hey 😏
just wondering if you have anymore mer reader in the works 😏
also! i hope that your doing well!!
and can i be 🌕 anon? :)
You can absolutely be 🌕 anon! And, I do! Here's the final installment of:
Human!Damian x Mer!Reader
Part 9
Masterlist is Here!
"I'll need everyone's attention before we continue into the next exhibit, please."
Damian's voice is clear but firm, no room for argument in his tone, and his tour group all quickly quiet down to watch him. He rewards them with his well-practiced Customer Service Smile, nodding once.
"Thank you," he says. "This final exhibit is the pride and joy of Gotham Aquarium: the Mer tank. I can already see hands raised, and I'll open the floor up to questions in a minute. We're going to cover the rules first."
He holds up one hand, raising a finger as he goes.
"Rule number one: absolutely no flash photography. Take as many pictures and videos you want, but you have to leave the flash off. Our mer's eyes are sensitive to highly-focused levels of light, and you could temporarily blind them. Rule number two: do not knock or beat on the glass. It is several inches thick and reinforced, but you can still startle and disturb the mer. Rule number three: please...please stop flipping off our mer. They've learned to mimic their handlers and some of the guests, and it took weeks to make them quit it. If I see a bird, notice a flash, or catch you banging on the glass, everyone will be asked to leave."
He drops his hand, looking at every guest expectantly.
"Got it? Everyone say yes, Damian."
"Yes, Damian," the crowd echoes back, a mixture of amusement from the adults and excitement from the children reaching his ears. He gives them another practiced smile and reaches for the door.
"Great. Then step right in. Fan out and look around as much as you want. You can ask any questions now."
"How long has Gotham Aquarium had the mer?" One adult immediately asks, examining the seaweed on the bottom of your tank.
"Almost two years," Damian replies. "The anniversary of their arrival is in a month. We've got a small party planned to celebrate."
"What's the mer's favorite color?" A child asks him, gently tugging on Damian's pant leg to get his attention. His smile becomes more genuine.
"Green," he replies. "They love green things. I see your hair clip is green. They'll probably stare at you when they come out."
The little girl gasps, eyes wide. "Really!?" She turns and runs to her dad. "Hey daddy! The mer likes green, and my hair clip is green! The mer will like me!"
More questions come that Damian answers with ease. He paces along the floor and casts his gaze upward, examining all the little ways your tank has been changing overtime.
Your rock collection has grown substantially since Damian started painting more for you. He gives you a new one every day, and you have them proudly scattered all along the floor to decorate your enclosure. You've also taken to moving your seaweed around; instead of one, big stretch of it to hide and sleep in, you've uprooted it and made it into a series of little hiding places. He can also see some weighted toys lying around that one visitor asks about, happy to explain how you use them for enrichment.
"When's the mer come out?" Another one asks, leaning against the glass. His eyes are practically glazed over from disinterest. "Is it sleeping or something? These tickets were like forty bucks and I'm just staring at rocks and water."
There's a loud thud against the glass behind him. The man yelps and whips around to find you with your hands pressed against the wall, eyes wide and teeth bared as you stare right at him.
"Oh, shit!"
Damian sighs, but he's smirking. You love startling unsuspecting guests; it's your second favorite activity. He watches the others flock to you once they realize what happened, and you perk up and examine them all with a much more pleasant smile.
"Daddy, I can't see," the girl from before complains. Her father gently hoists her up onto his shoulders, and you immediately take notice.
You push off from the glass and swim around the edge of the tunnel to examine her as closely as possible. You tap one claw on the glass, then gesture to your head, and the little girl gasps and beams.
"They see it!!! They see my hair clip daddy!!" She chirps. She tugs it off of her head and holds it up for you to see better. Your pupils widen and your tail swishes gently back and forth, deeply intrigued.
"Obviously, this is our mer," Damian speaks up, and he tells them your name. "Their breed is found in shallow, fresh water. They thrive in warmer temperatures, and they're very rarely alone. You can typically expect them to travel in pods of at least three, though more commonly up to six or seven."
"But Gotham Aquarium only has one mer?" A guest asks, while you make playful grabs for the clip to no avail. "Aren't they lonely, then?"
"There was a big adjustment period for them when we first acquired our mer," Damian nods, "but they have a dedicated team of caregivers that ensure they aren't lonely or bored. They've bonded with several of us very well. Even though they recognize that we don't live underwater, they still see us as pod-mates."
"How long did it take to bond with them?"
"Great question," Damian says. He watches you give up on snatching the clip and start swimming around the tunnel to examine the other visitors. "It took them about ten months after arriving to learn to trust me. We started off slow: I would use a remote-controlled robot to deliver their buckets of food and then dump it into the water. Then I would enter the room where the top of the tank is, and hand it to them with a long pole. Then I got rid of the pole and set the bucket on the lip of the tank, and stood back while they retrieved it. When they got used to me being around, we started working on small tricks."
Damian lifts his hands, wiggling his fingers to catch your attention. You lock eyes with him and give a knowing nod, swimming up until you're positioned directly above him. He waves his left hand clockwise, and you swim in slow, clockwise circles. He waves his right arm next, and you switch and start spinning counter-clockwise.
"This is all done humanely and voluntarily, of course," Damian explains while the guests watch on with rapt attention. "If there's a trick they don't want to perform, they simply won't do it. We don't force them into doing anything, including coming out during tours if that's not what they want. Some days they just aren't up to saying hello, and that's fine."
He drops one arm and uses the other to make a broad waving motion. You mimic the action. He points at one of your toys, gesturing for you to grab it and bring it over. You glance at the one he wants, then ignore him and decide to go back over to the little girl and admire her hair clip some more.
"As you can see, they like shiny objects, especially if they're green. They've got a small collection of aquatic-safe objects in their hideaway. All breeds of mer tend to have hoarding tendencies, and ours is no different."
Damian gives the group a few more facts about you and your general behaviors, answers some more questions, and then inevitably has to call it when the same guy complaining about ticket prices decides to photograph you with the flash on. You flinch and rub your eyes, then dart away out of sight.
"All right, everyone, please come this way," he calls, in that cordial but no-nonsense tone again, and holds open the door. "This concludes your tour of Gotham Aquarium. Please exit this way in an orderly fashion."
"Aww.."
"Nice job, jackass. We were supposed to be in here for at least twenty more minutes."
"I didn't think he was serious! I forgot to turn the flash off, so what!"
"That was kinda cool. Sucks we couldn't stay, though."
There's a tug on his pants again. Damian looks down at the little girl, who fidgets nervously.
"Um...is the mer gonna be okay? Are their eyes hurting a lot?" She asks. Damian knees down to her height and offers her another smile.
"They'll be fine," he promises. "I personally check on them every day. What's your name? I'll tell them you said hi."
"Um!" The girl blushes, eyes wide. "It's Rosie! Thank you mister!"
"You're welcome, Rosie. I hope you had fun today."
"So much fun!" She agrees, then turns to her dad and reaches up to take his hand, walking out of the tunnel. "Daddy, daddy! When I grow up I wanna take care of mers, too!"
"Okay, honey," her dad chuckles, "but you're gonna have to do your homework if that dream is gonna come true."
"Aw, man!....okay. I'll do my math sheets for the mers..."
Once the room is cleared, Damian closes and locks the doors. He hangs around just long enough to ensure no stragglers try to swing back around, then drops the Polite Tour Guide persona and heads for the staff elevators with a scowl. It's a matter of minutes before he's in the locker room, swapping out the Aquarium polo and khakis for his wetsuit and then trudging into your tank entrance.
"Rule one!" He complains to Jon, who is already sitting on the lip of the tank and filling a puzzle cube with treats for you. "No flash! It's the first rule, and someone breaks it almost every single day we're open! One day I'm going to hit my limit for these witless miscreants and start punching people."
"So, tours didn't go super well I take it," Jon says, not even sparing him a glance. He's heard different versions of this rant at least five times and doesn't react to it anymore, having quickly come to understand that Damian is just Like That. "You gonna go do the eye exam already or should I call my dad? Y'know, the actual vet?"
"He's never as thorough as I prefer. You know that. Also: shut up, who asked you?"
"You're a joy and a delight to work with, Wayne."
Damian ignores him and grabs a rebreather and situates it over his mouth, ties the bag of eye equipment around his waist, steps up onto the edge of the tank, then dives. The water swirls around him, an all-encompassing and welcoming pressure. He starts pedaling his arms and legs, headed for the direction you sped off at the end of the tour.
He finds you in the middle level of your tank, about a floor down, curled around an underwater tree limb and rubbing your eyes. You squint at him when you notice his presence and trill, the water vibrating slightly around you.
Damian quickly goes to work, pulling out one tool at a time to check on your eyes and how well you can see. You're perfectly fine, just annoyed, but he considers having his father enact a total ban on any cameras in the tunnel when tours come by. Just because you're fine now doesn't mean it'll stay that way every time.
He points upwards, to the surface, and you nod. You take his hand and pull him along, your powerful tail carrying him faster than he ever could on his own, and soon you're both above the water and treading it calmly.
"Welcome back!" Jon grins, waving your puzzle toy at you. "Refilled this for ya. Your record for getting all the treats out is six minutes. Think you can break that today?"
Your eyes narrow and you reach for it eagerly. You can smell the squid and shrimp tucked into each compartment, which are your favorites; absolutely you will be getting those out in six minutes or less.
Damian pulls himself up to the lip of the tank and both boys watch you poke, pull, and prod at the components of the puzzle box. It's not long before you're collecting your spoils and eating them triumphantly. Jon checks his timer and notes that you beat your previous record by over a minute and a half.
"Are you surprised?" Damian huffs. "They're brilliant. They could learn to do just about anything with enough time and practice."
You preen, chittering your agreement. That's why Damian is your favorite caretaker; he's never doubted you since getting to know you, not ever.
He did forget something, though. You toss the puzzle box back at Jon and make grabby hands, face expectant.
Damian immediately clears his throat and looks at Jon, cheeks turning the barest shade of pink. "I need you to go and fetch the shears. The vine growth on the middle level of the tank is beginning to obscure vision and easy travel."
"You didn't bring them with you?" Jon frowns. "Dude. They're all the way on the bottom floor in the maintenance closet. It's gonna take me like twenty minutes to get back here."
"Then you'd better make haste."
"Why can't you do it?"
Damian scowls at him. Jon throws his hands up and climbs to his feet.
"Fine! Haven't gotten my ten thousand steps yet anyway," he grumbles, heading for the door. "Don't play hide and seek without me! I've just gotten good at finding spots I can fit in!"
You chitter and chirp, amused, then focus on Damian again once the doors go your enclosure snap shut.
Damian faces you, the pink in his cheeks worsening. He fiddles with the bag tied to his waist and avoids your gaze.
"I, ah..." He starts, working his jaw in thought. "The girl whose clip you liked. She says hello. Her name is Rosie."
You blink, waiting patiently for him to get to the point.
"I was asked about how you've adjusted to life here without pod-mates. I told them you have a pod in us. That you're not alone here despite being the only one of your kind in Gotham Aquarium." Damian swishes his feet slowly in the water, following the same rhythm as your tail. You drift a little closer.
"And you've adjusted very well, Princess," he continues, voice turning soft. "I can't thank you enough for giving me a second chance to care for you. I want you to know that it means everything to me."
Damian meets your gaze again, and there it is. There's that pair of gorgeous, emerald eyes you adore. You drift even closer, resting your palms on the backs of his calves, and smile up at him. He smiles right back.
"You noticed I don't have another rock for you," he says. You nod. "It's because I didn't bring you a rock this time."
You frown, huffing. Damian chuckles.
"You know I kept the scales you gave me," he admits, recapturing your attention. Your eyes widen, heart starting to pound in your chest. Was he about to give them back? You didn't want them back. "They're beautiful, Princess. I keep them in a jar in my bedroom, and I look at them all the time. They make me happy every time I see them. I wanted to give you something like that in return."
Your heart pounds faster. It sounds like he's about to do what you've wanted from him for what feels like forever. Your grip on his calves tightens, wide eyes searching his own.
"I don't ever want you to doubt how much I care about you again," Damian says, pulling your gift out of the pouch on his waist.
It's a beautiful, emerald pendant on a gold chain, the jewel the same shade as his eyes. You're immediately captivated, reaching up with a trembling hand to cradle the necklace to your chest and admire it more closely. The gentle, rippling water of your tank reflects against the surface and makes the shine of it seem to undulate all around you. It's the most wonderful gift you've ever gotten.
"I hope... I hope that you'll accept this token of courtship," Damian finishes quietly.
You look up at him with tears in your eyes and trill loudly enough to make his ears ring. You tug frantically at his legs and he obediently slips back into the water, letting you wrap your arms around him and squeeze tight, tight, tight. He squeezes you right back, resting his chin on top of your head.
"I love you," he mumbles into your hair. You warble it back as best as you can, nuzzling into him, then lean up and gently press your lips against his. He presses right back, shivering but not from the chill of the water.
Jon finds the two of you like that when he returns with the shears twenty minutes later. He just sighs and rolls his eyes.
"First of all, finally. The will-they-won't-they drama was killing me. Second of all, you could have just said you wanted a moment alone, dude. It took me forever to find these! Do the vines even need trimmed down?"
Damian just smiles and hides his face in your shoulder. They don't.

But i do also wanna request a jealous reader to james or remus, I'm genuinely curious as to how they'll handle that and what will they do to satiate reader
Thank you, sweetheart! Love you <3
James Potter x fem!reader ♡ 2.1k words
James looks especially sightly today, his brown skin gleaming in the sun and hair stuck slick to his forehead. He’s shirtless, which is always a treat, muscled abdomen sometimes distorted beneath the pool water and sometimes slipping above, inadvertently teasing, and his shoulders look especially strapping with Lily’s pale thighs seated atop them.
You really like Lily. You’re quite disappointed in yourself, actually, for the hot flash of malice that goes through you when she burrows her manicured fingers in your boyfriend’s hair, laughing about losing her balance. James moves his grip from her knees up to her thighs, promising he’s got her. Something foul and warmish curdles in your gut.
On the other side of the pool, Sirius and Remus advance like a totem pole with two wildly different faces, one menacing and the other reluctant. They’d asked if you wanted to play chicken, but getting pushed and shoved by Sirius isn’t your idea of a good time. You figured you’d be more content here, sitting on the edge of the pool with your feet kicking idly in the cool water, but now you can see how it does sort of look like a couples activity, Sirius atop Remus’ shoulders and Lily on James’. It’s no secret that James had pined after Lily for years. It was back in their school days, before you met him, but it’s been brought up a few times in a teasing way that’s made it clear to you that everyone knew how he felt about her. You wonder if Lily ever thinks about it. If she’s assured, consciously or not, that she could have him back at any time of her choosing. It’s not something you love to dwell upon.
The pairs are fairly evenly matched. Sirius fights dirty, splashing water up at Lily and trying to unhook one of her knees from around James’ shoulder, but Remus can’t be bothered to participate and looks like he’d be just as happy to be pushed over and call it done. Lily, meanwhile, isn’t as creative a fighter and is only shoving at Sirius’ shoulders, but James provides a strong base. His fingers dig into the soft flesh of her legs, calling up encouragements and occasionally freeing a hand to pinch upwards at Sirius’ side. Sirius shrieks and swears at this, claiming that it’s against the rules. Eventually, Remus gets tired of supporting his boyfriend’s weight and feigns a fall back into the water. Sirius squawks as he goes down, and Lily and James cheer and high-five before he helps her dismount with far more grace.
You clap and smile like a good girlfriend. James beams as he swims over to you. Sometimes looking at James’ smile at full capacity is a bit like looking at the sun, and you feel like you need some special glasses to gaze directly at it. This is one of those times.
He takes your calf in his big hand and leans his cool cheek on your warm knee and makes you feel like the most special girl in the world, and you can’t stop thinking that Lily probably knows this exact feeling.
You make extra sure to be nice to Lily on your way out later that evening, guilty and vexed with yourself for the way you’ve been thinking about her. James waves a friendly goodbye to the group as you both step outside.
Instantly, his arm is around your shoulders, pulling you into his warmth. James was prepared for the nighttime chill, pulling a sweatshirt out of his bag as soon as the sun set, whereas you’re in a tank top and shorts that have grown damp from your swimsuit. You lean into him gratefully.
“Did you have a good time today?” he asks.
“Mhm.”
“Yeah?” He tilts his head a bit, looking down at your face. “You seemed a bit off.”
You shrug. You should have expected James would notice. “I guess I just wished I’d participated more.”
He makes a contemplative humming sound. “You don’t mean that you think people didn’t want you to participate, right? They love you, angel, you know that.”
“No, I…” You want to say I know, but you’re worried you’ll sound conceited. You never usually second-guess yourself like this around James. You sort of hate it. “I just didn’t realize that if I said no to playing chicken, Lily was going to be your partner instead.”
He’s quiet for a second. Something in your gut twists uneasily.
“I thought you liked Lily.”
“I do.”
“Are you jealous?”
“No.”
You answer without thinking, because whatever you might be feeling right now, you are not a jealous person. You won’t be that kind of girlfriend. The breeze picks up, and goosebumps prickle down your arms, making you shiver.
“Are you cold?” James asks.
You know he’s going to want to give you his sweatshirt, and you really can’t be taking things from him right now. “I’m alright.”
“You know you’ve got nothing to worry about with Lily,” he tells you, thumb brushing softly over the skin of your bare shoulder. It should be reassuring, but suddenly you’re thinking about how this same hand looked so comfortable wrapped around Lily’s thigh. You step out from under his arm, crossing your arms as casually as you can against the chill.
“I’m not worried,” you reply.
James looks perplexed, and also a little dubious. The thought of him not believing you, even if you are lying, fills you with a burning indignation.
“I just don’t see why you had to be touching her so much,” you say. “You could’ve looked a bit less eager.”
He actually laughs at that, but the look on your face stops him quickly. “Sorry, but did you really think I looked eager?” he asks, a little smile still teasing the corners of his lips like you’re a child he has to talk down from a fit. “That’s just part of the game, sweetheart.”
The way he says it, sweetheart, suddenly feels less affectionate and more like a placation. Condescending. Heat builds behind your eyes, and you realize with horror that you feel like you might actually cry. You’ve never felt so distant from James. Not even when you’d first started dating.
You pick up your pace, staying ahead to keep him from seeing your face. “You didn’t have to touch her legs so much,” you huff.
“I was keeping her from falling off!” he laughs, incredulous.
You roll your eyes. James lengthens his stride to catch up to you.
“So let me get this straight,” he says. He sounds more serious than before, which you thought you’d wanted but now you’re not so sure. Your heart trembles. “You wanted me to throw the whole game to just avoid touching my friend’s legs?”
“She wasn’t always your friend,” you remind him.
“Yes, she was.”
You don’t know how to respond to that. From a factual standpoint, he’s not wrong, but you know that Lily was more than that in James’ head for quite some time. He can’t boil it down to something so simple.
The silence stretches out between you, ice-thin and just as cold. Then you shiver again, and James sets a hand on your shoulder. It’s only there for a second before he retracts it, as if unsure what he’s allowed. Your heart throbs.
“You are cold,” he says, and his tone is doting teetering on the brink of accusatory. He grabs the hem of his sweatshirt. “Here, have—”
“I don’t want your sweatshirt,” you say sharply.
James pauses. “Why not?”
“I just don’t.”
“Sweetheart, you’re cold.”
“So what?” You cross your arms harder, trying to hide your trembling under the guise of general agitation. “That’s not what we’re talking about.”
“What are we talking about?” he asks you. “How I let Lily sit on my shoulders as part of a game and now I’ll surely leave you for her?”
Even as a joke, it stings. “Would you?”
“Of course not!” His hands spread out in front of him, helpless. “What do you want me to do? Should I just never be friends with another girl again?”
“No, it’s not—it’s not that.” Your eyes burn. You’re frustrated with him for intentionally missing the point, and frustrated with yourself for needing his reassurance in the first place. “I just want to know that you’d pick me over her.”
“I have!”
“You didn’t pick, James.” Your breathing is starting to sound ragged. The words taste acidic in your mouth. “She picked for you.”
“Angel, that was ages ago.” James softens his voice, likely hearing the tears in yours. “I don’t see her that way anymore. She was right, we wouldn’t have worked together.”
“But how can you know that?” Your voice breaks just as a harsh shiver goes through you, and you wrap your arms more tightly around yourself.
“Alright, that’s enough.” You don’t have to turn around to hear that James has stopped walking behind you, his footsteps halting. Reluctantly, you slow in response but don’t turn around, waiting to see what he’s doing. “Come here.” When you don’t move, his voice hardens into a tone you don’t hear often. “Come here.”
You turn around, more curious than anything, and James has taken his sweatshirt off. He tugs it over your head before you can say anything.
“James!” you protest, squirming, but his hold is strong. He manages to wrestle one of your arms into a sleeve before he seems to decide that’s good enough and leaves you be.
“Quit being so stubborn,” he says, still in that same tone. You stop trying to get the sweatshirt off, hands dropping to your sides. James has never been so stern with you before. You don’t quite know how to react. “You’re freezing, and your hair’s still wet. There’s no sense in suffering through it just because you want to have a row.”
“I don’t want to,” you tell him, but your words sound petulant even to your own ears.
“Then listen.” He takes your jaw in hand, setting his eyes on yours. “I do not want to be in a relationship with Lily. I thought I did once, but I don’t anymore.” He waits a second, making sure this sinks in, before his voice softens. “I’m going to be friends with girls. That’s just…that’s the way I’ve always been. But I’m with you because I’m happiest with you, and this isn’t going to work if you don’t trust me.”
You nod, suddenly flooded with self loathing. A tear skids down your face when you blink. “I’m sorry. It’s not about…I do trust you, I promise. I don’t know what’s wrong with me today.”
“Honey,” James murmurs. The tear lands on his index finger, and his face pinches like it stings. “Listen, if I saw some guy with his hands all over you, I’d—”
“In a bathing suit,” you add tearfully.
“With his hands all over you in a bathing suit,” he amends, “I’d probably be upset too. But you’ve got to tell me these things, you know? If you’d brought it up at the time, I could’ve told you I don’t feel that way about Lily and maybe you would’ve had a better afternoon.”
“I didn’t want to be the jealous girlfriend,” you admit. “I really do like Lily, I didn’t mean to accuse either of you of anything.”
“I think…I think some amount of jealousy has to be normal,” James says, brows bunched pensively even as his finger strokes at your cheek. “We’re each other’s, you know? It’s just letting it get in your head that’s the problem. If you’re thinking I’d pursue someone else while I’m with you, that doesn’t reflect very well on me.”
You shake your head, leaning away from James’ hand to wipe your nose. “I don’t really. I know you’d be—you’d at least be nice about it. You’d tell me.”
Pain etches itself into the indent between your boyfriend’s brows. He takes your face between both hands now, looking into your eyes determinedly. “I love you,” he says, bending to press a firm kiss between your brows. “Understand?”
You wrap your arms around his middle, pushing past his face to tuck your head under his chin. “I love you too.” Your voice is ardent if a bit wobbly, tears that feel more like a reaction to a past fright than anything else still moving sluggishly down your face. “I’m sorry.”
“It’s forgiven, sweetheart.” James’ big palm comes to rest between your shaking shoulder blades, scrubbing up and down firmly. “Let’s get home, yeah?”

