on his soft sofa.
He has a seat next to you.
“He came. Why? Are you two back together?”
“No….He wants me to come back home. He thinks we can work things out.”
Paul sits back in the couch and looks ahead. You look to the side at his exposed knee before swallowing.
“So, you’re leaving?”
You blink at the tears that didn’t fall down your face.
He looked at your face before letting out a tired sigh and rises up. You don’t know why you did it, but you clasp a hand on his wrist.
“Paul-“
“So that’s why you really came over. To tell me goodbye.” He says at you and slid his wrist out of your grasp.
“No. Let me explain-“
“Y/N, I’d much rather if you didn’t come-“
“I want to stay with you, Paul.” You blurt out.
He froze.
“I can’t leave. I don’t want to leave…I love it here…I’m glad that I met you.” You say as you look down.
“What do you mean you want to stay with me?” He whispered.
You couldn’t look him in the eye as you became incredibly shy.
“Y/N.” He called to you.
He takes your hand as he was back next to you.
“I think I like…You.”
“I like you too.” He chuckled but you take your hand out of his and rest your hand on your forehead.
“No, I mean like….” You sigh, “Never mind.”
“Go on, Y/N. It’s just me.” He encouraged.
His eyes were warm and friendly as you let your eyes swim in them.
“I didn’t want to work it out with him. I want what we had to be swept away. For good. I want to….I don’t want to be just your friend. I want us to…Try each other on.”
He doesn’t say anything and you immediately regret letting the words spill out.
“What would you do if I said I feel the same?”
You blink at him in disbelief.
“Would you like that?” He asks you.
A burst of butterflies formed in your stomach as you nodded slowly.
“You don’t care about the wolf thing?”
“No. Of course not…I accept you and all of you.”
He leans a bit and you stop breathing.
“I have to tell you something.”
You nod. A fear was developed. You braced yourself for him to tell you that he met someone. You would be happy for him, but you don’t know if you could handle it.
“Part of being able to shift into a wolf, we are given a gift. A gift of our other half. It’s called imprinting.”
You nod woodenly.
“I imprinted on you. You’re my other half.”
“Really?” You whisper. He nods.
“So…Does this mean I become a wolf…Too?”
He chuckled before shaking his head, “It just means that you will always be apart of my world. I can be your friend, protector, brother…Boyfriend..”
“Do you want…To?….Be my boyfriend?” You ask quietly.
“I do…”
You were breathless and even more so as you felt his soft lips grace yours. You kissed your ex but this made you feel like it was a joke.
A soft sound was made when you two separate. You bring your lips into your mouth to collect yourself.
“It’s about time…I felt this way about you for a long time.” He admitted quietly as he cradled the side of your face.
“Why didn’t you say anything?” You whisper.
“I thought you two getting back together was a possibility. That’s why I acted shitty when you told me you two were still friends.”
You roll your eyes, “Seriously? That stupid fight could’ve been prevented.”
“It could’ve…..But, it only brought you back to me.” He proclaimed and you laugh under your breath as he pulled you close enough for you to be squished against him.

La Push and Port Angeles

Dr. Cullen had been surprised when I had turned my folder into him on the same day that he had given it to me. I supposed I was supposed to have finished it over the weekend. Oh well, he should've made the questions harder then.
The week had been rather uneventful and now, I was riding up to La Push on my motorcycle. I hadn't wanted to go in Mike's car so I decided it would be better just to meet them all there. And that was exactly what I was doing.
I was ecstatic with how things were going. School was fine. I was alternating between sitting with the Cullens and sitting with Bella and her friends. Tyler and mine friendship wasn't as strong as mine and Sam's, but we still hung out a little bit.
And then of course, there was the hospital which was starting to become one of my favorite places on Earth.
I couldn't care less if Dr. Cullen and his family were vampires. Honestly, I reveled in the fact that these magical creatures existed.
I had done my research of course: Vampire Diaries, Dracula, Blood Ties, Vampire Academy, even I am Legend!
Hopefully, my hard work paid off and I knew a little more about what sorts of vampires the Cullens could be. It also got me to wondering if there were any other magical creatures that existed and whether or not they were dangerous or what sort of creature they'd be.
Part of me even suspected Sam was some sort of magical creature. He was startling tall when he'd been a shrimp at ten. Not to mention the sickening almost magical love between him and Emily. And of course, the heat of his skin. As a doctor in training, I knew he should be running a temperature and he was just fine.
But anyways. . .
Today was truly a wonderful day. It was maybe seventy-five degrees out- almost boiling hot for a place like Forks. The sun was shining and First Beach water was dark gray. I could see the rocks that made up the beach instead of sand. I knew that even though they were gray from far away, they were actually brilliant colours up close.
There were driftwood trees that were scattered hap-hazardely on the beach, white washed and bleached from the years in the sun and salt combined.
There was a forest off to the side that I was sure the Forks residents would want to go hiking through eventually. Meanwhile, there were actually quite a few people out on the water, surfing. I would have to get out on the water.
I loved the water. I loved swimming, I loved surfing and snorkeling and anything else you could do on water. I felt at home on the water.
I pulled up in the parking lot, parking next to Mike's van and then made my way down to the beach in my bathing suit and a wrap around my waist.
Mike and Bella were sitting next to each other as Mike started a driftwood fire. I watched the blue and green flames flicker up and heard Bella gasp.
". . .salt does it. Pretty, isn't it?" Mike asked, sitting back down on the log before Jessica turned to claim his attention.
"Hello Davina." Bella said as I sat down next to her.
"Hello Bella, how are you liking the sun today?" I asked cheekily.
"It's nice." Bella said quietly.
"You invited Edward on the trip, didn't you?"
"Yes, but he got all weird when I mentioned the beach." Bella replied.
"Hmm, that is strange. You're not going to prom either are you?" I asked.
"No, I plan on being out of town." Bella said. "You?"
"Eh. Tyler asked." I said, stretching back on my arms. "Along with a few dozen other boys. But I don't want to go to prom."
Bella and I chatted for another half hour about small things, sometimes with Angela chiming in on the conversation. However, as the boys got angsty about staying around the fire pit, they wanted to go hiking.
I thought that my cue to go up to the shop and rent a surfboard and wet suit. I zipped myself up in the black and blue suit, tucking the gun surfboard under my arm, making my way towards the ocean.
The minute my feet touched the water, my entire body relaxed and I closed my eyes. I was very quick to make my way out to sea, going out farther than the tourists and even the native residents.
My hands parted the water easily as I pushed myself against the waves as I prepared to stand. Once I did lift myself into a standing position, I could feel a swell of breeze as I made my way back towards the beach.
The waves weren't large today, much to my disappointment, so the ride was only gentle and calm, not adrenaline rushing like I preferred. But I wasn't really expecting anything else from Forks.
I stayed out on the water for most of the day, even when the others came out of the forest. I only went off when I saw Bella leaving with Jacob, Billy's son.
I padded over to the campfire, wincing when my feet hit the rocks. I did see an absolutely beautiful dull gold one and I picked it up.
There weren't may people from school left. Tyler and Lauren were the only ones, rummaging through CD's together.
"Hey Davina!" Tyler said as I came up, stretching. "How were the waves."
"Pathetic." I said with a grin. "I'm going to have to drive down to California to get monster waves."
I heard a sigh and I looked over to see Sam sitting with a few boys.
"Well hello Sammy boy."
One of the boys who had been drinking spit out his drink in a laugh. The other grinned.
"Hey shorty." Sam replied.
I scowled, "I can't help it if you're freakishly tall. I'm average height."
Sam laughed huskily.
"Anyways, food?" I asked.
Sam grinned, "Maybe we ate it all."
