Below The Surface
Tumblr media
Tmnt 2012 x (Fem) reader
2k
Synopsis: The turtles reunite with a childhood friend.
(A/n): The timeline is changed a bit, they are let out to the surface for the first time but before April was kidnapped.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Moving to a new place is not something you can used to easily, especially a big city like New York. It wouldn't be surprising that parents would lose their child on the first day.
"Ow..." A small voice mumbles as a girl falls on her arms and legs, her shoes, socks and (skirt/shorts) were soaked by the sewer water.
The four years old had tripped into an uncovered manhole and fell in. Who would even leave open a manhole like that?
"You shouldn't have gone up there, what if master Splinter finds out?"
"It was only a peek, he won't know a thing"
"Wait, what was that noise?"
"It was coming from over there"
(Y/n) pushes herself off the ground, trying to shake the water out of her shoes. She squints her big (e/c) eyes when she sees four sillouettes heading her way. They were a bit shorter than her.
When they get close enough, the light escaping through the manhole illuminate their forms. Short humanoid green creatures black eyes, slight differences between them. They looked like they were straight out of an alien movie, but just with shells instead.
"What is that thing?" One with a bandaid on its cheek asks, disgust on its face."It looks like us, is that fur coming out of its head?" The tallest one observes.
"We shouldn't go near, it could be dangerous" The plain looking one warns the others.
"So cool!" The one with freckles smiles, didn't seem to be listening. He approaches the girl with curiosity "What are you?"
(Y/n) tilts her head as he leaned in closer. "I am a human, nice to meet you...turtles?"
"It can talk!" The bandaged turtle yells, pointing at her. They haven't seen any other species beside the rat that had cared for them since before they could even remember.
Then it was the tall turtle that began walking up to her. He stands behind her, pulling on her hair. He watches as her head would slightly tilt back as he pulled.
"Ow, that hurts" (Y/n) complains, pulling away from his grip. "It's not fur, it's hair"
"Hair...interesting" The tall turtle mumbles in amazement.Hesitation leaves the bandaged one's mind, deciding to join his brothers.
"Wait, Raph–" The plaine turtle calls out, but was ignored. First they break the 'no going to the surface' rule and now they are interacting with a 'you-man'.
'Raph' scowls, eyeing the human child. "Are all of you 'you-mans' this ugly?" He questions, poking at her cheek. "Why is it so squishy?"
The remaining turtle sighs as he realised he failed to get his brothers to listen to him. He follows after, standing next to the others. He judges aside Raph, looking straight into the girl's eyes. "Your eyes" he mentions.
His words catches the attention of the turtle with freckles. He leans over, looking at her eyes aswell. (Y/n) just saw two pair of black beady ones. "They're pretty! Like that big shiny rock master Splinter has"
"It's called a gemstone, Mikey" The turtle next to him corrects him.
"Gemstones, I like it!" Freckle throws his arms around (Y/n)'s shoulder, rubbing his cheek against hers. "Can we keep it, I will care for it real good!"
"I'm not a pet, you know" (Y/n) pouts, crossing her arms.
"Are you sure?"
"Yes"
"We can't, we have already been away for too long" Plaine argues.
"Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, Michelangelo?" They hear someone calls out.
In a flash, the turtles had dissapeared. (Y/n) looks around confused, wondering where they went. She looks back up the manhole opening, seeing a ladder on the wall below.
Not having much choice, she climbed up it. She snuck out of the alleyway, being met with the sunlight. She was soon found by her parents, her dads didn't believe her story about talking turtles. They wrote it off as it being her imagination.
Then twelve years later, (Y/n) lays awake in her bed. Everytime she closed her eyes, she finds them open again. She gives up trying to sleep and gets out of bed.
She opens the door to her balcony and takes a seat on her balcony. She looks up at the sky, she would see stars if the air wasn't so polluted. She squints her eyes when she sees something on the roof of the building that was in the other side of the street.
(Y/n) gets up and leans on the railing, trying to get a good look. Were those...turtles? Each wearing a different colored badana, blue, purple, red and finally orange.
The shortest turtle stops in place, turning towards her. The two make eye contact, both not moving an inch. She hears one of the other turtles call out to him, so he runs off.
'Those guys were real this whole time. I'm not hallucinating, right? Are they ninja now? Would they remember me? Probably not'
(Y/n)'s eyes snap open when she hears knocking on her window. She pushes aside the curtain to see the shortest turtle hanging upside infront of her window.
She gets up from her bed and opens the door to her balcony. She watches as he lands on the balcony, a big smile on his face. She barely gets time to react as he pulls her into a tight hug.
"Gemstone! I thought I'd never see you again" He says, excitedly. Then letting go of her, bouncing up and down.
"You still remember me?" (Y/n) says surprised. She regonised as the turtle with freckles, his skin was more on the lime side compared to his brothers.
The turtles grabs her face, squishing her cheeks. "How could I forgot this cute face. Also I remember you by your eyes, so shiny like gemstones" He cooes.
(Y/n) graps his three fingered hands, pulling them down, but not letting go. "You have a great memory. My name is (Y/n), nice to meet you"
"The name is Michelangelo" He steps back, pulling out a pair of nunchucks and spinning it around. "But most people call me Mikey" His eyes suddenly light up, getting an idea. "What if I bring you to lair, I can't wait to see their reactions"
Looking back into her room, the girl thinks. "My dads aren't home, so they won't notice... It couldn't hurt, right" She slightly shrugs her shoulders.
She watches as he turns around and hunges over. "Get on!" Hesitantly, (Y/n) does as he says and climbs onto his back. She grips tightly his shoulders as he holds her legs. She tries her best to not scream her head off as Mikey jumps off the balcony and onto the next roof.
Quietly, Mikey leads (Y/n) into lair. She hides behind his shell as he shuffle towards his room. His brothers didn't pay too much attention to him. Leo was watching a tv show, Donnie was in his lab and Raph was reading something.
The turtles and his human friend sneak into the bedroom. (Y/n) tenses up when the foul smell of dirty clothes and moldy food hit her nose, it was definitely worse than the smell of the sewers.
"I'll be right back, gotta do something real quick. stay here" Mikey says, as if he was he talking to a dog. He slowly walks out and closes the door behind.
(Y/n) looks at the mess covering the bedroom. She folded the dirty underwear, questioning why he would even wear them.
Raphael eyes his brother as Mikey walks out of his room. He hears something coming from the room, sounding like things being moved. It couldn't be any of his brothers, meaning there was an intruder.
He gets up from the couch, pulling out one of his sai. He strolls over to Mikey's room, slowly opening the door. There he finds a girl, folding clothing. She didn't seem to have heard him. He puts the sai towards her. "What do you think you're doing here?" He questions her.
Flinching at the unfamiliar voice, (Y/n) realises she had been caught. She slightly turns her, looking who was standing behind her.
A turtle, a bit taller than Mikey. He wore a dark red bandana, which was a bit tattered. There was a small crack in the front of his shell, makes (Y/n) connect him with the turtle who had a bandaid on their cheek. Then she notices the weapon he had pointed her. "Um...I come on peace" She akwardly smiles.
-
Walking out of Mikey's room was Raph, pointing his weapon at a girl who was walking infront of him. "Look at what I found doing laundry in Mikey's garbage dump".
Leo looks away from the Tv, wondering what his brother was talking about. His face turn to surprise and then to fear "A human!?".
"Apparently Mikey got followed back here, not sure why you would good his underwear" Raph mutters, poking the girl's back with his sai.
The door lab opens, revealing Donnie. He pulls his goggles from his eyes, putting it on his forhead. "What is going on, I heard yelling" He looks at Lei, than Raph and then... "A human!?" He puts his hands over his mouth, realising that he could've alerted master Splinter.
"That's what I'm asking"
(Y/n) holds up her hands, trying to not get stabbed. "Listen, there is a good explanation for this"
A door slams open and Mikey comes running in. He stand between (Y/n) and his brothers, waving his arms. "Guys, guys, it's chill. It's just gemstone"
"Gemstone?" Donatello repeats, confused. He cautiously approaches.
"You mean the one we found in the sewers when we were little?" Leo asks, getting up himself. (Y/n) suspected him being the plain one and the tall one, being the tall one obviously.
Mikey crosses his arm, with a proud expression on his face. "The one and only" He brags, smiling.
Now being surrounded by the four turtles, (Y/n) realises how much they have grown. When she first met them, they were a bit smaller. But now they were almost towering over her.
Suddenly she feels a tug at her head, making her head tilt back. She realises it was one with the purple bandana, just like when they were little. "Ow, it's not fur..."
Donnie's eyes widen at her words. "...it's hair" He finishes the sentence. "Yeah, alright. It's her" He admits, feeling the texture of her hair.
"Anyways, my name is (Y/n). It's nice to meet you all again" (Y/n) introduces herself, fiddling with her sleeves.
The turtle with blue bandana places his hand on his chest. "I'm Leonardo, the one pulling your hair right now is Donatello and the angry looking one is Raphael, you already seem pretty familiar with Mikey"
"What is going on here?" Everyone seem to freeze when they hear master Splinter's voice. They turn to see him, looking stern at them.
"Sensei, I–" Leo tries to explain, but his defenses seem to melt away when he sees his father's gaze. Him and Raph step aside to reveal (Y/n).
"I let you go to the surface and you being back a human?" Master Splinter says, infuriated by his sons' decision.
Before any of the turtles could speak, (Y/n) steps forward. "Please, don't get angry at them, sir. It's not their fault. I had accidentally fallen into a manhole and wandered my way here, they were trying to get me out". The four brothers look surprised at her, not expecting her to lie for them.
The humanoid rat looks down at her, stroking his thin beard. "I must admit, taking the blame for them is quite honorable. But falling into the sewers is something you usually don't do twice".
"Twice? Wait, you knew?" Leonardo asks him.
"I have keen sense of smell and hearing, also you are pretty loud" Master Splinter explains, looking at (Y/n) once again. "Do you promise to keep our existence a secret from the rest of the world".
(Y/n) nods, looking up at him with a determined expression on her face"I won't tell a soul".
Master Splinter smiles, knowing that he could trust the girl. "Then you are welcome to reside here when you see as needed"
"Oh yeah!" Mikey cheer, pumping his fist. The other three couldn't help, but also be happy she gets to stay.
Their first human friend, reunited with them once again.
Two Sides of Two Coins
This is part 6 of my fic A New Kind of Familiar. Tags and other chapters can be found here!
Ruby felt at home among all the chaos and people like himself. Red saw his awe and chuckled, patting his leg.
Cw for attempted suicide
Watching that portal close, Leo stood, wide eyed, for a few moments, staring at where his brother had just been. Mikey whimpered beside him, staring at the same spot.
“Raphy…?”
“Donnie, what did you do?” he questioned lowly. Fishface looked perplexed but he couldn’t find it in himself to even care about the villain right now.
“I-I— it was an accident! I told him to move! We all did! Mikey pressed the button, but he had ample enough time to get out of the way!” the genius defended, voice high and squeaky in a way that it hadn’t been in years. Mikey was shaking, and seemingly braced for something. The eldest shook his head.
“Get us home. You have to figure out this mess.”
This was his fault and he knew it, but he couldn’t let any of that show in front of his brothers, he had to force his breathing to stay even, keep his fists unclenched, voice unconcerned, shaking limbs stiff. This was his fault. He didn’t have the right to get upset about it.
Donnie breathed a stream of curses, pulling into the Shell Raiser’s parking spot, and he felt Leo’s icy stare fall on his back.
“I’ll get started on a portal device right now. Don’t expect me to be at dinner,” he murmured, turning off the vehicle and getting out.
He knew this was his fault, he didn’t need Leo to start saying it. He’d get their brother back no matter what it cost him. He just needed time…
He could work away the sudden ugly thing eating away at his chest, leaving a swirling black void in its wake. If Mikey came into his lab crying every so often, who could really blame him for snapping?
It wasn’t like he wanted to. His head pounded and his eyes burned with unshed tears and every time he did it, and it hurt somewhere in that black hole he called a heart. But he couldn’t help it.
He had to get their brother back.
Mikey wiped his tears as he watched Leo storm over to Donnie’s lab, deciding to chase after the eldest.
“Leo, just leave him alone, if you mess with him it’ll throw him off his game,” he tried. Leo rolled his eyes.
“He must already be off of his game. It’s been a fucking week.”
“Just—“
“Mikey, screw off— “
They both fell silent when they opened the lab doors to see the genius slumped over.
“See? He’s sleeping instead of working on getting Raph back!”
“I— Leo, we need sleep to function,” he said, slightly confused.
It was no matter, though, because his big brother was already making his way over to Donnie and shaking him. Mikey just left before they could start arguing.
And then, a few weeks later when Mikey walked into Donnie’s lab to try to get him to eat something like he did every few days, and the sound of shattering glass reverberated through the lair?
When Mikey stared, wide eyed, at the amount of red on the floor and saw his big brother unconscious in the middle of it all, and started sobbing? When he screamed for Leo, for his older brother, running over to Donnie and shaking all over, and the only thing Leo had to say as he fixed the genius up was how selfish their brother was being?
Well, Mikey simply had to tune the blue-banded turtle out and wipe his tears. Leo was like this before, too, but he thought the eldest was better now. He supposed Raph being gone changed things.
“I miss you, Raphie,” he whispered, sitting on the edge of the bed that Donnie was still unconscious in, the heart monitor beeping. Leo had left a while ago. “Please come back.”
——
Ruby had never been to a pride parade before, and honestly? What the fuck was he supposed to expect?
“Guys, get ready, we leave in 30!” Raph called, and Leo shoved Ruby into his new room.
“Hurry up and get dressed! We all have to convince Barry to go with us,” the slider hissed, before leaving.
Ruby shrugged after a moment, putting on a jacket he’d modified a few days ago; it had all his pins and a few patches on it, so it seemed perfect. By the time he made his way to the pit, Raph was hoisting him up onto his shoulders.
“Barry said yes, so we’re going to the Hidden City. Cmon, buddy.”
And holy shit, there was a city full of mutants (Raph said they preferred the term ‘yokai’, which was weird because yokai were evil) underneath New York. A rabbit joined them at some point and Leo stuck to the newcomer’s side like glue. There were so many sounds and sights and colors and…
Ruby felt at home among all the chaos and people like himself. Red saw his awe and chuckled, patting his leg.
“It’s a lot, isn’t it, buddy?”
“In a good way, yeah,” he breathed, simply marveling for a while.
Raph gave a fond laugh, letting Ruby down when he asked and allowing the turtle to run around after a while.
And that’s when he met him. A lizard yokai with silver scales, dustings of gold scattered all over their figure, and yellow eyes that seemed to pierce his very soul.
The definition of gender envy, in short. And Ruby hated getting gender envy because it emulated a crush very closely.
“Hi there, I like your jacket,” the stranger said with a smile, and Ruby found his cheeks heating up the longer he stared at that perfect smile.
He knew this was gender envy, though, because his mind was focused on comparisons. Even so, he stammered out a few incomprehensible words before he got himself together.
“Thanks. Uh, what— name—“ Great, he was embarrassing himself. “What’s your name?”
The other had an amused smile, tilting his head.
“Mateo. What about you?”
“I’m Ruby. I like your scales, the pattern is nice.”
“Thank you. You have a very pretty name.”
“Thanks.”
He smiled, a genuine one this time, and watched the other’s face soften. Maybe some good would come out of this whole situation after all.
“Ruby made a friend,” Mikey murmured beside him, pointing to where the terrapin was talking with a lizard. Donnie hummed.
“That’s nice,” he said, completely genuine.
“Speaking of friends, have you found yours? I know they said they’d meet us here, but you haven’t gone off yet.”
“Ah, they’re sick. I will be visiting them after to curse all people in a relationship because it is not me. Bitter solidarity until death.”
Mikey snorted.
“Just be home before curfew, Dee.”
“Okay, Raph.”
The box turtle jumped at him, wrapping around his midsection and sticking his tongue out. Donnie wrapped an arm around his younger brother to support him, rolling his eyes.
Leo had run off with Usagi a while ago. Raph was nowhere near, likely speaking with his yokai friend he’d picked up a while ago, a caiman with dark scales and blue patterned spots. April and Cassandra had run off somewhere to be menaces, Raph only yelling at them to keep destruction of property to a minimum.
The two were best friends and their own natural disaster if left unchecked. Casey Jr. had gone with them to supervise while Draxum took Splinter shopping in hopes of finding the rat a cloaking brooch. His father missed seeing his face in the mirror some days.
Mikey jumped off, smiling at the softshell.
“So, what do you think, Nattie?”
The purple-coded turtle smiled.
“It’s the best thing ever.”
 ...
 ..
 Gasp.
 Leo shot up as he took a strong breath and wheezed, feeling the pain strong all over his body. His legs were hurting, his shell was thumping, he still could feel the hold on his throat... but the worst of them was the one he felt on his plastron. The one that was so sudden and painful, and he was sure Krang Prime had taken out his heart or something. He was sure he had died.
 But now he was alive.
 And the world- no, Prison Dimension- was blurry and he barely could hear anything (not that there was much except Krang's growls).
 And yet, he almost could hear more over the sound of his fast beating heart. The coldness of the floor wasn't the rocks he felt every time he was thrown on, but something different. Familiar. Something was off here.
 He blinked, trying to calm down. Trying to ignore the memories that belonged to the moment right before he blacked out. The red light and the sound of the metal suit.
 Something touched him, and he immediately tried to get away. He tried to get on his feet, at least make enough force to be able to leap back or float away. Instead he felt gravity pull him down and he was met with the floor again, this time rougher and colder. …What?
 He blinked again, trying to focus. Whatever he was against, he couldn't escape if he was acting without the knowledge of his surroundings.
 The voices kept calling. There was something- no, someone in front of him. Then he noticed the green and red.
 Leo froze. He knew those colors. Comforting, safe... It couldn't be. There was no way. But... what if... Leo swallowed, "Raph?"
 His vision hadn't cleared fully, but he still could see the wide smile on his face. He said something (and Leo knew it was his name even though all he heard was muffled nonsense), and then pulled him into a tight hug.
 Less than in seconds, he was surrounded by many. Everyone hugged him, holding him. And he knew all of them. He recognized all of these colors and knew the warmth and... and...
 "Am I hallucinating?" He asked quietly. A muffled murmur answered. Leo didn't know what they said. He decided to ask another question, half joking, "Or am I in heaven?"
 As things got less and less blurry, Leo now could see the way they looked at him once he asked it. Their voices had gone quiet too. Just when they were becoming clear, all the muffled left itself to a faint ringing.
 Then he was met with Donnie, his hands holding Leo's face. "You're fucking alive, that's what you are." He said, and Leo saw the tears on his face.
 "You're home, Leo." Raph added. Leo noticed his hand was on his shoulder, holding him with care.
 He stared at them for a few seconds, trying to progress the words he just heard. Alive and home? Sounded too good to be true, but also... There was no gravity in the Prison Dimension. He wouldn't be able to imagine this warmness even if he wished to.
 He looked at them again. It was them, and they looked at him with the most hopeful, strong and yet vulnerable eyes. Just like how Raph had when he almost fell down from that building. Huh, that felt like irony. He had once again ended up falling and yet was saved by his loved ones.
 And they were here. They were okay, and with him. They held him. Safe.
 This was real. Leo looked at all of them- everyone in his family- one by one. His brothers, April, dad... Of course. Of course they had saved him. He believed they would after all, didn't he?
 Finally he responded, "Holy shit."
 "Holy shit?" Raph repeated with a laugh. "You got through all this and just say 'Holy shit'?"
 "Hey, I got caught unprepared and unconscious, you can't blame a guy for taking time to process he was saved while he was out of it!" Leo said back, and even though it sounded like he was complaining he was grinning and he could feel the tears forming. He was safe, he was with them!
