What’s even funnier was the opinions about the Church of Seiros having an army was I saw back in the day. And knowing that the Vatican has its own militia made me chuckle.
lol
Are you talking about the Swiss Guard? They have, uh, colorful uniforms, to say the least!
But yeah, I guess what those opinions were, take "Church" + "Military" and some people will come up with all kinds of inquisition/crusades/church soldiers pissing on the "temporal" emanations/soldiers/institutions...
When this is pretty much not the case, like not at all, in Fodlan, fwiw, it's a temporal state, Adrestia who pisses the most on the Church, and they aren't flattened by the Knights of Seiros or Rhea doesn't call for a special Crusade against the Empire!
and i guess all kinds of "church BaD bcs crusades against foreigners" fell even flatter on its face when Nopes depicted Almyra as... well. Y'know (on top of having Rhea specifically have a line about this issue asking Catherine not to proselytize or automatically assign CoS values on non-believers)

10 Grelle-based paraphernalia that I found on eBay, in no particular order but my subjective deeming of relevance or importance
Possibly part one of a series? Perhaps?
If so, then I probably won’t contain it to only eBay, and I’m going off of what comes up for someone who’s based in the UK, so maybe there’s more or less stuff available if you’re in other countries due to shipping limitations, etc.? But eBay at the moment is my main source, and I’m only doing this — work that anyone can do, nothing exceptionally thorough or insightful — because I’m just a little bored, and I know Grelle is the most valued in the fandom and TSOGTR hasn’t been writing itself for the past year and a quarter, so why would it start now?
This is written at 3AM-6AM on 29/8/2024, so if this is found long after this date then there’s a chance my sources have already been bought out or deleted for whatever reason.

Grell Sutcliff Funko Pop 18 Kuroshitsuji Black Butler POP! Vinyl Anime Figure
At the time of writing this, there are no bids for this and so the price remains at £21.99 (item and shipping). The current bid is due to end on ≈1/9/2024. Wait for the last second to bid one pence higher than the asking price and you’re golden.
I actually have one of these, but it was gifted to me, and so I don’t know how much mine was sold for, but seeing as the four Black Butler Funko Pops have been vaulted and are sold for way higher in other places online, I think this is a pretty good deal.
(Fun fact, the person who gifted her to me as well as tracked down other cheap listings for the other three called her Greta. Consistently. So. Greta. Greta Sutcliff.)
As we can see from the item’s pictures, the figure has been taken out of its box, at the very least just to be show-cased or inspected, but it does appear to come with the box. Here is a listing on Amazon (9.99 GBP, excluding shipping) for 10 Funko Pop display sleeves that should match the item’s measurements.
The current conversions for this item’s price (18.99 GBP) are as follow:
25.06 USD
36.91 AUD
33.77 CAD
22.52 Euro
2,103.26 INR
855,31 Turkish Lira
39.92 NZD
3,623.33 Yen
Obviously I’m not including every conversion in here, only the most obvious/prevalent. If your country’s currency isn’t here, then my apologies, and feel free to bring it to my attention (with currency named) so that I may add it to any future episodes to this possible series, or to edit this post back with the conversions of that time.

Tumblr media
Black Butler PVC Keychain Grell
The description of this listing says that this is officially licensed and from one reverse image search to find a bunch of listings across several websites for it, I’m inclined to believe that this is actually an official piece of merch and not a fan-made item that is being resold as I had originally thought it to be. (Wow, I’m such a knowledgable Black Butler fan. I know, I know.)
There’s not much to say on this other than the fact that it’s cute and I think a few pence has been shaved off from the original selling price, though I’m not too sure. I imagine it would have easily gone for 8.99 GBP, but again I’m not too sure; it’s 3AM after all and this isn’t a serious project for me.
The current conversions go as followed:
11.87 USD
17.47 AUD
15.99 CAD
10.66 Euro
996.15 INR
405,49 Turkish Lira
18.90 NZD
1,715.62 Yen
3.
Tumblr media
Grelle Black Butler manga plushie Anime Soft Toy
It’s not the best price, I admit. If you’re looking for something cheaper then maybe go for the 5" plush, and there’s another listing on AnimeWare, but once tax and shipping get evolved it ends up being more or less the same price, anyway.
I think this is under the same line as Plushlois comes from, and to that I say: if someone buys her, will that come back? Will Grelle’s face be remade by @fancymeatcomputers, as @nullbutler’s Plushlois once had?
Anyway, she’s super cute. Her hair is a bit too saturated, but that’s not much to lament over, and she’s pricey, but is still far less expensive than any available Plushlois listing I could find (£52!! Usually!!).
Here are the current conversions:
39.61 USD
58.30 AUD
53.35 CAD
35.58 Euro
3,323.16 INR
1,351.58 Turkish Lira
63.01 NZD
5,727.47 Yen
4.
Tumblr media
Black Butler Kuroshitsuji Grell Undertaker Anime two sided Pillow Case Cover 250
I’d originally listed another pillow for listing number four, which goes for the same price, but decided not to as Grelle is more prominent on this one.
Not much to say about this other than as far as I can tell it’s just the pillowcase and not a case and a pillow, but if you want to add a lil extra something to your Grelle shrine or limit your chances of finding a normie partner by having this as the centrepiece to your 20-something pillow statement on your romantic four-post bed.
Here are the current conversions:
7.91 USD
11.64 AUD
10.65 CAD
7.10 Euro
663.67 INR
269.94 Turkish Lira
12.58 NZD
1,143.54 Yen
5.
Tumblr media
Black butler Grell Sutcliffe figure Kuroshitsuji SEGA PVC Scale Anime s01
Another shambolic price, I know. But out of all the non-Funko Pop Grelle figures listed, this is definitely the cheapest.
Out of all of the non-Funko Pop Black Butler figures, it’s far from it. I think the cheapest figures went to Ciel and Sebastian, but with a massive gap between the cheapest Ciel figure versus the cheapest Sebastian figure (there’s a lot of listings for this particular figure, all with free shipping and of similar prices). There’s also a listing that sells Sebastian and Grelle together with free postage, which would value each figure as far less than what this one figure is being sold for.
The current conversions (of 130.22 GBP) go as follows:
172.00 USD
252.73 AUD
231.50 CAD
154.48 Euro
14,430.37 INR
5,874.98 Turkish Lira
273.31 NZD
24,865.90 Yen

Black Butler Grell Sutcliff Cosplay Costume Red Death Men Full Set Outfits New
I’m not much of cosplayer or a cosplay fan, but from the few full cosplays I found that range from £40-50, this seems like a good price.
There’s also a good few listings for Grelle-style shoes? The cheapest of which would be here. And both the shoes and the clothing come in men’s sizes, so it’s a match if you ask me.
The current conversions of the cosplay’s price are:
23.76 USD
34.92 AUD
31.98 CAD
21.34 Euro
1,993.77 INR
811.52 Turkish Lira
37.76 NZD
3,435.09 Yen

