ok guys i dont wanna be a hater but im gonna be 100% honest i didnt rlly like the nimona movie 😭 I MEAN IT WAS FUN. it was nice. but i feel like it was missing everything that made me like the original graphic novel and honestly by the last like 30 minutes i was kind of just waiting for it to be over so i could read the book again 😭 NO HATE TO ANYONE WHO RLLY LIKED IT believe me when i say i dont think it is bad or anything. but i feel like just sooooo much was changed that it didnt feel like nimona at all to me. idk how to explain it, im sure once i reread the book i’ll be able to put it into words since the original will be more fresh in my mind. i think it was good but as someone who was literally obsessed w the og graphic novel it was honestly kinda disappointing. but i dont rlly care honestly its still rlly cool it got a movie!! 

but in my mind at least it proves that some things dont need to be made into a movie. ppl act like movies are the best form a piece of media can take and if something gets made into a movie then that’d be the peak form of it. but i honestly think nimona works wayyyyyy better in its original graphic novel form. most of the early stuff is way more slice of life lowkey stuff that lets you get attached to ballister and nimona as characters and get invested in their relationship w each other, BEFORE all the angsty final act stuff happens. also there honestly was just a ton of stuff that felt to me like it worked better in the original, like jousting tournament thing instead of the knighting ceremony, nimona being captured and being forced to turn into her “true” form rather than this new version with it just sort of happening bcuz of Emotions, etc. also the movie suffered from a lot of pacing and tone issues imo but the former i think is just from that lack of the slow buildup of their friendship, and the latter is something that i think just worked better in the book. idk again I’LL BE ABLE TO SAY THIS STUFF MORE CONCRETELY WHEN I ACTUALLY REREAD THE BOOK but i dont remember there being so much jokes and goofy shit DURING serious scenes. like iirc in the original during serious scenes it was SERIOUS. but in the movie theres so many unnecessary unfunny jokes and stuff. idk IDK i probably just had too high expectations idk. anyways

POSTER ANALYSIS TIME BABYYY

I'm not sure if it's meant to feel this way, but this poster has a very dark feeling to it. The way Luz looks in this lighting makes it seem as if something bittersweet is coming, or like she's saying a goodbye (I don't think she's going to die btw)

Obviously the amount of glyph circles and the one being held by Luz furthers the impression that they will be really important to the plot of this episode. Especially the light glyph

Eda and King are oddly menacing here, we saw these forms in the trailer but, idk compared to Luz' calm demeanor it seems to show that them and her will have separate battles/plots for a good portion of the episode.

The thing that is most interesting to me though is the titan head in the background with what appears to be a fur coat. From how he looks it's pretty obvious that he's alive. I'm pretty confident this is the dude that was trying to get Luz' attention in the in-between in ftf, which quite possibly could be the titan of the boiling isles, or the more controversial theory, that it's king from the future.

Anyways I'm really excited for this episode, I've been following it since december of 2020, so it's been a long ride, see you guys after the episode!

Season 4 of Bones was good.

This discussion will be brief though, because I have little to actually say on the matter? Not because it was lackluster, or boring! But it was just a nice season to watch.

I really enjoyed Brennan's insistence at the end for Booth to *trust* her and go to the hospital. They care SO much for each other.

I do have to say, one of the first episodes of Bones I remember seeing (at my aunts) being the episode he hallucinates Stewie ia very funny. While not the WORST ep to see first it DOES feel so disconnected. (I have to wonder... did they pay a lot for the Stewie cameo? Who was a fan?)

This season finale was SO good!!!! If I ever needed to put forth a Bones ep with tons of rewatchability THAT one would be at the top for sure.

I really liked how people's roles changed, some were REALLY interesting. Like Wendell being Booth's right hand man!

And Hodgins being the writer.. ohohoho. AND ZACH!!!!! ZACH BACK FOR EVEN A MOMENT

The first time she saw him, or rather paid attention when she saw him, she was just getting home after picking Max up from school. Her neighbor was in his front yard mowing his grass. He was wearing a backward baseball cap, a loose grey sleeveless shirt, and a pair of red shorts that had her slowing down to get a better look.

“What are you doing?”

Y/n quickly peered in her rearview mirror at her son, “Nothing. Just noticed that he’s got a neat garden gnome.” She silently scolded herself for being so obvious. But it was hard not to stare when he looked like that.

Max was getting old enough that he easily picked up on certain things. Like when Y/n was upset about something that happened at work he could tell by how detached she seemed, or how she acted a little more bubbly around her friends. How much younger she seemed when Lei hung out with them. And he definitely didn’t miss the way his mom stared out the window at the man mowing his grass.

When they got out of the car, Max stood and watched the guy pushing his lawnmower for a moment before Y/n poked at his shoulder, “Come on. Let’s get inside so I can make dinner.”

“He has a lot of tattoos.”

With a sigh she looked a few houses down at her handsome neighbor, and nodded, squeezing her son’s shoulder, “He does.”

“And nice trainers. Do you like him?” Max looked up at her.

“What?” She blew a laugh out, “I don’t know him. Why do you ask that?”

“Because he has a really cool car and you were staring at him. That’s what girls do when they like a boy.”

“Oh pish! You’re only 9. What do you know about all that? Go on. Get inside, silly boy.”

Max turned and ran up to the house, using his own key to unlock the door as Y/n pulled a bag of groceries from the boot of her car and chanced another peek at the tall man. He was sweating and appeared to be whistling, cheekbones more prominent as he puckered his lips. Of course, all she could hear was his lawnmower as he pushed the machine through the yard.

Very handsome. And his car was pretty cool.