“Where’s Mom and Dad?” Jay asks while walking down the stairs. Some of their family helpers awaits him by the end of their long grand staircase.
“They left for a business trip, young master.” their head maid was the one who answered him. Jay sighs in dismay and gradually headed towards the main door of their mansion.
“Young master, how about breakfast?”
He rolled his eyes as his driver almost stumble to catch up on his pace. “I don’t want to eat all alone.” he spat coldly then heads to his service car without saying another word.
His drive towards their school is quiet. He tried to look out to the car’s window to divert his attention and ease his upset mood. This isn’t a great way to start his week. If he lets this affect him too much, his whole week is already ruined.
As their car parks right at the vacant slot on their school’s parking lot, his phone rang. He picks it up without checking who it was.
“What?”
“Where you at, dude? We’re here by the field.” it was one of his friends, Jake.
He sighs, “I just arrived the school. I’ll be there in five.” he lazily says.
“Okay, hurry up!” and he ended the call.
Jay rolls his eyes and his driver opens the car door for him. He went out and hangs one of his bag’s strap to his shoulder before walking to the direction of the field. He was planning to stop by the locker’s but since his friends demands him to go meet them, he have no other choice.
If people will be asked to describe Park Jongseong—also known as Jay, they will surely say that he probably have everything. Money, good looks, talent and influence. But that’s just what people see. They’re actually right. He’s handsome and the only heir to his parents' successful travel agency that have a lot of branches around the world.
There’s only one problem. For some reasons, despite having all these things and powers, Jay seems to feel empty. Like there’s a part of him that is missing that no other things can fulfill.
He already found a solution for that problem tho... And he will do everything in order to have it— more like her.
“Took you long enough.” Sunghoon stated as he walk closer to where they’re sat. Heeseung’s by the corner, eyes fixated at his phone screen. Jake’s in front of them and Jungwon’s beside him.
“What’s so important that we’re gathering here early in the morning?” he asks lazily then yawned. Sunoo rolls his eyes before focusing on Jake once again.
“Sunghoon will be executing our plan next week.” Jake announced that instantly drains Jay’s sleepiness. His senses starting to be more active as his friend walk them through the whole plan once again. Just to make sure everything will go smoothly.
“Oh yeah? Do you need help with anything?” Jay glances to Sunghoon’s side and he saw his friend’s relaxed look on his face.
He shakes his head, “Everything’s ready.”
He nods his head and continued listening to what Jake's saying. His friends are all quiet and just made sure they’re taking notes of the things he was asking to check before next week.
“There you are!” their heads snapped at the side when one voice interrupts. Jay’s brows raised at the same time at your familiar pretty face as you slightly pants after making at the bench where they’re gathered.
You sent Jay glares before glancing to the two boys standing near you, “I’m so sorry to interrupt you, Jake and Jungwon.” palms resting at your hips while panting to catch your breath.
“It’s fine, y/n. What’s up?” Jake smiles warmly.
You raised your hand and directed your pointer finger towards Jay.
“Him. I need him to come with me.” your words rings through Jay’s mind, almost making him space out completely. Some of his friends snickers chuckle secretly at how funny his reaction was.
“Jay?” Jake astounded tone made you glance at his direction. His eyes big and confused.
“He has detention and he skipped it yesterday.” you announced that made Yang Jungwon— the student council president sigh in disbelief.
Jay shrugs his shoulders off and eyed you with a small grin on his face. Your glares turned sharper as you think of many ways to end him today. He’s seriously giving you a hard time. You joined the student council for the extra points and stress is what you’re getting lately because of him.
“All right, he’s all yours.” Jungwon says and even laid his hand to the air, indicating that he’s letting you take his friend.
Jay snorted and stood up voluntarily. A playful grin plays through his sexy thin lips, “You heard the man. I’m all yours.” and he even sent you a wink.
Your cheeks blushed instantly, but you don’t make it too obvious. Instead of thinking about it too much, you swat his arm then drag him to your building. He chuckles, totally unbothered and didn’t even complained about it.
“Just admit it, y/n. You like me, don’t you?” his taunting tone made you halt your steps, ears turning red.
“Do you think I’m crazy? I don’t like you!” you hissed at him.
His smirk fell that caught you off-guard. Your face turned pale when you saw a glimpse of his eyes cold while staring at you. It was very odd. Jay’s always mischievous and always the one teasing you. He’s never been like this.
“You sure about that?” his serious tone sent direct chills to your spine, making you nervous.
“H-Huh? What’s with you...” you stuttered.
He stared at you silently for a bit more before he suddenly burst out laughing, making you furrow your brows. You stayed silent, not saying anything. You’re stunned and confuse to what’s happening.
“Did I scare you?” he continued laughing, even folding while holding his stomach that seems to start hurting from laughing so much.
Your face turned red out of anger and your hand quickly hit him by his arm. He groaned and caress it gently, eyes shooting glares at you.
“You’ve been hitting me too much lately.” he commented that you tried to ignore and started walking ahead of him.
Jay chuckles again and tried to catch up which you responded by acting like as if he’s not there. His grin grew wider at how you’re acting. He reaches for your arm and you tries to shove it off. He fails to grab you on the first two tries, then the third one his grip is tight.
“What?” tone sounding a bit annoyed.
“I thought you’re taking me to detention?”
“Your detention is later after class. I fetch you to help me grab our textbooks at the faculty room.” you cannot keep your stares that made him grin even more.
“Do I make you nervous?” he asks.
You pursed your lips and looked at him with a flashing guilt in your eyes. He suppress himself from laughing loud to prevent making you feel more embarrassed. He sighs and licks his lips.
“Let’s go, I’ll ignore it for you.” and he slide both of his hands inside his trouser’s pocket before walking towards the direction of the faculty.
Your gaze bore onto the back of his head, mind slowly spacing out. People around you often says how you two can never get along with each other. It is true. Most of the times, you two are arguing. But what other people doesn't know is that you secretly likes the bad boy, Park Jongseong.
“Saw you with Jay a while ago.” you sighed and looks at (friend name) smiling meaningfully at you.
“Don’t even start...”
She laughed, “Come on! I seriously think he likes you back. Why not confess?”
She rests her back at the railings of the corridor while you stand facing it, watching the field beneath you filled with students either playing soccer or trying to kill time until their next classes.
“It’s not that easy.” that’s true. Jay live through the days knowing that always you despise him. With how stingy you act around him, he probably have no clue. He will surely tease you to death once he knew his feelings for you. That’s honestly the last thing you wanted.
“Hmm, I know.” and your friend let out a heavy sigh.
This time, you smirked and raised an eyebrow at her.
“You basically indirectly confessed to Park Sunghoon. Almost everyone in the school knows about your feelings.”
She lets out a strained sigh and threw her head back to stare at the blue clear sky. Her pretty face is so admirable, something you can’t just miss if walking pass by her. Just like what you said, its not really a secret that she likes ‘thee’ Park Sunghoon. He’s one of Jay’s good friends and very popular with the girls as well.
“Yes. That’s so awkward.”
You stared right at her, “Why do you like Sunghoon so much?”
She glances at you, “Hey, what do you mean by that?” and she push your shoulder jokingly.
You made face, “It's just Park Sunghoon is so cold. He seems so mysterious.”
She chuckles, agreeing.
“And mysterious guys often have many secrets. You never really know.” its not that you’re being a bad friend of trying to be a kill joy. This is just you looking out for your friend, your best friend.
“That’s what I love about him.” she says bluntly, like a natural response.
It made you roll your eyes and act disgusted by it. She fights back with rolling her eyes as well that made you both giggling. Your vacant hours are perfectly spent talking about nonsense stuff, jumping from one topic to another.
Everything’s going smoothly, not until one morning. You woke up into the noise of your phone continuously ringing. When you stir from your sleep, leaving your dreamland completely, and glances at the wall clock. It’s just 4 am in the morning.
“Hello?” you answered your phone half-asleep, still dozing off a bit.
The muffled cries from the other line was like a slap that strips away the sleepiness. You momentarily pulls your phone away and checked the caller’s id. Seeing your friend’s mother’s contact instantly made you sat up from your bed.
“Auntie? What’s wrong?” you asked worriedly and reaches for the lamp beside the bed.
“Y/n...” she starts. Her heavy breaths and nonstop sniffing made you aware of how she’s crying so hard. Her strained voice is very obvious as well.
“(Friend name) is missing.” the line was clear and her words, despite being a little off, were clear. What doesn’t register to your system is what she’s trying to say.
“What do you mean missing? Hold on, Auntie.” you stood up and quickly grabbed your jacket to keep yourself from freezing then hurriedly head out.
“She didn’t come home last night! And I called your mom to check if she’s there, she said she didn’t came to your place.”
Your brows narrowed down and you saw your Mother on the phone, talking to somebody. When her eyes caught you, she signalled that she’s talking to someone important.
“Ah yes, she said her daughter didn’t come home last night... Yes, officer.”
“Mom is calling the police, Auntie. We’re going there, okay? Please calm down. I’m sure she’s all right. She probably just went somewhere and forgot to inform us.” you tried to console her while your head started to unconsciously list down places that you can go to.
After the calls to some of your Mom’s friends and the police, the two of you headed to her home to comfort her. A police car was already parked outside of the house and one officer is by the door, talking to your friend’s Mom.
Her tear stained eyes darted at you and quickly, you embraced her.
“Shh, Auntie. It’s going to be okay.” you whispered as your Mom continued talking to the officer because your friend's Mom are currently at her best state to talk.
“I’m so scared, y/n! What if she’s in trouble?” she cries hard on your shoulder that breaks your heart.
You tried to act strong in order not to make her feel down even more. She trembles in between your hug and you caress her back to somehow make her feel better.
“I'm sure she will show up. We will find her.”
Only, you didn’t. It’s been a whole week ever since your friend disappeared. Day by day its getting worst for her Mom and for you. She’s your best friend. You cherish her and she’s like a sister already. Not having her around made you feel so empty.
“Hey,” your head lifts when someone approaches your table.
It was Jay.
Usually he will have his mischievous grin, but not now. He have this soft, worried gaze while looking on you. He kept his stares, watching closely as you try so hard to pull a smile for him.
“Hi.” you greeted shortly.
He licked his lips, “I’m so sorry about (friend name).” he says that you answered with a nod.
He gestures the vacant chair beside you, asking if he can sit down and accompany you. Normally, you would decline and curse at him but a part of you wanted his presence so you nodded. He sat down quietly, eyes still darted at you.
“Any updates?” he asks.
Your eyes dropped at the stacks of missing posters in front of you, sitting at the table. A beautiful smiling picture of (friend name) printed on it and a big red ‘MISSING’ below.
“No. The police only have one person as their witness and its totally not helping.” your tone sounding so down, hopeless.
Jay sighs and rested his large hands on your back to caress it. Your eyes instantly waters, the tears you’ve been holding back starting to show. With lips slightly shaking you glanced back at him.
“J-Jay, I’m scared...” you admit, first time showing him a vulnerable side.
He was speechless, but you can see through his eyes that he’s so worried for you. He’s been noticing how you’ve been neglecting yourself ever since your friend disappeared. And its making him so sad.
“I’m so worried for her. What if something bad happened to h-her?” your voice cracks and eyes brimming with tears.
Jay was quick to console you.
“Hey,” he whispered with his softest tone then cupped your face, making you face him. “We will find her, okay?” those familiar words are the same ones you’ve been repeating to your friend's mom ever since she disappeared. Constantly repeating it to convince her and also to convince yourself.
Jay pulled your body closer to him, caging you into a tight, warm hug. Something you really needed at the moment. You cannot put into words how grateful you are that he’s there for you.
Ever since your friend vanished, things started to get messy. She’s been your comfort person and with her missing, its like you’re losing your mind.
You felt Jay’s lips on your forehead as he whispered comforting words.
“We’ll find her?” Jay stares right to his reflection at the bathroom’s mirror. He scoffs to himself, muttering low curses while washing his hand.
“How can we find someone who is not even really missing?” he mumbles and his gaze lifts as one of the bathroom stalls opened, revealing one of his close friends.
“Jay, man.” Jake and walks near the sinks to wash his own hand.
“You need to stop talking to yourself. People will think you’re crazy.” he grins teasingly at Jay and he just frowns.
Another stall opens and Sunghoon walks out from it, eyeing their direction.
“He is really crazy, tho?” he commented that earned a bark of laughter from Jake.
Jay clicked his tongue, “That’s big words from somebody who kidnaps a girl because he likes her so much?”
Sunghoon seems unbothered about his statement. Not just because it was true, but because he thinks its nonsense to argue with it. He just shrugged it off and smirked at his friend.
“You’re going to do it soon too, tho?” and starts washing his hands as well.
“Yeah, Sunghoon’s right.” Jake commented.
Jay whips his head and diverted his attention to his other friend. “Actually, you’re the crazier one.”
Sunghoon’s grin grew wider and just listens to his friends that are starting to bicker like little children. Jake complains, totally disagreeing about what Jay said.
“What? No, I’m not!”
Jay scoffed, “Really? Is it not crazy to put his girl inside a psych ward just because he learned that she’s leaving him?”
Sunghoon whistles, “I have to agree on that one, dude.”
Jake glances at Sunghoon, a hint of betrayal flashes through his eyes.
“For the record,” he starts and they look at him with eyebrows raising while waiting for his defence. Jake licks his lips as he tries to come up with a good comeback to what Jay fired at him.
“Fine!” he hissed, “And so what if I put her in ward? At least I’m sure she won’t be able to leave me, even if she wants to.” the smug smirk on his face is wide.
“Should I put mine in the ward too? Do you have a vacant room?” Sunghoon chuckles while asking that question to Jake.
“Yeah, we have vacant room for you as well.”
Jay laughed and watch how Sunghoon swat Jake’s arm. They soon decided to walk back to class. His eyes darted at your direction right away and Jay’s heart cracked at the sight of your sad face.
After class, Jay offered to help you with the missing posters and you’re very thankful for him. Their group of friends has been doing a lot and you couldn’t be more greatful. As far as you remember, none of them are personally close to you or your friend, but still with big hearts they offered to help.
While heading back to the building to get your things, your eyes unconsciously darted at one of the bulletin boards. From a distance, multiple papers are pinned to it. But one stands out the most, at least for you.
Your eyes trailed over to the tall figure that stands in front of it, staring right at the missing posters of your friend that you’ve placed their a few days ago.
The boy is very familiar to you. His fair complexion, uniform looking so neat and face looking so blank. You slowly head his direction and stood a few feet away.
“Terrifying isn’t it?” you said that caught his attention. From the corner of your eyes, you saw that he whips his head to the side and look at you.
“Do they have a lead?” he asks, almost sounding like a monotone.
That’s the first time you and him talked. Being in the same school together for years, this was the first interaction.
“Yeah, they said someone saw her being taken on her way home.” you answered.
An emotion flickers through his eyes for a split second, but it was impossible to tell what it was. He kept his blank face, eyes icy cold.
“I hope she will be found soon.” he stated.
His words are nice. It's the words you wanted to hear from most of them and you’ve heard that a lot of times already. But for some reasons, Sunghoon’s words felt empty. It slightly caught your attention. Then you realized that he’s always like that. Quiet and reserved. He’s not called the ice prince just for nothing. And so, you tried to just shrug it off and thanked him silently.
He was about to leave when you grabbed his hand. He turns his head to look at you and it made you feel on edge. His eyes are so intimidating.
“Here, in case you see her.” and you handed him a poster.
It maybe a bit stupid knowing he probably have a copy already since its been distributed to the whole school. He accepted it without any word then left. Your eyes lingers to him and watch how he walks away.
A small smile spreads across your face. “Come back now, (friend name). I can’t wait to tell you about how Sunghoon seem to worry for you.”
“So what did the detective said? Any updates?” your hand halts from holding your chopsticks because of Jay’s question.
It’s been a month ever since your friend disappeared and you grew closer with Jay. All the time, he was there to support you and comfort you.
“What?” you asked, glancing at him whose now enjoying his food. He slurps over his soup before throwing you a short glance.
“About that new detective (friend name)’s mom hired.” he repeated himself.
You stared at him without saying any word. That same emotion that you’ve been pushing at the back of your mind for weeks now. Jay’s been very nice ever since the disappearance of your friend and he fills the absence for the mean time, making sure you aren’t being too hard on yourself.
But it may sound nonsense, lately you’ve been noticing odd behavior from his friend group. Or you can say you’re sensing this weird vibe from them.
It may appear because they’re a different league that’s why, and that’s whay you try to convince yourself with. But something really doesn’t sit right for you.
Example for that is this...
How did Jay even knew about that detective your friend’s Mom secretly hired recently?
“Why are you looking at me like I’ve killed someone?” Jay chuckles awkwardly while placing an opened bottle of water in front of you.
“How did you even knew about it?” your tone sounded really curious that caught him off-guard.
He curses inside his mind, quickly thinking of a good escape to this mistake. Despite the slight panic, he tried hard to compose himself in order not to be too suspicious..
He scoffed, “What do you mean how did I know? Of course, through you.” he kept his stares to your eyes.
It made your brows narrowed, head tilting over to the side.
“Me? I told you about it?” you sound unsure about it, recalling and backtracking any past events where you might’ve mentioned it to him.
“Yes, baby.” he laughs, relieved that it shaken up the tension a bit. “What’s up with you? Seems like you are really stressing yourself too much.”
You stayed silent for a while before smiling.
“I guess you’re right. It might have slipped off my mind.”
He nods and slides a new side dish near you, “You should eat more.” he diverted the topic smoothly.
The tension dissipate and just like normally, you two went on your day. He kept talking about this place he’s been with his parents and how much he wanted to take you there this weekend to help you relax a bit. You tried so hard to listen, dismissing that negative thought off of your mind.
But it didn’t. Instead, it made you more observant over his group of friends. Giving meanings to every normal or little things they do.
“I’m on my way home now.” you said through the phone while going out from the bookstore.
Jay’s on the other line, calling to check on you after hanging out with his friends. According to him, practice ended earlier so they decided to go have fun.
“All right. I’m also near my house. Call me once you’re home?” he says softly.
“Hmm, take care.” you hummed.
“You too baby, i love you.”
Your heart races, mixed of emotions occupies you. These days, after being suspicious of him, your feeling starts to get shaken a bit. It made you realize how much you still don’t know about Jay.
After spending a lot of times together, you still barely know him. Except for the fact that he’s Park Jongseong, the rich bad boy from your school who happens to have feelings for you all this time.
“Y/n?” he calls you lightly that snaps you back to reality.
“Y-Yeah?”
“I said I love you.”
You gulped, “I l-love you too.”
The other line went silent for a while before you heard Jay’s gentle hum. He always does that whenever he’s satisfied hearing you say those words to him.
Before its also felt so good whenever you say it to him. You meant it with all your heart, but right now, you aren’t sure anymode. You still love him, after all you’ve been interested to him for a long time. It’s just, a mix of fear envelops those feelings.
Your eyes then caught the person you’ve been waiting for hours already.
Park Sunghoon.
“I’ll call you later, Jay.”
“Okay, stay safe.” he says in a low tone and ended the call.
Today, you made a bold decision to tail Park Sunghoon. He’s on your top list of suspicious people that are potentially involve to your friend’s disappearance.
He walks towards the bus stop and you can tell from the way his shoulder’s hanging low, he’s dead tired. Probably because of practice and hanging out with his friends.
You tried not to be too suspicious, making sure your presence is not noticeable. But Sunghoon usually don’t care about his surroundings. He just mind his own business and go on with his life. If he’s not involve or any of people he’s close with, he does not care.
As you approach him closer, you noticed him pulling out something from his pocket. At first, its so hard to tell what it is. But once you get a clear view, your stomach drops and heart felt like it stopped beating. Head empty as your feet moves on its own.
“W-Why do you have that?” you couldn’t help but to stutter and fear consumed you when he whips his head at your direction.
Sunghoon’s face remained emotionless. He doesn’t even look guilty at all or caught off-guard by your presence. It was like he was expecting it, like he knew you were there, following him.
“This is mine.” were his words.
Your eyes remained looking at him with such horror, tears brimming. With trembling lips you shake your head.
“N-No... that’s (friend name)’s! I gave it to her! My granda made that.”
You can’t be wrong. It’s impossible to have the exact same handkerchief. Your granda personally made that for you and your friend.
He took a step closer that made you instantly step back in fear. You roamed your eyes around and her heart fell at the sight of the bus stop being totally isolated. It is already a bit late and so there are a few people here. It's just the two of you.
The thought of being here with the possible reason why (friend name) went missing scared you to death.
“W-What did you do to her?” your tone sounded so accusing as your fist balls to prevent it from shaking. With clenched jaw, you gather all the courage to look over his deadpanned face.
He was just caught red handed but he seemed unbothered at all. He approached and caught (bestfriend’s name) off guard. She hit him with her bag and he was stunned for a moment.
You just caught him red handed, but he seemed so unbothered. He took a step closer that caught you off-guard and made you hit him with your bag. Something got caught with his gym bag and when you look down, your favorite keychain lays beneath his feet.
“Where is y/n?! Give her back!” you tried screaming through your lungs, hoping that someone may hear and help you.
And someone did. That person slowly and quietly looms closer, taking advantage of your full attention being on Sunghoon to take action.
Sunghoon turned his head towards you and you can’t describe what you felt when you met his cold dark eyes, “You will never find her, no one will.” and with that, he advanced making you scream in fear.
“Quiet, baby.” from your back, an arm hold you still, tugging your body closer to theirs. His free hand then went towards your face to cover you with a cloth, that slowly took your consciousness away.
Even before you can react and try freeing yourself, Jay’s familiar face came into your view.
“Shh, its all right. I’m here.” his whispers are muffled as everything slowly became black.
Sunghoon slid his hands inside his pockets while watching Jay fixed his hold on you. Eventually, a familiar black SUV parked near where they’re at then one of Jay’s men went outside to assist him.
He carries your unconscious body easily then carefully placed it inside the SUV. Sunghoon was just there, silently watching. His eyes roams around to check if there’s anybody to witness what they’re doing.
“Perfect.” Jay whispers and pants with a smile.
He closes the door to their car and glances at Hoon, still standing by the bus stop. He nods his head with a thumbs up that his friend only nonchalantly responded with a nod.
After Jay went inside the car and drove off along with you. Sunghoon trudges towards the bench when he stepped on something. He looked down and saw your keychain that fell off a while ago.
He sighs and picked it up. He stared at it for a while and realized that (friend name) had the exact same keychain. A small smile appears across his face, remembering you. His head perks up after hearing the arrival of the bus and as he walks towards it, he unconsciously slides the keychain inside his pocket.