"I know you didn't because I know you knew I was on the waves which meant you knew that I was going to be hungry and you love me so where's the food?" I demanded, setting the gun board down.
Sam sighed, reaching behind him and handing me nacho doritos and a rootbeer.
I nearly squealed. "You got me rootbeer!"
"It's your favorite drink." Sam muttered.
I grinned. "Anyways, who are the ugly guys on either side of you?"
Sam snorted, "Jared and Paul."
I tried telling them apart before finally turning to the boy I suspected was Paul. "You're Paul?"
"How did you know?" Paul asked.
"You're still as scrawny as you were when you were a kid." I smirked, "I bet I could still beat you in a wrestling match."
"Oh you're on." Paul said, a maniac glint in his eye. "You're not a little girl anymore."
"No." Sam said shortly. "Not today Davina."
"Fine." I said exaggeratedly, sitting down next to Sam, making Paul budge over. I noticed his skin was also boiling hot.
"Sam said you got an internship at the hospital?" The other boy who must've been Jared asked. "How. . . is that?"
"Fine." I said with a shrug. "I've learned a lot. Dr. Cullen really knows what he's doing so-"
I closed my eyes and flinched as I felt the sticky soda explode on my left side. Paul had squeezed the can so hard it had exploded.
"Paul." Sam barked.
"I'm going to return my surfboard." I responded coolly, getting up without looking at Paul and picking up the surfboard. I made my way back to the shop, giving back the wet suit and the surfboard. I now wished I had a towel that I could use to wrap around me.
Oh well, it was just about time to go home anyways. I debated saying good-bye to Sam but decided against it.
I made my way over to the motorcycle and saw Sam leaning against it.
"Down boy." I said with a bit of a smile.
He rolled his eyes. "So endearing. I wanted to apologize for Pauls' behavior tonight. He has a lot of anger issues and he's still sorting them out."
I was quiet for a moment, looking at the sun setting, making Sam's bronze skin almost glow in the faint light. His eyes, dark and warm, yet slightly haunted from his past and possibly whatever he was going through now.
"Sam?"
He blinked at my serious tone. I was never serious.
"Yeah?"
I paused and then asked, "What are you?"
Sam didn't move a muscle staring into my eyes, gauging my reaction. I tilted my head slightly, analyzing his build. "I know. . . I know you're different. You're not the same as when we were kids. And I don't mean the build of your body, although I think the height and muscle probably contributes a bit. . . but the heat of your skin. I thought maybe it was just a native thing. . . but the man at the surfboard shop had normal temperature. And you hate the Cullens."
"I can't- Davina go home." Sam said, getting up off the motorcycle. "You watch to many movies."
"Really? I watch to many movies and I'm the fool for believing you're different? Says the guy who believes the Cullens are vampires because of your Quileute legends!"
"That's different." Sam said shortly.
I felt like I would cry. Sam was my closest friend, almost my brother. And yet he wasn't going to tell me what was with him?
"S-Sam." My voice cracked and we both winced. I sucked in breath and whispered, "Fine. I'll figure it out on my own."
I swung my leg over my motorcycle, backing it out with my feet before starting it.
"Davina." Sam said in a warning voice but I ignored him, bringing the bike to life and roaring out of there.
----------------
I was in a bad mood at the internship the next few days and Dr. Cullen knew it. He said nothing though, leaving me in my peace and silence. And it wasn't like I was mad at him and I didn't bring my anger out on anyone but myself.
Sometimes, I thought maybe he could hear me in the office next to him. Well, that wouldn't be a surprise. In every Vampire movie ever they had amazing hearing so there was that.
Once I finished my work, I headed to his office, taking the long way instead of the short cut, knocking on the door.
"Come in." He said.
He was working behind his desk and he didn't even look surprised to see me.
I loved his office. He had several bookcases in here that were filled with books, not all of them medical. I loved skimming them on the few days I worked in his office, in silence, on the couch. It was a rather comfortable couch and sometimes, I found myself wondering if he ever slept on it when he had long shifts at the hospital. But then I wondered if he could even sleep.
"Hello Miss Michaelson." Dr. Cullen said, putting his pen down and folding his hands on top of his desk. "Are you finished for the day?"
I hesitated and then said, "I was wondering if I could work in here today. I'm. . . just not liking the silence of my office to much. I don't mean we have to have conversation, I just want to be around someone right now."
"Of course."
Merlin I loved his voice.
I gave him a brief smile, settling on the couch. I was in a more relaxed mood and I curled up in the corner of the couch between the back of it and the arm.
The silence was comfortable and I was relaxed immensely. I didn't look at him directly, only listening and also observing.
He went very long periods without breathing and only breathed as though it was a reminder that I was in the room. Often times, when he did breathe, they were shallow and when they were deep, he clenched his pen tightly as though restraining himself. I wondered if it was my blood he could smell and if it was tempting to him.
I noticed that he usually wasn't affected by the smell of blood. He could work rather calmly and smoothly. However, when around me, he seemed to hold his breath. Why was I different? Did I smell different?
After a while, I pretended to finish my office work- cataloging real patients blood work in envelopes to be sent to their houses for cancer tests- and asked quietly. "I have a random question."
"Sure."
"If a Vampire had a mortal enemy, what do you think the magical creature would be?" I glanced at him briefly.
He looked rather taken aback and I noticed that the grip on his pen had tightened even more than when he took in his deep breaths. If he wasn't careful, he was going to crush his pen.
"I suppose a werewolf maybe?" He questioned. "I'm not really sure."
A werewolf. Yes, that made sense. Werewolves and Vampires usually were enemies. Should I go visit Sam on a full moon and see how he reacted?
"Was there a particular reason for this question Miss Michaelson?" He asked, frowning slightly.
"I was trying to figure out what Sam was." I answered honestly. "And you being a Vampire was my best source of information."
Dr. Cullen was completely frozen now and I glanced at him nonchalantly. "Dr. Cullen?"
He seemed to swallow and he asked, "I- did the kids-"
"No. No one told me." I answered, shifting into a sitting position before getting up, and sliding the completed folder onto his desk. "I just knew. Have a good day Dr. Cullen, I'll see you Wednesday."
And with that, I walked out of the room, closing the door behind me. I didn't realizing I was smiling until I started home on my motorcycle. And then I realized, Sam's a Werewolf.
-----------------------
"Would you like to go shopping with us tomorrow?" Angela asked me as I sat down next to her at the lunch table. It was day two of the Cullens not being in school which made me wonder if they actually burned in the sun.
"I thought you guys went last night?" I questioned as I helped myself to some pizza.
"Mike asked Jessica out on a date so we're going tonight instead. And even though you're not going to the dance, I knew you wanted new clothes."
"Yes, thank you. I would love to come. Here-" I wrote my address down on a piece of paper and gave it to Angela. "That's my address so Jessica knows where to pick me up."
"I'll let her know. We're leaving right after school. We'll probably pick you up last though so you'll probably have more time to get ready." Angela said.
I chuckled, "Thanks."
I hadn't seen or talked to Sam since our spat so I was stuck driving myself home now. Not that I minded, I loved riding my bike. But I also was starting to feel quite alone. It was bad enough my parents and brother were dead and I had about zero friends.
Well, let me correct. Zero real friends. I was bubbly and hyper and a complete geek and so everyone always thought that just about everyone was my friend. But when you put it to the test, it's not real friendship.
I needed Sam. It was like a heartache. I couldn't live without having Sam in my life, not here. I'd always had Sam, whether it was when we were kids, or when I lived on the army base and we wrote each other letters, or now when I moved back and he was the caring brother. I needed him.
But I was stubborn. I wanted him to come and apologize to me first. He could've just told me he was a damn werewolf. I would've kept my mouth shut. Why didn't he trust me?
