Imagine... reincarnation au with yandere!raiden ei who just can't seem to have you in any life.
Or well, any of your lives to be exact as fate had preordained an endless cycle of gain and loss for her, ever so saved from the chilly embrace of death, of erosion. That's not to say your first ‘life’ with her was exactly determined to have an eventual parting—far from that and this (self) assurance ultimately created the deathliest crack on her trust in immortality.
You were a little different back in those days splattered with blood and ichor but, what remained eternal was the humanity and the reflection of an undefiled soul in your eyes—and which, she fell in love with. Despite the surges of elemental currents flowing through your body and an aura that suggested a little more, you had a heart and a pair of [e/c] eyes more humane than any mortals' and every one of your glances that shook Ei to her core was directed at her.
It was only natural, she'd admitted. Only someone as gentle and peaceful as Makoto could hope to hold your attention, adoration and perhaps that beautiful heart, too? Only someone as true as Raiden Makoto could stand beside you, after all. Ei had not complained or allowed even the littlest of these feelings to escape ; the occasional conversations you shared with her and the accidental brushes of your hand against hers was enough to keep her satisfied. If it's Makoto, she didn't mind. If it's you, she would keep her desires locked for another five thousand years. But what is she expected to do or to feel when you end the promise of an eternity alongside her sister?
She searches for another, one unbound by the fleeting nature of the world, one unrestricted by the humane emotions, an unchanging, perennial eternity carved from the same dream. To achieve that she'd forsake anything : her body, her emotions and even take away her people's ambitions.
Following that, many things had transpired. One such day with the Sakuko Decree in effect, as she strolled through the almost deserted paths of Narukami on a rare break from her endless meditation and saw her sanctuary through the puppet's eyes, she noticed a tense figure draped in silks suggesting otherwise of being a foreigner. Upon advancing closer, the figure of you garbed in costly Inazuman clothing and the ever so luminescent pair of [e/c] threw her whole world upside down.
Had the icy heart of the Heavenly Principles finally thawed upon her tireless work to achieve Eternity? Was this the reward, the second chance she'd so begged to receive? Unable to control her excitement she practically leaped towards you and called out your name. You responded with a visage painted with confusion and startle, questioning how she knew but then you mirrored her earlier urgency, quickly adding that you were lost and in search of your husband.
Huh. It seemed like your endearing ditz remained unchanged, too. Though soon she found some less endearing things leaking through your posture ; your flighty glances around the vicinity, twirling of thumbs and a look of silent panic barely contained. She was confused now, what exactly were you so frightened for? Beasts and monsters? Or nobushis harboring ill intent? Or was it the Shogunate?
The answer to that could wait though. Right now, her top priority was to keep you safe and make sure not to repeat the same mistake this time. So, she offered you residency at the Tenshukaku and a promise to send a guard to find your...your.....husband?
The realization dawns on her along with a bone-chilling chime. In seconds your body is blocked by another and a reflection electrifies her stare. Her very own creation stands before her, with you in his grasp and the weight of your relationship with him resounds like a koto's broken string.
It seemed like the Heavenly Principles had a whole array of unfunny jokes set for her.
good luck with everyone's wanderer pulls!

Entrusted Infinity
description: It turns out that the residents needed to be trusted not only in matters relating to politics, economics, and the improvement of their city... but also in such ordinary, everyday things.
characters: Makoto Kagutsuchi
word count: 4k
tags: fluff, Kanai Ward centered, Makoto loves citizens of this city dearly :(
link in ao3: https://archiveofourown.org/works/54360616
The guy closed his eyes, resting his head on his desk. Or his.. regular, home table. After all, for him, for his original, work has became a home for both. Because none of them had a home in its popular meaning for various reasons. As far as he managed to learn from the documents and his own, no, rather his memory, the original did not even have his own name, let alone a place he could call home. Just as the clone. So he came up with his own name - Makoto Kagutsuchi. And he built his own place on his own - having decorated the upper floor of the Amaterasu Corporation tower, once owned by the former CEO, to suit his taste. Sometimes, in very rare moments, he wondered if he had designed this office exactly to his liking, no, more his new home?.. Was it really doings of his own self? Did he really made up his own name all by himself, all was it too just one of old and forgotten ideas of No.1? The person he haven`t had a chance to live as.
All this wide space, a bar with premium alcohol, his favorite huge sofa, a panoramic window that allows him to see the whole Kanai Ward dear to his heart – is this all his and only his decision?
He frowned - of course it is, because it was he who spent hours and hours working with documents, negotiating with the Unified Government, it was he who spent three years on a simple and understandable defense of the city, which was more familiar to him than all the unnecessary strange questions that came into his head with an endless mental stream of water.
But once again, he allowed this water to envelop him from head to toe, sinking deeper and deeper, even though he was not afraid of the lack of oxygen and the endlessly pounding drops of rain protecting the inhabitants that he could see from his endless windows in his lonely office. He was very tired. He often found himself disappointed in the world, in himself, in his original , who turned out to be nothing more than his own reflection with a naive view of the world. No matter his childish attitude, he still sometimes looked at Makoto as if Makoto was really only one who did all the harm. He could feel the judgment in his eyes.
And yet Makoto was agree with this look. After all realisation that half of his own extreme decisions and actions could have been avoided, realizing that he was considered almost as traitor to his city just as were considered this way those in power from the UG. He was more and more often covered with waves of various feelings: regret, confusion, painful overthinking of possible scenarios for another development of events, which, to his shame, he simply could not have known about before. Each time he was taking responsibility for his own policy of actions, Makoto could not get rid of the inner whisper: "trust in others." An idea that reached his original before it reached him. He always was one step ahead...
A lot of this wouldn't have happened if he'd only known how to trust.
But would he be able to trust in Makoto's situation, would his original not have done everything exactly the same if he had been imprisoned in such suffocating truth, if he had been obliged to a drowning city in need of salvation, a city with people who has the exact same fate befallen you?..
But Makoto was learning how to trust. He was still very confused, making decisions based on only his own opinion and on never-retreating sense of the urgent need for quick action, just because that`s the only way he used to. It was as if his city was still in a crisis situation, and the selfish Unified Government with a corrupt Amaterasu peacekeepers was breathing down his back, trying to turn life here into an ant race or destroy it altogether.
Exhausted by the bureaucracy, the CEO slowly turned to the window, without removing the blond strands from his face. But there is no urgent need anymore. As well as any kind of threats. Therefore, without thinking twice and catching himself on the newly arriving desire to decide the fate of the inhabitants for them, even in small things, Makoto turned to the opinion of citizens. Because in the new Kanai Ward there were only their smiles, interest in the fate of the city and endless rain....
Even in summer, it rained in this city, running from overhanging threatening at first glance heavy clouds. But for every inhabitant, there was no sweeter landscape than this austere sky. And Makoto, most of all, was forever fascinated by it, no matter how deeply he plunged into the vast ocean of irritation, deep fatigue and the frequent, unassembled and known for all people fear and doubt that someday this city will come to its natural end.
If the residents are not destroyed by the UG, the residents themselves can…
At some point, they just can come to Makoto with a request to end the fate of Kanai Ward. And it will be exactly the same trust that he will be obliged to listen to in the same way. The only thing was endless here, the CEO realised, was only the artificial rain created by him. It was impossible to inspire the desire for endless life in people. And at some point Makoto, who has been drowning in an absorbing funnel of water for a long time, will have to drag the people whom he swore to save at any cost, to the bottom of this ocean with him.
Because Makoto was too devoted to his city. And for the same reason he takes a sharp breath, emerging from the ocean of absorbing thoughts, once again finding himself on the shore of an industrial, hallowed by numerous LEDs and advertisements on bright billboards of Kanai Ward.
The guy takes an upright position in the chair again, patching up his disheveled hair with a familiar gesture and faintly smiling at the bustle of cars and residents below. It was not the right time for the ocean, because his city had just begun to live and breathe. To laugh, to love, to feel happiness even more than it was capable of before. His city has gained freedom and recognition, so why should he care about the absorbing mental waves of the water surface?..
Kurumi left to look for Yuma. And this meant that there was no one else to braid his unruly hair into neat hairstyles, fixed by caring, feminine hands. And now it was impossible to talk to his original one by one, so they were set in frames of receiving short letters: and in Yuma`s ones he caught the notes of exactly that original , which he remembered from his own memories. Yuma`s memory returned, and it was not surprising to see brief information about the case under investigation, an inappropriate jokes, an official style of speech interrupted by awkward and timid questions, influenced rather by Yuma himself than by No.1 personality...
He's not the only one who have changed.
"I've had enough today ..." the CEO said in a half-voice, exhaling, getting up from the table and stretching, trying to stretch his stiff limbs that have been in the same position for several hours.
He began to overworking even more than in the period of his three-year isolation. And he couldn't explain to himself for what exact reason he`s doing so. Perhaps he was afraid... to celebrate their newfound freedom together with the residents. He felt that he owed them even more now than before. Of course… as Yuma said, he lied to them a lot and unfairly did not even consider the possibility of mutual trust between him and the residents of Kanai Ward.
But he was happy for the fate of his city. For the first time in a long time, He is happy, not wanting to call the homunculi incident a tragedy anymore. Except that only…
Makoto looked blankly at the numerous grateful letters stacked in a special box placed in the very middle of the huge table. There were even presents. Different sweets... something dear to the residents... the city needed time to realize the truth that the United Government and Makoto were hiding from them, he knows it, and deep down he did not even hope for forgiveness. Deep down, he took off the lifeline that had kept him afloat all these years, for the simple reason - the lives of hundreds and hundreds of people depended on his life. He printed out the papers necessary for the transfer the position of CEO to another more honest man and was ready to stay at the bottom of the ocean for that necessary eternity, which he also unfairly deprived. Which all the residents of the city have unjustly gained.
But the citizens of Kanai Ward forgave him, greets him every time they saw him on the streets of the city, nods gratefully to him and personally gave small and large gifts into his hands. In moments like these something was twitching inside Makoto, something was gathering around his eyes and making his nose sting painfully. For reasons he did not understand, a lifebuoy in large quantities - several hundred - was now being given to him from the shore by people who really wants to see him around, to see him as their saviour.
Trust in others helps not to disappear entirely. And he didn't disappear. He tried not to disappear, even though he overwhelms himself with work from head to toe, even with all the grateful letters, for some reason he was worried about an impenetrable, viscous feeling of guilt…
And once again he takes a lifebuoy, taking the modest umbrella gifted by Kurumi in arm and going out into the streets of Kanai Ward.
A July, gentle breeze. Makoto did not know what summer weather meant to his original, he could not remember the clear blue sky and the terrible heat tormenting the entire headquarters of the World Detectives Organisation. The chirping of insects that starts to sound closer to night. In one of his letters, Yuma admitted with some confusion in the way of wording that he simply never paid attention to it. While temperatures and clothes of passers-by were changing in the city, the No.1 of WDO were changing employee reports and requests asking for help. Makoto grinned as he read that letter, because in opposite of his original he notices the world around him with a special inner thrill. Another difference between them.
But he didn't need to know the passing heat and the loosing snow, he didn't even need an umbrella given by a cheerful high school student. The guy stretched out his hand to the unhurried drops, childishly rejoicing at the drops, smiling at them in his heart. They remained with special tenderness on his arm, barely audibly passed over the umbrella and crashed on the asphalt.
The whole city was gentle, for some reason smiling at him as well without thoughts of stopping to do so.
"Good evening, Mr. Makoto", А man who was passing by nodded to him, waving his hand and immediately disappeared around the bend. He is In a hurry.
"Good afternoon ... " The CEO answered in half a voice, realizing that his greeting would no longer be heard.
But Makoto wasn`t in a hurry of any kind. Every time he came out of his "isolated tower", he wished that time would just stop. For a few moments that stretched smoothly, like sweets, in which you could close your eyes and just inhale. Listen carefully.
Listen carefully to the quiet cars passing by, to the faint sound of the traffic lights being switched, to the small puddles splashing under the tires of the car. To conversations in a whisper, to someone's light chuckle and the rustling of a bag - food for a week. To the melody of a telephone ringing on the other side of the pedestrian crossing, the receiver of call immediately picks up, joyful bustle and an accelerated step driven by emotions. The running of the small paws of a tiny dog overtaking its owner, who is dissatisfied with animal activity.
To a group of people returning from work, cheerfully greeting the end of the working day. Makoto rejoiced in the same way, more for these people than for himself - his working day will not end soon... but while his city is full of movement and happy smiles, he sees that his overworking brings more than just standart political benefits - it brings happiness. Happiness that cannot be blown away by even a strong gust of summer wind.
And together with the city should he move, noticing out with the corner of his eye the lights turning on in high rising buildings, the silhouettes doing their home duties in the windows, the light-emitting diodes of advertisements shining slightly right into the eyes, the trembling sound of advertisements coming from the huge television screens... Makoto chuckled, jumping into one of the minibuses. His town goes home, once again choosing Kanai Ward as a place where to meet a sweet dream, as a home to share with loved ones.
Half-empty transport. The driver shook his hand kindly, surprising Makoto with a firm grip. What an unusual greeting. He couldn`t say the answer to the question where is he going. In general, he had never ridden on such a transport, he only signed documents for its arrangement... comfortable seats, terrifying speed...
