EPISODE 20 of Indie TMNT is UP!!! :)

This baby clocks in past eight minutes, becoming the longest episode of this series so far!! But it actually turned out to be one of the easiest to edit thanks to it’s lack of fight scenes. XD

Theme of Kuchizuke's story.

Hello. (￣▽￣)ノ I wanted to talk about the themes, personal experiences and fears I put into the first part of Deluding Moonlight AU, Kuchizuke.

First of,

! spoiler warning for the animation ! Please watch it before reading.

And second, the topics that I'm going to cover, as well as some scenes from animation, may be unpleasant to some people. I'll be covering: abuse, unhealthy relationships, depression and death.

With all that out of the way, let's begin.

Here's a fact: I'm not into shipping, even though the story of Deluding Moonlight is heavily tied to one character having an infatuation for another. I don't care about fanon romanization, kissing stuff or anything like that. I have favorite duos, such as Sonic & Amy, Knuckles & Rouge, Shadow & Maria, none of which I see in the romantic relationships and just enjoy their canonical dynamics. Some of them are funny, some comforting, I don't need to see them kissing or something. So if that's the case, how did I get to making this story? At first the idea of vampire Rouge just randomly came to mind when I listened to the song "BUCK-TICK — Kuchizuke". I thought it might be an interesting idea to make an animation of it. But since the song is heavily implied of love, obsession and passion, I had to think of a plot line that can accompany it. When it comes to characters, for me it's always important to keep their initial characterizations without significantly changing it. I probably should add that I'm only into Japanese Sonic, so I'm staying true to their original Japanese characterizations. Not including anything from the American side, as comics, tv shows and even dubs. And yes, there's no official Sonic couples (I'm talking games only) and I'm not going into fanon. What should I do? Well, there is one thing I can work with, and that is one-sided love. And thankfully, Rouge has it. On multiple occasions she's shown to have interest in Knuckles, flirting and mocking him. And as I said, I enjoy their fun dynamic.

So now on to building up the story. We're talking vampires, so deception and no mutual love were main points that I focused on. And that's where my personal stuff comes to play. The first one is:

Fear of abusive relationships.

As a child born in Russia, in a typical fashion I saw the horrors of dysfunctional family. I never got physical abuse myself from it, but I've been neglected by one parent and saw the suffering of another. Since the early childhood I didn't have normal ideas about love and relationships, because I simply didn't saw any. My psyche was affected, and I live with the trauma and fear ever since. I've never been in a relationship. All my life I could only analyze it by looking at others, which gave me an idea about what love is and that entering into a relationship with someone was a very important step. This cannot be neglected and done haphazardly. This is a union of two people, and understanding, compromise, and consideration of personal interests are important in it. Otherwise things can end up pretty badly.

Isn't that right?

And that's the part of me that's been reflected on Knuckles, but more on that later. First, we need to understand what parts of me were reflected on Rouge, and it was:

Depression.

I was in a depressive state for at least seven years. While depressive episodes have occasionally faded away, they reached their peak two years ago. That's when I succumbed to seclusion, intensive self-flagellating, imposter syndrome, feelings of rejection and uselessness. And for the first time I felt desperate for love. I have had a difficult time understanding my own feelings before, but back them it just got 200 times worse. I didn’t understand whether I felt love for the first time or was it something else completely? Did I really want to love, or did I just want someone to pity and comfort me? Do I really have friends and people I can trust, and do they accept me or just use me? I didn't know myself anymore. It's been hard and long way of figuring myself out, and only the huge possibility that I had autism explained everything that had happened to me throughout my life. That's when I accepted myself and was able to climb out of this deep hole that seemed bottomless. There's also another thing that really bothers me since my early years:

The fear of time passing.

I don't like changes, I don't like growing old and fading, I don't want to lose something or someone because their time has come. I fear death, future, the unknown. I never wanted my video-game characters to die and my own stories have always been stuck at one particular time without much moving forward. That's why I have always had a deep connection with vampires. That and the aesthetic, of course. That's should be all the main point, now let's see how all this falls on the characters. Starting with Knuckles.

Now I should mention, that out of all the Sonic character I can relate to Knuckles the most. His worldview, his social skills, his dedication to his life's work, his short-temper and so forth. And this is perfect, since it is so much easier for me to stay true to his character. Back to the personal stuff: several times I was in situations where some people wanted to date me. The thing was, I hadn't felt any attraction to any of these people, it was simply beyond my understanding. Not to mention I didn't know them for a long time, but after a few short conversations it seemed like they were seriously considering me their girlfriend. I treated them quite indulgently and friendly at first, but very soon I caught myself thinking that they just irritate me, and my attitude towards them was already beginning to border on hate. I just wanted them to leave me alone with their imposition of relationships. That personal experience pretty much resonates with Knuckles' role in Kuchizuke. He's been forced to fall in love with Rouge by her dark magic, and the latter didn't even took his own feeling into consideration. And his personal boundaries were not taken into account either.