My thoughts continued to run wild as I searched for an outfit that I could go out in. Finally, I chose a long sleeved-white shirt with the word Angel written on the collar in black. A red top with a pocket, zipper, and belt on it. The white shirt was tucked into my one and only skirt- which was to short to wear at the hospital.
I wished I had knee high boots to complete the look, but I just slipped on my combat boots instead. I lifted my hair into a ponytail, curling the ends of it quickly before applying dark makeup and grabbing my purse. I shoved my phone, money, and some pepper spray into the bag, slinging it across my shoulder.
Tumblr media
I found that Jessica was just pulling up to the house, her eyes wide as she glanced at my house. Was it impressive compared to hers? I had no idea. But most of the houses here were Victorian. This was an older section of the neighborhood. They are also spread a bit further apart with large backyards as they were usually farm houses.
I opened the back door, sliding in next to Angela.
"You look cute." Jessica squealed, her eyes taking in my outfit.
"Thanks." I said, flashing her a grin.
Jessica drove fast so I knew the trip wouldn't be long. She played Led Zepplin on the radio- not really my favorite. Rock's not really my music type- and chatted all about her date with Mike yesterday. And she was talking about how she hopped they were going to get to the kissing stage by the dance.
Maybe it was because I was infatuated with a God like Vampire but I really couldn't see how anyone thought Mike was handsome, good-looking, or even cute.
Angela was a bit disappointed in the fact she was going with Eric. She liked him, but apparently he wasn't her type. I had a sneaking suspicion that her type was actually Ben Cheney, but I didn't say anything. I wasn't Jessica after all.
Port Angeles was a nice coast city. The board walk that led out to the docks and whatnot. However, Jessica and Angela took us straight to the department store. I went off on my own for just a little bit.
I wasn't really the type of girl to try something on. I just looked at it, held it up against me in the mirror, checked if it was my size, and then debated whether or not to buy it.
I bought a few new pairs of jeans, a couple skirts, a few blouses, a new leather jacket, and a few other items that I felt I needed.
I met up with the others in the shoe section, trying on heels as they already had their dresses.
I bought myself a new pair of sneakers that were gray and light pink and would go well with my nurse scrubs. I also bought myself a pair of knee high boots that complimented the outfit I was wearing right now so I tore off the tags and wore them with the outfit.
There were also heel pumps and combat boots with heels that I bought. The pumps would be for at the hospital along with the sneakers.
At the moment, Jessica was at a counter, trying jewelry. Angela was trying on pink heels at the moment.
"Angela?" Bella asked quietly.
"Yes?" Angela asked behind me. I was pretending to be bent over, fixing the zipper on the knee high boots.
"I like those." Bella said.
I glanced behind me to see the pink heel on Angela's foot.
"I think I'll get them- though they'll never match anything but the one dress," Angela muttered.
"Or a white pantsuit." I replied.
"Very true."
"Oh, go ahead- they're on sale." Bella encouraged. She looked like she was hesitating about something so I turned back around, fixing the shoe boxes in my bag. I had several bags filled with clothes and I was hoping I could put it in Jessica's car so I didn't have to carry everything around.
"Um, Angela. . . Is it normal for the. . .Cullens to be out of school a lot?"
"Yes, when the weather is good they go backpacking all the time- even the doctor. They're all real outdoorsy."
So that's why Dr. Cullen hadn't had me come in the past couple days. He had probably known the weather was going to be nice.
So if they went backpacking in the sun, did that mean they didn't burn? Or maybe they didn't go backpacking at all. Maybe they hid in the house.
"Oh." was all Bella said. Angela didn't ask any questions and neither did I. Jessica came back with rhinestone jewelry that I thought looked a bit cheap, but I supposed if it was what she wanted to wear, so be it.
Upon exiting the store laden down with shopping bags, Angela and Jessica said we could go put our things in the car before going down to the bay. Bella on the other hand wanted to go book shopping. She also denied Jessica and Angela going with her, saying she got really caught up in books.
"I'll go with her." I declared. "I absolutely love books so this could be a chance for me to get something new as well. You guys don't mind taking my stuff back to the car, do you?"
"Not at all," Angela replied sweetly and the two of them split my bags between the two of them, giving Bella directions on how to find the bookstore.
Bella and I set off in comfortable silence until we approached the place that Jessica had mentioned. However, upon looking inside, it looked more like a store that would be down on the Quileute rez. Dream catchers hung in the windows, books on healing properties, and the shelves were lined with different coloured crystals.
Bella and I looked at each other before deciding to keep on walking, looking for another bookstore.
I had a bit of a headache and as Bella and I continued to walk, I closed my eyes, hoping for relief. I hadn't drunk as much water as I should've in the past couple of days, but I had never been very good at that. I always got distracted with homework and work, forgetting to eat and drink. Plus a bit of a lack of sleep.
The next time I opened my eyes, I was basically alone. I looked around in a panic and realized that Bella was neither ahead of me, nor was she behind me.
"Ah bollocks!" I cursed. My headache started to pound. I pushed my cool hand against my forehead like that would do anything.
I pulled out my phone, calling Bella but there was no answer. Damnit, I don't even think she had a cell phone, this was her house number.
I figured, based on my slow pace so I hadn't bumped into anything, that Bella was probably ahead of me so I started walking faster, glancing down alleyways to see if I could find her.
I looked up at the sky, trying to guess what time it was. The sky was growing dark, the clouds drawing close. There was still some pink, orange, and purple in the sky so I knew it was getting very close for the sun to set and I was still riddled with indecision.
I could go back, find my way to the Italian restaurant so that I could find Angela and Jessica- and maybe Bella was there, freaking out about me being lost- or I could keep going and search for Bella.
I could hear a group of men wolf-whistling and I was slightly worried about whoever they were whistling at so I hurried around the corner, ducking into the shadows. I saw the back of Bella and felt relief wash over me. I hid as the men passed by, not noticing me crouching in the corner.
"Bella!" I called once I felt they wouldn't hear me.
Bella spun and relief flooded her face, "I couldn't find you!"
"Sorry, I. . . got distracted." I had no way to explain what had happened.
"We should probably go back." Bella mentioned.
I nodded, "Yeah, I'm getting hungry. And Jessica and Angela are probably getting pretty worried."
It was definitely darker now and we started back up the way that we had come. My senses were heightened, burning as my eyes darted around, looking for any dangers. My nerves were tingling and my hand crept into my purse for the pepper spray in case I needed to pull it out and give someone a good one.
I let Bella led as my senses were all jumbled and I couldn't exactly remember the way back. I had a tendency to get lost as I usually spaced out quite a bit.
Bella quickened her pace after throwing a glance over her shoulder and I glanced back as well before seeing two men behind us. They weren't close, about twenty feet back, but I started quickening my pace as well.
"We need to get out of here." I muttered, hooking my arm with hers.
She still led, keeping her pace quick as we made our way up. There were no cars, no people, we weren't in the right section of the city. This was bad. My nerves spiked even more and at the pace I was trying to make Bella go, she would trip over her own two feet and that wouldn't be good.
Finally, we darted around a corner before coming to a stop. There were two more men in front of us.
"There you are!" His voice was booming and my headache was back in just a few seconds.
"Yeah," the voice behind us said. "We just took a little detour."
"Right, Bella, I'll distract them. You run and get help."
"That's a bad idea Davina." Bella murmured.
I scoffed, "There's no such thing as a bad idea. Only poorly executed awesome ones."
"Is that a quote from something?" Bella asked in a panic.
"Vampire Diaries. Damon Salavatore. Season two episode 15." I rattled off confidently.
"Never seen it."
"You're totally watching it after this." I muttered. "Alright now go."
