See I would try to socially transition for a few years first, except no one refers to me as he/they
#ignore me i'm journaling in another tab lol#when you look like me and say you go by all pronouns it's always “she” lol. sometimes the rare “they”#and the one that always makes me laugh: 'her pronouns are they/them'. like thanks mate very helpful#and i do go by all pronouns so it's all good! i just wonder if i should try these two out exclusively for a while#i say this as if i didn't do this a few years ago. ......shut up.#i'll say that the last time i went out with pals and my partner i asked them to refer to me as he/him for the night and it didn't feel weir#but idk. i think it only sometimes feels weird because 1) it's so binary and 2) i clearly do not look like a cis guy so it's hard to pictur#i.................... think i HAVE been socially transitioning for three years. damn it.#i wish pronouns just didn't exist lol. it's too hard to decide#and every time i get excited about transition and ALMOST decide to do it i suddenly remember aaaaaall my partner's family members exist.#mostly their SIL's family. very very big and traditional. that wedding this summer was dysphoria HELL. absolute hell.#i understand why people start hrt without telling anyone. my god it's so much easier and no one can try to convince you not to do it.

“Go away, old man,” groaned a frighteningly hungover pirate captain, who was still face down on the floor of his quarters. Sheets with too many smells had already been stripped from his bed, but the night had held too much liquor for him to replace them on his own, so he’d slept on the rug.
“I’d love to,” Benn snorted, rolling Shanks onto his back. “Is my captain done drownin’ his sorrows?”
“Dunno what you mean.”
He cringed while he pushed himself up to lean against the wall, and couldn’t meet his first mate’s eyes.
“You’re too kind hearted for this, captain,” the older man sighed. “Why don’t you find a sweet, little barmaid to dote on like a respectable pirate, eh? What about–”
“I don’t want bunnies. I want…” Shanks growled, but his anger fizzled out at the thought of predators and prey.
“Nah. The Great, Red Haired Shanks just wants ungrateful brats that leave him crying on the floor a few times a year.”
The Great, Red Haired Shanks pulled himself to his feet, only to stumble over to an uncorked bottle in the corner, taking a grateful swig when he found it full.
“Just had too much fun is all,” he laughed, the bitter taste drowning out the sweetness of the wine.
“Well, next time that creepy asshole gives my captain too much fun, I’m gonna make sure it’s him that’s crying, ya hear me?”
“Sure, old man,” Shanks snorted, letting his first mate guide him to the shower, still downing that wine to fight off images of wicked, beautiful eyes. He wondered how long it would take this time for the cruel hint of gold to leave his mind.
The Great, Red Haired Shanks didn’t need bunnies or hawks. He just needed the sea, his crew, and another fucking bottle.

“It’s been some time since our last session. How have you been feeling, Y/N?”
Dr. Vorsan’s pale eyes always felt sticky. Puddles of too much glue, waiting to capture anything you let slip from your shaky fingers, your trembling lips.
Breathe.
“I’m feeling well, Doctor,” you lied, keeping your voice soft. “I’m sure you've heard about my recent behavior… I believe the experience has offered me some much needed clarity.”
Everything about this man was pale and watery, and you reminded yourself not to frown at his beige suit. It would have seemed like the doctor wanted to fade into the background, if every boring detail about him hadn’t been so exquisitely tailored.
“That’s good to hear,” he praised, though the emptiness in his voice had you fighting to stay present. “Why don’t you tell me about it. You’re going through a lot of transitions, Y/N. Major life changes, even positive ones, can cause a lot of strain. Have you been feeling strained, Y/N?”
Mmssorry,” you slurred, fighting your lips that had already frozen, not even five minutes in.
“You stated that your time with the Cross Guild brought you clarity,” Dr. Vorsan noted. Those sticky eyes seemed to warm while your body left your control, until you couldn’t meet them anymore, couldn’t look higher than his elbows. “By putting yourself in such a dangerous–”
“I wasn’t–”
You were heavy and loose now, your whispered denial draining the last of your energy.
“You’re in a safe place, Y/N,” he promised while he pulled a shiny, gold pen from his jacket, propping up a notepad on his knee. “Do you know where you are?”
He asked again, voice so soft, until you nodded in agreement.
“Good, Y/N. Just take some deep breaths, and we can stop whenever you need to. We’ll help you get clarity, so you can stay well. Do you want to stay well, Y/N?”
“Y-yes, Doctor.”
“Wonderful,” he purred, scratching a note onto the top of his page, the movement of his manicured hands holding your gaze. “Why don’t you tell me about the clown?”

“With Sylvad’s cowardly level of security, I believe this would be too risky to use, but you should take it, in case the opportunity arises.”
“It’s so small,” Shanks hummed, inspecting Mihawk’s earpiece transponder snail, its tiny eyes blinking up at him slowly. “Maybe if I–”
“Save it,” Crocodile ordered, pushing away his untouched meal before closing the ornate shell container in Shanks’ palm, shutting those little eyes away. “Right now, the safest way to save our girl is for you to marry her. Don’t put that at risk by acting suspicious.”
Shanks stared at the closed shell before tucking it away, looking up to find his old friend winking at him.
“Don’t fret, love. We can have a belated bachelor party when you return,” Mihawk teased, combing his fingers through that bright, red hair.
“But Buggy—”
“I’m not thrilled about it either,” Crocodile sighed, standing to usher the other man out of the suite, “but it’s our best chance. That’s your mission. We’ll be listening, we have the location, and we can reach out to your crew if we need to share something vital. Can you do this?”
The two men stared each other down again, the swordsman’s hand dropping away to give them space.
“I’ll bring her back,” Shanks swore again, offering Crocodile his hand. The larger man shook it, but the press of time killed their peaceful moment.
The Emperor made his way into Adam’s room, waiting for Buggy’s permission to speak, but his clown looked pained, and Shanks couldn’t wait.
“What’s wrong, Bugs?”
Buggy’s hands were cramping from recording the pros and cons of the men that might marry his star. His throat was tired from swallowing nasty fears and guilt at the thought of Y/N actually finding someone she wanted to be with.
“You’re leaving,” he whispered, letting out a sigh when Shanks nodded. Strong fingers were so gentle as they brushed hair behind his ear, pens not doing enough to hold up all of that blue.
“I’m gonna fix this, Bugs.”
“She doesn’t believe…”
Though jealousy had turned him into someone he didn’t recognize, now when he saw that look of love in Buggy’s eyes for Y/N, Shanks wanted to burn all the oceans to bring them back together.
“She loves me, but she thinks it’s over, Shanks. My star’s really looking for someone else.”
“That’s not gon–”
“Make sure it’s you, alright, shithead?”
Buggy pressed his last piece of hope into Shanks’ palm, before letting himself hold and be held by this beautiful man that had been so many things to him over the years. He sank to the floor, allowing soothing kisses to be left along his unraveling hair while slow, exhausted tears escaped him.
Shanks opened his mouth to comfort, to promise, to share, but Buggy reached for the notepad again, mumbling about her “favorites.” After a rushed, bittersweet kiss, the red headed pirate was on his way, met by his golden eyed lover in the hall.
“Making sure I don’t run off with all your booze,” he tried to smile, feeling the weight of distance already crashing over him.
“Something like that,” Mihawk teased. “I thought I’d send you off.”

“How was your session with Dr. Vorsan,” Uncle Cedrick taunted, filling the dining room with ice.
“It went well.”
You’d managed to bring yourself back, to find your body and voice again before dinner, knowing that he’d be waiting to poke at you.
“Excellent,” he purred, killing your appetite again. “He’ll be staying until the wedding, just in case you need the extra support.”
“Thank you, Uncle,” you hummed, forcing down a bite.
“So polite,” he laughed, touching your moms chin to lift her face up. “See, Delaine. A little time with the doc, and your daughter’s already feeling better. Maybe she’ll even stop asking her mama bird to chew up her food soon.”
“She can stop after the wedding,” you said coldly, not enjoying the cruel laugh he gave at her expense.
“Such a high maintenance bride,” he taunted, towering over you all when he stood from his seat, offering you his arm. “Come on, smarty. Let’s take a walk.”
Kat started to argue for you, but it was a pointless battle, so you left the other Sylvad ladies at the table, letting Uncle Cedrick guide you out to the lavish courtyard.
“I know you’ve been reviewing the details with Kat, instead of your mother, but I expect you to be prepared tomorrow. You know the rules of the game?”
“The suitors have a month to win me,” you recited while he led you through the tables, dragging you to the beautiful, carved bench where the introductions would be held. “They’re not allowed to fight amongst themselves unless it’s for the game, and they have to leave grudges aside until after someone wins my heart. They’ll all have time with me as a group and in private, and they can woo me however they like, so long as it doesn’t endanger me, or take me off the island.”
The pride in his smile wasn’t for you, but he beamed it at you, nonetheless.
“Since you’ve been doing so well, I’m sure you can remember a few more rules. Think you can handle that, smarty?”
“Yes, Uncle,” you agreed, sending your rage down into the stone beneath you.
“You need to remember that choice is a fucking luxury, Y/N,” he threatened, brushing the hair back from your face while he leaned too close, his cologne filling your lungs. “After the fiasco you could have caused, and after all these years of abusing my patience, you’re lucky I’m letting you play this little game at all.”
His hateful words were drawn out with lazy pleasure, and he kept his fingers in your hair, stroking you like a pet. Like his pretty doll.
“You’re going to give all of your suitors a fair chance. They’re here to enjoy themselves, so I won’t have you chasing anyone off too soon. You’re going to whittle them down slowly, and carefully, and with my approval. Your final two suitors will be offered a deal, and if they don’t accept it, they won’t get my blessing.”
“So…”
“So, do whatever you need to do to convince the men you like the most to take that deal.”
Nodding so you wouldn’t spit, you seethed when he tugged at your chin the way he’d touched your mother’s earlier. Your eyes were forced to his, and the stars above seemed to burn like acid as your face tilted up toward them.
“I’ll do anything to protect this family,” Uncle Cedrick vowed as he rubbed his thumb across your snarling lips. “If there’s a man that can offer a better deal, then he’ll get my blessing, no matter your preference. So get ready to use this smart, little mouth of yours, niece. I wonder if you’re a good enough whore to convince anyone to stay? Though I have to confess, after all of your tantrums, I think my spoiled brat of a niece might deserve a man that can put her in her place.”
He laughed at your stifled hatred, wiggling your face before releasing you.
“Give them all a chance to win you,” Uncle ordered, satisfaction dripping from his parted lips.
He enjoyed watching you suffer. Enjoyed it in a way that made your skin crawl, but you could never fully hide your rage from him, no matter how skilled you became. He could fucking sniff it out.
“If I catch you sabotaging any suitor’s feelings for you before I’ve given the approval to drop them, then I’ll make sure you get some extra special time together. It’s only fair.”
All of the acceptance you’d been building up was crashing down around you, and you held in your tears, not wanting to see the pleasure on his face if he tore them from you.
You wanted to run away.
He found me. He could have had Karai Bari wiped off the fucking map, and Buggy…
“Well, niece, do you understand? Or do I need to—“
“I’ll fuck the one’s I like to make them take your deal,” you growled, almost losing your vision from the rage that was coursing through you. “And I’ll fuck the one’s I hate so you won’t know which piece of shit to trap me with.”
Cedrick Sylvad threw his head back, bellowing his cruel laughter up to the twinkling sky.
“Oh, this is going to be fun,” he wheezed, before leaving you there with a dismissive wave of his hand. “Don’t stay up too late, niece.”
He didn’t leave you with a guard. There was no need.
I’ll never get away. These are my choices. Pros and cons.
The silent courtyard felt like a cemetery while you struggled to move, to head off to bed, and end this shitty night. Your fingers found their way to your locket, the touch of warm metal helping to calm your breathing while you stared at all the cold, shining stars above you.
“At least I have all those pretty daydreams,” you whispered, feeling like an empty doll as you floated off to bed.

“Hawk Eyes.”
It had been a couple of years since Mihawk had stepped foot onto the Red Force, but his body had memorized every step toward the captain’s quarters, and they walked there without a thought.
Until a tall, scowling man blocked his path.
“Good afternoon, Benn. How—“
“How about you get the fuck—“
“Hey now,” Shanks laughed, stepping between his first mate and the swordsman, who’d raised a brow at the threatening tone. “We’re good, Benn! He’s just seeing us off.”
“Well, I’ll see him off a fucking cliff if he makes you—”
Shanks cut him off, pulling Mihawk into his quarters while Benn narrowed his eyes, his arms flexing as he crossed them over his chest.
“If I make him…” Mihawk asked, focusing on the hint of pink that was blossoming on Shanks’ cheeks.
Cute.
“Benn, get the crew ready. We’re heading out soon.”
“Aye, captain,” he agreed, still leaning toward the swordsman through the doorway. Benn jerked his head to the side as unruly strands of long, gray hair escaped his tie, getting in the way of his glare. “If you ever make my captain cry again, I’m gonna turn those pretty, gold eyeballs into pretty, gold earrings, ya hear me?”
“Thanks, Benn,” Shanks shoved the man out, locking himself into his quarters with his wicked, old friend whose mouth was hanging wide open. He might have laughed at the sight if he hadn’t wanted to crawl under the floorboards.
Fuck you, Benn…
“Cry?”
Shanks had watched those lips move. He’d heard that voice speak.
Yet his mind couldn’t connect that trembling word to the deadly rival before him.
The sweetness that had echoed through Mihawk’s bones with every step beside his lover had curdled again, guilt and shame scraping up his throat, strangling the words he’d hoped to share.
I don’t deserve it.
“You’re shaking,” the red haired pirate breathed as he reached for one of those dangerous hands. Everything was unsteady. Nothing in this world fit anymore, but Shanks tried to laugh it off. “Is Dracule Mihawk feeling jealous? I never had you pegged for the marriage type.”
“No,” he choked a laugh, brittle and stinging as he sat on the bed. The same, old bed they’d shared countless times. “I’m so sorry, Shanks.”
Those words again.
This “vacation” of his had felt like the most outrageous, delicious dream held hostage by a nightmare, and Shanks felt a sudden terror that he was about to wake up to find it was all gone.
In case it was about to disappear, Shanks sat beside his vicious, old friend, and pressed a kiss to the man’s temple. Mihawk wrapped his arms around him, clinging, feeding into the unreality of this soft, lovely dream.
“Are you alright, Hawk,” Shanks breathed.
Instincts would have sent the swordsman out the door by now. Every thought pushed him out, guilt, and fear, and lies, no longer strong enough to outweigh the need to keep holding Shanks against him, to keep inhaling his comforting scent.
The need to run was fueled by his new piles of shame. An unconscious demand to leave. Leave. Leave.
“I’m done…”
“What’s that,” Shanks tensed at the whisper. He fought his rising dread, tracing his fingers through that pretty, black hair. As they always had, Mihawk’s hypnotic eyes made his world pause, yet in this moment they seemed like true magic. The swordsman had once been blank, unknowable, giving no depth, though Shanks had reached and delved as far as his old rival would let him.
Now those golden eyes were hypnotizing not for their blankness, but for the swirling depths that pulled him in. Pools of molten metal, pain, and need, and other things Shanks couldn’t think clearly enough to try to understand.
Mihawk couldn’t understand how this beautiful, glorious man could still stand to look at him, let alone offer him comfort. He almost talked himself out of the room again, but vowed that he was done being a coward. He would fight. He would never run.
Never again.
“I know I…” Mihawk started, losing his train of thought while he stared at his old friend that could have been something so much more.
What’s the point of being safe if I can’t even…
“Hawk?”
“I love you. I know it’s too late. I’m sorry, I–mmn!”
All that dread exploded, leaving Shanks absolutely fucking high. None of this could be real, but what a dream.
“Took you long enough, old friend,” he purred. Mihawk whimpered beneath him, shaking under his touch after Shanks had pushed him onto his back, kissing him as though he’d disappear if he stopped.
“I’m s-sorry, Sha–”
“Are you lying? Manipulating me?”
He gripped Mihawk’s face, wanting to throw this fear off the ship. Gods, he wanted to believe it, to feel it.
Mihawk let out a breath, a weak sob, as the gold of his eyes was dressed with diamonds. The monster was even more hypnotizing when he cried.
“I’m not lying,” he confessed. Memories flooded the swordsman now, filling the air around him with regret, and with the hope he was fighting to keep. He reached up, cupping Shanks’ face while he blinked away his salty fear. “You loved a coward, old friend, but I’m done running. I love you. I’m so sor–”
Shanks couldn’t tell if he was laughing, or crying as he fell onto the wicked, intoxicating man beneath him.
“I love you too, Hawk. I still love you. Could never stop.”
“Shanks…”
“Say it again,” Shanks breathed while he kissed along Mihawk’s throat, dizzy while one of his dearest fantasies played out before him.
“I love you, Shanks.” Mihawk shivered, clinging, reaching, falling to pieces. Shameful parts of him still screamed to run, still thought so many cruel, ungrateful things, but there was nothing like the satisfied sounds his lover made when he said those words. “I have loved you in my cowardly heart. I’m sorry I– fuck!”
The red haired pirate fisted his hair with vicious force while he rutted his clothed cock against him, chuckling as he watched those hypnotizing eyes flutter with need.
“Why are you sorry?”
“I…”
Mihawk was already lost in him, and Shanks let that sweetness pour over his body, his breath relaxing as he decided how to take care of his lover.
“You’re sorry because you didn’t say you love me, right,” he purred, kissing tingles into Mihawk’s skin as he breathed along his temple to his jaw. The swordsman gave a weak nod, and a little whine, so Shanks nibbled at his ear, telling his boy how to please him.
“I don’t wanna hear another ‘sorry,' you hear me,” he threatened, tracing his thumb along Mihawk’s hip, dipping down into those low riding pants. “You’d better keep telling me what you should have back then.”
“Shanks,” Mihawk moaned, undoing the lacings of his own clothes before clawing at Shanks’, desperate beneath the sway of that crooked smile. “I love you.”
The Emperor of the Sea forgot.
Nothing to do. Nowhere to be.
Shanks just had to make this man say those words again and again. It had been so fucking long. They touched and kissed every inch of each other in their mad rush to claim every moment before the dream faded away, until the swordsman looked over his shoulder, begging so pretty. So perfect.
“I need you, daddy,” Mihawk relaxed, ready. “Need you, love you, want… mm, please…”
“I need you too, bright eyes,” Shanks hummed, fingers finding their way in, cool lube easing the stretch while he made his lover moan into the wrinkled sheets. “I need my pretty boy to let me love him. You finally gonna let me, Hawk?”
“Please,” he begged. The press of Shanks’ cock teasing at him was too much, and he writhed, shoving himself back until he cried out, earning the full force of that powerful body.
“Look at you. Knew you’d be so good for me, baby.”
His fingers caressed while he pressed that pale skin into the mattress, and Shanks let everything go, praising, taking, and hurting his lover until they both went fucking mad. Mihawk let himself feel safe in the pleasure and the pain.
Safe.
His lover made him cry, and bleed, and come, before laying his own claim. Shanks’ heavy cock filled him, on and on, leaving Mihawk twitching and whining. There they stayed, breathing, sweating, and whispering those words until they remembered.
“I’ve gotta go, Hawk... Will you still love me when I come back,” Shanks asked as reality returned, failing to hide all the true fear in his voice.
“My lover gone away to sea. I shall await thee,” Mihawk hummed, moaning when Shanks pulled away, his body still craving his touch.
“Are you writing love poems already?”
Mihawk could have stayed in that bed for days, but she was there in his mind. Still trembling from love and pleasure, fear followed him while he helped Shanks clean the evidence of their selfish lust, low chuckles still warming the air around them through it all.
“I’ll write poetry for you, my love,” he breathed, eyes fluttering at the new touches he’d earned. “But you’re right. You need to leave.”
Demands felt wrong, so the swordsman finished drying and dressing his lover, until the Emperor pulled him close, their foreheads pressed together while he tried not to succumb to his own selfish terror.
“I love you, Hawk Eyes,” Shanks let out one more time, while the memory of empty eyes burned through his soul. Y/N had helped both of his lovers, had helped him find them again, to hold them again, had helped them open up.
I owe her everything.
“I love you too, Red Hair,” Mihawk gave a true smile, shaky though it was. The voice calling for him to run was easily ignored with the gratitude and desperation rolling through him now. “Please–”
“Don’t worry, baby,” Shanks laughed, kissing those lips again before leading his deadly lover off the ship. “If I can win over Dracule Mihawk’s icy heart, then there’s no beast I can’t charm.”

~~~🌲🌲🌲~~~
“I’m fine.”
“Liar.”
Kat managed to pull a laugh from you while servants buzzed around, swarming like bees as you waited in the courtyard for your new life to begin.
Whenever a big tree fell on Sylvad property, it would be easy to cart it away, to sell it into little pieces, but this courtyard was built to show off one of your favorite family traditions.
The last few generations of Sylvad’s had refused to let a fallen tree be scurried away like something to be ashamed of. If a tree fell on a Sylvad estate, it was to be celebrated to honor the hard work and creativity that made your family’s name synonymous with power, wisdom, and enough wealth and status to rival nobility.
You sat on one of those dead trees, the trunk carved into a formidable, layered bench along the base of the manor, while the lantern lit courtyard stretched out toward the forest. On and on the bench seemed to go, covered with lifelike, and even life size animals trying to spring into your world from the fallen wood.
Childhood memories trampled over you for a moment, just like your little body had once tried to climb and claim this wonder of the forest. The obedient bees brought you back to the present, doing some last minute touch ups to your hair and makeup while they fluffed up your giant gown.
Asking why you were in a white dress before your wedding day had sent you into rigid silence once the rest of the ensemble was forced onto you.
Don’t bite the help. Don’t bite the help… Do deer bite people?
“I’ll be right over there all night, okay,” Kat’s voice pushed through the mass of bodies. “Make that face if you need me to step in.”
“There’ll be no need for that, ladies,” Uncle scolded, his presence scattering the hovering pests around you. He beamed at your sister while he patted her cheek, before sending her to sit with your sulking mother. Kat gave you a weak smile, leaving you on that extravagant bench while your uncle managed to sit beside you without mussing your dress.
The music may have been pretty. The lanterns lighting up beneath the golden, darkening sky might have been enchanting.
It was even possible that one of the men in that crowd of guests breaking through the treeline onto the stone pathway would make a lovely husband.
You tried to breathe, tapping nervously against the locket you’d stuffed into the corset of your dress since it hadn’t “fit the theme.”
What a feeling it was to finally know that love was real. Yet, such was your fate that you had to keep killing and burying the futile wish that you could have kept it for yourself.
All of these men are here to own me. Every single one.
“Don’t forget to smile, dear niece,” Uncle taunted, leaning close enough to warm your cheek with his words. He laughed at his little joke, while you tried to obey.
You were the white stag.
You were his helpless prey, whose sole purpose was to be hunted, mounted, and displayed. Nothing more than a tasty trophy.
The stupid, white antlers in your hair felt heavier with each moment while you watched your hunters stalk ever closer. The men had separated from their guests who were being seated so that everyone could watch your uncle’s little show, while the suitors formed a line.
“If you–”
“You already won, Uncle,” you cut him off, eyes scanning the edge of the forest while more figures appeared. “I’ll be well behaved venison from here on… what the f–”
“Smile.”
No fucking way.
Kat had followed your line of sight, and if your face matched the look on hers, you needed to shake it off now. The last thing you needed to do was offend one of these men that could squash you like a bug.
Sis was right. We should have asked for measurements.
Swallowing manic laughter at the thought, you split into pieces, becoming the hunted. The truest part of you watched the show from a deep, dark hole within while you smiled at Uncle Cedrick, although your body couldn’t hide the shivers that broke through.
“Smart girl,” he hummed, curdling your stomach before he pressed your hand into an old man’s wrinkly grip.
Your suitors had arrived.