 Suddenly there was quiet. A quiet that he didn't like. Something was wrong.
 "What, it wasn't you who saved me?" He took a guess. He didn't want to think of the possibility of anything worse happening.
 "Uh, Leo..." Raph began, but he failed to continue his sentence.
 "What?" Leo asked. He was getting impatient, and the grip of anxiety since he woke up wasn't helping.
 "You weren't... ya know... unconscious." Raph struggled, but managed to find the words.
 But Leo didn't understand. "What do you mean?" He questioned, getting more nervous. It didn't make any sense. “What was I then?”
 There was a moment of quiet, and Leo was about to ask again when Donnie spoke : “Dead.”
 “Donnie!”
 Everyone turned to him with various faces of glares and a 'Donnie, what the heck?'. But Leo didn't care about them. "Dead?" He repeated. "Didn't you just say I was alive? Are we really sure this is real?" He laughed nervously, because it started to feel like a fever dream.
 April sighed, "What he means is when we found you you were, well, dead. But Draxum found a way to bring you back." She explained. Then cringed, "Saying it out loud really doesn't make it any better."
 "Draxum?" Leo repeated, and he was doing this a lot lately, didn't he? But he couldn't help it when nothing made sense. "Bring me back? I'm sorry, I'm not following what you're saying." The grip tightened and he felt sick.
 "Maybe we should've taken this slower." Mikey interrupted.
 "And give him some space guys." April added turning around him. Leo was glad, because as much as he liked getting a hug from his family, right now everything started feeling a bit too much.
 “Leo, it's okay.” She talked to him in her gentlest tone he had ever heard. “Do you need some time and space?”
 He didn't answer, instead he asked again. "I... I died?" He was feeling stupid for asking what he has been told many times now but he still couldn't understand. He didn't understand anything. "Guys- what- this doesn't make any sense."
 And then there was the quiet again. He hated the quiet.
 Luckily, none other than his dad knew that better. "Blue, my son. We can explain everything in detail. Well, maybe Draxum could do that better than us," He glanced towards the yokai on the side of the room. Leo hadn't noticed he was watching them the whole time. Heck, he was just now noticing Casey Jr. was in the room (they were in his room!) and was avoiding eye contact. Splinter held his hand gently. "But this can happen later. Now you need to calm down and rest."
 Leo looked at him, his concerned eyes looking back at him. Then to the others. Okay. Okay he could figure out this later. As long as he wasn't in Prison Dimension it was okay. As long as he had his family with him it was okay. As long as they were okay, it was okay. He didn't have to worry himself with this, nor should worry anyone else. He nodded, "Yeah..." He said, then forced a smile. "Who cares as long as I'm back here anyways. Now tell me how in the name of the Pizza Supreme in the Sky you got me out of there, because what the heck!"
 "Now that's the spirit baby!" Mikey cheered.
 Leo opened his arms again, and his family once again were hugging him tightly. Leo looked at Casey Jr, who still was avoiding looking at him. "You too, Casey." Leo called. “Come on!”
 Casey blinked in surprise, then smiled genuinely and joined them. Leo shared that genuine smile as well as he let himself surrounded by the hugs of his family.
 “How does your bed not break?” Casey Jr. asked after a beat, clear that his curiosity won.
 “Genius Built.” Donnie answered proudly.
 “Oh no, here we go again.” Leo rolled his eyes. “I get out of Prison Dimension and immediately have to hear Donnie infodump.”
 “You cannot hide your amusement from your face, you little liar.” Donnie replied with a smirk. “Weak.”
 “Says the one who's been crying the whole time.” Leo retorded with his own smirk.
 “Cut it you two,” Raph huffed. Then he smiled albeit a bit evilly, “Everyone knows both of you are idiots.”
 “Gasp!”
 “Betrayal by my very own brother!”
 “Ah, there is the family I know.” April sighed happily.
 “You all are so weird.” Draxum commented, his frown not changing a bit. “But I guess it is good to see you being like yourselves again.”
 “Aww I knew you loved us!” Mikey exclaimed.
 “Tolerate would be the proper word.” He corrected.
 “He definitely loves us.” Mikey hummed.
 “Sure, Angelo.” Leo said sarcastically. But a part of him believed him, or at least the possibility of the yokai warming up to them. All of them. If what everyone told him was true and all… But who cared about any of that now.
 Yeah. It was fine as long as he was with them. As long as he was safe.
 “Oh, and by the way, since you wanted to know,” Mikey leaned towards Leo's face. As he pushed down Donnie with hands, he took all of Leo's viewpoint with his face right in front of him. “I opened a portal to the Prison Dimension.”
 “Huh?”
 He raised his hands, “With theseeee!”
 “You did what?!”
Was thinking about Mutagen Apocalypse and how Mona was, in early concept, supposed to be a apart of it and it got me thinking.
(I’m tossing out the baby allegations sorry folks)
What if the reason Mona hasn’t come back to earth was because of anther encroaching war with her people and a possible disfigurement accident?
Like. Ok, Raph goes on about how he’s nicknamed Y’Gythgba ‘Mona Lisa’ in reference to how beautiful she is, and what if that becomes her major flaw in a way? A concern after she faced a bad fight, a fight so bad that she’s lost and eye and missing a part of her upper jaw.
So she’d probably start over thinking things. She’s been promoted to Commander of her own fleet and now she has bigger responsibilities to uphold and in the dead of night when she can find sleep all she wishes for is to return to earth and run into Raphael’s arms and never leave again.
But that black twisting fear is at the forefront of her mind ‘I’ve been gone too long’ ‘he hasn’t sent me a com in forever—‘ ‘would he still love me as I am now after everything?’
The questions are eating away at her for so long that she breaks at one point and makes a visit to earth. She has a facial prosthetic on, you can’t even really tell she’s lost a part of her jaw save for the scar that runs up from it to her left eye, and sees that’s it’s nothing but a wasteland.
No green fields, busy Terran’s, or animals about. It’s deadly quiet.
Meeting the boys is another thing. So much time has passed since they last saw one another, from Don-bot, to ‘Maximus Kong’ Leo, Mikey and the holy Chalupa. And finally Raph, and his bad case of memory loss.
It’s like a sick gift in disguise. Mona doesn’t have to worry anymore in a way. But it’s should’ve have to be this way. I can’t end like this. Not this. Not Raphael staring at her with an unfamiliarity in his tired eyes.
So she’ll save face for now. Introduce herself as Y’Gythgba, a Salamandrain commander.
And nothing more.
Dawn of a New Day
(f!Leo x reader)
Next Part >>
Chapter I: The Dawn Arises
Everyone describes dying as one of two things a sense of tranquil peace or seeing a brilliant light at the end of the tunnel. As a teenager, Leonardo thought he was immortal. Life was simply a game to him where he was the protagonist and everyone else was inconsequential in comparison. He was the hero archetype, nothing bad could ever happen to him, he and his family had plot armor so they’d always be okay.
Then the apocalypse started throwing his entire life and worldview into a spiral.
But there was hope, a little fraction of light in the desolate world where death was unavoidable. There was a babe, a baby that was thrust into his arms to cherish and to care for. He remembers the day vividly, Cassandra had pushed the boy so hard into his hands that it caused the mutant to stumble backward. He barely heard the ‘take care of him for me Leon’ before she rushed into the building to save the innocents inside…Cass didn’t make it back that night and neither did those she had attempted to rescue. Leo had glanced down at the young boy in his arms, he was so small in comparison to his looming frame. So fragile, and when he stared into the baby’s eyes he saw himself truly for the first time in years and he let out a trembling breath. The baby smiled reaching up and pressing little hands against the yellow markings on his chin, unafraid and trusting of someone who didn’t deserve it.
Casey Junior was his purpose.
Then the Krang came for them, his dad and his brothers died and everything was all Leo’s fault. If he didn’t try to play the hero all those years ago none of them would be in this position, his brothers would be alive and Casey would be heading off to college by now.
Seeing his last and youngest brother die in the last-ditch effort to save humanity didn’t hurt as much as it should’ve. Leo knew it was coming, Mikey knew it was coming and both agreed that losing Raphael and Donatello seared a scar into their hearts so deep nothing could repair them. Perhaps it was because he was still young then and still believed himself to be a hero that could fix everything he caused so losing them broke him beyond repair. But now with Michelangelo’s sacrifice a new hero could emerge from the ashes and fix everything he couldn’t.
Casey.
“Find the key. Stop the Krang,” Those were the last words he spoke to his son before shoving him through the portal.
He heard the Krang before he saw them, there was a blinding light then he felt nothing. He was stuck in a black void where Leo floated feeling nothing but numbness, his eyes adjusted as little orange lights illuminated the space around him. The heavy metal that plagued his arm was gone leaving nothing but the stump behind, Leo breathed a sigh of relief, the burden of his dead brother lifting off his shoulders. He reached out with his one good hand letting the ball of light gently flutter against his skin, it was beautiful. Leonardo felt cold air brush against the skin on his face, looking up he was greeted by an orange portal, similar to the one his youngest brother had made just moments before for Casey.
“Mikey…?”
The lights tickled his cheeks all in one go and Leo let out a broken sob, the lights then disappeared before forming underneath his back urging him through the portal. Inside he could make out the streets of New York, prosperous and bustling, so unlike the scattered landscape, he left behind.
“No, no, just let me go with you.” His voice broke pleading with the spirit of his brother, “I just want to be with you all. Raph, Mike, Donnie. Please I’m so tired.” Leo’s eyes squeezed closed as the spirits moved him forward, so close that he could smell the air of the familiar city he once called home. One orange light brushed against his cheek softly before shoving him rather unceremoniously into the portal, Leo made a sound of distress looking over his shoulder only to see the outlines of his entire family. Purple, Red, and Orange all smiling tenderly at his retreating figure and Leo wanted to cry. He watched as a smile appeared on his twin brother’s face Donatello spun his bō staff once before flipping Leo off in a way that said, ‘see you soon.’ Leo found himself wetly laughing as they disappeared left to tumble into a forgotten alleyway in the middle of New York. He groaned as his sensitive shell hit the pavement the blinding light of the yellow sun stung his eyes, and clear air filled his dust-covered lungs for the first time in years. He sat up slowly clutching the spot his arm once was, desperately trying to remember the streets of New York, something he used to know like the back of his hand. He had to relearn everything, relearn where the lair was, relearn non-apocalyptic customs, and relearn how to function with only one arm. As Leonardo’s senses began to fully return to him he was able to pick up on the sound of footsteps rushing to the ally, they were light, most likely female his hand twitched at his side stopping his instincts screaming to grab hold of his katana.
She was young, younger than him by a few years at least, late twenties if that. Soft, healthy features, and a nice red in the apples of her cheeks. It startled him for he was mostly used to seeing the effects of starvation on the bodies of humans he’d come across.
God he hoped Casey was eating well. Shit, he needed to find Casey. Fuck he needed to know the year?!
“Is he alright?” He blinked looking down, only to see a young Yokai clutching tightly to her legs. He had horns peaking out of the top of his head. Messy red hair curled around his ears like a halo a little devil tail curling around the human's leg. His eyes were a blazing yellow, and Leonardo’s tongue felt heavy wondering if this frail-looking Yokai had made it in the apocalypse.
“What year is it?”
The woman spoke up, “2023.”
Leo’s entire body froze, three years after the apocalypse should’ve started. Casey did it, fuck he stopped The Krang. He felt the familiar sting of the beginning of tears in his eyes, Leo choked leaning back and seeing the woman appear in front of his vision up close and personal. Her brow was furrowed worry lines seeping into her youthful skin, “Are you alright?” The tenderness of her voice threw him for a loop he wasn’t prepared for. He swallowed,
“Fine.” He cleared his throat, trying to get the raw feeling out of his throat. “I’m fine darling don’t worry about me,” He gave a lazy grin trying to mask any weariness he was feeling but it seemed the woman wasn’t buying it. He heard her mutter something under her breath that he couldn’t quite catch, which caused Leo’s defenses to rise. He watched her every movement as her eyes took in his form, especially staring at his missing arm, Leo felt like she was analyzing him and he didn’t love the feeling.
“Do you have a place to go?” She asked suddenly brushing a strand of hair behind her ear, Leo automatically wanted to say yes, that his brothers were waiting for him, but until he could remember where exactly the lair was located he was stuck. He pressed his tongue to the back of his teeth shaking his head slightly, “Alright then.” A small smile spread across her lips, Leo couldn’t afford to think it was cute but the thought entered unwillingly. “Alastor go tell Nana to make up another room,”
Alastor, the demon Yokai, nodded turning from the ally to run back into the tall building to his left. She moved to help Leo onto his feet and he reluctantly leaned against her, “Can I ask your name?” He gave a sly grin.
“(Y/n),” She introduced, as Leo tested the name on his lips.
“You seem very calm for someone seeing a mutant turtle that’s over six feet tall,” Leo commented, he hoped the underlying suspicion in his voice wasn’t obvious.
“If you can’t already tell I kind of work with Yokai.” She snorted, “Plus turtles saved the city a little over a few years ago. Nothing is that shocking to me anymore.”
“You know them? The turtles?”
“I feel like I should be asking you that.” She shot back with a grin, he felt his cheeks heat up as he cleared his throat.
“I know ‘em a little bit…” Leo grumbled as she opened the front door for him, “Woah…” He breathed standing in the parlor of the complex. The inside reminded him only slightly of Big Mama’s hotel but it felt much more homely. Alastor ran back up to you and wrapped his arms around your legs,
“Nana said she’ll be right down, she’s fixing up the room.”
“Thanks, kid,” Leo answered with a nod of his head, the young boy's eyes lit up excitedly at the praise.
“You’re welcome!” He chirped happily before turning his attention back to you, “Can we continue to play now?”
“I gotta help Leo settle in with Nana.” she explained settling down on her knees with a smile, “why don’t you see if the other kids wanna play?” He huffed but nodded before once more scampering off.
“So, what should I expect with this ‘Nana’ lady?”
“She’s a Rabbit Yokai,” She hummed softly “And the owner of these apartments. She’ll explain more when you meet her,” (Y/n) looked at him with a twinkle in her eyes
“You talking ‘bout me sugar?” Leo’s eyes widened in surprise seeing the older yokai in front of him, “I’m assuming you’re the turtle Al was talking ‘bout?”
“Yes ma’am.” Leo nodded standing a little straighter and bowing in her direction, “Leonardo.”
“Oh enough about that,” She waved her hand dismissively her chubby cheeks stretching her smile out wider. Nana reached out and took his hand within her paws squeezing it slightly, her brown fur tickled his skin but the warmth of a parental-like touch made him wilt. “I’m Nana, you can stay here as long as you need. Come let's talk over tea, do you like tea?” Leo nodded he worriedly looked over his shoulder at you and she laughed. “(Y/n) will be there when you get back loverboy.”
Leo sputtered shaking his head rapidly in response, his love life is long since dead. He had a few flings here and there before the apocalypse and even some during, against his better judgment. He wasn’t picky when it came to lovers he just doesn’t know if he could ever emotionally handle a serious relationship again. He still doesn’t feel safe even if the apocalypse was avoided in the universe, he just needed to talk to Casey.
“I’m just teasing you.” Nana snickered a spring in her step as she motioned for Leonardo to sit down on a plush, pink chair in front of the table.
“What is this place?” He asked softly, watching carefully as Nana poured tea letting the leaves seep into the cup.
“A home for wayward Yokai.” Nana spoke carefully stirring her tea with a spoon slowly, “Mostly kids and single parents but anyone who needs a home is welcome here.” She hummed as Leo furrowed his brows, “since the Krang invasion-” Leo stilled eyes wide pupils shrinking slightly, if Nana noticed she didn’t comment, “Yokai and mutants alike have been integrated more into New York life.” She explained looking over at him with a knowing look, Leo eyed back sipping his tea slowly. “However not everyone is as accepting as (Y/n).” She let out a soft sigh, cheeks puffing out in frustration, “Many of us haven’t been accepted into society for one reason or another. Humans are…frustrating creatures, (Y/n) likes to give them the benefit of the doubt but I’m not so sure.” Nana spoke, “Having a human working here is a blessing and a curse in many aspects. The positive is it allows some Yokai who have been burned badly to realize that not every human is going to treat them unkindly. The kids are quick to trust and love her to death but the negative is there are some who are jaded beyond repair and tend to make her life here miserable. She puts a lot on herself like she’s blaming all of humanity's faults on her, putting it all on her own shoulders.” Nana rubbed her chin watching as Leo tilted his head to the side. Leo’s heart ached in a similar familiarity, it seemed he wasn’t the only one who felt like they carried the weight of the world on their shoulders. “Yet she stays, she wants to make a difference so I can’t fault her for that, are you done?” Leo paused looking down at his empty tea cup leaves stained the sides and he could finally see the little symbols in the bottom of the cup.
“You gonna give me a reading Nana?” He mused a charming smile appearing on his lips, she gave a little laugh,
“If you let me Leonardo Hamato.” He froze at the name almost dropping the cup in his hand, his jaw set suddenly, the air growing tense, “Come on now how stupid to you make this old lady.” She laughed with her entire chest, her ears bouncing as she did so. “I’d recognize that bandana anywhere. Your younger self sometimes visits with one of your brothers, I was a psychic in the Hidden City. Had my own business with my babies, humans don’t take too kindly to learning new knowledge or magic.”
“My brothers volunteer here? Which- it’s Mikey isn’t it.” He laughed wetly rubbing the top of his head,
“Makes the best lasagna in New York. Kids love him, and you, especially Alastor. I’m surprised he didn’t recognize you, then again you’ve grown fast.”
“I’m also verging forty.” He snorted, “and I look it.”
“Hardly we don’t age the same as humans.” Nana mused, “how old do you think I am?”
“I feel like this is a trap, Nana.”
“Sly dog you catch on fast.”
“What can I say? I’m known for my quick wit and my mouth.”
“Careful Leo there are kids around.”
He flustered, his entire face turning red, “That’s not what I meant and you know it!” Nana laughed softly reaching across the table to take the teacup from his hand. “If it’s bad I don’t wanna know FYI, I’ve had too much of that to last a lifetime.”
“Believe me I know.” She spoke without looking at him, her paws moving the cup around slowly with a hum. Her eyes lit up mischievously, and he raised a brow bone,
“Ough boy…”
“The tea cup reveals good fortune for you Leonardo. I see a lover, I see the letter- perhaps their name begins with it the love is new but not fleeting– it’s not far distant but perhaps more present than you’re prepared for. But there seem to be difficulties closing in upon you in the near future.” She frowned a little and Leo grumbled under his breath, “I see a rather large owl. An omen that something is coming on the horizon, a conflict between others or a conflict within yourself I can’t pinpoint. It’s clear you’ve come from a place where kindness and love were fleeting, a luxury you can’t afford. I see a star and a moon colliding, you will find someone who you can hold onto. You will find a family.” His throat felt tight before he cleared it,
“Well, I guess we’ll just have to play it by ear huh Nana?”
“Guess we will.” She stood up walking to her small kitchenette, she opened a drawer and grabbed a small bronze key. She placed it in Leo’s hands closing his fingers around it, “You have a home here. Always.” He looked down at the old key and froze, the tag on the key was engraved with his name on it in golden font. “The stars never lie, not to this old bunny.”
“Thanks, Nana I’ll keep that in mind.”
“If you need anything at all contact me or (Y/n). Our numbers will be given with your move-in packet. It’s in your room, should still be clean.”
“Thank you…for everything.” He squeezed his key tight letting out a shaky breath before swallowing thickly. “Can I have one question?”
“Of course.” Nana hummed, “you can have as many as you like.”
“Does (Y/n) know?”
“I haven’t told her. But she knows Leo, he’s close with her, it’s not going to take a genius to figure out you’re the same person.” Nana pointed out, “You aged like fine wine.”