Hers
She came home for safety, familiarity, to find her way forward but instead, she found herself more lost than when she’d arrived.
It was only supposed to be a week. Sure, Kate thought it would be difficult to be back in the field but she hadn’t anticipated this. She hadn’t anticipated him. It shouldn’t matter. She had a job in New York, a life, a stable, safe job, her own apartment–everything she needed. But was it everything she wanted?
What Tyler had said crossed a line but that didn’t mean it wasn’t the truth. It was just something she probably already knew, deep down, and hadn’t wanted to accept. She was running away from the storm but she should know better than most that it would always catch up.
With an aggravated sweep of her arm, all of her past research was on the floor, pages floating around her before finding a place to land. She almost immediately regretted the mess but it had felt good. For the last five years, she’s avoided risk but now it almost feels hypocritical to say that she misses it.
Kate bent to gather the papers but only grabbed a few before stopping at her Cloud Physics notebook which had fallen open to a familiar page. She sat down in front of it and traced the impressions of her writing on the pages. It was too much to retrace her steps, to consider what had gone wrong. She needed to get out of her head and she couldn’t do that without getting out of this damn barn.
She knocked lightly on the kitchen door so as not to startle her mom. Being an adult, Kate felt an aversion to putting these things on her mom. Her mother had always been supportive, even when knowing her daughter’s passion was actively putting her in danger. Maybe she just didn’t want her mom to repeat the same sentiments as Tyler but she also knew she wasn’t about to come to any decision without some guidance. Just like seeing her middle school science project again, she felt like a child standing in the kitchen.
“Kate?”
“Yeah, it’s just me.” She sighed and pulled out the chair at the dining table that had always belonged to her. The smell of whatever her mother was stirring made her stomach grumble. “Where’s Tyler?”
“Oh, he drove pretty far so he’s getting cleaned up.” Kate could tell her mom was trying to sound uninterested, maybe for her sake but still she asked, “What’s his story anyway?”
“He’s just some internet star from Arkansas,” She explained, picking at a stain on the table. For a moment she thought about leaving it at that but the fire he had lit in the barn was still burning inside her. Sardonically, she added, “He’s made a living as a so-called ‘Tornado Wrangler’ but so far he’s only shot some fireworks into a cyclone and nearly killed the reporter signed on to cover him and his team.”
Her mom chuckled and replied, “Sounds like a man looking for a thrill to me.”
Again, she felt like a child relaying the latest gossip from the schoolyard but she couldn’t help but continue.
“And his whole team is this ragtag group of people who’ve never been to school for this either!”
“I see.”
“I mean sure he’s studied meteorology but they could get seriously hurt.” Kate had busied herself by fiddling with a napkin she’d pulled from the homemade holder. The shreds of it were getting smaller and smaller. “They’re no professionals.”
Her mom hummed, acknowledging her annoyance but countered with, “Well he doesn’t seem too bad to me, he did drive all the way here.” Although her mother graciously spared her the ‘for you’ that they both knew completed that thought, she felt its weight. It was easier to make him seem unlikeable than tell her mom that it was her that was in the wrong.
“You’d believe me if you saw the shirts he sells, his face all sprawled across them.” Kate laughed, thinking of the cheesy slogans. It wasn’t lost on her that she had assumed the worst of him. She thought back to what Lily had said and felt ashamed. “Though,” She conceded, “the money does pay for food for the aftermath survivors. They were handing it out at the last town we were in after the tornado hit.”
“Not all bad then?” Her mother turned fully to face her and Kate knew her teasing expression said all she needed to know.
“I guess not.”
_ _ _
Dinner had been passable, if not enjoyable. Kate had figured it would be awkward, that the dynamic between her and her mom would be offset by Tyler’s presence but it had flowed easily. The only gripe she had was that her mother had gone over her head to invite him to stay the night. In her ideal world, she would’ve ushered him out right after dinner saying a quick thanks for his concern but sending him on his way knowing that she’d never have an obligation to speak to him again.
Tyler had, of course, helped her mom with the dishes, leaving her to watch awkwardly so as not to take up unnecessary space in the small kitchen. She’d shot him a tight smile as he’d excused himself to his room for the night.
“Well,” Her mom said from the doorway, “I’m off to bed. Shut the lights, will you?” She didn’t wait for an answer as she made her way past the living room to her bedroom.
Kate tapped her fingers sporadically against the table, the sound echoing in the quiet house. She hadn’t been fully present for dinner. Every time she looked at Tyler she could only think about what she was doing wrong, what she was missing. As much as she resented the fact, there was no way she could make peace with the past couple of days if she didn’t get in another word with him.
She flipped the last of the switches off and made her way up the stairs, avoiding the ones she knew were extra creaky. At the landing, Kate considered just going to her bedroom but her feet kept their integrity and trudged her towards the guest room.
Her hand was poised to knock when the door opened.
“Kate?” The sound of his voice combined with the unexpected image made her jump. Whatever she had been prepared to say had left with her surprise but Tyler was already speaking again. “Listen, what I said in the barn was out of line I shouldn’t have–”
“No you shouldn’t have…but you weren’t wrong either.”
Stepping back, he opened the door a bit more and though it wasn’t quite an invitation. It was a line she wasn’t sure she wanted to cross with his apology and her admittance the gist of what she’d hoped for. She promised herself that if he didn’t try to say anything else, she’d just turn around and walk away. He bit his lip, seeming to wrestle with something the same way she was.
“What’s the story behind you and Javi?” The question surprised her and she felt a vague excitement about his interest or rather the fact that he was interested at all. But the story itself was not something she was sure she could share.
“We met in college, he was friends with my…my boyfriend at the time.”
Tyler’s eyebrow raised in a silent question before he said, “And your boyfriend he was…”
She couldn’t stand in the hallway any longer where she was fully open to his scrutiny whether the story inspired pity or something else. Kate stepped past him into the room and started to explain,
“He was in the accident, along with two of my best friends.” She folded her arms across her chest, in a way trying to shield herself from the memories. “We were testing the polymer on what we thought was an EF1 but–”
“It was an EF5.” She nodded and his lips shifted into a sympathetic frown. Kate sat on the edge of the bed so that she didn’t have to face him head on.
She continued with, “So, I quit school and packed up to New York. Javi went back to Miami but because of the outbreak he thought he could use a second pair of eyes and invited me on.” From her peripheral, she could see the way he nodded along as she spoke, the genuine compassion still written in his features. She shrugged, unwilling to allow herself to feel the extent of the situation and the memories in front of him, “None of it matters though, I’ll be back in the city by the end of the week anyway.”
“You mean you’re giving up?” Tyler asked like it was somehow a personal affront to him or some greater injustice. Kate wasn’t sure what he cared. They’d only just met and he didn’t know her, not really.
“I’m not giving up. I can’t live like this again, risking my life every day.”
“Because of the accident?” The way he said it, like it was only a passing moment and not something that monumentally changed not only her life but her, made her response sharp.
“Yes, because of the accident.”
He was unshaken by her hostility and placed a hand lightly on top of hers where it sat between them on the bed.
“Kate, I’ve seen people get hurt too, I’ve–” She couldn’t listen to this, couldn’t have him reduce her experience by comparison. If he thought this was the way to change her mind, he was sorely mistaken.
“Yeah, Tyler, well I got hurt. I watched people die, and I’ll bear those scars for the rest of my life.” Her body filled with tension of the memory as her breath began to quicken. She let the anger take over, the simplicity of it easier than the complicated truth. “I don't know why I even–”
“Hold on–Kate!”
Kate could feel the air his failed reach created as he tried to grab her wrist to stop her. She was fast though, spurred on by the singular goal of getting the hell away from him. When she made it to the threshold of her room, she moved to shut the door. It almost slammed fully closed but groaned as the wood crashed into the foot he’d managed to snake in.
“Go to bed,” She demanded.
“So what, you’re going to help Javi line the pockets of Riggs for the rest of the week? The real estate shark that's directly profiting off the suffering of these people?” It seemed he couldn’t help, was adept at, pushing her buttons. If she were any bolder, she’d have already struck the self-righteous expression off his face.
“I didn’t know about that, I would have never–these are my people but this isn’t the way, the polymer didn’t work and people died because of it.”
“More will too, but only if you don’t do anything.” He tried to reach for her again but she shrugged away, “It could work. Together we could do this.” Tyler’s expression was pleading, his eyes urging her to make the right decision.
“Goodnight, Tyler.”
His
The flight was thankfully uneventful and much easier than her last flight to Oklahoma when she’d been dreading the very idea of her return. There were still memories that haunted the place she called home but now she could rest assured that they weren’t losses for nothing and that she may very well be able to save someone, hopefully many someones, from the same suffering she had endured for years.
Kate dragged her suitcases through the airport and the bustle of people coming and going made her feel oddly comforted. New York was easy to get lost in and for the time, it was exactly what she needed. But it had only ever been a place she ran away to and after a while she was running too fast to ever see it for what it was. Here, in Oklahoma, she was home.
She made her way out to the pickup lanes and was met with a calm blue sky, one that she knew–or maybe even hoped–wouldn’t last. At the five-minute mark, Kate was unbothered. By ten, she considered concern. By twenty, she was on the phone. It took three calls getting sent to voicemail before her mother picked up on the fourth.
“Hey, are you alright?” She tried not to sound too concerned but it wasn’t like her mother to forget an obligation or to not pick up the phone.
“Oh, sunshine, I’m fine. It’s my truck that’s acting up,” Her mom replied. “I was on the road already when it decided to quit on me. I’m not sure how long repairs are going to take. You want me to call someone for you?” Kate sighed, more relieved by her mother’s well-being than bothered by the situation.
“No, don’t worry about it,” She answered, “As much as you don’t like it, I am a big girl. I can take care of it.”
“I know you can, baby. Don’t worry about making it here tonight, just take care of yourself.”
They exchanged ‘I love you’s before it sunk in that actually did have to take care of it. She found herself a spot on a nearby bench and tucked her luggage in beside her. Scrolling through her contacts, her thumb hovered over Javi before something urged her to keep going. Kate wasn’t sure if this was a bad idea but lately, she could handle a little risk.
“Hello?” She bit her lip, knowing this was her last chance to turn back. Still, he might not even be around or available to get her.
“Hey, Tyler?”
“Uh, yeah?” His voice was in performance mode, his uncertainty no match to his inherent charisma. Kate found herself filled with an urgent hope.
“It's Kate, Kate Carter.”
“Kate!” She could hear the smile in his voice. It was the first time she’d called him since he gave her his number and she was just beginning to regret not using it sooner. “What uh…what's going on?”
Her stomach flipped at the realization that she had to explain herself, that she wasn’t just calling him. Oh god, was this a mistake? Kate had thought there was something there when they were saying goodbye but maybe this was pushing it.
“Are you in Oklahoma by any chance?”
“I am actually,” Tyler replied before he, with a hopeful tone, asked, “Are you here?”
“Do you think you could pick me up from the airport?” She fought the urge to cross her fingers like a little girl. It wouldn’t be the end of the world if she had to call Javi but she couldn’t help but want to see where this path led.
“Of course!” Her chest tightened, a mix between excitement and worry. “Is everything alright with your mom?” Kate’s cheeks flushed, touched by his concern.
“Yeah–truck just wasn’t starting, don’t worry,” She said, hoping she sounded nonchalant.
“Alright then, I’ll be there as soon as I can.” In the background, Kate could hear his keys jingling already and she smiled to herself.
“Thanks so much. Bye.”
_ _ _
Kate had been inside, sitting at a cafe when her phone buzzed in her pocket, Tyler letting her know that he’d made it. She tossed out her empty coffee cup before regathering her things and taking a deep breath. If she was being honest with herself, she was excited to see him but she didn’t want to endure the inevitable teasing she’d be subject to should she seem too eager to be in his presence.
The sliding doors opened and it took her a minute to spot the familiar red truck. Her eyes followed the path to where Tyler was busy basking in the attention of an adoring fan. What more could she expect?
“And did you want this signed cause I could definitely sign this for you.”
He didn’t notice as she siddled up, even with the rumble of her suitcases on the concrete. She shook her head at the display of his ‘Tornado Wrangler’ persona and thought better than to let him off the hook.
With the exaggerated voice of a dedicated fan, she implored, “Oh my goodness! Is that Tyler Owens? I am your biggest fan!”
“That’s me darlin’, what can I do for–Kate.” He cleared his throat and straightened out his posture, putting on the real Tyler at the sight of her. Kate bit her lip, sparing him the laugh that threatened to escape her.
“Tyler,” She said, “You look good.”
“Well, I feel good.” Tyler stood with his hands on his hips, the two of them alone now and it seemed neither of them knew just what to say. She laughed at his remark and began to heave her luggage into the bed. Before she could lift the larger of the two bags, Tyler was stopping her with a hand on her wrist. Kate looked up at him, confused.
“Don’t make me make you get in the truck.” She glared at him, gauging whether or not he was serious. He only matched her expression. “Get in the truck,” Tyler repeated.
Kate rolled her eyes and climbed into the passenger seat. She couldn’t help but lean over toward the shift, running her fingers across the buttons. Her pointer finger landed on the tape labeled, ‘Kate’s Barrels’ and traced over his writing. When the driver's door opened, she jumped at the movement and tore her hand away.
“Headed to your mom’s?” Tyler asked, fingers tapping a rhythm onto the wheel.
“Uh, no actually just any motel close would be good. Home’s a bit far and the flight was long. I just want to go to bed.” She reminded herself that that was the only reason.
“I’m close,” He told her. Since when was he close? “I mean you could stay in my guest room and I could take you back to Sapulpa in the morning?” The idea sounded as equally dangerous as it was appealing. With a motel, she was in control of the situation but his place? There was no knowing.
Clearing her throat she answered, “That…sounds fine.”
Tyler tipped his hat toward her and then he was making his way out of the parking spot. For a little while, they sat in comfortable silence, the radio filling the empty space between them. Once they were outside the city, it was comforting to watch as farmland made up her view. The word rattled in her head again. Home.
“So, how did it end up going with the investors?” He asked. “Good, I assume since you’re back in Oklahoma.” Kate couldn’t help but smile knowing well enough already how happy he’d be to hear. Not to mention how happy she was to achieve something she’d been chasing since the possibility entered her mind.
“Yeah, it went very well actually. We uh–we got a lot of people interested and the offers were so good…I quit my job and sold the apartment. I’m back, back.”
Tyler’s smile grew to a million watts as he exclaimed, “Kate! That’s amazing!”
“Thank you, we’re really excited.” She thought she saw his grin falter a bit but she couldn’t pin down why. Still, after a moment he let out a whoop, honking the horn at the expense of the car in front of them. Kate laughed, placing her hand over his to keep him from doing it again.
“So, where you planning on living? With Javi?”
“Actually I’m not sure yet. Javi has this new girlfriend from back in Miami and they’re pretty wrapped up in each other.” His eyebrows raised and she continued, “My mom's kind of out of the way too. Plus, she’s thinking of selling since seed prices just keep going up. Says she’s sick of the weather.”
Tyler’s jaw went slack, exaggerating his shock. “Sick of the–Sick of the weather?”
“What can I say, she doesn’t appreciate the beauty of the storm.” Kate sighed theatrically. Her hand went to her forehead in a ‘woe is me’ gesture. He chuckled, punching her playfully in the arm.
“On the topic of prices though, she is right.” Tyler sighed as he turned onto a new street. “That’s why I bought land and started from the ground up.”
“Land?” She repeated. It hadn’t been that long that she’d been gone. When and more so why had he decided to put down roots and outside of Arkansas for that matter.
“Yes, ma’am.” His mouth quirked up in a prideful smirk.
“And here I thought I’d be sharing some shitty motel room.”
They pulled into a long dirt driveway, the grass surrounding it still young. While the house was clearly new, the style had a nostalgic feel to it. It was painted a fresh shade of cream and the white wrap-around porch just screamed summer nights. If she didn’t know better she’d think she was going to visit some sweet old lady.
“Here we are, home sweet home.”
Tyler opened her door for her like a proper gentleman and she stepped out into pleasant fresh air. The whole thing was picturesque. Kate supposed she shouldn’t really be surprised considering she didn’t really know his tastes but the whole thing surprised her nonetheless.
She followed Tyler through the front door as he carried her bags inside. The interior was just as sweet as the exterior had been but Kate could see the signs that were uniquely him. There were various piles and pieces of gear strewn about that she recognized from having filled her mother’s house with. Even with the classic style, the appliances and layout were tastefully modern. She was impressed.
Kate stepped into the kitchen which seemed to be the most lived-in room. There were pictures of the Wranglers and what she assumed was his family stuck to the fridge. Her eyes drifted to a bulletin board hung up next to it and tacked up in the center of it was a page ripped out of their article from Ben, one with a picture of her. She could feel her cheeks flush even with him still in the other room. Though she wanted to, Kate knew she wouldn’t mention it.
“You hungry?” She jumped at the sound of Tyler’s voice.
“No, I couldn’t–” The same look that urged her to ‘get in the truck’ painted his face and she reconsidered her answer. “Starved.”
Tyler seemed satisfied. He pulled out a seat at the kitchen island where she could have a clear view of him whipping something together. The whole thing felt unnervingly domestic but she enjoyed it all the same.
“This place is really nice, Tyler,” Kate said. Gesturing toward his tricked-out home office–that was maybe a little too nice for a YouTube star–she pointed out, “Got a nice setup too.”
“Yeah, the team has pretty much paired off and they live here and there but we come back for a warm meal more often than not.”
“Not you though?” It had crossed her mind that maybe the sudden home ownership had been a response to some sort of serious relationship. She tried to sound casual since it wasn’t really any of her business.
Tyler smiled and shrugged. “Nah, a fearless leader has to hold down the fort.” Kate rolled her eyes and laughed at his cockiness. It was better knowing that it didn’t run deep. She thought better than to push it but still, she wanted to know what this whole thing was for.
“No, but seriously, why a house?”
“Oklahoma is the past, present and future of tornadoes. That’s no secret,” He replied like it was some well-known slogan. Yeah, the outbreak they experienced had put Oklahoma back on the map but Tornado Alley spanned a wide area, including Arkansas.
“How do you figure?”
“Well you’re here, aren’t you?” Her stomach sank, trying to decipher the meaning behind what he said. His focus was trained on the pot in front of him like what he’d said was no big deal. What was she supposed to say to that?
Without an answer, Tyler clarified, “You’ve got better instinct than anyone I’ve ever met, better than any Doppler too.”
He’d turned to her and winked in her continued silence. Kate nodded with a smile like it was casual to her too. She shifted under his intense gaze and thought it was an apt time to break the tension with something she’d been tossing around in her mind. He laid a plate of spaghetti in front of her before sitting down himself. She cleared her throat.
“I was going to wait to bring this up but…I was wondering if you would consider being partners.”
“Really?” The excitement on his face was genuine and Kate could see the surprise too. It made her feel secure in her decision.
“Javi and I both have stakes in it but he’s avoiding the field as much as he can right now. He’s got the business side under control but, like I said, he’s got someone at home who’d prefer he didn’t get blown away.”
Tyler stayed practically frozen in place. Maybe she’d overstepped her bounds after all. She could tell herself all she wanted that she wouldn’t be hurt if he didn’t want to partner with her but that didn’t make it the truth.
“What do you say, me and you?” Kate asked, bracing for his answer.
“You and me,” Tyler replied genuinely and with what she hoped was a hint of awe.
They ate silently, half from hunger and half in consideration of their future. As much as Kate didn’t want to admit it, there were other questions lingering between them. When her plate was cleared, he insisted on taking care of the simple cleanup himself leaving Kate to sit idly at the kitchen table, unable to get anywhere else without his direction anyway.
With the dishes washed, Tyler turned his attention back to her but it seemed he had just as much of an idea of how to proceed as she did.
“So, uh…” She began, uncertain where she was going.
“I bet you probably want to get cleaned up. There’s an en suite in the guest room.”
“Yeah, great.” As much as she wanted to bolt, Kate got up from the table slowly as if she were as calm as could be. Still, she didn’t wait for any instructions as to where to go. She didn’t turn back to look at him as she climbed the stairs, internally cursing herself for adding to the awkward atmosphere.
“First door on the right!” Tyler called after her because, of course, she hadn’t asked.
_ _ _
The warm water had been just what she needed, especially paired with the time away from Tyler to think. As much as there had been a sense of tension between them, her feelings had settled on contentment and maybe even excitement. They were partners now and they had plenty of time to figure everything and anything else out. They’d been through hell already and he would help her through it again.
She stepped out of the shower, her feet hitting the plush bath mat, and reached for a towel. Her hand grabbed only air. Upon further inspection, the towel rack was completely unoccupied. Shit.
“Um, Tyler?” Kate called. She waited a few minutes for his response and when it didn’t come she yelled louder. “Tyler!” She let out a breath when she heard his footsteps on the stairs.
“Yeah?”
“There are no towels in here!”
“Shit. My bad, no one has used that bedroom yet,” Tyler explained. His feet were already causing the wood floor to creak when he assured, “I’ll grab you one, be right back.”
Kate couldn’t believe this was happening. There was a good chance that she’d expose herself in the exchange. She’d even left her clothes on the bed, choosing to strip before going to the bathroom.
A few minutes later there was a hesitant knock on the door.
“Here, I brought you a few. I don’t know what you prefer,” Tyler said.
She had to assume that he was smart enough not to look. He’d been nothing but polite after all. When she opened the door, his eyes were covered by the palm of his hand, and his other arm was extended out to her. Kate tried not to laugh at the look of him.
“Thanks.”
Kate wrapped the largest towel around herself and used another to dry the excess moisture from her hair. She pulled the door back open, assuming he was gone but she was met with his figure, eyes still shielded. Nearly bumping right into him, she let out an involuntary sound something between a squeak and a groan. Tyler echoed the sound and quickly flipped his hand so he could see her. She had to assume that his subsequent turning around was motivated by her state of undress.
She didn’t know what else to do besides starting to dress. It seemed he wasn’t done talking to her just yet. After a moment, he spoke.
“Uh, Kate…I, uh, realized I didn’t say thank you just then for considering me.”
“Who else could I possibly consider?” She winced at her own words. By no means did Kate want to sound like she was unhappy, she just didn’t want to make it a big deal between them.
“Well, right, I guess there’s not many storm chasers to begin with and especially not ones who’ve studied meteorology.” Kate could hear the slight hurt in his voice even as he tried to tease and she couldn’t blame him. She’d said the wrong thing. She quickly finished pulling on her pajama pants so she could focus on the conversation before she said something else she regretted.
“Tyler,” She said softly. He still had his back considerately turned to her. Like a kid trying to pass notes in class, Kate tapped his shoulder to get his attention. Tyler smiled as he faced her and it gave her the boost she needed to say what she wanted. “You’re the reason I’m doing this in the first place. You believed in me even when I didn’t. We’re going to be helping people and that’s because of you.”
He was shaking his head before she’d even finished.
“You can’t believe that, it's your polymer, your idea–”
She took a confident step forward, the action effectively shutting him up. The closer Kate got the more she angled up at him, his height towering over her. Her hand found its way to his jaw, cupping it gently, her thumb brushing over the stubble of his skin. Before she had the chance to close the distance, Tyler took his chance to capture her lips with his own.
It started slow, hesitant to the possibility of too much too fast but quickly gained momentum as they threw caution to the wind. It had been years since Kate had done this, never quite feeling able to move on from Jeb and the accident but now with a sense of closure and Tyler’s guiding hand she felt ready.
His mouth was eager as their kiss deepened, Tyler’s tongue painting the inside of her mouth, almost as if he was committing it to memory. Their heavy breaths filled the air and neither of them seemed willing to break the kiss as the minutes went on. It wasn’t until her fingers played at the hem of his shirt that he broke off, looking down at her through hooded eyes, his mouth swollen and flushed.
“Kate…”
The sight was too much and she couldn’t help but bring her lips back to his skin. They found purchase at his pulse point, kisses littering his neck as she made her intentions known to him with every touch.
Taking a step back, Tyler’s hands cradled her face and he searched her eyes, looking for what she wasn’t sure but when he seemed to find it a smile broke across his face. It was the same smile he sported every time the wind picked up and the radar lit up red: a man ready to face a challenge.
“You still wanna stay in my guest room?” He asked, though his joking town was limited by his heavy breathing. Kate knew he was teasing but he was just as eager as she was.
“If you keep up with that attitude I just might,” She replied, smiling ruefully.
“Honey,” Tyler beamed, “all I’ve got is attitude.”
A chuckle escaped her lips and his face turned from cocky to sincere before he leaned in to steal a kiss once more. His hands moved from her face to grasping her own as he led her to what she assumed was his room.
Kate struggled to keep up as he held his hands behind him for her to grasp. She held them awkwardly as the unusual position did not grant her a good grip. The playful air gave her butterflies but also made her feel a sense of safety, knowing that things didn’t have to be heavy between them.
Tyler turned, pulling their hands over his head so that Kate twirled around with him. He used the momentum to guide her backward into his room with his hands on her hips, attempting a cheesily seductive smolder. She used her heel to kick the door shut behind them.
Kate walked ahead of him to go sit on the edge of his bed. She could tell he was watching her closely to consider his next move but she enjoyed the idea of playing coy with him. Ignoring him, she took in the space which was surprisingly sparse especially compared to the ground floor.
“Wow, real homey in here,” Kate joked, feigning awe at the blank walls
“Oh, hush,” Tyler chided, “It hasn’t been that long since we finished construction.”
She put up her hands in surrender and replied, “Sure, sure.” He rolled his eyes at her and then his expression became soft again. Tyler walked forward, kneeing her legs open and standing between them. With just a tilt of her head they were kissing again and this time when she grabbed his shirt, he let her take it off of him. Kate paused a moment to take him in, the image one she intended to commit to memory before pulling her own shirt over her head.
The rest of their clothes came quickly but when it was time for her to remove her jeans she hesitated.
“We don’t have to do this.” Tyler reassured her, misreading her reluctance. Kate shook her head.
“It's not that it’s–” She huffed in frustration and rather than continue to overthink, pulled her pants down in one swift motion, hoping he’d move past the interruption rather than linger on the issue.
Instead, his eyes moved immediately to her lower half and zeroed in on her leg…her scar. Kate’s stomach began to churn. She knew that he knew the story but she hated that it had to be part of this moment between them. He had been part of making it possible for her to redeem herself, to make sure the losses were not worth nothing. Still, the memories and the physical signs would never leave her. It made her insecure but if he had a problem with it, this wasn’t worth continuing.
“Is this from…”
“Yes,” Kate replied flatly. She didn’t have anything to prove and she wanted more than anything to move on from this as soon as possible. Tyler looked up from the marred skin on her leg and cupped her face with one of his hands. His eyes were filled with pure admiration.
“You’re the strongest person I’ve ever met.”
Tyler’s lips were on hers again as he leaned her back into the bed, his body sculpting to hers. She felt a hand trail down her body, over her ass, before he hoisted her leg over his shoulder, his face turning towards her thigh and kissing over her scar as he lined himself up with her entrance. He looked at her until she realized he was waiting for her cue. She grabbed onto his upper arms and nodded, making it clear she was ready.
He was slow with her, caressing in all the right spots and making sure she was comfortable until he was finally fully inside her and they moaned in unison at the feeling. She hadn’t felt like this in a long time and when he took a moment to brush the hair from her face it made it all that much sweeter so much so that she laughed. Tyler looked at her, concerned but when she kissed him, he smiled into it catching her drift.
As he began to grind into her, he coaxed mewls from her lips, her hips meeting his instinctually at the pleasure. The way he watched her carefully for her reactions made her heart soar. He made it evident that they were in this together, that he cared about making her feel good. One of Tyler's hands still held her leg while the other found her clit, circling it while keeping pace and she couldn’t help the words spilling from her mouth.
“Tyler,” Kate pleaded, “Don’t stop.” He listened to her demand but she could see how it made him falter. His expression was that of awe as if he couldn’t believe that he was here with her, that she was enjoying what he was doing for them. She curled an arm around his neck and played with the hair there in a way that caused him to flush.
“I gotcha,” Tyler promised, somehow pressing them closer together, “I gotcha.”
She could’ve been embarrassed at how fast she came but Tyler didn’t give her a chance, instead riding her out through her climax and continuing to thrust even after. It was almost too much as tears of pleasure pricked her eyes and her moans filled the room. Her hands gripped the sheets, his arms, his hair, anything that she could reach to keep hold of her senses as they were overwhelmed. All she could think or comprehend was Tyler.
“I–I’m close,” He stammered, the tremble in his voice radiating throughout his body, “Kate, I–”
Her vision went white when she came again, though she could hear Tyler moan her name like a mantra, his head buried in her neck. One hand reached into his hair while the other traced absent circles on his back. It took him a minute but eventually, he came back to her.
“Hey,” He said, letting out a breathy laugh.
“Hi.”
Tyler pressed a lingering kiss to her forehead, clearly savoring the moment. Kate didn’t want it to end either but she was confident that it was only beginning. They both let out their own versions of a disappointed noise as he pulled out.
When he disappeared into the ensuite, she pulled his comforter up around her, the scent of him enveloping her as well. He came back with a damp towel and once helped her clean up, he flopped into bed beside her, pulling her into his side.
Kate placed a hand on his chest, feeling his steady heartbeat under her palm. Tyler pressed a kiss to the top of her head. She wanted to bask in the moment a bit longer but before she knew it she was beginning to yawn.
The last thing she remembered before she fell into a peaceful sleep was the sweet kiss they shared and the soft rumble of his voice.
“Goodnight, Kate.”

