Or (because it is, actually, the Left using “coded language” that is programming you to blind bigotry and hatred):
— Republicans don’t say they hate gay people because: they don’t hate gay people.
…but if you’re molesting children or exposing them to sexual content then, yeah, they have a problem with you. Because you are harming children. I’m sure you’ve heard of David Rubin or Richard Grinnell or Scott Presler. This is, in no way, a comprehensive list but they are three openly gay men who are prominent in the MAGA movement.
The real question is why do leftists always lump gay people with groomers & pedophiles? Do you think all gay people are groomers and pedophiles? Because there is a difference.
— Republicans don’t say they hate Jews because: they don’t hate Jews.
The amount of cognitive dissonance it must have taken to write this bullet item is, frankly, astounding. Get your story straight, leftists: Do you hate the Jews or not? I thought you guys were firmly in the 🇵🇸Palestinian🇵🇸 camp. You do know that the slogan, “from the river to the sea” is a call for genocide against the Jews?
It’s also telling that you associate the “New World Order” with Jews — are you telling us something we Republicans don’t grasp? Klaus Schwab, the leader of the World Economic Forum (WEF), has ties, through his father, to Hitler’s Nazi (National Socialist) party. As do the Thunburgs, Merkles, and many others in the international Globalist Left. George Soros, while Jewish, worked for the Nazis during WWII. In fact, he described, the time he spent dispossessing Jews of their property and sending them to death camps as, “the happiest time of his life”. So Republicans (particularly MAGA Republicans) don’t like Nazism, or socialism in any form. To quote Donald Trump, “the United States will never be a Socialist nation” and, while we do acknowledge that a lot of the Socialists out there are secular Jews, there is a difference. Not all Jews are socialists. I give you Mark Levin, Dennis Prager, Jared Kushner, and (by marriage) Ivanka Trump), Ben Shapero, etc. — this is really a long list.
— Republicans don’t say they hate black people because: they don’t hate black people.
Thomas Sowell arguably is, and has been for over 30 years, the intellectual leader of the modern conservative movement. I have long been a fan of his and he is, by far, my most quoted person. He also happens to be black. The Republican Party has a long history of great, black, men who’ve been shaping our party since the days of Frederick Douglass: Booker T. Washington, Martin Luther King Jr., Walter Williams, etc. Today we have Clarence Thomas, Thomas Sowell (mentioned above), Ben Carson, Tim Scott, etc.
But, again, the real question is, why do you leftists always lump black people with thugs and looters? Do you think all black people are Criminals? Because there is a difference. I think we are seeing a pattern.
Republicans want a civil society. We understand that the only antidote to lawlessness is either moral restraint or a police state. We promulgate moral restraint (predominantly, but not exclusively, Christian values) to avoid the inevitable authoritarianism that must result from the chaos of lawlessness — those that cannot govern themselves are destined to be governed by others. Enforcing laws, attaching consequence to lawless behavior, is a proven way to encourage restraint — observe what happened in California when the State decided to not enforce shoplifting laws. We also know that the left craves dictatorship. Van Jones, before he was brought into the Obama administration, used to lecture about the left’s strategy of achieving a dictatorship to fellow leftists: He called it, “bottom up, then top down.” — create so much lawlessness and disorder that the average American would beg for a police state to restore order.
— Republicans don’t say they hate Hispanic people because: they don’t hate Hispanic people.
You do know that Donald Trump garnered a majority of the male Hispanic vote (and 42% of the overall Hispanic vote) in the last election? The Hispanic community is the MAGA Republican community. It seems to be lost on the left that the Texans who fought for independence against Mexico were predominantly, overwhelmingly predominantly, Hispanic; that the vast majority of Hispanic Americans came to the country legally; that the majority of Hispanics are Christians (Catholics) with strong family values. Of course it escapes you, because you’re leftists who reduce everyone to stereotypes so you can pit them against each other in invented class warfare narratives. What you are trying to conflate is criminal invaders (it is a felony to cross into the United States illegally), Chinese military, Muslim terrorist cells, human traffickers, drug Cartels, gang members (like MS-13) with Hispanic immigrants — hoping we don’t notice the slight of hand.
Immigrants, legal, vetted, naturalized immigrants are the best of us. They tend to be more patriotic, more law abiding and all around better citizens than the average run of the mill citizen. Not so illegals, however. Here’s a chart generated from data taken from the 2020 U.S. sentencing Commission report (things have only gotten much worse since then):
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/c4da48d628df7396df4c789fe6b296b6/b3b19d09f8f54d54-0c/s540x810/8d7bbdaaf76326bb625fc1460aaaa5626e61e16b.jpg)
So, again, knowing that a lawless society eventually becomes a police state, Republicans want immigration laws enforced, as does a majority of the Hispanic Community who, by the way, are not illegals nor MS-13 Gang members (the only group we Republicans have referred to as “animals” — their motto is, after all, “kill, rape, control).
And, yet again, this beggars the real question: why do you leftists always lump Hispanic people with illegals and MS-13? Do you think all Hispanic people are Criminals? Because there is a difference. Are you seeing the pattern yet? P.S. — What was the term the DNC used to use for the Hispanic community? Oh yeah, the “taco” vote — yeah, sure, you guys aren’t the real racists.
— Republicans don’t say they hate women because: they don’t hate women.
At this point, I think I could stop — I’ve made my point — but, knowing how deceitful leftists are, I suspect what I fail to address, will be used as confirmation of their lies. I have to say the term “femoid” is new to me. I’ve never heard it. Is that some new perversion of the language to try to include transsexual men as women? Because they’re not, they’re men — it is encoded in every cell of their body. As for “sluts”, and most of the other pejorative language here, the word means something. It used to mean sloven, lazy, unkempt, dull witted, prone to bad judgment and still carries some of that but now in the context of sexual indiscretion and moral judgement. I’m not a fan of sluttishness, in men or women, but at least I can define the term “woman” — can you? It’s not lost on me that what you’re really trying to do, through legerdemain, is equate pro-life with “hating women” and how apt then to use the term “slut” to do it! It means that you know that over 99% of abortions are done just as a lazy, and monstrous, form of birth control by women, so denatured from their humanity that they murder babies, they could easily not have conceived, simply by choosing to not masturbate on a penis. Slut seems an apt term here. It seems such people have consciously rejected everything noble and special about being a woman. So we have the left, with its sacrament of abortion, trying to erase the very definition of “woman” opening the door to rape, murder and abuse reducing “biological” women to inferior men, versus Republicans who value and protect life and see individuals as intrinsically different and interdependent: men are not women; and women are not men. In a meritocracy the best person for the job gets the job.
Certainly, you are not saying that all women are “sluts”, are you?
If we can agree to that, then we can agree that valuing women, and women’s rights, is more than ensuring their right to kill their babies. Frankly, I’m not convinced “sluts” earn any special rights. Valuing women should be about a society protecting women from the natural inequities that come from living amongst a physically stronger and more aggressive gender and, in that context, providing as many opportunities for women as practicable.
Have you ever noticed how many Women there are in positions of power in the Republican Party?
— Republicans don’t say they hate democracy because… well, wait, we do say that: Pure democracies always lead to tyranny. We live in, and we Republicans fight to preserve (hence “conservative”), a Democratic Republic:
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/48db7b5a9d4208a1f9a6ebbd313ba08a/89211a66499689ae-dc/s640x960/bd827dd07b3202118be5f929520e0ff0b60a104c.jpg)
Republicans deliberately use coded language to trick people to vote for them and radicalize their group. Many don't even realize they're radicalized or what they're saying is even racist. This is why they think the Left is "over reacting" because the either know they're using coded language and don't care, or they don't know anything at all.

pairing: paige bueckers x fem!reader
content: language, kinda silly, kinda rushed
wc: 5.9k
synopsis: For you and Paige, the line between “friends” and “something more” wasn’t always this blurry. You weren’t quite sure how you got here, and if you were being completely honest, you didn’t know if you were brave enough to ever cross that line fully. It’s not until Paige ropes you into a Valentine’s Day couples contest you realize, with the two of you, that line never really existed at all.

