one of a few fellow Project Harvester/Inquisitor brats from Tähtien’s old class, he was “friends” w/ Antolemy and Covna. but rip him b/c despite throwing his hat in to become the sort of unofficial leader of the group after Antolemy died, he lost the popular vote to Covna, and then she ended up killing him a few years later. i mean it was a training accident, but still. i think it’s pretty obvious at this point that if you ever spend any amount of time as an Inquisitor(-in-training), then it means you were meant for suffering.

sw bday ft. garbage boy #2

dksjfhsdfhd Gathens Caddius doesn’t get a “happy” bday (first “celebrated” on Elona 34th, 21 BBY) b/c he’s an empire brat who doesn’t deserve nice things.

he’s literally just a plot device i needed for part of Tähtien’s story; a sort of “rival” in the Communications Division of the Imperial Navy. he’s a regular lieutenant while Tähtien’s just a junior lieutenant, and he think’s he’s hot shit for pretty much that reason alone. wants to do right by the Empire, make Vader proud, that kinda idiocy; also hates Tähtien b/c they got his cousin Antolemy killed years ago in the Inquisitorius–a cousin who was secretly teaching him Force tricks b/c Gathens wasn’t Force-sensitive enough to make it as an Inquisitor himself. thus, the true reason behind the “rivalry”, but he’s still an idiot garbage boy, so it doesn’t really get him very far in life.

not too much has changed; he’s still the same idiot garbage boy as he’s always been, ghjfjdf. actually, to the point where he’d rather take his own life than let his superiors think Tähtien was better at their job than he was. which. isn’t the best description of what happened, but. basically, he’d rather die than do Tähtien a favor; he’d take vital information about them to his grave than give it to his bosses. b/c not only does that show how deep (he felt) the rivalry got, it just shows how much of a dumbass he is. like he probably could’ve gotten a promotion or something out of all that, but l o l. like there’s a reason his entire lineage ultimately all dies out, kdhfjshgdh.

i do wanna make it clear that he didn’t just have beef w/ Tähtien; this guy could find a problem w/ any and everyone if given enough time. and tbh it really made him an outlier amongst this specific group of Comms officers (that also includes Odie) under the supervision of Captain Jacoby. but to pretty much anyone else, it was mostly played off as him being a stickler for rules and nothing more than a loud-mouth nuisance. he’d write up reports on fellow officers for like. breaking the most minute, “how is that even a thing” rules, but every time Lydas would just fucking ignore it, lmao. basically, Gathens was the only one who didn’t get that the Captain’s word took precedence over the stifling, busy-body, nonsense regulations that Gathens felt were essentially the word of God, b/c “that’s how good Imperial officers are supposed to behave” or some bullshit, hsjdghk. which is why it’s a good thing he died before all the rest finally decided to defect, b/c he definitely would’ve snitched in a fucking heartbeat.

given Darthustra’s track record for being an absolute wretched, awful, waste of an existence, she killed him as soon as she was able to once she found out she gave birth to their son instead of a daughter. and esp fuck her for that b/c he would’ve been an alright dad.

as i’ve been thinking about what to do w/ some of these characters and if there’s anything new i want to add to their stories, i kinda felt bad about killing off this dude. plus i kicked up a whole stink about not wanting to make another throwaway-type character for Taivas’ dad, who also in my canon just gets killed off right away, so i’ve been genuinely considering revamping things entirely so that he lives and Taivas’ bio dad too, making Arvo and Tai full-blood brothers. idk, maybe the other Nightsisters/brothers managed to stop or convince Darthustra into not killing him right away, so maybe he then does die after Taivas is born? but even still i just kinda want him to live anyway, lol. and if that’s the case, then he’d probably be able to spend some time w/ his boys as they’re growing up, but whenever Darthustra is involved, there’s no doubt there will be some residual trauma left behind, so i don’t want to take too much away from Pious being a foster dad to Arvo and Tai. so these two older gentlemen prob share some of the responsibility of raising these kids, but i def don’t see it as a romantic or even domestic partnership kinda situation; just people in the same community trying to look out for each other.

Erika’s husband and Antolemy’s dad he’s an Imperial engineer who was working on Scarif when the Death Star plans were stolen, so needless to say, that’s when he met his end.

after reading over my tags, honestly he just gives off vibes as the kinda dude who’d forget he even had a son in the first place, ghsdghjk. so not like this is an actual update or anything, but i guess just extrapolating off of that, he feels like the farthest removed from this whole family. which is saying something.

birth. Erika Norcius, born on Elona 22nd, 43 BBY.

born Erika Wikksen, she’s Feldine’s younger sister, and thus Darryl and Ussah’s second child. she’s also Antolemy’s mom and Gillby’s wife.

as i mentioned on her sister’s post, neither she nor Feldine were the truly “motherly” types. she looked up to her sister in a way that was more like out of obligation, but at the same time she trusted her more than she’d trust anyone else. they were likely raised upper middle class if not upper class, so it probably is just a classic case of elitism, that everyone else is beneath them and thus her family/sister were the only ones worthy of respect. but even then, that respect wasn’t given out due to any sort of familial love or kindness or anything.

