I am in the middle of updating the resource document on the hide stash drive with several fan websites, both for X and other visual kei bands. I am also in the process of adding what little remnants I could find from each of these websites and adding them to the "old web" folder of the drive itself. Hopefully someone out there enjoys the rabbit hole!

omfg last night i discovered a site that had trigun with all of the original unique op animations that are missing from my funi dvd release (as well as the original english release). the videos can be downloaded so i can finally get my hands on all of them i still can’t believe the unique op versions were readily available all this time on newer funi releases and the old geneon remix release but all this time i was watching exclusively on my dvds and the old youtube uploads of the original english release…i remember reading the trivia about the unique episode ops on a fansite years ago and like i figured they were still exclusive to original japanese release. funi mcfreaking restored them to the releases after the set i bought and i was none the wiser ??? like i was talking last night in the discord that older viewers who only watched trigun on adult swim back in the day or owned older home video releases that they still watch had such a different experience watching the series (which includes me apparently) without seeing the unique ops ??? how many of the newer fans think i’m absolutely crazy for thinking the unique ops were hard to find bc i couldn’t find anything on youtube except the one for episode 5???? they’ve been right under my nose all this time but i had no idea i am a fool
Tumblr media
anyways i’ll see if i can cut the ops from the downloaded episodes and compile them so they will be easier to find since if you go looking for the trigun op on you tube you are most likely gonna see the one for episode 1 but there are 25 OTHER VARIATIONS !??!! can’t believe it’s not documented better omfggf

Kat’s Bjelland’s 12 Favorite Songs interview - text sourced from here, a now defunct fansite created by “hersir.” Date and publication source unknown
The Replacements - Unsatisfied "It was played 20 times a day. It was always on our turntable. What does it make me think of? Paris. Perfume. An empty Fillmore Street Victorian flat. San Francisco Haight Street. Being very poor. No cigarettes. Cockroaches. Being in a band with Courtney called Sugarbunny Farm. Jennifer throwing her bass at Courtney. Why? It had something to do with migrating to Minneapolis. That's why they wear flannel. It's cold in Minneapolis."
Hair - The Soundtrack "I went to this play with my parents in about fourth or fifth grade. I was the only kid there. I got to see the whole cast naked in the finale. When my parents went out, I'd open the drapes so I could see my bell-bottomed, head-banded reflection, dancing. They sang songs about fellatio, sodomy, cunnilingus, pederasty, drugs; that song "Frank Mills"! I loved it. All that I wanted then was to be a hippy like my mom."
K-Tel - Haunted House Sounds "This was my very first LP. My father obviously didn't realise how cat's screeching, ladies screaming in terror, aliens landing and psychotic laughter could infect/affect and scare little minds. At the time I was really into staring myself down in the mirror until I left my body, then I'd just jerk back and forth to this record or turn into some scary-faced creature. I was grounded a lot but I flew around inside my head."
Rush - 2112 "I was very metal then. Judas Priest, Scorpions, Maiden, Girlschool, Ozzy. Shut up - at least I'm honest! "Cygnus X-1" on "Farewell to the Kings" fairly ruled. Also, no girls I knew really liked Rush, only boys, they sang about weird lands and mystical places."
Miracle Workers - Inside Out "Sixties garage kings, loving it, looking it, the whole part. I dyed my hair black. Matt Rogers from the band helped me pick out my Rickenbacker, inspired me a lot and turned me on to so many bands like the Cramps, plus "Pebbles" compilations, old Fender equipment, tube amps, old pedals....the whole deal. Plus they were the coolest live band ever, except for...."
The Wipers - Alien Boy - Positive Negative "Portland, Oregon, where I was living, was pretty great for bands in the early Eighties. Sage is the perfect last name for The Wiper's Greg. G S = Genius Sage. He taught me about feedback and had a real honest singing style and stage persona. They were my favourite band, and the music reeks of Portland back then. His solo stuff is a definite depression inducer. Perfect."
The Cars - Candy 0 "That song drove me all over Woodburn, Oregon. I was 15 years old. The Dragstrip! Muscles. Cars. Sneaking out at nights. Skipping school. Sex. Keggers, bongs and puke. No, I wouldn't care to explain that."
Kiss - Destroyer "I had the biggest Kiss poster you could get. Me and Alfredo Garcia would open the windows before recess so we could sneak back in and air-guitar to Kiss. I had to be Gene Simmons, God of Thunder: all that is evil is good. The God of Thunder himself said to Maureen that she had a "nice bottom". As in bass. A Rock Pig Joke."
Pixies - Surfer Rosa "Pop sensibility without compromise. Nice spaces and dynamics. Sorta scientific. Great production, great songs. Kim Deal's voice! I love The Breeders. "Pod" is great - beautiful songwriting! I wrote our track "Vomit Heart", after listening to that record.
The Rolling Stones - Exile On Main Street "Acid. I was having my heart ripped out by a guy whose last name was actually Letcher, which inspired most if not all of "Spanking Machine". Depression and wallowing around in it for too long. Stitches. Bandages."
Sonic Youth - Sister "Courtney owed me some money, the exact cost of this record, so she bought it for me. I'd only heard the "Kill Yr Idols" '45, with Kim screaming. I felt reassured after that and realised I actually was writing "songs". I hadn't grasped the concept of "No Rules" right away."
Staple Sisters - Uncloudy Day "It reminds me of living in London. Being in love in a different country. Eating too many eggs. "Old Matey". Manor House. James (Johnston, Gallon Drunk singer and ex-beau) bought me this record. It's so beautiful it makes me cry. I listened to it when I found out that my mom had died. That line "Tell Heaven I'm Coming Home" hurts my heart."

what happened with ljy, why do you dislike him so much just curious?
Oh ljy. A lot of stuff:
- Whenever any of his artists had some baseless rumors in the media and the public slandering them, (before 2019) he didn’t do jackshit to defend them. Talking mainly about Tablo of Epik High, Jisoo of Lovelyz and Woohyun (his was not even that long ago). You can search their ‘scandals’ and rumors if you’re curious. Highly recommend reading about Tablo though if you haven’t, especially the article The Persecution of Daniel Lee (google it, it’s by stanford)
- Didn’t give anyone attention besides Sunggyu Myungsoo for most of infinite’s career
- Ignored the MAIN vocal of his best selling group for that long. Ignored every member of Infinite (individual schedules) when they could have gotten even more popular at their peak (same goes for Lovelyz, they’re in their what..seventh year already and not one of them has reached the level of popularity that they deserve because of ljy’s neglect....that is wasted TALENT. besides Mijoo being a meme and she did that all on her own)
- He makes 99% of the decisions because he’s on that dictator level - there was a recent article (koreaboo so would take with a grain of salt but it’s too believable) compiling past woollim employees’ comments about the company and they said this. the dictator thing, they also said that the staff is constantly criticizing artists’ appearance which I believe hundred percent is learned from ljy (re. today’s comments on woohyun) plus the fact that the company is very old-fashioned/conservative and doesn’t like to take risks or think out of the box, and there’s no real growth. Imagine if they did. They could’ve been at the level of bighit by now (Again take this one with a grain of salt except that ljy does make 99% of the decisions by himself)
so yes we blame him for all the long hiatuses between comebacks for ALL his groups. and we blame him for anything that goes wrong in woollim pretty much
- Didn’t let Myungsoo smile during his first few years in Infinite - Sunggyu said this himself a couple weeks ago and that it was sad that such a happy boy had to follow that rule. plus other disrespectful things e.g. I heard he would also get mad and rip off Myungsoo’s plaid shirts that he liked wearing
- Didn’t let Hoya compose songs for Infinite and when Hoya finally composed One Day, he didn’t want Rphabet/Razer to tell Jungyeop so that it would be approved. And ofc did not let Hoya have a solo album. Arguably the most talented idol in his company - he can rap he can sing he can dance he can act is there anything Hoya can’t do well?
- He said Woollim’s marketing team was just him until like last year. I have no words
- A Sungjong fansite master once asked ljy to please give Sungjong more schedules and he replied ‘what is Sungjong even good at?’ The anger I have towards him just for this statement >>>>>>>>
- He told Sungjong to go back to practicing like a trainee...in I think Infinite’s eight year? Or ninth? (That time he was on weekly idol with dongwoo and sungyeol)
- also multiple times has told Sungjong to lose weight and I know this happens in every agency but Sungjong would go to extreme measures to reach the ‘ideal’ weight e.g. during the eye promotions he literally starved himself. Plus he forced that ‘manly’ image on Sungjong for a couple promotions even though Sungjong was clearly uncomfortable with it
- Called Woohyun ugly on a live broadcast?!!?? Just today???? Like idc if he was drunk or those jokes are their usual or whatever it’s just downright disrespectful
- On the same vlive, said out loud ‘Sunggyu doesn’t want to talk to inspirits’ like bithchhh? Who are you to say something like that when Sunggyu does 3 hour vlives and actually tries to turn on insta live to communicate with us and is always apologizing for not being able to meet inspirits and release music?
