hello, hi! its one of your friendly neighborhood est admins, le ( 20, she/her ). i’m disgustingly excited that this is opening again. i can’t wait to write with some new faces, as well as some familiar ones! i’m going to TRY and keep this brief, but if you want to get more in depth with jonas and his life before the yujaen, i have his full biography and statistics linked below, as well as some wanted plots! give this a little like, and i will most definitely be coming to you for some plotting! if you’d like to plot in discord instead, that’s no problem; i’ll be sure to ask since i’m not much of a fan of tumblr ims.

life event summary because bio is long and no one should have to read it: born in yongsa > pretty normal life until parents decided to separate > once the divorce was finalized when he was five, his mom moved herself and her son to florence italy > lived there from five to fifteen > decided to move in with his dad in yongsa for high school > didn’t get the greatest grades > decided against university as a whole > picked up two jobs and moved out of his dad’s house and into the yujaen > here we are.

he’s lived in the yujaen for a little over two years now! he moved in after high school graduation at 19. decided university wasn’t for him, so never even attempted to try. who needs debt.

jonas is someone who goes to bed late and usually wakes up early in the morning for the sake of either of his jobs. not sure how he manages but there’s definitely tons of coffee involved. good luck waking him up on the weekend, though.

he’s stupid. like that’s literally his entire personality.

he works at the yongsa university bookstore, despite not being a student there. he thought it was going to be more of a bookstore than a glorified gift shop with textbooks. see: stupid. his other job is at level up!

loves fantasy. mostly dragon age. anything to remind him of dragon age? good.

he has italian citizenship; acquired when his mother was neutralized through her marriage, when he was still a minor/living with her. at the time, he hadn’t really planned to leave florence. even now, he doesn’t really see himself in korea long term, though it has been six years since he moved back. it might be time to rethink his goals. not that he will, though.

pretty easygoing... 85% of the time you could ask him to do something with you and he’ll just go along with it... WILL ask stupid questions but it won’t stop him from going wherever. most of the time it doesn’t even matter on the level of closeness he has with someone.

aloha everyone \o/ ‘tis i nugget mun ( she/her ; pst/pdt ) and i’m here with my messy girl yoori. i’ll give a good rundown of her past for everyone! and heeere are some connection ideas. if those don’t fit or if you have an idea of where she might fit, please don’t hesitate to hit me up!! 

✂︎ ━━ born in korea to a middle class family, mom constantly gloated to others about how pretty her daughter was and eventually started entering her into child pageants.

✂︎ ━━ yoori was very popular amongst her peers as she was very sociable even from a young age and her eidetic memory helped her in learning new talents for the competitions. she dislikes the whole ordeal of being gussied up and paraded around, preferring running barefoot and getting dirty like any other kid, but she deals with it as best she can.

✂︎ ━━ as she grows up, she discovers the usefulness of the competitions via traveling, scholarship offers and a platform to speak up about her passions. she’s admired for wanting to pursue the medical field and her volunteer work at the hospitals.

✂︎ ━━ her family helps prepare her for college. as part of a deal between her and her mother, she takes a year or so off to focus on competition related events before actually entering into university.

✂︎ ━━ in one of her competitions, she finds out the girl she’s running for top spot against is a hypocrite against the values set by the competition itself but with no actual proof, she knows it would be slander to say anything. more than a little desperate, she sleeps with one of the judges to secure his vote.

✂︎ ━━ she wins and the guilt she feels over cheating succumbs to the more pressing matter of her enjoying the thrill she’d gotten from something so taboo. she does it again and again, even pursuing some of her professors. unlike the first time, she has no motive except enjoying the rush and thrill of the forbidden.

✂︎ ━━ someone manages to get pictures of her and a judge in a compromising position and the video is leaked. the scandal blows up. everything about her wins and even her grades comes into question and eventually, her reputation as the flawless gem of the pageant scene is completely ruined.

✂︎ ━━ her mother is furious, unforgiving of her hard work going to waste. her father is disappointed but pushes her to make the best of it.