To Rouge, Knuckles just been the possession. This approach to getting his love only led to hatred and ended up in the tragedy.

I kept Rouge's mysterious nature with her own goals and ways to achieve them. Back to the personal stuff once more: as I established before, I have a hard time understanding my own feelings, and at the peak of my depression I didn’t know how to deal with negative emotions at all. Perhaps that's why I felt the need for a soulmate for the first time. But was it love? Now it seems to me more that my special interest simply fell on a certain person who filled the voids in my soul and brightened up the endless stream of negative thoughts. Even so, I find my past self quite selfish, because I only wanted my own happiness with that person, even though the feeling obviously weren't mutual. However, it is also worth clarifying that I didn't have enough courage or social skills even to make any moves, most of the times simply living in my own world of illusions. But when I got out of depression, this not-love of mine simply vanished. So, this is were the theme comes from. Obsession and the desire to be with someone who can fill your mental emptiness. Of course, regardless of the opinion of this very person. The romanticized scenes of a "dream date" were mear delusion, having nothing to do with the real feelings of a person she loved.

I will explore Rouge's character more in the future, so keep in mind some of the stuff I said.

In conclusion.

Through this tragic tale of one-sided love I really wanted to say something simple yet very important:

Love is not a fairy tale.

and relationships are a very serious step for both parties, where understanding, compromises and trust are important. Love in this story is a complete self—deception and manipulation, with selfish motives and a sad outcome.

When I say I used to be into homestuck I mean I only got into it because my friends in fifth grade were into it and I tried reading the comic on my kindle fire and didn’t realize that I was supposed to open the pesterlogs and the flashes weren’t supported in my browser so most of my knowledge of homestuck came from comic dubs on YouTube and ask blogs on tumblr LOL (thank you @shubbabang for being an important part of my childhood) so when I say this please know I am RUSTY.

I think Azura would be a space player and Bronwyn would be the time player because Azura is all about creation and making stuff and her association with the Titans + creation… and Bronwyn because her association with animals (doves) death, the passage of time, etc! So they’d have a successful session!

The name “Franz” came from a character I saw on a Brazilian Youtuber (who I really liked, his name is “Pedrokys”) dubbing/voicing the comic “Lebre e Coelho”. And as I really liked the comic and the “dubbing”, I decided to name her of one of the main characters, who is the well-known “Franz”! Oh, and here's the link for the video :]

(one detail, yesterday I re-watched this dub [because it's been a LONG TIME like- A REALLY LONG TIME since I looked and hadn't even been on this YouTuber's channel, so who would have thought to watch any of his videos..... But as I decided to make “interesting facts” about Franz, it was obvious that I would have to look/watch this dubbing again to remember “the good old days” :D], and my friend... how I missed this comic- unfortunately it had to be re-made because the first video was copyrighted, but it's still the same thing, so I highly recommend Brazilians or anyone who wants to, go and see it!!)

Her power to have “tentacles”, it was “kind of” inspired by “Ben Hargreeves” from The Umbrella Academy.. And yes, this one is really without much of a “secret”😅

About the paint on her face, no, I wasn't inspired by Bendy! In fact, I was just making a drawing at school of a random character, and as I was also very much in the “weirdcore era”, I decided to add touches like this with paint on the face and a tongue that also looks like a “tentacle”. (here's the drawing for those who haven't seen it yet↓)

She really likes to eat flowers.. Yes... You didn't read it wrong, she really like to eat flowers...... And “why is that?” Well, she says that as they have a good smell, she usually eats them to put that smell in her mouth. Sometimes, in addition to this smell remaining in the mouth, the body stabilizes the smell in other parts of the body as well, such as the neck and wrists. And no, it’s not “all” types of flowers that she eats, okay? There are just a few of the flowers that she thinks are beautiful and smell good.

Oh, “and the taste of flowers?” Well, in fact, some flowers don't have any taste at all, she just like to eat it. Because for her, this is sometimes a “snack” when there is no meat. Her “second” species is very hungry for meat, and any type of meat will do (even human, in SOME cases), but when there is none, she actually eats flowers. And yes, they are “just” flowers, as well as vegetables, plants and the like, she only eats them once in a while, but she admits that she doesn’t like them very much.

The clothes she likes to wear most are skirts and blouses, sometimes dresses she also wears and likes them a lot. Wearing pants, she says that she don't feel very comfortable, besides being very tight (she hates tight things other than a skirt, dress, blouse or something like that).

She loves long boots, especially in black (she has about 3 of the same boots, she just bought them in different places).

In addition to Calopsita, Franz also studied a little medicine, she didn't take a course but she learned and improved some techniques with her parents. Today she doesn't use her “doctor” skills much, but if needs it, she is one of the right people to ask for help.

