your themed slang for stex you did in that one post is really interesting could you elaborate on them?
oof yes i love themed slang so much (og post here)
Train slang is not super complex, merely a blending of regular old human culture, real railroad slang, and their own esoteric references. Most rolling stock have a remarkable skillfulness in the art of arguing, and will talk shit to hell and back. As a result, their vernacular is increasingly creative in an effort to really get their points across.
Some examples (including the ones in that post and some more!)
Dries my crown - a steamer saying, referencing the crown sheet that covers the top of the firebox. The crown must have a layer of water on top of it at all times to prevent damage to boiler, and potential implosion. So, saying that something "dries my crown", means it's really irritating to the point of outrage
Keep your tender on - calm down, relax. Another steamer saying
Blow it out your stack - fuck off and leave me alone. Started as a steamer thing and has gradually shifted over to the diesels as a derogative
Chassis - A chassis is the load bearing framework of rolling stock (and many other pieces of machinery). In the context of train slang, it's vaguely sexual? They're about as anatomically correct as barbie dolls and have a limited understanding of sexuality. But that doesn't mean the counterfeit replication of the human mind that makes up the rolling stock psyche can't catcall and talk dirty!
Pumps my pistons - see above
Get out of my cab and it's variations - stop micromanaging me!
Tarblood/coaleater/crummy/hog/scrap/tea kettle/etc. - slurs and name calling. Trains love to insult each other
Rumble - a human term that was co-opted by the rolling stock. Someone is gonna throw down and it's gonna be a big event, let's go watch two idiots beat each other up. Usually references altercations between engines
Less than a hundred miles under you - you're a newbie, you don't have a lot of experience
Wheelslip - In real railroading, wheelslip is a phenomenon where if too much force is applied to the wheels and there is not enough friction, the wheels will turn without there being movement of the train. In train slang, it's the equivalent of saying "butterfingers" when someone drops something or "you good?" when someone trips
Ticking over - not really slang, but more of cultural thing. On a real engine, ticking over is idling. In the musical, tickovers are the set of movements each character does when they're not doing anything specific (Rusty's little arm rotations, CB's salute, Greaseball combing back his hair). In the context of my weird psychological automaton au, it's a visual representation of them processing information. Train stimming, basically.
Oh also, they have a non-verbal sub-language in train form (if one subscribes to the transformers-esque headcanon), which includes brake clenching, whistle/horn variations, metal creaks, and light signals!

💜 Levi Week Day 2 💜
Hello! This is my official debut 😮 and submission for Levi Week Day 2: Proposal @levievent
Pairing: Postwar!Levi x f!reader
Wk: 2.5k
No warnings - just fluff 💚
Your hands shake as the nurse leads you to a room tucked away on the far left end of the hallway. Deep breaths do little to quell your nerves as you consider the time and distance between you and the man waiting on the other side of the heavy wooden door. .
Eleven months. Eleven months and an entire war.
A lot has changed for you in that time and you weren't even involved in the struggle against Eren Yeager and his genocidal plan. You can't imagine how things have changed for Levi. How his feelings may have changed. The thought makes the knot in your stomach tighter, squeezing oppressively. Your own feelings certainly haven't changed an iota and you know they never will, regardless of the thoughts of the object of them.
Your mild panic is cut short when the nurse knocks and opens the door and you get a view of the man you love for the first time in eleven long months.
He is sitting in a wheelchair facing away from the door and toward the large window at the far side of the room. A tray loaded with a teapot and cups rests on a small table in front of and slightly to his right and you smile at the familiar sight of a cup of the steaming liquid in his hands.
“Mr. Ackerman? You have a visitor.” The nurse squeezes your shoulder before leaving the room.
In front of you, still staring out at the park across the street, Levi scoffs and you can perfectly imagine the eyeroll that you are sure accompanies it. “You can tell Onyonkapon that he doesn't have to babysit me. I can wipe my own ass just fine.”
You begin the slow walk around the bed to the empty armchair next to him. “Oh well that's good to hear. I'll be sure to pass the message along to Onyonkapon next time I see him.”
Levi's head snaps up and over at the sound of your voice and the eye that isn't covered in bandages widens. Your name escapes his mouth in a short, surprised breath. “I thought. . .”
“That I was Onyonkapon?” You tease.
His face twists, “That you were dead.”
“Oh.” You collapse into the chair less gracefully than you had hoped and look over at him, taking in just how much he had lost. Bandages plaster his face from his right eye across his lips and down to his chin. His left cheek bears scars and two fingers are missing from his right hand. His left knee is set in a cast. These physical maladies are disheartening enough to see on their own but you know that emotional and mental scars lie hidden under the surface too. Though there is something visual to those as well. His shoulders hang heavy and his eyes are dull and tired. You can't even begin to fathom the emotional pain and overwhelming loss he must be handling but you want to try to help him shoulder it. You take a deep breath, “Well of course I'm not dead. It would take more than a little rumbling to take me out. I was trained by Humanity's Strongest Soldier after all.”
Levi's eyebrows (well, the one you can see anyway) rise and he watches you from the corner of his eye. “Is that right?”
“Not trained-trained but you know, he taught me some self defense and stuff.”
His voice is deadpan, “And this self defense was meant to keep you safe from titans.”
“No, I think he knew that there wasn't much I could do if I ever faced a titan. That was his territory. That's why he left me behind - so he could take care of the titans and keep me out of their hands. But he taught me self defense to keep me safe from everything else while he was gone.”
Levi's eyes are fixed on a spot on the wall below the window and his jaw is tight as he asks, “And do you resent him? For leaving you behind?”
“I don't think I could resent him if I tried. Besides, he was Humanity's Strongest after all. I knew he could never fully be mine as long as humanity needed him. I understood and accepted that long before I realized I love him.”
The tips of his ears are pink now and you can almost see his pulse thrumming in his throat but he swallows hard and gives another of his infamous scoffs before saying, “Humanity's Strongest? What a ridiculous name. Man's gotta be an arrogant ass to use it.”
“Yeah I thought so too at first.” Levi finally glances toward you, more out of shock than anything else. His face softens as you continue, “But then I got to know him. I saw how deeply he cared about his fellow soldiers, how earnestly he wanted to help the world, and how soft and gentle he could be with those he loved. He was physically strong, yeah. His battle prowess was unmatched. But I think a lot of his true strength came from his grit and his compassion.”
“Yeah well.” Levi knocks an angry fist against his bad leg, “A lot of good all that physical strength did him. I hear he's pretty useless and pathetic now.”
“I haven't heard that at all. People still greatly admire him. And the man I knew didn't care what other people thought of him anyway. He was above it all.”
“He cares what one person thinks.” He looks directly at you for the first time and you feel your blood rush to your face, heart rate picking up. “He wanted to protect her and provide for her. But he was only ever good at being a weapon and now that he can't even do that, he's not sure what he can offer her.”
Dampness graces your cheeks and you realize that Levi's words had made you cry. You swallow thickly and speak through the tears slowly gliding down the contours of your face. “I'm sure he'll figure it out. And I'm sure she doesn't agree that he's useless or pathetic at all.”
“I just. . . . I worry that she deserves better. Better than a physically and emotionally beaten man.”
“Again I'm sure she disagrees. And deserve and want are two different things. And-” your voice breaks, nervous that your next statement is too presumptuous. “And if he feels so strongly for her, wouldn’t he think that she deserves to have what she wants? So, if she wants him, wouldn’t she deserve to have him?
“And if he's not good for her? If he’s a burden?”
Exasperation quickly replaces your sorrow over the words being said, “Will you please stop being so insulting? You're talking about my fiance, you know.”
A soft wheeze erupts from Levi's chest and his eyebrows disappear into his hairline. “I wasn't aware Humanity's Strongest Soldier was engaged.”
You feel your face flush and suddenly feel the urge to look away. You stare at his shoulder, avoiding his eyes. “Okay so he's not engaged yet but-”
“Not yet?” Amusement flushes his features and a spark lights in his eyes.
You take a deep breath. “No, because I haven't asked him to marry me yet.”
“But you plan to?”
“Yes.” Your voice is stronger and more certain than it has been this whole conversation and you are finally able to meet his eyes again.
A smile stretches across his marred lips. “Well you better get a move on then.”
Wordlessly you slide down to the floor and shift until you are kneeling directly in front of him. Your stomach flutters until you meet his gaze once more, unwavering and sure and so warm despite their cool coloring. You find that you can no longer feel nervous and the force of the joy that overtakes you causes the tears to spill from your eyes like a river. You ignore them and reach for Levi's right hand with both of your own. His brow furrows as he studies you but you ignore that too. “Levi, you are-”
“No.”
“No?” Your voice comes out smaller than you intended and your distress must be written all over your face because Levi immediately course-corrects.
“Not no to your proposal, just no to this.” He gestures broadly at you. “We're equals. We should be equals. I don't want you kneeling before me like you're somehow less than me.” The hand trapped between yours tugs upwards. “Just get up here. Please.”
You stand and begin to turn towards your previously abandoned chair but Levi has other plans. His hands grip your waist firmly and gently force you down onto his lap. In your surprise, you nearly smash your skull against his forehead but you catch yourself in time and settle carefully - so as not to press against his cast - with your hands on his shoulders and your legs splayed over either thigh. The position is intimate and cozy and eliminates almost all space between you and the loving gleam in his eyes. “Better,” he says and you were sure his voice is rougher than it had been. “Now, please do proceed.”
“Oh.” You know you need to say something but you can feel his fingers softly kneading into the small of your back, and feel his breath across your cheeks, and you are finding it incredibly difficult to string any kind of coherent thought together. “I. . . I had this whole speech prepared but I can't seem to remember any of it now.” A breathless laugh escapes you and Levi's eyes soften. His good hand moves to cup your face tenderly.
“I just really love you.” You finally manage to blurt out. “I love you more than I have words to express and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. And whatever comes after that.” it is like a dam burst and the words are falling from your mouth faster. “I know we've been separated for a while now but I never once stopped loving you and missing you and I can't bear the thought of missing you any longer. I don't care where we go or what we do - I just want to be with you. If you'll have me.” A nervous laugh slips between your suddenly dry lips when there is no immediate response. “I'm sorry this is so messy and backwards.” You’re rambling now. Nerves taking over. “I don't even have a ring to offer you and I -”
“I have one.”
“. . . Pardon?”
“Left breast pocket of my jacket on the hook by the door.”
Your mouth hangs open like a fish and you blink once, twice, three times before Levi sighs and says, “Are you deaf or just stupid?” The words are harsh but his tone is soft as is the look in his eye and the subtle upwards curve on the left corner of his mouth. “Left breast pocket. Uniform jacket. By the door.” He softly pats the side of your thigh, dangerously close to your rear, encouraging you to get a move on.
You do. Your legs are wobbling and your head is spinning but you manage to make your way over to his jacket where you plunge your hand into the indicated pocket to find two rings. When you pull them out you discover that they are nearly identical. Two perfect simple silver bands but one is thinner with a small diamond set in the center. They’re perfect and you spend so long looking at them that Levi eventually has to pull you back to reality.
“I can’t imagine you got lost in the folds of my jacket.”
You stumble back to him, dazed and so so in love, never taking your eyes off of the rings once. When you get close enough, Levi pulls you into his lap once more. You’re sure he’s looking at you, waiting for some kind of response but you can’t look away from the solid symbol of this incredible man’s love for you.
“How long?” You whisper it and worry for a moment that he won’t know what you mean.
But he does. Of course he does. “I bought them before the Scouts left for Marley. Before I. . . Before I left you.” There is heartbreak in his tone but you find that your own heart is soring.
“You knew even that far back?”
Levi sighs your name and gently cups your jaw once more. “I think, deep down, I knew from the moment I met you. I was just too stubborn and stupid to figure it out sooner. Part of my soul always craved you” He pauses, searching your eyes. “It’s part of the reason I left you behind. It was dangerous and I couldn’t bear the thought of you being harmed. I thought you’d be safer. I was wrong. Forgive me”
“Oh Levi,” You cup his jaw on the opposite side that his hand rests on your own face and press your forehead against his. “There is nothing to forgive.”
“You’re too good to me.” His voice is low and almost husky and it makes you shiver a little in his arms.
You smile, “Well, it seems I’ve finally found something I can best you in: Being good to you. For you are far too hard on yourself.”
“I’d be honored to spend the rest of my life losing to you.”
“You better put that ring on my finger then.”
You lean in to kiss him but he pulls back just enough to look in your eyes properly. “No can do.” He smirks at the outrage creeping on your face.”You never asked me, you see.”
You open your mouth to protest but he cuts you off. “You said wonderful, amazing things that I am going to dream about for the rest of my life, sure. But you never did actually ask the question. “
You roll your eyes and lean in once more, placing one hand on the curve where his neck meets his shoulder and the other on his injured cheek. “Levi Ackerman, you are the love of my life and the source of my joy. You are everything I ever wanted and I could never imagine that I would get to have you. I want to give my life to you and spend all of my days by your side. Will you please -”
You're cut off by Levi pressing his lips to yours. He kisses you fervently, almost desperately and you laugh into the kiss pulling away after several seconds. His lips follow you, dotting over your cheeks, nose, and jaw. “You didn’t let me finish!” You protest between your giggles.
Levi ceases his barrage of affection and holds your face between two hands. “Yes.” He says simply, and then he kisses you again, sending your heart racing and your mind melting.
You’re so lost in the softness of his lips and eager probing of his tongue that you don’t notice when he pulls one hand away from your face to pluck one abandoned ring off of your lap. You’re still too elated and dizzy from the deep kiss to notice when he grabs your left hand and slips the ring on your fourth finger but once you manage to pull yourself away from him after several long minutes, you realize that the weight now on your finger feels natural, comfortable, perfect. Absolutely perfect. Just like the man beneath you and the life you will build with him.