Kuroshitsuji Black Butler Madam Red Angelina Dalles Anime Figurine - Play Arts
Look. I know this isn’t a Grelle figure, but I assume that most if not all Grelle fans are also Madame Red fans. And you have to admit that this is a damn good price for a figure of this type. In fact, I’d say this figure is the second cheapest, right behind the aforementioned Ciel figure.
Also the seller has the username “welsh lady”. Surely it’d basically be treason if I didn’t promote it.
The conversions of the item price (6.99 GBP) go as follows:
9.23 USD
13.57 AUD
12.43 CAD
8.29 Euro
774.85 INR
315.29 Turkish Lira
14.68 NZD

USED Dolk Black Butler Book of Circus Grell Sutcliff Cast Doll 700mm Japan RARE
This is a fucking awful price. It hurts just to imagine buying this. However, it seems like a rare or custom-made doll, in a fancy box, and it was the only listing I could find of it, meaning it’s not a re-sell.
There’s not much to say — as you can see I ranked it pretty low on the relevancy scale, but I don’t know: maybe someone’s into this sort of thing, especially if it comes to Grelle.
The item prices are converted as follows:
2,805.52 USD
4,123.16 AUD
3,776.66 CAD
2,519.24 Euro
235,385.31 INR

1 x playing card Black Butler Anime Sebastian Michaelis - Jack of Hearts ZT 85
For one playing card, to me this price seems ghastly. There’s also a Sebastian variant for the exact same price, but that’s all I can find in this style. The other listings for Black Butler playing cards aren’t in this style, coming wholly in colour with patterned frames. As far as I can see, on eBay there are only two listings for this type of playing card, and I’ve already linked them both to this post.
The current conversions of the item price (2.49 GBP) are:
3.29 USD
4.83 AUD

Black Butler Ceramic Mug Grell, Sebastian
There’s a more expensive mug with just Grelle on it that I’d contemplated listing here instead. (And, hey! From Germany, too. The TSOGTR imagery just won’t quit.) But this one is cheaper.
Besides, enough scrubbing with some iron wool will get rid of that ugly demon mug (no pun intended) in no time, surely!
The current conversions go as follows:
19.62 USD
28.84 AUD
26.41 CAD
17.62 Euro
1,646.22 INR

What Are the Key Steps to Start a Profitable eBay Business?
Tumblr media
As other eBay sellers have demonstrated in the past, you may make a lot of money with an eBay company. We provide you incredible beginning suggestions for your eBay store if you're an entrepreneur and want to start one too.
Many people dream of working for themselves in the e-commerce industry since it sounds like an exciting and enjoyable way to make a living, especially for those who have their own online store selling handcrafted wooden figurines, plush toys, and other bizarre things.
However, disappointment frequently follows the initial in-depth investigation of the topic. Starting your own internet store might be difficult. It is also necessary to ascertain which online payment methods are available and if a Payment Service Provider ought to be linked into the shop, in addition to the question of which shop system is best. The founder is rapidly running out of room due to lack of a thorough IT background.
In order to facilitate the start into your own e-commerce business, it is advisable to use an existing solution that already covers all the essential elements of an ordinary on-line shop: your own eBay shop. About the auction and e-commerce platform eBay, it is possible without any technical know-how, to create online shop and successfully sell products to customers from around the world. As you open an eBay store, we’ll show you step by step in this article.
5 Steps to Open E-bay Shop
1. Setting up an eBay selling account
It is necessary to open an eBay shop to begin the process of creating an eBay seller account. Among other things, when you set up the vendor account, you have to
2. Complete the online payment form. PayPal
Make sure to log into PayPal if you haven't already! PayPal is a widely used payment method worldwide and serves as eBay's payment service provider. Offering PayPal puts you at a distinct competitive disadvantage since most eBay shoppers believe that PayPal is an online payment option that is accessible through your eBay store. PayPal registration is done directly through the payment provider's website, not through eBay.
3. Decide on and open an eBay store.
You may select the kind of eBay shop you wish to utilize for your online store after registering a seller account. making distinctions between top shop, premium shop, and basic shop. The many eBay stores vary in what services they provide and how much they charge. The cost each month ranges from around 25 to 200 euros. There might also be expenses associated with product setup and potential sales campaigns. The eBay fee calculator may be used to determine which eBay business is best for a certain user. After that, you may create your eBay shop by selecting a template that works for you from the selection of design templates, adding further information, and—most importantly—deciding on a distinctive business name.
4. Place the goods in your personal eBay store.
It's getting close to the end. Now add the goods you wish to sell to your eBay shop. To do this, the offer format must be selected: Select between an offer at a set price and an auction. There's still time to add categories for your eBay business if you haven't already. Include product information, such the book's ISBN or the quotation description, and attach a relevant image. Use extra alternatives, such subtitles or more photographs, to draw attention to your post.
5. Successfully close a sale
You received an email from eBay stating that your eBay Store has sold your first product. Best wishes! If the customer's money has been received, you should now act promptly and start the product shipment procedure. You can rate the buyer if the products are transported securely. When the things arrive as promised to him, promptly and undamaged, this will typically also help you gain a positive evaluation.
Open an eBay Store: Hints and Advice
You have a lot to think about if you want to start your own eBay store. We want to provide the most crucial advice with founders who want to work for themselves on eBay in the sections that follow:
1. Advice: The legal aspect of selling things through an eBay store should not be undervalued. Because his eBay business promptly warns you! You should be as waterproof as possible so that terms of a lawyer may be made in order to prevent warnings.
2. Advice: Exceptionally positive evaluations could serve as the main selling factor. Handle consumers like royalty by processing purchases quickly and providing honest answers to inquiries and grievances. You will find that it is worthwhile in the end!
3. Advice: While it might not be important at first, your eBay store's design could eventually aid with client retention. Choose a unique logo, then provide your clients with all the details they need to establish confidence. You should set yourself out from the competition with your eBay store.
4. Pro Tip: eBay offers marketing tools for his eBay business that help with advertising, foster consumer loyalty, and improve the optimization of e-commerce websites. For instance, you may establish time-limited special offers, apply quantity or accessory discounts, or use a newsletter system to notify customers on a regular basis about the most recent deals.
5. Advice: Use in-depth statistics and analyses that eBay gives you to gauge the performance of your eBay business based on sales data. In order to progressively improve your sales approach and establish yourself as an authority in the eBay shop.
6. Advice: You should sign in with your eBay store as an Authorized Dealer if you are selling brands directly from the manufacturer. The creator of branded products verifies that you bought the items from him and that they are authentic, acting as an authorized dealer. Customers will feel more confident as a result, which will boost sales and improve the SEO of your product page.
7. Advice: Get acquainted with the many tools that eBay and its partners offer; some are free, while others have a fee. These are essential if you want to sell an eBay store in a professional manner. This contains a range of connections to other applications and shop systems, as well as tools for maintaining item master data and creating offers.
8. Advice: Minimize shipping as much as you can in your eBay business. One has become accustomed to paying no delivery fees while using Amazon & Co. Please remember to include in shipping charges when determining your product's pricing.
Have you computed eBay's charges?
eBay imposes fees, while individual and business sellers pay different costs. There are variations based on the category as well. Additionally, the set price structure and auction format are distinguished. After the sale, there is the success-based sales commission and the offer fee. Information is available on the eBay page.
There are now just 12% or so sales potential. The Store subscription and PayPal fees charges could be applied. Remember that these fees are not very big. In most categories on Amazon, the fees are 15%, and there are additional expenses for shipping.
You should plan for that in advance and don't believe that running your own internet store would be free of marketing expenses. It is expensive to optimize for search engines, and the computation of those costs is quick for comparable percentage levels.
These are some fundamentals you should know about eBay.
Detailed Description for Improved Finding
It's critical that you make the product name as precise as possible so that the consumer can also locate them via tag. Self-congratulation or excessively descriptive statements like "Wonderful bracelet – great deal!" It scares that you should avoid!
2. Expert Product Synopsis
I just copy the individual text modules in the eBay ad and most of the original article descriptions that I locate online. This is quick, efficient, and of excellent quality. But it's crucial that you understand the situation as it is and perhaps even the reason the piece is being sold!
3. Quality Images
The picture of the piece is, at the very least, the second most significant selling feature after the product description. The picture should show the article and its outline. Selecting a background that highlights the item in the foreground is the optimal approach. To do this, you may even construct a lightbox with channeling just for little things. To help the buyer get an overall impression of the object, it is ideal to employ at least three distinct views: top, side, bottom, and view of details. Since I can submit articles straight from the eBay classified app within minutes, I now take practically all of my images on my phone.
4. The online circuit date
Thus, we have reached the online circuit time. This relies on whether you visit eBay during the weekend's peak traffic days and how high up on the hit list of classified listings you are. The most recent fixed offer is always displayed first on eBay ads. For my part, I prefer to spend a Friday night sitting down and occasionally utilizing eBay's offer, which pushes up the item to 1.50 euros.
5. The article's beginnings
You seem determined now, but this is VERY IMPORTANT! I write "give from who belive the God" beneath each offer. I have not heard back from nearly any of the buyers that I have spoken to that they pay attention to it. This rate unquestionably raises the likelihood of a sale when combined with a seller's location that is in a favorable region.
eBay's Advantages
As was previously noted, eBay's enormous consumer base is a valuable asset for you as a seller. You have a vast audience of prospective clients thanks to the large number of users. As eBay manages advertising and awareness, the seller experiences what appears to be continuous traffic from eBay. Soon after you launch your firm, you're exposed to a large number of global prospects who are interested in your offerings.
Acquaintance and beginning as a Purchaser
If you've never used eBay before, being a buyer is a great way to get acquainted with the site's features, diversity, and accessibility. As you become acquainted with the website, you should inspect the purchases, read the reviews, and provide some frank and beneficial feedback. As a result, your buyer rating rises, and when you eventually start selling yourself, you already appear to be a reliable partner.
Develop trust with customers
Whether you are selling online or in a physical store, developing a good rapport with your clients is essential. It is your responsibility to make sure your clients are satisfied and have a pleasant experience in general. If you don't accomplish this, not only will they stop being your customers, but their reviews, word-of-mouth, and ratings will also spread the word that you are not a seller. Therefore, after offering product satisfaction, make sure to answer questions from customers and give truly beneficial answers. This SEO approach for e-commerce websites is effective. Gain the confidence of your clients. Remain composed and supportive even if the clients don't look nice when they give you comments or complain. Offering returns and refunds for merchandise, unless it's an entirely unjustified situation, builds client confidence in your seller profile.
Outstanding Online Store Page
The majority of vendors on eBay are known to offer used products. Therefore, it's fine if the description and photographs are not as accurate as they might be. Despite this, seize the chance to deliver the greatest overview and impression of the product that you can. Possess excellent photos of the goods that accurately capture their texture and color characteristics. Include the description together with all the technical information.
Margin of Profit
Making money is the main goal of selling products online, so you need to make sure that's the case as well. You must account for all of your expenses, including the PayPal cost and the listing fee on eBay. Make accurate calculations and then choose the price at which you wish to offer the product, keeping in mind the prices established by your rivals. Study up on some e-commerce SEO tactics as well.
Inventory Control
As you think about it, you ought to have enough to satisfy their wants. To make sure that your supplies are sold suitably and not crumbling, you must have good inventory management.
Tips for Bidding
Starting with a cheap price attracts clients and, before you realize it, the prices have gone up significantly from what the first offer appeared to be. On ancient objects, however, this rule should not be followed as you risk losing a significant portion of the profit you may have made. Thus, setting a minimum price in advance is a safe method to proceed with bidding.