✂︎ ━━ with her scholarship rescinded, her peers making crude remarks and leaving messages all over her social media and anywhere else she can see, and the overall ruination before her caused by her own hands, yoori reaches a point she stops caring and starts adopting a more hedonistic attitude. she strengthens the armor of her skin, pretending it’s invincible even when the barbs of her peers’ words still managing to nick her. the hurt is swallowed down like a bitter pill.

✂︎ ━━ the only thing she truly worries about is her schooling, no one taking her serious and still intent on crucifying her but still she persists. she moves to yongsa, somewhere she hopes is a bit more untouched and unaware of her past. she takes up a room at the sharehouse, preferring it over an apartment by herself– new people, new experiences.

✂︎ ━━ people in the city still recognize her. it’s nowhere near as bad as the bigger cities but still, she has to endure the wayward insults and comments, the stares and whispers sent her way when she walks down the halls of the university she’d managed to snag another scholarship at. the price of freedom is never cheap, after all.

born in the states, raised in nz, summers spent in both.

had decent grades growing up but never strived for anything academia related cos she found her talent in music instead. thankful that both of her parents are supportive of her decision to ditch uni and pursue her career in music.

realised she cant be tethered and that manifests in a sort of wanderlust that also fuels her inspiration and muse for songwriting, so she travelled a fair bit, locally and internationally. first proper heartbreak happens in 2016 during her roadtrip across the states and obviously she writes a song about it duh.

began releasing stuff in 2015 on soundcloud then got a spotify deal?? whatever they call it and her popularity grows slowly. has a bunch of collabs and dropped a few Proper singles, though most covers and stuff can be found on her soundcloud.

2019 came around and so did this writers’ block, leading her to yongsa where she’s been for three months ( a record for someone who moves around so much ), just chilling idly and building relationships she’ll eventually forget about.

oh yeah, she’s a kinda flighty person. doesn’t do well with commitment bc of how often she travels and is terrible at maintaining long distance friendships too. kinda sucks bc she tends to be fond of a lot of people she meets 😔

a romantic but also an existentialist,, make it make sense please.

keeps to herself but also quite friendly?? like she’s pretty introverted but is down for a good convo and stuff, even if she doesn’t initiate it often. not exactly mild mannered and can get a bit eccentric sometimes.

feels a Lot, has a Lot of feelings that come through in her songs but never really in her behaviour cos she tends to have a somewhat collected and relaxed demeanour.

he’s a pretty popular twitch streamer and runs a gaming youtube as well that’s gotten quite a bit of subscribers over the years.

he started it up his first year of college, and ended up dropping out a year or so later when it started bringing in a good amount of money. also he was getting kind of tired of college anyways.

still works part-time at the meow parlour as a barista, despite not REALLY needing to at this point, but he likes the kitties.

he’s super into editing and graphic design (that was what he was going to school for before he dropped out), which is why he likes to get pretty creative with the editing of his actual youtube videos, as well as some of the graphics on his twitch account.

his game specialty on youtube is minecraft, with a sprinkle of pubg and sims every now and then to switch it up. and of course various other games that his subscribers request to him.

WILL clean up after himself, but he definitely drags his feet doing it.

her mom fits the tiger mother trope like a glove. she’s very strict and controlled ara for most of her life which eventually made the latter run away.

she was supposed to marry a man she doesn’t know, but on her wedding day, she slipped out and disappeared. it has been a year since then and she prefers to keep this a secret as long as she can. her mother is also fervently searching for her thus she keeps on travelling.

ara is a newcomer and have been around in yongsa for two weeks so far.

she seems like an open book, but its contents are filled with redacted phrases and blurred out words.

she can be boisterous and doesn’t mind to get dirty. however, there are times where she unconsciously shift back to her pristine stature where she is prim and proper especially when she is troubled. this can be considered a rare sight considering the personality she usually show to everyone.

although she is not the type to talk to strangers right off the bat, she remains cordial with everyone and socializes whenever she can.

as a housemate, she can be approached by anyone when they need help and she’ll jump right in to aid them. she was groomed to be the perfect wife, now that’s hopefully out of the window, she can be considered as a great housemate for being responsible in the sharehouse. she’ll cook now and then if everyone pitched in (money is tight yo) and will also clean the common areas whenever she has the time to do so. is she the mom? yeah, she’s probably the mom of the 1st floor molae residents.

she works at the little shop of antiques as a cashier. ara also frequents at volumes cafe, ysa bounty, and yongsa boardwalk and beach.

she’s quite a curious child and if there’s any adventure up for grabs, she’ll be the first in line!

