The lukewarm air clung to your skin as you sat at the bar in the Tipsy Bison, a glass in hand, the bitter burn of the whiskey still fresh on your tongue. It was a disgusting kind of heat, the kind that stuck to you and made you wish for a shower—or another drink. It was late, later than you usually stayed out, and the bar was sparsely populated, just a few regulars nursing their usuals in the dim light.
You flagged down the bartender, your fingers drumming lightly against the counter. "Another," you said, meeting their eye. They nodded, reaching for the bottle.
Your gaze drifted as you waited, lazily scanning the room. That’s when you saw him.
A man sat at the far end of the bar, hunched over a glass of whiskey, his posture heavy. He looked older, maybe early fifties, his face etched with lines that spoke of a hard life, not just years. His dark hair was streaked with silver, the strands curling slightly at the ends, and a thick, scruffy beard framed a scowl that seemed permanently etched into his features. His eyes were sharp, though, hidden beneath furrowed brows as he stared at the bottle behind the bar like it held all the answers.
Your brow arched in curiosity. You didn’t recognize him exactly, but he looked familiar—someone you’d seen in passing. Without overthinking it, you slid off your stool and moved down the bar, settling yourself in the seat next to his. He didn’t look at you, didn’t even acknowledge your presence. But that didn’t stop you from giving him a once-over, shamelessly.
“Can I help you?” he asked, his voice low and gruff, still not turning to meet your gaze.
You chuckled, leaning back slightly. “Do I know you?” you asked, tilting your head.
“Doubt it,” he sighed.
“Oh,” you said, letting the word hang in the air. “You’re Tommy’s brother, right?”
He sighed again, the kind of exhale that sounded more like an admission. “That’s me.”
You smirked, lifting the fresh shot the bartender had set down in front of you. “Hotter than your brother, though,” you said before downing it in one smooth motion, the whiskey burning all the way down.
That got his attention. His head turned, and he finally looked at you—dark eyes narrowing slightly, lips parting as if to say something but stopping short. He looked genuinely taken aback, like no one had ever said something like that to him before. “The fuck are you talkin’ about?” he asked, his tone more stunned than angry.
You shrugged, giving him an unabashed once-over again. “I’m just sayin’. You’re good-looking,” you repeated, meeting his gaze directly.
He scoffed, a rough sound that came from deep in his chest. “Look, lady,” he said, shaking his head, “I’m way past relationships, so I suggest you just walk away.”
“Who said anything about relationships?” you replied, your tone light and teasing.

The room was bathed in the dim glow of a bedside lamp, shadows dancing against the walls as the dresser rattled softly with the force of his movements. Joel had you pinned there, caged in by his arms, his chest pressed against your back as if daring you to pull away—not that you wanted to. His breath was hot against your ear, low grunts and growls spilling out as he moved with deliberate, unrelenting intensity.
Your clothes were still on, mostly. His jeans were tugged down just enough, your own pulled halfway down your thighs, bunched awkwardly as you clutched the edge of the dresser, trying to anchor yourself against the tidal wave building inside you.
“Joel,” you gasped, your head falling back against his shoulder as your grip tightened on the wood. “I’m—God, I’m gonna—”
“Fuckin’ take it,” he growled, his voice thick and ragged, one hand gripping your hip so tightly you were sure it’d leave marks. “You’re right there. C’mon.”
The sensation overwhelmed you, and with a strangled cry, your body broke apart. “Joel!” you screamed, your nails raking against his forearm as you bucked beneath him, the dresser creaking in protest.
Joel groaned deeply, pulling out just in time, his breath heavy and labored. He finished on his hand with a grunt, his forehead dropping briefly to your shoulder as he let out a long sigh, the tension draining from his body.
You both stood there for a moment, chests heaving, the room filled with nothing but the sound of your breathing and the faint rustle of clothing as he stepped back, adjusting himself.
“Damn,” he muttered, his voice still rough as he wiped his hand clean with a nearby rag, tossing it aside like it meant nothing, “You all right?”
You leaned against the dresser, still catching your breath, your legs shaking slightly as you straightened up and fixed your clothes. “I think so,” you said with a wry chuckle, running a hand through your hair. “Well… that escalated.”
Joel just shrugged, his eyes sweeping over you before he grabbed his belt, threading it back through the loops with practiced ease. “Yeah, well,” he said gruffly, his tone casual, though there was a flicker of something deeper in his gaze. “Guess we’re doin’ this now.”

It had been a few months now, and the routine had settled into something both comfortable and volatile. It was almost always the same—you’d show up at Joel’s door late at night, the moon high and the town quiet. He’d answer in a wrinkled shirt and tousled hair, his face carved with irritation that didn’t quite mask the way his gaze swept over your form.
“Seriously?” he’d mutter as you stepped past him, already kicking off your boots and shimmying out of your jeans in the doorway.
“You’re too horny for your own good,” he’d grumble, his brow furrowing in that way that somehow made him look even more rugged.
“No rest for the wicked,” you’d shoot back with a sly grin, already dashing upstairs, leaving him standing there shaking his head and muttering under his breath.
Joel always followed, though. No matter how much he sighed or rolled his eyes, he’d climb the stairs after you, his heavy footfalls a sound you’d grown to expect. By the time he found you, sprawled out and ready, he was already hard, already resigned to the fact that you weren’t going to leave him in peace.
It wasn’t soft, not with Joel. It was rough hands, bitten-off curses, and bruising grips that left reminders on your skin. You’d both cum, panting and wrecked, and then you’d slip out of his bed and pull your clothes back on like it was nothing.
At first, you’d knock when you came over, but after too many nights of him stumbling half-asleep to the door, he’d shoved a key into your hand. “Sick of you bangin’ on my door at all hours,” he’d grunted, and you’d just laughed, pocketing it without a second thought.
It worked for you—this arrangement. Whenever the day had been too hard, when your fingers weren’t cutting it and the frustration bubbled over, Joel was there. He was steady, dependable in his own gruff way. But there were rules, even if they weren’t spoken out loud. You never kissed. It just wasn’t part of the deal.
Instead, you’d press your lips to his collarbone, to the patch of skin where his pulse thrummed, tasting salt and sweat. He didn’t complain, but he didn’t ask for more, either. Maybe that’s why it worked—you didn’t ask for more, either.
Tonight had been no different. Joel had pulled you apart, his hands gripping your thighs as he thrust into you, his breath hot against your neck as you came for the second time. You were still catching your breath when you rolled off him, reaching for your shirt and pulling it over your head.
“It’s cold,” he muttered, his voice low and gravelly as he sat up. “You could just ... spend the night.”
The words were casual, thrown out like they didn’t mean anything. But they did. Joel didn’t offer people to stay. Joel didn’t let people in. And yet, here he was, offering you the kind of closeness he didn’t give anyone else.
“Nah,” you said breezily, oblivious to the weight of what he’d just said. You zipped up your jeans, running a hand through your hair as you glanced at him. “Got patrol early. You know how it is.”
Joel nodded stiffly, his face giving nothing away, though his eyes lingered on you as you grabbed your jacket. “Yeah,” he said, the word rough and clipped. “Sure.”
You slung your bag over your shoulder, giving him a small smile. “Anyway,” you said, already moving toward the door, “see you when I see you.”
He swallowed hard as he watched you leave, the door clicking shut behind you. For a long moment, he sat there, staring at the empty space you’d left behind. Joel didn’t have the words to explain it, not even to himself. He didn’t want to need this, didn’t want to need you. But he did.
And as much as he hated to admit it, he hated even more that he wished you’d stayed.

The kitchen was dim, the faint hum of the fridge the only sound besides your heavy breathing and the occasional low groan from Joel as he worked between your thighs.
You were spread out on the countertop, your patrol gear still half on, boots kicked off somewhere by the door. The ache from hours on horseback had burned away, replaced with a sharper, hotter need that only Joel could satisfy.
You’d barely stumbled in, desperate, and Joel had opened the door with a gruff sigh, already knowing what you wanted before you even spoke. "Needy as hell," he muttered, but his hands had been on you in seconds, pulling you inside, settling you on the counter like it was second nature.
And now? Now, his tongue moved against you with an unrelenting, agonizing precision. You moaned, your hands tangling in his hair, pulling just enough to make him grunt in response. His beard scraped deliciously against your thighs, grounding you in the moment as the coil in your belly tightened with every flick of his tongue.
"Fuck, Joel," you groaned, your voice rough and breathless as he dragged another moan from you. His hands gripped your thighs, holding you in place like you might dare to squirm away. This wasn’t like usual. Normally, Joel was fast, efficient—out and over. He didn’t linger. But tonight? Tonight, he was taking his damn time, his lips and tongue teasing you, coaxing you closer and closer to the edge until you thought you might lose your mind.
“Yeah, darlin’?” he hummed against your core, his voice low and gravelly, the vibration making you arch off the countertop. He looked up briefly, his dark eyes hooded, lips slick and glistening as he smirked. “What’s that? You need somethin’?”
“Joel,” you gasped, your head falling back as his tongue flicked over your clit again, slow and deliberate. Your chest heaved as your nails dug into his scalp, desperate for something to hold onto. “I—shit—I’ve got a shift in ten minutes.”
“Then you’d better hurry up,” he rasped against you, his breath warm against your sensitive skin. But he didn’t hurry. No, if anything, he slowed down, his tongue tracing deliberate, lazy circles that made your breath hitch and your thighs tremble.
“You’re—” you gasped, biting down on your lip as he sucked gently on your clit, “you’re taking too long.”
Joel chuckled low in his throat, the sound dark and teasing as he kissed along the inside of your thigh, his stubble scratching against the tender skin. “Ain’t my fault you came in here all wound up,” he said, his tone gruff but laced with something softer, something dangerous that he wasn’t saying. “Maybe you should learn some patience.”
“Patience?” you nearly whined, your voice cracking as his tongue returned to your clit, working you over with a precision that made your toes curl. “Oh, fuck, Joel—”
He didn’t respond this time, just groaned softly against you, his grip tightening on your hips as he brought you to the brink. You shattered with a loud cry, your thighs trembling around his head as waves of pleasure crashed over you, leaving you breathless and boneless on the countertop.
Joel pulled back slowly, his lips glistening as he wiped his mouth with the back of his hand, his eyes locked on yours. “There,” he muttered, his voice low and rough, like gravel underfoot. “That’s better.”
You were still catching your breath, your chest rising and falling as you pulled your pants up. “You’re impossible,” you muttered, though there was no heat in your words.
Joel just smirked, stepping back to let you slide off the counter. “Better get goin’, then,” he said, his voice casual, but his eyes lingered on you like he didn’t want you to leave.
And as you grabbed your boots and headed out the door, Joel stood there in the kitchen, his hands braced on the counter where you’d been moments ago, hating the way he already missed you.