Bella took off running, past the two men in the alleyway and the four of them let her go, turning on me.
I gritted my teeth.
Alright then, show time.

Cat meditation and Olympic National Park
Monday, August 23rd, 2021
CAL - After nearly two weeks of constant company from the large, bald one, I was finally given a break this weekend. Around nightfall, on Friday she left the house without so much as a goodbye. Judging from the size of her bag, I estimated that she would return on Monday morning. Having 2 full days to myself, I engaged in my own form of silent meditation and am just starting to make sense of this past year on the road.
Tumblr media
MICHELE - After two full weeks without adventure, I finally left our temporary home to explore Olympic National Park. The adventure started on Friday evening with a 30-minute ferry ride from Coupeville to Port Townsend. The boat was small and the route is popular, for this reason, reservations are highly recommended.
Upon arrival in Port Townsend, I made the 1.5-hour drive to a private campground, just outside of Port Angeles. My little RV proved to be the perfect jumping-off point for the most well-known sites in the park.
Unlike most National Parks, this one spans nearly 1000 acres, which includes highways and entire towns. It’s broken down into areas of interest, each with its own park entrance kiosk and visitor center. It can be overwhelming and difficult to navigate, especially with the lack of cell service throughout the area. Luckily I planned ahead!
On Saturday I started the day with the hour-long drive to the town of Forks. I made a quick stop for breakfast and coffee at “A Shot in the Dark”, a drive-through coffee hut. Upon arrival at the Hoh River Rainforest, I waited approximately one hour to enter the park, due to the parking lot being full. For any summer visits to the park, I’d recommend budgeting extra time for this reason.
I spent most of the afternoon hiking the Hoh River trail, in search of a place called One Square Inch of Silence. Located 3.2 miles into the forest, this space has been designated as the most silent place in North America. I followed the directions provided by OneSquareInch.org and found the location on my first try.
After successfully experiencing the silence of the rainforest, I took about 20 minutes to peek into the Hall of Mosses, the better-known trail in the area. On the way back to Port Angeles, I passed through Forks again, stopping at the Subway in the 76 gas station for lunch. A short, 15-minute drive landed me at Rialto Beach for a picnic with one of the most dramatic views I’ve ever experienced. If possible, I’d recommend arriving at Rialto during low tide.
By the time I was heading home, it was already starting to get dark. I made my final stop at the Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort for a quick soak. For just $15 of admissions, you can enjoy up to one hour of soaking time in 3 different pools. The full capacity is 100 people, so reservations may be required. I personally found the facilities to be overcrowded and left after just 20 minutes.
For Sunday, I focused on exploring the sites closer to Port Angeles, starting with Hurrican Ridge. This is a must-see if you are ever in the area!
After a 45-minute drive up a mountain, I landed at one of the most beautiful views to date. The visitor center alone is worth the drive up the hill. After consulting with a park ranger, I decided to hike the 1-mile loop, called Cirque Rim, just outside of the visitor center and Hurricane Hill, which is a 3.2-mile (round trip), paved pathway to a stunning, 360-degree view of the Strait of Juan de Fuca and the Olympic Mountains.
After a morning of hiking, I enjoyed a late lunch in Port Angeles and then headed over to Lake Cresent Lodge for a slow amble along the beach and then to the Salt Creek Recreation Area to sit on the rocky beach as the tide came crashing in for the evening.
After a long day, I ended up back at my home base with a pint of ice cream for dinner. After a brief encounter with Netflix, I slept like a rock before waking up at 6am to catch the ferry back to Whidbey Island. What a whirlwind weekend! I could have easily stayed at Olympic National Park for a full week.

October 11th-November 8th, Washington
Tumblr media
Gae took Raina to puppy class on October 15th, where she did very well, considering her fear of everything that moves:-)
Tumblr media
I made some noodles on the 15th, a favorite for both of us.
Tumblr media
We attended a Port Angeles Garden Club meeting at the Dungeness River Nature Center on the 16th, where the coordinator gave a a fascinating presentation about the center and ongoing restoration projects.
Tumblr media
We got out mushroom hunting on the 18th along the Olympic Discovery Trail, which we all love.
Tumblr media
The area is heavily picked, but I foraged enough for a nice batch of wild mushroom soup.
Tumblr media
We went to Rialto beach, west of Forks, thinking Raina could run on a beach for the first time ever. Must look at the tide charts before making the trek next time... the waves were crashing within 20 feet of the logs at the top of the beach!
Tumblr media
The Garden Club co-sponsored a Gold Star marker at the Captain Joseph house, which was dedicated on October 25th.
Tumblr media
I thought our 28" high raised beds were safe from the dogs, but not, apparently, if there is a critter rooting around them. More fencing?
Tumblr media
I volunteered with Stream Keepers on the 27th to record several metrics at 3 places along McDonald Creek. Interesting, but chilly work, on a 40 degree day:-)
Tumblr media
We walked to the coastline after finishing the last measurements... beautiful spot.
Tumblr media
We had 10 yards of Alder chips delivered on the 28th, which were quickly spread to cover cardboard we had laid over more grass. Raina loved playing queen of the hill:-)
Tumblr media
Gae performed her duty as civic beautification leader with the Garden Club on November 1st, cleaning up "Betty Loo's" garden bed just down the street from the ferry terminal.
Tumblr media
November 2nd, we tour of a yard in Port Angeles that had been awarded the Garden Club quarterly beautiful yard award. Everyone loved the colorful use of glass and other decorations all around the yard.
Tumblr media
We got this nice picture of Rob and Ben enjoying a walk through Schmidt's Park in West Seattle on the 5th.
Tumblr media
The third civic cleanup during this period was at the gardens around the Blue Star Marker along Lincoln Street... good work Ladies!!

Moving to Forks, WA and Ruby Beach (aka our first time in the Pacific Ocean!)
After 5 nights enjoying life in Port Angeles with the view of the Olympic range right outside the door it is time once again to get wheels spinning! As we packed up we noticed it was starting to be quite a hazy/smokey day...having no idea what we'd soon encounter.
With the truck/trailer packed we headed to Forks, during our drive back through the Crescent Lake area we stopped at the rangers station to fill up water bottles and to take in the breathtaking (in more than one way) smoke over the water and mountain range.
Thankfully we were able to make it through all of the smoke with no trouble and arrived at our new home for a few nights in the rainiest town in the continental US.
Since we arrived early in the afternoon there was plenty of time to see the beach and ocean! After unpacking and unhitching we headed to Ruby Beach. What a place, the beach has some sheen of ruby in the sand (hence the name).
After a small picnic beachside we headed back to camp for a restful night. With excitement brimming for the Hot Rainforest, we laid down for the evening.

CH. 2
February 2005
It was a cold and cloudy Wednesday morning as you got ready for school, but for some reason you had a bad feeling about today. At first you just brushed it to the side, thinking yourself paranoid, but by third period, that feeling came back, this time settling into the pit of your stomach and it was hard to focus in French as you kept reading the same sentence in your textbook. The class was quiet as everyone finished the assignment on the board with a few minutes left in class. You found yourself drifting off all day; teachers had to call on you more than once to pay attention to lessons and you couldn’t focus on your work. Mrs. Goff looked up from the computer and looked at the clock and stood up.
“There’s five minutes left of class, so go ahead and start packing your things. For those of you who are finished with the assignment, go ahead and put it on my desk and make sure your name and class period is on it. We’re in the middle of the school year, I shouldn’t have to keep reminding you. For those of you not yet finished, take it home and do it for homework. We will be going over this first thing tomorrow when you walk in.” You looked down at your paper, thinking you were done with your work but you had only done two questions and you had eight left; you’d spent the entire period drifting off, a new record for you. You packed your things slowly, putting your paper in the assigned folder and using the folder to mark your page. “Y/N, can I see you for a minute?” The last of the students were shuffling out of the room when she called you to her desk.