jjk boys and men as k-drama boyfriend archetypes, ft. yuuji, suguru, megumi, kento, satoru and sukuna.
▸ seperate character x gn! reader headcanons and/or scenarios; 4.3k wc; use of gn! nicknames; fluff [the tooth-rotting, butterfly-inducing kind]; implied smut in case of suguru & sukuna; implied war in case of satoru.
Tumblr media
▸ my shoulders are hurting from typing for so long, ow, ow, ow!!!! got the inspiration for this from so many posts floating on my dash and 'for you' page; though i'm pretty sure this kind of post has never been done before. ▸ also, the author [blehhh, that's me!] knows very little to almost nothing on the k-dramas quoted in the link used for reference [this], apart from what info's on the wiki page. so this piece of writing might bear similarities to the original k-drama plot; it might bear differences to it. please don't be mad or upset with me! 🥰 ▸ anyways, the title's from the song 'oh no!' by marina. neither the characters nor the image nor the divider used are mine. itadori yuuji as 'the above-average country guy'
[c'mon, are you really surprised?]
the day you leave the city life for the tiny town your grandpa lives in, because your mom loses her job, you think that's exactly when everything good in your life reaches its end.
the school is far and you've got to walk to it; the students are weird and kind of old-fashioned; the town is sooo boring... ugh.
or was, before you meet the grandson of one of your grandpa's old friends. itadori yuuji - or yuuji-kun, as the boy insists you call him.
studying in the same year as you, your new friend acquaintance is nothing less than an angel, a pure beam of sunshine.
from greeting everyone - even you, the titled snob of the school - with a grin so wide, it dimples his cheeks;
to assisting those needing help - be it getting your cat off the tree or sharing the pretty heavy load of notebooks you are originally tasked to carry back to the class [while ignoring your protests the entire duration];
to accompanying you to the school and back home after one off-handed remark of yours of you missing travelling with your friends...
you're more than a little surprised, why's the supposed golden boy of the town being kind and friendly with a grump like you?
however... what's more surprising than his cordial manner with you is... as you spend more time in his company, you find the way you perceive the world changing, bit by bit.
the walk to school is no longer strenuous and dreaded, thanks to yuuji's constant chatter and not-so-funny-as-silly jokes.
your classmates too seem to be more open and welcoming of you, and you find yourself smiling more and more with them and slowly getting involved in many of their shenanigans. [gosh! who the hell ever said village people are boring? they're so freaking fun!]
and guess what? even the town slowly grows brighter in your eyes.
thanks to your best friend [yes, now you accept him as so] showing you so many 'awesome' places in the town!!
the ice cream shop which supposedly sells the best ice cream in the world [the claim isn't really wrong, you guess];
the scariest haunted mansion on the far end of the town [it isn't scary; but you don't tell him that. you act scared just so yuuji'll hold your hand throughout the tour];
the tallest tree in the woods nearby, perched on a branch of which, you can get a clear view of your idyllic little town below and of the tiny twinkling stars above [you fall in love with the spot the second you experience the sheer beauty of the sights from it].
[you reckon, your feelings for your companion too solidify into 'something more' the second you tear your eyes away from the visual feast before, to the boy beside, only to find his gaze not on the scenery but on you, a soft smile in place of his usual boisterous grin — yet you don't say anything.]
[not 'cause you feel insecure or worried, he might not return your affection; but 'cause you realize yuuji does. the look on his face tells you enough... that, and the way he silently asks for permission, shy gaze darting between your eyes and lips – a permission you're all too eager to grant with a nod and a meek smile of your own.]
Tumblr media
geto suguru as 'the k-pop star'
attractiveness = 100. singing skills = 100. attitude = 0.
[or, maybe, 10. the group's visual - wtf is his name? oh, yes, sukuna. that guy's getting get a solid zero in this.] [anyways–]
the first time you meet geto is when you're accompanying your elder brother, satoru to the auditions.
you're simply standing there, trying to cheer your brother up before his number is called [he might appear to be unafraid but you know your nii-chan better than that], when a smooth voice interrupts you followed by a sharp angular face appearing with even sharper eyes, glancing at you for a beat before falling on satoru.
that's the first time you meet him and that's the last time you view him in a light which isn't tinted with hatred.
you reckon it begins the evening of the party celebrating satoru's selection into the band. [it isn't a big matter; kind of small, in fact, given it's just you, your brother, your best friend shoko and satoru's new teammates - bubbly haibara, serious nanami, irritating sukuna and fucking bastard geto.]
to be more precise, it begins the moment satoru dozes off after his fifth glass of beer [you wonder, how, being your brother, he is such a lightweight] and sukuna, sensing the sliver of opportunity, starts flirting with you — a situation, annoying, yes, but one you're more than capable of handling — if only not for that long-haired bastard 'new best friend' of your brother.
the said asshole strolls in with a condenscending smirk, saying how one must never go for someone like you, so plain and boring.
now, generally, you don't let other's opinions of you get to yourself, but when it's from a guy you might've got a mild crush on... it's so infuriating, you can really feel your blood boiling within your veins.
and to your greatest chagrin, you find your blood boiling so many more times in the future, you think it's a miracle you haven't turned into a pressure cooker yet.
from an informal get-together to a launch party to an award show, geto never fails to get under your skin. sometimes, it's a concealed smirk; sometimes, a fleeting touch; sometimes, a lilting whisper - and you're left, fuming and flustered.
yet, just like everything good and bad, this hatred of yours towards the leader of your brother's band too reaches an end — yet not the way you might have expected it to be – with an apology [certainly not by you, but to you] and a clinking of two wine glasses.
it reaches an end with the two of you in a dimly-lit corridor, away from the crowd of the party, your hands grabbing on geto's coat lapels for dear life while his hands roam over your back, leaving a scorching feeling in their wake.
a thought rushes to the forefront of your mind and you break the kiss, panting. geto's brows furrow a tad from behind his mussed up hair; silencing the voice calling him cute, you ask, "so what's next? hate sex?"
a bright blush floods into his cheeks, you observe, as he opens his mouth to answer, then falters. "hate sex?" he gapes at you, "why on earth would it be hate sex?"
"'cause you and i hate each other...?" the answer leaves you, less as a statement and more as a question; you watch geto take a second to let it sink in before a chuckle erupts from him. "oh, sweetheart," he croons, placing a warm palm on your cheek, "i don't hate you. i never have. what made you-"
"you once told sukuna i'm plain and boring, and that no one should date me," you cut him off, feeling irritated again. [what the hell? is he gaslighting you??]
a short beat passes, wherein you glare up at him while he simply peers down at you, before a contrite smile flits onto his lips. voice dropping to a mere whisper, he says, "i'm sorry i made you feel that way, but i swear, that wasn't my intention. i was simply lying to get sukuna off your back. i was scared he might get you to fall in love with him, before i ever got a chance. i'm so very sorry."
this time, a long beat passes and ultimately, a loud whoosh of air leaves you.
you don't know whether it's the glimmer of sincerity in his feline eyes or your feelings for him which you've filed away for so long, which prompts you; whatever it is, you find yourself saying, "hmph, okay. that's stupid in a twisted way, but still, okay. however..."
you narrow your eyes at him.
geto blinks back at you, attentive and patient.
you let the anger melt away a bit from your expression. "don't expect me to forgive you after a couple of sorry's. i need a lot more than them to forgive you entirely."
"and a lot more, i promise to give you, oh divine being from above," geto responds with a cheeky smile and a kiss to your knuckles, "starting with some real nice loving tonight."
you beam back at him - not upset but kind of happy, for the very first time in your life, with the flutters in your chest elicited by that your smooth bastard.

