The thing that makes the jellyfish hat content is that it is an object containing paper mache, fabric, cardboard, and the assorted accoutrements of jellyfish hat-making (the optional but popular add-ons go listed here in your head).
and implies that the container is more relevant in this specific context than the thing contained
No. that's not an implication. That's a thing you're making up in order to have an excuse to get angry about someone using a word you don't like, but it's not true. If I say, "I dumped open the contents of the box onto the floor", it is very easily discerned by most readers I am looking for something specific that is within the contents of that box. It is insanity to insist that the word content = the container being the most important thing on Earth. If I write "he opened the small box, revealing its' content: a single, small wedding ring" and you think the box is the focus, I just flat-out don't know what to tell you.
Setting that aside: holy shit, please calm down. I'm a bit busy with organizing resources for my local trans community at the moment but I promise you, there are worse problems than someone using a word you don't like. There was an election this year - don't know if you noticed - that impacts real people. Looking at all your anon and off-anon replies, the thing I keep thinking is, "Holy shit, who fucking cares? There are actual issues going on in the world right now!"
The fact that something I sent in during a ten minute snack break at work and quickly forgot about lives rent-free in your head to this degree days after it was said is highly, highly concerning. I cannot convey enough to you how much I did not mean to set off an episode in you, and at the same time, I am also very genuine when I say this may be a hill you're willing to die on, but it's not a hill I'm willing to kill you on. I kill people on important hills and jellyfish hats ain't it, chief.
It's wild to spend my time IRL trying to help people figure out what to do if our state makes it illegal for them to get HRT in-state and then pull up my phone and see someone this pressed about the word "content". Surely your life also has an important issue you could spend time on? No one is having a particularly good time right now. Maybe focus on a thing with literally any relevance to your quality of life whatsoever? I know that sounds glib. However, having had manic episodes where one thing someone said to me sent me over the edge, I'm not being glib. I really mean it when I say that redirecting your focus onto something important helps snap you out of it. It's how I got myself out of it before I was able to get medicated for my Bipolar Disorder. I take zero joy in seeing someone forth at the mouth because one person said one word and that made them spiral. I really do apologize, and I can see that this panic is a very real, valid emotion on your end. But 'valid' here is used only in the sense of 'I believe you when you say you feel panicked', not 'the panic is a logical, proportionate response to the trigger'. (As a side note, after this many anon and off-anon messages indicating fixation and extreme emotional overinvestment, I don't want anyone saying I misused the word trigger. This is not a proportionate response to someone using one word you dislike.)
The jellyfish hat contains materials needed to construct a hat. It doesn't need ads or legal agreements in order to contain cardboard, paper mache, etc. You are trying to make a mountain out of a molehill. Likely, you are taking your anger at something that actually matters and redirecting it onto this, a thing that does not matter. I'm not saying that in judgment - we all do it - but I am not going to be replying to this further. You may have a desire to use other people's words as an excuse to spiral but you'll have to find someone else to use the reason you're losing your shit.
The hat contains the materials needed to construct a hat. It's not that deep.

overstim shigaraki
This is lowkey an older fic/hc set and I hate it now but I'm still posting because I love shigaraki-
CW : smut, a fab reader, mean shigaraki, over stim
Shigy is a sadist what’s new, and while he gets sexual pleasure from pain being inflicted on him he knows you aren’t the same
So he saves if for the bedroom
Really really likes over stimulation, 100% gets off knowing that he’s fucking you into near painful orgasms and the tears in your eyes are almost enough to make him cum on the spot
This man has a corruption kink and it’s not even a question, this is a hill I’ll die on. Period 🥰💅
Eats you out and finger fucks you into a needy mess and he’s more then Willing to give you his cock and won’t stop giveing you his cock
Go’s absolutely feral and you clawing at his back only urges him on more because jokes on you he’s into that shit
Bite him, scratch him, make him bleed, he’ll cum on the spot but won’t stop
You : omg I’m sorry I clawed up your back 😔
Shiki :
Likes to think he’s corrupting you and causeing you to fall into depravity with him
Your his pure adorable little human and he’s going to fuck you until your just as dirty as him
Calls you his sinful little rabbit, letting a fallen angel mark you up
Has broken a bed and he’d do it again but you get mad at him
Because of the insedent above if he feels like he’s gonna snap and go feral he quickly moves you to the floor because he cant break that
I like to imagine he likes to flaunt his wings like a peacock so his wings are definitely out
By the end your going you to be screaming and sobbing, marked to hell and back, and unable to walk
Shiki is going to be clawed to hell and covered in bite marks and bruises from you griping onto him
Gets super soft after this because he knows aftercare is important and that it takes a lot out of you
Wraps his wings around around you like a cocoon and holds you in his arms for a while, then draws a bath because 1) your covers in cum 2) he’s coved in blood(or At least his back is)
**•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚ ˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚*☆.。.:* .。.:*☆
You smiled and looked up to the baby blue sky, it was a beautiful day out and even better your boyfriend had asked you to come over to his house. You waited outside the school gates for shiki to be done with his council work so you could walk with him. It wasn’t long before you saw the familiar sight of his messy violet hair and striking bloody orange eyes, you waved his way and he came walking twords you. He smiled and planted a kiss on your nose before wrapping his arm around your shoulder and pulling you in close to him.
“How was you day y/n? ” He asked as you walked down the sidewalk. “It was pretty good! Lots of tests tho, that sucked” You said with an adorable pout, “what about you shiki?” “Oh my day was good, I pissed of mage and he hit me in the gut” A twisted smile pulled at his lips as his cheeks flushed cherry pink at the thought. His body shuddered against yours and his eyes held a dark glint. You shook your head at his antics “so you had a good day antagonizeing the other council members?” He nodded snaping out of his episode.
You finally reached his house and walked through the large gates and up to his front door, he opened his door and walked in behind you. You walked in and looked around, his house was nice and it always amazed you when you walked in. So many old paintings on the walls, of angels and clouds, demons and brimstone set ablaze with sins and lemantation. Bright burning eyes watched your figure like a hawk circling it’s pray, such a pure little bunny you were, such a cute little thing so close in his grasp and so tempting. He’d make you fall just as he once did. He’d drag you down into depravity as he tainted whatever purity he hadn’t already taken from you.
He was determined to paint your soul with sin and make your body a canvas for his love and sinful desires. Two pairs of ebony wings ripped through the blue fabric of his school jacket, soft black features scattered fluttering gently to the ground before long legs carried him to were you stood, willowy arms snakeing around you and traping you against his chest. Eyes half lidded and grin warped in a devious smirk, his hands trailed down to grip your waste and pull you flush against him. His breath was hot against the shell of your ears, his voice was shakey and dark, dripping with lustful excitement as he spoke, whispering into your ear. “Y/n~ let me have you, I’ll break you so beautifully, again and again~” He shuddered at the thought. Your face was stained with a lovely red and you swallowed the lump in your throat, nodding you head ‘yes’. He grin got wider as his fingers taped in gentle trails down your thighs before shoveling up the lacy white ruffles of your underskirt. His hands groped and squeezed your thights and brought you flush against him as he ground his erection against your ass. A shuddered groan sounded around the room as his head buried into your hair Inhailing deeply.
Black feathered wings closed out the light of the large windows, sweraling darkness clouded your vision and your body felt light and weigh less.
Light floded your vision and your body once again felt weighted and shikis wings left your vision to sit comfortably behind him. He spun you around and pressed his lips to yours, his tounge invaded your mouth as he took heavy steps backwards until you fell onto the bed. Breaking the kiss he looked into your (e/c) stained glass eyes. So bright and pure, such a lovely contrast to the dark glint of his orange eyes shrouded in sin. He striped off the deep maroon blazer before nimble fingers pryed open the buttons of your blouse. His eyes drank in the sight before him, your lovely (s/t) flesh a perfect canvas for the marks he would leave, your lacy (f/c) bra that sat so perfectly on your breast. Your face was so red as he ripped off his own Navy blue blazer and white dress shirt, it lay there now ripped and discarded on the floor leaving his slender but toned chest exposed. You undid your skirt and slid it down your legs, kicking it off you sat almost completely exposed to his hungry eyes.
He moved you to the center of the bed before crawling over to you and admireing the way your (h/c) hair spread against the cushiony pillows. His hands reached around and uncliped your bra tossing it to join your other discarded clothing. Next he moved to strip off your panties. His fingers toyed with your clit rubing circles and rolling the sensitive bud between his fingers. Your moans were music to his ears and his twisted grin only grew as two slim fingers slipped past your folds and caressed your walls, twisting and wiggling inside you as his thumb rubbed your clit. His other hand groped your chest as his mouth latched onto your neck sucking and Nipping at your skin leaveing dark bruises in his wake as he traveled across your soft skin and down the valley of your breasts marking them with bite marks and hickys.
Your body felt as though it was on fire as shiki continued to toy with you, your hands tangled in his hair and tugged at it roughly. He groaned and his fingers burried deeper into you causeing you to moan out, he slipped in another finger causeing you to stretch so deliciously around his digets. You unconsciously clenched down as his fingers curled inside of you, your legs shuddered as you came but his fingers didn’t stop even after he had fucked you over the edge with them. He applied more pressure as he rubbed your clit and traced shapes along the walls of your dripping cunt. He moved down and removed his fingers but before you had a chance to complain they were replaced with his tounge. His tounge darted in and out of you before sweraling around your sensitive bundle of nervers. You shuddered and shaked as another orgasm crashed over you.
Wasteing no time he stripped himself of his pants and boxers, tossing them aside before teasing your folds with his cock. You wined a little and looked at him with pleading eyes as his perverted smile only got wider. “Such a sinful little rabbit~ so willing so be defiled by the likes of a fallen angel” As he uttered those words he sunk into you, your walls stretching around him so tightly. He groaned pushing into you all the way before pulling back and snaping his hips back twords you. His mouth once again started to suck and bite at your neck as your arms wrapped around his torso underneath his wings, your nails raked down the space between his shoulder blades and wings down to his lower back leaveing angry red marks along his pale skin.
He groaned at the pain spuring him on to pound into you faster. You were moaning his name as his cock dragged against your velvet walls hitting your spongy g-spot when his hips met flush against yours, his hand came down to toy with your puffy clit makeing your legs shake. You were on fire as the coil in your stomach tightened. You cried out as your pussy clamped around him and your legs shaked while he fucked you through your orgasm. He groaned at the feeling of your nails digging into his skin and you creaming around his his cock.
Without stopping he continued with his relentless pace, your legs wouldn’t stop trembling as tears pricked your eyes, the space between your legs burned and tingled as shiki continued. His hips only stuttering when he neared his own release before continuing his pace and makeing a mess of your cunt.
He cold tell he was loseing himself to you, your pretty face so twisted in the pleasure he brought you and so stained with tears as he made you cum around him over and over. He stopped suddenly and you thought you were getting a break, oh so foolish. He was going to break you. He scooped you up, dick still throbbing inside of you, he layed you down on the floor and pulled out of you. You were confused as to why he had layed you on the floor when he suddenly pushed up your legs so your knees met your chest before quickly slamming into you. He hit even deeper inside you and you cried out as your mide whent blank of all thoughts other then his cock filling you up to the brim.
His orange eyes we’re wide and crazed, shrouded in a feral kind of lust, mouth open and spewing moans as the sound of skin meeting skin floated in the air alongside your moans and crys. Your pussy ached and clenched around his member and he moaned at the added friction. You had bitten into his shoulder so stop your strangled moans but it was in vain as your choked sobs mixed with the moans that spilled from your mouth. Lewd sloping played like a symphony as shiki thrusted in and out of your over stuffed pussy.
Finally his hips stuttered again but this time he pushed inside you and stayed and he once again spilt his seed inside you. Leeking out as he pulled out of you, cock stained white with his own cum as he once again moved you to the bed. He layed you down and wrapped his arms around you holding your trembling body against his, large black wings draped over you, covering your body in a blanket of soft feathers as it lay limp ontop of you. Gentle lips kissed away the trail of tears and those that brimed your glossy (e/c) eyes. He sighed and took a deep Inhail of your sent mixed with his.
You were trembling like a Leaf in his arms, your legs no doubt almost numb yet still aching and painted white. He rubbed gentle circles on your body and whispered sweat nothings into your ear. “I’ll go start a bath so we can wash off my lovely little rabbit” His wings desipered, only leaveing scattered black feathers as proof of there excitance, his arms uncoiled for your body. You didn’t have the energy to protest as you lay exhausted, limp, and trembling. Kissing your head softly he stood up and walked to the bathroom that was connected to his room.
Blood orange eyes looked back at your form with a soft fondness. He had fallen for you and you had fallen for him, he would choose to fall from the heavens for you and he knew that you would fall together.