₊˚⊹。 big gym energy (is this my fantasy?) | fushiguro toji
wc: 2.0k
summary: who would have thought the rippest DILF in all of Japan would get you to go to the gym everyday?
contains: gn!reader, non-curse au, college au, appearance of itafushikugi (mostly nobara), reader has a huge and lowkey delusional crush on toji, age gap
a/n: the gym toji fic! tone in this is a bit different from what i write, and it's lowkey a crack fic but i hope it's still enjoyable! listened to: big energy - latto & area codes - kaliii
part of the in's and out's new year/birthday event | request prompt: going to the gym for yourself (and totally not for that cute guy who sometimes says hi)
“You’re going to the gym?” Nobara halts smack in the middle of the busy hallway. Groans huff behind her, the rest of your class filing out of the lecture hall. You bow your head apologetically as you pull her to the side.
“Yes.”
She squints, skeptical, “You.”
You nod.
“The gym.” she says it slower this time, tilting her head down.
You nod again.
Nobara blinks, shifting her weight as she reaches one hand inside the pocket of her overalls. There’s a long pause, rushed footsteps amplifying the suspense, then—
“Okay, what’s the bet? How much did Maki put out? I want in.”
You roll your eyes, shaking your head as you loop your arm around hers and continue walking.
There’s good reason for her to doubt you; she knows you best after all. In your little quad, you are the least likely to be found doing any physical activity or sport whatsoever—and that’s saying a lot, considering the other fourth of your group is Megumi. But at least he walks his dogs regularly.
“Rude,” you scoff jokingly, “there’s no bet, just testing it out because they have a free trial promo.”
It shouldn’t hurt to check it out, you think. One of your resolutions this year is to finally get started on your fitness journey, whatever form it may be.
“You should come.”
Nobara snorts, “Wrong person,” you both turn at a corner, “ask Itadori.”
The gym is just a few blocks away from your campus, a good 18-minute walk if you’re counting—which is also part of what makes it so appealing. The ad you’d seen for the free trial is an early bird promo to attract new customers for the gym’s new branch launch.
And it does make the most sense to ask him; he is the sports science major after all—
“No way,” you step out on the sidewalk, “telling him is practically committing to a membership.”
—but Yuuji is a bit too eager when it comes to things like this. No doubt he’ll be at your heel, wagging his figurative golden retriever tail at the prospect of being your certified gym buddy. It’s endearing and you know he means well, but that’s way too much pressure for someone who’s just starting out.
She laughs, readjusting her bag, “He’d know how to use the machines though.”
“I watched some videos…” you mumble, because Nobara has a point, but if you’re being honest, you feel just a teensy bit embarrassed at the idea of anyone else knowing about your attempts at fitness this early on, lest it fail in the end. “I can probably ask someone there…”
“Try the most jacked up person in the gym.”
You shove her jokingly, her laughter echoing down the road.
.
The first person you meet at the gym is the lady at the front desk. Her ponytail sways as she greets you, a chirpy smile welcoming you in as she holds an iPad to her chest while touring you around—at the center, the main floor plan is decked out with machines; towards the back sit the squat racks, and to your sides are the private cycling rooms and multifunctional spaces. According to her, they also offer yoga classes every 6:00 p.m. on Wednesdays.
You’d expected a lot more people to be in here at 7:00 p.m., but you suppose it makes sense others would prefer to spend their Friday nights elsewhere.
Looking around, you spot a middle-aged lady you swear is Megumi’s English professor; on the treadmills, a couple your age share a laugh as they try to match pace. There are some machines you’ve never even seen in your life, Youtube videos included.
You take a deep breath. You can ask for help.
After all, the crowd feels friendly enough, not too intimidating—
—until your eyes land on him, on the benches; an absolute tank of a man doing chest presses with what you think are probably the heaviest dumbbells on the rack.
You try not to stare, catching only a glimpse of the way his biceps flex against the tight sleeves of his black compression shirt.
Don’t be a creep, you tell yourself, walking towards the leg press machine. You may be new here, but you’ve learned that gym etiquette isn’t so far off from acting like a civilized human being.
Thank god you never take Nobara seriously, because you can’t even imagine the stuttering mess you’d be if you had to ask him how to work any of these god forsaken machines.
.
It’s a good thing, then, that help comes to you without you having to say a word.
This is number four out of five sessions in your free trial promo, and you have no idea how to get the goddamn plates out of the barbell. You pull some out from the other side and the whole barbell comes along with it. When you attempt the other side, it does the same. Then when you finally do manage to get off the plates on one side, the whole barbell drops, clanging loudly against the metal foot of the squat rack set-up.
(Now that you think about it, maybe it isn’t such a good thing that you’ve been offered help instead of you asking. There must be a reason someone thinks you could need it.)
Someone, who is also the last person you could ever possibly want to embarrass yourself in front of.
Someone, who just so happens to be the jacked up tank of a man you’ve admittedly glanced at a few times in your past few visits here.
“To make it easier,” he crouches beside you, laying down a smaller plate and rolling the larger ones on the barbell over it.
He unloads them like they weigh nothing—and with his physique, it isn’t hard to believe that they probably do. His biceps look to be the size of your head, chest popping out in ways you’ve only seen on those Tiktok thirst edits; his one hand is larger than a 2.5 kilogram plate, and his forearms look like they could ch—
Mind out of the gutter, you blink away, focusing instead on the metal bar in front of you.
God, you don’t even know this man’s name.
“T-thanks.” you stutter, embarrassed.
He gives you a half-smile, lips turned on one side, “Sure.” then he walks away, the tightness of his black compression shirt hugging the ridges of his back muscles.
You gulp.
So begins your year-long gym membership.
(And maybe, just maybe, the kind-of-meet-cute of a lifetime. Who knows, really?)
.
“Who would have thought the rippest DILF in all of Japan would get you to go to the gym everyday,” she snorts, fingers grazing over the curved edges of the heart-shaped watermelons in the fruit aisle.
You hush her, scanning the area around you for anyone who might have overhead.
It’s 11:00 p.m. on a Thursday, so you doubt it, but you can never be too sure.
“He’s nice, you know.” you pout.
“Yeah, what’s his name?” Nobara gives you a look.
You glare, touché.
Maybe you don’t know his name. Yet.
But he’s always offered to stack on the heavy plates for you, and will oftentimes help in unloading them too. There are times when you aren’t quite sure how to work the machines and he swoops in like the gym buff version of prince charming, teaching you proper form just so you don’t get injured. He’ll wipe down a mat for you to use some days, because—
“Stretching is important,” he never fails to mention.
He’s nice.
And you have an insanely delusional crush on him, but you don’t care, because why else would he be giving you this much attention if he wasn’t interested in you too?
.
You find out many things about your gym crush, most of them completely unexpected.
One: his hair is unusually soft for someone who looks so rough. Or, well, you think it looks soft, you can’t tell for sure; you haven’t actually touched it to be able to tell. The black mop on his head falls flat over his eyes on the few days you assume are right before his next scheduled haircut. It surprises you even more when he walks in the gym with a small hair tie holding his bangs up.
Two: he does a considerable amount of bodyweight exercises for someone his size—Calisthenics, specifically.
You watch him pull himself up the bar, biceps and back straining against the movement. The muscles ripple across the fabric of his tee, and it’s impressive how smoothly he’s able to go up and down; as if he isn’t exerting any effort at all. Then, the push-ups and dips. He can do them all, in every variation you never even thought existed, and it’s always done with so much ease.
It gives you reason to believe that he could be gentle, controlled. In what? Well. You know.
Three: he likes fruity things. You expected his go-to to be straight black, maybe a chocolate protein shake on other days too. But he shows up one day with a smoothie in the shade of vibrant magenta. Dragonfruit, you assume, from all the black specks floating in it.
This also happens to be the first time you initiate the conversation with him.
“Your smoothie looks good,” you mumble, a little hesitant.
God, so awkward.
He looks up from adjusting the plate stoppers on your bar.
A hum rumbles from his throat before he flashes you the same half-smile he always does, “Strawberry, banana, and dragonfruit.”
You don’t really know what to say after that other than, “Cool.”
And you mentally facepalm yourself.
.
In your fourth month at the gym, you learn a few more unexpected things that change everything.
You’ve just finished freshening up and you’re on the way out when you bump into—
“Megumi?”
He looks up from his phone, dark strands hitting the tips of his eyelashes as he pushes back one side of his headphones. He raises an eyebrow, confused and surprised.
“You gym?”
“What’re you doing here?”
Pink dusts his cheeks as he ducks his head, motioning for you to go first.
“Sorry,” you chuckle, adjusting the strap of your duffel bag, “I started going here a few months ago. You?”
He looks a little surprised by it, probably more so at the fact that you’ve kept it a secret from him for so long, but he nods, “That’s good. You did mention wanting to work on your fitness more this year.” then, he shifts, adjusting his weight before hanging his headphones by his neck.
“I’m waiting for my dad.”
In the past few years you’ve known Megumi, he’s never mentioned his dad. You never bothered to ask because you suspected there was a good reason he never talked about him in the first place.
And so comes number four, and maybe the last unexpected thing you find out about your gym crush—
“Megumi!”
You both turn around to the voice of none other than Nobara’s proclaimed rippest DILF in Japan; the most jacked up tank of a man who also happens to be the man you’ve crushed hard on for the past four months.
Everything is snapping into place, information forming bridges you would rather not cross right now.
He walks up to Megumi, duffel bag slung across his chest as he reaches for your friend.
Megumi looks like he wants to wither away, embarrassed at you seeing him tucked under his dad’s arm. But all your brain can really comprehend is that Megumi, your good friend, is currently squished between the bicep and chest you’ve been staring at since your first day at the gym.
You hold your breath, the realization creeping to the forefront of your mind. There had been signs that your gym crush was a dad; apart from being built like one, he’d offhandedly mention ‘son’ a few times. You didn’t think it would be—
“Oh, you two know each other?” your gym crush tilts his head, turning to you, “you didn’t tell me your friend signed up for this gym, Megumi.”
“I didn’t know,” Megumi grumbles, and the look on his face can rival yours, for sure. Tough competition on ‘who looks like they want to die the most right now?’.
But he can’t win.
Because when Megumi begrudgingly introduces your gym crush to you as his dad, you’re pretty sure you’ve buried yourself twelve feet underground.
(It doesn’t ease the embarrassment when you learn unexpected thing number five: he’s been a trainer at the gym this entire time.)

Hi can you write a Lucy bronze x reader. Reader is the shy one of the team and during teamnights and interviews reader is very reserved. With Lucy she isn’t as shy. Lucy helps reader slowly get out her shell (some fluff :))
JUST NOT ME — lucy bronze
*i truly apologise for the lack of posts in the past few days, i’ve had a hectic few days and i’ve been focused on studying so sorry if this sucks — posts will probably be a bit inconsistent over the next few weeks but i’ll be as active as i can<3*

"you excited?" beth asked as the car pulled into the entrance of st george's park, the familiar surroundings bringing a small smile to your face. this was your first call up to the england squad in almost a year, having been out with the dreaded ACL injury.
"i guess" you shrugged, beth shaking her head in amusement. you didn't really know how to explain it, of course you were excited, who wouldn't be happy playing for their country but you were almost nervous, what if you weren't up the standard of others in the group.
"always the women of few words!" beth joked, one you had heard many times as the arsenal girls loved to tease you about how quiet you were but that's just how you were cause not everyone was her.
they didn’t know that you needed a chance to warm up to people before you let them into your bubble, they didn’t know that even though because you don’t say a lot that you aren’t paying attention as you notice every persons small habits they have. cause not everyone was her.
you were a listener and not someone who could sit and chat someone's ears off for ever more than a day like the likes of beth mead and ella toone could do so effortlessly without even realising.
but maybe that's what lucy liked so much about you.
you and lucy had been together just nearing two years now, the two of you had known of each other for a while it wasn't until a night out in london with the lionesses that leah had dragged you to after you had said for days on end that you weren’t going, that you and lucy spoke to each other.
you sitting in the corner of the club, drink in hand as you watched millie and rachel on the karaoke a small smile on your face at their singing which was not the slightest in tune at all.
lucy spotting you sat alone slipping in the booth with you before asking you why you weren't doing karaoke like everyone else, you shrugging at the girls question before she asked you if you wanted to do it with her.
you face going red as you almost immediately shook your head, but lucy being lucy had her mission for the night and that was to get you to do karaoke, and to which she succeeded after sitting and having a few more drinks with you.
and from that night, the rest was history.
you rolled your eyes at beth's comment as she chuckled to herself getting out the cab first, getting her luggage as you followed close behind her, thanking the driver as you headed into the entrance of st george's park.
taking in the familiar surroundings, as you looked around noticing the few changes since the last time you were here.
"i'm not holding these doors open for the good of my own health, hurry up!" beth pointed out, her thick northern accent bouncing off the walls as she was stood in the doorway of the lift, pulling you out of your trace as you hurried to get into the lift. pressing the buttons on the side of the wall for the floor you needed.
you and beth getting out of the lift on the same floor, you noticing your girlfriend as she had her back turned the opposite way, a smile appearing on your face.
beth nudging you, "go on!" she whispered as you said a small bye to the blonde as she walked the opposite way.
"your here!" a voice cheered which you knew all too well, lucy stood at the end of the hallway in front of her room door as you stopped your suitcase at your own door.
you smiled seeing the girl, your smile getting bigger with every step she took closer to before engulfing you in a tight hug. your whole body relaxing in hers, the smell of her perfume that you had missed.
“of course i’m here?” you smiled confused at her reaction to seeing you stood in the hallway. “well the media was saying you were gonna withdraw because of an irritation in your knee” she admitted a small frown on her face at the mention of your knee, knowing how hard and the amount of hours you had put in just to get back to the level you were at just last year.
“baby, you do know i would tell you before i even told sarina if i was going to withdraw don’t you?” you asked her, your hands finding their way up the back of her training top, your girlfriend having been here since early as she’d had an early flight to catch this morning.
“yeah”
"anyways, i've missed you" you mumbled into her neck, nestling your head as her hands fell to your lower back you feeling her smile against your forehead as she kissed it.
"i've missed you too love" she smiled as you looked up with a lovesick smile on your face. lucy pressing small kisses to your cheeks, nose and chin before finally pressing a soft kiss to your lips — which you would be dammed to say that you hadn't missed.
it was hard at times being away from your girlfriend for weeks on end as she played in barcelona and you were playing in north london at arsenal. having to schedule weeks in advance of when you would next be able to see each other.
but it made moments like these all the more worth it.
when you would finally be reunited and be in her arms again. sometime you think the distance made the two of you closer in a weird way as you felt as though you cherished you time together more.
"you coming down to lunch?" your girlfriend asked as she pressed your foreheads together, the smile never leaving either of your faces. you nodded, "yeah, let me just put my bag in and chance my shoes"
lucy hummed as she let you go from the hug, grabbing your suitcase for you as you rummaged around your pocket for your room key, the green light flashing as you pushed the handle down.
the door shutting with a click as you opened your suitcase finding your sliders to slip on, “baby, you got another pair!” lucy whisper yelled, pointing to your pink crocs that you were pulling out of your suitcase as she sat at the end of the bed watching you.
“yeah?”
“so what? that makes it seven pairs you’ve got now!” lucy said exaggerating the amount, as you huffed rolling your eyes as if she didn’t have trainers lined up on her bedroom floor.
“three actually” you sassed standing up and checking your hair in the mirror as lucy pulled a face at you, you doing one back to her.
“now quit your complaining, i want food!” you smiled sweetly at your girlfriend grabbing her hand and pulling her up from the bed as she pecked your lips quickly before you left your room not before checking that you had your phone and key card to actually get back into your room.
walking down hand in hand with lucy to where food was being served, as you filled each other in on the journey here. lucy’s sounding a lot more exciting then your two hour car journey consisting of views of trees and beth chatting your ears off about anything and every.
saying a small hello to others that you hadn’t seen since arriving before grabbing something to eat and sitting on a table just the two of you.
"on sunday, i went for breakfast with my mum and you know all she spoke about was you!" you complained as lucy had a smirk on her face as she put another forkful of food into her mouth, nodding alone to what you were saying.
"that's because i'm her favourite" lucy laughed as you rolled your eyes. “clearly, it’s so annoying-“ you began before being cut off by two blondes joining you at the table.
"how do you do that?" leah asked, directing her question more at lucy than you, as she sat down beth following behind the captain. as the two sat down at the table you and lucy were sat at.
"do what?" lucy asked, confusion taking over her face as she looked to you who shrugged putting another forkful of food in your mouth.
"get y/n to have a conversation!" leah pointed to you as you felt your cheeks go a little red as a small smile appeared on your face, as lucy looked back to the blonde and the two others still not really understanding what leah was trying to get at.
"we always have a conversation?" lucy shrugged as if it was nothing, cause to her it was. you had never really spoken to lucy until she had brought you out your shell. lucy knew you were more reserved when it came to talking to others, you would speak but it would be very few words.
but she wouldn’t change it for the word cause even if you didn’t say anything back she knew you were always listening and taking in everything she was saying.
beth and leah began to recount all the the times they had talked to you and you only ever gave them a one word answer, the two pleading with lucy to tell them her ways.
"really? y/n over here is a little chatterbox!" lucy smiled over to you as you awkwardly smiled at the two not really knowing what to say.
"she's not at shy as she likes to let everyone think she is!" she bumped your shoulder, as you rolled your eyes the sound of your fork tinkering against the plate in front as beth and leah’s mouth hang wide open in shock.
"no i refuse to believe it, how!"
"your just not me" lucy joked, the four of you beginning to laugh as you nodded your head in agreement, "i mean your not entirely wrong"

