I present to you a stupid thought. For all of episode 1 we have been both shown and told that Edwin is NOT the people person in the Agency. However right away in episode 2 when they're summoned by The Cat King, Edwin steps forward and insists he do the speaking in order to handle this diplomatically. It feels strange because while Charles might not be subtle as Edwin says about Shelby later, he is better at talking to people and working with them generally.

My stupid headcanon is that Edwin heard the word "King" and knew his anti-monarchy bestie would be his absolute WORST SELF so he stepped in before Charles could get himself in trouble.

In the books about Judaism I've been reading, there's a repeated emphasis on Jewish history being taught as something that happened not just in the past, but also to the people telling the stories in the present. The narrative is "it happened to us, to me" as opposed to "it happened to them."

This is something I've also noticed a lot in Native communities. They massacred us, they took our children, they banned our traditions, they forced us off our lands. There's no distancing ourselves from our ancestors, from the Native people of the past; their suffering is ours, their grief and pain and fear live in us.

I think this is a vitally important part of how certain groups interact with history; when your people are constant victims of extreme hate, of prejudice, of violence, you cannot afford to distance yourself from the past. The moment you do, you forget and you relax and you aren't prepared when that violence rears its head again. Because it will. If our history has taught us anything, it's that periods of quiet and "peace" (in the loosest sense of the word) for our people are the exception, they're temporary, and we need to remember that to survive.

Btw if you have frequent recurring sinus infections/sinus headaches with facial pains and pressure, you might want to see a neurologist and try taking a Triptan when you have symptoms, there's a chance what you're actually having is migraines. Stuffy nose? That can also be migraines. Neck pain and stiffness? Again, can be migraines. Teeth pains? Believe it or not, migraines. If you take a Triptan (migraine medication, not a painkiller and only relieves migraines) and all that shit goes away, you've got your answer. It's migraines baby.

Went to apply for a job, midway through I learned that the person hiring is someone I respect very, very much in my field (who I have never spoken to), then saw the application site was closed (How Did I Miss the Deadline for this Really Cool Job!!!!) and then saw that it was the website's fault and that they were taking applications through LinkedIn DM's. His eyes are constantly gleaming. Kinda shiny and pretty wide as he expresses himself even in "normal" conversions. That could also mean that his pupils are dilated a good amount too and you know what?... Manic eyes. Starry-eyes, okay? He's constantly on edge and those deep stares he has are because of that reason. He can look peak crazy sometimes talking to you, kinda like he's about to pounce at you any second. It can also mix with arousal which can also produce that effect. Sometimes when he looks at you he has that mixture of manic and aroused that drives you crazy and pulls you in for some reason. It's almost like he can control you just by looking into your eyes.

Just thinking about that drives me crazy.