fushiguro megumi as 'the supportive co-worker'
[you might've seen a grumpy x sunshine couple; but have you ever seen a grumpy-and-sunshine person? no?? well, continue reading!]
first impression: rude.
the only response the boy gives you, when you greet your cute new co-worker at the coffee shop you just joined, is a nod. no name, no 'welcome', not even a single 'hi'. just. a. small. nod. [huh?]
second impression: quiet.
you strike out your 1st impression of fushiguro megumi [thank god, name tags exist; anyways-] with your 2nd impression of him.
a week or two after you join, yuuta and maki call you into the break room after your shift ends and ask if you can decorate the room, since it's toge's birthday today. they explain they want to help you, but with the sudden rush of the customers, it's nearly impossible to leave the counter.
being the polite person you're, you obviously say yes, without even considering for a beat, just how much you might have to decorate.
and this is where you form your second impression of megumi.
ten minutes might have passed since you started working, before the boy strolls into the room, the ever-present frown on his face, gives the room one long look and joins in decorating, wordlessly.
you're astonished, to say the least; yet you don't breathe a word in return.
some help is better than no help, and if we're being honest here, you're more than a bit pissed at the boy.
thus, this is the way the two of you continue working, silently, and before long, you find your work done, the room prettily decorated.
a smile on your face, you twist – to find megumi hurrying out the room, soon followed by your other two co-workers entering it, confusion etched on their faces.
"megumi didn't leave for his baseball practice yet?" yuuta inquires, gaze darting from the door to you. your brows furrow. "baseball?"
"yeah," maki hums, "the kid's got some important match tomorrow morning, because of which we did not even consider asking him for help. plus, with how reluctant he always is in these matters..."
"the boy always makes an excuse to worm his way out of these parties and stuff," finsihing for her with a chuckle, yuuta throws you a curious look. "did you ask him for help?"
"nope!" comes the instant reply from you. the two colleagues share a knowing smile between them, you observe - however, before you get a second to process it, both of them sling an arm around your shoulders and thanking you for your efforts, drag you to the front of the now-empty coffee shop, where you see nobara and yuuji enter, carrying a large rectangular box.
a call of your name breaks your focus on the bickering duo and you turn to find yuuta smiling down at you. "megumi is actually a sweet boy, deep inside. give him a chance, please."
"more like a sweet coward," maki pipes in from the other side with a grin, "but, yeah, giving him a chance won't hurt you."
at that point of time, you wonder why the fuck your two seniors are blabbering this nonsense to you — yet now...
after weeks during which you silently watch the boy open up to you, first with a smile to you greeting him [you initially don't want to talk to him, but something the other two said leaves a mark and you find yourself treating him the same way you treat others]...
... which slowly grows into a smile and a question on your day, which grows into a smile, a question and lessons for the bumbling newbie you, on the ins-and-outs of working in a café, often paired with a pretty long, refreshing conversation...
... which slowly but steadily furthers beyond the confines of the coffee shop and your shared working hours...
..into now, the present moment, where you find megumi dressed to a tee, a shy smile on his lips and a lovely bouquet of roses in his hands, waiting to take you out on your first date—
yeah, now you realize why they were 'blabbering' to you that day, something you'll always be thankful to yuuta and maki for.