I bet you ljy is 95% the reason Hoya, Myungsoo, Epik High, Minseok, Nell, Tasty left the company. And who knows what’s going on with Joo, did she leave or is she stuck in the wlm dungeon? I could go on but you get the idea.
He is so stupid and trashy oh my godddd I can’t and the fact that he’s scared of inspirits is something that gives me joy ⚔
Stans that call him appa and papi and oppa and want to marry him...please stop it’s embarrassing. Stop defending him. Please open your eyes.

Survey #206
“have you ever wished for death and prayed all night for your last breath?”
Do you always read the book before you see a movie based on a book? No. When you’re out with friends, do they ever encourage you to spend money you should be saving? 1.) I don't hang out w/ anyone now, 2.) but even when I did, they all knew I didn't make money. Is there anything you’re trying to save up money for? What? Perpetually tattoos, I want a PS4 super badly to play a novel of games I've been dying to play (SotC and Spyro trilogy remaster, I'm @ing you so hard), I need a car soon as I plan to at least try and get my license in the near future, I'd love to always have enough to immediately go to Sara's in case of an emergency, a trip to South Africa... but those are gonna take a good while to complete. I have my priorities straight for when I get a job. Have you ever watched a movie you didn’t really want to see just because a friend asked you to? Yeah. Did you end up liking the movie, anyway? There's been many cases of the above situation, so I'm sure in some instances I have. Heard any great songs for the first time lately? What songs? Hmmm, quite a number. "Radio" by Rammstein is great, and I love "bury a friend" and "bad guy" by Billie Eilish. What is your favorite urban legend? m o t h m a n and the joysey devil. Probably top two. GAH I love so many though????????????? Like Skinwalkers?????????????? And WENDIGOS????????? Have you seen all the cool shit?????????????? Do you remember the last nightmare you had? What was it? No, thankfully. Have you ever hopped on any bandwagons? HAHA. Freshman year, high school... I "liked" screamo or alternative-type bands I'd barely ever listened to or even enjoyed to fit in with the emos aldkjfalkwejr. Are you an elitist (even a little bit) when it comes to anything? What? Definitely not a complete one, but I can get pretty annoyed if in WoW we're in a heroic dungeon and people don't know the mechanics you should have already learned + read new ones that're right there in the goddamn journal laksdjfaoweir and then some people just totally ignore your advice and alskdjfwleiruwqoeif x2. Then again I've been that confused asshole in a couple raiding situations BUT LOOK they're harder and I had too much to catch up on okay. Still no excuse by WHATEVER. Have elitists on a fansite ever intimidated or talked down to you? I don't believe so. Is there anything you swear you will never do again? A few things with certainty. How late do you usually stay awake? I can literally go to bed as early as 7 to as late as 11 or rarely later. I do NOT have a schedule. Started months ago, and at first it frustrated and stressed me out quite a bit, but by now, I've just accepted it for me. Do you have pets? If so, how did you choose their names? Teddy: sister named him, but I'm sure it was the "cute as a teddy bear" type thing; Bentley: no clue; Roman: it sounded majestic, cats are majestic; Venus: pretty, and her coloration is similar to the planet; Kaiju: totally badass for an iguana that's gonna grow to be a big 'ole scaly boy; and Mitsu: I had a theme of giving my rats cutesy "M" names. Do you ever buy special treats for your pets? Occasionally. Is just being fond of something enough, or does it take more than that to be a ‘real fan’? Did a middle school student write this? If you're pretty fond of something, there you go, you're a fan. Sure, some are more intense, but that doesn't make the more casual ones not "real." What type of fabric is most comfortable for clothing? Idk, I don't pay attention. If you wear one – bras with or without a wire? Christ, without. If you wear one – are you able to find cute bras in your size? HA. No. It is RARE I'll find a cute one, and that's always only online. Make pretty ones for plus-sized women a normal find, jfc. Idk why, but I am very picky with bras. Like good fucking luck seeing me without a shirt, so like,,,, why do I bother????? What length do you like your shorts to be? UM you will NOT see me in SHORTS. Have you ever cut off jeans or other pants and made them into shorts? Perhaps Mom has when I was a kid? But I have no memory of this ever happening. Have you cut the sleeves out of T-shirts to make tank tops? I don't think so. Have you ever modified a piece of clothing and hated how it turned out? ^ What was the last disappointing movie you saw? Ah jeez, what's the last time I even watched one. Idk. What was the last disappointing book you read? And I haven't read a book in even longer. Is there anything you’re really excited about? JOB. OPPORTUNITIES. Do you ever watch compilation videos? Of what? Vines, like shit dude. I can go on massive binges. What was the last thing you rolled your eyes about? I don't recall. What would you consider the greatest song ever recorded? Why? Yeesh, that's a big thing to decide. I recently discovered "A Reason to Fight" by Disturbed though, and it is. Incredible. Just read the lyrics to refresh my mind, and yeah, goosebumps. Do you like Hellboy? If so, do you prefer the old movies or the new one? Never seen any. Favorite Disney character who isn’t royalty? Dory, probably. But man, there's too many to choose from. Last thing you purchased just for fun? *shrugs* Do you even like behind-the-scenes stuff or does it ruin the magic for you? IF I'm real into the product, I love that stuff!! I've seen like every little BTS Silent Hill thing there is, probably, multiple hours' worth. What is your favorite thing about Mac computers? They're small and lightweight. What is your favorite thing about PCs? They generally hold much more memory. What are some errands you need to run soon? I don't have "errands" yet. Have your parents ever tried to convince people there was something wrong with you, when their “diagnosis” wasn’t accurate? No. List 3 of your best memories, times you wish you could go back and repeat. In no order, just as they come to me: 1.) First hug with Sara when we met at the airport; 2.) THE LOOK ON SARA'S FACE when she saw me in her room on her birthday (probably fave memory of all time, actually); 3.) seeing meerkats for the first time at the zoo. Ohhhh or maybe the true realization I was happy without Jason. But idk, that was SUCH a gradual process where I didn't feel ecstasy in like one moment. What color was your high school graduation gown? Ew, it was this obnoxious red. The majority apparently voted for it, while I was on the navy team. Are your parents’ dreams for your life different than your own? Mom's pretty dead-set on me being a vet, but she doesn't try to push me into it or anything. I know she just wants happiness for me. I haven't got a clue about Dad. Have your dreams for your life changed? Of course. What are your dreams now? HAPPY, stable job that I thoroughly enjoy, well-off financially (I don't aim to be rich, just "safe," you could say), healthy marriage, own my own home, travel to a few places, did y'all think I was gonna forget "meet Mark???"... stuff like that. What was your dream as a child? It changed plenty of times, but my earliest goal was to be a paleontologist. Do you feel safe in your country? Sure, I guess. Safer than most places. If applicable, do you feel safe at your school? N/A Would you ever want to learn sign language? It'd be cool, sure, but it's not something I'm interested in pursuing. How many meals do you eat a day? 2-3. Sometimes just one "real" meal. Do you own any succulents? No. What color are your walls? A hideous puke green. Why. What color were the walls in the bedroom you grew up in? I don't remember at all. What was the last song you listened to on repeat? "Love Falls" by HELLYEAH. What is your favorite style (or styles) of dance? Modern. Have you ever performed a solo dance in front of a crowd? No. Have you ever sung a solo? No. Which insects are you afraid of? Most, really. Do you think it’s silly to be afraid of an insect, when it’s so tiny? It depends on the insect, of course. Even if I do know what it is and it's "safe," I'll still typically freak if it surprises me. When was the last time you had a deep conversation with someone? Hmmm. Sara, I believe? What are you waiting for? Jesus FUCKING Christ on a bike a job. What do you usually feel like doing the most at home? Stuff on the laptop. What grade were you in when you had your first crush? I don't remember... For "puppy dog love," I believe maybe the 4th grade, but I may be wrong. I'd say my first *real* crush was on a guy named Sebastian in my freshman year of high school. Shit man, did a lot go down my freshman year. I'm just reminiscing and crushes jumped between like five dudes 'til Jason won. At what age did you start experiencing sexual attraction, if any? Some time in middle school, I think? Like that's when I had my first bisexuality crisis: 6th or 7th grade. Have you ever split open a rock with a hammer, to see the glitter inside? No, but FUCK I WANNA. What type of tree do you see the most of where you live? There's a pine tree outside my window. Oh, and there's a pine tree in my back yard. Oh, what's that across the road? Woods of pine trees. Where do all birds in NC live? In pine trees. What does our air smell like? Pine trees. Where is your favorite place you’ve lived? My previous home as far as location; house itself, where I am now. It's got its issues, but it's cozy and a perfect size for just two people. What states have you lived in? Just 'ole North Carolina. Take me awaaaaaaaaaaaay- Do you wish you were someone else? Sometimes. What is your favorite thing about the month in which it is now? Literally just flowers. That's it. It. Everything else can suck a legion of dicks. Who were your best friends in high school? Hannia, Girt, Jason (if he counts), Alon, Maria... I had a few "best" ones. ^Are they still your best friends now? Girt is my closest thing to a "best friend" if you don't include my girlfriend. Do you live near the mountains? No, they're on the opposite end of the state. ;___; Do you live near a beach? We're like, two-ish hours away. What is your favorite beach that you’ve been to? Idk and idc, beaches aren't my thing. Do you