You and Paige weren’t always like this. There used to be a clear boundary in your friendship, a strictly platonic one where her embrace didn’t make your heart race and where her mischievous smile didn’t fill you with an exasperation that bordered on endearment. You didn’t always wear her jersey at games, didn’t always keep her favorite ice cream stocked in your apartment for nights she came over to binge watch the same show the both of you have probably seen a combined thousand times, didn’t always confuse where you begin or where she ends. There used to be a time where the two of you weren’t so inexplicably intertwined in the fabric of each other’s lives.
If anyone asked, you wouldn’t be able to identify when everything shifted – when your feelings transformed into what they are now. It just happened. The realization was as easy as waking up next to her on the couch, your legs tangled under a blanket far too small for the both of you, her arm tight around your waist to prevent you from falling off of the cushions entirely. It was as easy as the spare toothbrush you keep in your bathroom because she sleeps over so often, as easy as the drawer you have in her room because sometimes her dorm is just closer than your apartment.
So maybe it was kind of inevitable that ‘you and Paige’ turned into a ‘You & Paige.’ The two of you have a simple understanding. You keep her grounded, she encourages you to dream a little bigger. You talk, she listens. You round each other out in so many ways that you’re not the least bit surprised by how many people think that you and Paige are dating. If anything, they’re more surprised when you correct them, saying, “She’s just my best friend.”
You’re content to take your feelings for her to the grave. Maybe you would get over her eventually. She’s Paige Bueckers. She has a national championship and the upcoming draft to focus on and you have your senior thesis due at the end of the semester. The both of you have a lot on your plates – you care for her too much to complicate things for her, even if that means putting your own feelings on the back-burner.
You’re sitting on your couch, twelve pages into your paper, sifting through the twenty-eight (yes, twenty-eight) tabs you have open for your research when you hear your door knob jiggle. You don’t think too much of it, trying to stay focused on the task in front of you before you give up and start scrolling through social media again. However, your discipline doesn’t last for too long because the familiar rhythm of footsteps could only belong to one person. You look up to find Paige making her way into your living room like she owns the place (which she may as well, considering how often she’s around), depositing her duffle bag on the armchair. You greet her, returning to your work, but you feel the couch dip under her weight as she takes a seat next to you.
And then she sighs. Loudly. Dramatically, like she’s begging for your attention. Like you’re not busy. You glance at her from the corner of your eye, finding her staring straight at you, but she says nothing. A few beats pass. You add a new sentence to your paper, pausing to go back and find the reference page. She sighs again, more purpose and intent behind it this time, and your lips quirk slightly. Still, she says nothing, and the silence stretches on for so long that you’re sure she’s given up on trying to annoy you.
You write one more sentence before she leans over, sprawling out across your body, chin pressing into your keyboard. Your eye twitches as a long string of ‘M’s takes over your Word document. Paige sighs again, sounding forlorn, like a kicked puppy, and you know you’re not going to get anything done unless you entertain her.
“Okay,” you say, pulling your computer out from under her head, making sure to save your paper before you close the lid. “What’s wrong?”
Her face brightens almost immediately. “I am so glad you asked,” she states. “So, I’m walkin’ through campus today, right?”
“As one does.”
She hums. “And there’s a shit ton of tabling outside the student union. Frats, clubs, some vegan guy giving out pamphlets –”
“Paige,” you interrupt, raising a brow. “The point?”
“Oh.” She nods, collecting her thoughts. “So there was this club – forgot who they were, lowkey, there was a lot of letters – but on Friday, they’re hostin’ a Valentine’s Day contest and the first place prize is insane. I’m talking gift cards, cookie decorating kits, I think there was even a coupon in there for a fucking spa trip, or some shit, but you get the point, yeah? I wanted to sign us up for it.”
You had to admit – you were a little intrigued by it. Between your class work and Paige and her teammates giving you an aneurysm every week, you were in dire need of a spa trip and a little bit of relaxation. But more than anything else in the world, you knew Paige. You recognized that gleam in her expression – it was a feigned nonchalance, like she was being slick and trying to hide it. “What’s the catch?” you ask bluntly.
She laughs, the sound more surprised than amused, and her head shifts in your lap to gaze up at you. You try to ignore the way it sets off a swarm of butterflies in your belly. “What makes you think there’s a catch?” she asks.
“You’re Paige Bueckers,” you state. “There’s always a catch. Like I knew there was a catch when you asked me if I would hide fourteen blonde wigs in my apartment.”
“They were for CD!” she argues. You narrow your eyes at her and she huffs a little, amused, her lips quirking into a radiant smile. “A’ight. I guess you got a point.” You hum, because of course you do. Her expression turns serious as she sighs, for real this time. “It’s a couple’s contest,” she admits. “But hear me out, okay?”
“I don’t think I have much of a choice,” you grumble, but your mind is racing.
“There’s a couple rounds,” she explains. “Like, the first round is trivia. How well do you know your partner, type shit. They score you, then they eliminate the people who don’t know shit about their partners. Second round is teamwork. They’ll give you a couple of puzzles and the most points will go to the teams who work well together and solve the puzzle quickly. More eliminations, then the partners are separated and they’re asked questions about each other – about what, I’on know. That should be the final round of eliminations and then the remaining couples are ranked based on points and prizes are given. Light work.”
“Light work?” you echo, a little self-deprecating. “Paige, we aren’t a couple.”
“Well, not exactly,” she concedes. “But we know each other pretty well. And can you really say no to the spa coupon?”
You bite your lip, sighing as you truly contemplate it. She’s got you there. The prize itself is worth the heartache that will come with pretending like you and Paige are actually dating. “You sure we can handle it?” you ask.
She pats your side, almost ignorant of the way it sends electricity coursing down your spine. “Duh,” she says like it’s obvious, her lips growing into a confident, assured smile. “We’re a dream team, baby. We got this.”
You could only hope so.
You nervously adjust your dress as you and Paige stand outside of the large room that the Valentine’s Day contest was taking place in. You spent the entire week leading up to Valentine’s Day an anxious wreck – part of you was worried that you would slip up and say something that you would come to regret, maybe say something a little too real. You had to keep reminding yourself that you and Paige were playing a part and once that gift basket was in your hands, then things could go back to normal.
The two of you dedicated the better part of the week to perfecting your cover story. How you met, where you met, how long you’ve been together, all of the cheesy romance milestone moments that you were certain you’d be asked about. You mutually decided to not get too creative as maintaining the lie would become even more difficult, but you were confident in your ability to sell a story.
“You ready?” Paige asks you, drawing you from your racing thoughts as she squeezes your hand gently. You didn’t even realize her hand had slipped into yours. Now that you’re aware of it, it’s all you can think of. Her hand is strong, enveloping yours completely, and it brings you a calming peace you weren’t even aware that you’d been seeking out. Feeling yourself relax, you meet her eyes and nod, trying not to smile too hard when she beams at you.
As she leads the two of you inside the auditorium, you do your best to not stare too much at her. She’s dressed simply yet elegantly; donning a fitting suit that’s a light pink in color in honor of the occasion, the fluorescent lights overhead reflecting off of her stunning chains and the rings adorning her fingers. Her hair is tied back in her formal slick-back, the diamonds in her ears sparkling, and you really have to drag your eyes off of her. You’d already spent so much of the drive over staring at her and you’re sure she’d caught you a few times but was too nice to say anything to you.
The event had a decent turn out. You count fourteen couples at most, fifteen including you and Paige, although you couldn’t really tell if that was good or bad. Beating fourteen other real, actual, dedicated, in-love couples was totally manageable. So what if you and Paige weren’t actually together, but you were the most convincing pair of best friends the world had ever seen? She said you could do it, and damn it if you weren’t going to get that spa treatment.
The auditorium, however, was decorated to the nines. Lights and streamers were strewn about, various complementing shades of pinks and lilacs matching the Valentine’s Day themes. The tables were covered in pink tablecloths with gorgeous centerpieces. Honestly, you had to give props where they were due – this club has gone all out for this Valentine’s Day event, although you’re sure they probably splurged their semesterly budget on all of the amenities.
Before you or Paige have the chance to say anything to each other, you’re approached by a young woman wearing a pink polo shirt with the club's name and logo emblazoned on the chest. UConn, UMatter. You glance quickly at Paige, trying not to let the amusement show on your face as you remember her words – ‘There was a lot of letters.’ She was so full of shit. “Hi guys!” the young woman greets enthusiastically. “Thanks so much for signing up. What’s the last name?”
“Bueckers.”
The girl nods, scanning her clipboard before finding Paige’s name. “Okay, perfect. Let me show you guys to your table.” She leads you diligently through the room, craning her head over her shoulder to explain. “Madelyn’s gonna be around soon to walk you guys through the trivia section once we start, alright? She’ll let you guys know everything you need.”
You and Paige thank the club member and she offers you two one last smile as the two of you sit down next to each other. Paige’s hand finds your knee, almost subconsciously, and you try to find your dignity. It’s then that you notice the placecard in front of you – elegant script reading TEAM BUECKERS. With a quiet laugh, you nudge Paige’s elbow, drawing her attention to the paper. “‘Team Bueckers,’ huh?” you ask her teasingly. “You forget about me?”
“Never,” she swears. “I think they assign the names based on who registered. Trust me, I had a name lined up and everything. We were gonna be PB & Slay.”
You snort. “I’m Slay?”
“No,” she deadpans. “You’re PB. Keep up, please.”
“Of course,” you say obviously, like it’s definitely your fault. “I’ll do better next time.” She squeezes your knee under the table, smiling wryly at you.
Once everyone filters in, the girl who’d greeted you at the door makes her way to the front of the room, adjusting the microphone. She introduces herself as the president of the UConn, UMatter club, explaining some of their objectives and goals for the spring semester – you tune out a lot of it, which you’ll probably feel bad for later, but you weren’t here for the club recruitment. You were here for the pedicure that was calling your name this weekend. She makes it through the rest of her opening remarks, officially announcing the beginning of the first challenge: trivia. Several club members make their way to designated tables and a short, brunette girl takes a seat in front of you and Paige.
“Hey, guys,” she says, grinning widely and handing the both of you dry erase boards and a marker each. “I’m Madelyn. I’m gonna walk the two of you through today’s challenges. We’ll go back and forth – you answer one, then the other, so on and so forth. If your answers are the same, then you’ll get a point. Ready?” You and Paige hum affirmatively. “Alright. Question for Paige – when is your partner’s birthday?”
Paige huffs, her lips quirking into a smile as she uncaps her marker. “Light work,” she murmurs as she writes her answer down. “It’s a national holiday.” You roll your eyes as Madelyn laughs. Paige flips the dry erase board around, showcasing it to you and Madelyn, and you nod as Madelyn awards you both one point.
“Same question for you,” Madelyn says to you. “When is Paige’s birthday?”
You uncap your marker and write down your answer. October 20, 2001. “The world hasn’t known peace since,” you murmur under your breath, drawing laughter from Paige. You flip your board around and Paige nods smugly.
“Two for two,” Madelyn states. “Next question for Paige. What trait of yours is your partner’s favorite?”
You and Paige exchange a glance, her brow raising teasingly. She writes down her answer and you do the same, eventually flipping your boards over for the reveal. The two of you hadn’t exactly prepared well to answer this one, so you were hoping that you and Paige were on the same wavelength. You lean forward, glancing at her whiteboard, and smiling with relief when you see her answer: she likes my energy. Paige’s smile is smug, but there’s an underlying softness in her eyes. “Don’t laugh at me,” you huff, trying to explain. “You just — you have this way about you, like you’re kind, warm, you make people smile, and you always support them. You’re just genuinely good and, I don’t know, I really like that about you.”
Paige’s smile isn’t any less confident, although she seems a little bashful now, her cheeks tinging pink. “Three for three.” she says.
Madelyn tries to stifle her grin, but it’s clearly not working. “Next question is for you. When Paige is having a rough time, how do you help her relax?”
“With great difficulty,” you gripe, making Paige and Madelyn snort as you write your actual answer. By forcing her to chill the fuck out. You and Paige flip your boards, hers reading a much politer She makes me do nothing all day. Madelyn nods, awarding you the point, but you hardly pay her any mind as you meet Paige’s eyes. “You do too much,” you say, which makes her groan. “You overwork yourself and you microdose a burnout and I have to make you sit down and remember that you’re human.”
“You’re worse than me!” she points out.
You sniff. “This is about you,” you declare, “not me.” Paige rolls her eyes fondly, but she can’t help her laughter.
“Next question,” Madelyn says, grinning. “Paige, what did you guys do on your first date?”
This was a question that the two of you had prepared for. You both decided that a little bit of the truth went a long way and the truth was that you and Paige had no shortage of quasi-dates that you could easily draw from. You tried not to think too hard about that as the two of you write down your answers. You turn your boards, revealing similar responses of ‘we went to her dorm and made dinner together after one of her games.’
You glance at Paige and she sighs. “Don’t start,” she pleads.
“I’m actually a little invested now,” Madelyn chirps, which makes you grin and makes Paige bury her head in her hands.
“All I’ll say is that Paige shouldn’t be in the kitchen without supervision but I really admire her, um, willingness to get creative,” you say kindly. Your best friend pinches your thigh under the table and you jerk back, laughing. Not wanting to embarrass her in front of a stranger, you leave it at that, although you smile at Paige like you’re the only two at the table. “I had a good time, though. She made it memorable.” She smiles back at you, something tender that has your heart constricting.
The both of you knew the truth, though. Paige was not a good cook. She doesn’t make terrible food — dinner was delicious, but Paige is chaotic and an actual hazard. Watching her chop an onion hurt something deep inside you although she’d seemed so proud of herself. You didn’t have the heart to make fun of her.
“Five for five,” Madelyn says, drawing your attention back to her. “Next question for you. Who confessed to who?”
You and Paige lock eyes again, a silent conversation passing between the two of you, and you write down her name. You turn your boards, Paige’s name written on the both of them and you smile to yourself. “She was pretty oblivious,” Paige says, referring to you, and your smile falls as your jaw hits the ground. “I dropped so many hints and she just didn’t pick up on them. I eventually got tired—”
“Desperate,” you cut in.
“Tired,” she emphasizes, smirking at you, “so I planned out this huge romantic thing and at the end, she still didn’t understand so I told her straight up.”
You roll your eyes. “Maybe you’re just not as slick as you think,” you tell her.
“Nah,” Paige says. “I’m super romantical.”
“Sure,” you concede.
Madelyn stifles her smile. “Alright. Two more questions for both of you. Paige, what is your partner’s pet peeve?”
“If you get this wrong,” you grumble, hearing Paige snicker as the two of you write down your answers. After you flip your boards, she grins proudly when your answers line up.
“She hates not being taken seriously,” Paige recites. “She’s an English major. People always think it’s just easy or unimportant shit, like reading and writing papers, but she actually does a lot of interesting analysis and stuff that I never even considered. I’ll admit I was a little ignorant but she set me straight.”
“Wait, I didn’t know you thought that,” you say, honestly confused.
She shrugs, a little bashful. “I talk a lot but I listen. Sometimes when you leave the room, I’ll read your paper just so I can ask better questions. You get all… glowy. And… I’on know. I like seeing you happy.”
You blink once at her, genuinely touched, and if you weren’t head over heels for Paige before then you definitely are now. She squeezes your knee again, her smile crooked yet tender. Damn it. You are hopeless.
“That’s so sweet.” You’re a little shocked by Madelyn’s voice, but you clear your throat, refocusing. “Next one for you. What’s Paige’s least favorite season?”
“That’s easy,” you say, writing your answer down. Paige does the same. When you flip your boards, you glance at Paige’s, smiling wryly. “Paige hates spring. She has really bad allergies and all of the pollen is honestly a death sentence, so she’ll get all congested and sneezy and will spend a good two weeks bitching about it and how it makes her Jeep dirty.”
You glance at Paige, waiting for her to say something, but she just shrugs with a smug expression. “Last question for Paige,” Madelyn says. “What is something your partner does to show her love for you?”
Neither of you say anything, but Paige stares at you thoughtfully, another silent conversation passing between you. You don’t need to think about your answer as you write it down. On cue, you both flip your boards, Paige’s reading simply, She takes care of me. You can’t help the way your heart swells, a fond smile overtaking your face. “Before you, I wasn’t really the… you know, the receiver, I guess. Always in control, always expected to lead. You make me feel like I can just be me, which is really hard sometimes.” Paige laughs off the vulnerability, but you see right through it – the painful honesty.
“We’re equals,” you remind her, nudging her leg with your knee. “We take care of each other.”
“Yeah,” she agrees, her voice soft as she gazes at you. “I’m glad that we do.”
You spot Madelyn out of the corner of your eye, which sobers you up quickly. She smiles. “You guys are so cute,” she gushes. “Final question for you and we’re done with this round. What is Paige’s love language?”
You feel Paige’s stare on you as you write, but you don’t glance back at her. You can hear the scribble of her marker, her capping it. When you’re finished, you finally look at her, taking in the soft expression on her face, and despite yourself, a smile grows on your face too. Together, you turn your boards, your answers being the exact same once more — quality time and physical touch. “Ten for ten, baby,” you croon, raising your hand for her to smack her palm against.
“Great job!” Madelyn says. “Let me just go submit these scores and I’ll be back to walk you guys through the puzzle round after eliminations. Sit tight.” She offers the two of you a quick grin before she’s walking off.
“Ten for ten,” Paige repeats, nudging you a little. “We’re like that?”
“I guess we’re actually kinda good at this friends thing,” you retort, although part of you wishes you were anything but.
Paige’s subsequent grin is far too knowing, like she has a trick up her sleeve. “Maybe a little.”
You laugh a little under your breath, adjusting your dress and leaning back in your chair to get comfortable. Before you know it, the scores are officially in. You and Paige had a perfect one, so you weren’t all too worried about getting eliminated in the first round, but five unlucky couples ended up leaving. The two of you watched from afar, trying not to stare too hard at the retreating couples, although they made it hard. One girl walked out crying, gesturing wildly as her partner trailed behind her, a desperate expression on her face. Another one was pure anger, slamming the door behind her. You didn’t think that this club contest would get people so riled up, but you considered that it was probably the realization that your partner truly didn’t know anything about you. You just lucked out with Paige – she understood you.
Madelyn returns quickly and cuts straight to the point. She instructs you and Paige to stand up, handing the both of you a towel, and adjusts your arms until you’re holding the towels perpendicular to each other, almost intertwined. “The goal here is to separate from each other, but it can be tricky because the towels will tangle you up. We’re looking to see how fast you can solve this puzzle and how well the two of you work together. Are you guys ready?” You and Paige nod and Madelyn grins again. “Alright. You can start.”
Instantly, the room around you two is sheer pandemonium. The couples around you are moving quickly, trying to untangle themselves, but it’s clear that the panic is settling in. You and Paige exchange a glance, laughing to each other softly. “Game plan?” she asks you.
“We need to get these like…not perpendicular,” you offer helpfully, and Paige nods, adjusting her arms. The angle change makes your towels bunch up and twist at their centers.
“Spin around,” she instructs. You do as so, the towels untwisting around the middle. You pause to analyze your situation, trying to plan out the moves in your head as Paige does the same.
“Okay, bring your towel over my head and let me step through it.” After that move, the both of you glance down, taking in your situation.
Paige hums. “The rest is easy,” she says. You nod in agreement, a silent understanding passing between the two of you and you move in tandem, twisting and shifting and stepping up until you’re both finally separating from each other in record time, having completed the puzzle. “We’re like that?” she asks you again, her expression smug and satisfied in a way that’s only comparable to when she’s on the court and her lips are curling after sinking a contested three point shot.
“Dream team,” you remind her, letting the victory wash over you, clapping your hand against hers, although she doesn’t immediately release you, squeezing your hand with a proud smile.
“I don’t think I’ve actually seen anyone solve it that quickly,” Madelyn admits. “Or that calmly.” As soon as she says it, a commotion from the other side of the room draws your attention. There’s one couple that are twisted so unnaturally that it looks like they’re playing Twister, but it seems that the girl gets tired of the shenanigans because she drops her towel and storms out with a frustrated yell. “Case in point.”
You laugh and Madelyn walks away again to tally the points and make their final eliminations. Once everything is set, five couples remain out of the initial fifteen. After the last challenge, two couples will be eliminated once more and the remaining three will be given prizes in order of points. You and Paige were determined to finish strong – if the first two challenges were any indicator, you two had this in the bag. True to Paige’s word, the couples were being split up for the last challenge, and she offers you a competitive smile as Madelyn whisks her away.
You pass the time on your phone although Paige isn’t gone for long. However, what does shock you is the sudden bashfulness that’s clear as day on her features, like the last challenge had made her confess something important or she had to be vulnerable. You can’t help the sudden worry that seizes your body, but Paige rests a hand on your hip, squeezing you once with a confident smile. It couldn’t be that bad.
Madelyn leads you into an adjacent room where the president of the club is sitting at a table waiting for you. She smiles when you enter, motioning to the seat across from her, and it feels strangely like entering the principal’s office in elementary school, like you’re in trouble for something. The club president doesn’t spare any time for pleasantries and instead cuts right to the chase, something that you’re grateful for.
“I’m not gonna take up anymore of your time, but after seeing you and your partner perform so well in this contest, I only have two questions for you,” she explains. “This is our second year running this contest and no one has scored as high as you two have, which is kind of insane because the third round scores haven’t been added yet.” You smile politely, honestly unsure of what to say, but the club president continues. “How long have the two of you been together?”
“Going on three months,” you respond, thinking back to the timeline you and Paige had agreed on, hoping your voice doesn’t shake. You are a little surprised by how real your next words feel. “We were best friends for a really long time before then – we still are. Paige is just…that kind of person that makes you feel like you’ve spent forever with her, you know?”
The club president hums, agreeing. She pauses before glancing up at you, studying your features. “What’s something that you haven’t told your girlfriend, but you would want her to know?”
You hardly need the time to think about your answer, responding, “That I love her.” The club president’s expression softens, a smile growing on her face. “We haven’t, um, gotten there yet, but I mean it. I wanna make it perfect for her. She’s given so much to me in the short time we’ve been together and in the time we were friends. And she just…she means everything to me.”
She smiles. “I think you guys are perfect for each other.”
Despite yourself, you smile, a blush spreading across your cheeks. “I think so, too.”
After your solo questioning wraps up, you meet Paige at your table and you offer her a bashful grin, similar to the one she’d offered you when she returned. You don’t have the chance to say anything else to her as the final round of eliminations are being announced. You and Paige are spared, which doesn’t surprise you, and the two eliminated couples take their loss with dignity as they exit. Paige links her hand with yours – final three. In third place, Team Parker. In second…Team Hayes, which means that first place can only be –
“Team Bueckers.”
You and Paige relax immediately, high fiving each other in celebration. What you’re not fully expecting is the tight hug that Paige pulls you into, whispering a fond good job into your ear, although you can’t help the way you soften, sinking into her embrace. She leads you to the center of the room to collect your goodie basket. The various club members send you off with their congratulations, too, and you pretend to not notice the slick wink that Madelyn shoots you as you and Paige walk out.
The night air is cool, making you shiver slightly, and Paige doesn’t hesitate before she’s sliding off her blazer and settling it over your shoulders. You smile gently at her. “You won’t be cold?” you murmur.
“Nah,” she promises, nudging you. “I can handle it. You, though? I’on know.”
“That’s no way to treat someone who just won you these spa coupons,” you say, reaching into the gift basket to wave said coupons in the air. “C’mon, I clutched up, you can’t lie. And to think you wouldn’t have even had a partner for this if you didn’t rope me into it. I think we played our parts pretty well.”
Paige laughs gently, a tinkling sound that carries over the drag of the wind. “You still don’t get it, do you?” she asks, but there’s no true offense behind her words.
You stare at her in confusion. “Get what?” you respond.
“Do you remember that question Madelyn asked you earlier?” Paige says, her steps slowing, tilting her head down to look at you. The street lights reflect off of her face so beautifully, the blue of her eyes illuminated by the soft light. You can’t help the way your heart constricts at the sight. “‘Who confessed to who?’” You hum, urging her to go on. “You remember what I said? That you were oblivious and I dropped a lot of hints you didn’t pick up on?”
The gears in your brain spin for a few revolutions before everything clicks into place. “Oh my God,” you breathe out. “Are you–”
“Confessing?” she says, her lips quirking into a smile. “Yeah.”
“You dropped hints before?”
“So many,” she confirms.
“Oh my God,” you say again. You stop in your tracks, prompting her to do the same. The expression on her face is endlessly amused. “You planned a huge romantic thing – this?”
She shrugs. “The contest was the club’s shit, but yeah. I planned on asking you to come with me to this. I didn’t actually care about the prize, but the coupons are pretty sweet, right?”
You shake your head, ignoring her rambling. “You planned a huge romantic thing, but I still didn’t get it at the end, so you told me straight up,” you finish, partly in disbelief. “You think you’re so fucking slick, don’t you?” you accuse, which just makes her break out into laughter. “You literally sat next to me and told me exactly how you were going to ask me out and I didn’t know? And not only did you do that, but you were right about it?”
“I know you,” Paige says a little smugly. “And I told you that I could be romantical.”
“You are such a pain in my ass,” you whisper, but her arm is slinking around your waist, pulling you into her body as she grins insufferably, and you let yourself be pulled, your hands resting on her chest. “You are literally so annoying.”
Her nose brushes yours as she inches a little closer. “You know what they asked me in the final round?” she says, her voice loud enough for only you to hear. You nod. “They said, ‘What’s something you haven’t told your partner, but you’d like to?’”
“Funny,” you say. “They asked me the same thing.”
She smiles at you. “I told them I’d tell you that I love you,” she confesses.
Your cheeks burn as you register her words. “Funny,” you say again. “I told them the same thing.”
Her expression shifts, something like relief flashing in her eyes, something tender in her gaze. “Did you?”
“Well, I told them that’s what I would tell my girlfriend,” you trail off intentionally. “Seeing as I don’t currently have one of those…”
“Don’t play,” Paige murmurs, squeezing your hip gently, drawing a laugh from you. “Be mine?”
“You gonna share those coupons?”
Her eyes are bright when she responds. “I’on even care about them. Just want you.”
“You’ve got me.”
That promise is all she needs. She smiles at you, happiness in her features, and she doesn’t waste any time before she’s leaning in fully, her lips finding yours. You’re eagerly responding, melting into her as her arm tightens around your waist. You loop yours around her neck, standing on the tips of the toes for better leverage. Before you know it, her grin grows too wide and the two of you are laughing against each other’s lips, the sound of your love and giddiness the perfect way to end a perfect night. If you had Paige Bueckers and her annoyingly charming antics to look forward to, then one thing is for certain – you couldn’t wait to see what she had in store for Valentine’s Day next year.