"Why are you driving by yourself if Kanai Ward`s transport is automated?" The blonde guy asked timidly, sitting down slightly behind the man and curiously studying the salon from a distance.
Amaterasu tried to make transportation as affordable as possible, to the point that residents could own cars without having to pass a driving license. Knowing how to drive... was no longer necessary. And judging by the surprise in Yuma’s voice when he first heard about it, Makoto could guess that such technologies were not common outside their city. This was another thing that makes them stand out. Although it was very comfortable and Makoto thinks that everyone has to have such transport...
"Why? " The man thought in slight confusion without showing it, "Well, because I like it. The city is small, I’ve driven around it easily, I even want to turn this athlete into a tourist transport! We have a lot of tourists here lately. They like this city. I just can’t think of a program..."
“The program?..” Makoto smiled timidly, getting up from his seat and approaching the driver, joining the brainstorming, “Actually we might have one... Do you know a charming girl that works part-time in the library? We somehow got into a conversation with her... it turns out that she completed studies special for conducting excursions. She is also... passionate with similar idea".
“Mr. Makoto”, The driver laughed, slowing down and glancing briefly at the CEO involved in the conversation, “I don’t want to cause you any inconvenience. I guess it`s too much of work for you as well. All the documents, we know you busy without all this.."
“But the idea... is good,” the CEO became frustrated, “I’ll sign a couple of papers, it`s not problem at all... just do what you feel like”.
The man glanced at the only passenger again, nodding his head slightly. It was impossible not to notice simple, human joy in his wrinkled because of age eyes. And this made Makoto feel warmer in chest
"The final stop, Mr. Makoto. It`s an unusual place to see the CEO in. Something connected to work as well?"
"No, no, just the opposite, I..." Hesitation "Actually, it doesn’t matter... thank you for the ride! I will be waiting for your visit. Well... see you soon".
“You’re a good person after all, yes...” The man said with a thoughtful smile and, nodding, turned away from the confused passenger back to the steering wheel. The man waved his hand, letting the CEO out of the minibus and closing the doors behind him with one press of a button. Announcement of the next station... tire tracks stretching into the distance.
A good person.
The guy went out to the playground. A sound of childish, high-pitched laughter immediately reached his ears, and he looked at sweet picture of children playing with toys. For them, under the ever-rainy sky, a whole story was now being born, more like the universe. Battles, dramas, showdowns, wildest fantasies and naive feelings.
Smile. Makoto looked around, expecting to see one of the adults, but finding no one, he tensed, realizing that the children were unattended. But no matter how worried he was, he had no right to interrupt the birth of new universes happening before his eyes. Makoto quietly sat down on a swing made of special materials, the rusty chains which had recently had to be replaced. It has its result. The soft, non-harmful cover spread across the entire area was completely trampled. Kids are using this playground, composing their crazy stories with friends.
After five minutes of wandering in his own thoughts, the children were finally taken away, to the displeased exclamations of the children themselves and their paused universes. One of the boys who had been playing before turned to Makoto, shouting a simple-minded: “Bye, Mister Makoto!” He immediately saw a polite nod from the woman picking up the children, who, as it turned out, had only now noticed his presence.
Another mutual smile.
Another question thrown into the boundless ocean: was he ever a naive and simple boy? Just like this, carelessly playing with other kids, offended in his heart at a caring parent who calls for dinner. What did their family look like, what books did they like to re-read until the pages were worn out?
Makoto frowned painfully, taking his phone out of his jacket pocket and placing the umbrella on the softly covered asphalt. Sometimes he really wanted to know about this. Why so - he still did not understand. Perhaps what really upset him was that he never had a fulfilling life. Only three years of artificially created existence. As if only he could find “1” signed with disdain in his contacts, he would really feel better. If he tells what their innocent childhood was like. Perhaps even how was the crazy teenage period that Makoto listened to with such agony from Furio. What was like Their fate as a detective... and why will only he always have so many more stories to tell than Makoto? But most of all now he was worried about another question:
“Has there always been... an ocean within them?”
"Is it possible for children to forever want to remain children, and adults to forever attend routine work?.. Did he want to remain Number One forever?.."
He thinks that`s can`t be true. No matter how little his city and the feelings lived within local residents change, human nature will never be satisfied with hopeless constancy. Even if at some point there will be no resident left in Kanai Ward, if everyone, like Yuma with Kurumi and the detectives, without whom he could not free the city from the onslaught of the unjust police, will leave the city for new sensations. Adventures. Knowledges.
And then they will return home. And the waves in the ocean will stop forever, not leaving even a slight disturbance. Words of gratitude, love, anger, resentment, understatement - everything, sooner or later here will turn into unbearable silence. Which even the rain that soothes Makoto on restless nights cannot cope with.
"Mister Makoto! Are you finished with your business?" A familiar voice reached him from the side of the road. The cheerful driver who brought him here waved to him.
“No,” the CEO said unexpectedly firmly, “I don`t think i`ll ever be ready to finish. Are we going back?"
Makoto smiled, picking up the gifted umbrella from the asphalt and slowly approaching the man who stood in confusion. The doors closed again and the announcement of the next stop sounded again. And the blonde guy once again looked out the window, looking through attentively at every native and only familiar alley of the city. It doesn't matter what kind of life he had. Even if Makoto will accidentally remember in more detailed way silhouettes floating in blurry images in his head from "past life", he is unlikely to be able to relate them to himself. Only this city was familiar to him. It was the only life he lived through and he was more than happy with the people of this city, whose names and preferences he tried to remember and remembered with a smile.
"Mr. Makoto, my wife and I spend our days discussing... everything that happened".
“Yes?..” the guy noticeably tensed, turning his gaze to the driver who had decided to share something that was tormenting him in the way similiar to Makoto`s.
"To no longer be human... it’s not as difficult as it turned out, but... we both still can’t get used to the idea of immortality. Frankly, this scares us all. More precisely, it scared us,” the man softened his tone, not noticing the anxiety walking in Makoto’s eyes, “But we found the answer”.
"Which is? " the CEO asked with his heart stopping in his chest, for some reason terribly afraid to hear the “answer.” He just wanted to keep these people alive. The truth ringing in his temples, which had never before arisen in his thoughts, only further dispersed the waves moving inside him. No one asked for such a life, for a life of freaks. And gradually the spare of oxygen runned out.
“It’s not that important,” the driver continued with interest, clearly proud of the productivity of the discussions helded at home, “while we live, work, raise our children, watch these funny programs from the States guys”, the man chuckled, “We need to think more about life. And the present. Do you see what I mean, Mr. Makoto?"
“I... understand,” Makoto answered automatically, thereby supporting the monologue. And he was again pushed to the surface.
"Essentially, nothing has changed. It’s a pity, actually” good-natured laughter, “I don’t know what homunculi should have in particular, but a second pair of hands definitely wouldn’t hurt. In your official language, it would be called “multitasking”!"
“Multitasking,” Makoto echoed, immediately bursting into laughter.
"I'm glad I could cheer you up. Have a nice day... oh, and one more thing,” the man hesitated, taking out a paper from the bag slung over his shoulder, “Permission!” We discussed it with you on the way here. I managed to get to that girl... She was happy. Now we are both looking forward to..."
"I wish a nice day to you too", the CEO smiled politely and gratefully, taking the paper and quickly running his eyes over it. "...endless business…".
"Endless responsibilities," the man breathed in support. "How wonderful you are, Life".
Makoto looked at the driver in surprise, wanting to remember the phrase he just said for a longer time. The simplest and most common "answer". As simple as the trust that Yuma had told him about.
It turns out that the residents needed to be trusted not only in matters relating to politics, economics, and the improvement of their common city... but also in such ordinary, everyday things.
The scary emptiness will not appear in his Kanai Ward soon. The process of deafening emptiness will form here, dispersing human feelings and Makoto`s numerous documents with a merciless wind of absolutely nothing, will not be going soon. Who knows, maybe Kanai Ward will live for another hundred years or more...
With the raindrops hitting the umbrella and the lights turning off in some of the windows, absolutely everything was stored. Everything that was dear to Makoto and the residents whom he swore to protect, no matter what...
And this “everything” was located further than any shore, and did not require a life preserver and his endless worries. Far from boundless ocean.
Thanks for reading :) in gonna write things for raincode this month, so stay tuned!
(english is not my native language so you could see at least problems with sentences construction it can look a little bit reversed im sorry in advance)
"He" in cursive is a reference to No. 1

Round 1
Propaganda under the cut
Shiv Roy
She's honestly kind of a canonical victim of yaoi almost. She and her husband Tom have a loveless marriage but never end up getting divorced. Tom has a weird psychosexual obsession with Shiv's cousin Greg and at one point literally compares them all to the time Emperor Nero pushed his wife down the stairs and then castrated and married a slave boy named Sporus (Tom is unwell). Anyway the show just ended and long story short Tom is now CEO of Shiv's family's evil company and she is reduced to being his pregnant wife (which is the result of her voting not to authorize either of her brothers as CEO in order to save them from themselves) and Tom made another weird comment about literally owning Greg. And now people who ship Tom and Greg are like "omg it's canon we won" but I don't. Think that they did. Sorry I'm rambling it was just a really good finale idek if this counts but
I will be honest I'm not really tuned into the tomgreg fandom, but tons of people wanted tom to leave shiv and get with greg and tons of people thought shiv was the devil incarnate and refused to see any nuance in her character and I don't think those two things are a coincidence.
She gets a lot of hate from fans, largely just for being a woman who reacts in a non pretty way to abuse and for doing the exact same shitty stuff her brothers do. But also a large part of the hate she gets comes from the people who ship her husband with her cousin. To the point where people claim she's abusing her husband who views her as an accessory, a baby factory, and a ticket to money. Don't get me wrong, their relationship is incredibly toxic and unhealthy, but it is so on both of their parts. But Shiv's the only one who gets criticized for it
Kyoko Kirigiri
The anime series Danganronpa 3's ending somewhat implied she and Makoto are a couple but the fandom likes to ship Makoto with Byakuya much more. The same anime series also saw a lot of hatred against her character and well, it was already there because people also complain about how she acted in the original Danganronpa Trigger Happy Havoc game as well, unfairly in my opinion. She's really cool and really smart and just isn't the quickest to trust people, which makes sense considering she's in fucking death games. Her deduction skills and strategy played a big part in saving the people who did make it out BOTH times she was in killing games and in one of those cases she was even willing to potentially sacrifice herself for it. I'll stop now but she is my most mistreated fave
arguably the most important character in the game but gets tossed aside a lot because of the two male leads byakuya and the main guy (dont even remember his name ngl) and she is so pretty and cool and smart and i love her so yeah <3

Ei chapter 2 complete as well.
I actually started getting quite into it, to the point that I got really mad when we got to the last third or so. Once I'm invested, my annoyance at the writing also grows, haha.
Anyway, my opinion is not too different than when I played the first time, though I cared more about the first two thirds this time because I do kind of feel warmer toward Ei now. Ah, Miyuki Sawashiro...
But also, I stand by my opinion that Ei has the one and only fully presented character arc in all of Genshin (through the end of Sumeru, but I doubt Fontaine actually managed this either). We see where she starts, we learn why she believes as she does, we do a cool but meaningful thing to change her mind, we see her come to understand and change her perspective, then she shows the changes in her point of view and even does a cool thing to prove her new resolve. All the steps are there, properly displayed. Low bar, and yet.
Anyway, the first two thirds, up until the second fight with the Shogun, were at least fine, maybe even verging on good. (Yes, the act 1+2 issue still exists, but that's just something we have to ignore.) The issues really start in the last third.
There's a lot of comparatively small things, for example with the nature of the Shogun and how they address it (and also how long they take to address it, we did not need that many textboxes of Ei and the puppet patting each other on the back about how cool they both are), plus stuff like Makoto's ghost appearing at the end (Ei already resolved herself, she doesn't need this?? and it's just the Rukkhadevata thing again?? do you guys only have this many ideas to work with...). But the biggest issue that I just cannot get over and which really ruins the entire quest for me is the goddamn Lore.
Genshin in general tends to be Really Bad at integrating their long term Lore(tm) into the ongoing storylines. That's why all the stuff with the visions is so forced in Inazuma and in the Chasm. They needed to shove it in as 4shadowing for lore stuff we haven't reached yet, but they're not capable of doing it smoothly. You get the same issue with the Sakura.
There is no reason, at all, for the Sakura to have been in-universe retconned into existence. You could do the entire quest and all of Inazuma with the premise that the Sakura grew immediately when Ei returned from Khaenri'ah 500 years ago and not god knows when in the past, and NOTHING would change. Just say it sprouted from her sister's consciousness out of the wish to help her and protect Inazuma from beyond the grave, right there and then. That's fine! It's enough!
But you see, they need to namedrop Ishtaroth.
So we get this convoluted mess with the whole "time is uncertain" and the retconning. Which, incidentally, they don't seem to understand why that kind of story aspect would be used... Ei returned to the exact same nation she left behind, seemingly with NO difference whether or not the Sakura existed for those millennia. Scaramouche erased himself, Rukkha erased herself, and yet there are NO changes in the world state except some names in historical records. So why do it?? And it's not like we are there for those historical events and seeing the changes to them in the past either?? So this is all just pointless. Everyone's existence is pointless, since whether or not they're there makes no difference at all... what the heck is this...