Joel’s birthdays weren’t something he talked about. Hell, you were pretty sure he hated the day entirely. No celebrations, no well wishes—just another date on the calendar he could ignore. But when you knocked on his door that afternoon, a half-smushed cupcake clutched in your hand, you decided you didn’t care much for his rules.
You knocked again, shifting on your feet. The air was cool, a sharp contrast to the warmth you’d stolen earlier in the kitchen as you snuck eggs to make the damn thing. It wasn’t pretty, but it was something.
Finally, the door creaked open, revealing Joel in his usual worn flannel and jeans. His brows lifted slightly when he saw you, the corners of his mouth twitching in what almost passed for a smile. “Hey,” he said, stepping back to let you in. “Come on in.”
You slid past him, your boots clunking softly against the wood floor as he shut the door behind you. His place was as it always was—quiet, a little too clean, with that faint woodsy smell that clung to everything Joel owned. He turned to you, jerking his head toward the couch. “You wanna do it here, or… head upstairs?” His voice was gruff, casual, like it didn’t matter much either way.
You snorted, crossing your arms as you arched a brow at him. “You make me sound like a sex addict, Joel.”
His brow furrowed, his dark eyes narrowing slightly as if to say, Aren’t you, though?
You rolled your eyes, pulling the slightly battered cupcake from behind your back. “Actually,” you began, your tone teasing as you held it out to him, “I’m here because it’s someone’s birthday.”
Joel’s expression froze for a moment, his eyes flicking to the cupcake and then back to you. “The hell’s this?” he asked, his voice softer now, tinged with something you couldn’t quite place.
“It’s a cupcake,” you said, grinning as you waved it in front of him. “Took some serious effort, too. You know how hard it is to get eggs without pissing everyone off?”
He huffed a quiet laugh, shaking his head as he took the cupcake from your hands, his calloused fingers brushing yours for just a moment. “You steal eggs for this?”
"Hey," you teased, "I baked for you. That’s a luxury, you know—not all my conquests get this kind of treatment."
Joel huffed a laugh, shaking his head as he leaned against the counter. “Conquests?” he repeated, his voice thick with amusement. “You’re fuckin’ ridiculous.”
“Seriously, though,” you said, stepping closer, “Happy birthday, Miller.”
“Thanks,” he muttered. He looked at it for a moment before letting out a low sigh. “Another fuckin’ year older.”
You smirked, walking towards the couch, “Don’t worry,” you said with a wink, “The machinery still works, right?”
Joel barked out a laugh, shaking his head. “You’re somethin’ else, you know that?”
“I’ve been told,” you shot back, your grin widening as you plopped down onto his couch, making yourself comfortable. “So,” you started, glancing over at him, “any big plans for your big day?”
Joel followed, lowering himself onto the couch with a groan, his body settling heavily into the worn cushions. “No,” he said, running a hand through his messy hair, his fingers raking through the dark strands streaked with silver. “Not really my thing.”
You tilted your head, watching him for a moment. He looked tired, more so than usual, the lines around his eyes deeper, his shoulders heavier. Birthdays weren’t just something Joel ignored—they were something he carried, quietly, like an old wound he didn’t let anyone see.
“Guess that’s why I’m here,” you said lightly, breaking the silence. “Can’t let you sit around brooding all night, now, can I?”
Joel glanced at you, his dark eyes narrowing slightly, though there was a hint of something softer there, too. “You do that a lot? Rescue lonely old men on their birthdays?”
You grinned, leaning back against the cushions. “Only the ones who can still get it up.”
That got another chuckle out of him, the sound low and rough, like gravel underfoot. He shook his head, leaning forward to rest his elbows on his knees, the cupcake still untouched in his hands.
For a moment, you both sat in silence, the faint hum of the fridge filling the room. It was comfortable, easy, the kind of quiet that felt rare in a world that was always teetering on the edge of chaos.
“So really, no plans?” you asked, edging closer to him on the couch, feigning innocence as you tucked one leg beneath you.
“Nah,” he muttered, his eyes darting away from yours. But he wasn’t fast enough for you to miss the way his jeans were beginning to strain, the fabric tightening over his thighs.
Your gaze dropped to his lap, catching the telltale tension in his jeans as they began to tighten. A smirk tugged at the corners of your lips. “Well,” you began, your hand finding its way to his thigh, your fingers brushing just a little too close to where you knew he was already hard. “I think I could give you a birthday present you might actually enjoy, Miller.”
His laugh was low, almost reluctant, but you saw the faintest twitch of a smile on his lips. “And you deny bein’ a sex addict,” he said, his voice laced with sarcasm.
“Hey,” you shot back, your grin widening as your hand slid just a little higher, your fingers brushing the seam of his jeans. “I’m not the one who’s about to cum in their pants.” You tilted your head, nodding toward the very obvious bulge straining against the zipper.
“It’s a fuckin’ Pavlovian response,” he said, chuckling under his breath, though his voice was strained. “You walk through that door, and my body just knows what’s comin’.”
“Doesn’t sound like you’re complaining,” you replied, your voice dropping lower as you slid off the couch, sinking to your knees between his legs.
“Fuck,” Joel muttered, his voice tight as he glanced down at you, his eyes dark and hooded. “You’re somethin’ else, you know that?”
“C’mon, birthday boy,” you teased, your fingers trailing up his thigh as you grinned up at him. “I’ll let you cum in my mouth—just this once,” you added with a wink, your nails scraping lightly against the inside of his leg.
Joel huffed out a laugh, though it came out more like a groan as his hips shifted toward you instinctively. “You always let me do that,” he muttered, his tone gruff as his hands moved to his belt, undoing it with practiced ease.
“Yeah, well,” you said, your voice softening as you tugged his jeans and boxers down in one smooth motion, freeing him. “Consider it my gift to you.”
Joel let out a low curse, his head falling back again as you leaned in, your hand wrapping around him as you pressed a soft, teasing kiss to the tip. He was already throbbing, his body betraying the control he usually clung to so tightly.
As you worked him with your hands and mouth, Joel groaned, his fingers tangling in your hair. His usual gruff demeanor was slipping, replaced with raw, unguarded need, and you couldn’t help but smirk around him.
“Fuck, darlin’,” he muttered, his voice rough as his hips bucked slightly. “You’re too good at this.”
“Maybe,” you teased, pulling back just enough to glance up at him, your eyes meeting his. “But I think you’re enjoying it.”
Joel swallowed hard, his jaw clenched as he looked down at you, his dark eyes clouded with something you couldn’t quite place. “Yeah,” he muttered, his voice barely above a whisper. “Too much.”
His head tipped back against the couch with a groan, his hand tightening in your hair. “Fuck,” he murmured, his voice gravelly and raw. “Just like that, baby. Just like that.”
You didn’t stop, your head moving in a steady rhythm, his quiet curses spurring you on. Your tongue worked him perfectly, coaxing those low, guttural noises from deep in his chest. His hips shifted slightly, a tension in his thighs that told you he was close, and you couldn’t help but smirk.
Pulling back for just a moment, you let a string of saliva trail from his tip to your lips, your breath hitching as you whispered, “Use my mouth.”
Joel’s head snapped forward at your words, his eyes locking onto yours with a heat that sent a shiver down your spine. “Fuck,” he muttered, his voice hoarse as his hand slid from your hair to cup your jaw, his thumb brushing over your cheek. “Alright. You sure about this?”
You nodded, your lips parting slightly as you gave him a wicked grin. “Positive.”
He didn’t waste any more time. His hand found its way back to your hair, his grip firm but careful as he guided you back to him. “Good girl,” he murmured, his voice rough as gravel as you took him again, deeper this time, his hips rolling forward just enough to test your limits.
The sound he made was low and guttural, almost a growl, as he watched you, his free hand gripping the edge of the couch so tightly his knuckles went white. “Jesus,” he muttered, his voice breaking as your hands gripped his thighs for balance, your movements eager and unrelenting. “You’re… fuckin’ perfect.”
The tension in the room was electric, every noise, every breath amplifying the heat between you. Joel’s composure was unraveling, his usual stoic demeanor cracking as he gave in to you completely. And for a fleeting moment, as his fingers brushed against your cheek in a surprisingly tender gesture, you wondered if there was something more to the way he looked at you—something deeper.
But before the thought could settle, Joel groaned your name, the sound low and guttural, reverberating through the quiet room. His hips stuttered, his control slipping as he came, his hand tightening in your hair, his breaths ragged and uneven. You didn’t hesitate, swallowing every drop, the heat of him lingering on your tongue as you pulled back, licking your lips with a slow, deliberate motion that made his chest rise and fall even harder.
“Damn,” he muttered, his voice still thick with desire as he glanced down at you, a faint smirk tugging at the corner of his lips. “You’re gonna kill me one of these days.”
You grinned, wiping your lips with the back of your hand as you pushed yourself up. “Wouldn’t want you going soft on me, Miller.”
“Fuck,” Joel groaned, running a hand through his hair as he stood, his other hand reaching for yours. “Let’s go upstairs,” he muttered, his voice rough but full of purpose. His cock brushed against his abdomen with each step, and the sight of him—disheveled, flushed, and fully undone—was enough to make your stomach flip.
You laughed, letting him guide you up the stairs. “I think I’ve corrupted you, Miller,” you teased, your voice laced with playful smugness.
Joel glanced over his shoulder, his dark eyes narrowing slightly. “Get on the bed,” he ordered, his tone firm but not harsh, sending a jolt of heat straight through you.
“Yes, sir,” you replied with a laugh, already peeling off your shirt as you stepped into the bedroom. But just as your fingers reached for the waistband of your pants, Joel’s hand caught yours, stopping you mid-motion.
“Slow,” he murmured, his voice low and almost tender, a stark contrast to the usual roughness. His eyes softened as he looked at you, his calloused thumb brushing over your knuckles. “Slow this time.”
You blinked, caught off guard by the shift in his tone. “Okay,” you said softly, nodding as you let your hands fall to your sides. His gaze lingered on you, searching, as if making sure you understood.
He took his time, his rough palms brushing against your skin as he worked your clothes off piece by piece, his eyes tracing every inch of you like he was memorizing it.
You felt bare—not just physically, but in a way that made your chest tighten. This wasn’t the hurried, primal need you were used to with Joel. This was different, heavier, as if he was letting you see a part of himself he usually kept locked away.
“Lie down,” Joel said, his voice soft but laced with that commanding edge that always made your stomach twist. You obeyed without hesitation, settling onto the bed as he climbed in after you, his weight dipping the mattress. He hovered over you, his hands braced on either side of your head, his dark eyes locking onto yours like he could see straight through you.
You bit your lip as you watched him, the room’s dim light catching the silver streaks in his hair. There was something in the way he looked at you tonight—something heavier, more deliberate, that made your pulse race. His hand moved slowly, his fingers brushing against your inner thigh, trailing higher until they found your core.
A sharp inhale escaped your lips, your hips hitching instinctively as his thumb pressed against you, teasing through the fabric. Joel’s eyes darkened, his brows furrowing slightly as if he was studying your reaction.
“You’re wet,” he murmured, his voice low and almost a growl, the words spoken as if they were a simple fact.
“Kinda what happens,” you hummed, your voice trembling as his lips brushed against your neck, leaving a trail of slow, deliberate kisses that made your skin burn.
But Joel didn’t stop. His thumb pressed firmer now, dragging a quiet moan from you as he spoke again, his words rough and laced with something possessive. “You’re wet,” he repeated, his lips grazing your ear, “for me.”
The way he said it sent a shiver down your spine, his voice curling around you like smoke, intoxicating and dangerous. His hand moved against you with a confidence that left no room for doubt, coaxing your body into responding to his every touch.
“Joel,” you whispered, your voice catching as his mouth found the hollow of your throat, his teeth grazing your skin just enough to make you gasp.
“Say it,” he murmured, his voice low and insistent as his hand slipped beneath your underwear, his fingers sliding through your slick heat. “Tell me you’re wet for me.”
Your head tilted back against the pillow, your breath hitching as your hands gripped his shoulders. “I am,” you managed, your voice barely above a whisper. “I’m wet for you.”
“Damn right you are,” Joel muttered, his lips pressing against your jaw as his fingers moved with agonizing precision. There was no teasing now, no pretense—just Joel, gruff and unrelenting, pulling you apart like he owned you.
You swallowed hard, your voice trembling as you looked up at him. “Fuck, I need your cock,” you said, your words raw and unfiltered.
Joel raised an eyebrow, his lips quirking into the faintest of smirks. “Yeah?” he asked, his voice low and gravelly, the kind that sent shivers down your spine.
You nodded, biting your lip as he guided you, his hands firm yet careful, positioning you on your knees. He knew your favorite by now—doggy, fast and dirty, the kind of sex that didn’t leave room for intimacy, just raw need. But tonight, as he moved behind you, you reached back, stopping him.
“What’s wrong?” he asked, his brow furrowing as he looked at you, his hands lingering at your waist.
You turned to face him, a small smile tugging at your lips. “It’s your birthday,” you said softly, your voice lighter now, teasing but warm. “We’ll do it the way you like.”
Joel froze for a moment, his eyes scanning your face, searching for something. He didn’t say anything, but the shift in his expression was unmistakable—a flicker of vulnerability, quickly masked by his usual stoicism.
He didn’t ask how you knew. Joel might not have been one to talk, but you’d paid attention. You knew he always came quicker during missionary, the way he liked being able to see your face when you fell apart beneath him. You knew how he’d hitch your leg over his hip, how he liked the way it let him sink deeper.
You leaned back onto the bed, your fingers trailing along his forearm as you tugged him toward you. “C’mon, birthday boy,” you said, your voice softer now, the teasing edge replaced with something gentler. “Let me give you what you want.”
Joel’s throat bobbed as he swallowed, his eyes darkening as he climbed onto the bed, settling between your legs. He didn’t speak, but his hands said enough—the way they skimmed over your thighs, up your sides, lingering at your hips as if grounding himself.
He pushed into you slowly, achingly slow, his forehead still pressed to yours as he sank in fully. The stretch burned, but it was the kind of burn you craved, the kind that made your toes curl and your breath hitch. Joel groaned low in his throat, his grip on your thigh tightening as he began to move, his hips rolling into you with deliberate precision.
“Look at me,” he murmured, his voice barely above a whisper, and you obeyed, your eyes locking onto his. It was too much—his gaze, the way his hand cupped your cheek, his thumb brushing over your flushed skin as he moved inside you. This wasn’t just sex anymore, not tonight.
“Fuck,” Joel muttered, his voice breaking as your nails raked lightly over his back. “You feel so damn good.”
“So do you,” you gasped, your hands gripping his shoulders as he hit that spot that made you see stars. “Joel—”
"Yeah, baby," Joel murmured, his voice rough and low as his forehead fell to your shoulder. His thrusts quickened, his hips snapping against yours in a way that made your whole body arch. “I got you,” he breathed, his words sending shivers down your spine.
“Fuck,” you groaned, your voice breaking as he pushed even deeper. “I feel you so deep,” you gasped, your fingers clawing at his back. The weight of him, the heat, the stretch—it was overwhelming in the best way.
Joel’s lips brushed against your neck, the coarse scrape of his beard a contrast to the softness of his mouth. He kissed you there, slow and deliberate, as though savoring the taste of your skin. But then, his kisses began to inch upward, moving with purpose—along the column of your neck, over your jaw, each one sending a ripple of heat through you.
You moaned, your hands gripping his shoulders as his lips lingered just below your chin. His pace quickened, his thrusts deeper, harder, but his kisses softer, more purposeful, like he was memorizing every inch of you.
“Joel,” you gasped, your voice trembling as his lips hovered dangerously close to yours. Your eyes fluttered open, meeting his dark, hooded gaze for a fleeting moment before they slipped shut again as he thrust into you with enough force to steal your breath.
He caught your wrists suddenly, pinning your hands above your head with one large, calloused hand, his grip firm but not harsh. The other hand slid under your thigh, hitching it higher to deepen the angle. “Let me,” he murmured, his voice raw and laced with something you hadn’t heard before—something close to desperation.
“Joel,” you warned, your voice trembling as his lips ghosted over yours, his breath hot and uneven against your mouth.
“Please,” he whispered, the single word heavy, his tone stripped of all its usual gruffness. And before you could respond, his lips met yours in a kiss so fervent, so unrestrained, that it stole every thought from your mind.
It wasn’t soft—it was passionate, consuming, like he’d been holding back for far too long. His mouth claimed yours, his lips moving against yours with a hunger that matched the way his body moved inside you. His tongue swept against yours, his grip on your wrists tightening as if to keep you grounded.
The kiss made everything shift, the weight of it hitting you like a wave. Joel wasn’t just fucking you anymore—he was with you, every touch, every movement speaking to something he couldn’t quite say out loud. His hips snapped harder now, his groans muffled against your lips as he swallowed every sound you made as you both finally came in perfect unison.
When he finally pulled back, his forehead rested against yours, his breath mingling with yours as you both struggled to catch it. His dark eyes searched yours, his thumb brushing lightly over your wrist where he still held it above your head.
“Joel,” you whispered, your voice shaky, the weight of what had just happened pressing down on you.
But Joel didn’t say anything, not right away. Instead, he leaned down, capturing your lips in another kiss—softer this time, almost tender. His lips lingered on yours, like he was trying to memorize the feel of you, as if that kiss was meant to say what he couldn’t put into words. Whatever this was, it felt heavy, real, and it scared you more than you cared to admit.
You shifted, pulling away slightly to look at him. His face was uncharacteristically open, his usual guarded expression replaced with something raw, vulnerable. It was too much, too close, and you didn’t know what to say.
“Well,” you muttered, your voice breaking the silence as you pushed yourself up, your legs still shaky as you reached for your clothes. “I should probably go.”
Joel frowned, sitting up slightly, his bare chest glistening in the dim light as he watched you. “You’re leaving?” he asked, his voice gruff but tinged with something you didn’t expect—disappointment.
“Yeah,” you stammered, fumbling with your pants as you buttoned them. You avoided his gaze, focusing on the task at hand as you tried to come up with something, anything, to make this feel less... heavy. “I’ve, uh… I’ve got things to do,” you said finally, the excuse weak even to your own ears.
Joel leaned back against the headboard, his breathing still heavy, his eyes fixed on you as you moved around the room. He was silent for a long moment, and you felt the weight of his gaze like a physical thing, pressing down on you.
“You sure that’s why you’re leavin’?” he asked, his voice low but steady, his question cutting through the air like a knife.
You froze, your hands fumbling as you grabbed your jacket. You didn’t look at him, couldn’t look at him, because the way he was looking at you—like he was trying to figure you out, like he cared—was too much. “Yeah,” you said quickly, your voice flat. “That’s it.”
But Joel wasn’t stupid, and you knew he didn’t believe you. He let out a quiet sigh, his head tilting back against the headboard as he watched you, his dark eyes narrowing slightly. “You’re not built for this, are you?” he murmured, almost to himself.
You flinched, the words hitting closer to home than you wanted to admit. “Don’t make this something it’s not, Joel,” you said sharply, finally turning to face him. “It’s just sex.”
Joel’s jaw tightened, his gaze hardening as he studied you. “If that’s all it is,” he said, his voice rough, “then why are you runnin’?”
You didn’t have an answer for that—not one you were ready to admit, anyway. So instead, you pulled your jacket on, forcing a smile as you stepped toward the door. “See you around, Miller,” you said, your tone deliberately casual, as if the tension between you didn’t exist.
⋆𐙚₊˚⊹♡
Joel’s words haunted you, replaying over and over in your head: “If that’s all it is, then why are you runnin’?”
It had been days since you’d last seen him, and you’d tried everything to shake him from your system. Your fingers weren’t enough, and humping your pillow only left you frustrated. Hell, you even considered finding someone else to fuck—someone who didn’t look at you the way Joel did, who didn’t make you feel like you were standing on the edge of something you didn’t know how to handle. But no matter what you did, deep down, you knew the truth: you didn’t just want someone. You needed him.
“Fuck,” you muttered under your breath, glancing at the clock. It was past 1 a.m. Joel would be pissed—you knew that. But you didn’t care. The thought of another night without him was unbearable, and before you could overthink it, you were already out the door, making your way to his house.
The door creaked softly as you let yourself in, the weight of the key in your pocket feeling heavier than usual. You climbed the stairs quietly, the familiar scent of his house wrapping around you like a blanket. When you reached his room, the sight of him stopped you in your tracks.
Joel was fast asleep, his chest rising and falling steadily. The soft glow of moonlight streamed through the window, highlighting the silver in his hair, the lines on his face that seemed softer in sleep. For a moment, you hesitated, your resolve faltering as you watched him. He looked peaceful—something you rarely saw.
“Joel,” you whispered, your voice barely audible as you stood at the edge of the bed. He didn’t stir. You tried again, a little louder this time. “Joel.”
He jolted awake with a start, his hand instinctively reaching for a weapon that wasn’t there. “Fucking hell,” he muttered, his voice thick with sleep as he squinted at you in the dim light. “You scared the shit outta me.” He reached over, flipping on the lamp. The warm light illuminated the room, his brow furrowed as he took you in.
“I could’ve shot you,” he grumbled, running a hand down his face as he sat up.
“Your gun’s downstairs,” you said simply, your tone light, though your heart was racing. You crossed your arms, standing awkwardly by the bed as he stared at you.
Joel’s eyes narrowed, his annoyance evident as he leaned back against the headboard. “The hell are you doin’ here? It’s one in the goddamn mornin’.”
You swallowed hard, your confidence wavering under his gaze. “I… I couldn’t sleep,” you admitted, the words tumbling out before you could stop them.
He raised an eyebrow, his expression softening just slightly as he watched you. “So you thought wakin’ me up was a good idea?”
You shrugged, your lips twitching into a faint smirk despite yourself. “You’re awake now, aren’t you?”
Joel let out a quiet huff, shaking his head as he looked at you. His expression was unreadable, but it didn’t matter.
You knew this dance—knew how to dissolve the tension in the way you always did. Slowly, you reached for the hem of your shirt, starting to pull it over your head.
This you knew how to do.
“Stop,” he said, his voice low but firm. He sighed, sitting up straighter in bed, running a hand through his already-messy hair. “Just… stop.”
Your hands froze mid-motion, the fabric falling back into place as you stared at him. “Oh,” you muttered, the word quiet as you smoothed your shirt back down. “Okay.”
Joel’s jaw clenched, his eyes fixed on the floor as he avoided your gaze. “I think… we should stop,” he said finally, his voice rough, like the words were being dragged out of him.
“Stop what?” you asked, your brow furrowing as a sharp sting of disappointment coursed through you.
“This,” he said, gesturing vaguely between the two of you. “What we’ve been doin’. I think it’s time to stop.”
Your chest tightened, the words hitting you harder than you’d expected. You masked it with a scoff, trying to brush it off like it didn’t matter. “You got a girlfriend or something now?” you joked, your voice light, but the edge of bitterness still slipped through.
Joel’s head snapped up at that, his dark eyes meeting yours for a moment before he quickly looked away again. He swallowed hard, his Adam’s apple bobbing as he shifted uncomfortably. “Maybe,” he muttered, his shoulders tensing.
It was a lie—you could see it clear as day. Joel wasn’t a good liar. Not to you.
“What?” you said, your brow furrowing deeper as you stared at him. “Since when?”
He shrugged, the motion stiff and unconvincing. “Couple weeks, maybe,” he said, still not meeting your eyes.
“Bullshit,” you snapped, crossing your arms as you tilted your head at him. “You can’t even look at me.”
Joel’s lips pressed into a thin line, his jaw working as he tried to find the right words. He couldn’t tell you the truth—that it wasn’t about some imaginary girlfriend. That it was about you. That somewhere along the line, he’d started to feel more than he should have, and it was tearing him apart.
“Does it matter?” he said finally, his voice gruff as he forced himself to look at you. “It’s not workin’. We shouldn’t have started this in the first place.”
You flinched at the harshness of his tone, the wall he was building between you suddenly feeling insurmountable. “Not working?” you echoed, your voice quieter now, the hurt bleeding into your words despite your best efforts to hide it. “What the hell does that even mean, Joel?”
“It means this is gonna hurt if it keeps goin’,” he said, his voice softening just enough to make it worse. “For both of us.”
You stared at him, your mind racing. This was Joel—gruff, unyielding, impossible Joel—and he was pulling away from you, shutting you out. And even though you’d told yourself this was just sex, that it didn’t matter, the ache in your chest told a different story.
“Fine,” you said finally, your voice sharp as you pushed yourself off the bed, grabbing your jacket. “If that’s how you feel, then fine.”
Joel didn’t stop you, didn’t say another word as you stormed out. But as the door clicked shut behind you, he let out a long, shaky breath, his head falling into his hands.
He’d lied to you—lied to protect himself, and maybe to protect you, too. But the truth was, Joel didn’t just like you. He’d fallen for you, hard and fast, and it scared him more than he wanted to admit.
⋆𐙚₊˚⊹♡
One week later
You found yourself at the Tipsy Bison, the familiar hum of muted conversations and the occasional clink of glasses filling the dimly lit bar. It was almost poetic, sitting here again, like the first time you met Joel. Except this time, the tension wasn’t playful—it was heavy, suffocating, and every sip of your drink did little to ease the weight in your chest.
The stool next to you creaked, and you didn’t need to look to know who it was. Joel sat down beside you, his presence unmistakable. He didn’t speak right away, just let the silence stretch before finally breaking it.
“Do I know you?” he asked, his voice low and teasing, throwing your own line back at you from that first night.
You turned your head to glare at him. “What do you want, Joel?” you asked, raising your glass to your lips and taking a long sip.
He leaned forward, his elbows resting on the bar as he glanced sideways at you. “Haven’t seen you in a while,” he said, his tone casual, but his eyes betraying something deeper.
“Yeah, well,” you said, your voice sharp as you set your glass down with a clink. “You made it pretty clear you wanted nothing to do with me.”
“That’s not true,” he said quickly, shaking his head, his brows knitting together in frustration. “You know that’s not true.”
You let out a dry laugh, the sound bitter as you swirled the drink in your glass. “Right. So where’s your imaginary girlfriend?” you spat, the words laced with venom as you turned to face him fully.
Joel’s jaw tightened, his hand curling into a loose fist on the bar. “Don’t,” he said, his voice low, warning. He said your name, the sound of it rough and heavy, like it carried the weight of all the things he hadn’t said yet.
“What, Joel?” you snapped, your voice rising slightly, drawing the attention of a couple of nearby patrons. “You think you can just show up here and—what? Smooth everything over? You lied to me.”
His eyes narrowed, his lips pressing into a thin line as he leaned closer. “I didn’t lie,” he said firmly. “I—”
“You did!” you interrupted, your voice trembling now, your emotions spilling over in a way you couldn’t control. “You lied to me, Joel.”
“I lied because we had to stop,” he shot back, his voice rough, his words cutting through the air like a blade.
“Okay, well, you could’ve just said that,” you snapped, throwing your hands up in frustration. “Instead of pulling that bullshit about having some imaginary girlfriend.”
Joel’s shoulders sagged slightly, his jaw tightening as he rubbed a hand over his face. “I know,” he muttered, his voice quieter now, more subdued. “I fucked up.”
“Fuck,” you groaned, the word coming out like a frustrated exhale as you turned away for a moment, your hand gripping your glass tightly. “I thought you liked it.”
“Of course I liked it,” Joel said sharply, his voice rising slightly before he caught himself. His eyes met yours, and for a moment, his expression softened, his voice dipping lower. “You think I didn’t?”
“Then what?” you demanded, your voice raw as you turned back to him, searching his face for an answer that made sense. “Ever since your birthday, you’ve been weird. Was it the kiss? Joel, you chose to kiss me.”
“I know,” he murmured, his voice almost a sigh, his head dipping slightly as his shoulders hunched forward. “I know I did.”
“Then just tell me,” you pleaded, your voice cracking. “Is it me? Did I do something wrong?”
“It’s not you,” Joel said quickly, his voice firm as he looked up at you, his dark eyes locking onto yours. “It’s not you.”
“Then what is it?” you asked, your frustration giving way to something closer to hurt, your voice quieter now.
Joel let out a heavy sigh, his hand gripping the edge of the bar as he leaned forward, his shoulders tense. “I just… I can’t keep doin’ this,” he said finally, his voice low and gruff. “I can’t keep havin’ sex with you and actin’ like it ain’t somethin’ more.”
The words hung in the air between you, heavy and loaded, like a bomb waiting to go off. Your breath hitched, your heart pounding in your chest as you stared at him, trying to process what he’d just said.
“Something more,” you repeated softly, almost to yourself.
Joel nodded, his jaw working as he looked down at his hands. “Yeah,” he said quietly, his voice barely above a whisper. “It’s somethin’ more. Least it is for me.”
The room seemed to tilt, the weight of his admission making it hard to breathe. You swallowed hard, your hands gripping the edge of the bar as you tried to steady yourself. “And you didn’t think to tell me that sooner?” you asked, your voice trembling with a mix of anger and something else—something closer to fear.
“I didn’t know how,” Joel admitted, his voice raw, like the words had been dragged out of him. “Hell, I didn’t even wanna admit it to myself. But I can’t keep doin’ this, can’t keep seein’ you and pretendin’ I don’t feel the way I do.”
Your breath hitched, and for a moment, you felt like the ground had shifted beneath you. “I…” you stammered, searching for something to say, but your thoughts were a jumbled mess.
“Hey,” Joel cut in gently, his voice soft but firm. “This isn’t about me tellin’ you how I feel and expectin’ you to feel the same. I’m a big boy—I can handle it if you don’t.” His eyes flicked to yours, a faint, self-deprecating smile tugging at his lips. “It’s just that… it’ll be too hard if we keep goin’. Too hard for me.”
“Oh,” you murmured, swallowing hard as you tried to process his words, your fingers curling around the edge of the bar for support.
“Yeah,” he said, his gaze dropping to his hands as he rubbed the back of his neck. The awkwardness in the air was palpable, and yet there was something unbearably vulnerable about the way he sat there, shoulders hunched slightly, like he was bracing for a blow.
You took a shaky breath, willing yourself to find your voice. “I’ve never…” you began, hesitating as his gaze lifted to meet yours. The weight of his attention made it harder to get the words out, but you pushed forward. “I’ve never been in a relationship.”
Joel’s brow furrowed slightly, his lips parting in surprise. “Really?” he asked, his voice low and careful, as if he didn’t want to push too hard.
You nodded, exhaling a breath you didn’t realize you’d been holding. “Yeah,” you said, your voice quieter now. “I’ve never been… in love.” The words came out haltingly, the weight of them settling heavily between you. “So I don’t even know what that feels like,” you confessed, your eyes searching his, hoping he’d understand the vulnerability in your words.
Joel’s expression softened, his rough exterior giving way to something warmer, something almost gentle. “Alright,” he said, his voice low and steady, as if grounding you. “That’s okay. There ain’t no timeframe on that sorta thing. No rules sayin’ when it’s supposed to happen.”
You looked at him, the gruff man who so often felt impossible to pin down, who was usually the one keeping things at arm’s length. But here he was, sitting across from you, making space for something you didn’t know how to name. “How does it feel?” you asked suddenly, the words spilling out before you could stop them. Vulnerability cracked through your voice, a stark contrast to the version of yourself that usually tore his clothes off, always in control, always calling the shots.
Joel’s brow furrowed slightly as he sat back, his gaze thoughtful. “How does it feel?” he repeated, almost to himself. He ran a hand down his face, exhaling slowly before meeting your eyes again.
“It feels like someone you can’t stop thinkin’ about, no matter how much you try not to. Like every little thing they do sticks with you. The way they laugh, the way they look when they’re not payin’ attention…” He trailed off, his voice dropping lower, almost hesitant, as if revealing too much might make him unravel.
His jaw clenched briefly before he added, “It’s like missin’ someone even when they’re right next to ya.”
You swallowed hard, his words hitting you with a force you weren’t ready for. The realization struck fast and sharp—you felt that way for Joel. You had for a while now, but hearing him put it into words made it real, undeniable. Your throat tightened as you swallowed again, your hands gripping the edge of the bar as if it could steady you.
“It’s different for everyone,” Joel said with a shrug, his voice almost casual now, like he was trying to pull back from the weight of what he’d just shared. He sighed, his fingers drumming lightly on the bar. “You’re not upset, are you? I mean… I still want us to, you know, talk.”
“Talk?” you said, laughing softly despite the tightness in your chest. “Don’t know if we ever did a whole lot of that, Joel.”
He chuckled, the sound rough and low, but his eyes didn’t leave yours, like he was searching for something unspoken in your expression.
“Joel,” you said, your voice quieter now, more hesitant. You took a deep breath, your gaze dropping to the scuffed wood of the bar as you found the courage to speak. “There’s… one person I’ve felt like that for.”
Joel’s posture stiffened slightly, his brows furrowing as he tilted his head, his dark eyes watching you closely. “Oh,” he said, his voice careful, guarded.
You nodded, your fingers tracing invisible patterns on the bar’s surface. “I miss him when he’s not there,” you said softly, the words coming out like a confession. “And I feel like he… sees me, you know? Like really sees me, in a way no one else does.”
Joel swallowed hard, his Adam’s apple bobbing as his hand flexed against the bar. His gaze flickered, his usual stoic demeanor cracking slightly as he shifted in his seat.
“And…” you whispered, your voice barely audible now, the vulnerability in your words making them stick in your throat. “And I think he feels the same way about me.”
Joel’s breath hitched, his eyes locking onto yours, and for a moment, it felt like the whole world had stilled. His lips parted slightly, like he was about to say something, but the words didn’t come. Instead, his hand reached out, hesitating for only a moment before brushing lightly against yours where it rested on the bar.
“Is that right?” he murmured finally, his voice rough, his dark eyes filled with something you couldn’t quite name.
You nodded, your heart pounding as your fingers turned, brushing lightly against his. “Yeah,” you whispered, your voice trembling, the weight of everything you were saying—and everything you weren’t—hanging in the air. “It is.”
“But…” you began, your voice faltering, “I think he thinks all I use him for is sex.”
Joel stiffened slightly, his hand pausing against yours as his jaw tightened. He looked away for a moment, his eyes darting to the scuffed wood of the bar as he exhaled slowly. “Do you?” he asked, his voice low and steady, but there was something vulnerable in the way he said it, like he wasn’t sure if he wanted to know the answer.
Your chest tightened at the question, the weight of it pressing down on you. “No,” you said quickly, shaking your head. “No, I don’t.”
Joel glanced back at you, his brow furrowed, his expression guarded but softening just enough to let you see the cracks in his armor. “Then why…?” he started, but he trailed off, like he couldn’t quite finish the sentence.
“I don’t know,” you admitted, your voice barely above a whisper. “Maybe it was easier that way. To pretend it was just physical. To not think about… everything else.”
Joel’s lips pressed into a thin line, his hand still resting over yours. “Everything else,” he repeated quietly, almost to himself.
You bit your lip, your fingers tightening slightly under his. “But it wasn’t, was it?” you asked softly, your voice trembling. “Not for you. Not for me.”
Joel’s breath hitched slightly, his eyes meeting yours again, and this time there was no hiding the emotion there. “No,” he said simply, his voice rough. “It wasn’t.”
For a moment, the silence between you was deafening, the weight of everything unsaid filling the space. And then Joel’s hand shifted, his fingers lacing through yours as he let out a soft sigh. “I thought… maybe that’s all you wanted,” he admitted, his voice quieter now, almost hesitant. “Didn’t think you wanted more.”
You swallowed hard, the lump in your throat making it difficult to speak. “I didn’t know I did,” you said honestly, your eyes searching his. “Not until now.”
Joel nodded slowly, his thumb brushing over your hand in a gesture so tender it made your chest ache. “Well,” he said softly, his voice steady but laced with something that sounded like hope, “guess we got some figurin’ out to do, then.”
You bit your lip as you took him in, the tension between you crackling like a live wire. Even now, even with the weight of everything unsaid hanging heavy in the air, Joel turned you on in a way that made your stomach flip. Your panties were already damp, a low heat building that you couldn’t ignore, no matter how serious the conversation had been moments ago.
Joel’s eyes caught yours, and he sighed deeply, running a hand through his hair. “I know that look,” he said, his voice low and rough, tinged with something that made your breath hitch. He knew you too well—the way your eyes grew hazy when you were needy, the way you bit your lip like you were barely holding yourself together.
You shook your head, feeling your cheeks heat under his steady gaze. “Can’t help it,” you said softly, almost shyly, your voice barely above a whisper.
“Fuck,” Joel muttered under his breath, his jaw tightening as he looked at you. His dark eyes searched your face, his expression unreadable. “You mean it?” he asked finally, his voice quieter now, almost hesitant. “There’s… somethin’ there?”
“Yeah,” you said, your voice trembling as you nodded. “There’s something there.”
Joel stared at you for a moment, his shoulders rising and falling with a deep, steadying breath. “Fuck,” he said again, the word rough and full of meaning. He reached for your hand, his grip firm but gentle. “Let’s go home.”
A startled laugh escaped your lips, almost a squeal as the weight of the moment dissolved into an electric anticipation. You grabbed his hand, and together you practically ran out of the bar, your steps hurried, his long strides matching yours as you made your way through the quiet streets of Jackson.
The night air was cool, but your skin burned with the heat of what was about to happen. Every brush of his shoulder against yours, every glance he threw your way as you moved together, only stoked the fire. By the time you reached Joel’s front door, both of you were breathless, though not from the walk.
Joel fumbled with his keys for only a second before pushing the door open, and as soon as it clicked shut behind you, he turned, his dark eyes locking onto yours with an intensity that made your knees weak.
“This what you want?” he asked, his voice low, almost a growl as he stepped closer.
“Yeah,” you whispered, your voice steady despite the way your heart raced. “It’s what I want.”
Joel didn’t wait another second. His hands were on you, his lips crashing against yours in a kiss that was equal parts desperate and tender, the kind that made you feel like you were being seen, completely and utterly. And for the first time, it wasn’t just about the heat or the need—it was about something more, something that neither of you had the words for yet, but both of you could feel.