theodore nott was the type of man that took what he wanted.
there was a quiet possession in him, a dominance that demanded submission. theo never thought that he would find that willingness in you. the pillars of your personality were built on independence, ambition, and success, but he learned that while you dominated all other aspects of your life, there was one place where you craved the relinquish of control — the bedroom.
your submission was a gift that theo treasured, especially because he knew that a lesser man would not have been able to earn it as he had. there was nothing more satisfying than knowing that he owned every piece of you so utterly and completely.
a sense of pride spread through theo’s chest as he entered the bedroom you shared and found you fast asleep in bed, so pretty and vulnerable as you curled up on his side of the bed, relishing in the scent of him that lingered on the pillows and sheets. theo smiled as he crawled in next to you. his lips dragged down your neck, sucking on the soft flesh and branding your skin with his kisses. theo hummed as he pulled you closer, big hands roaming all over your body, marveling at the feel of your creamy thighs and juicy ass and perfect tits. he pressed his already hard cock into your ass, grinding his erection against the warmth of your core.
the delicious friction it created was enough to have him rutting against you like the pre-pubescent version of himself might’ve done. theo couldn’t help it. you brought out a desperation in him, a delirium that sank its sharp claws into him until he succumbed to the need. theo used to fear his propensity to possess, to obsess, to consume, having been told all his life that it was wrong, it was unhealthy, but they just didn't understand him like you did.
even in your sleep, you melted into his touch as though you had been waiting for this all along. you wanted this. you wanted him.
theo groaned as his hand traveled down your torso, his breathing heavy and laden with desire as he slipped past the waistband of your pajama shorts and palmed you through your lace panties. stirring, you sleepily arched against theo, reaching for him even while you were unconscious. an animalistic growl crawled up his throat when he found you wet and ready for him.
wasting no time, theo yanked your panties to the side and positioned himself behind you, easing his cock into your entrance. a choked groan was all he could manage as he buried himself inside of you, so wet and warm and tight. his hand drifted up to your throat, anchoring himself in place as he thrusted up into you, fucking you with a desperation that consumed his entire being. this was what it meant to possess; to take what was rightfully his. with you, theo never had to deny himself ever again.
you stirred as he rutted into you, burying himself over and over again until his eyes rolled from the overwhelming pleasure. theo hushed you when you mumbled his name, placing a sweet kiss on your lips.
“take it, amore,” theo said in a rough, gravelly voice. “I know you want it. been waiting for me all night, haven’t you? just laying here, on my side of the bed, your face buried in my pillows, hoping that i’d come home and fuck you just like this.”
you moaned as his hips slapped against your ass. “always, theo,” you replied, half out of your mind from the pleasure. “I always want you.”
“so do I, principessa. needed you so much,” theo panted, his grip tightening on your neck. “i’ve been thinking about this all day. I want to claim you. I want to own you. I want to possess you.”
“you already do.”
“there’s more than one way to own someone,” theo grunted. “I want it all. fuck, m’gonna fill this pretty pussy with my cum until i’m dripping out of you for days. you want that, don’t you? just think of how pretty you’ll look pregnant. you’ll be such a great mother to our children. I won’t stop until I put my baby inside of you, cara mia.”
though you had never thought that you would want kids, being with theo had completely changed your mind. you wanted nothing more than to build a family with him, knowing that he would be an excellent father to your children.
“fuck, yes, please,” you breathed, eager to make his words a reality. “cum in me, baby. breed me, theo. I want to make you a dad.”
the thought of you pregnant, round and swollen with his child was enough to make theo lose all sense of self. thick ropes of cum pumped inside of you, filling your pretty cunt with his seed until it overflowed and dripped from your hole. never one for unnecessary waste, theo stuffed his cum back inside of you with a reverent expression.
“keep it all inside. you’ll need every drop to make you nice and pregnant,” murmured theo. “I can’t wait until you’re carrying my child. that way you’ll never leave me. there's no escaping me, amore. it's me and you."
you smiled as theo kissed your stomach, willing a child to grow in your fertile womb. "you’ll be mine, forever.”

