I've been working on her for a WHILE (like, october 25th) but I'm happy to introduce a new egg oc (of debatable canonical-ness lmao)

Buttercup! the totally not eggnapped child of Ms. Lion and Mr. Wolf!

Her design came to me in a vision, and with the help of the wonderful @semifontos , this kid was made.

I'll talk about her story + some more doodles beneath the cut but I hope you all enjoy the wonderful baby Buttercup!

So I've established what the counselors' jobs are, right? They take care of eggs still in testing? In this particular instance (of debatable canon), Ms. Lion saw that in the current batch of eggs, there was a runt. Just a tiny little thing, small enough to fit in her paw. She knew that the egg wouldn't be able to survive testing for long, so what better option is there than going against everything you know, abandoning your job and your safety, and kidnapping a baby! In trope-y fashion though, She goes to Mr. Wolf's door saying she didn't have anywhere else to go. I was going to make a comic of this but I don't feel like it now >:P. Now Ms. Lion and Mr. Wolf are doing their very best to care for an actual newborn while on the run from the Federation (and their own feelings for one another)

OKAY MORE DOODLES TIME.

She's got this permanent squinty angry baby face for now. Like a husky with eyebrows. Despite her moody appearance though she's a very sweet baby that spends most of her time around strangers hidden behind her parent's legs.

She's bald for now, because she's a runt baby. Plus if I didn't get hair until I was 3 then neither does she :P

When she DOES get hair though, it'll resemble her Dad's fur more than her Mom's. That design isn't exactly final but her hair is a weird texture atm. Very untamable, like a puppy transitioning into adult fur.

anyways I and probably Semi too would absolutely LOVE questions about this kid.

Blyke in Season 3.

This is my prediction. With the way Season 2 ended, I think they’ll find Blyke months later looking something like this.

Shit happens to people in prison. Terrence was murdered in his cell, Rein was worried about being killed by other inmates, hell, Blyke’s already pretty banged up in the finale and he’s been there for 2.5 seconds. Not to mention that the Authorities seem to have no problem torturing kids *COUgh* Keon.

Perhaps it’s a bit pessimistic, but the story’s been getting a lot darker lately. I doubt Blyke’s getting out of prison without a little extra trauma at least.

30 second MS Paint self portrait but my director pointed out that i always start every meeting doing this and said that my energy is admirable and something to aspire towards. and i'm documenting this because i genuinely think a part of my brain is subconsciously being influenced by HIM

#horrible angle for the screenshot but it gets the point across #which. it is really funny they never really reanimated this intro beyond giving it color #i mean they do reanimate it for the 1938 season and onward because the previous iteration is scary. scary Porky. but i've always been so #focused on how the voice stayed the same that i never realized just how primitive the animation #particularly the motion is in itself #the ending pose which is the most memorable is fine but the actual motion.. the perspective is all wrong the effects are rudimentary #the drawings are spaced way too evenly and there are too many it feels stiff and floaty #and i mean i'm not knocking it but i'm saying this mroeso because it's fascinating #you can tell they were still learning and traversing this very new medium of animation #and the standard of animation rose so drastically throughout the years it's very funny they kept this 1937-1938 era animation tacked onto #the end of every LT (not Merrie Melody) up to mid 1946 or so which is such a drastically different landscape #i think the switch to color helped make it look fresher and newer but it is amusing to me seeing how primitive the animation is in comparis #n. anyway.

Does anyone know how Wolfwood's backstory (killing his abusive dad and then presumably getting adopted by Chapel right after) from the 98 anime came about? It's not in the manga, but I was wondering if Nightow had any input, if it was an old idea of his that got dropped, if it was completely made up by the 98 writers, etc.

#trigun #trigun 98 #i assume this was an anime only decision but the episode is so formative of how many see wolfwood and how his character came full circle #and the fact that chapel WAS his legal(?) adoptive father that was inarguably abusive #and that wolfwood started in life with an abusive parent #(no ms melanie/no orphanage/no childhood innocence)#so 98 wolfwood feels familiar but very different from trimax ww/tristamp ww #like being shown the world is terrible RIGHT FROM THE START and not getting any better... that's very formative #98 ww is arguably more open about how he came into this line of thinking and expressed it versus (i think) his other iterations who #frequently suffer crises of faith or simply stomp on their emotions until they're beaten down #putting on a goofy persona as vash does #i know i know “but wolfwood is an orphan” yes but he HAD a semblance of a happy childhood! he knew he was loved and others were capable #of loving him!!#98 ww just had a conga line of trauma with no one really “good” to look to for guidance/proof until... maybe milly/vash #kids as a whole do not count in this instance. like an actual person to show him that the world can be good.
