✩ WEEKLY FIC ROUND-UP ✩
Jason Todd /DC/ BATFAM
The Lost Undead by Wisetypewriter
Somehow, the Red Hood goes back in time. He chooses for himself. (Jason Todd goes back to when he was 15 right before getting on the plane to Ethiopia)
a ripple in the wound and wake by countrycoleslaw
Batman dies saving Red Hood. Jason Todd doesn't agree with this outcome and wishes for more time. He wakes up, thirteen and earnest, in his childhood bedroom in Wayne Manor. Bruce is knocking at his door in an attempt to rouse him. Jason remembers this day. They're going to a Gotham Knights game later in the afternoon. Bruce's blood is still warm and criminal on his hands. Or, the one where being Robin never gave Jason magic–he was a little magic all along. Jason decides to do things a little differently the second time around.
Journey to the Centre of the Multiverse by AddictedApple
“This definitely isn’t my universe,” Jason said blankly. “What the fuck?” Alternate-Jason asked, his crassness clashing with his neat business attire. “Language, Jason,” Martha Wayne chided with a fond smile. “Sorry, ma’am.” — Or… Jason Todd discovers that he can travel through the multiverse (on top of his usual weirdness, ie, immortality) and chaos ensues. (Updates every Tuesday!)
a haunting is a horror story by thetiniestteapot

How to grieve your son by spiritsglade
You are a man. You are a vigilante, a superhero, the Batman. He is a child. He is a soldier, he is your son, he is dead. Here is what you do.

Jason decides to talk to Bruce about the fear gas.
Percy Jackson
blue food by imnotvenus
Percy stared at his younger self, maybe ten or eleven years old, so much shorter, skinnier, so innocent. The vision, dream, illusion, whatever in Hades it was, fiercely shook his head at him. There was a fire in his eyes, and determination spilled through his tone as he said, "Don't let her tell you there's no such thing as blue food." After the Second Giant War and Tartarus, Percy starts to realize a thing or two about his relationship with Annabeth.
patros by Anonymous
Shortly after defeating Gaea with the Seven in the second Gigantomachy, Percy finds himself thrown through a fountain into a time where Gaea is once again stirring, the gods are elitist (moreso than usual, anyway), and the first Gigantomachy is right around the corner. It's... super. Really appreciate this one, gramps. Keep rotting in the Pit.
The Sea's Little Star by J0j046
While on a trip in Montauk, Sally is killed protecting Percy from a monster. Three year old Percy witnessing this lets out an immense divine storm burning up his mortality and ascending into a godling. Poseidon who arrived moments too late realizes his once demigod son whom he could previously not be around is now a godling and alone. He immediately whisks Percy away before anyone notices to raise him in Atlantis.
Naruto
Praise the Log by PanzyBears
He’s twenty-six and he’s bleeding out on the ground and he’s so, so cold. But, he’s also twelve and he’s still alive. Still breathing steadily. There’s no blood leaking out of him. And he’s warm, body relaxed under the comforting weight of his blanket. He sighs, world-weary and exhausted. Of course it didn’t stick. Only he would manage to screw up death. Again. ................. Waking up in a different universe is supposed to be a sweet deal. Too bad nobody gave him the message. In a world of tailed-beasts and magical eye bullshit, Rei thinks getting strong without them is impossible. But he has to try. If only so he can mess with people and stay alive long enough to continue doing it.
Float Like a Stone — an Iwa Story by Poncho_o
Illogical? Maybe. But since when did reincarnation make sense? A better question; of all the nations in this godforsaken world, why the hell was I reborn in Iwagakure no freakin’ Sato? And right in time for the Third Shinobi War? Seems like I have two options. Become Iwa’s answer to the Yellow Flash, or pray for a second reincarnation.
Danny Phantom
Wake Me Up To Say Goodbye by ZombieRed (ZombieLieutenant)
The morning started like any other: wake up, get dressed, make sure Danny got up for school. It all fell apart when Jack's hand went through his son's apparently not-so-solid body.
Undercover Phantom AU by artistfingers
A Hidden Identity hijinks bonanza! a danny phantom no one knows AU featuring lots of silliness and maybe sometimes a little angst, focusing primarily on the newfound friendship between Phantom, Tucker, Sam… and Fenton.
Star Wars
Like Fire in Our Bones by acuteneurosis
With all of the most important things in the galaxy literally exploding around her, Leia is given the chance to go back and help keep a promise she never personally made. But then, for Skywalkers, saving the galaxy was always a family matter.

You know what I find so funny? That I’ve come across a lot of people on TikTok that have something against this one account that posts pjo content. I do too, I mean I got into an argument with them because they kept saying percabeth is strained because annabeth made Percy feel suicidal. And I ended up blocking them because they made a story saying that percabeth shippers need to calm down in their comment section because we’re crazy or something like that. And I just wanted to scream like this isn’t because you don’t ship percabeth, it’s because you constantly bash annabeth, unintentionally but prominently make Percy this stupid victim that can’t feel for himself, and think pereyna and Perachel had better development (not to bash pereyna or Perachel shippers, but in canon, this is just obviously not true). And I thought I was the only one who had something against this person but now people are speaking up about it I guess and I think it’s so funny because I’ve BEEN having problems with them.

