So when Nightwing is kidnapped and drugged via truth serum, and his kidnappers ask for his true identity, Dick responds with “I don’t know”.

Gray and Graysons

One of the Bats has a secret. Something they never told to the others.

They were so very young but they have memories of a sibling, so small and tiny. They remember the burst of warmth they had in their heart when they held the tiny baby for just a moment.

But they weren’t allowed to keep them, their family couldn’t raise them. Money was tight, just enough for three but not for four, despite their shows always bringing in a crowd it was getting harder and harder for the world to be wowed by them in the new age and their sibling was too small and tiny and needed to be cared in a single place than for them to be on the road. Their lifestyle was not good for his tiny sibling apparently.

They had to watch as their parents gave his sibling away to people in suits, them promising to give his baby brother to a loving family when they find a ‘home’ for him. He watched his parents try to be strong only for his mother to break down once the car left down the road, his father holding her and apologizing, the rest of the circus troupe all silently coming over to give the heartbroken family condolences.

Richard ‘Dick’ Grayson had tears running down his face when he last saw his baby brother.

A brother he got to name before he had to be given away.

Dick never told the others. If anyone dug deep into his past they might find his brother’s birth records maybe, if someone got around to digitizing the paperwork for him but given the fact he was placed in the US childcare systems just a few days after his birth and the fact that Dick was still pretty young they most likely believed he didn’t remember his baby brother now. Not after so many years.

But they were wrong, Dick remembers. And he kept the secret close to his heart and memories.

And the only physical evidence he had was a single picture of him holding his brother, a smile on his tiny face towards their father who had taken the photo of them together. When he had lost his parents, lost most of the things that connected him to them, to his past in the circus that had been his whole life, had been taken from him in Gotham’s ruthless childcare system, he held on tight to the picture in secret. Hid it away from anyone trying to rip it from him, hid it from Bruce when the man took him in days later, hid it from Alfred despite how gentle the butler was towards him. He couldn’t, wouldn’t risk losing his photo at the time, he hadn’t trusted anyone and by the time he did he didn’t have the heart to reveal it.

So yes, the existence of his baby brother Danny was his most guarded and best kept secret.

So that’s why Dick, as Nightwing, nearly died from a heart attack when leaving a Justice League meeting he spotted a familiar face among one of the new engineers working in the Watchtower.

It was like seeing a young version of himself. Only, Dick could see that the young man was more than a copy of him, so much more than a clone. He held many traces of John Grayson but also had a bit more of Mary Grayson than Dick did. Small details that Dick foggely remembers taking note when he had held his baby brother.

“Hey, hurry up with that report Gray!” Shouted the head engineer from down the hall, his hand beckoning the young adult to come over.

“Coming! And boss, I told you Danny is fine!” Danny shouted back before hurriedly leaving a stunned Nightwing.

DP x DC prompt: Finding Halfas Unexpectedly (And Incredibly Sick Ones While At It)

While travelling to Gotham for the annual meet up with Tim and the rest of YJ, Greta gets kidnapped by the GIW, since she registers as a ghost to them even though she insists she’s human (she doesn’t mention she was formerly a ghost). They don’t care and kidnap her, intending to do lots of painful experiments and torture with other ghosts they’ve captured. Meanwhile, Greta is scared, confused and reliving her trauma of being detained by the D.E.O, except this time her friends aren’t coming to save her and she doesn’t even have her powers to help.

Except rescue DOES come, in the shape of a glowing boy with snow-white hair and glowing green eyes and powers that look a little too similar to Greta’s own as he frees the other glowing people that are apparently ghosts. He does a double take at seeing her, shock on his face as he talks in a garbled language Greta can sort of understand.

Then the boy rips a hole into the fabric of reality and revealing something green and glowing and reminding her too much of death on the other side and as while the ghosts are fleeing through the portal, he grabs and drags Greta through it, screaming, before she blacks out.

At the same time, Jason’s been struggling with his Pit Rage recently, even though it doesn’t feel like rage and more like hunger, before he collapses in the middle of patrol. That’s when a glowing kid appears in front of him, shocked and horrified as she asks him what’s wrong with his core, whatever the hell that means. Jason doesn’t have the time to ask before a portal opens that looks disturbingly like the Lazarus Pits appears and the kid grabs him and drags him through it with surprising strength as the Pits scream in Jason and pain erupts across his entire body before he blacks out.