And last but not least, she loves paintings and loves seeing or hearing the author/artist talk about the process of how they were made. She says that each painting brings her a different feeling, and the ones she likes most are the ones with white flowers.. Because it brings the sign of peace that she was unable to have for most of her childhood. And also because it's a color that reminds her how to stay calm or concentrate on something, a color that helps and makes her someone very different from what others think she is...

It’s midwinter and been damn cold lately (by our standards) so this has been my nighttime balcony reading. Getting insight into how people in the 19th century perceived the last blank spots on the map and processed that by writing speculative/horror/weird fiction about it has been fascinating

Three because I can, first two were the past two nights at home and the third was the last I saw in theatre. I was talking about wings (1927) at work the other day and it activated another silent movie fixation. Beggars of life is now in my top ten. Deeply moving. It’s also been cold and snowy lately and the great silence was a snow western that’d been sitting on my list. Bleak as hell, I bounced between the Italian and English audios before settling on the surprisingly good English dub, but it’s a shame that audio track is compressed to shit. Flow I saw in theatre a couple weeks ago and it was incredible. Beautiful, compelling, I cried a lot.

A formative childhood favorite of mine and the recent comic revival had me feeling nostalgic. Problematic as shit sometimes, oddly not at others, but I’m deeply attached. Race and Benton were a queer awakening for young me

Was talking about actors becoming fucked up presidents for obvious reasons, which meandered to Reagan, the AIDS crisis, and Rock Hudson, and I wanted to get his final public statement that Lancaster read at the Commitment to Life fundraiser right

I am not the Going Out type, but committed to joining the queer country line dancing community near me a year and a half ago and it’s one of the best things I ever did for myself. Line dancing at the gay club scratches a magical itch and I do it at least once a week

I love brown. Lovely color, so many shades, can be bright and warm or dark and muted. Makes up the second most common color in my wardrobe after black (another favorite but not as interesting/insightful)

I don’t have much of a sweet tooth, but I will munch salty snacks, savory cheeses, or smoky meats all day long

I discovered that a Norton Critical edition was published a few years ago and have been diving into that. I also adopted two cats last month and they are everything to me.

norway is scary because it's so small. one time I went to see the Teen Drama of the Year with school and the leading guy was literally sitting right behind me. we had been making fun of the cringe marketing of it for WEEKS and then we were told we had to be nice in the theater because he literally went to the same school as us.

one of my brothers' friends is a faceless artist whose art I am exposed to on the daily, both irl and on the internet.

one time my arts and crafts teacher put my comic up on the wall in the hallway and the most profilic comic artist in the country, whom I ADORED, just showed up. and asked to see me. (he said he liked it and I exploded internally)

SEVERAL of my former teachers appear on national television on the weekly.

there are so many dub voice actors just roaming around. my cousin's classmate was child Anna in Frozen. my other cousin's teacher is currently Nya in Ninjago.

I went to my friend's school once and met the guy who directed my childhood favorite movie.

now that I think about it I've probably met a bunch of actual celebrities in passing but due to my face blindness (and general disinterest in anything that isn't silly cartoons) I just didn't know. kinda scary thought. be careful in Norway, fellow faceblind friends. anyone you meet could be a celebrity.

Thought Week: Undyne

Undyne. Oh, Undyne Undyne Undyne. Oh, shoot. I can't think of an intro. So I'm just gonna get into it.

(You know the drill by now, I think. If you have any thoughts about Undyne, please please PLEASE leave them in the notes.)

First Impressions

I think I first encountered Undyne during my own playthrough? I never really saw her in any comic dubs or songs, which were my first exposure to Undertale. And I don't particularly remember watching other people play the game either, besides DanTDM and Jacksepticeye, of course (my childhood YouTubers besides Stampy and Squid). I knew she was the third boss and Papyrus' friend somehow (idk when, I just did). That's all I knew about her.

My earliest memory with Undyne was struggling at her boss fight during my first playthrough because I couldn't figure out how to spare her, and I was terrible at blocking her attacks, ESPECIALLY HER YELLOW BACKWARDS ONES!!!

Excuse my language, but THIS IS BULLSHIT! It's because of HER that I ended up resetting the entire game because I didn't get good enough healing items. SCREW YOU, UNDYNE!

So, yeah. Tough boss.

My Impressions Now

When it comes to playing the actual game, Undyne is my third favourite character to be with. She is a super fun, super passionate character that makes everything more exciting! Her "date" is actually amongst one of my favourite scenes in the game just because of how fun and silly it was! I don't know if you can tell, but I love lighthearted, silly, goofy stuff, so this was right up my alley!

(Jeebus, Undyne, no need to be so aggressive, I just wanted a drink lol)

In terms of depth and issues, she doesn't exactly stand out compared to characters like Sans, Alphys and Asgore, but honestly, I still think she's a complex character in her own right! It just doesn't seem like it because there are a lot of other characters with mental health issues and angst while Undyne... doesn't really have any of that? She's a fun, confident, tough warrior who takes it upon herself to protect the hopes and dreams of every monster in the underground. Although, on the other hand, Undyne taking so much responsibility on her shoulders means that she's prone to blaming herself whenever a fellow monster gets hurt because she's unable to protect them. She cares a LOT about her fellow monsters, so while she rightfully hates you if you kill people after befriending her, she's also angry at herself too.