◟𖥻 percy's girl : percy jackson
▰▰ pairing: percy jackson x fem!reader
Percy would let the world burn if that assured him y/n's happiness. Everyone knows it, except y/n herself.
warnings: jealous n overprotective percy, slight mentions of violence i really don't know if it counts, oblivious reader, no cabin mentioned for reader.
part 2 here
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Everybody at camp halfblood knows by now not to mess with percy's girl— except, well, she isn't really percy's girl. At least not that she knew, but for everybody else? yes, she is his girl.
Hard to think about it in any other way when Percy walks around camp glaring at just anyone that even dares to look at her the wrong way. And when it comes to keeping her out of harm's way? He is practically a force of nature.
Percy doesn’t take y/n's happiness lightly, so anything that threatened that is handled by him without her even noticing.
She is probably the only person to come unharmed out of every Stoll prank, and it's definitely not for lack of trying. Connor and Travis like her enough not to pull anything dangerous, but that doesn’t mean they can let her get away without trying.
So everything was planned. A simple, classic, but effective bucket on the door. She only had to come out of her cabin for lunch and they would get her. Hiding in the bushes, Travis and Connor snicker once the door opens.
She is talking to Percy, that is walking behind her, but something makes him pause just when she steps exactly on the mark the Stolls had left. Percy clocks what is happening immediately, as if it was second nature, and he moves y/n out of the way just in time for the bucket to fall directly on him.
He ends up fully covered in chocolate syrup seconds later, but he couldn't care less. His only worry is— "you okay, sunshine?" he asks, wiping chocolate off his face.
She is, in fact, okay. But she's gaping at him, her eyes comically wide. "Oh my gods Percy, how did that happen?"
Oh he definitely knows how that happened, he can turn around right now and find the bush in which the Stoll brothers are hiding just by the sound of them snickering. He is going to kill them.
Still he shrugs. "I don't know, weird bucket placement." He replies casually. "Why don't you go ahead and wait for me in the pavillion? I'll take that bucket down."
"Weird things always seem to be happening around here, huh?" She raises her eyebrows, but happily obliged as she starts walking away.
Percy doesn't take the bucket down, he makes the Stoll brothers do it once he takes them out of their hiding. And the snickering doesn't last them much because as he's leaving, he glares at them. "You two better not try this bullshit with her again."
Listen, Connor and Travis are all about going against direct orders from everyone. But they don't try anything else after that, because Percy is scary when it comes to y/n and they are not about to end in the same position as that Ares son who had tried to flirt with her.
It had been after sword training, some Darren or Dane or something— Percy really did not care about his name, mostly because he was more occupied with glaring at him as he leaned a little bit too close to y/n.
He stood a few feet away from them, knowing that he couldn't intervene without y/n noticing but still fully preparing to do it just in case she got too uncomfortable. He knew her, she wouldn't say anything in fear of being rude. But Percy didn’t have that problem, he would gladly be rude if that meant keeping her safe.
So for now, he only stood with his back against a wall, pretending to sharpen riptide.
"You know, you should train with me sometime. I could teach you a few moves." He told her, smiling smuggly. Percy wished he could erase that smile right away.
And when she started hesitating, the son of Poseidon got ready to intervene. "um- I-" she stammered.
But Percy didn’t really have to do much, because as he was pushing himself off the wall, the Ares guy seemed to notice him, sharpening riptide and sending incredibly hard stares at his way.
Darren-Dane-whatever visibly gulped and took a step back. Percy smirked. Smart move.
As the boy excused himself and basically ran away, y/n blinked at him surprised before she turned to Percy. "Okay, that was weird."
Percy smiled innocently. "Right? so weird."
The next morning due to completely unrelated events, Darren-Dane-whatever ended up waking up in the lake, completely soaked without a single clue how he got there. Percy denied any relation to this weird incident.
Worst part about it all is that Percy swears people don't learn their lesson. While y/n is just walking around in her perfect sunny world, Percy is just following her, trying to maintain her world exactly as it is, free of assholes.
But gods dammit, those assholes don't make it easy for him.
When they're playing capture the flag, they end up on opposite teams and even though Percy is focused on getting that flag, he's also worried for her. He hasn't seen her around, but he knows she should be somewhere close because he has already seen some of her siblings running around.
It's only when he's close to the opposite team's flag that he finds her: she's supposed to be guarding the flag but she's crouched down near the lake, watching a butterfly that's perched on a flower, completely oblivious to the mayhem happening around her.
Percy stops abruptly, his heart racing at the sight. She looks completely at peace, lost in her own little world, the late afternoon sun tracing shadows on her face, it's like she belongs in a painting. So beautiful.
He's mesmerized for a second, flag completely forgotten. Then—
A blur of blue runs past him, pulling him out of trance. His mind barely registers one of his own teammates from cabin nine before the boy is already charging towards y/n at full speed, catching her completely off guard.
She rolls on the mud, almost falling into the lake and Percy is immediately running to her.
"Dude what are you doing? go take the flag!" His teammate yells at him, pinning y/n to the ground. Fuck the flag, Percy couldn't care less about it.
With almost too much strenght, he's pushing the boy out of her, sending him soaring through the air, an indignant yell before he lands with a splash right into the lake.
"Dude what the fuck? i'm on your team!" The Hephaestus boy yells as he clumsily stands on the lake, dripping wet and looking very displeased.
Without looking, Percy flicks his hand and a second later, a wave crashes into the boy's face. He doesn’t care about his protests, he's busy helping y/n up on her feet.
"Are you okay?" He asks, his hands cupping her face to make sure there's absolutely not one scratch on it.
She lets out a small cough, wipping mud from her face. "Yes? it's capture the flag, Perce. This is part of it."
He knows she's right, that doesn’t stop him from scoffing. "Yeah, well, what he did was unnecesary." They both look at the boy once again trying to stand up only to be met with another wave crashing against him.
This time, she realizes this is Percy's doing and gasps. "Percy!"
"What?" he shrugs innocently, wiping some dirt from her nose without any care for the other camper. "He looked like he needed some refreshing."
He ends up being dragged away by her, not that he puts any kind of restraint anyways.
Yes, maybe everyone at camp knows about him being just a little overprotective of her, but so what? he loves her— can't help it if he wants her to be happy and safe. The only one that doesn’t realize this is y/n herself, she's completely oblivious of his actions.
And she remains oblivious through it all; when she's thirsty after training and he's waiting for her with a water bottle, when she's hungry and he has her favorite snack ready, when campers are talking badly about her archery skills and with only one Percy-designated glare they immediately shut up before she can hear them, when he deliberately walks by the side closer to the magical borders just in case something dangerous happens.
It's always there, he's always there. And all it takes is overhearing a conversation for her to realize it.
She's outside of the Aphrodite cabin, waiting for Piper to go have dinner at the pavillion when she overhears some of the girls walking by.
"I mean, come on, Percy is literally the hottest guy at camp, don't you think?" one of them says, and she feels this bubbling jealousy in her chest— something she has never experienced before.
"Agree, but it's a little annoying that y/n is always around him." the other one adds. "I mean she's sweet but he probably finds her annoying how much she clings to him."
Her heart drops, is that what they think? is that what Percy thinks? that she's just this annoying girl clinging to Percy for everything?
Before she can overthink it, the first girl talks again. "I don't think he finds her annoying, he's like totally in love with her, obsessed even."
A third girl sighs dreamily. "Right? he's always so careful and protective with her, Dean from cabin five told me Percy was glaring at him for flirting with her, and the next day he casually woke up on the lake. Listen, he would totally let someone burn if she said she wanted to roast marshmallows."
A chorus of giggles follows, their voices dissipating as they walk away without even noticing y/n was there all along, trying to process their words.
Suddenly everything clicks in her mind. Every time that Percy seemed to just be there. Always at the right moment. Always with a solution to every single problem.
She's not dumb, she has known Percy was protective. But she always thought it was him just trying to be a good friend, surely he was the same with Grover or Annabeth? but now she was sure it was never the same.
Because neither of them has Percy following them around, treating them like they're the most precious thing in the word. That's only reserved for her, and it has taken her this long to understand it, realization crashing over her like one of those waves Percy used to almost waterboard the boy that almost hurt her during capture the flag.
Piper finally steps out of her cabin, apologizing with y/n for taking too long. But she's not even listening, she's already made up her mind.
Without even stopping to take some time to think it through, she turns around and ignores Piper's questions as she sprints towards his cabin.
She arrives just when he's stepping out of the front door, and she's running so fast that she can't stop herself in time before she crashes into him. Thankfully, Percy's senses are better than hers so he catches her by the waist before they both end up on the floor.
"Woah there." he says, and even through his confusion he still finds it in him to be concerned. "Did something happen, sunshine?"
He barely has any time to finish his question before she's grabbing his face and pulling him down to kiss him. He makes a startled noise, completely caught off guard because honestly that was the last thing he was expecting to happen. A couple of long seconds pass with him completely frozen but then— oh, then he's kissing her back, his hands finding her waist like they've always belonged there.
He can taste the strawberry chapstick he has always seen her put on, but the kiss also tastes like stolen glances and endless afternoons spent together, like a love that's always been there, just waiting to get noticed.
When she finally pulls back, too soon on Percy's opinion, he blinks at her. "Not that i'm complaining, but what was that for?"
Her heart is stammering against her chest as she offers him a small smile. "Some girl said you were in love with me?"
"Took you long enough to realize." he replies simply before pulling her close again, his lips finding hers as if this was something he had been born to do.
And she can feel it, in the kiss, in the way he holds her— Percy Jackson loves her. And the best part? She loves him too.

hot take (maybe)
i know many of you think percy is the gossip guy, but in the books he usually doesn’t really care about what’s going on in other people’s lives that much. he cares about his friends obviously, but he doesn’t ever give off the vibes of being someone who would enjoy gossip and drama at all. i feel like he’s the “i didn’t ask” guy. like tell me this isn’t how it would go
annabeth: oh good you’re home! how were the guys?
percy: good. i tried to teach frank to skateboard. it… it didn’t go very well. that guy is strong as fuck but he has terrible balance!
annabeth: i could have told you that. is anything new with any of them?
percy: i don’t know. not really? although when we were watching the game, chris mentioned him and clarisse broke up. it was right before halftime when-
annabeth: WHAT?? WHY DID THEY BREAK UP??
percy: uhh, i don’t know
annabeth: okay well when did they break up?
percy: hm, i don’t know
annabeth: what do you mean you don’t know?? did he not want to talk about it??
percy: maybe. i don’t know. i didn’t ask
annabeth: you- you didn’t ask??
percy:
annabeth: this is why i need leo to be at these things!

hello! may I request completely whipped percy x oblivious reader with just pure fluff? and they kiss at the end? tysm!!
Yes, yes! Of course! Thank you so much for your patience! p.jackson x reader
“This one is perfect too!” you murmured, eyes alight with excitement as you took the seashell from Percy’s outstretched palm. Your fingers brushed his in the handoff, just a soft touch, but it was enough to make his breath catch and his fingers twitch—like he couldn’t decide whether he wanted to curl them around yours or pretend he was only shaking off leftover sand.
You didn’t seem to notice.
Instead, you turned the shell over in your hands with a soft hum of appreciation, already tucking it carefully into the little pouch you’d slung around your hips “Thank you,” you added without looking up, your attention already on the next wave to roll in, eyes scanning the foamy edge for another treasure.
Honestly, Percy still wasn’t sure how he ended up here, ankle-deep in saltwater and grinning like an idiot just because you’d asked if he “wanted to come find shells.” Of course, he’d said yes. He would’ve said yes to anything you asked. Jump in the ocean? Sure. Hold this slippery sea cucumber? Why not. Spend hours combing the beach just to help you with a craft project he didn’t entirely understand? Absolutely.
You had this way of saying things like they were the most important thoughts in the world, and Percy... well, he was helpless to resist.
“You always find the nicest ones,” you said suddenly, glancing over your shoulder with a warm smile that made his heart stutter in his chest. “It’s like they just wash up for you.”
He gave a sheepish laugh and shrugged. “Maybe they just know they’re gonna end up with you. So they try harder.”
You blinked at him, not quite catching the implication. “That’s kind of a weird thing to say, but cute. Thanks.”
He looked away, trying not to smile too hard. Gods, you really had no idea.
Another hour passed, and your bag grew heavier with little pastel shells, spirals and fans and chipped little half-moons you swore had “personality.” Percy didn’t even care what you were going to use them for. He just liked listening to you talk about them like they mattered. Like he mattered.
The sun had just begun to dip lower on the horizon when you sat down in the sand, patting the spot beside you without even looking. He dropped beside you without hesitation, brushing off his hands.
“I think we did good,” you said, holding up a shell to the light. “You’re really good at this, y’know.”
He let out a soft laugh. “I’m just good at following you around.”
You turned toward him with a puzzled look. “What’s that supposed to mean?”
Percy hesitated, a small grin tugging at his lips—but before he could answer, a loud voice carried through the calm of the beach.
“Yo! Dinner time!” one of the younger campers shouted from the top of the dunes, waving at you both. “Chiron says if you’re late again, you’re on clean-up duty!”
You blinked, the moment breaking like a bubble, and Percy let out a small sigh before pushing himself up.
“Saved by the bell,” he muttered dryly, brushing the sand from his shorts.
You chuckled, still clutching the little pouch of shells to your chest. “I guess we’ll have to finish this later.”
“Yeah,” he said, glancing at you with something soft in his eyes. “Later.”
The walk back to the dining pavilion was filled with the usual chatter and easy laughter, just like always—but Percy kept stealing glances at you, wondering if maybe—just maybe—you had some idea of what he'd been about to say.
You didn’t.
Not that evening, anyway.
It wasn’t until the next day that you finally found him alone again, leaning against the railing by the canoe dock, skipping stones across the lake with absent aim.
“Hey,” you said, walking up with your hands behind your back.
He turned to you, and whatever teasing smile he had ready vanished when he saw the look on your face. It was… shy. A little nervous. Kind of excited.
“I, uh—I made something,” you said, shifting your weight from foot to foot. “From yesterday.”
Before he could ask, you brought your hands around and held it out: a simple but beautiful bracelet made from the shells you’d picked together, strung together with careful knots and braided cord. It looked a little uneven in spots, like you’d redone it more than once, but it was undeniably you—and clearly made with a lot of heart.
Percy stared at it, stunned.
“For me?” he asked, voice quiet.
You shrugged, trying not to fidget. “Well… yeah. You helped me find them. It felt right. Plus, I mean, it’s not enchanted or anything, but I figured it could be your good luck charm? Or… just something to remind you of the beach.”
Percy didn’t say anything.
He just stepped forward and wrapped his arms around you without warning, pulling you into a tight, warm hug that made your breath catch.
“You’re the best,” he mumbled into your hair. “Seriously. You have no idea how much I love this.”
You laughed softly against his chest. “You haven’t even put it on yet.”
He pulled back only enough to slide the bracelet onto his wrist, holding his arm up like he was showing off a medal. “Perfect fit.”
Your smile stretched wide across your face. “Good. I kinda guessed the size.”
“I’d wear it even if it cut off my circulation,” Percy said, dead serious.
You looked down at the bracelet on his wrist, then up at his face—and froze. Percy was already looking at you.
Not the casual, teasing look you were used to. Not his usual smirk or one of those lopsided grins. This one was soft. Unshy. Quiet in a way that made your heart stumble in your chest.
“What?” you asked, barely a whisper.
He smiled, but it wasn’t a deflection this time. It wasn’t hiding anything. “Nothing,” he said. “Just thinking I really, really like you.”
The words slipped out so gently you almost didn’t hear them. Almost.
You blinked. “You—you what?”
Percy’s ears flushed pink, but he held your gaze. “I like you,” he said again, steadier this time. “A lot. I think I’ve liked you since the first time you made me hold a crab so you could sketch it.”
Your mouth opened—then closed again, brain suddenly struggling to keep up. “Wait. You like me? Like—Like-like me?”
A laugh escaped him, warm and a little breathless. “Gods, you really had no idea, did you?”
You shook your head slowly, still processing. “I thought… I mean, I didn’t think you were just tagging along to be nice, but I didn’t think it was like that.”
“It’s definitely like that,” Percy said. “It’s so like that.”
He was standing so close now you could see the specks of blue in his sea-green eyes. And suddenly you weren’t sure what you were waiting for.
So you leaned in.
Just a little at first. Barely enough to count.
But Percy met you halfway, one hand coming up to gently cup your cheek as he kissed you—soft and certain, like he’d been waiting forever for the chance.
You didn’t pull away.
When he finally did, just enough to breathe, he was smiling. “Took me forever to work up to that,” he murmured.
You were still close enough to feel the warmth of his breath. “Worth the wait.”
And this time, when your fingers brushed his, he didn’t hesitate.
He laced them through yours like he’d been meaning to all along.