7 ways how to make money on the internet
Tumblr media
With this article, you will get 7 ways how to make money on the internet. Earn money on the Internet, that is the dream of many. However, self-employment often poses problems of various kinds. First of all, there is the question of how to make money online. Many who google the terms earn money online come across surveys, writing texts or becoming a product tester. My honest opinion is that it's not worth it, at best you'll only make pennies. Definitely more worthwhile, are orders, which are assigned by portals or private individuals. One speaks in this connection then also of a virtual assistance. In this article you will learn what is worthwhile to earn money online and how I managed to work as a virtual assistant in 2018.
1. What to look for if you become self-employeed and want to earn money on the Internet
Let's start with a very simple thing that everyone can implement, When you're cleaning out the attic or basement, you're bound to come across items that you no longer need or rarely use, but that can still be turned into cash. Especially eBay auctions can be helpful here, but also eBay classifieds are a good way to get rid of the old stuff. If you have a lot of books at home, you can sell them. Of course, you should be aware that you won't get much out of it, but it's still a few euros. At some point, used books are sold and here it could be worthwhile to start a store with eBay, since the entry barriers are not quite as high as with your own online store.
2. Become self-employed as a copywriter
Alternatively, another easy option is to become active as a copywriter. Especially in the beginning, the price per word is very low and ranges between 0.01 and 0.02 cents. Not exactly a lot, considering that an article often has to be researched and written. This also usually means that you only have a part-time job to supplement your household budget. The situation is different if you write texts for a private person and the price per word can be negotiated. Here are then often 5 to 10 cents, depending on how good your text samples are.
3. Amazon Kindle Business (Writing and Selling eBooks)
If you like to write, you can also sell your eBooks as an author on Amazon. I've tried that myself, the hard part is finding a niche where guides sell well. And of course you should ideally write more than one eBook. As an alternative to niche sites, the Amazon Kindle Business is still an interesting thing. Since you really only need MS Word or Open Office, your manuscript that you want to publish and the right niche. Most guides are priced between €1.99 and €5.99, but for starters, a promotion between €1.99 and €2.99 is recommended.
4. Virtual assistance
If you want to work from home, you can also work as a virtual assistant for someone else. This can involve a wide variety of tasks. For example, you could write blog articles or provide customer support, but there are also more creative tasks, such as designing online presences. Graphic designers often take on smaller tasks that can be done online, that can be done online, such as designing logos or flyers. Designing logos or flyers. Other tasks could include the design of online presentations or the editing of videos. Depending on the client, there are also different topics. Therefore, it is worthwhile to become active yourself, because job offers from online marketers are often mentioned in newsletters or on websites. These are also usually smaller tasks that can be done online. A big advantage, however, is that you can work as a virtual assistant from home and flexibly manage your time.
5. Start your own online shop
Today, an online store is at least technically no longer a hurdle, but as far as the legal aspects are concerned, in many respects it is. One of the biggest challenges is to plan enough start-up capital for an online store. Most of the time, larger quantities of the goods that you want to sell are needed and they also have to be stored somewhere. Many use their basement or garage for this purpose, others rent additional rooms. Having your own online store is a challenge in times of Amazon and eBay, but it can still be worthwhile in a niche market. It is important to create a unique selling proposition that makes your own online store special. This can be, for example, rarities or discounts for regular customers. You can create your own online store relatively easily with WordPress and the WooCommerce plugin.
6. make money with affiliate marketing
Most people who want to make money online sooner or later come across affiliate marketing. It is actually relatively easy with affiliate marketing to earn his first euros, if you know what it depends. Affiliate marketing comes in different varieties, especially easy is to earn money with niche sites. Because these are created once and can generate monthly income, provided that the niche is well chosen. To analyze the competition, there are different tools from Ahrefs and XOVI. However, it is known that for certain products also through Google search, an example here are notebooks or televisions. The niche is simply dominated by Computerbild, Otto, Chip and others. But as long as you have found a suitable niche and create the texts for it yourself or have them written, it is no problem to include banners and links from Awin, Digistore24 or amazonPartner.net.
7. create and market your own info products
The supreme discipline is, of course, marketing your own info products. If you know a topic particularly well and are an expert in it, you can, for example, create an online course or offer a members' area where you release new content every month. However, your own info products must first be created and prepared. A blog is a particularly good way to build up trust, for which you need an exciting topic, on which you regularly write something. To earn money with a blog, there are several possibilities, one of them is to market your own info products such as online courses. Read more about earning money with your own blog. Of course, you need both a landing page and a blog to draw attention to your products. Own info products offer the advantage that you can keep the profit for yourself. A few euros go to Digistore24 or PayPal, but the majority goes to you. But you are also responsible for customer satisfaction and support and of course for keeping the product up to date. A simple variant to publish online course is the portal Udemy. Although the courses are more strictly controlled, you will also be found online on Udemy.     Summary - 7 ways how to make money on the internet   It is definitely possible to earn money on the Internet. The easiest way is to offer your services through portals like Fiverr or Upwork. Mostly it is simple text work or tasks that a virtual assistant can do. Of course, you can become really successful with your own digital info products and coaching. Read the full article