nanami kento as 'the hardworking entrepreneur'
your ken-chan has always been the best in your eyes.
the best in studies, the best in sports, the best neighbour, the best friend to you – one you're desperate to stay in touch with when you shift abroad for your higher studies.
time, however, is unforgiving and despite your wish, the weekly-thrice phone calls and emails dwindle down to weekly-once, then monthly-once, then to customary e-mails on special occasions like birthdays.
so, imagine your surprise [and joy, obviously] when one morning - a good eight years since you left for the states and a good month since you returned home - you open your laptop to find an e-mail from a nanami kento waiting in your inbox, the subject being 'let's meet up? :)'.
meet him, you do – except for the fact your ken-chan is no longer your ken-chan, yet is so much your ken-chan. [confusing, isn't it? you too feel really confused on meeting him after ages.]
the cute boy you knew has grown into a fine man - more than fine, if you're speaking the truth, given the way his facial features are sharper, shoulders broader, voice deeper – but with the same old personality as in high school.
frowning, solemn, no-nonsense – just, this time, your friend isn't discussing the science project but an idea to start a new company.
with him. the two of you. right from scratch.
you reckon you've never said 'yes' faster in your life!
and how can you not actually?
your ken-chan's genius has always awed you... and now that you're getting an opportunity to view it in all its glory, again, after so many years - how on earth can you not agree in an instant?
within a pretty short time [wow, efficient!], your company is set up and good to go; and you begin to witness a... not-really-new but... let's say, a better side of your friend.
kento has always been extremely sincere and hard-working since your school days together; yet now, as you watch him do overtime, day after day after day – inspite of his claimed vehement hatred for it – you realize the intensity of his dedication towards his work.
then, add to that, his communication skills.
utterly flawless.
you've worked with many amazing companies before and you're being unbiased here [no joke] but this man's got some insane skills in communication.
be it securing a deal with the clients or addressing a problem with the employees, there's nothing kento can't handle in perfect poise.
however, what steals the show for you, is neither of these but your ken-chan's golden heart.
the company goes through more than its fair share of troubles – yet, you don't see him, not even once, compromise with any ideals or ethics of his. be it with the clients, or with the employees, or with you - his company's co-founder whom he agrees to give a respectable exit, with a decent pay, when the company is passing a particularly rough patch – he never deviates an inch from his moral code.
needless to say, you deny his request firmly in an instant.
a decision you know you'll always be proud of – not for the fact the company is now one of the largest in the country and making huge profits regularly; it was a given the company will be successful with kento at it's head [the man says you deserve the equal amount of credit as him, but being who you are, you're wont to shush him; anyways-]
– but because you will never have forgiven yourself for abandoning an angel-like person like him in his time of need; something you deem kento never deserves after years of being a wonderful friend to you.
though... now, as you watch him approach you with a tiny smile and two bags of take-out for a late dinner [meetings, ugh]... you can't help but hope he'll become a friend plus someone else to you in the future...
'cause, after all, your ken-chan has always been the best in your eyes.
the best in studies, the best in sports, the best neighbour, the best friend, the best colleague - and the best person ever, you know you can entrust your heart to.

gojo satoru as 'the brave soldier'
[*sigh* where should i even begin...]
the first meeting the two of you have is less than ideal.
it's less of a meeting and more of a crash, to be honest — and i ain't even being metaphorical here.
you're on your morning jog for the day, smiling and listening to the song you're currently obsessed with, when out of thin air, a bicycle appears and comes careening down the slope you're at the base of, right into you — not giving you the time to react, or at the very least, process what the fuck just happened.
the deities above must have been pleased with you that day, you guess, 'cause you're discharged from the hospital with merely a wrist sprain and a few scratches on your arms and legs.
though... you reckon they must have been harbouring a grudge on you too... for if they aren't, why is the cause behind your injury such an annoying, obstinate, dumb manchild, hm?
a sigh leaves you, the umpteenth time in the last hour, as you limp back to your home. the whining from the broken bicycle beside you doesn't stop one bit.
"c'mon, sweetheart-" "don't call me that-" "fine, c'mon, babe-" "ew, don't call me that either-" "ooh, playing hard to get, are-" "fuck off!"
reaching an abrupt stop, you whirl on your feet, face contorted in a furious scowl. the stranger takes a step back from you, shrinking; you know you must school your features a bit, this is a public place for heaven's sake—
utterly uncaring, you begin, "listen, mister. i've been telling you for a good half an hour, from the hospital till now, that i don't wanna go on an apology date with you. it was an accident for fuck's sake," your voice grows louder with wilder hand gestures.
the man keeps staring at you in response, rooted to the spot. you don't even stop to breathe, "just say sorry for it and get on with your goddamn life. why the hell you ain't leaving me alone, man? don't you understand the meaning of 'no'? single word – n, o?"
a long beat passes in silence after your tirade, post which the man recedes, shrugging, with a mumbled apology and nothing more, leaving you confused and a little contrite(??).
whatever!
with time and tide and the woes and worries of your daily life, that odd little encounter slips to the back of your mind before it resurfaces, two years later, while you're posted in a foreign country.
"sweetheart!" the endearment rings through the military camp. the cameraman beside you stifles a shocked gasp; sharing a confused look with him, you send your interviewee a small smile before turning your gaze in search of the source of the noise.
the same white-haired goggles-wearing man from long before rushes tumbling down the dirt track, you watch, appalled, bringing unpleasant flashbacks to your mind, then stops, a good distance from you.
brows a tad pinched, you see him brush his bangs away from his forehead and open his mouth to speak; but another person beats him to it. you twist back to face your interviewee.
geto gives you a harmless grin. "aha! so you're the mystery person gojo here fell in love with, huh?" a series of indignant sputters and coughs sound from behind you, accompanied by giggles from next to you. you seriously consider elbowing yuuji.
the black-haired man, meanwhile, continues with a request, "hey, can you please rethink your decision of not wanting go on a date with him? please- it's just one date," he adds in a hurry when you open your mouth with a glare, his grin falling to a helpless look. you close your mouth, willing your glare to go away and return a neutral expression.
"satoru's my best friend and brother-in-arms but at times, at night especially, when he starts lamenting over how he scared you off... y'know, at those times, i just wanna kill him, frankly speaking," the man pleads guilty.
a sigh escapes you as you cast a glance at gojo, noting the poorly hidden apprehension in his eyes. yet another sigh escapes you-
"of course," yuuji's energetic voice pipes in.
you stamp his foot pretty hard; that idiot, undeterred, proceeds to rattle, "this person here too wouldn't shut up after that incident. on how one should be more polite, more considerate, more tolerant, more forgiving. even going as far as to say that one date would've been fine; it was just a date that, that poor man asked for— isn't it so?"
"really?" gojo's voice wafts over to your ears; you squeeze your eyes shut and open them, cheeks feeling awfully warm.
"yes," you grit out, pinning your alleged admirer down with a glare, which softens when you catch the spark of happiness in his eyes. you decide to relent.
"if the two of us survive this, let's go to that patisserie you were speaking of that day. how does this sound to you?"
said man rewards you a dazzling beam with a thumbs-up. "sounds like the perfect way to waltz into my heart, sweetness."

ryomen sukuna as 'the cold chaebol'
[c'mon, are you really surprised?]
utterly cold, utterly ruthless, utterly a monster – is what one might- nope! one 'will' call sukuna.
and they aren't really wrong, you muse as you watch the man in question talk business with two executives from another company, the latter looking one step away from fainting.
you muffle your expression beneath the guise of a cough, earning you two startled looks and a frown. a polite smile flits onto your lips as a soft apology leaves them, and you return to your silence–
which lasts till the second you step out of the room, accompanying the pair of men and one of them turns to you, sheer terror in his eyes.
"take this," he mumbles, pressing something into your palm; you look down to find it's a business card. forehead creasing into lines, you look back up at him.
the other man sighs. "listen, kid, that man sukuna ain't good news. before anything wrong happens, just quit this job and come to our company. we'll pay you well... okay, maybe not as well as they pay you here, but at the very least, an axe won't be hanging over your neck every minute of your working hours there."
you blink, then press the button to the elevator.
gratitude floods your expression. "thank you. i'll keep your words in mind," you say, bidding them goodbye.
the men give you a smile, then with one last petrified look at the closed doors of the ceo's room, file into the elevator and shut it in an instant, too scared to spend even a millisecond more here than what's required of them.
your secretarial smile burns away into a majestic scowl.
"again?"
you click your tongue, closing the doors you opened behind you and go and plop on the sofa. a sigh sounds from next to you, soon followed by the weight of a heavy head on your shoulder. "what do we do?"
"you're the boss here. you tell me."
sukuna makes a noise of disapproval in his throat before nestling a little closer to you. you open your arms a bit, oddly reminded of an overgrown kitten, then bite back your words. the teasing can be for later.
an annoyed grunt reaches you in response. "as the boss, i'm asking you. c'mon, tell me. what do we do?"
the answer arrives from your end within a fraction of an instant.
"we cut our ties with them, obviously," you say. "anyone who can be so insolent as to think they can steal me away from you can do just almost anything. too bold for my liking," you tsk.
"oh, you don't like someone bold, kitten?" a crimson eye opens at you, mischief shining in its depths. your nose wrinkles in distaste.
you shove him away. "firstly- ew, never call me kitten; secondly- careful, mr. ceo or people might think we're fucking."
a deep chuckle with an 'okay' are the only response sukuna gives you as he drags you close to himself and you let him; letting your thoughts too to drown you in them.
yeah, sukuna is the utterly cold, utterly ruthless, utterly monstrous person everyone makes him to be.
yet, what they overlook is that the man's got a leash, one held by the demure personal assistant always at his side–
the assistant being none other than 'you'.
the fearsome businessman's other half in every sense of the term except the fact the two of you have never shared a bed.
[though... you think... if you decide to listen to uraume's advice to get your shit together and make a move on their master – one whose gaze, you note, has been fixed on your lips for a duration too long now to be decent – you reckon the unfulfilled criterion will be fulfilled way before tomorrow.]