“Giberson, lovely to see you. Let me introduce you to my niece. She’s—“
“The Cross Guild’s young CFO, if my sources aren’t mistaken? I can’t imagine there’s another Y/N Sylvad gallivanting about.” Giberson caught you off guard, and you were a deer in the headlights when his scratchy, white mustache tickled across your fingers.
His words had left you frozen, and he released your hand, seeming a little wobbly while he balanced with his jewel encrusted cane. The old man adjusted his pin striped hat, making his tall body seem even lankier in the matching suit.
“I shouldn’t be surprised,” Uncle Cedrick laughed, clapping the old man on the back. “You probably know more about the competition than I do. So, have you decided to join the game, or will you just be staying for the entertainment?”
This old man is one of the Emperors of the Underworld…
Giberson’s dossier had been the lightest you’d received, yet somehow that made him more frightening, along with his epithet; The Concealer.
“Hopefully I’ll have more luck at this wedding than I did at the last one I attended. Bodies just don’t recover the same when you get to be my age,” Giberson chuckled as he tapped his knee with his cane a few times. “Still, I may be old, but I can’t resist the offer to join in such a delightful game.”
“Happy hunting, good man. I’m confident that some time in Y/N’s company will put some pep back in your step,” Uncle encouraged, pulling an intricately carved arrow from a quiver at his back, adding to the vision of the dark hunter he exuded tonight. He handed it to you, giving you the illusion of choice.
You’d been told not to stand unless you absolutely had to, so you looked up at him through your lashes. Your painted doe eyes needed no help looking helpless, but you obeyed just the same. Giberson smelled of whiskey when he leaned down to accept the arrow from your grasp, a satisfied smile on those aged lips.
“Just watch out, little lady. These young boys aren’t done fighting yet,” he stepped back, nodding subtly over his shoulder. “It would be a shame to see such a precious thing get caught up in the crossfire. I’d rather like to avoid that fate myself this time around.”
“Not to worry, Giberson, we’re all here to enjoy a more civilized kind of battle. Although, the betting pools have already added a few extra categories for all the possibilities this month presents.”
The men ignored you now, but you had to keep your face mildly pleasant while you reminded yourself not to scratch it, so as not to risk fucking up the subtle deer makeup across your nose and cheeks.
Humiliating.
You were the only animal at the banquet. The only thing on the menu. Everyone else got to be human.
Well, maybe not everyone…
“Are these supposed to be this fucking tight? This can’t be right…”
Shanks tugged and pulled at the dove gray pants he’d been gifted by Sylvad’s attendants, his head snapping up at the choked sound coming from his first mate’s throat.
“What’s wrong?”
Benn had changed quickly, the banquet already getting started when the two of them had stepped foot onto the private island. The older man had lucked out, easily fitting into the borrowed suit that was such a dark blue it was almost black, although he’d rolled up the sleeves, and traded the jacket for his purple cloak. Having some breathing room around his muscular arms made him seem slightly less annoyed since their weapons had to remain on the Red Force.
Benn was too distracted to care about their weapons at the moment though, wheezing while he watched his mighty captain try to stuff all of his bits into those tiny pants.
“Did you try the other pairs?” Benn failed to hide his laughter, having to clear his throat and look away.
“They're all the same size– He can’t really expect me to wear this?”
His eyes were wide, unconsciously shaking his head while he gaped at his reflection.
The tight, gray breeches seemed designed specifically to showcase every curve of his cock and balls. The soft fabric was tucked into black, knee high boots that a certain swordsman would have coveted, but Shanks felt like he was going insane with the urge to light the borrowed clothes on fire.
“No. I’m not going out there like this,” Shanks resisted.
“You said you’d do anything for her, captain. Don’t you wanna get on the uncle’s good side?” Benn’s laughter vanished while he draped a black cloak over his Captain’s shoulders, fastening the high collar around his throat. His thick fingers trailed down over the frilly, white shirt, checking the small, black vest that was little more than a girdle, before tying off his captain's sleeve. “This bunny of yours worth the tight pants?”
“Emperor Shanks, sir,” came a soft voice beyond the door. “The banquet is underway, is there anything I can assist– Oh I– Oh…”
He forgot what he was about to ask this poor girl when he opened the door, because the look on her face gave him everything he needed.
“You doing alright, darlin,” Shanks purred, touching one of the girl’s bright, red cheeks.
Benn chuckled, pushing through the doorway, and onto the stone path, ordering his captain to hurry it up.
“Y-yes, I am, sir,” she trembled, letting out a giggle when Shanks winked, and the sweet sound brought him back.
“Good girl. Why don’t you show us where to go?”
~~~
“You always strut, but I can’t remember the last time I saw you strutting like this,” Benn smirked.
“I can’t help it! These boots have heels.”
Shanks stuck out his tongue before they passed beyond the denser trees.
“You have been invited to join the game, Emperor Shanks.” The servant bowed her head while she gestured toward the center of the decorated courtyard. “I’ll lead your guest to his table now, unless you’d rather not accept the offer?”
“Why not,” Shanks beamed at her, though the sight of his competition made him fight not to sway on those uncomfortable heels.
“Looks like you and your tiny pants might be outmatched, captain,” Benn whispered, patting him on the back before following the pretty girl to a table full of enemies.
Shanks had barely made it here in time, and felt a twinge of guilt return while the last suitors moved out of the way, but the sight of her stopped the blood in his veins.
Twilight had crept into dusk, and the dancing light of the lanterns bathed her painted skin, her white dress, and ethereal antlers, seeming to glow from within. Y/N shone like a wounded star, bleeding out her light for all of these monsters to drink.
“The clothes suit you well, Emperor,” Cedrick purred, making his niece flinch. She hid herself away before Shanks could decipher what he’d seen behind her mesmerizing eyes.
“I had no idea that fashionable friends could be so generous,” he charmed, stalking closer and closer until he caught her cold hand in his. “Or that I’d have the pleasure of meeting such a gorgeous, little bunny again so soon. Sorry, you're a gorgeous, little doe, aren’t you?”
She stared while he pressed his lips to her knuckles, and he took in every detail, wishing he could just grab her and run.
She’s not wearing Buggy’s locket…
Before new anxiety could set in, Shanks had to swallow his rage at the sound of that voice.
“Either would make for a good hunt. The nice Emperor asked you a question, Y/N,” Sylvad taunted, tapping her thigh with a decorative arrow.
“It’s alright, bunny.” He gave her a crooked smile while she gave him nothing, so he turned to the smirking piece of shit by her side. “From what I’ve gathered, we might get to spend some more time together soon. Do I have that right, new friend?”
“I treat my friends very well, but family is everything,” Cedrick vowed. “There'll be plenty of time to discuss details later, but if you’d like to accept the offer to join this little game, then you may get to enjoy more than just our famous Sylvad hospitality.”
Shanks bought himself some time by letting his eyes rake over her again.
I’m a villain. I’m not here to rescue her.
“How could I resist?”
“Go on,” her uncle beamed with triumph, shoving the arrow into her hand.
The woman that had captured the hearts of the only two people Shanks had ever truly loved met her Uncle’s cruel gaze before looking back up at the Emperor of the Sea. Her eyes fluttered while she offered him the arrow, keeping her hands close to her face so that he felt her breath on his fingers as pulled the symbolic weapon from her grip.
His lips parted as he became trapped in her eyes again, although that haunting pull had been replaced by a desire so hot, it rivaled the stars. Y/N's bare need felt like a gift from the heavens.
“Thank you,” he breathed, twirling the arrow in his fingers while he bowed his head at that fallen star, before winking at her captor.
“Happy hunting, Shanks.”

~~~🌲🌲🌲~~~
Giberson had finally stopped gossiping with Uncle Cedrick, so you became the prey again, smiling up at your next suitor.
Suitors.
You couldn’t help glancing toward Kat while her favorite pick stepped up alongside his brothers.
These men should have been intimidating, and they had been, for a moment.
Yet now, the three princes of the Germa Kingdom were all staring down at you like hungry puppies.
What the fuck?
“Welcome, Ichiji, Niji, Yonji. This is my niece, Y/N. It is an honor to welcome you to our humble estate.”
“The honor is ours,” one of the princes crooned, laying a kiss with almost too much pressure against your knuckles.
Ichiji. The red head is Ichiji.
Your mind rattled through everything you could recall while his green and blue haired brothers took their turns, their loose shirts and billowing capes moving prettily in the light breeze.
Somehow the word “prince” had made their blatant lust seem shocking, and you almost laughed at how fucking naive that was.
They were here to buy you, just like all the rest, and their royal hands lingered on your skin when they accepted their arrows.
~~~
“There you are, old friend!”
“Cedrick. It’s good to see you.”
“Mr. Iceburg?”
Excitement tore through you, and you almost leapt to your feet so you could hug your dad’s old friend.
Your uncle’s old friend…
Iceburg, the Mayor of Water 7, and the CEO of Galley-La.
You’d had an embarrassing crush on the man, even before he brought all of those shipbuilding companies under one name seven years ago, creating his own empire. Water 7 was your company’s most powerful, and profitable connection, so you’d spent a lot of your childhood on that watery island while your dad made deals with this handsome entrepreneur.
He’d always been kind, and funny, and had never ignored or patronized you like so many of the other business contacts dad had made you spend time with.
“Well, Y/N, don’t you look stunning,” Iceburg hummed, leaning down close to kiss your cheek. It was something he’d done many times, but your skin still flushed with heat as it always had. “I hardly recognized my little numbers girl.”
With your mouth hanging open, you felt like a child come face to face with her dream, only to find that the dream carried a bitter aftertaste.
But it still looked fucking good.
Your eyes traveled up and down his tall frame, snagging on the black, leather pants tucked into knee length boots. He had rarely buttoned his shirts all the way before, but now the loose fabric of his rust-colored tunic hung wide open, and you found yourself blinking up at the lovely frame it made around his tanned skin, and dark, blue chest hair.
“Don’t keep our dear friend waiting, Y/N,” Uncle Cedrick urged, tapping your hands with the arrow until you snapped out of your teenage fantasy.
“May I,” Iceburg asked, his eyebrow raising just a bit while he watched you nod.
He’s here to buy me. He wants to buy his friend’s daughter. Wants to…
His thumb traced over your wrist before he pulled away, the rough touch of a carpenter's hand making you shiver.
“See ya, girlie,” Iceburg winked, wrecking you for the next hopeful.
~~~
Luckily the next hopeful didn’t matter, although it felt like you’d just lost a safety net.
“I do apologize,” whined the most ‘boring’ candidate, Mr. Halvens. “I’m afraid I will have to decline. There are certain elements here that I cannot have my name associated with.”
“Not to worry,” Uncle laughed. “You’re welcome to stay for the banquet, although I'd recommend keeping your voice down if you plan to disparage my other guests again.”
The poor man went pale, and you were disgusted with your urge to laugh at his pathetic scrambling when your uncle’s laughter rolled over you first.
~~~
“Prince Fukaboshi,” you projected, staring up at the massive merman. There was a ring of what looked like a bubble around his waist, and his blue, spotted tail seemed to float just slightly above the ground.
You had prepared yourself for a merman.
Not for a fucking giant.
“I am looking forward to winning your heart, Miss Sylvad,” he charmed, although the effect was strange from almost two stories up. Fukaboshi's regal voice rushed toward you when he leaned down, and you tried to smile under that sharp face, that cloud of light, blue hair.
The arrow seemed to shrink once his fingers pulled it so carefully from yours, before he joined his guests at the edge of the courtyard. You could still feel the prince's gaze, like a cool weight over your skin.
~~~
How the fuck…
The fact that the next suitors weren’t even the tallest people you’d met tonight was insane, and you had to fight not to let panicked laughter escape while you were introduced to these two brothers.
“Thank you so much for coming. This is my niece, Y/N. I know she’s been looking forward to meeting you both, Cracker, and Katakuri.” Uncle Cedrick smiled at the frightening brothers, seeming almost giddy when he handed you their arrows.
Cracker leaned down first, and he had to be a couple of feet taller than… He also carried a fierce scar on his face, scraping across his right eye. When he grinned, his bright, pink irises seemed to eat you up, a near manic look behind them.
You couldn’t make sense of his clothes, so you tried not to look at the giant fucking crackers hanging around his belt, or at his light, purple hair that was tied into long buns that seemed to be crackling with fire.
Katakuri was even taller, almost as tall as the merman prince, but he went to a knee to get closer to you. His clothes were all leather with scratches and spikes artfully placed to look even more ready for violence. Pink tattoos kissed along his bare chest and arms, and the color went well with his crimson hair and eyes, but you couldn’t see more of his face below the fur scarf he had wrapped up to the bridge of his nose.
His eyes were intense, knowing, and the sheer size of him amplified his frightening, but lovely, features.
“Pleasure to meet you, Y/N. I hope that our families can join their strengths soon.”
The Charlotte brothers left you breathless while the courtyard buzzed with the sounds of guests enjoying their drinks as they waited for dinner to start, celebrating the thought of you being claimed by one of these lucky suitors.
~~~
Twilight had crept into dusk, and you let yourself take a breath, knowing that the line must be coming to an end. Everyone in your mom’s book was already here, plus Iceburg, and there couldn’t be too many last minute…
Shanks?
The Emperor of the Sea stood framed by the growing night, dressed like a wicked horseman on the hunt. He stared at you as though he were surprised to find you there.
As though this fucking traitor hadn’t broken his promise as soon as Uncle Cedrick had shown up. The image of Shanks leaning close, smiling, and flirting with your uncle at the Cross Guild’s party felt like molten metal through your gut. Then he’d run away. You’d seen him, that stupid, red hair slipping through the crowd, fleeing the vow he’d made to you.
Liar. Liar. LIAR!
Somehow you stayed very deep inside yourself after Uncle’s voice made you flinch, even while this filthy leech touched your hand. You couldn’t hear what he was saying while he talked to his new best friend.
You’re just another bitch for my uncle’s money, aren’t you? Disgusting trash.
You almost laughed. Almost let it out.
Uncle Cedrick tapped your thigh with the arrow, and the visceral image of shoving it into one of Shanks' poisonous, “soft,” brown eyes felt intoxicating.
Pathetic. You’re just like all the rest. The Great Red Haired Shanks is no hero. Just another piece of shit that would betray his love for some berry.
Rage and nausea battled for more space within you, until your uncle shoved the arrow into your hand, and you remembered.
I can't let Uncle see how much I hate him.
A wave of desire and power burned through you, and you let yourself feel nothing but need while you offered Shanks that weapon instead of using it against him. It felt as though you were possessed, but you welcomed the chaos of mindless lust, relishing in it when those soft eyes went dark before he finally got the fuck away from you.
Did he just fucking thank me?
Uncle started to address the crowd, and you knew you should be listening. You tried to be here, to survive.
Traitor. Liar. Leech. Trash.
Breathing felt impossible. Your corset seemed tighter now, making the hidden locket dig into your skin, reminding you that Buggy was all alone.
There had never been a chance for you to have true love in your life. Not the cursed heiress of Sylvad’s. Not with your Uncle’s plans.
Your sweet, lovely clown deserved better.
But Shanks betrayed you both. He'd abandoned Buggy after one conversation with Cedrick Sylvad, just as weak and worthless as your first two "loves."
Uncle offered you his hand, and you stood without knowing what was next, but all that came next was applause. Happy, little vultures excited for their next meal.
“Did you hear me,” he hissed at you before shrugging for the crowd. “I think our white stag is feeling a bit skittish, but that's nothing a little chase can't fix. The first hunter to catch her claims the first date!”
Chase?
“Run along now, niece,” Uncle Cedrick smirked, nodding toward the trees. Night had officially fallen as he led you down that stone path, the eyes of all the hunters following your every step toward the darkened forest. “You’ve got a ten minute head start, Y/N. Better decide which arrow you'd rather be pieced with tonight.”
~~~🌲🌲🌲~~~
Likes, comments, and reblogs bring me much ✨dopamine✨ thank you!!
Author's Note: Yes, I dressed Shanks up like Jareth the Goblin King. No, I am not sorry 😅
Who do you think is going to catch our white stag? I'm having so much fun with this game! 🥰🏹 Check out the poll below, or you can just tell me what you think about our lineup! I've been going crazy over it, especially since I try to stick as close to canon possibility as I can for some weird reason, lol.
━ CLOUDED . . . ! 🦢
short fic
(sorry photopea isn't cooperating rn so I'll fix the header when it's working)
summary: Neteyam almost dies after getting shot, only with your help he'll survive.
a/n: sorry had to make a fic to this song because I love jhene Aiko 😩 This is a really short fic for my liking so ig it's more like a drabble? 1.1k words.
warnings: near death experience. angst to fluff. She/her pronouns. Reader is Navi
we do not exist in any other instant.
here in this dimension you and I are meant to be.
If you were to tell people about love, you'd tell them about you and Neteyam. Neteyam was your pillar, the only thing holding you up when you were at your lowest. Neteyam was there for you. He would always say "With every beat of my heart, my love grows even more for you" Oh how you adored Neteyam. You have chosen him and he has chosen you, but how you wished life was this simple.
"That was crazy cuz!" Lo'ak yelled and high fived you and Spider when you guys finally emerged from the water. You tried your best to stay afloat, all of your energy has been drained from fighting the sky people. Your eyes scanned around until you spotted red growing in the water, worried you looked down at your body trying to check if you've been hit anywhere. You were fine and the two seemed fine so that leaves Neteyam. You quickly looked at him breathing heavily, almost drowning from the waves, barely keeping his head up. "Oh no Neteyam" The other two boys heard you and quickly looked your way only to have the same shocked face as you had on.
"Shit!! Help him" Lo'ak was now yelling in fear rather than excitement. You called for your ilu which came quickly to your aid. You put Neteyam behind you, wrapping his arms around your waist as he slumped on your back breathing heavily into your ear. Your heart was pounding so roughly that you swore even Neteyam could feel it. "Watch his head!" You said out loud as you all carried his limp body on the small island which his dad was on. If someone would tell you that one day you'd be here watching your beloved mate die you'd probably laugh at their face. "What happened?" Jake asked panicking before lifting Neteyam's body up to check his back. There was an exit hole, Neteyam was bound to bleed out. "Shit!" Jake looked around frantically trying to find something to clog the wound before it was too late.
You sat beside Neteyam with his head in your lap, tears falling down your face almost landing on his. "Stay awake for me" You begged him. Neteyam's eyes were scrambling everywhere as he was also panicking, he was so young with dreams and ambitions. He didn't want to die. His eyes settled to look into yours. You cupped his face, softly caressing his cheek. "Tìyawn" He croaked slightly smiling, glad to have you with him at his final moments. "I'm here Teyam do not worry." "My love don't look at me like that, I don't want your last memory of me to be like this" More tears came out of your eyes after hearing his words.
You didn't want to lose hope as it was all you had at this moment. You heard a rip before Jake finally spoke again "Quick shove this in the wound and swim back to the village fast" He passed you a piece of cloth which you put on top of the wound. "I'm sorry this is gonna hurt" And with that you shoved it in, your heart shattering after hearing Neteyam's screams of pain. You picked up Neteyam slightly struggling due to his weight and the fact that he was taller than you.
Lo'ak came to your aid and the both of you put one of his arms around your shoulders before carefully placing him in your ilu. Lo'ak decided to stay back since the fight was not finished. After bidding him a farewell you quickly rode your ilu towards the village where the Tsahik is, surely she can help.
You arrived at the shore screaming for help which thank ewya the Tsahik Ronal heard. Ronal looked at Neteyam limped only standing up with your support. She took him inside her hut and commanded you to stay outside while she tried her best to keep Neteyam alive. A thousand questions flooded your head. ‘Will he be alright’ All you wanted to do was be within your Neteyam's arms again, laying on a tree branch or maybe staring up at the sky naming every star. You wished you didn't have to walk around in the future hearing strangers say “Ewya did it for a reason” or “He is in a better place now” If ewya had a reason, what could have it possibly have been? To teach you a lesson? No person should die this young.
Soon enough the flap to Ronal's healing hut opened revealing her. You rose to your feet hoping you were not about to hear a "I'm sorry" come out of her mouth. "He is alive thanks to you, just very weak." You trembled as relief washed over you after hearing the Tsahik's words. "You can come inside now child" She stepped to the side to make space for you "Thank you." You bowed to her and walked in to see Neteyam lying peacefully with bandages wrapped around him. "Wake up soon my love." You sat down next to him and picked up his hand, kissing it.
A month. A whole month has passed and still Neteyam was in his deep slumber. The war is over and the sky people have lost. A party was set to celebrate the great ordeal of winning against such demons. Normally you'd be dancing around and singing within the light of the bonfire but you couldn't. You couldn't have fun and laugh knowing that Neteyam was still in a coma. Often you'd find yourself sitting beside him having some sort of physical touch with him. In fact that was what you were doing right now.
You had fallen asleep next to him by accident, obviously tired after many sleepless nights. Before the war you'd always sleep within Neteyam's strong arms. “Neteyam the mighty cuddler” you'd joke. You were lost in sleep almost ignoring the fact that you felt someone's hand on the back of your head caressing it ever so softly. You would've kept your eyes closed before you heard a quiet. "Ma y/n." Your ears twitched trying to process if you were just dreaming or not.
After a few minutes you opened your eyes to see bright yellow ones staring at you. You pulled him into a hug carefully avoiding his wrapped up wounds. "You're finally awake" you sobbed as Neteyam rubbed his hand against your back trying to comfort you. "shh calm down, I will always come back for you even if I were to die we'd meet again in ewya's paradise."
spooky flirting — E.L.
warnings: underage drinking? (you and ethan are 19), cursing, scaryyyyy movies ;)
word count: ---
pronouns used: she/her, reader wears a dress
request: “Hey! I saw ur ethan landry headcannon ab e’s fav holiday being halloween and was wondering if u could do a fic where the reader and him bond over their love of halloween or something similar! xx ” ily sm for this idea nonnie! <33
might make a part 2, let me know if you guys want it!
Parties sucked. You always interrogated yourself on why you even went to them, you always ended up slightly drunk, with some random dudes number in your phone because you were too nice to decline, and a slight hangover. You could say it was because you were trying to have fun, meet new people, maybe hookup with someone. But if you were honest, you didn't know.
You sat on a couch, red solo cup in hand, slowly sipping whatever was in it, until a very blocky costume came into view. Your interest peaked, you looked over at him. It was a boy from your econ class Ethan... Laundry? Loundry? Something like that. He was wearing a knight costume, made fully out of cardboard. It made you smile.
Normally at frat parties it's just guys half naked. Like the one who walked in with Ethan, who was wearing a hat, ascot, and shorts.
“So Ethan, who're you gonna hit on tonight?” Chad hits Ethan's chest while he asks.
“W-what? No one!” He stutters out, turning red. How could Chad talk so freely about hitting on someone?
“C'mon man, you're a snack!” Chad yells over the music. “What about her? ” He nods over to you. Your costume, your hair, your face, everything about you made his eyes widen and his mouth drop into a small, open mouth smile.
“Woah...” His admiration of you made his cheeks flush further.
“I'll take that as a yes bro!” Chad smiles. His face falls when he sees the look of panic on Ethan's face.
That is until he realizes the cause of panic is simply because you're walking over. “Look! She wants you too dude. I'll leave you two alone!” he drags out the last word while walking away. Ethan is left alone and panicked, seeing how you haven't changed your course of direction.
“Hey, I like your costume! Did you make it?” You shout over the music. His eyes avoid yours, almost as if he's trying to convince himself that you're not there.
“Thanks!” He yells back. He looks so scared.
“Did you make it yourself?” You ask, moving behind a wall so you can hear his response.
“Yeah! I made it like 3 hours ago.” He laughs, his eyes crinkling as his smile gets wide. He looks so beautiful.
“Really? That's awesome!” You exclaim. You nod towards the door, hinting that you wanted to go outside.
He followed your lead, moving outside and sitting on the porch of the house. You could finally hear each other without having to shout. “But yeah, I made it. I really like Halloween so I knew I wanted to do something handmade, but my room mate, Chad, didn't give me much of a heads up... That's why this isn't the best looking.” He explains, looking at his lap and playing with his fingers.