collect seashells? Not seriously, but I'll keep a cool one if I find one. If you were to start a new collection, what would it be? If I was not ashamed of looking like a 23-y/o pre-teen in love with Just Bieber, I'd have more Markiplier merch than you'd fucking believe. (One of my biggest regrets in life was not buying the tasteful nudes calendar; I will eternally smite myself for being too embarrassed to have to explain why I would have that hanging above my bed rip.) If you had to pick one year and describe it as the best year of your life that you want to relive again, which year would it be? 2017 was fuckin litty titty. Is your world view the same as your parents’? In some ways with Mom, and I do know Dad and I differ on a few things. Well, if I learned more about his more political beliefs, I feel I'd probably disagree with most. What color are your glasses, if applicable? Black. Are you the person you thought you’d be when you were younger? No. Are you a confrontational person, or the peacekeeper? I'm a massive peacekeeper. I avoid confrontation like the PLAGUE. Do you like to read? Not nearly as much as I used to. Like all I ever read nowadays are RP posts as I obviously have to reply to them, but if they're long, it is common I procrastinate on reading it... ;_; Do you sleep too much or not enough? Probably too much, especially when I go to bed early. Although, I do wake up throughout the night and sometimes officially pretty early. Then some days I have a 1-2 hour nap, so that just adds to it. Who is your best friend? Sara. <3 How did you two meet? YouTube. How did you meet your current bf/gf? ^ How far away is your closest family member? Well I live with my mom, but she's at work atm. The last time you did something with BOTH of your parents was? BOY OH FUCKING BOY. My mom's the most bitter witch towards him, so even for family events, Dad usually only stops by to avoid creating a goddamn wreck, such as at birthday dinners. I think the last time they were in the same house was for my nephew's birthday half a year ago, I believe. What’s your favorite holiday? Halloween!!! Now that I have a niece and nephew who grasp the concept of Santa, Christmas is also really special to me. I don't want kids, but watching those sweethearts get so excited over their presents is magical. For me personally, the holiday has grown more and more about celebrating family, especially as we continue to branch out/go our own ways. So I guess I like the idea of Halloween better and would enjoy it more if I actually had something to do, but as far as joy goes, Christmas. Do you like pumpkin pie? I hate anything and everything pumpkin-flavored. The last time you went to the doctor, what were you there for? It was the see my psychiatrist. Do you take any medication regularly? Yeah. Is there any particular view you have on insane people? I see "insane" versus "sane" as far more of a gradient shift instead of a direct split; there're levels. I actually do legitimately think I at some juncture in the aftermath of the breakup qualified as slightly insane, yet I wasn't dangerous or entirely out of touch with reality. So if you tell me someone's actually insane, I'm going to fear them being the explosive, entirely unpredictable and loopy kind, but I know the person may be calm and somewhat stable on the outside, too. You gotta consider the severity. Do you believe in any conspiracies? 9/11 was orchestrated by the government and you cannot change my mind. I'm not totally sold on this one and lean more towards "nah" (I think), but the "we live in a simulation by a future civilization" is not that far-fetched at all if you actually look into it. It's very interesting, whether or not you're sold on it. Hell, Neil deGrasse Tyson firmly believes in it. Out of your friends, who is the funniest? Girt makes me laugh at the snap of his fingers, it seems. Anything you need to get rid of? I'm sure somewhere... Do you have any wasted talents? Animal knowledge and compassion, probably... I know I could make a fantastic rehabilitator for animals, among a plethora of other animal-related preservation and protection actions I could actively engage in. Well, I'm going back to school for zoology, but even now, I want to do more. There is a wildlife rehab place I may be able to volunteer at soon, tho! Mom's talking to a guy at work about me helping there. DAMN, livin a dream. Do you let the little things get to you? The issue could be as small as a single cell and it could still bother me. How often do you cry? Maybe once in a week, possibly longer. I don't know if you mean like really cry or just tear up/lightly cry. The latter is pretty common, but the other, not so much. Even if I want to cry, my jaw just entirely locks the hell up and I physically can't get it out. Is there anything you’re trying to prevent? I mean besides the common sense things everyone takes action to avoid, hm. I feel like there's so much, yet nothing is coming to me? Well, actually, it's usually a daily struggle to prevent at least one OCD cycle. When was the last time you were told you were cute? *shrug* When was the last time you were truly, completely happy with your life? It's been quite a while... At least over a year ago, when I began to get antsy with wanting a job and later going back to school. It just all started when I realized I was healed from the breakup and ready to move forward in life, but I wasn't. Do you miss the way things used to be between you and someone else? Multiple people. What colors has your hair been? Dirty blonde, brown, red, and purple. I've had red and purple highlights, and I naturally have blondish ones, too. I'm ready to dye it again, jfc. Most attempts are failures because my hair does NOT take color well whatsoever. It's only ever worked perfectly with the brand Splat, and my hair soaked in the dye for a LONG time before washing it out. Have you ever gotten burnt by a cigarette? No. Do you and your parents like any of the same bands/singers? We share interest in plenty of the same bands, Mom especially. Is there any food in your bedroom? What? No. Do you know anyone who has road rage? Who? MY LITTLE SISTER. Haven't seen the woman in three years, but I can promise you Jason's mom still has it to a legendary degree. How expensive is too expensive for a pair of shoes? I haven't looked for shoes in so long that I don't even know the average price. What kinds of cereal are in the cupboard? Honey Nut Cheerios, normal Cheerios I think, and we have a little bit of the chocolate chunk Special K cereal left over. It's got to be stale by now (it's not even closed fully); I need to remember to toss it. What’s the last thing you spent over $10 on? Ummm I'm not sure. Over $30? I think my tongue piercing was $40? Maybe even lower? Or slightly higher?? I don't remember. Do you know who lives three houses down from you? I think so. The one time I was locked out of my house in the snow with Teddy and I waited like a fucking hour until I broke down, absolutely freezing (I was in my pajamas, dude), and walked down the road to try and get help (I needed to call my mom, obviously, and I didn't have my phone), I believe it was the third neighbor who answered. Turned out being a retired deputy who was super intimidating yet kind at the same time; he let Teddy and me stay in his house (mind you, Teddy is incontinent and didn't have his diaper on, which I warned him about) while Mom was on her way home. He gave me a jacket and some water, even when I said I was fine, but you could tell he wasn't totally sure about trusting this random, sobbing girl at his door because he asked me a thousand questions about my story and quizzed if I really did live in this area. Obviously a good cop, but after a day like that, I was just terrified of an old man who appeared a bit gruff. But thankfully Mom got there to save the day and I am forever grateful for that guy. WOW what a story for a simple question. Is there a bulletin board in your room? No. Is your mom a big health freak or your dad? Or neither? "Health freak" seems a bit extreme for both of them, but Mom is more concerned about health in general. Do you know anyone who wants to be the president one day? No. What kinds of chips are in the cupboards? We just have tortilla chips, I think. I try to keep snacks out of the house to avoid temptation, and who eats plain tortilla chips. Do you have your mom's or dad's hair? Mom's. What’s the first thing you see when you walk into your bedroom? Most would probably notice my Nightmare Before Christmas poster first, being as big as it is and on the wall opposite the entrance. Do you prefer the truth, even if it’s harsh? YES. I NEED to know this kinda stuff, even if the truth is really hard to hear. Do you have any friends who have naturally red hair? I don't think so. Have you ever cried when a teacher retired? I think I did when my very first band teacher did. EVERYONE loved him. Like, the entire school. Does your kitchen look like it was designed in a completely different decade? No? When’s the last time you wore heels? Great question. Probably not since my sister's wedding in '16. Do you have your mom’s or dad’s eyes? My grampa's on Mom's side. What’s the best date movie? Probably a rom com? Have your parents ever been out of the country? No. How many pairs of jeans, all together, are in your house? Zero. Do you swear and yell while playing video games? I'll swear under my breath or seethe in frustration, but I never yell. Is there any alcohol in the fridge? No. Has a best friend ever ditched you for a girlfriend/boyfriend? Pretty much. Whenever she starts dating a guy, she dips, and whenever/if ever we talk, she rambles absolutely endlessly about him. Do you know anyone who has grossly skinny eyebrows? I couldn't possibly care less about how your eyebrows look. Do your pets chase after bugs? Roman and Bentley sure do. Bentley is a Professional Fly Moncher, specifically. When’s the last time you were so excited you couldn’t sleep? Why? Uhhh good question. Probs the night before Sara got here for my b-day. What is your mom’s favorite movie? Hm, good question! I'd ask her, but I don't want her to ask me why I am lmao. What TV family reminds you of your own family? Probably none. Did you ever really believe that the stork brought babies? No. I don't remember what I thought, but I know it wasn't that. Do you have any relatives who really spoil you? No, I think? Well Dad gives my sisters and me way too much money for Christmas and always tells us to ask him if we need anything, but I pretty much never ask him for