can you write something about owners Lando and Oscar with a puppy reader who is very clingy and needy
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/702fa7ee01fd2f5f79d6df4fe0d57d9d/05d28b4de78d7bfc-e3/s540x810/cb90c8a3a6b1539d55ca4dae725b7942a4d89078.jpg)
I've been writing some personal stuff!! I got back into writing high fantasy concepts with @ride-em-cowboy and I'm literally obsessed!!
"Angel," oscar whispered as he placed his finger under your chin and tipped your head up.
Your tail hit his leg as you looked at him, a whimper leaving your lips. You knew that tone, knew what it meant.
They were leaving soon.
You buried your head against his chest again, another whimper leaving his lips. "Hey, hey, hey," he mumbled. "C'mon, Puppy. Don't do that."
Be a good girl for me.
He didn't need to say it, but you knew it was coming. You looks up at him, a pout on your face as you stared into his eyes. He moved his thumb over your cheekbone as he looked at you. "You know what I'm gonna say. "
You nodded your head.
"You-"
But Oscar cut you off before you could spit those words out, say what you always said when they left you. You don't love me. But they did love you. They moved you more than you could ever understand.
"C'mon, Pup. You know we'd take you with us if we could," he mumbled and you nodded your head. "If we didn't love you, you wouldn't be here, would you?"
Oscar was always the logical one, always the one to make sure you had your head screwed on straight before you freaked out, started whining and crying and barking for them.
"Why can't I come with you?" You asked as you wrapped your arms around him, chin on his chest.
He gently petted your head. "You don't like flying, Angel."
Oh, that was right. You hated flying, spent the short journeys from France to other European countries with your head buried against his and landos chests.
"Still," you whispered, blinking back tears.
The front door opened and you scrambled off of his lap.
In a matter of seconds, your arms and legs were wrapped around landos leg, stopping him from moving. "You can't leave me!" You cried as you sniffled, ears buried beneath your hair.
Lando looked around, a little lost. He looked down at you and moved his hand to pet your hair. "Hey, Puppy," he said softly as he looked down at you. "What're you doing?"
You tightened your grip on him. "You can't leave me."
"Who said anything about leaving you, baby?" He mumbled as he pulled you to your feet.
"Oscar."
Oscar had actually said the opposite.
Lando raised his eyebrows, looking like he didn't believe you. A grin split across his face as he pulled you against him and kissed your forehead. "Oh, my darling, my baby," he mumbled.
You looked up at him, blinked and whimpered, and he kissed you.
"You like the dog sitter, remember angel?"
You didn't need a dog sitter, didn't need somebody to look after you. As much as you liked being pampered, you could take care of yourself.
But not according to the law. According to the law, you couldn't be on your own for more than a few hours. According to the law you were incapable of leaving the house on your own.
"We'll call you every night, okay?" He asked as he walked you forward, walked you back to the couch where Oscar sat. "We'll check in on you whenever we can."
Oscar reached for you and pulled you into his lap. He leaned up, kissed lando quickly, and laid his chin on top of your head. "We're gonna miss you as much as you miss us, Sweetheart," he said and kissed the top of your head.
"Gonna miss everything about you." Lando laid his hands on your thighs, not covered up by your shorts.
Oscar squeezed your hips. "Gonna make the most of the time we got before the race."
"You want that, Angel? You want Oscar and I to make you feel good?"
Your only response was a whimper.