Anyway, the last third combines the issue of the dragged out Shogun confrontation, the magic tree retcon nonsense, and Makoto's pointless "all according to keikaku" cameo, making is extremely weak and ruining the impact of the otherwise fairly good earlier sections.
But at least we're finally rid of the storm and Sakoku. Inazuma is almost done...

After the trip known as chapter 6, things have seemed to simmer down a bit (with the exception of a fake out sometime during chapter 7). Anyways, here we go...
Missing Man has an actual name and face now (sort of; it's just a police sketch)! His name was Minoru Tsuzuki, aged 25 years at the time of the Serial Girl Murders. The sketch we get of him is the same one that flashes on screen for a split second in the launch trailer for the game
(yeah this one)
Like I said before, there was a fake out in chapter 7 that really got me lol. Basically Fukuyama showed up in almost the exact same drip as Mystery Dude and I legit thought Mystery Dude got Ayumi but nah.
The polaroids we kept seeing in the marketing were actually of a young Makoto and Junko! I don't have much else to say about this other than my god my theories are aging like milk as I continue playing through this game lmfaoooo
There's apparently like a fuck ton of Smiling Man legend variants and it most likely stemmed from a 30 year old story that has nothing about killing sad girls but still features a smiling bag mask. It's apparently a sad story. I have nothing else to say about this except for COME ON I WANNA KNOW HOW THE LEGEND STARTED ALREADY!!!
I ended up getting stuck in a few places during this session so I had to look up a guide online :(
Fortunately I didn't accidentally find out about the rest of the story so it's all good. I also found out I'm more than halfway through the story at this point! Since I have a 3 day weekend because of labor day maybe I can finish this game before big run happens in Splatoon 3!
So that's everything that I got. I'm gonna pick this up tomorrow. If I managed to get through this many chapters today I have a feeling that I can finish this tomorrow maybe. Idk.

Damn, Horikoshi really missed the mark on that one. Now! Quirk Time!
Starting with Makoto her quirk’s an emitter-mutant type with similarities to Bato and Ashido. It has 3 main aspects
1. Slime Production/Excretion
2. Slime Characteristics
3. Mutations
Starting with production and excretion, Makoto produces slime internally, likely similar to sweat but held in some sort of storage. Once it’s released and comes in contact with the air it expands into its full size and gains its known properties, namely being sticky and squishy. The production of this substance probably falls to the quirk factor, but the raw materials needed to power and supply the quirk means Makoto likely needs either specific nutrients or simply a higher food intake.
The slime itself is an interesting substance, expanding on contact with air to explain the sheer volume needed without breaking the skin or being formed outside the body directly by her quirk. It also is quite squishy, which makes sense considering it’s likely quite light after expansion. As it continues to be exposed to the outside temperature the slime begins to crystallize. Since this crystallization is reliant on temperature it likely starts from the outer edges, almost seeming to dry out until it’s formed a solid shell over the squishy interior. From there the process would naturally slow down unless the crystallization spreads itself, shaping the slime under it into a solid. This solid would need to be almost the exact same volume or the pressure would cause strain on the material, weakening it. The crystallization process also likely removes the sticky properties of the original slime. Once solidified it can be broken into jagged edges, becoming an easy weapon or trap for anyone stuck inside.
Lastly are the basic mutations Makoto likely has. To start with the most obvious we have the hair, a blob of non-crystalline jelly that isn’t mentioned to grow when her quirk is used. This is likely a vestigial mutation from an ancestor that mixed with her quirk, preventing it from hardening. Weather this is due to being a different material or the top of her head being a different temperature and slowing the process, mixed with a constant growth to make up for fallen crystals is entirely up for interpretation. Her eyes are a similar mutation, having nothing to do with her slime but retaining unique characteristics of quirks. Another one tied to her quirk is Makotos body becoming less solid after too much use. While this could easily be due to being Made of slime somehow, the lack of characteristics similar to her hair makes that unlikely. It’s far more likely this is yet another mutation mixing with her quirk to change her bodies properties when lacking the energy to hold a more solid form. This would imply her human form is actually something maintained, weather intentionally or not, and her melted form is closer to a “true form”. Other mutations that aren’t obvious but are pretty likely include better water retention to make up for the liquids lost to slime creation, larger pores for faster excretion, and a modified outer layer of skin to prevent damage from crystallization and keep slime from sticking to her quite as much.
Now on to Yugo!
Yugo has a touch based transformation quirk that “reads” whatever they're touching and transforms the outer layer of skin into a similar substance. Now this guy has Also 3 parts to his quirk!
1. Reading materials
2. Transformation/How he functions
4. Mutations
The initial reading of each material requires skin contact, and from there his quirk can copy it. This reading is probably done through taking a sample through the skin rather than some quirk nonsense, since otherwise the quirk would likely read the interior as well and force an alloy of the different materials. We know this Isn’t being done by the mention of organic materials like wood and people. If it was reading the insides and creating an alloy the material would be off, especially when reading animals. As to the how, my guess is by absorbing a microscopic sample from the outside edge that’s touched, and the chemical structure is replicated.
Now for the transformation itself. Makoto apparently requires concentration to keep up their transformation, and internals struggle to be fully changed. This implies that transformation doesn’t impede inner processes, but still changes their material. How could this be? Well it could be less an exact copy and more so an approximation of the copied material. This new substance would need to be quirk enhanced and increadibly complicated to avoid disrupting the squishy stuff and keep up its function, as well as be far more bendy than the outer layer that more closely matches the original substance. This complexity would explain why concentration is needed, as the energy drain required means the quirk wants to back off. The outer layers of the body would likely more closely resemble the original material, but would need some minor modification to prevent joints from locking up or complications from the lack of pores on his new skin.
Now for the mutations!
Makoto doesn’t display any visible mutations but would require a more efficient internal system that could rely on resource reserves for certain bodily functions that might be impeded from transforming into different materials. Another big one are modified eyes that can resist scratches from his quirk changing the eyelids into a less fleshy substance. This might impact vision without an extra mutation making up for it. Beyond that Makoto remains remarkably unchanged with this iteration of his quirk. The joys of a transformation quirk
If you have anything you wanna add feel free to, I love adjusting theories and figuring out the mechanics of how a characters quirk would work
OMG?! LOOK AT THESE UNUSED MHA CHARACTERS?!?! 😲😲😲
I wonder why horikoshis never used them 🤔🤔🤔

Free! The Final Stroke fundown rundown
I just came out here for fun swim times, and now Haru’s evil.
Ok, I’m just gonna post things as I remember them.
Spoilers, obviously. And this gets really long. Have a snack ready.
As a warning, my Japanese isn’t fantastic, so I may have missed some things or misinterpreted some things (though, to toot my own horn a bit, I understood a lot more with this film than with other raw Japanese movies I’ve watched). Also, at this point it’s been several hours since I saw the show, and my memory is shit. Take anything I say here with a grain of salt.
So.
Movie starts off cute, with Nagisa, Rei, Makoto, and Rin making some kind of video about (for?) Haru. I think it took place in the past? Because Haru, Makoto, and Rin are in their high school uniforms, so I think maybe this takes place before Dive to the Future. Maybe.
There’s a childhood flashback with Hiyori and Kaede. Seems Hiyori is actually the one who got Kaede into swimming, though Hiyori ended up moving before they ever got a chance to swim together. If I understood right, Kaede’s family member(???) was also a swimmer. And in fact, because of stuff that’s shown later in the movie, I think it’s strongly hinted that the friend that Coach Azuma lost in his past was Kaede’s family member(???).
There’s some stuff with a school festival, but it must be joint because Haru/Asahi’s university and Ikuya/Hiyori’s university are both involved. Rin and Sosuke go and Rin and Ikuya tease each other relentlessly, then run off to compete against each other at a game booth.
And that’s all well and cute.
The bulk of the story takes place in Australia, with Haru, Rin, Ikuya, and Kaede (and Kaede’s friend, who’s name I forget, but apparently is a crazy strong breaststroke swimmer) representing Japan in an international tournament. Stuff happens, Rin and Ikuya both lose their matches (in butterfly and breast, with Ikuya losing to that friend of Kaede’s).
Before Haru’s match, he and Kaede are in the locker room. Albert comes in; Kaede tries to rile him up and is blatantly ignored. Albert says straight up to Haru, “I’m not swimming for fun today. I’m just here to do my job.” D=
Haru swims against Kaede and Albert, and swims so hard he can’t catch his breath afterwards and falls down a flight of stairs (no worries! Ikuya catches him). Albert wins, but Haru does qualify for the next round. At some point, Haru yells at Azuma about how to get stronger? But I didn’t really understand that bit.
For the next race (the next day), Albert drops out for unknown reasons. He gets shit for it later from that old guy who controls him (father? grandfather? caretaker? idk). It’s clear that Old Guy is using Albert for sponsorship money and to live vicariously through him. I don’t know which is worse.
So Kaede gets bronze in that race. Haru doesn’t place. Everyone goes back to Japan.
Meanwhile!
While all that is going on, it also frequently cuts to what the others are doing in Japan. Makoto has basically taken on coaching Sousuke, and they spend nearly the entire movie together. Asahi, Hiyori, and Kisume also spend much of the movie together, streaming the events in Australia and talking about the future and stuff.
And in a scene that is a clear callback to the rainy poolside scene in Eternal Summer, where Haru, Rin, and Makoto talk about what they’re going to do after graduation, there’s a scene with Rei, Nagisa, and Gou by the poolside, in the rain, talking about what they’re going to do after graduation. Sounds like they all have a plan, but if specifics of those plans were mentioned, I didn’t catch it. But they all looked happy and positive about their futures.
And at some point, Sousuke, Makoto, and Hiyori have a backstroke race. Hiyori wins, though they don’t actually show him winning (-_-); they just show pictures of the batsu game Sousuke and Makoto had to do because they lost (dressing up and taking obnoxiously cute photos).
With everyone back in Japan, there’s lots of talking and... stuff. Then they all go back to their hometowns for New Year’s. There’s a scene of Haru and Makoto in that place where the fireworks scene took place in Eternal Summer, and Makoto is about to tell Haru something, but then his phone rings and he remembers that he promised his siblings he would do something with them, so he runs off, leaving Haru alone.
There’s also a scene of Ikuya and Asahi swimming alone in a pool at night. They praise each other’s swimming, saying how they’ve both been impressed with one another since middle school.
And there’s a scene with Hiyori in Kyoto (looks like he’s at Kiyomizudera, but it’s night time and is that place open at night??), and Kaede approaches him. They talk.
Haru goes to Iwatobi Elementary and is standing under that sakura tree when Rin finds him. Haru talks about how they’ll challenge the international tournament next year, and they can do it! because they’ll be together. Rin tells him that he and Ikuya both have decided not to participate next year; they’re going to go pro instead. Haru gets really upset, because they’re abandoning him and he’ll be all alone.
Then he gets possessed by the ghost of Albert and basically tells Rin to piss off and that he doesn’t need him or anyone anymore.
The end! To be continued in seven months! =D
Other bits:
Though the character count has exploded, I felt there was a good balance between showing what everyone was up to, while still keeping the focus on Haru, as the main character.
60% of the movie was flashbacks to stuff that happened throughout the entire series. Saving money on animation, or trying to hammer in the memories before the grand finale? You decide.
Flashbacks also includes the animation from the original commercial that started this all. =D
The English voice actors for Albert and Old Guy can not act for shit. >_< It’s so jarring.
I’m pretty sure I didn’t hear any OLDCODEX. I knew they were on hiatus; I didn’t think they’d pull the song from the movie at the last minute. (Unless that was them, and it’s a totally new style than what we’re used to.)
If you’re here for the shipping, you’re going to be disappointed. There was very little.
There was a preview for the next movie, but literally the only thing I remember is “REI~!! <3″
They also showed the main image for the next movie, which is almost the exact same as this movie’s (see above), except instead of looking pissy, Haru’s expression is incredibly soft.
The end~!

I fell in love with these postcards from the Girl’s Night Out popup cafe the moment I saw them! I knew I had to get my hands on them, and the lovely @blaze-rocket was able to help that happen.
I cannot get over how perfect these postcards are. To me, this is what Sailor Moon is; a testament to the little moments from the series that made us fall in love with the characters, especially how their personal preferences were reflected in their fashion choices. In a world of merch where it’s easy to just slap a random crescent moon on something pink and say “look, it’s Usagi,” the designer responsible for these graphics went the extra mile to take imagery from the show itself that needles its way deep into our nostalgia-cortexes.
How many references do you recognise? Quiz yourself against this comprehensive (image-heavy) list! 👇
The inners’ postcards all reference the eye-catching sign for Game Center Crown, the iconic arcade where Motoki Furuhata worked and the gang would all congregate to play games and share information.
Starting in R they switched to hanging out at Fruits Parlor Crown, a cafe attached to the arcade staffed by Motoki’s sister Unazuki, which the Inners’ postcards all also reference. They would often get brightly-coloured drinks there, but the drinks pictured on these postcards seem to specifically line up with the real drinks available at the Girls Night Out popup cafe.
Sailors Neptune, Uranus, and Pluto’s postcards all reference “Café Étrangère,” which was the name of the cafe they were seen dining at in the Sailor Moon S movie. Even the logo is replicated faithfully from a scene only a few seconds long.
All the girls’ clothes are hanging on coat hangers shaped like Luna/Artemis/Diana.