(I skipped over some dialogue, but here's the gist of it)

I like how loyal she is and how fun she is. She's generally a very enjoyable character. Unlike Sans and Papyrus, who I love to dissect and analyse, I just like Undyne because she's got really awesome scenes, a bunch of passion, and a really enjoyable fight (that caused me to reset, forgiven, but not forgotten). Also, her determination. HOW ON EARTH DID SHE GET DETERMINED ENOUGH TO BRING HERSELF BACK TO LIFE TEMPORARILY?!?! That is an AWESOME power!!!! She isn't just a monster. She is a BEAST. And I love her for it.

Undyne and her Complicated Relationship with Humanity

A lot of fans mentioned something about her prejudice against humans, and while that's a part of it, it doesn't seem to be the whole picture when it comes to her thoughts about humanity.

Let's start off with the prejudice side of things. She does hold a bit of prejudice towards humans, like a lot of monsters do. And it's not like she doesn't have a reason for that. When you think about it, it's a pretty understandable character flaw to have with a character like Undyne, someone who wants to make everyone's hopes and dreams come true. In her eyes, humans have denied her people their rightful freedom. She wants to claim the last soul so she can bring them that freedom. Like I stated earlier, she cares very deeply for her people. She takes her position as the Head of the Royal Guard extremely seriously, despite her otherwise "overdramatic anime protagonist" attitude.

And come to think of it, this is mostly just speculation, but she's really close to Asgore. Surely she must have heard the story of how his kids died at the hands of humans. Surely she must know how much killing humans takes a toll on Asgore. She definitely knows that he's a big softie at the end of the day. So it wouldn't be a stretch to assume that maybe she wants to take the last human soul so he wouldn't have to do it? Sure, her main motivations mostly involve herself and her people's hopes and dreams, but she could be doing it for Asgore too. I dunno, it's more of a hunch than anything. Take it with a grain of salt.

But here's where things get more complicated. Everything Undyne knows about humans comes from "human history" AKA anime. And she's clearly a huge fan of it! She's outright disappointed in the mercy route when it turns out that you're a merciful wimp, at least until you change her mind.

So she doesn't see humans as all bad. She thinks they're cool. Also, consider how fast she becomes friends with you after you deal a super wimpy punch to her. Like seriously, that's all it took? A trick from Papyrus and then a disastrous friendship date was all it took to get her to change her mind about you? People with prejudices in real life, as I've heard, are really stubborn and set in their ways, and then Undyne comes in and after a day, she's like, "Nah, we're not enemies anymore." Freaking love this woman.

The Narrative

Undyne is an amazing support for other characters, I've realised. She's close with depressed King Asgore, she's Papyrus' first friend besides you and his own brother, and of course, there's her relationship and crush on Alphys. And like Papyrus, she's a crucial stepping stone for you to get the best ending. It seems that your chances of getting everyone to the surface hinges on whether you can befriend Undyne or not. It's her love letter that allowed you to befriend Alphys, after all.

She's also pretty realistic in her reactions if you kill literally ANYONE. Imagine if someone came into your community, a community that you swore to protect with your life, and killed someone, or even multiple people. Like, why would anyone want to befriend someone like that? Seriously, killing ONE person is enough for Undyne to hate you forever. And it's even worse if you befriend her and THEN kill a guy. To her, that's the ultimate betrayal! So, yeah! Pretty realistic, I'd say! It definitely puts into light how much of a scumbag you are if you kill anyone.

And then there's the murder route! She's among the toughest monsters in the Underground, so managing to kill her Undyne the Undying form really puts into perspective how hopeless the situation is for the monsters in the underground. She was their guardian, their light. She actually had a chance of beating you, and let's be real, she probably beat you over a dozen times by the time you finally got to her. And it was her death that triggered Alphys to evacuate the survivors, too. Her Undying battle has a bigger impact than you might expect. After all, at that point, there was no one left that could possibly take you on except Asgore and Mettaton, to the monsters' knowledge. I doubt they knew about Sans' abilities, anyway. So for them, Undyne was their best shot. It's heartbreaking, really.

Conclusion

So, Undyne! Very fun character, definitely in my top three favourite characters! She's so passionate and it rubs off on me easily. I still haven't forgotten that time she made me reset because I didn't have very good healing items... HAHAHAHAHA, I will never forget. I can't wait to write her, she's a blast!