said things, so I don't know the extent he'd go. Are there any drawers in your house that are just filled with junk? Pretty much. Is the last person you spoke to in love? That's my mom, so I doubt that with all I know. Do you know anyone who has security cameras in their house? I don't believe so. What was the last movie to make you cry? I think the last was Coco. Moana may have made me tear up, but I can't remember... Has anyone you know ever pulled the fire alarm in school, joking around? Not to my memory. What time do you usually go to sleep at sleepovers, if ever? I haven't been to a sleepover in God knows how long. Who was the main character in the last book you read? Alice Liddell. Who are the last people you saw kiss? Via YouTube, Jeffree and his boyfriend. Irl, I don't know. Have you ever posted a fan fiction on a website? No. Do you ever fantasize about your future wedding? Who’s the bride/groom? Not very much. Like I've had brief daydreams about it, sure, but it's not something that's on my mind a lot. Still got a long time before that happens. What was the last unpleasant thing to wake you up? My cat not knowing how to keep his mouth shut. Would you rather look at clouds or stars? Stars. Well, it depends; stars if we're in a completely isolated area where you can see them crystal clear or the clouds are boring, but otherwise, clouds if their design and colors are cool. Do you have any relatives who are expecting a baby really soon? No. Do you ever wonder what the opposite sex do at sleepovers? No. When you get married, who will be the maid of honor/best man? My mom, no questions asked. When’s the last time you broke plans? Why? I wasn't feeling well. I was supposed to see my VR coach that day. Have you ever been in a wedding? What were you? Yes, my sister's. I was a bridesmaid. It was an absolutely awful experience because I was hot as fuck, it was triggering as HELL with me still grieving Jason, and I felt positively hideous in a dress when I was at such a horrible weight. I wish so dearly I could redo that day; I fell like I put a serious damper on my sister's big day. Would you feel safer with an alarm system or security cameras? Hm, depends on the scenario... I guess an alarm system? Like security cameras will show a murderer climbing through my window, but they're not gonna wake me up to save my ass. Does it matter to you what kind of shampoo you use? So long it smells nice, isn't watery, and doesn't only add oil to my hair, I don't care much. Has a stray dog ever tried to bite you? No. When riding a bus, do you prefer to sit in front, in the back, or in the middle? Hm... idk. When I took the bus home with Jason, we always sat in the back, and that's really the only time I took a bus regularly. I think otherwise, I'd prefer the middle, closer to the front? I think I usually did that on occasions like band competitions and such. Have you ever been on a cross-country train ride? No. Are you normally a person to tell people off? No, that's rare. Is there any TV show that ended that you wish hadn’t? Meerkat Manor. Though I would hope they'd lessen down on the false story-telling. Stick to the true KMP events. When you feel stressed, do you take things out on the wrong people? Sometimes. Do you even wear any jeans other than skinny anymore? I don't wear jeans period. What did you talk about at lunch today with your friends? N/A Are you sensitive to caffeine? Definitely not. My system's too used to it, probably. How do you usually get around? Mom drives me. I'm 23. :^) Which languages do you wish you could speak fluently in? German. Have you ever been accused of being too clingy? SURPRISINGLY no, at least to my memory. Do you like Vitamin Water? Never tried, don't want to. What was the last thing you took a picture of? Dad and me on his birthday. Do you know anyone that uses Sprint as their phone carrier? Idk. Well, I think. When you go to McDonalds, what drink do you usually get? Coke. Do you have a Kindle or iPad or neither? Neither. Would you rather read or write? Write. When was the last time someone took a picture of you? Sometime during Bobby's visit literally days ago. I already forgot who took it... and who else was in it lmao. Do you own a pair of slippers? Yeah, two. A meerkat pair and then a far less extra pair that're closer to socks. I think they have cats on them? I got them for Christmas I think and haven't worn or seen them much. Would you rather see Taylor Swift or Carrie Underwood in concert? Not a fan of either, but Carrie Underwood is more tolerable and even has a couple songs I enjoy. Name something negative that you hate about yourself: I'll jump to a conclusion within .02 seconds of something negative happening. Or not even "negative" or something that's purely in my head. Is your house currently hot, cold or just right? The house itself is fine, and my room is just right because I have my fan on. Is there a Dead End road near where you live? I can't think of one off the top of my head, but it's likely, really. There's lots of those here. Growing up, did you see your cousins often? No. We live many states away on both parents' sides. Where was your first job at? GameStop. Who are you tired of seeing in the news a lot? (Celebrities) It's been like two days and I'm over seeing the James Charles/Tati drama everywhere. You can't be interested in the YouTube community without being drowned in that shit right now somehow someway on any YT-coverage page and YouTube itself. Have you ever had to call and complain about a product you bought? I personally haven't. Would you date someone who’s shorter than you? I very openly and severely judge you if fucking height means that much to you. Do you mind being the third wheel? Not really, no. I'd only feel uncomfortable if they were getting pretty intimate. Has a kiss ever made you weak in the knees? Um I didn't know that was actually a thing so no. Do you feel comfortable buying condoms? Never been in that position. Have you ever dated two people at once? No. Have you ever been tested for STDs? No. Well wait, that time I gave blood I probably was just out of safety protocol. Have you ever run into your ex with his/her new sweetie? No. Have you ever felt guilty after doing something sexual? When I was in that "wait does this break the abstinence rule" phase, yeah. God was I technical. Have you ever had a condom break during sex? N/A Do your parents know if you’re having sex? Well considering I'm with a girl and she lives states away, that answer's obvious. Do you eat chips or crackers more? Chips. Would you rather be a singer or a dancer? A dancer. Would you rather be a musician or a painter? A painter, maybe? If I could play the electric guitar, though... idk. What social media sites do you visit the most? Facebook. What did you hair look like in high school? Long, thick as fuck, brown (or dyed black) with some sort of highlight, and it was split to the left with the hair swooped over my right eye. Basically "I want the emo swoop but my hair is too fucking thick to obey hairspray." :^) Which dollar store do you shop at? Depends on what's closest, usually. We rarely ever stop at one unless it's for candy to bring into the movie theater, seriously lol. I think usually Dollar General? Do you prefer candy corn or conversation hearts? WE DON'T KNOW EITHER. Skeletons or scarecrows? s k e l l y b o y s Has anyone ever given you the silent treatment? Yep. What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever had in your mouth? I learned on that day I hate giving blowjobs. Has anyone ever threatened you with a knife? No, thankfully. (If you’re a girl) Has anyone ever called you ‘shortie’ instead of girl? BOY I would fucking cackle. I hate that word. No. Do you ever watch The Simpsons? No. Have you ever sent an embarrassing moment of yours into a mag to be printed? OH MY GOD I remember that!!! But no. What IS your most embarrassing moment? Too lazy to go through the novel of 'em to pick the worst. Do you think you’re more cute or sexy? You assume I find myself either. Do you own any mini skirts? I don't own any skirts period. Do you draw little hearts and stuff with eyeliner next to your eyes? No. What’s the most expensive thing you’ve ever lost? Idk. Has your mom ever lied to you? I'm sure she has before. Do you have a deep voice? For a girl, yeah. When’s the last time someone made breakfast for you? *shrugs* Exclusively for me, probably never. Do you do something new with your hair practically every day? No, it's the same everyday. When someone knocks on the door, who do you think it is? Delivery guy. Has anyone ever licked your foot? Ew no. Do you play games with boys/girls, like ‘hard to get’? I'm not 15. Has a guy ever quoted a romantic Shakespeare line to you? No, and I'm glad, as I'd cringe into another realm. Is there a Sonic where you live? Yes, I LIVE- Do you smile with your teeth? Usually. I look less high, at least. What did you eat for lunch today? A pb&j. What do you like on your pizza? Pepperoni, jalapenos, or meat lovers. What is in the back seat of your car right now? I don't own a personal car. Mom has a a load of stuff in the back of hers, at least I think... That's super rare, but she's been so ungodly busy idk if she's had time to clean it out. I haven't paid attention so can't recall. What was the last thing you threw up? Idr. Menthol or regular cigarettes? I don't smoke and never have, so idk. What is your favorite episode of Friends? I don't watch it, and I haven't seen many episodes at all if for whatever reason I was in a room and it was on. Does anyone have any blackmail on you? No. Have you been to a strip club? No. What’s the last sporting event you watched? Hell if I remember. It had to either be my 16th birthday when Jason's family was all together watching the Super Bowl, or a hockey game with my dad. Last person’s house you were in? Besides my own, my sister's. Who is the last person you sent a message to on Facebook? Nicole. Ever go to camp? No. Were you an honor roll student in school? Yeah. Do you have a tan? HA no. How old do you want to be when you have kids? I don't want kids. Are you someone’s best friend? Yeah. Favorite gemstone? Dragon's breath opal. Do you go in at a fast food place or just hit the drive thru? Drive thru, almost always. Does your first memory involve your dad? No. When was the last time you went swimming? Last summer at the beach. Holy fuck the water was so perfect. Has your luggage ever gotten lost? No. Have you ever thought it would be cool to smash a guitar? No. Like... just why. Do you ever get flu shots? No.