Ami / Sailor Mercury’s references:
Ami’s casual outfit is an unusual choice since she only wore it a handful of times over the entire series, and half the times she wore it, it was given a different colour scheme with a green jacket instead of the yellow version pictured here.
Her “mini data computer” is her most iconic tool/weapon/accessory, revealed in episode 009, directly after her introduction.
The pink package is how Usagi and the other girls wrapped up her transformation stick and communicator watch as Ami’s going-away present in episode 062.
The ice cream may be a reference to the same episode, as she shared a cone with Chibi-Usa before she left, and returned to the store to protect her friends from the Droid Nihpasu.
The flash cards are a method Ami commonly used to help her study, and are particularly similar to the ones shown in the SuperS short “Ami’s First Love”.
Rei / Sailor Mars’s References:
Rei wore her casual outfit fairly frequently, starting and most notably in the beginning of the Sailor Moon R movie.
The small red o-mamori charm is from Hikawa Shrine, seen frequently but introduced in episode 010.
The paper ofuda ward was used frequently by Rei to fight evil, even before she could transform, but most notably in the attack sequence for “Akuryou, Taisan” (“Foul Spirit, Begone”).
To my knowledge the purple bag isn’t a specific reference, but Rei did throw a similar purse at a Cardian as a makeshift weapon in episode 048 before she got her Guardian memories back.
The gift-wrapped shopping boxes are the exact same ones as carried by Rei in the Sailor Moon Sailor Stars opening sequence before she trips and falls, right down to the patterns on the paper...
... which in itself may be a reference/callback to Rei’s tendency to make Yuuichirou carry her shopping (maybe so she doesn’t trip).
The phoenix-shaped pendant is a reference to episode 183; it’s made of glazed ceramic, crafted by Rei’s cousin Kengo Ibuki, given to her as a child after she convinced him not to smash it even though he his pottery a “failure”.
Makoto / Sailor Jupiter’s References:
Makoto didn’t start wearing her casual outfit until around S, but she wore it frequently after that, especially as she became more confident wearing “feminine” clothing. They even remembered her iconic gold wrist watch worn over her sleeve!
Her uniquely decorated bento bag debuted in episode 026, her introductory episode, along with the rounded green cutlery. The pouch has been featured a few more times since and its design is a mainstay in almost every Sailor Moon canon.
The teal hairtie and the rose-shaped earrings are two of Makoto’s iconic accessories, some of the only non-magical fashion accessories in the entire series to stay the same whether the character is transformed or not (the other being Minako’s infamous red bow). Her earrings also served a dual purpose as makeshift projectile weapons in episode 025.
The blue book is 月夜の天馬 (Tsukiyo no Tenma, “The Moonlit Pegasus”), a novel which was written by Tomoko Takase and introduced in epsode 134. Makoto knew Tomoko from her old middle school, before she transferred, and was the first one to read her first draft after retrieving it from bullies. She encouraged Tomoko to try and get it published. Makoto meets with her again and helps her overcome her writer’s block to finish her sequel, 天馬幻想 (Tenma Gensou, “Pegasus Fantasy”).
Minako / Sailor Venus’s References:
This is one of Minako’s most-worn casual outfits, especially if you consider the additional outfits based off it. Despite its prevalence, she didn’t start wearing it until the beginning of S.
Minako’s red hair ribbon is her most iconic accessory, but did you know why she started wearing it? The Codename: Sailor V prequel manga explains that she started wearing the ribbon instead of her usual red hairtie on the suggestion of her “first crush” Higashi. But when he turns out to be an enemy in disguise, she decides she looks good with a ribbon anyway, and keeps wearing it for her own benefit.
The red mask is a reference to Minako’s role as Sailor V before joining the team as Sailor Venus. Sailor V was known as a mysterious vigilante superhero and a fictional video game character as early as episode 001, but in episode 033 Minako revealed herself to the rest of the Sailor Team, dramatically removing her mask one final time.
Minako was known to be a skilled volleyball player, especially in the manga, and it was especially relevant in episode 100 where she had to delicately return the serve of an energy sphere containing the Pure Heart of her old volleyball crush, Asai.
The sign with Minako’s name can be seen hanging off the front of her bedroom door in episode 192.
[Manga scan courtesy of Miss Dream.]
Usagi / Sailor Moon’s References:
Usagi wore this outfit in the Sailor Moon R movie, making it a memorable choice. Although the movie aired roughly midway through R, Usagi didn’t start to wear this outfit casually again until the S season.
Usagi is shown eating a lot of food, especially sweets, but she seems to have a particular fondness for crepes, snacking on them in several different episodes.
In episode 143 we can see that Usagi is very technologically trendy - for the times. She’s carrying that blue-and-pink pager which she and Mamoru use to contact each other by way of goroawase, that is, deciphering messages based on the different pronunciations of numbers, a precursor to modern texting. Mamoru pages her the numbers 84 51, which could be read as hachi yon go ichi; reading only the first syllables, and substituting go for the related sound ko, Usagi would interpret the message as hayo koi, which sounds a bit like “come quick” - she’s late for their date. Oops!
By the way, pagers were often called “pocket bells” (pokeberu) in Japan, and became so rapidly popular they even found their way into the lyrics of Rashiku Ikimasho, the ending song for the SuperS season; 「泣きたい時には ポケベルならしてよんで、戦士の休息」 [Nakitai toki ni wa POKEBELL narashite yonde, senshi no kyuusoku] “If you feel like crying, send a page thru the Pocket Bell, take a break from [being a] Guardian”
Chibi-Usa / Sailor Chibi Moon’s References:
Chibi-Usa doesn’t technically have a school uniform, but her casual clothes are often styled after sailor suits as a reflection of both her idolisation of the figure of “Sailor Moon” and of her desire to be seen as older and more mature than she appears. She changes “uniforms” every season, and this pinafore outfit is the version she wears in SuperS. She wore the other outfit in the SuperS premiere episode.
The handgun is from episode 060, Chibi-Usa’s introduction to the series and arguably one of the most iconic absurdist scenes in all of Sailor Moon. The gun itself is actually a toy, probably a transformation of the Luna-P sphere, which Chibi-Usa uses to try and threaten Usagi into giving her the Legendary Silver Crystal. When she “shoots” Usagi, the bullet is revealed to be nothing but a suction-cup flower, also pictured. (By the way, if you were wondering, Chibi-Usa’s fake gun is based on a real Colt M1911A1.) She transforms the Luna-P into a toy gun to shoot Sailor Moon again in the Sailor Moon R movie, this time as a way to motivate Usagi to fight.
The Luna-P sphere was a mysterious gadget Chibi-Usa kept with her for the duration of R and parts of S. It’s unknown where it came from, but it could be assumed to have been created from advanced 30th century technology. It was a combination toy and tool which could transform itself into a variety of objects, formulas, and even weapons, though none were shown to be particularly powerful. It could also be used to communicate with Sailor Pluto at the Time-Space Door. When Chibi-Usa was manipulated into becoming Wicked Lady in episode 085, the Luna-P sphere also transformed into an “evil” and much more dangerous version.
The Space-Time Key was a special tool given to her by Sailor Pluto that allowed her to travel between the past and the future, though it was difficult for her to wield effectively.
The sunhat was given to Chibi-Usa by Ikuko, so she treasured it greatly. In episode 112 it got blown away and was retrieved by Hotaru Tomoe, which allowed her to meet Chibi-Usa and marked the beginning of their close friendship.
The blue-and-red package was a gift containing two manga books (”Drop Drop” vol. 1 & 2 by Ukon Katakuri) which Chibi-Usa intended to give to her new friend Hotaru in episode 113.
In episode 127, Chibi-Usa returned home to the future, and the girls all made her some going-away gifts. Ami made her a floppy disk (lol) to help her study, Rei made her a casette tape (double lol) of her music, Makoto packed her a lunch, and Minako made her a photo album of their time together. Usagi hand-sewed Chibi-Usa the rabbit-shaped backpack using a real outfit she used to love when she was a child.
Michiru / Sailor Neptune’s References:
This is a somewhat unusual choice for Michiru’s casual outfit, as she only wore it for two episodes, and that’s only because they made up a two-part story. But perhaps because the episodes were so pivotal - with Haruka and Michiru almost learning Usagi’s true identity - the outfit itself became more memorable.
Not only do they include Michiru’s violin, but they included the lemon she bounced off the instrument as she played to show off her skills in episode 093.
The teacup, teaspoon and saucer are the same set Michiru was seen drinking from at Fruits Parlor Crown in episode 094.
Michiru and Haruka both reference episode 095, where they had to enter a “true love” contest as part of their investigation. The contestants were asked to find their partner’s hand in an anonymous lineup, and Haruka was able to identify Michiru’s hand immediately.
Michiru used Haruka as a model for an illustration in her green sketchbook in episode 106.
Michiru’s Talisman is the Deep Aqua Mirror, revealed in episode 110 and used in her attack Submarine Reflection. She could also use it to receive prophetic visions. Visually, it was based on real-life art nouveau hand mirrors, and symbolically represented the mirror from the Three Sacred Treasures.
Haruka / Sailor Uranus’s References:
Conversely, Haruka wore this outfit a lot. Maybe more than she should’ve.
The teacup and saucer is the same set Haruka was seen drinking from at Fruits Parlor Crown in episode 094.
Haruka’s postcard also references the lovers contest in episode 095 (see above).
The purple scarf is from episode 096; Haruka was wearing it as a necktie when she almost ran into Makoto on her motorcycle. Haruka used the scarf to bandage Makoto’s road rash, which she returned later, though now smitten.
Not only is Haruka’s motorcycle included, they also referenced (one of) her car(s), the 1968 Toyota 2000GT.
Haruka’s Talisman is the Space Sword, revealed in episode 110 and used in her attack Space Sword Blaster. Symbolically it represented the sword from the Three Sacred Treasures.
Setsuna / Sailor Pluto’s References:
Setsuna didn’t have a school uniform, since she wasn’t a student, so she got to double-up on her casual outfits. Her mauve outfit is her most recognisable, wearing it so often it may as well have been her uniform. In fact, she was rarely seen wearing anything else until Sailor Stars, where she started experimenting with other outfits, including the Time Lord-esque suit on the right.
The potted plant is a Tellun, the energy-draining plant created by Tellu in episode 121. Setsuna was investigating it when it attempted to attack her, but she was protected by her Talisman, the Garnet Orb (also pictured, representing the jewel in the Three Sacred Treasures). She then went on to destroy the remaining Tellun plants and defeat Tellu with the help of Sailor Moon, Sailor Chibi Moon, and Tuxedo Mask.
The teacup and saucer are the same set Setsuna is seen drinking from at Cafe Etranger in the Sailor Moon S movie.
In episode 182, the girls are discussing the mysterious arrival of Chibi Chibi while eating ice cream on a hot summer’s day. Setsuna appears out of nowhere to confirm their suspicions... carrying that popsicle of her own.
Hotaru / Sailor Saturn’s References:
Hotaru tended to wear the same thing, mostly all-black, but she did occasionally adventure into rich colours like this bottle green two-piece outfit and iconic raspberry beret.
The sunhat belonged to Chibi-Usa; it symbolises the beginning of their friendship, when Hotaru caught it after it blew away in episode 112.
Chibi-Usa gave Hotaru the rabbit backpack in episode 116, using it to pass a note inviting her on a picnic.
Hotaru collects lamps, and the two referenced here are seen in her bedroom, which she keeps dimly lit to manage her pain.
The window might seem random, but it was random in the series, too - it’s one of the curtained window which looks out from Hotaru’s bedroom, and when a Daimon experiment goes terribly wrong in episode 118 and transforms her house into a Bamboozled-like inter-dimensional maze, one window overlooks a vast ocean while the other overlooks a strange jungle.
Hotaru’s weapon as Sailor Saturn is the Silence Glaive. It’s said that she possesses enough power to destroy the world with a single drop of her scythe.