——— ౨ৎ ⊹ ࣪ ˖
“next one: what has a neck but no head?”
percy smirks on instant. “me when you decide I deserve to be punished.”
“it’s a bottle, you dumbass.” you throw him an unamused glare with no real hatred behind it. a growing smile lingers regardless.
percy nods attentively as his index and middle fingers run up and down the skin covering your spine in a repeated, soothing motion. it nearly lulls you to sleep but you manage to stay awake with a gaze locked within his sea green eyes.
“I have another.”
“anything to keep you talking, sweet girl.”
you hope your rosy cheeks aren’t visible. “if yes is no and once is never then how many sides are in a triangle?”
his brows furrow, before a lightening of his eyes. “that’s from that book you like! the one with that guy you said looked like me.”
you nod. “he does look like you. now answer the question.”
“I don’t fucking know.”
you roll your eyes and cup his cheeks in your palms. “you didn’t even think about it.”
“well, I heard it and it makes no sense.” with his free hand, percy takes ahold of one of your wrists and begins peppering kisses to your hand.
“try. for me.”
“say please.”
“please, perseus.”
“atta girl.”
you await his answer as he thinks.
for an entire ten seconds.
“a triangle has three sides.”
“it’s two.”
percy sighs and murmurs against your hand, “I was one number off.”
“still wrong. do you have anything?”
“yes!” he smiles brightly. he laughs in the midsts of his words, “why can’t dinosaurs clap their hands?”
his smile is contagious, apparently. “I don’t know, percy, why not?”
“because they’re extinct!”
you manage somehow to keep a blank face. “you think that’s hilarious, don’t you?”
“is that why you’re laughing right now?”
“oh yes. because dad jokes are just the funniest.”
you slide yourself upwards, face-to-face with percy with your lower arms on each side of his head. you don’t miss the way his eyes linger downwards to your bare chest.
“how do you feel about pregnancy?”
you tug at a strand of his raven hair. “no.”
“we’ll work on that.”

SWEET NOTHING
pairing: luke castellan x reader
summary: y/n comforts luke after he sees percy claimed by poseidon.
word count: 600+
a/n: y'all i know. how many more morally grey characters can i write fics for? i couldn't help it, he's so bf in the first two episodes so this takes place in a world where he’s done nothing wrong <3
Tumblr media
You watched as your boyfriend’s face changed after seeing the newest camp member, Percy Jackson, claimed by his father, Poseidon.
Luke wasn’t one of the unclaimed kids, but he might as well have been. His relationship with his father Hermes was a strained one, but he pretended like it didn’t bother him.
But now, it was hard not to notice the sadness and frustration that had clouded Luke’s face as he watched the trident appear above Percy’s head. Before you could go over to comfort him, he had already run away from the scene.
You decided to give him some space, figuring that he had gone back to his cabin. As the other camp members slowly dispersed, you looked around for Annabeth.
Upon laying your eyes on the dark-haired girl in the crowd of people, you beckoned her over.
“Hey! Did you see that?” she asked you, excitedly.
“Yeah, that was crazy!” you admitted. “How’d you know he was Poseidon’s?”
“I’ve been watching him.”
“Of course,” you smiled. Luke had told you about Annabeth's desire to find “The Chosen One.”
“Wait- where’s Luke?” she asked, as if on cue.
“I was gonna talk to you about that- I think he ran back to his cabin.”
“What- why?”
“I think he had some feelings about Percy being claimed, if you know what I mean.”
“Oh,” Annabeth replied, putting the pieces together.
“Yeah, I’m giving him some space right now, but do you have any advice on how to approach this? I don’t want to upset him any more.”
“Look, Y/N, you’re his girlfriend. Just do your best to comfort him and I’m sure he’ll start to feel better.”
“I know, but you’re his sister! You know him best, what if I say the wrong thing?”
“You can’t say the wrong thing. He loves you, Y/N. He just needs to see that someone is there for him.”
“Okay, thank you, Annabeth,” you gave her a hug before heading in the direction of the Hermes cabin.
You were relieved to find that the other campers had not gotten back yet. You gently pushed open the door and found yourself facing your boyfriend’s back sitting on his bed.
“Luke?” you called out.
He turned to face you, hastily swiping at the tears that had fallen onto his cheeks.
“Oh, sweet boy, come here,” you ran over to take him in your arms. He let his tears fall again, and your heart broke seeing him like this. You knew that he acted brave all the time, but deep down, he was hurting.
“Hey, it’s okay. Just let it out,” you attempted to calm him down.
“Why doesn’t he care about me?” he cried.
“Baby, it’s okay. He doesn’t matter, alright? It has nothing to do with you.”
“Yes, it does. Percy killed a minotaur and broke Clarisse’s spear and his dad just came swooping in.”
“Look at me,” you pulled away to lift his face up. “You are so, so special. Anyone that knows you can say that. Hell, you’re the best swordsman in this camp. But you know what else? You’re kind, and caring, and you have all this compassion in your heart, despite it all. If he can’t see your worth in that, then that’s a reflection of him, not you.”
Luke didn’t say anything, instead he worked on catching his breath as you continued to rub his back and lay kisses on his forehead.
“Thank you,” he said after a moment, still sniffling.
“For what, baby?”
“For seeing me. And staying.”
“To know you is to love you, Luke Castellan,” you gave him another kiss, this time on his lips.