one…
What am I doing here? The words echoed in your head like a pulsing poison, eating away at your brain like ants to honeycomb.
Your brother was off sitting in a circle, fawning over cars, football, and all else that fueled testosterone and silly male enjoyment.
And then there was you, hugging the corner like an old lover, its shadows mirroring your open embrace.
“We should go over there,” declared Kate, a ringlet of her curl dancing with the springtime breeze. “You know, to see what the boys are talking about.”
No. No no no no no no—
“Yeah, we should!” Oh, if people wouldn’t see it as odd for you to slam a hand against your cheek…
There was a glaze over your pretty, fretting eyes and restless mind, a honeyed glaze slick with doubt and dissociation. You’d pushed yourself enough by coming here, and now you were being led like lamb to cleaver—ready to face your slaughter at the hands of—oh.
So busy was your mind that you might have kept your head bowed if not for subconscious pleasure.
His boots were shiny, and his denim tailored—and it’s all you paid attention to before your gaze shifted upward to find two remarkable blue-gray eyes peering in curiosity.
“Clark!” he blurted, offering a strong hand, and if you had half a mind, you would have realized it wasn’t politeness but interest.
You, always so caught up in doubts and hyperfocusing on imperfections. So caught up that you never quite saw what mirrored in men’s eyes when they gazed hungry at you: intimidation. You were strong, intelligent—and God—so pretty. Yet you could only breathe in your lack.
So no, when the handsome flannel boy with glasses far too big for his chiseled face and unruly raven hair—when his southern-kissed greeting met your ears, you had no idea it was a game.
A game between the men.
First to catch her interest would be first to have her.
But Clark was different. He wasn’t interested in feeding off the competition, he wanted to beat them to it. To offer you what they could not. But you knew none of this. You only knew that he greeted women as if a fire was forcing his hand.
“Y/N,” you warmed with a smile, shaking his hand in turn. He pulled back, gazing at his palm for a moment before a pinch settled between his brows.
“This is my sister, everyone. And this is my girlfriend, Kate.” Your brother strung Kate to him like a fly to spiderweb. She became smiley again, saying, “We got bored and decided to eavesdrop.”
“Be our guest,” Clark offered, the southern tang to his voice so soft you had to drown out the world to catch it. His eyes were on you, but your head was too bowed to realize.
Your gaze flickered to Kate sitting atop your brother’s lap. You shifted on your feet.
Vance, your brother’s friend, whom you had an insufferable crush on, stood in unison with Clark.
Their gazes locked in a silent contest you were too innocent to realize before Vance, frustrated, laughed breathily and sat back down.
“Oh no, it’s fine—” you began, but Clark shook his head, stepped aside, and motioned to the armchair. His gaze was so severe you had no choice but to comply.
You shuffled over awkwardly, finding your seat—only Clark stood beside you. He smelled of honeyed whiskey, chai, old books, and firewood. You stared at his veined hand on the arm of your seat, your mind wandering for a moment… What might that hand feel like against your skin?
“Surprised you guys aren’t over there yapping about books,” Vance began, his coal-colored eyes blanketing your face like a sinful dare.
It would never work. He was the moon, and you were the sun, warm and bright opposed to cold encased by darkness. But for months, his subtle flirtations evoked a lonesome part of your heart. Perhaps it was the lesser part of you, used to unhealthy men, that made you bend toward his attention like a starved flower. Regardless, you did, and it never made you feel less awful after parting.
When your gaze broke from his, you giggled shyly in unison with Kate, but that strong voice sliced through, commanding your attention again.
“You like to read?” he asked.
You flicked upward to Kate, only to find her chocolate stare upon you.
Oh… he was asking you.
“Um—” you began, nervous to have attention on your voice. “Well, yeah, sort of.”
“Sort of?” he tested with the lazy beginnings of a smile. You realized then how silly you sounded.
“Do you read?” you asked Clark, allowing your curiosity to bring your eyes back to him. As if he were a marionette, and you his new puppet, being pulled by an invisible string so he might study your pretty eyes. Were they always so warm and doe-like? Or had the wine made them more gentle? He wondered as you turned the question onto him.
“I do,” he replied, but when you grew shy and quiet again, he winced at himself. His icy gaze stuttered toward Vance, and he knew then that he’d have to open his mouth if he wanted your attention. He’d just have to work a little harder, and that was okay.
Usually, pretty girls like you would flock to him with no effort needed. Something about him looking like a Pinterest boyfriend, and all he had to do was sit and attract. But you… something about you told him you weren’t like the rest.
“I uh— I do.” He continued, breaking the stretched silence. “Sally Rooney—” he began, but you cut him off immediately.
“You read romance?” Your eyes widened, and your body turned toward him, and for a moment, you were completely lost in his words.
He didn’t pause or flicker with annoyance at your enthusiasm but instead gave you a lopsided grin.
“I do,” he confirmed. Though not a lie, he found himself a fisherman who’d hooked you with the most irresistible bait. Pretty, mysterious, shy girl you were—now he’d get you to talk. “Do you?”
Kate cut in, “We read about fairies and dragon riders.” You flushed a pretty pink with an embarrassed laugh. He peered down at you, giving Kate only a ghostly laugh of acknowledgment.
“You like fantasy, then?” he said so low it was as if the conversation was reserved for only the two of you.
As if fate were aiding his hand, the others fell into comfortable conversation. Not you, though. You were pinned under his grayed gaze.
“I read anything with a good love story,” you answered, so honestly, it surprised you.
“I like that,” he said simply, as if he were talking to himself. When he realized it, a pinch snaked between his brows, and you couldn’t help but softly laugh. He mirrored you. “What?”
“You’re likely the only man alive who does, if you’re telling the truth.”
“Well I—” he began, but your brother cut in.
“Ready to head out, Y/N?” You noticed just how entranced you’d been in this handsome stranger, not for his pretty face or interests, but for his words. The rest never mattered—not for you anyway. You often found it hard to capture any man’s attention, let alone the handsome ones. Even so, a lick of disappointment thrummed in your heart.
You dared to wonder what might happen if you offered your social media so he could contact you again. But the idea sped your heart and widened your eyes, so you stood with a nod.
Vance offered you a warm hug, and you merely waved at the others before turning to Clark—well, Clark’s chest. He towered over you, his honeyed whiskey scent licking your senses as he pulled you into a warm embrace. Gentle, curious, as if testing the feel of your body against his. Stranger to stranger—but he was so warm, so confusingly familiar.
“It was nice to meet you, Y/N,” he spoke first, pulling away. Swayed by his warmth, you could only nod.
Now was your chance. Your once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to ask for a way to keep in contact with this mysterious stranger. But you cowered when you glanced up at his pretty face.
Fate wasn’t kind, and in your mind, you decided there was a model waiting for his warmth at home—and you were only allowed to entangle with him for a moment, never again.
“You too, Clark…”
Then you were off, never to see the mysterious stranger ever again.