“Nana please.” He said an exasperated flush on his face,
“You did!” She chirped pressing her fuzzy paws into his face, “let me get (Y/n) to walk you to your room would that be alright?”
“That’d be fine-”
“Just remember if you’re gonna date her you gotta ask my permission first.”
“Nana.” Leo yelped, “I’m not in the position-”
“Goodness are you always this easy to fluster? Guess I’ve never tried with the younger you.” She mused with a sly wink, and Leo just wanted to shrivel up and die on the spot. When did he get to the point in his life where an older woman would deem it okay to flirt with him? Ah. Right.
When he aged into his late thirties unknowingly during the apocalypse, that’s when.
Nana walked past Leo opening the door, “(Y/n)!” She shouted, “Show Leo to his room yes?”
“Yes, Nana!” She responded back quickly climbing up the steps, Leo frowned noticing a mark on her shoulders that wasn’t there when he met her earlier. “Follow me you’re on the same floor as I am. Roomies,” she chirped motioning for him to follow.
“You alright?” He asked grabbing onto her wrist with his hand, “Someone hurt you?”
“Huh? Oh?” He watched the woman fluster under his gaze, using her free hand to cover the mark against her skin. “Got into trouble with a fire Yokai no worries it’s all worked out,” He didn’t love the way you brushed off his concern so swiftly.
“Need me to kill ‘em for you?”
“What?” You let out a breathless laugh, eyes lighting up in mischievous delight, “If anyone’s gonna kill the guy it’s gonna be me you hear? He’ll get what’s coming to him don’t you worry.” You winked and a chill went down Leo’s spine his heart fluttering uncomfortably in his chest, “Come on it’s just this way.” You slipped out of his grip and continued down the corridor with a hum. He couldn’t help but eye the way your hips moved when you walked, and the way your ass curved tantalizingly in your tight jeans.
Shit, he should not be looking at her like that…but what she doesn’t know won’t kill her.
“Isso não vai acabar bem…” He mumbled into the sky saying a silent prayer to a god he didn’t believe in before continuing to follow your pace. “So…” He trailed off slowly, “What’re you living here for? You don’t have a family looking for you?”
“Nana’s my family.” You smiled up at him, and he realized how big he actually was in comparison to you. He basically towered over you, he was probably a little bigger than Raph was currently for comparison. “Plus, family isn’t just by blood. It’s who you chose to let into it,” He noticed you fiddle with a golden locket on your neck, “Like you n’ your brothers. It is you isn’t it Leonardo?”
“Ah…you caught me.”
“Weren’t exactly subtle.” You mused arms crossing over your chest, it took everything in his power not to stare at the way you unconsciously squeezed your chest together. God he hasn’t felt a pair in ages- ah you were still talking- shit pay attention Leonardo, “but something tells me you’re not the Leo I know. Am I right?”
“No…”
The words ‘I’m the one who failed’ was on the tip of his tongue but he swallowed them, now wasn’t the time to voice that thought.
Turn it off. Bury it down. Don’t think.
“No, I’ve fought and killed my way to be here. Lost so many things, not just the arm.” He mused motioning to the missing appendage, “Still can perform well without it trust me.” You raised an amused eyebrow as he flushed red, “Porro- not what I meant-”
“I know ‘Nardo.” You laughed, “God you’re such an old man.” He wilted a little at that giving you a dirty look, “Oh come on you are.” You nudged him lightly, “The older you are the more experience you have.”
“Now who’s the dirty-minded one.”
He took way too much pleasure in watching you turn red up to the tips of your ears. “Not funny!”
“It definitely is querida.” He shot back ruffling your hair, remaining mindful of the key that was still in his hand. If you knew what querida meant you didn’t mention it instead opting to shoo his hand away and fix the mess he made of your hair.
“Open the door dork, Nana’s been preparing for you for a while.” Leo blinked turning the key over a few times in his hand before sliding it into the lock. He turned it, a satisfying click echoed through the highway, and he opened the door. Inside was a king-sized bed with fuzzy cobalt sheets and about five pillows on the bed. Plus a small plush bee sat on one of the pillows in the middle he heard you let out a distressed sound from beside him. He raised a brow bone turning to face you and you were even redder than before, it was the cutest thing Leo has ever seen. “Fuck, ass, shit-” You sputtered hands flapping in front of yourself, not in the happy stimming Donnie way, but in a frantic Mikey way. “I told Nana you didn’t need a stuffed toy, god it’s so dumb, it’s for the kids usually to make things cozier.” He watched you fumble heart melting at your concern, “It’s a special one I was saving for this room- god this is so embarrassing!”
“Nah. Not embarrassing,” Leo reassured hanging the key up on the hook by the door. He placed his hand on your shoulder giving it a squeeze, “I love it you picked the bee out?”
“I did yeah…” She spoke quietly, shyly,
“Love it. It’s perfect, reminds me of how Raphael always slept with his toys from TBT.” He snickered beelining (hah good one Leo) to the bed to pick up the plush. It looked hand crocheted, it was light blue with dark blue strips and little purple wings. “Hm…this looks handmade-”
“Fine, I made it!” You squeaked in admittance, “For this room specifically Nana always said it was special. It’s the ugliest thing ever please just toss it!”
“Oh absolutely not. I’m gonna keep this forever now I know the truth. I’m naming him LJ, Leo junior.” He cooed wiggling it in front of your face as you covered your red cheeks shyly, Leo’s heart fluttered in delight.
“You won’t ever let me live this down will you?”
“Absolutely not.” He nodded in agreement, a sly grin appearing on his face, “What else is in here that you made for little old me huh?”
“Nothing just the bee,” She murmured softly walking to once more stand beside him, “Nana made sure you had your own bathroom and kitchenette if you needed it. We provide food for the young ones, but we found the adults usually like to make their own food.” Leo wasn’t about to tell you he can’t cook for shit without Mikey even at his age so he just nodded in response. “There are laundry units in the basement so you can wash your clothes and towels down there, we provided you with some clothes until you can get settled.” You began to list other amenities off with your fingers, Leo couldn’t help but zone out. Exhaustion hit him like a truck and it seemed you could read his body language well, probably tells from past him. “I’ll let you rest, you’ve had a long day.”
“I’ve had a long life kid.”
“I’m twenty-eight, hardly a kid.” You teased a light smile on your face,
Good GOD. He was going to hell.
“There are pajamas in the bottom drawer for you. If you need anything else let me know alright? Do you have a phone?”
“Er no…”
“We’ll make sure you get one, for now, here.” She handed him a small green button and held up her hand. On it was a silver bracelet with a dim green crystal in the center, Leo could sense the mystic energy intertwined within the gem. “If you press that it’ll alert me that you need something, and I’ll come running.” He nodded sleepily placing a hand on the top of your head,
“I will. Thank you, I haven’t slept in a bed like this in years.” He said more to himself than to you as he threw himself down on the bed, snuggling into the sheets. A rough, broken sound unwillingly spilled from his mouth he was too tired to process that the sound he made was his new version of a chur. A sound that he hasn’t made in years, one of warmth, safety, and comfort.
“You’re welcome. Sleep well, Leonardo.” He barely heard your well wishes as you flicked the light off and shut the door allowing the man to sleep comfortably for the first time in years.
Lin Lin Lin I DO THAT SEEING GREEN AND GOING "THIS REMINDS ME SANDRO!!" THING
I even named my golden turtle ring sandro (idk why or how it happened I saw it and was like "yeah thats sandro"). I realize this happens to do nothing with the subject I was talking about. Oh well- ANYWYAS I love that info maybe stealing that info if you're OK with very short fics of sandros
Also yeah!! Portal Jacked!! And ooh I forgot about mind meld talk :0 hehehe it was a joy to read. Now. *looks at you with the biggest eyes ever* Ash info please?????? Anything about him????? Rant us about ash????
ASH HAS A BAD MEMORY BECAUSE OF THE KRAANG
I dont know if anybody has looked at his toyhouse page or read his story there, but immediately upon "joining" their side, his concept of time was FUCKED, that was all this asshole's doing *points at Krang Prime*
I mean. It's a little TOO easy to fuck with someone's mind when they're asleep, especially when they're a hard sleeper like Ash is.
He eventually began to lose memories too, really important things that reminded him why he loved his family / the good times he's had with them. It fucked with him so bad (and he wasn't even AWARE of it) that it damaged his control on his ninpo.
Sandro's ninpo, in ANY au, has always been controlled by Unfiltered love and trust for his family. It's why OG!Sandro unlocked his ninpo in season 1 like how Raph did; he already loves and trusts his family with everything. Blindly.
It's also why Carefree!Sand can't unlock his ninpo. He loves his family, but he doesn't trust them with things he should, like his core personality or his fears and deep longing. He's obsessed with being the perfect big brother for them and to help Raph feel less stress; so much so that he curated a facade of always-calm and never-bothered.
And Ash? Ash's trust and love in his family is being unthreaded over many years of being with the Krang and his ninpo won't work anymore. His memories he clung to when he was stressed or feeling hopeless are gone, he can't fuckin' remember why he used to trust Mikey with his feelings or why he was fond of Donnie's narrations.
But he does remember Mikey being angry at him when he broke his skateboard, or the times Donnie continued to kick him out of his lab. He remembers Leo telling him that they'd love if he stayed behind at camp to protect the survivors instead of going out to save more. He remembers being angry and hurt.
And his ninpo began to react to that shit !!! His ninpo used to look normal, pretty green shimmers and light and hopeful, and it was turning toxic and black. That's why I draw his ninpo differently!!
Ash's ninpo is a direct consequence of all the things that were messed with in his head. Krang's influence is in his mind, which is also why in moments of extreme anger that seem (and ARE) super out-of-character for him, I draw his eyes like THAT
Reunited in the Afterlife
Summary: Set in the Kraang Apocalypse timeline. Each of the turtles & April reunite with their family after dying in battle.
Author’s Note: Hey! Sorry that this took so long to update. This chapter is my longest one yet. I wanted to put in extra effort because a) there are now more dead characters that they need to reunite with and b) Future Leo and Mikey’s deaths are the ones we have the most information about in canon. I think you guys will like it. Enjoy!
Part 4: Mikey and Leo
(Part 1: Raph, Part 2: Donnie, Part 3: April)
“Do me a favor. When you’re done saving the world, grab a slice!” Leo tossed Casey into the portal that Mikey, his baby brother, had given his life to open. Casey reached out to him as he flew backward and the turtle tried to ignore the pain in his heart. He didn’t want to lose Casey too but this was their only chance for a better world.
 Just as he let go of his student, two Kraangified dogs lunged at him, murder in their eyes. But he had been surviving the apocalypse for 24 years. Leo gave Casey one last reassuring smile before he whipped out his sword and deflected the dog’s attack. He ran a few steps away from the portal, hoping to lead the dogs away from the last surviving member of his family, when a blinding red light surrounded him. Then his vision went black.
 Leo opened his eyes. The first thing he saw was a tall gate glowing jade green several meters away from him. Wait, what? The turtle rubbed the back of his head. He was confused. Looks like he wasn’t in New York anymore. “Where am I?” Leo whispered to himself.
 “LEO!!!” a voice exclaimed. The slider’s heart skipped a beat. He lowered his eyes from the glowing gate to see none other than the glowing figure of Michelangelo Hamato racing towards him.
 Leo let out a laugh, his heart warming. “Mikey!” he cried as his little brother launched himself at him. Mikey tackled him in a hug, just like he used to do when they were teens, his cloak becoming tangled in the process. It didn’t matter that Leo had just seen him a few minutes ago, the last time he saw Mikey he was exploding into thousands of light particles. He was allowed to be concerned.
Did Casey make it through?” Leo nodded into his shoulder. “Good,” Mikey replied. “It’s alright Leo, I’m here.” The smile was evident in his voice. Leo let out a happy sigh before he pulled back to get a better look at his brother.
 “Thanks, Mikey. Just promise you won’t go supernova on me again, ‘kay?” he said in a half-teasing tone. His brother let out a giggle and nodded. Leo responded with a grin and then proceeded to ruffle Mikey’s sideburns.
 “Ah! Hey! Leo!” Mikey laughed while swatting his hand away. The older turtle let out a chuckle. “Hey, what is this place anyway?” Leo asked.
 Mikey’s laughter died down and he became quiet. “You see that gate over there?” he asked, pointing to the glowing green one Leo saw when he first arrived. Leo nodded. Mikey took a breath. “On the other side is the afterlife, where the souls of the dead live.”
 Leo’s eyes widened. “The afterlife…” he whispered. “So that’s what that red light was! I took a direct hit from the beam on Kraang Prime’s armor.”
 “Not gonna lie, that’s a pretty cool way to die,” Mikey said.
 “So if all the souls of the dead are beyond that gate,” Leo said, his tone becoming solemn. “Does that mean that…they are in there?” He didn’t need to use their names. Mikey knew who he was talking about.
 His brother nodded, getting the hint. “I wanted to wait for you before going in. It wouldn’t be a family reunion without all of us there. You ready?”
 Leo hesitated. He’s never been good at facing his emotions head-on. That’s why he used humor to cope. It was so much easier to deflect and pretend that everything was fine than to allow himself to be vulnerable. He was a lot like Donnie that way.
 Donnie… Leo softened at the thought of his twin. His twin who gave his life to save so many others. His twin whose presence never died even after he was gone thanks to his machines. Could he really be about to see him again? And Raph too? Leo still had nightmares about the day he died. The idea of seeing him again…it seemed too impossible to hope.
 Yet here he stood, a soul about to enter the afterlife. And all he had to do was walk through those gates to see his family again. His brothers, his dad, Draxum, Cassandra, and Gram-gram. Leo took a deep breath and faced Mikey, a brave smile on his face. “I’m ready,” he said.
 Mikey smiled and took Leo’s hand. The two brothers walked toward the entrance to the afterlife together. There was an old man standing beside the gates whose eyes widened upon seeing them. “Resistance Leaders Michelangelo and Leonardo!” he exclaimed, standing up straighter. Leo, who was very used to this kind of treatment, gave the man a smile and nod in return. Mikey smiled and gave him a wave of his hand. “Hello!” he said, probably making the old man’s day.
 The gatekeeper then opened the glowing gates and gave them a respectful bow. “Welcome to the afterlife,” he said. “Thank you,” Leo said softly.
 Mikey bent down to ask the man a question. “By the way, have you seen an April O’Neil pass through here?” the box turtle asked. The old man nodded his head. “She arrived just fifteen minutes ago.” The two brothers exchanged a look. April was here with them. That meant their entire family would be together for the first time in almost seventeen years. Minus Casey Jr. who was hopefully trying to stop Leo’s 16-year-old self from making the biggest mistake of his life.
 Mikey turned back around to the old man. “Thank you for telling us,” he said. Then he nudged Leo’s arm and gave him a soft smile. “Come on Leo. Let’s go see our family again.” The red-eared slider grinned back. The two turtles walked through the gates.
 They had barely made it a few steps in when they found all the ghosts collected near the gate staring at them. “Umm…hi?” Mikey said awkwardly. Immediately, all the souls started panicking and screaming questions. Leo winced at the noise. He should have expected this. He and Mikey were the last remaining leaders of the resistance so the fact that they were dead was not a good sign.
 “HEY! GIVE THEM SOME SPACE!” a strong female voice rang out. At the sound of it, the crowd quieted down and slowly started to disperse. Leo glanced at Mikey. They appeared to be thinking the same thing. There was only one person who that voice could belong to: April.
 Their suspicions were confirmed when Commander O’Neil appeared through what was left of the crowd. “And April O’Neil saves your butts once again,” the Commander said with a smirk.
 “April!” Mikey cried before tackling her in a hug that probably would have killed her if she weren’t already dead. “Woah!” she laughed, stumbling backward a bit. Leo chuckled. Then he waltzed up behind them and wrapped his arms, one small and fleshy, the other large and robotic, around the pair and spun them around. April and Mikey laughed and shrieked in protest, which only fueled him more.
 After a few more spins, he set them down. “How did you even get here?” Leo asked. “We thought you were still alive until the dude at the gates told us otherwise.”
 “I was struck in the back with a laser beam,” April said, gesturing towards her back. “But unlike with you, it didn’t vaporize my body. You actually ran right past my corpse earlier. But you were busy bleeding out so I forgive you.”
 “Oh,” Leo said. “Wait, how did you know that I got hit with a laser too?”
 “Anatawa Hitorijanai,” April quoted. “Spirits of the dead can look after their loved ones on earth and when I died a few minutes ago, I gained that ability too.”
 “Like Gram-gram?!” Mikey exclaimed with stars in his eyes. Just like how he did as a teen before the Kraang invasion, Leo noted. “And Splinter’s mom?!”
 April grinned. “Yeah, just like them,” she said before turning to face Leo. “I heard you got stabbed and we decided you needed all the help you could get. Even from beyond the grave.”
 “So you were haunting us,” Leo said with a smirk. Mikey let out a snort.
 April’s features fell into an annoyed expression. “That’s not exactly the word I would use,” she said.
 “Stalking? Spying?” Leo teased, his grin becoming wider. Mikey was desperately trying to conceal his laughter.
 April rolled her eyes and sighed. “You’re hopeless. Both of you.”
 Leo chuckled. “But seriously now,” he said. “Thanks for watching over us. Even though we ended up dying only like 15 minutes after you, thanks for making the effort.”
 April smiled warmly. “No problem,” she said. “Now if you’ll excuse me,” she continued, her smile becoming mysterious and secretive. “There are two people who have been waiting very patiently to talk to you again.” She stepped aside to reveal…their brothers. Raph and Donnie stood there, their souls glowing red and purple wearing soft smiles on their faces. Mikey gasped and Leo dropped his sword in shock, making it clatter on the ground. The sound echoed in the sudden silence.
 “Took you guys long enough,” Donnie said with a smirk, the sound of his voice making Leo’s heart ache. It was him, it was really him. Not a hologram projection, or Omega, or a recording of his voice, but the real Donnie. His twin. Leo had to fight back his tears. Mikey, who was standing beside him, already had tears streaming down his face.
 “It’s about time the Mad Dogs had a reunion,” Raph said with a grin. And he thought hearing Donnie’s voice again was a shock. Leo forced himself to look directly at his older brother. His older brother who still looked exactly the same as he did 13 years ago. His older brother who had been his best friend during his teenage years and his closest confidant during the first 11 years of the apocalypse. His older brother, whose scolding always, always came from a place of love. His older brother, who sacrificed himself to save Leo’s life. Against his will, tears started streaming down Leo’s cheeks. Then a smile started to form on his face, the joy of seeing his brothers again overpowering all the years of loss and sadness the apocalypse brought.
 “Raph! Donald!” Mikey cried happily, big, fat tears of joy streaking down his face. He charged at them as fast as he could. Leo let out a chuckle, a smile spreading across his face, and followed suit, running towards his brothers and Raph’s open arms. The Kraang had tried to beat him down for 24 years. They took away his home, his friends, his family, and now his life. But he would not let them take away his spirit. If he lost that, then the Kraang won. And he was not going to let that happen. He had wasted enough time on tears and he wasn’t going to give any more of them to the Kraang. Leo crashed into his brothers, all of them laughing as they had their first group hug in over 13 years.
 Leo closed his eyes, wishing to preserve this moment forever. How he missed the feeling of Raph’s spiky arms engulfing all three of them, Mikey’s much tinier arms struggling to reach all the way around, and Donnie’s comforting weight leaning against him, his twin’s arms pinned to his sides. It’s them. It’s really them. I’m with my brothers again, Leo thought. He started to cry again. Not from grief this time, but from relief and joy. Raph’s grip tightened as he picked all of them up and spun them around. Mikey’s happy shriek pierced Leo’s ears as well as Donnie’s startled yells. The slider didn’t mind one bit the damage being done to his eardrums. He was just happy to be with his family again.