How do you think TSAMS would be as parents? ✨️
I love you belle thank you for this totally umprompted yet again bats my eyes
WE'RE GOING DOWN SOME LISTS- edit: this got longer than expected. I have to put the rest under readmore cause I got so EXCITED to answer. I'm sure my brain had more but fdhjks just take IT BEFORE TUMBLR EATS IT AGAIN. puts the rest under read more good GOD
KC: yeah you know my stance on this, he's dadcode. He's got that paternal instinct. I will die on this hill. Do I think they couldve handled his character differently? Absolutely. And i dont mean making him more Dad-like. Just in general more exploration on this poor man suffering from lack of anything past his redemption. KC using the guise of being Father to Bloodmoon, not only that APPEALING to OG Bloodmoon so much, someone to have more familial bonds with in killing vs Eclipse who tried to keep him and use him.
I don't mind KC having had not only favouritism and manipulation there. It's not until he's given wildly conflicting stances that he thinks about it. And then loses this Bloodmoon. And then we dont hear from him. Which i think he was mourning. However thats a topic for another time.
To answer the question better- I think he'd put a lot of effort in trying to rekindle that. He's the 'oldest'. hes aware how used people can be, and works (and canon to a degree) to fix that. He likes the idea of being a dad, a lot of everyone needs a good father figure in this show (stares at creator). And dadcode gives us this, a tall figure willing to scoop you up and comfort quietly as your held and listen to your woes and offer some wisdom.
Sun: BRO IS SUCH A DAD NOW. LOOK AT HIM AND DAZZLE. SPOILS HER BUT QUICK TO MAKE SURE SHES NOT TOO SPOILED. Patient and creative in trying to give them fun and live delgihtfully as a kid given her fate. He's canonly willing to patiently sit kids down, even SunPea from EAPS literally using a tactic to communicate and calm them. While he's shown to be unsure hwo to feel about Jack, he's recently shown to treat him similarily too (in a similar vein, he had a similar way with Lunar, an older brother yes but theres bits in there). Bro IS GOOD with kids despite having complaints (who doesnt). Anythats just canon. I think its cute, genuinely a good dad. KC would be so proud.
Old Moon: Okay so this depends. I personally think he'd be fine to a degree. This is also due to my perception given how he treated Lunar. He adored Lunar, letting him not only stay, but adopted him. (Albiet because they were together but Lunar did open up to Moon and Monty about how he felt. Which Moon canonly is VERY protective of his family, literally an immediate 'alright this is my baby brother now'. Which is sweet. But he's known to be standoffish, Lunar had the fact he was in Moon's head thus more understanding of Moon.) Now this leads what it was then. Moon now is… better to a degree in treating his family. Though because of that he's feeling more silly uncle. (WEIRD RIGHT??) Which is still nice i like he's doing well.
NewMoon/Nexus: NOW THIS. Ive seen people respond the same way actually. NewMoon GOOD DAD. YES GOOD AMAZING. ive read one fic where he takes care of baby sun its cute. He would be- Esp given he would be actually taking the time to be in the daycare more thus more exposure to kids. Sun and Earth being good examples of people who'd help him if he struggled.
Nexus… yeah Nexus is feeling less likely to be good father, much less at all in canon at the moment. But im capable of spinning things. Just depends on circumstance. And how his arc ends (me pleading he gets redeemed or something. just turn him into a baby guys. its fine. itll solved EVERYTHING.) But if he ends on a redemption arc, I can see him being very hard on himself about trying to raise a kid right. he knows what not to do but due to idk being manipulated so badly and blinded by grief and self image problems…. he'd be seeking guidance a lot. He's already wronged many. It may be difficult for him to actively parent a kid. But in turn the kid being the part of his life that knows him for him as he is and still loves him?? Damn.
Earth: Wife- i mean she was programmed with a bunch of child care stuff. She originally was given 'motherly' programming. Of course its deviated but she's a learning AI of course it did, she's embraced being baby sister and frankly shes ALLOWED (people hating on that. She's embracing being girly pop and traditionally femme, doesn't make her wanna be Motherly at all times bruh shes come into her own and im proud of her). Doesn't discount she'd be a good mom. She WOULD actively make sure creator NEVER comes near her child/children. And given how you can OVERSTEP and she activivates her security code? Protective mom, willing to listen but like moms will absolutely not understand somethings.
Lunar: Okay i think its very funny everyones like 'dont… actually let him be a parent' and IM LIKE OKAY. Canonly YES not a parent type person. But Lunar's literally going thru his own life with constant stress and dissociation tactics. It's gotten better for him yes, but definitely in no state of mind to be a parent. Do i think in the future he could be? ABSOLUTELY. Right now? Not really, He's actually a.. interesting babysitter. He doesnt take nothing from kids and he will just not wanna interact if its too much. Encites chaos though, he would be the one who'd help the kids stage an uprising. Though im like eyeing the divorce arc Galaxy had up and im like 'oh my god disaster man… beautiful he's terrible at this'. Which is FUNNY given Lunar before his death was VERY good with kids, a quote with Sun. Anyway, the verdict is current canon Lunar? Not a parent type. Lunar in the future? Possibly yes. Lunar from before his death? Up for debate from ME, but also a no.
Ive seen people seperate each eclipse and like MAYBE. but we're just seperating by like… the eclipse who got the star vs Eclipse who's a clone but not now?? (I got some summary of Solar getting Star Eclipses soul or something-)
Eclipse who got the Star: Yes. I think he'd be a dad. What did you think I'd say? HE WOULDNT? Also true. Look what he's done to all his brothers/creations. But also bro has severe abandonment issues that led to him Killing lunar and then REGRETTING THAT (DONT SAY HE DIDNT. HE DID. AND KNEW MONTY WAS REMAKING LUNAR.) He wouldnt make the BEST parent, but legit as much as he hated how Solar Flare talked to him, got attached. Chances are if he gained a kid somehow it'd be similar. Wouldn't let his kid away from him too long. Before he got the star? Not much of a chance of him being a father canonly. Far too focused on revenge and how unforgiving he felt. In my baby back up au, he's reluctant to even get attached cause of his own self acclaimed goal (altho in my au, he's not immune to babies and the fact that in a sense its what he wanted out of himself and Lunar (think to the episode with Lunar reacting to baby versions of him and eclipse. similar thought)). Honestly him being in the computer was enough for him to close himself off. Solar Flare had to be in his head to even get thru to him. (STARES AT KILLCODE U ARE THE FATHER FIC I ADORE. FLARE BECOMING SENTIENT AND ECLIPSE JSUT GETTING PROTECTIVE OF HIS NEW CREATION… love it)
Eclipse Who Was Cloned But Isnt A Clone Now I Guess: he's gained not only Lunar's reconciliation but also befirended earth, got a somewhat apology from both moons?? IS parenting maybe the sun and moon in his new dimension. He got VERY possessive about looking for HIS sun which is fascinating. Also apparently now a dad? to a ghost? I think?? Anyway, he's already rather proven to be protective but also just willfully watching nearby to let them be. He's retreated into himself a bit but actively does care, even if its hard to show. If he had a kid theyd either understand or wont. But I think small actions could help.
Solar: LISTEN I ALREADY HAD THIS THOUGHT WITH MY SUN!LUNAR AU, HE IS DAD. AND NOW HE'S DAD TO JACK. ITS CUTE. BRO IS SO ANNOYED ABOUT WHAT JACK IS DOING- and then remembering he programmed that- and then hearing monty had to FIX HIM. But also genuinely just accepted he's jack's father. And working to be looking out for Jack despite how exasperated he sounds sometimes. It probably does endear him to know after his 'death' Jack took it to call him father more. Anyway on HOW theyd be a parent. Solar is seen to be rather standoff-ish, given in part to their changed story of his Moon abusing him and his Sun taking the time to actually talk to him before being removed. Bro's got trauma and struggles to let people help him. For being a dad he'd make sure theyre provided for, with jack he's at least making sure to start where he left off but not keeping jack away from him or at arms length either. Unlike Eclipse he'd let his kid do what they want, but also be sure to teach them when needed. He'd seem exasperated with somethings but genuinely try and be patient. Cute moments can include his kid wearing his gloves/goggles and boots… (or in my case his jacket and tool belt lol). Wouldn't take to people dissing his kids well like any eclipse.
Bloodmoon: Alright so- this is gonna be a mix of canon and not but thats why ur on this blog. Version 1 of the Bloodmoons? Honestly yeah I can see them doing so. They took to Lunar once he made the connection they were brothers. However, adopting and having their own would differ. Severely. Having their own, thats their own, immediate take to their new kid. Would be teaching them terrible ways to murder and hunt etc. This would also be something theyd be prideful about, literally showing off their kid and how murdery they are and how theyre doing SO good at being a parent. (UNLIKE ECLIPSE- i mean what).
Theyre more involved I'd say but also quite distracted with their own murdering. Lunar would be an UNCLE and Bloodmoon would absolutely drop off his kid for Lunar to babysit. NO I wont hear it for anyone to say he wouldn't. But this stems on Bloodmoon valuing family. Adopting… would be much harder. If the kid was Human? GOOD LUCK. Lunars pact might keep them possibly safe, but we've seen them be impulsive. Altho not impossible just… similar in case to trashman to a degree. Possibly being amused how spooked a kid might be, not fully outwardly killing but higher chance on death. If the kid got used to it and saw bloodmoon more as idk SAFER than a person??? Confusion for this child seeking out a murderer for safety. Anyway slowburn endearment and adoption.
Bloodmoon V2: Believe it or not They'd be more prone to adoption. (But Socks i hear u say the Og bloodmoon took forever- YEAH WE'RE GETTIN THERE). Canonly any bloodmoon and adopting is not totally feasible but stares at FC and how that was a thing where Bloodmoon COULD NOT kill them. Also will never live down the fact we almost got Foxy and Fc being Bloodmoons new keepers/family and Rude RUDE so rude to steal that away. This version of Bloodmoon was slaughtering left and right. Only reigns were Ruin and Stitchwraith (and for a time, Foxy. I believed in him. Thank you Thorns for the AU).
HOWEVER, this bloodmoon still had very strong connection to 'Family' and having one. Bro was jumping from monty being his 'father/creator' (LIES AND SLANDER) to Eclipse (he mentioned this) and then to KC. They WOULD be more prone to choosing their OWN family. They have trust issues and hate being a tool and genuinely (whether they were aware or not) were looking for a connection. Anyway, Similar to how V1 would be, prideful of their kid and yeah teaching to murder. But also kid teaching them silly things like games theyve seen others do, maybe watched some tv- interacted with other kids-. Bloodmoon V2 would kill everyone in this room and then themselves for their kid.
If it was just the remaining twin its gonna be increased ten fold for keeping the kid close.
Ruin: Given we have ruins backstory and also I am heavily influenced by Thorn's version of Ruin as well- Ruin would be an interesting parent. He's got Sun and Moon's code. Protective and willing to teach, but also would be the kinda parent to put them in a room so he can work safely without them interrupting his own plans. Its a weird divide or trying to make sure they dont know too much but are aware their parent is doing something Important. Ruin's own masks getting mixed up in raising the kid where the kid can be used to the flipflop nature their father is providing and also be unsure how to feel on it given Ruin can be quite aloof at times. one thing is certain tho is that Ruin would never let them think theyre anyless of a person.
There is also sweet Ruin who'd be silly and parental. He's affectionate for sure and holding their lil hands.
Dark Sun/Sunburn: @thorns-and-rosewings Is at fault for this entirely, I love how they portray him. This would be more based on their version of Dark Sun vs Canon. Canon seems less likely to really… want to care for anything really. (But again im behind as well and also everyone else i see makes him be dragon dad lol). But Neptor was his creation and had no connection to them, so unless their USEFUL, I guess he doesn't really care. Which would give you a very interesting scenario of slow burn caring. Genuinely just 'Oh well you did that better than I thought. Good job' with like the hint of manipulation but the kid might be fine, this is still a Sun. But guys got goals. So, he could be a good dad but so far from what we've seen (that I'm seeing anyway) Might not have the room in his heart anymore. But again not impossible the man is just gonna need a few years before going 'Oh. Hmn. Well my kid now'. And then after that the kid will be fine, their emotionally dead dad just needs a hug sometimes don't worry about the underlying plans this man might have for the universe. The kid will be fine.
NOW. NOW THORNS' SUNBURN. I love, does have his trauma and utter hatred of all moons. But also fiercely protective of his babies, because they're HIS. Like dude's scary to everyone but utterly endeared to his babies. The one thing that brings him joy, the thing he'd literally kill people over. Baby… Other than being protective, just caring and making sure they're taught well (coughs fearing moons in some cases coughs), having good eating habits. Similar to how Dazzle and Sun are but more subdued, quieter but patient. Moment a moons nearby tho? He's got at least 3 ways to incapacitate them, just in case. Bro's sad tho so he'll have his moments where he just NEEDS to hold the baby close, to be sure theyre safe. Maybe too over protective but depends on who's with him that he would trust. I'm sure thorns could word this better but LOVE LOVE their sunburn in their au's okay.
SolarFlare: Bro dead… Also was JUST getting sentience and all. But given how he was subjected to Eclipses mind and antics? Genuinely could be a good dad cause at least he'd have some idea how to handle things. That is if he even wants a child. Given how new to life he was and all, he'd probably enjoy learning new things and experiences. He is a learning AI and prone to picking up peoples patterns in their mannerisms as we've seen (just barely). Would be learning along with his kid tbh, allowing flowercrowns and uppies. But also with how his body is built? Might have difficulty in movement, and will learn fast his hands aren't the most delicate either. He's rather blunt about things but would be asking for advice in handling children. Might even walk up to Sun for child caring lessons like watching the daycare. Once again his movements and very Sharpness to his body could cause problems (scraping the tunnels- kids trying to jump on him- etc). Iron Giant vibes i'd think actually. All in all he's doing his best and sometimes just misses the mark on what the kid wants but he's figuring it out with them. Very awkward holding kid but the kid would probably love it.
Jack (i guess more in the future): He's silly and delightful but also he's capable of understanding psychology. He handles Dazzle very well (despite… doing some dangerous things but he's learning still in the show so I can forgive this). Would be proud dad, definitely taking his own Jack approach to parenting. Hands on, and probably getting Solar heart attacks from what he's doing lol. Would likely teach kid about knives, with care tbh. Esp now that he knows whats too dangerous for kids and what's more 'nah they can handle that, knife safety'. Would be prone to picking up their kid by the scruff maybe. Crawling around the ceiling with their kid clinging to them like a sloth. Everyone in this family would be protective. Jack would be rather lax in letting his kid roam freely without supervision. Not that he isn't protective, but he's drawing from the fact he likes freedom to do whatever but knows sometimes things do need attention.
Also had the idea if Dazzle couldn't grow up and Jack becoming primary caregiver after Sun. Sad but cute.
I'd add Monty but we see how they are with Lunar (Listen Monty definitely got attached and I'm sure at some point there was a connection due to Monty's own relationship with his dad being strained. Theyre friends but definitely was obvious Monty was pulling more paternal for a bit with Lunar. Not to mention Vegeta- wait I haven't seen him in a while where IS vegeta??? I appreciated Monty's arc with avoiding them to becoming their parent for real. I thought it was sweet.) However, Montys character gets wild sometimes, would be teaching the kid silly things but also if Earth's the mom? Lax parent being supportive and rowdy. Hands on in lessons, but if Earth steps in to correct 'Please don't teach our baby how to hold firearms-' 'I taught vegeta and Lunar' 'Monty they were old enough, our baby isnt even a year old' 'yeah thats why this is very safe, its not even loaded' ' wait Is that a watergun???' 'im seeing no downside here' 'here gimme that' "AH NO-' monty will be kept in line via watergun dont worry about that. Anyway this gator is silly.
B-B-BONUS ROUND because i spent so long thinking about AU's as well don't. worry about how long this post is. Just accept I got to ramble cause I got so happy seeing this ask arounD AND GETTING ONE.
Lord Eclipse: Everyone sit down. He would spoil the heck out of his kid okay. Theyre ROYALTY. They do what they want. Protective to a fault tho with his kid, genuinely keeping their world view limited, fearing he could get abandoned yet again by another creation. Will not let anyone near this baby. Get OUTAA HEREEE
Lord Lunar: Not Evil Lunar, Lord Lunar. We have two Star holding Lunars in canon (Current Lunar is just Star Lunar okay). For this guy to have made a kid in a dying world? He's rather nihilistic about it. Would be giving exactly what his kid wants, sometimes Eclipse needs to step in and go 'Headmaster thats… thats not helping, get this kid some SOUP' 'a pool of soup got it-' 'No like a small bowl.' Servant Eclipse would be such a weird uncle because like he'd be torn between using the kid to mess with Lunar but also… Kid genuinely likes him too. Might even think Eclipse's 'gotta plan to overthrow Lunar' is a game that they play. (It is technically at this point esp for Lunar. Servant Eclipse deseprately just 'I TOTALLY DONT CARE FOR MY BRO- HEADMASTER' the whole time. That's their vibe. Both Eclipse and Lunar would have discussed on ways for this kid to live away from a dying world. It'd be their straw to go 'we should probably leave'.
Evil Lunar: Baby is a monster now, not that Lunar really minds. Look at how much chaos they can cause!! Destruction! Who's a good baby?? They are!! In danger of getting bored of the baby tho. Altho getting outside influence may help uh Keep child ALIVE.
But also me:
Dad Lunar Au i have around where he gets what he wants (eclipse is DEAD), but gains a baby in the process. Unsure how to handle this and opts to find a way to put the baby somewhere else… Finds another and just 'WHO KEEPS LEAVING BABIES AROUND' While cradling them. One's a cry baby and the other is very quiet and has difficulty moving on their own. You can imagine the man trying his best.
#screams thank you for sending again BELLE FDHJVS suffers with tumblr#kc had more to this but it was more character related so trimmed#I SAW EVERYONE GETTING THIS ASK AND I WANTED ANSWER#ill figure out ways to make everyone a parent somehow >:)))#tsams#sun and moon show#sams killcode#sams sun#sams moon#laes earth#laes lunar#sams lunar#sams eclipse#sams monty#sams bloodmoon#sams ruin#sams solar#sams solar flare#sams dark sun#sams nexus#bruh so many tags