Having the whole plot between Nico and Percy be resolved simply with “You’re not my type” in Blood of Olympus was such a huge disservice to both characters
They are pivotal parts to each others journey. No person in PJO influenced Nico as much as Percy did, aside from Bianca, and no person represents Percy’s guilt and the responsibility he had to shoulder more than Nico does. The writing for both characters really suffers through this lack of a real satisfying resolution.
First to talk about what Percy represents for Nico:
Percy, first of all, represents Nico’s introduction to the mythological world
He is the first demigod Nico ever came in contact with
He saved him and Bianca from the manticore (somewhat)
Nico stated in Blood of Olympus than Percy had reminded of the heroes of his mythomagic game come to life
Nico wholeheartedly believed that Bianca would be safe, if Percy was with her and created this image of the perfect hero in his mind, putting Percy on a pedestal
2.
In Nico’s mind Percy is irrevocably intertwined with Bianca and everything that happened to her
Despite Nico naively believing, that Bianca would be safe if Percy were around, he was instead the last person to ever talk to her, and present when she died
Percy informed Nico of her death (Dead silence. I stared at Chiron. I couldn’t believe nobody had told him yet. Then I realized why. They’d been waiting for us to appear, to tell Nico in person, Titan’s curse)
Nico turned him into the scapegoat for her death, so that he could let all his grief and anger and bitterness out on him
Bianca sent Iris-messages to Percy, so that he would find and help Nico (“Percy has been worried about you, Nico. He can help. I let him see what you were up to, hoping he would find you.”, Battle of the Labyrinth)
Her ghost only appeared to Nico when Percy was with him
Percy is the only person Nico knows of, who also grieved for Bianca (“Bianca,” I said. My voice was thick. I’d felt guilty about her death for a long time but seeing her in front of me was five times as bad, like her death was fresh and new. I remembered searching through the wreckage of the giant bronze warrior she’d sacrificed her life to defeat, and not finding any sign of her. “I’m so sorry,” I said. Battle of the Labyrinth)
3.
Percy is the person who protected and cared for Nico more than anyone else in pjo
Tried to convince Bianca to think more deeply about her decision of joining the hunters, especially thinking of him (“Biance, this is crazy,” I said. “What about your brother? Nico can’t be a hunter.” (Titan’s curse)
Searched the woods in the dark for hours after he had disappeared (Annabeth and Grover helped me search the woods for hours, but there was no sign of Nico di Angelo.)
Didn’t tell Chiron about Nico’s parentage to protect him from the Gods. (I don't think Nico understands who he is. But we can't go telling anyone. Not even Chiron. If the Olympians find out—") Titan’s curse)
Decided to completely commit to the prophecy, solely so Nico didn’t have to bear that burden and go trough any more suffering(It was the last thing I wanted, but I didn't say that. I knew I had to step up and claim it. "I can't let Nico be in any more danger," I said. "I owe that much to his sister. I… let them both down. I'm not going to let that poor kid suffer any more." ) Titan’s curse)
Searched for Nico in the months after Titan’s Curse (Now, six months later, I hadn’t even come close to finding him. It left a bitter taste in my mouth. Battle of the labyrinth, chapter 3))
Saved his life on Geryon’s farm. (“Either way, you get my friends,” I said. “But, if I succeed, you’ve got to let all of us go, including Nico.”)
Always offered Nico a place at camp half-blood to the best of his abilities (“We missed you at dinner,” I said. “You could’ve sat with me.”“No.”“Nico, you can’t miss every meal. If you don’t want to stay with Hermes, maybe they can make an exception and put you in the big house. They’ve got plenty of room.”, Battle of the Labyrinth)
Invited him to join him on his birthday (“Is that… is that blue birthday cake?”He sounded hungry, maybe a little wistful. I wondered if the poor kid had ever had a birthday party, or if he’d ever been invited to one. “Come inside for cake and ice cream,” I said. “It sounds like we’ve got a lot to talk about.”, Battle of the Labyrinth)
Reminded him that he was still a child (I smiled. “Maybe it’s okay to still be a kid once in a while.” I tossed him the statue, Battle of the Labyrinth)
Helped him to get the sword of hades back to impress his father (Then I looked at Nico. Unfortunately, I recognised the expression on his face. I knew what it was like wanting to make your dad proud, even if your dad was hard to love., Sword of hades)
Acknowledged everything Nico did in The last Olympian and is one of the main reasons why Hades has a cabin at camp. ( “But your children should not be left out. They should have a cabin at camp. Nico has proven that.”)
4.
Percy was Nico’s first, and after Will, his biggest love
Nico had feelings for Percy, which didn’t leave him for around 2 1/2 years, and accompanied him throughout the most challenging parts of his life.
Feelings, which were so deep, the god of love personally acknowledged them.
Favonius even called Percy, the person Nico cares about most in House of Hades.
This was more than just a mere crush
Percy is so completely intertwined with most aspects of Nico’s character arc, in both PJO and Hoo, be it his feeling of ostracism, his relationship to Bianca or him coming to term with his own sexuality, that them not having a final interaction, makes his writing feel shallow and unfinished. Especially Nico coming to terms with his crush on Percy opens up the opportunity for a really heartwarming conversation and a moment of character growth and maturity for both of them, instead of it being wasted on one throw-away line.
And it’s the same the other way around. Nico is also a huge part of Percy’s journey.
He especially represents Percy’s biggest failure.
The first five Percy Jackson books are characterized by Percy having to take up responsibility and him being afraid of not being able to fulfill them. Be it responsibility for camp, the world, Bianca’s death, the prophecy, his friends, teh unclaimed demigods, or everything else. Most of the time, Percy was able to make sure everything turned out fine. He saved camp, he saved Olympus, he finished his quests, made the right decision for the prophecy, and he made the gods swear upon teh styx. But there’s one exception. And that is Nico.
Percy did everything in his power to make sure Nico would be spared any more hardships. He took up the burden of the prophecy, explicitly, so that Nico doesn’t have to go through any more hardships
He searched for him after Titan’s curse, kept his identity a secret and even risked himself, Annabeth, Grover and Tyson dying if it meant saving Nico
Still, Nico is one of the characters, if not the character, who has suffered the most in PJO and Hoo, even partly because of Percy (though, of course, Nico having a crush on him was not Percy’s fault at all)
He lived alone at 11 years old on the streets and in the labyrinth, while getting manipulated by an ancient evil spirit
He was isolated and ostracized at camp half-blood
He experienced the horrors of Tartarus completely on his own
He got captured by the giants and slowly suffocated to death in a small jar
He had to deal with internalized homophobia and his complicated feelings regarding Percy
He has been a vital part of two wars at only 15 years old
Had to admit his crush involuntarily in front of Jason, etc.
One of the things Percy battles with in Heroes of Olympus is this overwhelming sense of guilt. He blames himself for almost everything that went wrong over the last few years. Be it for Iapetus, Calypso, or especially Nico. Having Percy acknowledge this complicated relationship he has with him during House of Hades, but not allowing the two of them to talk it out is genuinely baffling to me, and one of the (albeit many) reasons why I really don’t like most of Percy’s writing during Heroes of Olympus, despite the fact that he is my favourite character by far. This could have led to a moment of character growth, where Nico helps Percy to aknowledge that he feels guilty for things he had little to no control over, while Nico himself realizes how important he actually is to Percy.
They are also so similar in terms of who they are and what they’ve been through, that even if you ignore their history with each other, it seems insane, that they didn’t interact in any meaningful way:
Both were ostracized at camp half-blood because of their parentage, and so far are the only two half-bloods we know of with that experience
They are (together with Hazel) the most powerful demigods in the Riordan verse, and have feats which far surpass anyone else’s
Both are in some way afraid of their powers
Both went through Tartarus
Both have relatively similar relationships to their godly parents
Both have gone through immense trauma and loss
And if you read heroes of Olympus, it actually very much seems to build towards a final resolution of their relationship
Percy and Nico were, aside from Frank, the two people closest to Hazel; both saw her as a little sister, and Hazel treated them both like her brothers
Nico was the first person Percy met from his old life
Percy was the one, who received the visions of Nico being captured
From everyone present, Percy trusted Nico to lead the others to Greece in his moment of greatest desperation
They both had introspections about the other in house of Hades, Nico having to deal with his crush and Percy with his guilt in Tartarus
But, in the end, after they met again, nothing happened. The only scene we really got was the “You’re not my type” line and Percy being surprised by it for a couple seconds. That’s it.
We saw no meaningful conversation between the two of them, no acknowledgement of what they’ve been through together, no lasting feelings. Nothing.
In regards to their relationship, Percy acknowledging everything that Nico has been through led to nothing. Nico acknowledging his feelings for Percy and finally letting go of this pedestal he had placed him on led to nothing. You could argue that their entire relationship, which has been built up since Titan’s curse led to nothing. And considering that they are so important characters for each of their character arcs, their characterization very much suffers from this writing decision.
The two of them, together with Hazel, are my three favourite Riordan verse characters by a long shot, but some very important aspects of both of their characters fall so flat to me through this lack of a satisfying resolution.
Both of them deserved so much better.
They are the friendship with the most missed potential in the entirety of the Riordan verse and probably the most fleshed out and nuanced relationship Rick ever wrote.
R.I.P.  Nico di Angelo, and Percy Jackson, you will always be brothers in my mind.

Things different pjoverse characters had done/had happen to them, with little to no context:
Piper mistook Clarrise for a guy and thought ‘he’ was trying to hit on Drew(she’s 12).
Annabeth and Percy were laughing hysterically over it for 10 minutes straight before they could explain anything to her.
Clarrise and Will stole baby Chuck on multiple occasions.
Clarrise is a token ‘responsible adult in the eyes of most mortal parents of younger demigods.
Mortals with no connection to the supernatural look at her like she’s about to molest their kids and brutally murder their families.
All of the Argo || crew jump up in their seats whenever they hear Clarrise yelling at someone.
Percy and Annabeth did the same thing when they heard Coach Hedge yelling for the first time.
Will, Drew and Clarrise occasionally have true crime watching parties.
In the Myth!Ares AU, Aphrodite has kidnapped Clarrise, as she puts it ‘to bond’.
After that they ended up in jail.
Drew called Piper ‘Silena’ once, the same way you’d call someone ‘dad’ or ‘mom’ accidentally, she didn’t speak to her for a week and just cried because she couldn’t forgive herself for replacing her sister.
Clarrise’s smirk is - chin up, look down at you and smile while curling the sides of her mouth down
Drew’s smirk is - chin down, look up at you, grin and wrinkle her nose.
(I have no idea why you need this info, it’s just how i picture their dynamic.)
Ares and Athena cabins have an archive of everything they know about everyone at camp, that they use for planning of capture the flag.
They have a separate archive for hunters of Artemis.
Percy and Clarrise train together a lot. Percy says it’s because he wants to beat her up.
In actuality it’s because at this point Clarrise is the only person who can beat Percy in combat. And they’re the only people, they can train with, using their full range of abilities and power.
Clarrise threw what remained of her helmet into the attic of the Big House after the battle of Manhattan, she now wears none or on rare occasions takes one that belonged to Silena.
Silena’s helmet is covered with ornaments that she scratched onto it and filled in with silver.
Drew and Clarrise both say ‘don’t be mean’ whenever they hear the other talking to someone they have a tendency to be mean to.
Both of them picked that habit up from Silena.
Will once asked Clarrise and Drew to be ‘more ally’
Those two got offended that they ‘have to tone down their gay’
Will just wanted to introduce them to Nico, and needed them to look less judgmental so he wouldn’t think they’re homophonic.
Piper lashed out at Drew for doing something mean, while in Drew’s eyes it was her attempt to create a better relationship with her

