Probably sounds terrible on my part to have missed this notification but last night I was thinking about a man I briefly dated over 11 years ago. Ongoing Series - Thai

Top Secret Together Ep 2 - pulping it up in the best possible way. Sure sound and production values are pants, and in classic Thai fashion the editing in post is exacerbating (rather than fixing) pacing issues, but it’s still CUTE AF. I don’t even mind the added university storyline, because they’ve got good chemistry (and a confident gay fresher after a panicked gay hazer is an old favorite... what can I say, SOTUS was my first love). We aren’t spending too much time with any one couple, so it’s weighted a lot better than Brothers was, but also character development is slow. 

Siew Sum Noi Ep 2 - Unfortunately, it’s just too hard to find, plus no subs. I’m dropping it in the hopes it comes back on my radar some day. 

Y-Destiny Ep 8 - (Thurs) It’s rough having a ghost boyfriend, half your friends are scared, the other half think you’re crazy, and kissing shortens your lifespan. This was a cute couple even if I wasn’t wild about the surrounding story. 

Close Friend Ep 5: (Dear My Star/JimmyTommy) - about high school penpals. It had to rely entirely on voice over work as the actors only meet face to face at the end. It’s by far my favorite of the series so far, and I’m not even a big JimmyTommy fan. 

Fish Upon The Sky Ep 7 - no subs. Do we care? Not really. Because we have... 

Nitiman Ep 3 - currently my favorite out of Thailand. It’s the university Thai BL i’ve been waiting for since... when was the last good one? My Engineer? Yowza. Ongoing Series - Not Thai

HIStory 4: Close To You (Taiwan) Ep 10 fin - the most ridiculous show using BLs worst tropes in a sort of weird smoothie of bitter greens and too ripe banana. The ending was the sappiest cheesiest thing ever, like cheese syrup tapped from the cheese tree. So of course I loved it, but I’m pretty sure I giggled through all the bits meant to be profound. Because, in the end, to tolerate this show at all, you just can’t take ANY of it seriously. RECOMMENDED (with some SERIOUS reservations and trigger warnings.) Full review here. 

Be Loved in House: I Do (Taiwan) Ep 1-2 - I don’t mind a damaged seme character but this one is a bit weird for me. Like creepy Cheese in the Trap level weird. On the bright side, the story has given our tsundere uke good motivation for his angst and great existing friendships, loyalty, and likability. Plus I’m invested in the cafe owner/innocent puppy side dishes. So if it’s only the seme character I’m not jiving with, and he’s the most established actor, it should all turn out fine. I believe in you, Taiwanese BL. 

Papa & Daddy (Taiwan) Ep 6 fin - speaking of belief. This such a good show but they gave us a cliffhanger ending. Now we must hope against hope for season two. That’s never guaranteed with Taiwan tho. So, I’m docking a few points and saying, RECOMMENDED so long as you realize it’s a cliffhanger. 

Love is Science? (Taiwan) Ep 1-9 (BL subplot) - this is a good het romance, but the fact that the BL subplot is a beautifully acted disaster bi + confident gay means you’re hearing about it whether you want to or not. Plus they just added in some GL! Come on! I gotta support Taiwan normalizing queer to this extent. Once Upon a Time is the BounPrem (og UWMA) anchor story, and seems to be the most dramatic and likely saddest. These two can handle most of what’s thrown at them at this juncture, so it should be good. 

Vs Love is a BoomPeak (og Make it Right) university vehicle. Since I thought Boom was done with our nonsense, I couldn’t be more thrilled and surprised this pair is doing another show together. I don’t think either of them are the greatest actors but I find Peak very endearing and Boom charismatic on screen, so I’ll watch. 

Would You be My Love is the hotly anticipated SantaEarth launch. They’re a (cultivated) IRL ship and Earth is an established BL actor. They have great chemistry and high energy so this could be lots of fun. 

We are also getting a GL from this series from established BL actresses Samantha and Pineare. Nothing teased yet on that, but I’m looking forward to this installment the most. Cheewin is an okay director when he has an actual story to follow. 

Don’t Say No the series. Coming from the producers of TharnType this is the JaFirst vehicle many have been waiting for. Friends to lovers + a good boy/bad boy pairing on a sports romance foundation. It’s basketball so they tapped Meen as well (he’s semi-pro). The bad news? You get one guess as to who is writing the darn thing? Yep it’s MAME. So, ya know, expect some slam dunk kidnapping, a light dribbling of rape, and me turning into a basketcase. AKA... 

Will I have to live blog this series in order to survive it? That seems to be the only way I can. So probably. Which means the bad sports puns will continue. Look, if I’m suffering, SO ARE YOU! 

Rumors of a new YinWar vehicle The Best Story (mini series) coming in July. Also rumors that their previously announced Love Mechanics (full length series) has either been delayed, is facing money issues, or is moving studios, or all three. 

Breaking News 

DELAYED (I’m talking these three off the watch list until we get new airing dates) 

Love Area’s release was pushed out but it got a trailer. 

Golden Blood was supposed to drop Weds but comments in MDL report that it is delayed due to C19.  

Love’s Outlet (Taiwan) is supposed to have started a 50 episode run (only 3-5 min each, what utter nonsense). Sadly, this delay is due to a surge in cases in Taiwan which was doing so well, but also doesn’t have many inoculations. 

Bad Buddy has started workshopping at GMMTV actual. 

Kang Insoo’s BTS for Nobleman Ryu’s Wedding is SO FLIPPING CUTE. You have to watch it. Trust me, I don’t rec behind the scenes stuff often.

Happy Holidays - BTS Style

4. “It’s not much, but it’s ours.”

11. “Ok, you take aisles 5-9, I’ll tackle anyone who gets in your way.”

(Jungkook are Minsuh are soulmates from my series 7 Secrets)

Narrowly avoiding a stray ping pong ball, Minsuh shoots Seohyun a glare. 

“Sorry,” Seohyun mumbles a bit sheepishly, setting up again. “I’ve really got to practice though. Jin’s really good at this.”

Rolling her shoulders, Minsuh grins at her soul sister. “It’ll be the death of you if he wins, won’t it?”

Seohyun shudders. “Don’t say such things.”

The sound of footsteps bounding down the stairs alerts the two girls to their soulmates’ presence. Within a few seconds Jungkook appears, grinning widely when he sees his soulmate’s predicament. 

The second that Yoongi enters the room he groans loudly. 

“Just pretend you didn’t see me, ok? If I play one more game of ping pong I’ll-”

“You don’t want to play with me?” Seohyun gives Yoongi the biggest puppy eyes she can manage. 

Jungkook snickers at Minsuh’s side. “He can’t say no to her.”

Minsuh gives him an incredulous look, nudging his side. “You can’t say no to me either!”

“Oh yeah?” Jungkook levels a glare at her. “Try me.”

“Ok. Kook, can we go shopping tonight?”

Jungkook opens his mouth to speak but stops. “I...are you sure that’s really what you want to do?”

“Yep.”

Sighing, he runs his hands through his hair before turning to go back upstairs. “Let’s go then.”

Giving a triumphant shout, Minsuh takes off after him. “See! You can’t say no!”

“Whatever,” Jungkook grumbles ahead of her. “You played dirty though. No nicknames from now on, ok?”

“Ok Guk.”

About twenty minutes later finds the two of them entering a large department store, the both of them bundled up with the most bland clothes they could find. 

“You really think nobody will recognize you?” Minsuh asks, fiddling with her earmuffs and looking absolutely terrified. Taking her hands in his so as to safe the earmuffs from falling apart, Jungkook gives his soulmate a winning smile.

“Don’t worry, I have a plan. We’ll have to be quick, but you have sharp eyes. You remember exactly what it is that we’re looking for?”

Minsuh gives a firm nod. “Yep. Small dinosaurs with backpacks.”

“Don’t forget, they’re highlighter Dinos.”

Snorting at his serious expression, Minsuh rolls her eyes. “I really don’t understand why-”

Jungkook stops her by squishing her cheeks together. “Min, just trust me. Have I ever let you down before?”

“You’re taking this way too seriously.”

“Answer the question.”

“No, never. In all our long time of knowing each other, I don’t think so.”

“Good,” Jungkook bobs his head before turning and dragging Minsuh behind him like a lost puppy. “Ok, you take aisles 5-9, I’ll tackle anyone who gets in your way.”

“What are you-”

“Go go go!” Jungkook waves his soulmate on and Minsuh, for all her annoyance, jumps into action with a gleeful shriek. 

Doing the best speedwell they can manage, Minsuh keeps her head down even as her eyes rove over the shelves of supplies. They make it through aisles five and six, but have to pause for a while when they get to aisle 7 because they find a tape dispenser in the shape of an otter. 

“Cuuuute,” the two of them coo out at the same time. All it takes is single shared glance before Jungkook grabs it.

“We have to get this now.”

“Obviously.”

It’s at the end of that aisle that they find the dino highlighters, and they do indeed have backpacks on. Minsuh grabs a handful of them.

“Where’s the checkout?” She asks.

“This way,” Jungkook grabs Minsuh’s free hand and they head straight toward the front of the store. When Jungkook comes to a sudden stop, Minsuh narrowly avoids running straight into him. Hissing, she jabs him with a highlighter before seeing what it was that stopped him in his tracks.

The cashier is a girl probably around Minsuh’s age, wearing a Shooky headband. 

“Oh, you are so dead Jeon Jungkook.” Minsuh mutters before shoving her soulmate forward. 

“W-what? What are you doing? Shouldn’t we go to a different line?” Jungkook is looking about frantically, but Minsuh puts her back into it and successfully pushes him forward a few steps. 

“This was your idea in the first place, now deal with the consequences!” Minsuh hisses before handing him the highlighters. “Keys.”

“Have you been working out?” Jungkook asks even as he pouts and hands the keys over. 