Opps I've been thinking about Teru during confession arc again. Opps opps opps here i go down the hill come join me~
This meta has no strong throughline I'm just. Thoughts. Right now. I wrote this weeks ago and never posted it.
Note this may not be super on point or a perfect analysis, I’m just rambling
Been thinking about how during confession arc, everyone who stood up for Mob, stood up for him because they cared deeply about him in their own way. Touchirou wanted to pay him back for his kindness. Reigen needed to be open with his student. Ritsu had to accept his brother for who he is.
Teru is Mobs friend. But he doesn't, at this point in the story, have the same long-term friendship/relationship like Ritsu or Reigen have with Mob. He has the same need to repay Mob as Touichirou does but it's...hm, it's different.
Teru nearly gets himself killed for another person whom he cares so deeply about.
Is it because Teru has a crush on him?
...Perhaps. At this point I’d argue it’s not a crush but still an infatuation with Mob. Which can be a crush, but I don’t think he forms a crush until the pedestal is broke. At this point he still sees Mob as better than him.
Mob is also the only true friend Teru (from what we know) has had.
….
If Teru loses Mob, who else does he have? Ritsu maybe, and Shou, and maybe Reigen, but those friendships are still so new.
No, Mob is different. Mob is perfect, amazing, powerful--Mob is his only friend that knows the most "true" parts of Teru.
Teru is willing to die for Mob.
And I both love and hate that. I have a lot of mixed feelings about characters being willing to die for another and that is my own personal situation
Teru cares so much that he is willing to put his life on the line for Mob and that is something I think they will have to unpack. Just as friends or if they get together romantically.
(Honestly everyone is willing to die for Mob...... Reigen, Ritsu, Touichirou---they all see themselves as not worth it. That the best thing they can do in this situation (initially) is give up their life for this person. But they all realize through that they can't do that. They can't.)
This is my personal two cents: Loving someone does not mean throwing your life away for them. Because then you lose yourself. And what are you left with? Loving someone does mean stepping up for them, being there for them, making sacrifices for them. But not losing yourself for them.
But I’m gonna get super real for a hot minute. As someone who has been there. It destroys your sense of self. Who are you when all you are, is the other person? I see Teru doing this. He doesn't have much to stand on who "Teru" is. So he throws himself in to protect Mob in the only way he knows he can.
Teru doesn’t think he is special at this point compared to Mob. Mob is the most important thing. Mob is his only friend. Mob is everything. Teru has everything to lose. He has found this one friend, this one connection in his life, and he will do anything to protect them. He is still trying to find himself. Right now all that he is, is Mob.
He loves Mob so so much in his own way, and through their fight he realizes the best thing he can do is not die for Mob or beat him, but to save the people around him. Teru takes a huge step towards who he as a person is.
Confession arc is Teru realizing he can’t give Mob what he wants. He can’t protect and he can't defeat him. Teru has to figure out who he is, not who he thinks he should be.
#mp100 meta#mp100#teruki hanazawa#terumob#like i said the throughline here is vague and i don't have a strong message#I just#can't stop thinking about teru and how he sees himself as so much less than Mob#and how he was willing to die for Mob#god you could apply this to any of them#Reigen too#Reigen cares so much about this kid he is willing to die for him#Reigen knows himself though#Reigen just hates himself so much he is not willing to let it show#Teru doesn't even know himself#anyway um#caveat that this is just my thoughts#everyone can interpret things in the way they want to

