As someone who's been there, the "identity stuff" is way more confusing than answering what do you want to do. I knew I wanted to get on feminizing HRT 10 years before I accepted I'm a trans woman.

In general I believe that both gender identity and gender expression belong to the "do what you want forever" category. Do you want to try out these specific clothes? Just do. Narinder was imprisoned for 1000+ years, there is no way in hell that cat has proper social skills, and I want to make that known in my writing that he's horrific at communication and picking up cues as well as articulating and processing his needs and feelings, while also showing a slow development over time.

Narinder is Not Great at reassurance, he's not going to be perfectly 'dont worry, im here for you, everything is gonna be alright'

But he does try

Two examples only. So many times in Trod is Narinder in a position where as a friend he should have comforted and reassured the Lamb (and others), but the way he goes about it is less than ideal. He can be callus, an attempt is made but it's not perfect, and sometimes makes it worse.

Narinder struggles with this type of social interaction that it took the Lamb giving him a talisman and telling him to leave if he wasn't happy, to swallow his pride and look for help to learn how to communicate better

While Narinder does try to downplay the Lamb's importance to him during the conversation with Ratau, there is no denying that him of all people, asking for help...and to apologize of all things, is huge.

When he does apologize, it's still not perfect. It's a harvest ritual with a promise to lend his other half of the power to the Lamb. He doesn't acknowledge what he's done outside of that (we arent there in the development yet) but there is a persistant change from this point forwards.

Another example is the most recent chapter literally titled 'The Winds of Change'.

Narinder isolates himself after every conflict, either running away or pushing away the other.

See: After Leshy's and Heket's rival, Narinder disappears for days avoiding the Lamb, and after Heket's arrival, he starts an argument in the field that results in the Lamb avoiding him. No one wins in either of these.

In the most recent chapter 'Winds of Change', Narinder is learning that the feeling of isolation, and pushing the Lamb away, is not a good feeling.

He is, of course, a jerk about it, but at this point in the story Narinder has developed to the point where his mindset is 'i actually don't like it when we both walk away from the fight with the fear that we'll abandon each other and i would prefer having an uncomfortable conversation and keeping you in my life rather than repeat the same habits that almost kicked you out of it'

He's not going to verbalize that just yet, but we'll get there eventually.

There are several instances in Trod where Narinder does something and has an 'oh shit' moment but I'd be writing for hours if I made a list of them.

keep talking. humans are social animals and it's as simple as this: the ongoing genocide is dire, urgent and catastrophic - i dont think i need to tell you that. but when people, a lot of people, share posts with each other and reiterate this fact the urgency will be felt stronger by everyone, and reach people who would otherwise maybe not see the reports of the genocide on their screens. if people instead choose to stop sharing and stop talking because it's "been so long" or it's "too difficult", the suffering will become normalized and the only thing people will see on their feeds are mundane things - food, pets, fandoms, and it will send the message that oh, it's not that important after all.... sometimes, you SHOULD feel disturbed and uncomfortable. these feelings are not evil - they will be channelled into actions to better a situation and better the world. silence is violence.

search for protests near your town, sometimes they're hard to find but once you find your local organizations for the Palestinian movement, follow them and you will usually find them! this all depends on where you live of course - but most often there will be fundraisers and events and mailing campaigns etc, and the more people joining the better. and, most importantly i would say, share these events and pictures (no faces of strangers, ofc! from protests on your facebook, twitter etc - because that way people close to you will see them and that it's completely rational and normal to attend protests, and if they've been on the fence maybe they will reach out and join you.

pretty tame, all he's doing is streaming movies in the living room so theres something to watch- or more sound to add to the background

he would sneak you snacks if he had them, but he didnt think to grab anything thats friendly for you- that sort of thing doesnt cross his mind that often since he doesnt... eat normal people food

pro at tuning everyone else out, he might just end up tuning you out because hes so used to things descending into chaos

one of the rare occasions where hes out and about rather than being confined to his devices- surely he will use his limited time to hang out with everyone in bulk!