“Hey, I still think it looks awesome! Like your helmet? That has amazing attention to detail dude. Who knew a guy could be good at economics and art.” You snicker under your breath. He looks over at you bewildered for knowing you two shared a class. Sure, you didn't know his last name, but you knew he was Ethan, he was cute, and he was good at econ.
“You know we have econ together?” He asks quietly, almost as if he was asking it to himself instead of you.
“Yeah, I know you're Ethan... Something... I know it is like Laundry but not quite!” You say, embarrassed you don't know his last name.
“Landry...” He blushes.
“Well hello, Ethan Landry. I'm [Y/n] [Y/L/N].” You stick out your hand to him, which he hesitantly grabs. His hands are warm. “So you like Halloween you said?” You ask, trying to make small talk.
“Yeah! I uh... Actually went through a small cosplay phase where I made my pieces myself...” He trailed off, letting go of your hand as he gets embarrassed. “Yeah, Halloween is my favorite.” He says simply, and sadly.
“Mine too!” You nudge him with your shoulder. “There's no reason to be embarrassed around me, by the way. I think it's cool you used to cosplay, I kinda always wanted to.” you smile sweetly at him.
“I don't like to think about it...” He shyly laughs.
“I really like your laugh...” You think aloud, catching both you and Ethan off guard. You clear your throat, trying to move on quickly, “So, what's your favorite Halloween candy?”
“I like chocolate, so basically everything is good for me.” He jokes for the second time tonight. He was starting to get more comfortable with you, and you were really happy about it.
There's a beat of silence where you're both just looking at each other smiling. He had such pretty eyes. And lips... And face.
He leans into your ear and whispers in your ear “So [Y/n], what's your favorite scary movie..?” Yup, he was definitely getting comfortable. His breath was hot against your ear and cheek, giving you goosebumps.
This was a huge step out of Ethan's comfort zone. He never flirted with anyone. Let alone a very attractive girl like you.
“I uh... I don't know, would you wanna watch a scary movie with me sometime?”
“W-What?” He looks at you, falling back into his flustered self.
“Yeah! You could come to my place, I have Netflix, Hulu, all of ‘em. No pressure though, if you don't want to that's ok!” You preface looking up at him, awaiting a response.
“Uh... Yeah. Ok.” He smiles small, playing with his fingers again.
“How about tomorrow?” You ask him while pulling out your phone.
“Yeah, that's good for me.”
“Ok, type in your number and I'll text you my address.” You explain while giving him your phone. He smiles to himself, cheeks turning a light pink when he notices that for the contact name you've typed in “Ethan :)” He was smiley face worthy.
After you've taken your phone back, you stand, ready to say goodbye and leave. He was a touch sad, realizing what was about to happen. He really liked talking to you. He didn't want it to be over.
“I'll text you when I get home! See ya tomorrow Ethan.” You call out, walking backwards away from the house.
“Bye!” He smiles. God you were beautiful.
He just stood there, looking at the spot you were sitting in a few moments ago.
“Yes dude! I knew you had it in you!” He hears a familiar voice shout out from behind him. Ethan's head drops fully, groaning.
“Chad, shut up!”
Being Nekoma’s Omega Manager:
Alpha Bokuto’s Crush
Alpha! Kotaro Bokuto x Omega! female manager (YN Kuroo) (she/her pronouns)
Warnings: SFW, mentions of mates but basically all fluff
A/N: ok I can explain… yeah I can’t but the idea of omega verse has been on my mind for a while and this is me exorcising that 🫠 also I’m not sure this would be classified as “traditional ABO omegaverse”. It’s my first time trying this genre so please don’t come for me 😅 I promise I’m willing to learn!
As if being an omega wasn’t hard enough, you were one of the few omegas that populated the halls of Nekoma
The school was comprised of mostly betas and alphas, including your big brother, Tetsuro Kuroo
Tetsuro was the head alpha and captain of Nekoma’s volleyball team
Tetsuro was big, strong, smart and a great leader
You were much the opposite of your brother, small, average, and rather shy
Nothing about you stood out particularly and you liked it that way
You weren’t popular but not exactly a wallflower either
You fit in with your own friends, who were compromised of mostly betas
Your smell was a pleasant, light floral- often making the atmosphere around you calm and serene
Tetsuro often described your scent like the wind blowing through a field of fresh flowers in the summer
Kenma, Tetsuro’s best friend and beta, told you that you smelled like perfume
“Umm thanks Kenma?” You’d say as he shrugged
“At least it’s a nice perfume smell!” Inuoka, another beta from the volleyball club added
While you got along well at Nekoma, you mostly hung out with your brother and the volleyball team
They had accepted you into their pack as an omega and someone they cared very much for
Yaku and Kai, both Betas, adored how small you were and how much you cared for the team
Yamamoto, another Alpha, watched you like a hawk and treated you like his own sister
You became so integrated into the team that eventually, you just naturally became their manager
“You’re always here Yn, might as well put you to work!” Coach Nekomata laughed
It worked out well for you because you were safe and you felt extremely needed within the pack
Your scent often helped calm down Kuroo and Yamamoto when they got irritated by Daishou and the Alpha’s of Nohebi
“Hey you got yourself a cute little omega I see,” Daishou said, “maybe you can let us borrow her for a while?”
Kuroo and Yamamoto both growled at the threat presented to them
Yaku and Kai told you to ignore them but your instincts told you other wise
You approached the boys, releasing a calming scent to calm them
“I’m sorry but I belong to Nekoma’s pack,” you say sweetly as you pull the two dumb alphas with you
While you loved your pack, you had yet to become attached to anyone in particular
Your inner omega hadn’t been stirred up by anyone at the school or at any of the teams practice matches
A lot of your fellow omegas were bonded to alpha’s already and sometimes, you felt lonely, desiring your own alpha
Your brother told you to be patient, that your day could come
You knew he wasn’t too excited for you to find a mate, wanting to keep you safe and protected within his pack for as long as he could
However, that would change when Nekoma’s training camps started
You were nervous but excited for everything new
Kuroo had told you that you would be the only Omega at the camp as the teams were comprised of Betas and Alphas, including the managers
You knew you’d get along with the managers no matter what, having met Karasuno manager before
When the teams arrived, you stood next to Kuroo, hiding slightly behind him
They had all been very pleasant to you, greeting you kindly
A large bus arrived, commotion stirring from it as soon as the doors opened
“Bokuto you need to chill out,” a voice sounded as you watched a very large man bounce off the bus
“Akaashi, you know how excited he gets when it comes to training camp,” one of the managers said as she followed the bouncy man
You watched as the black and silver haired man stood by the bus, the rest of the team piling off
You couldn’t see his face but his presence made the atmosphere shift around you
The wind was blowing a little strong, you hair flowing around your face as you pulled it from your mouth
Bokuto stopped, frozen as he smelt the air, his lungs expanding as he took in the beautiful scent
His body reacted before he had a chance to think, urging him to find the source of the pretty smell
He turned, his eyes lading directly on you as you stood slightly behind your brother
You were so tiny and meek, it drove him to the brink
He had never felt this way about another person, let alone an omega
He let the scent of you wash over him as his body carried him towards you
“Bokuto where the heck are you going?” Akaashi said as he made his way over, eyes fixed at on you
Kuroo watched as Bokuto approached, shifting in front of you as a low growl sounded from his throat
The growl from his friend and rival sent Bokuto into protective mode, his scent immediately changing as he bared his teeth
Akaashi came next to Kenma as they both watched , Kuroo standing his ground as Bokuto began to stare him down
The teams knew not to get involved when two alphas met toe to toe
Not only because a fight would surely ensue but also because they noted your presence close to the scene and didn’t want you to get hurt
“Omega,” Bokuto said, a low growl sounding from him as his piercing hazel eyes locked on yours, pupils dilated , “mine.”
You stiffened, as you took in Bokuto’s scent of warm, fresh cotton
You body began to heat up as you felt a soft whimper escape you lips
A whine that called to him, telling him that you found him just as attractive as he found you
What the heck were you doing? You body was acting on its own accord as the tall alpha loomed in front of you
You peered around your bother who was locked in a heated glare with Bokuto
You hadn’t seen Kuroo this angry in a while, not even Daishou’s annoying comments stirred this much emotion
You snapped from your haze, pumping calming pheromones into the air to defuse the tension between the two alphas
You could sense the tension dissipate, as your brother and Bokuto both calmed down, Bokuto’s eyes returning to normal
Bokuto looked from your brother to you, his face relaxing as he calmed down
“Who is this Kuroo?” He asked, still staring at you
“My sister and Nekoma’s manager now back off!” Kuroo growled
“Tetsuro its ok,” you said softly as your brothers head snapped to you
“I’m YN, it’s nice to meet you,” you said, a soft smile appearing on your face
“I’m Kōtarō Bokuto, it’s a pleasure,” he said, still staring at you
Kuroo was getting annoyed at how Bokuto was staring at you and what was with him calling you his earlier?
Kuroo could sense the change in Bokuto’s behavior and he didn’t like it one bit
He knew the alpha was interested in you, his scent reeking of possessiveness
Thankfully, Yaku and Kai came to the rescue
“Come on YN, we have to finish setting up the gym,” Yaku interrupted, sensing the tension forming and wanting to remove you from the situation
Yaku and Kai both knew things could escalate quickly and didn’t want to risk you getting hurt
“Oh of course!” You said, running to meet up with Yaku and waving to Bokuto
Bokuto watched as you left, your scent hitting him smack in the face once again
“Stay away from my sister Bokuto,” Kuroo growled as Bokuto smirked
Yeah there was no way in hell that was going to happen
As the training camp progressed, you felt not only the eyes of your team on you but the eyes of Bokuto as well
He watched you every spare second he could, his eyes finding you in every setting on the gym
“Looks like we won’t need much encourgement today,” Yukie said to Akaashi who nodded, watching Bokuto as he watched you
“I’ve never seen him like this before, do you really think-” Washio said as Akaashi nodded
“I’m not 100% for sure, but I think so,” he said, still watching as Bokuto’s eyes lit up at the sound of your laugh
He hated how close the betas of your pack were standing to you
Kenma and Inuka all but on top of you
His inner alpha yelled at him to stop them, halt them from getting any closer to what was his
He released a low growl, heard by Akaashi as he tried observed you
“Bokuto, we should get to practicing,” Akaashi said as Bokuto snarled
“Yeah, I need to hit something. I’m pissed off,” he barked
You stiffened, hearing the snarl permeat your ears from across the court
Bokuto was fuming as he slammed spike after spike into the other side of the court
“Hey Yn, can you fill up our water bottles please?” Kai asked as you chirped in surprise, Bokuto stopping when he heard you
“Oh yeah, I’m sorry, I was just zoned out! I’ll get right on it!” You said, grabbing the crates and hoisting them into your arms
“Hey can I help you with those?” Bokuto said, approaching you as you carried your teams water bottles to the fountain
“Oh no I’m ok! I don’t want to interrupt your practice!” You say, smiling back
“It’s ok, I’m on a break! And those look really heavy,” he says, extending his hand as you blush and hand him the bottles
You walk to the fountain and began filling up the bottles, Bokuto standing close by you
“Thanks so much Bokuto,” you say
“Please call me Kotaro,” he responds as you nod
“Kotaro it is then!” You giggle as Bokuto’s chest fills with pride at your name rolling from your mouth
“You are really pretty Yn and your scent is beautiful,” Bokuto bluntly stated as you felt your face heat up
“Umm thanks Ko, Kenma says it smells like perfume,” you say shyly
“Well it’s the best perfume I’ve ever smelt before,” he said as you felt your body heat, his scent becoming strong as you talked
You talk a little as you fill water bottles when suddenly the foul stench of anger fills the hallway
“BOKUTO!” Kuroo shouts as you chirp suddenly, eyes widening
Bokuto responds to you, his instinct to protect your from anyone and anything stronger than ever
He stands in front of you, arms crossed as you peer out from behind his hulking form.
“I thought I told you to leave my sister alone!” He barked as Bokuto growled back, his stench reeking of possessiveness
“I’m only helping her and stop being so protective of her Kuroo!” Bokuto snarled out the command as you stiffened
“She’s an unmarked omega Bokuto and she’s my baby sister so no, I will not back down!” Kuroo says as your eyes widen at the realization that both men are getting extremely angry
The smells mixed together and assaulted your nose as you tried your best to stay calm
“I would never hurt her Kuroo! I think you already know what I want,” Bokuto snarls as Kuroo’s eyes flame with anger
You try pumping your scent into the air as the men’s eyes dead lock on each other, eyes blown wide as you try desperately to calm them down
Unfortunately for you, it’s not working
“Whoa hey what’s going on here?” Yaku says, coming out into the hallway with Akaashi, Kenma and Kai
“Kuroo calm down,” Kai says as Kuroo’s vision snaps to Kai
“Back off! This is between Bokuto and me,” Kuroo shouted
Driven by your instincts, you do the only thing you can and begin scenting Bokuto
You had never scented anyone before, not even your own pack mates
Usually your calming scent filling the air was enough to chill the mood but your instincts drove you to do more
Your wrist rubs up and down his arms, as you see his form relax, his eyes shifting to you
Kuroo’s eyes turned towards you as he watched your eyes lock with Bokuto’s
He knew what this meant, and while he wasn’t happy about it, he could tell you wanted this
“Kotaro, it’s ok. Tetsuro is just looking out for me. He knows how dangerous it is being an unclaimed omega,” you say
“I want to be your Alpha Yn,” Bokuto says suddenly as your eyes widen
Akaashi palms his face knowing perfectly well that the customs of courting an Omega
“Bokuto, you are suppose to ask her with a gift you know,” Akaashi says, as you smile
“Oh right, uhh, hold on!” Bokuto says, ripping off his practice jersey as well as his T-shirt
“Here you go Yn,” he says, handing you his T-shirt
Even Kuroo is like “really YN? This is what you want?”
You accept the T-shirt, holding it up to your nose as the scent of Kotaro, the scent YOUR Alpha wafts through your nose
“I love it Kotaro and yes, I’d love to court you,” you say as he smiles
“Well HEY HEY HEY!” He screams, lifting you into the air and spinning you around
Kuroo stands there, his arms crossed as he just shakes his head
“You sure you want this Yn?” He asks as you nod
“Honestly this was the cutest courtship proposal I’ve ever seen,” Yaku says, wiping a tear from his eyes
“Akkaaaasshiiii we are going to have to make room for Yn on the bus!” Bokuto says as you smile, shaking your head
“Bokuto YN isn’t coming with you,” Kuroo notes
Bokuto’s eyes widen as he looks to you as he deflated, hair and all
“Sorry Kotaro, I can’t just transfer schools! But I can come visit you on weekends and we can FaceTime everyday until we can see each other?” You say as your alpha perks up and smiles
“Come on YN, I gotta show you all my skills while we are together! I need to prove that you have the bestest Alpha around!” Bokuto says, dragging you back to the gym as you giggled
“Well it finally happened,” Kenma said, walking back with Akaashi
Akaashi just smiled, knowing that, for a while at least, he wouldn’t have to worry about Bokuto’s emo modes for a while
Found What was Lost
Daryl Dixon • They/Them Pronouns • Peace is just very hard to come by in the end of the world. You thought the prison was going to be the next positive change. But of course things like that don’t last long, and it takes a toll. The next good thing will come…he will come • ANGST/SFW • TW: Scars / Canon Violence / Injuries / Anxiety Attacks
Requested by: Anon
Did you mean it?
That I liked yea? Yeah. Yeah I did
Good…Cuz I like you too Dixon
“We should’ve never trusted that Governor freak whatever his name is!”
“Complaining won’t save us now” Y/N states only for one of their group mates to grab them by the shoulders forcing them to look at him.
“You don’t fucking understand! The rest of us wanted our lives back in the community—and at the prison. But we’ll always be running and no one will ever save us!” The one snaps and it startled the group…and the walkers that were following their slow advancement to who knows where.
________
“None of the others gained an interest in helpin’” Rick laughs leading Y/N to the group going out for a run that morning. “Good thing there’s a few helpful Woodbury folk”
“Just want to do my part yknow”
“Appreciate it” He smiles patting them on the shoulder before whistling to gain Daryl’s attention away from the engine of one of the cars. “You’ve met Y/N right? Anyway, they asked where they could pitch in and given Michonne doing solos…figured you could use them” he smiles letting Y/N step into the now awkward silence with the archer.
“You’ve got your gear?”
“Yes” Y/N showed their axe strapped to their back under their backpack and the knife strapped to their belt.
“Yknow how to drive?”
“Yeah?” Y/N were getting confused by the questioning before keys were tossed to them.
“Sasha and Glenn will be riding with you, you follow me on my bike” and just like that. They were already doing their part.
It was the usual of going through a town and the neighborhoods around it. Sasha and Glenn paired up instantly making Daryl pair up with Y/N on the sweeps. Glenn’s reasoning, Daryl needs to get along with the Woodbury infusion. Sasha’s reasoning, more so the same but also didn’t want to deal with rookies.
“So did yea know about that Governor bitch?”
“No” Y/N states as they found some canned goods and started to fill their pack. “I didn’t know.”
Daryl watches them carefully even if this run was simple. Part of him didn’t trust them, and another thought they didn’t know what they were doing.
“Walkers!” Glenn calls out while taking care of a few as the two collected themselves and started making their way.
Y/N slipped their axe out and started to take care of the ones dangerously close to Glenn’s blindspot. Glenn felt himself being pushed forward after taking out the last walker in front of him, quickly turning to Y/N’s blank expression as he was about to question until the walker fell through the hole in the ceiling.
“Holy shit…” Glenn exclaims catching his breath. “Thanks”
“Of course” Y/N states plunging their axe into the walker’s skull looking up into the sun above. “Maybe we should dip…”
“I agree with Y/N. We don’t know how many more are gonna fall into the building. If any” Sasha agrees making her way toward the front of the building with Y/N following shortly. Leaving the men alone for a second.
“They ain’t bad”
“If they were, you were gonna have to tell Maggie about my demise” Glenn laughs illy before heading out with Daryl.
________
Y/N kept themselves still and out of plain sight of the herd passing through. They felt awful for the events that lead to such. Selfish. They didn’t mean to rile up anybody from their group by being honest and not wanting to hear their two cents about what’s now left in the past.
You’re a monster Y/N thought doing their best to calm their breathing to avoid altering any of their location. You angered them. That’s what lead them to yell. Attract the walkers. Get them killed. Why did you run? You’ve never run before
Once the growling was starting to distance itself from Y/N, making them pull themselves out of their hiding spot. Carefully looking around seeing the coast is clear.
But as they stepped back into the street to find the few bodies on the floor, after someone tried and failed to take care of them. Y/N followed the trail of fresh blood all the way to another house in the neighborhood the group ran themselves into. Quickly drawing their knife, they took care of the two walkers crowding a closed door before pushing it open to find the last person of their small group. She was bleeding bad from the bites but did her best to give herself a moment before the infection gets her. Yet the second she looked at Y/N, unscathed, she couldn’t help the painful laugh that escaped her.
“You’re selfish…” She winces as Y/N knelt in front of her assessing her injuries but right as they were going to get their knife, she suddenly grabbed their collar. “When was the last fucking time you ever thought of anybody but yourself?” And without receiving the answer that got stuck on the tip of their tongue, she gave out. Leaving Y/N to finish the job before she turned.
The next morning Y/N found themselves wandering through the neighborhood, eventually the town near by, and finally the surrounding forest. I never thought for myself Y/N frowns stopping by a creek to clean the walker blood off their hands. I did my best to survive…and lost what could’ve been the last of the prison They couldn’t stop the spiral that followed as they sat in the mud taking that in. They lost everything.
•
At least that’s what they think…
“You think we’ll find everybody at this sanctuary?” Carl questions the archer walking beside him as Rick and Michonne were taking the lead.
“Maybe.”
“You hoping for anybody specific? Carol?” Carl questions watching Daryl nod to the name so he continued listing off. Glenn, Tyreese, Sasha, Maggie…”Oh! Y/N?”
Daryl stopped moving when Carl said their name as he stopped along with him thinking he struck a nerve. Before Carl could even think to panic spill out apologizes, Daryl picked up the pace again.
“They better be”
________
“Why are you up?”
His words caught Y/N off guard as they stopped sharpening their axe to look at him. “Couldn’t sleep”
“Mm. Why are you out in the cold”
“Don’t really like hanging in my cell block. Or in a cell for that matter” Y/N frowns setting their axe down beside them as Daryl took the empty space on the bench to sit.
The two sat in silence enjoying the sound of crickets and the occasional owl along with some growls by the gates of the prison. Daryl took out a cigarette and before he could use his lighter, Y/N took a match from their pack and held up the small flame for him.
“You want one?”
“Nah. Just being helpful”
“Mm” Daryl takes the offer lighting his cigarette, watching Y/N pinch the match once he was done using it. “You can take one of the watch towers if yea want. Not a cell. Don’t gotta be around Woodbury folk. Even if—-“
“I hated that community, they wouldn’t let me leave. I’m not part of them. Those who believe that we can go back to normal with these sickos roamin’.” Y/N felt a hint of regret getting into it. “Sorry”
Daryl scoffs knowing exactly what they felt when sharing too much. “No need. Just honest wit me”
“Yeah” Y/N sighs picking themselves up about to head inside when Daryl tapped their arm. “What?”
“The watchtower closest to the gates’ openin’” Daryl rises dropping his cigarette. “Has a bed. Nobody is in it either. It’ll be warm enough” he states stepping on the cig before going back inside to his cellblock as Y/N took up on the suggestion.
________
It’s cold… Y/N held themselves while resting a moment. But the moment being interrupted by walkers approaching.
I’m exhausted
I’m starving
I’m…missing people…I need to find—- Y/N’s thoughts were interrupted by them catching their foot in a pothole and quickly pulling out not caring for the huge gash that follows.
Clean water
Stitches
Gauze
Limping…struggling. Tired. Blood loss Y/N frowns leaning against a car as they sat on the floor wrapping their wound with a part of their shirt.
Y/N didn’t move for the rest of that day, except for the time to lock themselves in a stalled car to avoid walkers coming toward the small of fresh blood. Or however they work. Y/N never cared. Or tried not to. Deep down they did. But that didn’t matter…nothing matters…
“You alright?”
Y/N snapped out of their thoughts checking their person only for a hand to rest on their thigh to center them. They look to Daryl in the drivers seat after parking in the town they were going to scavenge.
“Yea zoned out. Carol and Rick already stepped out”
“Sorry. Got lost in my head” Y/N frowns for just a second, feeling a bit of a smile return to their face when he carefully took their hand into his gently squeezing. “Just one of those days I guess”
“I getcha…Well, let’s hurry this up. Then we can chill up in the watch tower before Carol bothers us to eat somethin’” Daryl reassures with a smile before stepping out of the car.
Leaving Y/N there for a moment as they were about to step out when a knock on the window startled them.
The groan to escape their throat from the pain, the starvation, and the exhaustion startled the person on the other side of the glass as the words were muffled. Y/N didn’t bother to fight the strangers as they were surprisingly careful when taking them out of the car.
•
“So…they’re dead then”
“Don’t think that way Daryl. They’re somewhere. You’ll reunite with them one day” Carol reassures her friend watching the sadness and exhaustion get to him. “Come on. You’ve lost enough. We just gotta think positive toward Y/N. But now, go take a shower before I hose you down” she scoffs making Daryl roll his eyes in response.
________
Y/N jolted awake to Daryl’s panicked expression above them as they carefully held his face brushing away the tears that threatened and spilled.
“You okay?”