I think folks were just as excited as I was since the game came out like 2-3 weeks before I started drawing this comic with multiple a day updates as in class doodles or in between class? not sure 2) without spoilers, I love using color to symbolize stuff. And everyone's choices mattered. 3) I was originally planning on making it a short slice of life comic, someone issued me a challenge to add more feels- so I made it similar to how I formatted my Fnaf Comic where it was based on a Choose-Your-own-adventure style where the playable character the audience controls choose which paths we'd go on. So I made a GIANT worldbuilding binder and a crazy amount of notes on all the different routes everyone could take. 4) Because they're in a gray glow (in the character's perspective) I also go through to make sure they look different than the main characters, so its even more clearly obvious about that. Granted, in my lil Au Gaster is Sans and Papyrus's older brother If you get a chance you can either rewatch the dub that I believe is still on Youtube or re-read the comic to catch up! I'm hoping the ending will be at least fun enough of a ride for everyone tho

actually thats why ive been censoring swears in comics lately because the tmnt fandom comes across to me as a little young...IDK I've had MULTIPLE people ask me what "sodomize" means because of the joke in this post and I'm like... I Cannot be the one to explain this to you. you have to look it up on your own klfsdhsdg like i wouldn't be doing this if i were doing a comic for mgs or even homestuck wherein the characters textually swear constantly LOL but sometimes u gotta change tacks depending on the faces u see in the crowd yknow.

i HAVE been thinking abt drawing nsfw of sunspot/richard rider/kobak from x-men red just because that comic seemed to be really asking for it. who knows.. if the need rly arises maybe my separate account policy will change.

its rly more a matter of the fact that i havent read/watched much of any other iterations... im sure id like most lol. I like most things related to my interests regardless of quality. i rly like the marvel ultimate alliance games for instance. sometimes seeing my fave guy is enough he doesnt have to be well written LOL. i dont exactly have a wealth of free time tho thats the real impediment.

i did watch the 2007 movie on new years eve and found it quite charming overall. and i have read about 30-40 issues between the mirage and idw comics. still feels like im barely scratching the surface but i liked em. i rly want to read all the sophie campbell stuff bc i think her work is interesting. jason aaron will be a mixed bag i think lmao. i say as the worlds biggest Wolverine and the X-Men (2011) fan.

hmm this is kinda hard bc i feel like i naturally draw very loose and the hard part for me is tightening it up. maybe some suggestions tho...

1) hand excercises. i think its easy to forget this when many artists sit in front of the computer all day but drawing is a physical activity u do with ur actual...bodys...muscles lol. if u feel urself tightening up it might help to strech (any google search for "artist hand excercises" should yield good results) or do a page of loose practice strokes like..big circles. long lines. scribbles. that kinda thing. whatever feels good for ur hand. this is also just good to do as a general warm up before u sit down for any drawing sesh.

2) draw further away from the canvas. as a general rule...when ur painting traditionally you do the big strokes with your whole arm outstreched and a long handled brush. and when you do the details its smaller wrist movements and a shorter handled brush. so it might help to take a step back or push back from ur chair a little.. or hold ur tablet a little further away. and hold your pen further away from the nib.

3) change mediums / brush types. some brushes and mediums are more suited to loose sketching and some more inclined towards detail work. so changing ur tool could help. also! i personally have this problem where sometimes if im using a brush i feel really familiar with the pressure to make a "good" "finished" "perfect" drawing is greater... if i want to force myself to loosen up ill switch to a tool i dont use as often so it feels like the pressure is off. a lot of times for me this is switching from digital to traditional. but sometimes its switching from a small pen to a big marker. or a smooth pen to a textured one. or a nice brush to a shitty dried up marker.

but also every body is different so i dont think these tips will work for everyone. u should listen to what ur body and mind tell u and how drawing feels to you

well. scott mcclouds understanding comics and making comics are good books on the craft. i think i had to buy them for a class in art school once.

other than that idk just keep at it. comics are really laborious i think for a lot of people the hardest part is sitting down and doing it.

i think a lot of people have a very instinctive understanding of how to read comics and what they look like so whatever you think seems like good way to tell the story you have in mind, its probably right. if u get stuck, study comics that have done something similar. most people in comics are relatively self taught and actually it can be problematic bc you can tell when a lot of comic artists are all copying the same like 5 old white guys LMAO. but on the flip side if you make sure to reference and study broadly your comics will almost assuredly feel unique.

Sinner

She's a TV headed sinner, with a square head that is, more or less, even on adjacent sides. She has wide cat-like eyes with white slit pupils, almost like the bottom of a heart, her eye outlined in black as if she's wearing makeup. Her mouth is comprised of several sharp and skinny teeth that are layered, the second rows (both top and bottom) looking like a duplication glitch on her screen. There's typically spaces in between them that show off the black void that is her mouth. Her claws are also skinny and quite sharp, inward facing on both her hands and her feet. Her antennas are a dark gray, wrapped together to make a triangle on her head that looks like a shark fin. She is lithe with curves, having shark fins on her wrists and the top of her legs, along with a shark tail coming from her behind. She still maintains her "masculine" body from life.