I think I found out about this place just before it closed last time around, so I’m super excited to finally be a part of this group and get to know you all. Yoo Jihoon was born in Daegu, 21st March 1998. He was raised in a single parent household, his father having left before his mother before his birth. Jihoon doesn’t know anything about him and has no desire to find out.

Mother took advantage of the boom in the fashion industry in Daegu at the time, getting a job in a textile manufacturing plant. The pay wasn’t great, but enough to get by.

Really happy go lucky as a child and saw the world through rose tinted glasses as a child. Not so much anymore.

Major financial troubles that he didn’t know about led to them losing the house when he was fifteen, moved in with grandparents.

Started working at night after school to try and be supportive. Mostly retail and service jobs, both of which he hated because people are awful.

Super insecure and covers it up with snark and attitude. Means he never really had that many friends.

Constant fear that those he does let into his inner circle will up and leave him. Not that he’d ever admit it.

Better to just be an asshole and not let anyone into it.

When rushing between jobs one night got caught in a serious traffic accident whilst riding his motorcycle and not paying attention to the road. Lead to the loss of his right leg below the knee.

Uses a prosthetic limb, but covers it whenever possible. Ask him about it and he’ll likely take it off and beat you with it or feed you some ridiculous story.

Basically isolated himself for several months after his recovery and never really went back?

Behind his snark and cynicism he’s actually? Really soft? And would take a bullet for you if you asked him to, even if you’re not close because he wants to be friendly but, remember, people suck.

Gonna complain about it afterwards though.

Extremely loyal. Even if they’re going through a rough patch, he is in their corner if they ever need him.

Really wants friends, but doesn’t know how to friends.

Likes to think he’s punk af

If he feels like he’s being backed into a corner, or otherwise under threat, he lashes out at people indiscriminately

Doesn’t do apologies. The best you’ll get is a “Sorry if you took it the wrong way” but even that is a rarity.

Moved to Yeongsa because there isn’t enough space at his grandparents and he feels guilty about them continuing to home him. Sends most of his spare money back to them.

Currently working as a baker because hey, who knew that he had a knack for baking? And it means he can work nights and not have to deal with the general public.

Only reason he’s at the sharehouse is the cheap cost; doesn’t hate the place as much as he thought he would though.

noh insu was born an only child in jeju-do to working class parents who instilled a sense of hard work into him, though it crumbled during high school and until now, he’d been fairly directionless

he was pulled from public school in 3rd grade while his grandmother pursued homeschooling while his parents worked, but returned to the public school system in 7th grade

insu faced a great deal of bullying during his 7th and 8th grade years before deciding to take matters into his own hands and become one of the people who treated him so badly, and toward the end of 8th grade, he began to act out

only after a suspension for physical violence in the middle of 9th grade did he snap out of his rebellion, taking a step back and assessing his own behavior with the help of a therapist

it took almost the entire school year to get himself to a better place, going to weekly sessions at therapy, and introduced a personality change that he’s worked on maintaining and improving to this day

after graduating high school with better grades and more friends, his memories of being bullied and bullying others were nothing but a dark memory, something he longed to forget, and he made a pact to keep anyone he came in contact with from feeling that low or unwanted

he had a bad habit of sleeping on couches and sailing through life based on making good or powerful friends, but finally longed for a place of his own and decided that settling down in yujaen might be the perfect place for him

his street art is rather well-known though he likes to keep his authorship anonymous, typically taking to beautifying areas with nature or slightly spiritually influenced murals or installations

he’s recently settled down and begun making charms to hang in the wishing forest, selling them to people who wanted a bit more personalization in the wish, things to make their slips of paper stand out

he’s got no formal art training but he prides himself in his artistic ability, though not outwardly. he remains humble in the face of recognition, but likes to draw or paint for people when he gets the time

despite his cool and calm demeanor, he’s a messy person in his own domicile, letting his own negative emotions out in the flow of his space, lacking true organizational skills

anyway onto minah !!! tw for car crash mention, domestic abuse mention & drug use. 