Percy jackson x fem!reader
synopsis: After a long day of suffering through period cramps, you find comfort in Percy’s arms.
Tumblr media
You’d been stuck in bed all day, curled up beneath your blankets, suffering through the worst cramps of your life. They were so bad that even Chiron had taken pity on you, letting you skip all your activities. Not that it made you feel any better—if anything, the quiet only made your misery worse.
Percy had been in and out of your cabin all day, checking on you whenever he could. He was always sweet, but when you were on your period? He was downright doting. If he had his way, he’d probably stay by your side the entire time, but unlike you, he didn’t have a valid excuse to ditch camp responsibilities.
By the afternoon, you were just lying there, staring at the ceiling, questioning all your life choices, when the door suddenly burst open.
There stood Percy, hands overflowing with snacks, candy, and your favorite comfort foods, looking ridiculously pleased with himself.
To say he was prepared would be an understatement. He was armed—ready for whatever mood swings, cravings, or dramatics you threw at him. Because if there was one thing he knew about you during this time of the month… it was that he had to be.
The moment you saw him standing there, arms full of your favorite things, looking like the sweetest, most thoughtful boyfriend in the world, you let out a pitiful whine. Why did he have to be so perfect? It wasn’t fair. You were suffering, and he looked like that.
Percy just chuckled, stepping inside and nudging the door shut with his foot. He made his way over to you, setting everything down on the bed beside you before digging through the pile. A second later, he pulled out a heating pad, his expression softening as he looked at you.
“How are we feeling?” he asked, his voice gentle as he sat down beside you.
You just gave him a long, suffering look. Instead of answering, you let him carefully lift the blanket, pushing it aside just enough to reach you. His fingers brushed against your skin as he eased your shirt up slightly, the warmth of his touch almost distracting before he placed the heating pad against your lower stomach.
The relief was instant, and you sighed, but your face remained serious as you looked at him. “I’m going to die.”
Percy pressed his lips together, clearly fighting back a smile. He was trying so hard to take you seriously, but the dramatic way you said it almost made him crack. Still, he nodded solemnly, reaching up to brush his fingers over your cheek.
“You’re not gonna die, angel,” he assured you, voice steady despite the amusement dancing in his eyes. “Not on my watch.”
You rolled your eyes. As if he could actually prevent your death. The cramps were ruthless, the suffering endless, and here he was, acting like his mere presence could keep you alive.
Still, you glanced at the pile of stuff he’d brought, eyeing it with mild curiosity. If he expected you to be nice while you were in agony, he’d have to earn it.
“What’d you bring?” you asked, tilting your head slightly, voice flat but expectant. If he was trying to bribe you into being less miserable, he better have come prepared.
Percy shifted, sitting cross-legged among the pile of stuff he’d brought, completely unfazed by your mood. He started rummaging through everything, listing each item as he pulled it out.
“Mm… chocolate,” he murmured, setting a bar aside. “Strawberry and pineapple juice… chocolate chip cookies… marshmallows… ice cream bars…” He kept digging, pulling out more. “Gummies, chips…”
He glanced up at you then, as if waiting for your reaction, like he had just unveiled the greatest offering in history.
At that, your interest finally piqued. You shifted slightly, eyeing the pile with newfound appreciation.
“Oh, now we’re talking,” you muttered, sitting up just a little. Then, your gaze locked onto one specific item, and you gasped. “Wait—chocolate chip cookies?”
Percy smirked, holding up the pack like some grand prize. “Obviously.”
You grabbed the pack from his hands, wasting no time in opening it and taking a bite. The sweet, familiar taste melted on your tongue, and for a moment, the cramps didn’t seem as unbearable.
But then you looked at Percy. Just sitting there, watching you with that stupidly handsome face, sea-green eyes full of something soft, the dim light making his features look unfairly perfect.
And just like that, a new wave of sadness hit you. Ugh. You wanted to hug him. Badly. But moving sounded like the worst idea ever. So instead, you just sighed dramatically, chewing slower, suddenly even more miserable.
Percy blinked, watching your sudden shift in mood. A second ago, you were excited over the cookies—now you just looked… sad?
His brows furrowed, concerned but also slightly amused. “Wait—what happened? I thought those were your favorite.”
You huffed, glaring at him like it was his fault you were suddenly overwhelmed with emotions.
“Don’t be stupid,” you muttered, taking another bite of your cookie. “Shut up.”
Percy just raised an eyebrow, clearly holding back a laugh.
You kept eating, still pouting, but somehow, without even asking, you got exactly what you wanted.
Percy ended up behind you, leaning against the headboard, his arms wrapped around you as you curled into him. He was warm, solid, his hand absentmindedly running up and down your arm while he talked about nothing in particular—random camp drama, something funny Grover said, the absolute injustice of a seagull stealing his fries the other day.
You weren’t really listening, too busy munching on your snacks. At one point, you broke off a piece of your cookie and wordlessly pressed it to his lips. He just grinned, taking a bite without question.
You kept nibbling on your snacks, but as Percy kept talking, something shifted inside you. His voice, soft and warm, seemed to fill the space around you, but it wasn’t just the words that caught your attention.
You couldn’t help but look up at him, catching the glint of sunlight in his sea-green eyes. God, he was beautiful. His smile, the way his hair fell messily across his forehead, the way his voice sounded so effortlessly kind—it all made your chest tighten.
You loved him so much.
It was almost unbearable. The way he was so perfectly everything you could ever want in a person, the way he cared for you even when you were being dramatic and grumpy and miserable. You were so lucky to have him, and yet, in that moment, it felt like maybe you didn’t even deserve him.
As he rambled on about something Grover had said, you blinked quickly, trying to keep the tears at bay. You just wanted to bury your face in his chest and cry because you were so overwhelmed with how much you loved him.
But instead, you just reached up, gently tracing the line of his jaw with your fingertips, still in awe of how perfect he was. He glanced down at you, noticing the shift in your expression.
“What?” he asked, his voice soft, but you couldn’t find the words to answer. You just smiled, a little shaky, because you didn’t want to ruin the moment with the flood of emotions that threatened to spill out.
“I love you,” you whispered, barely above a breath.
Percy paused, a mischievous smile creeping onto his face as he looked down at you. “Aw, what? Do you have a crush on me or something?”
You rolled your eyes, glaring up at him, before giving him a soft punch to his side. “Idiot.”
He laughed, dodging the punch with ease, and you tried to shift away from him, feeling suddenly embarrassed.
But Percy grabbed you gently, pulling you back into his arms. “Lie,” he teased, grinning. “jokee, angel. I love you too.”

sea glass, like your eyes - op81
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In which: you spend a day at the lake with Oscar, and he brings you a pretty piece of polished glass.
Pairing: Poseidon!son!Oscar x Zeus!daughter!reader
an: fully self indulgent bc I can’t stop thinking about Percy Jackson.
Tumblr media
As soon as Oscar and you both had a free day at camp, he drug you out to the lake.
He swam with the fish while you remained on the shore.
The sun beat down on your back. Its rays bloomed warmth along your skin, casting it in a golden glow. The waves crashed behind you, the sounds of the beach alike to those produced by a white noise machine.
It was peaceful.
Until it wasn’t.
“Oof!” The air was forced out of your lungs as a heavy weight landed on your back. His hair, sopping wet, dripped onto your skin. He smelled of the sea, and a hint of that cologne of his. “Oscar Jack Piastri! I can’t breathe! Get off of me!” You struggled to talk and struggled to roll out from under him.
A small zap of lightning traveled from your fingertips and up his arm. He jumped off of you then. “Ouch! Are you trying to kill me, woman?” You rolled your eyes at his dramatics.
He made a quick recovery from the incident, joining you belly-down on the beach towel. He twirled an object between his fingers. “Look at this piece of sea glass I found.” He grinned, holding it out in his palm. An invitation for you to take it.
You inspected it between your fingers. The polished glass gleamed off of the sun, shining in a golden brown hue—like honey—and infused with hints of blue of green. You hummed, and held it up beside Oscar’s eye. “It’s the same color as your eyes.” You observed fondly.
His hand wrapped around yours. He kissed your knuckles. Such a tender, intimate gesture for how small of a gesture it really was. “I’ll turn it into a necklace then, so you can have a reminder of my eyes wrapped around your neck wherever you go.” The mischievous glint in his eyes told you he was only joking.
But you weren’t. “Will you?”
Oscar blinked. His eyes flit from the sea glass to your eyes. Oh. You were serious, he realized. “I- well- if you want that, yes.” He stammered as you gazed at him like he was the energy that fueled your lightning touch. And when your smile brightened, he swore he could see that spark of energy in your eyes.
“Or maybe a ring. Or a bracelet. Or even earrings.” You suggested, effortlessly pulling a laugh out of Oscar.
You flipped onto your back, and Oscar crawled to lay his head on your chest. You no longer cared how much water he was dripping onto your skin anymore. “You’re going to have to pick one, sparky.”
“Don’t call me sparky!” You shoved him.
“Why not? You spark?!”
“Okay. I’ll start calling you fishy.” You raised your brows in challenge.
Oscar sucked on his teeth. “Point made.”
You chuckled.
Cold, slightly damp, finger made contact with your chin. Oscar directed you to meet his lips.
He didn’t get to savor the contact long, as a shock to his lips had him jumping back.
You jumped to apologies. “Sorry! ‘M sorry!”