This is gentle parenting. The amazing concept that your child is a human being.
(Permissive parenting is something else that doesn't work very well.)
For the most part, my parents tried to do gentle parenting. They didn't know of it as a parenting technique (it was the 80s, I'm not sure it had that name yet) and they weren't even trying for a specific technique.
My dad had this specific line he said once that stuck with me:
"We spend all of this time telling kids that hitting is bad and they shouldn't do it, and then we hit them for punishment? Seems counterproductive."
I did get spanked a few times, but it was mostly, in retrospect, out of fear for what I'd just done. I'd either endangered myself or someone else and scared the shit out of them so I got a tiny swat on the butt. Happened less than five times my entire childhood. They always apologized afterward, explaining that they'd been scared and that wasn't the right way to be scared.
Once it was because I seriously hurt someone and my dad, crying, told me that I needed to understand the pain I'd just put that person through. He was really upset, both that I'd hurt someone and that he needed to make me understand the hurt I'd inflicted. He cried the whole time. It was one of like four times I ever saw my father cry, my entire life. I was more upset at how sad he was than over the spanking.
Thing is, when you treat your child like a human being, they love you and you love them. They know that. Making you sad or upset or disappointed genuinely upsets them and makes them want to do better. Think about how you react when your favorite teacher is disappointed in you. How do you feel?
Now imagine if your favorite teacher and your parent both had the same place in your heart. You'd want to do them proud, wouldn't you?
I am exceptionally lucky in that my parents never hit me, grounded me, confiscated my things, banned me from my hobbies or threatened any of these actions to make me behave as a kid. as an adult it has made me realise how very very long a road most people have to traverse before they can take a statement like 'no rule that must be enforced by threat is legitimate' seriously.

Hiii could I request a pt 2 to miniskirt?? Honestly anything with teen!dean tbh maybe it ends up being that r knows exactly why dean gave her the jacket, or some sort of awkard/sweet confession and fluffiness? Or an angsty route where dean lashes out and r can't understand why which leads to a fluffy confession? Literally anything, your writing is so so good each and every time 🙂↕️
✮⋆˙ miniskirt²,
summary. you’re rocking a miniskirt and dean goes crazy!
pairing. teen!dean winchester x best friend!reader
wordcount. 518
⋆. 𐙚 ˚ read part 1
Dean doesn’t know what the hell is wrong with him.
All day, he’s been a mess—on edge, jittery, snapping at people for no reason. It’s stupid. It’s irrational. And it’s all because of you.
Because you showed up this morning in that damn skirt.
And now you’re sitting next to him in the Impala, legs tucked up on the seat, wearing his jacket like it belongs to you. Like he belongs to you.
And maybe that’s what’s messing him up so bad.
He grips the steering wheel tighter, eyes fixed on the road. His knuckles are white. The engine hums beneath them, the radio low, but the silence between you is loud.
You tap your fingers against the window absentmindedly. “Are you gonna keep brooding all night, or are you gonna tell me what’s up?”
Dean exhales sharply through his nose. “Nothing’s up.”
“Uh-huh.” You shift, turning to face him fully. “Because you’ve been acting weird since lunch, and considering we spend, like, ninety percent of our lives together, I think I’d know when something’s up.”
Dean clenches his jaw. He doesn’t want to do this. Not now, not ever. But you’re looking at him, waiting, and there’s something knowing in your eyes.
Like you already have him figured out.
You lean in slightly, voice softer. “Is this about the jacket?”
He stiffens.
“Oh my God.” Your lips part in realization. “It is about the jacket.”
“No, it’s not.”
“It totally is!” You sit up straighter, grinning now. “Dean, did you—”
“Don’t.”
“Did you give me your jacket because you were jealous?”
Dean groans, dragging a hand down his face. “Jesus Christ.”
You burst out laughing, delighted. “Dean, that’s adorable.”
“Shut up,” he grumbles, glaring at the road like it personally offended him.
“I mean, I thought it was kinda obvious, but I wasn’t sure—”
“What was obvious?”
“That you like me.”
Dean nearly swerves into oncoming traffic.
He yanks the wheel back, heart slamming against his ribs. “What?”
You’re still grinning, completely unfazed. “You like me.”
He swallows. His ears are hot. His pulse is a damn drumline.
He could deny it. Brush it off, make some joke, keep things the way they’ve always been.
But when he looks over at you—wearing his jacket, all warm and soft and entirely too pretty in the glow of the streetlights—he realizes he’s so, so tired of pretending.
“…Yeah,” he mutters, grip tightening on the wheel. “I do.”
Your smile softens. “Good.”
Dean frowns. “Good?”
You shrug, leaning closer, your warmth seeping into his side. “Because I like you, too, dumbass.”
Dean’s stomach does a weird little flip. His chest feels too tight.
He doesn’t know what to say, what to do.
And then you’re leaning in, hand curling around his bicep, looking at him like he hung the damn moon.
“Pull over.”
Dean swallows thickly. “Why?”
Your fingers slide down his arm, tracing his wrist, teasing at his palm.
“Because I wanna kiss you,” you say simply. “And I don’t think you should be driving when I do.”
Dean’s foot is on the brake before you finish the sentence.

Could I pretty please hear what you would think about a platonic Doey X autistic player?
Shoutout to my fellow autistic poppy playtime fans, we cannot be stopped >:)
If you like my work, please consider commissioning me :)
Doey & autistic Player
★ Doey is no stranger to people who are on the spectrum, plenty of his old friends from Home Sweet Home had special needs. You shouldn't feel any kind of shame over who you are! If you did, Doey would be quick to knock some sense into you.
★ In that situation, Doey's playful side would come out. "Alright, listen up! You're incredible, and I won't let you feel bad about yourself. Being a bit different than others is not a flaw—it's a part of you. And personally, I think your pretty great!"
★ Feeling overstimulated? If possible, he will adjust the environment as needed. Turning down lights if they are too bright, giving you a blanket with a nice texture and asking the other toys to play quietly.
★ He always asks for permission before getting close to you. Knowing that sometimes it can be a big no. "Hey buddy, is it okay if I stand here? I don't want to make you uncomfortable." Followed by him hastily adding "If you ever feel uncomfortable, just let me know, okay?"
★ Doey gets really upset if someone messes with you. His eyes narrow, the usually jovial demeanor shifting into something more serious. He takes a deep breath, trying to keep his cool before speaking. "Hey, that's not okay. You need to stop. Right now."
★ Internally, Doey is seething with anger. He hates to see anyone treated badly. But chances are the person who was being rude was just a toy who didn't really understand what they were doing. If that's the case, he takes the time to explain why what they did was so wrong.

summary : waking up on a honeymoon morning with malleus
characters : malleus draconia
warnings : kissing, non-sexual intimacy, small angst?, aged up characters, prefect reader
a/n : this ask was so cute !! i listened to a night to remember by beabadoobee and laufey while writng and i think that set the mood, maybe?
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/104c71b4e50051462637eb921fdddbc6/1e59e1fb10dfe245-b4/s540x810/1bec1933e527cd91d308e3c0170564368833b849.jpg)
A deep puff of air wafts behind you, tickling your skin, arms shift slightly around your waist and you seem to get even closer to the fae behind you.
The room you were in was painted golden, soft calls of seagulls and waves crashing over each other could be heard if you listened carefully.
Blinking softly as your vision became less blurry while you were waking up. Malleus was wrapped behind you, in a deep sleep you presume, if his snoring was anything to account for. You turn around in his arms, now getting a better look at his face.
Soft parted lips, eccentric markings now visible as you mess around with his hair. Enjoying the free reign of admiration of waking up earlier than him for once.
“...hm.. It’s unfair how handsome you are..”
Your hands slide down, cradling his face -though something caught your eye- a content smile and two striking green eyes staring back at you.
A kiss to the inside of your wrist as he pulls you even closer, trying to merge your bodies into one.
“Did I wake you?” you mumble into his shoulder, now playing with the silky strands of his hair.
“I awoke when I felt you move” A kiss to your neck now. He's being rather affectionate this morning.
Though you understand, it is your honeymoon after all. Thinking back, you never would have thought of marrying the weirdo outside ramshackle, too busy trying to get back to your old world.
Now you never want to leave, especially not without him by your side.
Your head leaves his shoulder, resting against the fluffed up pillows. If you could stare at Malleus all day you wouldn't oppose such an idea, he looked as if he was personally sculpted by a goddess.
“I appreciate the compliments my dear, but isn't it too early?” He smirks back at you, seemingly lighting up at your image of him. Perhaps he enjoyed too much with how he was leaning in.
There was a kiss on your forehead, your cheek, underneath your ear, jawline. The tip of your nose, your brow, the corner of your mouth.
Then he stops, grinning proudly of the pinkish hue complimenting your features, even after all these years you're so easy to tease.
“I think you missed a spot” you pat a finger onto your lips, appreciating his shocked look at your boldness, not before his devilishly heart stopping smirk appears again.
“It seems I have.. I might have to go over it again, so I won't miss it this time.” You snicker at his words, meeting him halfway for the kiss.
If there's one thing you love about your relationship with malleus it would definitely be the kisses. There's always something so intimate when kissing him, as if he stopped you would completely disappear, like you were planning to all that time ago. That's why he goes deeper, embracing you closely. Afraid that any time, you'll leave him.
You part to try and catch your breath and he only parts so you can do so.
“..are …we planning.. anything... today?”, you manage to get out, taking small gasps of air between each word.
“..No, let's just stay in bed.” When he says it like that, head already so close to yours and eyeing your lips so desperately, you would be cruel to refuse. So you lean in for another kiss, and another, and another. All throughout the morning.