curious of your opinion and sorry if you've already said it, i feel like money is the elephant in the room of AI art discourse. often an underlying assumption of "art is easy money for naturally gifted artists, now i can do their lazy time-wasting job too. it was unfair that they could make money doing a fake job due to their inherent talent that i didn't have." ppl who don't realize they just aren't that into art as an interest. i don't know, that's been my read.
AHAHHAA I'VE SEEN some shockingly bitter commentary about artists spring out of this issue on this site! The most recent one was something like "artists only care because they're going to lose their status and clout". That's such a sad way to look at anything. And also a super online one, haha.
A lot of these types seem to have their closest relationship to artists be: imported media (anime, gacha), indie games (so many moving parts that it may be easy to devalue the visual asset artists; they tend to give more lip service to the writers/programmers/soundtrack composers), or their own work/friends' work, which is a hobby or non-load-bearing side hustle. The latter is the most interesting to me, but their inspirations are pretty far from mine so I haven't gotten to examine them much.
But yeah, "ppl who don't realize they just aren't that into art as an interest" is my read on the large portion. And when I frame it by what I'm worried about-- an incredibly accessible hobby and no-consequence exercise in self-betterment being undercut by even less friction for drooly-lipped instant gratification-- it just reads like they don't really like anyone, themselves included.

GQ MAGAZINE; SEGMENT
The Coachella-slaying, multi-language-singing, genre-obliterating members of Ateez are quickly becoming load-bearing stars of our global pop universe.
Tumblr media
August 15, 2024
The expensive clothing layered onto the smallest frame in the group depicts an almost untouchable image, yet when the youngest member in question turns around it is pure warmth that decorates doll-like features when greeting the photographers. Himari is often referred to as innocence itself - main rapper Mingi calling her 'angel' several times throughout the shoot - due to radiating happiness in an effortless manner, though it reportedly was not always this simple.
Mental health has long been an avoided topic in the industry even amongst increasing hiatus frequencies, so when the maknae was struggling with heavy depression many remained unaware of her predicament. When asked about the impact of having to fight while keeping up an idol image, she explains that: "At times I couldn't even distinguish which one was the real me, the one who was tired of even having to wake up, or the one smiling at Atiny while performing."
"Even when I was genuinely happy felt like acting." She continues, manicured fingers fidgeting with a golden ring. "It was such a terrifying time in my life, but it helped me realize that there was no merit in pretending to be someone else or hiding my true feelings. Anger, pain, joy, fear, there's not one emotion less valuable than the others so now I feel them as they come along."
Seeing the avoidance in eye contact when talking about this topic I apologize profusely thinking that this might not have been the appropriate route, but she simply laughs before gracing me with one of her beloved cat-like smiles. "In truth I'm very shy." She reassures me. "People often see me as this very assured person because of how I am on stage, but in settings like these I tend to be much more introverted than with people I'm acquainted with."
The group is well known for hypnotizing performances high in energy with four members forming the 'Demon Line', adequately named after the specific type of personas they tend to embody on stage, which she happens to be part of. Conversing with me however is indeed a rather timid young woman, despite the dark makeup making her gaze much more piercing, who does not seem to share any commonalities with the siren witnessed by the audience.
Just when our eye opening conversation comes to an end several members come over to their youngest, praising her gorgeous visuals enhanced through the well chosen outfit. Therein lies another charm of this rapidly rising group, their genuine connections to each other. Being around the same people almost every minute of the year can undoubtedly become tiring yet even during the unit shoot between San, Seonghwa, Jongho and Himari, the atmosphere feels more like a regular poolside hangout than work.
While some poses do seem somewhat awkward between friends - such as Seonghwa holding her against his bare chest as he holds a thumb on her bottom lip - their six years together has built a strong sense of trust and comfort. A comfort that resonates as clear as the youngest's laughter while the older members threaten to throw her into the water, Jongho holding her across his shoulders like she weighs next to nothing.
[....]
Unique artistic expression plays a very large part in building an intriguing image around the group. ATEEZ's captain has lately risen to be a fashion icon due to his experimental style, Mingi has created his own brand with the usage of his iconic 'Fix On', and their youngest creates divine ink paintings, some of which have since been placed as permanent expositions in galleries.
The three of them form something known as the 'Producer Line', and are responsible for creating the group's discography. Himari is also an active producer for other artists of various genres, the most notable being SHINee member, Taemin. The latter, recognized as the second Hand of Midas alongside her brother, BTS member Suga, is currently fast asleep on the changing room couch on their manager's shoulder, surrounded by music sheets written for their Coachella performances.
"When you first meet her, she seems very calm and carefree." Yeosang explains while removing the accessories from her hair. "In truth even being a maknae, she takes on very similar responsibilities to our captain. Her studio is practically a second home at this point, that's how much she works. She doesn't even realize it either so either Yunho or I have to come drive her back to the dorm."
It becomes clear through conversations with the members that their rise from small agency trainees to performers desired by multiple music festivals can be attributed to their hard work. Each have their own style, personalities and defining charms, which makes every stage unique. We can certainly look forward to much more success from these talented artists as they continue to mark the industry.

The history of postwar church architecture surely would have been significantly different if it weren’t for two things: Le Corbusier’s Ronchamp chapel and the Second Vatican Council. Both unleashed an unprecedented creativity on the part of architects and church officials with regard to form and layout.
In 2018 photographer Jamie McGregor Smith moved to Vienna and experienced the Wotruba Church, admittedly one of the most fascinating brutalist churches. This experience nurtured his desire to discover more of these kinds of modern churches and to get behind the dichotomy of an anti-modern institution and the modern church architecture. The result is “Sacred Modernity - The Holy Embrace of Modernist Architecture”, recently published by Hatje Cantz. The book collects outstanding examples of modernist church architecture from Germany, Austria, Italy, England and Poland, with each church being presented from inside and out. The impressive selection of buildings shows the ingenious spirit with which architects approached the task: audacious concrete constructions, expressive load-bearing structures and a great variety of plans that also tell of the different liturgical requirements established by the parishes. Beyond obvious examples like Gottfried Böhm’s Neviges Pilgrimage Church or Giovanni Michelucci’s Santa Maria Immacolata Jamie McGregor Smith also photographed a number of little-known gems outside metropolitan areas. The churches are organized along characterizing theological terms, a very interesting approach that adds moments of reflection to a visually stunning book.
With that said “Sacred Modernity” deserves nothing less than an enthusiastic recommendation for anyone fascinated with the multi-sensory experience modern churches are capable of providing. A real treat!

Never blogged much about the actual Eva manga, but I wrote down some thoughts while reading, so uh lets do that!
In episode 2 of Evangelion, Shinji kicks off the episode by getting his ass absolutely handed to him by the Angel Sachiel. Just a full on beat down, he is getting figuratively crucified (the literal crucifixion comes later) in this battle. He is about to die, Misato calls out to him...
Tumblr media
...and then match cut transition to Shinji in a hospital bed, complete tranquility:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Throughout the rest of the episode, Misato acclimates Shinji to NERV and generally congratulates him for being a hero, who saved them all with his victory. She does this whole little bit taking him to an observation deck to show him the city, the city he 'protected':
Tumblr media
And this whole time you as the audience are meant to be shaking the (CRTV) screen going "girl he protected jack shit, he was about to die!". These scenes are disconcerting, not simply congratulatory, because of the directorial choice to hold back what actually happened in the fight till the end of the episode; that Shinij was possessed by the Eva, transformed into a monster just as terrible as the Angel, and devoured it. He looked like this piloting Unit-01:
Tumblr media
In the manga, at least - which is how the first arc of the manga ends. The manga does none of this inverted storytelling, instead telling it all straight, while otherwise not really changing many of the details. The Rebuild films did this too by the way - just got rid of the time swap ordering, told it chronologically.
This really bothers me! Because the edit choice is load-bearing; Misato, in episode 2 of the TV show, is lying to Shinji - she is trying to bolster his ego for a cause she herself is just starting to have some real questions about, doubts she is unwilling to tell Shinji because she needs him to pilot. Its even subtly hinted at in her actual (internal) dialogue:
Tumblr media
But she never has any explicit moment where she says this; instead, Kuleshov-style, the edit itself tells you. All of her dialogue is infused with mystery, and then with the reveal the entirety of the episode is recontextualized in your mind. You now question Misato's withholding of the truth, because the truth is at the end of the episode; the edit told you it matters. But since this doesn't happen in the manga, when Misato says stuff like this:
Tumblr media
Which is the actual last sequence of Volume I, its telling you this matters; this is the culminating moment and so it is imbued with truth. Which makes Misato less complicated, and the sequence less interesting.
This is a general trend in the manga overall - scene-for-scene it has many good moments, but its wider concept of how to structure and communicate the story is extremely workhorse (like most manga are). Which is sad because a huge chunk of Eva's strength is not just the conceptual themes or philosophical dialogue or w/e, but the more aggressive, auteur approach to the presentation of that material. And that isn't just trippy visuals; it goes right down to the directing. The same dialogue put on two characters sitting in a room just doesn't work. (Hell, someone tried that once and I happened to write about it!) So its always a little sad to me that adaptations don't carry that forward; I was frustrated by the Rebuild's refusal to play with that aspect much, and at this point resigned to the manga's unwillingness. I get it, the manga is intentionally more chipper, aimed at a younger audience; its tonally coherent. Just sad for me.
The manga has a lot of good parts, don't read this the wrong way; its more about how pieces of Evangelion that maybe don't stand out as much as the loud stuff often get lost in the shuffle.

