gosh i hate to further call attention to anon but my timeline is a mess despite my meticulous curation but something that genuinely irks me—to a degree that pushed me into sliding into your inbox, im sorry—is how these people completely ignore the existence of v and jimin’s relationship? im not bringing anything new to the table w this but it’s crazy that whoever between jm and v interacts with jk “”more”” is the reigning boyfriend but god forbid v and jm might have anything beyond <<Platonic>> Soulmates. and even if we took a step back from romantic shipping—this whole ship war whatever nEver takes into account v and jimin’s relationship. everything about them and their interactions are omitted. they dont exist beyond orbiting the center if this shitstorm: jk (to no fault of his). its not revolutionary but if we’re going off anon’s logic, it’s relevant.

im really weirded out by this one-minded, tunnel vision whatever the fuck (am i allowed to swear? apologies) thing going on thats growing Exponentially in this fandom (at present) that This interaction Equals This Conclusion, no exceptions. no action is inherently anything until the ppl involve make it something. vibing at a concert isnt inherently romantic. people kiss and fuck ppl they Dont have romantic feelings for. ppl are ppl and ppl do things. i know this is coming off rlly redundant bc shipping is part of fandom culture and things escalating is kind of,, inevitable,, but must the majority go out of their way to behave like children on the cusp of learning social norms and cues for the first time? its awfully pitiable.

Rambling is okay here and so is cursing! You would have to have the patience of a saint to not curse in this hellscape I hate so much to love (I only do this for Jikook, I swear).

I think the reason why Vmin gets pushed to the side is because they're not really a "threat," which is stupid as hell, because if anyone depicts a true sense of what love can look like, it's Vmin. I only wish I had been drawn to Vmin from the start because they're drama-free for the most part. And I think if there was any drama, it never gets quite so hostile. I wouldn't know for sure, but the Vmin fandom seems to be having a fantastic time minding their own business.

But that in itself says a lot, doesn't it? The common denominator is Jungkook, and there's an inherent, unsaid claim to him. He's kind of the reason why there's such an intensity with weirdo Jkkrs and Tkkrs. I'm not pointing fingers and I'm not saying this is a widespread case, but Jimin and Taehyung are convenient modes to self-insert. Fact of the matter is--and anyone can deny this all they want to kingdom come--but we know Jungkook is HOT HOT HOT, and his appearance has A LOT, if not everything, to do with why some Jkkrs and Tkkrs get so stabby about Jungkook looking like he's closer to Jimin or Taehyung.

Have you ever been in or seen a real love triangle play out in real life? That's all primal instincts at work; your animal brain will bare its teeth and not let you think yourself rationally out of it.

Vminkook is the formidable love triangle that never dies, with Jungkook stuck in the middle. I would have to enact a formal study to say anything with certainty, so take this WITH A GRAIN OF SALT (a.k.a. I'm talking out of my ass and I know it), but my hypothesis has always been that Jungkook is the object of everyone's collective affections, and one's preference for Taehyung or Jimin is dependent on how much you see yourself in them/how much you can relate to them. This could also work in reverse where Jungkook is the one you feel the most connection to, and Taehyung or Jimin are the ones that stir up those primal emotions in you.

The only difference between a sane vs. toxic shipper in this case, however, is how far they take it. Some people take things WAY too personally one way or another, which only cements my belief that something more psychological is in effect as opposed to it being purely for entertainment.

So... heh, sorry, got carried away there. But back to your point, the only reason why Vmin gets ignored is because Jungkook isn't involved.

What if god were one of us….

I had quite the dream, just now.

I was out walking one evening, far from home. Maybe on the other side of town. Old neighborhood type feel. Not run down ghetto, just old. Briefly I visited a comic book/game store located in an old church turned mall/shopping, but there wasn’t much of interest.

I was walking home in the evening gloaming light. It was winter, but the air was summery. I had a long way to walk but I wanted to get home.

An older black gentleman pulls alongside me in a huge maroon land yacht and offers me a ride. He appears maybe his late 50’s, with peppery grey in his black hair. His facial features aren’t quite “classic” african-american (i don’t want to get into a history lesson right now), but hint of maybe north or east afrian heritage with a hint of something else. He asks me if I need a ride home.