This is a comment I just saw in the wild, and I need to know the real factualness/lack thereof of this from those who are more familiar with internet fandom history.

the evangelical prudishness of the early internet is completely separate from pro/anti ship dynamics. the idea of an anti was popularized in voltron fandom by teenagers who were uncomfortable being attacked by adults in "ship wars" for not liking a prominent ship between an adult and child. evangelicals are still being prudish and nasty online to this day and theyre not doing it with "anti, proshippers dni" in their bios

cross and fresh (in my mind) are side characters outside of the “main” conflict that would be dream vs nightmare. of course they are main characters of their respective stories but focusing solely on this, they arent Necessary for those stories really. theyre both “add-ons” in that sense

cross himself, with xtale and underverse, really separates him from the multiversal conflict and fresh is also more of a fun cameo than he is as an active participant in the story.

when i first put cross and fresh together im going to be honest i forgot about their first interactions within underverse and just moved forward based on the assumption that cross would be uncomfortable by fresh (based on fresh info, where it’s stated that most people find it odd?) and that fresh’s curiosity and respect towards cross for doing what he did for the sake of “survival” is what drew them together.

cross found comfort later in interacting with someone that wasnt directly related to his internal conflict and was also made more comfortable by the fact that fresh didnt judge him for it. or at least not openly. fresh may have teased him for things in the past or annoyed cross to a point but it wasnt overwhelming or made him mad

fresh on his end would just? find cross fascinating. liked to tease him and see his reactions. found the way cross behaved fascinating too. just liked studying the guy

They have always adored your pda, as most of them are too!

Alessio with his arm thrown around your waist, pulling you close and teasingly ghosting his lips above your ears, while his hand squeezes you gently.

Rishen who always has to grab onto your hand to feel the warmth and the comfort of it wrapped around his. He feels naked if he isn’t holding yours or his boyfriend’s hands.

Talisen, who links his arms with you, and dances you along the street to pull you close and dip you. Loving the sounds of your laughs, while his grin grows and his nose meets yours to nuzzle against.

They’d all become so confused the second you would begin pulling away. Recognising the signs of someone building walls, but not being so sure why it was happening. It’d hurt them to bits trying to figure out why you suddenly seemed so distant with them when it came to your usual physical affection.

It is no secret all of them have their insecurities. Talisen, an overthinker alike Rishen, while Alessio begins to worry whether or not he or any of the two have done something to make you uncomfortable with your pda.

Nothing of what any of them asked one another made sense. They knew you too well to know it’d have to be something else, right? What if you were going through something else that made you want to retreat from them and touching.

Was your body aching? Are you getting sick?

Worrying for the next few days, they’d be careful and gentle around you. Trying to see your reactions to the little acts of service around you.

But when they found the source. . . When they saw why you were retreating from touch and them as a whole, oh they were livid.

Of course, the usual deal of uni girls raging over your relationship with them. Ganged up around you, degrading and scolding you.

Disgusting, they called you. A mindless, dumb doll, that doesn’t deserve the attention of the trio memebers.

They say they do not understand what they see in you.

They’d learn it quick when Talisen whisked you away from the group harrassing you. Listening to none of the nonsense that left the mouths of the girls around. Fumbling with apology to the entirety of the group and you. Despite their previous words of throat twisting poison.

Your grip would only tighten around your boyfriend’s arm when Rishen and Alessio began hounding away at the girls. Talisen soon joining in.

It was all too overwhelming, you ended up screaming for everyone to just shut up. Pushing Talisen away from the situation, whilst trying to get the other two with. Grabbing Rishen, who then grabbed Alessio to drag away.

You feel like the panic and overwhelm inside of you is scratching away at through your gut, making holes in it, so that it can bleed out into the rest of your body.

It is so much more intense than it has been any of the other days of this week after the recent rounds of harrassment done upon you by the same girls.

“Just wanna to be left alone. . .” You don’t know how you manage to get the words out. The lump in your throat grows for every moment that passes. It feels like the most logical thing to say, to sit and process and be in peace and not have the pressure of anyone around.