That’s it! You made it! How many references did YOU know? 🌙
#sailor moon#long post#I couldn't have done this the easy way. I couldn't have just posted the pictures and been like 'ooh look pretty'.#it was fun though and I actually learned some things in the process#I feel like I slipped through time somehow and designed these for Toei and then blacked it from my memory#again: sincere apologies to those on mobile

" why are you flinching, i haven't hurt you. " yet. kazuya doesn't say that he wouldn't hurt aoki / he would, intentional or not. sometimes, kazuya knows, that shit happens and he can't control himself. when teenagers are upset / angry, they release their stressors one of two ways: they hurt themselves or someone else. kazuya knows himself well enough to know that he's not beyond hurting both. " i'm not going to hurt you. "
slowly, kazuya breathes out, no longer applying pressure to aoki's chest as he rocks himself back again, yawning softly before gaze flickers towards the clock on the wall. practice is almost over. ( seirin. kirisaki daiichi. makoto and shuuzou runs practice on nearly the exact same time table. ) really, he should be going, but kazuya has nowhere to go but one depressing house or another. unlike shuuzou, kazuya doesn't have a boyfriend to run off to. ( he could go see his best friend, but he won't. he hates it when ryou sees him like this. )
" yes, i meet his needs. " tired / detached. " it's your fault you don't know him, nobody told you to let him fuck so soon. " but the way shuuzou views sex, aoki should learn on his own. shoulders roll as he sits himself up, back straightening as he remains atop the other, eyes closing as feels anger from before sap at his energy. he hates being like this, actually. " aoki, " kazuya says the name suddenly, but quietly, head tilted down once more to look at him, " i don't like being like this, don't bring me out of my character. i don't like it, but i don't mind it, either. you really will be the only one paying for it after the fact. "
he flinches when kazuya wipes away tears at water-line, and breaks his gaze away from him. he's lying / he's lying / he's lying. ( he wouldn't have slept with him if aoki knew this type of terror resided inside of him. ) tears and terror well inside of him, and they roll down cheeks as aoki cries silently. kazuya all but coos out a response -- in a way that aoki is reminded a parent explaining something to a child, ( don't put your hand on the stove, it's hot. ) " and you meet his needs ? " soft / questioning. what fucking needs / he wants to ask. kazuya tells him that he doesn't know shuuzou -- and of course not. he met him less than a month ago / fell into bed with him, not long after. he also knows shuuzou doesn't tell him things about himself / he's not allowed to call him 'shuu' or any variation of his name. it's shuuzou's fault that aoki doesn't know him and he says as much, voice wavering before he's shaking his head. no. " no. " he doesn't want to test it out / no he doesn't want to bet. shuuzou has left him before to wander off to kazuya when he's called and demanded his boyfriend's attention. he thinks -- knows -- shuuzou would probably take kazuya's side no matter what. ( he's known him longer / loves him more. people do stupid shit for love / aoki is a flickering flame compared to kazuya's house fire when it comes to shuuzou and his preferred way to set himself aflame. )

little things in v3 that make me appreciate the game slightly more (spoilers)
the fact that the two incest plotlines can directly be traced back to tsumugi, whose fantasy in her love hotel event deals with her and shuuichi being stepsiblings. the fact that brother-sister incest happens twice within this killing game (with korekiyo & miyadera, and monotaro & monophanie) could be just tsumugi trying to extend her incest fetish to the public.
tsumugi probably named monophanie that way because she knew that she wanted to make kaede the protagonist (at least for the first trial). monophanie sounds like monophony, a term in music that refers to a unified, completely homogenous sound, such as a single instrument in a piece, or every instrument playing the same exact melody.
tsumugi's place in the trial room is exactly where junko's was, right in front of monokuma. she wanted to copy junko's killing game so much that she wanted to take the role of being in her position.
because it's so ambiguous whether tsumugi ever says the truth at all during her entire confrontation, it's almost to the point where she doesn't even have her own identity, and tsumugi shirogane could just be another fictional character she made up for herself. she could have deliberately chosen to raise her voice and have blue hair to pay homage to sayaka, who technically started the killing game in the first place.
the monokubs all have different homages to various former contestants in the killing games. monokid is a guitar player like ibuki and has syo & junko's long tongue. monodam is a robot much like mechamaru, and his name could be a reference to gundam, while his attitude seems pretty similar to twogami's (wanting everyone to get along regardless of whether it's possible or not). monosuke has a gruff attitude similar to mondo, enjoys baseball like leon, and is associated with money like celes and togami. monophanie is sweet and shy but still obedient and cruel, like mikan and touko, and her color scheme brings monomi and chiaki to mind. monotaro has a scarf like gundam, uses throwing stars that bring to mind izayoi from dr3, and has a leadership quality to him like kiyotaka and twogami.
the monokubs have similar color schemes to the warriors of hope, with a few of them having similar traits to them. monotaro and masaru are both the "leaders" and hotheaded, and are orange-red. monophanie and kotoko are both submissive yet still scary, and are pink. monodam and monaca both control their friends and associates and become power hungry because of it, and are both green. monokid and nagisa don't have much at all in common, but are both blue. monosuke and jataro also don't have much in common, but are both associated with neutral tan colors.
tsumugi and the ultimate impostor both show up in this game, but tsumugi is impersonating them, which would probably be her dream -- she's essentially cosplaying a cosplayer who's cosplaying as someone with no identity.
tsumugi doesn't end up contributing a lot because she's an intern for team danganronpa -- she's not used to having a say in major decisions and big meetings, since she's low on the chain of employees.
you never actually see tsumugi's face in the shot of everyone after kaede's execution, probably because she was either smiling or just completely expressionless. she got away with murder by killing another person, and as such would probably be incredulous or ecstatic about the result of the first trial.
when kaede asks tsumugi about her favorite anime, she mentions hers, and her favorite episode of said anime is episode 53. she probably was lying here, and just said that number in a panic. she hadn't probably thought that far into her backstory as tsumugi.
tsumugi probably planned for shuuichi, maki, and himiko to still survive the school being destroyed, since she gave them some of the most emotional moments in the game, killing the people closest to them. shuuichi had the deaths of both kaede and kaito, maki had her breakdown after kaito's death, and himiko lost both angie and tenko within the same trial. it would make sense that she had planned for them to survive through the whole thing, even if kiibo kind of sidestepped her plan a bit.
at the end, before her execution, tsumugi seems actually pretty neutral about her plan failing, even saying that she's proud to have made a perfect copy of the original killing game's plan. this could mean that she intended for the entire thing to fall apart, bringing an audience surrogate, a masterful liar and criminal, and a gifted detective into the same season all together.
kaito's illness was either planned from the beginning, or implemented after tsumugi realized how close he and shuuichi had gotten, and how helpful kaito's been to him. kaede was an easier target because there was a believable reason to execute her in everyone else's eyes. kaito probably would have never killed if he hadn't been battling his illness, since he agrees to help ouma in chapter 5's plan knowing that his time is limited. tsumugi probably instilled a handicap on him, knowing that he was the most hopeful and optimistic of the characters besides kiibo, who she could easily manipulate since he was essentially just a standin for the audience itself.
the inclusion of the remnants of despair as a plot point for part of the game makes sense when tsumugi is revealed to have created the entire season. she's a huge fangirl and wanted to have a nod to the second game. it also would make sense as something that she would just randomly throw in as a means of fanservice to the audience.
the demo's whole gimmick of makoto, hajime, and hagakure being part of the game alongside the new characters is put in a new light after the reveal that the original games were just works of fiction in v3's universe. plus, it's implied that makoto and hajime are actors, which would make sense. technically speaking, everyone in v3 is an actor as well, and with tsumugi cosplaying as a bunch of previous characters in the final trial, chances are that the makoto and hajime actors aren't the original characters, merely portraying them.
tsumugi being the mastermind makes so much sense, and the theme of truth vs. lies makes sense in terms of her constant denial that fiction can't influence reality. as a big fan of danganronpa before becoming part of the games themselves, she's more than likely well aware of the effects that fiction can have on real life, and probably agrees with shuuichi deep down.
the parallels between tsumugi and junko are interesting, but the ways in which they die are the most. they're both crushed to death, and while junko's smiling the entire time (save for the very end, when the crusher stops momentarily, allowing her a bit of confusion as to why it isn't working before she dies), tsumugi is just blank the entire time. it goes to show how even though she got to live her dream and become her idol, she just didn't have the same dedication and devotion to the cause that junko did.
also, kokichi and tsumugi are both crushed, and both were suspected of being the masterminds, also being the representatives of two criminal groups. they're very good antitheses to one another when you start to compare and contrast the two.
i could keep going but honestly we'd be here for a while

Makoto being scared of the dark and Kyoko cuddling him to calm him down, because my sister can’t stop me writing what I love❤️:
Makoto curled up in a ball, shivering in his far too cold bed. It was 12:15 PM, and it was pitch black outside, and of course, there was a blackout.
Most people would have no problem with a blackout. They would just groan and wait patiently for their power to come back on, but not Makoto. Because there was a reason a small light sat next to his bed and was left on every single time the small boy went to sleep.
He was afraid of the dark. It brought back too many bad memories. And Makoto could barley handle them all.
He sniffled and sobbed as he hid his face in his hands, his shoulders stiffening even though no one had touched him by surprise.
And than someone knocked on his door, and they sounded worried as they frantically said his name.
“Makoto? Makoto!? It’s me! It’s Kyoko!”
The green eyed boy didn’t want her to come in. Him and Kyoko had started dating about two weeks ago. And imagine how embarrassed she would be knowing that her boyfriend, the ultimate hope, was scared of something as trivial as the dark.
“Makoto!? Mako, your doors locked! I can’t get in! Are you alright!?”
The detective was worried. What was wrong? Ever since she and Makoto had started dating she had began to care and worry for him more and more, and this was definitely concerning.
Without a second to waste she began picking the lock, and after many failed attempts, she got it open and rushed into her lover’s room, only to see him curled up on the floor, his hands over his face and his sobs filling the room with noise.
Kyoko had no idea what to do. She rarely even had to comfort people, and she was still so new to the whole relationship thing. And now she had to deal with her new and first boyfriend crying on the floor in the dark, and she had to find some way to help him.
“Uh.. Makoto? Are you alright?”
She knelt down beside him on the floor and tried to think of ways to calm him down. The silver haired girl eventually decided to pull him onto her lap and stroke his hair.
“What’s wrong, dear?” She asked, running her hands through his soft, light brown hair.
“I-I’m sorry, K-Kiri.. I’m sorry I made-made you worry.. I-it’s really s-stupid.. I-I’m s-scared of t-the d-dark..”
Makoto’s voice was as shaky as his body, and his usual happy and go-lucky face was stained and wet with tears, it was all really unsettling for Kyoko, who was not at all used to handling people’s emotions, especially ones like these.
“It’s okay Mako. I don’t care what you’re afraid of. I’ll always love you no matter what. I promise, Hun.”
She was beginning to get an idea of what to do now. She began stroking his hair a lot more gently rather than awkwardly. And she kissed his forehead in the exact same way.
“C-can y-you hold m-me?” Makoto asked as he lifted his arms around his partner’s neck.
Kyoko almost gasped in surprise at the feeing of touch, but yet she nodded and sat her boyfriend upright, cradling his little body in her arms and shushing him quietly.
“It’s alright, Mako.. It’s okay, sweetie. Don’t be frightened..”
The girl tried to think of calming words to say to her very nervous lover, only for him to cry even more.
Kyoko sighed as an idea popped into her mind, she picked up Makoto and began to sing to him.
The song had no actual lyrics, it was mainly just Kyoko singing a gentle tune into his ear, and eventually Makoto calmed down a little and his loud sobs turned into soundless whimpers.
After about another ten minutes of doing so, the lights came back on, and once they did Makoto grabbed onto Kyoko tightly and hugged her as hard as he could.
“It’s fine now, Makoto. We’re not in the dark anymore. Everything’s alright. Ssh.. I’ve got you.”
“Thanks, Kiri.” Makoto sighed as a small smile appeared on his adorable and now happy face again.
Kyoko smiled back at him and took his hand.
“Mako, don’t be afraid to come and tell me things like this. I love you, I’m you’re girlfriend after all, I’m supposed to love you no matter what.”
The brown haired one nodded as the detective helped him up, and he sat down on his bed as she tried to leave the room.
Keyword is tried.
“Um.. Kiri.. Can you stay with me for a little bit..? Please..” Makoto asked.
Kyoko smirked as she walked back into the room and sat down beside him.
“Fine.” She said, and she wrapped an arm around him again as he cuddled into her.
They both stayed like that for about twenty minutes until Makoto fell asleep like he always did, and so Kyoko tucked him into bed and kissed the top of his head, leaving him to rest.
“Goodnight, Mako.” She said gently.

This Thing
de·hu·man·i·za·tion
noun
the process of depriving a person or group of positive human qualities.
This thing A meta on the dehumanization of villains done by the heroes in the manga My Hero Academia, if you’re interested read more underneath the cut.
Before saying anything else, yes crimminals are a group of people who can be dehumanized. People who break the law are still in fact people, and while this is mainly talking about a fictional work it’s worth remembering that dehumanization is a tactic used to justify violence and the taking away of human rights from crimminals and incarcerated people.
People are still people. No matter what bad things they do they’re still people. And victims are victims even if they don’t present their victimhood in easy to digest ways. The conflict in My Hero Academia is one much more complicated than hero vs. villain because it exists within a society that generates its own villains through intentional neglect. I say neglect, because most heroes seem to be of the perspective that villains are either born evil, or choose to do evil entirely of their own free will and are never victims of circumstances or forced into the livelihood.
Villain isn’t just what costumed crimminals are called in MHA, it’s a literal legal definition that are given to certain crimminal offenders. We don’t know what exactly the legal ramifications are, but the fact that you can literally be called a villain just for being a repeat offender shows the way hero society views it’s crimminals.
Villain has different connotations, it means an inhuman evil, not just a person who has done bad things. Police also have much more power in comparison to our society as well, in the manga vigilantes when his sister Makoto brings up the fact that technically her friend who has been accused of villainry is innocent until proven guilty and formally charged.
Tsukauchi gets physically angry with her.
What’s important in this situation is the girl they’re arguing about pop step is an innocent victim. She was kidnapped by a man, had a parasite inserted into her brain and is being physically controlled. What she needs to be is saved not put down, but the law is so inflexible it’s only capable of seeing her as a villain not as a person caught in a bad situation who needs to be saved from that situation.
And it’s much later revealed that there is technically a way to save her life, but because it requires breaking of the laws the police and heroes won’t ever do it. Beating her up won’t save her, it’ll just kill her as an innocent victim of circumstance, and stop her from doing any more damage to the people around her. Even if the police knew the way to save her life they won’t attempt it because it breaks the law.