one post I will make on the palworld thing is this; even if the AI stuff ends up being false (I have seen one post and the only hard proof it offered was "the eyes and mouth on this guy and that guy are the same"; I've also heard the big post of like "AI art" the creator was using was actually a commentary on a buzzfeed article or something) and there's no moral reason to avoid palworld it's still a very unimaginative "edgy pokemon" concept I just really cannot get over little cartoon bears firing AK47s
this is something that would've showed up in a newgrounds animation where pikachu like killed a bunch of people arbitrarily in the early 2000's and the joke is Lol Pokemon With Gun Commits Incredible Violence essentially that said a distaste for nintendo products is fine and a fair stance to take, nintendo is well on the way to becoming video game disney; but monster crown did this 4 years ago in a much less visually and thematically dissonant way, there are Loads of indie monster trainers these days
I additionally think the pro nintendo lobby is not nearly as powerful as everyone seems to think but that's been a consistent issue since video game discourse began so whatever maybe I'm wrong and nintendo is hiring paid actors to shit on palworld on twitter when, if the rumors are true, they have a perfectly functioning plagarism case Right There

Sometimes, details are load-bearing.
A lot of the time, we think of details in something an an extra, a bonus, just a little something fun. But sometimes, they're necessary.
Tumblr media
I bought this headbow at an anime con. I bought it for a few reasons: First, I like Zelda. Second, I thought at the time that it might have been made with a tutorial I made and coming across something in the wild and totally vanilla that was made with a tutorial I made would have been very cool. Third, it was attached to a blind bag, and I am an absolute sucker for blind bags. All in all, it was a good blind bag! I had a lot of fun opening it. But still, the bow bothered me just a little.
Budget handmade bow, not going to complain, but it's also just a good example of why lace can make such a big difference.
Tumblr media
I kind of sloppily sewed some lace onto the bow just to prove the concept. Even though the top of this bow isn't doubled into loops, I sewed the lace as if it was. This meant that I only put lace on the long sides of the top of the bow, and around the three sides on the bottom loop. This is meant to give the illusion that the whole bow is a complete unit tied from one piece of cloth. We all know that it's not, but we like to pretend, right?
I also sewed lace onto the front and the back of the top loops, so that it'd "loop around" and look like the top was looped instead of being a flat rectangle (I'm sorry that I don't have a good way of explaining what this means).
And when the edges of the bow are defined, especially if they're defined in such a way as to build on the "this is just a normal bow tied super well" illusion, you get it looking much more like a bow. You have visual lines breaking up the pattern.
Tumblr media
In addition to visual lines, the texture of the lace physically holds the bow into two sections, keeping it more a bow and less an unidentifiable head wing.
I absolutely love this bow. It's a little different from normal lolita headware, but I didn't really expect it to work super well with lolita when I got it. I'll try out some coords with it and my existing Zelda coord items (of which I have quite a few), but I also just respect the artist's work on it. There's so much on it that's just waiting for an extra little bit to push it over the top, and I want to experiment with it so that I can apply those details to future things that I make.
Also in the blind bag was a necklace that was a tiny glass bottle filled with translucent bows, and that necklace was worth the cost of the blind bag entirely. I love the idea of running around with some kind of magic potion that makes everything more frilly.
So there's just a fun little one. Hopefully, this shows how a small detail can really elevate a piece just beyond the cost of adding that detail.

Btw ALL CRAFTS BENIFIT FROM INCREASING YOUR UNDERSTANDING OF MECHANICAL FORCES AND THE SHAPES OF ENGINEERING.
I grew up with my maternal grandparents visiting every summer with their trailer attatched ( heavy duty, biiig truck needed, deseil, associate the smell with their visits to this day, and the characteristic sound of the idiling engine ) and working with my Engineer ( Computer Science + UI Design, Electrical, HVAC, Boiler operation and troubleshooting, specialization in retrofitting old buildings with large multifloor airflow systems with minimal disturbance to the original structure, later trained to supervise new construction + oversee and assist in the labor of installation on site ) Dad to plan, construct, and install home and barnyard improvements / modifications / upgrades.
Not only were the blocks I played with from age 6 months to 14 years old made from scrap wood with the edges sanded off to make em kiddo safe, I was often Around as Dad and Grandpa were drawing on grid paper, discussing weight distribution, load bearing beams, when a box support is needed, how the square design of a box support is modified and how measurements on paper became the pieces that made a whole heckin chicken coop in one summer. As I got older I was trusted to read off those measurements so no one had to come down off a ladder to check things, and read the tape measure from the bottom and call out appropriate adjustments before a trim line is drawn. Dad goes down, Grandpa goes up, he checks the measurement again and makes his own mark. If they match, they cut. If they don't, they discuss how they made the measurement to troubleshoot why they got different results, and then we did it again to ensure understanding had been reached.
Measure until its consistant, accept human error, accept it happens All The Time, and check things until You Are Certain. THEN trim material.
A similar addage is learned in sewing; measure twice, cut once.
Mathamatics teaches guess and check, a handy principal in fibercrafts of all kinds.
Those scrap blocks I mentioned? Taught me about mechanical forces like gravity, friction, weight distribution across multiple shapes and which shapes built up best without falling over or bracing; all principals I applied later not only in crafting DIY stuff around the house but also within my artistic practice when imagining and arting locations, clothing, and people.
A lot of practical knowledge gets locked behind the barrier of Theoretical Physics ( i.e when its just numbers on paper Theorizing On How A Thing May Work In Real Space ) before an institution will let ya get your brain onto some real instruction. But there's a lotta things you can do to learn these things in your own home, and most are forms of play or creative hobbies.
Near everything you do with your body and brain together benifits both, in skill and theorizing on future intentions as they go from an idea to something others can SEE and sometimes even HOLD IN THEIR HANDS.
I still firmly beleive the ability to idiate upon something until one figures out How To Show It To Someone Else is truely the closest humans get to Actual Magic, and exists somewhere within everything people make or actuate with their physical person. And I think that undefinable Magic is what we call Art. The Arts. Crafting, creative, visual, audio, narrative, culinary, woodworks, masonry, smithing, fiberworks, fabrics, tailoring, and more than I even know to name because the catagory of Things People Imagine And Then Make Real is PRETTY FREAKIN WIDE.
These things are not sperate from the "hard" bodies of study and practice, math used to be considered magical and esoteric, and only became respectable when Accurate Measurement caused less people to die at the Apothocary, birthing the More Respectable Alchemist, and later into just Chemist-- all based on Math; an imagined system applied to the real world, bounded on proven precepts that are applied over and over and over to LITERALLY ANYTHING we can try it on to see If It Still Tracks Or We Missed Something-- thus why Gravity Is A Theory, and why Theory is one of the strongest words in scientific study, physics, and so on; it means It has Survived Years Of Genuine And Strenious Testing, Found Every Way It Was Wrong, And Continue Tweaking And Testing And CALIBRATING Our Imagined Incraments To Measure The World And Think More Accurately About Future Intentions.
Like the practice of all crafts and arts.
I guess this is Art Theory now? 🤷🏼

Hi, dubious disc dev (one of them, that is) here! I can actually provide a bit of insight as to Porygon-Z's development!
You see, before we actually release the updated software, we run it through a computer simulation to look for any visual glitches first. Well, on the new model we found that there was a random apple floating about a foot above it.
We told the higher-ups that it may take a bit to find out why its there, but we were rushed as is and decided to just delete it and publish the update.
... Turns out the apple was VITAL for keeping all the code together, and deleting it caused... well, Porygon-Z. We released a patch later on to improve some of the bugs created, but as of writing this we still dont know how or why the apple was a load-bearing structure in the code.
The more I learn about programming the less I understand