Bacon: "'Do you still support Zam? Like, what if Wemmbu tells me to kill him?' Well-- I think... personally... and maybe he-- he would probably agree with me this-- agree with me on this... I think killing Zam is not that bad. Like, how much does he care about himself being killed? It's just one heart gone. If he gets to too low he can just craft up, y'know? Like, how much does a death really matter?"
Bacon: "I think what's more important is the things that are important to Zam."
Bacon: "Like, I dunno, his friends and... actually, I don't-- but, like, even, like, that I would be fine killing them, i-it's just, like, y'know... I just don't wanna-- I wanna make Zam's life fun."
Bacon: "And sometimes... his life being fun might mean that he dies a few times."
Bacon: "'Says that as he's on four hearts.' Well, Zam is a little bit more willing to grind than me."
Bacon: "I give up a little bit faster than him. So..."
Bacon: [falls off small hill after fighting zombie] "Woah."
Bacon: "If he really does want... to grind those hearts back, he will."
Bacon: [brewing potions] "Alright... let's pop that right in there."
Bacon: "'I wanna make enrichment for him.' Yeah, I mean he's been saying the most fun he's been having... is running around in a flower field? C'mon, bro, I can give you more fun than that, y'know?"
Bacon: "'What's the point in killing Zam? He doesn't do anything.' Yeah, exactly!"
Bacon: "But, like, I wouldn't be morally against it, I think I'd just be strategically against it."
Bacon: "It'd be a waste of resources."
...
Bacon: "It's an interesting position to put yourself in."
Bacon: "You make yourself, like, just..."
Bacon: "...un-- y-y-y-- it's like..."
Bacon: "...being, uh..."
Bacon: "...it's like being, like, a poisonous animal..."
Bacon: "...except... not exactly that..."
Bacon: "It's just more, like, being like an animal that... really doesn't give you any nutrition at all, I guess."
Bacon: "Y'know, that nobody wants to eat you!"
Bacon: "I feel like you can't ask Zam to trust you and then start killing him--' I don't really care... what you guys think I can or can't do."
Bacon: "Or what Zam thinks I can or can't do."
Bacon: "That's probably what other people would say..."
Bacon: "I don't care, though!"
Bacon: "I told Zam I wouldn't lie to him... I will continue to not lie to him."
Bacon: "If I kill him, that's whatever."
Bacon: "I'm not gonna manipulate him, though."
Bacon: "...or any of that stuff."
Bacon: "I'm not gonna, like... do mental damage to him."
Bacon: "Killing him, though, whatever, he'll survive."
_____
Bacon: "'Did you not lie to him buy saying you were gonna brew potions?' Yeah."
Bacon: "I'm not gonna lie to him anymore, though."
Bacon: "Y'know, I hadn't figured it all out yet."
Bacon: "''He'll survive,' not really if you kill him.' I'm pretty sure he will survive."
Bacon: "If I try and kill him he definitely will."
.....
Bacon: [attacking a zombie] "Dude, if I start hitting you more zombies will come... and try and kill me."
Bacon: "Y'know what position you've just put me in, man?"
....
Bacon: "'Zam's like a cockroach, killing him doesn't do much.' Yeah. I guess."
Bacon: "I think killing a cockroach kinda does something. I'm pretty s-- in my limited knowledge of cockroaches, I think they do die if you kill them."
Bacon: "But... I don't know, I guess I'm not an expert."
_____
[Bacon has finished gathering obsidian for an ender chest]
Bacon: "It's true, I was getting in the potion-brewing mindset, y'know?"
Bacon: "It was all a very important step of potion-brewing."
Bacon: "I needed to get into a situation where I needed to brew potions in the first place."
Bacon: "So I wasn't even really lying to him if you think about it."
Bacon: "No-- but I'm not even gonna do those lies... y'know? 'Cause that is-- tha-- I would consider that a lie and that's some-- that's some bullshit if you're really say that that's not a lie."
Bacon: "It's important to be realistic."

Was on Reddit in the Stranger Things subreddit and someone asked who the most intelligent member of the party is. Here was my answer.
I think Mike is the smartest of the kids, Dustin has an overall knowledge base of nerdy stuff but I feel like Mike, also has that but tends to think quick on his feet, is creative, brave, observant(sometimes) and strategic. A lot of big plans have happened because of him spearheading them.
S1- everything he did for El and being able to explain to everyone about the upside down after learning about parallel worlds from his teacher
S2- causing a diversion for El and Hopper to get in and close the gate. True sight and that Will was a spy.
S3- being the only one really who was trying to keep El from over doing it and also immediately coming to El’s aid in the sauna sequence. Plus that was also his plan.
S4- figuring out the pen and thinking to go see Suzie.
I also might be biased as he’s my fave and I think people are way too hard on him but I think my examples help lol.
I’ve always felt like they all had their specialties anyway or what I think they’d be good in and a lot of it overlaps obviously.
AND THEN, I talked about how he is also extremely self-sacrificing and some extra stuff because as always, I feel like people are way too hard on him.
Exactly! He’s also so self sacrificing! People say he hasn’t been the same since S1 and I agree in a sense but not about his character but that’s really on the writers.
S1- telling Brenner that he’d have to kill him (us) to get El. Willing to throw himself off the cliff for Dustin, trying to stand up to the bullies for Will.
S2- running to the soldiers to tell them it’s a trap when he could have easily died. The plan to go into the tunnels which led to him getting attacked lol.
S3- trying to fight Mind Flayed possessed Billy TWICE. Because Billy on his own is scary but a possessed one?? Come on now lol. People really say they hate S3 Mike and I will never understand why lol. My boy was so brave. The other stuff is because of Hopper and I’ll forever die on that hill.
S4- he didn’t get as much to do in terms of forward action but immediately running out to El in the desert when there’s no way he could have known that it was safe for him to do so.
He very much clearly is the leader and the heart of the group. I feel like people say otherwise just because they don’t like him and outside of “oh he’s just a boring character” I don’t personally think he’s done anything to be unlikable, I feel like there are reasons for a lot of his moody (outside of teenager) behavior. He doesn’t get any slack from the fandom and at times his own friends (Max and Will at times and even Lucas). He’s the only one who didn’t get the chance to really talk about his feelings UNTIL S4.
And then someone responded that he was being a jackass in S3, which is why a lot of fans seemed to dislike him and I'm like no, sorry that doesn't make sense to me. Hopper is literally an adult and threatened Mike at least 3 times in their conversation. Like you don't *have* to like anyone but I feel like the reasons that are given for Mike specifically don't make sense to me. As I said in the post, everyone has their moments of being assholes but Mike is the ONLY one who doesn't get a pass. I feel like Lucas was treated pretty badly in S1 but that's gone down thank goodness but Mike still gets shit and to me it's unfounded.
Like don't piss me off lol