Her screen and skin are a light gray, while her eyes are a pinkish red, as are her buttons, her teeth, claws, and the blood like splatter on her lower half, going up to the middle of her arms and torso. This detail is also on many of the black trench coats she wears, Cor just seeing it as an interesting accent she wants to show off. The frame of her screen is a dark gray, as is the plastic of her neck, blending in well with the black of her coats. She typically wears tight black pants and matching pointed boots as well.

I apologize, I got a little lost in my description there! Cor is unaware she is so colorless, seeing the world in whatever color her eyes are at the time. In this case, red. This is why the illusion or projected version of herself she's created is all red as well! Nobody tell her.

Personality

To the outside world, Cor is one of the only powerful sinners who actually cares about the people of Hell. She's altruistic, heartfelt, charismatic, and trustworthy. In person, her constant cheerfulness can come off as creepy, and many note she is quite careful when it comes to her actions and words, which makes her appear thoughtful. Whether someone thinks this is for better or for worse highly depends on the individual!

Yet, beneath this public façade, Cor's personality could be described as grumpy at worst, sardonic at best, and considerably pessimistic about the state of Hell overall. Not to mention, when she isn't masking so intensely, she can be known to be clumsy, vulgar, and her agreeability is replaced with an often shocking amount of bluntness. Yet, she tries to suppress these "flaws" to appear more likable to others. I find them quite charming personally.

He's interested in sharks, singing, dancing, video games, and is known as an excellent cook.

Past (tw bullying, homophobia)

Cor had what some may call a troubled childhood, with a distant mother and a father considered the "local hero", always helping others and rarely his own family. Though they were well off, Cor always sought a more personal relationship with her father that he'd never give her. During her teenage years, Cor was bullied for being a more feminine "man", and even more relentlessly so for her tendency to say "inappropriate things". Social rules were never her forte. She was viewed as a pervert and a jerk due to misunderstandings and despite never meaning any harm. Her father wasn't of much help, simply telling her to just turn the other cheek. Cor left the house the moment she could when she turned eighteen.

As an adult, Cor worked as a TV host who spread false information and took bribes. An old bully from Cor's high school days ended up working for Cor without her realizing, lying low and getting evidence of Cor's corruption over the years. When he was satisfied with what he'd gathered, he threatened to expose Cor, causing Cor to shake one of her dressing room shelves in a fit of anger. A TV fell on her head as a result. To think life can be so fleeting at times.

This is a summary based on what she's told me. She gets very little enjoyment from discussing such things, so I suspect there are some important details missing.

Relationships

She works with Queen and Saccharin in the entertainment district, seeming fairly close to Queen, though I won't pretend to understand her relationship with Saccharin. The same can be said of her relationship Tripster. They seem to trust and distrust each other in equal measure. Though, beneath the hesitance, there is genuine care. Lee and Cor also get along quite swimmingly thanks to their similar personalities, and have since started calling each other "gummymates", whatever that means. She's best friends with Brutus, though in a competitive hero and villain sort of way. Cor has a deep bond with Lyre they seem to be trying to keep a secret. She is good friends with Brook, though they rarely get to see each other.

The Dororo thing is so real, I think its so interesting how Kururu and Dororo both have odd ones out loners spying on their friends vibes but Kururu actually hangs out with them very often and Dororo is an actual loner. I cant remember if this gag was present in the early seasons now that I think about it but he literally starts leaving a cardboard cutout of himself instead of going to the meetings. Which like can you even blame him. I think one more little part of it is like, do you want to invite the guy who doesnt want to invade to the invasion meeting just for him to get upset? Dororo might even be aware considering the cutout but then he can still come across a bit like why didnt you invite me to the cause distress to the planet party :( Kind of a silly situation. Theres a stupid manga panel where he has a goddamn wooden computer. There was a relatively recent chapter where Keroro got a goddamn catgirl vtuber avatar made by Kururu so he could stream and all the others were blushing watching him and Dororo pulled out a phone?! Its the exact same as Kururus but with his symbol put on it instead of Kururus so I imagined Kururu might have gotten him that. I cant imagine he knows anything but taking pictures. Actually it might be a bad idea to accept a phone from Kururu but that might depend on the day. It seems I would gullibly accept anything he gives me

Not inviting Dororo places might be more egregious in the manga because I think Koyuki lives like in the next house over but I dont think it gets mentioned a lot? But I also dont remember if the universe is quite as cartoonishly mean to him in the manga. Early seasons vs later seasons vs manga is real hard to keep track of when you start thinking about it. Another autistic thing they added to Kururu later is that he starts making nyo noises almost as much as ku noises, he can say nyo? when surprised, he snores nyoooonyooo when he sleeps, he can sing nyoonyonyonyooo when pressing buttons, hell say nyo! anytime just because, even makes a nyaa once, and generally makes progressively crazier sillier sounds because the voice actor started adlibbing like crazy. It kind of ends up reading like him relaxing and opening up compared to him getting called gloomy before. Oh my God I get so carried away so quickly talking about those frogs