Paul Thomas Anderson's 6 Music Videos (DVD, 2001 or 2002)
This is one of the rarest items you'll ever find!  This is the only "official" DVD that collects all of PTA's famed music videos!History of this DVDPTA compiled this DVD himself and handed out an EXTREMELY LIMITED number of them to very select people.  Among them was Greg M******i, the filmaker that ran PTA's official website/fansite.  Greg sold this DVD, as well as some other PTA DVD's, to me in 2003.The quality of these videos is incredible!  For any of you that have that only been able to view these videos on youtube, this will really be a treat for you!Below, please find a list of the videos included on this amazing DVD, along with a brief overview of each film (taken from cigarettes & redvines)
What videos do you get?
Try - Michael Penn
michael penn walks down a very long hallway filled with strange people and magic tricks.
breakdown 'try' was shot during the editing of boogie nights while the film was being reviewed by the mpaa. delays allowed a window of time to shoot and edit the music video. the longest hallway in north america, which incidentally is in downtown LA, was used as the only shooting location since the video is only one shot. paul has commented that he would like to someday shoot a movie there, but his idea of interlocking stories likely turned into 'magnolia'.
michael penn on his music video: "I was having a hard time trying to figure out what to do for a video for this song, and I was talking to Paul about it and he had always expressed a desire to do it, but I really didn't think that he would do it, that he would be able to because he was cutting Boogie Nights at the time. We started talking about the song apparently he knew a location in Los Angeles which is the longest hallway in North America, it's 3/4 of a mile long, and we went there together and kind of looked at the location and we walked it while a walkman was playing the song and it was just about the same length to walk it as the song. That kind of suggested an idea and it worked out great because the video is one continuous shot so there was no editing involved so we were able to do it all in one weekend. And that's what we did. I think it took about 14 takes to accomplish."
'try' contains numerous details that only get stranger upon repeat viewings. the video has a dreamlike quality that extends beyond the asthetics and into the actions of the people inside. crew members in the background look for objects with flashlights and take paintings off the walls while phillip seymour hoffman jogs to catch up with a rolling michael penn, who is handed a guitar which is never played. the camera passes through many extras and removable walls, eventually coming upon stretch of hallway that is an exact replica of the movie 'they shoot horses, don't they?'. pta's hallway adaptation is complete with referees on rollerskates and a gig young lookalike.
Save Me - Aimee Mann
save me was shot during the off-moments in principal photography during magnolia, paul having aimee mann stand into the shot during various key moments in the characters day. it was initially speculated that aimee was digitally put into these shots after the fact, but knowing paul's actors' willingness to do his bidding on a moments notice - this is obviously incorrect and would have been an unnecessarily expensive way of shooting the sequences.
breakdown the video is staged in similar fashion to the 'wise up' sequence in the film -- following each character at a key moment, but this time with aimee mann lurking in the shadows or beside them singing the lyrics.
the characters are reflected technically in the showy stagings of jimmy gator & frank mackey's blocking (gwenovier's preview monitor & table move, jimmy gator's rotating couch and multiple things that come alive behind them before cutting away) to the careful dollies with claudia, linda & donnie smith. the film's caretakers of sorts are the only ones appearing to be productive - phil watches over earl, jim kurring on the job presumably about to pull someone over.
even the day-player's characters are encapsulated with limited screen time - the best example occurring throughout the 'smiling peanut' sequence. the camera dollies behind the bar towards donnie smith, and before each character leaves the frame, they turn and react to bill macy in their own way. (brad smiles brightly, thurston blows smoke bitterly in donnie's face)
Across the Universe - Fiona Apple
fiona apple covers the beatles classic 'across the universe' for the film 'pleasantville.' this was paul's first music video with fiona apple, which is a re-creation of the soda pop vandalism scene from the film. fiona, wearing large old fashioned headphones, sings & travels unfazed by the chaos and destruction surrounding her.
an interesting note: the version of the video that lives on the pleasantville dvd, the camera hangs on fiona's face for several seconds before slowly fading out, whereas the version on the '6 videos by PTA' (a dvd paul made after the couple's break-up) that shot barely exists before a rapid fade out ends the clip.
breakdown the music video was shot on location with a motion control camera. the presence of mirrors and complicated rigs made this a fairly expensive shoot. the idea behind motion control photography is that the camera can perform the same movement twice, which is very useful for compositing two shots where the camera is moving. the video is only made up of five shots made up of many composited shots.
the music video opens with a stained glass section of the shop window being destroyed. the glass and the bench that is thrown through it are computer generated and have been motion tracked into the shot. real glass elements are added as characters jump through the window. the motion control aspect of the video is apparent as the camera moves through the window to see fiona apple in front of a mirror, which the camera is not present in. it is likely that another camera performed a mirrored motion track with that side of the set partially removed.
the false nature of the mirror is visible just after a chair is thrown through the foreground at about 8:29, where the mirror's image seems to fade into itself, likely the bridging of two separate takes. as the camera moves closer to fiona, her reflection is more visible and has some unusual properties to it that seem to defy description. at this point fiona begins to move through the set without walking (she is sitting on the rig at this point).
the shots that follow are a combination of high speed photography of the set being destroyed and footage of fiona shot with the same camera movement only without the action in the background. some of the compositing is visible around her neck/headphones near the end of the first shot. look carefully for small sections on her left side that seem to be wavering or wobbling, these symptoms of compositing are different than blue/greenscreening ones.
the spinning shot is simply a variation of the previous shot, with fiona attached at the waist to a rotating rig. rotating debris was composited into the foreground to further distract the eyes as ILM's tricks hide everywhere in the frame. the third shot is the simplest in the video, and features a lighting change on fiona as the camera moves closer to her.
the beginning of the fourth shot begins extremely close on fiona's face and pulls out partway through, further suggesting that the percussion of the song is responsible for the damage being done to the store. the camera moves around her face 180 degrees to pull out with another lighting change as fiona walks across the counter. keep your eye out for some ridiculous extras through the window in the top right corner of the frame.
as the camera pushes back into fiona's face, wavering softness is visible around the edges of her hair suggesting more tricky compositing.
the final shot of the video is one of the more complicated ones, and begins with fiona sitting cross legged in front of the door. since the lighting changes caused by people running through the door and obstructing the major apparent source of edge lighting (the sun), the light highlights were changed on her body when the video was being composited. this is apparent especially when the shiny part of her hair is changed: we should see the individual strands of her hair, but instead the white glow just turns grey. fiona exits the frame to leave us with more slow motion photography, and ends as the camera pushes in on her again. computer generated letters spelling 'the end' have also been composited in the background.