DnDoc #3 - Tales in the TARDIS
Part #1 Part #2
"I was sort of pessimistic at first? But at the same time determined. It was like, this is hopeless - but also I have to get back to some sort of civilisation or at least somewhere with running water or I will die. I followed the forest trying to figure out if the trees were lined up in any sort of shape, anything that might indicate where I could find a pond. If I could find a pond I could find a stream, a river, a city, if there was one to be found."
Rogue stopped as Ruby came in with an enormous jug of water. Maybe she'd been outside listening this whole time and knew he really needed it now that he had started this.
"Stay if you want, Ruby," said Rogue. "It's good to see you too."
Ruby was no longer dressed like a Regency duchess and instead wore a tartan pattern pinafore over a white t-shirt. She seemed even younger than Rogue remembered and he was glad all over again that his trap hadn't got her killed.
The Doctor nodded to Ruby and patted the space next to him on his futon. "Come sit, so far it sounds like it's not going to be a super sexy story."
"Well," said Rogue.
"Oh?" The Doctor's eyebrows shot up in what Rogue assumed at first was jealousy but that may actually have been deep intrigue, the Doctor's curiosity perhaps turning a little Chuldur-like.
"There was a queen who really needed an heir," said Rogue.
Ruby's eyes bugged out of her head and the Doctor put his hand to his breast and said, "You didn't."
Rogue grinned and took a drink of water. Then he said, "No, I didn't. But it turns out I am a master match-maker. I am the Emma Woodhouse of my generation."
"So you did eventually find a civilisation then?" said the Doctor, still shaking his head.
"Yeah, took a long time, and I sort of turned up on their doorstep just like I did yours," said Rogue. "But they were in the middle of their own problems, away up on this hill above the wasteland. They nearly dispatched me on sight until I could convince them I was not infected with some sort of bacteria they were scared of. I mean, I was scared of it too for a moment there, until their doctor was convinced I was fine. But then they said they'd give me food and water and somewhere to sleep as long as I could complete a quest for them."
"Aw," said the Doctor, "Just a Rogue all by himself, no tank, no face."
"Yeah," agreed Rogue. "A face would not have gone amiss. Because what they wanted me to do was go to the one other oasis of green grass and flowering trees in the known world, see if anyone was alive there - which they couldn't tell on their telescopes - and if there was, I was to bring any eligible young males back."
"That is a lot less romantic than Emma Woodhouse," said Ruby.
"You're not wrong. There were three eligible young males as it turned out, and they all shared your view. I had to beg one of them and tell him all about how beautiful the queen was and how delicious the fruit away off there at the palace was - I hadn't tasted a bit of it, and wouldn't unless I could get the guy to agree to come back with me. But I'm no slouch on the deception check. So I got this one guy to come with me, eventually, after a truly horrible journey that was like the opposite of a bonding experience and he definitely hates me now."
Rogue took another breath, wondering how he was coming across. The Doctor and Ruby would understand needs-must kinds of situations, right? He paused for a moment to focus on the burnt orange of the Doctor's jacket, his striped v-neck t-shirt underneath. Once he had his bearings back, he continued.
"Turned out they were basically long-lost soulmates, or at least, they were willing to see each other that way in the name of speeding things along. But they wouldn't let me go until the baby was born and that took… Oh damn, I forgot to mention. Have you ever heard of Loxodons?"
"The elephant folk?" said the Doctor.
"Yeah, all these people were Loxodons. I should have said that at the start." Rogue waved his hand as if to brush away the confusion. He was pleased to note that this caused pain in zero muscles.
"Wait, but elephants are pregnant for like, almost two years," said Ruby. "I swear on QI Sandi Toksvig said something like twenty-two months! Was it the same for the Loxodon people?"
Rogue nodded, mouth closed as he watched the Doctor take this in.
"Yeah," said Rogue. "They wouldn't help me until after the birth in case there was a problem and they needed me to go fetch another male."
The Doctor took his hand and held it loosely, carefully. "Rogue, that is horrible. I am so sorry you had to go through all this."
Rogue shook his head, which did cause a slight twinge in his neck but it was fading. He said, "I made my choice. No regrets. We keep moving forward, right?"
The Doctor relaxed slightly and nodded. "Always on to the next thing."
"Anyway," said Rogue. "Their library was amazing."

alriiiight @seeinhindsight i thought long and hard and came up with a list idea for your reading and cheering up pleasure! one of my fav things in narratives is when the setting is inseparable from the story: it shapes it, it causes it, in some ways it is the story. or maybe, if we're lucky, the setting is almost a character itself.
so without further ado, here is A List Of Setting-Oriented Stories That I Love (in no particular order):
1) Here Today by Ann M. Martin: (Setting As Personhood and Protector) a gut-wrenching little middle-reader novel that has haunted me since i was 13 where a cul-de-sac full of weird outcast poor kids and their parents/neighbors are both harmed and held together by being from Witch Tree Lane. 10/10, have not stopped thinking about it for 20 years and upon reading it again in my 30s was happy to find that it holds up <3
2) IT by Stephen King: (The Horror of Setting) the novel and the movies are both really good, but when it comes to the setting aspect, the book wipes the floor with the movies. 1153 pages of how derry, maine eats people alive (sometimes literally), shapes them into what they were destined to be from the foundation of the world (for better or for worse), and creates the cycle of violence while also being the only way to break it. 9/10, mr. king, you and your cocaine are fucking crazy
3) Teen Wolf: (Setting As Villain) i'd be remiss not to put this on the list when it ruled my life for almost a decade, no? even in the batshittery that this show could be at times, you can't escape the fucking brilliance of beacon hills, california being a literal beacon for the supernatural, awoken by the heartfelt sacrifice of three kids that were willing to die to save their parents. god. if only jeff davis knew how to delve deep. we really could've had something there. 6/10, because s5 brings that shit wayyyy down
4) Outer Banks: (Setting As Motivation) i'm mostly drawing from season 1 since anything truly meaningful went out the window after that, BUT setting a treasure hunting story on an island where "you either have two jobs or two houses" is just. the best fucking decision they could've made. you see the stark contrast between Figure 8 and the rest of the island in the same light as the pogues do, informing their desperate (and sometimes bad) choices and rewarding these kids for not knowing when to quit. 10/10 for season 1, 5/10 as a whole
5) Low Tide: (Setting As Motivation 2.0) following up obx with this one because it's literally exactly the same thing lmao. once again teenagers, once again treasure hunting, once again a setting that breeds wealth inequality - in this case, a beach town where the rich swoop in for the summer and then get to leave, while the poor are stuck there forever, holding everything down. what can i say...when i like a theme, it'll always be the more the merrier. TWO CAKES, as they say. 7/10, thank you jaeden martell for my life
6) Feel The Beat: (Setting As Story Success) idk if that tagline makes sense, but i mean that if this cheesy little dance movie that i love with all of my stupid, sentimental, old lady heart was set anywhere other than Bootyass Nowhere, Wisconsin, it wouldn't have worked. sure, the same sort of plotline could play out, but it would be missing most of the heart, depth, realism, and casseroles that make it great. 10/10, no notes. and i really truly mean that.
7) Attack The Block: (Setting As Both Savior and Destroyer) this is a newer one (and it was on my last list lol) but it really fucking got me, guys. the backdrop of an alien invasion being a british housing estate where the people are already used to banding together against outside forces is a stroke of genius. and then the intersection of classism and racism and how they link up to punish the people that deserve it least...fuck. 8/10 as we established last time
8) Plan B: (America Is Hell) not a #deep and hard-hitting exploration of setting in any way, but a hard-hitting story so deeply american in nature that you can't really ever forget it during the entire runtime. it haunts the narrative at every single turn, from parties to pharmacies to rundown little dive bars and playgrounds after dark. the usa is its own special brand of Fucked and even our teen comedies can't escape it. 9/10, just because I Did Not Ask To See That Penis, Thanks
9) Tarzan: (Finding Yourself Through Setting) GENUINELY MY FAVORITE MOVIE OF ALL TIME! (and maybe where this whole Setting thing started for me? who knows.) just. the jungle as a place to get away from all the societal noise and expectations and rules and just learn to Be. to be and feel and love and make your own choices. and for once in the damn movie canon of the world, the heroine gets to stay! she gets to stay. she doesn't leave her happiness behind and even gets to keep her father, who stays with her too!! 10/10, god fucking bless my soul
9.5) also shoutout to The Legend Of Tarzan which is much, much different but a solid 8/10 because all tarzans are good tarzans :')
10) Joy Ride: (Setting As Suffocation) the vast majority of this horror/thriller movie happens either 1) inside a car or 2) inside a single hotel room and that makes it so much more terrifying. it really does feel suffocating and like there's nowhere to hide and no way to escape this angry faceless man growling at you over the radio. guh, i'm shuddering just thinking about it. 8/10, when will boys stop being so stupid
the end <3
#personal#i'm sure there's more novels i just can't think of them rn#anyways ameet i hope this fulfilled your yearning for a list!!#and to anyone else who might bother to read this thank u for ur time and i highly recommend all of these :)))#long post ///

I generally cannot stand Will Ferrell. Because most of his movies are just him doing the Will Ferrell Character. Semi-Pro? Will Ferrell Character with an afro. Anchorman? Will Ferrell Character with a mustache. Talladega Nights? Will Ferrell Character in a race car. Stepbrothers? Will Ferrell Character with John C. Reilly.
But then he puts out a Stranger than Fiction or an Everything Must Go, and I'm like, Goddammit, why don't you do this all the time? Because he can actually be really, really GOOD when he wants to be.
I really like Blades of Glory, and I'm willing to die on the hill of Elf is a Christmas Classic, for Elf he also turned down a ton of money to do a sequel because the script was soulless I think it was.
I think part of the reason he does some of the movies he does is for similar reasons to Adam Sandler, they can both fart out a comedy that gets everyone a paycheque and also turns a profit.
Maybe rescue the damsel in distress from the clutches of tom cruz, like that one theory out there.
Both of them can turn in seriously high caliber performances, but man if you can go and make a couple million while on a vacation with a bunch of your friends and help out some performers, writers, the local economy of whatever town you go shoot in, maybe stunt cast one of your heroes so you can have a excuse to meet them (that's my Bob Barker theory) (if it were me I'd figure out a way to get Buzz Aldrin on set) why not do it?
Wish Tom Hanks would do the occasional project that's for no reason other than to just have fun with my friends, Joe vs the Volcano and all the islanders are friends of his or something.
I totally get where you're coming from though, it'd be really nice to see some of these guys out there making some of the serious projects we know they can, making people laugh is also a equally noble endeavor we do need to remember that.
Never expected the Stranger than Fiction performance from Will Ferrel till the third time I watched it, of all the people I was expecting to have hidden chops like that he was not on that list.
Real question with all of this is what are Jud Apatow's primaries going to do now that the stoner film is basically dead, seth rogan will have to actually audition for someone.