The Chain Meets Your Baby || 1/2
Part 2 ||
Pairing: Hyrule, Time, Wild, Four x Reader
Requested by @kieradumpzz081927: I hope your request are open(or if ur free for requests), so i saw ur LU oneshots about the one that is called ' He becames a dad ' or smth. So, why not that he would introduce his kid(s) to the chain? That ones going to be interesting Interesting indeed 😈Now, I have my own set of headcannons for what order the Chain becomes dads in, but regardless of their own experience, I'm sure the Links would all subject the new dad to lots of support and teasing. Here you go 💜 Warning: Some mature jokes here and there. Nothing major, but gotta give the new dad a little hell, right? ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Zelda Masterlist 🤍Fandom Masterlist
The last thing Hyrule was expecting to encounter during his village visit was his old traveling companions, the other heroes of courage. Then again, life has been full of surprises lately and it wasn't like he didn't already know that the portals between their worlds are still active. It was only a matter of time before their paths crossed again and honestly, it couldn't have aligned more perfectly.
Happy to see the rest of the Chain again, Hyrule takes the liberty of inviting them back to his home so that they can properly catch up and not be the subject of so many judgment stares from villagers. Throughout the short trip there, the group’s laughter is vibrant as they detail accounts from their recent adventures, soon turning it into a friendly competition of who has the craziest stories.
This conversation stays well alive all the way from their first steps outside of the village gates to the second Hyrule opens the door to his house, at which point the spirited teasing immediately dies off into a stunned silence.
“Oh! Hello again!” You’re just as pleasantly surprised to see the boys as your boyfriend had been, your smile more than welcoming as you turn around to greet them, yet they’re less focused on you and more so on the small infant you cradle in your arms.
“...I think the Traveler wins,” Wild mumbles, his disbelief shared amongst the rest of the group who merely nod distractedly.
“Right! I forgot to mention -” Hyrule excitedly hurries to your side before turning to his friends with a thrilled smile, “- This is our daughter, Hope.”
“You just casually forgot to mention you have a kid now…?” Legend narrows his eyes while pointing to the kid in question. He should probably be more annoyed with Hyrule’s tendency of always skipping over important details, but honestly he’s just too shocked to process it right this second.
“Well, she’s only about a month old. Being a dad now takes some getting used to,” Hyrule defends, rubbing the back of his neck timidly, but when you pass your daughter over to him, he shows practice in the way he gently holds her securely to himself before approaching the boys to properly show her off.
Despite their surprise, they’re eager to crowd around him, each wanting to get a good look to ensure this isn’t some clever joke you’re both pulling on them. Fluffy head of dark wavy hair…A little button nose…Sharp pointed ears…Yep, this baby must be yours. She looks exactly as one would imagine the product of Hyrule’s sex life to look like…
“...Geeze. She’s adorable,” Warrior awes, practically leaning over Legend who elbows him back with a glare.
“Isn’t she?” You preen.
“She’s strong, too,” The Vet acknowledges with an unamused pout. He had made the mistake of holding a finger out to the baby only for her to grasp it in an unwavering grip. His attempts at pulling away are fruitless, not that he’s actually trying that hard. Maybe he even likes the feeling of his heart melting just a bit.
“Congratulations. You two must be very proud,” Time praises kindly, having already felt the joy that comes with being a parent himself. He can recognize it in the way Hyrule and you affectionately watch your giggling baby with a pleasant glow surrounding you both.
“We very much are…”
Muffled commotion outside alerts you to the fact that you have visitors long before they stumble into your home, not even bothering to knock as their excitement gets the better of them. Now, any other day, your husband would be quick to scold such ill-mannered behavior, but fortunately for your guests, he's in far too good of a mood to let it be soured.
So, instead of acknowledging the Chain’s less than graceful entrance, Time immediately rises to his feet with a proud hand left upon your shoulder, "Everyone, we'd like you to meet Saria and Mallory."
The young heroes are in awe as they crowd around the bed just to get a look at the small bundles held within your arms. Sure, they've seen babies before, but these are Time's babies. For many of them, the complicated concept of love alone had once seemed out of reach for any hero of courage, yet here the Old Man is, hitched to a lovely wife and now the lucky father of two adorable daughters. It's an amazing accomplishment, really; one that has the entire Chain feeling happy for him.
"They're so little," Hyrule whispers, scared to speak any louder out of fear he'll accidently wake them.
"They inherited their dad's nose, poor things," Warrior jests, throwing a smirk Time's way.
"They'll grow into them," Rather than take it personally, he chuckles while carefully taking one of the girls from you. Despite having only become a father a few hours ago, he's already a natural at handling them. Ever so gently - as if handling the thinnest of glass - he cradles his daughter to his chest and fixes the tiny hand-sewn blanket around her; a gift from her godmother, Malon, of course.
"You'll have your hands full with twins," Four remarks prudently.
You sigh at the thought, your head thrown back against your pillow, "Ugh, we know…”
Although you’re visibly tired after having undergone hours of stressful labor, you still look upon the baby in your arms with nothing short of pure admiration, clearly having no actual regrets towards having either of them. In your eyes, twins just mean all the more love to give.
"Nothing we can't handle," Time promises before getting a mischievous glimmer in his eye while casually extending his sleeping baby out to Twilight, "This one is Mallory, by the way -"
"- W-Wait -!" The Rancher is immediately caught off guard by it, yet his objections are ignored. Time drops the baby into his arms anyway, practically forcing Twilight to take her, not that he truly minds. A natural around children himself, it takes him only a few seconds to adjust the baby comfortably in his hold.
Blind to the other boys who hover around his shoulders, Twilight's eyes are locked in amazement upon the tiny bean who scrunches her nose and whimpers quietly before soon settling down…To think, this small infant no more than a few hours old is a relative of his. He can't help but wonder how closely related they are. How many generations between them? Three? Two? Maybe even just one? It's a strange thought to consider...but also a very comforting one, too.
"...She's a real beauty, isn't she?" Time asks softly with a strong pat to Twilight's back. The only reply he gets is a wordless nod and whimper as the teary eyed Rancher sniffles.
What kind of horrors do they need to prepare themselves for? That's the question that rings through every hero's head as they approach Wild's home. They're concern only grows when - as if sensing them - the Champion suddenly appears in his open doorway with an ear-to-ear grin greeting them...Not the most comforting sight seeing as they've come all this way under his vague request.
A letter had been sent to each of them only giving the minor hint that there’s a certain 'surprise' he can't wait to show them, and with someone as chaotic as their accident prone centenarian, the Chain has every right to be anxious about it.
Even as they all crowd outside of his home, Wild refuses to add any context, instead maintaining his mysteriously upbeat aura before finally stepping aside to allow them in. It's only then that the heroes realize what his 'surprise' is, welcomed by the sight of you as you stand there matching Wild's grin while holding an unfamiliar baby in your arms. She can't be much older than a few weeks, judging on both her tiny features and the obvious bags under both of her parents’ eyes...
"You have a baby?!" Wind screeches with delight, not wasting a second to race to your side.
"Her name is Mikan," Chuckling, you kneel down to let him better see your pride and joy. It isn't long before you're surrounded by most of the heroes who are immediately taken by your daughter's cuteness.
"When did this happen?" Time inquires through a raised eyebrow, one of the few Links who had remained by the door with Wild.
"Uh, she'll be three weeks old tomorrow," Wild answers, his hand darting up to rub the side of his neck. He knows that isn’t exactly what Time meant, but it’s the easiest answer.
"I didn't think you -..." Begins Twilight quietly. Although he ultimately cuts himself short, the curious look he gives his successor wordless finishes what he might've said.
Nodding slowly with some hesitation, Wild bows his head while looking back over to you. There's a fondness in his eyes as he watches you carefully pass your daughter over for Wind to hold, "I know what I said before. I...I didn't think this was something I could have - something I could want this badly, but...Well…I probably don’t need to tell you how it is…”
Twilight pats Wild’s back with a knowing smirk, indeed understanding. He’s happy to see his friend finally accept the peaceful life he deserves instead of continuing to run away from it, after all, Twilight has never been blind to the curiosity and faint jealousy that would shine in Wild’s eyes whenever listening to the other heroes talk about their families. He’s been long overdue to have one of his own.
"Hey, just one question," While Wind is busy cooing and rocking your daughter, Four turns around to address Wild once they finally join everyone else, "Did you really name your daughter after a fruit?"
Wild's cheeks flare in embarrassment, "I - It can be a pretty name, too!"
"I'm actually the one who chose it," You confess sheepishly, taking the attention away from your partner, "I was really craving tangerines throughout the whole pregnancy."
"At least it's a somewhat normal name. I was half expecting you to name your future kids something like 'Biscuit' or 'Curry'," Legend snorts.
"...We did consider picking 'Sage'.”
Warrior laughs heartily before throwing a hand over Wild shoulder with a suggestive wiggle of his eyebrows, "Can we expect that to be the second child's name then?"
"Woah, woah, woah - Let's settle down now, gentleman,” You immediately scold while also taking the chance to save your poor partner by pulling him away from the onslaught of teasing he was about to endure, “One baby at a time. It’s not easy carrying those things, just ask your wives!”
Four has been off into his own little world - That is to say, he’s been both distracted and extremely tired; a terrible mix, but hey, it’s nothing he hasn’t dealt with before. Despite his eyelids feeling like bricks, he remains awake and alert, arms folded across his chest as he sits in the bedside chair keeping watch over your sleeping form.
You need the rest more than him anyway. Your husband has been through some pretty fearsome and ravenous beasts in his time, yet your work last night easily trumpeted every hell he’s undergone himself. Best to let you sleep unless he wants to change that statement.
A series of echoed knocks send Four bolting through the house, hissing a curse under his breath before tossing the front door open with plans to scold whoever’s on the other side, yet he’s stunned into silence when he realizes it’s no poorly timed mailman, rather the very friends he had invited over…although, they did come a lot sooner than he thought they would…
“WE’VE COME TO SEE -!”
“- SHHH!!!” Four nearly smacks a hand over Wild’s face.
“- …The baby…” Wild finishes with a whisper and a grimace.
Four quickly ushers the Chain inside, allowing them to make themselves comfortable with STRICT orders to keep the noise level down. Yes, their early visit may not have been exactly anticipated, but Four holds no ill feelings towards it, in fact, he’s rather smiley while leading them to the nursery.
“Here they are,” He practically sings, eagerly looking inside the large crib as if he, himself, still can’t get enough of its contents. He has every right to be infatuated, “These are my girls~”
Although Four is bubbling with joy as he admires his little creations, the rest of the Chain stands by with wide eyes. Some even take the time to count each baby just to confirm that they are, indeed, seeing triple. Inside lies three little newborns, each fast asleep after having about as stressful of a day as their parents.
“We’re thinking of naming them Marigold, Amber, and Camelia. You know, keep to the color theme and all…”
“Damn, three of them, huh? You didn’t hold back at all, did you, Smithy?” Warrior observes aloud, much to Four’s instant lack of amusement.
“They’re so cute~” Wind coos, Twilight having to pull him back before he accidentally falls into a crib again.
“I suppose it’s a good thing I brought some of the twins’ old stuff then,” Time hums, his smirk holding a hint of sympathy. Needless to say, he doesn’t miss those early days of juggling babies himself, as much as he loves them dearly.
Four preens at the attention his daughters get, however his smile falters when he notices Sky sticking to the very back of the group, awkwardly rubbing his arm and chewing down on his lip. Four frowns.
“...I’m sorry. We should’ve waited until we told -” He keeps his voice down as he joins the older hero who is quick to shake his head and muster his best smile.
“- No, no. We’re happy for you both. Really…” Despite the sorrow stuck in his voice, Four can tell Sky means every word of it, even the sighed: “...You’re a very lucky guy.”
“...I am,” While there could be more said, he realizes now might not be the time to discuss it. Not with so many new babies in the room.
“No wonder you wanted us to be quiet. I can barely handle one newborn at a time, let alone three at once?” Legend mumbles half to himself, his finger gently cresting one of the baby’s chubby cheeks.
“You know, if you ever find your house getting a little too quiet, you can always babysit -”
“- No way in hell. We already have our hands full as it is.”

Duty is to her
Pairing: Bridget Hearts x Fem!reader
Genre: Fluff
Warning: kissing
Word Count: 2k
Summary: Reader and Bridget are attending a party and notice Bridget was getting tired so you decided to step in.
Being the princess and the next ruler of your kingdom, you are expected to go through all sorts of training, education, classes and more in preparation for your coronation and to inherit the throne from your parents. You have hours of classes, discussion of various topics from your basic education to politics, history of your kingdom and all the other neighboring kingdoms, etiquette classes, dance lessons, how to manage your kingdom and many more.
You also undergo training not only with physical activities such as fencing, ballet, horseback riding, and many more. But your parents also added managing paper works and affairs happening in the kingdom for you to be familiarize with, along with hours and hours of discussion with other officials, and to also prepare for the future mountain of works that will probably pile in your desk as soon as your in charge.
Needless to say, you have been very busy with all your duties and since you're still young and wanting to have a social life, you also attend school so that adds up to the mass of work needed to be done. It’s hard to be the princess and heir to the throne.
Being the princess, it is also one of your duties to attend various events such as balls, charities, parties, or any sort of royal gathering. There, it will test how good you are able to recognize and know the other royals, to mingle, chat, interact and meet more other people.
But with everything happening in your daily life, there is one person that has been by your side each time. Princess Bridget of Hearts. She is the daughter of the rulers of Wonderland, their family is a close friend of your family. She is also attending Merlin’s Academy with you and the two of you have been inseparable ever since you bump into each other in the hallways of the academy.
“I can’t wait to visit”
You heard from across the room, you turn to look for the owner of the familiar sweet voice, to see Bridget talking with the other guest. The pink-haired princess has the personality and the energy to draw in people to her direction. She’s the most kindest, sweetest, approachable and brightest person you’ve ever meet. Yet it still baffles you how she claims that you and Ella are her only friends in the academy.
Right now, it was winter break and most of the students in Merlin’s Academy went home to spend the holiday with their families. You and Bridget were no exception and right now their parents had ask them to attend this party much to your dismay since you planned on relaxing during your winter break but when you heard that Bridget is also coming, reluctantly, you agreed but with a little enthusiasm inside especially knowing that the particular pink princess you quite adore and have been for a while now, will be coming.
“Of course” You watch as Bridget giggle again after her reply to whatever they were saying.
You had been unfortunately separate with different people wanting to talk to you and not wanting to appear rude to them, you indulge in their conversation and try to at least look like you were interested but sometimes would still steal glances at a certain pink-haired princes just across the room.
At least she’s having fun. You thought as you tried to avert your eyes from Bridget’a figure and refocus your attention on the conversation with your group.
“Yes I’ve contacted with them and had their support on the matter” you replied. You may have master the art of communication and forming connection but that doesn’t mean you’d enjoyed it since you’d very much like to be with your princess rather than having this formal conversation.
At an early age, you’ve been attending party to party so you’re quite use to all the standing, talking and polite smile. Like the perfect princess but Bridget, on the other hand is still getting use to attending this sort of parties so you can’t really help but worry.
After a few minutes you glance back to where Bridget was again just to check on her. That’s when you notice Bridget was getting tired and is only fighting to stay and keep up with conversation.
It is getting late and Bridget hadn’t had enough rest since yesterday with all the preparation for the party going on.
You took that as your cue to leave.
“Excuse me everyone but I may have to retreat for the night, enjoy the rest of the evening.” You said, curtsying before biding your farewell to them.
The group said their goodbyes in understanding before continuing their conversation. You gracefully walk towards where Bridget’s group.
Bridget still has a smile on her face but you already notice how she was trying to stay awake.
“Excuse me ladies but I might have to steal Bridget from you” you said smoothly as you swiftly take Bridget’s hand and pulled her away from her group. The girls giggle and let you both go as they continue on their own again.
In just a few minutes, Bridget was already leaning on to you as you walk out of the ballroom. The moment the door close behind them, Bridget let out a sigh of relief. Her fatigue kicking in already as she cling on to you for support.
You chuckled and wrap your arms around her waist as you support her weight with your body. “Tired?” You ask the princess who’s eyes are already half close.
Bridget nodded, her eyes are now close as she soaks in the warmth of your body. The ballroom may be buzzing with guest but she still feels cold from the lack of your presence.
Truth be told, she was having fun meeting everyone but she still yearns to be with you since the only reason why she agreed to attend is because she was inform that you’d be there. And you were but she didn’t expect that she would only spend a few minutes with you before you were whist away by the other guests in the party.
The corridors were empty since most of the guest are at the ballroom and the staff are either attending to the party's needs or have already retreated to their quarters.
Since Bridget was already tired to walking straight on her own, you had to half carry her as you guide her to her bedroom.
Bridget notice the direction they were going and stopped.
"what's wrong?" You asked looking at the princess in your arms.
"can I stay in your room?" Bridget asked softly but you still heard her.
You smiled and agreed before changing course to the direction of your bedroom.
“We stayed longer than expected.” You said as you open the door to your room, finally.
You lead Bridget's half asleep figure to your bed. Walking here was hard enough due to the heavy dresses you were wearing and the heels weren’t much help. You tried to gentle pry Bridget’s embrace from your body as you lay her down on your bed. You left out a breath of relief as you had successfully lay Bridget’s body on your bed.
After you remove the torture device on your feet that people called shoes, you started removing Bridget’s gown and her own shoes and change them to a much more comfortable sleeping attire before proceeding to remove her complicated hairdo. Then after that you pulled out the make-up remover kit on your vanity table. Gently, you stared removing the layers of makeup on Bridget’s face carefully not to wake her up and disrupt her peaceful state.
During the process, you couldn’t help but admire Bridget’s beauty as she closely examine her face, making sure no makeup was left.
For months you have been close with Bridget but never this close and intimate. You have always been there to care for her, to be here for her as she did to you in those months with each other. Unknowingly that your time together had brought feelings inside you. Feelings that you’re not quite sure what they are yet but slowly, you’re starting to realize them as time past by and you couldn’t help but fear for what it may cause and affect your relationship now.
The thought of losing Bridget, fuels the growing fear so in conclusion, you buried those feelings deep down to remain what you two have now. But sometimes you couldn’t help but wonder what would it be like. To be more than just friends.
Just imagining it made you sigh, one last look, making sure no make up was left. You smile on your work before starting to change as well.
With her last bit of consciousness, Bridget stir from her sleep, her hands started moving, searching for something. When she realize that she was alone, she lifted her head up to see you just putting on the last sleeping garment before you sat infront of your vanity mirror to remove your make-up.
Bridget couldn’t help the frown forming on her lips, you were still far from her. Slowly she got up from the comfort of your bed and wobble to your direction.
You didn’t notice Bridget had got up from bed since you had your eyes close as you remove your eye shadow. A soft squeal left you when you felt someone’s arms wrap around your shoulders.
“Bridget?” You called out to her, she was still half asleep.
“Come to bed. Please” she mumbled to your ears.
“But I’m not done removing my make up yet” you said but then what she did next was unexpected.
Bridget let you go from her embrace before placing herself on your lap,. with her legs on each side, your hand automatically rest on her waist to steady her figure. You were confuse to what was happening but you sat still as Bridget pull the wipes from the table and began to remove the rest of your make up she may be sleepy but each stroke was firm but gentle at the same time. Removing the remaining make up, she took one last look when there wasn’t any left she cupped your checks with your hands making you look into her eyes.
Bridget was still half asleep so her body was still a little unstable as she slowly leans forward, your faces were only centimeters apart now.
“You’re really pretty’” she mumbled with a smile on her face.
You couldn’t help but smile at that. Everything seems to fade around them as you gaze into each other’s eyes. But yours keeps flickering from her eyes to her lips, plump and pink even without lipstick. So close yet still so far away.
For a while, you didn’t know what you felt. At first, you thought these feelings were the same feelings you felt for Bridget, the love for a very close friend but this moment confirms your realization. You wanted her, you needed her. You wanted something more, more than just classmates, more than just friends. You wanted to be something more with her and only her.
It took everything in your power not lean in and kiss those lips, which was the only thing running in your head, her lips. But then . . .
“Are you gonna kiss me or not?” Bridget suddenly ask breaking the silence of the room.
Your eyes widen at what she said. You look back up to her eyes, wanting to make sure you heard it right. “May I?”
Bridget smile as she leans in, closing the gap between your lips. Soft. Her lips were soft. Sweet, like the strawberry short cake she baked the other day for you. And slow. She wasn’t in a hurry, and neither were you. You were both savoring the kiss.
Your stomach flutter as the warm feeling flooded you. Her scent invaded your senses and all your focus were on her lips and the warm feeling it comes with it.
You pulled away for air, already missing them but Bridget lean her forehead on yours with a smile still on her lips. “Took you long enough” she said giggling as buries her face on your neck.
You may be the princess of your kingdom but your duty is always to her, to your princess.

omggg ive really wanted to see a fluff fic where the BAU go ice skating as like a team building thing or whatever and Spencer keeps slipping and falling and holding on to the reader its so cute HISJHFSJKD
I'd pick you up and we'd go back in time | Spencer Reid x fem! Reader
just fluff!!
warnings: none
word count: 716 words
a/n: Heey! Just finished this one, it's my first ask (tysm btw!! <3). Hope you guys like it and hope i did justice to what you were imagining for the fic!!
It's the end of December and, surprisingly, you and the team are officially off duty until the next year. You guys decided to go out and have some fun, settling on the idea to go ice skating and then to dinner.
Much to the dismay of Spencer, which besides being an academic genius, did not have any talent when it came to sports. If it wasn't for the scientific evidence, he would pretty much argue that he was born without the ability to balance himself, so any activity that demanded that skill was his worst nightmare.
"C'mon, spence, I can convince the team to go to your favorite restaurant after!" You said to Spencer over the phone, after he said that he was not going.
"I don't know… you know I hate sports, I'll probably just fall and annoy you guys"
"I'll teach you, and you know you won't annoy us. Also, we really miss you." You say, in reality wanting to say "I miss you" but scared that Spencer might pick up on your hidden feelings.
He reluctantly agreed to go, but he was super nervous about it, scared that he would embarrass himself in front of his friends, or more importantly, in front of you.
—
It now was the day you and the team had agreed on going ice skating, you put on your cute winter clothes and head out to the rink.
" Hey everyone, missed you guys so much!!" You say, getting close to the group that was standing at the entrance and greeting them all
"Hi honey, you look stunning" Garcia says pulling you to a hug
"Thank you pen" You say, smiling to her. "Hey spence, i did not actually believe you we're going to come here!"
"Yeah, me either. But I decided to do some exposure therapy, actually did you guys know that it was idealized by Ivan Pavlov in the late 1800s as part of is conditioning experiments?" - Spencer says, doing his usual rambling that you found extremely adorable.
"Alright pretty boy, enough lectures, let's get in the rink" Derek says, making the team laugh.
Upon entering the place, you happily notice that besides you and the team, it was pretty much empty, giving you guys a chance to have fun without worrying about others. You guys all get your skates, and put them on. As soon as you guys step on the ice, you felt a hand holding your arm, you look over and see spencer that looked as if his life was in danger.
"It's fine spence, try standing up right and walking a bit, I'll be here to hold you so you don't fall down"
"Alright then, if I die, please make sure my books don't get mold" He says, trying to take a few steps, surprisingly he did not immediately fall down, which gave him a bit of confidence to try and actually skate, also wanting to look tough for you. "I think you don't need to hold me anymore, y/n"
"You sure Spence? Alright then" You let go of his arm and take a few steps back, still keeping a close eye on him.
Spencer was able to skate for a bit, but somehow he managed to stumble on his own feet, luckily since you were still close he tried to hold onto your arm, not so luckily, since you did not expect that, you both feel onto the ice. The whole team looked over to you guys, as you stood up and helped spencer to also get up.
You both we're blushing as the team laughed at you guys
"hey Reid, at least you fell onto a pretty girl, could be worse" Morgan said, tapping spencer's shoulder and laughing.
That made you guys blush even harder.
"Hey spence, you ok? " You say, feeling a bit guilty for making him do this
"It's fine y/n, falling is part of the fun I guess" He said, not sure he meant it but happy that he got to spend time with you outside the office.
You spent the next hour teaching Spencer, and honestly you could not be happier, he looked adorable. It was one of the best evenings you had in a long time, and it just made your silly workplace crush worse. You also paid for his favorite desert at the restaurant to thank him for giving it a chance.

