#my art #mission to zyxx #C-53 #pleck decksetter #dar mtz #ok time for some of my appearance headcanons #i was just gonna give c little dot eyes but i was goofing around with the doodle #and i was like. oh actually little light up ocular sensors that look like 👁️👁️ are kinda funny #i'm kinda trying to hit the space where the juck bot frame could conceivably have the same inner workings as the c frame #but it's got more like. idk plating and synthetic skin and stuff #i also think that ideally this type of frame is supposed to be more fully covered? with skin. less visible joints #and is supposed to have a cooler better looking face #but they got it at a discount store that sorta refurbished it juuuuuuust well enough to sell #they also mention in the show that the eyes glow and the jaw comes off #if there were any other details i forgot about them #i like tellurians to be Pretty Much Human #but I do like the pointy ears interpretation for one main reason:#i can put perfect little pointy ones on tellurians that are the Standard for good looks (rolphus etc.)#and give pleck ones that are slightly larger and a little bent. i just think that's fun #i'm also a short pleck truther and do not believe he is skinny. that man is at least midsized. actually probably just midsized #cause if he were too big he would be too cool #ohh and first time drawing the k'hekk eye yayyyy. it should probably be nastier but i can only do so much #dar i really imagine round cause it's like the classic Big Guy shape and they have no bones in their head so it can't be that structured #bodywise my design is def inspired by tikkitronictonic and snuffysbox's designs #i was at a total loss on how to interpret the talons and chutes and flaps when I was listening and this is easy and smooth #maybe the only major difference is that i imagine dar is pretty hygienic and furry scales feel like they'd be hard to keep clean #with all the uh. goings on #so i've got those across the chest and arms and then the torso is smoother in my mind #also ik dar is supposed to be like twice pleck's size but it's hard to stand these people next to each other #my brother said they made up a thing called mass shifting in transformers g1 to excuse the scale issues. so i'll do it too. get off my case

*annoying xenofiction author voice* I actually don't think the reader inherently derives any benefit from the POV character (of a non-human species) being described with more human terms of anatomy. in fact I think if you aren't using your phrasing to reinforce your worldbuilding or POV it can be just as distracting as the use of more animalistic terms to refer to anthropormophized characters. which isn't to say that either choice of language inherently helps or hurts the reader experience, but how this word choice relates to other facets of the written world can and will

#anyways I disagree with that attached reblog I keep seeing on that poll #literally if someone is reading about dragons and gets distracted by the use of talons/claws/etc for 'hands' then that is.#really not the author's problem #but also I'm speaking as. a reader of xenofiction! in which a combination of human and animal traits is not really something the reader #should get caught up on.#that's like watching a musical and not liking it because people don't break into choreographed song in real life #in both cases it's an advantage of the genre!! don't feel the need to treat it like a problem to be solved #draketxt

and, as a secondary thought: while all of these people came together for a singular purpose with the veilguard (as these things go), we also gotta remember that these people have had full lives outside of the veilguard, and those lives don't stop just because of it. there's more to them than a singular personal quest chain, and is definitely something i want to dig into.

#‡ ooc #ive been thinking abt it for over a week now...#talons in the demaxian army and works in subterfuge/eliminating specific enemy leaders quietly etc when subtlety is needed #and hating their life and everybody hates them etc you get it. the funny gags can legit just duplicated from dreadnova #i think another gag would be the life and eye threatening situations talon keeps Narrowly avoiding #like 'phew. that could have taken my eye out. or left a scar. haha.'#they refuse to get a higher ranking so theyre like. a maxed out grunt basically. and also because its p obvious their loyalty is... lacking #they COULD be as good as an ordinal but theyre not loyal to ANYTHING but also too good to be 'let go'#but it means if they try anything fishy theyre gone instantly #so many typos ill hop on to a puter soon. having a sick day cause i feel like a soggy piece of paper #tho the idea of dreadnova talon travelling through a wormhole and just arriving in the odyssey universe is SOOO GOOD still.... hmmmmm...

one of my LEAST favorite tropes (though i understand why it exists) is slightly anthro birds that use their wings as hands. prime example i can think of is the rito. i get its to anthropomorphize birds further and to be more expressive but also. thats not how wings work and you missed an incredible opportunity to be actually creative about how an anthro bird society could work around not having hands.

#babe…#ever since it’s happened that affected her entire character #and the way she’s been perceived #like even versions of Babs written where the attack never happened are perceived through the lens of the audience who knows that it did #It’s like saying ppl who talk abt Jason mention his death too much #even when speaking abt Jason who’s Robin or aus where Jason never died #the fact that he DID will always be an integral part of his character #just like the killing joke #whether you ignore what happened change what happened or deal with the results in a certain way #we’re always gonna know and compare and analyze why it was written differently to the og #that’s just how it works #especially in media dealing with multiverses and alternate dimensions #we’re always gonna compare it to ‘our’ universe #the Justice lords talon aus owlman etc.#those don’t just exist in a void 😭#you dont mention the original ‘too much’ it literally informs the character pls #like barbara being attacked by joker will unfortunately ALWAYS be part of her character #even in iterations where it didn’t happen #Bc the audience will still speak about #even if it’s just to say ‘she’s batgirl so it probably hasn’t happened yet’#that’s just how it is with milestone acts sorry 😭#whenever ppl write her it’s ALWAYS gonna be brought up just deal with it idfk