 Raph set the three of them back down but no one wanted the hug to end. “Can we stay like this a bit longer?” Mikey whispered, effectively breaking his older brother’s hearts. Leo raised his head and exchanged a look with Raph. They both smiled softly, remembering how innocent and optimistic Mikey was before the Kraang invasion shoved the cruelties of the world right into his face. “Of course, Michael,” Donnie said, freeing his pinned arms to wrap them around their youngest brother. Their group hug tightened once more. Leo sighed. Maybe it was okay for Leo to let himself be vulnerable.
 “Hey April! Get in here!” Raph yelled. Still standing off to the side, April raised her eyebrows in surprise. Then she broke into a giant grin, her eyes crinkling at the corners. She laughed and ran right at the boys, joining their group hug. Immediately, four pairs of arms wrapped around her. Now we’re complete, Leo thought with a smile.
 After what seemed like an eternity, the four brothers and April finally pulled apart, big smiles on all of their faces. Leo chuckled, wiping the last tears from his eyes. “I missed you guys so much,” he said, smiling brighter than he has in years.
 Donnie nudged Leo’s side affectionately and smiled. “We missed you too, Nardo. As fun as it was haunting you-” April groaned, cutting him off. “Not you too, Dee,” she whined. Donnie smirked and continued without missing a beat. “It just, dramatic sigh, wasn’t the same. I longed for our bi-weekly trash talk sessions. It’s good to have you here, Leo.”
 “Gee, if you wanted me dead, you could have just said so,” Leo joked, matching Donnie’s smirk. “But I missed talking to you too. The real you. Not Omega or one of your inventions.” That statement earned a soft smile from Donnie. Sure, it was mostly aimed at the floor because Donnie was emotionally constipated, but Leo understood how much that one action meant.
 “Hey, what about me?” Mikey teased. Donnie smiled genuinely and flung his arm around Michael. “Of course I missed you too, dear Angelo. Whatever would I do without my favorite partner in crime? But it seems I have taught you well. You were certainly a force to be reckoned with earlier. You had impeccable timing too.”
 Mikey grinned. “Thanks, Donald,” he said. “Just imagine if you were there. Your guns and my chains would have been an unstoppable team!”
 “I concur,” Donnie said ruffling Mikey’s hair. “Hey!” the box turtle exclaimed. “Leave my sideburns alone!”
 “Very well Master Yoda.”
 “WHY YOU!”
 While Mikey and Donnie were bickering playfully, Raph nudged Leo’s side. “Hey, I’m proud of you little bro,” his older brother said gently. Leo’s eyes widened. “Wait, really?” he asked. Leo used to feel that the whole Kraang invasion was his fault since he was the one who made Raph drop the key. He now understood that it was the Foot Clan’s fault for deciding to use it, but the feeling still lingered a bit.
 Raph smiled and nodded. “Of course,” he said. “I saw how you led the resistance for the past decade. You rose up to every challenge that came your way and gave the resistance hope to keep going. You led raids and rescue missions and you saved so many lives.”
 But I couldn’t save the ones that mattered, Leo thought to himself, his heart a bit heavy. Raph seemed to have read his mind because he said, “Hey, don’t blame yourself.” His tone was serious and stern. “I made my decision and I would do it again in a heartbeat if it meant saving your life. Besides, you have no control who lives, who dies, who tells your story.”
 “Did you just quote Hamilton to make me feel better?”
 “Yes, absolutely. Did it work?” Raph asked with such an adorable grin on his face, Leo couldn’t help but laugh. “Yeah, it did. Thanks.”
 Raph grinned. “No problem,”he said. “But my point is, you were an amazing leader and we are all so proud of you. Without you, I don’t think we would’ve been able to hold off the Kraang for as long as we did. And I want you to know it.”
 Leo sniffed and wiped a single tear from his eye. “Thanks, Raph,” he murmured. His big brother wrapped his arms around him and pulled him into a hug. “Anytime, he said. “By the way, I love what you did with your prosthetic. And your sword too.” It’s safe to say that Leo had to use every single ounce of his willpower not to break down crying right then and there. But before a single tear could escape from his eye, the sound of someone yelling echoed through the clearing, interrupting the moment.
 “I DON’T CARE IF YOU TWO ARE DEAD, I’M GOING TO MURDER YOU!!!”
 Leo’s eyes widened as he pulled away from the hug. He and Mikey exchanged a look. If that voice was who they thought it was, they were so dead. Pun intended. The brothers turned to April. “Is it just me or was that…?” Leo asked, trailing off.
 April nodded, an evil smile growing on her face. “That,” she said mischievously. “Would be Cassandra. I’d run if I were you. She is pissed.” Leo swore under his breath. He was heartbroken when Cass died, leaving behind her young son, and he was dying to see her again, but If she was made, whoo boy he was done for.
 At that, the one and only Cassandra Jones stormed in looking, as April had said, very pissed. “Okay,” she started. “While I understand why you did it, WHAT ON EARTH! MADE YOU THINK! THAT IT WAS A GOOD IDEA TO RANDOMLY TOSS MY BOY INTO A TIME PORTAL WITH NO EXPLANATION?! At least you had a sound enough mind to give him clear instructions. But still, aside from our stories, the kid knows nothing about how life was before the apocalypse. He’s probably going to attack the first person he sees.”
 Leo opened and closed his mouth, biting back a remark of like mother, like son as well as any sentimental goop one might say after seeing their dead friend after you helped raise their son. Thankfully, Mikey saved his sorry butt from any potential embarrassment. “Cass?” he gasped softly. Casey’s pissed demeanor melted away like butter and was replaced with a warm smile. Leo smirked. Cass has always had a soft spot for Mikey. But the wholesome atmosphere melted away the second Cass opened her mouth again.
 “Hey, Grandpa Mikey,” she teased, her grin big and mischievous.
 “OH FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!!”
 “Dr. Delicate Touch had entered the chat,” Donnie muttered as he walked up behind Leo. Leo snorted as Raph burst into a fit of giggles. He missed joking around with his brothers like this.
 After Casey had finally calmed down from her fit of giggles, she turned to Leo. “But seriously, thank you for taking care of my little stinkbug after I kicked the bucket. You really kept to your promise.” The blue turtle smiled warmly when she said that. “It was my pleasure. That kid is too good for this world.” Cassandra nodded in agreement.
 “Oh and by the way, your dads are here,” Cass added. Leo and Mikey whipped their heads around to see Splinter running towards them as fast as he could with Draxum at his heels. “Pops?” Leo whispered just as Mikey yelled “DAD! BARRY!” Mikey started to sprint towards them as well. Leo’s shocked expression melted into a smile. He chuckled then turned to look at his other two brothers and April. “Come on!” Leo said to them before turning around and following after Mikey. He could hear Raph, Donnie, and April’s footsteps behind him as he ran towards his parents.
 Leo overtook Mikey and scooped hi dad up into his arms. Splinter let out a big hearty laugh that reminded Leo of when he was younger. He felt three shapes crash into them, Mikey, April and Donnie, before two giant pairs of arms wrapped around them, Raph and Draxum. “Oh, my boys,” their dad muttered, his voice warm and loving. Leos cheeks started to hurt from all the smiling he was doing. He was with his family again. “I missed you so much, Dad,” Leo said. “I did too,” Mikey added. As they were hugging, Leo and Mikey began to change color. Their souls that were once the default jade green color began to change into bright orange and blue. But no one noticed at the time. They were all too invested in the hug.
After several loving minutes they all pulled apart, grinning faces all around. “Hey, we got our colors back!” Mikey exclaimed, admiring his outstretched arms, now glowing orange instead of green. Leo nodded in response, blue always suited him better. Plus, now he was matching with his brothers again.
 Leo then heard the sharp sound of someone clearing their throat. He turned around to see that it came from Draxum who was looking at him pointedly. “Good to see you Leonardo,” Draxum said with a pinch of passive aggression. Leo realized he hadn’t greeted the alchemist yet The slider gave Draxum a mischievous grin. “Good to see you too, Goat man. How did you get up here anyways? Last I checked, you were still kicking Kraang butt with your mystic vines.”
 Barry rolled his eyes in amusement at the nickname. “I passed away several minutes after O’Neil. I believe I was hit with a laser.”
 “Wow, everyone’s getting murdered by lasers,” April commented. Everyone laughed at that. “I know right!” Leo replied, putting his weight on one leg. “At least that means we’re all together again,” Mikey said sweetly. “Yeah,” Raph replied, ruffling the box turtle’s hair fondly.
 “Really? All of you? Aren’t you forgetting someone?,” a familiar female voice teased. Leo’s head snapped up at the voice. He and Mikey turned to see Karai standing several feet away with a sweet smile on her face. “GRAM-GRAM!!!” the two of them exclaimed in unison.
 Karai laughed. “It’s good to see you boys too,” she said. “Come on. We will all show you around.” Karai reached out her hand. Leo hesitated. Then he felt a hand on his shoulder. “You heard her,” Raph said with a grin, looking down at him. “Let’s show you guys around.” Raph took Leo’s hand and lead him towards Karai just as Donnie grabbed Mikey’s hand and did the same. Leo took Gram-gram’s outstretched arm, then Mikey took her other one. All nine of them, Raph, Leo, Mikey, Donnie, April, Splinter, Draxum, Cassandra, and Karai, joined hands in one big line. Leo closed his eyes, feeling more complete than he had in years. Then Gram-gram started to move forward, bringing all of them with her.
 “Welcome to the Afterlife,” she said
Luck Runs Out Part 15 END
Yui<3: Leo
Yui <3: Hey Leoooo? You haven't been answering ? Is everything alright?
Yui<3 : I'm coming over okay?
Yuichi lifted the manhole cover and descended into the sewers, he heard a bit of commotion coming from their living room or whatever was closest to that- When he pulled the fabric curtain back he was a bit surprised to see Leo and his brothers arguing, they didn't fight that often so there had to be a good reason for this right?
"Leo I'm serious- You can't just avoid it cause you don't like it, I should know-"
"I can and will! I don't need it!!"
"That's bullshit and you know it Nardo! Sooner or later you have to start acting like the leader and-"
"And what? Get my brothers arm torn off?" Raph cautiously stepped closer to Leo, "Woah- Leo hey, you don't mean that.." Leo scoffed and rolled his eyes, "Oh like you were any better? What exactly have you done to act so high and mighty over me? Hide yourself for years? Lie to your brothers?"
"Leo.. Don't."
"No really I wanna know? Why does he get to act like he knows so much better than us? You think you're the only one who remembers what happened? Think you're saving us by hiding it? Well for-fucking-give me for being upset that you're always lying to me!! All of you! Even Mikey! You do realize he smokes right? Has no one else seen him sneaking out in the middle of the night or carrying body spray with him everywhere like he's trying to cover up the smell of smoke? He's what? eighteen now, nineteen? And you all still treat him like he's fifteen!" They turned to Mikey for a short moment before looking back at Leo, they could tackle that problem later. "Leo.." Raph paused again seeing Yuichi in the doorway, "We.. We can talk about this later, after you get some rest-" He reached out to Leo aiming to put his hand on the sliders shoulder. but as soon as the word 'rest' was said Leo's eyes went wide in a panic, "NO!" He smacked Raph's hand away, Mikey sunk into his shell while Donne took a step in front of his little brother, Leo's marking were starting to glow, "I don't need sleep and I sure as hell don't need you to pity me!" Raph quickly retracted his hand, glancing back to Yuichi, who got the hint and stepped in. "Leo..?" There was a moment of silence, "Anata.. Genki desuka?" Leo turned slowly to look at Yuichi, his glow flickering when he heard Yuichi's soft voice. But when his eyes landed on his boyfriend all he could see was a mangled version of his body, eyes and mouth pouring black blood and red stained fur still matted with a mix of it and dirt. His eyes widened as he glowed brighter, "S-Stay back- ..You're not real- You're just.. My mind playing tricks on me- I-It's just a hallucination.. I just.. I just need another energy drink-"
"Leo, wait- Hold on okay? I-I won't try to make you sleep, I just.. I wanna talk…" Leo took a step back as Yuichi stepped closer, shaking his head a little, "No- no no no.. It's not real he's not really there it- It's just.. Just another nightmare…It's just a nightmare-" There was a spark around him, a faint blue light surrounding his body, Yuichi hesitated but stepped closer again, "It's alright.. Take a breath, you're okay…" Leo just shook his head, closing his eyes tightly, "No- no it- Its just fake it's all fake.. Don't listen to them- They're not real… They're not.." The light was getting brighter around Leo and he held his head in his good hand. Leos shell hit the wall as Yuichi closed in, his hand slowly reaching out for Leo. The light pulsed as Leo shut his eyes tighter, "N.. NO!" The light cracked and roars, extending outwards as he shouted. Yuichi quickly pulled his hand back feeling a stinging pain across it's surface, blood rose and bled into the fur of his trembling hand, he saw multiple thin cuts covering and spanning from his finger tips down to his wrist. Leo got half a glimpse at Yuichi before pushing past him and rushing out of the lair, "Leo- Leo wait!" He called, but he was already gone. He looked to the brothers, not having any clue as to what started this or why it had gotten that bad. "Leo's.. Been avoiding sleep…" Mikey said after the slider was out of the room, clinging to Donnie's arm as he spoke, eyes glued to the floor. Raph nodded, "Yeah.. Something about nightmares? I think that's what he said?" Mikey just nodded. Donnie let out a little sigh, "It's.. Possible that from stress the visions were getting worse, and sleeping was like a one way ticket to those visions except he unable to ground himself while sleeping.. So avoiding sleep might've sounded like a good option to avoid those kinda of visions, but, the body can't go without sleep for more than a few days. The out bursts.. The hallucinations… It makes much more sense now."
"Wait.. Nightmares?" They perked up a little hearing Yuichi, connecting dots to something. "Yes, he'd told all of us in passing that he was having trouble sleeping, why..?" Yuichi hesitated for a moment, trying to recall anything that might be important. "He had one, a-a bad one.. A few nights ago, it.. It was like four or five days ago? I think? He saw something pretty messed up and couldn't go back to sleep that night. I left the next morning for work and.. He'd been avoiding me more and more since, do you think that could have sparked it?"
"It had to- I can't think of anything else that happened recently to make him go off like that-" Yuichi nodded a little, pulling his phone out, "I'm gonna go after him, he didn't have his swords so he couldn't have gone far.. And when he's back we'll see what we can do to help.." He headed off after Leo, calling his phone hoping if he didn't pick up that he could at least hear the ringing and follow that. He heard it in the distance and followed the sound, really hoping that he would be okay. "Leo- Are you down here? It's alright, I-I know whatever you're seeing.. It must be scary and maybe it feels like it's too much, but you aren't alone. I'm not going to leave you, o-or let you deal with this by yourself!" He followed the faint ringing further into the sewers, texting the brothers to let them know it might be a bit before they came back, but that he wouldn't come back without Leo. Donnie texted back saying he was bringing Draxxum over to help make something for Leo, which as far as he knew from the small handful of times he'd met him, it sounded like he'd be in good hands. There was the faint sound of Leos phone ringing, the song was "Eat U Alive" by Marian Hill. The bass softly echoing down the dark winding sewer tunnels, the music fading faster the more he ran around looking for Leo. He cursed under his breath and started walking a bit faster, almost at a jogging pace now. "Leo? Leo hey-! Where'd you go?" He felt his heart start beating faster as he kept calling, he'd hear the ring for a brief moment before it would be declined. "Gods- Why are you being so stubborn- Just- ..Let me help you damnit-" Then suddenly his phone was the one ringing.. Not scary at all- He totally didn't flinch from his ringtone for Leo, "California Gurls" by Katy Perry going off out of nowhere- He juggled the phone for a moment before answering, "Leo?? Where-"
"Stop trying to find me. Stop- I can't I can't do this- You have to leave." Yuichi could feel his heart starting to sink, "What.. Does that mean?" He turned around hearing a little shuffle behind him then around again when the noise could be heard down the hall. "I can't look at you- I can't- I just.. Keep seeing his body, the blood, the moment he stopped breathing in my arms I just… I can't- You have to leave- You have to go far away, a-and never come back never ever-"
"Then- Then close your eyes, or I'll hide while you head back! You can go back to your place and I won't follow, just… Stay on the phone, I promise you don't have to see me till we get this all sorted out but-"
"You don't get it- I can't look at you anymore without seeing it.. Seeing him.. I can't get close to you when you look at me- I can't stop seeing it- I can't I just can't anymore I won't- We.. We can't work like this…"
"Leo- I.. I know what you're gonna say, and I won't let you say it, you just.. You haven't been sleeping, you're not in the right mindset. I know you're scared, and I know you don't want to have to see and hear those terrible things, I understand.. But you can't just avoid it forever, you can't keep running.. Please- Just.. Come home. Or.. Face me so I can at least hear you say it to my face. I won't leave till I hear it from you if you're serious about this… Please.." There was a long pause before Yuichi heard a shuffling behind him again, but Leo spoke before he could turn around. "Don't. Don't move.. Please- I can't see his face again.." Yuichi hesitated, but let out a little sigh and nodded after hearing how timid Leos voice was, putting his phone away he made a show of his hands being empty. "Okay. I won't move, promise." Leo stepped closer and wrapped his arms around Yuichi's waist, Leos head resting on his back, they stood there for a few moments, it almost felt like Leo was listening to Yuichi's breathing, or his heartbeat maybe? Yuichi felt something wet on his shirt, he glanced down trying not to move too much but his eyes widened in horror as he saw Leos arms covered in blood, it was barely lit in the sewer tunnels but it looked like he had scratched his arms open in several spots, bites and claw marks digging into already scarred skin.. Was it from anxiety? Some kind of vision where he thought he was fighting something? His mind was racing as he tried to answer the hundreds of questions filling his head that he just didn't have the answers to.
"I can't- I can't keep doing this.." Leo spoke quietly, pulling Yuichi from his thoughts. His voice was on the verge of breaking into nothing, tears threatening his eyes with each word. "I can't keep seeing you die in front of me, I can't-" Yuichi wanted to turn around and hug him so bad.. Leo sounded so tired, like he was about to cry as he hugged Yuichi a bit tighter. At this point he didn't even care about the blood staining his shirt, he just wanted to provide some sense of comfort for his boyfriend. "I.. It's okay Leo.. You'll be okay- I know it's scary, and I can't begin to image how hard it's been for you to deal with this.." He wasn't sure what else he could do, he knew he had to bring Leo back but if he made any sudden moves Leo might run off again.. Or worse he might panic and try to fight him.. "L-Leo..? Can I ask you for a favor?" There was another moment of silence, then he felt Leo nod against his back, better make this count- "Think you'd be able to give me a kiss..? J-Just one, can you close your eyes and give me one last kiss? And it'll all be over after that, I promise. I won't ask you for anything else." Another short pause, "..Just one? And then you'll leave?" Yuichi nodded, "You have my word Lo- Leo.." There was a moment where it felt like Leo was hesitating, then his hand came around Yuichi's head blocking out his eyes, probably so there was no way their eyes would meet, gently pulling his head back as Leo leaned in and kissed him. Yuichi turned into the kiss, regret setting in, he didn't want to hurt Leo.. He really didn't hurt him, in any way. But he couldn't just sit there and watch him continue hurting like this.. He turned more, winding his hand up and forcing his hand into a fist hitting Leo's neck, right under the jaw, sending him flying down the sewer tunnel, it was the quickest way to get him knocked out- He hated the feeling of their lips being forced apart and the confused and scared expression Leo made.. The pit in his stomach sank more as he picked the slider up in his arms, "Sorry.. But this really was the best way to fix this-" He muttered as he started down the hall, trying to find his way back to the hideout.