The next thing Greta and Jason know, they’re in an infirmary ward that isn’t in the Watchtower, Batcave or Titan’s Tower, there’s cuffs around Jason’s wrists that look to be made of ice, they both strangely feel better than they have in a long time, and there’s a freaking yeti with an ice arm standing at the other end of the room who informs Jason the cuffs were a precaution after he went a little berserk earlier, since Lazarus water and the puree ectoplasm of the Realms don’t mix that well, and now that they’re awake, the procedures can begin for reviving Greta’s core that has been dormant since Darkseid that would have ended up hurting her in the long run and was getting severely malnourished and removing the contaminated ectoplasm from Jason’s core that was slowly starving and killing him again, and once they’re done they can once more be healthy ghosts (he didn’t clarify ghost forms, as he thought they both knew about their halfa status)

Cue the inevitable freak-out from Jason and Greta and attempt at escape from the yeti that wants to murder them both again.

In the other room, Danny and Dani are reenacting the Spider-Man meme and sharing in their shock over how they both found halfas with messed-up cores while Danny was doing a rescue/raid at a GIW base and Dani was visiting Gotham at the same time… until they hear the chaos happening with Frostbite and now they have to explain what being a halfa actually is to those very halfas who have no freaking clue and think they’re being murdered again instead of receiving much-needed medical help.

Guess they really should have explained things before dragging them through portals, huh?

I’m still so mentally ill over the whole Luffy refusing to eat unless it’s Sanji’s food thing. Like. We KNOW how fucking feral over food Luffy is. He loves food and loves eating so much that he steals it off other people’s plates and out of their hands and is so impatient when it comes to meals that he’ll literally try and sneak into the kitchen to mooch before it’s ready. Or he’ll try to break into the refrigerator. I know Sanji mentioned putting a lock on it at some point bc Luffy literally wiped it clean. He will not hesitate to eat other people’s portions or literally an entire meal meant for a whole ship of people! He’s unbelievably selfish when it comes to food and that’s just SUCH a central part of his character that it’s become almost endearing. Even in Totto Land Luffy didn’t think for a second before devouring everything in sight, including an entire fucking HOUSE, regardless of the consequences or the people it might affect. Homie did not care!! He’s food driven first and foremost!!!

Until Sanji leaves him. Until he decides that eating—something that he loves and brings him comfort—isn’t WORTH it unless it’s Sanji’s food he’s eating. It’s been shown that Luffy has zero self restraint when it comes to food so the fact that he was SURROUNDED by food on all sides on a food themed island and utterly refused to partake in any of that? Even though he hates being hungry and will always make eating a priority over pretty much anything else?? The amount of willpower it must have taken for him to sit there and purposefully let himself starve, for SANJI. Even when food was offered to him conveniently (in the form of syrup rain) he stubbornly rejected that. Because it wasn’t Sanji’s food. Because it wasn’t Sanji who made it, who always puts so much thought and care into the food he makes, who always indulges Luffy and prepares extra because he knows how much Luffy eats and how much he loves to eat. Luffy literally took one of the most defining traits he has and tossed it out the window. For Sanji. I’m going to fucking blow up

I think we moved on too quickly from Bruce Trying To Work From Home During Lockdown because it’s always funny and I was not in this fandom at the time.

My favorite version of this is Tim and Bruce being an a WE teams meeting. The oddest thing happening on Tim’s screen is some truly questionable art work by Bart on the wall behind him.

Whereas, Bruce has the general Wayne Manor disaster happening all around him. There’s yelling and fighting. Dick did a flip out the window. There’s a cow. The usual.

Bruce is also a disaster in the way you expect Brucie Wayne to be, until Alfred the Cat runs across his keyboard and he genuinely can’t figure out how to fix what happened. Bruce’s screen is upside down. There’s a filter now. He doesn’t know how to change it.

Everybody is just watching him flounder until a hand comes into the screen and nudges Bruce out of the way, and suddenly Tim is fixing the problem.

Which is weird because Tim is still in his screen.

I’m rewatching Steven Universe and one thing that’s FASCINATING to me that I never noticed is that for the first like 10 episodes of the show, it kinda tricks you into thinking that Steven and Lars are gonna have like a SpongeBob-Squidward dynamic where ostensibly Steven thinks that they’re best friends but doesn’t realize that Lars doesn’t like him and is kinda a douche but then in Lars in the Cool Kids Steven hits Lars with the ‘how DARE you talk about my mother, who is GONE and I didn’t even KNOW HER. She cared about EVERYTHING, even ASSHOLES like you, and THIS MOSS THAT ATE OUR FRIENDS AND IS TRYING TO EAT US’ and then in Joking Victim Sadie is like ‘but….he’s kinda nice sometimes………I can’t fire him 🥺🥺🥺’ and Steven is like ‘girl, get up, this guy SUCKS, let’s poison his food with ghost pepper extract’
