someone (we call them "apple anon") sent an ask suggesting "apples" as a prompt for the next febuwhump. i was not on board. therefore, everyone feels the need to prove me wrong about what a good prompt it is, and convince me into liking it by spamming my inbox with alternate apple concepts, apple facts, apple allergies and then just plain asking me if i even like fruit seeing as i believe apples to be so mid.

probably, if i let apples get to the prompt poll, it will be the most voted prompt and everyone will have to write something about apples in february. i think this will look silly from the outside and result in febuwhump getting memed on. it is bad optics. the community does not care

I've been gone for a while due to work and other real life stuff, but goddammit!

This past week was an entire lifetime!

TW: pets getting sick

One of my dogs almost passed away, had to have emergency surgery cuz he had eaten plastic that got stuck in his stomach and intestine, and now I'm poorer than I was before.

And just when he was starting to get better, his stitches became inflamed so I hurried him back to the vet, spent even more money that I didn't have, but I was happy cuz it wasn't anything major.

TWO days later, he developed an abscess on his thigh and I hurry him back to the vet cuz I thought he was dying again.

Anywho...

This little fucker is getting better, trying to give me heart attacks on a daily as he insists on trying to eat inedible things and I have no money to speak of. But my heart is full cuz he's not going anywhere ❤️❤️❤️

bear's mother met her wife when bear was a few years old and they officially tied the knot when he was in elementary school. bear spent most of his life with them, going back and forth between evergreen harbor and tartosa every weekend, until his teenage years when he decided to move in with his father officially.

orson, bear, and gino moved into a townhouse in willow creek for better education as well as just to have a larger space to fit the whole family's lifestyle.

it turned out, however, bear actually held quite a bit of resentment against his father for what he had put his mother through, and he hated that orson seemed to love his new boyfriend over his mother and him. he was quite jealous over the new boyfriend- and this was made especially evident when orson skipped bear's birthday party in order to go on a date with gino, who then proposed to him. yikes!

it was evident orson loved his son and was trying his very best (even though he could be a bit egotistical at times), but that didn't erase the distance in his relationship with bear.

meanwhile, while the household had an extra slot, kirsten and alena, bear's mothers, decided to have another baby. chasity was a sperm donor baby born when bear turned 18.

on the morning of his wedding, orson had a heart attack that resulted in his death. bear didn't want to live alone with his dead dad's fiancé, and so he ran away to oasis springs, where he now sleeps on the living room pull-out couch of some guy he met on social bunny.

What's actually going on is that there's an indie perfume company called sucrebeille that does a bunch of like funky and offbeat scent themes like "Cthulhu rising" or whatever. They apparently have a partnership with some podcast companies (maybe just rusty quill?? Is Old Gods of Appalachia part of the rusty quill network right now?) To do some tie in scents! Old Gods of Appalachia had one first, but then the Magnus archives got a tie in scent and the scent is specifically "Jon and Martin" and is supposed to smell like tea and old books and amber to kind of like. Represent their relationship. Now is making a fictional podcast romance into an Official Tie In Product Perfume a weird pull? Yes. Is it the weirdest merch I've seen? No I'm a comic book fan. I've been through the trenches I have the spiderman rock opera (NOT spiderman turn off the dark. This one is from the 70s and it's fantastic) but yeah. Jmart perfume. I bought the sample size (1ml for 16 bucks including shipping and some stickers) because I was honestly SO fucking curious and also the scent notes sounded nice. And now I might .... get the full bottle...maybe...