“You’re not in trouble, I just want to talk to you for a second.” Mrs. Goff had a round face with kind brown eyes with shoulder length brown hair, and she always had natural looking makeup. When you stepped in her class on your first day, you liked her automatically. Now she gestured for you to sit in the desk in front of her and she sat on her desk, swinging her feet. “Is everything okay? Are you adjusting okay?”
You had been in Forks for exactly one month, and it has been peaceful; you were able to actually do normal things a girl your age should be doing. It was very refreshing. You had no idea how long this moment of bliss and peacefulness would last, so you just enjoyed the time you had, taking one day at a time, though you knew it was bound to end sooner or later. You were still jittery every time you heard a branch snap or the bushes shake in the backyard, thinking someone was able to see into your bedroom window. You wanted to tell her that you still feel on edge every time you hear a small animal in the bushes or a branch snap in your backyard thinking someone finally found you and was watching you through your bedroom window.
But you didn’t tell her, she doesn’t need to be burdened with your paranoia, so you told her a sugar coated lie, which technically wasn’t a lie at all. “Pretty good. Everyone’s been really nice so far, but I still feel pretty lost without my causes. I think that’s been the most challenging.” As much as you loved having weekends to sleep in and have time to yourself, you missed your charities. Back home, you worked with several organizations that helped the UK’s most vulnerable citizens. You spent time playing with sick children, helping out at food banks and animal shelters and accompanied your parents when they spoke on panels.
You missed it. “Y/N, if you want to get involved, there are some great charities in the area you can help with. There are some food banks and animal shelters that can really use the help. I think you might be perfect for it.” Mrs. Goff went back behind her desk and pulled out some flyers printed on brightly colored paper and handed them to you. A flyer for an animal shelter in Port Angeles, a flyer looking for volunteers to help with a food bank in Seattle, and a beach clean-up in a place called La Push. “Thank you so much! I’ll let my parents know!”
The teacher smiled as you gathered your bag and left the room, the papers gripped in your hand. The hallways were thinning out as kids met up with friends, made their way to various sports practices and club meetings as you grabbed some things from your locker. You noticed there was some commotion at the front door, with people shouting but you just assumed that a fight had broken out between students until you saw Coach Clapp and Mr. Varner headed toward you, but you ignored it as you grabbed your Algebra and English books along with some folders. The two men stopped in your direction and they looked pretty grim. “What’s wrong? Is everything okay?”
“We have to escort you out of the building. There’s a bunch of reporters in front of the school, someone must’ve leaked your location. If we’re careful, maybe we can sneek you out the back, behind the auditorium. Grab what you need and hurry up.” You dumped the books in your bag and grabbed your jacket, not even bothering to put it on even though it was thirty-six degrees outside. There weren’t any students on this side of the school; you guessed everyone was either in their after school clubs or on their way home to get away from the cold. Coach Clapp and Mr. Varner stood in front of you in case there was someone with a camera, but the coast was clear. The auditorium was a no parking zone, but there was a nondescript black car with tinted windows, and the backseat door opened.
You climbed in and the door slammed behind you; there was a man who you didn’t know in the driver’s seat and next to him, your dad. “Sweetheart, I’m so sorry about this. They found your mum first earlier today. Someone from the Palace must’ve told someone in the press. I just know it was your uncle but I wouldn’t be surprised if your grandfather also had a hand in it.” You haven’t seen your father this angry since last year when you snuck out of bed one night to get a snack. He had his back to you as he whispered harshly into his cellphone; you had snuck back to your room before he could even turn around. “Is mum okay?”
“She’s fine. At home waiting for us.” You buckle your seatbelt as the car pulls around to the front of the school and you can see the reporters and photographers standing in the drop-off zone. The principal and other male teachers and faculty members tried to keep them at bay, and they were even trying to get answers out of your teachers and classmates as they made their way out of the school. You briefly wondered how long it would take them to realize that you weren’t even in the building; it was quiet the rest of the way home and you started to relax as soon as you reached your house at the edge of town, bordered by the woods. You felt safe as the car went up the drive and pulled into the garage and you got out of the car.
When you reached the kitchen, your mom was sitting at the kitchen island with her laptop open and one of her former palace aides, Claire sitting next to her. “Mum! Are you okay? Did they get you?” “I got out through a back exit, they dropped me off at home and then went to get you.” You told her about your escape route, wondering aloud as to who could’ve leaked your information. “It wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest if it was your uncle. Probably to take the heat away from Olivia.”
For months now, everyone in the aristocratic circle has known that your cousin is known to engage in underage drinking and partaking in drugs, and you’re pretty sure the same people who publish articles about how your skirt is too short or how your favorite clothing brand is somehow linked Muslim terrorists had been told not to report on it. Later that evening at dinner, your parents were coming up with plans on how to move forward now that your location is known. “We might as well release a statement and get it over with. Mum, Dad, we had to have known that this was going to happen sooner or later and the longer we keep silent, the more time the press has to create more lies and more drama.” You were never one to lose your temper often, so you took your parents by surprise by your outburst; you could see them considering your plan, and your dad scooped another helping of mixed vegetables on his plate. “So Y/N, what do you propose we do?” he asked you.
“We release a statement confirming that we live here and thank the people that have helped us adjust and supported us through this. Clearly, not saying anything is doing more harm than good.” After dinner was over, you finished your homework in your room and got ready for bed soon after, then picked out your outfit for tomorrow. You hoped you knew what you’re doing.

Second Chance- Charlie Swan x OC
Charlie Swan x Eleanor Martin
Description: Charlie and Eleanor are planning their wedding, and Eleanor becomes curious about why he seems to be demanding things to be better than perfect so vehemently.
Word Count: 1.4k
Tumblr media
The day that Charlie proposed to Eleanor had been the happiest day of their lives. It had been while they were out fishing. They had been taking a break and eating lunch when Charlie just pulled out a ring and proposed right then and there. Now, it wasn’t anything special by any means, but Charlie was never one for showing a lot of sentimentality. To Eleanor, it was absolutely perfect.
Everyone they told was ecstatic. The Cullens even decided to throw a party and invited the Quileute pack to celebrate when they told them. Their friends pulled out all the stops to help them plan the wedding. It made things much easier that Charlie knew about the supernatural so he could mediate in case there was a disagreement (and there were several).
No one was surprised that the Cullens demanded for everything to be perfect (especially Alice and Bella). They were, however, surprised that Charlie had been demanding the same thing and making sure it went into effect. If something wasn’t up to his standard (or Eleanor’s) he would push and fight until it was. Eleanor, and everyone else really, had never seen that side of him. As a matter of fact they didn’t even think he had such a side. But it wasn’t too unbearable, so they dealt with it.
Finally, after months of careful planning, looking at venues and trying cakes, dinner foods, tuxes and dresses, everything had been set. Now it was the night before the big day. It was a very peaceful night, one that they needed after such a stressful process of planning. Neither Charlie nor Eleanor saw the point in spending the night before the wedding away from each other, so they just lounged around the house. They sat on the couch, Charlie sitting on the far right side of the couch while Eleanor laid against his side with his arm around her. Music played in the background, but aside from that it was completely quiet.
“Can I ask you something, Char?” Eleanor asked softly, breaking the silence and tranquility of the environment. The man in question lifted his head a bit and looked at her, humming in response.
“Why are you so insistent on everything being absolutely perfect? Of course I don’t mind, but I thought that was the bride’s job,” she said with a teasing smile. “You know, with the whole ‘bridezilla’ thing.” That earned a laugh from Charlie, which made her smile widen. He shook his head, but he didn’t actually answer for a few minutes. He seemed to be deep in thought, so Eleanor opted to stay silent as she watched him.