Guide and everything you need to know to create and sell your own NFT files
What is an NFT? The word NFT comes from English, and means Non-Fungible Goods . That is, a digital asset that is unique.
It is a simple computer file that contains an image, a video, music, a document … any digital item can be converted into an NFT.
How can a digital photo, for example, be unique if infinitely many identical copies can be made?
Tumblr media
Read the news : NFTs have brought about a revolution in the art and collecting market, because now a digital drawing, a graphic, a meme, can be turned into a unique NFT by associating it with a blockchain, and acquire the same value as a drawing or painting. in physical.
Millions have been paid for NFT development company of famous memes , and even the inventor of the web pages has sold the original code as NFT, for more than 5 million dollars .
What is a chain of blocks or Blockchain? We have seen how an NFT is a computer file , which becomes unique by assigning it a key that is managed within the blockchain of a cryptocurrency.
The mining of each cryptocurrency or token is recorded here, as well as all transactions of those tokens, when they change hands.
blockchain The key feature of the blockchain is that for any transaction of your cryptocurrencies to take place, it must be approved by 51% of all computers on the blockchain.
This is what makes cryptocurrencies and NFT development services impossible to hack, because it would require hacking thousands of computers on the network all over the world at the same time.
In summary We have seen how cryptocurrencies are encrypted keys, which are managed in their chain of blocks or blockchain.
This chain of blocks has many different uses, apart from managing cryptocurrencies. For example, it also manages NFTs .
Cryptocurrency hardware wallet to cold store dozens of cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, ERC20 and many more.
Choose your NFTs The first step is to choose the NFT that you are going to sell. An artistic work pays well, but there are people who have become millionaires selling curious things, like women with long necks:
This is the software that a 12-year-old girl used to convert her drawings to NFT and win 1.4 million euros OpenSea
It is very common to make thousands of variants by mixing different parts ( eyes, hair, mouths ), using an app, and then sell them in batches.
There are even people who have become rich selling their own selfies , captured over the years:
NFT Market There are many NFT markets.
But there are many others that the specialized website The Motley Fool recommendations :
Larva Labs / CryptoPunks NBA Top Shot Marketplace 1.rallible 2.SuperRare 3.Foundation 4.Nifty Gateway 5.mintable 6.Theta Drop
Choosing the NFT market is important, because each one uses a certain block chain, and a certain cryptocurrency.
What cryptocurrency do I need? Most NFT markets use the Ethereum blockchain, so they use the Ethreum cryptocurrency . For example, Rarible uses the crypto call Rarible.
They all accept Ethereum for example, but maybe not some others Most use digital wallets , NFT Development services which are nothing more than an account on a certain specialized service. They are usually free, but they take a commission when you pay from the wallet.
Some widely used wallets are Metamask , Coinbase Wallet , Wallet Connect or Formatic . Buy cryptocurrencies Now that you have a wallet, check out the fees for selling NFTs on your chosen marketplace, and buy the cryptocurrencies you need to start selling.
Read the fine print well, because depending on the market they have abundant and strange commissions, depending on how you sell, how you publish, etc.
Binance
Upload your NFTs to the NFT marketplace
The service will guide you step by step. You upload the files containing your creations , and they convert them into NFTs, and put them up for sale on the market:
NFT Market They work in a similar way to eBay: you can put them up for direct sale, or in auction mode , to the highest bidder.
If you sell something, that cryptocurrency payment will be credited to your wallet , after deducting the corresponding commission.

Organising a destash sale is not going as well as expected - I have most reroots up on ebay bar the 4-5 latest with a bunch as bodied dolls for continental western eu only (Diva needs a 'head only plus clothes' entry on the heads listing for example, others can get neck grafts). Long rambly post ahead
But when i started pulling stuff out of the unsorted box or kon mari pile. Things got complicated fast: Trichelle 2 okay, LitDH Midge and stock: can she be sold as a head only or will people want the posable body? KawaiiQtee was put up for sale because I can't bond with her sister and I don't like lone dolls but that's a stupid rule. Same for project MC2 Camryn they can be loners together.
Rainbow high heads, i don't know if I'm going to click with them until they have eyes so that's Robin, Demaya, Gabriella, maybe custom Daria if lashes don't make us click. 4 more will have to get eyes and lashes and then I'll know.
4 skipper heads with modern fantasy hair: my modern repaint attempts are naf, do i fix their OG makeup or leave them as they arrived for others to turn into japanese prototype styles or whatever? What do you charge for a full reroot on a doll with a damaged face?
The Pinkie Cooper and fakies are over 4cm high so they can't be sent without the expensive colissimo.
On the other hand if you do get the expensive colissimo ($29 for 500g 1lb, $32 for 1kg 1.2lbs to the states, $15 for 500, 18 for a kilo to the UK) there's usually space for lots of extras.
I forgot to properly name the kon mari-ed hair photos with the saran names and put it all back (there was a good reason at the time).
I also need to make a table with the new 2022 prices in euro and dollars.
That's a lot of functions to execute on executive disfunction. Guess it'll just take time.