“Nah. You were sick, almost died, and y-you stopped breathing for a sec and it just. Scared me”
“Mm” Y/N slowly wraps their arms around his neck bringing him down to lay on top of them and be held in their embrace for a while. Making him relax eventually. “I’m not going anywhere, D”
________
I’m still standing
Y/N suddenly jolts awake. In a bed. In a building. In clean clothes. Who took off my clothes? They thought pulling the blanket off to find their left ankle stitched and wrapped. Someone took care of me…
The door opened which brought Y/N to quickly stand up and move away from the door to reveal two men stepping in. Both radiating non-threatening. But Y/N wasn’t taking their chances anymore given who they encounters who knows how long ago now.
“We aren’t armed. You can relax a bit.” He spoke softly which reassured Y/N to do indeed relax. But as he stepped closer they pressed up against the wall. “Sorry…sorry. My men found you passed out in a car with an injury and given you weren’t turned, they brought you back and we patched you up”
“You’ve been out for a few days, dude” The other one really really gave teddy bear vibes and radiated overwhelming happiness even if later they find out he can take on a bear if he could.
“Where…where am I?”
“This place is called the kingdom, and I’m King Ezekiel. But Ezekiel is perfectly fine” Ezekiel smiles. “You’ll be safe here and once you’re ready, I’d be more than happy to show you around”
It didn’t take Y/N until the next day to even leave the building they were in. But Ezekiel and his right hand Jerry were patient and showed them around the entirety of the kingdom.
Leading to a moment where Y/N received their belongings, but also a room in the kingdom.
“You’re skeptical about my offer”
Man I really hate being called out Y/N groans sitting on the steps to the theater as Ezekiel sits beside them. “Is my expression just obvious?”
“More so your body language. You’re tense because you’re in a new environment and part of you is afraid given how you reacted to us greeting you when you first woke. But now you’re questioning”
“How does my—-“
“That, I’m simply guessing. You’re questioning my offer of having you live here. Be helpful to the community but also find peace for yourself. You’re also…missing something, and we’ll help you find that when you trust us”
“Ezekiel…I’d like to stay, but I’m afraid you won’t be able to find what I’ve lost.”
“And why is that?”
Because it’s been months
And nothing
“Y/N!” Jerry yells at them happily as Y/N jumps off the horse they were on after going on a quick perimeter check. “There’s something you gotta see”
Y/N gently tugs on the lead to get the horse to follow them to a post to tie them temporarily at before picking up the step to follow Jerry to the theater.
It’s been months since Y/N first arrived at the Kingdom and only a few weeks since they have become a guard and front runner for the place. They did their part and still felt as if they needed to repay Ezekiel for everything he’s done for them, but he still wants to help them find what they are missing.
And entering the theater filled a bit of the pit in their chest.
“Y/N?” Carol questions before relaxing and bracing for Y/N’s impact when they wrapped themselves around her. “Y/N oh my god…oh my god” she couldn’t help the tears, nor did Y/N as they latched onto Carol like they were going to collapse in on themselves if they let go.
“How long have you been here?”
“A few months…” Y/N walks beside Carol after talking with Ezekiel and Morgan. Giving the two time to be alone.
“Do you trust this place?”
“I only trust Ezekiel and Jerry…I wouldn’t actively go on a witch hunt to search for this place’s flaws but I’m also not trying to be social around here…” Y/N frowns. “Hell I’m a guard now and I have to go on runs with others but I don’t actively go out after a successful run and celebrate like it’s the old world…”
“I get that Carol sighs locking her arm with Y/N’s keeping them close. “I just. I want…a bit of isolation and to be left alone from the overwhelming reality just for a moment.”
“Then you should. There’s uh. A house near by or well a bit away but it’s enough and you can have your time alone…until you’re ready” Y/N reassures that it’s okay sometimes for that isolation but part of Carol couldn’t leave them without reassuring that thought in the back of their mind.
“I hope he comes here, or you go to Alexandria. He can’t live without you either”
But that moment didn’t come until much later…under different circumstances.
“He can stay here. Where he’ll be safe” Ezekiel reassures Rick in regards to Daryl. “But if you’ll wait a moment” he states on his leave to retrieve something, more so someone.
“We gotta get them to fight with us, think you can try and sway them?”
“Just cuz I’ve got a room here?”
“Well isn’t it obvious? But hell I wouldn’t blame yea if you just need a minute. Given what happened” Rick couldn’t imagine what the Saviors did to Daryl, since he didn’t share every last detail. Just enough to understand he’ll need time for certain things.
“I’ll do what I can” Daryl frowns following the others out.
________
“You were talkin’ in your sleep” Dwight knelt to Daryl’s level in his curled up state. “Something about somebody. You holding on for a special someone?”
Daryl wasn’t going to tell him anything, thinking Dwight will go back to Negan and tell him more mental bullets to fire at him.
“Keep thinking about whoever that is” Dwight stands up and stepped out of the cell. “Someone to keep fighting for”
________
“Daryl! I’ve assigned somebody to show you around” Ezekiel caught up with the archer at the gates of the Kingdom after he watched his group head out.
“I don’t need no babysitter”
“Don’t think of this as a babysitter. Think of this as someone you’ve been missing for some time” Ezekiel smiles moving himself out of Daryl’s way so he could get a good look at the guard approaching.
“Holy shit”
“Fuck off” The archer didn’t believe it. Didn’t believe Y/N was standing before him. “Y/N…”
Y/N couldn’t help it. They really couldn’t help it. Not even thinking, Y/N ran to Daryl letting him grasp onto them. The two latches onto one another, not budging, not saying a word, and taking it in.
“I told you I would help you find your missing piece” Ezekiel continues to smile leaving the two alone in the middle of the street.
They stayed like that for what felt like hours. Y/N hasn’t stopped crying since they latched onto Daryl and he hide his face in the crook of their neck to avoid anybody who past by seeing him cry.
“I thought I lost you…”
“Gonna take a whole ass army to keep me from finding yea”
giving tighnari an aphrodisiac while you’re hanging out so he’ll sleep with you cause you have a bit of a huge crush on him, but you severely miscalculate how long it’ll last for so you end up stuck underneath him, pussy aching from his neverending thrusts and his cum flowing out, telling you how much he’s in love with you and your cunt and hoping that this never ends. mission accomplished?
ok sorry i have been gone so long. i actually just finished a monster of a chem report and i am in the mood to write so lets do this >:)
this turned out really long my god- i got really into meaningless plot and dialogue i am so sorry, there's like 1 minute of smut.
also, because i like to keep it consensual, we are gonna say tighnari was already dtf and he knew exactly what those petals do 😏
warnings: rough-dom!tighnari and sub!fem anatomy/pronouns reader
aphrodisiac usage (reader didn't know it was an aphrodisiac she gave tighnari), overstimulation, a lot of cum (unsafe sex 👎), biting, mating press, friends to lovers 🥵🥵, fingering/oral, also mentions of venti because he is your mondstat friend but he is wild
"and you're sure this is legit?" you asked, brows furrowing as you observed the petals in your palm.
"of course i'm sure, are you seriously doubting a professional?" venti grinned as you pursed your lips. "guaranteed to make even the most stoic swoon." venti pressed his hand to his forehead dramatically.
"alright, alright, i trust you." you carefully pocket the preserved blooms as venti eagerly bounces on his heels. you sigh deeply. "okay, one bottle on me, but that's it- diluc charges an arm and a leg these days."
it had been about a week since that conversation on your last day in mondstat. you originally went for research purposes and catching up with some old friends. sure, you expected a few souvenirs but not 'love blooms.'
you inspected the petals on your desk, trying desperately to focus on your reports.
when you told venti about your little (massive) crush on tighnari, venti was delighted to help you in the most venti way possible. by offering you flowers that make your crush fall in love with you.
because what other advice would that bard give?
you had your doubts, but part of you was intrigued to find out if they were real. you didn't want to test the tea on just anyone in case these blooms really did have some magic in them. or maybe you were just overthinking this. what if-
a soft knock on the wood of your door stirred you from your thoughts as you jumped up from your desk, knocking some of your papers off the surface.
"come in!" you call out, seeing tighnari peek his head around the corner of the wall. "tighnari! what are you doing here?"
tighnari greeted you with a small wave, carrying a basket in his arms. "i apologize for intruding so late, i originally meant to drop this off earlier. but you were asleep when i came by, and i didn't want to disturb you." tighnari smiled sheepishly, and you missed the soft blush dusting his cheeks in the low light from your lamp.
"oh, that's fine! it's great, no worries." you laughed awkwardly. "so, what's in there?" you pointed at the basket as he carefully opened the top.
"collei made it for you. she was feeling good this week, said it was the cooler weather and fresh air. she collected some herbs and fungi, and i think some tea leaves she received from a friend visiting liyue." tighnari mumbled, sifting through the contents.
"tell her i said thank you-"
"you could always come over and tell her yourself, you know. being a messenger is hard work for a forest ranger." tighnari teased.
you smiled at him fondly, shaking your head. it wasn't that you didn't want to visit, on the contrary. you were just terrified of embarrassing yourself in front of tighnari and collei.
"well, i am free tomorrow afternoon, if that's an okay time?"
"sure, i would check with collei first, but i'm positive she's already asleep." he hummed, ears flicking atop his head.
you let the quiet linger for a moment before you cleared your throat. "since you came all this way, would you like to stay for some tea?" you suddenly panicked, reminding yourself it was almost dark out, and tighnari would surely want to go back home as soon as possible. "well, i mean, it's late, so that was a stupid thing for me to suggest. sorry."
"actually, if you don't mind having me, i would love to share some tea. i didn't bring anything to drink on the trek here, and i am embarrassed to admit i'm a bit parched." tighnari's tail curled up as you nodded.
"sure! have a seat, anywhere you like- just maybe not on the chair with all my stuff on it, sorry for the mess." you awkwardly shuffled towards the kitchen, pulling the kettle out to start boiling a pot of water.
and then, the wicked little voice of venti popped into your mind.
now would be the perfect time to test out those petals.
you blinked twice, eyes shifting over to your desk where the petals sat. you smacked your cheeks, shaking your head.
no, that would be a bad idea. you don't even know if they're legit. and what if they're actually poison. can you ever really trust venti's judgement with love potion flowers?
you took a deep breath, instead focusing on rummaging through your cabinet, allowing tighnari to slink around your room unnoticed.
he smiled softly as he gazed at your handwriting. it slowly got sloppier as time went on, hand cramping from writing page upon page.
the ink bottle he had purchased for you from inazuma sat on your desk, almost empty. he made a mental note to purchase more the next time he had the chance.
you had lined up your favorite pens and quills on the desk, your notebooks at the side, scratches and rips on the cloth covers, and-
petals?
tighnari arched an eyebrow, glancing over to where you were in the kitchen, busy with digging for decent tea leaves.
he carefully picked the package up, bringing it up towards his face to waft the scent into his nose.
familiar and sweet. the saccharine petals had an aroma he had smelled before, though not from any plants in sumeru. it seemed familiar, like something from mondstat. perhaps he had read about it. something about legends.
tighnari frowned, deep in thought, tail bristling when he finally remembered. of course, mondstat tales of lovers. these flowers brought good luck for couples and those attempting to court their desired partners.
but why would you have them unless-
unless you were trying to court someone? tighnari frowned deeper at that thought.
his ears perked up as he heard you close the cabinets, walking into the room as he quickly situated himself on a chair, neatly folding his tail across his lap.
"sorry it took so long!" you smiled awkwardly. "it's brewing now, it'll just be a few minutes."
"take your time, don't stress yourself out over tea." tighnari shook his head, mentally cooing at your adorable expression when you scratched the back of your neck.
you glanced over at the desk, eyes focused on the petals as you thought of a way to get them without tighnari noticing.
of course, the minute you glanced away, he knew.
and that must mean-
you intended to use them on him? oh, tighnari wished he could say something.
but oh, was he intrigued to see where this path would lead...
and so, he conveniently stood up, excusing himself to the restroom and allowing you to rush and add the petals to the tea. he could hear you clumsily dumping them into his cup, crushing them up.
it was almost endearing in a way to think you wanted to use a love potion on him. how could you not realize you had tighnari wrapped around your finger.
if you had asked tighnari sweetly enough to visit mondstat with you, he would have. if you asked tighnari for another inazuman ink bottle, you'd have one by the next morning. if you asked tighnari to carry you back to his home to visit with collei, he would be more than happy to find a way to do so.
he waited just long enough for you to figure out the petal situation before walking out, adjusting his hair and tail. "oh, is the tea ready?"
"yes, you have perfect timing as always it seems." you laughed as tighnari sat down across from you.
you lifted the kettle, carefully pouring two cups of tea, setting the kettle down and moving his cup to his side. "there we go. i hope you like it- when i was in mondstat i got some flowers for the tea. my friend says they're supposed to be very sweet, and they make tea smooth." you lied through your teeth, praying to the archons that this love spell somehow did work.
you watched as tighnari lifted the cup to his lips, blowing on the liquid before tasting some. it was indeed sweet, unlike most of the bitter brews he makes. "it's very good. a unique sugary taste. maybe i'll have to visit mondstat myself." tighnari hummed, taking larger sips of the tea and watching as your eyes grew comically wide.
"wow, i'm glad you like it so much!" you raised your cup to your lips, feigning a sip as tighnari pretended not to notice. you brushed the hair away from your face, feeling hot as tighnari leaned in closer towards you.
your lips parted, though no words came out as tighnari's nose touched yours. "can i ask you something?"
"anything." you breathed out.
"did you really feel the need to give me a love potion? isn't it obvious i already like you?"
your mouth dropped as you scrambled backwards. "what- i, no, no i didn't- well...it's not what you think, i'm so sorry-"
"i'm not." tighnari shrugged, downing the cup. "i was waiting for you to realize how much i care for you. it isn't easy coming all the way here, you know. especially when it's dark. it isn't easy getting inazuman commodities or fancy sweaters from snezhnaya, you know."
tighnari's words made your face feel hot as you pressed your palms to your cheeks. "why didn't you just say something before?"
"because you're cute when you're flustered." tighnari admitted, surprised at his own boldness. maybe those petals really were affecting him differently due to his anatomy?
you let out a gasp, watching tighnari slowly approach you, crawling closer, almost like a predator stalking his prey.
"tighnari-" you called out to him, feeling him lean over you. his body was warm, radiating heat as you suddenly shook out of your stupor. "tighnari, you feel really hot- i mean warm! you must be sick or something, oh archons, what if i poisoned you. stupid, stupid, i knew i shouldn't have trusted venti." you tried to pull tighnari up, yet he wouldn't budge, instead firmly gripping your chin and tilting your head to look him in the eyes.
"i can tell that love potion isn't doing what you thought it would hm?" tighnari dragged his thumb across your lip, feeling you lean closer to him. "i planned this whole trip to confess to you, honestly. but i think this is a lot more exciting, don't you?"
"tighnari, i've never seen you like this before." you admitted, eyes starry as you gazed up at him. your thighs rubbed against eachother slightly as tighnari suddenly closed his eyes and groaned.
"fuck, i can smell your arousal." you watched as tighnari's pants slowly formed a tent, ears pressed back to his head.
his eyes opened, looking slightly different than before. he almost seemed feral in a way as he suddenly began tearing off your clothes, claws ripping through fabric as you clung onto his shoulders.
he pressed feverish kisses into your skin, pulling your core down against his lap and rutting against you while stripping your form.
how you ended up on your back, knees pressed to your chest was anyone's guess.
you had already come once from him fingering you, licking at your clit and rubbing against your g-spot in the most perfect way, sending you over the edge quickly.
now, he had you underneath him, cock pushing in and out of you at such a rapid pace it had your head spinning. tighnari was mumbling under his breath, almost growling as he fucked into you harshly, heavy balls slapping against your skin.
you cried out for him, tightening as he came deep inside of you. it was thick, dripping out of your hole as you tried to take shallow breaths, gasping as he suddenly started moving again. "what-"
"oh, someone miscalculated their dosage, hm?" tighnari laughed, pressing down harder on the backs of your thighs and fucking you with fervor, grinding into your sweet spot until he had you coming around his cock, trembling beneath him.
he gave you barely any time to recover, playing with your clit and fucking you faster as you sobbed for tighnari, body teetering between extreme pleasure but overstimulation.
you cried out his name, feeling his teeth press along the column of your neck. you arched, allowing him full access to the skin as he hummed his approval, biting down into your skin with the intent of leaving his mark.
you felt him collect the mix of your cum leaking around his dick before coming back to play with your clit, feeling your body shake as he threw you into another orgasm that sent him into his own, filling you up again. his cum leaked out from your hole, though he tried to use his dick to plug it up inside you.
tighnari growled, discontented with the way his cum flowed out of you. "it has to stay in there-" he huffed, beginning to fuck you again as you whined.
"tighnari, wait! slow down- i-"
tighnari silenced you by pressing a deep kiss onto your lips. "it's okay, dear. it's alright. you can take it, i know you can. be a good girl." he smiled, pressing deeper into you, gripping your body and leaving indents from his nails as he grinned wickedly. "good girl."
You guys look so cute together
Pairing: Gerard Way x Reader.
Pronouns: they/them.
Requested by: No one, I got inspired by (but didn’t fully follow) a prompt by @firstclassthot (Thank you!)
Summary: A random drunk girl at a bar says that Gerard and the reader looks like a cute couple. Which they are not.
A/n: This is just a silly little thing. Hope you like it though. I guess I also should say that the fic mentions alcohol and smoking.
”Oh. My. God! You guys look so cute together!” a drunk girl in a very pink dress who is just leaving exclaims when she meets you and Gerard in the doorway to the bar you’re meeting the rest of the band at. You can feel your face heat up. You and Gerard are very much not together, just friends. Has always been just friends. You’ve thought about before. Who are you trying to fool? You’ve thought about it a lot. ”Oh, we’re not-” Gerard pipes up. The girl interrupts them. She takes both your hands. ”Well, you absolutely should” she says with a big smile. ”Toodles!” she then exclaims happily and leaves you. You look to Gerard with a smile. ”I adore drunk girls” you say with a laugh. Your goal is to make a joke of the whole thing, and to not expose your true feelings for Gerard, or that their ”oh, we’re not” has hit you like a sledgehammer to the heart. They just smile at you and gesture for you to enter the bar.
You walk up to where the bartender is standing. They order a beer and look to you for your order ”Oh, a (y/drink) for me, please” you say with a smile to the bartender. She nods and hands you both your drinks soon enough. Gerard pays for the both of you, which isn’t what usually happens. You thank them before looking around the crowded room to find the rest of the band. You’re getting together to plan for a gig on Friday. When you stand on your tiptoes you can actually spot the band at the other end of the room in a booth towards the back. Without thinking you grab Gerards arm to lead them over to the others.
”Gerard! (y/n)! You made it!” Mikey exclaims with a smile. You greet your other band mates and sit down on two stools at the short end of the table. You’re very close together, you soon realize. Your hand is brushing against Gerards as you pick your drink up, and your legs have been touching the whole time. They don’t move away and in the corner of your eye, you think that you see a smile playing on their beautiful lips. Then they put their arm around your shoulder. You’re surprised, but accept it and raise your glass. ”To new gigs!” you say cheerily and the lot of you clank your glasses together. Frank goes to the bar to ask for a pen and piece of paper to write the setlist on, since none of you brought the needed materials. He returns with that, and a tray of shots. You grab a shot each, and you down yours quickly, trying your best to calm your nerves. You’re just to reach for one more when you see the drunk girl from earlier outside the window you’re sitting at. She looks up and sees you as well. Quickly she grabs her friends arm and points right at you and Gerard. ”Aren’t they just the sweetest couple” she almost yells to her equally drunk friend. You look at Gerard to see their reaction, and you almost can’t believe your eyes when you see that they’re blushing. You can’t help to wonder what they’re thinking. Are they embarrassed to be thought of like your partner? Or is it something else. You wave to the girl opposite you, but she’s already dancing away with her friend.
Gerard clears their troath. ”So, the setlist, huh?” they say with an awkward smile. You grab another shot, down it quickly and smile back at him. ”Let’s do it!” you say with a smile. All of you huddle together over the piece of paper and decide on the songs, and then the order of them. When you’re done Ray raises his glass. ”Well done guys” he says with a slightly drunken smile. Ray and you both has been drinking the most and you clink your glass against his. ”What should we wear?” Mikey then asks your little crew. Gerard scratches their head. ”All black?” they propose. The lot of you nods. ”You look so beautiful in black, (y/n)” Gerard says with a slight smile, looking over at you. It confuses you. What are they getting at? ”Well, who doesn’t?” you ask them. ”You’re special though, (y/n)” they say, slurring slightly and almost blushing again. They shake their head, lightly, as if that is going to get rid of the rosy colour on their cheeks. You look at them. They haven’t been drinking as much as you, but they look drunker.
Mikey stands up. ”I’m going for a smoke real quick, does anyone wanna come along?” he asks, looking at the crew. ”Sure, I could go for one” you say with a smile. ”No, (y/n), don’t leave me all alone” Gerard says with a fake frown. You smile and laugh at them but decide that maybe some fresh air will do you good. You follow Mikey outside. Once outside, you grab a Lucky Strike from the pack in your pocket. Mikey has his own. You both light up and lean against a wall. ”So, (y/n), what’s going on between you and Gerard?” Mikey asks. You look up, shocked. ”Oh, don’t look at me like that (y/n), everyone knows Gerard has been into you forever” he says. ”Well, everyone but me, that is” you say, shocked with what you’re hearing. ”Well, they’ve always been kind of shy around you, but I know that they adore you. I was so chocked at what happened back inside. Did something happen between you?” he asks. ”Well, yes, or no, I don’t know. Some drunk girl said we looked like a cute couple. But that’s it, I swear” you say with a laugh, then taking a drag of your cigarette. ”Well, maybe that’s all they needed to hear” Mikey says with a smile. He puts out his cigarette just as Gerard steps outside. ”Well, I’m heading back inside, good luck with them” Mikey says with a smile.
Gerard walks up to you with a beer in hand. ”Hey” they say with a slightly drunken smile before they search their pocket for their pack of cigarettes. They frown, not finding them. You extend your pack to them and they pick a cigarette out of it. ”Thanks” they say while putting the cigarette between their lips. They lean over and you light the cigarette for them. They take a drag and exhales. You watch the smoke curl beautifully around their face. It’s a breath taking view, you think as Gerard closes their eyes to enjoy the nicotine. They take a sip of their beer and looks at you. ”What do you think, (y/n)?” they ask, looking right at you. ”About what?” you ask, squinting your eyes in confusion. ”Would we look cute together?” they ask, looking down towards the ground. You couldn’t really believe what you’re hearing. You smile and look at them. ”Well, what do you think?” you ask Gerard with a nervous smile, glancing at them. ”Well, I think you’re the most beautiful person in the world (y/n), and I would be lucky to be percieved as a couple with you” they say, actually looking up at you towards the end of their sentence. You look each other in the eyes. Their eyes are beautiful, and twinkling in the dark night. ”Can I kiss you (y/n)?” they ask, shyly. You don’t answer. Instead you close the space between you, so that your lips meet. Their lips are soft and taste like smoke and watermelon from the shots from earlier. You feel like you’re in heaven. They wrap their arms around your waist and hold you close, like they’re afraid you’re going to leave. As you break apart you can hear the others cheer trough the window, and you realize you’re standing just where the drunk girls were standing before, and that the rest of your band mates have had a clear view of the whole thing. Gerard laughs, holds you close and kisses you again.
I really hope you enjoyed whatever this was. If you want to send me a request, please do! I’m so gosh darn uninspired.
a matter of time (tasm! peter parker) - 5/5
five: when we collide (a.k.a the epilogue)
summary: summary: peter parker has barely gotten over losing you and getting dragged into another universe where you’re still alive and kicking isn’t about to help the case. thanks to an ultimatum from stephen strange, peter has just a matter of days to make you realise who he is and what you had, or he faces losing you all over again. he better get to work. (playlist + masterlist) - this uses she/her pronouns
warnings; mentions of loss/death, swearing, no way home spoilers
AHHH i can't believe this series has come to an end. it has been an absolute pleasure to write and i am so thankful for everyone who has read it. i hope this ending is the one you hoped for!!