THIS IS ALL SO CRAZY. when you've had a series thats been going for so long its bound to get pretty inconsistent and pretty crazy after a while LOL... the sheer amount of episodes and the extreme variation in quality is partially why i stick to the funimation dub (and a handful of the comics). im the type of autistic who watches and rewatches over and over and likes to be able to memorize the episodes - enough to have at least a vague idea of the scenes in sequence in every episode.... when you have like 300+ episodes and 5 movies combined with spinoffs and an ungodly amount of manga that's just not feasible. there are a handful of other reasons why i consider myself "funimation dub exclusive" (mostly due to the fact that i just prefer the voice acting, characterization and sense of humor)

OF COURSE KERORO WOULD BE A VTUBER. and kululu would be able to make him an avatar in like 45 minutes flat. i kind of subconciously bring them into the modern era in a lot of ways - mostly just because i think its funny to imagine keroro forcing tamama to venmo him 10 yen for taking a sip from his latte or something. there's always so much comedic plot potential with these guys its like they can squeeze an episode out of anything

For the vaxleth childhood friend au I could see slight changes to their personalities. The protective nature of the twins extending to Keyleth. Vex viewing her as a sister before they are separated and letting Keyleth see her weaker moments without hiding them.

Keyleth being a bit more knowledgeable of the outside world. She would also be a little more willing to play along with some of Vax's pranks. I could see her being able to lie a bit better. Maybe get a few of Scanlan's dirty joke, but they still make her blush.

Vax still flirts, but less so because he knows it could hurt Keyleth. He is a less affectionate when they first leave, since he is worried about the Clasp. He doesn't want anyone to ever use her or his feelings against him like that again. To the point that the others in the group don't know Vax and Keyleth are dating. When they realize that the others don't know and think that Keyleth is a overly naive and innocent they go with it. They try to see how long before someone figures it out. It isn't hard to act normal since the group shared a room in the early days. Keyleth would pretended to get even less of Scanlan's jokes. Percy, if he meets them the normal way, is the 1st to catch on. Since he did befriend Keyleth first out of the group. He doesn't think Vax deserves Keyleth, but also feels he is too new to say anything and that it is funny that the others are clueless.

During their 1st Winter's Crest Keyleth has had enough of Scanlan making jokes she can't laugh at and inviting Vax out to the Ladies favor houses. She mentions she has a boyfriend. They all think it is one of those made up things. She has the mistletoe decorations on her circlet and Vax gets frozen before he can correct them.

When they get back and find him unfrozen, he kisses her. Scanlan simply says that it means they can't be on watch together.

I don't see the Briarwoods inviting people, only because they used the isolation of Whitestone to their advantage. So I think Percy met the group the same way he did in the comics. But he did reveal his back story to team half elf. Maybe they get separated from the group and Keyleth is injured, causing Percy to flash back.

I have this cute idea that the 1st night Keyleth spent with them the twins fought over where she would sleep. So they built a fort between the twins bed and dubbed it fort half-elf. The only other person allowed in was Elaina. They slept in it until Korrin came. After that they would build fort half elf every time they got together, different versions of course.

I totally agree with you, I think that Keyleth being less naive totally fits with this au and I think that that stops her from feeling like an outsider in the group. She still has a lot of anxiety about not fitting in, but it's easier to manage because she knows that she fits in with the twins.

I love the development of Kiki and Vex's relationship. Vex is jealous of Keyleth at first, but it doesn't take long for her to see that Keyleth is her sister and she's not trying to take Vax from her. After that, they're really close and Keyleth is able to help her a bit more with her feelings of worth. I can just imagine when they were little, Keyleth making Vex a crown of sticks and flowers and declaring that she's a princess. Keyleth teasingly reminds Vex of that whenever she's feeling too down on herself.

I loveeee the idea of Keyleth helping with pranks, but no one suspects her so she gets away with so many more things. Vax pretends to be annoyed with it, but he honestly thinks it's so funny because Keyleth helps him come up with so many ideas.

I do disagree with Keyleth hiding part of herself from the group, I think that she would rather fit in and be able to laugh at some of the jokes. There are some that she doesn't really understand, but she leans over and asks Vex to explain it. And then Keyleth blushes for an hour.