Is it wrong to ask where to get each of the bakudeku figures? Specifically nine! God I want all of them
Not wrong at all!!
About the specific figures in this list (link here: https://dekusheroacademia.tumblr.com/post/650343571130564608/a-list-of-bakugou-anime-figures-with-their-deku )
Number 9 is yet to come out!! It's this Bakugou and this Deku, they are scale figures (so more expensive than the rest) and I suppose preorders will come out pretty soon! They are amazing, I will definitely get them.
Also let me add to the list these amazing 3rd movie (movie spoilers for Todo Baku and Deku costumes): these are Ichiban Kuji which are basically lottery prizes, but they are usually resolde on ebay/auction websites later on for about ~50 or more euro.
The other in the list are:
1. Amazing heroes series by Banpresto, these are the cheapest figures and pretty good at the same time! That winter costume Bakugou is coming this autumn, while the Deku one just came out, but these are pretty easy to find.
2. Figma (they move!) these ones I have in bootleg form (bought them on aliexpress) and I found them cheap and of pretty good quality too. I don't buy bootlegs, but these ones were good!
3. ARTFXJ figures. These are scale (scale are usually more expensive) and I like the fact that Deku can have a secondary face but they are expensive and basically impossible to find now. Many figures are sold for preorders and then they are only resold at higher prices.
4. Ichiban Kuji figures of this series called 'Let's Begin', which are lottery figures. They are usually won by buying tickets and then people resell them, so they are not too hard to find on ebay. I actually saw a picture of someone who bought these and.... I kinda don't like them anymore now.
5. Revoltech!! These ones. These are the Revoltech figures of the series "The Amazing Yamaguchi". You can preorder the Deku one on Bigbadtoystore while the Bakugou one just came out, so you can find it around if not all pre-orders exhausted it, but there will be people who will resell him. These are action figures, and they move around and have a lot of pieces!
6. Ichiban Kuji (lottery prizes) of the series 'Smash rising'.
7. Another lottery prizes figures (these are pretty recent) of the series heroes vs villains! As usual, lottery prizes can be found on resold but are not usually too expensive.
8. MY FAVS. This is a goodsmilecompany's series of Pop Up Parade figures, of the series School Uniform. I have all four of them and they are adorable. Just check the website goodsmilecompany for their partners websites. But no counterfeit versions of this should exist so even on ebay and amazon they should be the real ones. I bought my Deku and Bakugou on Bigbadtoystore, and my Uraraka and Todoroki on amazon.
9. the one described at the beginning, the S-Fire scale figures, still not out for pre-order.
10. Ichiban Kuji (lottery) Fighting heroes
11. Styling series. But I don't know a lot about them. I think they are a bit too expensive tho for their "innovation" as there are many other figures that look like them
12. Colossesum figures. I actually liked these because they have half a mask! And they should not be too pricey
About figures in general and where to buy them
Regarding anime figures in general I suggest Myfigurecollection as a website to keep track of new pre-orders. Plus, if you add the figures in your wishlist and someone sells them (create an ad) you will get a notification. (also please add me!!)
Regarding specific websites I use: amiami and Bigbadtoystore.
In general here you will find a safe list of websites (on the right, retailers list). On the other hand, ebay, amazon, aliexpress are not always safe as sometimes bootleg (counterfeit) of a figure exist and these websites often has one. If you click on the Myfigurecollection page for a figure you usually can see if a bootleg exists (ex. for this nendoroid Deku there is a bootleg - look up at the red warning - , and if you look up the figure on ebay and amazon it's almost sure you will get the bootleg).
Not all bootlegs are bad! But bootleg nendoroids are pretty bad. I did find that bootleg figmas are pretty good actually. I know there are a lot of counterfeit of the cheapest figures (ex. the amazing heroes ones) and you can look on youtube to check their quality.

Pedals, Predicaments, and Pain.
I ordered a pedal off eBay way back in maybe late October/early November last year. It seems forever ago. Anyway, here it is:
Tumblr media
The Harmonic Perkolator. It’s a clone of the pedal Steve Albini used, sorta part of his signature sound from a certain era. Anyway, the seller looked like he was legit, an electronics tech or engineer in Poland. Some reviews said shipping took forever and there was little or very slow communication. Couldn’t be THAT bad, could it? Heh. Yeah, it could, it really could. But, the pedals all looked very well constructed, and he uses high-quality parts, and the designs are pretty damn good so I took a chance. I’m still not sure if it was worth it after all I went through just to get this pedal. First, when I tried to buy it, I got a “seller may not ship to Japan” warning. So, I contacted him, and he got right back to me, saying it wouldn’t be a problem, shipping anywhere in the world is just 7 Euro, no big deal, let’s do business. Right. That should have set off alarms. 7 Euro shipping worldwide? That shit ain’t gonna arrive no time soon. It probably came over by canoe or something. I didn’t get the fucking thing until January! Waiting, waiting, waiting, trying to get a tracking number, not getting a response for days, and even then it was something like “postal worker put wrong classification on package. Simple problem. You get package soon. I have this problem before.” And that was like the second week of December or something. Anyway, it FINALLY arrived and I was like goddam, about fucking time! But then I plug it in and fooled with it, running synths and an SG copy I have here through it, and the results were, well, not what I expected, to put it nicely— Fucking bullshit to say how I really feel. First of all, I don’t hear any real change by twiddling the Harmonics knob. Maybe something is happening, but the change is so subtle that it is almost unnoticeable. Then there’s the Balance knob, which may be an error, having been labeled as Balance when it really works like a Volume knob. With the Balance all the way counterclockwise, you get no sound at all. I contacted the seller about this around January 7th, and I did get a rather quick reply stating “I will write you tomorrow,” only to never hear from him again. And to add insult to injury, the timeframe for me to review the transaction has expired, it seems, so I’m stuck with this great-looking, very well-constructed pedal that doesn’t seem to work the way I thought it would. Moral of this story? Buyer Beware. It’s the age of the internet, I know, and I buy shit online way more than in actual shops, but in cases like this I really wish I had a shop to go to and demand a refund.
custompedals_pl is the guy’s eBay thing. I had a look and there are no more pedals listed. Maybe someone got tired of his slow shit and paid him a visit. Damn shame. I could throw the fucking thing on the auction here and maybe recover my loss, but who knows. Not a happy camper about this experience.
In other news, I have been slowly building a pedal myself, a clone of Death By Audio’s Reverb Machine. I started gathering parts way back in November, figuring I’d have time over winter break to build the thing but then I got the flu so there went that idea. Here’s the strip board when I was finished soldering components:
Tumblr media
The big black marketed out area is where I put the reverb brick. All said and done, it may have cost me about $60 plus half a day’s worth of soldering and wiring and carrying on to get this done. Here it is after I’d assembled and tested it:
Tumblr media
Not bad looking, and maybe I shoulda left it alone at that stage. But I like to fuck around with stuff and personalize things and make them my own, so I took everything out and broke out the mini-anvil (really it’s a 4-inch-or-so long slice of a train rail, or at least that’s what it looks like, and it weighs a goddam ton) and the letter punch set I bought for cheap off amazon, and went to work. Here’s the final result:
Tumblr media
Weird lighting because an LED light was on, so the pedal has a weird color cast going on. From left to right the knobs are Mix, Death (decay, but feedback past 12 o’clock, it will self-oscillate and very angrily at that), Angst (drive, which goes from bass-erasing at zero to mild boomy oomph around 9 o’clock, all the way to distortion from noon onwards), and <O> which came out like that because I meant to stamp VOL but had the fucking V stamp rotated so it came out < and I was like OH GREAT WORK DIPSHIT! But anyway. Fuck. The Day/Night switch is something like light/dark on the original. Day gives a bright, shiny reverb that has lots of initial reflection-like delays, which Night darkens it up a bit and in combination with the Death and Angst knobs can yield a really dark, long, creepy reverb. I quite like this pedal, and am super happy that I was able to successfully build it. I should mention that the original pedal doesn’t have a Death (decay) knob, that was a mod someone on tagboardeffects suggested. That site is well worth checking out if you’re even curious about building a pedal clone yourself. Fantastic resource.
And now for the pain part. The other day my submixer sort of shat itself. Yay! I was using a Mackie MS1402-VLZ that I bought used off the auction here a few years ago. It’s always been kinda finicky, with left/right balance issues, and a VERY touchy/temperamental AUX 1 Master knob (it fucking loses its shit if you touch it but will remain calm if left alone). It works still, but it’s getting to the point that I have to fiddle with things to get them the way I want them, almost like having to bargain with the mixer and reach a compromise. No more of that shit, I decided to sell it and in the meantime I bought a mixer I used a while back but sold when space became an issue: the Soundcraft Spirit Folio Si 18-2. Here it is:
Tumblr media
I’m not all that picky about mixers. I have a wee Yamaha that I use as a sub-mixer for drum machines. I use a Mackie ProFX12 as my main mixer. And I need a sub-mixer that can handle multiple stereo inputs, preferably with sliders for channel volume, and with EQ and at least two Aux sends on each channel. This mixer does just that. Honestly, I almost wish they’d released a version that didn’t have any mono channels, just stereo channels. But this one is as close to what I want as I can get. It wasn’t all that expensive either, so at least I was able to sort of get back up and running within a few days of deciding I didn’t wanna deal with the 1402 and its flippancy anymore. Hehehe. Ah and anyway the soundcraft mixer sounds good, it’s quiet, and the EQs are a bit different from the other mixers so there’s a bit of spice there that adds to the overall flavor, if you get what I’m trying to say. The other funny thing is that right when all this was going on I get one of those notices on FaceButt “three years ago...” or whatever and it was a photo of when I first got one of these exact mixers. Strange how things work out sometimes.