Maximize Charm, Minimize Square Footage: Innovative Interior Design Ideas for Small Spaces in Noida.
Tumblr media
Living large in a small space might seem like an oxymoron, but with a dash of creativity and some clever interior design tricks, your Noida apartment can transform into an oasis of comfort and style. Here at MITS, we specialize in helping you unlock the full potential of your compact abode.
Embrace the Power of Multifunctional Furniture:
Gone are the days of bulky furniture hogging precious real estate. Invest in pieces that serve multiple purposes. Opt for a sofa bed that doubles as a guest room, a coffee table with hidden storage compartments, or a dining table with expandable leaves. Consider ottomans with built-in storage or nesting tables that tuck away neatly when not in use.
Lighten Up with Smart Space-Saving Techniques:
Mirror Magic: Strategically placed mirrors not only reflect light, making your space appear larger, but also create an illusion of depth. Place a large mirror opposite a window to bounce natural light throughout the room.
Folding Wonders: Folding furniture is a lifesaver for small spaces. Invest in a foldable dining table, a wall-mounted ironing board, or even a convertible desk that folds up when not in use.
Verticality is Your Friend: Utilize vertical space to maximize storage. Install floating shelves, bookcases that reach the ceiling, or hanging storage solutions to keep clutter off the floor.
Embrace the Power of Light:
Natural Light is King: Let the Noida sunshine work its magic! Keep windows free of clutter and consider translucent curtains that allow natural light to filter through.
Strategic Lighting: Employ layered lighting to create a sense of spaciousness. Opt for recessed lighting, sconces, and task lighting to illuminate specific areas without overwhelming the room. Consider warm white LED bulbs to create a cozy yet bright atmosphere.
Declutter and Create a Sense of Calm:
Less is More: Declutter ruthlessly! Donate items you no longer need and find clever storage solutions for the essentials. A cluttered space feels instantly smaller.
Soothing Color Palettes: Paint your walls in light, neutral colors. Whites, beiges, and light grays create a sense of airiness and spaciousness. Consider accent walls with calming colors like light blues or greens to add visual interest.
Open Up the Floor Plan:
Embrace Open Floor Plans: If possible, consider knocking down non-load-bearing walls to create a more open and airy feel. Partition spaces with room dividers, curtains, or strategically placed furniture to maintain a sense of separation without sacrificing flow.
Personalize Your Space:
Statement Pieces: Don't be afraid to incorporate a statement piece, like a bold rug or a piece of artwork, to add personality to your space. Just be mindful of the scale and ensure it doesn't overwhelm the room.
Greenery is Good: Plants not only add a touch of life to your space but also act as natural air purifiers. Opt for low-maintenance indoor plants that thrive in small spaces.

Top Quality Drawer Channel Manufacturers
Embracing Efficiency and Style: Slim Line Drawer Channels for Modern Interiors
In the world of interior design, every detail counts, and drawer systems are no exception. As homeowners and businesses alike strive for sleek, functional, and space-efficient designs, Slim Line drawer channels manufacturers have emerged as a game-changer. These innovative solutions combine modern aesthetics with durability, offering a seamless integration into a variety of design schemes.
What Are Slim Line Drawer Channels?
Slim Line drawer channels are specifically designed to provide smooth, effortless functionality while maintaining a minimalist appearance. These channels feature a reduced profile, meaning they take up less space in the cabinetry while offering the same (if not better) performance as their bulkier counterparts.
Not only do they make drawers slide effortlessly, but they also contribute to a cleaner, more sophisticated aesthetic. Slim Line systems are perfect for modern interiors where every detail needs to be both functional and visually pleasing.
The Benefits of Slim Line Drawer Channels
Space Optimization: Slim Line drawer channels are designed to be compact, allowing for a higher degree of space efficiency. With thinner profiles, they provide more storage capacity without sacrificing the overall design of the furniture. This is especially useful in small apartments, kitchens, or commercial spaces where every inch matters.
Aesthetic Appeal: The sleek and minimalist nature of Slim Line drawer channels fits perfectly into contemporary interiors. Whether it's a kitchen, office, or bathroom, these channels offer a smooth, streamlined look that complements modern designs. The reduced hardware footprint ensures that your furniture pieces maintain a clean, uncluttered appearance.
Smooth Functionality: Despite their thin profile, Slim Line drawer channels are engineered to provide smooth and quiet operation. With precision ball-bearing technology, these channels ensure that drawers glide open and shut effortlessly, contributing to a high-quality user experience. This smoothness is crucial in high-traffic areas, like kitchens or workspaces, where ease of access is key.
Durability and Performance: Slim Line drawer channels are crafted from high-quality metals such as steel or aluminum, ensuring robust durability. Even with their slimmer profiles, they’re designed to support significant weight and withstand everyday use. These systems can handle heavy loads without compromising on performance, making them suitable for both residential and commercial applications.
Customizable Options: Slim Line drawer channels come in a range of styles and finishes, allowing manufacturers and designers to select the perfect system for their projects. Whether you’re looking for a soft-close mechanism, self-closing features, or a full-extension option, Slim Line systems can be customized to suit the specific needs of each drawer.
Why Choose Slim Line for Your Drawer Systems?
Tumblr media
Ideal for Modern, Minimalist Designs: If your project focuses on clean lines and open spaces, Slim Line drawer channels are the perfect fit. These channels are discreet yet effective, allowing the design of the furniture itself to take center stage while the hardware remains invisible.
Increased Load Capacity: Many Slim Line drawer channels are designed to support heavier loads than traditional systems, making them ideal for kitchen drawers, filing cabinets, or furniture pieces that need to hold more than just a few light items.
Enhanced Durability: Manufacturers of Slim Line channels use high-grade materials to ensure a long lifespan, even in the busiest homes or commercial environments. These systems are designed to maintain their performance for years, reducing the need for repairs or replacements.
Environmental Efficiency: As the demand for sustainable building materials increases, Slim Line systems offer an eco-friendly solution. The materials used are often recyclable, and the efficiency of the designs means fewer resources are consumed in the production process.
Slim Line Drawer Channels in Various Applications
Residential Kitchens: In modern kitchens, space is often limited. Slim Line drawer channels maximize storage space while offering smooth, soft-closing functionality, making them ideal for kitchen drawers and cabinets.
Office Furniture: In home offices or corporate environments, Slim Line drawer systems are perfect for filing cabinets and desks. The minimal design helps create a more organized and visually appealing workspace, where functionality meets modern design.
Bathroom Cabinets: For bathrooms where space is often tight, Slim Line drawer channels offer a sleek, functional solution for storing toiletries and essentials. The smooth operation and soft-close features ensure ease of use even in smaller spaces.
Retail and Commercial Spaces: Slim Line systems are increasingly popular in retail and commercial furniture due to their efficient use of space and aesthetic appeal. Whether it’s for a display unit or a storage solution, Slim Line channels offer a reliable and stylish option.
Choosing the Right Slim Line Drawer Channels for Your Project
When selecting Slim Line drawer channels manufacturers for your project, consider the following factors:
Weight Capacity: Ensure the Slim Line system you choose is capable of handling the load you intend to place in the drawer. High-end options often support more significant weights without sacrificing smooth operation.
Type of Mechanism: Choose between soft-close, self-closing, or full-extension mechanisms, depending on the needs of your design. Soft-close systems, for instance, prevent slamming and enhance the overall user experience.
Finish and Aesthetic: Slim Line drawer channels come in various finishes, such as matte black, chrome, or brushed steel. Pick a finish that complements the overall style of your furniture and interior design.
Ease of Installation: Look for drawer channels that offer simple installation processes. Many Slim Line systems are designed to be easy to install, reducing time and costs for manufacturers and installers alike.
Conclusion: Elevating Design with Slim Line Drawer Channels
As the demand for cleaner, more efficient designs continues to rise, Slim Line drawer channels are becoming an essential component for modern furniture and cabinetry. Their space-saving design, smooth functionality, and aesthetic appeal make them the ideal choice for any project looking to combine form with function.