I accidentally deleted this request but i still remember it. so I apologise to who requested it!
Prompt 8: Secret Santa
Prompt 19: "I know it's not much but-" "-it's perfect"
SECRET SANTA
Pairings: Eddie Munson x Fem! Summary: in which your friend group decides to do a secret Santa. and Eddie doesn't really care, not until he sees who he got. Warnings: One use of Y/n, I'm sorry, ok?!
🦌𓂃 ࣪˖ ִֶָ་༘࿐⋆꙳❆⋆.ೃ࿔*:・°°‧❆⋆.ೃ𓂃 ࣪˖ ִֶ
🦌𓂃 ࣪˖ ִֶָ་༘࿐⋆꙳❆⋆.ೃ࿔*:・°°‧❆⋆.ೃ𓂃 ࣪˖ ִֶ
Eddie dug a ringed hand into the beanie that Steve had brought around the group.
He didn't really care for this, whoever he got he was going to chuck a few chocolates and candy their way and call it a day. he didn't have the money nor the energy to actually do this activity right.
i know what you're thinking. if he didn't want to do it then why is he here, in Steve Harrington's Livingroom with all his friends doing this?
well the answer to that question is the echo of your laugh ringing in his ear as he pulled the name out of the beanie.
Steve moved on and waved the hat in front of Dustin, who was too busy trying to see who Eddie had gotten to realise it was his turn
Eddie flipped open the piece of ripped paper and there he saw your neat handwriting, your name written so perfectly.
maybe he would try.
🦌𓂃 ࣪˖ ִֶָ་༘࿐⋆꙳❆⋆.ೃ࿔*:・°°‧❆⋆.ೃ𓂃 ࣪˖ ִֶ
Eddie frowned. A week had past and he had no idea what to get you. At this point, it would be easier to slap a bar of chocolate and call it a day.
But he couldn't do that
There had to be some kind of thought behind it
If he just bought a quick snack for you to eat you would probably assume he doesn't care about you. Which is totally not true.
And what if he didn't get the brand you like? What if you were allergic to the flavour he got? What if you just didn't like chocolate
Eddie was becoming a mad man, overthinking everything.
You like music. He doesn't know what bands though
You like art, but are you more of a drawer or painter?
You like animals. But he can't get you a pet
This was so bullshit
Only girls know what to buy girls
So he went to one of the weirdest and coolest girls he knows.
"Robin, you're a girl" Eddie fidgeted as he slowed down to walk with her
The group were out in town for a lunch at the diner and he took his chance when he saw you walking at the front with Steve, ignoring the bubbling of jealousy, he stayed behind to ask Robin a question that was killing him on the inside
"Good observation skills you got there, dimwit" she snorted. Shaking her head disapprovingly
"No- I mean.. what do you buy for a girl?" He asked nervously, scratching the back of his neck
"Are we talking a little kid or do you mean a woman, Eddie?" The blonde girl replied. Of course she knows what he means, she just likes winding him up
Eddie sighed "a woman, Robin"
"And would this be for the secret santa?" Robin questioned knowingly
"Robin, just please" he begged.
Eddie needed help, he needed to know what to get you, to impress you
It was like the gods have given him a chance. And he'd be dammed if he got you a gift you hated
"You got Y/n, didn't you?" The Buckley girl asked
How does she do that? Eddie thought to himself
"No..."
"Aren't you friends with her? You should know what to get her" Robin shrugged
Which then raised the question
He is friends with you, right? He counted you as a friend, but did you count him as one?
Either way. Eddie definitely didn't talk to you as much as he'd like to.
Which makes him think, does he love you when he doesn't know anything about you
Wait.. he loves you?
"Robin, please, I'm freaking out here.. we give presents in 3 days and I have no ideas on what to get her"
"I heard her talking about how she needs a new bra the other day" his friend said casually
Eddie's steps came to a halt as he feels his whole body heat up. Robin laughs to herself seeing Eddie's red face and pink ears, blushing like a mad mad.
He can't get you a bra...isn't that.. harassment? Eddie thought to himself
"No.. I'm not getting her a new bra.. anything that isn't... weird"
"Oh well if you said not weird then I have a whole bunch of things you can get her!" Robin smiles cheerfully
That was a lie.
Robin had started blackheads at the curly headed boy who smiled back enthusiastically, asking what it is
"Eddie, you... poor man... there isn't anything you could give her that isn't weird... because its you"
Ouch.
Plan Robin was a fail.
🦌𓂃 ࣪˖ ִֶָ་༘࿐⋆꙳❆⋆.ೃ࿔*:・°°‧❆⋆.ೃ𓂃 ࣪˖ ִֶ
Eddie layed in his bed. Hands together in his chest and he stared up at his ceiling
He was supposed to be leaving in 20 minutes but he couldn't bring himself to get out of bed
Not when the plush toy stared at him from his desk, taunting him.
He can't show up to Steve's house to give you a stupid teddy bear. He'd look like a fucking idiot.
He leaned up, staring at the soft plush animal. He was told it was your favourite animal by Robin, the only semi-useful thing she had told him 3 days ago.
He frowned, it wasn't even fucking wrapped!
He got up. Going to the cupboard, he didn't have wrapping paper.. but he had old newspapers that he used to use for craft laying around. He could use that, right?
.
He glared down at the present. A lump of paper strangled by a whole roll of tape.
He wasn't the best wrapper, ok?
Eddie thumped his head on his desk, banging it until he groaned in pain, holding his temple, shaking his head
This was useless. He's not going. He can't go. He won't do it to himself.
He rubbed his hands down his face. His tired and lazy eyes met with the little figurines he had personally made for dnd.
Of course. How could he be so stupid? He cursed himself for forgetting that he had made a little figure that represented you a few months back.
It wasn't for you, per se, but he wanted to secretly incorporate you in the game. You didn't even play, so it wasn't like you could call him out saying the little elf princess resembled you.
If he gave you this it would be seen as thoughtful and maybe even flattering, that he took the time to make you. Which he did do, but this way if was less creepy.
🦌𓂃 ࣪˖ ִֶָ་༘࿐⋆꙳❆⋆.ೃ࿔*:・°°‧❆⋆.ೃ𓂃 ࣪˖ ִֶ
Eddie walked into Steve's living room, gift in hands with a sheepish smile.
Seeing you there, next to Robin, almost made his balls sweat. You looked beautiful.. you weren't gonna like his gift, but before he could turn back, Robin greeted him happily.
Jesus H Christ, Robin Buckley.
Eddie's smile tightened as you looked over, a soft smile planted on your plush lips as you said hello.
He lifted his hand to wave but slapped it back to his side quickly before going over to the tree. This was going to kill him.
He sat beside Dustin and made short conversation with the freshmen when he heard a hushed whisper of his name.
You were looking over at him when he looked back. You quickly turned away, your face flushing red as Eddie frowned
Were you making fun of him? Teasing him? Right, you must have thought you were a freak just like the rest of them.
It was hopeless, loving you. After so long you'd think he would learn to move on. Or maybe actually pack up the courage to talk to you, even in a group setting.
It was beyond you, the way he felt towards you. You assumed he didn't like you cause he never made any attempt to talk to you, and when you'd go up to start a conversation with him, he'd rush away, having something brilliant to say to Dustin. So you just gave up trying to be his friend, if he didn't like you.
But it was too late to take his gift back and run because Steve had announced it was gift time.
One by one, each member of the group went up to the tree and found the gift with their name on it.
Eddie stood up and grabbed the box, wrapped neatly in red and green wrapping paper, stuck together with a bow on the top. His name written messily on a ripped piece of paper that was taped to the top.
Dustin shook his box as Eddie sat back down, While You got up to get your gift.
Eddie nervously watched as you walked up to the tree. Looking down at the two presents left. You frowned at you picked it up, going back to your spot on the couch
You haven't even opened it and you already hated it.
Then one by one they started to open the presents. Guessing who had gifted them the present in their hands, Dustin had Guessed Lucas, Lucas had guessed Robin, Robin had guessed Mike, Mike had guessed Steve, Steve had guessed Mike, Eddie had guessed Nancy, Nancy had guessed you..
And as you opened your gift, tearing open the plush toy, your eyes immediately went to Robin, and you shook your head, smiling softly, noticing the small wrapped present.
You didn't take it out from the box as you opened it, but he could tell your reaction was mixed by the squint in your eye that was quickly replaced by a wide eye grin. Your gaze lifted and landed on Eddie.
You guessed him.
🦌𓂃 ࣪˖ ִֶָ་༘࿐⋆꙳❆⋆.ೃ࿔*:・°°‧❆⋆.ೃ𓂃 ࣪˖ ִֶ
Eddie fought to catch you before you left. Making sure he was the last person to say goodbye as you left the Harrington home.
He followed you out, right to your car door before he stopped you.
The plushie raised to your chest as you snugged the soft fur of it. The figurine you kept in the small box he had put it in, held in your hand as he smiled sheepishly at you
"I uh-" he stopped himself, itching the back of his neck
He should run while he can, save himself from the embarrassment before you turn him away.
You don't even like him, right?
"I hope you like the gifts" he settled for., eyes tearing away from yours as he lazily pointed to the plush and the box.
"I do.. their really cute, thank you" you beamed up at him
Cute? You called him cute?! -oh wait
His faint blush drained from his face when he realised he misheard you.
"I know it's not much but-" he looked down at the floor before you cut him off
"-it's perfect"
Eddie looked back up at you, eyebrows raised "Yeah?"
"Yeah" you nodded "you can never have enough toys on your bed. I swear my bed it full of them.. and the figurine, wow.. the detail is amazing, Eddie.. I can't believe you'd do that"
Of course he'd do that. Totally not for his enjoyment for making the game better, but for you to enjoy, maybe on display or in the trash, he doesn't care.
-he does-
"I know you don't play but-" he started before you cut him off again
"I was actually hoping to ask if you'd want to teach me how to play... you guys reference it so much I just wanted to understand it.. if you want to?" You asked
"Of course I want to! I mean hellfire could use someone like you" he stood up straighter
You were interested in him? Well not him but- yeah sure let's go with him, for his sake.
"Someone like me?" You questioned teasingly
"A-an elven princess" he pointed to the little box in your hand.
You hummed and smiled, looking up at him so gently it made him want to faint.
After a moment of silence, Eddie decided that was enough because if he stared at you for one more second trying not to tell (scream) that he loves you, he would break.
"Well.. merry Christmas" he smiled tightly before backing up
"Oh, Eddie, Wait" you stopped him, opening your care door and placing the gifts on your passenger seat before leaning over to the back.
Eddie stood in his place, trying not to stare at your ass as you leaned over. He closed his eyes, licking his lips.
When his eyes fluttered open again, you were right in front of him, holding out a little wrapped box with a cute bow in it.
He looked up at you, confused before you leaned up and kissed him on the cheek
"Merry Christmas, Eds"
You backed away. Your hands together, fiddling with your fingers as if you were nervous. You got in your care and shut the door when he finally realised you had given him a gift.
As as you drove away, he opened it.
Opening the small box, his heart almost skipped a beat.
It wasn't much, but to Eddie it meant everything.
It made him know that you pay attention, that maybe you care about him, maybe in the way he does you.
And it was even sweeter because you didn't have to get him anything, you weren't his Santa.
You got him a ring

Thanks to the Dare
gif credit goes to thepalmofyourfreezinghand
James Beaufort x Reader
Synopsis: The group starts the night of a party by playing truth or dare. Someone dares James and Y/N to kiss, knowing that the two had feelings for each other but didn't want to act on them. Later on, after the group gets bored and stop playing truth or dare, they go down the line admitting confessions. Y/N admits that she has never had an orgasm. James wants to be the one that gives her, her first. Happy ending. Fluff.
Sorry if this is poorly written. I might come back to it in a few days and touch it up. Finished it at 3:30 am in the morning and feeling a bit burnt out.
Warning: 18+ SUBJECT. MINORS PLEASE DO NOT INTERACT. SEXUAL ACTIVITIES ARE DESCRIBED. other mentions include alcohol. probably some swear words
The party continued to bustle around the group of seven. Cyril, Wren, Y/N, the Ellington siblings and the Beaufort twins currently sat in the living room of Cyril’s house. Wren, Alistair and Elaine sat together, with Lydia and Y/N sitting together, and Finally James and Cyril. Some of them filled the furniture while others sat on other chairs or even the floor, in the midst of the game of truth of dare.
Y/N was slightly buzzed, a glass of wine currently in her hands. A bottle of water belonging to her sat forgotten somewhere. She had attempted to keep herself hydrated while drinking throughout the night to alleviate the effects of the hangover in the morning, but that didn’t seem likely at this moment.
Cyril and Wren were definitely well on their way to getting drunk, while the rest of them were being conservative about what they were drinking and how much of it.
“Okay. Y/N. Your turn.” All faces turned to her at the sound of Cyril’s voice. She raised an eyebrow, waiting. “Truth or dare.” The last one she did was a dare, in which she had been told to sensually dance in the middle of the group. She knew for a fact that Cyril and Wren had taken a very specific delight in watching her. Alistair, Lydia and Elaine could have cared less, but she definitely didn’t miss the hint of a certain look in James’ face. He watched her, a small smirk on his face, as he watched her move and sway her hips. His reaction to it had definitely caused Elaine to be salty towards her ever since.
Her eyes turned back to Cyril, her mind made up.
“Let’s do truth.”
“Ok. Is it true…” Cyril trailed off, likely trying to think of a good one to ask her. He always wanted to know the juicy bits of a person’s life. It didn’t matter who you were. “You fancy someone, specifically within this group of seven?” Y/N rolled her eyes, not surprised in the slightest that this was the question that he would ask.
“It’s true.” She responded.
“Who?” Wren piped up, leaning forward to match the same posture that Cyril was also in. The two focused their attention on Y/N, obviously very keen on finding out who she had the hots for.
“That’s more than one question. You can ask it if I allow it the next time through.” She teased, taking a sip of her wine. Her gaze trailed over to James, who watched her with curious eyes. The smirk from several minutes ago was still pulling at his lips. Y/N put her glass of wine down as Cyril and Wren continued to whine.
“Come on. You can’t tease a man like that.” Cyril said. With the way he was acting, Y/N wouldn’t have been surprised if he suddenly got on his knees and started begging for an answer. It would be embarrassing for sure, but Y/N figured that Cyril wouldn’t have wanted to be subjected to that kind of embarrassment, and Y/N wasn’t a monster.
“I can and I will.” Y/N smirked at them. Elaine had only rolled her eyes from where she sat next to Wren and Alistair.
It had taken several moments to get Wren and Cyril to drop the subject and allow them to continue. James and Alistair had actually had to step in, pulling their attention away from Y/N and to Lydia’s, whose turn it was now, and as they continued the game, Y/N had wondered if she was safe from the potential question that was likely to be asked, and for a little bit, she was safe. Both Cyril and Wren had seemed to have forgotten about the question, and pestered the others when it was their turn to do so, asking for truths and forcing dares.
However, a certain Beaufort twin herself was a little curious on who Y/N liked, albeit she had an idea, and had therefore come to be the reason that Y/N’s peace and quiet was short lived. The Beaufort twin turned to her brother, a sweet smile on her face.
“James.” A soft hum left her brother’s throat, his attention now solely on her. He sat forward in his chair his elbows settled on his knees, awaiting the infamous question.
“Truth or Dare?” she asked. James looked around the room, giving his answer some thought. He clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth, tilting his head back and forth.
“Putting alot of serious thought into this, aren’t you?” Y/N teased, a smile hidden behind her wine glass as she took another drink. His eyes moved to hers, a look of amusement on his face before James finally looked back at his sister, and thinking that no harm would come of it, gave her his answer.
“Dare.” Her sweet smile had then turned into a devilish one and for the first time, James had wondered whether or not he should fear his sister.
“I dare you to kiss Y/N.” The jaws of Cyril, Wren, and Alistair dropped open. Of all people to have asked that dare, they did not expect it to be Lydia. Elaine looked like she could have smoke coming out of her ears. Her arms were crossed and she looked upset. Everyone knew why, which is why it would be funnier if James actually followed through with it.
Y/N hid herself, looking everywhere around the room but at the six people that were around her. It was her goal to avoid eye contact, especially with Elaine.
James stared at Y/N, taking in her appearance. He knew Elaine was burning eye holes into him at that moment, but he never did care for her. James knew that she was watching and waiting to see what would happen, but had also known better to know that she wouldn’t make much of a scene. Sure, she would probably make a snide comment or two, and maybe even try the whole cliche “oops sorry, I didn’t see you there” and spill her drink. It was a classic and a go to for every jealous silver spoon female out there.
Lydia was smirking, watching and waiting, just as Elaine was, but for a different reason. Cyril, Wren, and Alistair looked back and forth between the two, their eyes wide, but also waiting.
James' eyes had bounced between the five before he turned his attention back to Y/N. She continued to stare at anything else but them. He knew that she was only attempting to avoid the wrath of Elaine, but he had already told himself that he would prevent anything from happening should Elaine try anything.
He stood up, casting a look towards his sister, who only widened her smirk. With only a few strides, he had crossed over to stand in front of Y/N, eventually getting down on his knees to be more her height.
She finally looked at him then. His eyes searched her face, looking for any telltale sign that she didn’t want this. Yea, it was a dare, but it didn’t mean that he was going to do anything first without making sure that he had her consent. So far, she showed him nothing.
“If you don’t want to do this Y/N, we don’t have to.” Elaine snorted from somewhere beside them, and James had only rolled his eyes. Y/N stifled an amused laugh, the corner of her mouth quirking up.
“No one is saying no.” She whispered, only loud enough for the two of them to hear. “Do your best Beaufort.” James stared at her for several seconds, before surging forward and capturing her lips into a kiss. His hands cupped her cheeks, pulling her into him, feeling relieved when Y/N leaned into it. One of her hands rested on his bicep, while the other came up to tangle itself in his hair.
Catcalls and whistles could be heard coming from Wren and Cyril. Lydia and Alistair had watched as Elaine stood up and walked away, obviously not liking the display in front of her. No one cared, except Alistair, who knew that Elaine liked James, but he himself wasn’t sure if she actually liked James or had just liked him for his name and the riches that came with it.
“Alright you two, get a room.”
James and Y/N finally pulled apart, breathing heavily as they looked at each other for several minutes before turning around to face the others. James remained seated next to her and the group, minus Elaine, had continued their game of Truth or Dare.
However, eventually the group had grown tired of playing truth or dare and had resorted to making confessions that either no one or most people didn’t know about them.
Y/N listened to most of the confessions that were being said. Cyril was held back in his earlier years of school, prior to coming to Maxton and meeting them. Lydia went a deeper route, confessing something about their parents and the family business. James had nodded along slightly with that, as if he understood where she was coming from. Of course he did. He lived the same life, and Y/N knew all about it.
Her eyes trailed down to their thighs, brushing up against each other ever so slightly. She listened to James' confession.
"I've never loved anyone I've been with. It's just been for pleasure. Especially Elaine." He looked at Alistair and apologized. "No offense." Alistair raised his hands in understand, having taken no offense from it. He knew how his sister could be. Alistair experienced it more than the others. "Although, there is one that I have my sights on." He admitted. Wren and Alistair went on to do their own confessions, Cyril jumping in to admit some more.
But Y/N had turned her attention to James. She looked up at him, her eyes tracing his jawline, the scar on his cheek, the way his hair fall in a soft manner around his face. She watched as his eyes moved to look at her out of the corner of his eyes, and Y/N watched as a soft smile pulled at his lips.
She ran the image of the kiss back through her head, glad that she was sitting, as she grew weak in the legs.
"Hey, Y/N." She finally turned her attention to the others, who all were now staring at her, James also included.
"It's your turn to confess." Wren stated. "You haven't made a confession yet.
"Goodness. You guys are acting like we are in church, and I just committed a sin." Some of them stifled a laugh while the other cracked a smile.
"Who knows. Maybe you did." Cyril added, wriggling his eyebrows. Y/N rolled her eyes, trying to think of something to confess.
Then she paused, her eyes trailing across the group. Many would see this as surprise, as she has sexually interacted with ex boyfriends or one-night stands. But they were never good enough.
"I've never had an orgasm." Jaws dropped open as she looked around the group, thankful that Elaine had walked away earlier in the night.
"What?" Cyril asked.
"I've never had an-"
"It was a rhetorical question, no need to answer it."
James looked down at her in question.
"Haven't you had-"
"I have. But none of the ones I did it with were ever good enough to get me to that point." She explained. "The sex was really poor." Lydia stifled a laugh, in which Y/N smiled in response. "Your sister may know more than she lets on." James glanced between the two, a twinkle appearing in his eye, a smirk upon his lips.
He then turned his attention back to the rest of the group, as they lost their minds at Y/N's confession. She found it amusing in fact, as both Cyril and Wren both refused to believe that her confession was the truth.
It was known that she slept with a few, mostly old boyfriends, but those boyfriends were boys, and didn't know exactly how to actually treat a lady.
--- SMUT BEYOND THIS POINT. MINORS, PLEASE DON'T INTERACT
After a little bit more time had passed, Y/N had stood up addressing that she needed to use the bathroom really quick. James watched her go, downed the rest of his drink, and claimed he was going for a refill. The others watched the two leave, suspecting that neither of them would be back anytime soon.
Upon walking out of the bathroom, Y/N had been pushed against the wall, looking up to see James. The stance he had over her made her weak in the knees.
"James?"
He leaned forward, keeping eye contact with her. James maintained eye contact with her for several moments, before he leaned forward some more, until his lips brushed gently against her eye. She shivered, and she could feel the smirk form on his lips.
"You want to know what an orgasm feels like?" He asked, his breath fanning hotly against the side of her face. And just like that, arousal filled her entire body. A low whine escaped her lips and James pulled back to look her in her face.
"Words, sweetheart. I don't know what you want unless you tell me."
"Are You making a promise, Beaufort?" His blue eyes grew darker with arousal.
"It's not a promise, love. It's a guarantee." After a few more seconds of the two staring at each other, they pulled each other in for a kiss. It was sloppy, and definitely spoke true to the moment and their desires. James looped his arms around her thighs, hoisting her up so she could wrap her legs around his waist. He made his way towards a guest bedroom, one that he dubbed as his whenever he stayed over.
James made easy work of opening the door and closing it behind him. He wasn't wasting any time. He wanted to spend as much time as he could, showing Y/N how she should be treated.
Y/N fell backward onto the bed with a soft 'oof', staring up at James as he stared down at her. She grew self-conscious, her cheeks growing red as she grew flustered.
"Absolutely gorgeous." He crawled onto the bed, pressing kisses up her neck and along her jaw. When he finally reached her lips, he pressed his hands against her body, slipping underneath her shirt and trailing softly across the expanse of her stomach. She gasped at the touch and James reveled in, moving his hands and helping her take the shirt off.
He sat back, taking in her appearance. She stared at him with hooded eyes, drunk with arousal. Y/N was an angel. A bright light in the shadows of darkness that he had hidden himself inside. She was a positive and happy thing in the life that his father had forced on him.
James brought his hands up to his shirt, unbuttoning it until he was able to slip it off and tossed it towards the floor, joining her own shirt. He watched as her eyes immediately moved down to his chest and stomach, taking in the appearance. She raised a hand, reaching out for him.
Taking her hand, she pulled him back on top of her, pulling him back into a kiss. His hands moved up her waist, one wrapping around her back and unclasping her bra. It joined their shirts on the floor. His hands grabbed her boobs, his thumbs rubbing her nipples.
She gasped into his mouth, arching her back as he grinded against her.
"If we are going too fast, we can slow down."
"What if I like it fast?" A low groan rumbled in his chest. He felt her smirk against his mouth, and grinded into her again, instantly turning the smirk into a whine.
Her hands went down and started messing with the buttons to his pants. When it proved a bit difficult, and she couldn't get it undone, she stopped.
"Help, please." James huffed out a soft chuckle, before sitting upright and doing it for her, shucking his pants down his legs as Y/N took the time to take hers off as well. He leaned back down to kiss her again. The kiss was sloppy and heated. James grabbed her thighs, looping them around his waist as he started to grind against her again. Y/N's head fell back against the bed, a low whine falling from her throat as James watched her, taking in her reactions and drowning in him. He wanted to absolutely ravish her.
His head fell into the crook of her neck, enjoying the noises that fell from her throat as he pressed lingering and bruising kisses to her neck and shoulder.
"James." She gasped out. He let out a hum.
"Yes, sweetheart." He spoke between kisses.
"I-fuck" she let out a noise mixed between a gasp and whine when he grinded particularly hard against her. "Need you." He pressed another kiss to her lips before he moved down her body, taking in the sigh she released. James kissed down her body, maintaining eye contact with her as he did so. His lips pressed softly against her stomach, trailing down to her thighs. James let his fingers run over her body, trailing softly and causing her to shiver beneath him, goosebumps forming on her skin.
"I got you sweetheart." He murmured softly against her thigh. His hands looped gently into her panties, pulling them down her legs and tossing them onto the floor as well. James looked up at her, making sure that she was okay to continue, and if the look of pure bliss and arousal on her face wasn't enough to tell him to continue, he wasn't sure what would.
Y/N pulled him back up to her as he slipped two fingers inside of her. He started slowly, thrusting his fingers in and out, letting her adjust to the sensation. She had pulled him into another kiss, this time slower than the first ones. Her arms were wrapped around his shoulders.
One of his hands had one of her legs folded and pushed towards her chest. His thumb rubbed her clit, drinking in the gasps that she let out as they kissed. He leaned into the kiss, putting a bit more force into it as he quickened the pace with his fingers.
When his chest starting to burn, telling him that he needed to breathe, he pulled away and looked down at where his fingers disappeared inside of her. Her own eyes followed his, soft whines and whimpers falling from her lips.
James dipped his fingers down to where his fingers disappeared inside of her pussy, replacing his thumb with his lips. A gasped escaped her chest, and her back arched, a whine getting stuck in her throat and her breathing picked up. James was drowning in her, flicking his tongue against her clit, watching as she slowly became unraveled beneath him.
"That's it sweetheart. Such a good girl." He murmured quietly. After a few more seconds, he pulled his fingers out of her. James scooted up, listening as she whined at the loss. He knew she was close to an orgasm and that he had denied it to her.
"You still want to do this?" he asked. Y/N nodded, and James used his mouth to rip open a condom, sliding it on. He pressed the tip to her pussy, giving her a few seconds before he started to slowly push inside of her. She let out a gasp and he stopped, allowing her to adjust before he continued again, until he was finally all the way inside.
James proceeded to give her some more time to adjust, before he started to thrust in and out. Immediately, he had gotten her to the point where she was before he withdrew his fingers. Soft whines and whimpers escaped her throat and mixed with the grunts and groan that he let fall from between his lips. Her arms wrapped back around his shoulders, and he had looped her legs around his waist.
His head fell into the crook of her neck, groaning at the feeling of her around his cock. James never wanted to leave this moment, especially after he had been thinking about this moment for so long, and it had turned out better than he had previously expected.
"Fuck, Y/N." He captured one of her boobs in his mouth, his tongue flicking over the nipple while his other hand fondled the other. His free hand come down and vigorously rubbed against her clit.
She let out a sharp gasp, her head falling back against the bed, her back arching, and nails digging into his back. He let out a grunt, pulling his face away from her boob to watch as his cock disappeared in and out of her. Her breathing had begun to quicken, her whimpers and whines had turned into soft gasps.
James turned his attention to her.
"That's it sweetheart. You're almost there aren't you? You feel it building up." He spoke softly to her, watching as she nodded, and quickened the pace of his thrusts. He watched her every reaction. The way her eyes clenched shut, her thighs clamped around him. He felt her nails dig into his back, and even if it might hurt in the morning, he didn't care.
And then suddenly she let out a sharp gasp, her eye lids fluttered and then her eyes rolled to the back of her head. She let out high pitched whine, before it was as if she forgot how to breathe. Her body shook and as her pussy clenched around his cock, it threw him over the edge as well. Pleasure filled their bodies as they reached orgasm, their noises filled the air before they finally quieted down, and soft sighs and heavy breathing filled the room.
James threw the used condom into the bathroom trash, and came out with a warm wet washcloth, with the intention to clean Y/N, and after doing so, he crawled into the bed with her.
She immediately scooted closer to him, nestled close to his chest. James wrapped his arms around her, pressing a gently kiss to the crown of her heads. And just like that, the two of them laid in silence, taking in the post coital bliss.
Y/N drew lazy patterns against his chest, when she finally spoke.
"I don't want this to be a onetime thing." James took in what she said, a smile forming on his face as he wrapped his arms tighter around her. His hand rubbed lazily up and down her back, taking in the feeling of her being pressed up against him.
After several moments, he lifted Y/N's face so that she was staring at him. His eyes searched for any signs of a lie in her own, and when he saw none, he pulled her in for a soft and gentle kiss.
"Me too. It was always going to be you, Y/N. I want you, and no one else."