Fans complain of ticketing 'farce' for Euro 2022 final with touts charging 900 per cent mark-ups
Around 3,000 extra tickets were released for Sunday at Wembley, but supporters claim they were repeatedly thrown out of Uefa's portal
ByTom Morgan, SPORTS NEWS CORRESPONDENT27 July 2022 • 5:25pm
Fans complained of a ticketing "farce" for England's Euro 2022 final after some were frozen out of Wembley by touts charging 900 per cent markups.
Around 3,000 extra tickets were released for what is set to be a sell-out 90,000 crowd, but supporters claim they were repeatedly thrown out of an online portal due to gremlins in the Uefa system. The entire added allocation sold out by noon, leaving thousands expressing frustrations.
With Sunday's fixture the hottest ticket in town after the Lionesses's thrilling 4-0 semi-final triumph over Sweden, on Wednesday night black-market traders took full advantage. Face-value tickets of £50 are being sold at in excess of £500 on websites including eBay and LiveFootballTickets. In contrast, tickets for Sunday's fixture were initially being sold for as little as £15 when Uefa first released tickets.
The black market rip-off sparked hundreds of complaints. Many said they had registered for a so-called "priority access" system, in which England fans had been encouraged to register and provide their ID before joining a queue for tickets. Gordon Healis was among the hoards expressing dismay at difficulties with the system. "I got no priority access," he tweeted. "Not even an option to paste the access code - how can it be sold out if no one has been able to get a ticket? I've been trying since 7am!"
There were hundreds of messages complaining that extra effort should have been put in place to ensure young football fans and families get priority access to the match.
England supporter Hannah Shambrook wrote: "This isn’t fair. Tickets cost £15!!! How is it allowed? My wife got through before getting kicked out, we both joined at the same time, my bar barely moved… we just want 2 tickets, that’s all."
As Uefa then announced that tickets had sold out, another fan added: "If this is the case, why on earth am I still in a queue (red bar on the waiting room portal) - this whole ticketing business has been a farce. What a joke."
Another fan added: "Maybe [Uefa] could concentrate on sorting out everyone that bought a ticket to resell it on here for way more than face value now then? Some of us actually wanted to come and support our girls, but [it] seems most who have tickets only bought them to make more money!"
Uefa is 'totally against the illegal reselling of tickets and has said so numerous times' Sources close to European football's governing body said complaints about the system were typical of any sold-out event when demand outstrips supply. In response to tickets being illegally resold online, the governing body said it is "totally against the practice and has said so numerous times".
The sudden frenzy for the Wembley showpiece comes amid major pressure on the governing bodies and police to ensure any potential disorder is contained after hooligan chaos overshadowed last year's men's final between England and Italy. In a 129-page report warning lives may yet be lost unless action is taken, Baroness Casey warned Wembley authorities' "collective failure to foresee risk" had led to ticketless thugs leading scenes akin to a "medieval siege".
Sunday's final is on track to smash women's football television viewing records after a bumper 9.3 million watched BBC coverage of Tuesday's 4-0 semi-final triumph.
The victory over Sweden was the second biggest audience of all time, having fallen just short of the 11.7m who saw the Lionesses lose to the United States in the semi-final of the 2019 World Cup.
However, the current trajectory in viewing numbers, after a peak of 7.6m tuned in for last Wednesday's extra-time win over Spain in the quarter-finals, has left the broadcaster privately hopeful of setting a new record this Sunday.
Fans had also expressed confusion at Bramall Lane's normal capacity of 32,000 being reduced in the semi-final by around 3,500 seats.
"The slightly lower capacity is due to seats which needed to be removed in order to extend areas such as media working areas, broadcast partner studios including the TV presentation platforms behind the goal and seats in the corner that do not offer visibility to the pitch," Uefa explained in response. "There was also a pitch extension at both ends, which resulted in some rows being blocked for working access."
There is no such plan to reduce numbers at Wembley.