Being a by the book cop is all well and good, but when the law that exists doesn’t protect people there’s something wrong with the law. This isn’t an isolated incident either, we’re shown over and over again in the main manga as well this is always how villains are responded to, violent suppression.
At the start of the manga Shigaraki says this, that heroes and villains are both violent but because heroes are categorized as such their violence suddenly becomes heroic. All Might just dismisses what he says as him being a madman.
Not only that but in the aftermath of the break in the heroes all attempt to dissect Shigaraki’s character. They all make him out to be some kind of insane person that could have no possible rationale or reason behind his actions.
They dismiss Shigaraki’s attack as him simply being a man-child who thinks he can do whatever he wants. There’s no possible way that he could have any kind of sympathetic reason or human rationale, because he’s a villain, right? Except we learn later that’s not the case.
The words that Shigaraki is saying to All Might echo the words of his abuser. Shigaraki is like this not out of his own choice, but because he was deliberately shapped and moulded by someone. The reason why Shigaraki is impuslively violent is because as a literal five year old he was exposed to violence over and over again, and told this is who he was, this is what he was for.
All Might later discovers that Shigaraki is not only the son of Nana Shimura’s son, a child he was personally responsible for when his mother died but decided to go along with his mother’s plan to abandon him (for his protection) and then also that All for One had specifically raised Shimura Tenko as a weapon against him. All Might knowing completely the manipulative kind of man that All for One is, and that Shimura must have been young when All for One took him in. Is still able only to see Shigaraki as a crimminal.
He is literally told that he can’t see him as anything other than a villain otherwise his judgement would be affected. At this point it’s not even ignorance, it’s intentional neglect. All Might SHOULD know that something is up with Shimura Tenko and that he didn’t choose to become a villain and was most likely influenced by All for One and yet the heroes all choose to ignore that fact and instead put him down like any other crimminal.
The problem with dehumanizing crimminals is that cops are not omniscient. Cops make mistakes. Cops are wrong, like... a lot. When you give people the power of law, there are people who are victims who were just trying to survive who are going to get caught up and treated exactly the same as people who are genuinely dangerous and out to hurt others like AFO. There are people who are perfectly innocent sometimes who will get caught up in it too.
People like Tsukauchi and Gran Torino may be good cops, they may be by the book cops, but that’s it. They’re the type that gets angry at the fact that due process exists because they believe that cops always suspect the right people, and that their hunches are never wrong or they could never possibly arrest someone who doesn’t deserve it. Neither of them acknowledge that the system is flawed and often makes mistakes, and because of that they end up believing that the police are always in the right, that the police could never prosecute someone wrongly, and those are dangerous beliefs to have for literally any law system, especially one with guys that shoot lasers out of their eyes.. The reason due process exists is not to slow the hand of justice, it’s because the legal system is really flawed.
The problem with giving too much power to police is that we don’t exist in a perfect world where the police will obey even their own laws. Why don’t we just put cameras in everybody’s houses? People who aren’t doing anything illegal won’t have anything to worry about. Unless suddenly things like speaking out against the government become illegal because the police now have the power to enforce it. What I’m saying is the rule of law does not necessarily = good or evil. Rules are not always good, and they’re also not absolutes they change all the time, and they also don’t always exist to protect people they need to protect. We see this literally happen in My Hero Acadmia, the government uses it’s power to kidnap a child and erase his name literally the exact same way All for One did so he could be raised as a child soldier.
The conflict in My Hero Academia is not good guys vs bad guys, especially when the good guys don’t even act as good guys, and a step beyond that rigid laws and adherence to social order is not ever going to solve the problems associated with villains like Shigaraki because those laws are fundamentally unjust. They don’t exist to protect the people who most need protecting, they exist to oppress a minority in order to maintain social order.
Yes, violent crimminals are still a group of people. They are still human beings with rights. If they’re not guaranteed those rights they will be abused. We’ve literally seen this play out in action.
Hawks corners Twice, and then says he’ll go out of his way to Save Twice because he personally likes him. The only one of the villains Hawks treats as a human and not just an enemy to put down is Twice, and only because he personally likes him.
Twice brings up the fact that all of his friends deserve to be saved the same way he is. In fact, he even goes out of his way to say that he would die to save these people, and Hawks just ignores them because he sees no humanity in them only the one he personally likes.
Then Hawks goes out of his way to mention that if Twice doesn’t stop fighting back, it’s his fault if they die. Twice is trying to argue with Hawks that the people he sees as a danger to society, and that need to be taken down are humans capable of being kind just as much as they are a threat.
Twice murders him. He goes out of his way to murder him and stab him in the back. Hawks acting in a capacity as a hero, goes out of his way to dehumanize Twice again and again, completely ignore his own feelings and words, and then that conflict eventually escalates to murder. The point is not that Hawks had no choice but to kill him, but rather Hawks convinced himself he had no choice but to kill Twice.
The problem with applying this extremely harsh and punitive, even war-like view of law and order is that innocent people like Twice who literally only wanted to keep his friends happy will get caught up in it. Hawks literally thought that Twice had a chance for rehabilitation, that of the league he was the one most likely to rehabilitate and he still murdered him.
Heroes aren’t interested in rehabilitation. They are there to beat up villains. For several of them, it’s not even that far of a jump to get to the point where they start justifying killing villains. Miruko is almost excited to murder the Nomu who are, you know, innocent victims of mad science.
They want to take down Ujiko, but they don’t care at all about his creations which are all former people, and the heroes know this by this point. Finally, I want to discuss one of the most empathic characters in the manga.
Aiawa is the current guardian of Eri. He participated in the mission to rescue her from Chisaki. He is someone who views Eri as a victim, and never gets upset with her or blames her for her out of control quirk the same way Chisaki once did.
Not only that but Aizawa himself has had a friend kidnapped and stolen away by All for One. He knows personally what All for One can do to a person, by changing Shirakumo to Kurogiri he completely warped his personality and controlled him to the point where the person he once was was almost gone.
He knows All for One is capable of having that affect on people, not only that but Kurogiri himself says that Shigaraki is like a lost kitten that he can’t throw away because he feels responsible.
Aizawa has rescued a victim who is in similiar circumstances to Shigaraki. Aizawa has literally seen his best friend warped and changed by All for One’s hand. It should be obvious what Shigaraki has been through by now, and yet Aizawa doesn’t seem to care about Shigaraki’s circumstances at all.
Shirakumo has done bad things in AFO’s name as well. However, Aizawa decides to see Shirakumo as a victim. Even though Shirakumo is also complicit in the grooming and raising of Shigaraki for what he is, and almost certainly had a hand in manipulating him.
Aizawa empathizes with Kurogiri because he knows him personally, because he wants Shirakumo back. He doens’t bother to care about Shigaraki, because he doesn’t know Shigaraki personally. It’s not only hypocritical, it’s also just plain ignorance.
Aizawa is literally given every story reason to care. Shirakumo literally tells Aizawa that Shigaraki is a person he wants to protect and that he’s fond of. Aizawa believes that despite the terrible things he’s done, there’s still the boy who wanted to become a hero somewhere in Kurogiri, and he’s literally proven right.
Shirakumo still has a chance and is given a chance to become a hero, because Aizawa cares about him because they were friends but that’s about it. It’s not like Aizawa is driven by a very rigorous and strict sense of justice. He’s clearly willing to make exceptions, even for people who have put his students at risk, or even personally attacked him. He’s willing to reach out and understand Shirakumo’s circumstances, so clearly he doesn’t have a completely black and white view of good and evil. However, Aizawa’s reasons for sympathizing with Kurogiri and only Kurogiri are ultimately pretty selfish. It’s because he wants Shirakumo back. He doesn’t care about the circumstances, or even who Kurogiri cares about now he just wants his old friend back. Therefore he has no reason to care about Shigaraki who was victimized in a similiar way to Kurogiri, just because he doesn’t know him. I guess you’re not obligated to care about anybody, but it’s the exact opposite of empathy, especially in a character like Aizawa who has always shown to be especially protective of children. Nobody tries to understand Shigaraki, nobody tries to empathize with him, even though he also once had the exact same dream as both Shirakumo, and even Deku.
But Shigaraki’s just a monster that needs to be put down and stopped, there’s not a fragment of good in him like there was for Kurogiri, like there was for Twice.
Aizawa even gets angry at Ujiko for the callous way he treats human lives. For the way they were tossed aside. He’s righteously angry for Ujiko’s victims, especially Kurogiri. But he doesn’t stop to think for a second that Shigaraki is possibly another victim manipulated by the likes of Ujiko. Once again because Aizawa doesn’t personally know Shigaraki, or because Shigaraki is a bad person, who cares if he gets hurt and manipulated by Ujiko.
So we see by the heroes, Shigaraki referred to as a thing, Shigaraki referred to as an it. He’s just a monster to be stopped. It’s like he’s a boss in a video game the heroes need to kill.
Even though they literally see him being experimented on by Ujiko, an actual abuser who has used his money and connections to commit inhuman experiments his whole life that too must be Shigaraki’s fault somehow. The heroes are repeating the exact same lines that Shigaraki’s abuser All for One did on him.
By treating him as a monster. By treating him as a thing that needs to be killed, rather than a person who needs to be saved. They are doing All for One’s work for him by creating a symbol of fear and robbing a lifelong victim of abuse of his humanity. It’s like they want villains like Shigaraki to exist so they can remain heroes.

Review Proper
Wow.
I’m sorry, but I now know what I’m rooting for for this year’s awards. Shinshokan really be putting in the works for the sequels, huh? Y’all better remember that there were a lot of scrapped dialogue in Sayonara Game and Change World while they scrapped A WHOLE FUCKING CHARACTER in Secret XXX. However, instead of feeling doubtful of the actual closeness to the manga, I trusted the adaptations of the sequels and was more worried about the casting. I was honestly not into the whole Makonyan bottoming for Okitsu deal for the prequel because not only was Makonyan my seme king 2018 and Okitsu uke queen 2018, Makonyan was using a very high-pitched voice as Yousuke-kun which sounded unnatural. Lo and behold, Shinshokan 2020 really is turning best-selling manga sequels into best-selling BLCDs because not only was the casting for Therapy Game and Love Nest perfect, they gave us the full dialogues AND MORE!
Bless.
And that, folks, is money well spent.
Man, ever since I’ve heard that Love Nest was going to get an adaptation, I just knew that Kawahara Yoshihisa would be the perfect fit for Asahi. It’s like Minaduki Yuu created Asahi with the thought that he sounds like Kawahara Yoshihisa. Out of all the cast members, it’s only Asahi that didn’t warrant me to adjust to his voice. I mean, who would be better to voice a goddamn daddy than the goddamn daddy??? Yo, that scene when Masato was leaving during the fireworks???
IT WAS EXACTLY HOW I IMAGINED IT OUT TO BE!!! I was also wondering if he was going to be the one that voices his younger self from his flashbacks because his voice was obviously too mature to do that, but he actually did it! That was probably the first time I’ve ever heard him in such a high pitch and he did well in it! I love how I got to hear him in a high and Saitou Souma in a low in this adaptation.
As for Saitou Souma—now, I did say that I wasn’t that into him voice Masato in Change World, but what the heck? It only took me about a minute to adjust to his Masato in track 1 because mans made it his own! I honestly can’t remember who I wanted to voice Masato or if there even was anyone else back then, but now, Masato is Saitou Souma and Saitou Souma alone! This is probably the lowest pitch I’ve ever heard him in, and I’d be lying if I said that I wasn’t scared of him going flat, but guess what??? HE NEVER DID! He stayed in that deeper tone all throughout the BLCD and I even forgot that it was him a lot of the time.
I was also actually a little worried if he’d be able to hold his ground against Kawahara, but as he did with Hirarin, Waccha, and Maeno many BLCDs ago, it was just another day at the studio for him. Also, Kawahara and Saitou Souma almost had the exact same age gap as Asahi and Masato, so imagine how it would feel like for Souma to “oi!” his senior. I’d be shaking in my boots. 😂 Looks like my boy won’t be giving up his seat at the top of the seiyuu rankings easily this year. He never really fails to amaze me. What a legend.
Like what I did in Therapy Game, I also didn’t look up the whole cast list even though I knew that Okitsu and Makonyan was going to come back to reprise their roles. If y’all didn’t know, I am 100% Naru trash. Like, if master’s no one’s gonna take him, I’m taking him. With that being said, I waited until I listened to it to see who was going to voice him AND IT TURNED OUT TO BE YAMANAKA MASAHIRO??? Are you kidding me??? I SHIP HIM WITH KAWAHARA YOSHIHISA, THOUGH??? AND YONEKURA-SAN AND SHIINA-KUN’S IN ONE CD AGAIN?! WAIT, I FORGOT THAT UENOYAMA AND MAFUYU WERE FIGHTING OVER THE SAME GUY HERE!
This was especially hard because I kind of—I mean, really ship Naru and Masato. Heck, I ship Naru and Masato with everyone. What the heck are almost all of Kitahala Lyee’s VAs doing here? Shinshokan shouldn’t have been shy. They should’ve cast Satou Takuya to do master or Sakuma-senpai so that the whole fucking circus was present! I cannot with this crossover!!!