Your boyfriend’s did not seem to agree to your statement though. They stay, but not out of malice. But deep concern — they’ve never seen you this way before it tears them up.

None of them touch you. They want to hear you tell them you feel okay with it before a step to take you into a hug is taken.

“We can’t just leave you after that amor.” Rishen murmurs quietly, while maroon irises scan away at you to make sure you weren’t physically hurt. If any of them laid a hand on you then so help him — He takes a deep breath and shakes his head. It isn’t right to start getting worked up right here and now. You need help.

From the side, Talisen frowns in response to your words. Observing the panic that still crashes through you over and over.

“Baobei, breathe, please?” He whispers to you, hand hovering above the side of your arm. “Can I touch you?”

The simple shake of your head makes him move his hand away, patiently waiting for you to speak.

“Cariño.” Alessio calls out. Voice raspy as usual, a bit more so, after yelling his head off. “What’s going on?”

“I . . . I don’t wanna talk about it.” You sigh out. Tired, hands running down your face, matching the pace of tears streaming down your face. Red from crying at the tugs on your hair, the loud yelling and claps of hands against your ears, that has made them feel like they were bleeding.

It wasn’t something you had ever really though about. That a bunch of girls could turn that malicious just because you were with someone that didn’t even like them.

To seethe with such jealousy. It must paint a soul black with darkness that eats away at all of the insecurities that lay deep within the pit of their brain.

“I just want to rest. I’m not ready to talk.”

The sob that leaves you pierces through their ears the same way it does to the atmosphere. And you feel yourself crumbling slowly at the memories reeling in. Like the loss of sanity you have felt these past few days from the merciless behaviour displayed upon you by several crowds of people. You don’t understand what you did to deserve any of that.

Your boyfriends don’t understand why anybody would do that either. Not to you. You were such a bright soul with so much love inside of it.

Such animalistic people, eating away at your soul like it’s nothing.

“I just want to rest.” You repeat yourself, holding yourself in your arms. As if trying to duplicate yourself to cradle yourself for safety.

“And I need you.” The gasp makes each of them want to take a step forward to pull you in their arms, but they need to be sure before they do.

“Would you like a hug, amore?” Croons Alessio shakily at the display before him. Only to hurry towards you and bring you close when you nod and allow a broken: “yes” to pass through the air around all of you.

The other two are just as quick to get over to you and hug you. The reaper pressing a kiss to your temple, whilst Rishen gently rubs up and down your back to soothe your pains.

It’s hard to say how long the four of you stood like that, but all you know is. For the first time in weeks, you allowed yourself to break and melt, and let the walls crumble to let in the people you love the most in again.

ive been turning these 2 around in my mind so so much lately... id like to share why i like them, so ill do so under cut :)

what draws them together? both of their traumas are part of them. neither of them are going to 'get better' in the expected way. they can learn to cope with their struggles, possibly get medications to help with that, but that's it. theyre similar in many things ('their trauma isnt leaving', both are suicidal "feeling suicidal/i wish i wasnt alive" "i should actually just die id be doing everyone a favor LOL"), neither like who they are as people "all the pretty girls make me not wanna be me" "do u know what thats like? being someone you wouldnt want to know?") and both of their songs are about their relationships with other people, even if its not the main theme

this gives them both a deeper understanding of each other !! even though their traumas are still different, theyve got this similarity. they could talk about that, relate to each other, etc...

another thing that draws them together: their interests, id say! she was a skater girl she was a fitness girl, can i make it any more obvious... most of their hobbies arent the exact same, but they are at least in a similar vein id say - anime and gundam, skating and fitness, rap and megan thee stallion. they could easily enjoy each other's interest, i think!:)

what stands in the way? misunderstanding and miscommunication. i think that (when theyre first getting to know each other, at least) disposable wouldnt stand up for herself/tell chemical when shes uncomfortable/when chemical says something that upsets her ("being mistreated would at least mean im real" "that at least means youre someone that they wanna be around"). she'd feel like voicing these things would cost her her and chemical's relationship. i also feel like she wouldnt see this as something worth communicating, possibly

what are their good traits? they want to be there for each other, to help each other grow, to understand one another!! like in "what draws them together?", they understand each other more than the average person. they could help each other accept this - like, its easier to accept people for things that you beat yourself up about, yknow? were more strict with ourselves than other people, its easier to deem someone else as deserving of love than yourself, etc etc... since theyre similar in many things, they could learn to love themselves while they start to love each other !! i hope that makes sense..