Because I love villain AUs, what about this? An AU where En, Banjo, and Hikage are all villains. Thank you!
I'm not sure of the age difference between all of them (because Hikage being 40 at death could mean Banjo was like, 39 when he died) so let's just say they're the same age and En is 5 years younger.
Hikage was not a willing villain. AFO saw how close he was with Third and wanted to try and use him against the then current OFA holder, but couldn't bring himself to do it. Hikage just reminded him too much of his Yoichi, so he did the next best thing and kidnapped him before he got OFA and stuck him in the vault. After realizing Hikage enjoyed the isolation of the vault, AFO figured he needed a new torture method to get him to join in villainy.
That method came in the form of a young Banjo, who was yet to become a hero and was still looking for work. AFO basically said he'd pay him to be his son's friend. Not the job he wanted, but he couldn't afford to be picky. After an initial rocky start, the two actually became good friends and Hikage was really coming out of his shell. Then AFO threatened to kill Banjo if Hikage didn't join him in villainy. With no other option, he agreed. Banjo joined him, but he didn't know the true nature of the operation until later.
It was only revealed to him once AFO was sure that Banjo had been molded enough that he wouldn't see anything wrong with what AFO was doing (plus he keeps the really bad stuff away from everyone else). This was also the time when Banjo would meet a young En. He had just started his underground career, but was struggling to make ends meet. Banjo saw potential in him and offered to recommend him to his boss. En agreed, not seeing the harm and found himself being recruited to spy on the newly formed HPSC. As much as he wanted to say no, AFO had the power to get him to a place where he would not only have more spying opportunities, but more money. So, he agreed. And so we have an unwilling Hikage, a brainwashed Banjo, and a poor En all being puppetered by All For One.
One day, Hikage sees an opportunity for escape and takes it, hoping he could get back to Third. Only to see Third's body lying in AFO's arms, a big smile on his face. Turns out AFO engineered the escape opportunity all so Hikage could see the last remnant of his hope die. And it works. He's broken, to the point where even Banjo can barely get him to smile.
As it would turn out, En got OFA early. He ran into Third before the fight because all he knew was that he had something AFO wanted. He was prepared to put on act to get it, but when AFO shows up, Third just shoves his bloody fingers in his mouth and runs off. Stunned, En went up to AFO to tell him about what happened. AFO quickly tries to take the quirk, but can't. He has Banjo tie up En and take him somewhere until he can figure out what to do (which is mainly what Banjo does under his employment).
After figuring out that it must work by DNA transfer, he asks En to do what Third did to him. He really didn't want to, but it was better than the alternative. As he did so, all he could think was "I just want to give him what he wants" which was good enough for the OFA transfer. OFA tried to resist, but En's pretty strong-willed and at last, AFO has his little brother back.
With all of En's intelligence, he's got enough to topple the HPSC and get rid of the heroes Yoichi loved so much. So, he plans to hill him. Mainly because he didn't want more people to know about how he got OFA than strictly necessary. And why have a replacement Yoichi when you have the real one? He plans to kill Hikage and Banjo too, but they run away with En to the forest, thanks to Hikage's Danger Sense. AFO could try to chase them down, but he doesn't care when he has his little brother back. Now it's time to take over the world to make it nice and safe for his Yoichi. He'll find away to restore him back into his body eventually.
Meanwhile, in the forest, there's a debate over what they should do. The HPSC is gone, pretty much all the heroes are dead, and AFO has crowned himself as Emperor. They've all just begun to realize how badly they messed up and Banjo argues they should do something to fix it. En says it's too dangerous and Hikage is just too broken to do anything. He only ran away because he didn't want them to die. In the end, they did the most villainous thing of all: Nothing. They stayed in that forest until they died of old age, living with the guilt of the part they played in society's downfall. And without OFA, they had to live much longer.
...Man this actually turned out really sad.

2, 9, 17, 23, and 42 for izou and nagayoshi each < 3
Finally getting time to ramble about my idiots yay <3
2-. A canon or headcanon hill I will die on
For Izou it'd be the idea that he's naturally very observant. Like, if he can replicate sword techniques just by seeing them, then he has to be really good at picking up on the little details when something or someone catches his attention. He doesn't do it on purpose, but just by watching he'd start noticing stuff that most wouldn't.
Something canon that will haunt me forever is this line from his materials profile
Originally he’s unsophisticated with a chivalrous spirit and has a kind personality, but since he was used as others pleased and abandoned in the end he is twisted.
That kindness it's still there, no matter how much he tries to push people away, it'll always be a part of him 🥺
Now Naga.... I think a lot of the oddities of his personality are simply how he's learned to survive on his environment prior to being a servant. His reactions seem unreasonable a lot of the time, but if you see them through the lens of warlord born in a era where strength was the only way to earn respect, then you can see where he's coming from. The extremity to which he takes it feels kinda childish in a way, like if you asked a kid to come up with the baddest, most feared samurai they can think of. Considering how young he was when he took on a position of authority, I can see how violence and unrestraint became core parts of his personality. That's not all he is, though, I'm sure he soon realized that sometimes strength wont be enough to survive, and there's where the more nuance aspects of his character come from.
For something canon, this dialogue from the last scenes of gudaguda 5 in particular has stuck with me.
Well, you know, in your time, you can't just go around killing people for looking at you funny, right? I don't think I'd fit in. I'm too used to pulling out my spear soon as something pisses me off. Hell, even my allies were practically dancing in the streets when I finally kicked the bucket. So just go back home where you belong and don't worry about me.
He's just... Completely ready to let the chance of joining Chaldea go, because he thinks that's what'll be best for them. It's so sad that he believes himself more trouble than what it's worth :( also the fact that he would decide on that kind of thing without discussing it with Ritsuka first speaks a lot about his character. You can also see it on his valentine scene. When he thinks something it's the best for the people he cares for he would just decide on it by himself. It's equally endearing and troublesome, but he's also willing to be corrected if you tell him his assumptions are wrong.
9. Scene that first made me love (or hate) the character
The thing with my love for them it's that it was born out of things outside of the source material. I liked them superficially before, but only once a friend of mine said that they should be a ship it's when I started looking more into them. So yeah, there's wasn't a particular single scene that made me go "wow, I love them" but the sum of reading how they are in fgo and the historical figures they represent.
But I'll talk about two scenes I like instead cus they're cool (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)
This of Izou vs Taira no Kagekiyo fight. I love the visuals for his skill of replicating other's swordplay. He can be so scary in battle... Also love him not backing down even if he's going against people stronger than him. Hard not to fall in love with him <3
Naga's latest fight in Redline Just... The raw power he holds. He's like a fire. Powerful, unrelenting, terrifying. And yet, you can't help being drawn to the beauty of those savage flames. He burns violent and beautiful.
I love a maaaaaaaaaan.
17-. Quotes, songs, poems, etc. that I associate with them
This is my ultimate Izou song. Romantic implications of the lyrics aside, it perfectly describes his whole deal with Takechi and the tosa kinnoto. The beat its also very Izo.
I didn't had a Naga song in mind before this ask cus I find his vibe pretty specific and hard to replicate, but I went on to search, deciding that first of all it should be fun to listen to, like something you'd put on while driving fast with your frieds. After a while searching I remembered this one and... The lyrics fit him soo good it's eerie sjhhjshjsk. The ultimate Naga song, to me.
23. If they were a scented candle, what would they smell like?
I said it before, Izou's candle would be cigarettes, blood, sake and a hint of seaside under all that. Very stinky candle shjsjkhsjkhs
Naga's would of course smell like matcha tea, something metallic, either from blood or his armor, and uhhhh... Something warm. Like wooden floors that have been hit be the sunlight coming throught the window. I guess that's more a vibe than a smell shgshgshgj.
42. 3 comfort items
For Izou I guess cigarettes would be one, I can see him reaching for them whenever he's feeling anxious or wants to relax. There's also the pipe he pulls out with his fancy outfit. I think he would smoke it from time to time to chill by himself.
Speaking of outfits, he strikes me as the kind that would get himself a new one when he's feeling down. The "I deserve it" kind of deal sgjhsgjhs.
He doesn't mentions it in fgo I think, but historically his katana belonged to the Sakamoto clan before somehow ending up in his hands, so yeah, back in the day I can see him being really fond of it. As a servant it probably brings more pain than comfort tho.
Naga I think would definitely find comfort on his yari, it's an heirloom from the Mori clan, so I think he would feel connected to his dad and older brother throught it. I like to think the same applies to the white armor he wears in his third ascension. It's not said if it belonged to his father or if he got it made for himself, but yeah, I hc that it was passed down to him too.
I think he would love having a traveler's notebook to pull out whenever inspiration strikes him. I can see him all covered in blood after a fight, standing in the middle of the battlefield and writing a few lines or doodling a cool kanji with a brush pen.
Also, both of them would really treasure anything thst's been gifted to them 😌
Thanks for the ask! I enjoyed it a lot 💖