NFL Honors
Pairing: Joe Burrow x Rockstar!Reader
Summary: The NFL Honors ceremony had always been a spectacle, but tonight. Tonight, all eyes were on them. For months, there had been whispers. Sideline glances. Shared exits. Paparazzi catching them “coincidentally” at the same places. But neither of them had confirmed anything. Not after the season started. Not after the break-in. Not after Joe’s frustrating year on the field. But tonight, there was no denying it.
She stepped onto the red carpet, wearing a sleek, black floor-length dress that hugged her figure perfectly—classic, effortless, but stunning.
And beside her?
Joe Burrow.
Dressed in a perfectly tailored suit, hand resting comfortably on her waist, walking like he wasn’t single-handedly sending the internet into flames.
Reporters were scrambling to adjust their questions. Cameras flashed wildly. Fans lost their minds.
Joe leaned in, murmuring just for her.
"You ready for this?"
She smirked, squeezing his hand. "Are you?"
Joe chuckled, shaking his head. "Not even a little."
By the time they reached the interview section, reporters were barely containing their excitement.
Interviewer: "Joe, [Y/N]—is this your way of confirming the rumors?"
Joe, completely unfazed: "I think the rumors confirmed themselves."
She laughed, tilting her head. "But if you need it spelled out—yeah, we’re here together."
The internet? Exploded.
Hailee Steinfeld, already at the event, sprinted across the carpet the second she saw them.
"OH MY GOD, FINALLY."
Joe sighed, shaking his head. "Here we go."
Hailee grabbed her by the wrist, beaming. "You don’t understand—I have been holding this secret in for MONTHS."
She rolled her eyes. "You literally told me to wait for the perfect moment."
Hailee grinned. "Yeah, but I didn’t think it would take this long."
Joe smirked. "She wanted to keep the mystery alive."
Hailee turned to the cameras, gesturing to them dramatically. "Well, mystery’s dead. They’re a thing. This is real. You're welcome."
Joe laughed, pulling her closer. "Guess there’s no going back now."
She grinned, looking up at him. "Nope."
NFL Memes (@NFL_Memes): “JOE BURROW JUST CASUALLY SHOWED UP WITH HIS GIRL LIKE IT WASN’T THE BIGGEST DEAL EVER.”
PopCultureBuzz: “HAILEE STEINFELD BREAKING HER SILENCE LIKE SHE WAS A HOSTAGE TO THIS SECRET.”
ESPN: “Joe Burrow’s biggest win of the season? Making it official.”
The moment Joe’s name was called for Comeback Player of the Year, the entire room erupted in applause.
She turned to him, smiling proudly, squeezing his hand before he stood up.
“Go get your award, Burrow.”
Joe smirked. “You gonna be here when I get back?”
She rolled her eyes. “Obviously.”
Joe leaned down just slightly, brushing his lips against her cheek before heading to the stage.
The cameras caught everything.
Joe stood at the mic, taking a second to compose himself before speaking.
“Man… this is an honor.”
He went on to thank his coaches, teammates, trainers, the fans, the people who helped him grind through the tough season.
And then?
His eyes flickered toward where she was sitting.
“And, uh… one more person I gotta thank.”
She froze.
The audience leaned in.
Joe smirked just slightly. “She knows who she is.”
The room erupted in murmurs and laughter.
She shook her head, covering her face as Hailee smacked her arm, grinning.
Joe just chuckled, clearing his throat. “Anyway… let’s get ready for next season.”
NFL Memes (@NFL_Memes): “JOE BURROW GAVE HER A SHOUTOUT IN HIS SPEECH AND JUST LEFT US TO GUESS???”
PopCultureBuzz: “‘She knows who she is’—JOE BE SO SERIOUS RIGHT NOW.”
ESPN: “Joe Burrow keeps winning. On and off the field.”
She barely had time to process what just happened before she felt strong arms wrap around her waist.
Joe.
“You good?” he murmured against her hair.
She turned in his arms, poking his chest. “Seriously? She knows who she is?”
Joe smirked. “You did, didn’t you?”
She huffed, biting back a smile. “I hate you.”
Joe just leaned in, whispering against her lips. “No, you don’t.”
And with that, he kissed her.

an open letter to those who have not yet shifted.
i don't know how many of you will see this, let alone how many will read it entirely. this letter is for those who have been trying to shift for two years, five years, more. those who cannot give up, and those who will not give up, and maybe even those who already have. to preface, this letter will not rehash everything you already know. you've scrolled every forum, you've seen every method, you've read every tip. you've trialed, and errored, and persevered... but you're still here. law of assumption, manifestation, belief, intention. but you're still here. you've been told all about shifting... right? you already know what shifting is... right? you should already know how to shift... right? but you're still here.
this letter is not intended to debase or invalidate those who do already believe in those things and who are satisfied with that. this is for those who have been trying that way for 2 years, 5 years, and more, and still haven't shifted. this is for those who might want an alternative perspective.
what you've been told
in my personal opinion, the online shifting community as it currently stands is very... rigid. narrow. there are a few dominant views, and then the many who drown out any possible dissent or disagreement. i do understand why this happens. reality shifting is already a marginal belief, hounded by anti-shifters and disbelieved and debunked on all sides, so it makes sense that people feel the instinct to close ranks at any sign of an outsider. unfortunately, this has led to a community that raises its hackles at even other reality shifters who simply don't believe the exact same way that you do. law of assumption. manifestation. intent. (and dare i say it, the multiverse.)
i don't believe in any of that, in the context of shifting.
now, wait! don't go yet, stay with me. it's okay if you do. i'm not intending to change the minds of those who already believe in these things. i'm not going to go at anyone and say "i'm right, you're wrong, and you must change your mind to agree with me!" that would be silly, and counterproductive. let's lower our guards, and extend an olive branch, please. if you feel these things serve your journey, then carry on. you're allowed to disagree with me, i won't be upset. you're allowed to think i'm wrong, if you want. literally no worries at all.
but i am a little tired frankly of certain ideas being treated as the only options, and often in a rude or hostile manner. if you are someone who has spent five years trying to shift, and you see yet another post that boils down to "all you have to do is want it hard enough" does that not hurt your soul? the following sections of this post are for those who these ideas have not been working for. for those who have not yet shifted. it's been two years. five years. more. and you're still here. are you open to another possibility?
what is reality shifting?
i've told you what i don't believe, but what about what i do? i'll try to keep this as concise as possible for the sake of brevity and comprehension, knowing i could potentially clarify in future posts. but please continue with the understanding that im a chronic overexplainer, and my curse is the fact that the extra words don't always actually increase understanding. bear with me.
reality shifting: broadly speaking, this refers to shifting your linear experience of reality from one, to another. this has been known by many other names in the past, across continents and cultures, even in pre-agriculture societies. i'd include ideas like persistent realms, quantum jumping, focus 21, etc. language is subjective, and people may describe or understand the same experience in different ways.
i believe reality shifting is a haphazard side effect of our limited ability to perceive and comprehend reality. let me explain. space, as we understand it, is three dimensional. but reality isn't. it's our bodies and minds limiting our perception and understanding that makes all of reality seem that way to us at surface level.
1D: let's consider a hypothetical one dimensional existence. everything would a straight line, and the only way to perceive anything else would be as a single point directly in front or directly behind you. forwards and backward. the 2D and 3D are beyond your limited ability to physically sense or feel, let alone to comprehend. Forget about the 4D (time). due to your lack of comprehension, you cannot move at will in two dimensional planes, let alone three dimensional space or even time. you are static, a single point.
2D: let's consider a hypothetical two dimensional existence. it would be a flat, infinite planar expanse. you might be a square, or a circle. you can move freely in two dimensional directions (forward, backwards, side to side), but not in the 3D. No up, no down. If you tried to perceive a three dimensional object, you would only be able to comprehend it as linear, a line on the horizon where it intersects your 2 dimensional plane. you would perceive the 3D as moving around or within you on its own, without the ability to direct it. the 4D, or time, if you could perceive it, would be static, a singular point at a time.
3D: what about our three dimensional existence? congratulations, you now are a form, such as a sphere, or a cube. you can move freely in a voluminous, infinite three dimensional space. Forward, backwards, side to side, up, and down. if you *try* to perceive the fourth dimension (time), you can only comprehend it as linear, a line where it intersects your 3 dimensional space. You perceive it as moving around or within you on its own, without the ability to direct it yourself. any dimensions higher than that, if you could perceive it, would be static, a singular point at a time.
quick 4D sidebar: clearing this one up now because this will confuse some of you who are involved in other communities. in many law of assumption and manifestation communities, "4D" has been used to refer to your imagination, inner world, a bridge to "higher vibrational states", etc. i don't use it that way. i use it in the sense of the mathematical concept, or linking three-dimensional space with time. 4D=time.
4D and 5D: so, time is the fourth dimension. that means it is four dimensional, yet due to our limitations as 3D creatures, we can only perceive it as linear. we perceive it as moving around us, without our direction, forwards, (or backwards in some cultures). what about the 5th dimension? the static one? the one we can only perceive one point of at a time? let's call this 5th dimension... reality. due to our limited perception, it may not seem like it, but time and reality are just like space in that all of it exists at once. if you were a 5th dimensional creature, you wouldn't see a bunch of different realities, you'd just see one the way we just see one 3D universe around us right now.
tip: think of it this way, if a three dimensional creature moving through time is only able to perceive it linearly, it may think that each point of time exists separately, passing by in chronological order. this would be like a character in a book, the character experiences each page one at a time as we turn the page. but we know that actually, the entire book exists all at the same time, and already did exist before we picked it up and started reading it, and continues to exist even when we set it down. the same is true of time, and reality. even if we perceive it as linear, or a point, all of it actually exists simultaneously, like space.
still, we can only perceive one point of reality at a time. i believe when we reality shift, we are by some freak of nature (or nurture) finding a way to trigger a "movement" in this "5th dimension," and therefor shifting our linear experience of time and our singular perceptual experience of one reality to another. ("movement" is a bit of an abstraction here, as movement generally refers to 3D space. you're not actually moving anywhere, you're already there, you just... can't see it at the same time as this.)
ok, so how the heavens do i shift?
if you read through all of the above, i assume that's what you're asking by now. "get to the point shimmer! how do i shift?" if you don't need intention, belief, assumption, manifestation, three gallons of water, crystals, or anything else then what do you need to shift?
if we boil shifting down to its absolute core, all you need to do in order to shift is to shift. (put down the pitch forks, and the flaming feathers and tar. i'll elaborate.)
shifting involves finding a way for us 3 dimensional creatures to trigger a shift in a dimensional direction that we do not have the capacity to perceive. so what i mean by "all you have to do to shift, is to shift" is that there is no physical movement, or secret password we can whisper that makes us shift, not inherently. it's sort of like being told to find your invisible and non corporeal primordial tail, and then swish it in a direction that doesn't spatially exist. find your "move in the 5D button", and then press it. except, there is no button.
so how do we "move" from one point of reality to the other? well, the first clue to this is in noticing what part of us is actually doing the "moving".
you don't make it happen with your three dimensional form. there is no body part or mass or motor function in your 3D body that triggers a shift. there's nothing that allows a three dimensional form to move in five dimensional directions... you just can't. your body stays here. that's good news actually, in my opinion. there is no need to force yourself into strange bodily positions, or chug water, or whatever else. your 3D body is irrelevant, because it's not going anywhere. you don't have to do anything with your body to shift. some people can shift awake, asleep, in the shower, walking around, etc.
you also don't necessarily do it with the fourth dimension, time. there is no specific amount of time that you'll shift after. it might seem you've spent a lot of time trying to shift, but the actual shift itself is instantaneous. some people shift their first try, and some of you might be on your second decade of attempts. again, the time factor being irrelevant is good news because this means it doesn't have to take time.
i also don't think we do it with just intent or belief. the intention word gets used so much it basically means nothing, but the general idea is that intent is the driving force that manifests your desired outcome. in the context of shifting, people use it like "set your intention to shift, and you will" or "intent makes you shift." or the dreaded "you just have to believe harder." personally, i don't think that's true. i don't think intention makes you shift. if it did, you all would have shifted by now, right? i think looking anyone who's been trying to shift for 4 years dead in the eye and telling them they just haven't intended to shift yet is honestly a bit cruel and unusual. some people who intend to shift will shift, but in my opinion, its a case of correlation, and not causation. there are also people who shift without intending to, or who intend to shift but don't.
it's also not really our thoughts that shift. or our mind as a concept, or our entire self. we know this because you don't turn into a comatose vegetable when you shift to a different reality. your thoughts, mind, and self here are unaffected by your awareness shifting away from it. if you successfully "permashifted" to hogwarts tonight, your self here would still wake up in the morning and go to work.
so what does shift? only our linear experience of our own awareness. so in order to reality shift, we just need to find a way to trigger our awareness to shift from one point of reality to another in a non linear fashion, and then integrate that into our linear experience. aha! you think. great! now how do i do that...? unfortunately, this is not an exact science (yet.) once you begin shifting regularly, i think it gets "easier" in some regards because you get a sense for how your awareness "feels" and what works for you. for those who haven't shifted, i can't say "take three deep breaths and recite the secret words, and then you'll shift." there is nothing specific you can physically do that will for certain make you shift. there's no secret passwords.
there is no key to shifting. the good news is, this means there is also no lock.
what we can do is get ourselves primed, into a state that increases the chances our awareness is triggered to shift. ie, find the "move in the 5D" button, (you know, the one that doesn't exist) and learn how to press it. and because it is our awareness that shifts, my "methods" have to do with priming your awareness for shifting. you don't need to believe, which is a good thing because it means doubts won't hold you back. you don't necessarily need to intend, which is a good thing because it means there are no secret blockages in your way. no "subconscious", no "reprogramming", no "delusion is the solution." you don't need any of that. you also don't have to do anything specific with your body or space unless you feel like it and want to. you don't need a script, but you can make one if you want. it's whatever, it's irrelevant darling, it's non-consequential.
these three methods below basically encompass all shifting methods out there. i might expand on techniques for these methods later, but for now i'll go over the basics.
method one: pure awareness
it basically boils down to two steps. get into a state of pure awareness, and then shift.
the first step for this method is actually a simple one, sort of, but i think it's unkind to call it easy. it can be easy, if you just happen to have a perfect technique that works for you on your first try. if so, congrats! if not, don't despair. it comes more naturally to some than others, at first. you can probably build the skills and try different techniques necessary for you to get there.
but what is pure awareness? it's currently very often being called "the void state", but i'm not using that term for a few reasons. one, i think using the term "the void state" or calling it "the void" is making people think it's some sort of place that they're trying to go. it's not. it's not a physical place at all, and that's kind of the point. most of the time, your awareness is perceiving reality through the confines concept of 3D reality, because that's the data input it's receiving from your brain and body. that grounds you in this reality, and allows you to go about your day to day life. your goal with the pure awareness method is to focus on just your awareness, absent of all 3D distraction data and input. that way, your awareness is primed to be triggered to shift its focus to the 3D perception of a different point of reality when you come out of that state.
i might make a post about techniques for getting into the state of pure awareness, but this post is already long enough.
method two: destabilization of awareness
this method gets over complicated, but it basically boils down to two steps. destabilize your awareness, and then shift.
honestly, most shifting methods i see online are in some way doing this. lucid dreams, the hypnogogic state, SATS, self-hypnosis, "symptoms", and also all those iterations of the "raven method" the "staircase method" the "alice in wonderland method" etc are all basically ways to destabilize your awareness from the linear perception it is so used to in this point of reality, offering the opportunity of triggering a shift to a different one. they're all sort of either distracting or subverting your focus on the 3D here in this point of reality.
basically, you'll be trying to discombobulate yourself to the point your awareness is not focused on 3D reality, and trigger a shift.
method three: absence of awareness
sleep method gang, rise up. i'm serious. this method involves reducing your awareness to zero, or as close to it as possible, another potentially prime state to trigger a shift. (and by sleep method, i don't mean lucid dreamers or SATS, i mean simply going to sleep here, having a period of complete unawareness, like totally dreamless sleep, and then waking up in your DR.)
this absence of awareness during sleep is (in my experience) the most common cause of accidental or unintentional shifts, but you might be one of those who can trigger a shift to desired realities with this too.
sleeping is not the only way to get to the state of the lack of awareness. i'd say total distraction methods also count for this. you're not asleep, your body is awake, but you're so "zoned out" (or alternatively in a meditative state such that) you're absolutely not aware of the 3D experience of this point of reality anymore.
this is completely different from the state of pure awareness by the way, because in the state of pure awareness you are aware. like, in pure awareness you have a full train of thought and total control. the absence of awareness is the opposite. it feels sort of like a "blip" where reality time and space passed you by and you were not aware of it.

