There’s an alternative universe out there in which Zoro’s hair color is naturally Shimotsuki Blue (®) and he’s just done a really good job of maintaining a green dye job while out at sea. And maybe he dyes it for some symbolic reason, maybe he’s just being a rebellious teen, but barely anyone picks up on it cause he’s consistent with it and hair can grow crazy colors naturally in their world. Nami would know, maybe, cause she’d finance his hair products, and canonically the crew’s stylists are Robin and Usopp, so they’d know, too.

The one who wouldn’t know in this scenario, the one who should know the most, is Sanji. The thought that Zoro might be dying and redying his hair green in his free time never even crosses his mind, because who would be a mosshead willingly? And Luffy doesn’t realize his hair is dyed because he barely pays attention to people’s appearances anyway. So when Zoro shows up to Sabaody after spending two years in Doom and Gloom Island, away from any of his usual hair products, Sanji and Luffy look at him and ask, genuinely, “Who the hell are you?”

After hanging out with Sirius’ little brother for a few months now - sometimes the three of them but more and more just the two of them - James first realizes he’s in love with Regulus on a summer night with cheeks warm from sunburn and sweet red wine. They’re on an old leather couch at a party Sirius is throwing at the Potter’s beach house, and Regulus rests his head on James’ shoulder with a deep, heavy sigh. Absolutely plastered, he mutters in defeat, “I think I’m now ready to admit that I’ve probably missed my chance at becoming a mermaid.” James wants to laugh until his stomach cramps, wants to kiss him on his peeling lips and point out that Regulus turns 21 in just one week, what does he mean he’s willing to admit this now, but instead he shrugs lightly and rests his head on Regulus’. He says in that cocky voice of his that makes far too many people swoon, “You’d be the prettiest mermaid of them all” and Regulus would roll his eyes even though James couldn’t see, he’d bury his head further into James’ neck, and tell him “Yeah, James, obviously”.

And then a week would pass, the morning of Regulus’ 21st birthday, and he’d wake up before anyone else and sneak out of the house for his morning run. Sometimes on the really hot days, like the day of his 21st birthday, he’d cool off in the ocean before walking back to the house, the walk long enough to let the sun dry him a bit.

Except this time was different.

Regulus runs and jumps into the ocean, does a few slow strokes atop the rolling waves, then promptly begins to scream bloody murder in the blink of an eye; his legs have become so heavy it’s as if an overweight adult man is clinging to him. He twists and turns his body, lifts his cement legs up to see what the fuck is going on, freezes, starts drowning, then screams even as his mouth fills with saltwater.

Where his legs are supposed to be - where they used to be - there is now a beautiful emerald mermaid tail with scales that glitter tiny rainbows like the polish on his finger nails.

A mile away, the split second Regulus screams the first time, James wakes from a deep slumber with a gasp so sharp it throws him into a coughing fit. He drinks from the glass of water on his bedside table and grabs his phone before leaning back onto the fluffy pillows, pulling up his messages to text the birthday boy.

(7:02am) Happy birthday Reggie!!!! 21 WOOHOO!!!!!

(7:03am) Are u back from ur run?? Do u want blueberry or chocolate chip pancakes?

(7:04am) Had the craziest dream last night. Need to tell u all about it over some Potter Pancakes(;

Few days after the article was published, Trafalgar Law found himself cornered by Worst Generation in the middle of the sea.

"This you, Trafalgar?" Bonney directly pointed to the newspaper on her hands.

"Not me." Law straight away denied.

"Are you sure? That description eerily matched you." Apoo looked sceptical, not one bit believed Law.

"It's Empress-ya. Why are you guys here, crowding around my submarine?" Law asked in exasperation. He looked around and spotted Kid standing some distance away. But that red-haired captain seemed off. Looking like his soul had left his body.

Like a... Broken-hearted man?

Killer beside him patted his shoulder, offering him some sort of consolation.

"We came here as soon as we heard it. Thought maybe you need some relationship & courting advice." Urouge added cheerily.

"I don't need any. And definitely not from you." Law hissed.

"You two have been in alliance long enough. People won't oppose too much by now." As the only married member, Bege supported his generation friends venturing into next step in life.

"I said, it's not me."

"The cards are telling me..." Hawkins trailed off. His cards neatly placed in front of him. "The possibility of you as Mugiwara's Pirate Queen is 98.9%."

"I don't usually believe this creep and his cards, but today I do." Apoo pressed.

"Trafalgar, are you..." Drake looked like he wanted to say something, but the words died down. He hesitated, and after few seconds whispered. "...I wish you happiness."

"Not you too, Drake-ya!"

The Worst Generation - Meeting in the Middle of the Sea?

The news evoked social panic. "What were they meeting for?!" "Secret planning to overthrow the world?!"

Meanwhile, at two different locations in New World.

"Why I didn't get invited?!" Both Luffy and Teach yelled aboard their respective ships.

"You're Yonkou!" Their crew hollered back at them.

Teach felt offended for been left out. He was in this generation too; he wanted to be included in their activities!

Luffy looked pissed off. Everyone knew he was a party lover and always invited himself to big gatherings. Worst Generation convened; a big party must had happened. Right?

"What were they doing with my Torao?"