- jazz xx
In Peter Parker’s mind, you were forever young.
That stupid denim jacket of yours; the faint smell of stolen cigarettes and your mum’s Chanel, splayed all over your baggy band shirts and clinging onto every last morsel of his bedsheets and existence. He’d spent the better part of the last three years trying to curate it in his head, all so that he wouldn’t forget. And even when years passed and the sound of your laugh and scent of your shampoo began to fade, he never forgot your face. He never forgot your bright eyes or wild hair or the glint in your irises every time you made a verbal attack on some unsuspecting soul. Peter had spent years trying to convince himself not to think about what you would look like now – it would hurt too much. The things that could have been.
Little did he know, that slightly older image of you was even more beautiful than he could have imagined. You didn’t look that different, a little wiser and more tired maybe, but completely familiar as you sat across from him in the coffee shop. Your hands were resting on a latte, eyes watching the window as strangers passed through Lexington Avenue. You always met here, everyday on your lunch break - the same way you had almost every day since Stephen Strange had sent you back to your original universe two years ago.
“Pete, are you staring at me again?” your eyes flickered back to him with a smile.
“I’m people watching,” he shot back.
“No, I’m people watching. You’re…me watching,” you corrected him. “What are you thinking about?”
“It’s two years tomorrow that you came back,” Peter replied. “But it kinda feels like you were never gone.”
You smiled. “Yeah, I know. It feels like a pipedream, huh?”
For him, it had been a nightmare. Five years of sitting and mourning, going over that godforsaken night in his head and wondering on a cycle about all the things he could have done to save you. It had eaten him alive; digested his heart and spat it out, half working. He’d slept-walked through all those days, half a man with half a heart.
Peter had never believed in soul-mates- he was a stickler for the idea that love was nothing more than a chemical reaction. Maybe in the same way that nuclear weapons were just a chemical reaction.
“Do you ever miss that world?” he asked. “Strange’s world?”
You shook your head. “Barely. My life there wasn’t really mine and the versions of the people I loved there weren’t really them. I s’pose I miss annoying Strange sometimes but pissing off a wizard isn’t worth giving up a single thing I have here.”
You’d made more of a life for yourself here now – the first few weeks had been hard, though. Strange could do a lot of things but he couldn’t undo the fact that everyone that you had died. With a little help from Peter and some of his shadier contacts, you’d managed to craft an elaborate story about faking your own death because of a weird discovery you’d made at work. And with Kurt Connors and Maxwell Dillon returning too all of a sudden, it was believable. Just about.
You were a high-level scientist at Oscorp now; there had been a few close calls with your colleagues almost stumbling about the multiverse, but you’d managed to divert their attention. You were sitting on secrets that nobody else - aside from Peter, of course - knew about.
“C’mon,” you stood up, sticking your hand out towards your boyfriend. “I gotta get back to the office. Walk with me?”
“Of course,” Peter smiled.
He wrapped an arm around your waist and pulled you into his side, leading you out of the coffee shop and into the busy street. New York was exactly the same as it had been in Strange’s universe, just minus the Avengers - that had its perks and its downfalls. Perks, because it meant you didn’t have to worry about your car being destroyed in an incident every time you parked it in the city (insurance was a bitch). Downfalls, because it meant there was so much you didn’t know. The Avengers had discovered every threat and protected the world from it, but you didn’t know if this world was prone to the same ones. Aliens, monsters, robots…all pretty normal things for that world but not so much for your one.
So good so far though.
–
Your apartment was dark when you got in later that night.
It was a nice little place; a converted brownstone on the Queens/Brooklyn border, but still close enough to the tunnel and bridge to get to work in Manhattan. Naturally, it cost a small fortune, but your job paid well and Peter’s connections to a certain webbed hero definitely helped his photography career as well. It was crammed full of photos; ones of you and Pete on holiday; ones of your family; ones of you in high-school, wide-eyed and grinning at prom. You’d practically traveled the entire world since you’d gotten back, all trying to make up for lost time.
You crept inside quietly, shutting the door behind you. The living room light was off, save for the television; an old episode of Seinfeld was playing in the background. You couldn’t help but smile at that - it had always been Peter’s favorite show. Speaking of the devil, he was passed out on the couch, a book splayed open on his chest and a half-eaten pizza beside him.
“Evening, handsome,” he sleepily mumbled. “I missed you.”
“It’s literally been five hours,” you chuckled; you ran a hand through his hair and kicked off your heels, letting him pull you into his chest and wrap his arms around your waist.
“Better than five years,” Peter shot back.
You buried your head in his chest, letting out a small mmm of agreement. “I can’t argue with that.”
“You smell like hydrochloric acid.”
“Yeah, sorry,” you groaned. “I’ll go wash up. Don’t move.”
“I ain’t going anywhere.”
Standing back up, you grabbed your shoes and headed through to the bedroom. After a long day, the only thing better than your own hoodies and sweats was Peter’s hoodies and sweats - and because he was a man in the twenty-first century, he seemed to own about a thousand of them.
You tossed your own clothes into the wash and pulled open the wardrobe, rifling around the top shelf for his Midtown graduation hoodie. Blindly feeling around, you grabbed the material of the blue jumper and pulled it; it came crashing down, hitting the floor with a hard thud.
“What the…” you frowned, grabbing it from the floor. A small box came tumbling out. A ring box.
It had fallen open on impact, revealing a red and blue ring. It wasn’t anything fancy, but it was beautiful; there were tiny little spiders engraved into the band. No guesses on what it’s purpose was.
“Hey, have you seen my charger-” Peter entered the room, brown eyes widening when he saw what you were holding. His hair was sticking up everywhere and he had pizza down his front. Sexy.
“I didn’t mean to find it!” you quickly said. “I was just looking for your jumper and…fucking hell, Parker. You are really bad at hiding things.”
He swallowed, nodding slowly. “I really am.”
“I can put it back and pretend I never saw it-”
“- no, I’m glad you did,” Peter took a step towards you, placing his hands on your hip. “I’m not very good at finding the right moment to propose.”
“When did you buy it?” you asked.
“About a week before you died,” he confessed. “I held onto it for a really long time and then you came back and…I guess I forgot about it.”
“It’s beautiful,” you murmured. “I love it.”
“Would you have said yes?” Peter asked. “I know we were young but-”
“- of course I would have!” you cut him off. “I’d say it then and I’d say it now.”
“You would?”
“Yes!”
“So,” he gently tugged the ring from your hands. “My back kills right now, so I can’t get on one knee but…will you wear my ring?”
“I would love to,” you gave him a watery smile, trying not to burst into tears and absolutely destroy the moment. You almost came close when it slid onto your finger, a perfect fit.
“Cool,” Peter gave you a smile. “I love you.”
“I love you too.”
Peter pressed a kiss to your lips and pulled you into a tight hug; he refused to let go for a few minutes, just holding onto you and savouring the moment. He’d done that a lot over the last two years. Who could blame him? He had already lost you once; already taken for granted what you had.
Now you were back, and he was whole again.
You laughed softly as Tommy yelled into the camera. “What is up, boys!?” He yelled, his voice a bit hoarse from crying. “You've been crying, man?” Tubbo asked, sniffing a bit. “Oh, shut up! You’ve been cryin’ too!” Tommy yelled at the 2. Ranboo had not let go of your hand for a while, and you could tell he was trying not to cry. “Ok, Ok, this is fine-” He spoke, chuckling a bit as he had to take his glasses off to wipe his eyes. “Ok, so, we’ll just go do something fun together, all of us, then you go home,” Ranboo spoke, his tone saddening at the end. The mood sort of depressed after he said this.
He didn’t want you to go, none of you did. Tommy scoffed into the camera, trying to hide his tears. “Alright, you sad-sacks. Let’s get moving. Randad leaves at 6 and it’s 11 o’clock right now! Meaning we still have… 1, 2, 3-” [Name], or ‘Randad’ as he was called by the fanbase, interrupted him. “Eight hours, Tommy. Although, it’s probably less than that since we’ll have to drive. But, let’s not dwell on it. Let’s just have some fun,” You spoke, Tubbo nodded in confirmation as Ranboo squeezed your hand. “Jeez, that was inspirational,” Tommy muttered with sarcasm dripping through his voice.
You cackled, finding what he said funny. Your [___] accent was shining through in that laugh. Ranboo patted your back, well tried to, as he was also giggling like a maniac. You smiled at the gesture, chuckling to yourself. “I’m here!” a voice yelled, and you all turned to find Wilbur, in all of his 6’6 glory, running toward you all. You smiled and nodded to the man as he slowed his pace. The morning sun shone down, giving his eyes a shine and making them pop. You pat Ranboo on the shoulder, signaling for him to let you go. He sighed sadly but complied. You just pat his back as a small thanks.
You all got on the ride, it was a type of roller-coaster, so Ranboo could barely fit in the seats. You think that the little kids who saw you all and didn’t know who you all thought you were giants. You smiled at the thought. Sure, you were a father, but come on- it was fun to scare kids who didn’t know you! You looked at your hand when you felt someone holding it, it was Ranboo. You grinned at him as the ride went up. Tubbo looked at your hands and stared at them, before deciding to link his pinky with one of your fingers.
Before the ride went down, Tubbo had to make his thoughts known to you both and the camera. “Ya’know, if people didn’t see you both up there and just saw all of us holding hands, they might think we’re a polygon couple, like Big Q, Karl, and SapnNAAPP-'' He was almost able to finish, but the ride started up and left his ideas in the dust. It also cut your laughing fit. The ride shot off down the coaster, and you could hear Tommy’s screams from behind you. You smiled, knowing this day would be great, even though it was your last. The rollercoaster came to a stop as the metal belts came undone. Ranboo’s hair was frizzy and uneven, along with your [color] hair.
You started laughing as you remembered Tubbo’s previous statement. Ranboo and Tubbo began laughing as well. “T-Tub-bo-oh-oh- that was so wrong- hehHAH-” Your son spoke between laughter, and you nodded along to his words. Wilbur looked to you confused as Tommy looked confused and terrified. Your laughter died down, but you knew you would have the giggles for the rest of the day. “Heh heh heh-” You chuckled as you walked through the hall from the ride. Tommy looked at you and gave a lopsided smile. “So, what was the joke-” He wasn’t able to finish as you burst into a peal of wheezing laughter. Your laughter filled the room, and soon enough the others were laughing as well.
You then went past a gift shop, where Tommy promptly stopped and then turned to Wilbur. “Please, Will. I want a gift,” He spoke, one hand pointing the camera in his face and one pointing to the shop’s doors. Wil shook his head with a small laugh, acting as if he would say yes, but what came out caused you to laugh again. “No, Tommy,” You cackled again as Tommy held a pleading look to his face. “Oh, Oh but that’s bullshit, Will! I want a gift!” He slightly yelled at Wilbur. You sighed and slipped away from the group. Hopefully, they wouldn’t notice. Looking on the colorful shelf of the gift shop, you stopped seeing the toys. You saw three stuffed animals and you knew, that’s what you’d get them.
“Dad?” Ranboo asked, stopping the small argument between Wilbur and Tommy. They looked up and craned their heads around for you as Tubbo giggled. He saw you slip into the gift shop but didn’t say anything. You stepped out, the jingle of the bell alerting the four. You smiled as your saw the relief and confusion contort onto their faces. “Look, today is my last day, and I wanted to get a little something for all of you to remember me bye,” You spoke, a small gin coming onto your face. You pulled out a small bee plushie and handed it to Tubbo, who happily took the gift with a grin spreading across his face. You then pulled out a small raccoon toy, which you gave to Tommy. He huffed in annoyance at the gift, but a small smile graced his face at the toy. And last, you gifted Ranboo a small cat plushie. You had always compared him to a cat, so he got the inside joke and gave a little smile under his duel-colored mask.
Wilbur gasped at you in mock shock and frowned. “What about me, Randad?!” He yelled out, causing a tiny scene. It made you chuckle as you pulled out a slinky. “A slinky for you, Wilbur,” You spoke, acting as if he was royalty. He gave a large smile and held his hands out, waiting for the gift to grace his skin. The boy laughed at your antics and started to walk along. You all continued your day, watching as the sun went over your heads. It was around 3:40, and you had to start getting ready to leave. “C’mon boys, let’s go. It’s 3:37,” You spoke, making their smiles and happy faces turn sour. Wilbur gave a small pout, but complied with your request. Tubbo and Tommy huffed out and frowned as Ranboo just made a sad noise.
You all got into your car, heading off to the Airport. Wilbur, Tommy, and Tubbo sat in the back of your car as you and Ranboo sat in the front seats. The car was silent with a hint of sadness all around you. A wave of tears passed over you as you turned the corner. You weren’t an ugly crier, but you sure weren’t a pretty one. Your tears came crashing down onto your face as you stopped the car. You tried to be strong, you really did, but this hurt. You were leaving your son! In Britain! It hurt so bad. Ranboo gave a sniff and pat your shoulder. You smiled as you tried to get out of the car. The airport was less crowded then it should be, but you were still going to have to walk through a crowd.
You felt your phone buzz in your pocket. You looked to Wilbur who gave an ok before he went to get your stuff. It was Kristin. You smiled, wiping your tears a bit and answered your call. “Hey, Kris,” You spoke, adding in the little nickname you had thought of. Your voice was shaky and she could tell you had been crying. So could Phil, who was also in the car. “Hey, [Name], how are you? We’re almost to the airport to say bye!” Kristin spoke, her American accent shining as she yelled into the phone. You smiled at the joy in her tone. “I-I not holding up as well as I wanted to, but hey, I’m happy you're coming here. Wilbur, Tommy, Tubbo, Ranboo and I were just out having a fun day together.. And now that fun day has ended, heh,” You spoke, your voice still shaky as more tears overwhelmed you.
She gave a sad ‘awe’ and you could hear the pout in her voice, “Well, I know how that feels. Wait for up at your port spot, and we’ll all meet up, alright?” You nodded into the phone, and a sniff could be heard on Kristin and Phil’s side. “You got it,” She smiled at Phil and looked at him. “H-Hang on- I need to mute for a second,” She spoke, you sighed and gave your phone to Ranboo who was sitting down, not helping at all. He was still trying to take in the fact that his dad would be leaving him. Kristin turned to Phil after muting. “We have a spare room, right? It has a bed. He’s been over here. He’s a good guy, and you hear how sad he is to leave-” Kristin’s rant was cut off by a chuckle from Phil.
“Sure, hunny, he can stay,” Phil smiled and Kristin gave a joyous nod to her husband as she unmuted the phone. “Hello?” She asked, but she was met with some mumbling. “Ranboo?” It was Phil this time. “Phil? O-oh, hey. Yeah, dad’s doing some stuff right now, you need him?” Ranboo asked, trying to cover his tears. “No, don’t worry, Just wanted to say that we were almost here. Tell your dad, alright mate?” Phil informed. Ranboo gave a small alright and hung up. He stood up and stretched out, walking over to you to tell you that Phil and ‘Mumza’ were almost here. You gave your son a small smile and all of you walked to your gate. It was a hassle, walking through the crowds, but when you got to your gate, Tommy pulled out his camera and started vlogging.
“Randad’s about to leave. Unpog,” He spoke into the camera, tears filling his eyes, along with everyone else’s. You chuckled at the comment, before looking around. It had been about 10 minutes and Phil and Kristin still weren’t- “[Name]!” Scratch that, they were here. You got up and walked to Kristin, leaning down to give her a hug. “Hey, Kris, hey Phil,” You spoke sniffling a bit. Tommy turned the camera to Phil and Kristin and gave the camera a teary look. “Look, It’s Dad and Mumza,” Kristin looked at you as you turned to Tommy. She looked to Phil, who nodded in response. “c-Can I have your all’s attention?” She tried, and it worked. She got everyone’s attention. She cleared her throat and looked at you. “[Name], I know how sad you’ve been to leave. And personally, I don’t think anyone wants you to leave. So.. I brought up that you could stay with me and Phil,” Before she could finish, your hands were at your mouth and your body had gone downwards. Tubbo was teary-eyed and smiling, along with Wilbur. Tommy was filming the whole thing and smiling at you all. Ranboo’s hands cupped his mouth.
You were still on the floor, squatting down, when she continued. “Yeah, we have a guest room, you can visit the boys anytime you want… for the most part. So, what do you say?” She finished with the question. Without gestation you got up and nodded, leaning into a hug. The boys cheered and smiled with tears rolling down their cheeks. You looked over to Phil and he gave you a positive nod. You smiled and left the hug with Kristin to hug Ranboo. He returned it. In the end, everyone was crying, you had gotten to live with 2 very good friends. And the viewers were very happy, as you weren’t leaving.
sisterinnit!
cc!wilbur soot x tommy’s older sister
tw: language
note: this one uses specifically she/her pronouns, however, you can replace them with your pronouns. it won’t change the story at all. sorry that this is kinda shit but tumblr deleted my draft and i had to completely rewrite it so this is what i’ve got. hope you enjoy! <3
“y/n this is wilbur, wilbur this is y/n.” tommy gave the basic introductions with a bored look on his face.
“y/n simons, pleasure to meet you.”
“wilbur soot, the pleasure is all mine.”
as he shook your hand, you stared into each other’s eyes. he wore a small smile, that was almost a smirk. was it just you, or was there electricity when your hands touched? that had to be in your head, right? your gaze lingered on the other for perhaps a little too long before you let go of each other’s hands.
“now get out, y/n.” tommy pushed you towards the door.
•••
“y/n can you see wilbur out? i’m busy!”
wilbur looked at you with a smile, causing you to blush. you nodded and yelled back at your brother, “yeah!”
you led wilbur to the front door, opening it and stepping to the side. you looked at him to find he was already looking at you. he grabbed your hand and placed a kiss on your knuckles.
“it was nice meeting you, y/n.”
as you stuttered out a reply, he gave you that same almost-smirk and turned away, walking down your driveway.
•••
“what are you doing up?”
you jumped, not expecting to see someone in your kitchen at two am. then you remembered tommy had invited friends over.
“oh, it’s you. i… i can’t sleep. what are you still doing awake?”
you filled a glass up with water and began to drink it, putting it in the sink when you were done.
“tommy snores really loud.”
you both let out a light laugh at your younger brother’s expense.
“well, since we’re both awake, do you want to do something? we could watch friends? that’s all i was doing anyway.”
“that sounds great.”
you both made your way up the stairs and into your room. you sat on the bed and set up the laptop with the episode you were currently on. eventually you were laying down together watching joey do lunges in all of chandler’s clothes.
(like this ^^^)
you were about halfway through a second episode when tommy interrupted.
“what the hell are you guys doing?”
you both looked up at the tired gremlin child.
“watching friends.” wilbur gave him a cheeky smile.
•••
“hello?”
“oh! uh, hello…?”
“oh it’s you, wilbur!” you spoke over your brother’s headset while he was in the bathroom.
“y/n? hi! what are you doing?”
“well tommy’s in the toilet so i wanted to see who he was talking to. turns out it’s you!”
wilbur let out a chuckle. “it’s me!”
“GET OUT OF MY BEDROOM!”
“uh oh, gotta go!” you threw down the headset before running for your life.
•••
“y/n, hang out with us!”
you stopped at the doorway, looking back at the group of boys all sitting on the floor. jack manifold, tubbo, and wilbur all stared up at you.
“no, y/n, get out of my room.” tommy spoke from his spot on the bed.
“aww, why can’t she stay?”
“yeah, tommy, don’t be a dick, man.”
“y/n, stay!”
“no, y/n, leave.”
you looked nervous, being pulled in two different directions, before ultimately deciding that you had other things to do.
“sorry guys, i should probably go.”
a chorus of disappointed groans and “aww”s left the group before you waved and closed the door behind you.
you went back to your room, deciding to give your brother his space despite your loneliness and boredom. you knew you’d want the same from him.
you decided to mess around with your ukulele to pass the time. you played your favorite song, singing along quietly. it wasn’t long before a knock on the door made you stop.
“come in.”
the door opened and none other than wilbur soot popped his head in.
“hey.”
“hey. tommy asked me to tell you to shut up, but i think you sound lovely.”
you turned slightly pink. “oh, uh, thanks. tell tommy i’m sorry and i’ll keep it down.”
“no need, he’s a prick anyway.” he made his way to where you sat on the bed, taking a seat next to you.
“what are you playing?”
you smiled and told him about how it was your favorite song by your favorite artist and you loved how fun it was. he requested you play a little bit for him, so you did. when you were done, you started to talk about it a little more.
at least until you realized he wasn’t listening. he was staring at your lips, leaning in. you followed suit.
the door burst open, causing you two to spring apart.
“wilbur, what the hell is taking so long? and what are you two doing in here with the door closed?”
wilbur smiled at tommy. “playing music, of course.”
tommy gave a skeptical look, dragging wilbur out of the room with a “keep it down, y/n!”
wilbur stopped at the doorway. “by the way, i quite like hanging out with you, y/n.”
•••
“your hands are so tiny!”
“they are not,” you gasped. “your hands are just huge, probably because you’re a giant of a man.”
wilbur laughed. “put your hand up,” he instructed. he touched his to yours gently, showing off the size difference.
you both giggled before stopping and looking into each other’s eyes. he gave you a gentle smile and slipped his fingers in between yours, interlocking them and holding your hand in his larger one.
you looked back at him and smiled.
•••
you knocked on the door three times, and he answered not long after.
“y/n? what are you doing here?”
“tommy thinks he left his sweater here and asked if i could drop by and pick it up on my way home.”
“oh yeah, one second.”
he disappeared for a moment before returning, holding your brother’s red hoodie. “here you go,” he said with a smile.
“thank you. sorry to bother you.”
“it’s no trouble. can i walk you home?”
you felt yourself heating up and smiled. “if you’d like.”
he nodded and grabbed his jacket. then you both started off toward the simons residence. you almost made it before it started raining.
it was light rain at first, so you carried on. however, it got heavier by the second, and pretty soon it was pouring on you two.
wilbur took off his jacket and held it above your heads. “we’re almost there, run!”
the two of you ran the rest of the way, only stopping once you got to your porch. you looked at each other for a moment, catching your breath. then you started laughing. you were both soaked and standing there like idiots, laughing at yourselves.
your laughter soon died down, and then you were just smiling at each other. he reached over to you and brushed a wet piece of hair behind your ear, getting it out of your face.
you weren’t stupid. you knew the look he was giving you was a lovestruck gaze, but you decided to play dumb.
“what?”
then finally it happened. after months of flirting and mutual pining, he closed the gap and kissed you. with his right hand on your face he crashed his lips to yours (a/n: that sounds violent but it’s not meant to be lol), pulling you closer with his left. you wrapped your arms around him, hands tangling in his hair.
passion mingled with desperation and you kissed long after you were breathless. you didn’t part until you heard a loud yell of disgust.
you instantly sprang apart with swollen lips and red faces.
“are you fucking kidding me? that’s my sister, man!” tommy yelled, glaring at wilbur.
he then looked to you. “and you, kissing my best mate?!”
you stood there shocked for a moment before coming to your senses.
“uhhh, I wasn’t kissing, were you kissing?” you said, turning to wilbur and praying to god he caught on to your obvious lie.
“no, i wasn’t kissing.” he shook his head.
“neither was i! see, no kissing here.”
“i’m not stupid,” said tommy, voice low and angry as opposed to the shock and disgust from before. “i saw everything.”
he then turned and walked away from the door, leaving you two alone again.
a moment of awkward silence passed. “i should probably… you know.” you said, pointing to the house.
“oh yeah, no, definitely.” he rubbed the back of his neck.
“and look, i’m sorry if i ruined your friendship with tommy. i know you guys are close, and i hope he forgives you.”
he gave you a sad smile. “same here, love.” he then kissed your cheek and took off into the rain once more.
you went inside and tried fixing things with tommy, who refused to speak to you. after sitting outside his bedroom door for nearly an hour, you finally gave up and headed back into your room. you opened discord.
[your username]: tommy’s ignoring me. i’ve just sat outside his room for an hour and he refuses to talk to me.