Everybody else was voiced pretty well, too, and I even put almost all of them in pairs! I love how we have a lesbian couple in a BLCD! Marie just needed her own special mention because I just love her and Masato’s relationship. 😭😭😭 I wish that people would be more open to these types of bonds between the opposite sex. Speaking of voice actors, I was struggling to find who voiced Sakuma-senpai because his name wasn’t even in BLCDwiki’s cast list. He did such a spectacular job as him, too (despite how utterly disgusting his character was). If someone knows him, please tell me who he is because I wanna know and I want him in this industry more ASAP!
I take back what I said in my review for Therapy Game. I love this more because it’s more painful and I love my daddies. Do I recommend this? Damn right I do. Get your hands on this ASAP esp if you’re a fan. There is a considerable amount of added dialogue, but they aren’t as major as the ones in Therapy Game, so reading the manga along is possible. I’m telling you, this is definitely running for best BLCD of the year and it’s also my favorite now (Okitsu’s still in this, what a surprise). From the casting, the execution, the pacing, the added dialogues—everything is top notch! I’m willing to beg on my knees in front of Shinshokan for Play More, Restart, and Love Nest 2! We need it!!! Please make it happen!!! 😭😭😭
And that concludes the BL reviews for now. I’ve listened to everything that I’ve wanted to listen to that was released in the first half of the year, so I’m a happy camper now. God, I sincerely hope that the world becomes okay soon for everyone’s sake. Once I hopefully get another job, it’s gonna be more part two’s, Okitsus, and Zariya Ranmaru. Yaoi gods, please grant Nakajima Yoshiki your divine blessings. 🙇

Never7 -the end of infinity- review
Kotaro Uchikoshi holds the title of being one of the most magnificently insane writers in Japan, which is saying something. He’s most famous for the Zero Escape trilogy, an innovative mix of escape-the-room puzzles and normal visual novel story sequences, and the much more recent AI: The Somnium Files, a more standard, yet equally memorable detective drama, which I actually wrote a full review on right here. Though, all things considered, “famous” would be a bit of an overstatement, as these games are very much cult games, being all but completely ignored in Japan, and not doing fantastic overseas either, with the upside of those who have played them often loving them, including me, with Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors and AI: The Somnium Files being some of my favorite games out there. However, before the days of Zero Escape, Uchikoshi got his start working at KID, a now defunct developer most famous for its two visual novel series, those being Memories Off, a series of romance VNs that have unfortunately never seen the light of day outside of Japan, not even through fan translations, and the Infinity series, the brainchild of Uchikoshi and the equally insane Takumi Nakazawa, consisting of Never7, Ever17, Remember11, 12Riven, and Code_18, though, reasonably speaking, only those first three, as the latter two were pretty badly received. Science fiction VNs that are mostly connected by their shared themes, these games laid the groundwork for Zero Escape, and are ironically the exact opposite in terms of popularity, being well received and popular in Japan when released, but almost completely unknown in America even today, for understandable reasons, as only Ever17 was officially released in English, with Never7 and Remember11 only being playable with fan translations, along with just being old. Never7 originally was released in 2000, with Ever17 and Remember11 coming out in 2002 and 2004 respectively. Needless to say, these games have long lost their chance at the spotlight, but my curiosity has driven me to them, and thus, we arrive at today’s topic: the first game in the series, Never7. Note that I played the PSP version, as while the translation was originally made for the PC version, that version is really not recommended, for reasons I’ll detail later in the review. Either way, here it be.
20 year old Makoto Ishihara is an unremarkable college student theoretically majoring in psychology, but in practice has majored in skipping the majority of his classes due to his lack of personal direction. This slacker attitude comes back to bite Makoto when he finds himself forcibly signed up for the strange “Seminar Camp”, set on a faraway island and lasting from April 1st to April 7th, with no apparent purpose other than to strengthen the bonds between the members of the group. The other members of Makoto’s group are Yuka Kawashima, a friendly, outgoing girl who serves as the group’s leader, Haruka Higuchi, a quiet, mysterious honor student, and Okuhiko Iida, an infamous playboy who also happens to be heir to the Iida Financial Group. During their week on the island, the group also befriends three others unrelated to the camp: Saki Asakura, an old friend of Yuka’s who comes from a rich family, Kurumi Morino, an energetic and cheerful girl, and her older sister Izumi Morino, the temporary manager of the cafe Lunabeach, whose motherly nature quickly gives her a place as the mediator of the group.
Unfortunately, this otherwise relaxing stay proves to have its own share of problems, mostly within the group. Yuka, despite being the leader, is rather reckless, with a tendency to get unreasonably drunk every chance she gets. Haruka avoids interaction to the point of seeming cold, and insists, among other things, that she “has no heart”. Okuhiko is a shallow jerk who instantly takes a disliking to Makoto, and has a fixation on Haruka that he takes to controlling levels, despite her clear disinterest. Saki, though perfectly affable in group settings, is unnecessarily difficult, stubborn, and harsh in one on one conversation, with a tendency to lash out at others when upset. Kurumi is extremely childish, despite being 17 years old, and even the otherwise dependable Izumi is more than a bit scatterbrained and secretive. As both bonds and tensions form within the group over the week, Makoto is faced with something far more concerning: mysterious premonitions of near future events that always turn out to be correct, coupled with a strange dream which seems to predict the death of someone on the 6th while holding a strange bell, with him soon finding said bell washed up on the beach one night.
It’s pretty much impossible to talk about this game without giving away that it is much more than a simple romance VN, despite it being the big twist of the game when it was first released. Unfortunately, the twists of the game mostly rely on being a surprise, and aren’t very developed otherwise, for the most part, and the story is mostly focused on romance. Considering how elaborate Uchikoshi’s later games are, this is absolutely the biggest reason why Never7 remains so obscure even by Infinity’s standards, considering that Uchikoshi fans are pretty much the only ones who’d be interested in this game nowadays, and knowing that this game isn’t even close to the same level of complexity as his more famous games is the biggest thing that has to be kept in mind when considering anything about it.
The game consists of a beginning common route, 5 routes for Yuka, Haruka, Saki, Kurumi, and Izumi, and the two Curé routes: Izumi Curé, the final route, which takes the plot in a vastly different direction, and serves to completely supplant Izumi’s original route as well, as it’s rather infamously disappointing, and Yuka Curé, a retelling of Yuka’s route from her own perspective. While Yuka Curé is an extra accessed outside of the main game, the rest are accessed in pretty typical VN fashion: the game starts with a common route that serves to introduce the characters, setting, and a few plot elements, before eventually diverging into one of several character specific routes depending on your choices within the common route, namely building up affection points with the characters, and seeing specific, important scenes concerning them. Having enough points and having all requisite plot flags will lock you into that character’s route, with the game otherwise defaulting to Yuka’s route. Not anything atypical of the genre here.
For the most part, this system is fairly forgiving, and works fine. It’s usually pretty easy to figure out what choices actually affect affection, whether from the options themselves, or the reactions of the characters, and the amount of points needed is fairly lenient for each. There’s also a scene near the end common route that has several variations based on which character you have the most affection with, once again defaulting to Yuka if you don’t have sufficient points with any of the others, allowing you an easy way to figure out if you’re on the right path. That said, there’s still definitely frustrations it can cause. While you technically have plenty of freedom to choose what route to pursue on your first playthrough, only Yuka and Haruka’s routes are on the easier side, with Saki’s route being difficult to navigate to and through due to her contrarian nature, with most of the options that involve angering her being the ones to raise affection, and Kurumi’s route forcing you to branch off to a scene involving Izumi instead of her when given the option. Izumi’s routes are also very glaringly not available at first, with options related to her in the common route slowly being unlocked with each route completed instead. While it is actually pretty neat to witness and does make sense, as Izumi’s normal route is not at all serious, and the Curé route is absolutely meant to be saved for last, as far as the serious routes go, it’s still kinda awkward once you notice it, and accessing them carries its own frustration, namely pulling the reverse of the Kurumi route situation and needing to go with Kurumi instead of Izumi at the same point.
Each route also contains multiple endings, with Yuka’s, Haruka’s, Saki’s, and Kurumi’s routes having one bad and one good ending, Izumi’s routes having two bad endings and one good ending each, and Yuka Curé having one bad and two good endings, all of which depend on certain important decisions within the routes, typically at the climax, with specific steps needing to be taken to achieve the good endings, with everything else leading to the bad endings. It’s actually pretty easy to figure out what’s needed for the good endings most of the time, and even if you screw up, it doesn’t take long to fix your mistake, as the game autosaves at the start of every scene and everytime a decision is available. That said, even this has a few frustrating parts. Kurumi’s ending is a lot easier to screw up than the others, and the Haruka, Saki, and Izumi Curé routes keep the affection mechanic, whereas the others forego it once locked into, forcing you to continue gaining points to reach a certain minimum by the climax, or you’re automatically locked into the bad endings. While it’s still pretty easy to do with Haruka and Izumi, to the point you may gain enough points just from the common route, Saki’s route once again causes the most issue with this mechanic, with the choices tending to be just as confusing as in the common route, which is especially bad if you only barely scraped into her route in the first place. As one last note on the affection mechanic, Yuka and Saki’s routes have scenes and CGs that can only be viewed with certain amounts of affection, with Yuka’s needing a rather high amount that forces you to get as many as possible, and Saki’s rather confusing needing less than a certain high amount, based on my testing. The game barely gives any indication of this, outside of showing scenes in their routes missing in the playing log.
As far as length goes, this isn’t exactly Clannad or Grisaia; while not short, it’s only about average length for a VN. Both the common route and the character routes go by pretty quickly, with only Izumi Curé being noticeably lengthy. The bigger plot elements don’t have much focus at all before the character routes kick in, and only the Izumi Curé and Yuka routes place any great focus on them, which can leave it feeling pretty half baked overall. Additionally, the two Curé routes weren’t even in the original version of the game, which released for the PS1 as Infinity, and thus the elements within Izumi Curé can feel a bit jarring compared to the rest of the game. Altogether, this gives the impression of a game that’s, at best, just average, and only notable as a prototype for the later games in the series. However, while I’m not going to argue against how unappealing Never7′s basic nature can be in comparison to Ever17 or Zero Escape, I actually ended up liking it quite a bit, probably a good deal more than average, and feel it does overall do more things right than wrong.
The cast of characters is by far the best part of Never7. While Makoto is a very basic and forgettable protagonist, and Okuhiko only really exists to be the butt of jokes, though even he gets a couple of moments of depth, everyone else is likeable and complex in their own ways. Yuka, though having a lot of traits that could just easily make her irritating, instead manages to be surprisingly charming. Saki is genuinely sympathetic despite the many low points she has, and the parts of the story that focus on her are generally some of the best parts of the game. My favorite character by far is Haruka, who has, in my opinion, the best route in the game, with many memorable and tender moments as early as the common route, and very well done character development which makes it flow better than a good deal of the other routes, and has a tragic element that stands out even when most of the rest of the cast does as well, which leads to many of the more emotional moments of the game. Haruka’s scenes are another consistent highlight of the writing, and she is overall a surprisingly memorable character among the cast, in my opinion.
Speaking of routes, they’re definitely the other main highlight of the writing. While the structure of the plot means that they can feel a bit samey at times, they do do a good job of developing their respective characters, and do have their own little twists along the way to make them stand out. Additionally, unlike some romance VNs, the rest doesn’t simply vanish outside of their own routes. As the relationships between the cast are important parts of their characters, each character plays a role of some importance in at least one route each, which helps keep focus on each character. It’s not quite perfectly balanced, though; Saki is very noticeably screwed for screentime, only playing a noticeable role in Yuka’s route, and having no presence in any other route besides her own. This also rather bizarrely applies to Yuka herself to a lesser degree, despite being the most blatantly advertised of the characters, while Haruka and Izumi tend to have more of the focus between routes.
Aside from the aforementioned Haruka route, some of my other favorite routes would be Saki’s route, for its surprisingly tense atmosphere and focus on the tensions within the group giving it a very different feel from most of the other routes, Yuka Curé, as Yuka’s perspective is refreshingly different from Makoto’s and gives her quite a bit more depth, while having a fair few potential divergences from the normal Yuka route, along with giving Saki a very prominent supporting role, and Izumi Curé, for giving the biggest taste of the kind of direction future games would go. The plot elements revealed within are quite interesting, and force you to take a whole different perspective when considering the rest of the game up to this point, and ends with a tasteful amount of ambiguity that, among other things, reasonably lets you decide just which of the routes you think is “real”, despite the seemingly decisive focus and finality it has. Overall, I actually ended up quite a bit more attached to this cast than I was expecting, and while it wasn’t even close to getting to me like, say, Steins;Gate or AI: The Somnium Files, there’s a few decently emotional moments throughout, particularly on the Yuka, Haruka, and Izumi Curé routes.
But despite the dark or depressing moments Never7 can get into, in the end, it’s a lighthearted and optimistic game, and all things considered, that’s for the best for it. It’s not trying to be a dark dramatic story, just a relaxing and pleasant experience with a few twists to it, and after going through gruesome experiences like Zero Escape and Chaos;Child, I honestly kinda appreciate that.