MY BOOGIE SHOES, JUST TO BOOGIE WITH YOU.
he moved his left foot backward in a smooth motion, sliding across the slick, slightly scoffed, pine theatre stage. two blue overhead spotlights had shone down onto him, highlighting and allowing the golden sequins along his black-costume pants to sparkle and glimmer. the sharp, metal heels of his four-taps no longer producing sound . .. . the active trumpet-players, acoustic guitarists, and drummers eased and eased their instruments into a low twinkle —
— the audience knew what time it was. another character was about to be introduced. in the orchestra pit, the conductor quickly switched her attention to the violinists and flute-players, baton up in the air and readied for the new entrance. the elder english woman gave the group a small cue, flicking her wrist in beat: 1, 2, 3, 4. and as the violins, violas and cellos came in quiet and steady . .. . the male dancer at the far end of the stage reached up and slowly removed the costume fedora from his neatly styled hair, staring over to his stage left.
your beautiful, brilliant and glittery gold mary-jane style tap shoes clicked as you gracefully entered from stage left — the gold fringes of your body-con mini dress flapped and swung every which way as you rolled your costume glove over your right hand, the music coming from the violins and flute-players transforming into something hot and seductive.
your glove snug — the trumpets have returned, this time with the trombones and horns, easy and gentle — with what looked to be absolutely effortless, your body control impeccable, you swayed toward your dance partner. and once as close as rehearsed, you slid your left foot backward; lining yourself up with your partner, you raised your arms neatly, fingers almost wiggling.
your partner snaked an arm around your waist, his opposite hand sensually caressing the under side of your arm — his fingers tightened on your ribs. you felt his plump lips brush against the soft skin of your neck, you don’t hold back a mini smile. and after a thirty-second sleek, clean sequence of sneaky smirks, lustful eyes, gyrating hips, and chasing each other’s feet with mirroring steps on beat — you and your partner stand center stage; he had just spun you out and away and reeled you back in, unable to give you up. you’re overlooking the hungry crowd, toe to toe, hips pressed into each other’s . .. .
the conductor slowly lifted her baton, the orchestra picking up their pace just a bit . .. . more dancers began to take the stage, ten men on one end and ten women on the other, all styled to absolute perfection — you ripped away from your partner, his hand lingering in the air as you hurry toward the women. you strike a pose and the women behind you follow suite, just as clean and precise. the men chuckle amongst themselves, lips moving but nothing being said. your partner took his place in front of the men, eyeing you down.
the blue spotlights went out and back in on beat; this time colored red. the percussion picking up intensity . .. . the atmosphere no longer showcasing love and attraction, but lust and obsession — the red spotlights darkened and blinked in and out powerfully, percussion played fast and with high energy, the string and horn instruments carried out in unison, background voices sounding . .. .
nicholas chavez, anxiously chewing at the skin of his fingers, watched as the other casted dancers performed with everything they had — his eyes working even harder to follow you around. he stopped chewing at his skin then, trying to focus his eyes on you; he couldn’t do the two at the same time. different variations of gold leotards and ruffled dresses and flown pantsuits, the maracas, xylophone — so much was happening at once. portraying chaos perfectly.
every time he found you, he had lost you just as quick. nicholas shifted in the cushioned chair a bit, mindful of the young woman sitting behind him — the saxophones and trumpets intensified, the gold-clad dancers continued shuffling and leaping up and down and around the large pine stage, metal heels touching down with the beats.
the entire stage was bathed in deep, sultry red light, casting long, dramatic shadows over each dancer — the red hue seemed to pulse with the rhythm of the music, bodies moved with precision and purpose, every step choreographed to build toward the crescendo of the performance. the audience watched in awe — nicholas’ eyes never leaving your amazing form — the dancers' figures sharp and striking against the glowing backdrop.
each dancer’s silhouette was satiny, their limbs cutting through the air like blades as they glided to their spots. and as the music swelled, the dancers reached their final positions, holding their forms in an intense, powerful tableau. their bodies arched and poised, chins tilted upwards with defiance, hands spread in graceful curves or clutched at their hips in dominance. the red light drenching them, casting their figures into stark, dramatic silhouettes — elegant and imposing, yet full of tension.
their shadows stretched behind them, larger-than-life, as if their presence demanded more than the stage could contain. the audience held its breath, the stillness of the final pose amplifying the raw energy. it was a picture of controlled power, desire, and neat mess.
the world beyond the stage faded, and all that was left were the figures frozen in that moment — red and black, light and shadow — a vision of drama and allure, like something out of a fevered dream. then, as the final note lingered in the air, the curtain slowly began to close up.
you were curled up on the couch, still basking in the soft afterglow of the evening. your legs draped over nicholas’ lap, the warmth from his hand gently tracing heart-shape patterns on your ankle. the exhaustion from your final show was settling in, but being home with him — no more hotels, no more cast gatherings, no more living through an intense schedule; eight shows a week — felt like the perfect ending to an overwhelming night.
nicholas shifted beneath you, the faintest grin pulling at his lips. “you know .. .” he hummed casually, “.. . i’ve been thinking.” that was never good. you respond with a low groan, rubbing your tired eyes, “no. i’m not doin’ it.”
“can i-i’ve gotta get it out first before you tell me ‘no’,” he said, nudging your arm. “i don’t want a lot or anything .. y’know, crazy. i just want your help.”
you stopped rubbing your eyes, dropping your hand down into your lap. you gave a look that said: ‘go on’ and he did, giving your ankle a loving squeeze: “i want you to teach me how to dance.” he sounded serious, but you couldn’t exactly tell. you blinked, face and gaze blank and revealing nothing. you turned back to the television, an early episode of glee rolling.
nicholas stood up then, gently moving your legs off of his lap. he reached out his hand toward you. you had performed so beautifully with your dance partner, nicholas wanted to move with you the same. “nicholas .. .” you stared at his outstretched hand, then back up at him, “sit back down. seriously.”
“come’on.” his brown eyes soft but determined. “just a little bit. five minutes, hmm?” he was hopeful, still waiting for you. “i’ll take anything. anythin’ i can get, okay? i’ll be grateful for whatever.” you shook your head as an answer and laid back into the plush cushion, arms crossing over your chest. “nic . .. . you can’t dance,” you said in a simple, matter-of-fact voice — not trying to be harsh or mean, and nicholas didn’t take it as such.
he knew he couldn’t. “well, baby, that’s why i’m asking you to teach me.” you looked to his big hand; he made a gentle grabby motion twice, urging you — and back up your eyes went. “i can’t teach rhythm.” nicholas dropped his hand with a hoarse grumble. you sighed, feeling your body protesting the idea of getting up, but the way nicholas was still looking down at you, with that mix of earnestness and affection, made you give in. with a groan, you held out your hand — nicholas smiled wide and pulled you to your feet.
“five minutes.”
“all i need,” nicholas confirmed with a silly smile, dragging you over to the other side of the couch. your shared apartment wasn’t spacious, for no apartment was this side of queens, new york. your deep-grey tabby cat, ruby; the world’s most mischievous kitty, climbed back in through the open window and landed on her feet, gracefully. after an afternoon of racing up and down the fire-escape and most of the block ( ruby, though mischievous, was a friendly animal ), she was ready to be in her bed.
her bed; nicholas’ pillow.
“okay, so what’s first?” nicholas clapped his hands together, anticipating the next five minutes. “music,” you said, reaching down for your phone in between the couch cushions. “oh, how about from your show? i really love the gold one, what’s that song’s name?” he went over and picked up the musical’s playbill, flipping through the first couple of pages, “that song .. when you come out for the first time and look hot?” you almost laugh, unlocking your phone and scrolling through your music. “i’m not teachin’ you that, nic.”
“look, baby, if you’re worried about there not being enough room, let’s not worry, we can move this couch around some .. . throw the cat back outside-“ you stopped him right there, “or you can get out?” nicholas laughed at that, apologizing softly, coming up behind you. his hands found your waist and his chin dug into the skin of your shoulder, watching as your finger scrolled and scrolled. your finger touched down then, the bluetooth speaker in the corner coming to life immediately.
it started off as slow, lazy dancing in the living room to random musical theatre soundtracks . .. . the moonlight streaming through the large open windows, casting cool white rays over the hardwood floors — but quickly turned into a party.
you slid in from the hall opening, wearing oversized socks, loose basketball shorts, and a baggy football jersey; from nicholas’ side of the closet, your body rocking to the rhythm. you’re holding a wooden spoon, it’s your imaginary microphone, dramatically lip-syncing to bruce springsteen’s dancing in the dark, your expression playful and exaggerated.
nicholas was in the kitchen, a spatula in his hands and dragging his fingers along the handle as if it were an electric guitar, wearing a goofy grin. he’s wearing fuzzy socks, slipping across the floor, attempting to match your moves, his brown hair messy, his shirt half-tucked — this impromptu dance-off felt as though it had been going on for hours. nicholas moved to you, your energy completely in sync, lost in the fun of the moment.
you twirled away, laughing as you swung around the kitchen island, your socks giving you just the right amount of glide across the floor. you threw a hand up, pointing at nicholas like a pop star mid-performance, mouthing bruce springsteen’s lyrics. nicholas laughed, feigning a swoon, then slid back toward you, pulling you into a silly two-step.
and now you’re in the hallway again, where you’re at his side, arm wrapped around him, shuffling in time with the beat. you and nicholas sing together now, the music barely audible over your screaming voices, off-key but full of love.
you pushed nicholas away with a playful shove — he stumbled dramatically and recovered in seconds, lip-syncing passionately. as passionate as before. maybe even more so.
you end up in the living room, this time nicholas was spinning you around — as you twirl and spin with your boyfriend, the music grew louder. your body moved with his perfectly, not with precision or control, but with the kind of ease that comes from knowing each other so well. nicholas pulled you in close, your face just inches from his . .. . he’s grinning down at you like a kid, heart racing and thrashing cutely.
bruce springsteen faded smoothly into tears for fears — nicholas started his air guitar again and you bounced toward the kitchen, grabbing your wooden spoon again. braids flipped over one shoulder, you lifted yourself up onto the island in time for the first verse of everybody wants to rule the world. swinging your dangling feet and rocking your head side to side to the drums, you sang into the spoon.
and by the instrumental break, you and nicholas are skating through the hall, singing and dancing with reckless abandon, whirling and dipping, in your own little world. you’re breathless, your face flushed with laughter — watching nicholas overdo the solo guitar outro from where you sat on the couch’s armrest. he dropped onto his knees and rolled onto his back, his feet kicking into the air.
and as the strumming died, you collapsed back onto the couch in a heap, panting and drinking from nicholas’ cold bottle of pepsi. you and nicholas both jumped up startled hearing the grating pound of fists at the front door — ruby sprung from where she laid and ran around hysterically, you and nicholas scrambled to get up; you rushed behind the couch to quickly turn the blasting speaker down and he went to the front door. nicholas was squinting through the peephole, “fuck-it’s minnie .. .” ms. minnie from two doors down hated loud noises.
but she hated the young people scattered along the fourth floor even more.