◟𖥻 before falling in love : percy jackson
▰▰ pairing: percy jackson x fem!reader
Percy finds a list y/n made in order to fall in love, he's determined to be the one to complete it.
warnings: briefly hinted cabin 7 reader
author: this is inspired by the book mi conquista tiene una lista by Inma Rubiales. Recommended if you like cheesy romcoms (as i do) and can read in spanish !!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Percy didn’t mean to find it, really. He didn’t mean to pry into her things; it felt like an invasion of privacy. But she was the one that had sent him to look for a paintbrush while she was painting, and he wasn't at fault if said paintbrush was beside a piece of paper that called for his attention.
'things someone has to do before I fall in love'
At first, he wants to go and tease her about it, but as he starts reading, he realizes this is his opportunity.
He had been in love with her for so long he couldn't even pinpoint the exact moment. He has tried to get her to notice, but either she is too oblivious or she acts like it.
But this list- this list is exactly what Percy needed. He can't tell her, of course, but he is sure that he can check off all the boxes in her list. Then, that's going to show her that he is at least worth a date.
"Percy, did you find my paintbrush?" she calls from out of the cabin, he quickly pockets the piece of paper on his jeans and takes the brush to go with her.
it is no big deal, he's just going to take the list with him to make sure he can follow it. She won't realize.
1. sings with me (even if they can't sing well)
Percy loves watching her in her element, how she gets absorbed once she's in front of the easel, the way her brush runs through the white canvas, how her brows furrow together when she makes a mistake that surely no one but her is able to notice.
She sings when she's distracted, and percy loves it. Her voice is just perfect. And somehow, she always seems to know every song playing on the radio.
And he always finds an excuse to just sit there and watch her as she paints. It's a wonder how she hasn't realized how utterly in love he is, because every time he looks at her with such love in his eyes that by this point, everyone in camp knows about it.
Sometimes he helps her, mostly when she can't seem to find the paintbrush or pallete she needs, which is why he even found the list to begin with and- talking about the list! Percy remembers exactly what the first point was.
Sing with her. Percy doesn’t like singing, he's sure that didn’t come with the list of talents provided by Poseidon. He thinks his voice is terrible and even the idea of singing and disturbing the beautiful sound of her voice was just wrong.
So he starts small, humming along the music. He recognizes this one. That's a first. Even y/n seems surprised as she pauses for a moment, a small smile tugs at her lips before she goes back to painting, but Percy swears he sees the spark of amusement in her expression.
"You know this one?" she asks, her tone light and teasing. "Come on, sing with me"
"I’m not a singer" he mutters, immediately stopping his humming. "In fact, i'm terrible at singing."
"Who said you had to be a good singer? It’s not an audition" she teases, picking up a clean paintbrush and holding it out to him like a microphone. "here."
Before he can even think about protesting, the chorus of the song kicks in, and she starts singing, her voice clear and cheerful. Percy groans, but he picks up the paintbrush as he starts humming again.
She grins widely. "See? it's not that hard"
"I’m still not singing, no way" he insists, though his voice is softer now, the edges of his reluctance smoothing out just by the sight of her smile.
"Oh, you will" she says confidently, twirling the paintbrush and pointing it at him like a challenge. "Come on, It’s a duet. You can’t say no."
And he really can't, not because he cares about any duet whatsoever but just because he can't ever say no to her.
Before Percy knows it, the words spill out of him, hesitant at first, but then stronger as he loosens up. He's Slightly off key, but she doesn’t seem to care. She cheers him on, laughing as he stumbles over the lyrics.
"You know, you're actually not that bad." she teases as the song reaches its end.
"You're ridiculous." he says between chuckles, handing the paintbrush back.
"And you’re fun sometimes." she replies, beaming up at him.
He gasps playfully. "Excuse you? sometimes?"
When she burst out laughing, Percy smiles at her. He wasn't expecting checking off the first item on the list would be this easy. Or this fun.
2. dances in the rain with me.
The second item comes just as naturally as the first one. Percy doesn’t have to force anything, it just so happens that a few days later, it started raining just when they were walking back from sword training.
Most campers around them take their things and run for cover. Percy's just about to do the same, knowing the rain is probably Zeus' doing and not wanting to be anywhere near it, when his eyes fall on her and stops right on his track.
Far from being agitated by the sudden downpour like everyone else, she tilts her face up, laughing as the rain fall all over her. She looks so carefree, so beautiful, that Percy can hardly be blamed for allowing himself to be pulled into her orbit once again.
Without hesitation, he steps forward, takes her hand, pulls her closer and spins her around. She is confused at first, but then she laughs, her face full of joy.
Percy is not a good dancer in the slightest, but he tries just for her. He lets himself relax under the pouring rain, twirling her again and again, his hands holding her waist as she throws her head back, laughing like its the best thing in the world.
He knows there are people around them, probably watching, but he can’t bring himself to care. Her smile, her laugh, make everything else fade into the background. It's like they are in one of those cheesy romantic movies that she has always seem to enjoy so much.
When the moment slows, Percy reaches out and gently brushes wet strands of hair off her face. She leans into his touch, smiling softly, and for a second, he’s sure his heart skips a beat.
"I didn’t know you were such a good dancer." she comments, her voice filled with amusement as she tries to catch her breath, raindrops running down her cheeks.
I could be anything for you he thinks, but instead, he smiles playfully. "maybe i'm just full of surprises."
3. creates something just for me
bonus: 4. knows my favorite flower
Percy realizes soon enough that not everything on the list is going to be as easy as simply going with the flow. He is good at a lot of things, but crafting isn't one of them, so going through the process of creating something was just- difficult to say the least.
Still, he doesn’t want to half-ass this one, if she wants him to create something for her, then it'll have to be special.
That's where Leo comes in, Percy has to beg the boy for his help. But once he ends up agreeing, it's all set to go.
"metal flowers?" Leo repeats, leaning against the workbench in bunker nine. "Really, dude? you're whipped."
Percy shrugs, trying to act casual. "She really likes flowers. And uh- she loves peonies."
How does Percy knows she loves peonies? even he's surprised, he doesn't remember her telling him. But he simply knows. And he's sure of it, too.
"And couldn't you simply buy her some flowers?" Leo asks, but Percy can already see the gears turning in his head.
"She deserves something unique and special, doesn’t she?" He replies, and that seems to be enough for Leo.
"Alright, let's get to work then."
The two of them spend hours working together. Leo shows Percy how to mold and bend the metal into petal shapes. It's easier said than done, but after a few tries, Percy's able to do it by himself while Leo focuses on welding them together, because he doesn’t trust Percy won't end up burning down the bunker.
When they're finally done, they have a steel peony. It isn't perfect, but Percy's proud of it. It feels special, and he can't wait to give it to her, he barely manages to thank Leo before he's rushing out of the bunker.
He's able to find y/n on the stables, she has her hair in a ponytail, a few strands falling messily over her face. She's focused on grooming a pegasus, so she doesn’t notice Percy until he taps her shoulder.
She's startled at first, but once she sees Percy, she visibly relaxes. "Oh hi Perce, do you need something?"
Percy was excited, but now he's clearly nervous as he stutters through his words. "I- um- I made something for you."
That gets her attention, she looks at him surprised as she sets the comb down. "You got me something? what do you-"
Her words trail off when Percy pulls his creation from behind his back. She seems surprised, looking in between the flower he's holding and his face, as though she can't surely trust her eyes.
"you like peonies, don't you?" he asks hesitantly, even though he had been one hundred percent sure of his choice a few hours ago.
She opens and closes her mouth, words dying before they can escape her lips as she reaches and takes the steel peony from Percy's hand.
It takes her just a moment to realize that Percy is still looking at her with eyes full of doubt, and then her lips finally curl up into a beaming smile. "Like them? Percy i adore peonies." she looks back at the flower in her hand, and she almost feels like crying. "It's so beautiful, how did you make it? how did you know I like peonies?"
"I'm sure you've mentioned it before" he shrugs, trying to hide how nervous he is. "but i'm glad you liked it."
"I love it." she reassures him, her smile wide. "thank you, Perce."
And when she leans and kisses his cheek, he knows the effort was worth it. He would do anything just to make her happy.
5. listens to me
bonus: 6. shares his opinions with me
Some of these were the easiest because, well- Percy already did them. It was the minimum he could do, really. Listening to her came as a second nature.
He could be in a room full of people, all of them talking at once. but the moment y/n's voice filled his ears, he would be the first one listening.
Right now, he's in the middle of a shouting match with Clarisse. Cabin meetings always go just like this, they waste the first hour without accomplishing anything, the other counselors are used to this by now.
"I'm just saying, we shouldn't show any weakness! we should focus on our defense." Clarisse slams her palms against the ping pong table, her voice rising. "we're still vulnerable and we shouldn't rely on a stupid dragon for everything!"
"And i'm just saying." Percy fires back, already losing what little patience he has. "We need to focus on training new campers first, we-"
Clarisse cuts him short, it's not the first time she has done it. "what better training than patrolling the borders?"
"We won't send our new campers to fight monsters without any previous training!" His voice rises, everyone else stares like they're watching a tennis match. "We won't send them to die, have you gone mad?"
Before Clarisse can reply, surely to fire back with some offense on her part, y/n's voice cuts through the noise.
"Okay, let's calm down." Percy's head whips towards her the moment she talks, the heat of the argument forgotten the moment his eyes find hers. "you both have a point."
"but-" Clarisse starts again, but Percy's faster.
"let her talk" he interrupts before they can get into another argument.
y/n falters for a moment. She isn’t even supposed to be at this meeting, she’s only covering for Will, who’s stuck at the infirmary with some campers who got into a fight. She feels out of place and is ready to choke on her words. But when her gaze meets Percy’s, he nods at her and offers a small, reassuring smile. It’s all she needs to find the courage to continue.
She takes a deep breath and then keeps going. "Defense is important, but we do need more trained campers. Maybe we could compromise? Split the efforts? Half the camp focuses on guarding the borders, while the other half works on training?"
There's a murmur of agreement amongst everyone else at the table, even Clarisse seems to deflate as she acknowledges the logic in her suggestion. But her eyes are still focused on Percy, she might not say it out loud but she values his opinion.
"Actually" he says after a beat, his voice softer now. "that’s not a bad idea. If we rotate shifts, we could cover both."
Clarisse rolls her eyes at Percy, but she finally concedes. “Fine. That works.”
y/n allows herself a small, satisfied smile. Percy catches it, and he can’t help the grin that spreads across his own face.
He knows this isn't the first time she was able to calm him down or change his perspective on something, it probably won't be the last either. He'd simply listen to her anytime.
7. Shares his interests with me
It takes Percy a lot of convincing to get her to even step into the water. She’s suspicious of his plan and stalls for ages before finally caving to his begging and jumping in.
It’s worth it, though, because Percy gets to hold her close under the guise of teaching her how to swim.
"Okay don't panic." He says gently as he guides her into the water. "just lay on your back and try floating, i've got you."
She gives him a skeptical look, but he smiles and hesitantly places his hands on her waist, gently guiding her to lie back. His touch is steady, reassuring, and slowly, she begins to relax.
"There you go, see? it wasn't that hard." Percy says softly, not wanting to disrupt the peace of the moment.
"Well, i'm not drowning, so that's a win" she jokes, earning a chuckle from Percy.
As the time goes on, Percy shows her how to kick her legs, how to paddle with her arms, and she was able to float by herself in no time, clumsily treading through water while she laughed.
"You're a natural." he says, though he's already missing holding her close.
She splashes him, when he laughs, she has to ignore the way her heart flutters in her chest. "Maybe I just have a great teacher."
By the time the sun started to set in the sky, they had spent hours swimming around, splashing each other and laughing. Being able to see her smile while she floats close to him, Percy feels his chest tighten, a warm spreading through him.
"I-" love you. Percy is able to catch himself before the words can slip out of his mouth. "thank you for coming with me."
Her eyes sparkle like they're holding a million stars in them. "Thank you for teaching me how to swim."
Percy's in love, and he knows he won't be able to keep it to himself for much longer.
8. stargazes with me
The moon is high in the sky by the time they climb out of the water, the gentle sounds of waves lapping against the shore filling their ears. The air is cooler now, and y/n shivers as droplets of water trickle down her skin.
Percy notices immediately, and he grabs a towel, wrapping it around her shoulders as they sit down on the pier. "Here."
"Thank you." She smiles at him warmly.
For a moment, they sit in silence, their feet dangling over the edge of the pier, toes grazing the water. The sky above them is impossibly clear, stars scattered across the sky. The moonlight casts a soft glow on Percy's face, and she can't help but stare at him just a little longer than she'd like to admit.
She quickly looks away when he turns to glance at her, busying herself with admiring the sky instead. "it's beautiful out here."
"Yeah." he replies, his eyes fixated on her. "it is."
She doesn’t notice at first, too distracted by the way the constellations seem to shine just for them. But when she turns her head to make a comment, she catches him looking at her instead of the sky.
Her heart skips a beat, but she tries to ignore her reaction behind a small laugh. "Do you know the constellations?"
"Not really." he admits, shrugging. "I mean, I know of a few, but I always end up mixing them up."
She smiles softly, pointing at a small cluster of stars. "That one's Orion's belt."
Percy squints at the sky, following her finger. "Oh right, I see it now."
Just like that, they fall into an easy rhythm of pointing out constellations, or at least trying to. When they can’t find one, they make up their own, laughing as they assign ridiculous names to each star.
Eventually, the laughter fades away and they're left with the sound of waves crashing to fill the silence. She hums happily, resting her head on Percy's shoulder.
"Thank you for today." she murmurs softly.
Percy feels a warm on his chest he's become too familiar to. "Anytime."
9. always tells me the truth
it takes a week for y/n to notice the list is missing. And she's immediately panicking. She had written that list as a spur of the moment, something so personal she couldn't even think about sharing it with anyone.
As her siblings leave for breakfast, she stays behind. She has already torn her side of the cabin apart, but there’s no sign of the pink paper she used to write the list.
She's full on freaking out when someone knocks on her door. She's about to tell whoever is at the door to go away, but then she turns around and finds Percy standing by the doorway.
The effect is immediate. Just the sight of him makes her body relax, even if only slightly. Percy has always had that effect on her, it's like the world slows down for a moment, and the chaos in her mind quiets.
"Hey, I wanted to talk to you" he smiles at her, but once he notices her panicked expression, he raises his eyebrows hesitantly. "Are you okay?"
She freezes, unsure whether to lie or spill everything. But as her eyes meet his, she crumbles under his gaze.
"No" she admits quietly. “I lost something really important.”
Percy steps inside, closing the door behind him. “Maybe I can help you find it, what did you-”
He stops himself mid-sentence just as the realization dawns on him. He knows what she lost. He has it on his pocket.
She doesn’t even seem to notice his sudden change of attitude, she's too busy pacing around the room. "It's a piece of paper but it's personal. And very important. I can't lose it Percy."
Percy has to stop her before she keeps talking. "i have it."
She stops on her tracks, looking up at him with wide, worried eyes. "What?"
Percy takes a deep breath, his fingers trembling as he pulls the pink paper from his pocket. It's Slightly crumpled now, but unmistakable. "I have your list."
y/n's white as a ghost as she silently looks at him, so he keeps talking. "I swear I wasn't trying to snoop or anything. It was just there when I came to find the paintbrush you asked for and I-"
"Did you read it?" she asks, her voice barely a shaky whisper.
Percy nods, guilt flashing across his face. “Yeah. I’m sorry. I know I shouldn’t have, but… I've been working through it."
Her mouth opens, but no sound comes out. Her face flushes with a mix of disappointment and embarrassment, and she snatches the paper from his hand, clutching it tightly.
"Percy you don't understand." she shakes her head, tears gathering on her eyes. "When I wrote this list, I didn’t want anyone to see it, because I didn’t want whoever completed it, did it just because they had to."
He understands where she's coming from, he really does. Which is why he doesn’t panic and simply takes a step towards her, carefully reaching to take her hand. "No you don't understand. y/n, I didn’t do those things because I had to do them, but because I wanted to. Everything on there- it’s stuff I’d already do for you anyway."
Her breath catches in her throat, but she doesn’t take her hand away from him.
"I already love listening to you, and I share my opinions with you because I want you to know the real me. I made that flower because you deserved something special, and I already knew your favorite flowers were peonies. I taught you to swim because I wanted to share that part of my world with you, and every time I spend time with you is because-" he closes his eyes for a moment, he knows he can't keep hiding his feelings." simply because I love you, I love seeing you smile and I love hearing your laugh. So of course, I'd do anything just to spend time around you."
His words take away her breath, but she can only focus on three specific words. "You what?"
"I love you." he replies, no hesitation. "And if this changes anything between us, I’ll understand. But I just can't keep pretending I don't love you."
For a long moment, she stands frozen, clutching the list in her hand. Her heart races wildly, and her hands tremble. But as the truth of his words sinks in, a realization washes over her like a wave.
She thinks back to every moment they’ve shared, how he's always the first person she looks for in a room. She thinks about how she's always looked for his comfort, how he always listened to her and made her feel safe, like she belongs.
She thinks about writing that list. And how it always felt so specific, like no one could surely fulfill it. And it was always because she had one person in mind while writing it. him.
It hits her all at once: she loves him too. She’s been in love with him for longer than she realized.
"Percy" she mumbles, her voice soft and her eyes full with tears. "I love you too."
That's everything he needs to hear. He doesn’t even need to ask for confirmation. He can see it in her eyes. He knows.
Before she adds anything else, Percy leans in, his lips brushing against hers in a soft, tender kiss. It’s everything she imagined and more, and she knows in that moment that every word he said was true.
She loves him. She’s sure of it now, just as sure as she is that he loves her.
When he pulls back, there’s a smile on his face that makes her heart flutter. He reaches up, lightly tapping the paper in her hand, his voice warm and teasing. "Looks like you can cross the last item off your list."
10. Kisses me