IFTA musical chairs game
Look no further, The Numero Uno Fan was not there. And may I ask you, ladies, one more time - why?
It was in Ireland - a place where she used to parade him on the regular, contrived paparazzi pics on top. The IFTA awards were, by now, a very familiar (and dreaded, by us) Narrative Playground, so an easy assignment of sorts. IFTA 2023, those looks that made Mordor weep with joy. IFTA 2024 and those elusive pics that appeared a bit later, to BIF's delight (their in-house vigilantes were at the ready, of course).
IFTA 2025? Radio Ga-Ga, Radio Goo Goo. Radio Silence. She wants, perhaps, to break free?
She was presenting - not a small feat: where is the devoted, supportive and understanding husband?
It was on Valentine's Day, for crying out loud. Riddle me this, as honestly as you can, please. I can't see why. I am stupid, for sure.
But my faithful eagle-eyed friend had a closer look and we can now substantiate. We agreed to post only after I vetted it myself, same old, same tedious process (download -> slow down the reels -> catch the second on a screenshot as clearly as possible). So here is what we have and it is loud and clear, my friends.
First on our list was Saoirse Ronan's Best Supporting Actress award acceptance speech. You can watch it on Youtube:
youtube
Saoirse was seated on C's right side, at the same table and on her own left was a lady wearing glasses, lest some would be foolish enough to think it was McGill. We can see that lady here (blue arrow) and on the right (red arrow) C's extravagant silver sleeve:
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/3ffd1ff237715a8f4fe024028e2ca943/020f666249510910-10/s540x810/34b5562c16f4b4dec3272fb5cae77a8120180968.jpg)
The lucky nominee raises and hey, hello:

At the end of her speech, we see the chair empty:
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/9bac939c0895fce0677bfceb1f2169aa/020f666249510910-ed/s540x810/56af5fc76ff06b3abe36509084b41800109dc977.jpg)
It did not stay like this all night. By the time Cillian Murphy went onstage to pick up his own Lead Actor award, somebody else took the empty spot. An elderly gentleman I am way too plastered with fatigue to identify. Play along if you wish, science will be probably grateful.
Here is Murphy's acceptance speech:
[Source: https://x.com/gofckapineapple/status/1890917862631424306?s=46&t=PwRUwYJkImTt7ctbAQQkKw]
And here is a very clear overview of C's table:
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/743c59a475eb45d10da54e86f99831a2/020f666249510910-76/s540x810/fb48c971cb97145c9ba8eb2f724edd5dee18724d.jpg)
Closer:
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/4f8fad161201b802504ebea741d42ad8/020f666249510910-82/s540x810/82fd2db8f0be340f65dc191ad2b9ea6357e4c149.jpg)
Notice the salt-and-pepper haired gentleman who took Saoirse's former position. The lady wearing green on C's left has been there all the time.
I will, as always, invite you to draw your own conclusions. But seriously now, how LOUD was that, this time?
At least as loud as the sound of silence on her Stans' pages. Exactly.
You can cut it with a knife, for sure.
PS: thank you, dear. You know who you are.
[Later edit]: that another man would feel the need to step in and cover her right side at that table is the sure sign McGill was not there, not in Dublin, not in Ireland and I seriously wonder where else. This is exactly what any civilized person would do and again, you are free to draw your own conclusions. Tick, tock...

Yes!! I love every single detail that allows the reader to understand that despite our love for Scar, HG is NOT A GOOD GUY. HE IS A COP. I wanted to add - I'm not nearly as familiar with the writing process as Lew's, BUT! Something that smacked me in the face immediately when I was reading the chapter is how similar Scar's opening line - "I'm here to help you, I'm the best option you got" - is to how REAL cops actually try to get civilians to give up information they SHOULDN'T be giving up. If you've ever been detained or arrested or even just interacted with a cop irl before you know the language they use. "We're just trying to help" "Things will go much easier if you just talk to us and answer our questions" but what they actually mean is that things will go much easier for THEM. NOT for you (sidebar if you ever get arrested or must interact with a cop, NEVER tell them ANYTHING except to demand a lawyer). That's excatly what HG means in this scene with Grian. He's trying to "help", but he's not helping Grian.
It's just such a great way to tie back to the theme of the comic in a very real way. CG always calls HG "cop" in the earlier shorts, and that's all well and good to understand "HG works for the government, while Grian does not" but on a much deeper level that means that Scar enjoys privileges and power that Grian does not. He gets better equipment, he gets celebrity status for the same traits others get discriminated for, he gets to be above the law (meanwhile, for doing exactly the same thing basically, Grian is breaking the law), etc. Grian doesn't have any of those things. Their dynamic is inherently imbalanced. And I think the key to this dynamic unraveling and leveling the playing field between them is for Scar to realize that he is also a victim of the system. If HG WASN'T employed directly by the government, he wouldn't enjoy all this power and status, he wouldn't get praised and applauded. He wouldn't get new legs. He'd be treated exactly like Grian and Jimmy and Tango are. We also see in a previous chapter Cub chastising Scar for abusing his equipment at risk to his own personal health. He also experiences the consequences of living in a world where minority groups are not treated fairly, especially by the government (the one that expects him to fit a certain "image" aka able-bodied in order to be a superhero). He just doesn't realize that those things are correlated. And I can't wait for that realization to hit him in the face like a bullet. GADAM I LOVE THIS COMIC.
hello hello ddvau fans if you do not know me i do edits for ddvau and i have Known about this chapter for weeks and have been sitting on my rage at HG the whole time. and now it is released i need the people to see he is a bitch ass mf
anyway. starting off here. the very first thing HG says to Grian when talking about what happened is a threat
"i'm here to help you. i'm the best option you got, no one else will"
when i was editing for Doody, this line was just "i'm here to help." but Doody wanted it to come across somewhere in this chapter that HG has all the power in this situation and that HG wants Grian to know that. it was decided that the best spot to include that was right here, right off the bat. HG is Grian's only option and that is as much a promise as it is a threat. no one else will help Grian, and that includes saving him from HG if he doesn't tell HG what he wants to know
and then there's this page. when Grian isnt super forthcoming w info, HG pulls out Jimmy. HG knows better than anyone that Jimmy is completely innocent and that he had nothing to do w the attack--he's a victim here, and HG knows that better than anyone. he also knows, from being Grian and Jimmy's friend as a civilian for years, that Grian cares a lot about Jimmy, and is using that against Grian
he also knows from being a civilian and Jimmy's friend that Jimmy's pro-mutant stance isnt popular, and Jimmy could be framed if HG said something bad about him. HG is trying blatantly to use anti-mutant sentiments against Grian and Jimmy so that Grian will talk, in a moment Grian is already convinced he's going to be arrested for hiding his status as a mutant
(which: note that HG says he heard "rumors" about Jimmy's stance about mutants and his protests against the university's policies--it isn't rumors, HG knows this from being Jimmy's friend and coworker as Scar)
and then here, HG is the only one who was conscious and who was fully present for and remembers what happened during the MS attack. yeah, Tango was also there, but Tango is a known mutant, adn we've already seen people do not trust Tango and think Tango is dangerous--he's certainly not as trustworthy as HG, Superhero, Emerald Soldier, face of the military. he's the one people will trust most. what he says happened is what happened
HG says that yes, Grian’s secret is safe, but only because HG is choosing to keep it. Grian is safe because HG is allowing him to be. HG told everyone that Grian gained wings from the attack, and so HG won't arrest Grian. in this narrative which HG made up, Grian did not lie to the government and he was not always a mutant. HG said it, so it's true, even if he's lying. all HG has to do is change his mind and say that Grian was always a mutant who lied and hid his status from the government, and then Grian will be arrested. HG could change his mind at any time if Grian doesn't cooperate with him. he's very blatantly blackmailing Grian
fun fact! the original version of this line didn't have the "for now," but it was added in editing when Doody said they wanted it to be explicitly clear HG is threatening Grian
what HG says here is the truth. he isn't just representing the law--HG is above the law, and he isn't shy about making sure Grian knows that. he's willing to use anything in his disposal to get the information he wants, and he's willing to use anything available to him to make sure Grian complies with him. disguising it in friendly attitude and cookies and a phone number does not hide the fact HG was incredibly ruthlessly manipulative here
anyway. incredibly fun chapter. one of my favorites. i need DDVAU HG exploded
#lew i hope it's alright that I added all this nonsense to your very good post lmao#ddvau#double hearted