Honestly, it's only a matter of time before Jeff turns around and attacks the person following you, if his presence alone isnt enough to deter them

And hes not going to hold back- the chance of the person not making it out alive is high

Even before he loses it he makes it very clear that hes not too fond of the situation- loudly talking about how some people are creeps.. funny coming from him, someone widely known as a killer

Even using that as an out for the person.. not that it matters much, because as soon as you're home hes going to dip and find the person

He doesn't even need to walk by your side to scare the person off- any normal person would turn around and flee at the sight of a tall faceless creature

And if they dont? He has his other ways...

Walks near the sidewalk, but still away from the street lights. But it doesnt matter, if he feels you're in any danger he can use his arm to pull you to his side

He hardly has to lift a finger to scare off the person, but the offer of him staying until your mind calms is still there

To most he just looks like a weird guy in a mask and hoodie so he might not.. be the most intimidating to most, but having claws and sharp teeth come in handy if the person decides to escalate

And when they do? The person goes from trying to make a lunge at the two of you, to sputtering on the ground grasping their throat. Claw or scalpel, it doesn't matter

He doesnt even want to harvest anything from the corpse- usually hes so firm on that, waste not want not- but god... the air was so uncomfortable that it left a sickly feeling in his mouth...

If you want him to come inside with you when you make it home, he will stay for a while

He doesnt want to kill them if he doesn't need to, they're not worth the time or effort.. he walks close next to you in new silence- you're the one left to fill it

What words he does say are said loudly and are a veiled warning for the person a few paces behind the two of you

His voice is.. cold, and leaves zero room to believe hes not making a promise- he will hurt someone if they get too close, the flick of light reflecting off of his partly concealed knife pushes it

How come we never see Ethan talk? In some of these situations, like the most recent one with the blood bathtub, he could’ve communicated that he’s uncomfortable. I understand that the entire joke is that the Dimitrescus treat him like a pet, but the rest of the world is very aware that he’s a guy just as sentient/ sapient as them. Does your Ethan just not talk?

i know this is an unpopular opinion bc this is the "cut off your friends for having a bad day!!!! theyre toxic! you don't owe anyone ANYTHING!" site but ive found the more people on here talk about shit like "loving people at their worst" and "helping their friends" and "you have to make peace with being a burden" and "the loneliness epidemic is so sad :(((" type posts the more likely they are to be a shit friend that resents actually having to help you for any reason. if you arent capable of being able to help someone thru a mental health crisis or take a risk helping someone in a bad place or in asking if someone's okay and not immediately dropping it at the extremely-typical-symptom-of-cptsd deflecting, you're not a friend, straight up. that is an acquaintance and that is fine. but acting like that's friendship is lying to yourself. its incredible that people act like this is fine on the site that constantly complains friendships arent taken as seriously as romantic relationships - maybe some people crave that romantic relationship bc it comes with an assurance that they won't be given up on as easily. for a literary culture that romanticises loyalty in a big way everyone on here loves to make up excuses to flake on it in their real life relationships with the excuse that the other is a bad person, a terrible friend, toxic, when id bet my ass they never tried to talk to them about the problems they had with them even once lol and i know everyone on here likes to say they're a people pleaser like that's some virtue and not a maladaptive coping mechanism thatll bite you in the ass and choke out all your friendships, but honestly if you can never get yourself to bring up to someone you call a "friend" that they hurt you or made you upset or made you uncomfortable, and you cut them off for that, you're a shit person. if you never once voice your opinion and fault them for not working around it, you're a shit person. if you get mad at and hold grudges against someone for violating boundaries you never once set up or even tried to hint at, or not solving problems they didn't know existed, you're a shit person. i had friends go nuclear and cut me off during the delusional haze after one of the most traumatic events in my life and it was over shit they'd apparently kept silent about for years. years. and never once tried to bring up. some of those things were things we'd already talked about and i apologized for and i thought we'd cleared the air on, but they were still upset over it and held me acting that way in the first place over my head as if i was evil for having those thoughts in the first place, and they'd never once hinted that they were holding that grudge the entire time we were "friends".