i need to talk about vex and percy and why their episode three arc made me cry genuine, real tears (not kidding, tears left my eyeballs and like, it made my tummy ache)
vex is a bad omen, she thinks. her love for anyone is ruinous for them and she genuinely views herself as unlovable. the closer someone gets to her heart, the more likely they are to see that there is something wrong with her and they will reap the negative consequences of that. there’s something sick in her and sooner or later it will rear its head, so she might as well beat it to that.
percy loves her regardless and he makes that clear to her. he doesn’t insist that she is wrong when she admits this because he wants her to understand that even if any of what she said was true? he would feel exactly the same.
he loves her intensely, deeply and he also sees that she is truly terrified and he respects her wishes. he doesn’t fault her for her inability to reciprocate the way he wants in that moment
vex is someone who thinks she is hard to love.
percy cannot think of anything easier.
like, there is nothing righter in this world than the woman he loves.
so yes she cannot say what he wants to hear. it hurts, it isn’t easy, it has every hallmark of a situation that would breed frustration but he still holds her.
percy does not ONCE get visibly or verbally frustrated with her even with the fact that she’s (in my opinion, very intentionally) pushing him away by being dismissive and a little bit of a jerk when they first set up camp and talk. because ultimately, despite vex’s insistence that she can’t love him (and that she cannot be loved), percy sees her and treats her as someone deserving of gentleness and understanding.
she deserves to feel safe, she deserves to feel heard and she deserves to be listened to and that would be true even if she didn’t reciprocate his feelings the way he wanted her to.