so that said, what a lovely type of environment for them to raise their sons in, amirite? being a stay-at-home mom like her sister, it was easy enough for them to essentially raise their boys together, as if they were brothers instead of cousins. unknown to them at the time, it resulted in a Force bond between the two, and not long after, the Inquisitors came knocking looking for recruits. after hearing what it was all about, Antolemy practically volunteered himself before Erika could do so for him, so in her own way, she was proud of him for that. frankly, if nothing else, it meant bragging rights.

but after he was killed, it drove her closer to her sister in their desperate search for answers/revenge, but she never got it. one by one, the family started dying off, w/ Gathens killing himself, her husband obliterated on Scarif, her parents even more so obliterated on Alderaan, and her brother-in-law going down with the first Death Star. ultimately, it’s what drove her and Feldine to enlist in the Imperial Army to become Stormtroopers before the both of them died in the line of duty during the Battle of Endor.

if the naming convention is anything to go by, yes he’s related to Jey, kjfhdsjh. he’s her grandson through Eri, but as for his father, i’m still. trying to work that out…. basically he had one, but then i thought i changed my mind??? and now i’m not sure???? so for now i’m just leaving it blank b/c idk what’s going on anymore, r i p.

beyond that, i don’t have much more on him; i haven’t thought too much about his future b/c he’s born well after the sequel trilogy era, so that’s some real unexplored territory right there. territory i’m not sure i’m ready for yet, so i’m just. leaving a lot of things open for him right now.

It is with the deepest frustrations that I must report Microsoft has pushed out Copilot onto Microsoft Word no matter what your previous settings were. If you have Office because you paid for it/are on a family plan/have a work/school account, you can disable it by going to Options -> click on Copilot -> uncheck 'Enable Copilot'.

(Note, you may not see this option if you haven't updated lately, but Copilot will still pop up. Updating should give you this option. I will kill Microsoft with my bare hands.)

In addition, Google has forced a roll-out of it's Gemini AI on all American accounts of users over 18 (these settings are turned off by default for EU, Japan, Switzerland, and UK, but it doesn't hurt to check).

To remove this garbage, you must go to Manage Workspace smart feature settings for all your Gmail/Drive/Chat and turn them off. Go to Settings -> See all settings -> find under "Genera" the "Google Workspace smart features" -> turn smart feature setting off for both Google Workspace and all other Google products and hit save. (If you turned off the smart settings in your Gmail, it never hurts to open Drive and double-check that they're set to off there too.)

Quick Edit: I found the easiest way to get to the Smart Feature settings following the instructions above was to do it through Drive. Try that route first.

Now is the time to consider switching to Libre Office if you haven't already.

ngl, i don’t have a lot going for them; i know they’re Kage, nonbinary, and a former [redacted b/c tumblr’s new filtering bullshit will probably flag my post just for mentioning it, so hopefully that gives enough of a hint]. but yeah, their former profession was a personal choice, not wanting to be forced into the lifestyle of a Kage Warrior. so instead, they joined a crime syndicate, but after several years in that crime boss’s service, they got kicked out right at the same time Tähtien Valo showed up to take down said boss/syndicate. long story short, the two decided to work together, and Rylin, not having anywhere else to go, decided they were going to join Tähtien’s nonexistent crew.

~one year later…

i guess i’ve sort of changed their backstory a little from this version; as i mentioned on their mom’s post, they just wanted a better life for themself. it was a pretty broken home life between them and their parents; their dad honestly couldn’t care less about either of the two other than seeing them as his property (yeah, he’s that kind of a person). and given that their mom used to be in the same profession as their chosen one, that arguably wasn’t the best situation for a child to grow up in, esp since their mom just wasn’t ready to be a mom in the first place. only thing i’m still hazy on is when exactly they finally leave it all behind and move to Nar Shaddaa.

their meeting w/ Tähtien still happens as planned; it’s what prompts them for a career change into bounty hunting/mercenary work as well. one mission in particular to Ryloth is how they meet Hugo, aka their future husband. Rylin, just being the kind of person they are by this point, was head-over-heels instantly. and given that their relationship w/ Tähtien was already (in a way) romantic by then, i’m starting to realize maybe they have a type, fhdjkd. but ye, eventually they become the glue to this very happy and healthy polyamorous trio b/c fuck yes. they even have a child w/ Hugo (w/ Jey as their surrogate mom b/c who else, gdhdfkd); their sweet genderfluid daughter Keskiyön Sateenkaari Valo, named for their stepparent’s family.