୨୧ — hoodie (psh)
pairing. brothers bff! park sunghoon x fem! reader synopsis. you're going out & need a hoodie genre. fluff wc. 974 notes. ft. hee library.
“hee?” you called out as you walked down the hallway to your older brother’s bedroom. “can i borrow your black hoodie?”
twisting the door knob of heeseung’s room and bursting through the door. eyes naturally shifting to your older brother’s desk since he was always on his computer when he was home.
only to be met with an empty chair and a figure on the bed that was certainly not your brother.
“he’s in the shower,” the boy on the bed spoke up.
“oh thanks!” you smiled awkwardly, unable to recognize which one of heeseung’s friends was currently talking to you. “who are you?”
“you’re not wearing your glasses are you?” he got up from his spot on the bed and made his way towards you.
as the black-haired individual got closer your breath hitched. he stopped directly in front of you and towered over you. his hair slightly messy with bangs barely touching his eyes and glasses.
it was none other than park sunghoon.
“hoon?” you questioned, he looked extremely different from when you had last seen him.
his hair was shorter and looked nice enough that you could tell he had just cut it recently. it was fluffy and probably a little tangled, sticking up in some places around his head. though the glasses were completely new, you had never seen him wear any before.
“didn’t recognize me?” he let out a low chuckle, his voice making your stomach flip.
“you cut your hair,” you reached your hand up to his head attempting to smooth one particular strand that was poking out. “since when did you get glasses?”
“a couple of weeks ago,” he brought his hand up to bring down yours that was trying to fix his hair. sunghoon’s hand clasped around your wrist, keeping you from doing anything further to his newly styled hair. “why aren’t you wearing yours?”
“they’re in my room,” you said, eyes flickering to the light hold he had on you and then back up at him.
“you’re practically blind,” sunghoon joked. “how could you not recognize me?” he brought the hand that was holding your arm to his chest pretending you were stabbing him.
“you just look really different and blurry,” you defended yourself. “plus you are also blind now too if you need glasses!”
“it’s a stylistic choice ____,” he dropped the grip on your arm, removing the glasses from his face, and placed them on your face. “they’re fake.”
you looked around the room to see that your vision had not at all been affected by his glasses. everything looked just as fuzzy as before.
“you said you needed a hoodie?”
that was right. you got so distracted by sunghoon’s new look that you forgot that hyeju was on the way and probably almost at your house. you were wasting time, but you couldn’t help but gush in your head about how pretty sunghoon looked.
you took his glasses off and placed them back on the bridge of his nose.
“yeah i have to leave soon but hee’s not out yet.”
“why don’t you just wear mine,” sunghoon suggested.
you moved your gaze from his face down to his hoodie. it was plain black, nothing special but you must admit it looked comfortable. but maybe the fact it belonged to sunghoon made it more appealing to you.
“are you sure?” you asked meeting his eyes again.
instead of answering you, he stepped back slightly from you and held the bottom of his sweater. as he removed the garment over his head you couldn’t help but notice when his shirt got caught, lifting and revealing a faint glimpse of his abs. heat rushing to your cheeks.
“here,” he said once he finally had the black hoodie off completely.
he saw the remnants of blush that spread on your cheeks and laughed. you stood there unmoving, causing sunghoon to raise the hoodie to your head and put it on for you.
you poked your arms through the sleeves while still keeping eye contact with him. putting the piece of clothing on caused your hair to get staticky, so sunghoon returned your gesture from minutes before and combed his fingers through it to smoothen it out.
“thanks, hoon,” you finally spoke. “are you still going to be here when i get home so i can give it back to you?”
“probably,” he started. “but you can keep it, you look cute.”
again you felt heat rush up your neck and spread past your cheeks. you let out a nervous smile as you fiddled with the sleeves. the smell of his cologne wafted off the material and filled your senses.
sunghoon gave you a brief pat on your head and ruffled your hair. the moment quickly turned into a comfortable silence with his fingers still running through your hair.
the sound of your phone ringing in your back pocket broke the silence between the two of you. hyeju was probably outside waiting for you.
“bye hoon!” you yelled walking out of the bedroom and down the stairs. “thanks for the hoodie!”
“don’t forget your glasses ____,” he reminded you.
sunghoon watched as you emerged back from the stairs, and back into your room on the opposite end of the hall.
heeseung had stepped out of his bathroom and caught a glimpse of you in a hoodie that was neither yours nor his. he looked over to see sunghoon was now clad a plain white t-shirt, recalling that he had been wearing a hoodie when he had gone to shower.
“why is my sister wearing your hoodie?” heeseung raised an eyebrow at his friend, ruffling his hair with the towel around his neck.
“why not?” sunghoon smiled, going back to rest on heeseung’s bed.
heeseung let out a loud sigh and threw his wet towel at sunghoon’s head.

TELL ME YOU SEE ME
pairing. jason todd x reader
warnings. reader is a little pathetic, character death and revival, eventual smut, sub!jason, soft dom!reader, virgin!jason, lots and lots of consent
request. here
a/n. thank you both for this ask, not sure if this is what you wanted exactly, i couldn’t really fit it all in with what i had going
you giggled as dick grumbled about the piece of gum stuck in his hair, your legs swinging over the ledge of the building he’d cornered you on.
the former robin had followed you after you’d ‘stolen’ jewels. turns out selina had taken off with hem and you were just the distraction. but that didn’t stop you from playing your usual pranks.
like that time you superglued bruce’s utility belt closed, or put little animal stickers on the cowl of his suit.
all that had changed so quickly. the lightheartedness and awkwardness you emitted had disappeared.
everyone saw how losing him changed you. you weren’t loud and weird anymore, you’d stick to yourself, keeping your weird thoughts to yourself. actually now that you think about it you didn’t have many weird thoughts anymore.
maybe they died with jason too.
“oh come on. i haven’t done anything wrong, have i?” you grinned at the robin in front of you. there was a hint of a smile on his lips, head tilted at you.
“i guess not, but i am gonna need gordon’s glasses back.”
“buzzkill, birdy.” you pout before pulling the glasses off your face and handing them over to him with a grumble.
“thanks kitty cat,” jason grins, before leaving to go back on patrol.
you were half asleep, dreams of him haunted you every night. you’d see his face all the time, flashes of his brutal state would come over you, you remember his funeral too, well the one you and dick had for him because bruce buried him without everyone.
“hey kid,” dick muttered, his hand on your shoulder as he looked down at his brother’s grave. this was the last thing the first robin thought would happen when he got back from space.
you don’t say anything, no jokes or pranks. you just stand there like a peace of you was in that grave with him.
you spun in your chair waiting for the computer to finish decrypting the information dick had brought to you. you’d broken through the locks and safety measured on the drive easily.
apparently it belonged to some new criminal mob boss, red hood, he called himself. you hadn’t encountered him yet, you assumed your turn to meet this lunatic was soon or never, seeing as nobody new about your whereabouts these days, except dick.
and there. you were in. you grabbed your phone to make the call to dick.
you heard it before you felt it, the soft click of a gun and then the cold nozzle pressed up against your neck. “i wouldn’t.”
the voice was distorted, your fingers stilled against your key board.
“you’re a hard person to find, kitty cat. very hard, i leave for six years and then you’re off the grid too. but i finally found you.”
“excuse me?” stupid, you scold yourself in you mind, what idiot snarks when— oh yeah, you would.
he laughed, a cold, creepy sound coming from what you assumed to be a voice modulator. then you heard a soft hiss of air and a thud, his helmet placed on the desk in front of you.
“c’mon kitty cat. you don’t remember me?” he uses the gun to tip your head back.
“what..?” your eyes widen as you stare up at him.
“ah, there you go. you’ve changed, not as much spunk and crazy anymore.”
you snatched the purse of some mugger, knocking him out before handing it back to the lady he stole it from. the woman smiles before going on her way. you hummed softly as jason landed in the alley in front of you, “nice work, kitty.”
you couldn’t help the smile on your face, grinning proudly at his praise, you were sure if you had a real tail it’d be wagging happily right now. “really?”
“oh yeah,” he nods, even at sixteen jason wasn’t completely a fool, he could tell how much his words meant to you.
he stared down at you. “c’mon kitty cat, i’m gonna need those files back. can you do that f’me?” was it mean to use your feelings against you like this? yes, definitely but jason was also trying to determine whether or not you still had those feeling for him too.
your shake your head, dick needs these files to stop red hood. but jason is red hood, so you’d be hurting him— no you have to help dick.
“i can’t.”
“sure you can, just take it out and give it here.”
“no.”
he pressed the gun harder into your neck, reminding you that it was an option, but he wouldn’t pull the trigger, it’d be useless to anyways. the gun was unloaded, not a single bullet inside, he couldn’t risk accidentally shooting you.
“fine,” you scoff, unplugging the hard drive and handing it over.
“i’ll see you soon kitty cat.” he leaves, leaving his helmet behind with you, the camera in it would keep an eye on you and you most definitely wouldn’t give the helmet up, he knew that.
it wasn’t long later until you saw him next. he didn’t intend to stay away anymore. this time when he came to you, it had properly registered in your mind. this was jason, jason was back.
so when you hugged him so suddenly, words tumbling out of your mouth messily. “i missed you so much.” you whisper, arms tight around him.
you sniffled and his heart broke, fingers gently running through your hair as he held you. his body tensing when the words ‘i love you’ escaped your lips. you hadn’t seem to realised because you kept going on, soft rambling, refusing to let him go.
he tried to speak, only to be cut off by you once more.
“i didn’t know how to say it, but you always got me.” you whisper, looking up at him. “tell me you see me.”
“i see you, doll.”
—
you didn’t expect him to be a virgin.
not with the looks of a god and the voice of an angel.
but you embraced the fact, you loved it even that he wanted you as his first. even though you were the one begging, on your knees in front of him, he couldn’t tear his eyes from you.
“can i touch you?” your fingers hover over his undressed body, he nodded.
“words, jay.”
“y-yeah.” he shivers under your touch, a soft groan leaving him.
“you’re so pretty,” you murmur, meeting his eyes as you lick a strip up his cock, swirling your tongue around his head. “taste so sweet too.”
his hand grips the sheets, staring at the arch of your back and the way your ass sticks up. you take his hand, leading towards your hair, “can i?”
“yeah, yeah go ahead, kitty.”
your lashes flutter as i pushes your head down towards his cock, you mouth falling open immediately to suck him up. you hum softly, as if you were gaining more pleasure from this than he was.
he holds your hair out of your face while you gag on the sheer length of him, his cock so thick it stretches your mouth open so far that you know your jaw will ache this time tomorrow.
he groans out your name, shameless with his noises. he pulls you off him, you whine trying to go down on him again, he thinks he could cum at the sight. “i wanna feel you, please.”
you can’t deny him, not when his big icy blue eyes stare down at you.
jason todd does not fuck like a virgin. you learn that when he can’t seem to stop fucking you into the bed. gasping into your ear while you babble on about how good he is.
how pretty he is.
how nobody could understand you like him.
how much you love him.
he can barely hold himself in but he doesn’t wanna stop right now.
“oh— oh jay.” you whimper softly, “so so good.”
he’ll wait, just to hear your little praises and whines, to hear that you love him.
“i know, i know baby. i love you too.”

Part 3 to rindo x reader succubus where reader meets the rest of them and chaos once they see how innocent he is.
Title: dinners
Fandom: Tokyo revengers
Characters: bonten
Fic type: fluff, NSFW themes
Pairings: Rindō x male reader
Warnings: male reader, reader insert, omegaverse, demon au, smut themes
Notes:
Summary: bonten can't contain their curiosity and invites reader to dinner, Mikey finds he likes his new Omega pack mate
🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸
Who knew Ran would take such a liking to his brother in law, doting on him and claiming him as the new baby sibling "sorry Rinny~ you got replaced!" Why? Why was (name) so beloved by the eldest?
Well the adorable Omega not only let him sleep in peace but also made him nice and cozy with blankets and even got him ear plugs "he's clearly exhausted, so I set him up a nice comfy napping spot in the guest room" (name) explained while working on his project, focused on getting a good grade "how was work?" (Name) Asked while letting Rindō pull him into a kiss, whining slightly before being freed "we got a good payout and we're going to dinner tomorrow night"
"Oh that sounds fun!"
"And I have the perfect outfit for you"
(Name) Looked confused while Rindō watched him connect the dots "I get to meet your friends?"
Friends was a strong word but Rindō wasn't going to correct his mate who seemed absolutely giddy at the concept "there's rules though" Rindō said seriously and kissed the Omega gently " you never leave Ran and my sides, you only talk this the people I introduce you to and whatever you do, don't piss off Mikey" (name) nodded quietly, taking in the rules his mate set for him "now show me what you're doin'" Rindō pulled (name) close, looking to see the work he did "my omegas smart..."
"It's been my dream to pursue this since I was a kid..." (Name) Mumbled, getting comfortable while he continued work "gonna need space for that stuff..." Rindō teased (name) who hummed before a heat settled in his lower abdomen and his hips twitched "already?" Rindō had a shit eating grin before pulling (name) into a kiss and pushing him down onto the couch and began kissing (name)s neck.
Four sessions the night before and 3 more before the dinner (name) was dressed in an expensive suit though Rindō would have loved to see him in a dress, mumbling something about easy acesss but (name) paid him no mind, just happy to meet his mates friends and have delicious food. (Name) Held onto Rindō while they walked into the expensive restaurant, full of glitz and lights and (name) felt incredibly out of place, before this he was just a broke university student half blooded Omega and now he was linking arms with one of the most notorious people apparently!
Keep calm, keep cool...
You're meeting your mates friends! You got this!
"There's my little in law!" Ran said happily and immediately squished (name)s face "ran we saw each other yesterday" (name)s voice was muffled slightly but the eldest Haitani just sighed dramatically "and what a long twenty four hours it's been!"
"Is this the unicorn?" A voice called out and (name) looked to see a white haired man with the bonten insignia tattooed to the side of his head "ah, Koko! Come meet my little in law!"
(Name) Looked to Rindō for assurance and the Alpha rubbed his hip, Koko holding a glass of wine "ah... You really picked a looker Rindō" Koko looked (name) up and down "hello! It's a pleasure to meet you!" (Name) Said happily, a large smile on his face and sunshine practically radiating off him causing Koko to pause for a moment, so accustomed to the succubi in their world. If it wasn't for Rindōs own scent on the little omega, Koko would have assumed human or even an angel "the pleasure is mine, little one" Koko kissed his hand and (name) just stared at the action unsure what to do but Rindōs eyes sharpened at the other alphas teasing and pulled (name) closer.
Walking into the private room, (name) was startled when everyone had horns and tails out, they were all demons? "You can transform as well, the restaurant is owned by us" Rindō whispered encouragingly to his mate, (name) biting his lip before tentatively revealing his tail and horns, a bit smaller than the average demon but it's to be expected from a half blood.
(Name) Felt a bit overwhelmed in a room full of alphas but the large blond one with a goatee offered him slight reassurance with a soft smile "Mikey and sanzu will be here soon" kakucho said calmly, sipping his drink.
Rindō watched as (name) made small talk, polite and sweet as he always was while giving kakucho and takeomi his undivided attention through a conversation and the demons weren't used to having conversations with a succubus that didn't involve one riding them... Though (name) had been riding Rindō only hours prior. "So what side of your family is human?" Koko loved finding information on people, especially sweeties like (name) who were all too willing to spill everything "my sires side!" He said easily "and your dam was a succubus?"
(Name) Nodded, sipping his drink when the doors opened and (name) locked eyes with pure obsidian eyes, before him was another Omega who seemed exhausted "there you are, boss" Ran teased but Mikey just stared at the other Omega in his space curiously, (name) equally locked on before giving a soft chirp to Mikey's satisfaction.
The alphas had no clue what was transpiring between the two, they didn't really understand omegas that well but Rindō decided not to ask at this point.
"So, what do you do (name)?" Takeomi asked while taking a puff of his cigarette and all eyes were on (name) who grinned "I'm in my third year of university!" He was radiating kindness and an innocence that shouldn't be possible in a demon let alone a succubus "I'm currently learning (study)! I feel like it would help a lot of people and maybe some animals"
How.
How did Rindō find this adorable creature!
Sanzu didn't care for people who were too nice, they were always hiding something and (name) was no exception to his suspicions but he held back, wanting to figure out the omegas angle. "How'd you two meet?" And now it was Rindōs turn to be suspicious of Sanzu, eyes sharpening at his question "ah... That's a bit... Uh" (name) grew flustered "he wouldn't properly feed from humans and went to steal energy though a kiss and here we are" Rindō explained quick and simple, hand on (name)s thigh while the food came in, (name)s eyes lighting up at the delicious foods and Mikey tilted his head at the other.
Mikey never showed his omega side, in his life that was dangerous but couldn't help but be curious to the newest Omega in his little pack, the little one immediately deferring to him in a subconscious level.
And anyone in the pack belonged to Mikey, it was just a fact.
"Come here" Mikey said simply and (name) tilted his head with a mouth full of food and stood, completely oblivious to Sanzus grin as thoughts flooded the pink haired man's head of what will happen to the Omega.
Standing before Mikey, the white haired man simply pinched the omegas cheeks with one hand and turned his head 'brothel? Sex trade?' sanzu was giddy "he gets to live with you but he's mine" Mikey said simply, (name) reminded him of someone special...
Rindō slow blinked but they knew what those words meant, it meant (name) was in Mikey's pack, the boss was still very hesitant with the Omega and would shoot him if he tried anything but (name) was very clearly harmless.
(Name) Made a confused sound but decided that this was just how Mikey made friends, heck yeah friendship.
The dinner continued on and (name) found the company of kakucho and Koko quite pleasant while he ate delicious food.
(Name) Was slumped over into Rindōs lap on the drive home, fast asleep white his tail swished subconsciously while the Alpha played with his (hair/nape) before looking at the omegas neck and frowned.
He needed a collar.
Rindō would have to work on that.