Snake-Themed Stim Toys
Hello! I don’t know if you accept submissions like these, but since I have no blog and I thought this might interest other stimmers, I decided to submit this. I’ve recently gotten a hyperfixation in snakes, so naturally I wanted to get some stim toys related to it, but I’ve had some trouble finding snake-themed stim toys at first glance (I mostly got results for snake puzzles or water wiggles, which are cool, but not what I was looking for, thanks). After some digging, however, it turned out that there was quite a lot, and I decided to make things easier for folks with lesser spoons by compiling a handy-dandy list of snake stim toys. I’ve compiled them by seller, and left out items that are more expensive than $30 (excluding shipping).
eBay
Snake Fidget Spinner 1 - US $4.99 (currently on sale) - free international shipping - a golden, tri-armed fidget spinner, where the arms are shaped like snake heads - also available in silver - also available in pink, but for 11.73 Euro with 2.50 euro shipping
Snake Fidget Spinner 2 - US $4.39 - international shipping for $0.22 - a bronze, round-ish fidget spinner, where snakes rise up from the center in regular intervals, breaking the otherwise round shape of the spinner
Snake Fidget Spinner 3 - GBP £1.95 - ships worldwide from the UK (not free) - a regular tri-armed fidget spinner with a yellow snake scale pattern - also available in brown for GBP £2.99
Snake Snake Chain Necklace - US $9.99 - ships worldwide from the US (shipping to Netherlands $14.00) - a snake chain necklace with a little snake head at one end and a snake tail on the other, available in gold, silver, and metal
Wacky Tracks Cobra Snake Bendable Fidget Toy - US $4.99 - international shipping for $4.99 - what appears to be a klixx-knockoff (note: I do not know if this makes sound) with a cobra head on one end and a cobra tail on the other; available in red/black and red/black/yellow

From 'dirty' to 'vintage': luxury embraces second-hand
Tumblr media
For years they were like cat and dog. Luxury brands did not want to know anything about the second-hand sale of their clothing and accessories. Too little control, too little exclusive, too much mothball smell. But that period is over now.
The best selection, at the best prices. That is the way the online platform for second-hand designer clothes Grailed[1] praises itself. Vinted[2], but for luxury designer brands, with a focus on men. In a new round of investment, the site raised about $60 million last week.
The major investor is the luxury group Kering[3], that is owned by the Pinault family. Balenciaga, Saint Laurent, Alexander McQueen and Gucci, among others, fall under the umbrella of the group. On Friday, Gucci also announced its new online concept store: in addition to new pieces, Vault also offers vintage, selected by Gucci designer Alessandro Michele. Gone are the days when luxury houses turned their noses up at vintage.
“Second-hand has always existed, although luxury houses have long resisted it,” says Emmanuelle Dirix, lecturer in fashion history and culture at the Academy in Antwerp. It is not illogical that large fashion houses did not want to know about it: brands that live on luxury and exclusivity were not set up with the idea that you could buy a 'real' design for less money.
In 2018, Chanel even filed a lawsuit against What Goes Around Comes Around[4]. The company, that sells second-hand clothing and accessories from luxury brands, lived on the reputation of luxury brands, according to Chanel. The brand denounced that counterfeits as 'true vintage' were also sold on the site – something that has been an thorn in the flesh of many luxury brands for years.
But the time when second-hand is 'dirty' is long gone. A younger generation that wants to buy brands is looking to second-hand online. The Realreal[5], Depop[6], Grailed, Vestiaire Collective[7]: online platforms for second-hand luxury goods have sprung up like mushrooms in recent years. A Boston Consulting study[8] estimates the industry's annual growth rate at 12 percent. In that context, the 3 percent growth of the 'normal' luxury segment appears to be small beer. Dirix: 'Simply put: if you can't beat them, join them'.
Fake
It also gives brands the opportunity to have more control over the second-hand sales of their own products. Grailed is working on an online authentication system, other sites such as Vestiaire Collective and Goat[9] work with 'specialists' who have to check items to prevent counterfeiting.
This is done by looking at the workmanship – so you need a small army of specialists – or by examining the labels in each item, where you can find out whether something is real on the basis of a type of 'serial numbers'. “But those databases are of course largely held by the brands, especially with older collections,” says Dirix.
More than that, it gives brands access to another market: young people who may not go to the Gucci store, but do buy brands online. Especially if it can be done cheaper. And even more valuable is that brands have access to a wealth of information about a younger clientele: what does a younger generation want, and which former pieces are worth dating up. Many sites such as Grailed are established for and by people who resell second-hand. That information is worth its weight in gold for many brands. Brands immediately adopt a new and greener image', thinks Dirix.
Surplus
Speaking of ecology, second-hand platforms are an excellent way for luxury brands to get rid of their unsold stock, Dirix thinks. Many luxury brands do not hold sales, for fear of destroying their own market. The only way to get rid of their surplus stock is through internal sales for their own staff – often with a maximum budget per employee, to avoid the clothing ending up en masse on the second-hand market.
Moreover, brands cannot and may not just destroy their unsold items. Especially since 2018, when it turned out that Burberry had burned $37 million worth of stuff in July that year, that has been monitored. In France it is even prohibited by law.
"I suspect that luxury concerns such as Kering may see a solution in this to get rid of those unsold items," says Dirix. ‘What is not sold now will be “vintage” in a few years. That might provide an answer to a very thorny issue for them.”
However, the prices on the second-hand sites are also not nothing: on Vault[10] you can quickly count 800 euros for a vintage Gucci. Dirix: 'Sites like Grailed aim at an audience that has enough purchasing power to buy a trendy vintage dress on a carefully curated platform. The site itself is almost already a “seal of approval”. These people are not fashion fanatics who feel like scouring tired second-hand shops or Ebay to find real gems for no money with a lot of patience and searching.'

Also, Indian Head pennies and old silver, and even some cutting-edge silver it really is not that antique, what's referred to as junk silver, however it's miles nonetheless silver, could be very famous. So, it truly is only a precis of twelve classes that promote nicely thru Internet auctions.
Of path you can sell thousands of different gadgets. All styles of books promote, for example, there may be no question approximately that. I've sold books and I've had 3 or four special agencies purchase books from me and resell them on eBay, Yahoo and other public sale websites. However, you must either purchase or print books reasonably-priced sufficient that you could ask for big sufficient reductions.
For instance, a £25 e-book might get auctioned off at £6 or £7. Now if you obtain it for £2, or published it for £2 it should not be a trouble creating a steady income. The profit margin is massive enough so as to walk away with cash on your pocket.