Leo shifted just a moment after being picked up, his eyes wide as he let out a low growling sound from the back of his throat, it had only been half a second this all happened before Leo attacked Yuichi, biting hard on the space between his shoulder and his neck. Teeth piercing his skin like he was fighting for his life- Yuichi cried out but he refused to let go of Leo, he instead rammed himself into the wall giving Leo another jarring blow, this time it was finally enough force to render him unconscious and his hold on Yuichi was gone. "Fuck.. Jesus Leo- I guess I earned that though…" He steadied himself before continuing to walk back, it felt like forever, all the weight in his hands and his own blood loss starting to get to him, till he finally saw a light. The lair- It had to be. He sped up pushing past the curtain wall to see Mikey and Raph nervously talking amongst themselves, Mikey saw the movement and shot up, "Leo-! Usagi-!!" He called as Yuichi fell to his knees, carful not to drop Leo on his way down, "He- He's just unconscious.. Sorry- Took uh.. Longer than I thought it would.. H-He's really somethin' …H-He'll be okay right.. Right?"
"What the hell happened?? Why are you bleeding?? Why is Leos's covered in- Wait… H-He didn't..? Did he..?"
"D-Don't worry… He didn't snap at me.. I tried to knock him out- It didn't- The first time he.. His arms Sorry I.. I uh" Raph took Leo from his arms and gave Mikey a nod as he rushed him to the medbay to get him strapped down and let Donnie and Drax have a look at him. Mikey pulled Yuichi up with the rabbits arm over his head around his neck opposite the side of his wound for support, "It's okay, it's all gonna be okay… Thank you for bringing him home Usagi- Don't worry, he's home now, and you're here with him, and you'll be okay too.." Usagi couldn't tell if Mikey was saying those things to cheer him up to maybe to calm himself down? The rest was a blur, he must have passed out before they could get all the way to the medbay.
He did. And Mikey carried him the rest of the way. Yuichi shot up in his bed with a panic, he was just carrying Leo a moment ago. What even happened before he blacked out? The room was dark, and colder than usual, everything ached but he couldn't quite place why.. Then he noticed the soft light of a lamp across the room just barely lighting up another bed. Leo was laying there reading some old Jupiter Jim comic, he looked.. Better? The bags under his eyes weren't as dark and his arms had been wrapped in bandages, he threw the thin blanket off himself as he leapt out of the bed, "Leo-!" He called out, seeing him perk up almost like a flinch but he didn't tell Yuichi not to get closer. So he went as fast as his legs would let him, but he was stopped half way by both Donatello and Michelangelo. "Woah there-"
"Wait Usagi hold on-"
"Leo- I-Is he okay? What happened? Did-"
"Dude he'll be fine- You need to lay back down before you rip your stiches-"
"But-" There was a moment where Yuichi stopped struggling to get out of their arms, he glanced between the two, clearly not even worried about himself. Mikey turned to face Leo, "Can we put your beds together?" Yuichi looked almost hurt they even asked, in fact why hadn't their beds been put together at the start? It made the most sense after all, right? He looked at Leo and watched his expression, at least he could face Yuichi's eyes without turning away or freaking out now.. "I-If Yui wants to.. I'm okay with it." Yuichi felt the grip on his arms loosen to let him walk over himself, he was so confused why Leo was acting this way.. Like he was scared of him? He slowly walked over, carefully setting his hands on rail of the bed while the brothers moved a bed to the other side for him. "Hey Stripes.. How you holdin' up?" Leo smiled a little at the nickname but it quickly faded and he turned his gaze away. "I'm… Better, thanks to you.." Yuichi nodded and stood there for a moment, trying to give Leo time to say something if there was anything on his mind, but the slider seemed to be just on edge if not more so than he was. "Leo..?" He asked, a little softer. He leaned down kissed Leos head, "You get any sleep?" Leo bit his lip, his eyes glossed over like he was about to cry. He nodded at Yuichi, "Y-Yeah… Dee says I slept for a whole day."
"Twenty nine hours to be exact, with two bathroom breaks and one meal break."
Yuichi chuckled a little and gave a little nod to Donnie to thank him, "Oh- Well hold on, twenty? No no, I just- We were just- ..How long was I out then?" Donnie shrugged then checked his watch, "In two minutes it will be twenty six hours. You were also on some fairly strong pain medication, provided by yours truly, so its likely those hours you were awake will be a blur if not completely gone. Fear not though we have alerted your guardian that you were going to be here for the next day or two to look after Leo who had been.. Injured." Mikey went over to Yuichi's side and gently put his hand on the rabbits back nudging him towards the now set bed, "C'mon, I know the pain meds make you feel like you're good to go but you still lost a lot of blood so you shouldn't be up just yet." Leo looked back down and the comic in his hands, in all the time they'd been talking he hadn't turned the page once.. It looked like he was pretending to read to avoid looking at them… Yuichi climbed into the bed with Mikey's help and scooted over a bit to be closer to Leo, who tensed up at the movement. Donnie and Mikey figured they'd leave for a bit now that they were both awake and apparently needed to talk about some stuff.
Yuichi frowned a little more, "I- Leo if this is about what you said.. I-In the tunnel- You weren't serious right? Or- I-Is this about what I did? I-I'm sorry I didn't.. I didn't have a choice I didn't know what else to do I mean you were.. I was-" He felt his heartrate double with anxiety, Leo had nearly tried to break up with Yuichi that night, was.. Was he serious? Did he still mean what he said? Leo tilted his head a little, "Wha- No I-I don't uh, I don't actually remember… Anything from the past few days.. Sorry uh- What.. What did I tell you? Was it.. Something bad?" Fuck now he looked just as anxious as Yuichi.. "Then- Why are you acting so weird?" He ran a hand past his ears through his fur as he tried to understand, "If you don't remember, why.. Are you acting like… Like you're scared of me.. Like you don't want to be close anymore? Did I- Did I do something? Did I-"
"Yuichi look at you! I bit you! I fucking- I hurt you.. You should be scared of me! You shouldn't want to be near me, o-or in a bed next to me- You shouldn't be so.. So nice to me… I'm dangerous!"
"This-?" He moved his hand gently feeling the part of his shoulder right above the collar bone that had been buzzed down and stitched up, "Well to be fair I tried to knock you out- So you were just defending yourself in your own sleep deprived way- That's my fault-"
"No it's not! Yuichi- I wasn't in the right mind sure but I- I-If something like that ever happened again? If I'd bit and deeper I could have fucked up your nerves and you would've lost the ability to move that arm at all! I could have paralyzed you- That's not normal!!" Yuichi paused for a moment then started to laugh, Leo looked confused for a moment, wondering if Yuichi had finally lost it or something- "That'd be ironic.." He said as his laugher died out. "I mean, you lost your right arm, so if I lost my left we'd kinda complete each other huh?" Leo's frustration started to fade as he looked at Yuichi with more of an "over-it" expression. "Oh but we'd still be able to hold hands with our real ones, that'd be kind of poetic too huh.. Not to mention you lost an arm trying to get something that would let you be with me more.. And I could've lost mine trying to be with you more… Seems pretty ironic to me-" Leo let out a dry chuckle, "That's so dumb-" Yuichi scooted closer again and resting his head on Leos shoulder, "Yeah but, it'd be funny that we'd have another thing in common. Though if you wanted my hand that badly, you could've just asked~" Leo chuckled a bit harder and rolled his eyes, "Oh boo, that joke was terrible… one out of four arms-"
"Three."
"Hey I count my prosthetic thank-you-very-much."
The both laughed a little as they snuggled closer together. "So.. You're really not scared of me..?" Leo asked after a moment, Yuichi nodded, "Of course not. I told you, I love you, all of you. Even the sad parts and the angry ones, or the sleep deprived ones that get themselves into trouble.. Nothing you say is gonna make that change, you're stuck with me~" Leo smiled a little, "Ohoho are you sure you're not stuck with me~? This is your last chance to back out cause you know just how stubborn and protective I am about things I care about- You reeeaaallly wanna stick with me cottontail?" Yuichi rolled his eyes and moved his hand, gently cupping Leos cheek pulling him into a kiss.
"I do~" THE END (as far as you know)
{🧡Magic Blonde🧡}
Renet is being brought into the mix fellas!!
Tumblr media
Sitting at the window seat overlooking the advanced city, Renet Tilly, a Timestress and apprentice to Lord Simultaneous was waiting for something to occur. Anything that could make her get out of the long list of chores awaiting her. Something she desperately did not want to begin.
And is if she herself summoned it, she was called to the main hall for something. Grabbing her pendant and staff that allowed her to enhance her powers she tiredly walked towards the hall. Fixing her long blonde hair into a braid. She fixed her outfit. Some boots, baggy pants and a dark blue Tungusic with very short sleeves. She had wrist guards and pouches hanging from her belt along with her knife.
As the door opened, her master was looking out onto the. Where magic and science merged to better their society and community. Turning his head, Simultaneous took of his helmet and put down on his study. Letting his black man bun show.
"Renet, glad you could make time to chat to an aging man." He sighed as he continued to look over some scrolls. Filled with knowledge and prophecies from all over their dimension. And some from fragments of other dimension but not fully pieced together. "There is a book I need. One from the dimension Z2000-1416. I need you to go and get it for me. If one of our Farseers' see that it's needed in it's home dimension than we'll send it back." Turning to look at the young teenager, he found that she was already starting up her staff to open up the portal.
"Won't let you down master! I'll be in and out!" Already rushing through but getting stopped by being pulled back with her mentors powers.
"Hold on, I want you to make time with this. If you gain assistance along the way so be it. Take this opportunity to clear your mind. You'll need it for tomorrow's training." Groaning in future exhaustion, Renet was set down and walked through the portal. Closing the portal, Renet arrived in a city that wasn't nearly as advanced as hers. There were modes of transportation but no magic mixed with sciency bullshit machines.
"Okayyy, let's see what dear old Simu wants me to snag." She talked to herself as she opened up a picture of what she needed using her pendant. Not aware of the eyes staring holes onto the back of her head.
"Dudes."
"We know Mikey."
"She just walked out of a portal."
"We saw Mikey."
"I know, but still, you can't expect me to not audibly mention it." Turning back to where the girl was, they realized she was gone. Each of the brothers standing up and looking around to see where she had gone they fail to look behind.
"Boo!"
"AHHH!" The turtle brothers screamed at the same time as they turned around and saw the 5,8 girl standing in front of them. With Raph holding one of his sais in front of her face. Smiling she simply puts a finger on the steel and pushes it down away from her.
"Hello!" She greeted. The brothers blinked and Mikey grinned. Going up to greet her properly. Hand drawn out for a shake. One that was returned happily and then went down the line of the ninja quartet. "Nice to meet you guys, question. Do any of you know where to find a place of old artifacts? Preferably a book?"
The guys looked at each other. Than Donnie began typing something on his wrist tablet.
"Do you know what the name of it is? I need specifics to get close." Renet felt dumb, of course they need to know what it's called.
"Shit I don't know, my master just made me errand boy to go fetch something for a side project of his." Welp, she's fucked. It'll take a while before she gets that book, especially with only imagery to base her search off it. "Sorry to bother you guys. I'll leave you to whatever you were doing earlier." Beginning to walk away, she was pulled back by a large hand. One from the red masked turtle.
"Not so fast. You can't just portal here, introduce your mission and just dip." Oh yeah, things were different here.
"Sorry but I need to get that book. I'm not on time crunch, but it would still be nice to relax for a bit. Haven't really been able to recently."
"You're an open book aren't you?" Leo asked skeptical, a girl with a staff walks through a portal looking for an artifact that's old an it's going to help her master? Yeah no, sketchy. "I'm sorry but we're not helping you. I'm not putting my family in danger."
Renet seemed saddened but nodded her head. She understood. Of all people she was the one that most understood. She went to turn and leave but a voice made her freeze.
"I'll go with her!" The brothers looked at Mikey like he was insane. "What? She needs help, plus who knows what kind of danger awaits with a magical being." Leo looked apprehensive but nodded his head reluctantly.
"Come back safe and immediately after finding that book. Don't be stupid, and you," he looked at Renet who was smiling at Mikey. "Don't let him get hurt. Understand?"
It was kind of embarrassing for Mikey, he was 19 but still got treated like a baby. Regardless Renet nodded and made a salute gesture. Donnie huffed in amusement while Raph just stared.
After heading off to the best place Mikey knew to have old things(library), Raph glanced at his older brother.
"What?"
"Nothing, just, I don't know,... proud of you? Letting Mikey go on his own with a stranger." Donnie nodded his head in agreement. Sighing Leo gained an urge to go after the two but realized that would be stupid. Because in that case he should've just gone with in the first place.
"Just hope he doesn't get hurt."
--------------------------------
He in fact, did get hurt. But, much less than Renet. After reaching the library they were able to gain a lead on where the book might be. An abandoned mine outside the city border. Teleporting there, they found Krang soldiers digging around the area.
Renet had felt with them before. Specifically for them trying to conquer other worlds. Lord Simultaneous had fought their previous leader years prior, but a new one came to power right after. Taking in deep breathes she turned to Mikey.
"You should go. They're small but they make up for it in numbers." Shaking his head rapidly, Mikey rebutted.
"Nuh uh, I'm not leaving you here. Especially when we're so close to getting that book. You can count on me Ren." With a million thoughts racing, Renet was trying to think of a way to not get this giant goofball hurt. She promised his brother he would be home. Safe.
"Alright, here's what we're gonna do,.." It went smoothly. For the first part. Sneak around the Krang soldiers and make sure they're not seen. Easy. Get the spot where the book is? She could make a portal but that'll make a bright light giving away their hiding spot. Being discreet was better. Did that take Mikey bridal carrying Renet for a bit? Yeah, did they both enjoy that? Maybe too much. Then they found the pedestal with the book on it. Perfect. "Run Mikey!!"
Krang bots had gotten into the cave where mystical artifacts, including the book and the duo were hiding. Aiming lazer guns at them, Renet lifted the terrapin with her powers and launched him through a portal. One that shot him to edge of the forest a few miles away from the fight.
As he was flying through the air, a few stray shots scraped Mikey's arms and legs. When the portal was closing a shot hit Renet in the back and the portal closed. Frantically, fighting through the pain, he ran to where they first found the cave entrance. Hoping he could make it on time.
Halfway there,(or wherever Mikey was going) a portal shot out from above in front and Renet blasted through unconscious. Jumping, he caught her and ran back home. Praying to whatever god was out there, and she believed in to give them mercy.
Trying his best to not be noticed by random civilians. Grabbing his phone and ringing up his brother who never sleeps.
"Donnie! Get the med bay ready, Renet's hurt, bad!" Quickly rushing over to his little brothers side, Donnie assessed the injuries on the blonde and took her into his lab. She had second degree burns on her arms, some forming to third and had open wounds that were glowing green.
"What attacked?" He asked trying to cool down the burns and figure out how to heal her without turning her into a mutant.
"Krang soldiers. They had these crazy guns, she threw me out of the battle before I got injured." Donnie glanced at his brother. Only minor burns and cuts that would heal later tomorrow. Finally noticing the other two terrapins were there they dragged Mikey away from the lab letting their mind gifted sibling space to focus.
Mikey was quiet, but wasn't staying still. Kept pacing back and forth. Rubbing his face in his hands, cracking his few knuckles from time to time and Leo felt guilty. A while ago he was talking shit about Renet, giving her a bad rep without even knowing her. It felt worse seeing his brother be anxious, especially when he's usually so optimistic.
Raphael, bless his soul, was trying to distract Mikey but all it did was make Mikey more anxious. More nervous. After what felt like days, Splinter was able to convince his youngest to sit down and rest after the excitement he went through. Getting him his favorite flavored tea(Hibiscus), the doors to the lab opened and Donnie came out with a limping Renet. She was using her staff as a walking stick and was going up to Mikey.
"Glad to see you alive," she said making Mikeys' eyes shoot up and regaining life in his pupils. Watching as third part felt like watching Mavis and Johnny from Hotel Transylvania zing. Maybe having her around wasn't as bad as he feared.
--------------------------------
"You got the book, then?" Renet nodded and pulled it out of her bag hanging on her belt which shouldn't have technically fit but seeing as she was a space wizard, Leo wasn't questioning much anymore. "Are you leaving?"
At this, the girl went silent. Smiling sadly, lifted her head up to look at Mikey and Raph playing a video game on the couch from the kitchen counter. Sighing softly she put her head back down.
"My master needs this. Besides, not like I can't visit." She said getting one last drink of the Crush soda Mikey had given her and walked away to say goodbye to Splinter. Whilst that was happening, Leo went to get his brothers ready to bid farewell the maiden who saved their sibling.
"She's leaving after saying bye to us. So if any of you want to ask anything about her dimension make it now. She's exhausted and apparently needs to train later." Pouting, Mikey and Raph paused the game and got ready for Renet to come back to the living room and say bye.
"Thank you again for letting me gain my strength back Master Splinter. I'll bring some tea leaves from my hometown as a thank you next time I visit. Promise it'll be sooner than you think too." Mikey got excited at that last bit, as well as Donnie. He couldn't wait know what kind of advantages magic with science could give. Also the dangers. Guess only time can tell and show now.
Sunshine Of The Woods: Chapter 5, Familiar Aftermath
"What just happened?" Raph shouted, pushing a large piece of metal away while making a mad dash for the machine.
Or what remained of it.
The metal frame was half scorched, cracked and bent at disturbing angles. Metal shouldn't even be able to bend like that. Orange fire licked at the door frame, casting the entire room in a vibrant glow.
The only thing still remotely intact was the control panel in front of the door, with Leo's odāchi still plugged in.
The blade had a crack in it, shaped like a thin lightning bolt just below the hilt.
However when Raph raced over to the torched remains of the door, he didn't notice that the crack had started glowing.
"Mikey! MIKEY!" There was nothing on the other side of the portal, no burnt Mikey bits or shreds of his gear.
But that was the thing. There was no trace of the box turtle.
No orange fabric.
No Kusari-fundo.
No phone.
No Mikey.
He was gone!
"Mikey are you ok? Mikey where are you!" The eldest turtle continued to shout regardless of all the evidence saying that Mikey wasn't here.
Or lack of evidence to be exact.
"Where is he!" Leo screamed as more rubble began to fall, shaking the warehouse with each crash.
Raph dared to look up, his heart jumping to his throat.
The rubble was coming from the ceiling.
The warehouse was starting to collapse!
He looked towards the portal, Mikey was gone!
Where was he?
"Raph we need to go now!" Donnie yelled, a metal pincer grabbing his mask tails. It yanked the snapper back with full force, causing him to nearly stumble.
He was almost dragged back through the warehouse by Donnie until his legs finally got with the program so he could run.
The same metal-on-metal screaming suddenly started up again, just as loud as it was when the machine was activated. The warehouse began to shake, whining under the stress.
The ceiling caved in, forcing the two ninjas to stop dead in their tracks. Metal pipes and parts of the ceiling crashed down, electrical cables sparking overhead. Raph suddenly noticed that someone else was missing. "Where's Leo! Leo?"
Donnie looked behind, brows pinching together "Nardo what are you doing? Just leave it!" Raph dared to turn his head.
Leo was still at the control panel, trying to pull his Odāchi out from the metal.
The weapon was glowing. A bright blue hue that clashed with the orange flames that grew stronger by the second. The screaming was shaking the building as Leo struggled to keep a grip on the handle.
"LEAVE IT!" Both turtles shouted in sync, Leo whipped his head around.
"NO WAY!"
"LEO!"
"WE NEED IT! WE GOTTA FIND MIKEY!"
"WE WILL!"
"LEO PLEASE WE'LL COME BACK FOR IT!" Donnie interjected as the sparks made the fire grow stronger, singing his legs.
"IT'S ALMOST OUT!" Raph could see tears rolling down Leo's cheeks.