my lovely lovely san happy valentine's day !! thank you for the request ily so much <3
— do you wanna know a secret ?
remus lupin x reader ♥︎ 845 words
The air in the common room was thick with the excitement of Valentine’s Day. Some students were exchanging notes, others were planning for the dance that night, and a few were simply enjoying the sugary sweets scattered across the tables. You, however, found yourself hiding in a corner with your textbook, trying to focus on your charms homework. It wasn’t that you disliked the holiday—it just felt like a reminder of what you didn’t have: someone to share it with.
Of course, there was someone you'd like to spend it with. Remus, your best friend who always seemed to know exactly what you needed, whether it was a laugh, a kind word, or just a quiet moment together.
As if summoned by your thoughts, Remus appeared in the doorway of the common room, his messy hair falling over his eyes, his hands stuffed in the pockets of his cardigan. He caught sight of you almost immediately, and that familiar, warm smile spread across his face. It was the kind of smile that made your heart beat a little faster, but you pushed the feeling away. He was your best friend, and that’s all he could ever be, right?
“Hey,” he said, his voice soft. “What are you doing all the way over here?”
You looked up from your book and tried to smile. “Just, uh, trying to get some work done. You know, not everyone is celebrating Valentine’s Day with a dance or chocolates. I’m just not in the mood for all the… fuss.”
Remus nodded, his expression turning thoughtful. “I get it. The whole day just feels like a lot of pressure, doesn’t it?” He sat down next to you, shifting a few of your books to the side. “But, you know… if you want, we could just skip all that and hang out. Maybe take a walk around the lake, or—”
You blinked in surprise, cutting him off. “Wait, Sirius isnt forcing you into another double date?"
Remus chuckled softly, shaking his head. “I wasn't really interested in her, it wouldn't have been fun for either of us."
Your heart skipped a beat, and you suddenly felt self-conscious. “Oh,” you said, awkwardly fiddling with a pencil. “Well, you don't have to just sit here with me. I mean, you could always ask someone else…”
“C'mon,” He scoffed, leaning back in his chair. “like I need an excuse to spend time with you. Besides, I don’t need anyone else.” His voice softened at the last part, and his eyes lingered on yours just a moment longer than usual.
For a brief moment, the world felt very still. There was something in the way he said it, something in the way he was looking at you, that made your chest tighten. You’d always known Remus as your closest friend, the person who could make you laugh without even trying, the person who always seemed to understand you in ways no one else could. But hearing those words took you by surprise.
You cleared your throat, trying to keep your voice steady. “Yeah,” you said softly. “A walk sounds nice.”
The two of you left the common room, walking through the nearly empty corridors. The castle seemed quieter than usual, many couples having gone to Hogsmeade to celebrate the holiday. As you reached the entrance hall, Remus turned toward you, his face more serious now, as though he were gathering the courage to say something.
“I’ve been thinking,” he started, his voice hesitant. “Maybe I haven't been as obvious as I thought, but.. I care about you, more than I probably let on. And I guess I’ve been wondering if you.. feel the same?”
Your heart raced at his words, the question hanging in the air between you. It was all so sudden, but somehow, it felt like the most natural thing in the world.
You looked up at him, feeling the warmth of the moment in your chest. “Remus,” you said softly, “I’ve always cared about you. You’re my best friend.”
There was a pause, and then, almost as if he couldn’t help himself, Remus reached out, gently taking your hand in his. His touch was warm, and you could feel the weight of everything unsaid between you.
“I think I want to be more than that,” he murmured, his thumb lightly brushing over your knuckles.
You felt your breath catch. For a long moment, you just stood there, looking at him, trying to reconcile the feelings that had been simmering beneath the surface for so long. And then, with a soft laugh, you squeezed his hand.
“I think I want that too,” you said quietly.
Remus smiled, a mixture of relief and happiness in his expression. And just as the first snowflake of the evening drifted down from the sky, he leaned in, brushing his lips against your forehead in a tender, quiet kiss—an unspoken promise.
“Happy Valentine’s Day,” he whispered, his breath warm against your skin.
You smiled back, feeling more content than you had in a long time. “Happy Valentine’s Day, Remus.”

My dear lgbt+ kids,
This letter is written in memory of Aria, a trans woman who sadly passed away, and in solidarity with her friends and her siblings who are missing her dearly.
I did not have the honor to meet Aria in person. I do not know her favorite color or what kind of music she liked most - but even if I did, a list with facts can’t summarize a life. No blog post could properly reflect who she was or the depth of the gap her death leaves in the lives of her loved ones and in our community.
I do not want to tell you „here’s what she would’ve wanted me to tell you“ because I do not know that. What I do know is just that she should still be here.
I’m thinking about the premise of this blog, that we are - sort of - family without knowing each other. That I love you, like a family member, even if I never met you. That you are never truly alone because you have all these siblings all over the world, all these people who understand what you feel, who share your experiences, who are willing to fight for you. It’s a silly little writing gimmick for a positivity blog - but it’s also what I truly believe. It’s what our community does for each other. It’s what we have always done for each other.
We love each other. And we grieve together because a loss like this is never just personal - it ripples through all of us. We should not have to mourn so many of our siblings. We just should not have to.
So today, in Aria’s memory, I want to remind you of that. Of the love that exists in our community, even when we’ve never met. Of the way we hold each other up, even when the world tries to push us down. Let us keep Aria in our thoughts, and also let me remind you that you are loved, that you belong here, that the world is better with you in it.
We will keep showing up for each other. We will keep remembering those we’ve lost and keep fighting like hell for the living. And we will keep loving each other fiercely. Because that is what makes us family.
With all my love,
Your Tumblr Dad

I'm telling yall right now, if Anthony Mackies Captain America movie flops cause yall are boycotting for some dumb fuck reason, yall aren't just hurting that one actor. Marvel isn't gonna look at the failure of a film and think "oh wow, if only we hadn't hired that one person" they're gonna look at the failure and say that Anthony Mackie can't carry a movie. Always, always, always a supporting actor. Go see the movie. The money from your ticket isn't gonna ruin the career of the actor you want it to hurt, but it will hurt the career of Anthony Mackie, who deserves his moment as Captain America and as leading man in his own movie. I understand everyone wants to boycott everything now for whatever reason, but consider how hard Anthony Mackie has fought to make it to the center of the stage. Don't hurt his career like this.
#captain america brave new world#anthony mackie#sam wilson#sam wilson is captain america#captain america#brave new world#anthony mackie is such a good actor and he deserves to succeed

mini yap but i think the big thing about the censorship discussions is that to a lot of people, they seem really hypothetical and conceptual. like some distant far aware threat but really you can't open a comment section about snape/regulus/barty/DE characters on tiktok without seeing at least three comments calling the creator a facist or a nazi sympathiser. no grey space, no understanding, no critical thought just "snape post? you're a massive racist facist"
and of course, there's personal preference! you can say you don't want to engage with these characters,,, but censorship isn't some far away monster - it's already here.
it isn't just incest or teacher/student or any of the other things people complain about, it's all these smaller examples of you not being able to separate fiction from reality and immediately assuming that those engaging with this content are idiots who also can't do this separation.
we also have this same movement against period-typical attitudes. where a marauders fic writer will include misogyny in their fic set in the 70s, and their ask box/comments will be flooded with people saying they hate women and that the text was so misogynistic. "this line was so misogynisti-" it was meant to be. that's why the period-typical attitudes tag is there.
i beggeth you to understand how important these talks are??? like yes, we're writing about wizards but if you ignore that and break it down to the crux of the issue: you are saying that we are awful people for writing and engaging with these things, whilst books like the handmaid's tale and 1984 are pulled off of shelves. you are saying that these things shouldn't be in literature. something that has always been and will always be political, and you don't think the political things should be in it? in a time where these are on the rise and our education of them is being restricted?
we Need to be able to write about these things. politically and historically, we NEED to be able to write about these things, we need to be able to write about discrimination. about hierarchies, about awful morals and hideous acts. that's irrefutable - we need that evidence and that exploration and that critical analysis of society.
and you need to be able to separate fiction from reality. because censorship isn't some metaphorical threat, it's here and you can get on your moral high horse and say it's just the "really bad things" you want gone, but (1) no one is every going to agree because there's no universal morality or legality and (2) it's not just that. and it never will be.
you are in a queer space, i beggeth you to understand censorship will find its way back to your ships, no matter how "morally right" you feel for starting these talks.
#robrauders yap#its so frustrating like#'we only mean inces-' NO YOU DONT !!!#and it doesnt matter if you do!!!#because it wont end there and it hasnt ended there