I accept the ride from the older gentleman in his maroon land yacht. Maybe it is from the late 70’s or 80’s, hard to tell. Could be a lincoln or a caddie. It is very big and very old, and seems almost cherry but for a faint tobaco smell. The interior is also a maroon/dark reddish-purple kind of color. Cloth seats and vinyl/plastic dash.

We ride, I’m giving him general directions, take this road to this one, turn left/right, etc. We make small talk. His car, I learn, is named Nancy.

We are driving through a part of town still on the way home, I recognize it as my grandmas neighbohood, I mention the familiarity. I say “this was where my grandmother lived, but she’s gone now.”

More small talk, a left where there should have been a right, he asks if I live with anyone now, family or a boyfiend.

I’m answering “I’ve lived with a few boyfriends over the years… and up till recently my mom lived with me, but she got sick…” when I realized I no longer recognized the neighborhood.

It was a residential neighborhood unlike anything I’ve ever seen, suburban but really off, like what a suburb built in the 80’ might have looked like if the culture in the 50’s had been very different. Another timeline.

“Wait, where are we? I think you might have gone too far…”

Next thing I knew we were driving through an industrial park, it had a seen-better times look. The sky and light was a yellow-green not quite smoggy. The factories (if thats what they were) were all similar metal and foggy green crystalline affairs. They seemed otherworldly. Like the inner city of another paralell dimension, planet, or another time.

I felt a bit scared. “Where are we? I just want to get home…”

He says not to worry. The ride might take a while, but he will get me home safe and on time.

Words are unsaid. But I understand him, what/who he is, if not the why, and I just trust him (as I have felt like I could since he first offered me a ride).

We drive through many places. Some seem like “real” places, American farmland, New York at night, European Countryside, a suburb with a red sky and alien trees growing in the front yards where all the homes are the same. Detroit, in ruins, as it is but maybe more, maybe the future or after riots or a war… Then we are driving through a tunnel but it is not a tunnel but a narrow straight roadway that goes through what looks like a mega movie theater complex if it had been built of plaster by comtempirary Aztecs if the West had happened anyway but without Colombus. The doorways are all plastered up. It’s easy to see where they were because the plaster is white and unpainted and smooth where everywhere else is artifice and patterns/design and flaked bright paint.

We are cruising at the same slow speed all this while, the end is approaching, a dead end wall no way to turn around no exits. This was a road, but it had only been meant for people, not cars.

We are going to collide with the wall but pass right through and are in another place.

He says I am almost home now but I must walk the last part by myself.

I get out of the car named Nancy and say goodbye, not quite sure if I should thank him, but I do. And go ahead, alone.

Into the fog.

It is dim and foggy and seems to be an indoor place maybe an abandoned old department store or a mall. I see vague shapes in the fog like people standing still. As I pass closer, I see they’re mannequins dressed in varying outfits of yesteryear.

I spy movement from my eye’s corner and gaze through the fog. It’s me, reflected in mirrors.

I keep walking forward, through fog and mannequins scattered about. Here and there tables and chairs, like a memory of a lobby or a food court. Ahead of me, a figure resolves. I keep walking toward it, to see its myself in a large mirror.

I am almost face to face with myself when I wake up.

Inside Iggy Azalea and Nick Youngs Very Disastrous, Very Public Split

The public dissolution of Iggy Azaleas engagement to Nick Young exploded in sad and salacious fashion Thursday when the Fancy rapper took to social media to explain why she kicked her Los Angeles Laker fianc to the curb last week.

I broke up with Nick because I found out he had brought other women into our home while I was away and caught them on the security footage, she tweeted early Thursday morning to her 6.62 million followers.

This is like a second shot to the chest, she later added. And I feel like I dont even know who the hell it is Ive been loving all this time. People in this world really are fucked up.

The soul-baring triggered yet another landslide of sympathy and, of course, an inevitable smattering of shade from folks who havent forgiven her spotty record of casual racism and culture-stealing.

Its hard enough to live, love, and lose in the age of social media. Imagine getting engaged, being cheated on, and breaking off your high-profile engagement while the world watched and snickered along, racing to see who can type out their best schadenfreude-laden tweets first?

Azaleas tweet came one news cycle after Life & Style breathlessly reported that Young, 31, had cheated on her with his ex, Keonna Green, with whom he has a 4-year-old son. According to the gossip rag, Green is now four months pregnant with her second child with Younga revelation Azalea learned at the same time as everyone else. I have never even been told by Nick that his baby mother is pregnant so if this is true Im finding out via E News, she tweeted.