"Baby-Girl" - Rio X Reader
» next part
➨ rio's library - good girl nbc
「 ✦ full library & archive ✦ 」
Author's Note: The draft clear out continues. I know these characters aren't my usual subjects but Rio from Good Girls ... love to hate his mean ass. I think I may have a few more with him, let me know what you think 😊
Summary: It's your sister-in-law Ruby's 40th birthday so you come into town to show her and her friends a good time. Only you meet a flirty stranger who screams trouble in her house.
Word-Count: 957
Your step falters as you see the G-Wagon parked in front of yours. This is the furthest thing from the neighborhood you see luxury vehicles in. Not to mention it looks kitted out. You can't remember the last time you saw one of these around and wonder if maybe Stan rented it for Ruby’s 40th. But with all the money trouble they’ve been having it seems like an unlikely expense. Continuing to the door you knock three times. Stan doesn't answer, a stranger with a neck tattoo does. Hispanic, tall, dark hair, olive skin and dark eyes.
“Uh… is Ruby home?” you ask skeptical and the stranger steps back looking you over. He likes what he sees.
“Ruby, you didn't say you have a sister” the man calls and Ruby materializes from the corner looking nervous.
“You’re early” she smiles and it feels insincere when you see her two best friends in the house and wave. They too look uneasy.
“Thought I would get ready here instead” you explain wheeling your suitcase forward. “Oh, and Ruby’s my sister-in-law Stan, her husband is my brother” you explain. The man smirks again, his charm is infections but there's something infectious about it.
“Got it baby-girl” he nods.
“Don’t call me baby-girl, unless you’re gonna treat me like it” you smile flirting with the handsome stranger and the ladies give an audible gasp. You laugh a little at the wives crew’s reaction to a little flirting.
“Anyways Ruby, I’m gonna go get dressed and when I get back downstairs we’re leaving. You only turn forty once” you tell her running up the stairs to the bedroom. When your brother Stan suggested you take a trip to lighten things up you were reluctant at first. Beth isn’t Your favorite person despite being Rubys. But Ruby has been having a tough time and you decide to support however you can. Tonight’s theme is Vegas. You get on your showgirl jumpsuit and do a quick face before stepping into your heels. You head back down to find Beth and Mr. Neck tattoo in what looks like a heated conversation. Minding your own business you head to the kitchen without a word. You procure shot glasses and retrieve your special bottles from your suitcase, still chilled to perfection. You turn to see him standing alone in the doorway.
“Expensive bottles,” he comments.
“Who wants to celebrate with the cheap stuff?” You ask. He looks you over giving a satisfied smile and you smile impressed by his presence.
“Ruby doesn’t seem like the type,” he shrugs, coming closer.
“Of course not she’s sensible, they have kids and expenses” you say getting the bottle open.
“You don’t?” He asks and you smile.
“I don’t even know your name, you don’t get to know my business,” you comment.
“I’m Rio” he introduces, making you smile.
“No, that’s not your name. You don’t look Brazilian, so your mom named you something classic, religious” you say knowing people from your years of service work.
“You’re good,” he nods with a smirk.
“And your trouble. I know because you’re not sweating or stuttering around me like all of Stan’s other friends.” You confess.
“I'm not your brother's friend,” he responds, and you look him over again. It makes sense, he’s far too cool to be a friend of Stans.
“No?”
“Nah, Beth and I’s kids play soccer together,” he says smoothly.
“I’m sure you’re a hit with all the moms. I’d be bored of the Deanzies too” you confess pouring tequila into shot glasses and cutting the lime. Tequila before champagne is a surefire way to make sure these ladies have fun.
“You bartend?” he asks perceptively.
“Yup” You nod as Annie enters. Her outfit isn’t to theme and she takes a shot without waiting for Ruby.
“That’s like a $400 bottle of champagne” she says looking at the bottle with watery eyes.
“For Ruby” you justify.
“Who spends that on booze!” she exclaims.
“A lot of people do,” you inform and she huffs.
“You spent four hundred dollars on champagne!” Ruby emerges.
“This guy who’s into me asked me what I wanted and I said a bottle of Ace because I knew I was coming here for a milestone. Why don’t you ladies stop being the IRS and relax” you snap as Beth emerges with a black duffle and hands it to Rio.
“What does he get in return?” Ruby asks unimpressed.
“For a bottle?” You scoff. “A thank you” you shrug.
“Must be the ass,” Annie says, making you laugh.
“It’s my job to know who’s generous. Stan! Nope, Dean well god bless him, I know girls that could get him to spend mortgage money. Annie, you had a good one” you deduce handing the ladies their drinks. Beth sends you a heated glance full of animosity. Rio chuckles seemingly amused.
“What about him?” Annie asks glaring at the tattooed visitor. He raises a brow with a smirk.
“Nope; and he’s got it too. He’s possessive so he’d probably cash out on his wife and kids. You know, as an ego thing. Might leave a good tip for his regulars. Not just anyone though.” You say throwing a shot back. “Am I right?” You ask and he smiles heading towards you, his cologne is intoxicating and expensive.
“She’s trouble Ruby” he says. “Nice meeting you baby-girl” he says reaching into his pocket and pulling out a wad of cash. He places it in your hands. “On me”. He walks out without a care in the world and you count five hundred dollars.
“Happy birthday Ruby!” You smile handing her the funds.
“You have to teach me how to do that” Annie remarks as Ruby and Beth look shocked.

I think I NEED a some head canons about about Jason Todd meeting his lovely girlfriend at one of Bruces annoying get together at the opera where an ballet piece plays as entertainment, just with the slight specialty that she’s the ballerina
Btw love your work <3
Jason Todd Gala Meet Cute Headcanons
— To be frank, Jason Todd hates galas but when Dick doesn't want to go alone or when he wants to support Bruce or Cass he'll be there. Family is Family.
— When he first sees you his jaw nearly drops because he's never seen anybody as stunning as you. As graceful as a swan, you glide across the stage with ethereal elegance. Each movement is a dance of precision and passion, your body a canvas painting a story of love and longing. Jason Tood was now indeed a lovesick boy.
— You've got the poor boy hooked, watching you like you're his last meal. Even Dick could see, that you caught Jason's eye. At the end of your performance, you took a bow and you looked right over at him and smiled.
— He wasn't sure if that had really been meant for him but that didn't stop him from blushing a bit. So he's nearly on the floor begging Bruce for your name or to at least introduce him and he agrees just so Jason would calm down.
— Bruce invites you to join the rest of the gala if you're interested, since his son was very fond of your performance, "Oh is he the one with the little white strip in his hair? he's quite cute isn't he?".
—Dick's grinning ear to ear, watching his brother stare at you from across the room, while guides you to one of the private bathrooms. He'd never seen Jason so whipped for a girl who he didn't even know.
— Once you finally finished changing, you found yourself drinking a glass of red wine, standing in the corner alone. You usually don't come to events like these but since you were personally invited by Bruce Wayne you saw no reason not to.
— When Jason spots you from across the room, he debates on waiting for Bruce to introduce the two of you but just says fuck it and goes for it.
— "I didn't know ballerinas, came to galas like these, there's not much fun doll," he asks putting his hand out for yours. You hesitate but place yours on top of his, allowing him to kiss the back of your hand. "Only when pretty boys like you request for us," you say giggling, and now for sure you're fucked. Jason Todd wasn't just cute, he was hot.
— He butters you up by asking your favorite composer, "Well I've never performed any of his music but I'm quite the fan of Vivaldi" you say while he leans against the wall next to you. He asks the questions and lets you do most of the talking since he'd prefer to listen to you. By the end of the night, there was nothing Jason didn't know about you but it seemed like you hadn't gotten to know him.
— He had spent the whole night flirting with you and buttering you up and you're not even surprised when he asks to walk you out, "Why not but only on one condition, you have to take me out on a date and let me get to know you this time" and Jason had no objections to that.
— Now you've got the Jason Todd following behind you, people are whispering and watching the two of you. How'd you manage to pull one of Bruce Wayne's sons, especially the standoffish one? You weren't even his girlfriend yet and people couldn't stop talking about you and exactly what Jason wanted, well at least before he made you his.

Tangled Lines | 1 | - Seungmin
Seungmin x Lee Know's sister
What started as a simple favor, dropping off a bag, spirals into a whirlwind of unexpected feelings and unspoken tension.
Part 2: Caught in the Middle | Part 3: Future Hyung-in-Law
It was supposed to be a quick errand. Lee Know had left his bag at home, and you were on your way to Seoul for a short trip anyway. You’d planned to drop it off at his dorm – no big deal. You didn’t expect much, certainly not a run-in with anyone other than your brother.
You followed the directions Lee Know had sent you and pulled up to the apartment complex. He'd mentioned his dorm several times, but this was the first time you’d ever actually been here. As you walked up to the door, you hesitated for a moment, unsure.
You rang the doorbell and waited. After a few moments, the door swung open, and there stood a guy you didn’t recognize.
He was tall-ish, dressed casually, with messy dark hair and an easy smile. And though you didn’t know exactly who he was, you couldn’t help but notice how cute he looked, his eyes lighting up with surprise and curiosity when he saw you standing there with a bag in hand.
“Hi…?” You hesitated, unsure if you had the right place. “Uh, I’m looking for Lee Minho? I’m his sister – he left something at home and I’m supposed to drop it off.”
The guy blinked in confusion for a split second, then his expression softened into something warmer. “Ah, so you’re his sister. He didn’t really mention that he has one. I’m Seungmin, by the way. Hyung isn’t home right now, but you’re welcome to wait.”
You were still standing at the door, processing everything. This was definitely not Lee Know. You had imagined this whole interaction would be simple: drop off the bag, say a quick hello, and head out. But there was something about Seungmin’s easy going demeanor that made you hesitate.
“Oh,” you said, realizing you were probably standing there awkwardly. You tried to adjust the bag in your hand, giving him a nervous smile. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to interrupt. I can just leave it here—”
“No, no,” Seungmin cut you off, holding up his hands in a gesture of reassurance. “It’s fine. Come on in. He would probably kill me if I didn’t let you inside. Lee Know’s stuff is everywhere, though – warning in advance.” He gave a sheepish grin, clearly used to the chaos.
“Okay, thanks,” you said, stepping inside.
As soon as you entered, you realized that he was right – Lee Know’s ‘stuff’ was indeed scattered everywhere. Shoes piled near the door, jackets on the couch, random snacks, and clutter in every corner. It felt so… lived-in. Real. It was kind of charming, in a messy, chaotic way.
“So, do you guys always live like this?” you asked, half teasing, half amused by the clutter.
Seungmin chuckled. “You should see Felix’s side. This is nothing compared to his mess.” He led you into the living room, where he motioned to the couch. “Make yourself at home. I’ll grab some water for you while you wait.”
As Seungmin disappeared into the kitchen, you sat down on the couch, looking around. You hadn’t expected to spend time here, but the laid-back atmosphere made it feel oddly comfortable. You noticed a few framed photos of the group on the wall – some from concerts, others just candid shots of the guys laughing together.
Seungmin returned with a glass of water and handed it to you. He sat down on the arm of the couch, casually resting one foot on the seat. He didn’t seem rushed, nor did he act weird about the fact that you were here in Lee Know’s absence.
“So, I take it you and Lee Know are pretty close?” Seungmin asked, taking a sip from his own glass of water.
“Yeah, we’re close,” you said with a smile. “He’s my older brother, so, of course, he’s annoying. But that’s what older brothers are for, right?”
Seungmin nodded, his lips curving into a grin. “I know exactly what you mean.”
You laughed, the easy back-and-forth making you feel more comfortable. And, truth be told, you found yourself glancing at him more than you had planned. He was cute, undeniably so, with his expressive eyes and the way he seemed so effortlessly relaxed even in the middle of a stranger walking into his home.
You casually brought up something about how Lee Know was always messing around with his bandmates, and Seungmin smiled at the comment, sharing a story of their last rehearsal and how Lee Know had pulled a prank on Hyunjin. It felt so easy, like you were just chatting with a friend you’d known forever.
A few minutes later, you heard the door open, and you looked up to see Lee Know walking in with Felix and I.N trailing behind him. He froze when he saw you sitting there with Seungmin, a strange look flashing across his face.
“Uh,” Lee Know said, his voice tinged with surprise and something else you couldn’t quite place. “What are you doing here?”
“I brought your bag,” you said casually, holding it up for him. “You left it at home. Seungmin was nice enough to let me wait for you.”
Lee Know shot a quick glance at Seungmin, who was now grinning, clearly enjoying the moment. “So you two are already chatting it up?”
“Yeah,” Seungmin replied smoothly. “We were just getting to know each other. Your sister’s cool.”
Seungmin didn’t just mean it as a compliment; there was a teasing note to his voice, and you could tell he was just enjoying the moment with Lee Know. But there was something in the way he spoke, as though he was daring Lee Know to be annoyed. You could tell it was playful – he wasn’t quite serious, and he didn’t think anything more would come from it. After all, he didn’t even want to start anything that might cause trouble. But for now, he wanted to tease Lee Know, especially since it was so easy to get a rise out of him like that.
You stood up, handing Lee Know the bag. “I’ll leave you guys to it.”
You could tell by the way Seungmin looked at you that he wasn’t just teasing you; there was something more genuine behind the conversation. But of course, you’d never let your brother know that.
-----
Felix, ever the social butterfly, had exchanged numbers with you long before, and somewhere in the process of joking group chats and shared chaos, Seungmin had slid into your messages.
The texts started off simple.
A casual “thanks for the water” message after your first visit turned into occasional updates about Lee Know: "Your brother’s sulking because Changbin ate his snacks again" or "Did he always hoard laundry like this?"
You didn’t think much of it at first. After all, Seungmin was easy to talk to. He had a quick wit that matched your sarcasm, and his humor always made you laugh harder than you’d admit. But the conversations had shifted somewhere along the way – becoming more personal, more frequent.
It wasn’t just updates about Lee Know anymore.
Seungmin: “Did you see that new ramen place on your side of town?” You: “I’ve heard it’s good. Why, thinking of coming all the way here?” Seungmin: “Maybe I just needed an excuse.”
It was subtle, these shifts. A lingering tone of something that felt like flirting but stayed safely within the lines of plausible deniability. But you caught yourself smiling at his messages more than you should.
The problem was, you liked him.
Not in a passing way or a harmless crush you could laugh off later. No, Seungmin’s steady humor and surprising kindness were becoming harder to ignore. He wasn’t just cute; he was the kind of guy who listened, who noticed little things, who made you feel at ease even when you were overthinking everything.
But every time you thought about it – about what it might mean – you hit a wall.
Your brother’s voice played in your head whenever you thought about crossing that invisible line. What would he think if he knew? Worse, what if it messed things up in the group? You didn’t want to be the reason Seungmin hesitated during practice or avoided Lee Know’s eye.
And Seungmin? Well, he had his own internal battle.
The teasing texts and playful banter were easy – familiar ground that didn’t require him to confront how he was starting to feel about you. But when you sent him a photo of the ramen you’d finally tried, captioned with "Guess you missed out", he stared at his screen longer than he should have.
It wasn’t the photo or the food. It was your smile, that small, effortless curve of your lips that had been stuck in his mind since the day you showed up at the dorm.
"Get it together, Seungmin," he muttered under his breath.
Lee Know was his friend, his brother in everything but blood. And falling for you wasn’t just breaking an unspoken rule; it felt like betraying that bond.
One night, after a long day of rehearsals, Seungmin found himself scrolling through your chat history. His finger hovered over the keyboard, debating whether or not to reply to your latest message. You’d sent him a photo of one of your cats – curled up in a pile of freshly folded laundry.
He smiled despite the unease feelings, typing back before he could second-guess it:
“Looks like you’re more of a cat person too. Must run in the family.” You replied instantly “I love my cats, but I don’t mind dogs either. Don’t tell Lee Know though – he’d probably disown me for even saying that.” and the conversation spiraled into a late-night exchange about pets, chaotic siblings, and everything in between. It was easy. Too easy.
And then you said something that made his heart stop.
“I always feel like I can tell you anything. Weird, right?”
He stared at the words, feeling a tug in his chest that he couldn’t ignore anymore. He wanted to feel proud of that – of being someone you trusted. But all he could think about was how wrong it felt to be the person catching feelings for you.
He set his phone down, rubbing a hand over his face. This wasn’t supposed to happen.
You’d noticed the shift in his texts lately – the hesitation, the shorter replies. You felt a pang of guilt. Maybe he was pulling back, realizing that this… whatever it was between you… shouldn’t be happening.
And you couldn’t blame him. You’d thought about pulling back yourself.
But instead, late one evening, you found yourself typing out a message you weren’t sure you’d send.
You: “I feel like we’ve both been avoiding something. And I get it – I do. But… I can’t keep pretending I don’t care about you. And I don’t want to mess things up for you or my brother, so if this needs to stop, just tell me, okay?”
You stared at the screen for what felt like an eternity before pressing send.
Seungmin: “I care about you too. Probably more than I should. But I don’t want this to hurt anyone – least of all you.”
The relief of his words hit you immediately, but so did the weight of his hesitation.
You: “So what do we do?”
Seungmin hesitated, his fingers hovering over the keyboard before he finally typed:
Seungmin: “We take it slow. We’re honest – with each other, with Lee Know, when the time’s right. And if this starts feeling wrong, we stop. No questions asked.”
-----
Seungmin sat in the practice room long after everyone else had left. He fiddled with his phone, the screen dark, but his thoughts racing. He had made a decision, one he couldn’t back out of now.
He unlocked his phone, scrolling to your name in his messages.
Seungmin: “I’m going to talk to him.”
The three dots indicating your reply appeared almost instantly.
You: “Are you crazy?”
Seungmin could almost hear your voice in the text – half incredulous, half offended.
You: “I mean, I get it. He deserves to know, and I respect that. But seriously… you’re telling him this?”
Seungmin: “I don’t want to go behind his back. It’s not just about this – it’s about the group, too. This has to be on the table.”
You: “Fine. But don’t expect me to save you if he kills you.”
He smiled faintly at the reply but couldn’t shake the nerves coiled in his chest.
When Lee Know walked into the practice room, his phone still in his hands, he paused, eyebrows furrowed. “What are you still doing here?”
Seungmin stood up, slipping his phone into his pocket. “Waiting for you.”
Lee Know gave him a wary glance, closing the door behind him. “What’s this about?”
“Hyung,” Seungmin started, his tone unusually serious, “can we talk for a minute? Like, for real?”
Lee Know’s expression shifted slightly at the earnestness in Seungmin’s voice. “Okay… What’s up?”
Seungmin sat back down on the couch, rubbing the back of his neck. “It’s about your sister.”
Lee Know’s posture straightened immediately, his eyes narrowing. “What about her?”
Seungmin hesitated for a moment before forcing himself to meet Lee Know’s gaze. “Since she dropped off your bag… we’ve been talking. Just texting, mostly. Nothing serious has happened, and I swear it hasn’t crossed any lines. But… I like her.”
The room went uncomfortably quiet. Lee Know blinked slowly, his face unreadable.
“You like her?” he repeated, his tone flat.
Seungmin nodded. “Yeah. And I wanted to tell you before anything else happened because…” He exhaled, his voice softening. “Because I respect you, hyung. You’re like a brother to me, and I don’t want to screw that up by hiding something like this from you.”
Lee Know stared at him for a long moment, his expression somewhere between disbelief and scrutiny.
Finally, he sighed, crossing his arms. “I don’t even know where to start. First of all, you? Of all people?”
Seungmin let out a dry laugh. “What, am I not good enough?”
“That’s not what I meant,” Lee Know shot back, rolling his eyes. “It’s just… unexpected.”
“Trust me, it’s unexpected for me too,” Seungmin admitted.
Lee Know rubbed his temples. “You’re not messing around, are you? This isn’t some prank or… I don’t know, something stupid?”
“It’s not a joke,” Seungmin said firmly. “I mean it. And honestly…” He hesitated, then added, “Maybe it won’t even go anywhere. I don’t know. It’s early, and nothing has really happened yet. But I’d rather be upfront about it than hide it.”
Lee Know studied him for another long moment before letting out a heavy sigh. “Look, I’m not thrilled about this. She’s my sister, Seungmin. And you’re…” He gestured vaguely. “You’re you.”
Lee Know leaned forward, his voice dropping as he let out a soft groan. “But I get it. She’s great. And I can't exactly tell her who to see.”
Seungmin’s shoulders relaxed a fraction, relief flickering across his face.
“That said,” Lee Know continued, his tone sharpening again, “if you screw this up – even a little – I will make your life miserable. And I don’t mean in a fun, teasing way. Got it?”
Seungmin nodded seriously. “Understood.”
Lee Know leaned back, shaking his head. “I’m going to regret this, aren’t I?”
“I’ll do my best to make sure you don’t,” Seungmin said, a small smile tugging at his lips.
“Good. Now get out of here before I change my mind.”
Seungmin stood up. “Thanks, hyung.”
As Seungmin left the practice room, Lee Know called after him, “And don’t expect me to go easy on you during dance practice!”
-----
Later that night, Seungmin texted you.
Seungmin: “Mission accomplished. I’m alive, and your brother didn’t kill me.”
You: “I’m surprised. I half-expected him to throw you out a window.”
Seungmin: “He might have, but I reminded him how irreplaceable I am. Also, he threatened me, so we’re all good now.”
You laughed at the text, shaking your head.
Your phone buzzed again, this time with a message from Lee Know.
Lee Know: “Seriously? The dog? I’m telling Songie, Dongie, and Dori that you don’t love them anymore.”