8 Benefits of Tree Lopping for Fruit Trees
When it comes to maintaining a fruitful and healthy garden, few practices are as beneficial as tree lopping. While many people associate tree pruning with aesthetic trimming, it is, in fact, a vital part of fruit tree care. Tree lopping, also known as pruning, is the process of selectively removing specific branches to enhance the tree’s overall health, structure, and productivity. For fruit trees, this practice goes beyond mere cosmetic appeal—it directly impacts the tree’s growth, fruit yield, and longevity. Whether you're a seasoned gardener or a novice grower, understanding the numerous benefits of tree loppers Logan is essential for ensuring that your fruit trees not only survive but thrive.
In addition to promoting healthy growth and improving fruit quality, tree lopping can help mitigate potential issues such as overcrowding, disease, and even breakage during storms. By carefully cutting away dead or damaged branches, the tree can focus its energy on developing fresh growth and producing better fruit. This not only maximises the efficiency of the tree’s resources but also ensures that your garden continues to flourish year after year. Furthermore, tree lopping can enhance the aesthetic appeal of your fruit trees, creating a visually pleasing garden space while promoting the long-term health of your trees.
In this article, we’ll dive into eight key benefits of tree lopping for fruit trees, from improving air circulation and sunlight exposure to facilitating easier harvesting. By understanding the importance of regular tree lopping, you’ll be able to make informed decisions that will support your fruit trees’ growth and maximise their productivity.
1. Promotes Healthier Growth
Tree lopping is essential for maintaining the overall health of fruit trees. Over time, fruit trees can accumulate dead, diseased, or damaged branches that not only look unsightly but can also affect the tree’s vitality. Lopping removes these harmful branches, which can otherwise serve as entry points for pests and pathogens. By cutting away diseased or broken limbs, the tree can redirect its energy into producing healthy new growth, fostering a stronger and more resilient tree. Healthy trees are better equipped to combat environmental stresses, making them more resistant to extreme weather conditions and pest infestations.
2. Improves Fruit Yield
A common misconception is that the more branches a tree has, the more fruit it will produce. In reality, too many branches can overcrowd the tree, limiting sunlight and air circulation and causing the tree to focus on sustaining unproductive limbs rather than growing fruit. By carefully lopping away excess branches, you allow the tree to direct its energy toward producing fruit-bearing limbs. This practice improves the quality and quantity of fruit, as it helps the tree allocate its resources more effectively. Moreover, removing older, less productive wood encourages the growth of new, fruitful branches, further enhancing the tree’s ability to produce high-quality fruit.
3. Enhances Tree Shape and Structure
One of the most important benefits of tree lopping is that it helps maintain a healthy, aesthetically pleasing structure. A well-structured tree is one that grows with a balanced distribution of branches, allowing for optimal sunlight penetration and airflow. When fruit trees are left to grow without regular pruning, they can become leggy, unbalanced, or top-heavy. This can result in branches that grow too long and weak, potentially breaking under the weight of the fruit. Lopping encourages a central leader structure, which is the main trunk or stem that serves as the foundation for the tree's growth. This ensures the tree remains upright, strong, and capable of supporting a large fruit load.
4. Reduces the Risk of Breakage
Fruit trees, especially those that produce large, heavy fruit, can be prone to branch breakage, particularly if the tree is overcrowded or poorly pruned. Overgrown branches are more likely to snap under the weight of the fruit or in response to high winds or storms. Tree lopping helps eliminate weak or overly dense limbs, reducing the risk of structural failure. By removing branches that have outgrown their usefulness, you ensure that the remaining branches are well-spaced and strong, able to withstand harsh weather conditions. This also prevents potential damage that could affect the tree’s overall health and productivity in the future.
5. Increases Air Circulation and Sunlight Penetration
Air circulation and sunlight are vital for the growth and development of fruit trees. Without sufficient air movement, moisture can become trapped in the tree’s canopy, promoting the growth of mould, mildew, and fungal diseases. Similarly, if branches are too dense or crowded, sunlight may struggle to penetrate to the inner branches and fruit, stunting their growth. Lopping opens up the tree’s canopy, allowing for better air circulation and improved sunlight exposure throughout the tree. This helps prevent the development of fungal diseases and ensures that all parts of the tree, including the fruit, receive adequate light to mature properly.
6. Facilitates Easier Harvesting
When fruit trees are pruned regularly, harvesting becomes much easier. Overgrown trees can make fruit picking difficult, especially when branches are too high, dense, or tangled. Lopping helps maintain a manageable size for the tree, allowing for easier access to the fruit. By removing excess growth, branches are brought to a more accessible height, reducing the need for ladders or other tools that could be hazardous to use. In addition, pruning ensures that the fruit is evenly spaced out on the tree, making it easier to spot ripe fruit and pick it without damaging the tree.
7. Stimulates New Growth and Fruiting
Fruit trees, like many other plants, respond to pruning by producing new growth. When old or unproductive wood is removed, the tree is encouraged to send out fresh shoots, many of which can develop into productive fruit-bearing branches. This regenerative growth ensures that the tree remains fruitful as it ages. Lopping also helps promote the growth of more lateral branches, which are ideal for supporting fruit. By removing older, less fruitful wood, you make way for the next generation of productive branches, ensuring that the tree continues to produce high-quality fruit year after year.
8. Improves Aesthetic Appeal
While the primary purpose of tree lopping is to enhance the health and productivity of fruit trees, it also contributes to the tree’s visual appeal. A well-pruned tree looks more symmetrical and balanced, with a clear, open structure that enhances its natural beauty. Fruit trees that are regularly lopped are less likely to appear tangled or overgrown, creating a more inviting and attractive feature in your garden or orchard. In addition, aesthetic pruning can help shape the tree in a way that complements the overall design of your landscape, contributing to a more polished and well-maintained outdoor space.
Tree lopping is an essential practice for ensuring the health, productivity, and longevity of fruit trees. Not only does it help maintain the tree’s shape and structure, but it also promotes healthier growth, enhances fruit yield, and reduces the risk of damage caused by weak or overcrowded branches. Furthermore, regular lopping encourages the growth of fresh, fruitful branches, making your tree more productive for years to come. By implementing tree lopping into your regular fruit tree care routine, you’ll ensure your trees remain strong, fruitful, and beautiful, providing bountiful harvests and adding aesthetic value to your property.

Optimized Application of Metal Office Furniture in High-Density Office Spaces
With the continuous development of modern office environments, high-density office spaces have become a popular choice for many companies. Particularly in urban center areas, businesses are facing limited space and high rent costs, making it crucial to maximize the use of available space. In this context, metal office furniture, with its unique functionality, design appeal, and durability, has gradually become an ideal choice for high-density office spaces. This article will explore the optimized application of metal office furniture in high-density office spaces and how it helps businesses enhance space utilization while providing a comfortable and efficient working environment.
1. Space-Saving Advantages of Metal Office Furniture
One of the key advantages of metal office furniture is its structural strength and durability. In high-density office environments, the efficiency of space usage is especially important. Compared to wooden furniture, metal furniture is typically more compact and sturdy, able to support more storage functions while reducing unnecessary space consumption. For example, metal desks, bookshelves, and filing cabinets not only have a streamlined design but also feature higher load-bearing capacities, allowing for more office equipment and file storage, thereby helping companies maximize the use of space.
Tumblr media
2. Flexible Modular Design
Another advantage of metal office furniture lies in its flexible modular design. Many metal furniture pieces are detachable and adjustable, allowing for layout flexibility based on office needs. In high-density office spaces, employee seating and work areas often need to be rearranged based on changes in headcount or space configuration. The modular design of metal office furniture makes this adjustment process simple and efficient. For example, metal desks can be quickly assembled or disassembled based on the number of employees or departmental needs, optimizing the use of office space.
Additionally, the lightweight yet stable nature of metal structures makes the furniture easy to move and rearrange, providing greater flexibility for companies when expanding or reconfiguring space in the future.
Tumblr media
3. Maximizing Storage Space
In high-density office spaces, the demand for storage space is significant. Metal office furniture typically comes with multifunctional storage designs that make efficient use of limited space. Metal filing cabinets, drawer units, and multi-tiered shelves help employees better categorize and store files, personal items, and office equipment, avoiding clutter that can disrupt office efficiency. Due to the durability of metal, these furniture pieces can carry more items and are less prone to damage, making them suitable for long-term use.
Furthermore, some metal office furniture pieces offer additional multifunctionality. For example, metal desks equipped with hooks, storage compartments, and work surfaces can meet both work and storage needs, helping maintain a neat and organized office environment.
Tumblr media
4. Modern Design and Aesthetics
Although the design of metal office furniture emphasizes practicality, its visual appeal should not be overlooked. Metal furniture typically features a clean, modern look, adding a touch of style to the office. In high-density office spaces, modern metal furniture can not only enhance the overall aesthetic of the space but also contribute to improving employees' work motivation and comfort. The sleek lines and glossy finish of metal furniture bring a fresh visual effect to the office, helping to prevent the space from feeling cramped or dull.

5. Durability and Long-Term Use
Durability is especially crucial in high-density office environments, where furniture is frequently used. Metal office furniture is often made from materials such as steel and aluminum, which are not only strong and wear-resistant but also corrosion-resistant, able to withstand frequent use and friction. Furniture in high-density office spaces is often subject to high-frequency use, so opting for metal office furniture ensures long-term, stable performance. This not only helps companies save on furniture replacement costs but also maintains a clean and professional office environment.