“Why?”

“You just manhandled me!” Jungkook exclaims, drawing the attention of a few people. 

“Oh, that’s the ping pong practices Seohyun has been putting me through.” Winking up at him and watching as Jungkook turns an impressive shade of red, Minsuh backs away. “I’ll be waiting out in the car, should I send the bodyguards in?”

“No, I think I’ll be fine with just the one.”

Right, Minsuh forgets that there’s always at least one bodyguard always hovering nearby. With a short wave, she heads back out to the car, but not before she hears the unmistakable squeal of joy from the cashier. 

Instead of driving straight back to the neighborhood, Jungkook makes a stop at the company. 

“I need to show you something,” is all the explanation he provides before hopping out of the car. 

Leading Minsuh inside the building, they head straight for the elevator and Jungkook hits the button for the top floor. 

Wiggling her eyebrows, Minsuh leans into her soulmate. “What’s on the top floor?”

“Just something I thought you might like.”

“Guk it’s not Christmas yet.”

Shrugging, Jungkook gives Minsuh a quick peck on the top of the head, the both of them turning a little red. “Who said it had to be Christmas for me to give you anything?”

The elevator doors open wide and they set off again, Jungkook leading Minsuh to the middle of the hallway before instructing her to close her eyes. 

“Ok, your eyes are closed?”

“Mhm.”

“Just take a couple of steps...” taking her elbow, Jungkook gently leads Minsuh into the room he just opened. “And...open.”

Minsuh opens her eyes only to have them grow wide. A large desk sits in the middle of the room, a two comfy swivel chairs behind it. A small bonsai sits in the middle of the desk, which faces a whiteboard. 

There’s a microwave with a huge supply of popcorn and ramen sitting beside it, a couple of blankets, and a plethora of office supplies on the back table. 

Setting up the finishing touches, Jungkook drops the highlighters in a jar filled with pens and pencils, setting the tape dispenser beside it. Turning to look back at his soulmate, he twists with his hands. 

“Ever since we went public, I know you haven’t been able to go to the library to study anymore. Seohyun told me how you had to do everything in the kitchen at your apartment, which I know you’ll say it’s fine, but it’s not.” Jungkook opens up a closet at the back of the room. “I got to convert this room into a study area, just for us. We’re both busy, we’re both trying to get through university...I thought it would be nice to just have a space for the two of us to hole up and study.”

Minsuh doesn’t know what to say, which Jungkook takes as a sign for him to keep talking. Pushing his hair out of his face, he continues. 

“I’m really sorry that you can’t be a normal college student anymore. I know this might not make up for that, this isn’t me trying to fix everything. But I just thought it might help, you know? And this way we can both study and help each other, I can just come right up here to study after work...look, this closet, I was thinking maybe you could put your other school supplies here, you know? Like that one class you’re taking, what’s the name of it-”

“Guk.”

“O-oh, what?”

“I...thank you. I love it.”

“You do?”

Striding forward, the couple meets halfway. Wrapping her arms around his shoulders, Minsuh gives her soulmate a teary smile. “Yeah, I really do. I’ll be here all the time. It’s perfect.”

“Well, you know.” Jungkook has the ghost of a smile as he realizes that he did well. “It’s not much, but it’s ours.”

“Jungkook would you just kiss me already?”

“Is this another test where you tell me that I can’t ever say no to you?”

Rolling her eyes, Minsuh gets up on her tippy toes and ghosts her lips over his. “Do I need to ask again?”

Releasing a breathy laugh, Jungkook proves to her that no, Minsuh never needs to ask twice.

Coolest shit. On the hospital map. It’s a Pyramid Head with shitty aim tbh. I stun him with the pallet near the office, blind him with a Flashlight, and the legit slow-vault the window next to the pallet and use Balanced Landing when falling into the Basement, to make a silent af getaway.(Balanced Landing lessens your stagger when landing, makes you NOT grunt when landing, and gives you a quick burst of speed for running away.)

Got a slugging Wraith after the last Gen popped. Someone already mostly opened a door. I was the first downed near an unopened door. I start recovering because I have Unbreakable. I get up and open the door. This makes him come toward me while the other three are left by the other door which is almost open! I’m distracting the Wraith in the doorway when the other 3 all Unbreakable themselves off the ground at the same time! They were probably swf. We didn’t even get to leave cuz the Killer rage-quit! XD

Had my first shit-ranked match in 2 weeks. Me: Rank 4 Killer: Rank 12 Everyone Else: Rank 20. We only got 2 Gens done before the other three got pwned terribly. And I was like, ‘wouldn’t it be nice if the Hatch spawned in that one corner of the map?’, and I went there, and the Hatch was there! I Escaped!

Got the same Michael 2 matches in a row. He was attempting the Tombstone BS but couldn’t find 2 of us in the first game and the Gens got done too quickly so he rage-quit. 20 minutes later I get into another game and it was him, again, trying the same shit again, and he rage-quit again, because the Gens got done so fast. We powered through Gens despite being Injured and finished #3 and #4 within seconds of each other from different sides of the map. He rage-quit.

Me: *loads into a lobby with a Key already equipped and am ready to be tunneled because of it* Me: *does 2 Gens by myself, does 1 Gen with another person, rescues every other person once, heals every other person once, breaks all 5 Totems, & somehow manages to not be seen by the Killer all match even while hunting ppl down to bring them to the Hatch so we could all leave* Killer: Coward! u did nothing all match! u survivor mains r bad!! Keys need 2 b banned! Me: Big words from some1 with 13K pts less than my 29,394 pts. BTW, I had the most points out of everyone.

Faced a Clown with an Ebony Mori and the fucking bottles that Expose you if you get hit with them. I was a Blendette. He hit me with several bottles before he got a hit in, and the Exposed effect ran out so I was only Injured instead of downed. I ran a distance, saw a running Dwight, and stopped running so his scratch marks would be mistaken for my scratch marks. I then slowly crouched back the way I came, under the Clown’s nose and he didn’t know! Got Healed. Lost him in another Chase. It was funny. We all died but we did get 3 Gens done even with Overcharge and someone always being Hooked. Turned out he was a Twitch streamer doing his last Killer Challenge which was a 4K by any means necessary. The whole match was just him going ‘I want to Hook the Claudette!’ He’d Hooked Feng Min in the Basement and I had followed behind him the entire time. He wasn’t even out of the shack when I saved her and he’s like, ‘wtf, that was so fast, did somebody just follow me down there? I saw no scratch marks!’ And then she runs out and takes a Hit with Borrowed Time, and I Sprint Out and drop shack pallet to avoid getting downed after getting hit with a bottle. This was the first Chase we had and it’s what made him want to Kill me so bad! ‘Of course it’s a fucking Blendette! God dammit!’ XD

So I’m on Midwich and there’s this Gen in this long room on the bottom floor and I was hidden perfectly so when the Huntress came in, she only saw the Meg. I stopped working on it when Meg ran, so the Killer wouldn’t be notified of my presence. Meg proceeded to run her around that one room alone, ducking under Hatchets and never throwing the pallet down. So I decided to Gen-tap. Basically quickly hitting R2(Toolbox) over and over because there are no sounds beyond the loud cylinders moving. Usually you’d hear the mechanical parts cranking and turning but Gen-tapping eliminates that bit so I Gen-tapped while Meg ran the Killer around, and finished the Gen right in front of the Killer. She stopped what she was doing, turned to look at the Gen where I was still hidden because of how it was situated near the wall, and then rage-quit! XD

Got a Challenge to get 10 Great Skill Checks and decided to use This Is Not Happening which widens the Great Skill Check Zone by 30%. But you have to be injured to use it, so I used No Mither cuz I didn’t want to find the Killer just to get hurt. I Escaped with 19K pts, which was more than the Killer. It was a Twitch streamer using Ghost Face. Got to his stream in time to hear him question why I was using This Is Not Happening instead of Resilience. Sent him a “GG” and a Follow and he asked if I was the No Mither player. Told him about the Challenge I was doing and why I made those Perk choices and he told me it was smart considering the the details and adding Iron Will to No Mither(cuz it only lessens your pained cries by 50%) was genius since I was dead quiet and he only found me once all match! ^-^ 

I have a little spot I like to hide in on the Nurse and Clown maps. Sometimes Totems spawn in them. The fallen debris hides Claudette perfectly so I went to check for a Totem since another Claudette took the one I wanted earlier, and got glitched into a hole! I was there long enough to waste 5 Sprint Bursts trying to get out! And since it causes Exhaustion for 40 seconds, I was stuck for 3 ½ minutes! Freddy found me after hearing the crows I collected, took pity upon me, and downed me to get me out. He then let me wiggle off, so I gave him my Toolbox as thanks and he even refused to Hook me when I pointed to a Hook. Nice guy. Gave him a thumbs up. :) Gween Tea, wherever you at, TY.

Crystal: I do that every night. All the time.. you haven't done a single thing. I mean, Fred helps me explore sometimes, you just sit around, and yet YOU'RE the one who's tired?

Fred: actually, I'ma crash too see ya!

Crystal: wait what? oh come on! Fine I'll do everything by myself... Ok I guess I gotta update the log first and call group 1 at the base to say we have to delay the trip. Oh well.

Crystal: This is crystal from group 2 and we need to delay the trip to the top of the mountain, we have been hit with a snowstorm. Let's say.. 2 more days?... Wait.. you there? Hellooooo? *Phone stops* the phone lines must be damaged, that's gonna take some time to repair, guess I should write things down now.. but where's my pen!?! Or my journal?? Oh crap.. they might be in the other building.. it's night.. uggfhh

Alright I'm ready to go, let's do this.

So... Cold... I think.. the buildings over.. here? There it is!!

Fred: *yawns* whew. Nice night. Though I'm still sorta tired so that sucks.