She's mine - Jobe Bellingham
Wearning: +18,smut, english is not my first language
The place was full of people. The music was pumping from the speakers, stroboscopic lights flickered across the floor and people around danced in a single wave of movement. You were there, next to Jobe, with a drink in your hand and a smile on your face. You wore a black short skirt and a tight top, the perfect outfit to feel safe and attractive. You felt the looks on you, but you did not pay too much attention.
Jobe, on the other hand, noticed them all.
He was leaning against the wall, his arms crossed over his chest, his dark eyes fixed on you with a look that you knew well. He drank a sip from his glass every now and then, but the look never left you.
"Are you all right, love?" you asked him as you approached, your sweet voice barely covered by the music.
"I’m fine," he replied dry, eyes quickly passing from you to a guy across the room. The boy, with a smile all too sure of himself, was watching you. And Jobe had noticed it.
You didn’t give it any thought, thinking it was one of those usual evenings where the guys got a little too brave with some drinks too much. But then you heard a voice behind your back.
"Hey, baby, what’s your name?"
You turned and found yourself in front of a tall boy, with hair combed backwards and a slimy smile printed on his face. He had a drink in his hand and waved it slightly as if he was trying to impress you.
"I don’t know you," you replied in a firm but polite tone, trying to make him understand that you were not interested.
"We can fix it," he said with a wink. "Come on, dance with me, I promise you won’t regret it."
You shook your head, barely laughing. "No, thank you. I’m here with my boyfriend."
The boy looked behind you, noticing Jobe. "He? He seems too busy playing hard to get on with you. You deserve someone who will make you have fun."
Your eyebrows are raised in surprise. "I suggest you stop."
But you didn’t have to say more.
Within a second, Jobe was there. You didn’t even notice when he came near, but now he was right next to you, his tall and wide body standing between you and the boy. Jobe’s gaze was icy, his jaw stretched and his fists clenched at the sides.
"Repeat what you said," he said in a dangerously calm voice, slightly tilting his head.
The boy raised his hands, stepping back. "Relax, man. I didn’t mean to disrespect."
"Oh yes? 'cause I took it as a lack of respect," said Jobe, stepping forward. " And you know what happens to people who disrespect my girlfriend?"
"Okay, okay, brother, it’s all right," said the boy with a nervous smile, trying to walk away. "I don’t want any trouble."
"Then go," growled Jobe. "Right now."
The boy left, taking one last look at you, but when Jobe took another step forward, he accelerated his step towards the crowd.
"Jobe, calm down," you said by placing a hand on his chest, feeling the accelerated beats of his heart. "You are better than this."
He turned to you, and for a moment you saw in his eyes that mix of anger and jealousy. But it wasn’t just anger: it was concern. His hand has found your side, holding you firmly.
"He was looking at you as if you were his," she said with her heavy breath, her chest rising and falling under your hand.
"I wasn’t," you replied sweetly. "I’m yours, Jobe."
His fingers have gone up your side to the bottom of your back, gently pushing you toward him. " I know," he muttered, but his gaze was still dark, still marked by that jealousy which seemed impossible to extinguish.
"I know," he repeated, but this time with less anger and more sweetness. His eyes went down on your skirt and then again on you. " But with this skirt... you don’t make things easy."
"Ah, so it’s my fault now?" you said with a provocative smile, putting your hands on his shoulders and looking into his eyes.
Jobe shrugged, a hint of a smile trying to make its way on his face. " Not that I’m saying, but... you knew what you were doing when you put it on."
You raised an eyebrow, tilting your head to one side. "And you knew exactly how you would react, didn’t you?"
He looked down upon your lips, and you felt his breath change rhythm. His hand slipped down your back, pressing you against him. " Yes," she whispered against your lips before kissing you with a raw, intense passion, as if she wanted to show you that you were hers and only hers.
The kiss was possessive, but not in a toxic way. It was the kind of kiss that made you feel wanted, protected and loved. His hands anchored to your hips, the grip steady and firm. There was no need for words.
When you got out, his eyes didn’t leave you for a second.
"From now on, if anyone tries to hit on you, tell me right away," he said in a low and serious voice.
"Are you going to be a cop every time we go out?" you joked, laughing softly.
"If it means no one touches you, then yes," he said with conviction.
You shook your head, smiling. "You’re too stubborn."
"Only when it comes to you," he said as he approached again, this time with a softer look. He stroked your face with his thumb, staring at you as if you were the only person in the room.
"You’re mine," he whispered in a low, scratchy voice, his eyes dark as they stare into yours.
"You’re right," you replied softly, grasping the collar of his sweater to draw it back to you. "I am yours, Jobe. Only yours."
His eyes softened, and the smile he gave you this time was sincere, without anger or jealousy. " And I am yours," he said, kissing you again, this time with all the sweetness he could offer.
The rest of the evening, Jobe didn’t leave you alone for a second. His hands were always upon thee: on the side, on the back, entwined with thy fingers. Not because he didn’t trust you, but because he wanted to remind you that no matter what happened, he would be there. Always.
---
The evening continued, but the energy between you and Jobe had changed. The music was still booming, the club was always crowded and the stroboscopic lights colored the faces of people around. But you only felt the presence of Jobe next to you.
His hands were anchored to your hips, sometimes pulling you slightly to himself, as if he needed to feel closer. But his look... His gaze was no longer on you.
It was about that boy who tried to hit on you
You had noticed it too. He stood a few feet away, in the crowd, with his glass in his hand and a cheeky smile on his lips. He looked at you again, openly challenging Jobe, as if he wanted to provoke him.
You felt Jobe’s breath becoming slower and deeper. His broad shoulders were stiff, his jaw taut in a hard line. His eyes did not move, and you knew that look. It was the look of one who is about to lose patience.
"Jobe..." you said softly, passing a hand along his muscular arm. He didn’t answer, too focused on the boy.
"Jobe," you repeated, this time getting closer to him, your chest touching his. You slightly lifted up on your toes and laid a soft kiss on his taut jaw.
"Hm?" he muttered without turning his eyes from the boy.
"Look at me," you whispered near his ear, in a sweet but firm voice.
Slowly, reluctantly, he looked down at you. His eyes were still full of wild jealousy, but your touch seemed to calm him. You have tilted your head to one side, letting your eyes fill with sweetness, as if to say: "There is no need for all this, I am here with you."
"It’s not worth it," you said, caressing his chest with your fingers. "You already have the prize, Jobe. I’m yours, remember?"
His breathing has slowed down. You saw his jaw relax slightly, even though his eyes still cast some glances at the boy.
You knew it wasn’t enough. Not yet.
You lowered your hand from his shoulder and let it slide down his chest, slowly, until you stopped on his hips. Then, without breaking eye contact, you turned around and started to move your hips against him, following the rhythm of the music.
The song was slow, with a sweeping rhythm that seemed to be made for dancing in a sensual way. You let yourself go to the rhythm, sliding your hips against his, back and forth, slowly and with intention. You felt the warmth of his body against your back, its presence that completely enveloped you.
Jobe breathed hard, as if he had been caught off guard. His hands found your hips instantly, holding you tight. He pulled you even closer, his breath now against your ear.
"You’re dangerous, you know?" he whispered in a hoarse voice, low and intense.
You smiled in secret, biting your lower lip. " I’m just dancing," you said with a false innocence, turning your head to look at him.
"This is not dancing," he muttered, clenching his teeth. "You’re playing with me."
You laughed quietly and moved your hips with even more intensity, following the rhythm of the music that seemed to become slower and more overwhelming. The movements were fluid, slow, sensual. You felt his hands on your hips, as if he wanted to control your movements, but you didn’t give him control. You were the one driving.
"What’s the matter, Jobe? Can’t you play along?" you said with a hint of provocation.
His breath became heavier. He grabbed your hips with more force, making your body even closer to his. You felt his chest against your back, the warmth of his skin through his clothes.
"Watch your language, baby," he whispered in your ear, his voice scratching and deep. " Because if you keep this up, I might forget we’re in the middle of all these people."
The shiver that ran through your back was inevitable. You knew exactly what it meant. Jobe never spoke in vain.
"I’m just making sure you don’t lose your head," you replied softly, tilting your head back, leaning it on his shoulder. Your eyes met his, and there was something in that look that made you feel powerful.
His pupils were dilated, his deep breath, the control he was so much trying to maintain was about to collapse. His eyes were lowered to your lips, then to your neck.
"You’re too good at it," he admitted with a dangerous smile. "And I don’t like when you test me."
"Then stop making me your test of strength," you replied with a provocative grin, slightly pushing your hips against him one last time.
Jobe closed his eyes for a second, breathing heavily as if he was trying to contain himself. When he opened them again, he had that look in his eyes "you won, but not for long."
"Don’t give me orders," he said softly, his hands pulling you closer. "You know I don’t listen."
"I know," you whispered, your lips leaning against his jaw. You kissed him slowly, letting your lips run against his warm skin. You felt his breath getting heavier. Then you kissed his neck, leaving a trail of heat down his skin. You knew how much he liked it.
His hands are clenched on your hips, stronger this time. He grabbed you firmly, tilting his head to the side to give you more space on his neck. He said nothing, but he didn’t need it. The way his chest rose and fell quickly said it all.
When you looked up, you saw the boy from before who was still watching, but this time his look was different. He understood. He knew that Jobe would not let it go.
Jobe has noticed.
He looked up and his eyes crossed with the boy’s. This time, there was no anger. No.
There was a silent challenge, a look that said: "Did you see? Do you understand? She's mine."
The boy lowered his eyes and turned, mixing with the crowd.
Jobe took a long and deep breath. He turned his face towards you, his eyes still burning with desire and need.
"See? Problem solved," you said with a mischievous smile.
He tilted his head to one side, his smile sharp as a blade. "Problem solved, yes... But now you’ve created another."
"Hm, really? And what would it be?" you asked pretending innocence.
His hands have moved on your back, and with a look full of intention, he has whispered against your ear:
"You"
Those two letters hit you harder than the bass of the music that was ringing in the club. You felt the weight of his gaze on you, a burning, hungry look, as if you were the only thing he could see in that crowd.
A smile escaped your lips. You couldn’t help but smile knowing how much control I had over him. You felt it against yourself, the tension in his body, the energy that barely seemed to hold. His hands on your hips were firmer, firmer. You felt her erection and felt you more hot
"huh yes?" you said in a provocative tone, raising your face towards him, your eyes crossing in a silent battle. " And what are you going to do about this problem, Jobe?"
His smile was dangerous, a mix of arrogance and desire. He answered you not with words, but with gestures. His hands have become more sharp, slowly sliding down your hips and then up to your back. With a quick and sure move, he turned you towards him, your bodies now face to face.
The world around you seemed to dissolve. The music, people dancing and laughing, everything became muffled, far away. There was no one left. Just the two of you.
His eyes fell on your lips, then back into your eyes, as if he was seeking your permission. But no words were needed. Your look told him everything.
And then he kissed you.
Strong.
Determined.
His lips were hot and thirsty of yours, and the kiss was anything but gentle. There was need, desire, possessiveness. You felt the way he held you, as if he wanted to make you understand that you were his. His hand moved behind your neck, fingers creeping into your hair, pulling you slightly to get even closer.
You did not back down. In fact, you answered with the same intensity, your hands clinging to her sweatshirt, squeezing it hard. You felt his shortness of breath against your mouth, and every time you parted for a second, he came back to take you, more hungry than before.
"Damn," he whispered against your lips, with a crooked smile, the heavy breath. "You drive me crazy."
"I know," you replied with a grin, your lips still so close to hers that they were touching.
He didn’t leave you time to say more. Before you could see it, his hands gripped you firmly for life.
"Come with me," he said in a low, determined voice.
You didn’t have time to answer. He took your hand and led you through the crowd. You felt the looks of some people on you, but you didn’t care. All you could feel was Jobe’s hand wrapped around yours, warm and strong, like a steel chain that tied you to him.
He walked before you with a determined step, his eyes looking for a destination. Then you understood it. The door of the bathroom.
Your heart was beating hard in your chest, but not of fear. Of adrenaline. Of excitement.
As soon as he reached the door, he pushed it with one hand, checking that it was free. When he saw that there was no one inside, he pulled you with him and closed the door behind you with a firm slamming. The lock made click, and the noise seemed louder than the music outside.
The room was small, with a dim light and a dirty mirror, but you didn’t care. It was all irrelevant to him.
He gently pushed you against the wall, but his gaze was far from gentle. His eyes were staring at you as if you were the only thing that mattered to him at the time.
"You’re playing with fire, you know?" said in a husky voice, his breath short as his hands settled back on your hips, thumbs touching the skin between your skirt and top.
"I know," you replied with a provocative smile, biting your lower lip. "But fire does not frighten me."
A dangerous smile appeared on his lips. "We’ll see," he muttered, lowering his face towards your neck.
The first kiss on the neck made you hold your breath. He was warm, slow, and the way his lips moved against your skin made you close your eyes. Then you felt his hands rise up your back, his strong fingers caressing your skin with an exasperating slowness.
Another kiss, this time stronger, followed by a slight pressure of his teeth on your skin. You have withheld a groan, but you could not hide it completely.
"You like it, don’t you?" he whispered in your ear, his low and satisfied tone. His voice made you tremble.
"Don’t be too high-handed," you replied, but your voice was weaker than you would have liked.
"Ah, really?" he said, his lips moving from your jaw to your cheek, leaving a trail of warm and moist kisses. Then he looked into your eyes, his face a few inches from yours, his dark and intense look.
"Look how you’re clinging to me," he said in a low voice, looking down at your hands, which were clenching tightly on his sweatshirt.
"You’re unbearable," you murmured, but your lips could not hold back a smile.
"Unbearable but irresistible," he replied with that arrogant grin you loved and hated so much.
His hands moved again on your hips, and this time he began to move slightly against him, following the slow and deep rhythm of music that could be heard in the distance. Your bodies moved in unison, slow and perfectly synchronized. You felt every movement, every little movement of his muscles against you.
And you let go. Your hands left the grip on his sweatshirt and wrapped around his neck, pulling him closer. Your lips sought hers again, and this time the kiss was even more intense, more hungry. Your fingers intertwined between his short hair, barely pulling it, tearing off a moan that made you feel powerful.
"Who is it now that plays with fire?" you whispered against his lips, without leaving him room to answer.
His eyes shone with a dangerous light, the smile barely touched but visible.
"I swear I will never let anyone else look at you the way he did," he said, his hands clinging tightly to your hips.
"No need to swear it, Jobe," you answered, your eyes fixed in his, full of certainty. "I am already yours."
And for the first time in the whole evening, you saw him relax really. Not for long, though, because immediately after, with a mischievous smile, he said:
"Then show me."
As soon as you heard those three words you kissed him with more passion and explored his mouth with your tongue and sucked it off and Jobe moaned by dropping his hands on your butt and give him a slap making you moan.
You started to put your hands on the zipper of his jeans and unbuttoned him, then you lowered his underwear too, letting out his big hard cock and he moaned.
You cheekily bit his lip making him growl and then you lowered yourself to the height of his cock and you started stroking him by making him growl.
"shit y/n, don’t be a tease" he said and you looked at him and then gave him a good lick to his dick as if it were a lollipop to take it in the mouth and Jobe moans putting your hand on his head taking your hair to have a support.
You whined on his cock as he was starting to drive his dick more towards your mouth, letting it take all while you gagged him for how long it was.
"You suck it so well," he said moaning as he increased his thrusts toward your mouth. " This pretty mouth is so perfect to take my cock" she continued moaning as she fucked your mouth.
Hearing his words and how you were sucking his cock, you moaned feeling horny while you were sucking his dick.
Jobe was close, you could tell how his thrusts were getting stronger. In the room you could only hear the sound of your mouth sucking his cock and his groans.
"go doll keep going, you’re doing great" Jobe said grunting while you whimpered on his cock.
You started playing with his balls while you kept sucking his cock and he groaning while he kept fucking your face more and then spit in your mouth,
You took all his cum and swallowed it.
Jobe looked at you and smiled at you wearily as he leaned against the wall and tried to catch his breath for the orgasm he had.
You rose from the ground licking your lips and groaning again, feeling his cum on your lips.
You approached him and stroked his hair as you kissed his jaw, causing him to close his eyes.
"I love you y/n" he whispered caressing your side and you smiled kissing his lips softly.

