Kelly is the eccentric mob boss/gang leader, and Em is just an ex gang member turned single dad of three who turned his life around and unfortunately got roped ((cough guilt tripped)) into like a 50k debt to Kelly's gang by his baby mama/ex Kim. And keeps blowing off/fighting off all the collectors Kells sends until the blonde decides enough is enough and he is going to personally come whoop Em's ass and pry the money from his broken fingers or force him into some other illegal shit to slowly clear it up.

But, when he finally meets Em, and sees this short scruffy dude with a little baby carrier strapped to his chest he can't help but want to laugh himself silly. Because how, HOW can his men be so pathetic that they can't shake this dad down for money, obviously they're just lieing and being insubordinate- of course he thinks that until he actually closes in on Em and forces the other mans hand and finds himself knocked down on his ass. A shoe on his throat and this previously harmless looking man threatening to literally murder him if he doesn't back the fuck off and tell his boss to be patient.

It's love at first curb stomp 😩 Kelly is just immediately smitten. His interest spiking so high he can't help but turn into a giddy mess. The initial shock and realization that he's hard as a rock giving Em all the time to flee, but from then on Kells can't help himself. He's gotta hunt him down again. Excited like child who just found their new favorite toy, stalking Em and using his resources to learn every last thing he can about the other man. All leading up to when they can finally meet up again (and Em doesn't immediately escape him) and he can make his new offer:

Yeah. Em's not going for that. He aint a whore. But! Kells is quick to clarify that while yes, he's sure they could work out a hmmm, say, 5,000$ a night earning off actual sex but really he just wants the chance to woo the grumpy bastard of a man.