The glow turned white, every other noise drowned out by the Odāchi's wailing.
Raph grabbed Donnie as tightly as possible, surrounding the two of them with a hologram from his tonfas. And for the second time that day there was an explosion.
Burning flames.
Heavy black smoke.
Falling metal.
Shattering glass.
A wail of agony.
Then there was silence.
"...aph?"
"..raph?"
"Raph?"
"Raph!"
"RAPH!"
The first thing the snapper saw when he opened his eyes were two brown ones.
Two panicked brown eyes.
Donnie was sitting to his left, his purple bandana torn up, sharpie eyebrows smudged, bits of broken glass embedded in his right shoulder. His skin was coated in a layer of ash and sweat, far grimier than Donnie would usually tolerate. "Raph are you ok how many fingers am I holding up?" The softshell held up two fingers, though they were blurry.
Raph blinked the haze from his vision "Two? What happened?" Donnie whimpered, looking around at the remains of the warehouse. There was almost nothing left. The walls and ceiling were completely gone. Flames burned every surface with metal and concrete everywhere.
With a pained grunt the red clad turtle sat up, noticing a deep gash on Donnie's right forearm, staining the limb crimson.
"Leo's over there but I can't reach him!" Donnie gestured in the direction of the portal, which was now blocked off by massive metal pipes. The softshell hiccupped, furiously rubbing his eyes dry. "That dum dum! It's common sense that you leave the building that is about to explode! Not run back in! What was he thinking!" There were tear tracks on the younger turtle's cheeks.
The elder turtle stood up, ignoring how everything began to sway and grabbed one of the pipes. He chucked it away, doing the same thing with the rest of the pipes.
A pained whimper sounded from behind the rubble. It was Leo!
When the last pipe was moved…
Leo!
"RAPH!" The slider yelled, though it sounded like a sickening cross between a gasp and a sob. Donnie sprinted over and grabbed Leo.
He gasped, slapping a hand over his mouth. "Raph! Raph he can't walk you'll have to carry him!" When he came over and scooped Leo into his arms, he suddenly understood why.
His eyes widened in horror at the sight of Leo's right leg. The knee was clearly broken, bone jutting through the skin. It was bloody and mangled in a jagged scrape that covered the joint.
Oh god.
Oh fucking god.
"I-I-I'm sorry!" Leo sobbed pitifully in Raph's arms, fear painted all over his bruised, ash covered face.
"It's alright! You're gonna be just fine! Right Donnie?" The purple clad turtle gave Raph an incredulous look as if to say 'Are you joking?' Donnie simply shrugged. Not exactly an answer.
"But M-M-Mikey! We gotta find him!" Leo tried to wiggle out of his big brother's arms, to run back to the control panel and get his Odāchi so they could portal Mikey back home! Maybe…hopefully.
But as soon as he tried to move a scream erupted from his throat as his leg was moved. The slider suddenly went limp in Raph's arms, eyes rolling back into his head.
"Leo! LEO WAKE UP!"
"Raph! The fire's getting worse!" Donnie yelled, trying to shove the larger turtle away. "We! Got! To! Go! NOW!"
The two stumbled out of the remains of the warehouse and into the streets, fire engines could be heard rapidly approaching. Time to book it!
Raph threw open the door to the turtle tank, climbing inside with Donnie close behind. Once the door was shut the purple clad turtle took control of the tank, speeding down the streets. Opposite of the firetrucks they would have to take the long way around to avoid the humans.
"Move it! Outta the way bitch! Watch it!" Donnie yelled, swerving left and right through the road at top speed. Earning dozens of angry honks in response. Raph gulped, his stomach churning heavily.
The constant swaying of the turtle tank did not help matters. One hand was gripping the armrest of his chair so tightly that his knuckles had gone snow white.
The other hand was cradling Leo close to the snapper's plastron, like he would shatter if he dared to let go. Leo's pulse was rapid, but frankly Raph didn't care.
It meant that his younger brother was still alive.
Leo whimpered, shifting around in his sleep, face clenched into a tight grimace. Raph nuzzled his brother's head, churring softly to try and soothe him. It didn't seem to have an effect. "Just hang in there Leo, we'll be home soon and Pops can patch you up!" Those words were supposed to be encouraging, but they felt hollow on his lips.
"Will you fuck off you motherfucking cunt! This is an emergency you bitch ass whore so fucking MOVE!" The turtle tank's horn was slammed, the sound echoing across the city streets. Raph sighed tiredly, normally he would reprimand Donnie for swearing so much.
But after everything that happened today…first Mikey then Leo…
He gets a pass.
There was a soft buzzing from Donnie's side. Donnie grabbed the cellphone, glaring furiously at the screen. From where Raph was sitting, he could see April's profile.
Donnie hit call and put it on speaker "What!" He hissed through gritted teeth before honking the horn yet again.
"Dude what the hell?" April whispered through the phone. "You're scaring my parents!" Donnie suddenly tensed up, looking at one of the cars in front of the one he was furiously honking at.
That car was a blue sudan. A very familiar blue sudan. It belonged to April's parents! The phone fell from his hand and clacked on the floor.
"Donnie! Hello? Answer the phone!" April's voice went up a few pitches at the silence. Using one tonfa, a red hologram overtook Raph's free arm and gently grabbed the phone.
"Hi April! We can't talk now but Donnie's very sorry for abusing the horn. Just come over as soon as you get the chance, ok?" He heard April mumble something under her breath.
"Ok! Just don't do that! My mother nearly had a heart attack!" She hissed, voice barely audible on the phone. Raph nodded and hung up, his heart pounding against his ribs. Donnie whimpered, sending the snapper an apologetic look.
"It's fine Donnie, we'll explain everything when April comes over later!" The softshell looked a little comforted by that.
There was a sputtering noise from the tank, smoke puffing out from the engine.
"What the!"
"Shit! She must've been damaged in the explosion! Of fucking course!" The engine continued to sputter and whine, making Raph cringe nervously.
Donnie turned off the road, ducking into an alley before parking the tank. He climbed out, grabbing a box of tools on the way out. "Shit shit shit fucking son of whore I swear to fucking god." The door to the tank closed, leaving Raph and Leo alone.
The snapper gulped, rocking in his chair while holding his younger brother.
Leo's eyes were half open, completely dull and not at all focused on anything. Raph pressed their foreheads together, tears welling up in his eyes. This day was a complete disaster from start to finish.
First Leo's odāchi was stolen, then a fight against the Foot Clan ended with Mikey straight up disappearing! Gone! Blip! Bye bye!
Then the warehouse exploded. Twice!
Now Leo was hurt, the tank was damaged and they were still so far from home.
Tears dripped down onto Leo's face, Raph shaking as he held his brother. He failed.
He failed.
He couldn't protect his brothers.
He should've got them out of the warehouse faster!
Should've got Leo's odāchi back before it was plugged into that god damn machine!
Should've kept everyone inside for the day so this entire clusterfuck would have never happened!
But he didn't!
He failed!
He failed!
He failed!
He failed!
He failed!
He didn't know how long he was sitting there crying on Leo before there was a knock on the tank door.
Leo was gently laid in his brother's chair. Donnie must've forgotten something.
However when he opened the door he was met with April's worried face.
"Raph what happened?" She asked, taking note of the scrapes and bruises. The layer of ash, the tear tracks. The bloodshot eyes. Her gaze softened before she wrapped her arms around the snapper.
"A…a lot happened, April." He hugged the girl, tears falling into her hair. "Leo's hurt really bad…Mikey's missing." April pulled away, eyes wide.
"What do you mean Mikey's missing?" She asked looking around the tank for the orange clad box turtle. But he wasn't there. Her eyes landed on Leo and she gasped, running over to him.
"Oh my god! How did this happen? Who did this?" She asked, venom clear in her voice. As soon as April found out what hurt her brother there would be hell to pay. Raph shrugged. Where could he even begin? Exhaustion began to cling to his bones. God he was tired.
Raph scooped Leo up, yet again holding him protectively in his arms. "Donnie's fixing up the Turtle Tank, it got a little busted in the blast.
A cloud of black smoke puffed out from the front of the tank, directly into Donnie's face, earning a string of curses that would make a sailor blush.
"What blast?"
"A warehouse exploded. Twice" April's jaw dropped as she gave her brother a confused deadpan stare. God what did she miss?
"Ok, Ok start from the beginning. How did you four get into a double warehouse explosion?" She sat down on the arm rest next to Raph, one arm slung over his shoulders.
The weight was comforting, giving the red clad turtle the strength to actually smile a bit. With a sharp inhale he looked at April. "Ok so it started when the Foot Clan stole Leo's Odāchi from him in the park."
The snapper told April everything, from the fight at the warehouse to the portal opening and swallowing Mikey right up, then the two explosions and how everyone got so banged up.
Once the story was finished, Donnie came back, motor oil coating his upper body and head, much to his obvious displeasure.
"I can't fix the tank." The softshell slumped into his chair, furiously wiping the motor oil from his face.
"You can't?" April asked.
"How bad is it Donnie?" Donnie's face said it all. It was really really bad.
"First of all, hey April, sorry for scaring your parents. I was just in a hurry to get home…for obvious reasons." He pointed at Leo who was still mostly unconscious. April nodded in understanding. It was a stressful situation after all.
"So how are you two gonna get home without the Tank and Leo's sword?" Neither turtle had an answer to their big sister's question.
"We could take the Shell Hogs but I don't want to leave the Tank here exposed. Plus it might not be good to jostle Nardo anymore than he's already been." That was true, all the moving around could make Leo's injuries worse.
"Maybe we could make a sling of some kind on the Shell Hog so Leo isn't getting moved around so much?"
"Perhaps, if I can find the right materials." And with that Donnie left the tank, muttering under his breath.
April's phone buzzed, making her cringe. "I'm sorry it's my mom, I gotta go back."
"Wait, you left your parents?"
"We were going grocery shopping and I've been gone too long. I swing by the lair as soon as I can!" She bounded out of the tank and sprinted off into the streets. Leaving Raph alone yet again.
There was a mumble from the turtle in his arms. "Did anyone get the number of that bus? Ow…" Raph chuckled, nuzzling Leo's forehead.
"Are you feeling ok?"
"No I feel like I got pummeled by a bus, what the fuck happened?" Raph gently covered Leo's knee with his hand. His hand wasn't touching the injury, just hovering above it enough so the blue clad turtle wouldn't see how bad it was and pass out again.
"I'll tell you when we get home ok buddy?" Leo groaned, lifting his head up to look around the tank.
"Donnie's working on something outside…and Mikey's helping him." It was a lie, obviously. But right now Leo needs to rest, not work himself into a panic looking for Mikey.
"Where's the noodle?" Raph blinked at the question.
"What?"
"Y'know the noodle!"
"Leo, are you just hungry? Do you want some ramen or something?" The blue clad turtle shook his head, trying to sit up.
"Oh come on Raphie the scaly noodle! It bites and it hurty!" He gestured with his arms, making biting motions with his hands.
After a few moments the older turtle spoke. "Do you mean a snake?" Leo nodded so hard he almost looked like a bobble head.
"Big! White! Half metal! Baby noodles for arms! She was going to Coney Island! How sick is that!" Raph just stared at his younger brother. Was he serious? The words were half slurred together, the slider's eyes not even focused on anything.
He most likely has a concussion.
"Uh yeah sure buddy." A downright offended gasp came from Leo's mouth. He pouted, crossing his arms. Or at least attempting to.
"You don't believe me! Unbelievable! Our sister is a mutant noodle going to Coney Island and you don't believe me!" Leo pulled his head into his shell with a soft pop. Mumbling the entire time.
"Buddy, April's not a mutant snake-"
"Our other sister, genius!" But they didn't have other sisters. April was the only one!
Donnie came back in, a few bite marks on his arms.
"Stupid fucking raccoons, I got a sling ready on the Shellhog. You get Nardo back home and I'll see if I can get the Turtle Tank underground."
There was a thick sling tied to the side of the Shellhog, big enough for Leo to lay in without being jostled too much. Raph nodded. "Alright thanks Donnie." The snapper carried Leo outside and laid him gently in the sling, even putting his helmet on him. Just in case.
Once Raph got on he looked at Donnie one more time. "Promise you call me if you need any help, ok?"
"I can assure you Raphael that I will not require assist-" At the deadpan stare coming from the eldest brother, Donnie went quiet.
"Promise."
"Alright, I promise that I will call you on the slim chance that I do need assistance, now please get Leo back home or I will start biting." Raph chuckled and drove off, weaving through the back alleys to avoid being spotted.
Leo whined from the sling, his head pulled back out from his shell and once again wearing the pained expression on his face.
Raph frowned as he drove, they would be home soon.
Then this nightmare of a day could be over.
"Ow…ow ow ow…OW!" Another piece of glass was pulled from Donnie's arm.
It was laid down in the tray with the other bloody pieces. A rag was pressed to the cut, stopping the bleeding so it could be bandaged.
"That looks like the last big one." A grumble was the softshell's response. Raph ignored it, covering the wound with gauze once the bleeding had stopped.
"Oh joy, only about a hundred more small shards to go! Fantastic, he said sarcastically."
There was a small laugh from the nearby cot where Leo was laying. His right knee was in a thick blue cast, propped up by thick pillows.
"Aw come on DeeDee! Now you're all spiky like Raphie!" The slider cooed, words all jumbled together and mixed with giggles. So the pain killers are working.
When Raph pulled up to the garage, he didn't even bother to park the Shellhog before scooping Leo out.
"Pops! Pops!" He shouted, so loud that the walls shuddered.
He ran through the garage, his heart in his throat! "Pops! Leo's hurt really bad!" He almost sobbed, holding Leo as tightly as possible. On the ride here Leo had gone quiet, passing out again.
His breathing was shallow, pulse was weak.
And Raph was so scared.
Rapid footsteps echoed across the lair. A door was shoved open, revealing Splinter.
"Red what-" As soon as he saw Leo, Splinter gasped, covering his mouth as he hurried over. A hand was pressed to his neck, feeling for a pulse before resting on his forehead. "Take him to the medbay, now!" Raph didn't need to be told twice.
Once Leo was laid down in the medbay cot, Splinter rushed in with a massive first aid kit. While he got to work he glanced at his eldest.
"Where are Donatello and Michelangelo?"
"Donnie's trying to fix the Turtle Tank…and Mikey's gone."
Splinter froze.
"What do you mean Mikey's gone?"
With a heavy heart Raph once again told the story of what happened, and Mikey's disappearance.
"He just got swallowed up into the glowing portal! He could be anywhere!" Raph buried his face into his hands, hoping to god that the tears welling in his eyes would go away! "Is he ok? What if he's all alone? What if he's hurt? This is all my fault!"
"Red." Splinter's voice stopped the spiral before it could begin. "You couldn't have known what the Foot Clan was planning, or what that doorway would do. This is their fault and their fault alone. Not yours my son." Raph didn't exactly believe those words.
It's hard to believe it when you know you messed up. Your little brothers got hurt and got hurt bad, and the youngest one got sucked into a portal to who knows where.
Was Mikey even alive?
"We'll find him." Raph suddenly said, smothering all the doubt and anxiety. It won't do anyone any good if he worries himself sick. They will find Mikey and bring him home.
"Ok so, how are we going to find our little brother?" Raph asked the twins. Well he really asked Donnie, as Leo was still far too high on pain meds to be of any help right now.
Donnie's eyes narrowed, brows pinching together in what Mikey called his "thinking face." The purple clad turtle grabbed a nearby notebook and pencil and began sketching. "Well obviously that device from the foot clan was some kind of portal generator, using Leo's mystic odāchi as a power source. Or perhaps it was an amplifier to make the odāchi's portals stronger. Either one."
Raph nodded, pulling out a few small shards of glass. "Ok so where did the portal lead to?"
"Who fucking knows? It could've lead to New Jersey-"
"Gross."
"Or it could've led all the way to Asia or something. And that's assuming that the other end of the portal was still on earth. If not…anywhere in the galaxy, The universe?"
"Donnie not helping!"
"That's not even including the possibility that Mikey is even still in this universe!" A flick to the forehead silenced the turtle before he could go off further.
"Maybe Mikey's in Tahiti?"
"Or maybe Mikey's with the noodle!" Leo cooed, waving his arms around while making hissing noises.
Donnie scoffed. "For the twentieth time, there is no snake in Coney Island, you were simply hallucinating after hitting your head when you stupidly went back for your weapon." A raspberry came from the slider.
"No, I saw her when I grabbed my odāchi!" Donnie rolled his eyes.
Raph sighed as he put another bandage on Donnie. "Can you make some kind of tracking thingy to find Mikey?"
A shrug was his answer. "If we can find the odāchi and the control panel, perhaps. Assuming that Mikey is still on Earth and in this universe.
"He is."
The softshell looked up at Raph. "And how do you know that? That portal could have sent him literally anywhere! You have no proof to support your claim!"
"Do you have any proof that he isn't?" Donnie looked taken aback. Leo was laughing.
"Touché."
"Damn lmfao get told!" Of course Leo had to add in his oh so helpful commentary.
"Look until we have proof that Mikey isn't still on Earth, we assume that he is. Ok?"
"Schrödinger's Mikey. He is both here and not here at the same time! What an enigma!" Raph patted his younger brother's shoulder, but it was too late Donnie already went off into a tangent. Leo was staring at him, mouth agape as his mushy brain struggled to process any of the words.
Once Raph finished patching up Donnie, mind you he was still very much ranting by this point and didn't seem like stopping, Raph left the twins alone and climbed on the Shellhog.
He rode off as the sun was rising over the city, thank god that dreadful day was over.
His phone buzzed, a text from Pops.
"Red, where are you?"
"Just checking something out, I'll be back as soon as I can."
"Alright, but please be careful my son."
"Will do!"
Eventually he parked in front of his destination, Coney Island.
The amusement park stood tall overhead, the metal reflecting the rising sun like crystals. Rides and games as far as the eye can see. And not a single Albearto in sight! Mikey would love it here.
Could he? Was he?
Maybe he was just being paranoid.
Maybe this was just a stupid idea.
But maybe Leo was right.
And if he was right, that Mikey somehow ended up at Coney Island, could Raph live with himself if he didn't at least look?
Besides, if there really is nothing then Leo can rest a little easier.
The snapper entered the amusement park, hoping and praying that Mikry could be here.
And that the white snake wasn't.
Casey And The Ink Machine
Chapter 1: Can’t Be Erased
“Raph took a deep breath as his hand was holding the knob.
This isn’t gonna end well.
He opened the door and entered.
“Hey brotha. How ya doin?” Raph asked softly as he peeked in.
Leo was sitting at his desk, his eyes red and puffy as his face leaned onto his fists, hiding his mouth.
Leo’s glance wasn’t at Raph, but at a picture on his desk. Upon noticing Raph, Leo moved the picture face down and regained his composure.
“Oh I’m just… thinking” Leo said as he fixed his collar. He sat up in a professional position as Raph crossed his arms and leaned on the wall.
This is a bad time…
“Why are you here?” Leo asked, trying to keep a poker face. Raph looked at Leo and then looked down as he sighed.
“I need to talk to you bout somethin. You cool with that?” Raph responded. Leo gave a confused look.
Raphs not the type to ask if he can say something.
“Yeah? What is it?” Leo asked. Raph bit his lip.
“I’m leavin the studio” Raph finally said. Leo’s eyes went wide.
“What… why would you…” Leo whispered. Raph looked away.
“I know… I know it’s a bad time” Raph started before being interrupted.
“Bad time?” Leo scoffed as he sat up. “You’re tryin to abandon us? Especially now?”
Raph glared at Leo as he uncrossed his arms. “What do you mean by that?” He asked with contempt.
“We started this place as a family. We made it successful as a family. Now one of our family members is gone and you wanna abandon us?!” Leo spat.