Jeremy: *yawns too* me too.. i think I only got a bit of sleep.. I couldn't sleep. HEY CRYSTAL CAN YOU BRING ME A DRINK OR SOMETHING? LIKE A PEPSY OR AN MT. DOO? *Silence*

Well you could just say no instead of ignoring me ya butt. Heh. Don't worry I'm getting up to get it.. you there? Fred look at this, she's gone!

Fred: what? She's probs sleeping In the writing room.

Fred: looks like the storm mostly passed, get your coat though.

Entry 17: a snowstorm hit today while we tried to go to the top of the mountain, the phone lines are down, why are we studying this place anyway? It's just a dumb mountain that 2 people got lost on.

Jeremy: weird.. WAIT A SEC IS *THAT* BLOOD?

Fred: that time it seems you are correct. What the fuck happened here? It seems there's a trail of footprints and blood that way, well, less footprints and more just.. tracks.. I can't tell what might have made them. let's go, we gotta find out what happend.

Jeremy: are you kidding? Like every horror movie ever we FOLLOW the monster?!

Fred: it's not a monster.. some animal might have scared her and made her drop her journal and run or something.

Jeremy: fine but if we die bc of you I will kick your ghost ass.

*2 hours later*

Fred: let's set up some sorta camp. Luckily I brought food from the main base, so no death from starvation. And also I brought 2 tents. I came prepared.

Jeremy: what about things to make a campfire?

Fred: ....... Fuck.

Jeremy: we won't die luckily, but that sucks. Let's set up the camp here, there is a clear area over there.

*26 mins later*

Fred: well that should be good, food is outside due to oh having 2 tents.. that sucks, but there are very few animals in this cold so it should be good. Let's go to sleep.

*6 hours pass*

*metallic crunching and banging*

Fred: you hear that germ? Something is outside!

Jeremy: hecc no I'm staying in the tent, you go outside and kill yourself.

Fred: fine. I don't want this animal eating our food!

*footsteps*

Jeremy: ok well now I HAVE to check on him

Heck it almost bit off my leg and it ate almost all our food! We got a few meals worth left. We gotta pack that up and get going. We must follow the trail more no matter what it takes.

Jeremy: good to hear your ok, bud. But we cant go, you can barely walk!

Fred: WE NEED TO SAVE CRYSTAL BEFORE THAT MONSTER DOES MORE TO HER! If your not going I am. I can still sorta wal- *trip* ow.. I'm going.

Jeremy: fine. Atleast let me help you. *More footsteps*

Jeremy: we are going nowhere and you need rest

Fred: we are going somewhere and no I don't. Speaking of what's that in the distance? Looks like a abandoned building. It would be warmer there then anywhere else, I bet that's the monsters hide out.

Jeremy: there are broken windows and papers surrounding it. It's a abandoned research building. The research team went missing studying this Mountain I bet! But they hired ANOTHER research team to discover a missing research team?! How stupid IS group 1?

Jeremy: well we are here. I doubt we should go in the main entrance. We should probably climb through a window.

*breaking glass and a plop*

Fred: I'm in. Now to find crystal.. how many hallways *are* there In this building? It's like its one gaint room with a buncha walls slapped randomly everywhere- come look germ! Come look! It's crystal! I think she was hurt!

Jeremy: ya think?

Fred: well, let's get her outa-

*growls*

Fred: germ... Run... I'll get crystal.

Jeremy: no. For once I don't wanna be the guy that doesn't do anything. For once I want to help people. I'll fend it off. I think i know where it is.

*Jeremy picks up a sharp piece of glass as a weapon*

*footsteps*

Fred: alright. Good for him. Now I gotta pick her up and *OWW* oh yea my leg... Who cares

Fred: ok. I gotcha. Now we gotta go through the front... or not..

*infront of him is a gigantic wolf about 5 - 6 feet tall, growling at him*

Fred: looks like they researched that thing. The creature is called todeshund.

To-a-shund... Well, let's go help crystal.. speaking of thanks for saving me, Jeremy, I guess your not so lazy after all!

Jeremy: no problem, it means alot. *He smiles*

Jeremy: we are here! Whew.. let's get crystal bandaged up in our bed... It's the softest place.

*5 mins later*

Crystal: HH! wait wha- where am I? Where did the big wolf go? Why am I back at the base?

Jeremy: we saved you from it, i stabbed it with a shard of glass. It's called a todeshund.

Crystal: you killed it?! Awesome!

Fred: not really.. it's still out there.. somewhere...

The Reylo Kiss doesn’t fit where it was placed in “Farewell”

 If you didnt know, “Farewell” is the track on TROS soundtrack in which Ben climbs out of the pit and brings Rey to back to life, they share a kiss, and Ben d*es.

I think it’s safe to say that this 5 min 14 sec song was cut short when we saw it onscreen. Because Ben d*es at around 3:18, then a few seconds later the scene has changed and a different score is playing.

Now onto the topic itself. In the movie, Rey and Ben finally lock lips at around 2:54. It took me a few minutes of going back and forth between the song and movie clips to figure out when exactly it was, which irks me. I know how godlike John Williams is with music, and I know how he approaches romance. More specifically, in Star Wars

When Han and Leia kiss for the first time, their love theme instantly swells (V: ESB, “Han Solo and the Princess” at 1:15). When Anakin and Padme admit their love in the arena and kiss, their love theme crescendos seconds later (II: AOTC, “Love Pledge and the Arena” 1:12 - 1:27). We got another kiss in Episode IX, but no swell! It was really awkwardly placed between two dynamic shifts in the tone, Rey’s revival and then Ben’s d**th. This made it feel sudden, out of place. Like it was an afterthought.

But it wasn’t supposed to be an afterthought. In the minutes leading up to this scene we saw Ben doing one heroic thing after another to help save Rey. They shared a very tender, though wordless force-skype. After all these acts of love, it would make sense that the movie is going to be building up to the Victory Kiss. It would make sense that the music reflects that rise in tension and anticipation. Ergo, John Williams would have given us his signature Kiss Climax.

And he actually might have. There is a very triumphant, victorious climax of the Rise of Skywalker theme heard at 4:19 in “Farewell”. It kicks off the longest section of the song, a section that we NEVER heard in the theaters. Williams never writes to the movie, he writes to the screenplay. There had to have been something spectacular in there that never made it to the final cut.

This would mean, though, that the scene was much longer, and probably much different. But music, as we all know, tells a story with emotions. We hear Rey’s theme but it’s sad: Rey is dead or hurt. We hear Kylo’s theme but lighter and quicker: it’s Ben Solo and he’s running. Et cetera. Using my intuition, and my vague knowledge of music theory, I figured out an order of events that closer fits the sounds we hear.

Basically everything is the same until Rey wakes up. She’s barely sat up when Ben then falls back, dead. She is shocked and distraught, not knowing what to do. Meanwhile, Leia’s body fades into the Force. However it’s done, it is made clear that she did it to bring him back to life. Ben’s eyes start to flutter open. Rey can’t believe what she’s seeing. He sits up slowly and they are eye-fucking like crazy. He realizes that he’s not dead and they start getting closer. Rey says her “Ben :)” line here. Closer... They’re holding each other, she caresses his face, and he hers. They are so close now.

Then Rey crashes into his lips as they wrap into each other’s arms. We’ve waited 4 years and they are making up for lost time. It is the most beautiful moment in modern cinema. Now they are talking and talking. All the emotions come out. They are both crying. All the jedi force ghosts show up and they are crying. The cameraman is crying. The audience is crying. The song ends with Luke fading away saying, “TFWBWYA” or some cheesy shit and Rey and Ben walk out of that shithole hand-in-hand

If Ben was meant to die the whole time, that’s fine too. There’s still a kiss, just force ghosty this time. Either way we all feel like our hearts are raw and we are LOVING it.

Confessions of Binx’s Medical Emergency

Friday night we went to bed and I woke to a horrific scene where vomit puddles everywhere and a very scared cat unable to pee despite continual non stop tries on l’y resulting in one foam puddle and lots of little droplets everywhere. My fur baby of 11 years was in

meidical crisis that was if left untreated more hours would be fatal.

The first place was now in reflection all about greed to get as much of your money as possible without best interest of animals in mind. Before anything they drugged him up to relieve pain and my cat came back into me unresponsive and rag doll limp appearing dead I totally lost it as I held him and knowing I had to leave him to possibly never wake from anesthesia.

So after overdose of medicine for profit and doing anesthesia when I later learned could of just sedated to place catheter, also tried to force me to fix him. He is 11 years old and I made a decision not to after lots of reasearch years ago. I hate how they can never respect that when I take him in for any vaccinations or care. The vet called me and for 15 min. I had to tell her no do not fix him while he is already under for the catheter. How cruel to ever consider doing such a thing when it is the same region he was already having critical problems with. Then the vet called again starting with “ Binx is okay...” only for her to then tell me he needs surgery and it would be $6000 for just that or I have to decide to kill him and had an hour to decide and call back. I went full on hysterical. How dare I have to be told kill an otherwise totally healthy animal because I don’t have that kind of money. I had already made sure with bloodwork his kidneys were healthy and it was solely the bladder only involved. As I applied for credit pet care and denied on all due to no credit history I called my parents to help me find a solution.

My mother then called and basically said we don’t have that and we will not put him down. We figured get through weekend having him stay at the hospital monitored and take him to his usual vet on Monday.... the vet then in a bitch remark mentioned another location I could try to call for a better price. So we called over and they gave me an estimate of $1300. Mind you I had already signed over $1800 to the first ER who has given me a hellish time to refund some of that since he did not stay in their care the full 24hrs i paid for.

The second place isn’t an ER but was open on a Sunday amazingly. I asked if they had any appointments and after telling the situation they squeezed me in at opening 8am and a surgery for later in the day.