thinking about how I got into tf2 is so hilarious because it was one big string of events I might’ve talked about it before but I forgot

big post warning- I didn’t mean to write this much

it all started about 2-3 years ago… I was watching Minecraft brainrot when a matpat video about Minecraft(maybe it was another thing idk I assume it’s Minecraft) was in my recommended to me. This, friends, was the turning point in my life that possibly saved my childhood. I watched matpats videos until falling upon one about undertale. It fascinated me, who was this sans the skeleton and his brother papyrus? I slowly became obsessed with undertale… my very first fandom. I watched so many undertale comic dubs that it was probably unhealthy. This eventually led to deltarune. Dear god I was the worst spamton simp. But slowly, ever so slowly, the hyperfixtation started to fade away as I discovered Pinterest. Voila. Scp. I see funny plague doctor man and I think he’s interesting. I watch scp memes but the hyperfixtation fades quickly. One fateful day, chikn nuggit appears on YouTube sharts. I fell in love with it immediately. Truly wonderful. But alas, after watching all the episodes 3 times over, with no new content, it too faded away and became a distant memory… I go back to Pinterest, and rediscover scp. Now instead of being more into the scps themselves, I become a doctor fan… Dr iceberg was my favorite, until I discovered alto clef. I am not kidding when I say I have read almost every single page on the scp wikidot with clef tagged on it. Up until now my hyperfixtations had been lasting for up to 2 months at most(except for undertale I think that one was 6 months) but there was so much content on the wikidot that it fueled my hyperfixtation. That’s when, one fateful day on Pinterest, I discover these wonderful Microsoft paint drawings. I fall in love with them immediately. But I cannot find the original artist because the asshole posting them didn’t link them. But my friend who was also in the scp fandom at the time discovered a silly animation with the same art style, I looked at the channel and discovered their tumblr. I found all their doodles and they were so wonderful and amazing. During this period, I had felt like my hyperfixtation was slowly disappearing, but these doodles saved it. Until… one fateful day… they posted hlvrai au art. At first I paid no mind. “Ah. These are funny.” Is what I thought. Then I ended up really liking how the characters were designed, so I decide to watch hlvrai. At first, I am doodling the funny parts as characters from scp. Then I realize I really like hlvrai. I go to tumblr and I start looking at the tag. Yes. These are wonderful characters. This marks the end of the second scp phase. One fateful day, as I am scrolling the hlvrai tag, I come across a link. To AO3. I have never heard of ao3 before. It is a fanfiction about Benrey and Gordon falling in love. I read it. I love it. I look for more. I discover the fanfiction “human resource violation.” Truly wonderful and completely irrelevant to what im saying. I discovered ao3 from hlvrai. Soon later, I discover what being trans is. I realized that I may be trans. Wonderful. What else will I discover from hlvrai? Valve. Half-life. Portal specifically. I love these games. They are so fun. I play portal, and I go onto Pinterest to find art. And that’s when I see this silly little creature with a gas mask. Its name, Pyro. I immediately fall in love with this little creature. But I still love hlvrai. But the hlvrai hyperfixtation is old, and I am fascinated by this “pyro” and the other 8 “mercenaries” so I draw pyro. I put the drawing in my phone case. Wonderful! I am now in love with tf2. But that isn’t it. At first, I just scrolled Pinterest, but I didn’t really like it that much. So I decide to go back to tumblr.

That’s when I discover from a post that there are videos made by valve about the mercenaries. I watch all of them and expiration date and end of the line. I fall in love with these sfms. And also scout. I love scout a lot. I kin him, and start drawing him. That’s when I discover speeding bullet. Amazing name, and I love them. I read a few fics about them on ao3 and this is also when I discover that ao3 tf2 was not the same as ao3 hlvrai. When I’m scrolling on tumblr, I see a post about a series called team neighborhood. Still one of my favorite series. I watch it. And now there’s more tf2 related videos on my yt fyp. Amazing! I watch all of them. One day, im on tumblr again when I discover something interesting. Painis cupcake and freak fortress. I think this is fucking hilarious and I find out there’s a whole page of all the freaks on fandom. I have watched nearly all the videos. This is when I start noticing soldier more and how awesome he is. I have literally never been hyperfixtated on a character like soldier before. The earlier ones were all twinks. I think soldiers really funny, so I look for more content.

I get interested in boots n bombs. I love boots n bombs. I don’t want to ship red soldier with anyone because I still really like red solly and Zhanna, so I decide to make ocs for helmet party since at the time I wasn’t sure about multi shipping, and helmet party seemed interesting. Now, the birth of my literally favorite ocs ever, honeysuckler and honeysuckle. I get hyperfixtated on them and now they have a whole plot line made up in my head and I decide to make more OCs. There is an entire au now. Then, as I would like to call it, the dark ages. I still liked tf2, but I just didn’t really feel hyperfixtated on anything. That’s when I rediscover freak fortress. Yippie! All is well and a few months go by. I realize this is my longest hyperfixtation yet (7-8 months now) and now I’ve kind of settled down with tf2. I think one of the main reasons I’ve been hyperfixtated on tf2 for so long is because of all the content. Freak fortress is a whole other thing with a shit ton of series, and then there’s sfms and series like team neighborhood. But this literally could have taken a completely different turn if I didn’t watch that one matpat video. Also the person with the silly mspaint doodles liked overwatch, so I could’ve become hyperfixtated on overwatch instead and could’ve despised tf2.

Wow that was a lot myb