“Have I ever told you about how Renee and I got married?” He finally asked, looking at her once again. Eleanor thought for a moment, going over anything either he or Bella had told her about his ex-wife.
“No, I just know you got married when you were pretty young,” she answered. The man nodded with a small sigh.
“I met Renee during my first summer as a cop. She was driving up the Pacific Highway with a group of her friends, and they stopped to camp at First Beach in La Push. I was visiting Billy when I met her on the beach. There was an instant attraction between us. You know Forks is a small town, so any newcomers were instantly intriguing to anyone. At the time I thought she was the most gorgeous woman I’d ever met. We spent a few days together before her friends were ready to continue their roadtrip. Renee promised to visit me on the return trip. In her absence, I realized just how much he had fallen for her.
She returned as promised, and I managed to convince her to stay when her friends left. Renee was romantic by nature, and she loved the passionate whirlwind relationship. I proposed probably much quicker than I should have, and she accepted. We were married at the courthouse in Port Angeles just a few weeks later. My old house was just down the street from my parent’s house, so we decided to get it. For a little while, we  were deliriously happy. I was even happier when I found out Renée was pregnant with Bella. You wouldn’t even believe it.” The two of them shared a quiet laugh, then Eleanor noticed a sad look in Charlie’s eyes.
“But?” She urged softly, dipping her head a bit to meet his eyes. The man shot her a sad smile then continued.
“But,” he repeated. “Things took a downturn during Renée's pregnancy. Both of my parents' conditions worsened, and my dad needed my help with my mother every day. My mom had Alzheimer's and dad’s mobility was being curtailed by severe arthritis.” Eleanor’s eyes widened at that and she let out a quiet gasp, sympathy coursing through her. Charlie gently squeezed her shoulder with the arm wrapped around her, silently letting her know it was okay as he continued.
“At the same time, depression began to take a major toll on Renee. She wanted me to leave Forks with her and start over somewhere sunnier, but I just couldn't do that. How was I supposed to just leave my parents while their health was deteriorating? Anyways, Renee had the baby, and the postpartum hormones only added to her depression.
A few months after Bella was born, Renee decided she couldn't live in Forks anymore, and she left with Bella. I was devastated. I wanted to follow her, but again, I couldn't just leave my parents. I wanted Renee to be happy though, so I didn't contest the divorce or the child support. All I asked for was time with Bella and things were settled. I didn’t stop loving Renee for a long time, despite the fact that she moved on.” Eleanor offered him a weak, comforting look as she carefully took his hand.
“I’m so sorry Charlie,” she whispered, but the man only shook his head.
“I’m not,” he responded, which visibly surprised her. He chuckled quietly before elaborating.
“Ellie, I never thought that I would fall in love again. I thought that I was just destined to spend the rest of my life alone, but then I met you at the parent/teacher night and I felt that connection. The ‘mates’ thing you talked about. If I thought that I loved Renee before, it had more than tripled when we met. It felt like I had been given a second chance, and this time I wanted to make sure that I didn’t mess anything up this time around.
And I didn’t, everything was perfect. I took things slow and got to know you before I even considered the thought of asking you to marry me. I waited three years to propose to you because I wanted to make sure that spending the rest of our lives together was something we both wanted. And I mean, you deserve to be treated right and with respect.
When it came time to start planning, my original mindset came back. Things needed to be perfect and special for the sake of our happiness. Besides, it’s a big step for both of us. I think we deserve to have a good day. That’s why I wanted all our friends to help us out, and that’s why I’ve been so specific about everything.”
Eleanor couldn’t help but smile as he finished talking. Not only had he been so desperate for things to be perfect for himself, but for her as well. It was not a secret to him anymore that she hadn’t really been happy when she was still alive. She didn’t have a husband and none of her suitors really respected her because of the time they lived in, and she never had a chance to fall in love before she had been turned. This had technically been a second chance for both of them, and they were making sure not to waste it.
“Aw, Charlie,” she cooed, pressing a quick kiss to his lips before hugging him. “You’re so sweet.” She didn’t have to be looking at him to know that he was blushing as he returned the gesture, but that only made her more giddy. Once they pulled away, she leaned her head on his shoulder as they settled into a comfortable silence once again.
“You don’t have to worry though,” Eleanor interrupted the silence again, which made Charlie look at her confusedly.
“What?”
“You don’t have to worry about trying to make things perfect,” she explained with a soft smile. “Everything is naturally perfect with you.” The man’s blush returned, and he pressed a gentle kiss to her temple.
“Everything is perfect with you too,” he muttered softly as they settled back into how they sat earlier. And Eleanor knew he really meant it.

Being a Mermaid and Jacob’s Imprint Would Include... {2}
Tumblr media
{gif isn’t mine}
xxxxx
You had disappeared for a whole month. You had only sent Leah a few messages after the incident, to give a sign of life and reassure the pack... which hadn’t helped matters when Jacob found out. "WHY didn't you tell me?!” “You acted like a f*cking jerk, why should I have?" The tension was so overwhelming, to the point where the other wolves must have come between them that day. Leah wanted to protect her friend, and Jacob wanted to get his imprint back. But he couldn't.
xxxxx
You hadn’t planned to come back, not so soon... this is what you had entrusted to the pretty wolf. You wanted to get some distance... away from Forks, from La Push... and from Jacob. You couldn't take it anymore. It was already hard that he treated you so coldly ‘cause he loved one another, but seeing him tear himself apart with his brothers... because of you? It was too much. It had gone way too far.
xxxxx
Grudge and worry kept growing among the wolves even when Jacob were gone, wandering god knows where near the Canadian border. Guilt and pain had kept twisting him from the inside ever since, and hearing the thoughts of his pack... especially when it came to you, had become torture. Even Jared, who had felt at fault at first, only felt annoyance now. Jacob was a ball of nerves ready to explode at any moment, while he was the one who had behaved badly in the first place. Fuck... he could have hurt you?! All because he had let himself be overcome by his emotions, emotions that he wasn’t yet ready to assume out loud.
xxxxx
The feeling of lack linked to the imprint was so strong that it sometimes prevented you from breathing, but that wasn't the worst. It was at that moment... that you realized how much you were in love with Jacob Black.
xxxxx
Even the pull of the bond wasn't as strong as the crack forged in your heart. A gash already wide open over the past few weeks (consciously or not) by the constant presence of Isabella Swan - hunted by Victoria - and now gaping as you left the Quileute... and Jacob, behind you. It was clear, the difference between these feelings - as if your heart and your guts were going in two distinct directions. How stupid you were... as if fate wasn't cruel enough like that.
xxxxx
You were quite surprised to see Alice and Jasper appear at your workplace one morning, a small neighborhood library near Port Angeles. It was brand new, no one knew about it. No one except Alice. Obviously... What were they doing there? You weren't particularly close to the Cullens, but you liked the lil’ brunette quite a bit. Did something happen? Did he... no, Leah would have warned you. Right..?
xxxxx
“He's stupidly stubborn, and guilty. But he's fine... for now.” You no longer understood anything, since when did Alice appreciate Jacob? She didn’t. But she couldn't control her visions. Time was running out. An army was approaching, Bella was once again the center of attention... and the future had darkened. The two clans who called themselves enemies had decided to unite reluctantly, to protect her - but what was your role in this story?
xxxxx
“Don't get me wrong, Alice... I don't wish Bella any harm.” You were boiling from the inside, but Bella wasn't the reason of your pain... Jacob was. You had no animosity towards the young girl, the shapeshifter was mature enough to make his own choices. It was between you and him, and yet. “But you came here for nothing.” You didn't look her in the eye anymore, busy sorting through the same books over and over in your hands. You couldn't believe she had come here just for this. She wanted you to come back to him, so he could come back to her... come back to Bella. To protect her.