A/N: So, it's been a while since I've written anything, but I've had this concept rattling around in my brain for a few years and figured there's no time like the present to jump back into writing and posting regularly. If you've been tagged in this it's because a couple of you expressed interest in a previous post of mine - you're not obligated to read it (obviously) but if you do, your feedback would be appreciated. As I said before, it's been a while since I've written anything, so keep in mind I'm a little rusty. Apologies if the first part is a bit bland, I'm mainly just setting up the world and the characters.
P.S: If you interacted with my last post but weren't tagged, its simply because Tumblr wouldn't let me tag you :(
Description: Searching for a fresh start in the small beach town of Hemlock Cove, a young nurse takes a job caring for the recently paralyzed and exceptionally bitter Roman Godfrey.
(This takes place after the events of Hemlock Grove season 3, except Roman did not die and was instead paralyzed after his altercation with Peter. I'm not going to touch on much of the Hemlock Grove storyline and will instead be focusing on making this a standalone story)
Pairing: Roman Godfrey x OFC
Warnings: None for this part, but will update as the story progresses.
P A R T I
Hemlock Cove was meant to be a fresh start, a new life in a quaint sea-side town seemed like the perfect remedy to an aching head and a bitter heart.
I naively hoped the saline sea air would cleanse my hidden wounds, disinfect them until the scars healed pink and became nothing more than memories wrapped in scar tissue.
However, as I stood at the edge of the beach watching the black waves roll violently beneath the murky clouds, pregnant with the promise of rain, nothing about the briny ocean breeze felt healing. The air felt thick, weighed down and tasted acrid on my tongue as I inhaled deeply. I swallowed against the offending taste and cleared my throat, willing away the nausea that had accompanied it, before turning my back on the mercurial sea.
Weeks prior when I had conjured up images of what I imagined my new home to look like, I'd expected something vastly different to the gloomy wasteland that greeted me now. A quick Google search had described Hemlock Cove as a small, sea-side town, its cobbled main road dotted with colorful ice cream shops, humble beachwear boutiques and charming vintage stores, however, as I quietly surveyed my surroundings, it was not quite the fairytale beach town I had been promised. As it stood, Hemlock Cove was merely a carcass of what it must have once been, a ghost town filtered in gray-scale with an underlying tone of despair on its breath. If the vibrant ice cream shops and vintage stores filled to the brim with the nick-knacks of yesteryear had ever existed, they were replaced now with drab, sun-faded replicas of their former selves, their contents barely visible behind foggy, glass storefronts. Looking at it now, it was a wonder how the town managed to stay afloat.
A low rumble of distant thunder suddenly pulled me from my thoughts, and I cast a wary look over my shoulder at the looming, gray clouds on the horizon.
Time to go. A storm was approaching and I had no intention of being caught in it.
With my mood as damp as the impending weather, I adjusted the strap of my duffel bag on my shoulder and began the trek up the cobbled street towards number eighty-one Foxglove Lane.
As I trudged up the hill towards my destination, the town of Hemlock Cove appeared to be seeking my forgiveness. As though ashamed of its first impression, the formerly dreary facade of the town below began to slowly give way to lush greenery and between the beach cottages and holiday homes, tufts of brightly colored wildflowers sprung up, their stems waving gently in the breeze. The distant crash of the ocean was muffled now, obscured by evergreens and the ocean itself was now only visible in gaps between the branches and leaves that lined the road. Further up the hill, the more modest cottages became few and far between, suddenly replaced by more modern, stately homes that looked like they'd be better suited to the upper suburb of neighboring Hemlock Grove, here they just looked out of place.
Stopping to stare at one particular monstrosity, my brow creased as I took in the frankly odd design choices. While most of the houses in Hemlock Cove opted for more classic earth-tones and rustic stone walls, this one was painted a deep shade of charcoal. Everything about it was a grotesque display of modern hubris, all harsh lines and sharp angles, not even the kiss of natural, black walnut finishes were enough to save the home from looking alien amongst its counterparts. I couldn't help but roll my eyes, chuckling at the thought of the field day a psychologist might have with the eyesore before me, but my chuckle was cut short as my eyes landed on the metallic, black numbers fixed to the wall beside the front door: eighty-one. Eighty-one Foxglove Lane to be exact, my new home for the foreseeable future.
When I'd first scoped out nursing jobs in Hemlock Cove, the owner of eighty-one Foxglove Lane was the only one that came up, and while details of his condition were vague at best, the job listing described the client as a 27-year-old male, who had been paralyzed six months prior. The position itself required someone with nursing experience, who could stay on the property and see to the client's needs, as well as handle day-to-day chores - a relatively simple task considering food and accommodation came tacked onto a relatively decent salary. However, other than what had been detailed in the job listing, I knew little to nothing about my client... other than his inclination to have his home scream of its own spectacular opulence.
As if only to impress on me the wealth of my new employer, a large, black Mercedes Benz minivan say at the end of the stone driveway, which I skirted around gingerly, careful not to mar the pristine paint job as I made my way towards the path leading to the front door.
Swallowing a new set of nerves that had made their home in my throat, I gripped the strap of my duffel with one hand and rapped succinctly on the door with my other hand, hoping my knock would sound more confident than I felt.
Silence followed for what felt like an eternity, there was no jingle of keys in the lock of shuffling from beyond the threshold, just the crash of waves beyond the tree line and the occasional chirp of a sandpiper. Just as I was considering knocking again, a voice from inside stopped me before I could even raise my hand.
"Come around the side. Sliding door's unlocked."
The voice was that of a young man, I assumed my client, but it was neither friendly nor welcoming, in fact "irritated" was the first word that sprung to mind, and the misanthropic timbre of his voice turned my stomach to knots in its wake.
Unsure of the appropriate response, I settled for a shaky "Uh, th-thank you!", as my eyes wandered up the side of the house, my irises mapping a mental path to where I assumed the sliding door might be. After only a short amount of bush-whacking my calculations turned out to be correct, as I emerged from the foliage and found myself at the foot of a small set of steps leading to a wooden deck that overlooked the beach.
The view from the deck was magnificent and the house stood no further than 50 feet from the beach itself. Standing on that deck overlooking the vast expanse of ocean, the water churning beneath the ever darkening sky, it was hard not to feel like Poseidon himself at the helm of his war ship.
I could have stood on that deck for hours watching the waves crash and churn, but I was hesitant to annoy my client any more than he already seemed to be, so I turned and made my way over to the sliding door, easing it open gently as I reached it.
The curtains were drawn across four of the six glass doors, leaving only a small gap for me to enter through, and as I did, I stepped through into what appeared to be an open-plan living room.
Although I could not fathom why anyone would be inclined to rob themselves of the spectacular view just beyond the glass doors, I couldn't deny the living room was cozy. A small banker's lamp in the corner of the room enveloped the stony, suede couches and raw wood furnishings in a warm, orange glow, giving the room a homely feel. Most modern homes felt cold and unlived-in, but not this one. After a five-hour-long bus journey and an uphill climb, my aching body longed to curl up amongst the scatter cushions and thick, woolen throws that adorned the couch, and fall into a sleep as deep as the murky waters of Hemlock Cove.
A soft, electrical whirring suddenly disturbed the silence of the living room, and I looked up just in time to see a figure appear in the doorway to my right.
Despite the half-light cast from the lamp in the living room, the man in the doorway was somewhat visible to me. In fact, the shadows cast by the small banker's lamp only aided in highlighting his perfectly straight nose and high cheekbones. His thick, brown hair had been pushed back from his brow in a way that looked effortless, as though he'd haphazardly run his hands through it, only for it to settle perfectly. I'd have dared to call him handsome were it not for the look of absolute disdain on his face as he regarded me.
I shuffled uncomfortably before speaking.
"Uh- hi, I'm Faryn Freeman, we-"
"I know who you are," he cut in harshly.
His wheelchair whirred to life again and he backed out of the doorway, leaving me alone in the living room once more.
I guess he wanted me to follow him, so I did just that. Weaving between the couch and the coffee table, I cut across the lounge and towards the room he had disappeared into.
When I stepped inside, I realized we were in what appeared to be his study, and my client was now sitting behind a large, ornate desk, pouring over a pile of official looking papers, a thick silver pen clutched between his slender fingers.
I lingered awkwardly in the threshold, the strap of my duffel bag growing teeth and biting into my shoulder, as I waited for him to acknowledge me. When he finally did, he didn't bother to look up, his long dark lashes fluttered only slightly as he jerked his pen towards a manila folder perched on the corner of his desk.
"Everything you need to know is in the file, your room is upstairs to the left," he remarked clinically, as he scribbled something indiscernable in the margins of the document in front of him.
I charged forward to retrieve the folder, stumbling slightly as my foot caught the upturned corner of the Persian rug. I cursed myself internally, embarrassed by my behavior. I was no longer the shrinking violet I had been growing up, and even in college, I was a professional, a nurse, over-qualified for the job I'd just undertaken, with years of experience working with men who thought they new more than I did, so why in God's name was I allowing this man and his bad attitude to throw me like this?
The feminist in me begged to put him in his place, but more than that I wanted to be done with this awkward interaction and retreat to my quarters where I could unpack and decompress. A lot had happened in a short space of time and I needed a moment to process it all, so if my new boss had no intention of getting acquainted, then I was more than happy to take the high road and seize a few moments of alone time.
"Well, thanks for this," I smiled politely, pressing the manila folder to my chest, "I'll make sure to familiarize myself with all of this," I assured him, giving the folder an emphatic tap with my index finger.
Again, he didn't look up, it was as if I hadn't spoken, and for a moment, I wondered if he had even heard me. Pursing my lips, I began to slowly back out of the room.
"Okay... well, I'll just head upstairs then," I explained, a little louder this time in case he was hard of hearing, "If you need anything-"
"I'll call," he interrupted, punctuating his statement with a dismissive wave of his hand.
Resisting the urge to bolt from the room, away from my new housemate and the dour energy that hung over him like a storm cloud, I turned fully and exited the study at a leisurely pace until I was out of his line of sight.
The stairs were directly to the right of the study and I took them two at a time, my duffel swinging precariously behind me until I reached the landing.
Unlike the lower level of the house the second floor was lighter, the walls were painted a soft, dove gray and the floor was covered in plush, cream carpeting. Despite the gloomy weather brewing outside, a large skylight above my head illuminated the landing giving it an airy feel that wasn't present downstairs.
I drew what felt like the first real breath of air I'd taken in hours and my lungs filled with the scent of wood polish and carpet shampoo.
At the top of the landing to my right was a dark, wooden door and directly across from where I stood was a small, guest bathroom and from there the hallway snaked to the left. Surely my bedroom was down there.
As I walked, I noticed there were no photos on the walls, no family portraits to liven up the stark landing, only grim, moody artwork. A large floor-to-ceiling oil painting of a snake arched in an almost perfect sphere, its mouth agape as though readying itself to consume its own tail, sat opposite the only other door on the landing: my bedroom.
I shivered involuntarily, my lip curled in distaste and turned away from the offending art piece, opening the door to my bedroom.
Upon stepping inside, I was pleased to see that my client's peculiar art choices did not extend to his guest bedroom. The walls were blank aside from a large mirror, and the room itself consisted of a vanity, a double bed and a sage green armchair in the corner of the room. Ultimately, the room seemed as though it had never been touched.
Grateful to be rid of my luggage, I unceremoniously dumped my duffel at the foot of the bed and flopped down atop the covers, the manila folder still clutched to my chest. Now that I had a few moments to myself, I figured it was about time I found out a little more about my client.

For the director’s cut thing, do you want to share just generally how you came up with the idea for The Hedgehog’s Dilemma and if the story changed from your first idea?
Despite the fact that THD is set in season 1, the initial idea actually came from the Wembley hug scene and particularly comparing it to Jamie's reaction to his dad's abuse in 1x10. I figured that a) his ability to put himself back together after these types of incidents probably historically relied on no one witnessing or really acknowledging what had happened, and b) my issues with the way that Wembley was addressed after the fact in the writing aside (ie that it wasn't addressed at all), in universe, the fact that being forced into this moment of extreme vulnerability in front of basically everyone he knows didn't make him lash out or withdraw is a testament to the progress he'd made as a person. Which led me to the question at the heart of THD: how would Jamie have reacted to a similar incident in season 1, when he's still prickly and defensive and doesn't have much by way of actual friends on the team?
The other major part of the fic is the flashbacks. James, Georgie, and Jamie's relationship in this fic was essentially the product of me trying to fit everything we find out about them into a cohesive whole, and a surprisingly big part of that was finding an explanation I liked for the strange set dressing in his childhood bedroom: asides from the Keeley poster, which he probably got in his mid-late teens (she would have started modelling when he was 12-13 but probably didn't become popular enough to have posters available for another couple of years), it looks like the room of a fairly young child. The THD version of Jamie's backstory isn't like. my one definitive take, though there are some I will die on this hill, going to be part of the backstory in anything I write elements. (I won't get into it now because this answer is long enough, but I'm always willing to ramble about my Jamie backstory takes if anyone wants to hear them).
As for how it evolved... After I published the initial one-shot, I wrote chapter 2 to wrap up some loose ends by establishing that Jamie didn't get sent back to Manchester and showing him reconnect with Georgie, but I figured since I was already writing the chapter and he needed time to recover from the concussion in-universe, I might as well also write about him rebuilding this relationships with the rest of the team and with Nate. Chapter three was supposed to be a short epilogue about Jamie taking care of Roy after his knee injury, but that got me thinking about James coming to see the final match of the season and Jamie having to tell him he was transferring to Richmond, and it spiraled from there. And then the epilogue also spiraled and became Flightless Birds, which just hit 20k.
#asks#ask games#thank you!#fic: the hedgehog's dilemma#series: symbiosis#when you try to write a one-shot and instead turns out to be 80k#my initial projection for flightless birds was 30k total but uh. that seems unlikely#kvetch oc