“If family’s so damn important to ya, maybe ya shouldn’t have worked me to the bone to make my own damn toons that YOU profit off of!” Raph yelled.
“Oh please! Everyone, including me, tried to get you to take a break but you’d never listen! Now it’s MY fault it wore ya down?!” Leo yelled back.
“Yeah cause extending my hours without my permission and without extra pay and then gettin mad when I call you out on it is encouraging! I barely see my wife anymore! AND SHE WORKS HERE!” Raph shouted
Leo glared at him. “You’re willing to run away from your own damn family over some hours?!” Leo yelled.
“With family like yous, yeah! I am!” Raph responded as he turned to walk away.
Leo clenched his fists as he thought. “Raphael! If you walk out that door, then your creations are mine, ya hear!” Leo tried to threaten him with.
Raph grabbed some papers out of his pocket and threw em at Leo.
“Take em! I don’t care about those damn toons! I just wanna be with my wife and away from you!” Raph yelled.
He turned and walked out, slamming the door behind him. Leo looked down at the papers Raph threw at him.
It was of Raphs creations.
Donnie The Mechanic.
April The Angel.
Casey
The Demon….
Leo raised back up the picture he was looking at earlier. It was of him, Mikey, Raph and…..
Leo punched the picture without thinking. He dropped the photo and winced as he felt glass cutting into his skin.
That was goddamn stupid.
Leo looked for a mes kit as he held his fist. A drop of blood fell onto one of the drawings.
Leo used a towel on his desk to wrap up the wound as he saw the stain.
It fell directly on Casey the demon, covering the drawings pie cut eye.
“Shit”
He said under his breath as he grabbed the picture. He tried to wipe off the drop, only for it to smudge.
“Dammit”
He said. He ruined Raphs drawing.
But….
It wasn’t Raphs.
Not anymore.
They were his.
His creations.
His masterpiece…..
-
Raph took a deep breath as his hand was on the knob. He held up the note in his hand as he sighed.
“Alright Leo” Raph started as he opened the door.
“Let’s see if we can find what you wanted me to see” he finished as he walked in.
The place looked…. Strange.
For starters, everything was black and white.
Well….
Moreso black and yellow.
But it wasn’t just that. Everything looked… sketchy….
It felt like he walked into an old decayed sketchbook.
The place was dead quiet. All he could hear was the distant sounds of wood creaking and… something… dripping?
He had seen enough.
He turned around, preparing to leave. Only for the door behind him to be gone.
His eyes widened as he took a step back.
Did… did he remember where he went through wrong?
But.. but that can’t be he just went through there-
He took a deep breath.
Just… stay calm. And find another way out.
He told himself.
His heart raced. He felt hot in the face but cold in his limbs. He felt both too light and too heavy as his anxiety went up.
In through your nose. Out through your mouth.
He repeated in his mind as he walked forward.
He was about to yell out for Leo before deciding against it as he saw a room with a projector playing.
Raph crossed his arms as he watched the cartoon playing. His stress eased as he let out a small smile at the cartoon.
It was of Casey on a stage tap dancing to a little tune. It was simple, but cute.
Raph was impressed. The animators Leo got since he’s been gone have a real knack for movement.
But…
Something shifted for a split second. Raph didn’t quite catch it, but for a second he swore the lil dancin demon had….
Strangely realistically drawn eyes…
And a sinister grin.
Raph decided to turn around and leave, not seeing the toon on the walls eyes follow him.
Raph went down a hallway. He saw black goo dripping from pipes around the area. Raph avoided the ooze as much as he could, unsure of what it was.
He stopped as he saw something from the corner of his eye in the room next to him. He turned to see “The Creator Lied To Us” written on the wall with black goo.
He decided to not look into it and continue on his way. He saw a sign pointing to several rooms, but one caught his attention.
“The Ink Machine”
What is that?
Raph decided to follow the sign to this…. Ink Machine.
He turned a corner and gasped as he thought he saw someone. Only to realize it’s a simple cardboard cutout of Casey The Demon.
Raph groaned as he pinched his nose.
Seriously?
He knocked over the cutout as he continued on his way. He turned another corner as he saw the entrance to “the ink machine”
He went inside, not noticing until it was too late that black sludge was pooling on the floor, stepping in it.
Goddamit
He looked up and saw that he was on a ledge. Below was nothing but black goo that was so high it was spreading onto the floor he was currently on.
He turned to his right and saw a lever. Without thinking, he pulled it.
Raph quickly covered his ears as the room became deafeningly loud with the sounds of gear’s turning and chains clanking.
Out of the black ocean, several chains raised up a giant machine. The sludge slid off the hunk of metal as Raph saw a giant tube attached to it pouring out more black sludge.
There’s gotta be a way to turn this… ink machine off.
Raph thought as he looked around. He then saw to his left a wheel on a giant pipe. Next to it was a sign saying “ink pump”.
Raph went to turn the wheel, but the wheel was stuck. Try as he might, it wouldn’t budge.
“DOW!” He yelped as his hands slipped. He winced as his hands burned from the friction.
He looked down and saw a toolbox. He kneeled down and opened it, hoping to find a wrench for the job.
Unfortunately, the slot that seemed to be for a wrench was empty.
The hell did it go?
Raph got up and walked out of the room. He looked around the area, hoping to find the missing wrench.
He stopped for a second as he SWORE he saw a shadow behind his own from the corner of his eye.
He fixed his collar as he tried to calm down.
Dammit this place is too quiet
He thought as he continued. He turned another corner as he noticed something in a room near him.
He went in to see what it was, only to freeze in horror as he realized what it was.
In the middle of the room, was a corpse on an examination table.
Except it wasn’t a human corpse.
As raph stared, he recognized the tall body as…
Donnie The Mechanic?
But…
His- it’s body was torn and stitched up and leaking black ink.
Leo what the fuck were you doing?
He then saw the writing on the right wall.
“The heart of the damned in now ours, Angel of Above and Demon so Below”
Raph looked at the body again. He noticed it’s chest was ripped open, a wrench sticking out of the cavity.
Raph but his lip as he tried to relax, his eyes wide.
It’s a prop it’s a prop it has to be a prop
His body felt like jello as he slowly walked to the corpse.
I’m gonna kill Leo for this.
Raph looked at the things Xed out eyes as he grabbed the wrench. His stomach dropped as pulled.
His body was tense as he felt he couldn’t put all his strength into yanking the thing out.
He put a foot on the exam table as he pulled as hard as he could, falling on his back as the wrench gave.
“Oww” he groaned as he got up. He looked at the body and then at the ink covered wrench.
Just focus on getting out.
He turned to walk out. As he was at the room’s entrance, he couldn’t help but turn to look at the “prop” one more time.
Only for the exam table to be empty.
Raphs heartbeat was felt in his entire body as he quickly walked out.
He stopped for a minute once he felt far away enough. He leaned on a wal as his body felt shaky.
It’s fine it’s fine it’s fine
Just focus on getting out
In through your nose, out through your mouth
It’ll be fine
Just. Get. Out.
Raph took one big deep breath as he stood upright. He slowly regained his composure as he continued on his way.
He finally got back to the ink machine room when he saw that the entrance was boarded up.
When did….
Just focus on getting out
Despite his body yelling at him not to, he went up to the boarded up entrance.
He looked at the wrench he was holding. Maybe if he used enough force, he could break the planks of wood with i-
Raph barely processed the eye popping up through the holes between the planks as he heard wood shatter and felt something yank him up and inti a wall behind him.
He dropped the wrench as his hands grasped around the arm choking him. He tried to gasp for air as he could feel his neck bruise and crack from the pressure.
He looked down to see, through blurry vision, the thing choking him. He wasn’t sure what he was looking at.
But it wasn’t human.
It was a black and yellow beast. Somehow having sketch marks, half of its face was dripping with black ink, it’s raggedy hair and sharp horns blending into the black.
The other half of its face seemed yo have a skull painted on it, with a demented black eye with a red slit staring at him and an unnatural fanged grin enjoying his pain.
The arm choking raph was skeletal but with long, sharp claws. The other was inhumanly gigantic with two holes through the hand.
Raph could hear a low growl from the thing as it moved slightly and… strangely.
It’s movements were quick but rickety. Small but noticeable. As if every movement was a single frame put together to create something uncanny.
Raphs consciousness was starting to slip as he couldn’t breathe.
“Heh heh” the thing let out a small chuckle.
“You’ve been away for far too long” it said in what sounded like two voice’s speaking at once.
One sounded like a normal person with a Brooklyn accent, the other was the growling, distorted, deep voice of a beast.
Raph desperately tried to think of a way out as the things grip tightened. He kicked the thing in the face as hard as he could.
Only to scream as the monsters fingers slipped down to grab his jacket and he felt two rows of something sharp burrow into his foot.
He looked and saw the creatures head had split open vertically, revealing two rows of fangs on each side that were digging into Raphs ankle.
Raph quickly took the opportunity to unbutton his jacket and slip out of the monsters grasp.
As quickly as he could, he grabbed the wrench he dropped and slammed it across the things face before it could grab him again.
He ran off as the tall beast was distracted, adrenaline allowing him to ignore his wrecked ankle.
He turned for a sec as he ran and saw the thing was on all fours, chasing him with incredible speed.
Raph turned a corner and caught himself before hitting the wall and continued running.
The creature ended up sliding too far and slammed into the wall, slowing itself down and giving raph time to find a door.
He quickly went through the door, slammed it closed and lower the metal bar attached to it to lock it.
He could hear and feel the monster slam into the door with a gooey thud, unable to break through the metal.
He slumped down as he heard it bang on the door and growl. He took a sharp, shaky, deep breath as his ankle was in horrible pain.
He looked down at the wound. On both sides of his shoe he saw deep rows of gash marks that he thinks may have hit bone. The wounds were leaking blood and…
Ink?
He wiggled off his shoe as he saw the area was swollen real bad. He wiped away tears as he looked around for a med kit.
He saw one on the table in the middle of the room. He held the wall next to him as he got up, careful not to stand on his wounded foot.
He heard the floor creak as he hopped to the desk. He managed to get to it and lean on the desk, about to grab the med kit when-
“AHHH!” He yelled as the floor gave way, causing him to fall into the abyss below.
Raph could barely process the fall before slamming into the floor below. His body was writhed with pain as he struggled to breathe.
His vision was blurry as he tried to get up, only being able to get to his knees. He couldn’t tell where he was as he covered his mouth to let out a harsh cough.
He looked down at his hand as he was wheezing from pain. His hand was soaked with blood.
He looked down and saw a broken plank of wood sticking out of the side of his chest as he smelled and tasted nothing but blood.
He looked up as his vision blurred and his consciousness slipped away. Only able to let out one word before falling over.
“Fuck”
He fell on the floor, unable to do anything but lie down and bleed out.
He saw someone or….. something stand over him. His vision was far too blurry to make it out.
He felt his shoulders being grabbed and his body being dragged away.
He passed out before he could find out who possible savior, or possible killer, could be….”
Raph paused, taking a sip of the port as he removed his hand from the large envelope. It was odd, that. Giving up all that power, the authority. His word was second only to Bianca's- and now he would be returning to being a regular man. Or as regular as a man could be on a multi-million dollar yacht; Dario had invited him to join him on his sail around the world and Raph had decided to join him, which was why they were here now.
He lowered his glass, a small, fond smile curving the hard edges of his mouth. "...I've known Bibi since she was a child; I was a punk teenager back then. Dario, the Old Lion, saw something in me that even I couldn't see. He plucked me off of Naples' dirtiest streets and provided me with the opportunity to rise to the very top. He was raising Bianca; his own son abandoned her, basically, and Dario disowned him. She became the precious star of Zeppeli, polished to perfection over the years. She was eighteen when the Old Lion decided to pass on the crown."
Those steely eyes darkened. "There were a few in the Famiglia who disagreed with that choice- she was a delicate woman, too young, you know how it is. A dozen of them turned traitors, willing to sell secrets to other Families to further their gain. Bianca executed all twelve of them herself. The bodies she buried that day laid the foundation for her rule as Baroness."
Raph glanced at his phone before downing the rest of his drink and starting to stand. "We can meet her now, actually." For the first time, the older man hesitated, his gaze moving over his young, strong, handsome companion. "... The Baroness is terrifying and strange and beautiful. She's honey and gunpowder in equal measure. Your job is to guide her, yes, but you will love her and you’ll lust after her. It's inevitable, you see. But you must do so from afar or she will ruin you." A warning. Perhaps even a threat. -----------------
Palazzo Zeppeli stood outside of the city proper, an 18th-century structure that maintained most of the original structure and outer buildings. However, beneath the old stones and faded paint was the latest in tech and weaponry. Highly trained men who were the top in their chosen fields.
Raph emerged from the car as it pulled to a stop on the cobbled round about and was greeted. “And Bianca?”
“At the pool with her music, sir.” The soldier glanced over at Dio with clear curiosity. “Is that—“
“Soon, yes.” Raph gestured for Dio to follow him up the steps to the large double front doors. The palazzo was indeed grand, but there was a shabbiness that came with all old buildings; faded wallpaper, peeling in some places, antique furniture, polished in some places, others distressed. Doors and windows stood wide open, the breeze rustling flowing curtains. Raph guided Dio through the ground floor, pointing out rooms and things of interest until they passed through a sunroom and out to the back where a large pool was set in the brick ground.
Music from somewhere bounced through the air, a powerful opera. Bianca Zeppeli was neither short nor tall, with a body dominated by curves yet sculpted by muscle, wrapped in a flowing sundress. She moved over the surface of the water, bare feet hardly touching as she hit the different ballet positions, flowing from one to another to the beat of the music. As she twirled, her hair, as black as a raven's wing, flowed behind her. As the music hit its crescendo before fading away, she finally spotted the two men and made her way across the water to the brick.
"Raph, you're back." She gripped his forearm as she leaned up to press a kiss to his chin. Then her gaze turned to the stranger. Her eyes were large, long-lashed, the color of whiskey- they held shadows and secrets. "As lovely as always, Bibi. I always thought you should have gone into it professionally." The older man inclined his head. "Baroness, this is the young man I spoke to you about. Dio Brando, this is Baroness Bianca Zeppeli."
"Flatterer." She gave Raph's arm a gentle slap before her gaze turned back to the blond. They were unreadable, those eyes, as they met and held his. "So you will be the one who helps guide my destiny."
She held out her right hand, then. On her ring finger, a golden ring resembling a lion-headed door knocker. She watched the blond intently.
dio brando observes the old man before him with keen interest, his amber stare ablaze with a scintillating gleam that is near uncanny in its intensity. those fiery eyes remain fixed on their subject all the while he speaks; serving as both a quiet promise of the younger lawyer’s tenacity, but even more so than that, an unspoken show as to his fearsome reputation.
throughout his short yet fruitful career, the junior attorney has labored countless hours through sunrises and sunsets alike, all to endear himself indelibly to his work superiors and to grow his network however and wherever he can – and now, at last, his efforts are paying off in the form of better prospects. the offer to work for such a powerful family is more than enough to entice dio, although he is less intrigued by the money or the job itself, and far more so by what it has the potential to bring him.
even so, he does not make this decision lightly. with supreme amusement and just a touch of wistfulness, he recalls the aghast expressions upon the slack-jawed faces of his support staff upon his revelation that he is moving onto bigger and better things. evidently, the thought of an office lacking the presence of dio brando is too horrific for them to bear. indeed, he will miss the soft power he has cultivated at his previous firm, and the near-constant praise and adoration it has afforded him; despite the pleasure he takes in denying both their pleas that he stay and their offers to follow him with saccharine apologetics. but these are trivial entertainments, and dio will not allow distractions to come between himself and his boundless potential. finally, those with real power have taken note of his ambition, as he very well deserves. and as with every opportunity he has managed to seize, he intends to make the most of this one.
Tumblr media
❝ ...but of course, sir, ❞  he says, once he is certain that the elder man has finished speaking.  ❝ respect must be earned, after all. ❞  dio barely heeds the rest of the proud lawyer’s lengthy oration save for its most pertinent details, nodding attentively as is appropriate – upon this point, however, he emphatically agrees.  ❝ and should you be so gracious as to afford me the opportunity, i will accomplish exactly that – and so much more. ❞  this he says with such conviction, it almost borders on a threat.  ❝ i gladly accept. ❞
and with the coveted job now firmly within his grasp, dio can no longer suppress the proud smirk that upturns the corners of his lips. he raises his glass of wine for an unspoken toast, savoring one slow, lingering sip.
❝ tell me more about the baroness, if you would be so kind. ❞  he sets the glass aside, turning his attention toward raphael once more.  ❝ when shall i have the privilege to meet her? i’m quite eager to begin our working relationship. ❞
TETSUBO | ONE
Tumblr media
pairing: leonardo hamato x black! fem! reader
word count: 1.3k
warnings: violence, blood, gets a little dark, innuendos, mutation, mutants, happens in the shows timeline but all are aged up 3 years, and sadly April doesn’t exist.
a/n: very much self-insert.
...
"Get back here!" The man shouted as you turned the corner, jumping over the trash can you knocked over.
"You're gonna come back home whether you like it or not!"
"No!" you screamed, turning into the alley way and jumping onto the ladder of a fire escape, climbing up as fast as your little legs could carry you.
Yet another night in your abusive house gone sour.
You, being the little 8 year old you were, had come out your room past your bedtime so your mom could read your nightly bedtime story, and accidentally interrupted your mother's nightly beat down.
A scream and shout later, and you were now running from your father, who would probably drag you back to the apartment to face the same fate.
'Gotta get away!' you frantically thought, grabbing a gutter pipe and sliding down like a fire pole.
You landed on the sidewalk and went right back to running, your dad beginning to catch up.
Turning down another alleyway, you gasped when you saw the dead end, no fire escape or pipe to help you his time.
"There! No more running! Your coming home NOW!" your father growled, slowly approaching you.
"Please! Don't hurt me! I'm sorry, Daddy!" You whimpered, tears pouring down your cheeks as you curled into a ball as he got closer and closer.
Just as he was about to grab you, a football was thrown at his back.
"You leave her alone!" a cracked voice demanded, three other's shouting "Yeah!" in agreement.
You opened your eyes to see four boys that looked a lot like turtles standing at the entrance of the alley, angry.
"Hot Soup!" the blue one smiled, running up to your father and sweeping his feet. The orange one followed suit, doing a somersault and retreating into his shell, his entire weight landing on your dad's stomach, knocking the wind out of him.
He tried sitting up but the red one ran up, punching your dad in the face and knocking him out cold.
You practically had stars in your eyes.
'Who are these guys?'
"Donnie, is he okay?" the red one asked as one with a purple bandana knelt next to your father, taking his pulse.
"Affirmative. He's okay, just asleep," he nodded, adjusting his glasses.
"Good," the red one sighed.
"ARE YOU OKAY?!" the orange one excitedly shouted as he ran up to you, making you wince at the volume.
"Mikey, be quiet," the purple one hushed, shaking his head in embarrassment.
"Are you alright?" the red one asked, slowly walking up to you and offering a hand.
You smiled as you took it, "Yeah, I'm okay. Thanks for helping me."
Once, you stood up, you looked down at his hand to see he only had three fingers. "Whoa!" you marveled. "Are you guys turtles?"
"Yeah! You like it?" the orange one smiled, showing off the stickers he put on his plastron.
The red one sighed, "I supposed we should introduce ourselves. My name is Raphael, but you can call me Raph. The loud one is Mikey, the one with glasses is Donnie, and the one with red stripes is Leo."
"Hey, sweets," Leo winked, flashing you a gap-toothed smirk.
"We're brothers!" Mikey smiled, doing jazz hands.
"And mutants, of the turtle variety," Donnie chimed, proudly.
"Nice to meet you all. My name is (y/n)," you smiled back, waving.