xxxxx
Jasper hadn't moved from his place since their arrival, standing proudly straight behind his beloved. He could easily sense your anger, mixed with pain and incomprehension... and just like that, your eyes met his for a long second. “You should listen to her, Y/N.” You could feel a wave of appeasement sweep over you, immediately glaring at the vampire. "And you shouldn’t try to manipulate my emotions, Jasper."
xxxxx
“He won't survive it, Y/N... I saw it.” You could feel your blood running cold through your veins. What was she talking about?? Jacob was actually back in Forks, for more than a week now. But he was a freaking mess. He made sure to stay away from the pack, irritable... unpredictable, and more closed than ever. Quite the opposite of who he really was. You could feel your heart skipping a beat... Alice had glimpsed the impending confrontation, and the outcome had been fatal for the brown wolf.
xxxxx
No, no, no... it couldn't happen. It. Couldn't. The information was too much to handle as you began to hyperventilate like an idiot in the store, Jasper immediately moving to your side. You couldn't let him get killed all this because he was distracted by the whole "imprint thing”, no... you could never forgive yourself for it. You would leave your pride aside without any hesitation for him, everything for him... no matter the welcome you would receive in return.
xxxxx
The car ride was terribly quiet. The battle would take place in three days, so there was no time to waste. Your boss had been accommodating enough to give you your afternoon (he seemed to be pleased by your work, good for you) and this is where you were now... on the road back to Forks, sitting in the back of Alice's car. She had insisted on taking you there given your emotional state, and you were silently grateful for that. You could feel the anguish mounting as you approached the Quileute reserve, unconsciously wriggling in your seat.
xxxxx
“Stop the car.” The air was too thick to breathe, and you felt like you were drowning... there was only one way to fix it. You were close enough now, you could join the reserve on your own... but not right away. You quickly thanked the couple before slamming the door, taking the path to the forest under the worried gaze of the petite brunette. You ran, unable to stop before reaching the impressive cliff... not thinking twice before jumping.
xxxxx
You felt like you could finally breathe again as the icy water came in contact with your hot skin. You haven't been back to the ocean since the incident, and you had missed it - terribly. You could feel a pinch in your stomach as you rose to the surface, quickly looking up as your eyes instantly fell on the huge brown wolf that stood high on the rocks. Jacob. He was there... how?
xxxxx
You dived again after an endless exchange of glances, taking longer than necessary to reach the shore. A part of you feared your reunion, while the other was just relieved and excited to see him again. Jacob had reached the beach at an impressive speed, the shapeshifter dressed warmer than usual while a large jacket and boots complemented the usual shorts specific to all Quileutes. His heart was pounding as he observed the surface, impatiently waiting to see you reappear. Were you even going to do it..? He couldn't believe you were really there.
xxxxx
And you did. Your feet sank into the wet sand as you left the sweet comfort offered by the waves, your long hair sticking to your skin like a second skin. You were completely exposed as the cold wind whipped through your entire body, Jacob's eyes never leaving yours as he took off his jacket… wasting no time wrapping it around you. The distance between you was ridiculously thin now, the silence heavy and comfortable at the same time. There was no room for shyness here, it was Jacob. And despite everything that had happened you had full confidence in him.
xxxxx
None of you dared to speak first... almost like it's going to shatter the present moment, and bring bad memories to the surface. “I was afraid I had hurt you.” He finally confessed, almost shamefully. Start at the beginning, yeah... it was good. “I'm sorry I disappeared... I just panicked.” You answered briefly, but he cut you off almost immediately.“You don't have to feel sorry for anything, Y/N. I should. For everything.”  He really was. He wanted to tell you how sorry he was, how much he had missed you... and how much he loved you. But he didn't have the right. Not now, and maybe never. But repeating it to you, showing you how sorry he was and how much he regretted the way he had treated you... seemed like a good start. He wanted to be the best imprint for you... a friend, a protector. If you wanted him to be. He didn't want to be separated from you like that anymore. Never again.
xxxxx
You could hear the sincerity in his voice, the erratic changes in his breathing… and the heat radiating from his body which was enveloping you like a soft blanket. He meant every word. You were sure of it. And it was, indeed, a good start... yes. It was like a silent acceptance, like a secret language between the two of you... your throat tightening a bit before you wrapped your arms around him.
xxxxx
Jacob automatically tightens his embrace around you, selfishly accepting the gesture of affection you both needed so badly. He trapped your body against his, resting his chin against the top of your head as you stood on your tiptoes... inhaling his scent. There he was, alive and safe in your arms... and that was all that mattered right now. And you were going to make sure that it stays that way, no matter what.
xxxxx
But fate wasn't so lenient, you should have known that... it didn't rest only in your hands. Cruel reality exploded in your face that day, Jacob's scream echoing through the entire clearing at the same time as the sound of his ribs being broken by the newborn vampire. It all happened so fast. Leah had found herself trapped in the deadly embrace of one of them, Jacob had intervened... and now he was writhing in pain on the ground.
xxxxx
You had joined him in a few strides, stumbling alongside him as your heartbeat echoed through your ears. Carlisle stood by your side, examining the extent of the damage before the other members of the pack arrived in turn. His voice was twisted in pain as he tried to pronounce your name, squeezing your hand in his before the other wolves surrounded him to pick him up - Paul reluctantly pulling you away from your imprint. Tears filled your eyes, so much so that you hadn't even seen Bella arrive… the obvious horror on her face. How could this have happened? You thought you could change Alice's vision, you really believed you could... but you obviously failed. Literally.

Secret Relationship II
@chickenbxby
Tumblr media
"Maybe you could come to the beach with me and my friends tomorrow, if you aren't busy Seth." As soon as the words dropped from his imprint's mouth, Seth accepted. No, before the object of his affection even finished speaking he accepted.
"La Push?" A stupid grin formed over his face at the thought of finally being able to go out with his imprint in broad daylight. It felt like a massive step for the two.
"Yeah, you live nearby it right? ... You said you live over by Forks....?"
After climbing in through the window, Seth and his imprint shared some small snacks and a pizza. Well, Seth ate most of everything and his imprint just happily fed him. They hardly had time to spend together. Seth was always out on wolf business, and ... they usually had to meet late at night anyway, but his imprint could feel the bond, and Seth knew that they knew this wasn't some ordinary crush.
Seth hate to admit it, but for the past month, he had been running in his wolf form back and forth between Forks and Port Angeles to see his imprint. Ever since the first time he had laid eyes on them after being dragged out on a shopping trip with Emily, Seth had been hooked.
The rest of the their night went on smoothly with the pair getting toasty cuddling up. Seth managed to fall asleep spooning his imprint while they watched some cute YouTube videos on their phone.
After waking up, heading back home and washing up, Seth realized he had never so much as met anyone else in his imprint's life. No friends, and he certainly had never met their parents. The entire situation nagged at him, but imprinting wasn't simple. If his imprint never told anyone about him, and he had to climb in their window for the rest of his life, he really wouldn't care. Hell, he'd do anything for his imprint.... and so far the only thing that bothered him was how the pack made assumptions. Even after learning about the new development, the pack were protective of their baby member.
Paul's voice floated through his head as he checked his appearance in the mirror. 'I bet they already have a boyfriend.' Next he heard his sister's voice as he got dressed for a day at the beach, 'they're hiding something from you or ashamed of you.'
Seth let out a small grumble as he pulled an old hoodie over his head as a cover up. He hated thinking about things because the whole pack would gang up on him. With a huff, Seth set out for the beach on foot, it really wasn't far after all.