Got him that next morning. The poor baby was barely alert or moving. My cat I have had since there was still baby teeth in his skull was silent for the first time ever in his life and barely breathing or opening eyes. They did the surgery successfully. In there found the bladder full of stones and blood clots and it clear the bladder lining extreme thickening which means it was going on for a long time. They did confirm with X-ray that they got them all and now it’s all a wait and pray to recover.

He had a low temperature that was not raising and was not alert and responsive as they had expected. It was enough to have then put in for a transfer to the place they had a agreement with to watch pets who need monitored overnight during the hours the place is closed. So I had to go get my cat take him to another city and then return to get him before 9am the next day to take him back. Mind you I don’t drive so this only makes this all the more complicated. He was breathing so faint I only could tell from a hand on his body. His head tilted up in the back corner facing away the whole ride over to the night monitor location was deeply troubling. I told him he has to fight to recover and cannot give up and leave me alone. We aren’t quitters so don’t he dare we are survivors and he will get through this we have faced so much worse and wound up okay.

He finally was alert this morning when I got him. Stood up even in this box and was checked back into the place of surgery. He was much more aware but still blood in urine. Got to go before they closed up for the night to visit. Standing on my toes reaching to the back of these cages my arms barely able to reach let alone to avoid bowls of water and food to do so when the bottom of cage is at my eye level. He finally let out a meow when I first was there which he hadn’t made a sound since the day before on Friday when he had fallen asleep as always in my arms.

My apt is eerily quiet to where silence is deafening and without him I can’t begin to fall asleep despite the fact I last slept was that Friday late evening. They will probably keep him until his catheter does not have blood in urine and remove it. Then monitor another day before sending him home with medication and a new diet to follow for the remainder of his life that will be more expensive of course. I inquired I am looking at three liquid medications and one pill to be administered once he is back home.

They have him on fluids so he is all swelled up from them but he is coming around slowly. His fiesty self is back and was told at the clinic he anytime out on the table waves the paw with the iv on at them to try to get them to take it out hah. I literally lost my female when she was just 23 days into her 10th year. So I held my breath this whole 10th year with him terrified and had only just relaxed a bit in January as he turned 11 to then be hit with this out of nowhere. He had no signs up until last week and then Saturday unable to urinate at all trying nonstop without success.

This has been emotionally exhausting and quite stressful. Not to mention I’m now more broke then ever using the last of money from a small settlement that took over 5 years to obtain from being run over walking in a crosswalk at 16 the first night of summer prior to my senior high school year. Guess that brain damage was worth it to have ability to save him... hah.

He literally is the last piece of happy memories I have to countless friends I have buried in the past 6 years. He has given me a reason to stay alive and got through so much together. Truly this cat tried to even stop me from being robbed. He is my protector well he tries anyways. My date when I get ghosted. My wake up call. My chatterbox to always tell me what is on his mind and give me a piece of it. Demanding yet sometimes in my best interest like when I really need to go to bed and he demands we do so. My cuddle bug that took place of my childhood stuffed bear in my arms at night to sleep. My little fashionista strutting around in his little shirts he adores wearing. I cannot imagine losing him right now and not when it was not doomed to reoccurrence let alone fully healthy otherwise.

If you pray please keep him in your prayers. He is not out of the woods and it’s going to be a long week. Pray I have the strength to keep going and hold my emotional basket case self together for him to give the best care possible. He came into my life when I was trying to relearn how to do everything and have coping skills because my brain was no longer able to work how it did prior to the accident. He came when I was so alone and no one asked me to my senior formal dances and let me cry until he was fur soaked tears. He makes every day one that I get to smile and this apartment be full as if there was more then one human. Truly this main man of my house just happens to walk on all fours that left pawprints on my soul that is priceless enough to put all I had into his best interest of care. I love my Binx he deserves to live when he is still so much alive and has so much more love to extend

Update : 8am got a call he was not doing great still more blood then they would of expected in urine and was an unhappy kitty who would bat at the vet techs and not let anyone pet him. Not eating or drinking enough and probably going to need to stay a day or more longer in the Hospital then expected. He is very much attatched so I made the trip to go visit him this time I asked for a stool to stand on to not need to stand on my toes to reach him in the back of this high row of cages.

My visit apparently made a world of difference and he was more his old self even got some meows out of him! I was so happy to see him more himself and he even by the time I left after spending close to two or more hours visiting had less blood in his urine. parents were very well known ceos, both running very successful corporations.

and of course, they wanted sangjun to follow in their footsteps.

parents were pretty strict and didn’t really allow him to do well.. anything.

however, they did buy him whatever he wanted and spoiled him in that way.

and due to both of those things combined, he started to rebel at a really young age. ( i’m talking like 10 )

so he’d sneak out, graffiti people’s houses and break things and the likes.

never got caught for it, though, knowing that if he did his parents would have kicked him out and probably disowned him for his behavior.

but one of the reasons he never got caught being a rebel was the fact he was bringing straight a’s in school, was always the very top of his class and from his parent’s perspective? he was a model child.

however, he hated that, hated having to live under his parent’s shadows and be this cookie-cutter version of himself they wanted him so desperately to be.

but he played it off, juggling the 'angel’ side of him with the rebellious tendencies that continued to grow worse and worse with each passing year.

god, high school was so different, though. he’d rebel more and more every single day, pushing the limits of getting caught.

however, word got out pretty quickly about just how wealthy his family was and kids started to bully sangjun for it, causing his anger to get the better of him until he lashed out so bad it landed one of those bullies in the hospital for copious amounts of injuries.

his curiosity was lit up that night, eager to figure out what the hell they were talking about and a few days later, he was introduced to a scene that’d become far more intoxicating that anything he’d ever experienced before.

not to mention he was juggling all of that and his acting career all at once, trying to hide certain things from his parents and the rest of the world because he knew it’d ruin his reputation.

however, due to the amount of stress that sat upon sam’s shoulders on a daily basis, he let himself slip up on his 21st birthday, parents stumbling into his apartment only to catch him drunk & high with a bunch of strangers surrounding him.

it was a moment he’d been scared of his whole life, worried his parents would just disown him right then and there...

but in all honesty? it was the most freeing night of sam’s life.

Syd's POV

Should I ignore it? I'm looking at the phone then looking at Erik, Erik is wondering if I'm going to answer it too. Shit! Perfect Timing,Yasin!

"Dios mío!" I spit out in utter frustration! Erik and I were so close to kissing and my body is still coming down from that temporary high and now everything in the universe is coming to interrupt it. Erik walks up behind me with that same look he had in his eyes before our moment was ruined, "You don't have to answer either, you know that right?" His hands found their way around my waist as he took my scent in, once again; I couldn't move. He moved some of my hair out of the way and the lips I've yet to feel on mine, were on my collarbone making a trail up my neck. I started indulging in the moment and then

Damn it! I groaned and slipped away from his embrace. "I have to." I walked to the door facing him with a look of regret. I looked through the peep hole, it was Yasin. "Oh shit!" Your face is red and you feel really hot. Who was at the door?" "Yasin." I say, gulping a few sips of water. Erik stands up and walks to the door, "That was him calling too?" I followed close behind him, "Yes. Look I don't want you two to--" Erik stops walking and I bump into him, which interrupted my call for peace. "I'm going back to Zig's. Yani was rushing to Syd's apartment; Almost running into her neighbor preparing for his morning run. This was there first and only run in with each other. "Oh, I'm sorry mama." Yani rolled her eyes, "I'm sure you are, and that's not my name." "My apologies, again." She continued upstairs as he marveled at her figure, "Well you have a good morning, beautiful." I don't remember what time I ended up falling asleep, but I do remember waking up with a crook in my neck that hurt like hell. I didn't get my editing done, and I didn't expect to. I have my third out of four shoots today so I have to hurry up and rush through my morning routine so I can meet Myles at Garvey Park. I check my phone, I got a voicemail from Sin, from last night when I didn't answer the phone. "Hey Syeda, It's Sin. I was stopping by to drop you off some flowers as congratulations on your shoot. I was hoping we could talk since we haven't gotten to since Shad's party. Hit me up when you can, okay? Bye." I can't even focus on the voicemail because Erik's words keep ringing in my head "You let me know when you ready to stop straddling the fence." Damn. I look at the time 8:59AM I rush and grab my laptop to put it in the bag, my chargers, planner, phone, and purse. I swing my door open and immediately see a yellow post-it sticker on it. I grab it and make the five block hike to Garvey park. By the time I cross over the second block, Fredrick Douglass Blvd, I decided to open the post-it note I have crumbled in my hand.

Ok, so it was quick to review and comment on all Kdramas I’ve watched because I’ve only fully watched 10. I have hover watched 22 in total, but the remaining 12 I’ve only watched halfway or a 3rd of the way.

This can be explained by my very low attention span and also by the fact that I’m a boring person who only likes romance and uses Kdrama to rub my itch for cheesiness. As such I usually stop after the romance gets resolved and at the first signs of the final Drama™. Or the romance wasn’t interesting enough so I just lost interest.

I will then be reviewing the 10 dramas I’ve watched completely, which are all good and that I like otherwise I wouldn’t have watched ‘til the end. Then I’ll give a quick look on the ones I haven’t watched ‘til the end cause you might like them. I’ll also tell which ones I want to watch, and give you some nimes of popular dramas that look kinda cool but probably won’t retain my interest. Also tell you about the 4 korean movies I’ve actually watched rofl

Part 1 : The good (aka. Things I could watch all the way)

Loosely ranked, but the last 5 are my absolute favourites and I wouldn’t really be able to rank them from 1st to 5th. Chief Kim isn’t in there although I love it because it’s not as deep.

Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo

About a collegiate weightlifting student (Kim Bok Joo, played by Lee Sung Kyung who is ♥ ♥ ♥) and a collegiate swimmer (I only remember two names in that drama, not his lol. The actor is Nam Joo Hyuk and he’s also bae). It’s kind of a slice-of-life show, but it follows their struggle both as athletes and as people. Deals with eating disorders in a pretty underwhelming manner. There’s also my wife in it, Lee Joo Young who plays Bok Joo’s best friend, Sun Ok (the only other name I remember). While it was funny and heartwarming, and the characters were interesting, it was lot of drama on top of drama, and miscommunication and lies are often used as plot devices (it is VERY often the case in kdramas I’ve noticed) and that’s just annoying to me. I basically sped through the last 4 episodes cause I just wanted to be done with it. It was very popular though, and it’sstill a good watch.

Love in the Moonlight

It starts with my favourite plot: a girl who has to dress up as a man. It also has my least favourite plot point: main guy has a gay scare because he thinks girl he likes is a man. But that’s just me. The heroine dresses up as a guy and finds herself enrolled as a eunuch in the palace, where she starts serving the prince. Shit happens and there’s stuff about rebels and all. I wasn’t really paying attention. I think it’s visually lovely, there lots of beautiful scenes. It also has Kwak Dong Yeon who’s one of my fav. I mean. Get a load of this :

How was he not the protag ? Anyway, it’s a nice watch but like a lot of other dramas I think it suffers from unbalanced pacing. The change of tone from the last arc compared to the beginning of the show is also kind of disturbing. The thing is, when you start watching a sweet romance thing with light themes you’re not really in the mood for a heavy political/action plotline by the end, you know ? I rushed through the last episodes cause I just didn’t give a crap lol

Witch’s Court

We’re getting to the good stuff. I didn’t even have to take a break before watching the end of that one !

Yi-Deum is a prosecutor. She’s a selfish and ambitious woman who would do anything to get ahead. But one day she does like one good moral choice and it leads to her being demoted to a new unit which deals in sex crime. As such the show is pretty heavy, but I thought it handled the themes pretty well. She becomes partnered with a newbie who’s a former psychologist. Her mom also disappeared when she was like 16 so that’s something.

Although there are overarching plots, it’s usually a one cas per episode/2 episodes type of deal, which I think helps to keep a balanced pace, while not undermining character developpment.

Character development is HUGE in this show by the way. Cause Yi Deum is a BITCH. And when I say that I don’t mean “Booohoooo she’s mean to the cute guy :’(” no I mean she’s a heartless money grabber with no morals and no empathy AT ALL. Even when she does something good, she does it in a “bad” way. So it’s really enjoyable to see her slooow progress towards being a worthy protagonist. Love her.

You know, Take On Me’s music video ? Yeah.

Oh Yeon Joo is an intern in surgery, and the daughter of the famous author of the webcomic W, which tells the story of Kang Chul, a prodigy olympic shooter who was wrongly accused of the murder of his family and turned a new leaf after being proven innocent. He then became a millionaire by creating a crime solving network channel and he catches bad guys yada yada yada. Anyway, he’s not the real star of the show, Yeon Joo is. One day, the two world start overlapping as the forces of two different creative minds collide.

I have found that Korean Dramas are really good with mind bending concepts, and they make for very smart and thought provoking plot points. I watched this with my best friend who got me into Kdramas (it was the secon drama I watched). My friend and I thought the ending was very disappointing though, but I’d say the journey is worth the mediocre destination, and well, opinions might differ.

Yeon Joo carries the show. She’s one of the greatest heroine I’ve ever seen. She’s smart, brave, resourceful. She’s not a ditz but she still retains a girly charm, and she’s got such a strong spirit. It’s a delight to see her and Kang Chul interact, mainly because they’re on equal grounds most of the time. She doesn’t let herself be intimidated by him at all, and she saves his ass as much (if not more) as he saves hers.

Also her and Lee Jong Suk are so fucking hot like omg what a power couple. The good thing is that they are always honest with each other. Because of the fact that the comic is a thing, there is no reason to lie, and even when it’s not because of the comics they remain truthful with each other and I don’t remember miscommunication ever being used as a plot device.

Chief Kim

This one is not about romance at all, it’s about accounting and frauds. It’s hilarious. Kim Sung Ryung is a small time accountants, expert swindler, who works for small town mafiosos. He manages, somehow, to get hired as the director of the accounting department of a large company after the former attempted suicide and ended up in a coma. At the same time, former prosecutor Seo Yool (played by my ABSOLUTE FAVE OF ALL TIMES LEE JUNHO), specialising in frauds, start working as a director at the company, ready to cover all the dark dealings of the company, despite accountant Yoon Ha-Kyung’s effort to uncover the truth behind the suicide attempt. 

How does something about accounting manages to be so funny and still full of suspence ? This got me on the edge of my seat all the way through, and still managed to make me laugh my ass off. The acting can be a bit over the top sometimes, as it is still a comedy show, but Junho and Namgung Min are incredible as a duo. It’s very rare to see a friendship or rivalry take the center of a show instead of a romantic one but their interactions are always so fun to watch. 

I really liked it, I don’t know... I like office stories. The female lead is super cool. She’s smart, level headed, soft hearted, empathetic, and her friendship with Sung Ryung is the kind you rarely see in dramas. 

Page Turner

The shortest drama on the list. It’s only 3 episodes long and IT SHOULD BE LONGER. 

Yoon Yoo Seul is the daughter of a piano teacher, and attends a musical high school. She’s a prodigy pianist rivaled only by her mother’s former student Seo Jin Mok, a rich spoiled brat who hates Yoo Seul bc she’s just that good. Because of an accident, Yoo Seul may have to give up on her mother’s dream of her becoming a famous pianist. Meanwhile, promising athlete Cha Sik faces the same situation and gives up on ever becoming a professional athlete, but he starts considering the piano instead, although he’s never touched a piano ever in his life.

It’s heartwarming, it’s beautiful, it’s raw and soft and it’s hopeful. It’s short so I can’t say much without spoiling stuff but if you need to watch something, watch this. 

While You Were Sleeping

Lee Jong Suk always has good romances. 

Nam Hong Joo (Suzy the Bae ♥) has always had dreams where she foresaw the future. She lives with her mom, who runs a pork restaurant. One day, they get new neighboors; Jae Chan, a newly appointed prosecutor, and his younger brother. AAND honestly I won’t say much more than that because the first episode alone is such a RIDE that it would be spoiling it.

The three main characters are AMAZING. They are funny, resourceful, quirky in unexpected ways, honest and good. And because premonition is a thing, lying and miscommunication is rarely used as well ! The characters are honest with each other, and their relationships develops naturally and “organically” without stealing the thunder of the main plot.

As I said in W, they use the concept perfectly and intelligently. It keeps you on edge and you’re excited to see what will happen next. Also, Jae Chan being a prosecutor, there’s a bit of that case-by-case element going on that I like which helps balancing the pace. I watched it in one go and did not even take a break at some point !

Goblin

If you have ever looked at the Kdrama scene, you’ve probably heard of Goblin. That show’s been a huge phenomenon. I’ve seen it referenced in other dramas a lot, and it’s basically become a cult. And it deserves the praise.

When General Kim Shin was slain by the king he was serving, he became Dokkaebi, a powerful and immortal entity which can only be killed by the goblin’s bride.

900 years later, Ji Eun-Tak is a high school student (she’s 19-20, the age at which korean usually finish high school !) with the ability to see ghosts. Her mother died when she was 10. On that night, she met the Grim Reaper.

And as you can expect from me presenting this to you in such a way, Eun Tak is the Goblin’s bride, though she does not know of the duty that comes with that role. 

The show is funny, beautiful, heartwrenching. The characters are PHENOMENAL, and not just the main protagonists, but you’ll see what I mean. The concepts presented in the show are so interesting ! Especially their vison of death, reincarnation, redemption... It’s an incredible and emotional journey all the way. It doesn’t shy away from sadness and tragedy when it is needed or expected (unlike W *cough*)  and yet manages to leave you elated and smiling (through the tears). A classic that you NEED to watch. And that I wanna rewatch too.

Scarlet Heart : Ryeo

I’ve just noticed that my top dramas are all super sad. 

It’s based on a chinese Drama. After a terrible break up that left her in a ditch, emotionally and financially, the heroine almost drowns during an eclipse. She wakes up in the Josen period as Hae Soo, a young lady in waiting to the wife of one of the 8 princes of the kingdom. As she gets accustomed to this new and strange setting, she gets to know the princes, the schemings of the court, the rivalries and the dangers of that period.

Lee Ji Eun (aka IU) is phenomenal. I think this was her second or third role ever, and her first big role and holy crap she is incredible. Her character is just perfect and it’s really great to see her evolve, grow and try to keep up against this cruel time.  I don’t want to say much about it because i really don’t want to spoil anything.

The story spans over like 15 years if I remember correctly. And what might seem like a cutesy quirky romance period drama turns into something darker and heavier while never losing its spark. It will make you cry, but like, in a good way. That was the first drama I watched with my best friend and it’s awesome and now I kind wanna rewatch it.

Just Between Lovers/Rain or Shine

Rain or Shine never pretended to be cute or happy. It deals with trauma and survivor’s guilt, and it also involve disabled characters. Lee Gang Doo (JUNHO!!!!!) and Ha Moon Soo were both involved in the collapse of a shopping center as teenagers. Now grown up, the experience still haunts them and those around them. Now the site of the incident is going to get rebuilt again, and they will have to face their past.

 I binge-watched this so hard I barely slept. The characters are incredibly human and vulnerable. They bare their soul to the viewer in a way that leaves you completely shaken. And yet amidst all that, what I remember from it is softness (and tears, lots of tears). I think Gang Doo is the most outstanding male protagonist of all the dramas I’ve seen. He’s vulnerable, like. SO VULNERABLE. He’s a coward, he cries, he runs away from his problems, he keeps everything to himself. Moon Soo seems like she’s just a quirky shy girl but she turns out to be so strong, she’s the exact opposite of Gang Doo in a way, but somehow they work together so well. 