minah was born in new york to emily & ashton da. she has an older brother

her dad was in a band and her mother ran a salon

when she was 13 she got into a car accident that left both of her parents dead, her brother critical injured, and minah clinging onto life

her and her brother were taken in by their maternal grandparents. so a 13 yr old and a 16ish year old moved from america to south korea, poor them

when she was 14 she fell into the wrong crowd and began dating a boy that was a couple of years older than her

by the time she was 16 she moved out of her grandparents house and was living with him in a, to put it nicely, drug den.

this was around the time she started smoking pot, poppin pills (md, lsd, stuff like that)

when she was with him he became more angry, violent and possessive over her. she’d show up to school with bruises and her teachers were worried so she ended up dropping out

she turned 17 in march 2015, and by the april she found out she was pregnant

her grandparents ? pissed

her boyfriend ? refused to believe the baby was his but also knew it had to be because minah was wrapped around his finger

she ended up being able to go back to school because she’d only been gone for a few months just to get her grades and stuff

in december 2015 she gave birth to her daughter !!! a lil baby she named jisoo !!! 

just after her 18th birthday her boyfriend and her had a fight that left her in a not so good state; and she decided to pack her stuff, jisoo’s and her dogs, and the 3 of them left. 

she couch surfed a bit, stayed here and there until november 2016 when she moved into yujaen ( it’s almost her 3 year anniversary )

now here’s where things started going good but then they got worse

because of her ex’s attitude towards her and stuff she had social services in her life and jisoo had a nasty fall over some steps in the house and ended up going to daycare with a bruise on her forehead

social services were called and they took jisoo from minah :((( basically a lil more complicated and stuff but yeah

she was heartbroken

this was about a year ago and ever since then she’s been trying to get her back and things are going good for her !!!

now onto other things,,, 

she’s a student !!! an art student because her mom was always painting and stuff !!! and mukbanger on twitch and she’s pretty popular !!!

        °☆.。.:*・’ well, i’m late to the game but ya girl just came back from work and is getting ready to head to the gym. but hello! i’m jay and my son is wu jiao, a twenty-one year old dj at club arena. honestly, i haven’t had a chance to set everything up but a quick rundown is the boy is essentially what you would expect of a frat boy with a decent heart. he’ll take you out for a good time and make sure you get home safe but try to share secrets and he’ll probably gain your whole life story before you even know his hometown. i’ll be setting up a stats page soon and definitely a wanted connections/relationships page but boy has been in the house for seven months so i’m sure a few of them already have some sort of history. so, if anyone wants to plot off the bat, definitely like this post and i’ll hit you up once i’m back. if not, i’ll answer the open starters that flow onto the dash and we can wing it from there ♡ aside from that, very excited to be here and get things started!

benny was born on october 30, 2000 (and adopted in 2001, but she doesn’t like to talk about that) and she lies to almost everyone and tells them her birthday is october 31 to keep up her “spooky” factor

she’s got two older sisters who were both adopted as well and though she’s acclimated quickly, she occasionally feels like the outsider in her family for the last one introduced

her parents were often a topic of discussion amongst adults and kids alike as she was growing up. her mother is white, jewish, and from new york, which is a stark contrast from her seoul born and raised business man of a father which made their whole family stand out a bit

she was raised between new york (mostly summers/not quite a regular thing) and yongsa, so she’s a native to the area and has a few close friends/family connections which explains why no one’s asked her to tear down her tent yet