WilburSoot: i’ll give it a go.
he did not speak to wilbur. tommy left him on read every time.
•••
tommy avoided you entirely for two weeks. he left the room if you walked in, and he wouldn’t speak to you at the dinner table. your mother was curious what was going on between you two, but neither of you would say anything about it.
finally, you’d had enough.
you asked your mother to call tommy out of his room, since he wouldn’t answer if you were to try. she did, just wanting you two to speak again. once he arrived in the living room, you jumped him. you grabbed him around the middle and threw him on the couch, planting yourself on top of him so he couldn’t run away. your mum left the room.
“hey, you asshole, get off of me!”
“no, tommy! enough is enough! you’re not leaving until you hear me out!”
“no, i don’t want to talk to you!”
“too bad because i’m not moving until you hear what i have to say! i don’t want us to keep avoiding each other like this.”
he went silent and thought about it for a moment, an angry and skeptical look on his face. “…fine. get it over with.”
you took a deep breath.
“tommy, you’re my little brother, and i love you. i’ll always love you, even when you hate me. just know that i never meant to hurt you or make you angry. however… you can’t tell me how to live my life, or who i can be with. i want to be with wilbur. i can’t help it, tommy, i love him. you can be happy for me or not, that’s your choice. but what isn’t your choice, is who i love.”
by the end of your speech, your voice was shaking and your eyes were watery. you got off of tommy and helped him sit up.
his face softened. “you… you love him?”
your tears ran down your cheeks. you nodded. “i do.”
tommy sighed before pulling you into a hug. it was rare for him to show affection, especially to you, but after everything that happened between the two of you, he felt it was important.
“i love you, y/n. you’re my sister, i could never hate you. i’m happy for you. but just know, best mate or not, i’ll castrate him if he makes you sad.”
you laughed, wiping away your tears.
“i should… probably speak with wilbur, yeah?”
you nodded. tommy stood and went back to his room. you followed not long after, and even though you knew it was frowned upon, you stopped to listen at his door.
“tommy, thank god you’re speaking to me. listen, man, i–”
“do you love her, wilbur?”
“what?”
“my sister. do you love her?”
“i– yeah. yeah, i do.”
“good. listen, all i want is for y/n to be happy. meaning if you make her cry, i’ll murder you.”
wilbur chuckled on the other line, making you smile.
“you won’t have to worry about that. i promise you i’ll take care of her.”
“just don’t make my sister cry and don’t be gross in front of me, alright big man?”
“you’ve got yourself a deal, tommyinnit.”
you smiled again before heading off in the direction of your room.
— HAIKYUU BOYS HAVING A TEA PARTY WITH YOUR DAUGHTER
ft. timeskip!miya atsumu, bokuto koutaro, oikawa tooru, kuroo tetsuro, iwaizumi hajime
note: female reader ‼️ watch me write about dad!haikyuu all the moments I didn't have with my own sperm donor
MIYA ATSUMU after a long day at work, you were coming home a little more late than usual and as you were opening the door with a sigh, the first thing you listen is “PEASANT, DO NOT TOUCH THE QWEEN CWON”, yeah that’s definitely your daughter and your pretty sure that the “peasant” is your, oh so-called husband. Curiosity took the best of you, now you were behind your daughter’s door listen carefully what atsumu was saying to her, “WHATYA MEANT PEASANT? I WANNA WEAR A CROWN TOO YA KNOW!” your daughter gasps in disbelieve, “daddy, mom is da queen, I’m da princess and yer the peasant! And clearly, mommy isn’t here so don’t touch her cwon!” One thing you know is that you wouldn’t like to see and hear a screaming match between the peasant and the princess in question, thinking that stepping in is the best option, you said “what’s the matter in here?”, next thing you know, your daughter with his big brown eyes that she got from her father, comes running at you, screaming “momm- I mean queen! Yeah, queen! yer just on time for the tea party, this peasant needs to learn some manners” you picked her up, enjoying the way her little arms go around your neck, “yeah? What did dada do this time?” while her face is on your neck, she tells you with a whisper “psss mom, he is not dad now, remember is tea party time” and now with her voice a little more loud she announces to you what he did “he wanted to use ya cwon! Literally had to scream at him cause of that! Peoples this time are onbelivabol” the las part coming with a sigh, “ugh I now right? Why don’t we teach him some manners then?” After a little thinking, your daughter tells you “uh-huh! Yer right my queen, now I will leave to the bathroom and come back to continue this celebration”. While she leaves, atsumu comes at you with a back hug asking if ya really taking her side? with a low tone, so you replied with “of course I’m taking her side, she’s a child, our child in fact” atsumu looks at you with big eyes and tells you “she is right, people these times are onbelivabol but I still love you my queen”, now facing him, noses and foreheads touching each other you whisper to him “I love you to my peasant” and after a little chuckle you continue “thank you so much for this”.
BOKUTO KOUTAROU he always had tea parties with his daughter on Mondays after his volleyball practice with the MSBY. He couldn’t go to last week's party because of an away game, and he was devasted and promised her little princess that he would get her something. Now he is coming home from the airport with three Elsa dresses, one for his precious child, the other for his precious wife, and the last one for him, it was very difficult to find one of his size cause of his beefy body, but if he promises his little girl something, he is gonna make it without a doubt. “HEY HEY HEY! GUESS WHOS HOME” he screams while putting his suitcase down “HEY HEY HEY DADDY! I MISSED YOU SO MUCH! MOMMY IS MAKING DINNER WHILE I PREPARED OUR SUPER DUPER EXTRA TEA PARTY!!” he picks her up with one arm, making his way to the kitchen to involve you in a hug with the arm he had free “we missed you, kou” snuggling into his neck, and while his arm tightens around you he replies with a soft tone “missed my two girls too, so much” he puts her daughter on the floor again and tells her “missy I have a surprise for our tea party, why don’t you finish the preparations and then mom and I are gonna go there with dinner? Sounds good?” whit a little nod she answers with “yeah dada, that sounds good”. After hearing her enter her room you ask your husband what did he get for her, and when he tells you he didn’t get one, not two but three princess dresses you’re over the moon, the fuck you’re going to do with three dresses? you don’t question him and keep cooking as if you wouldn’t have to put on a frozen show in less than half an hour. “BABY IM COMING TO YOUR ROOM WITH HOT FOOD, BE CAREFULL” the little girl sees you in all your glory, with the most beautiful Elsa dress she ever saw “MAMA, WHY YOU DIDNT TOLD ME ELSA LET YOU BORROW HER DRESS? YOU'RE SO PWETTY!” laughing a little at her comment you decide that it was the best to tell her is a secret between adults, excited to see her reaction when her dad comes to her room with the same dress on him and a little one for her. “IM COMING IN!” your husband yells and your daughter’s eyes are the bigger you ever saw them, running like the flash to steal the dress that was in his dad's hands. “Daddy, that dress is so pwetty on you, and there's one for me! We are all matching! And now we are gonna have our four curse, ugh no, cruse, ump corse, mommy how do I say it?”, “course darling, four meal course. Now dada, why don’t you come to eat with us this fancy dinner?” after nodding and making his way to the both of you, bokuto thinks he is gonna ask for another kid one of these days.
Those Bloody Girls
Pairing: Neville Longbottom x Beauxbaton!Reader
Pronouns: She/Her
Word Count: 2.2k
Request: “I couldn't sleep soooo
Neville absolutely worshiping his beauxbaton gf but his friends think he's full of shit when he tries to tell them about how fucking gorgeous and fantastic she is. And everytime he tries to introduce her to his friends something goes wrong and his friends end up looking at him like he's crazy cuz he's introducing absolutely nothing but air. And separately she has been accidentally meeting all his friends one on one, helping Ron pick up his books in the hall, cleaning off some soot from Seamus face because he looked rather silly, encouraging harry before one of his quidditch matches/Triwizard trials etc and all the while they have no idea that's Nevilles wonderful gf and they all develop a crush on her never telling each other anything so when they finally meet her it's hilarious 😂
-🦡”
Summary: The request says it all
Warnings: None!
A/N: This was such a fun idea. I loved writing this all hail 🦡 anon.
If there was anything Beauxbaton girl's were known for, it was their beautiful looks. They were graceful and diligent, each one graced with the face of an angel, and Neville just so happened to have the prettiest one. They had met during the summer by a complete chain of accidents resulting in one of the greatest blessings he could've ever asked for. Neville was lucky and he knew it, never letting anyone forget.
"Oh bullshit! You're saying she's got a cute face, nice waist, and she can bake? Ha! I'll believe it when I see it, Nev." Ron snorted, Seamus nodding along with him.
"Yeah you expect us to just believe a girl from Beauxbaton of all places chose you? No offense Nev but Beauxbaton girl's have standards and none of us Hogwarts boys meet em." Seamus said, shrugging as he continued to throw rolled up bits of paper in Dean's hair (who still hadn't noticed.). Neville rolled his eyes in irritation, looking to Harry and Dean as well but for once, they were on the same page as the other two.
"Sorry Nev. It's just, a Beauxbaton girl? And from the way you describe it, the most beautiful one in her year if not school?" Harry said, giving him a sympathetic look.
"Yeah mate. You've gotta understand where we're coming from." Dean chimed, turning his attention back to the assignment in his lap. Neville groaned, glaring at his friends.
"You guys act like I haven't tried to introduce you to her! Every time I try to you guys go and get yourselves into something stupid or I end up busy. Let's all agree that Friday you will meet her, no matter what." the boys all nodded in agreement, not really thinking much of it. After all, there was no girlfriend but if it'd ease his mind, they'd show up.
----------------
Ron swore angrily, rolling his eyes in frustration. It was just his luck that he'd drop all his quills and the massive scroll of paper rolling away with his bits of sanity. Normally he'd just collect them and go on with it, not really worrying about time but for once in his god damn life he had made an effort to study for the exam he had next hour and if he was late? All that bloody time would be wasted! However, his worries began to fade as a small manicured (s/c) hand began to gather his quills. His eyes widened as he looked at the girl, mouth gaping.
She had (h/l) (h/c) hair that was an even more vibrant (h/c) in the afternoon sun. Beautiful plush (s/c) thighs (that he'd like to see more from under that little skirt), and not to mention the most beautiful set of (e/c) eyes he had ever seen. But when she smiled? Oh when she smiled, he was hooked. The little emblem on her shirt confirmed his suspicion. Beauxbaton. However what he did miss was the words that were currently leaving her mouth.
"I'm sorry...what?" he asked, causing a giggle to erupt from the girl's mouth. She smiled, handing him the quills that he had dropped.
"I said it's a shame that this happened to you! I hope you aren't too late. I have a free period so I'll carry these to your class for you!" she offered, silence falling over them as he continued to stare at her in awe. His face flushed as she cleared her throat, looking at him expectantly.
"O-oh! Right, yes, thank you. That'd be helpful." He offered her a small smile as he began to walk. The entire time of the walk there, she helped him by quizzing him on the subject and by the time he got there, he felt like he remembered everything!
Everything but asking for her name. He felt like an idiot but for once, it wasn't because of school.
------------------------
Seamus sat at the cauldron, focusing on the ingredients list. His partner had decided from every other time in potions, that he wasn't allowed to touch anything. They had a perfect grade and didn't want it to be ruined from the likes of him. However, he was growing restless. It couldn't be too hard...right? Wrong, so wrong.
He dropped in a few spider legs, stirring counterclockwise like the book had instructed. However, as it turned an angry red and bubbles began to form, he knew that he had screwed up big time. He tried backing away but it was too late, the potion had erupted in a large explosion, black soot coating his face and hair. Everyone in the class turned to look at him, some laughing while some were utterly annoyed. This was such a common thing that it was a miracle when he didn’t blow something up. He flashed Snape a bright smile, ignoring the way the vein on the man’s forehead twitched and juttered in annoyance.
“Class dismissed.” he seethed out. Before he could issue a punishment, Seamus ran off down the hallway ignoring the harsh yells of the potion’s master. He continued to run and run until he accidentally bumped into a group of girls sending him straight to the floor. His face turned rouge with embarrassment as they laughed at his scuffed appearance but a divine voice broke through the laughter.
“Leave him alone guys! You all go ahead, I’ll catch up with you later.” she said, pushing her friends to go ahead in the other direction. Seamus looked up, admiring how beautiful they were but especially the (h/c) haired one in the middle of them all. She was a walking sculpture, a painting straight from the louvre. She was..
“Hot.” he blattered out, not even realizing his words. His eyes widened as he stood up clearing his throat. Luckily for him she hadn’t heard him, causing him to look up to the ceiling and give a quick thank to Merlin himself. She looked back at him, frowning slightly as she observed the soot on his freckled face. Her eyes lit up as she reached into the small purse on her shoulder, pulling out a silk fabric.
“Can’t have you going around looking all silly! Come here.” she said, motioning for him to lean down. He did so instantaneously, cheeks turning even more red as she licked the small fabric before beginning to wipe at the mess on his face. It was an action his mother had done multiple times but for some reason, he found this to be far more endearing. Her face was close to his, giving him a good look at the light layer of gloss on her plump lips. He couldn’t help but wonder if anyone had ever kissed them before, if she had ever had them wrapped around a-
“All done! I can’t do much for your hair but it’s not that noticeable. I have to get going though, bye!” She said flashing him a smile before walking away. When she was out of sight, he couldn’t help but wonder if that had even happened. Did a beautiful girl really just hold his face and clean it...out of the kindness of her heart? Was it truly possible for someone to look so perfect and act so kind? He didn’t know but he surely did wanna find out. He smirked to himself, standing up straight as he walked down the hall.
“She wants me.”
---------------------------------
Harry splashed some water on his face, running a shaky hand through his hair. No matter how many times he’d hop on that broom, zooming around in the sky with the intent to win, he always got painstakingly nervous before a match. He observed his appearance, grimacing at the sickly green undertone to his face. Was he going to puke again? Didn’t matter, he didn’t have time. Sighing he walked out the bathroom, sneaking to observe how many people were in the crowd. His eyes began to wander to the Beauxbaton girls, admiring how pretty they were in the stands. However, what he wasn’t prepared for was for a pretty face to walk over to him, placing a hand on his shoulder.
“Harry, right?” she asked, a gentle smile on her stunning face. His breath hitched as he felt himself be taken by a new set of nerves.
“R-right. Yeah that’s me. I’m, I’m Harry.” he internally kicked himself. How embarrassing. One of the most lovely girls he had ever seen and here he was, making himself look like a fool. His nerves were soothed some when he heard her laugh, a sound like beautiful Christmas bells.
“I think we already established that.” she said, grinning even more. She patted his shoulder as she looked at him, eyes full of sincerity. “No need to be nervous. I’ve heard you’re one of the best players on the field! Do your best out there! I’m rooting for ya.” she began walking off, flipping her Gryffindor scarf around her shoulder. Whether she meant rooting for him personally or the team didn’t matter. A determined look took his face as he began to make his way to his team. He was going to win this, for her.
----------------------
Friday came around quicker than any of them had expected, not like it mattered to them. They all sat around looking at each other, a shared thought running through most of their heads. As if Neville could hear it, he groaned standing up angrily.
“Guys! I swear she’s real! She’s just running a bit late, she’s horrible with time management. Plus, she’s well known amongst her peers so she’s always getting asked to help with things.” he grumbled, staring at them with disdain.
“Nev, it’s okay you don’t have to keep lying. We’ll get you a girlfriend since clearly you’re going mad thinking that you have one.” Seamus said, prompting the boy to throw his textbook at the boy which hit his head with a loud thud. They all looked up as peach colored owl flew in, dropping a note into Neville’s hand. The boys set up a bit straighter, unfamiliar with the owl. The boy’s eyes scanned the page, taking in the words before nodding.
“Alright, it seems she wants us to come to her. She’s by the fountain in the courtyard! That’s cute, she forgot she was supposed to come to me.” he chuckled fondly at the thought of his forgetful girlfriend before turning to walk. His friends still sat on the couch, stunned that this girl might actually be real. “Well don’t just sit there, let’s go!”
All of them scrambled up and began to follow their lanky friend, mumbling amongst themselves.
“No way. Do you think she’s real?”
“Well I’ve never seen that owl!”
“This is insane. Okay if she’s real, she definitely can’t be as hot as he said she is.”
“Yeah probably one of the more...unsightly Beauxbaton girls.”
Wrong. Terribly wrong. Th-that was her? It couldn’t be. However, as the girl’s big doe eyes lit up it was slowly becoming a big possibility. And as she ran to him, jumping into his arms, that possibility became reality right in front of their eyes. Neville leaned in kissing the girl, holding her up in his arms. She wrapped her arms around his neck, smiling into the kiss as she pulled away. Her eyes turned to the group of guys, surprise taking over her face. Neville looked back and forth between her expression and the one of his friends.
“You guys alright?” he asked confusedly, setting the girl back on the ground before pulling her into his side. She eyed them carefully before tilting her head.
“Have we met before?”
“NO!” they all shouted in unison. They all turned to each other in confusion, stepping away from the happy couple.
“You met her too?!” Harry whisper shouted, eyeing the other two. Ron nodded frantically, unable to respond verbally due to the shock and queasiness overtaking him. The beautiful girl from Wednesday was Neville’s girl? Life was not being fair by putting that bird in his hands.
“Like hell I did! She was practically all over me.” Seamus exclaimed, all of them turning to look at the girl who had a lovesick look on her face as Neville rambled on about something.
“Okay now that one I doubt. I can’t fucking believe this. I’ve been thinking about her all week.” Ron groaned out, crossing his arms angrily. Harry nodded in agreement, grabbing the flask that Seamus had pulled out taking a big swig of it.
“You’re telling me. I did a lot more than think about her if you know what I mean.” Seamus mumbled, eyeing the girl’s rear.
“Sadly I do and I wish I didn’t.” Harry grimaced as the gruesome image popped up in his head. “Come on, we better head back over before they think something is up.”
“My bunny says she met you all earlier in the week! How come you didn’t tell me?” he questioned, watching as the boys practically drooled over her.
“I dunno sorta...slipped my mind.” Harry trailed off, eyes dragging along her exposed midriff.
“Nah I’ll be honest. Bird was too hot and didn’t get her name. ‘S a shame really.” Seamus shrugged, earning a kick to the knee from Harry. “What?! I know you thought it too. Congrats Longbottom, you’ve got a grade A girl there.”
Neville looked down at the smaller girl, smiling some as she looked away shyly at the kind words she was receiving.
“Yeah, I do.”
The rain was pelting hard against the window in Y/N’s dorm, the loudness of the rain drops smashing against the glass had awoken the girl from her slumber. She sat up from bed and leaned against her headboard.
Rubbing her eyes, Y/N adjusted to the dim lighting in the room. Everything in her life was just perfect, her grades were good, she had lots of friends, and last but most definitely not least there was Harry.
They had been dating for over a year now and Y/N could see it lasting, what she felt with Harry was something so indescribable, but it made her so happy. The two of them distracted each other from their lives. Y/N helped him take his mind off He Who Must Not Be Named, and he distracted her from her parents.
Her parents did not approve of their relationship, and Y/N knew it probably had something to do with the fact they secretly supported Voldemort. But she hadn’t ever told him that, for the matter she hadn’t told many peoples.
Y/N was staring at the top of her bed, her stomach beginning to turn. This usually happened when she got a bad feeling. Y/N focused on trying to figure out what might happen, fail a test? Have an argument with someone?
Y/N thoughts were going fifty miles an hour that she didn’t hear her friend wake up next to her. “You look deep in thought.” She joked, Y/N turning to face her. “What’s the matter?” Her friend questioned.
Y/N let out a sigh. “Something bad is about to happen to me.” She mumbled, knowing how ridiculous it might have sounded.
“You’ve been listening to Trelawney too much.” Her friend brushed off with a smile, but it slowly dropped when she saw Y/N’s expression. “Come on Y/N, what could possible happen?”
“I don’t know what, but I feel it coming.” Y/N voiced her thoughts to her friend.
“Let’s do something to take your mind off this.” Her friend suggested. Y/N thought that be the best. Normally when she didn’t feel great, if she did something else to busy herself, the thought usually disappeared.
“Where are you planning to take me?” Y/N questioned, she got out of bed and collected her clothes that she would put on.
“I need to go down to Owlery, I promised to send my sister something from Zonko’s.” Her friend informed her, going into the toilet to get dressed.
Y/N decided to just get dressed in the dorm, the other three girls were fast asleep so she felt comfortable changing. The two girls them left the dormitory once they were ready and headed out their common room.
There wasn’t many students around the castle yet, but this was around the time many of them would be waking up. Many would wake up so thankful it was finally the weekend and they could have some sort of freedom.
Umbridge’s rule over the school was making many reach breaking point, there were new rules almost every day and it was completely turning Hogwarts into a prison. They weren’t allowed to do anything, couldn’t act like normal teenagers, she was determined to make everyone prim, proper and to not challenge the Ministry.
There only hope was Dumbledore’s Army, the only freedom they had. But Marietta Edgecombe had ratted them out, and they were all severely punished. Y/N felt sorry for Harry, it was all going so well and once they were caught, he blamed himself. Y/N tried to reassure her boyfriend that it wasn’t his fault, but she couldn’t get through to him.
In fact, the two of them hadn’t really spoken since Umbridge began giving them punishments, Harry was isolating himself and kept his distance. Y/N was missing him but sometimes he did this, so she decided to let him have a moment to himself and then he would be back to normal.
The girls eventually reached the Owlery, Y/N’s friend immediately heading to find her owl so she could send the products from Zonko to her sister. Y/N looked around at the different owls, but one caught her eye.
It was her parent’s owl. And it had a letter tied around their talon. Y/N untied the letter, about to read it until her friend appeared behind her.
“Has Y/N got a love note from Potter?” Her friend teased her.
“Parents owl.” Y/N informed her friend, who raised both brows. Y/N’s parents hadn’t really kept in contact with her much when she was at Hogwarts, so receiving a letter was unusual.
“What did they say?” Her friend questioned.
“I’m not sure, I haven’t read it yet.” Y/N replied, laughing slightly as she thought of something. “Might be so sad, might leave my nose running.”
“If it’s just to bring you down, ignore them.” Her friend reminded her, her arm wrapping around Y/N’s shoulder. “Let’s head back up, I’m starving.”
Y/N agreed, the two girls heading up the castle for breakfast. They entered the Great Hall and were about to sit at their own house table before Hermione waved them over.
“What’s that?” Hermione questioned immediately as they sat down in front of her, the girl’s two best friends were nowhere to be seen, but not unusual for them to be late for breakfast.
“Nosy are we, Hermione?” Y/N’s friend joked, Hermione playfully shrugged it off.
“It’s a letter from my parents.” Y/N told her, placing the unread letter onto the table.
“Oh.” Hermione mumbled, most people knew what Y/N’s parents were like, she had either told them or heard Harry’s complaints about they didn’t approve of him and the relationship. “Is everything alright?”
“I haven’t read it yet. I will after I have something to eat.” Y/N replied, scanning the table to try and find something to eat. “Where’s the toast?” Her friend reaching and grabbing a piece of toast for Y/N.
The three girls just quietly ate breakfast for a while and enjoyed each other’s company, Ron tiredly stumbled towards them. “Nice of you to finally join us Ronald.” Hermione greeted as he sat down beside her.
“Hermione, I was exhausted.” Ron huffed, grabbing as much food as he could onto his plate, he always acted like he barely eats.
“You always are.” Hermione mumbled under her breath, going back to eating some porridge.
“Where’s Harry?” Y/N blurted out, poor Ron had been harassed by her since Harry started to isolate himself. Ron most definitely knew more than she did.
“Still getting ready, mate.” Ron spoke with his mouth full, Hermione pulling a face and scoffing. “I think he’s alright today, you know, I’d have a chat with him today.” He suggested.
“Thanks Ron.” Y/N smiled, finishing what she was having. Her eyes caught the letter again, she really didn’t want to open it but she was also desperate to find out what they want. With a quiet sigh, she picked up the letter and began to read it.