He arrived to see a giggling group of friends surrounding his imprint, and something dawned over Seth's nervous mind.
Since they always met at night, Seth had never noticed, but his imprint drove a Rolls-Royce. He remembered hearing them say their parents bought them a car for a birthday present, but Seth had never thought much about it until now.
As Seth got closer the group noticed him, and the wolf's eyes darted to a large brown leather handbag in one of the their hands. He swore he had seen the design before. LV? Seth shrugged wondering quietly why any sensible person would bring a leather handbag to the beach.
His chocolate eyes softened considerably seeing his imprint once again. "Hi."
The imprint smiled back with just as dreamy a look in their eyes. "Hi, Seth."
A friend chimed in loudly cutting the cute moment short. "Oh my God! You booked a tour for us! Just for this visit?! You're the best, for real!" - "Are we going to go whale watching??" - "Your mom and dad are paying right? My dad cancelled my card last week." - "I wish my mom and dad had a house in Washington, everything is sooooo pretty here.... And I'm so jealous-"
Seth stopped listening. His face twisted a bit as it dawned on him that his imprint's friends thought he was going to show them around. A tour guide? A part of him felt deeply insulted.
He looked like a tour guide? Really? ... His eyebrows rose in disbelief hearing the bit about the card, and suddenly everything made sense to Seth.
His imprint was loaded. They were the kind of filthy rich that was unavailable to even think about for some average Joe like Seth.
Seth always wondered why no one else ever seemed to be in the house when he visited, and he would soon learn that his imprint was just spending the summer at their parents' vacation home in Port Angeles. They were from New Mexico. During the day they had private tutoring, then tennis training, so the only time available for Seth was night. The security system on the house alerted their father when the door was opened after curfew, and really the only way to go out or in was through the window. It was ridiculous, and something a rich helicopter parent would do.
"U-uh, no, this is Seth. I asked him to come." The imprint stuttered and blushed, but Seth couldn't find any trace of shame in their face. "He's kind of... well, we're sort of seeing each other."
Seth felt a massive weight lift off his chest.

May 5th-June 9th, Washington/Michigan
We spent a lot of effort on the yard during the month, putting up a privacy fence and planting the spice spiral and raised beds.
Tumblr media
Gae and I helped out at the Port Angeles Garden Club annual plant sale on May 6th, where we spent more than we should have on starts, as always!
Tumblr media
My college buddies Andy, Dave and Mike all came over on the 9th to put up the privacy fence... and made a HUGE start over 1.5 days. All the posts in, cross members up and 1/4 of the pickets up. I hope and expect some labor in their favor in the future:-)
Tumblr media
Gae and I took a drive that ended with us walking to Madison Falls near the Elwa river, a beautiful and short hike.
Tumblr media
We got a visit in with Matt Rehfeldt and his girlfriend Jamie on the 24th, as they visited Solduc Hot Springs, Forks and the beach... a rare treat!
Tumblr media
Gae helped out with the 4th graders as a chaperone on a visit to a local farm very close to Madison Falls on the 25th.
Tumblr media
We joined in on the Garden Clubs luncheon, where only the bathroom design out-shined the beautiful gardens!
Tumblr media
I headed to Seattle on Memorial Day, where Andy and I got out for a round of golf at West Seattle GC... a perfect warm up for my golf/beer trip to Michigan the following day.
Tumblr media
I should have taken more pictures of the trip, but was too distracted by lively conversation, beer, golf and beer:-) Here we are at Founders in Grand Rapids after a hot, but fun, round of golf. That’s me, with Steve from Kearny Missouri, Brad, his brother-in-law, from (near) the Dells, Wisconsin, and my brother-in-law, Jeff, from Commerce Township, Michigan.
Tumblr media
I joined my friend Terry to check out a -3 tide at Salt Creek State Recreation Area on June 6th. We stopped at Freshwater Bay on the way back to Port Angeles, where I collected some Sea Lettuce and made a delicious salad from.
Our friends Bob and Maria from West Seattle came out and visited over the 6th and 7th, but I forgot to take any pictures!
Tumblr media
We took a drive up Deer Park for the first time after they left on the 7th. Definitely the most beautiful viewpoint we’ve found.

NEW MUSE ALERT   //   :   SOLOMON FINAU
age: twenty eight zodiac: gemini personality: gentle , determined , restless and tense face claim: r*man r*igns
OVERVIEW   //   :   MUST KNOW INFORMATION
if you don’t remember who this is ( which i do not blame you ) solomon was the samoan surfer Hunk that rebecca follows to hawaii and , ultimately , marries. so he’s billy’s son --- in --- law and rachel & jacob’s brother --- in --- law.
lived in hawaii for a while , until the age of 27 , but moves into port angeles with rebecca when he decides to retire from surfboarding at just 28. the reasoning for retiring came from an injury to his right knee , making it difficult for him to continuously train and practice. he still surfs , though , when they visit la push. casual surfing is fine for him. he just wakes up a bit sore the next day.
solomon was in foster care up until the age of 8 where he was adopted by a couple who had been trying to have kids for years. solomon was their first foster child and they grew an attachment right away. at 10 his last name was legally changed from urale to finau.
at the age of 14 , he and his family moved from hawaii to forks , washington. he hung around first beach ( because surfing and it reminds him of home ) , making friends with some of the la push locals. this caused him to hang around there a lot , especially during the weekends.
has a connection to his samoan roots and it reflects in the tattoos on his body.
uhhh a big teddy bear !! tbh !! true gemini though. one day he’s totally chill and in a good mood , the next he’s tense and can’t seem to concentrate long enough so truly give or take !

Crepusculum
Places and Background information
Series Masterlist
Disclaimer: I tried my best to come up with most of these places myself, with the exception of Riverfield, as that is tied to the concept of Enhypen. If you have the Dimension Dilemma album, you will probably recognize it. I am also taking a lot of inspiration from the books, but it will not all be the exact same. (bc that’s basically plagarism and i am not in the position to be sued lol)

Places:
Forks → Riverfield
Phoenix → Sumera
La Push → De Nal
Seattle → Sawtle
Olympia → Olympia
Port Angeles→ Port Engel
United States/North America → Vernas
Riverfield: a cold and rainy city in northern Vernas. Almost always cloudy with a fair chance of rain, the sun making its appearance about 42% of the time.
Sumera: A hot and sunny city in southern Vernas. Rains only once or twice every month or so.
De Nal: a sort of reservation for the Rivera tribe on a rocky beach. Home to many, if not all, werewolves.
Sawtle: Southeast from Riverfield. A more populous city compared to Riverfield. Many stores and restaurants.
Olympia: Another city further southeast from Riverfield. Another popular city with many shops.
Port Engel: A popular city northwest of Sawtle. There’s a beach, restaurants, attractions, ect. A good place to have a beach party. There’s also docks for fishing.
Vernas: The country/continent in which this whole story takes place in. There are islands and smaller countries outside of Vernas, but Vernas is the largest of them all.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Just as Carlisle saved the members of his coven by turning them, Johnny did the same
The exceptions of that are Sunoo and Heeseung, who were turned by other vampires but came to him just as Alice did.
Jake Sim is your childhood friend. You met him during your third summer visit with your dad and you played together as you grew up. You stopped seeing him as much after you turned 13.
Just as they are in Twilight, werewolves and vampires are mortal enemies.
Jake is 16 turning 17 in the beginning
You are 17 turning 18 in the beginning
Sunghoon is forever 18
You are clumsy and soft-spoken in the beginning
I plan for this series to play up to my first idea for it, “If Bella had chosen Jacob”, but that might change a little.
The Coven uses the last names Suh and Lee.
