Hot take: “equity”? Doesn’t mean anything. In the DEI corporatewoke speak sense. Unless you talkin about debt-offset ownership interests in commodities and firms, you’re just sayin a horse word. Matt Bruenig makes the point that there’s no difference between equity and equality, “equity” just contextually refers to a different metric of relative equality than equality viz income inequality. I suppose it could mean like an analogy with ownership shares, as in having “equity” in a community, but that doesn’t make any sense. “We’re devoted to an equitable future here at Lockheed Martin Foundation for Kids in the Hospital.” What is is, you can’t say egalitarian. Egalitarian is the correct term, but that’d commit people to implying that society ought to be egalitarian. And business world / the gruel lapping dogs in government who serve it, they don’t like that, cuz they’re about collecting equity. Start throwing around words that imply we live in a democracy with a social compact intended theoretically to make it so people can afford more than a meal a day and that crazy gay pink haired Great Reset stuff, you’re startin to sound a little like Chairman Mao!