It was low growl. But his crew heard it.

"Luffy! What's with that jealousy glint in your eyes?!"

Presenting two more characters and their redesigns in my HTTYD/The Deep story! One is more involved in the story, but the other makes PLOT, and neither really ever interact or connect to one another plot wise to my immediate knowledge in the overall story.

Introducing Savage and Eret!

Savage is not an Outcast and Alvins right hand man, but a true Berserker warrior, serving Oswald and his family for years. But when Oswald the Antagonistic becomes Oswald the Agreeable, Savage starts to grow restless. The Berserkers aren’t at war with the Berkians and surrounding tribes anymore, Oswald trying to maintain a semblance of peace in the dragon-war ridden Archipelago. Savage is a follower, not a natural born leader, but years of peace treaty after peace treaty, and babysitting Oswalds whelps has made him seek out other like-minded Berserkers, planning an uprising against the passive Chieftain. Oswald seemed to have caught on to what Savage was doing, escaping their attempted assassination, and now Savage is trying to commandeer the Berserker Tribe as a whole through sewing doubt amongst the tribe against Oswalds children, and trying to pit the siblings against one another in hopes they’ll simply get rid of the other for him. Savage isn’t good at thinking things through though, especially what the aftermath of his plans to stage a coup or civil war amongst the tribe to try and take leadership might be.

Eret son of Eret is a budding Dragon Trapper, partaking in his father’s business of trapping dragons and bringing them to Auction Markets run by the Grimborn brothers. Dragon Trapping was introduced to Erets family through his paternal Grandfather, with loans being taken from the wrong people, with no money to pay them back leading his Grandfather to Dragon Trapping. With similar habits being passed on to his son, Eret Sr, Eret has been taken on as crew for his fathers quest to pay off the debts his grandfather failed to pay, and his fathers own drunken mistakes. Eret isn’t sure how to feel about it all, his father pushing the looming mantle of Captain on to Eret as his eventual future, leaving whatever debts his father fails to pay before retirement for Eret to try and absolve, with old bedtime stories from his deceased mother and her side of the family speaking of dragons being more than wild animals. Eret’s been grappling with his internal struggles for a few years now, and a sudden interaction with some Archipelagon teenagers apparently riding dragons only rattles his inner beliefs even more.

I decided to go a bit of a different route with Savage in this story, making him a member of the Berserker tribe instead of the Outcasts. There are a lot of elements of his prior design still in this one, but he’s got a lead part in a lot of the early Berserker central arks and plots, especially in Heathers early story, and why she makes some of the decisions she does in Riders and Defenders of Berk, which has a sort of butterfly effect on the way she is in RTTE. He’s not a MAIN villain like the Grimborn brothers, Alvin, Heather, Drago, and a certain someone from the games, more of a small villain and a reoccurring nuisance. He gets his comeuppance however, as he’s not good at thinking things through, especially in the long run, and eventually gets revealed for all his nefarious schemes, and promptly exiled

Eret is a little different to the swashbuckling Dragon Trapper that’s in HTTYD 2, but he’s also nearly five years younger, a little older than Dagur and around the age that the riders were in RTTE. So, eighteen-nineteen-nearly twenty. He’s not Captain of the ship yet, and dealing with a lot of inner family struggles and trying to come to terms with what his future may hold. Generational and pawned off debt is how I play off (Headcanon wise) how he came to be under Drago’s employment in the films, and I’m playing with the setting of the early stages of how that happened here. With his grandfather and father both taking loans they couldn’t keep or pay back, and turning to Dragon Trapping to try and pay them off. Afterall, dragon parts and living dragons sell for a LOT of money. The Dragon Riders throw a bit of a wrench in things though, and Eret ends up being one of their first allies beyond Dagur and someone else in the Archipelago. He’s also a little shorter and not nearly as beefy as he is five years from then, not having the experience to build up that kind of muscle yet. I did this partly because of his age, and partly because Nico Marlets early concept art for him (whose HTTYD art I love and want tattooed to my brain) had him being a little more scrawny, and so I thought that was a nice callback

my hair is so weird because parts of it are more curly and parts of it are more wavy and then i have this one fucking strand in front that has a mind of its own like it’s basically straight and grows like a bloody weed (can you tell i was a child of bangs) and then when i go on vacation to visit family because of the humidity it just gets curlier and like doubles in volume when my hair is already super thick?? like i’m getting a perm soonish to smooth everything out and because the lack of humidity makes it super flat looking like. all the time. it’s weird

Also I've been in this fandom for like 2.5 seconds approximately and I don't respect a single one of y'all BUT cmiiw the girlypop high femme lesbian mommy etcetc whatever PSH is a fairly new development isn't it. Like my first bias was Sanini but then I realized HJ is a diversely creative fairy prince who wears half-skirts, paints his nails and talks about fashion for men AND women and I was like O YES HI HELLO THIS ONE'S MINE HI. It's fascinating that apparently there's a whole genre of fans who see Joongie as the masculine dom to Hwa's willow-waisted femme omega bottom when like... They both have "masculine" and "feminine" traits. Above all that they're cool fun guys and I like them a lot (assigning gender to personality trait is finest grade dumbassery, not to mention gender essentialism. I don't recommend doing that)
