I don't usually post anything beside hotd, mc, the tudors, but
Today I fell in one of my favorite obsessions from when I was younger, this brazilian soap novel called O Clone (the clone), it's a 2001 novel and I watched it much later when I was a teen, but I remember how it influenced and still influences generations and other novel productions.
A quick dive into the plot: Jade lives in Brazil with her mother, who is sick, but her entire family is from Morocco and still lives there. Her mother dies, she goes back to Fez to live with her uncle Ali , cousin Latifa and his governess. Latifah is a little older than her and is like ideal muslim girl (this is an early 2000 production), uncle Ali is arranging a marriage for her, and his chosen groom is Said, it is revealed that Said and Latifah can't marry because plot reasons and so, to not lose the contract, uncle Ali marries Latifah to Said's older brother and later arranges Jade marriage with Said as a way to punish and keep her in line, however she is in love with Lucas and doesn't want to get married. Many events later, she is still married to Said and has a daughter with him, she still is in love with Lucas, and her run away plots always fails because Lucas never moves a finger to be with her. They end up together anyway.
The thing is - Jade, the main character, should have been with her first husband, Said.
So Said is far from the ideal man, he can be forceful and even threatening (as most galant men were written to be at the time this was made), but he was crazy for her and loved Jade very much. Jade often times deceived and used him, but he never left her without anything and always forgave her, until he too got tired of it.
When they got back together in the second half of the novel it was like -- the novel could have ended there I wouldn't mind because they actually worked to get through their differences and were fighting to get back together, they would get over their grievances and past fights to make the most of their story, because Said still loved her, and because Jade finally saw how great he actually was and how she can actually fall in love him.
And then of course she is impulsive once more and goes after one of the other guys (the clone) because she wants her teen fantasy back.
I cannot blame her but the entire novel she passes as childish and immature because of a dream, that already proved to be an illusion, something she couldn't have had. And she could have been better written and better worked if the screenwriter had allowed it.
At the time, the director and screenwriter, the brilliant Gloria Perez was going through a heavy and harsh moment in life, and she wrote the clone as a way to cope with this moment (the death of her daughter), also, Jade's actress was dating the actor who played her romantic interest, and I believe Gloria didn't want to ruin the public preference over them against a better plot of Jade accepting Said over Lucas.
Anyway, Gloria kind of redeemed herself with another great prodution of hers years later so I will let it pass. Call me too rational but, in my head, Jade should have always been with Said.

taking @ritens's Lane out trying to help with sorc brain. not a lot of fun stories from this one, but do have some notes about what did under cut.
He definitely was really spamming just floating around when I first picked him up again, but was better about it when he left (and usually trying to cast while floating when he did), I hope that comes home with him. Generally, caster pawns float trying to get away from enemies, which can kind of make Thundermine and Salamander dodgy on the pawn AI because it casts next to them and usually takes them a while to learn to cast either of those spells without being actively attacked by enemies, and even then they still kind of have to be in danger range of being smacked to be willing. This is also an issue with Iris currently while trying to train his new debilitation focused setup, though he's less likely to float and more likely to get hit and then grab and toss enemies (I blame this on was Mint until recently, and she was so aggressive about everything, Iris is just going to be like that).
LANE REALLY LIKES TO USE HIGH HAGOL. He's very good about using it on his own, and will drop everything if he sees someone else casting it to come sync it. This isn't too bad, High Hagol can be cast with some range and is a decent AOE as well as being possibly quickspelled, but feels like a weird pick for the AI to want to cast with priority when has the much faster casting High Levin available that is better for smaller enemies.
Speaking of High Levin, it took a lot of baiting, but got him more consistently casting it both synced and independently in my game (my favorite in these is the one where can see him independently dropping it right as Rose was getting beat to the ground by goblins). Hopefully he carries that home with him, it's a very solid quick pinch spell that can anti pretty much most non-boss enemies or at least stagger them back until others can get to them.
I stubbornly tried to train him and Iris to use High Seism on bosses more consistently, it's a good spell to use knock them over. Pawn AI is really, really cranky about using it, they both kept wanting to use High Hagol more, including on golems at first. While I didn't get any drake spawns while trying to really train this spell, they did start using it sometimes to tip ogres and minotaurs. They also used it immediately on the last golem I took them to and took out all but one of its medals, then both shoved the golem to knock it over, and Lane independently cast it again to break the last medal that had been on its head. I'll take that as a success, and again hopefully he carries that learning home.

Not sure if you answer these types of asks but I have Oberon brainrot and I was wondering how do you think Guda and Oberon would make out?
Oh I will absolutely answer this type of ask.
The answer is that they contain multitudes though. First/second ascension Oberon still acts out his prince role, he hates every second of it but he'll still play into it. Think romance movie kisses, the too-perfect-to-be true kind. Looks idyllic to onlookers! Kind of hollow for both participants.
Third ascension doesn't care, so it's a lot messier because honestly he's frustrated to be in this situation in the first place and even more frustrated to not be hating it. There's teeth, there's claws, there's also swatting the occasional bug that wanders out of his cape and into Guda's hair but that part isn't intended.
And Guda after all that? Guda's not taking any shit from either Oberons. Guda has tamed worse - have you seen their Servants? They're the epitome of "shut up and make out with me", whether it's "shut up (you're being annoying)" or "shut up (stop thinking so much)". It's not an aggressive kind of kiss, but it's insistent and it works wonders.