Eco’s Monster Castle: One Kid's Trash. A Grown-Up Man's Treasure...
If Speclatron’s Dethlor is the holy grail figure of MotU-KOs, then one particular playset is its castle. Eco’s Monster Castle! Probably the ultimate, and most delicate Castle Grayskull knock-off that you will find. Every MotU-KOllector knows what it is, but only a few have ever seen one in the flesh. Fewer have ever touched one, and only the fewest can call an Eco Monster Castle playset their own. From all MotU-KO playsets that verifiably exist, this one is the rarest, and most expensive one.
Tumblr media
Boxed Monster Castle sample, courtesy of fellow KOllector Mario “Spida” Garay.
I can remember the time when I bought my first Monster Castle (MC) as a collector about six years ago, for around 40 Euro. Shipped! I thougt 40 Euro was relatively expensive for what I got. I can also remember how I passed on a boxed sample at the Grayskull Convention in Germany one year later, in 2012. The seller was asking 100 Euro, which I thought was overpriced. I had no clue what was coming next! Three years ago, you could pick up a complete castle for 150 to 250 Euro, loose. Nowadays you need deeper pockets. 400 Euro for a loose, complete one can be considered a “steal”. I’ve seen loose ones selling for 700 and more. Boxed ones almost never show up. But the last one I know of sold for 1.200 USD in the Knock-Off Collectors Trading Outpost group on Facebook. It’s crazy what people are willing to pay for the “German” interpretation of Castle Grayskull.
Tumblr media
Wait, did I just say “German”? Yes! MC was manufactured by Eberlein & Co., abbreviated Eco, in Nuremberg, West-Germany. Not China, or Hong Kong, as you would probably think. The company was founded in 1938, and focused on plastic thermoforming in the 60s. They produced all kinds of plasticly things you need or don’t need in life. Store displays (!), blister packs, roof luggage racks, and also toys. Other famous items among KOllectors are their Moon, and Volcano Plates. Eberlein & Co. still exist, but they seem to have moved out of the toy business years ago.
Tumblr media
MC is often considered the official Sungold Galaxy Warriors playset. Mostly because the castle was advertised along with Galaxy Warriors figures on the original box it came in. I was actually trying to get more background info on this subject from Eco. But for some reason they’re not answering my emails. Probably because they’ve been flooded with inquiries from nerds like me already, ha! (“Ach! Schon wieder einer von diesen Spinnern!” *delete message*.) Anyway, let’s assume the obvious. Very likely Eco showed Sungold figures on their packaging because they needed a safe way to advertise MC as a 5.5" fantasy action figure compatible playset, and as a cheap alternative to the MotU originals. Simple as that! Other than Mattel, Sungold were unlikely to give Eco any trouble regarding copyright. Using MotU knock-off figures on their packaging was a safe alternative to the “real thing”! Maybe Eco even had a deal with Sungold. Maybe it was sort of an “official” third-party playset for the Galaxy Warriors line. We’ll probably never know for sure.
Tumblr media

Tumblr media
Both Monster Castle versions (regular to the left, lite-up version to the right), on display with Eco’s Volcano Plates. From my private collection.
If you look close at the MC box, where the Galaxy Warriors figures are pictured, there’s one particularly striking detail. One figure (Ygg) is holding the hellbard from the Castle Grayskull playset in its hand. How did it get there? Like John Coats has mentioned on his Galaxy Warriors blog, a possible explanation is that Eco (or whoever designed MC, and snapped the promo pic) had purchased a Grayskull for inspirational reasons. Its weapon lot eventually got mixed up with the bunch of Galaxy Warriors.
Tumblr media
I’ve also been wondering where Eco got the inspiration for that distinctive giant monster hand from. Also that nightmarish lovedoll-face keeps fascinating me. The combination is just too brilliant. What instantly came to my mind were classic 60s toys from Japan and Hong Kong, like the Creeping Crawling Hand, Frankenstein’s Hand, or the Coffin Bank.
Tumblr media

Tumblr media
The Coffin Bank, first made by Yonezawa Toys (Japan) in the 1950s. Pic courtesy of http://horrorpedia.com.
And that MC face? Well, a couple of months back I watched some classic Japanese kaiju flicks from my bucket list, and there it was! Daimajin, the Monster of Terror! A  trilogy of Japanese cult movies from the 1960s, about a giant stone samurai monster, “protecting” a small village and its residents against an evil warlord. Daimajin’s face bears alot of resemblance to the MC face indeed. Also the colors are similar. I assume the blinking eye and o-shaped mouth were added for two reasons. 1.) to add the popular image of the hungry ghost, and 2.) to conceal the obvious. It’s quite possible that the designer of Monster Castle was intentionally mimicking Daimajin, but didn’t want it to look exactly the same, to once more avoid copyright issues for Eco. I don’t think that the designer was German by the way. The fabrication of the castle took place in Germany, yes. But the true creator must have been from Asia. Not directly from Japan, but from a neighboring culture area that was more familiar with the concept of Japanese horror toys, and the Daimajin movies. I’d say the design of Monster Castle originated in the same area where those numerous Coffin Bank knock-offs and bootlegs were coming from. Hong Kong, the knock-off Mekka!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A MotU-KO playset, designed by some cheap hired artist in Hong Kong, and eventually produced in Germany, that’s definitely uncommon. But despite the design’s possible origin, MC was distributed within the German market and its neighboring countries only. It was never released overseas. This also explains the playset’s rarity. Besides its limited, local distribution, the castle’s fragility is another explanation. Simply not many units have survived the 80s. Not to speak of boxed ones. To be honest with you guys that have never seen, and don’t own a Monster Castle in the flesh, it’s actually the thinnest piece of plastic junk that you can imagine. Sad but true, the quality of this gem is complete shit! It looks, and feels like a vacuum pulled store display, but certainly not like a real 5.5 playset. But think about it, maybe it was intended as a third-party store display in the beginning, to promote Galaxy Warriors and other 5.5 action figures in toy stores! Probably designed, and sculpted by the same guy(s) in Hong Kong who also had created Sungold’s Galaxy Warriors! Then Eco decided to give it a real packaging, and turn it into a buyable consumer product.
Tumblr media
My first Monster Castle, purchased back in 2011, insta-buy on eBay for 40€ shipped!
Well, a thin piece of vacuumed plastic “Made in West-Germany” seems to be one thing. A playable alternative to Castle Grayskull made in the same country is another. Monster Castle is what it is, because the costs of a real 5.5 playset “Made in Germany” would have been way too high. It seems like in this case the much praised German quality did not prevail!
Tumblr media
Both Monster Castle versions on display with Underworld Warriors and Combo figures. Pic from my private collection.
Due to its poor quality, and strange look, I can imagine that back in the 80s Eco’s Monster Castle wasn’t a hit at all. Which might explain why the even rarer lite-up eye version of the castle exists. Eco were simply trying to pimp up a bad selling product with as less effort as possible. There’s also rumors that some castles came with a movable monster hand. A hand that’s not just hanging there, but that could be moved from the back. None of the castles that I’ve owned (it’s  been four so far), and none of the ones that I’ve seen had this gadget, though. Even not the boxed ones.
As much as I’m digging the design and concept of Eco’s creation, its quality is just disappointing. But only if you see it as what it not really is, a playset. If you look at it as what it really looks and feels like, a rare and fragile store display, it’s actually cool. Extremely cool. This still doesn’t justify the crazy prices it’s going for, but hey - that’s just my opinion, dude. Eco’s Monster Castle looks sick, super weird, and otherworldish. It’s a great addition to every MotU-KOllection, and every MotU-KOllector wants, and should have one. The only problem is that it’s extremely hard to find. I’d say even harder than all Speclatron figures combined. In a situation like this it’s worth every penny that KOllectors are willing to pay for it. Period.
But still, if Eco would just answer my emails, and see what the market is like today. Oh boy! They wouldn’t believe how one kid’s trash from 30 years ago can turn into a grown-up man’s treasure.