i see posts now that are like "it's sooo great to cut a toxic friend out of your life :) breath of fresh air" and i look at the notes in agreement and wonder how many of those people did what they did, refused to talk about their problems only to hold those problems against someone as black marks on their character. very few people actively want to be an asshole, most of the time just telling someone "this hurts" or "this upsets me" is enough to get them to stop and reconsider what they've been doing. i know i didnt want to. i begged you to tell me if id hurt you and you still lied to my face. why did you think id willingly want to hurt a friend? i tried to work with your symptoms, i always came to you when id been upset to get clarification, and i thought you'd do the same. what did i do to deserve that

I cannot give/spawn/materialize things for/to Spamton if you ask because of the way it’s set up. You are really just lines of text from a computer to Spamton, BUT... You can still do a lot if you think outside the box. or,, errr,, outside the computer. More like IN the computer. Kind of. Your words and your actions affect him and his reactions to you, so word it correctly and you can get him to do something or say something. Hes not stupid though, and he CAN usually tell when your intentions are... less.. than good.

[YGM!] is technically an AU!!! not only do the events of the game not occur, but this is also set before then!

Asks are put out one a day, regardless if i have more than one, UNLESS i need to connect two(or more) to complete one event. Or i feel like it. a little treat.

I am one person doing every ask and every unique frame of art, so expect 1 ask (If youre lucky, two) maybe every other day Monday-Friday depending on my workload per day.

This is just for fun!! I am using the askbox to exercise my drawing consistency, Spamton's personality, and the way he speaks and responds to different situations! This is a way I am using to improve my understanding of him as a character, so it wont be always consistent as I am growing and learning!

Just a little disclaimer, he WILL be mean. He is a sour, nasty, grumpy, bastard and I am absolutely not opposed to him responding as such. Just keep that in mind when sending an ask if you dont want that!

If you want a common outcome, talk to other people about it! go crazy! I dont mind long threads on my posts if you want to create a plan. Infact, I can even help and tell you things occasionally!!

What you say to him DOES and WILL affect the way he responds. It is possible to regain his trust, but still a little hard. He is not a trusting person to begin with and being mean certainly doesnt help. BUT.. I am not opposed to being mean. Infact, they are quite fun to do. Either way is entertaining for me, so do as you will. YOU can choose to hurt or help him, because it’s basically always reversible in a way.

Using tone tags, while not required, are really helpful and assist me in understanding the intention in your ask if you think it may be interpreted another way! (i.e. sarcasm) :-)!!

I pick and choose asks depending on his situation, or if i have a good idea for a response, so you may need to wait a bit before i can get to yours!! Ones that i have an idea for take priority, especially when its to progress a scene. Or, alternatively, i am saving your ask for something i have planned.

I WILL reuse frames and poses to get these out faster and for my convienence :-) especially for the frames where there is no need to change his pose! So like.. dont think too hard about it lol.

Also, i prefer if you specify if the ask is for me /or/ Spamton. I do still do normal asks!! If its for me, just let me know!! I can usually tell, but most asks will be interpreted as for Spamton. I wont be consistent with the way its answered. Sometimes it's one panel, sometimes its a couple panels, or sometimes they're animated gifs!! It varies depending on what i feel, so if youre lucky you can get a gif, lol. Those take longer usually though. Ive mostly switched to a gif format rather than multiple panels in a comic style, because its much easier to view! The animation quality can vary :-)