Its all come as a fittingly viral end to the celebrity coupling of Azalea, 26, and Young, 31, a three-year relationship that saw social media, entertainment news, and gossip rags cover their every blissful moveand break out the popcorn when Lakers star DAngelo Russell leaked video of teammate Young confessing to cheating on his bride-to-be in March.

The video not only reportedly caused a rift in the struggling Lakers locker room that became the talk of sports pundits, but also brought the heat and scrutiny of the mainstream pop media pressing down on the soon-to-be marrieds who scrambled to respond to the private embarrassment in the most public ways imaginable.

Azalea, for her part, put a brave face on. Appearing on Ellen shortly thereafter in April, she insisted that she and Young were all good.

Last week, when she finally broke up with him, she made it Instagram official in a now-deleted post.

Unfortunately although I love Nick and have tried and tried to rebuild my trust in himIts become apparent in the last few weeks I am unable to, Azalea wrote, wishing her ex good vibes. I genuinely wish Nick the best. Its never easy to part ways with the person you planned your entire future with, but futures can be rewritten and as of today mine is a blank page.

Young, meanwhile, acknowledged the split with a solitary word that got retweeted 36,000 times: Single.

Relatively speaking, most relationships die pretty quietly between plebeians; some famous persons even manage to consciously uncouple without turning the whys and hows of it into matters of public concern. Maybe it hasnt occurred to Azalea and Young, who have a combined 18 million followers (Twitter + IG) between them, that they dont have to pull back the curtain to such a massive audience on a breakup thats currently eclipsing their professional reputations in their respective fields.

Or, maybe, to each celeb their own. The gleeful Iggy/Swaggy P-watch continued last week as Azalea moved out of the house she and Young had shared, while both felt compelled to keep commenting on their split on social channels. When paparazzi caught a 1962 Chevy Impala being towed from the house, headlines reported that Azalea was dumping her exs car. She cleared up the confusion in a tweet.

I never had anyones car towed nor did I kick Nick out of my house, she wrote. The home belongs to Nick, I am the one moving. Thanks.

Young didnt bother setting the record straight, but joked about the misreported towing on Instagram and Twitter with the hashtag #SheBrokeMyShitDownInFrontTMZ and flew to Paris, posting emo videos singing along to Drakes Redemption.

Until Azalea revealed shed finally found video evidence of Youngs infidelity, even she seemed to be searching for answers in media appearances and interviews. Speaking with Billboard in April, she explained why she thanked Russell for exposing Young even as she stuck with himand questioned, rightly so, where the public scrutiny was for her fianc.

Everybody just wanted to talk about how bad DAngelo Russell was for leaking the video, breaking the bro code and I was like [to Nick], Why do you get to escape responsibility for what you said? The thing that annoyed me the most about it was I felt like, oh OK, this is whats happening in, like, society. The bigger story here is a guy breaking the guy code. Shouldnt the bigger story be hey, this guy got down on one knee, made a verbal commitment to be committed to this woman and said that he didnt? Why is [he] not the bad guy? The bad guy is DAngelo for breaking some unsaid bro code. I hated that.

Asked point blank if shed been cheated on, Azalea told Billboard then that she had no idea.

I dont know. Ill never know. He says he didnt but I dont know. Do I believe him? I dont know about that. I dont have any girl thats out there like, Yes I did. Heres a video. Heres the hotel key. Heres where he stays. Heres what hes got tattooed on his left nut sack. I dont have any kind of undeniable hard evidence, she said, saying that cheating was out of his character.

Unlike pop musics other recent single lady Taylor Swift (who, some might argue, instantly upgraded to a paparazzi-ready Tom Hiddleston the moment she ditched Calvin Harris), Azalea doesnt have a knack for tapping into her own bad breakups to inspire her next hit records. Maybe she should try taking a cue from TayTay as she figures out how to move on, both publicly and privately.

I find it baffling anyone would make the choice to bring a child into the world under these circumstances + want attention and $ for it, Azalea tweeted later Thursday afternoon, taking to social media to keep exorcising the heartbreak. I feel like my body was just drop kicked out of a plane with no parachute.