Dear Y/N,
We hope you are well at Hogwarts, Umbridge seems to finally be turning that school around for the better, I’m sure you’d agree.
Well you would have when you were younger.
We miss our old Y/N, always following the rules and in our footsteps. But every since you started to attend Hogwarts with that daft old man as your head teacher, you changed.
And of course that boyfriend of yours didn’t help either, just like his father, always in trouble. Poor Lily should’ve saved herself.
As you know, the Dark Lord is back. You know how we always felt towards him, but we fear he will target us because of your choices. Many have heard he won’t accept us, because of your closeness to Potter.
He may come after us Y/N, we need you back on our side. Otherwise we’re all dead, you don’t want Potter finding out you’ve been killed by him? He can’t lose another loved one to the Dark Lord.
Write back to us as soon as you can, we can guide you along the way.
All the best,
Mum and Dad.
Y/N eyes began to well up, she knew that feeling from this morning meant something, but for it to be this bad? How on earth she was meant to tell Harry this? “Everything alright?” Her friend put a hand Y/N’s shoulder, the latter had completely forgot where she was at the moment.
“I need to go.” Y/N informed them, quickly jumping up from the bench.
“What did they say to you?” Hermione questioned, but Y/N didn’t answer her. The girl made her way from the hall, eyes trained on the floor to avoid any eye contact from her friends. But that made it difficult to watch where she was going.
Y/N crashed right into someone. “I’m sorry.” She quickly apologised as she refused to look up, she just wanted to go back into her dorm room.
“Y/N?” A voice she could instantly recognise.
“I can’t talk right now, Harry.” Y/N rushed past him, she needed to think what she was going to tell him, if she was going to tell him.
“I just hope he don’t want to leave me.” She mumbled to herself.
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷
It had been a few weeks and Y/N hadn’t said a word to anybody, her and Harry had completely switched places. She was the one isolating herself, trying to decide what to do. Ignore what her parents said, stay with her boyfriend and friends and hope to God nothing happens to them. Or risk listening to her parents, and possibly lose her relationships at Hogwarts?
She had been exchanging letters between her parents in the meantime to see what she needed to do, and it seemed to be to just join them at the Ministry, which didn’t seem so bad. Her parents worked high up for the Ministry anyway, so as long as they gave her permission to leave, Umbridge would let her.
Y/N had pretended to stay asleep until the rest of her dorm mates left, including her friend, before eventually getting up. The feeling in her chest was back from before, the one she got before her parents letter. “Something bad is about to happen to me.” She sadly mumbled, even the weather had mirrored her emotions, it was a dreary day, grey skies and gloom surrounded the castle.
Y/N fidgeted with her hands as she thought what would happen, anxiety fuelling her veins. “Why I feel this way? I don’t know…” She took a deep breath. “Maybe-“
The dorm door opened and revealed Y/N’s friend. “What the fuck is going with you?” She demanded. “What did they say to you to make you like this?”
“It’s complicated.” Y/N brushed off, should she tell her? She did tell her friend everything and maybe it would be good to have some advice.
After some deep breaths and forcing tears to stop falling, Y/N confessed to her friend everything. By the end of it, her friend was in complete shock, face contorting from confusing, to anger, to annoyance.
“And I just don’t know what to do about Harry.” Y/N sadly mumbled. “I think of him so much it drives me crazy.”
“Y/N, this is bad.” Her friend managed to stammer out.
“I just don’t want him to leave me.” Y/N cried, finally allowing the tears to fall.
“Don’t be ridiculous, Y/N.” Her friend snapped. “Of course he will. Joining the people who support the being who killed his parents?” She raised a brow. “I’d definitely forgive you.” Sarcastically she finished.
“But he knows what my parents are like.” Y/N countered.
“I don’t think he’ll care.” Her friend pointed out, deep down Y/N knew the same, Harry would be extremely hurt by this. “How the fuck are you gonna get out this?”
“I don’t know.” Y/N shrugged. “You Know Who will kill them if I don’t help them.”
“Are you forgetting who your boyfriend is?” Her friend raised a brow.
Oh yeah, it would be completely fair on Harry to force him to protect her family. “Like he’s gonna show mercy.” Y/N huffed. “Harry was with Cedric and look what happened, he wants Harry and to just kill who gets in his way.”
It was silent for a moment, neither of them knew what to say. “What are you gonna tell him?” Her friend quietly spoke up, Y/N didn’t say anything. Her friend’s mouth fell open and eyes widened at Y/N’s lack of an answer. “You need to tell him.”
“And say what?! Sorry, I need to go help my Death Eater parents and probably do something for You Know Who.” Y/N snapped.
“I don’t know how to help you.” Her friend awkwardly mumbled.
Y/N knew she couldn’t. She was now trapped with no escape.
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷
Y/N was at the Ministry with her parents, she still had no idea what they were doing or why they needed her, but it wasn’t as bad as she thought. The family got into an elevator and started to head down a few floors.
“Now, whatever you do, don’t talk.” Her mum warned her before the elevator stopped, the girl nodded and they walked out as the doors opened. Y/N could see Draco Malfoy’s father and another woman with curly black hair.
“Did it work?” Y/N’s father asked Lucius.
“I believe so.” Lucius replied, nobody really taking notice to Y/N.
“I can’t wait to meet him.” The black haired woman cackled.
“Now, now, Bellatrix. We have to leave him for the Dark Lord.” Lucius reminded her, the woman huffing dramatically. Y/N’s eyes widened, oh how she was praying they weren’t taking about Harry.
Please don’t be talking about Harry.
“What if he’s fine?” Y/N thought to herself. “It’s my mind that’s wrong. And I just let bad thoughts linger for far too long.”
“We’re going in. Have your wand ready.” Her dad whispered to her. They walked through a door with a handle in the middle into a huge room filled with crystal balls. She couldn’t study them for long before being dragged into the darkness.
The door had opened again a few minutes later, but Y/N couldn’t see who had walked in, only dragged by her parents deeper into the room.
“They should be here!” Harry’s voice was heard, Y/N’s heart dropping to her stomach. Why did he have to come here?
“Harry? It’s got your name on it.” Neville informed him.
“Follow Lucius.” Her mum whispered in her ear, Y/N reluctantly following him, who was now wearing a Death Eater mask.
“Harry!” Here it goes, Y/N kept back from Lucius as the group’s wands lit up the path, she desperately wanted to stay hidden and they would never know she was here.
“Where’s Sirius and Y/N?” Harry demanded as Lucius approached him.
“How fortunate we are to have Y/N right with us.” You could hear the smirk in Lucius’ voice, Y/N wanted to run and escape, but how could one girl manage to escape four Death Eaters?
“What are you talking about?” Harry angrily asked.
“Come on Y/N, don’t be shy.” Lucius gestures for her to come forward. Slowly and painfully, the girl got closer to Harry and the words kept repeating in her head.
“Don’t you give me up. Please don’t give up.”
Tom Felton - Baby on the Brain
A/N - First request! I hope this is what you wanted, I really like this idea. I don’t know Tom, nor do I claim to, and the other characters are fictional figments. To celebrate 100 followers, I'm uploading this early. Thank you!
Warnings - overloads of fluff, mentions of baby sick, mild language, slight angst, hints to a breeding kink whoops, lightly implied smut.
Summary - Visiting Tom’s brother and his new baby should be a walk in the park, really, but some unwitting truths come to ahead that you can’t refute. You’ve always wanted a family, but does Tom? (Request for Tom Felton: you guys meet his brother's new baby and then decide to have your own.)
Tom’s bruised knuckles rap thrice against the oak wood of his brother's front door, squeezing your smaller, trembling hand in his, running his fingers over the band of the ring in pride of place. Taking a deep breath in sync with yours, he turns his twinkling blue eyes towards you, lending you a twitch of a reassuring smile.
“Why are you so nervous? It’s only my brother,” he says, his voice gruff following the cigarette he smoked in the car.
“It’s the baby I wanna see,” you breathe, “less nervous, more jittery.”
“Maybe you should’ve gone for tea this morning instead of a double shot coffee.”
You nudge his ribs with your elbow, and then his overly sensitive hip bone with yours, coaxing a gentle chuckle from his lips, “Maybe I wouldn’t have needed it if you hadn’t kept me up so late.”
The devilish, shit-eating grin creeping onto his lips tells you that he feels no remorse, but then again, you’d take tiredness and a night like that over anything. His fingers twine tighter around yours as footsteps begin to shuffle behind the door, followed by an ear-piercing, blood-curdling screech, absolutely unholy.
“See he’s having fun with the kid, then?” you begin to whisper, but your words trail off as Tom’s very exhausted looking brother appears in the doorway, feeding bottle in hand, burping rag over his shoulder, deep purple bags beneath his eyes.
“Alright mate?” Tom greets, stepping one loafer-clad foot over the threshold, offering his brother a man hug.
“Tired, yeah. How you doing, man?” he responds warmly, patting Tom’s back.
“I’m good, I’m good, Jon.” Tom says, though you can feel him almost imperceptibly tense beside you.
Turning ever so slightly, all eyes are cast on you. Naturally, you offer Tom’s brother your warmest smile, teeth and all, sympathy welling both in your eyes and your heart. Kids must be tough if he looks like this with a three-week old.
“And who’s this?” Jonathan asks, sweetly, inquisitive more than anything, though he does look at you a bit peculiarly, scrutinising you, perhaps your outfit, the mom jeans you paired with a cropped cardigan perhaps not his style.
“This is my fiancée, Y/N.” Tom says, his words holding an inflection or pride perhaps, but whatever it is, it sends a pang of excitement shooting down your spine, a smirk creeping its way onto your lips, one you have to bite back, “I’m sorry I haven’t bought her over before, but you know what it’s like.”
“Yeah, course. Nice to meet you.”
“And you! Where’s the baby?”
Tom chuckles softly, and he curls his arm around your body, hip to hip. “She loves kids.”
Jonathan stands aside, a welcoming hand to beckon you into his home, the laminate floors covered in baby commodities, pastel blankets strewn everywhere, but other than, surprisingly clean considering Tom mentioned his brother was a hoarder and was always the most untidy of the bunch all throughout their youth. Considering how bad Tom is and how often you’re stuck cleaning away his dirty dishes and putting his laundry on, you were expecting far worse, but maybe Tom was the worst of them all along.
He tickles between your ribs as you wander through the halls, greeted in the back room by a tiny blonde headed baby, cradled in two arms of a just as exhausted looking lady donning a kind smile, stars dancing in her eyes as she stares down at her temporarily placated child. Tufts of blonde hair pair with enamoured hazel eyes to compliment the soft yellow of their clothes and the rosiness of their chubby cheeks. The hair, the nose, the tiny dimples; this baby looks just like Tom - and all his brothers - did when they were little dots themselves. The same little treasures. You, however, were an unattractive baby compared to this ball of sunshine.
“This is Ainsley.” Tom’s sister in law says lazily, her words falling off as she gapes in adoration at the gurgling blob of joy in her embrace. “And I’m Zara.”
“I’m Y/N.” you smile widely.
Should he not know better, Tom would quite possibly think you’re going to either collapse of hyperventilate, judging by the flush of your cheeks, your elevated pulse, heart beating out of your chest, the tiny, delightful, desperate whimpering noises from the back of your throat, elicited from a single glance into the babies eyes.
Said baby begins to make some indistinguishable noises and flails its arms around faintly, feebly, in your general direction. You’d be lying if your heart didn’t do a somersault in your chest.
“M- may I hold Ainsley?” you stammer out, extending your covered arms in a similar cradle to that of Ainsley’s mother.
“God, you’d be doing me a right favour,” she retorts, her accent broad, Geordie.
She shuffles softly down the pale green sofa, so perfectly complimenting the oak floors, to make a room for you that you take gratefully, and position yourself astutely against the back of the sofa. Before retrieving the baby, though, Tom grasps for a muslin cloth and affectionately drapes it over you, affectionate in the manner that he does it with such care, grazing his thumbs over your collarbones as he goes, ever so gently, barely even a touch, but enough to let you know he’s there. He holds your gaze for a moment, his lips twitching into a smile. This alone sends butterflies to your stomach and sets a sheen of fog about your head, taking you even more by surprise when the baby is laid in your arms, writhing and smiling and blinking so sweetly.
“Hiya darling,” you coo, “aren’t you just the most precious thing.”
“Gender neutral name and clothing...” Tom interjects, sidling up on the arm of the sofa beside you, “may I ask their sex and the pronouns you’re using?”
“Male, but we’re trying to be as gender neutral as possible so they can grow up not feeling pressured.”
You can’t wipe the beam from your face, or prevent the small ‘awwh!’ from escaping under your breath, curling the cloth slightly around the child, “That’s a wonderful attitude. Tommy, would you fetch my bag from the car, please?”
In a second, he’s bouncing up, his hand thrust deep in his chinos to fish for the car key. “You asked me to grab it before we got out as well, sorry sweetheart. Back in a minute.” With a nod to his brother, he’s racing out the door, his footsteps thundering through the house. Your attention, however, remains glued to the baby.
“Would you like me to set them down for tummy time afterwards, or is he going back to sleep?” You ponder aloud, eyes glued to the wry tufts of hair so soft and silky between your fingers.
“If he falls asleep in your arms, that’s fab. We’re just livin’ minute by minute.”
You release a small laugh, “Fair enough.”
Jon sits beside you tentatively, between yourself and his wife, his arm wrapping around her as she leans her body weight against him, her hair--held in a bun before, now just kind of flopping into her eyeline--tickling her shoulder and causing him to wince a little.
“How do you know so much about babies?”
The sigh you don’t mean to release is wistful at best, plain pining at worst--and probably most obvious. “I’ve always wanted them, kids, but Tommy’s the first guy I’ve settled down with, but despite being engaged, we’re still taking things slowly.”-- You shrug, as best as you can with the baby in hold, and cock your head to the side to peer down better at every tiny freckle on Ainsley’s skin.--“I love him to bits, but he wants to wait, and I’m still young, a good chunk younger than he is.”
“If it helps,” he starts, “I’ve never seen Tom as in love with someone as he is you. He’s besotted. You say the word, he’ll do it.”
“I know. I just don’t want to make him do anything unless he’s 100% sure.”
“And that’s what makes you his perfect girl.”
Your heart swells. There’s a beat, a pause of silence, filled only with the zapping of the car outside, no more than a couple of seconds before Jon’s wife speaks again.
“Enough of that. Show us the ring!”
If they’re all this excitable at something as simple as your engagement ring, perhaps you’ll fit in with his family better than you anticipated. ** Certainly, if their amiable gasps are anything to go by as you display your hand to them, your ring finger held out, supporting Ainsley’s head in the crook of your elbow as they gawk at the diamond glistening in the sunlight streaming in from their floor-to-ceiling patio doors. You have to admit it’s a pretty damn beautiful ring, the one you always dreamed of. An oval cut 0.5ct diamond held in place by a delicate split-shank 18ct gold band. It glows ethereally in whatever light there is, but most spectacularly in Tom’s eyes.
“It’s the most gorgeous ring,” she gushes, “apart from mine.”
A smile creeps its way in. You’re not entirely sure what the hell you’ve done right in your life to deserve this incredible, expensive ring, or even Tom for that reason. This is the life you’ve always dreamed of, the one that Tom’s brother has, and if you’re even half as happy as they are after being married for 5 years then you’ll consider your life to be a great success. You always wanted the quiet family life in the suburbs, with a lovely house and a nice garden and a couple of kids, working a part time job that pays well and allows you time for your children and your husband… then you fell in love with him. Loving Tom, though, that’s the true gift in your life, and you’d take him over that life any day. He’s the best, truly.
Speak of the devil and he shall arrive, since Tom comes puffing into the room, his heavy footsteps coming to a halt in the doorway as he hands over your abnormally large handbag.
“Here,” he gasps, but turns his gaze upon your hand, witnessing their marvelling at the rock he put there, “it is a pretty boss ring, isn’t it? Worth every penny.”
He bends down to ghost a kiss over your lips, his slightly long dark-blonde hair tickling your cheeks, smiling warmly down at you before deciding to sidle up next to you in the small gap between you and the arm of the sofa. However, half way down, his hip bones are digging in, and he winces up like he’s just been shocked. You know how sensitive his hip bones are, a fat you use against him incredibly often for all the best reasons, but today, he’s been so good, and you shan’t make him sit uncomfortably.
Keeping your hold on Ainsley--who’s almost asleep already, quieter than he was before with only faint gurgles escaping, their eyes droopy--steady, you begin to stand, and shuffle yourself up a bit, allowing Tom to take your previous seat, before placing yourself back down with as little ‘umph’ as you can manage, hooking your thigh over tom’s in the process. He knows what to do, it’s always been your calling card at home or at a party: as soon as you sling your leg over his, he pulls you into his lap eerie time, and today is no different. Well, perhaps it is, as he furrows his dark eyebrows inquisitively, gazing adoringly at you and the child in your arms, waiting for your nod okay before he hitches his arms around your waist and tugs you, as gently as he possibly can with his delicate grip, into his lap, giving you both ample space.
“Babe,” you whisper, “can you fetch the gift out of my bag?”
He’s instantly ferreting around until he finds the presents you neatly wrapped in polka dot paper, and hands them to Jonathan. Eagerly, they're unwrapped, and it seems that your many arguments over what to get Tom’s niece or nephew were worth it, considering the fact their eyes begin to brim with tears.
A soft grey elephant plush, holding a yellow heart, embellished with ‘Ainsley Felton, love Uncle Tom’, and a Peter Rabbit china crockery set for when they’re older.
“Thank you,” Zara exclaims, the way only a mother can, in gracious relief, “they’re adorable, so perfect.”
And before you know it, both you and Tom are being embraced wholeheartedly, as though you’re already their family. It’s been a life since anyone besides Tom hugged you, but this, this is nice.
“Well, lunch?”
Said lunch is a tumultuous affair, with a delivery pizza being ordered from the local dominoes, but with Ainsley so comfortable and calm in your arms, it was an elected decision not to move him, and instead, Tom fed you your pizza. It isn’t the first time, his love language seems to be feeding you things, but normally it's strawberries or chocolate truffles. Never before have you covered an entire medium pizza being fed to you while trying to avoid dropping any toppings or tomato sauce onto a peaceful baby, but that is just an indicator for the rest of the afternoon, Tom’s hands or eyes never once leaving you.
Completely accidentally, Jonathan and his wife drift off to sleep. You smile sadly at the sight, unable to blame them, they must be knackered, the problem simply lies in the fact that Ainsley begins to stir just as they drift off.
“See if there’s any milk in the fridge, please, I think they’re using formula.” you hiss to Tom, standing up cautiously.
Aghast, he grapples for words, “I-I’m sorry, what?!”
“Forget it,” you sigh, “take the baby and change him, please.”
“Change him?!” Again, that same tone of staggered surprise. “I don’t know how!”
“You have four nieces and nephews already, yes you do. He’s going to start screaming in a minute and wake your very tired, very groggy brother. Change the baby.”
When your eyes begin to thin, nostrils flaring, eyebrows raising, he knows not to mess with you, so he swallows thickly, his throat bobbing up and down, and scoops a crying Ainsley from your arms. As he treads upstairs, you find your way back into the kitchen, and find on the counter the bottles done with their sterilisation. This is okay, this is great, you know how to do this, and years of babysitting taught you exactly how to do this. It’s almost like that scene from Outnumbered, assembling the bottle with your eyes closed, muscle memory taking over from your brain. When your eyes flutter open, you almost let out a little squeal at your achievement. If only you could learn this all over again, have this life with a little child of your own, with Tom being as good a dad as he’s acting right now. When you handed him the baby, though, you couldn’t help but notice the fear that flashed over his face, paling him a shade, his pupils dilating to erase the blue. You wish he wasn’t so scared…
A few minutes later, with the kettle boiled and the formula made, you appear in the front room where Tom is swaddling Ainsley, holding the bean against his beating heart, making only the very slightest movements to entertain them.
“Give him a bit of tummy time while the milk cools, do you want to feed him?” you offer, stepping over the threshold .
“N-no,” he exhales slowly, “I think you’d best do that. Can I just put them down?”
“I’ll grab the mat from the corner”--you spied it as you walked in, a colourful crinkle mat rolled up and tucked away from view against the cream walls, behind the flat-screen on its grand stand--“and then yeah.”
Even as he puts Ainsley down, stomach first, onto the playmat, he looks petrified. Taking a seat on the floor to watch over them, you tug on Tom’s tan trouser leg. Indecisiveness gnaws at him, tugging him away from you, but he concedes to your widened puppy eyes, and tumbles onto the shag pile rug next to you, his arm wrapping around your shoulders like its second nature.
“You okay?” you whisper.
“Yeah, course. You?”
“Yeah.”
You let your head fall to his arm, a blissful smile creeping its way onto your lips when Ainsley looks you dead in the eye, hazel orbs twinkling, full of hope.
“I love you.”
“I know,” he hums, “I love you too.”
“Then why are you being so… prickly with me today?”
He shifts away from you the most miniscule amount, “I’m not.”
“We’ve been together for years, Tom. I know when you’re bloody lying.” you lower your voice for the final words, “now tell me why you’re being such a pouty puss.”
You mimic his frown, knowing full well that he hates it when you do so. He hates seeing you sad, even if it's just pretend, so makes a swooping move to kiss the frown away.
“Would you leave me if I said I didn’t want kids?” his voice breaks on the final word, little more than a whisper, but his next move is so animated that it almost startles you with the bottle in hand. “I mean, you know I want them. I love kids, I want us to have a family, but…”
“Nothing would ever make me leave you, Tom. You couldn’t do anything that’d cause me to fall out of love with you.”
The pain in your statement sends a shock through you, singing your heart, poisoning your mind, sending a sour bile running up your throat. No matter how many daggers shoot at your heart, it remains to be true. You’d do anything for him. If, tomorrow, he turned around and said he wanted the two of you to stay together but never marry and never have children, you wouldn’t back down without a fight, but you’d accept it. Despite all your lifelong hopes, nothing trumps Tom.
“I’m gonna feed Ainsley now.”
Picking the baby up from the rug, you put a bib around his neck, and throw another cloth around you, taking a seat in the corner chair to feed him.
“I’m going to the bathroom.” he says, and walks out, shoulders slumped.
You watch him wistfully as he leaves the room, and even when he returns--refusing to look at you--your gaze is still trained on his every move, slumping into the shag pile rug to watch the TV on a low volume. You can feel his eyes on you, that burning pair of eyes that follow you everywhere, your every movement, his ears honed, trained to your every shift and whisper. The second you turn upon him though, he’s looking away.
“I’ll put Ainsley down now,” you announce after burping him, “we need to leave soon if we want to make it home before dark.”
He doesn’t even bat an eye as you sashay past him, Ainsley’s cries muffled by a dummy, but the second he hears your footsteps heading back downstairs, his own begin to thunder, pounding against the stairs to meet you halfway.
“Wait,” he whispers, “come on, sit down, talk to me. I love you.”
A sigh heaves your chest, “I love you too. Talk about what?”
“You’re being arsey with me.”
“Because you said you don’t want kids!”
“Well I didn’t mean it, I’m just”--he pinches the bridge of his nose, and ushers you up on the stairs, your calves hitting the carpet--“there’s a lot to think about. We just met the kid, and I saw how your face lit up when you held him.”
“You know I want kids, Tom.”
“I know, but can we not talk about kids for a second? I want to talk about you. You’re my fiancée, I want to make you my wife. I’m just scared.”
“What of? You have nothing to be scared of. I’ll be here no matter what.”
“That’s why I’m scared!” he exasperates, flailing his arms about, “I don’t want you to senselessly follow me and love me if I can’t give you what you want. I’m scared of fucking this up, fucking you up. I’m scared of this going wrong, with children or marriage or saying something wrong, because I can’t lose you.”
“Tom,” you murmur.
Your hand flies up to cup his jaw, grazing your thumb over the stubble growing there, the faintest shadow.