re: tent: benny sets up a tent to do her fortune telling on thursday mornings and from thursday at 8-11, then friday-sunday from 9-12, she does her fortune telling, mostly frequented by tourists (she offers tarot, palm readings, tea leaf readings, and crystal ball scrying)

she’s only ever like half serious about fortune telling when she’s not at work and a lot of the time she uses “bad energy” and “intuition” as an excuse not to do things she doesn’t want to do

she’s really actually sweet once you push past all the weird and the girl is desperate for friends, she doesn’t know how to make them or keep them but that’s because she’s never had to worry about them

she’s currently attending classes at yongsa community college but she’s got no goal in mind or direction, it’s really just to keep her parents happy and keep herself from getting a “real job”

hello !! i’m vivi ( 20, she/her ) & this is my sweet baby angel yang jinhee !! he’s... a bit of a mess tbh lmao BUT HE’S HARMLESS i swear he’s just kind of all over the place and def spends way more time in dreamland than living in the real world but he’s also a sensitive boi so pls don’t hurt him heh. if you wanna know more about him here are his unfinished stats, but i’ve also collected a bunch of info about him under the cut !! i don’t have any wanted connections just yet but if you wanna plot just hit that like button and i’ll come to you ❤ EITHER WAY !! here we gO

ok so first of all i’d like to start off by adding jinhee’s personality from the application form since it sums him up pretty well ( boy’s got no really traumatic childhood experiences ):

because of jinhee’s incredibly idealist way of viewing life and everything that surrounds it, one could say he’s definitely what people would call a dreamer. it’s a good thing, in a way, in the sense that he doesn’t care what people think of him or whether he’d be called weird or strange for living inside his own bubble all of the time. however, in other cases that can be pretty challenging for him, since he’s never been good at dealing with real life issues. jinhee can easily irritate people around him with his sense of humor and energy, which sometimes can be way too much to handle if they aren’t used to it.

contrary to popular belief, it took jinhee very little time to figure out what he wanted to do in life. of course, the instagram modeling and busking all came pretty spontaneously and wasn’t planned at all, but the sole fact that he’s always loved children made him want to be a teacher, so that’s what he strived to achieve. being as family-oriented as he is, it was a surprise that he actually moved away from his family home to live in the sharehouse; the reason being that a relative got the job for him at the daycare after he was done with his studies, and they lived way too far away. to make things easier, he moved to the sharehouse and that’s it, simple as that. doesn’t mean he doesn’t miss his family daily, though.

jinhee often finds himself in different predicaments which really take a toll on him, since he’s not too keen on living in the present. always dreaming and imagining alternative scenarios, it’s like his mind is constantly in a fairy tale world. it can be a nice thing, seeing that he works with children, but some would even see him as childish for it. he’s not blind to the public opinion; just doesn’t care for it.

nonetheless, he’s generous, optimist and really an open book; unable to hide his true feelings, it’s obvious to anyone whenever he’s feeling upset, mad, ashamed, or even anything, really. he wears his heart on his sleeve and ends up getting hurt badly for it sometimes, but he’s never really learned to protect himself as much as he probably should. however, there are certain situations in which he does his best to be realistic. he tries, of course, but sometimes things are just too much and he lets himself slip into the dream world once again. it’s one of the things he tries to work on the most: being realistic about life and hearing other people out, since he tends to shut out any other opinions different to his own.

ok so tl;dr!!!!! complementing all of that, it’s pretty obvious that he’s a dreamer

he can and WILL shut you out if you start to talk shit about him or his way of viewing life

he’s def gonna feel guilty & bad afterwards but oh well you can’t have it all in life now can you

basically he tries his best to keep his feet on the ground and not dream too loud but it’s just. HARD

he loveslovesloves his family, would do anything to live with them forever but life is tough bro SO he settles for visiting them frequently back at home since it’s pretty far away from the sharehouse & his workplace 

went to college with the idea in mind that he wanted to work with kids and does a pretty good job at it

he literally has no idea how the fuck he gained so many followers on instagram but then suddenly one of his friends called him an instagram model and he just accepted it lmao