Happy New Year
summary: when your bf JJ doesn‘t give you your new years kiss, Rafe takes matters into his own hands warnings: kind of cheating?, friends telling you you deserve better, kissing, pda notes: thought about this under the shower words: 1,8k
2025 was only 10 minutes away. Hopefully the new year would be better for all of us.
"Oh we need new drinks to clink glasses!" Sarah‘s voices interrupted my thoughs about the last twelve months. "Yeah probably, let‘s get a few for everyone. I‘m gonna gelp you." John B said, wrapping an arm around his girlfriend‘s shoulder.
I looked at JJ and smiled softly at him. "You wanna come too? Gonna help them." He just shook his head and mumbled something under his breath that I didn‘t quite catch, but what I did catch were the reactions from the rest of the group.
That‘s how it‘s going for the last two weeks. JJ was in a bad mood lately and everyone got a taste of it here and there but I did the most.
"Alright.." i sighed and stood up from my seat between him and Kiara who looked at me, her eyes telling me I deserve better. As If she wouldn't tell me everyday. 'JJ is one of my best friends but so are you and you really deserve better than this.'
"You know.. we all love JJ but.." Sarah started as the three of us started to walk towards the bar. "I know. I deserve better and I -" before I could finish my sentence, I bumped into something.. someone.
"What are you doing here?" I heard Sarah‘s voice asking in disgust. My eyes wandered over the body I just crashed into, slowly upwards to the chest, then his neck and jawline. "Like watcha seeing, doll?" The voice sent shivers down my skin but the face put a slight scowl onto mine.
There was alway some kind of friction between me and Rafe but I always chose to push the little tingling in my stomach away when he smirked at me or when I felt his eyes lingering on my legs while walking in the heat of the island.
I always thought it wouldn‘t make any sense. First of all he‘s my best friend's brother and second of all the definition of trouble. And I think I had enough of that this year. Oh, and besides the fact, that he's the 'enemy' how the Pogues like to call him.
I just then noticed his hand on my hip, probably from crashing into me and stoppIng me from falling onto my ass. " Well I would If it wasn‘t for the unmatching character showing through your words." We always did this. Throwing a bait and wait for the other one to bite back.
"Hmm, why‘s that even you have such a sweet mouth, there are only so nasty words coming out of it?"
My cheeks turned red just the slightest bit and I rolled my eyes to conceal the effect his words had on me. "Let‘s go." I murmured to Sarah and John B, letting Rafe stand there with a smug grin on his face and his eyes laying shamelessly on my ass as I walked away.
As we arrived at the bar, we ordered drinks for the whole group. "I'll bring them to your table." One of the bar girls told us while writing down our order and then smiling sweetly at us. "Thanks." Sarah and I answered smiling back, John B giving her a polite nod, then walking back with us to our table. We were seated on a rooftop, right in front of the railing so we could see the fireworks at midnight.
Unaware of anything, Sarah pulled me back before I could walk back outside. I turned my head towards her with a confused look on my face when I saw her giving John B a look that told him to let us be alone. "What's wrong?" I asked her.
"I'm meaning this seriously, y/n. We really love JJ as a friend but as a boyfriend? When we say you deserve better, we mean you are selling yourself off way below your value and yes maybe he's gonna catch himself and get the stick out of his ass but do you really want to wait for that to eventually happen?"
I was taken aback by her words but not because they were cruel or mean but because they were true. I ran a hand through my hair and slightly pulled at my roots, trying to release some stress. "I get it, but what do you want me to do? Break up because he's acting off for two weeks?" She shook her head. "No, maybe don't break up but don't try to do everything right and nicely and just in the right tone so he won't get mad. Show him he can't treat you like that. I mean come on, even my brother is giving you more attention." She twisted her face a little at the end of her speech, looking over my shoulder and seeing her brother looking right back at us like a hawk.
Another deep breath ran through my lungs and back out of my mouth. "Alright, will do that." She smiled at me and took my hand. "Now come on before we miss midnight." I giggled and walked back with her, sitting back down between Kiara and JJ just when the waitress came with our drinks. Everyone smiled at her and thanked her expect JJ.
I rolled my eyes at his behavior, especially since he's always the one who complains about the kooks treating service people like trash. "What's with the eye-roll?" He snapped at me. "What's with your attitude?" I snapped right back, remembering Sarah's words. I didn't want to fight but I also wasn't in the mood to always nod and smile back as soon as he was acting like a bitch.
"Maybe it's just you." I gasped at his words and looked at him with wide eyes. "JJ..come on man." John B sighed and shook his head at his best friend. "What? Maybe it is her. Always complaining and shit. Can't I be in a bad mood sometimes?" I scoffed at his words and had to held back my laughter. "Sometimes? It's been like that for the last two weeks!" "Okay then fuck off If you can't live with it!"
The table went silent and everyone looked at him in shock. Without a word I took my purse and stood up from the couch we sat on. I pushed myself past him and the rest. "Y/n wait.." Sarah rushed but I turned around and looked at her. "No it's okay because indeed I can't live with this shit. I do deserve better. Enjoy midnight, please. I'm just going inside."
I gave her a small smile at the end, meaning it. I didn't want them to follow me. I wanted them to enjoy this moment. I got back inside and down the spiral stairs we came through an hour ago. I pushed through the doors as I crossed the hall, past the security's.
As soon as my heels hit the ground, I took them off and walked down to the beach where all the people responsible for the firework worked on it.
I took a look at my watch and saw new year was only a minute away. I rushed further down the beach, a little bit away from the firework but near enough to enjoy it. I was able to see the rooftop from here, guessing they were able to see me too. "There goes my midnight kiss.." I sighed to myself, looking over the ocean, the waves silently crushing against the shore.
"Depends on who you're hoping for." A deep voice followed my thoughts. My head spun around in surprise. "Rafe?!" There he stood almost right in front of me now. He came closer and looked at me like I was some kind of pray and about to run away. "What are you doing here?" "Could ask you the same. Letting your boyfriend treat you like shit again?"
Then I heard the people from the club screaming the countdown down from 10.
I turned back around, my back towards him. "What do you know." I scoffed, not really asking. Suddenly his voice was right beside my ear and I could feel the warmth radiating off his body onto mine. "I know that I would never treat you like he does. I would read every wish right off your lips, doll."
Before I could answer him he grabbed my hips and spun me back around, my front crushing against his for the second time today with my hands landing on his chest. I looked up into his ocean eyes, feeling myself drowning in them like I do every time I look at them.
"3...2...1... happy new year!"
And out of nowhere, I got my first new year's kiss. My lips crashed against his and while his eyes were closed, mine were ripped open in shock.
His hands wandered over my waist und pulled my body even tighter against his, my hands now slowly gliding over his chest and my eyes falling shut. One of his hands found their way to my face, laying on my right cheek. He cheekily but softly bit my bottom lip, my lips parted with a little gasp. He took his chance and slipped his tongue right into my warm and desperate mouth, groaning when he felt the tip of my tongue on his.
„Fuck..“ he growled, pressing me even harder against him if that was even possible. I moaned right back into his mouth before I pulled away just the slightest bit to lick his bottom lip and softly nibbling on it with my teeth in a teasing way.
It was like I forgot the whole world around me in that exact moment. I didn't remember JJ and me fighting. Damn I didn't even remembered JJ himself for a moment. My fingers grabbed his shirt, the need to feel him as close as possible slowly taking over me.
A little gasp, almost inaudible left his throath, his cheeks heating up just like mine.
We were so into it we didn‘t eve notice the whole group, also including Toppr and Kelce catching up with us after a few minutes. Sarah gasped loudly with big eyes and her jaw almost falling to the sand. "Oh my-" "what the fuck!" I heard JJ screaming.
I opened my eyes but didn‘t pull away. I saw Rafe lifting his arm behind me, not seeing the middle finger he showed JJ but I definetly felt the little smirk against my skin.
"Looks like you didn‘t took your chance.." Kiara giggled, earning a glare from JJ while Kelce and Topper clapped their hands and cheered loudly for Rafe.
Maybe the new year really is going to be a better one than the last one.

So Close To Love
Loki Laufeyson x fem!Reader
Summary: On Tony's Christmas party isn't a certain God able to keep his eyes from you, and yet he can't bring himself to make a move - or can he?
Warnings: alcohol, music? idiots in love, not a happy end but I'd say there's hope, feels, slight thirst?
Word Count: 2,4k
a/n: Merry Christmas, y'all! I hope this lil' present I have for you manages to put a smile on your faces! 🤗🎄
This oneshot is kinda based on that song:
Masterlist °☆• Loki Masterlist
divider by @jiyascepter
"Must I really attend this ridiculous Christmas party of that arrogant imbecile, calling himself a-" "Brother," Thor cut Loki off rebukingly. "Enough. Behave yourself, I beg of you. I know you don't wish to attend, but it will be good for you. You have to show interest or Fury might question your probation - once more," the blond Asgardian chided. "It's for your best and you know it. Now come on, get dressed."
Loki rolled his eyes, but deep down knew that his brother was - unfortunately - right. With a soft, annoyed groan he lifted himself off of the comfortable beanbag in his reading corner and closed the book shut he held in his hands. Thor smiled like a Cheshire cat - proud of having convinced his stubborn sibling.
With the snap of Loki's fingers engulfed him an emerald green haze and replaced the sweatpants and t-shirt with black slacks, shiny black dress shoes and a very formfitting shirt - also black. "There. Are you happy now, brother?"
The god of thunder's smile did not cease; one meaty hand reaching out to clap his brother rather harshly on the shoulder. "Yes, I am. Let us join the party!" Thor already marched towards the main door. "I bet Lady Y/N will be present as well," he added with a small wink and stomped out of Loki's apartment. The raven haired god rolled his eyes once again, "Oaf." but couldn't shake the nervous feeling and anticipation flame up inside him. If you were truly going to be there... His heart skipped a beat at the mere thought. You were the most beautiful creature he had ever laid eyes upon. A goddess. An angel walking the earth. And your sweet, kind and selfless personality... How you conquered his heart without even knowing...
"Brother!" "Oh, for Norns sake, I am coming!"
"Okay, what do you think?" You stepped out of your bathroom; taking a deep breath. You slowly twirled in a circle then; showing off the dress you chose to wear for Tony's Christmas party to Nat and Wanda. Red - fitting the topic.
Both your best friend's jaws dropped. You giggled. "Good or horrible?" "Neither, babes. This is... stunningly sexy, yet cute." Wanda nodded; agreeing with the Russian spy. "Absolutely." You looked down yourself. "Yeah? Really? It's not too much?" "No. Not if you try to attract the attention of a certain man - or should I say god?" You reached over and threw a pillow your friend's way; hitting her square on the stomach. "Shut up, Nat! He isn't interested in me - and we all know that." You walked back inside the bathroom to check a last time on your hair, but actually desperately tried to hide the blush on your face - because Natasha was right.
While you tried to flee, exchanged the Widow a knowing look with the Scarlet Witch; both women suppressing their giggles. They knew. Of course, they knew.
The party was already in full swing, as you stepped through the opened doors of Tony's penthouse apartment. The band in the corner - dressed in fancy golden shimmering suits played some classical Christmas songs, but also normal music. You saw waiters paving their ways through the crowd of Avengers, rich people and several hot shots of the American government, SHIELD and the military. They held glasses of champagne and fancy little snacks on trays. Some people already occupied the dance floor, others were chatting or nursing drink after drink at the festively decorated bar. It smelled like expensive alcohol, rich cologne and remnants of cold smoke. It was awful.
You were an Avenger and had every right to attend this party - and yet you felt so out of place.
"Come on, babes. Let's get a drink and have some fun," Natasha's voice ripped you out of your thoughts; feeling her tug you after her. You didn't even protest and followed your best friends; greeting Steve, Tony, Pepper and Bucky on the way.
Thor and Loki were seated on a creme white leather sofa across the room; close to the huge French door, which led to the roof garden. Both men had a drink in their hands. While the blond god chatted enthusiastically with Dr. Jane Foster and a few other... scientists, Loki found himself utterly bored; having to witness his brother's lousy attempts at flirting. He rolled his eyes subtly, and brought the glass in his hand to his lips in order to take a sip of the alcoholic liquid - and almost choked.
His eyes had travelled across the spacious apartment, and had landed directly on you. The raven haired god hadn't spotted you before, but now that he did, he felt like he could barely breathe. You wore a stunningly beautiful red dress, which highlighted your curves to perfection and suited your whole appearance. Loki couldn't help but to stare; distracted by your looks and the sweet smile upon your lips, which managed to turn his knees into jelly.
"You should ask her to dance, you know." Thor's quietened voice suddenly urged to his ears. He noticed how close his brother had slid over to him on the sofa; his gaze directed on you as well. Loki scoffed and played it cool; downing the rest of his Martini. "Why in Odin's name should I do that, brother? I can tell there already is a line with men wanting to dance with her. See all those rich sycophants eye-fucking her?" He jutted his head at a group of men in tuxedos; standing only a few bar tables away. Thor's eyes followed. "I bet they'd do everything to get her attention and lure her into their 'honey-trap'. She doesn't need another one."
"Why don't you make sure to get her before they can, brother? Are you truly willing to lose the Lady of your interest to such vile men?" The raven haired god stood up from the sofa, "You forget that I am no hero, Thor." and walked away without another word; straight to the bar. The blond god only shook his head in disbelief.
The evening progressed; alcohol flew and caused the party to get wilder. By now, almost everybody had fun on the makeshift dance floor - no matter the song. Loki, though, was still sitting alone at the bar; glad that nobody had approached him. After all, he had just attended the party because it was the 'best for him' and good for his reputation. Which reputation? The god asked himself; almost starting to chuckle. He hated it to be here and yet he hadn't left.
The reason was simple...
He found himself unable to avert his eyes from you. He tried, but failed gloriously. Loki watched you dance with one man after the other - all of them besuited billionaire playboys; each of them trying to flatter and impress you more. As if it was a competition. He could already feel the bile rising in his throat by the mere look at them. This wasn't the proper way to gain the attention of a lady. Typical mortal men... It disgusted him.
Another feeling he also couldn't shake was jealousy... Yes, he was jealous of that unworthy mortal scum touching you in such an intimate way. Dancing was an art. The expression of feelings and status. Obviously not on Midgard...
What Loki didn't see, though, with being blinded by jealousy and frustration, was that you absolutely didn't enjoy yourself. You hated these... machos just as much as Loki, and yet you were too kind to recline their ask for a dance and your attention.
"Save her." A feminine, quite familiar voice urged to his ears through the music. The god frowned and slowly turned on his bar stool to face the 'intruder'. "What are you talking about, Miss Romanoff?" The Widow's gaze drifted over to you, then back to Loki. "Don't act innocent, Laufeyson. You know exactly what I'm talking about," Nat urged him on just like his brother. She gave the god a smile alongside a wink, ordered another drink and vanished in the crowd again.
A groan of distress left the god's lips; his pointer finger dancing over his bottom lip in thought.
Again he let his eyes wander over to you. His gaze lingered and he felt his chest tightened. No, he couldn't. Swallowing hard, he averted his eyes once again and redirected his attention to the bartender. "Another, please." The friendly man behind the counter nodded and replaced his empty glass with a full one.
Once Loki had downed this drink as well, he stood up with a sigh and turned to finally leave - crashing into another body. Out of instinct, his arms reached out to steady the person he just almost ran over. "Apologies, I-" When the god lifted his gaze and found himself staring into your mesmerising Y/E/C eyes, his breath hitched. "Y-Y/N..." Loki desperately tried to keep it together; clearing his throat. "I did not mean to run into you. Again, my apologies." He didn't notice that his palms were still gently gripping your upper arms - but you did; having a hard time to hide the blush on your cheeks.
"N-No! No need to apologise. I-I mean, I should've watched where I'm going as well, so..." You smiled and tucked a loose strand of hair behind your ear - a nervous habit. "It's fine, really." That was a lie. In fact, nothing was fine. Your heart was running a marathon; the sudden encounter caused your feelings to run wild.
Loki gave you a small smile as well, "Very well." and cleared his throat, as he noticed that he was still holding you; quickly letting go of you.
Your skin tingled where he had touched you, and you couldn't deny that you were already longing for his touch again.
An awkward moment of silence between the two of you passed, but before any of you could say something, the lights in the apartment got suddenly dimmed and the music changed.
I've never seen you looking so lovely as you did tonight I've never seen you shine so bright, mhm-hmm
Some might say it gave off romantic vibes. Major romantic vibes...
From the corner of your eyes you could see couples starting to sway together to the famous soft rock song.
I've never seen so many men ask you if you wanted to dance They're looking for a little romance, given half a chance
Loki swallowed hard and licked his lips; heart threatening to break free from his ribcage. "Dance with me," the god suddenly uttered; mouth working faster than his brain could think. "Please." Your gaze lifted to meet his again - and feared you were going to drown in those beautiful blues. "Yes." It was your heart speaking.
The handsome god gave you another soft smile, before he gently reached for your hand and took a few steps backwards; pulling you gently with him and away from the bar.
And I have never seen that dress you're wearing Or the highlights in your hair that catch your eyes I have been blind
Loki's hand found your waist then; his other hand engulfing your smaller one. You bit your lip and placed your free hand on his black shirt clad shoulder. Together, you started to sway to the music.
The lady in red Is dancing with me, cheek to cheek
It felt so different. Different from any other man you had danced with tonight. It felt right. How gentle, yet firm Loki's touch was. How he guided you over the dance floor. The way his hand held yours. It was overwhelming.
Almost shyly you lifted your head; eyes locking with those endless blues of his. And once more you felt yourself drowning. No words were exchanged. Neither of you had to. You could read it on the god's face; saw it in his eyes.
The dozens of other people faded into a blur around you. It was just you and Loki. Nobody else existed in that very moment.
You could feel yourself closing the distance between you further; your head resting against his firm shoulder. Loki's heart skipped several beats - unbeknownst to you. And he certainly did not reject the invitation. He let the hand on your waist slowly glide to rest on the small of your back; pushing you even closer against his body. You were so close now that you could smell his intoxicating cologne with every breath you took. Leather, charred wood and something citrusy. It caused your head to spin.
You could also feel his definitely unsteady breath against the burning hot skin of your cheek - and you could swear you could still smell the remnants of alcohol. Martini?
Without even noticing had your gaze dropped to his lips; wondering how they would feel against yours. Wondering how he'd taste.
Perhaps Loki was able to read your mind. Or he could feel it to. Whatever it was, it urged him on to lower his head; nose grazing your cheek as his lips hovered over yours. You feared that your heart was going to explode; anticipation and want coursing through your veins.
Loki was about to finally close the remaining distance between the two of you, when the lighting got turned up again; the brightness almost blinding - and the moment between you and the god bursting like a bubble. The both of you could do nothing but blink; now standing an arm length away form each other again.
"I-I'm sorry," Loki muttered and before you could say something, he had vanished in the crowd of people around you. With your mouth slightly agape you stared a hole in the floor where the god had been standing just a few seconds ago; stunned. Your brain was having a hard time to process what just happened. Hence, you didn't even know what exactly happened...
Loki cursed under his breath as he stumbled into his dark, empty apartment in the Avengers tower. He was such a fool. How could he be so stupid to just leave you standing there? He could've had all he ever wanted - and now he was sitting on the floor; back pressed against the frame of his bed, black curls a mess and black shirt halfway undone, with empty hands. And why? All because the oh so brave and arrogant princely womaniser had gotten cold feet. Seducing and charming a woman wasn't a problem. Seducing and charming the woman he loved seemed to be impossible.
Loki ran his hands over his face with a groan. He was an idiotic imbecile.