Fast as You Can - Fiona Apple
paul's most random format experiement. shot in various locations around their shared la home, paul filmed fiona with everything from a lumiere camera to a modern 35mm camera.
breakdown the video was shot after the completion of magnolia, and just looks like paul and fiona apple having fun with tricks. fiona described her song as 'full of gags', and wanted the video to reflect that in an acoustic way (ie avoiding anything computer generated). the shoot was extremely rushed and concepts were made up on the spot. the footage changes aspect ratios and frame rates constantly, likely the result of adjustable motors or hand cranks. the video made a lot of people upset when the frame rate runs out of sync with the music (on purpose). the video also marks one of the first appearance of the iris out at the end of the video, which paul would later use in punch-drunk love. the video was nominated for 'best pop video of the year' at the annual billboard music video awards.
the lens effect. pta uses this effect in this video as well as magnolia ("but it did happen") it involves dropping various lenses of different lengths into the camera during the shot - giving an in-camera circular looking jump cut. this technique is also used in the opening of steven soderbergh's 'schizopolis' to a humorous and mystifying degree.
Limp - Fiona Apple
a video which main gimmick revolves around the replacing of the color blue with red on and around fiona, as well as lights & fireplaces turning on and off. fiona awakes from a scene not dissimilar of that from magnolia (ray and claudia blocking, before jimmy knocks at the door). paul's original idea for the puzzle involved some complex trick of having the pieces rise from the table and form themselves.
Paper Bag - Fiona Apple
paper bag was shot at a restaurant in los angeles' union train station in early 2000. the dancing was choreographed by michael rooney, whose work includes bjork's 'it's oh so quiet', fatboy slim's 'praise you', and most recently 'i heart huckabees'.
breakdown the video carries pta's classic camera whips and high contrast colour palette, and very obviously shows his love for old fashioned musicals (ie 'singin' in the rain). the video features fiona apple spinning around a train station helplessly as children surround her with intricately planned dance moves. the child aspect seems to be derived both from apple's lyrics "i thought he was a man but he was just a little boy" and the 1976 film 'bugsy malone', in which children portray a world of gangsters. the lighting flows from deep blues (near the beginning and end) to high contrast red and whites (in the middle).

Wow, thanks for showing so much interest in the team everyone! We actually took the time to ask our members to write a little bio about themselves so that you guys can get to know us better. Please don’t hesitate if you have more questions for us!
@shinjikagawa-baby (Portia) ✨Timer, Typesetter, Encoder✨ Portia from the Phillipines! Founder of this fansite and fansub team! Currently on a hiatus. She’s a sweet girl who’s both into soccer and spiderman. Her ichiban is Yamada and that solves the mystery behind our team’s name. She was the one who started this fansub and fansite, initially planning to focus on Yamada. But since our members have expanded and now we’ve become a bigger team, we began to focus on other members too, making us a HSJ fan sub team. We love each of the members.
@humming-yay ✨Translator✨ Hello I’m Yuna and I’m one of the translators! My parents are both Japanese but I was born and raised in Australia so I am bilingual :) I’ve always watched Japanese TV so I knew of HSJ and I also watched School Kakumei but I only started getting into them in 2015 when they released Chau ^^ I saw thier performance and got really into them since then! My bias is Chinen <3 I also like Arashi and NEWS too!
@gayforjay ✨Translator✨ I’m Daniel and I’m a translator for our subbing team! I live in the US but both of my parents are from Japan, so that’s how I know how to speak Japanese. I learned about HSJ from the drama Scrap Teacher but didn’t really start becoming a fan of the group until Itadaki High Jump started. My biases now are Keito and Takaki (who has the same birthday as Xiumin from EXO!) I also like Arashi, NEWS, BTS and EXO! My tumblr username is gayforjay and my twitter is @gay4jay
@shiawaserainbw9 ✨Translator✨ Hi! I’m Yuri from Australia ~ Hika is my ichiban ❤️ Although I will admit Yuya does a pretty good job of being a bias wrecker. I first got to know of Jump when Yuya caught my eye in Gokusen 3 and Hikaru in Ikemen desu ne and I discovered they were from the same group! I’ve been a fan ever since. I’m always happy to meet other fans because I could talk about HSJ all day long😂 I also love NEWS!  Yoroshiku onegaishimasu ~~
@cecevy ✨Typesetter✨ Hi! Cece, from Indonesia. Ansatsu Kyoshitsu LA and Grasshopper were the first movies that I watched, so it means that Yamada was the one who pulled me to enter this fandom, I was so grateful he did that. lol. But, I officially declared myself as a Tobikko since I watched Keito calling Yamada “very unattractive” on Itadaki High Jump HAHA, and thereafter I claimed Keito as my ichiban. I even consider myself an Alpaca since Keito is a fluffy fetish, no I mean a die-hard Alpaca lover. lol. Oh, and if you happened to notice any little silly comments in the videos, that’s me!^^ I’m sorry, I couldn’t help myself I kept flailing over JUMP. I love all the members! My tumblr and twitter: cecevy.
@thaztha ✨Typesetter✨ Hello~ I’m Tha, an Indonesian. Currently in my 20s. Got to know HSJ back in 2009 but they are still too young for my liking back then, so I kind of shrugged them off.. Years later, I found out that Kindaichi has a new drama series. Seeing Yamada all grown up, I got curious about HSJ. So i dug deeper. I completely falling in love with the voice who sang the first lines on Score. Yep. That voice belongs to the adorable sunshine, Arioka Daiki!
@jellylei55 ✨Timer✨
@inookei ✨Timer✨
@pockethearts ✨Timer✨
@Norapedia1 ✨Timer, Typesetter✨ Name is Noura, from Saudi Arabia, 20 years old. hsj/arashi/anime.etc english to arabic translator in the past, decided to join this team Instead for the sake of spreading the Jump’s love on wider range! yama’s angelic voice was the reason why i first started following these boys seven years ago. he is my “never ending crush” since then.
@delikeito8010 ✨Timer, Typesetter✨ Hey! I’m Venus, from Canada, where finding another Jpop enthusiast is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Yamada brought me to HSJ (via Assassination Classroom, I think), but my bias is Inoo (most of the time, I love them all too much). On my quest to find more Jpop in 2016, I stumbled upon HSJ and promptly fell head over heels for these 9 dorks. I blame the Fantastic Time PV & making, their dancing and ability to act like grade schoolers simultaneously piqued my interest. Oh, Itadaki High Jump helped too.
@FaiaSakura ✨Timer, Typesetter✨
@Puppyboo5 ✨Timer, Encoder✨ Tina, the 1st gen of Heisei :“D I’ve known Yama-chan since 2007 from Tantei Gakuen but not as a fan. Until 2016, I watched Cain and Abel drama and recognized how well he grow up hehe. So I’ve been tobikko from about the end of 2016 >0<
@aizawanikka ✨Timer, Typesetter, Encoder✨ I’m Nikka from Indonesia. I’ve been a JUMP fan since around 2008-ish. Basically my path to knowing JUMP was Nobuta wo Produce-fetus YutoYama in Seishun Amigo-Yamada as Amakusa Ryu. I start to develop interest in him as an actor in TGQ but only after I saw him dance and sing at a JUMP concert clip I began to fall for him and now here I am [STUCK IN THIS FANDOM LOL]. I love JUMP because of their amazing bond with each other. FMA & JUMP is my two favorite thing so FMA live action is a big deal for me. I started becoming active in the fandom ever since the live action news broke out. I joined this fansub to spread the love for our boys of course by providing an open subbing community where everyone has easy access to JUMP’s subbed videos.
@sarapyon ✨Translator, Timer, Typesetter, Encoder✨ Hiyom! I’m Sarah Jane from the Philippines but I’m mostly known in any social media as Sarapyon/Sarapyon1228. My tumblr blog is kinda well-known for being into the otaku fandom especially anime, seiyuus and video games, but I’ve been an Hey! Say! JUMP fan ever since the original HS7 because of their songs being the opening and ending songs (Hey! Say! and Bon Bon) of Lovely Complex anime and since then, I’ve been following them until now. I don’t really show it much on my blog that I’m also into Johnny’s but I do make some gifsets from time to time ^^ I even tried to let go of being a tobikko before but it’s really hard to let it go especially when HSJ is the reason how I got so interested to Japanese culture so much (。’▽’。)♡ That’s why I’m here in this fansub team to help out you guys understand what they’re saying in the shows, dramas and such they’re in (๑°꒵°๑) If you guys know me in the otaku fandom especially about seiyuus, then you know my experience for translating gifsets/videos ( ̄^ ̄)ゞ Oh, and also my bias is Yamada Ryosuke hehe~ Tokoro de, minna-san yoroshiku ne (Anyway, everyone, please to meet you)!!
