I totally thought about the nine lives thing !!! and it drives me crazy because I saw a lot of content on social media about really resistant cats who survived the impossible and he would 100% fit in that category

Vet: yes ma'am, 0 injuries, he seems perfectly well. I mean except for his shitty personality.

I feel like a total bitch about this even tho I'm 100% in the right to be annoyed and frustrated but like.... My roommate keeps taking my beast (cat: Frankie) outside and FORGETTING him out there!!!!

More venting about being pissed below the cut + idk what to do at this point but to just ban outside time unless its with me.

I've asked him a few times to keep the gates closed (one on the deck + one to the back yard) and to not let him out unless he's out there with him. BECAUSE he's forgotten my beast out there a couple times already!!! (just on the porch thankfully) + a time Frankie got OUT and went down the street all on his own. That was terrifying!!!

Today I went to the main floor and didn't see my beast. Weird. Hear my roomie in his basement cough. Okay... (Frankie doesn't usually go and hang out in the basement + the door was closed). I take a peak out the back window and see no beast on the porch- then I see him waddle his chubby happy ass up the drive way all by himself :) calmly walked outside and collected him back to the air conditioned house (he yelled at me like i was ruining his fun lol)

I'm literally so pissed 1) he is NOT an outdoor cat, I dont believe in letting your cats out free balling it. Period. He's an indoor boy with supervised porch and patio privileges ONLY. 2) he's on scheduled heart medications twice every day!! He CANNOT be getting out!!!!

My partner is gonna help set up privacy screening for the back porch so that it'll also act as a catio and, HOPEFULLY, prevent this from happening again. but we're low on funds because he just moved so it'll probably have to wait a little bit. (It'll be top priority for now though).

I've told roomie a few times+ other roomies not to let frank out on his own... I don't think he's doing it maliciously at all, he's just forgetful. So I'm not 100% pissed @ him, but I'm fairly annoyed because... That's my little guy, if something happened to him because of someone else I'd be seeing red. I don't want to just be like "okay don't take my cat out anymore" cuz he likes hanging with Frank and frank likes hanging with him! But man... Come on!!! :((

Tldr: I'm too nice so I feel bad but I'm annoyed as fuck that my roommate keeps leaving my cat unsupervised outside and this is the second time he's gotten OUT of the backyard. Ignoring the times he's just been left out there and forgotten to begin with. I've talked to him about it multiple times but it keeps happening. Frankie's okay though right now.

Just moved into a new place and my cat wants to go outside SO BAD. Like, no, little buddy. We had a balcony that you could hang out on in the last place. This place does not have that. Hi, sorry if this is a silly question or if you’re the wrong person to ask. I take my cat on walks on a leash but do not have the means to provide a catio. Are there precautions I can take that would still allow me to walk her safely, or is it best to stop taking her outside at all for the forseeable future?

I'm honestly not the best resource for this question; I deal with birds, not cats, but the story about the big cats crossed my path and I thought it was important to share.

For domestic fowl, people are advised to keep them penned in covered areas, exclude wild birds from their areas (ie: use small netting gauges), cover food and water where possible to prevent contamination, and practice biosecurity (work clean to dirty, separate gear for separate pens, limit visitors to property, quarantine new birds, etc).

For cats, a lot of the same likely holds true- it's not a guarantee, but it also can't hurt to limit their access to wild birds and areas where wild birds can poop, keep outside gear away from them, limit visitors that could bring it in (ie people who keep poultry, people who work with wildlife etc), practice general biosecurity as well as you can. Most importantly for cats, and something you SHOULD take as a requirement not a general common sense, is do NOT feed them raw anything right now- dry kibble or pasteurized food only. Those big cats died because their raw feed was contaminated. The wild big cats that have died (mountain lions) likely died from eating contaminated meat/animals. At least one indoor cat has died from contaminated raw diet feed. So I cannot stress this enough, DO NOT FEED RAW. This includes raw frozen.

Past general common sense like that, you'd want to talk to someone from your state ag or DNR or other agencies that could advise you more specifically.

- in secret he reads books about romance and observes the types of gifts normally given to one another; flowers, sweets, accessories. he isn't a fool, he knows you well but still something like this... he wasn't expecting.

Veritas stood still, eyes used to logic and reasoning, solitude and knowledge glaring into the small little plush sitting in your open palms. As he processes this he makes a quick realization; the lovely blue fur, the scowl of the face, the golden accents and the book in the cats mouth wasn't just picked randomly no, it was him. A blush spread across his face as he picks up the plush to get a better look. you're bright smile begins to fade as his silence continues but before you could properly frown a cough rumbles from the man's throat. "The craftsmanship on this plush is amazing, dear. I..." he praises your work a slight smirk on his face before he looks away from you the evergrowing blush on his face getting darker by the second. "I do appreciate it... and I suppose it is adorable." he says pacing over to you and leaving a kiss on your cheek before scurrying off, hiding the Dr. catio plush behind a book. I made the pupils card suit shapes! since your eyes are so beautiful I made sure I made them justttt right" you said nuzzling into his shoulder more almost like love was pouring out of you. the smile on his face never seems to fade but he does go silent, letting you rant about whatever details you please but his mind goes somewhere else, the fact you love him and all the features he's resented this much to preserve him forever.

modern au happy being a cat that hates it when people other than natsu touches him. he's gladly around, chattering his mouth off, jumping up on tables and sitting on the chairs by the dining table, but pull out your hand and he'll run away faster than lighting. except for the fact that one day happy (who's an indoor cat) jumpes out an open window and natsu walks around the entire block, calling out for him. and suddenly he's met by this gorgeous blonde girl with huge brown eyes and a tiny, shaky, white dog beside her, and wait-