“I love you. I- I need you. Y/N, sweetheart, please. I just wanna stay how we are, just stay this way for a bit, slow down because the world is moving too fast, and I’m gonna fall, but I can’t drag you down with me.” he croaks, cradling your neck with trembling, callused hands. “Can we stay how we are? Just us? Just you and me?”
“Babe you aren’t gonna lose me. Everything else off the table, we’ve got this, we’ve got us. We can stop the world and get off if that's what you want. Nothing is immediate, everything can wait.” you promise, your eyes boring into his.
All at once, his lips come crashing down onto yours, swallowing any inhibitions with his lavishing tongue, his hot breath slanting and fanning over your lips, leaving innocent adoration in their wake. Until a piercing scream resounds.
“Except maybe that.”
You duck from his grip skilfully, and slip into Ainsley’s room, two fingers reaching out to tickle their stomach, causing the scream to hiccup in their throat momentarily. Then, as if wondering what to do next, he just stares up at you imploringly, questioningly.
“Come on Ainsley, I just set you down to sleep. Be good and let mummy and daddy sleep too, okay?” you coo, tucking his blanket back up to his neck, slipping his cuddly toy closer, “go back to sleep.”
This child is already one with an attitude, you can tell that by the vehemence with which he yells out. You don’t even have to think twice before you’re stooping into the cot, swathing him in blankets, and lifting him to your bosom, where his screams fall to mere gurgles.
“Do you think he’s sleeping in the bed with them?” you ask Tom, keeping your voice at a steady whisper even with the slight bounces you’re offering the baby, “because I think that causes parental problems above all else because they’re being kicked in the back all night. Still, decreases the risk of SIDS. Why do they have a cot up if they are? He can’t sleep without contact…”
You don’t even realise you’re thinking aloud until Tom presses his thumbs into your shoulders, buckling your whole body. It’s the instant tension reliever, truly, and your shoulders do seem tighter today, perhaps from all the baby wrangling.
“Lets just sit, shall we?”
You do, taking up refuge in the front room once again, with an extra blanket of his, as well as a supply of cuddly toys, rattles, and dummies. Tom watches you with fascination for the rest of the afternoon, everything you do drawing his full attention; enticing, entrapping. His heart swells at the sight of you bouncing Ainsley around to make him laugh, cooing and giggling with him to coax a smile back after a wail that you hushed down, holding him so closely as he sleeps. He’s finally seeing it, after all these years, you, in your true home habitat, caring for a child, so kindly, so motherly, so naturally. Everything you do instantly seems to set the infant at ease. He knows it should be him, Ainsley is his nephew, but… you’re just better.
In fact, before he even realises it, he’s craving what he doesn’t have. Not that he can’t have it -- you’ve been together for a long time, you’ve discussed a future with children more times than he can count, and of course he wants it. Tom, he’s always wanted to be a dad, to read his kids books and sing them lullabies and show them what daddy did for work… but it's always been a pipe dream. Your wishes of a family have never come to fruition, and all because of his selfish fears.
The world can’t stop turning just because he’s getting cold feet and wants to climb off for a minute to catch his breath. That’s not how life works. If you want something, you’ve gotta grab it by the balls, because the opportunity will be gone before you know it. And with Tom? He won’t lose you because he won’t take a chance to make you happy and give you what you want. If anything, seeing the crestfallen look that settles between your brows when you actually have to give Ainsley back to their parents just further instils and confirms the idea in his head. There’s his future, in his mind's eye, as clear as day. This is what he needs to do, but better still, this is what he wants.
The drive back to your home is spent in relative silence, and a pensive one at that. You know like instinct that Tom is replaying your final conversation with Jonathan and his wife the same way you are. After all, the simple words did put a dampener on your reconciliation. Your hand is on the gearstick the whole way, though, your fingers entwined with his, the simple contact enough for you. You were right at lunch: all day it's been his hands or his eyes on you: you like it when it's both simultaneously, the way it was when you said your goodbyes.
Tom’s hands settled on your hips, his chin atop your head, and you just fell into his enveloping warmth, smiling lazily at the couple you rescued for the afternoon.
“Thanks so much, we owe you one.” Jonathan said, giving Tom another one of those manly hugs as you stand in the dusk-darkened wooden porch.
“Really,” Zara chimed in, her feet shuffling on the tiled floor as she held her husband's hand, “you’re welcome to have him any time. That is, of course, if you don’t have a little one of your own by the time you’ve recovered from that blighter.”
You forced a dry chuckle at her words, an awkward sound, but you seemed to recover well enough, “Well Ainsley’s been a pleasure, and I’m glad we could give you some respite. Take care.”
“And you. Drive safe.”
“We will,” Tom said, offering them a smile, flashing his keys, keeping his grip on you resolute, “thanks for having us.”
Their words still loom over you like a dark cloud. It was a throwaway comment, one they’d have thought nothing of, and most people, and even you on a good day, but you’d had that… spat earlier on that changed everything. Dredging it up would just put an even further dampener on your mood, though, and with a drive home in the semi-darkness already hanging over you like a massive impending storm cloud of fear, that’s definitely not ideal.
“Nice baby, Ainsley,” Tom mentions, turning his indicator on to pull off the dual carriageway.
“Yeah, and he’s cute.”
“Nice eyes.”
And a couple more comments like those are the only conversation you share as the journey goes by, but soon enough, you’re on the home stretch, and your street rolls into view. With your head comfortably rolled back against the headrest, your eyes shut from a tiring day of exertion and childminding , you don’t notice Tom stepping out the car and unravelling his grip from you. Only does it become apparent when he opens your door and unclips your seat belt, kissing your lips tenderly, the chapped skin arising you from whatever zoned out, thoughtful state you were in before.
“Come on, let's get you inside sweetheart.” he murmurs, taking your hands in his as he helps you out the car, His chivalry never fails to astound you--he even carries your bag.
“Thanks darlin’.”
You follow him inside, kicking off your shoes routinely, shrugging off your coat to hang on the peg with your name etched above it. What happens next, though, is what shocks you the most: this isn’t part of your normal ‘returning home’ routine, not if you’ve had a day as tiring as this one. You’re neither complaining nor disappointed, though. How can you be when Tom’s lips latch onto your pulse point and he has you writhing in seconds, only his arm around the small of your back there to support you.
In one fell swoop, he has you spun around and pinned to the wall, his figure with lust-blown eyes hovering above you, every line in his face so loving, even the subtle part of his lips. They only do that when he’s so desperate to kiss you he can barely breathe, when he’s so eager to confess his love again and again that all other words are inconsequential. This is your Tom.
“Let’s try for a baby.” he says, completely resolutely, no trace of hesitation anywhere in his perfectly, delectably gruff tone. “I want one, I want us, and I don’t wanna wait to build a family with you.”
You can feel tears begin to form in the corners of your shock-widened eyes. This… this is- What changed his mind? Just hours ago, he was hell bent against the idea, but now? His cheeks are glowing at the mere prospect. Courtesy and patience be damned, that is if you can get the words out with how choked up you are…
“Really? Y-you mean it?”
His faint smile widens into a full blown grin, one that confirms everything for you. This is it, this is the Tom you agreed to marry, the happy Tom, the smiley Tom, the one who can barely contain his excitement even as he nods, a stray lock of dark blonde hair falling into his eyes as he does so.
Reasonably, you can’t be expected to hold back, and when his hair gets long enough that it falls into his eyeline? That’s your main weakness, so who can blame you when you catapult yourself up onto him, your legs joining around his wait, your arms settling around his neck. He holds you right back, catches you like he was already waiting, and pins you against the wall again. Perhaps the serotonin is too much as you both grin into a searing kiss, the every press of his lips against yours holding more passion than you can fathom a cohesive thought about. He’s… incredible.
And besides, with this enthusiasm, his kiss alone leaving you gasping and clutching onto his hair for some kind of grounding, perhaps it’ll be the first time lucky…
i don't like you
james potter x reader
—author's note: This was a story from my main that I adored so I thought why not rewrite it? The plot is the same, my ability to tell a story however, has changed. James and you do not like each other. Not even a bit. I hope you enjoy ;) Please do leave a comment, it makes my day.
—warning(s): couple of harmless pranks, slytherin! gender neutral!reader (pronouns aren't used).
—word count: 3,431
Groaning, you got up and squinted to make out the details of your dorm. Shouts and rushing made your head thump. You slowly realized a god-awful smell was filling up your room, quicker than you could think. Squeezing your nose shut, you rushed out. Other Slytherins were alongside you, you could hear coughing all around. Your eyes pricked with tears, your throat felt raw. Seeing a very familiar messy dark-haired boy run away jeering; you sensed rage gripping your form like a vice.
Third time. It was the third time the same week that Potter and the elder Black brother had pranked you all. Except it wasn’t funny anymore. That was what pranks were supposed to be right? Something that made everyone laugh along? Looking towards Elodie who was clenching her eyes shut at the sensation, you made a plan in your mind. You knew it was crazy. But when did that ever stop you? James had never conversed with you. Nor you, him. Yet it was clear that he did not like Slytherins. Not one bit.
-♡♡♡-
James yawned, stretching his limbs for a new day. Scrunching his nose, he felt a flowery scent attack him. Maybe it was just Sirius with one of his experiments. Shrugging, he got up and into the shower. That day he had transfiguration, charms, and astronomy. Thankfully nothing with the snakes, they might still be sour about the prank they pulled yesterday. Getting out of the washroom, he hummed to himself as he passed Peter who was still fast asleep. Remus was asleep and Sirius was furiously scribbling on his homework. Always finishing at the last moment.
He didn’t realize the uniform he was putting on until he looked at himself in the mirror. And boy oh boy did he panic. Eyes widening almost comically, he rummaged through his wardrobe, everything a dark green color with silver accents. A note fell at his feet.
“Dearest Marauders,
Take this beautiful gift of green robes from me. I know not all of you deserved this, but then again, I didn't feel like any of you should be left behind. I know how much you love us, Slytherins. Why not showcase it?
With love,
(Y/n) (Y/l/n)”
“Sirius! Remus!” he called out. “Wormtail!”
Sirius didn’t even look up from his parchment, Remus let out a grunt in response. The only answer he got was a faint ‘what’ from the shared bathroom.
“Mates listen to this,” James said firmly, reading the letter out loud. That got their attention. “Our robes are all green. Vivid Slytherin green!”
Remus got up suddenly, with wide eyes rushing to check his almirah. He groaned loudly on finding them in the same predicament James foretold grass-like and smelling heavily of flowers. Sirius however, started crackling.
“What?” James bellowed, his nostrils flaring.
“Well, the sarcasm in that letter is…” He snorted, stopping himself seeing James’s frown. James shook his head as Remus glared at them both.
“This has a strong one-week dye,” he said, punctuating each word, infuriated. “There’s no way it can be removed before the expected time. Why should I suffer for all the things you two do?”
“And I am not suffering?” James quipped back as Remus just shook his head, huffing, and went back to his bed. James looked at Sirius who didn’t look worried at all.
“What? Aren’t you bothered at all?” James asked.
“I look great in everything,” he replied shrugging, making James want to punch him.
He dressed up quickly after, dashing out of the dorm towards the great hall. Ignoring the looks of the students from around and the snickers he looked for you amidst the Slytherin table. It was infuriating, how casually you ate your breakfast, almost oblivious. Stalking towards your place, he cleared his throat grabbing your attention. Your eyes sparkled amusedly, taking in his appearance.
“Why the hell did you do this?” he demanded.
“Now, that’s not a way to talk about the gift I gave you,” you said, batting your eyelashes as he scowled at you. You muttered a spell under your breath, waving your wand slightly before continuing. “I worked hard, you know?”
“You Slytherins are the best thing to walk on this planet!” he shouted before he could stop himself. His eyes grew large. Everyone’s attention now seemed to be on your table.
“Thank you, I know,” you smirked, challenging him. He narrowed his eyes on you.
“You put a speaking charm on me didn’t you?” he hissed as you put on an innocently sweet expression.
“Well, I thought you needed some help with words,” you prompted, getting better reactions than you hoped for. James growled, jumping up and down in annoyance. You tried not to laugh. Did. But the corners of your mouth turned up anyways. He looked like an idiot. The giggle you let out grabbed his attention, his cheeks turning a rosy red.
“I don’t like you,” he said in a rather squeaky voice.
“I don’t like you,” you retaliated. James hated himself for thinking the laugh you let out looking adorable. Anger, which was more of a frustration gawned on his skin. He knew exactly what he was going to do next. Giving you a sickly sweet smile, he enjoyed the slight shiver that went through your arm. Let the prank war begin.
-♡♡♡-
You rushed out of the bathroom, vexed. It had been a long exhausting day and this was the last thing you needed. Your skin was tinted green. Bright neon green. Elodie stared at you in stupor.
“What happened?” she asked and you couldn’t help the raucous whine that escaped your lips.
“I don’t know, okay? I was in the shower and after using soap, my skin turned freaking green,” you hissed as Elodie tried to calm you. You handed her a small piece of paper. “Oh and look what I found beside the shampoo bottle.”
Dear (Y/n),
A gift from me, to showcase your pride in your house. You could thank me later.
James.
P.S. This gift in no way means I’ve started liking you. I don’t.
“James. James did this; that bastard!” you said, nostrils flaring as Elodie rubbed your back.
“Well, it’s just hands and legs…”
“I'm gonna get back at him. Just watch me.”
Your jaw clenched. You knew just what you were gonna do. James started a fight with the wrong person. And you didn’t like him. At all.
-♡♡♡-
You were reading your book when you saw James pacing towards you, from the corner of your eye. Trying to keep a straight face, you fixed your gaze on the book in your hand. Yet you couldn’t help the twitch your mouth gave as he stood right in front of you, folding his arms.
“Wow,” he breathed through clenched teeth. You looked up.
“Real mature of you,” he said in a baby’s voice. It sounded like he pronounced everything through his nose. You made an effort not to start crackling right then.
“Well, one of us had to be, right?”
“Yeah. And giving me the baby voice makes you the adult.”
“I’d think so, yes.” You said brushing his hair. They were surprisingly soft. James glared at you.
“I don’t like you.” He squeaked as you raised an eyebrow.
“I thought we already established that. I don’t like you either boy,” You said, letting out a laugh.
-♡♡♡-
Adjusting your cap, you pulled your books closer to you. It was like everyone was staring at you. Specifically how stupid you looked. A whistle caught your attention. James, it had to be. When you turned towards the sound, you were sadly proved right.
“I like your cap,” he commented, clicking his tongue.
“Geez. Thank you. Just bought it,” you said, threateningly. Take one step James, I dare you; you thought. He didn’t get the message.
“I wonder how it would look on me,” he said, taking a step towards you. You hissed.
“Sorry, not gonna let you borrow it,” you tried to say in a normal tone, but it came out quite high pitched. James dared to grin.
“What if I just…” he said, coming closer as you took a step back, glowering at him in a warning. Not that he took it. He snatched the cap from your head as the long white hair fell. They reached your feet.
“James, give it back,” you warned and he put it on his head.
“Nope,” he said, his eyes full of mischief. You hesitated at his expression, he looked as candid as a child. Maybe you never noticed it, his hair fell round in pretty curls, framing his face. James winked, making you break out of your reverie.
“I think,” he said thoughtfully. “I think I’m going to keep this cap with me, I quite like it. If you want it back, you’re gonna have to take it from me.”
James took a step back as your eyes dilated. He turned around and started sprinting in that direction.
“James!” you shouted, chasing him.
People around you bolted aside, gasping at the scene. A ghostly white-haired student chasing after James as he chortled. It had been going for quite some time and everyone wondered who would win. Few in the favour of James, who had been pranking ever since he set foot in Hogwarts; a few for you since you were a Slytherin and Slytherins never lose. Others just shook their heads, wishing they would get it over with already the cat and mouse game was becoming rather tiring. No one however had the courage to raise their opinions out loud, lest they got involved in the prank war.
-♡♡♡-
“James," you said calmly, though the atmosphere made you anything but. Thick hot fumes rose from all around you making beads of sweat form on your forehead. "James, this doesn’t go in. We have to stir it first.”
“Why don’t you do it then? Little miss know-it-all” he snided. You looked at him fiercely. Slughorn had paired the two of you together for the next project and it couldn’t be more of a disaster. Only if he could just listen.
“I would if you let me,” you pointed out, finally taking over the shared pot. James watched you take a few breaths before starting to work on the potion. Muttering for ingredients from him now and then, you stirred the concoction. Soon, it started to show the exact signs given in their books.
James couldn't help but stare at you as you worked, humming to yourself all the while. You seemed cute like that, bending over the book, occasionally muttering to yourself. His face heated up when you caught his gaze. Luckily he could blame it on the heat.
“Could you cut some beetroots for me?” you asked, ignoring the way he flushed. James nodded, chopping them to the required amount. The two of you finished up fairly swiftly after that.
"So," you started after Slughorn left. He had commented on your work and applauded you both. Happiness was evident from the smiles on your faces. "Library at 4?"
James grinned, giving you a thumbs up. He packed up his stuff before turning to leave. You couldn't help but stare at his retreating figure, thinking, maybe he wasn't so bad after all. Shrugging, you shook away the thought and went your own way. There were things you had to get done that day.
As time passed, the thought started becoming more predominant. He wasn't so bad, your mind reminded you time and time again. The more you started to know James, the more you believed in it. Constant teasing and bickering wasn’t something that became unheard of between the two of you. But it was more lighthearted now… almost as if you were friends crackling over a shared joke. James had somehow caught your eye again, in a completely different way.
It seemed you were noticing new things about him, like how he didn’t look at you with hatred. Come to think of it, was it even ever ‘hate’? Yet there was something soft about the way he gazed at you now, gentle even— you couldn’t put your finger on it. You had come to enjoy his goofy personality, the smile he gave when his eyes were light with mischief. Knowing where these musings led, you had tried your best to beat them down. What was it that you did not try? Remembering every single detail that made you despise him once, all those times your blood boiled at the prank he pulled but nothing— nothing ever worked and your heart still fluttered every time he complimented you.
Was it that bad an idea though? Liking James?
You shivered, pulling your sweater closer to you. Walking had failed to heat your body the way it always did and you reckoned that your deliberation also had something to do with that. It wasn’t about you liking him, your mind prompted, it was about whether he could feel the same way. And if you knew something, you knew that you couldn’t take the answer to be no. The skip in your step halted, and you couldn’t help the sigh that escaped your lips.
Path to the library couldn’t have been more daunting. That was until you saw James and Lily around the corner. Talking, laughing, and standing too close to be called friends. Evans, the one girl James was head over heels for, the one girl you never paid attention to much.
It was like the final shoe dropping. James and you didn’t like each other. People knew that you did as well. It was time you believed it too. Your stomach twisted up at the sight, your mood souring. You turned, walking away.
“Oi!” James called out to you, apologizing to the students he bumped into. You brisked forward, hoping to make it to your dorm. It didn’t work, James ran to catch up with you. Damn his long legs.
“Stop fucking running,” he huffed on reaching you. “Where are you going? We have a study session. You haven’t changed your mind, have you?”
You gritted your teeth.
“I was heading to the library but you and Evans seemed quite busy, so I thought against it,” you said, albeit aggressively. Jealousy was never a good color.
“We were just talking for a moment,” James explained. “I want us to complete the project first though.”
He looked at you, confused. It was hard controlling your anger right then. You couldn’t help the dry laugh that escaped your lips.
“Of course,” you said in a temper. “The faster we finish up the project, the faster you can get rid of me, right? Because you don’t like me.”
James’ smile dropped. Sadness gave way to rage. Of course, you still thought that even after all the time he spent with you.
“Yeah. I don’t like you,” he hissed, gritting his teeth. “So let’s complete the project, shall we? To get rid of each other?”
You looked away. It was the last thing you wanted to hear. You yearned for him to tell you otherwise, to apologize for his words, and to reassure you that it wasn’t so. That you two were something. Friends, companions, anything but this. Yet the bigger part of you told you that he was right. And you were nothing to him.
“Yeah, sure.”
The following study session was tense. You two never worked quietly. Jokes, laughs, and incessant chatter filled the air when you were together. James had regretted his words as soon as they came out of his mouth. He watched your expression fall and a wall build up around you. Your eyes hadn’t met his since. It ate him up. Somehow he didn’t know how to break the bubble he created.
He hated seeing you close off to him.
You heaved a sigh checking the last lines you’d written and then looked at the clock. It had been two hours.
“I think we should stop. There are just two pages left, we can do them tomorrow and you’ll be free,” you said, packing up your things. James opened and closed his mouth as you picked up your bag.
“Hey, wait!” he said as you turned towards him.
“I didn’t mean to, “ James started, but you cut him off.
“James, it’s alright,” you said, taking a deep breath blinking away the tears that emerged. “I understand. You don’t like me, I don’t like you and we’re stuck together for some time. You don’t have to apologize for that.”
James sucked in a breath. That wasn’t right. At all.
“But—“
“There you are! I’ve been looking all over for you,” a voice came and you shifted to see Elodie. You looked over at James, whose eyes pleaded you to stop. But you couldn’t.
You left the library, walking towards your friend leaving behind the boy who stood transfixed at his spot. Why did he feel like he was losing everything? He grudgingly moved his feet towards the common room, your thoughts plaguing his mind. James heard a shout behind him, twisting to see Lily jog up to him.
“James, I was wondering,” she began biting her lip. “Maybe we could sneak out for some butterbeers today? It’s freezing and the snow looks heavenly.”
James found himself shaking his head. His mood was far too spoiled for anything.
“Not today, Lily,” he answered. “I’m tired.”
“Oh, I meant it as a date, you know?” Lily added hopefully. James considered her for a moment. It was everything he had wished for years. Yet he couldn’t feel the happiness that should have come with it. He wanted, no— he needed someone else, someone who made him far giddier. He needed you.
It was like a bolt striking him. He had never been so sure of anything else. Unable to keep the grin off his face, he spoke his next words in a rush.
“Lily, I’m sorry but I can’t,” he shouted, sprinting towards the dungeons. Running through the rather empty corridors he saw the snow which coated the grounds. His breath came out in puffs as he urged himself to move faster. He stopped when something caught his eye. You. Standing out in the snow, looking at the sky with a smile.
Moving towards you, he conjured up a snowball and threw it on your back. Your eyes widened in shock as you jumped, looking towards him.
“What now James?” you snapped.
He conjured up yet another ball and threw it at you. Your eyes grew larger and you glared at him.
“I wanted to say something,” he said as you conjured up a ball and threw it at him in response. He hissed at the icy sensation.
“Then say it.”
“I don’t want to get rid of you,” he said, throwing a snowball at you as your teeth clattered at the sensation. You threw a snowball in return, narrowing your eyes at him.
“Then stop acting as you do.”
He threw yet another ball at you.
“You make me act like that,” he stated. You threw a huge one in response.
“I make you act like an idiot?”
“Yes, you drive me crazy,” he said, throwing some snow at you as you grunted.
“Then why don’t you leave me alone?” you huffed as he threw yet another ball at you, making you cough and splutter.
“Because I can’t.”
“Why?” you asked, throwing a ball at him.
“Because I can’t leave the best thing that happened to me,” he said, making you stop. You stalked towards him and poked his chest with every word you spoke.
“I'm the best thing that happened to you? What is this? Some kind of sick prank? You don’t even like me,” you sobbed, frustrated and angry. That was how he made you feel. Everything all at once. James didn’t know how to answer you so he just took your hand away and cupped your cheek with his other one, leaning in to kiss you. Your eyes fell shut as feeling his lips against yours. You grabbed his shirt pulling him closer feeling his arms tighten around your hips, sucking his bottom lip. When you pulled away you both caught your breath.
“I promise those are the truest words I’ve ever said,” he whispered, his hair messier than usual. He cradled your face, pressing his lips against your forehead. You crossed your arms.
“I still don’t like you,” you said in faux anger. James let out a teary chuckle.
“I don’t like you either,” he replied, smiling.