also he’s always been told he’s got a nice voice so he decided to try out busking once and !! omg ?? people actually LIKED IT ?? so he came back more times even if it’s not a frequent thing

growing up he’s always had people call him names and tell him he’s weird but in his opinion THEY are the weird ones so who’s laughing now huh

jinhee really has no idea how to deal with problems... i mean he DOES try rly hard to deal with them but sometimes it’s just too much and it just does a LOT to his mental state

he also can’t handle direct confrontation, he’s just a sensitive boi who wants to see no frowns

basically anyone who’s gonna be around jinhee for an extended amount of time needs to have a LOT of patience bc he can be very annoying and think inside his own bubble & he can also be not very organized ( both with his mind and his things ) but he’s just got a lot of love to give

the YUJAEN SHAREHOUSE welcomes HUANG XIAOHUI to 1D. they have resided in the HAEAN BUILDING for fifteen months now, and are currently a CAREGIVER AT DREAMTREE DAYCARE.

Okay so Xiaohui is one of the sweetest girls you will ever meet! She just really loves life and being happy, and she wants everyone around her to feel the same. Think the color yellow and sunshine combined into a person and you’re p close

She’s the second child and only daughter in her family ( she has one older brother and one younger ). Her parents really wanted a big and happy family, and that’s what they got! Her childhood was full of laughter and fun, and their family was all v close with each other.

Her dad is a writer, so he had a pretty flexible work schedule and was able to spend a lot of time with his kids. Her mom was an artist, so that’s where Xiaohui first got interested in art, and she’s been painting / drawing ever since.

Unfortunately, when she was nine years old, her mom passed away due to cancer. Everyone was understandably upset and their dad decided that they needed a change to get back on their feet. So they moved from Hong Kong to Yongsa, SK!

Xiaohui was enrolled in the middle school there, and had a hard time at first bc she knew next to no Korean and wasn’t that great in English. As if that wasn’t enough, she also had to learn how to live without her mom, who she was really close to.

She wasn’t the only one who was having a hard time dealing with losing her ; it was especially difficult for her younger brother, as he didn’t have a mother figure anymore, and was young enough that he lost most of the memories he had of her. So instead of letting herself get too caught up in grief, Xiaohui stepped up.  She did her best to take care of her family, and they all became even closer during the next few years.

When she entered high school, things were totally different ( mostly bc she could speak Korean by then ). She made friends and painted and biked around town and laughed a lot! Yongsa finally started to be home for her, and she really does love it.

Graduated high school, but because it’s just their father supporting all four of them, she decided to work for a year or so before attending university ( and she was Not a big fan of school cause she kept getting distracted so that was also a bonus )

Found a job at daytree daycare! she works as a caregiver and gets to play with little kids all day and absolutely loves it. One of the happiest times in her life was when she was that age, and she wants every kid to have the same joy in their lives, even if it’s just when they’re at the daycare.

Her family was a bit confused at first cause they thought it was more like teaching than she would like, but she just really didn’t like the structure of school? learning and teaching are both great as long as they can be all over the place, which is why working with kids is so fun for her — she gets to teach by using stiCKERS how much better can you get?!

Just under two years ago, her grandfather passed away. Her dad had been considering spending some time back in HK, and his father’s death was the catalyst he needed. So he went back to help his family, taking the youngest member of their family with him.

Her older brother had already moved out and was doing his own thing, but Xiaohui was a bit unsure of what to do ; she didn’t want to stop her job, but their house was being rented out while her father was in HK and she was going to be homeless p soon if she didn’t find somewhere else. Luckily for her, she found the sharehouse! She moved in 15 months ago, a month before her 20th birthday.

Isn’t really sure that she’ll go to university? With her dad moving away it got swept to the side, and now that things have calmed down she’s really enjoying just working with kids all day and not having to think about grades or whatever. 

Calls her dad / younger brother once a week and spends at least one afternoon with her older brother every few weeks. Even though they’re a bit farther away than they ever have been, the Huang family is still very close.