Hap Birf to Kanto Jobaila!! born on Elona 10th, 67 BBY.

not gonna even attempt a dollmaker b/c he’s Rodian, and needless to say, there’s zero options for that, r i p. (also i still need to finalize how he looks even just in my head, so. ye.)

a doctor and Rebel sympathizer from Corellia, he’s who Barnaby stayed with when he ran away from home. just overall, Kanto’s a really sympathetic person. not to the point where he trusts too easily; he’s smarter than that, but he could tell Barnaby needed genuine help. like the surgeries and hormone treatments were obvious enough; what Kanto ultimately realized is that Barnaby needed someone he could confide in. be that a mentor or a father-figure, he wasn’t sure at first, but he ended up becoming both anyway. the two end up spending about six years working together; to those who didn’t know any better, they were just a no-questions-asked health service to anyone who could pay. but secretly, he was helping out the Rebellion by doing basically whatever he could. stitch up their wounded, smuggle supplies, hide refugees–anything he could get away with, essentially. and even though Barnaby wasn’t in on it at first, they knew each other well enough at that point to trust one another w/ keeping the secret.

one thing i still need to work out is how he came into possession of a lightsaber. he’s not necessarily Force sensitive; he’s not a former Jedi in hiding or anything like that. i guess the most likely option was that he unknowingly (at first) lent his services to a survivor, and said Jedi just left their saber w/ him b/c maybe they thought holding onto it was too risky??? idk, but regardless, he kept it hidden away for Emergencies Only™. unfortunately however, when the emergency finally happened, it was already too late; eventually the Empire found him out and they killed him for his “treasonous acts.” Barnaby was able to hide well enough to eventually escape, and he took the saber with him, but that’s another thing i also need to work out. the three options i currently have are Kanto told him about it just before he died, he told him way prior to all that going down and Barnaby remembered it as a sort of last minute thing before he left, or he just happened to stumble across it amongst the wreckage of their office. either way, it was something Kanto had planned on giving him anyway; that’s how deep his trust was for his apprentice/son.

originally was just gonna leave this as is for the year b/c i frankly had nothing new to say, but reading things over, at the very least i’ll say this nameless jedi whom i refuse to make into a whole ass brand new fleshed out oc probably died after their encounter w/ Kanto. like they knew it was only a matter of time before the Empire/Inquisitors caught up w/ them, so i guess their last act of defiance was to leave their lightsaber in the hands of the last person to show them any amount of kindness/hope.

also, b/c idk if i’ve already updated Barnaby’s post w/ this or if i still need to add it, but unbeknownst to Kanto, the lightsaber wasn’t the only thing Barnaby took as a memory to the man who helped completely turn his life around. up until he was formally adopted, he used Jobaila as his surname before making it his middle name. (edit: i’m realizing now this info’s almost verbatim in the original tags, but fuck it; i’m immortalizing it here in the main bulk of the post, lol.)

Happy Birth to Giuseppe Gillespie!! born on Elona 8th, 42 BBY!

another Clone Wars era Jedi, he’s the former padawan of Deasamu Lacrimosa and later the master of Ihme Farmendeer. though, in between that, he became the boyfriend of Vince Keaton.

a Zelosian born on his people’s homeworld of Zelos II, Gil still held a connection to his birthplace despite having to leave it for the Jedi Order at a young age. probably b/c Coruscant is literally just one giant city w/ not a whole lot of natural plant life, he made a habit of tending to the temple’s gardens as often as he could in his spare time. or, if nothing else, they were simply his favorite place to meditate. it’s also where he met Vince for the first time when they were both still younglings, and while they were able to stay friends for quite some time, they lost touch when they both finally became padawans. but they inevitably reunited, and while their relationship didn’t become official until well after the rise of the Empire, they certainly wouldn’t turn down the opportunity to spend time w/ each other pre-Purge. 

and speaking of which, he did manage to survive Order 66; i like to think he learned a lot from his master and Vince, both of whom also survived long enough to join the Rebellion. that’s where he and Vince ultimately reunite, and not long after, he gets to reunite w/ Master Lacri as well, which is how he eventually met Lacri’s new padawan Jey-Min (who later introduced him to her surrogate son Ihme). so yeah, that’s how all that connects, lol. 

but ye, Gil’s just that kinda guy who loves being around other people. not that he’s a particularly outgoing or boisterous person (he’s pretty chill tbh), but he just enjoys the company of others. he likes making new friends; it’s not too difficult for him to just pick up right where he left off w/ someone if they’ve spent any amount of time apart. once he gets to know you, you’ve essentially got a friend for life, b/c he’s just a good, sweet plant boi like that.

~one year later…

i was thinking about his and Vince’s reunion post-o66 the other day, having not gone over this beforehand to remind myself of any details, and tbh i do want to change to him meeting back up w/ Lacri first. that bit is def still fuzzy to me, but at least a good while afterwards, some Rebel contacts of theirs who’re trying to liberate some little backwater planet (w/ minor Imperial industrial presence on it) got caught and things nearly went completely south. neither he nor Lacri were able to be there in-person to help, but they at least were able to receive any survivors who escaped. they were prepped for that anyway, knowing they’d be taking in more civilians/defectors, but what Gil esp didn’t expect was for Vince to be among them. and while it still takes a hot minute for them to finally have a moment of privacy to admit any feelings for each other, cue Gil gleefully parading Vince around anyway, hgjsdhg.