Just some big three pjo things I think about.
Percy -the little shit- would absolutely utilise his ability of water to mess with you.
100%
If you leave a water bottle unopened, expect Percy to surge what little water was left inside to spray you when you’re going in for a drink. Leaving you soaked and glaring at the boy across the camp.
He thinks he’s funny but he’s really not.
You can’t even try to do this back to him as it usually results in it being thrown back in your face, literally as you’re reminded that this dude can walk into waist deep water, and miraculously come back as dry as he was before entering.
So needless to say you keep your water bottles tightly shut when you’re near Percy in case he’s feeling funny that day or has that certain gleam in his eye.
Percy can’t be trusted near uncapped water bottles, it’s a rule to never leave Percy near them or be within sight of any un opened water bottles.
Percy is not allowed to participate in watergun fights…for very obvious reasons and even if he does, the bastard had to be prohibited from using his powers at all during the watergun fights!
Everyone else in camp will be soaked and he would be dry as fuck, everyone calls it cheating but Percy calls it otherwise. Smug little twat.
Also don’t imagine Percy using the water out of an water bottle to douse you and when your chasing him, ready to kill him, his excuse is that ‘it’s a hot day in camp and I thought you could cool off a little!’ As if that was going to save him from the ass whooping your about to give him.
Nico has silent footsteps.
He can travel through shadows.
This is a recipe for disaster as he can easily scare you without having to try all that hard. And it’s the worst feeling ever.
He won’t know just how silent his footsteps are until you point it out to him or else he’ll think that he’s more than made his arrival known. (He absolutely didn’t)
Nico could emerge from the shadow nearby and walk up to you and casually say ‘hey’ and you’ll almost come out of your own skin when you realised the pale Italian in the aviator jacket next to you.
‘Fucking hell Nico’ you’d groan as you grasp your chest, trying to calm yourself down from the initial scare. ‘Warn me next time.’ You would add and Nico would only look at you as though you had grown a second head.
He had no clue what you were on about but would continue his day like he would any other, doing the same exact thing to other campers and getting the same exact reaction he got out of you too many times to be coincidental.
Even when he’s not shadow traveling, his footsteps are quite enough to have you believe that he had just appeared out of nowhere, and not walked the entirety of camp just to tell you something.
‘You’ve got to stop popping up out of nowhere.’ You tell him.
‘I’m not doing anything!’ He’d reply.
‘You’ve got silent footsteps Nico! Can’t hear shit when you’re creeping up on me, do you want me to die?’ You’d say and all of sudden everything made sense to Nico as to why everyone seemed to be unable to notice him until he was standing nearby.
‘Oh.’ He’d say. Does this change anything? No not really as Nico finds it funny to see people get scared. It’s made even funnier when on Halloween when everyone is done telling their scariest stories.
Jason tends to electric shock people, not on purpose, it just happens without warning.
I’m talking rubbing your hands on a carpet super fact and touching someone’s arm, or rubbing a balloon against yourself and watching in awe as it makes the hairs on your arms stick up.
However he didn’t need to rub his hands on a carpet to give someone an eclectic shock, he can just reach out to you and make it happen.
You could just be reaching for his hand and zap! You’ve been given an electric shock by Jason grace! You flinch back to rub your hand and Jason thought you were hurt and was already reaching out to you to help when-
You guessed it another electric shock happens.
It doesn’t hurt, you’re not in any pain but still you were being zapped at the end of the day.
Jason isn’t aware of this ability until afterwards and he’s just as confused as you and will not reach out for you for a while until he’s certain he won’t shock you.
Which is a solid 50/50. It happens when he least expects it or it can strike twice if you were the unlucky soul to get an electric shock back to back.
Guess it’s a weird perk of being the child of Zeus.

sports car ♡ f1!percy jackson x fem!reader
in which you get tired of percy’s neglect, so you go to the one person you know would be able to help
warnings jealousy (on percy’s behalf), swearing, argument (good ending tho i promise) | masterlist
'Percy has been ignoring me for far too long,' was a thought you never thought you'd have.
Anyone who knew Percy knew he was obsessed with you and therefore couldn't go more than a couple minutes without needing to be around you. However, the New York City race weekend seemed to prove otherwise.
NYC was a new addition to the F1 calendar, and ever since it was announced, you knew how important it'd be for Percy. Sure, all the other US races counted as home races for him before, but New York was his real home, not Las Vegas or Texas. He finally had a proper home race and he had to be the first to win it.
If it was just the importance New York held for Percy, the two of you would've been fine. In fact, you would've been more than fine - during every significant race weekend for Percy, he always happened to be more doting than usual, desperately needing to be reassured that everything would be fine by the one person he trusts to tell nothing but the truth no matter what. That's why you were confused. Had you done something to upset him and drive him away? Is that why he'd rather go to his SF-25 for comfort instead of you?
It was much more than that. Percy wasn't the only New Yorker on the grid this year, the other being his teammate, Luke Castellan. Luke was the first F1 driver you'd been introduced to and the first to find out about your and Percy's relationship back when it still consisted of whispered confessions and late-night kisses. He was nice enough and very funny and you quickly became good friends. Not close friends, but good friends. Although Percy was happy you managed to find a place for yourself in his world at first, he soon began to dislike your friendship with Luke.
This wasn’t your fault, of course, but Luke’s.
What you didn’t know was that there had been tension festering between the two Ferrari drivers ever since Percy joined the team. Luke was Ferrari’s golden boy, having been taken by them as soon as he left F2 thanks to the terrific season he’d had there, and for a good while, he dominated. That was until Percy arrived. In his first year at Ferrari, Percy managed to beat Luke by several points, placing third overall compared to Luke’s fifth. The golden boy had begun to rust, and so the competition between the two grew.
After Percy took everything from Luke, he wanted him to lose everything too, and that included Percy’s most prized possession: you.
“Hey Luke, can I talk to you please?” You asked, walking into his garage. Quali had finished and so everyone was busy packing up and preparing for the big day tomorrow. Well, except Luke, who was on his phone.
Looking up at you, the driver smiled and shook his head, standing up to pull out an empty seat for you, “of course, what’s up?” He said as he took you in.
You were easily the most beautiful person at the paddock today, with your little red top and the Yankees cap Percy had bought you the first time he took you to watch a baseball game. To Luke, you would’ve looked even more beautiful with your arm wrapped around his.
"Well, I feel like Percy's been... off," was how your rant began. As you explained the situation, Luke couldn't help but feel as though Aphrodite was on his side. He was sad for you, of course, but this was the perfect moment for him to take the one thing Percy loved most. If he won the race tomorrow, surely you'd be his.
Unfortunately, Aphrodite was not on Luke's side. As soon as he put his hand on top of yours in a comforting gesture (that weirded you out a little), Percy appeared, looking for you. Finding you with Luke, who so clearly had his 'Prince Charming' act on, Percy couldn't help but see red. He was already dealing with so much crap from Luke, but him going after you was too far.
Swiftly, Percy strode over and grabbed you by the arm, nearly hauling you off your chair in the process, "let's go babe, I think you left your bag in my garage," he mumbled, kissing the top of your head. You looked up at your boyfriend, expecting his usually loving gaze to finally be cast upon you. Instead, you found him glaring at Luke. And... Luke seemed to be glaring back? You were confused.
"Oh, okay. Thanks for telling me," you said, standing up. Instantly, Luke was up too.
"Hey man, we weren't done yet." He said to Percy, who now had his arm wrapped around your waist. Although you weren't sure what was going on and were now a little mad at him, you'd be lying if you said you didn't like it. You really missed his touch.
"I'm sure it can wait," was all Percy said before manoeuvring you away, not even giving you the chance to say goodbye.
The walk to his garage was silent, but as soon as you got there, Percy started ranting at you as he sloppily gathered both your things. You watched for a second before realising you were done with his bullshit. This was going to end whether he liked it or not.
"Percy," you said, calmly approaching him. Although you were mad, you didn't want things to escalate. You just wanted your Percy back. Said Percy ignored you. You tried again, and he ignored you again.
Oh well, third time's the charm.
Putting your hand on his shoulder, you said, "Percy, can you please listen to me?" Almost instantly, he turned around and had you pinned on his car, tightly gripping your shoulders.
"What? What do you want from me? Seems like everybody wants something from me these days, so let's add you to the list as well! Or would you prefer to go ask Luke instead?"
Percy knew he made a mistake as soon as his eyes landed on yours, a watery barrier keeping them from properly meeting his. He sighed and let go of you, running his hands through his hair.
Your voice now shaky, you said, "I just wanted to see if you're okay. You've been ignoring me ever since we landed in JFK, and it hurts, Percy. I want to be here for you, but you're not letting me. I went to Luke to ask if you were okay, since you refused to tell me, but now I see what the problem is. You don't trust me, do you? You don't trust me to know what's wrong, you don't trust me to be around your own teammate, you don't trust me at all, Percy. Relationships need trust. If you don't trust me, I don't see the point in us staying together at all."
Percy's brows furrowed. He hadn't expected you to come to that of all conclusions. Just as you were about to take your things and leave, he had you pinned to the car yet again.
"I trust you. I don't trust him," he began. Your lips parted in shock. How couldn't Percy trust Luke? Luke had been his idol for as long as you could remember. He was more excited to be teammates with the Luke Castellan than he was to drive for Ferrari back when the deal was first signed.
"God, I'm sorry, babe. I didn't mean to hurt you. There's been so much pressure on my back to do well in this race not just because my home race, but because its his, too. Luke has been out to get me since this season started, I just know it. If he wins this, he'll have enough points to bump me down to second place in the championship, and then God knows what'll happen to my seat. I've been working so hard to make sure everything's perfect for this one, and seeing you with him of all people drove me crazy. He's been trying to take everything from me, he can't take you too."
Tears were now rolling down your cheeks, and you cupped Percy's face, pulling him to share a heartfelt kiss.
"No one," you said as you pulled away, "could ever take me from you, Percy. I don't ever want you thinking that again, promise?" You stuck your pinkie out for Percy to link his to, which he did.
Smiling, he whispered, "I promise. Now let's go home, I have a lot of girlfriend neglect I'd like to make up for." At this, you laughed, glad to have your Percy back again. Putting your jacket on, you rubbed your back where it had been on the car. Those things had way too many hard parts.
"You have got to stop slamming me on that car of yours though, Perce, my back can't handle it," you mumbled as you zipped the jacket up. New York winters were no joke.
"Oh yeah?" He said, smirking. Your noses nearly touching, Percy's eyes glimpsed the necklace you were wearing - the one with his initials on it. "Don't you worry, I have better ideas for what we can do in that car of mine."