As a sidenote, I’d like to add something that striked me when I watched it, pleasantly so. The disabled characters are mentionned retain their agency. One of them is an autistic man, although he might seem like he’s infantilized during the series, in the end he still retains his agency as a person and as an adult and I thought that was really great to see, especially in a Korean drama. The other is a paraplegic woman, and she’s incredible. Despite her situation, she isn’t completely desexualised, she still retains romantic and sexual agency and she is also completely independant, as a successful webcomic artist.

I had a hard time deciding between that one, Scarlet Heart and Goblin for my favourite, but I think that one is closer to my heart. It really touched me in a way I didn’t expect, and I felt so close to the characters, because they were so well written.

Part 2: The Bad (aka Not really, I probably just got bored bc of the aformentioned reasons)

A Korean Odyssey (AKA discount Goblin): it’s an interesting take on the tale of the Monkey King. woman sees ghosts, woman meets weird magical entity. There’s someone killing someone else involved. It’s a bit cheesy, it’s kinda funny. I stopped because it was just drama atop drama and quiproquos and “I’m not gonna tell him/her because I wanna protect her/him but that’s just gonna make it worse !!!!” and that sort of stuff. In my mind it was kind of cheap plot devices. Interesting concepts though, and you could definitely make a nice mash-up with Goblin.

Radio Romance: It’s a cute romance, the cast is good, the heroine is cool, the male lead is cute. I was watching it weekly and at some point I just lost interest. I don’t know if I’ll ever finish it. Girl wants to be a writer for the radio, famous actor agrees to hos her show. Drama happens. It’s cute you should watch it if you have a longer attention span than me.

Temperature of Love: Woman meets a guy. She wants to be a writer, he wants to be a chef. One day he disappears, she becomes a writer, he becomes a chef. They meet again. It’s very cheesy, BUT it’s super hot. Yang Se Jong is super cute and he’s really popular atm. I just didn’t care enough to watch completely but I don’t have any real complaint.

Hospital Ship : I ALMOST watched til the end, until there was like a ridiculous plot point because we can’t just let the protags be happy, it needs DRAMA. I love medical dramas. My favourite show is actually Grey’s Anatomy. I love when there are different cases every episode and having the characters try to figure things out. Like, the medical is my favourite part of Medical Dramas, the drama not so much. So I bailed when it was TOO MUCH drama for me. The heroine is cool. It’s a bit on the cheap side, but it has a nice feeling to it.

Doctors : The heroine is a kick ass (litterally), but I didn’t like the romance, and it focused more on the drama than the medical imo. Lots of people like it though, and Park Shin Hye is a phenomenal actress.

School 2017: SCHOOL’S OUT FOREVER. Apparently School 20-- are a popular series and each season as nothing to do with the other. This one was great imo, it adressed the pressure in the korean educational system, the corruption, the privilege of rich students, adult indifference, abuse, bullying... And the main protags are great. The heroine is cute and hilarious and strong willed, the male lead is hot, awkward... I didn’t finish it because ... I don’t know, I just interest. Also... Yeah ok spoiler ! So I learned that there wasn’t actually a kiss between the main couple in the show (which has probably to do with the fact that the actress is an idol. Ugh) and so I was like “UHM WHAT’S THE POINT THEN ???” I’m shallow like that

My Secret Romance: Girl has a one night stand on the beach, leaves the guy naked in a car and bails. 3 years later he’s her boss. It’s hot, but SUPER cheesy and SUPER cheap. Like honestly the only reason I watched it was for the romanc but DAMN BANG SUNG HOON IS SUPER HOOOOOT. But hotness can only keep you going for so long and when the plot devices you would expect in a cinderella story happen you’re just like “ugh bye”.

Ms Perfect: I need to finish it. A mom of 2 gets fired, she learns her husband is cheating on her, the mistress dies mysteriously, and also a weird psycho offers to live in her house. I need to finish it but I guess it just got a little too much for me. There’s Sung Joon in it, he’s really cute, i like him a lot. He’s also in the two next dramas.

Madame Antoine: A woman pretends to be a medium channelling the spirit of Marie-Antoinette and teams up with a psychologist (Sung Joon) who’s also conducting an experiment on her. Cheesy. Not that interesting, but the case they study are interesting sometimes. There’s Hwang Seung Eon in it, she’s super hot.

High Society: Basically about the korean Jet Set. Watched for Sung Joon initially. It’s an older one, and I think it’s a bit tacky. It’s also a lot of clichés, and I don’t like the heroine. I love her best friend though, and her relationship with Sung Joon’s best friend in the show, played by Park Hyung Sik. But yeah, it’s not a high IQ show.

Strong Woman Do Bong Soon: this also has Park Hyung Sik in it. I think he’s really cute. Bong Soon was born with super strength and she wants to work in the video game industry. She meets video game company CEO whatshisname (Park Hyung Sik) and he hires her as his bodyguard and huh stuff happens. It’s cheesy, but somehow super creepy as well cause there’s a serial killer who kidnaps women in it and he’s soooooooooooooooo creepy. But it’s also infuriating cause it’s like “Oh no, a young woman got kidnapped for the fourth time in that area ! *cut to another young woman not giving a shit and walking around that area at night also the police doesn’t patrol the area for some reason*”. It was really popular, but I didn’t really like it.

Tomorrow with you : guys can travel in a few years in time by using the metro, and he tries to set things right using this power. It’s a bit of a mindfuck and it’s kidna complicated to follow. I need to finish it !!!

Hwarang : There is no use watching this. Don’t. The cast is great but that’s just not enough. Terrible pacing, terrible romance, the side characters are way more interesting than the main ones but they get easily sidelined. The pacing is terrible. It has the dumbest death I’ve ever seen, and it was used for shock value.

Shopping King Louie: Fashionista and heir Ji Sung/Louis loses his memory in a failed assassination attempts, and ends up living with country bumpkin Bok Sil, come to Seoul to find her missing brother. I stopped watching in the last lap, basically the final obstacle was showing its head and I was like “yeah that’s enough for me”. It’s really cute. 

I almsot forgot

Hit the top: artist from the early 90s travels in time to 2017 and starts living with a young man who dreams of becoming an idol who is actually his son. Didn’t like the way the romance went. Like. I really was against it. The male lead is annoying. Minjae is better.

Hip Hop Teacher: it got cancelled but FUCK IT WAS USPER GAY IT HAD LEE JOO YOUNG IN IT AS A TERRIBLE MUSIC TEACHER WHO RAPS AT NIGHT AND YURA WAS LIKE jdsiughergegreg there’s only 2 parts but watch them if you can cause it makes my wlw soul live

Part 3: The pretties, aka things I wanna watch

My Mister: just because IUs in it. She looks incredible.

Mr Sunshine: it has Kim Tae Ri !!!! Aka the handmaiden from The Handmaiden !!! It takes place in 19th century Joseon ! It adresses japanese ccupation !!!! Rebel princess !!! Korean victorian drama !!! The hot dad from Memories of the Word is there !!!!

The Great Seducer: Minjae just looks super hot in it idk but I bet he doesn’t get the girl and I’m gonna be mad.

Memory and Wok Of Love cause Junho’s in it lol.

The Ghost Detective, Something in The Rain, cause it jas Lee Joo Young in them

Part 4: Things you might want to watch

These are pretty popular, but I’m not that interested myself, you might like them.

Juggles; office romance, looks kinda steamy, the male lead is super hot

The Bride of Habaek; based on the comic Bride of The Water-god. Reallyyyyyy hot. Has Nam Joo Hyuk in it. IDDK I heard it’s good

Fight for my way: i have no idea what it’s about, but the main characters’ relationship looks cute

Legend of the Blue Sea: modern take on the Little Mermaid. The male lead is a swindler who uses hypnosis, the heroine is funny because she looks very mature and hot but she’s a mess of derp

Descendants of the Sun: it’s about a female doctor who gets sent to Afghanistan I think ?????? Everyone always praises it

Part 5: the movie

Royal Tailor: the tailor of the royal family seeks the help of an innovative tailor who usually works for prostitutes. It’s not a happy movie. Beautiful

Pirates: You wanna see kickass women kick asses ? This is for you. Your more typical martial arts movie

Memories of the sword: If you like women kicking ass too, but you also want to cry. It has Kim Go Eun, and also Junho !!!!! And the guy from Mr. Sunshine. Loved it. But super sad. Not a happy movie at all. But very cool and visually pretty.

The Handmaiden: I mean I don’t even need to explain it. If you haven’t watched it, just know that, as Park Chan Wook movies tend to, it is VERY WEIRD and unsettling. 

The Last Train to Busan: ZOMBIE MOVIES !!!! It has the main actor from Goblin in it !!!! It is super cool because it’s not just “UGH zombiiiies ! Smash heads ! Violence ! Scary ooooh !” it is also a critic on greed and selfishness (and not as something stupid like “yeah zombies are actually a metaphor for consumerism”) it makes you think, it keeps you on edge, it’s not overly scary but it’s still manages to give you good scares and has some very tense moments. LOVE IT.

WOOOOOOOOOH I AM DONE. This took me 3 HOURS TO WRITE can you believe it ??? I hope this was helpful. Don’t take some of my critics to heart, I’m harsh when it comes to that sort of stuff, and very particular. If you need to watch somehting. Go for my top 5 ! but ye, in terms of plot, a quick note: this fic mentions some things that involve events that my friend @fettjango and i have come up with in our own sort of. au i guess you can call it; it also mentions a couple oc’s of theirs as well. long-story-short, their oc Fareema, who at one point worked for the Empire, has offered Leia and the Resistance information on any remaining Imperialists in the galaxy, such as where to find them, and Jey offered to accompany Ezra Bridger on said missions to take down said Imperialists. this fic takes place after the first of those missions. so w/o further adieu, here goes nothing??