@crystiliastudio ✨Encoder✨ Doumo! Illa desu~A Malaysian. I am the encoder and sometimes raw provider for the team. I also love Photoshop a lot! I knew JUMP since 2010 from Kame’s dramas and attracted to chibi Yuto. But my heart now owned by Ryosuke XD Love each member very much ❤❤❤. Yoroshiku!
By the way, all of these bios have been compiled and put on our Member Page.

An infectious virus has been hidden inside your bias which will spread if physical human contact is made. How likely are you to be able to help them get back to Korea or somewhere that can treat the virus, and what would your strategy be? Any language barriers are in place and you cannot deux ex machina your way out.

I’ve been feeling a bit reflective about my old fandom since yesterday, after watching a compilation video of all the times The Monkees broke the fourth wall. I also realised it’s roughly three years since I hosted the first Monkees Awards! So many people took part back then. Oh how things change!
This post gets kinda long, and I chat about the differences between my old fandom, and my current fandom, and what I’ve learnt from my experiences. I’m shoving it under a read more so not to flood your dash’s!!!!
It’s so sad how things work out. It’s so sad the way that a fandom that was happy and active when I joined in 2012 just fizzled out to nothing a few years later. I know it had been on the decline for a little while, but the fact that it finally died in 2016 - the Monkees 50th anniversary year - is honestly so so sad to me. I just find it a real shame.
There were some good people in that fandom. Some smart, funny and fun people. It’s sad that many people got too scared to post, and we all know why that was. It made the most active blogs who posted the most content - like myself at the time - not want to post anymore, as we’d go into the tag and it would be.....dead. There would be nothing there. Nothing to inspire us to create, and I know I’d wonder if anyone would care if I did post. There didn’t seem to be the audience anymore.
There were people I really thought were friends. If not proper hardcore friends, then mates at least. There are a handful of Monkees fans/blog that still follow me. Most of them unfollowed me, which I can understand - especially now I post so much of something else. It’s still a shame though. I lost one of the first Monkees blogs that ever followed me/that I ever followed the other day, but at least she messaged me first and explained, which I really appreciated. It was a nice gesture, to say there was no hard feelings, she still wanted to stay in touch, but she was just cleaning up her dash. Which again, I totally get. Especially when I’m posting 8848429 Robron posts a day (which....I don’t every day, but when something exciting/major is happening, then yeah I can post a LOT, which I understand can be annoying to non-fans). But still, it was so kind of her to at least tell me she was going to unfollow me, especially as she’d been a constant presence on my dash for the best part of five years. I doubt I’ll ever hear from her again, but that’s okay. I still follow her all the same.
Not everyone has been that kind though. People that I’d had long, long conversations with over the course of years, people that I’d chatted to about personal stuff as well as fandom stuff just....disappeared. Either unfollowed or simply stopped talking to me all together. In one very specific case, with someone I used to talk to quite a lot, I said “I don't want it to get so you only speak to me about terrible people and nothing else.” to which the person said that would never be the case. I saw that as a test, an opportunity for me to see if that person would ever actually talk to me about anything else, so I left the door open, wondering if they would ever get in touch with me, ask me how I was doing, or anything like that.
It’s been almost six months, and they never spoke to me again.
But I know that’s just the way it goes for some people. I know they want their fandom friends and if you take the fandom away then they don’t want to know. And I mean.....I get it. I honestly do. But it can be eye-opening. I feel like I have learnt a lot, and I’ve definitely learnt to protect myself, to not invest myself as heavily anymore. Which is....hard for me. It goes against my natural instincts.
It’s especially hard, coming into a fandom where everyone is so so kind and sympathetic and caring and open and just....nice. I was burnt a LOT in my last fandom, and used a lot too. People who would come to me, spilling all of their problems, and I would spend hours talking to them, trying to help them. But once they’d got my advice, my sympathy, they didn’t want to know. And when the tables were turned, and I was the one struggling, I’d hear nothing from them.
But that was my fault. It was something I spoke about a lot at the time and I won’t go into it again. But it taught me a hell of a lot!! I can never not help people or be there if they need it, but I’ve definitely learnt the signs between people that genuinely care, and genuinely need help, and people who just.....like attention, people who will take take take but won’t give. I can read it a lot better now. But at the same time, I also know not to invest too much of myself into these people. I can offer advice and support but I don’t necessarily have to offer me.
I haven’t encountered anyone like that in this fandom so far, which is amazing. But I still have the valuable lessons from my old fandom (and my first ever fandom, the MCR fandom tbh) that I can carry with me!
But I mean, I’m not going to say it was all bad, or all people were selfish or awful or anything, because by god they weren’t! And even the people that were self-involved.....I know it wasn’t their fault. It doesn’t make them bad people. I don’t hate them or even dislike them, not at all. Some people are just like that, and maybe it was my fault, maybe I just put myself out there like I was a doormat or something. I don’t know. I accept my part of the responsibility. Sometimes I try too hard.
But there were great people too, and great times. There were some funny conversations and memes and some really insightful posts and I learnt a hell of a lot. It was such a different experience, being in a fandom where the band’s/TV show’s heyday was 20 years before I was ever born. It was weird to just celebrate the past and not really have any care for the future. A totally different ball-game to being in a fandom like I’m in now, where every day there seems to be something new, something to look forward to (or dread!) and there are obviously a hell of a lot more people about now.
But I did like how....chilled it was. There was still the odd drama, but for the most part it was fine. It was pretty easy. And I had a lot of respect for the women who compiled so much information, who run fansites for years and made the Monkees seem hip to teenagers in the 90s-2000s instead of having kids see them as some lame old band from the 60s. I love that it was a fandom run by women.
And I’m proud of the place I managed to carve for myself amongst the fandom, especially considering I was a fan post-Davy Jones’ death. I was a newer fan, but I was still welcomed and I still found my place. I had a lot of fun putting together all the posts I did, finding pictures, making screen-captures of my favourite scenes, writing my reviews of the albums and the episodes, and especially hosting the Monkees Awards from 2014-2016. That first year especially was amazing, because so many people took part!! Considering it was such a small fandom, I would say half of all the active Monkees blogs on tumblr at the time took part in that first year, which was so much fun.
I do miss it sometimes. I do feel like my current fandom is more for me though, in the sense that people talk/interact a lot more. It made me sad how the Monkees fandom got from probably the start of 2015-ish, until the end....people spoke less and less. It become more and more about the same old pictures and less and less about discussion. Which, I mean, I can understand in a way because this was an old band, an old TV show, it wasn’t like there was much new stuff to cover. But there seemed to be a lot of people without voices, where even when you’d ask a question, people would reblog the question but wouldn’t give an answer. That always baffled me, that even when prompted and encouraged to talk about their favourite episode or their favourite song/album, they wouldn’t. It was a bit odd to me, but each to their own. Not everyone is a fan in the same way and I totally respect that.
That’s why I enjoy this fandom more, because there is constant discussion. I think the only thing that gets me down is sometimes there is SO MUCH and I want to be a part of it all but it can be impossible to keep up! There are so many insanely smart and observant and articulate people within this fandom and it blows my mind. As much as I love the stunning gifsets and edits and art etc, it’s a good ol’ text post that will get me the most excited. And writing is the only thing I really have to offer, and compared to so many other people here, I know it’s not much. But I have been welcomed in such an amazing way. I know I have been an Emmerdale fan long before there was a fandom here (long before tumblr even existed!), but when the fandom was born I was sort of on the outskirts of it, more a lurker, as I still hung onto my old fandom and I didn’t want to spread myself too thin by being heavily involved in two fandoms. Letting go of my old fandom and throwing myself into this one was the best thing I have done in a long time.
But anyway. This is a lot longer than I planned it to be!!!! I don’t know if anyone would read it, but I’ve been thinking a lot about this stuff since yesterday.
I will always continue to reblog my old Monkees posts (one at 7pm, and one at 2:30am, every single day!!!) because....I don’t want to let go completely. I may not offer anything new, but I still like to hold on a little bit!
If anyone still follows me who still loves the Monkees, and you ever fancy shooting me an ask and chatting about them (the music/the show/the boys themselves!) honestly....that would make me so happy. I may have moved on in many ways but I will never not love them and I will never not love the good years I had in their wonderful fandom!

Okay, so, English isn't my native language so please excuse me. I've been a hardcore BTS stan for a long time, with Namjoon as my ultimate bias, the love of my life, my everything, my golden boy etc etc etc. But for the last couple of months, I kind of started drifting away from them. And it's not because I stopped loving them. It's mostly because of their fandom. The bigger it gets, the more I feel awful being a part of it. They're everywhere and there is no escape. My favourite BTS style (1/?)
was their debut days, their hip hop style. But that’s not even the issue. I see people everywhere who don’t even know the old them, who only care about their newest stuff and how many views it can get in the first 24 hours. They never listened to their older songs with deep meaning. Every time I go to comments I see fanwars, streaming info, views, views, views. Views are great, but if it’s the only thing that matters, it’s not going to say people that much in 15 years, original sound and (2/?)