"We better move before the old guy wakes up," Mikey pulled at Raph's shirt, trying to get his attention.
"Right," Raph turned to you, "Do you have somewhere to live? An apartment or somethin'?"
You hung your head, "I do. But that's where my dad'll go back to. And if he finds me.....oh, man." You could already feel the tears coming back.
"Hey! How about you come home with us?" Leo asked with a smile.
"Ar-Are you sure?" you sniffled, lifting your gaze.
"Yeah. What will Dad think when we bring home a random human girl?" Donnie asked, nervous.
"Relaaaaax, DonTron," Leo waved off, walking over and throwing an arm around you shoulder. "I'm sure dad'll be fine with it."
"If you say so," Raph sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. He walked over to a manhole cover and slid it open. He let Donnie and Mikey jump down first, Leo stopping to wink at you before going down after them, and then gave you a warm smile.
"It's alright, we do this all the time," he assured.
You took a deep breath, nodding before you jumped down, landing in Leo's arms.
"Did it hurt?" He asked.
You tilted your head, "Did what hurt?"
"When you fell from heaven~," He smirked, Raph groaning at the line as he landed.
You turned dark red and covered your face with your hands, Leo letting out a triumphant chuckle.
"Shut up, Leo," Donnie sighed, smacking his brother upside the head.
...
As the five of you stepped in front of a projector, your eyes went wide to see a very large rat-man sitting in the recliner.
"Dad, this is (y/n)! Can she live with us?" Mikey bluntly asked, bouncing around with excitement.
He quickly sat up, eyes wide. "Who is this? How did she get here? You boys went up to the surface, didn't you?" the man scolded, his glare intensifying.
Nervous looks stretched across the boys' faces but Raph, being the leader he was, stepped up.
"We found her in an alley, about to be attacked by her dad. She has nowhere else do go," he bowed his head, explaining the situation.
The rat-man sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Come here, child," he called.
You sucked in a deep breath and stepped forward, sweat starting to form on the boys.
"Do you really have nowhere else to go?" he asked, giving you a serious look.
You quietly nodded your head, fidgeting with your fingers.
The man looked like he was thinking, before he caved. "She may stay," he sighed.
"Whoo hoooo!" Leo cheered, running up to you and giving a big bear hug.
"Alright! Hey, hey, Raph! Can I show (y/n) my drawings?" Mikey asked, tugging on Raph's sleeve again.
"Let's help her get settled in first," Raph smiled, patting his little brother on the head.
"I can get Shelldon to help! He may be in beta, but I'm sure he can still lend a hand," Donnie stated, typing something on his tablet.
"Well then what are we waiting for?" Leo smiled, hoisting you up on his shoulder as you laughed, the brothers leading you to your new room.
...
A room decorating party and Lou Jitsu marathon later, it was 1:00 in the morning, and the boys had passed out in your room.
But you still couldn't sleep.
Despite all the tiring things that happened tonight, you still had yet to have your nightly bedtime story read, and you weren't gonna get a minute of sleep without it.
You got out of bed and made your way towards the door, careful to not wake up the brothers, who were strewn around the floor. You grabbed the book, Goodnight Moon, on your way out and turned the corner, remembering the way to the living room.
The rat-man was in still in his recliner, fast asleep as a show with scorpions continued on the projector.
"Sir?" you quietly woke, tugging at the man's sleeve.
"Huh?! Wah? What do you want?" the man quickly woke up, snapping his head over to you.
Without saying anything, you held up the book, and he immediately got the message.
With a sigh, he patted his lap, and you smiled, quickly climbing up and handing over the book, resting your head on his furry chest.
"In that great green room, there was a telephone. And a red balloon. And a picture of-." the man looked down at you, only to see you were already out like a light.
A smile found it's way on his face and he sighed, patting you on the head.
"Good night, child."
Hello! How're you doing? 🥰 I've got an idea: Their S/O can draw very well, and the boys didn't know about that. How would the boys react if they find their S/O's notebook and see her/his art, including a drawing of them?
Thank you 💜
Im okay ^^ hope everythings been alright for you as well, and hope this is alright♡♡♡
Tumblr media
Leo:
He sees your notebook sitting on the couch
But he doesnt remember seeing you come in or leave
He figured you left it accidently
Hes wondered what made you smile whenever he seen your pencil move across the paper
Plenty of times when he was in the dojo training/improving a technique, he saw you sitting with the book in your lap
He knew he shouldnt without your permission (whether youd let him or not), but he wanted to see what artwork his angel has done
Opening the cover he finds sketches of people, Japanese inspired designs, and stops when he sees himself
The way you payed attention to the details of his muscles, scars, the design, dips and curves of his shell was impressive
It looked like he was looking at a black and white picture of himself
A smile spread on his face and warmth spread through his body
"Youre so talented, my love"
Tumblr media
Raph:
The notebook was sitting randomly in the lair
He saw it and figured it was Donnie's or Mikey's
He sighed, a bit annoyed
He knew Splinter or Leo would probably wonder whose it was
So he decided to go put it in one of their rooms
However when he opened the book he saw your name inside
He didnt know whether to just put the notebook down or look through it
Hed be lying if he said he wasnt interested
He had always been wondering what you were doing
He opened the book and turned the pages
He was amazed at the amazing art before him
He never knew you were such an amazing artist
However his heart stopped when he saw a picture you sketched of him
It was pretty detailed
He saw how much effort you put into these, into every piece of art
He couldn't stop smiling
"What did I do to deserve someone as awesome like you, babe?"
Tumblr media
Donnie:
He found your notebook sitting on top of his
He opened the book absent-mindedly looking for a page to write down some formulas/ coding for new computer programs
He was confused for a second
Like "who erased my equations/codes"?
His stomach fluttered
He respects your privacy and closed it
However, he was curious and quickly opened it back up
He hoped curiosity wouldn't get him killed, as the saying goes
He was met with all the sketches and drawings youve done till recently
He admired how you saw the beauty in everything
He felt his heart leap when he saw a drawn portrait of himself
The lines, the colors, everything was mesmerizing
He'd apologize later
But hes glad to have seen your artwork
You are so talented, and your art showed how you was as a person
It made him fall in love with you all over again
With a smile on his face he said:
"My dove, I love you so much, more than you'll ever know"
Tumblr media
Mikey:
He saw it sitting on the kitchen table
You said you needed to use the restroom and hurried
He waited till you were gone and sat down to look inside
He had seen you with that notebook of yours, pencil making light scratching noises
He always asked what you were drawing
It made him feel left out when you didnt tell him or said,"Nothing."
He opened the cover and saw a world of color and shapes
Flowers, dogs, many different kinds of skies
He loved everything he saw
What he saw next made him stop for a second
He saw a picture of himself
He way you drew and colored his eyes, face, scales, everything was flawless
Absolutely beautiful...
It was like he was looking at a reflection of himself
He saw some sketches and studies of different parts of his body
He felt happy to be your muse
"Aw, baby cakes. Your art is beautiful, just like you are"
Red vs Blue -> Chapter 1
NSFW RAPH x OC x LEO
(Finally taking the plunge and posting this here instead of my Wattpad. Hope you guys like it. Its just something I’m working on. More to come. Let me know what you think! And sorry about the formatting. )
Alexis spit what tasted like blood out on the metal floor in front of her. If she was being honest, bondage was nothing new to her. But being beaten mercilessly for information WHILE tied up, was. She felt another punch to her stomach and she tried to double over in pain, but her arms, shackled up and back to the wall made it impossible. Her head hung down and she winced, coughing. This sucked.
"Where." Shredder grabbed her hair in his metal hand. "Are." And then he pulled so her head was jerked up to look at him. "They."
Just as slowly, she sneered, "Fuck. You."
He stared at her, shocked that she said that to him. He pulled her hair so her head hit the concrete behind it. A white flash exploded in her head as she heard a loud crack. The room got quiet for a second. Then she could hear his voice again, but it was muffled, as if she was under water.
"Don't kill her. Yet." He said to one of the faceless ninjas dressed in all black. He bowed his head to his master. "She will tell us.” He stared at her and she stared back. She wanted to hurt him, and she would have tried if her hands and legs were free. "And if she doesn't, they will be here soon enough. They can watch you die."
Fuck. They would come. Leo warned her about this. They all sort of did. She was a weakness of theirs and they could use her to get to them. Alexis always brushed it off thinking the Shredder was gone and she could take care of herself. Yeah, I'm doing a really great job of that, she thought to herself as she dangled there.
She found herself alone, breathing hard. For lack of something to do, and to distract herself from the pain, she decided to take stock of the damage. Well, her head hurt, that wasn't easy to ignore. Concussion was likely. She ran her tongue over her teeth to see if they were all there. So far, so good. Although, her mouth tasted of blood. Her lip was split. She scrunched her nose and felt immediate pain radiate through her forehead and eyes. Okay, broken nose for sure. Her left eye was swollen shut. Black eye, okay. Broken orbital bone perhaps. She tried to take a deep breath and wheezed then coughed. Not sure what that meant. Broken ribs maybe. Her stomach ached and she felt like she was going to throw up. Hopefully there was no internal bleeding. She scanned down her legs. They felt like jelly and she would have collapsed but her wrists hurt in the chains so much, that she did everything she could to stay standing.
The room was bare. Metal floor under her, concrete behind her. It was a large room though. It didn't look like it had any purpose, really, other than torturing someone. Other shackles were on the wall next to her. She winced; it hurt to turn her head, like grinding bone on bone. Maybe I'll die before they get here, she thought. I need to stay alive long enough to warn them it’s a trap. After everything they've done for her, it was her turn to be the hero. They were so stubborn though and probably wouldn't listen to her anyway. First things first. Don't get overwhelmed, she spoke to herself calmly. Just focus on staying awake. All she wanted to do was sleep. It was the only thing close to relief she could feel.
——————————————————————————
No. Something doesn't look right. Leonardo easily hopped through her window into her apartment. The usual immaculate and sophisticated upscale penthouse had been trashed. His breath caught. Her furniture was torn up, papers everywhere. No no no. He ran room to room yelling her name. All the while feeling sick to his stomach. Then he saw it on her bedroom mirror, written with lipstick... her red lipstick he loved so much. It was an address. Leonardo felt his blood freeze in his veins. They had her. They were probably hurting her right now. With shaking hands, he called Donnie.
"Hey, Leo, what's up?' Donatello's voice came through the radio on Leo's shoulder strap.
"He. Has her," Leo said, gritting his teeth. Saying it out loud made it so much more real. His legs felt weak so he sat down on her bed, staring at the message on the mirror.
"Who has who?" Donnie sounded a little distracted. He and Mikey are probably playing video games. Idiots.
"Shredder has Alexis." He blinked a few times trying to shake himself out of it. He was frozen with fear; this was all his fault.
"Wait, what?! Where are you?" He could hear Mikey in the background asking what's going on.
"I'm at her place. Raph knows where it is."
"On our way." Donnie said before hanging up the phone.
Leo continued staring at the address. He couldn't help feeling like he should do more right then; he should be trying to figure out where it is, but all he could do was stare. The thoughts of what they were doing to her made bile rise in his throat. He was paralyzed with fear, yet his mind was racing with memories. When they first met, their first kiss, even last week when he was pissed off after having a fight with Raph and he completely dominated her in bed... the way they both liked... it was just last week... and now he might never see her again... no. He can't think like that.
——————————————————————————-
To stay awake, Alexis tried to think of pleasant things... it was getting harder and harder though. Her wrists were on fire and her legs were giving out. Think of Leo, she said to herself. She thought back to the previous week, the last time they had sex.
I walked into the lair and heard his voice booming, "The only vote that counts in this family is MINE!" He was nose to nose with Raphael. Oh god, not another fight. They both made themselves seem bigger as they squared up. Raphael looked especially wild.
"Uh, hey guysssss." I said, trying to break the tension. Leo looked away first, turning to me. I knew what this meant and clenched my legs together involuntarily. He charged towards me, grabbed me by the wrist and with long, quick strides, led me to his room.
"Get on the bed," he said firmly. I swallowed and did what he said, giddy for the fun to start. He shut and locked his door, and within an instant, he was straddling me. "Hands," his ocean blue eyes burned into me with lust. I offered my hands to him and he wrapped a black silk cloth around them, then, using another black silk cloth, tied them to the head of the bed. "Try to get loose." I struggled and felt how immobile I was now. With a smirk of satisfaction, he got off of me and started fastening my ankles to some sort of pole? This was new. Then he stood back, staring at my body like he was struggling to control himself from pouncing on me. His hand went to his groin, grabbing it and adjusting himself.
Then he took all his gear off. His body, although inhuman, was remarkably sexy and unbelievably ripped. All those hours training paid off and I’m reaping the benefits. He was breathing heavily, and the rise and fall of his chest turned me on. His animalistic desire for me was disarming. I struggled a little, knowing it made him harder, moving my legs against the bar when it opened, spreading them more.
"I was hoping you'd do that," he said hoarsely, eyes half lidded, a dark vivid blue. "It's telescoping. The more you move, the wider it spreads you open for me."
I raked my eyes over him down to his.... it was extended out of his tail and growing. He stalked towards me on the bed, smelling me on his way up, steely eyes never leaving mine. I could feel heat radiating off his body and his hard on grazing my thighs, making me shiver.
"I've had a bad day," he paused. "And I'm going to take it out on you." My breath caught in my throat. He hovered over my mouth. "Do you want that?"
"Yes," I gasped, trying to reach his lips with mine. I loved how he teased me. He bit my neck hard. "Yes, what?"
"Yes, sensei."
"Good girl," he said before kissing me full on the mouth, his tongue rough with mine, as I melted into it. His hands caressed up my tied arms and then back down to my breasts. He lightly teased my nipples, making them hard.
"Fuck," he mumbled into my mouth, before ripping my shirt open. I gasped and arched my back, pressing my breasts into his hands. He didn't usually swear, so when he did... my god it was hot.
"I am going to fuck you so hard," he said before he moved down my body, kissing and licking my stomach.
Alexis was snapped back to reality by the Shredder entering the room with a few of his hooded henchmen.
"They are taking longer than I thought," he said, sternly. She wondered how long she had been hanging there. "Why are they taking so long," he asked, as he ran the tip of one of his hand spikes down her cheek. "No matter, there's interest to be paid." A few of his soldiers came forward to grab her hands and began unshackling them. Normally, she would fight this, but she has no fight left in her. They dragged her over to what appeared to be a metal table with restraints on it. This can't be good, she thought. They fastened the cuffs to her hands and feet so that she was bent over the table. She let out a howl and then panted from the pain. Being moved hurt so bad; of course, they weren't gentle.
Abruptly, her shirt was ripped open from behind. Cool; what the fuck are they going to do to me now, she bristled. She heard a lot of movement behind her and then she felt it – the crack of a whip across her back. No amount of bdsm with Leo could have prepared her for this kind of pain and humiliation. And thinking back to it, if she was to survive this, she didn't think it was going to be a turn on anymore. Sorry, Leo.
The whipping was relentless. Her sense of time was gone and pain was all that was left. Her body unconsciously tried to get away from the stinging whip, but she was trapped where she was. She wasn't sure if she actually stopped crying cause all she heard was ringing.
"This is THEIR fault," Shredder sneered. He grabbed her hair and yanked her head up. "If they cared at all for you, they'd be here."
He slammed her head down on the metal table. She didn't even feel it. The pain was too much. "Chain her against the wall." The men hoisted her up, ripped the rest of her shirt off so only her bra remained... her blue bra – Leo's favorite. She looked down and saw how wet it was from sweat, blood and tears. They slammed her back into the wall, causing her to scream louder than she ever had. Even louder than Leo asked her to when they were-
Shredder looked at the wall clock. "If they are not here in an hour, we break her legs." The men all bowed, and all but two of them left the room.
Her breath was ragged now; her chest aching and her head... holy fuck... her nose was now gushing blood down her chest and the pain made her eyes water. Alexis wanted to see the turtles so badly, but she knew that what would happen to them would be much worse than what was happening to her. She tried to focus on dying. She tried to relax as much as she could, but the pain kept bringing her back to the present. She just wanted to sleep.
"Hey Raph, we need you to take us to Alexis' place," Donnie yelled. The big bara was lifting weights up in the weight room. What the fuck was this about, he wondered. He could hear Mikey getting excited about something, chattering on.
"Why?" He muttered, not even bothering to interrupt his set. Leo could take them there. He was her boyfriend or whatever... which still pissed Raph off and caused him to growl to himself.
"Shredder has her. We have to meet Leo there."
Raph nearly dropped the weight on himself in his haste to put it back on the bench press, and jumped down to the bottom floor with a loud thud.
"WHAT?!" He roared. "How did this happen???" He grabbed his weapons from the weapon wall and slid them in his belt in one swift motion, before rushing to join the others. Fucking Leo, he thought, I knew he couldn’t protect her like I can.
"Where's Leo?" He asked as he met up with Donnie and Mikey who were both gearing up.
"He's at her place.” Donnie glanced over at Raph, repeating what he already said. “We’re meeting him there." After watching him for a second, assessing his breathing and eye movements for stress, he asked softly, “You okay?”
It took a second for Raph to register the words. Jaw slack, he looked up at Donnie and said, “what?”
“Are you okay, Raph,” Donnie asked again, careful not to trigger Mikey’s curiosity.
“I’ll be better once I kill this fuck one and for all.”
Raphael ran faster than he ever had in his life, jumping from building to building without caring if he was seen. He ran faster than he had even back when he was going to see her...
They arrived within minutes. Leo saw them before he heard them. They stood there in her room with him, looking at the mirror. He didn’t even bother to stand.
"How the fuck did this happen, Leo?!" Raph bellowed. He was pissed. And Leo felt that he had every right to be. He hadn't been able to protect her. He didn't have an answer for his hot-headed brother, so he just hung his head. Raph paced the apartment and then punched a wall, causing considerable damage, while yelling obscenities.
Leo stood and felt lightheaded. When Raph saw him move, he squared up to him, glaring into his eyes. Those amber eyes were on fire. Leo had only seen him look at the Shredder that way. Never his brothers. He shook his head, probably too many insults on his tongue.
"This is YOUR fault!" he said firmly, with a quiet rage.
Leo couldn't look him in the eye. "I know," he conceded. It seemed like Raph swelled in size, towering over his older brother and leader.
"Guys, we don't have time for this," Donnie said, while typing in the address into his watch. While avoiding Raph's gaze, Leo noticed Mikey. He was crouched on the floor, eyes red and wide. He looked petrified. And for once he was being quiet.
Instead of backing off, Raph hauled off and punched Leo in the face. Leo took it, not fighting back. Raph grabbed his wrist and twisted it around his back so Leo was face down on her bureau, causing some of her things to fall to the floor and the mirror shake against the wall. Leonardo had never surrendered to an assault like this. He just didn't have the strength to fight it.
“You guys stop it!" Mikey finally yelled from the floor. "We have to find her before-"
"Don't you finish that sentence, Mikey!" Raph boomed, while holding Leo down still. Then he leaned into his brother's ear. "If she's hurt, so help me....!"
"GUYS!" Donnie yelled, his watch projections taking over the room. "She's by the cement yard, across the river. I pulled up the schematics of the building. There's a 89% chance she's in this room here," he pointed with his free hand.
Raph kept pushing Leo face down on the bureau. "What about the other 11%?"
Donnie shrugged, "Maybe the basement? Maybe the roof? It depends on what they are doing to her-". His voice dropped off at the end of the sentence while his eyes darted between his brothers.
"Let's go get her!" Raph ordered determinedly, finally letting his big brother up.
Donnie looked at their leader for guidance, anything at this point... Leo just glanced up at him and nodded silently.
"The fastest way there is through the tunnels under the river," Donnie advised.
"Let's GO!" Raph jumped out the window, not waiting for anyone.