Jey-Min Kenobi stood outside the gray stone dwelling that had served as her home for 19 years, the home her uncle, the great Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, had raised her in. But she was not thinking of the Jedi Knight he had revealed himself to be in his later years. She was thinking of the man named Ben, a simple, kind old man who spent his days caring for his late twin sister's daughter and their herd of bantha, and occasionally helping any other locals out of tricky situations should the need arise. She closed her eyes, picturing the door as she last saw it, when they first welcomed Luke Skywalker and a couple of rebel droids into their home, changing both his and her own lives forever. When she opened her eyes again, gazing upon the sight of a door nearly hidden entirely by the sand that had piled up over the past four years, she'd realized the tears had already begun to fall. She thought back to when she had asked her new friend, Ezra Bridger, to take her here and continued to question if this was a good idea or not. He had been fine with making this quick pit stop but had volunteered to stay behind with their ship. Jey thought to herself that he probably didn't care much for this planet's climate, as not many people did. And while that was one of the many things that made this place home, the memories this home held of times and people now long gone made it difficult for her to see it as anything other than a tomb. Not only was Obi-Wan dead, but so was Old Ben. And with him, Jamie Kenobi--a version of herself that had known nothing of Jedi and their lightsabers and their control over the Force. Of their involvement in the Clone Wars and connections to those who created the Empire, who had been in power since she was an infant. The lies told to keep her safe, the people she had never been told about and the legacy they had left behind--a legacy now carried on by a man her own age whom she had always known to be just like her: a simple child of a desert planet with nothing special about them. Jamie Kenobi had never left this home some five years ago. She had died in this very building and Jey-Min had left in her place. And now she was terrified of the ghost of herself she knew to still haunt this place. One last time she thought of going back to Ezra empty-handed before she raised her hands to clear away the sand and opened the door using the Force her uncle so truly valued. As she stepped over the threshold, the ghost of Jamie took over, and she saw the home she always knew. It wasn't the most elaborate or expensive home, but they never needed it to be. Adequately-sized rooms, square windows, round pillars, arched doorways, all made of the same grayish-white stone as the outside; cool the touch and always a welcome respite in the sometimes near-sweltering Tatooine heat. The way she saw it now, things were in their place as she had last saw them, in their proper places all nice and neat and clean. She and her uncle weren't necessarily the meticulous type, but they understood the value of a tidy home in a dust bowl like this. And what would seem to many as old relics or antiques strewn about the place in some sort of decorative manner were almost like treasures to them. Things collected of a time long passed that, perhaps when she was younger, she didn't quite fully appreciate. But as Jey-Min looked through Jamie's eyes, she began to wonder if she and her uncle were actually a part of that collection as well. She noticed the tears flowing more steadily now, though she did not know if they were Jey-Min's or Jamie's. At this point, she didn't even know what she was looking for. Whatever excuse she had told Ezra had since been forgotten; now she just wandered aimlessly from room to room. But the longer she stayed, the weaker Jamie's grip on her became, and she began to see things as Luke had last described them to her. He had come back to their home planet four years ago in search of something; she couldn't remember exactly what for. But one of the stops he made was back here to the old Kenobi family homestead, and it was here where he had ran into the Mandalorian bounty hunter Boba Fett. Luke had described their fight to her in cautious detail, knowing full well she wouldn't have appreciated him unintentionally trashing her childhood home like this. Nor was he prepared for the sudden appearance of sand people, who must've either wanted in on the action or perhaps an easy target for a scavenging run. Either way, as her feet kicked aside bits of rubble and scrap, and as her fingers traced the blaster holes in the walls, she had to fight the growing urge to turn and run. While Jamie's hold on Jey-Min's sight had been released, her presence within the home still remained. Jey-Min would turn at the sound of a young girl giggling and see an afterimage herself being lifted into the air by her uncle, and when she moved into another room, she would see herself again, this time playing with toys that now lay discarded or in pieces on the floor. Eventually it all became too much for her to bear; she raised a hand to cover her mouth and slumped against a wall, slowly sliding down to the floor as she began to openly sob. She wasn't sure how long she had sat there, but eventually she calmed down enough to realize she was in fact alone. No more mirages of small children and dead uncles, of a home still in a functional state. Just a lone Jedi amongst the sand and debris. Her tear-stained face turned slowly as she took everything in one last time, her chest rising then falling with a deep, heavy sigh. 'I shouldn't have come here,' she thought. 'There's nothing left here for me.' Jey-Min finally rose to her feet and made her way back out into the midday Tatooine heat, but as she turned to close the door for the final time, she saw Jamie standing just inside, watching with sad yet angry eyes as her future walk away. But together, the two versions of Obi-Wan's niece raised their hand and wafted it to the side, sealing the entrance for good. Jey half-ran, half-briskly walked back to the ship, eager to get off the planet, as she tried to wipe her face clean with her hands. She knew it was a mess and would certainly give away the emotional ordeal she just went through. And she felt she trusted Ezra (as much as one could after only knowing him for a few days so far), but she wasn't sure if she was ready to explain herself to him just yet. Pausing at the bottom of the loading ramp, she took one last moment to collect herself, but before she could make her way up, she heard the familiar beeping of R8-V2, the Imperial astromech on loan to them by the Chiss woman who started them on these missions to begin with. "Well," Jey sighed, "if everything was alright, I wouldn't look like this, now would I?" She slowly trudged her way up the ramp but still made a point to pat V2 on the head as they beeped a reply, which did make her chuckle. "Yes, I'm sure your 'weird blue mother's stealth tricks' helped out more often than not in these situations, but honestly I'm already such a mess, I'm not sure there's anything that could save me at this point. I'm just too far gone, I'm afraid." Ezra was slouched across the captain's seat when Jey stepped into the bridge. "Oh hey, you're back," he called over a shoulder. "Was starting to worry you'd gotten buried alive in a rogue sand dune or--" He stopped mid-sentence after doing a double-take when he caught sight of her face and scrambled to his feet. "Woah, are you okay? I-Is something wrong; did something happen out there?" The genuine concern in his voice nearly made Jey break down all over again, but she managed to hold most of it back this time. "I'm fine," she lied, raising a hand to stop his advance. "Or, at least I will be. It's just... too many memories.." She shook her head slightly, annoyed with herself as she felt a couple more tears escape. Quickly wiping them away, she tried to laugh it off. "I promise I'm not always like this." "Hey, it's alright," he chuckled a bit awkwardly. "I know it can be.. difficult coming home after a long time being away." "Yeah, it's.. it's cool; I'll be fine, I just.. let's just go; we should report back to Fareema." "Okay, if you're sure." He slid back down into his seat as his co-pilot just nodded, settling down into her own seat, and within moments they had left the surface of the planet, made it up into its atmosphere, and blasted off into hyperspace. They had sat in a somewhat uncomfortable silence for a good while before Ezra felt a pair of eyes seemingly boring into him off to his right. He turned to catch Jey staring at him for what certainly wasn't the first time this mission. "Uh.. you're doing it again," he pointed out when she didn't turn away after being caught. A quiet "Hm?" was the only reply. "Staring at me." "Oh. Sorry." It was almost as if she had been broken out of a trance. "I'm just.. trying to remember your face. Sometimes memories are.. all I have left of some people." "Right... Are you sure you're okay?" Jey took a moment to think about how she wanted to answer, leaning an elbow on one of the arms of her chair and placing a hand on her cheek. "Not even Nara and Dolo were still around," she muttered almost half to herself. "Who?" "A couple of banthas that were part of a small herd my uncle adopted when I was little." She smiled when Ezra laughed in disbelief. "Oh yeah, we had a fair few; those two were the oldest. "There was this one time when I was still quite small and wasn't quite old enough to know not to play with large animals unsupervised, but anyway, that's exactly what I did. I just thought they looked nice and cuddly, like giant, woolly blankets, so one evening I thought to myself 'I'm gonna sleep outside with Dolo and Nara tonight' and I just.. snuggled right up in there with them. And at first, it was pretty great; real cozy, y'know? Until somehow I just sorta. Fell into them. Like I was just lost within the void that was their fur almost instantly. "I didn't panic though, like I had faith that I'd be fine. If anything, I thought it was pretty funny at the time. But then I heard my uncle calling out for me, wondering where I'd run off to. And instead of calling back out to him, I stayed right where I was, all nice and quiet-like. But clearly I wasn't quiet enough; I heard him getting closer to where the herd had settled down for the night, so when I was sure he was standing right next to us, I popped my little hand out and waved at him. And to this very day, I will never forget the sound he made." By this point, Ezra was nearly doubled over with laughter. "That's incredible, holy shit!" "Yeah, we kinda did that a lot to each other; we weren't the most responsible family, got away with a lot of shit. He'd even take me with him when he'd stop by the local cantinas to drink, and at the time I wasn't even in double digits yet age-wise. "Actually, y'know what's funny?" Ezra jumped slightly as Jey continued, and she realized she may've spoken a bit more aggressively than she had intended. "All those times my uncle would stop in to drink? He was a responsible drinker as far as I was aware; either that or he just had a much higher tolerance than most. But I asked him one time why he drank so often and he told me, 'You remember all those stories I told you about your uncle Ani? That's why.'--now it fucking makes sense!" "Uncle Ani; who's that? I didn't know Obi-Wan had a brother." "'Ani' was short for Anakin. As in Anakin Skywalker, his former apprentice. Darth fucking Vader was technically my 'uncle'." Jey took a moment to take in what she just admitted, placing her head into one of her hands. "Gods, I'm really glad I didn't know him growing up; it probably would've made me drink as much as my uncle did." "Yikes, yeah. I had the misfortune of running into him a couple of times, and those certainly weren't.. pleasant experiences..." Another short awkward silence followed, but this time it was V2 who decided to break it. They beeped out a story about a time when their "weird blue mother Fare" climbed up to the top of a stack of crates during a bit of training with her commanding officers when something on the ceiling had caught her attention. Of course V2's punchline to the story was to say she had been "on top of things". This spurred another round of laughter from the two humans, and they then proceeded to swap stories from their youth about momentary lapses of judgement and the like. This lasted all the way until they made it back to their home base, and by the end of their journey, they knew this would be the start of a very interesting partnership.