As far as the game’s more technical aspects go, the characters and art were done by Yuna Kagesaki, best known for the manga Chibi Vampire/Karin. While the artstyle isn’t anything special, visually, the game is actually quite good looking overall. The character designs all look quite good, and the sprites and CGs are also well made, with the sprites notably giving all the characters many different poses, which make them quite distinct, even if a few tend to make the characters in question look a bit odd. While the PSP’s lower resolution and smaller screen means the sprites and backgrounds don’t look as good as the PC version, and that entire CGs and sprites can’t fit on the screen, it actually looks better than the PC version in places, from visual effects like rain, to the filters placed over the character sprites during sunset and night, to even just the UI. The PC version is extremely bare bones, but the PSP version has plenty of neat little menus and features such as a backlog, a detailed CG gallery that includes promotional artwork along with the art within the game itself, a playing log that includes detailed statistics and allows you to view how many scenes you’ve seen within the game, and how much dialogue you’ve seen within each, a music gallery, and a glossary that helps define terms and concepts within the game. While these aren’t quite special, they are very appreciated all the same, and make the PSP version of Never7 the definitive version. Still, here’s a comparison of the two versions, with the rainbow textbox being exclusive to the PC version.
Never7 also features a soundtrack composed by the great Takeshi Abo, who, along with the rest of the Infinity series, is the composer for the Science Adventure series, i.e. Steins;Gate and Chaos;Child. The original soundtrack, used in the PC version, was, to be honest, a bit rough in places, but the PSP version uses a remixed soundtrack first made for the PS2 port, which is nothing short of fantastic. The soundtrack fits the mood of the game perfectly, being very relaxing or upbeat. Each character’s theme fits them perfectly, and the music always manages to fit the context of each scene, particularly the song Languor, which fits both definitions of the word: pleasantly tired, or oppressively stiff. My favorite tracks have to be Izumi’s warm theme, the rather emotional main theme of the game, Once More, and especially Haruka’s downright beautiful theme. Exclusive to the PSP is a rather neat OP played at the start of the game, and an ED used for the original five routes, performed by the band Asriel, with the Curé routes having different EDs that were composed well before this port. Never7 also features a voice cast of voice actors both new and popular at the time, mostly notably the late Tomoko Kawakami as Yuka, Yuki Matsuoka as both Haruka and Kurumi, and Kikuko Inoue as Izumi. Everyone does a pretty decent job, with Yuki Matsuoka particularly managing to make both her characters sound very different. Most of the voice acting is rather compressed, even if it still sounds okay, but the voice acting in the Izumi Curé route is uncompressed, which, while a bit jarring when compared to the original voice acting, certainly sounds much better.
Overall, whether or not I would recommend Never7 heavily depends. If you want a crazier, much more visibly Uchikoshi experience, a much deeper kind of romance game like Clannad, or even just an especially emotional experience, you’re not likely to be impressed, and it’s not recommended in that case. However, the lighthearted nature of the game, average length, and likeable cast make for an experience that is actually quite enjoyable in its own right. If you can keep your expectations reasonable and lowered and just take it as it is, you’ll likely find a fun, easily accessible kind of experience, with some great art, beautiful music, and more than a few distinctive moments in its own right that I would genuinely recommend giving a fair try if you care for visual novels at all.
With that, more words than likely anyone has spoken in defense of this game, I’m off to take another dive into visual novel hell, soon including this game’s far more famous sequel, Ever17. Till next time. -Scout

Mini Fanfic #536: We Love You, Ren! (Super Smash Bros Ultimate)
2:00a a.m. at Smash Mansion's Living Room.......
Ren: (Sitting on the Living Room's Sofa, Looking Down on the Floor in a Sad, Tired Manner) ('Sighs Heavily')..........
?????: Renny?
In a matter of seconds, Ren quickly looks up, turns around and see that the person who called his name was none other than one of his now official adopted mothers, Bayonetta, who is staring at her with concern in her eyes.
Ren: Oh! Uh....Hey, mom. What are you doing up so late?
Bayonetta: Wondering why the living room's light was on. What's wrong, sweetheart? Why are you up this late as well?
Ren: I was just uhh.... Enjoying the atmosphere so far. ('Heh') Pretty.... normal so far......
Bayonetta: (Crosses her Arms) Renny, please be honest with me, dear. I know something is wrong with you the moment I stepped down those stairs. Now tell me.... Did you had a bad dream tonight?
Ren: ('Sighs in Defeat') Yeah....I did....It was.... Pretty bad to say the least..... B-But I'm pretty sure it was stupid anyways.
Bayonetta: It doesn't matter to me if this dream of yours was stupid or not. (Made her way to the Sofa and Sat Right Next to Ren) What's important to me now is that dream in particular is bothering my baby boy to the point of waking up in the middle of the night.....And all I really want to do right now, as a mother, is to listen and help you the best way I can, but only if you talk to me about this. Please....
Ren: (Took a Deep Breath Before Speaking Again) Okay. So....I don't wanna go into too much detail the dream, but.....long story short, I....dreamt that.....you, other mom, Pit, Pitto, all of my friends from Shiyuba, and.....even everyone here......hates me.....That....you all said that....I was a nuisance......that I was in everyone's way.......a waste of space.....(Tears Start Falling Down on his Face) that you don't want anything to do with me anymore.....('Sniff') and then after that.....you all vanished...... leaving me.....('Sniff') in the dark..... alone.....
Bayonetta: (Immediately Hugs Ren in a Loving Matter) Oh my poor baby, I'm so sorry.....
Ren: (Chuckles Lightly....and Sadly) See? ('Sniff') I told you....('Sniff') The dream was stupid.
Bayonetta: Renny, no. It wasn't stupid at all. It is worrying me to no end now because what everyone of us said to you in that dream of yours is very FAR from the truth. We do not think of you a nuisance, a waste of space, or any other terrible things that version of us told you. You are our everything, Ren Amamiya!......And we love you...(Tears Fell Down Her Face) ('Sniff') We love you so so very much everyday......
Ren: (Immediately Hugs Bayonetta Back) H-Hey! Mom, don't cry! I believe you guys one hundred percent. I promise.
Bayonetta: I know you do, sweetheart, and I never doubted you for a second. ('Sniff') I just wanted to tell you that from the bottom of my heart.
Ren: And it definitely shows. It just that..... Honestly.... I'm not even sure what that dream came from. It's like....it just came out of nowhere and everything, you know?
Bayonetta: I can believe that. Dreams does work in mysterious ways after all. But if you ask me, I really want you to try your hardest not to let it get to you. (Gently Holds Ren's Hands) Because at the end of the day, no matter how many people would try and say otherwise, you, Ren Amimaya, mean so much to each and everyone of us in this mansion and in Shiyuba. Promise me you'll do your best to remember that for as long as you live.....(Kiss the Top of One of Ren's Hands) Okay?
Ren: (Smiles Softly While Using his Other Hand to Wipe the Tears Away) Yeah.......('Sniff') I promise. (Chuckles Lightly) Sorry you had to see me like that. Usually whenever I cry, it... mostly have to deal with me getting pulled to the edge. Emotionally speaking. Plus....I know you used to be annoyed with seeing people cry in general, so....
Bayonetta: "Annoyed" (Giggles Softly) Oho, sweetheart, trust me, I am way past being annoyed with it now. You seem to forget that your mother and I cry almost all the time nowadays. It's a miracle I don't have that much masscara on tonight. My face would be a complete mess.
Ren: Are you kidding? With and without any masscara or make-up, you and goddess mom would always be beautiful to me. Inside and out.
Bayonetta: (Heart Begins to Melt Happily as She Gives Ren a Big Kiss on the Cheek) I love you so much, Renny. I know I may have technically already told you this a lot tonight, but it's the honest truth.
Ren: (Smiles Softly) I know. And I love you and everyone in my life too, mom. Always.
Bayonetta: (Smiles Softly as She Got Up from the Sofa) So, you are going to be okay now, my dear?
Ren: I going to be okay now that you were here to talk to me. I appreciate it a lot.
Bayonetta: Well, if that's the case......(Picks Ren Up From the Couch, Holding him in a Bridal Carry)
Ren: (Confused) Huh?
Bayonetta: I believe it's high time we head ourselves back to bed, no? (Head Upstairs While Holding Ren in her Arms)
Ren: Yeah, but.....You do know that I can just walk up to my room on my own, right?
Bayonetta: True. But right now, you are going to sleep with your two mommies for the rest of the night.
Ren: (A bit Surprised) Seriously? Are you....sure you want me to sleep with you guys for the night
Bayonetta: (Smiles Softly) Of course I'm sure, my little ray of sunshine. I wanna make absolute sure you have a peaceful sleep tonight. And if it means having you sleep right beside your mother and I, then so be it.
Ren: (Smiles Softly Again) You know, I know said this before, but...you guys really are good moms.
And with that, Bayonetta begins to lovingly gives Ren a bunch of kisses, all while making their way to her and Palutena's room.
Bayonetta and Palutena's Room...
Palutena: (Already Fast Asleep) 'Zzzzzzzzz'
Bayonetta: (Whispers into Palutena's Ear) Pauuuuliiie~
Palutena: (Slowly and Tiredly Begins to Walk) Bayo..... what's- (Turns to see Bayonetta Carry-on Ren in her Arms) Ren? What's going on here?
Bayonetta: Well, as you see, our baby boy here has gotten himself a terrible dream. So I figured that he would be sleeping with us for the rest of the night. (Gently Places Ren on the Bed Right Beside Palutena)
Ren: But only if you're okay with this.
Palutena: (Gives Ren a Tired Yet Soft Smiles) Renny, of course I'm okay with this you sleeping here tonight. (Hugs Ren Lovingly) You are our son now and we would do anything in our power to be there for you no matter.
Bayonetta: (Whispers to Ren with a Smirk on her Face While She Lays Down on her Side of the Bed) Told you so~
Ren: (Chuckles Lightly) I know. I know. But really, other mom, thanks. (Gives Palutena a Kiss on Top of her Forehead) I love you.
Palutena: (Gives Ren a Big Kiss on the Cheek) I love you too, Renny.
???: Moms?
Bayonetta: (Turns to see Pit and Dark Pit Standing Besides Her and Palutena's Doorway) Pit? Pitto? What's wrong, our darlings?
Pit: We were just looking for- (Eyes Widened as He Sees his New Big Brother is Already on the Bed with Palutena and Bayonetta) Ren!
Ren: (Waves at Pit and Dark Pit) Hey, guys. What's up?
Dark Pit: Dude, we were looking for you all night.
Pit: (Frowns Worryingly) You wasn't at your bed at the time. So we got up and look for you just so we can try and help.
Dark Pit: (Frowns a Little) You had a bad dream again?
Ren: Yeah, but I'll be fine. Witch mom helped me through it.
Bayonetta: (Proudly Nodded)
Dark Pit: Huh. Well, if that's the case then-
Pit: Can we sleep with you guys for the night? We wanna make sure our big bro is okay.
Dark Pit: (Turns to Pit) Dude, he just said that he's-
Palutena: (Smiles Softly) Of course, sweetie. You two are always welcome to sleep here.
Bayonetta: (Giggles Softly) The more the merrier.
Pit: (Smiles Brightly) Sweet! (Happily Makes his Way to his Mothers' Bed) Make room for us.
Dark Pit: (Sighs in Defeat as He Follows Along) Whatever.
Pit: (Lays Next to Ren and Palutena on His Side) Goodnight, Ren.
Dark Pit: (Lays Next to Ren and Bayonetta on his Side) Try to rest easy, alright? Highly doubt that any of us are ain't anywhere out if this bed.....
Ren: (Chuckles Lightly) Sure thing, man. I love you guys.
Pit: We love you too, bro.
And with that, the entire family peaceful went back to sleep together.
Bonus
Next Morning.......
Ren was busy watching television in the living room, when suddenly......
'Doorbell Rang'
Ren: (Made his Way to the Door)
'Door Opens'
Makoto: (Standing in the Doorway with a Very Worried Look on Her Face).....
Ren: (Smiles Softly at Makoto) Hey. You're finally here-
Makoto: Oh, Ren....(Immediately Hugs Ren Lovingly) I got your message and I am so sorry you had to go through with that last night.
Ren: Makoto.
Makoto: I understand that dreams in general can be terrifying most of the time, but it isn't something you could let it get the better of you. No matter how traumatizing it may be at times.
Ren: Makooooto.
Makoto: ('Sniff') And I know I already told you this before and everything, but I wholeheartedly mean it when I say that each and everyone of us loves you with all of our-
Ren: (Gently Pulls Away From Makoto's Embrace while Having his Hands on Both of her Shoulders) Makoto, honey, I'm gonna be fine. Don't worry.
Makoto: (A Little Bit Skeptical and Worried) Are you absolutely sure?
Ren: (Smiles Softly) Yeah. (Kiss the top of Makoto's Forehead) I promise. Mom helped me through it last night.
Makoto: Witch or Goddess?
Ren: Witch. (Chuckles Lightly) Ironically enough, dhe almost said the exact same thing you were about to say to me last night
Makoto: (Blushes a Little) W-Well, it's the honest truth! We love you so much, Ren Amimaya. You mean the world us and I'll be more than happy to tell you that every single day if I have to.
Ren: (Chuckles Lightly) Wouldn't mind that for second. Cause I love you guys too. (Hugs Makoto Again) Thanks for coming by here and keeping me company.
Makoto: (Happily Hugs Ren Back) You don't need to thank me, Ren-Ren. I'm always here for you, now matter what. Remember?
Ren: Clearly. So uhh.....You wanna go to the living, binge watch some anime shows, and cuddle the entire day away.
Makoto: (Giggles Softly) I'd love that.