Okay but the real question is: in your larger age gap au, is Sam born 5 years earlier, or is Tara born 5 years later?
Both options would change different things, like whether Tara has the same friends as in canon or not. If Tara is born 5 years later, then she probably wouldn't be friends with Amber, so Amber and Richie's plot would have to be carried out differently.
On the other hand, if Sam is born 5 years earlier, then she would be much closer in age to the teens from Scream 4, which could also be really interesting.
You've exposed one of my fatal flaws, which is that when I'm thinking about Sam and Tara, I forget other characters exist.
This has given me some really interesting things to think about! And think I did as I made my dinner.
So the intention is that Tara is born 5 years later, in 2007 instead of 2002. I hadn't considered Sam being the one born earlier, and I think unless you really fuck with the Scream timeline in major ways, it wouldn't work. I actually thought out a detailed way of how that could work with Billy having escaped and actually still being alive and then I realised I was actually having Sam be born 5 years later not earlier, whoops, but great opportunity if you wanted to make Tara Billy's daughter too lmao. You could have Billy and Christina both be older and out of school, it would have the added bonus of making his relationship with Sidney extra creepy, but otherwise, I like to stick mostly to canon as much as possible.
So, here's what I'm thinking. Hicks and Sam have an entirely different relationship in this AU. Sam does get into some trouble with the law, she does have some trouble with drinking and drugs, but she doesn't go entirely off the rails. Hicks sets her straight, reminds her that between her and her mother, Tara is likely to get taken away. Hicks is the reason she wins a custody fight against her mother.
Sam still babysits Wes and his friends at Judy's (she lets her bring Tara), and even though they're older, they're so gentle with her baby sister. By the time the babysitting group are becoming teens (around 12/13 or so), they're too old to need a babysitter really, but Judy and Martha still pay her to do so (to keep them out of trouble). They start to invite their new friend Amber over. Sam doesn't really get why they're friends, her relationship is mostly borderline nasty snide comments and arguing with Mindy, but kids will be kids. Amber doesn't seem to like her friends, she definitely doesn't care for Sam (and feels the need to comment on them still needing a babysitter), but for whatever goddamn reason, this girl seems to adore Tara. Amber doesn't even like children! She's got a little sister of her own, and they've all seen the way she recoils from kids in the park. Now to be fair, Tara is very adorable. Who wouldn't love Tara? But still. It's weird. But Sam isn't going to deny Tara someone else who will be affectionate with her.
Years pass. Sam feels a bit weird that her friends are all high school kids and their moms, but these people buy her little sister birthday presents and invite them over for Christmas... they're like a family to her. Chad teaches Tara soccer, and Mindy introduces Tara to scary movies (Sam nearly murders her for this), and Wes, well he just does whatever Tara asks him to, the softy. Amber's her second confidant, she tells her things she's not ready to tell her sister. Sam doesn't like how close they are, but as Tara becomes a teenager, she knows there's no point fighting it. It isn't a hill she's willing to die on.
Sam never runs away, she stays in Woodboro, she gains custody over her sister. She rents a small two-bedroom home from a compassionate elderly woman who lives with her son now and is sweet on her sister. She's had some problems with... seeing things, her therapist still hasn't settled on a diagnosis yet, but the antipsychotics she's given her work, and that's all that matters her therapist says. All that matters is figuring out whether it's genetic and whether her sister is going to have problems too, is what she retorts.
She works at the bowling ally, she's thinking about Judy's offer to have her work at the station. A few months ago a new guy rolled into town, looking for a fresh start away from a toxic family, and they've been having fun. Richie keeps asking when she'll introduce him to her sister, and she laughs him off, he's so not at that point.
She's a couple of blocks away from home - the boss let her go early and told Richie he'll be making up for his constant slacking by staying late to clean - when a piercing alarm sounds from her phone. It's her security system, alerting her the police have been called.
Sam sprints the rest of the way home.

A 5th Gen Hunter's Experience with Old Gen Monster Hunter
Ok, I want to preface this with my experience with the Monster Hunter series. While I consider myself a 5th generation hunter, I technically started at 3rd gen. I always had a passing interest in the Monster Hunter series, but was too preoccupied with other PS2 games like Kingdom Hearts, Ratchet and Clank, and Jak and Daxter (man remember Jak? I miss Jak...). But when Monster Hunter Tri came out on the Wii, I finally decided to try it. I went down to my local Hollywood Video (remember those?) and rented a copy...and then returned it three days later. I hated it. Movement felt clunky and stiff and stopping to do these long animations when using a consumable is STILL something I despise and I will DIE ON THIS HILL--
I would try again with the demo for Monster Hunter Generations on the 3DS, but it had all the same exact qualities I didn't enjoy. I had given up on Monster Hunter at this point, until Monster Hunter World was announced. It looked like it was changing everything I had a problem with. So I decided to give it one last try when the beta came out...and I was hooked. Cut to me today and I have put well over 3000 hours in World alone and my entire online brand is Monster Hunter. I didn't start with the 5th gen, but it's the one that finally turned me into a fan.
At this point, I've put a few hundred hours into Monster Hunter Rise as well and while I wouldn't say I enjoyed it as much as World, it was still a great time. But I've seen and done pretty much all I want to do in these two games. I wanted... something more. Something new to experience. And it was around the time I was feeling this that I just so happened to notice Generations Ultimate was on sale for $10 on the Switch. The last "old gen" style game before World came out. I was hesitant, but maybe after all my time with the two newest ones, maybe I could finally enjoy an old gen one for what it was. Nothing could possibly go wrong, right?
I decided to stick with something familiar and played Guild Style Sword and Shield. I mained SnS for a while in World and Rise, so I figured this would be a good way to ease myself into this one. As time went on, I branched out and tried other weapons and styles eventually settling on Valor Charge Blade and Adept Great Sword. Hunter Styles and Hunter Arts are a ton of fun! It was a good time. But then...old gen problems came back up. While I was able to adapt to the more stiff movement, it was frustrating having to come to a full stop and be stuck in animations when using consumables, certain monster attacks being un-telegraphed and hard to react to, some constantly running around making it hard to actually fight them, and some I would just follow to a new zone, they would immediately leave to another, I'd go there, and they'd LEAVE AGAIN!!! AAAAAAAAAAA--
So yeah...my experience with the game itself is a mixed bag, but I was having at least some fun so I was willing to put up with the things I didn't like. Sure it was frustrating at times, but it's all a learning experience, so I wasn't giving up just yet. But then came...the community...
Do you think it's reasonable to say a game's community can absolutely ruin any fun you've been having? Because I sure as hell do! I don't like referring to a community as being "toxic" or "elitist" and will usually just ignore the bad apples. But most of my experience with anyone in the GU community has not been pleasant. Very early on when I started playing GU, I was streaming it (I stream btw check me out I'm SparkyKadachi on Twitch I'm a VTuber hi) and some random chat members popped in. I wanted to have a pleasant experience with the community and explained that I came from playing World and Rise. They started to act weirdly aggressive about expressing their...opinions. Saying that World and Rise are bad games and they're glad to see someone like me play a "good" Monster Hunter game now. As if the new games ruined the series. But, to each their own. They have their opinions, and I have mine. I still prefer World and Rise over GU, but that's just me. I wouldn't actively go around shitting on the things people like for no reason, but it's whatever.
Pretty early on though, a friend of mine who had joined me in World and Rise noticed me playing GU and wanted to hop on with me. I enjoy playing with my friends, so I gladly joined him for some hunts. My friend has been playing this series for many years prior to us even meeting, so it was in this moment that I realized...he was also someone who was weirdly aggressive about expressing his opinions on the new games. As time went on, I would play GU with him and members of my small community who would say things like how GU was more "pure" and that the quality of life in the new games have "spoiled" someone like me. The term "skill issue" was thrown around a few times, which...fair. I am kinda bad at GU, but does that warrant absolutely shitting on me for not really enjoying GU as much as World or Rise?
To this day, I have not heard a single compelling argument for why Monster Hunter World is a "bad" game. People I've interacted with or watched who prefer the older games have definitely tried to explain it, but it has all been entirely subjective. People can prefer the old games over the new ones, but to say the new ones are "bad" games is just flat out wrong. I don't like old gen, but I still acknowledge the good in GU and I'm sure there are great qualities of the older titles. None of them are bad games. But I just have my own preference for the new ones.
As time has gone on, I wanted to hunt with my friends and enjoy the game for what it was, but hunting sessions would always devolve into praising GU for mundane things and shitting on the new games for no good reason. So...I think I'm done. I'm tired of hearing this endless complaining about the "purity" of the series and how the games I like and the reason I became a fan of Monster Hunter...are the ones that ruined the series. So I think I'll shelf GU at least for now and stick with World and Rise.
I hope we all are happy with Monster Hunter Wilds when that comes out. In the meantime, happy hunting, everyone!

MICHAŁ WOŁODYJOWSKI
MY BELOVED
The one and only... The man the myth the legend... The pułkownik of all times...
I'm answering this one in English for my two foreign friends that I forced to watch Trylogia with me XD
2. When I think I truly started to like them (or dislike them, if you've sent me a character I don't like)
Probably after watching the movies right before joining server zjsbxhsbzh I think I rewatched With Fire and Sword with my family for whatever reason and realized that it's actually fantastic?? And the rest is history XD
I actually think it was even before I watched Pan Wołodyjowski, like, he's just so absolutely sweet in WfnS peak Reepicheep energy and he gets only better with every next movie.
One day I'll read the books too
5. My favorite ship of them
Hshdshbd well, how could I ship him with anyone but Baśka, they're just THE romance for me
18. How do you think they were as a kid? (Like, were they shy, noisy, wild, etc)
Oh my stars the little knight as even littler knight. I think he was quite wild, as in, it's basically canon that he always felt like he had a lot to prove before he got the game of the best fencer in the Republic. Even the "if they won't fear you, they will laugh at you" sounds like something you'd say to your kid after they got bullied, so. I think he used to get in trouble often either on a dare or because he wanted to impress a girl xsbhxbdh Although I don't think he was a lonely kid, he's kind and skilled and brave, so I think all those qualities made him always have at least a few friends.
27. If they could meet a character from another show/movie/etc, who would be the most fun for them to meet?
UUUU CROSSOVER
Reepicheep, obviously, they're one and the same person. Also Gabriel Nuñez from Elena of Avalor, I know you don't know him, but he'd absolutely idolize Wołodyjowski, he could be the paternal figure Gabe deserves. And Galavant? He's much flashier and more prideful than Wołodyjowski, but I feel like they could get along, telling stories of their adventures and singing (because Pan Wołodyjowski is a musical, I'm willing to die on this hill)
I swear I'm not choosing them only because they're all knights. To prove this I'll say that I think he'd get along with Rzeczki XD (at least Pan Wołodyjowski-age Wołodyjowski)
That was very fun thank you!!!!
Ask game
#answering asks#ask game#character ask game#babinicz#michał wołodyjowski#sorry if im not making much sense my thoughts about him usually consist of just reliving the movie and thinking 'him...'#absolutely the knight ever#would i love all the others if not for him?? probably not