Upcoming Horror Movies in November 2020: Theaters, Streaming, and VOD

New original films have been popping up via streaming and video-on-demand all throughout the reign of the coronavirus. They continue to do so even as many theaters around the country have re-opened and are doing their best to lure customers back. Some titles are trying their luck with physical theaters first before heading online.

While October predictably saw a glut of horror releases during the lead-up to Halloween, November has a decent share of the scary stuff as well. Horror has historically been a reliable genre both at the box office (under normal circumstances) and in the digital space, so it probably makes sense that even in these compromised times, scary movies are still coming at us hard and fast as we approach Thanksgiving and the year-end holiday season.

Below is a round-up of fresh horror releases arriving either at your local multiplex (and we urge you to keep the risks of going to the theater in mind) or right in your living room. As we’ve noted before, even in decidedly unnerving times, scary movies can still be a hell of a lot of fun — and may actually take your mind off the troubles of the world around you.

Blood Vessel

1945 and a life raft drifts in the North Atlantic, its occupants the survivors of a torpedoed hospital ship who are running out of hope. The arrival of a German minesweeper which at first appears to be deserted looks like it could be their last chance. This comes from director Justin Dix who made half decent action horror Crawlspace, and at first glance it looks like it might just be a Nazi vampire movie.

The Dark and the Wicked

We caught this — the latest film from writer/director Bryan Bertino (The Strangers) — at the online Fantasia Fest last month, where we once again marveled at Bertino’s ability to craft utterly skin-freezing filmmaking. Siblings Louise (Marin Ireland) and Michael (Michael Abbot Jr.) return to their family’s rural farmhouse to help their mother as their comatose father enters his last days, only to encounter a frightening presence. The atmosphere is thick with dread from start to finish, and the images shocking and nightmarish. This genuinely unsettling watch will also show up on Shudder later in the year.

Andrè Øvredal (Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark) directs this thriller, set in a sleepy Norwegian town where an American backpacker is arrested after witnesses claim that a teenager died after touching him. The backpacker warns a local psychologist that he has supernatural powers and that anyone who gets too close to him dies. The psychologist tries to determine the truth: is the stranger a freak of nature, an angry god or a renegade member of the X-Men? Okay, maybe not the last one, but you get the idea. Øvredal returns to his Norwegian roots for this wintry tale starring Nat Wolff (Hereditary).

Kindred

Available in select theaters, on demand and on digital November 6 (US only)

Kindred is being promoted as the debut feature from commercial director Joe Marcantonio, although we’re not sure if that’s supposed to mean something. In any case, the movie is billed as a psychological thriller in which a mother-to-be named Charlotte (Tamara Lawrance) collapses after hearing that her boyfriend has died and wakes up in his family home, where his mother (Fiona Shaw) and stepbrother (Jack Lowden) apparently have plans for both Charlotte and her baby. The trailer hints that something possibly supernatural may be afoot, and looks atmospheric enough to perhaps be worth a watch.

Koko-Di, Koko-Da

Available in Virtual Cinemas on November 6 in Los Angeles, New York and other major cities, with VOD to follow (Out now in the UK on BFIplayer)

We last wrote about this spine-chilling, twisted fairy tale back in September when it came out on VOD in the UK, and we’ve been waiting for an official North American release since it was first bumped back in March. This tale of grief-stricken parents tormented by demonic beings in a forested time loop is opening in “virtual cinemas” — you order tickets online and direct a portion of the sale to your favorite local arthouse cinema or indie chain. It sounds like a great way to support the smaller exhibitors who are hurting as badly as the AMCs and Regals of the world. And the movie is thoroughly unnerving.

Out in theaters November 13

Freaky is the latest concoction from Blumhouse Films and writer/director Christopher Landon, who scored a big hit together with Happy Death Day in 2017. That was a mash-up of Groundhog Day and Scream; this one serves up generous portions of Freaky Friday and Halloween. Kathryn Newton plays Millie, a high schooler who finds herself trading bodies with a hulking serial killer called the Butcher (Vince Vaughn). We’ll see if Landon can skillfully bring the laughs and the scares in equal measure, while playing both a soulless murderer and a teenage girl seems like Vaughn’s biggest stretch yet.

Hotel Lake) is a South Korean horror film about a young woman who confronts a ghost at the hotel in which her mother committed suicide and where her younger brother is now staying. This is the first feature for director Yoon Eun-kyoung, and based on the trailer it looks like it checks off the boxes for good old creepy K-horror.

Leap of Faith: William Friedkin on The Exorcist

Some 43 years after its release, there is still so much to say about The Exorcist. And no one has talked about it more than the film’s director William Friedkin. The latter is the subject of Alexandre O. Philippe’s documentary, which explores “the uncharted depths of William Friedkin’s mind’s eye, the nuances of his filmmaking process, and the mysteries of faith and fate that have shaped his life and filmography.” The Exorcist remains our favorite horror film and we never get tired of watching or learning about it, so we’re looking forward to this — as should all students of horror cinema.

More South Korean fun, this time a monster movie and period piece in which both a plague and a monster are laying waste to a kingdom, with the king bringing his most trusted general out of retirement to get rid of the creature menace at lease. Sounds like a combo of action and monster mayhem with lots of historical flavor, if done right. Woo-sik Choi of Parasite stars along with Hyeri Lee, In-kwon Kim and Myung-Min Kim.

The director and writers of the striking 2018 suspense film Searching return with this Hulu original thriller about a young woman named Chloe (newcomer Kiera Allen) who has been raised in total isolation since birth by her mom Diane (the great Sarah Paulson). Chloe finally begins to learn that there is something unnatural about the way she has grown up, and soon discovers the secrets her mother has been keeping from her. Searching was a terrific little thriller, set completely on computer screens and smartphones, so we’re intrigued to see what this filmmaking team has come up with now.

November 27 (UK Only)

Brandon Cronenberg’s follow up to 2012’s Antiviral is a sci-fi horror thriller which sees a convert corporation develop tech that allows agents to inhabit other people’s bodies and carry out assassinations. Andrea Riseborough stars as the star operative who finds herself getting lost in one of her quarries, while Jennifer Jason Leigh is her handle. Possessor already played the festival circuit and was scheduled for a UK theatrical release at the end of November until a second lockdown was announced. Now the movie will be released on UK Digital Platforms.

Sanders Sides Pokemon AU

This au won't leave me alone so even though I'm not a writer please enjoy some garbled head cannons: Roman -He wants to be THE VERY BEST like no one EVER WAS -On a quest to beat all the gyms and become a Pokemon Master Tm -loves battling newer, stronger opponents -loves his team to death and calls them all his darling babies, but a bit picky about which Pokemon have the honour of being on said team. - his team are all chosen for a combination of fighting power and aesthetic - originally wanted an all fire team (to match his fiery passion) and had to be talked out of it by Logan (it took way too long to convince him that real Pokémon Masters Tm don't get their butts kicked by the first water gym they come across) - tends to loudly announce himself in the third person which can scare off wild Pokemon -low key addicted to Pokémon beauty contests - for ages kept running into this freaky ghost Pokémon kid in the woods but he had always disappeared by the time anyone else showed up. -has decided the fact said kid keeps turning up (and looking all freaky) means that he is his nemesis. no one will agree with him Logan -is on a quest to Understand how Pokémon work -(this is essentially impossible as the majority of Pokemon make no logical sense) -(honestly Logan was the hardest to figure out because I feel like he would genuinely hate living in the Pokemon world? Real world Logan would probably like playing the game from the collecting/ type matching point of view but actually living there would drive him crazy) -(anyway) -ends up deciding that the best way to develop a unified theory of Pokemon is to complete the pokedex -gotta catch em all - has an enormous collection of Pokemon but sends 99% of them straight to Patton and doesn't actually interact with them much beyond cataloguing them -only has a few Pokémon that he keeps with him at all times. Insists this is because they're the most useful and are therefore a logical choice to keep near by (this line of reasoning does not last) -is pretty good at gym battles as he will analyse the type advantages/ disadvantages before hand and assemble a team from his collection that has the highest chance of winning. -tends to panic and fail when faced with a random trainer/wild pokemon which he has no prior data on. This makes Roman laugh. A lot. Team Logince -end up travelling together. It's all Pattons fault. -neither of them are happy about this at first - Logan once caught a caterpie and then 5 min later a metapod saying 'it's more time efficient then training it up to evolve' Roman is morally OUTRAGED and insists on taking it on to prove Logan's methods are bogus - Roman instantly regrets this as he now has his first ugly Pokémon which is also weak AF. Bug Pokémon are so not royalty. - Logan doesn't actually understand what point Roman is trying to prove and just wishes he would do it more quietly -the caterpie's nickname is Beyoncé. -Beyoncé eventually evolves into a beautiful butterfree and Roman is able to use her to win some important battle. Roman learns bug Pokémon can be strong! Logan admits the 'loyalty factor' probably pushed Beyoncé to perform at a higher standard then an equivalent wild butterfree! Roman agrees to work with Logan to teach Beyoncé some useful non offensive moves like sleep powered! Patton nearly goddam cries over this teachable moment! - Roman has passion, strength and the drive to power through any situation. Logan has a map and has actually thought about how to survive in the wilderness. Together they make an awesome team! And Virgil and Patton... I will write about another time!