Thank you for the amazing fiction "the little things" could you please make a similar one with inner circle teasing azriel for being a shimp for his mate(younger archeron reader) of that's OK?
Azzy baby
Azriel was mesmerized with you. Had been from day one and even now months later he still couldn’t focus on anything else while you spoke. And even when you didn’t, he still watched the way you listened to everyone else. He wasn’t big on public affection yet he always pulled your chair closer to his. One arm draped over the back of it, casually caressing your shoulder from time to time. Or he would reach for your hand pulling it to his thigh and holding it there the whole night.
Not to mention that Azriel loved it when you played with his hands. He never thought he could experience something so simple. So probably not special to many. But he drank in any form of affection he got from you. From your sparkling eyes, the moment you saw him waiting for you by the library stairs. To the way you grasped his arm as you two walked through Velaris, leaning into his side. Or reach to intertwine your fingers together once the crowd got too big for your liking.
“Az”, your soft voice pulls him out of a daydream as he hums at you. A soft laugh slips past your lips, “Lost you for a moment there. Daydreaming?”, you tease him softly and he can’t hide a smile on his face. Something that used to be so easy as well. “Always when you’re around”, he brushes a strand of your hair away, leaning in to place a kiss on your cheek. “Girls are going for a walk, I will join them”, you mutter, convinced that he didn’t hear that part of the conversation.
“I will join you”, he pushes his chair back. “Oh, you will not”, Nesta shakes her head. “Strictly lady walk, spymaster”, Mor smirks at him once Azriel throws her an annoyed look. “Stay with your brothers”, you cup his cheek, “We won’t be long, promise”. He reaches out, hand on the back of your neck as he pulls you in, crashing his lips to yours. But you’re being pulled away from him way too soon and he can’t help but growl. “You’ll eat our sister’s face another time”, Nesta chirps. Enjoying this way too much.
“You are a goner”, Rhys lets out a laugh once you all have made it down the patio stairs. Azriel’s eyes still following you. “Look at how he looks at her”, Cassian adds, “Oh, brother, where is our cold unreachable Azriel?”. The spymaster shoots them a death glare. “I can wipe you both out on the mats, don’t get cocky”, he grunts. “Look at the scowl, missing your girl, Azzy baby”, Cass cooed, and for not even a moment a sweet sticky bun was launched at him.
“No, you can’t be taking part in violence”, Rhys snickered, while Cassian was left to gasp, “I will tell on you”, he threatens. “Don’t you fucking dare”, Azriel grunted but Cass was already running for the glass door, leaping into the sky. “Cassian, I swear to…”, and Azriel is rushing after him. “Got to be fast, Az, Cassian can play a victim well”, Rhys practically sang from behind. “Fuck you, Rhys”, the spymaster flipped his high lord over his shoulder before batting his wings in the hope of catching his brother.

“I really like this place,” Yachi says brightly, “the owner is really nice, and he doesn’t mind when I take ten minutes to decide what I want. Once I took twenty minutes and he actually just brought me food, like, decided for me, and at first I thought that was so nice! Then I got worried that maybe I should be upset that he didn’t let me choose, but then I remembered that I could just come here again so I wasn’t missing out on anything. The food was really good, anyway.”
You hover between the cool interior of the restaurant and the summer daylight as she speaks, unwilling to walk away even though she’s holding the door open and probably letting all the cold air out. With a short yelp, she realizes how long the two of you have been standing there and crosses inside. You stand behind her in the line behind the counter, shuffling forward as you read the posted menu.
“I think I’m gonna get the salmon,” you decide. “Hey, so how are things with that girl you’ve been seeing?”
“They’ve been good!” You’re about three people away from the counter, but the first one is line is like, a really huge guy with a booming voice who has been talking forever. Maybe he knows the cashier? “She’s really pretty, and she doesn’t mind or get impatient when I’m anxious. She also gets anxious!”
“That’s great?” You pat her on the shoulder. “I’m really happy for you, Yachi.”
“Me too,” she beams at you. “What about you? Have you met anyone?”
“No,” you snort. “I’m on the apps. So dating is basically a cesspool.” The giant guy who was ordering seems to be done now, but he’s still talking, being slowly dragged away by the elbow by a guy in a cardigan and glasses. You slide your phone out of your pocket and open your dating profile. “See?”
At that moment, your phone pings with a new notification.
Atsumu liked you!
He’s not… bad looking. If you saw him in real life, you’d probably hide behind a bench or something and stalk him with your eyes just so you could look at him as long as you wanted, actually.
He’s your age, a pro volleyball player, his hair dark where it’s been shaved short on the sides but dyed blond up top. He has a kind of sardonic, dead-eyed expression in all of his photos that you think is really funny.
My love language is… arguing in missionary.
You smother a laugh.
“He’s kind of cute!” Yachi peers at your phone. “Kind of scary…”
“Please, I could beat him up,” you laugh. “I don’t know, he’s fine, I guess.”
You swipe left. He’s hot, but definitely a fuckboy. You’ve reached the counter, anyway, and a pro athlete on the apps is like, so many red flags.
You look up at the cashier.
You look down at your phone and click undo. The profile reappears.
You look up at the cashier.
“Fine, you guess?” Scowls Atsumu, 23, (volley)baller. Or maybe not, considering his Onigiri Miya apron. “Welcome to Onigiri Miya, what can I get for ya. Geez.”
He talks in Kansai dialect, you note, which you’ve always thought is melodic. Pretty.
In real life, Atsumu is very pretty. His eyes have midtones of honey and amber that don’t show up on photo and give him a sparkling dimension that sort of detracts from his aura of evil. Even though he’s scowling at you, you want to ruffle his hair and bite his cheek.
“Um, I’ll have the salmon ball,” you say. “And, yeah. I guess.”
He scribbles so hard he breaks the tip of his pencil. With a grunt of disgust, he tosses both notepad and pencil over his shoulder.
“What, pro athlete not good enough for ya?” He points at Yachi, who squeaks. “And for ya?”
“What?” She says, looking terrified. You put a bracing hand on her shoulder.
“Your order,” he drawls.
“Oh! I don’t know.”
“Two salmon balls!” He yells to the back. “‘S on the house.”
“What?” Yachi gasps. “We couldn’t possibly—”
“You’re clearly not a professional athlete,” you say. “You’re a cashier.”
“This is charity work!” He snaps. “My teammate is right over there if ya need proof. I’m Miya Atsumu—this is my brother’s shop. I help him out on my off days.” He emphasizes his family name, underlining it on his apron with a finger.
That’s really sweet. You swoon a little inside, then shake yourself.
“You’re off every time this time this week?”
“Yeah, about,” he turns and bends over to grab his hastily discarded notepad. You do not make a secret of checking out his ass and quirk your lips into a smile when he turns back around, one he matches with reckless abandon. He has nice teeth, not perfectly straight, that imply that maybe he didn’t need braces growing up.
“Let me repay you for the meal,” you put a hand on the counter and lean across it, biting your lip, stomach singing with nerves. “Eight, next week?”
“Nah,” he shrugs you off, gestures for you to move along so he can get to the next customer in line. Your stomach drops, and so must your face. “Too far away. I’ll see ya this Friday for dinner.”

lunch II Ona Batlle x Lucy Bronze x Reader
masterlist I word count: 1181
a/n: hi, it's based off this request here. We're not completely happy with it, but hope you'll still enjoy it. <3
warnings: smut ahead, mdni, 18 + content
In front of her eyes, laid a stunning coastal landscape, but the beauty of it couldn’t satisfy the hunger Ona felt inside.
“I’m so hungry.”, the defender mumbled. She was certain that the sound of the crushing waves against the shore made it impossible to hear what the brunette just said. But the young woman was wrong of it.
Her brother who came to a halt next to her, raised an eyebrow in amusement.
“You haven’t even touched your food.”, he reminded her.
“Not like that.”, Ona replied smirking.
“Oh my god, Oni!”, the older man spat his coffee out, he wasn’t expecting such a reply from his little sister.
Before she had to explain herself in front of him, the defender thankfully received a phone call from her girlfriends.”
“Sorry, I need to take it.”, Ona bit her lip in an apologetic manner.
“Go ahead.”, her brother waved it off.
“Thanks.”, the football player got down to the beach, looking for a stone to sit on, when she chose to videocall her lovers back.
The young woman was excited to watch the sunset, the sun made her skin appear golden, her heart sank from longing once she saw Lucy and you on the screen of her phone. The sight of you both almost pained her physical.
“Finally.”, you sighed relieved while you looked at your girlfriend who wasn’t in the squad for the last away game of the season, your hair was still wet from the shower.
“Hey, girls.”, Ona greeted you both with a warm smile on her lips.
“Hi, you already look like vacation herself.”, Lucy noticed the tanned skin of the defender and the many adorable freckles around her nose.
For a moment the Catalan player turned around so you got to see the sea in its full glory.
“Oh my god, we’re jealous, that view behind you looks stunning.”, you replied.
“I can’t wait until you come and join me.”, Ona answered, her voice full of yearning.
“We can’t wait either, pretty girl.”, the older defender assured the younger one.
“Who are you calling pretty girl here, huh?”, she teased her.
“Both.”, Lucy said in an honest tone.
“Just hurry up and come here, I’m starving.”, the Spanish woman’s eyes darkened with want and desire.
It didn’t get unnoticed by you.
“We’ll be there as quick as possible we can’t let you starve.”, you promised her.
“Good.”, Ona nodded, visibly satisfied with that answer.
“See you soon, love.”, the older defender muttered her goodbye.
“I can’t wait.”, the Spanish woman admitted passionately.
“We’ll arrive at lunch time.”, you added who couldn’t wait that much longer either.
The following day Ona was waiting in the hotel lobby. It was Lucy who reached her first and gave her an heartfelt kiss: ”Hi, Ona.”
“Hi, my loves.”, she chirmed, giving each of you a kiss on the mouth.
“You look great.”, you complimented her.
“So do you.”, the young defender winked at the two of you, eager to guide you to somewhere you all could be alone without any other people watching.
“What’s for lunch?”, the older English woman asked curiously.
“Just you wait.”, Ona grinned mysteriously while leading Lucy and you to the room you’d share in the upcoming days. You could already taste the anticipation. Just for the food or for something else? Likely it was both.
When you arrived, you turned your head around in confusion:” I don’t see any food here?”
Wordlessly, Ona opened the door out to the balcony. There was a hot tub peacefully bubbling just for the three of you.
Glasses of wine stood on a table right beside it, small plates with olives and nuts right next to them. You could not help but notice that there were small bouquets of flowers on the balcony as well.
“Maybe I prepared a different kind of lunch.“, Ona smiled innocently.
Lucy immediately understood the hint. She licked her lips impatiently: “I like that.“
“Oh, me too.“, you smirked.
“You can leave your travel clothes on the chair.“, Ona suggested, pointing at an empty chair inside the hotel room.
“Someone’s really impatient.“, Lucy laughed while pulling her shirt over her head anyway.
You bit back a comment about how was being impatient now.
“In my defense, I had to wait a long time for you two.“, Ona shrugged with nonchalance.
You laughed as you slipped into your bikini: “Don’t worry, we won’t let you wait any longer.“
“Finally…“, Ona smirked once you had all changed and were ready to finally slip into the pool.
You enjoyed the warm water as it touched your skin.
Ona handed you and Lucy the glasses of white wine.
“Cheers.“, she said, holding out her glass so you could all clink your glasses together.
You took a sip of your wine, it was sweet and delicious. Ona had created the perfect relaxing experience for the end of your season.
You were about to compliment her on that when you suddenly felt a hand grip the inside of your thigh.
Lucy smirked at you, tightening her grip and you immediately knew that it would leave a bruise.
You sucked in a breath as Lucys hand started wandering, sneaking into your bikini bottoms.
Simultaneously, Ona untied your top, pressing hungry kisses down your neck and your breasts.
You felt yourself lose focus. You even had to put your wine glass down, too scared that you would drop it while your girlfriends spoiled you.
Maybe they were impatient to get this started but you were impatient to finish this. You thrusted your hips towards Lucy, signalling her to move faster and deeper.
And then finally, relief floated your body. You moaned as quietly as possibly, suddenly remembering that you were still at a hotel.
Ona kissed you excitedly. You knew that watching you come turned her on, you could tell from the way she was shifting impatiently.
You were eager to share this feeling of ecstasy with her, so you slipped onto her lap and ran your hands along her tanned abs. Her freckles were even more pronounce from the time she had spend in the sun. You felt almost hypnotized by the beauty of them.
But before you could do more than press a few kisses along her jawline, Lucy pulled you both towards her: “Let’s take this somewhere more comfortable.“
You had to agree. The pool was nice and warm but not spacious enough for what you three were planning to do.
Ona and you followed her out of the pool and straight into the hotel room where you all stripped out of your wet swim wear.
As you climbed onto the bed, you realized that Ona had also prepared this. There were scented candles, massage oils and various toys on the bedside table. You smiled, Ona had really been craving to see you.
You could not wait to repay both of your girlfriends. And you wanted to taste them both.
Even if that meant lunch would turn into dinner. You would take your sweet time to satisfy this hunger.

World's worst wingman: Jason Todd x reader (ft. Dick Grayson)
story borrowed from @gay-dorito-dust, thank you :)
Summary: Dick being Jason's wingman.
***
„Come on, just go do it!”
„No.”
„Why not?”
„Because.”
„Why are you being stubborn? I saw you eyeing her whole night! Seriously, if you keep bringing that face expression on, you will turn into an anime character and-“
Jason groaned and run fingers through his already messed up hair.
For the record – he had no idea that the object of his interest in the form of Y/N would be at this particular club tonight.
Well – maybe a faint idea. Just a vague concept of her whereabouts.
It wasn’t like he stalked her a little, getting to know her favorite places to hang out, her work and her home and the way she was using to commute to ensure its safety.
Definitely not.
But even if he did – there was no regrets in his actions with regards to that.
What he did regret though – was bringing Dick with him to act like some sort of wingman. Stupid. Idiotic. Completely reckless behavior. HE should have known better than that.
Instead of having a chance to talk to her, he was stuck by the table, trying to melt into the plush backrest of the couch behind his back, that happened to be the same color his face was turning into.
Forced to listen to his brother constant babbling how he can’t be such a coward and shy and antisocial and that she seemed to be a nice girl and why won’t Jason just get his ass up and –
“Shut up.” Jason muttered, edging the thin line between behaving and getting a temper tantrum.
“Ohhhh! Is my little Jaybrid getting flustered?” Dick teased, grinning like a madman, deriving almost sadistic pleasure from tormenting his brother.
“I’m getting so many regrets about telling you shit about her.”
“Oh, come on, don’t say it! That’s so not fair! I’m only here to help you, cause with the way you’re acting now I don’t see much chance to succeed in-”
“I’m going to get a drink!” Jason stood up from the table so abruptly that only by miracle it didn’t trip over.
“Oh yeah! That’s the spirit! And while you’re at it, can you bring me one more pina colada?”
It was all just a big fat joke to Dick.
***
“Hey, can I have a beer and a pina colada?” damn the second part of his sentence barely left his throat.
“that;s an unusual mix, istn;t it?” she chuckled grabbing a glass and starting to prepare the drink with learned precision.
“Yeah, it’s not for me – “ Jason stuttered, despite himself “It’s for-“
“Your date?”
“huh?”
“That guy over there?” Y/N pointed towards the Dick, waving at her crazily across the club
“WHAT? He’s not my date! He- he’s my –“ it took a lot of effort from Jason to not address Dick as his prey, but somehow, gulping heavily and clenching fists he managed to calm down. Ish. “-brother. He’s my effing brother.”
“Oh, such a relief!”
“Relief? Why?”
“Cause it means he’s not gay, huh?”
“Oh…”
Of course she was asking about Dick. How could a girl like her ever pay attention to a guy like Jason?
“Relax, I’m kidding. It’s only because of the drink. I mean – what kind of a man orders pina colada unless he’s playing on the other side of the field or has a particularly nasty sense of humor, right?”
“Are you always this observant?”
“You know, some people think I’m just a bartender, but the truth? I’m also a watcher and a listener. You wouldn’t believe the amount of drunk girls crying their broken heart out on this particular counter.”
“Hah!” he chuckled. For some crazy reason her attitude was making him feel at ease. Like he could actually maybe stand a chance with her?
“So, here’s your pina colada and your beer. Enjoy.”
The second she handed him the beverages he knew the moment was over. He was a customer at the bar and she was working here. They were not friends and definitely not more.
“Yeah, um – thanks …” he muttered, retrieving back into himself, grabbing the mugg and a tall glass, heading back to Dick with sense of defeat inside him.
***
“Are you crazy?!”
“Stop yelling!”
“But are you crazy?!” with the way Dick was tugging at Jason’s shirt it was truly a miracle that the younger brother did not end up drenched in and reeking of beer. “You had a chance! It was the perfect opportunity and you’re back here?! Please tell me you at least asked her out!”
“I –“
“Holy shit, Jason, you totally blew it.” Dick rubbed his forehead “Tell me you told her, you liked her!”
“Well-“
“Ok, fine, fine. Let’s lower the bar and the expectations there then. Tell me you told her she’s pretty.”
“I’m not telling the cliché that any drunk man would!”
“You’re hopeless. You are totally hopeless. My god, did I teach you nothing during all those years?!”
“Shut up, Dick!”
Too bad it was too late and Dick was already on a highway to making a scene and the biggest commotion this little suburban club has ever seen.
“Dick!” Jason hissed, feeling all eyes on them. All eyes except Y/N’s who was apparently ending her shift, cleaning some of the stuff from the counter and filling in her colleague.
“Quick! Fast!” Dick started pushing Jason towards her direction.
Mistake.
A little tip: if you ever try to push a 6 ft and 200 pounds man in any direction at all, make sure to make sure he expects it.
Otherwise, the mass of muscles may just subdue to the undeniable power of physics. Especially the gravity and the rules of dynamics. You know, the whole a body set in motion moves in a uniform motion and all shebang.
In Jason’s case it resulted in him losing the balance, falling backwards and stumbling upon unexpecting Y/N, crashing into her as they both ended on the floor with a very disturbing crack coming from somewhere.
“Shit! Shit, shit, shit! Y/N? Are you okay? I am so sorry, I am so terribly sorry, how many fingers do you see-“
“Ouch….” She groaned, reaching for the hand he was reaching towards her, letting him help her up. “Five?”
“Three. Close enough.”
“So you’re a sloth now?”
“huh?”
“Well, I said five fingers, you said three. Sloths have three fingers and – mh. Dry joke, sorry.”
“You must have hit your head pretty bad, huh?” he could swear to god, he had no idea where that joke came from, just slipped his mouth, but to his relief – she laughed. Not in a mean way, not at all. It was a genuine, happy laugh. He made her laugh.
“Yeah, maybe. I swear I am usually in a better shape.”
“I’d love to see that.” He muttered, and in his head it was just a thought never spoken aloud, but when she tilted her head and gave him a funny look, Jason realized he actually did just that. Spoke up. Bared himself to rejection, teasing, hurt, pain, depression –
“Ok.”
“Ok?” his eyes grew wider.
“Yes. Ok. I can give you a sample. And also you owe me.”
“Um, yeah, yeah, ok, so – “ he scratched his head awkwardly.
“I like coffee. And I have a day off tomorrow.”
“Oh, okay then so – “ say something you idiot! Say something! “there’s this little café at the 23rd and-“
“See you at 8.” She smiled, grabbed her coat and with a wave of her hand disappeared leaving him stunned.
He had a date. Ish. A meeting. A meeting with a girl he liked.
He could jump up from the sheer joy of this unexpected turn out of events, if it wasn;t for the one little fact ….
“RICHARD GRAYSON!!!”
The yelling could wake up the dead and sensing the incoming sequence of events, Dick quickly started moving through the crowd towards the exit.
“I WILL FUCKING KILL YOU!”
It seemed that after Red Hood was done with his job, Nightwing would be excluded from patrolling that night.