Interesting music will. There are fans that put them on a pedestal, think that they’re absolutely perfect, that everything they do has Never been done before, and tend to downplay all other groups, even though they never even listened to them. Popularity gap between the members makes me sick, and I don’t know what to do. I don’t want to stop loving Namjoon ever, but I feel so bitter and have no idea how to stop feeling this way. :(
actually a lot of what you’re saying is extremely relatable because ive been into bts for 3 years and i genuinely love their music now but it isn’t the rebel-against-society, beat-the-odds, encourage-the-youth music they used to have anymore. even though that’s the kind of music i liked in bts best, i acknowledge that they grew as artists and with songs like ‘not today’ they do touch upon that old style every once in a while. however when bts blew up, i do know how it felt to feel weird in the fandom because a lot of the new fans didn’t know the old bts and were also uncomfortable in a lot of ways (not to generalize! there’s a lot of amazing new fans. what i mean is that a there’s new fans out there that sexualize bts or do things that make both bts and the fandom uncomfortable) and back in the end of 2015, i didn’t want to call myself an army anymore. however, i realized that having a messy fandom doesn’t mean i should deprive myself from enjoying a group ive loved for years (though the fandom still makes me uncomfortable many times and often, i reconsider calling myself ‘army’).
i also understand what you mean by the whole ‘views’ game but i think that’s go less to do with bts and more to do with kpop as a culture. i dislike it because it feels like no one comes to listen to kpop music for the sake of enjoying the production but rather to increase views and compete with other bands. i stopped looking at comment sections now and more so when people post stats on tumblr like ‘x number of views in x number of hours’ it feels so ridiculous. i know people want their favorite bands to win awards and everything but it makes me feel like they destroy the purpose of music as a function of instant commercialism which ruins it for the long run.
i no longer know if people genuinely enjoy the music/songs or just blindly say they love it just because they like that band. i love bts but i can sit back and critically tell people the albums, tracks and releases i dislike but it’s impossible to do that out loud because fans attack you for not loving every move their favorite group makes and everything they do. there’s little free discourse about critical analysis.
also, i know what you mean by feeling more distant from them? in my first 2 years of stanning them, i watched every fancam, every bangtan bomb, every video, every show they were on the second it came out but now i often skip watching it or watch it much, much later. i don’t have analysis about this though because that’s not bts’ fault, it’s just that i’m more used to them now and i don’t feel obligated like that now because i know they have a lot of support so if i’m late i don’t feel bad.
finally, don’t start me on the popularity gap !! namjoon has been the last on that list from 2014 to now as long as i’ve been in the fandom. every other member has more content, fansites, fancams, compilation videos, vines and everything in between (trust me, i really know, i’ve scoured for namjoon videos). again though, not bts’ fault, it happens with every band though it still makes me so sad.

Promoting your Sync Placement: How to make the most of your 30 seconds of fame
Finding out that your music will be featured on a TV show can feel like a huge career breakthrough. It’s a major opportunity; one you need to plan for. “Every single week we see artists missing out on this chance to connect with new fans,” says TuneFind’s Amanda Byers.“Those potential fans aren’t going to come back later.”
There are simple things you can do to maximize your placement’s impact on your career, and easy ways to get your music and information out to potential fans.
Get your music online (and in online stores)
This sounds like a no-brainer, but many songs wind up on a show — and nowhere else. Setting up distribution can take time and require some diligence.
To make sure you’re not shortchanging yourself by signing a contract that doesn’t serve your best interests on the publishing side, it’s best to start early. “I’ve waited until the last minute before, and it cost me thousands of dollars,” notes singer-songwriter Aron Wright, whose music has appeared on shows like Grey’s Anatomy, Empire, and The Vampire Diaries.
[With CD Baby Pro, you get worldwide music distribution AND worldwide publishing royalty collection, so you’ll be set up to collect all your royalties from the start.]
“A digital/indie distributor is ideal so you can sell your track across multiple platforms, but even Bandcamp, SoundCloud, or your own website is better than nothing,” agrees Byers. “Engage your new fans, make sure they know who you are. Get them to follow you on social media or get their email addresses. Get them to listen to your other songs. It all helps build your audience.”
Get your music on Shazam
It makes business sense to get your music in online stores or on streaming platforms. But don’t forget Shazam, which is how many viewers will identify your track as they watch.
“Shazam isn’t perfect–it can’t identify well if the clip is too short or if there’s dialog or background noise –but it’s an important channel for discovery,” Byers says.
Note: with CD Baby, your music will be included in Shazam’s database as part of your distribution.
Promote your placement on social media
Post about it. Tweet about it. Instagram it. Tag your friends. Ask friends and fans to share the news explicitly. Thank the Music Supervisor (using their Twitter handle) for the placement when you post there, and be sure to research and use the correct show hashtags.
You might also want to consider buying ads, but be strategic here. You can specifically target the show’s fans. Social media ads let you specifically target fans of the show, certain geographies, and audience demographics that match your typical fan base. Think carefully about how to slice and dice your potential fans, and target who you’re most likely to appeal to with that track.
Says Wright, “Do A/B testing with multiple ads and track conversions so you know what’s effective. You don’t want to spend $2 to make $.99. Think about where your ads are directing people who click, based on your goals.” Wright recommends advertising merchandise like t-shirts, not just mp3 downloads, to get more bang for your ad buck.
Look for and reach out to show fans
“You often don’t know exactly how the song will be used until the show airs. If you know it’s going to be at an important moment, get on Twitter,” Byers suggests. “Some shows also have fansites, forums, and message boards, too. These can be another venue to raise awareness.”
However, artists need to tread lightly with show fans: “If it’s just a few seconds in the background of a transitional scene and you’re making a big deal about it, you’ll get flamed,” warns Byers. “If your music is part of a major scene, or related to a specific character, you’ve got a good chance to interest a lot more fans.”
Interact with users on TuneFind
Going to places where people specifically look for the music they hear on screen will help your efforts to connect with new fans. Make sure to submit your sync placement on TuneFind, and check out fan activity on the site after the episode airs.
“TuneFind has seen lots of indie artists with sync placements come to the site and find passionate listeners who are excited about their music,” Byers says. “The back-and-forth between musicians and new fans is really great.”
“I’ve had so many people find me and my music via TuneFind over the years,” adds Wright. “Thousands of people may be looking for your song after a placement. TuneFind usually pops up first on a Google search because it’s the best organized website for TV and film placements.”
Put together a lyric (or other very simple) video and post it
Another platform viewers are likely to search: YouTube. Posting a well-annotated and tagged video there will help them find you.
“A lyric video is a great, simple way to get your track up,” Byers suggests. “It’s better to have something straightforward up there – that references your placement – than nothing at all.”
Wright agrees. For one of his first placements on Grey’s Anatomy, he spent several thousand dollars on a produced video, only to find that a far simpler video–a still photo with the song title, show name, season, and episode numbers–got far more views. “You want to put up a link bubble or other way to grab attention in the video, that sends people to iTunes. Put in as many relevant tags as possible, and give it the same title as the text you use in the video itself. That makes it highly searchable for people who know the episode, but not who you are.”
Talk to the music supervisor
When you’re coming up with your sync promotion plan, don’t forget the people who got you the placement in the first place: the music supervisor who chose your track.
Many music supervisors reach out to followers and show fans directly via social media. You can encourage them to talk about your track when they do. “You can ping a supe – politely! – and ask if they are going to mention your track and your Twitter handle,” Byers recommends. “If a supe tweets songs during a broadcast, make sure you’re included there.”
Make sure your team is making some noise
And don’t forget the sync agent who got you the placement. They may be happy to shout out the success, too. “We’ll sometimes see sync agencies or management posting about a placement,” Byers remarks. “If you’ve used an agent or have a team, make sure they are making noise, too.”
Reach out to the media
Sometimes you can get a little more press love thanks to a sync. It never hurts to reach out to journalists you admire and who cover your genre or scene and let them know. You may hear nothing back, but your sync may be just the nudge they need to cover your music.
“I got a song reviewed in USA Today, alongside Kelly Clarkson, by writing the journalist and saying the song was going to be on Grey’s Anatomy,” Wright recounts. He also advises patience and persistence, sound advice for any promotional or marketing effort. “Keep asking. You may only get one good thing out of a hundred, but that one good thing or connection with a person might be what changes everything for you. That’s how it was for me.”