Chapter 16: Sparring
Pairings: Poly141xOC
Warnings: Military inaccuracies, fighting (sparring)
A/N: This was meant to be the Soap date chapter but I got a little lost, so the next chapter will be the Soap date
The next morning Aurora rises to her usual alarm and dresses in a pair of sports leggings, a military t-shirt that she cut into a tight-fitting cropps tank top, and a gray hoodie. She throws her hair in a ponytail and glances at her phone as she hears it ding,
Soap: It’s my day today Bonnie, me, and the lads have a small training session after breakfast, sparring, then I’m all yours. You’re welcome to come watch, see me beat up Gaz, get that Omega blood flowing ;)
Aurora laughs as she shakes her head at him while lacing up her sneakers. She sticks her phone in her pocket and heads to the mess. She sees all the boys already there as she sits down with her tray and begins eating. She watches as Ghost sniffs before looking at her, an eyebrow raised under his mask. Aurora sniffs herself realizing she still reeks of Johnny and Kyle after yesterday’s activities, causing a blush to grace her cheeks. John smirks into his coffee as Kyle and Johnny share a triumphant smile between the two of them.
“Are you going to come to watch us practice this morning Bonnie?” Johnny asks and Aurora smiles as she nods. “I might as well, but watch it, I might jump in and take you down,” she says playfully and Johnny lets out a small groan. “Don't threaten me with a good time Lass.” He says as Aurora shakes her head with a laugh. John nods as he looks at Aurora. “It might be good for you to jump in, I’ve seen your files, and you're quick. Show these men it's not all about brute force.” He says playfully and Aurora’s inner Omega preens at the vote of confidence from the pack Alpha.
The group finishes eating and heads off towards the training gym. As they walk Kyle throws an arm over Aurora’s shoulder. “You have two days until your heat? Have you thought about the whole losing your virginity thing more?” Kyle says quietly, causing Aurora to squeak with embarrassment. “Kyle!” She says as she reaches over and swats the back of his head causing him to let out a small laugh. “I’m just saying if you do. I would ask whoever you want your Alpha to end up being. It would probably make it a lot easier.” He says as he shrugs. “My money is on Ghost. I think you two have the most chemistry and the way you react to each other is pretty telling of a natural Alpha and Omega relationship.” He says as Aurora nods. “That makes sense, but I don’t know. I need to figure it out soon. “She sighs as they walk into the gym.
Aurora stands with the guys as John gathers them to discuss their training session for the day. After a moment he smiles as he grabs Aurora’s shoulder. “Why don’t you pair with Kyle? I think that would be good for you, let him see how a smaller opponent works.” He smiles before leaning down to whisper. “Knock him on his ass for me sweetheart. I think he could use being taken down a few pegs.” He says as Aurora smiles and nods. Aurora strips off her hoodie and she hears a small groan from Kyle and Johnny. She and Kyle head to the mat as John explains that the winner is whoever pins the other one on the mat first. Aurora nods as she closes her eyes for a moment, stepping into the role of not just Aurora but Feral, her callsign, her namesake, what makes her truly formidable on the field. When she opens her eyes her posture is more sure, her eyes a little sharper, it is obvious the girl standing on the mat isn't the meek Omega they’ve been seeing, but it is truly Feral.
“Come on, Aurora,” Kyle says, his voice deep and teasing. “You sure you want to do this?” Aurora tilts her head, her eyes narrowing mischievously. “What? You afraid you’ll lose to a little Omega?”Kyle chuckles, rolling his shoulders and cracking his neck. “Afraid? Me? Never. But you might want to rethink this. I’m a bit bigger than you.”He smirks. “ I know,” she says, her voice light, but there is something in her gaze that suggests she had more than just size on her mind. “That’s why I’m going to have to outsmart you.”
Kyle laughs again, his confidence growing. “Good luck with that, princess. I’ll be nice and gentle, promise.” He says with a smile. “Oh, I’m not worried,” she says, flicking her hair over her shoulder with a cocky smile. “Let’s just see how gentle you are when I win.” Without another word, Kyle lungs forward, his big arms reaching for her, but Aurora is quick on her feet. She dances to the side, agile and fast, making him miss her by a hair. She flashes him a playful smirk before darting behind him. Kyle blinks, then spins around, but it is too late. Aurora had already dropped to the ground, sliding between his legs, and before he knew it, she had a firm grip on his ankles. With a swift tug, she yanks him off balance, sending him stumbling.
“Whoa, hey!” Kyle grunts, his balance teetering as he crashes to his knees. He catches himself before he completely falls, but the smirk has faded from his face as Aurora grins up at him. “I thought you were bigger and stronger?” she teases, hands on her hips. He glares playfully at her as he pushes himself back up. “You got lucky. I’ll get you this time, don’t worry.” Kyle takes a step toward her, but this time Aurora doesn’t move. Instead, she tilts her head, her lips curving into a knowing smile. “Oh, I don’t think so. You’re gonna have to do better than that.”She says with a smirk.
Before he can react, Aurora shoots forward, but this time she doesn’t go for his legs. Instead, she slips behind him and gives a light shove to his back. Kyle stumbles forward, off-balance, but just as he is about to recover, Aurora darts around him again, faster than before. She has him on the ropes, and she knows it. Kyle turns, trying to grab her, but she is already a step ahead, ducking under his arm and darting behind him again. This time, she catches his wrist with a swift movement, tugging his arm behind his back. “Hey! That’s cheating!” Kyle almost whines though he couldn’t hide the smile tugging at his lips.
“Cheating?” Aurora’s voice is low, teasing, as she leans in close, her breath warm against his ear. “I thought you like a little challenge.” She has to fight to keep her Omega self at bay, his smell enticing to her as it darkens with arousal as their fight continues. He shivers involuntarily, but instead of pulling away, he leans in slightly, his voice rougher now. “You think you can just outsmart me like this?” He says, his voice a small growl. Aurora’s fingers dig gently into the back of his hand, her grip firm, but not painful. “I don’t think so, Kyle. I know it.”
He grunts and tries to twist his wrist free, but her hold is solid. She is relentless, using his size against him. And, god, she was making this way too fun. "What's the matter, big guy? You seem to be losing," she teases, giving his hand a little tug, forcing his arm higher behind his back. Kyle growls playfully. "I'm just... letting you think you're winning." Aurora's grin widens, and she gives his wrist another nudge, forcing him to lean forward just a bit more. She could feel the heat of his body against hers now, and her pulse quickened, a mixture of victory and arousal bubbling up inside her. She faintly registers both of their scents changing in the small room.
"And what exactly am I supposed to think you're doing, huh?" she whispers, her voice suddenly lower, closer to his ear. Kyle's breathing hitches slightly, his voice rougher now, filled with a mixture of challenge and admiration. "You think you're gonna pin me down like this, huh? What's next, princess? Gonna take me down with those little hands of yours?" Kyle says playfully. Aurora smirks, enjoying the way he was starting to lose his cool. She gave his wrist a playful squeeze, making him flinch. "Maybe I am," she murmurs, her lips brushing against the side of his neck, so close to his scent gland that Kyle lets out a small whimper. "You're not exactly fighting very hard.” She says before leaning to whisper in his ear, “But I bet I know what is hard.” A small giggle escapes her as he releases an exasperated growl.
He curses under his breath, his chest tightening with a mix of frustration and something much less easy to label. "You... you're gonna pay for this," he growls, though his tone lacks the usual confidence. But Aurora wasn’t backing down. She leans in just a little more, and with a quick flick of her wrist, she uses his momentum to push him forward. Kyle stumbles, his hands landing on the mat in front of him, and Aurora drops onto his back, securing him in a playful, triumphant hold. And just like that, she had him pinned. Her smaller frame was comfortably seated on top of him, her hands still holding his wrists above his head. He was caught, and his pride thoroughly shattered.
Aurora let out a soft laugh, her face hovering inches above his. Scent gland. “See? I told you I’d win.” Kyle groans beneath her, his breath quick and shallow. “Alright, alright. You win,” he admits, though there was a sparkle in his eye. “But next time… I’ll be the one calling the shots.” Aurora leans in closer, her lips brushing against his ear once more. “You can try,” she whispers, her tone playful but full of challenge. Kyle’s breath hitches, and for a moment, the teasing turns into something heavier, more charged. The two stare at each other before John clears his throat. “I think that makes Aurora the winner.” He calls out and Aurora jumps up, as if remembering they had an audience. Aurora smiles as she walks over to Johnny who is exclaiming excitedly over what he witnessed.
“The wee little Omega took you down that easily there Gaz?” Johnny’s playful voice calls out. “She’s faster than she looks, McTavish! I’d like to see you try.” Kyle grumbles as Johnny smirks, looking Aurora up and down. “ I think I can take the wee Lass. What do you say, Bonnie?” Johnny’s voice calls out, a smirk on his lips as Aurora looks over at John for approval. John gives a small nod, a twinkle in his eye as he looks at her. He knew Aurora could handle Kyle and Johnny, he had no doubt in his mind. Aurora smiles as she heads to join Johnny who had already walked to the mat.
Johnny stood in the center of the mat, grinning as he sized up his opponent. Aurora’s muscles were taut and her body fluid with readiness. She stood a few feet away, hands already raised in a mock defensive stance. The difference in their sizes was obvious, Johnny was tall, broad-shoulders, and solid, a towering presence compared to Aurora's compact frame, but she was nimble, quick, and full of energy.
"Ready to get taken down?" Aurora teases, bouncing on her toes. Her grin was mischievous, and her eyes gleamed with excitement. Johnny chuckles, rolling his shoulders to loosen up. "Oh, I’m not worried Bonnie. You should be more concerned about your ankles, though. You know how easily I can trip you up, right?" He smirks. Aurora shot him a playful glare. "You wish. Just try to catch me, big guy."
The match began with a rush. Johnny lunges, his reach making it seem like he’d have no trouble cornering her. But Aurora was already gone, a blur of motion slipping around him, dancing out of his grasp with ease. Her movements were a combination of grace and speed, fluid but deceptively powerful. "Too slow," she teases, her voice light as she darts behind him, tapping his shoulder lightly before moving again. "Come on, you’re supposed to be the big bad man here, I'm the small little Omega. Show me what you’ve got." She says her voice is full of playfulness.
Johnny, trying to adjust to her movements, grins. "Oh, I’m just getting warmed up, Lass don’t worry." He threw a wide, sweeping punch, but Aurora was already darting several feet away, laughing. "You know, if you keep this up, you might hurt yourself before you hurt me," she says, a playful glint in her eyes. She slips behind him again, grazing his side with a quick, soft jab before skipping back.
He turns to face her, trying to catch her, but she was fast, always a step ahead. Her laughter, light, and teasing, kept ringing in his ears, pushing him to move quicker, to be better. Suddenly, she changes her tactic. With a feigned stumble, Aurora made it look like she tripped. Johnny, thinking he’d caught an opening, charges at her with a grin, ready to knock her down. But it was a trap. As soon as he lungs, she ducks low, spinning around his body with expert precision. Before Johnny knew what was happening, she swept his legs out from under him, sending him sprawling onto the mat.
For a moment, Johnny was stunned, staring down at the mat trying to catch his breath. Aurora wastes no time. In one fluid motion, she was on top of him, straddling his back with a triumphant laugh. “Gotcha!” she declares, her voice full of playful mockery. Johnny, now pinned with his chest to the mat, groans. “Alright, alright, you got me, Bonnie.” he huffs, breathing hard. Aurora grins down at him, her knees resting firmly on either side of his body. “Looks like you’re at my mercy now,” she teases, leaning in closer, her voice a low purr. “What’s it like, big guy? Feeling a little... overpowered?” She let out a small purr as she gave a bite to his neck, a little harder than she intends resulting in a small mark. Johnny lets out a loud growl as she giggles. John clears his throat and Aurora quickly gets up and walks over to him with a small smile.
Kyle laughs as Johnny got up. “I told you she’s faster than she looks!” He yells out, a small whine in his voice. Aurora smiles as John clasps a proud hand on her shoulder. A low growl is heard and Aurora spins around to be almost chest to chest with Ghost who’s looking down at her, his eyes zeroed in on her. “Want to try me now Little One?” He says, his voice a low growl as he watches her body language. Aurora tries to fight the small shiver that threatens to go down her spine at the way he is looking down at her. “I think it’s only fair, the Betas got to see you up close, I think it’s my turn.” He says and Aurora stares up at him defiantly before nodding. She knew she wouldn’t beat him but she would damn sure make sure it wasn’t easy for him.
Ghost smiles as he walks to the mat, staring Aurora down. “I won’t go easy on you Little Omega. I want to see what you’re truly capable of.” He says, his voice a low growl. The gym was quiet except for the sound of shifting feet and the soft rustling of fabric against skin. Aurora stood at one end of the mat, her muscles coiled with anticipation. Across from her, Ghost looms, a mountain of a man whose silent presence was almost as intimidating as his size. He wasn’t just big he was massive, a wall of muscle, his movements slow but deliberate like a predator sizing up its prey.
Aurora cracks her neck and bounces lightly on her toes, trying to keep the energy flowing in her small, agile frame. Ghost, on the other hand, simply stares, his dark eyes observing her with that unnerving stillness. "You’re fast, little one," Ghost says, his tone low, almost a growl. "But speed won’t save you." He says, his eyes boring into hers.
Aurora smirks, her eyes glinting with mischief. "You’re about to find out," she replies, her voice playful yet tinged with the edge of challenge. Without another word, the match began. Ghost moves like a shadow, large arms swinging in powerful, slow arcs. His strikes were heavy and deliberate, but Aurora was quicker. She darts to the side, slipping through the gaps in his defenses, a flash of movement with each step. Her punches were precise, aimed at his midsection, trying to chip away at his towering frame. But for every strike she lands, Ghost barely flinches. He was a wall. Every time she came too close, his hand would whip out, grabbing her wrist with frightening strength and tossing her to the side like a doll. She lands on her feet, quick as ever, but the cost of his blows was starting to show in her breathless gasps.
“Little one,” Ghost murmurs, stepping forward, his movements unhurried. His hand shot out, brushing dangerously close to her face as she dodges again. "You’re going to have to try harder." He says, his voice almost teasing. Aurora was fast, but Ghost was relentless. She moves with grace, but he moves with purpose, and he was catching up. Every time she aims a jab, Ghost was there, blocking, countering, never giving her a chance to fully control the pace. And with each moment, the air between them grew charged, heavy with unspoken tension. She couldn’t deny it, there was something about the way Ghost moves that sent a shiver down her spine. The air in the small room was thick with the sweet scent of Omega and the dark scent of Alpha, almost choking the others.
Their eyes met for a brief, electric second, and Aurora felt a smirk tug at her lips. "You think you’ve got me figured out?" she taunts, darting around him, keeping her voice light even though her heart was pounding in her chest. "I know you’re fast," Ghost responds, his tone rough and low. "But you’re too small to keep dodging me forever."Aurora glances at his arms, the muscles barely straining as he reaches out to grab her once more. She moves again, but this time Ghost was ready. With a flick of his wrist, he caught her by the waist, lifting her off her feet and slamming her back to the mat. The force of it left her gasping, her breath stolen in the collision. She could faintly hear small growls from the other pack members, John holding a hand out to stop Kyle and Johnny from rushing the mat, their instinct to protect their Omega was strong.
For a moment, Aurora couldn’t move. The world seems to spin around her as she fights to regain her bearings. She was on her feet in an instant, scrambling to get her bearings. Ghost was on top of her now, using her disorientation to send her sprawling on her stomach, a heavy weight pressing down on her back, pinning her to the floor. "You can’t escape me, little one," Ghost growls in her ear, his voice close and gravelly. His breath was hot against her skin, his large hand gripping her arms, holding them to the mat. She could feel the heat of his body against hers, his muscles hard as stone.
Aurora tries to wiggle free, but it is futile. Ghost’s size and strength were too much. She could feel the pressure of his weight, and for the first time in the match, she felt a real sense of vulnerability. Her breath hitches as his voice rumbles in her ear again, sending a shiver down her spine. "I’ve got you now, little one," he whispers, his tone carrying a dark, possessive undertone. "You’re not going anywhere." His mask-coated lips brush the scent gland on her neck, making her have to force down the Omega desire to submit.
Aurora’s pulse quickens. She was pinned, trapped under him, her chest rising and falling with each breath, and something about the way he spoke, the way he loomed over her, sent an electric charge through her. She could feel the hard line of his body pressed against her back, his warmth wrapping around her like a cage. She swallows hard, her mind racing. "You... think you can just hold me down like this? Think you can just make me submit?" she says, her voice breathless but defiant.
Ghost's chuckle rumbles deep in his chest, and it sends vibrations through her body. "You’re too stubborn to give up, aren’t you?"He growls lowly.
Aurora’s hands curl into fists, frustration mingling with a strange, dangerous heat that was rising between them. She hadn’t lost, not yet. She refuses to admit it, but the reality of being pinned under him, being held so firmly by his strength, was starting to send her head spinning, But Ghost wasn’t finished. Slowly, carefully, he leans in closer, his breath warm on the back of her neck. “You make things interesting,” he murmurs, his voice a dark growl. “But you can’t beat me.” Aurora’s body tenss, her frustration turning into determination. She was small and agile, but she wouldn’t go down without a fight. Even under his weight, even with his hand wrapped firmly around her wrists, she would fight to the last minute.
Still, as Ghost shifts slightly, his body presses even closer to hers, she can feel the undeniable tension between them, a kind of charged energy that crackles in the air, filling the space with an unspoken promise. Aurora’s breath caught in her throat as she looks up at him, her chest heaving with exertion. She was pinned, but she wasn’t broken, not yet. "You won’t make me submit," she says, her voice quiet but laced with defiance.
Ghost remains still for a moment, studying her. His hands loosened just slightly, almost as if he were contemplating her words. Then, with a slow, deliberate motion, he leans in, his clothed lips brushing against her ear. "Maybe," he whispers, his voice low and dangerous, "but I’ll enjoy watching you try to fight it. It’ll make it that much sweeter when you finally do."With that, he tightens his grip again, holding her firmly in place. John clears his throat again and the weight of Ghost is suddenly off her back. Aurora lays there a moment more as she takes a few calming breaths in before sitting up on her knees. John is smiling at her, proud even though she lost. He dismisses the team and Johnny happily walks up to her.
”Are you ready for our date Bonnie?” He asks with a smile and Aurora nods, excited to spend some time alone with her sweet Johnny.

Headcanons for Lorenzo Berkshire
• He doesn’t have the best grades, but he does try hard.
• With his mother being Bellatrix. I think her main focus would be on Mattheo, so Lorenzo always shows her what he did better than Mattheo on.
• He is incredibly cocky like the rest of the “Slytherin boys”, since he is a Berkshire, a wealthy pure blood
• He doesn’t really have opinions on Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw, but the way he grew up around people who weren’t to fond on Gryffindors it wouldn’t be a house he likes. (Same as Theo’s)
• Most of his crushes would probably be Slytherins.
• Slytherin Keeper, joined in 5th year.
• Has a strained relationship with his father, and tries to please his mother even if she’s ashamed of him.
• He likes someone who is sweet and willing to do outgoing activities with him. (Has a really bad corruption thing.)
• Is probably one of the worst out of his group of friends.
• Doesn’t get into fights much, but if he really has something against you, he’ll bully you to know end. (Still is just an asshole.)
• Loves fish, all types.
• Excessive skincare routine, like 30 steps.
• Will flirt with anything that breathes, very flirty. (Very rude.)
• Second best dressed out of everyone he’s friends with, Blaise is first. But, is oddly attracted to people who tend to not go over the top. Like more into comfy than nice.
• Favorite color is definitely light green or grey.
• In 3rd year he secretly has a crush on Fred Weasley because Fred winked at him once while passing him in the halls.
——————x——————x——————x——————x——————x
Lorenzo Berkshire as a boyfriend
• Would be a bit awkward with physical touch at the beginning of the relationship; unless you had something going on before the dating started.
• Boys you anything he sees you glance at, one look in that general direction and he’s in the checkout line.
• Would sneak up behind you and give you small kisses anywhere on your skin, neck, cheek, temple, jaw, etc’.
• If you aren’t a Slytherin would have you sit next to him at his house table anyways, if you are he would walk down with you and serve your food.
• Always invites you to come study with him in the library.
• Calls His partner Sweetheart, Sweetie, honey or love/lovey.
• The second he confirms you both love each other he’s planning your future, house, kids, pets, etc’.
• Stares at you randomly throughout the day.
• Always wants to be holding your hand. (I think he would have somewhat clammy hands, so when you let go he gets whiny.)
• When he gets whiny, be it in class or just hanging out he will want to cuddle you immediately, making sure you won’t leave and holding you in his arms.
• Likes to see you with his coat on, so his favorite month is winter just so he could give it to you.
——————x——————x——————x——————x——————x
His Red Flags 🚩
• Would feel so conflicted if his mother didn’t approve of you.
• He doesn’t like you talking to other guys (or girls).
• Hypocrite, he flirts with other people all the time; when you ask him to stop he says he will, but doesn’t.
• If he doesn’t like your friends will try to get you to stop hanging out with them.
• If you’re a muggle born, he would refuse to learn anything about muggles or lula want to meet your family.
• Hates you having friends that you’re super close to, like if he sees you and your best-friend since 1st year, holding hands or touching each other he would get really jealous.
• Gets jealous so easily.
• Most definitely has clammy hands.

in your eyes
idol bf!jungwoo x afab idol!reader
angst, fluff (kinda not really, idk)
req: idol!jungwoo x idol!reader where 127 and the reader are preparing to release a song together and while they’re taking a break from practice the reader finds out that her new manager has been selling her info to sasaengs (one being a guy that’s been harassing her on multiple different occasions) and jungwoo and the guys comfort her (quick a/n: I did make some tweaks and changes to this, sorry.)
summary: keeping things with your boyfriend under the radar has been harder these days, and it doesn’t help that you have a collab stage / song coming out with his group soon. you’re already under a lot of pressure with this and your own group activities, too. it only becomes more stressful when your phone gets bombarded with calls and texts from unknown numbers and you uncover why that is...
wc: 3.6k
cw: allusions to reader getting harassed through phone calls and messages (stalking?)
now playing: ♫ in your eyes - jessie ware ♫
it is so hard to focus. you feel like your body is going to collapse in on itself. although, it is embarrassing to admit to yourself, this is probably the most intense choreography you have performed in your entire career.
all the other members look normally exhausted once the song finishes, but you, on the other hand, are about ready to hit the ground full force and never wake up. you are huffing and puffing, cheeks red, and chest heaving.
you try to keep it cute and classy in front of your coworkers—who also happen to be your friends—and try not to make a scene of how utterly winded you are. nonetheless, your legs wobble as you slowly kneel down on the cold practice room floor to catch your breath.
you breathe in and out to mute out the chatter they have going on and try to get your heart to stop beating out of your ribcage.
all of a sudden, though, you feel a familiar hand caress your shoulder, so you turn to look at your boyfriend, jungwoo, who is visibly trying his best not to laugh at you.
“take this, looks like you need it,” he says, handing you an opened plastic water bottle.
you snatch it with a quickness and chug it like you had just found an oasis in a desert.
“damn girl it’s not going anywhere,” haechan teases from behind.
“hey man, leave her alone,” jaehyun chimes in, his words still tinged with laughter.
you are halfway through with the bottle when you decide that is enough. your boyfriend just continues to caress your shoulder as the boys talk amongst themselves in the background.
“you ok, baby? we can step outside for a moment if you need it,” he soothes.
you shake your head and reply, “it’s ok. I’m fine.”
“you promise?” his other hand then reaches towards your chin so that you’re face-to-face with him.
“promise,” you say, cheeks turning red again, but because of jungwoo this time.
he leans in for a quick peck on your lips. and you end up leaning into him more for another one. you nearly forget the world surrounding you and the fact that there are other people in the room when loud voices bring you down to reality.
“sorry to interrupt your makeout sesh guys, but we need to run the dance a few more times,” taeyong speaks up.
“just one more minute–”
“you guys just wasted five eating other’s faces out. sorry, but no.”
“but—”
“we have to follow our leader’s instruction, baby, come on,” jungwoo says.
he stands up and then stretches his hand out for you.
“ugh, you guys suck,” you whine as you accept the help from your boyfriend off of the dance room floor.
“you know you love us,” yuta says jokingly.
you just roll your eyes as you walk into position for the dance.
⋅•⋅⊰∙∘˗ˏˋ ˚₊‧꒰ა ☆ ໒꒱ ‧₊˚ ˎˊ˗∘∙⊱⋅•⋅
practice is over way sooner than you would’ve thought. and surprisingly, you’re not as tired as you thought you would be.
but still, when jungwoo asks if you want to hang out with him and the guys after, you turn him down.
“honestly, I just want to shower and go to sleep. I have to wake up early tomorrow anyway for dress rehearsals.”
“I know, baby. I just thought I’d ask anyway,” he says. “you want me to walk you to the dorm?”
“acutally, [group member] is coming to get me and we’ll go home together. you can leave, I’ll wait for her here.”
“we can just walk now. it’s not far. the guys wouldn’t mind waiting, you know.”
“you don’t have to. and I want you to have fun… so go!”
you smile, shooing him away with your hand, he just looks at you with his adoring, signature puppy eyes—he looks so cute.
“well, I guess so. just call me if anything comes up, ok. love you,” he says before coming up to you and leaving a sweet kiss on your forehead.
“love you too,” you say as he walks off.
as your boyfriend strides away with his groupmates, you stare at him lovingly and even wave when he turns back to look at you one more time.
once they are gone, you stick around a while longer before taking the elevator down to the first floor of the company building. you unlock your phone to see if [group member] has texted you. however, your screen is flooded with missed calls from an unknown number. and then, as always, your heart drops to your stomach.
not again, you think to yourself. there’s no way.
you fear that this is the same person you have tried so hard to ignore. among the call notifications, there are—as always—ominous threats through text messages that go along the lines of “you need to answer me,” “pick up,” or “I just want to talk to you.”
it is the same vicious cycle. you have gone through several phone numbers at this point, and blocked so many of theirs, and yet they always crawl back and find a way to infiltrate your peace and serenity.
you decide it is best to not think too much about it.
when the elevator doors open, you find somewhere to stand awkwardly as you wait. then you just screenshot the evidence, block, and delete. you then call [group member] to see if she is on the way, but it goes straight to voicemail.
you just want to go home already. when five minutes turns to ten, then fifteen, and then twenty, you become increasingly more irritated. you pace around the building’s lobby / main floor with anxiety as your mind starts to reel about that person again.
how do they keep getting your number without fail? who are they? and what do they want from you? can’t they just stop?
before you can spiral more though, [group member] drags you back into reality with the familiar sound of her loud ass sandals that she always wears.
“y/n!!” she says, her hand reaching out to grab yours.
you don’t even say anything to her and just walk out of the building, the annoying clack, clack, clack trailing behind.
“hey, I’m sorry. me and the girls were watching tv and I fucking lost track of time. I even left my phone at the dorm in a rush to get you now.”
there’s no point in directing your feelings onto her, you realize, so you just sigh.
“I understand. it’s been a rough day, I’m not gonna lie. do you mind if we just walk in silence?” you say, trying your best to keep the tone of your voice calm and collected.
“you don’t wanna talk about it?”
“not really.”
she just nods.
⋅•⋅⊰∙∘˗ˏˋ ˚₊‧꒰ა ☆ ໒꒱ ‧₊˚ ˎˊ˗∘∙⊱⋅•⋅
you didn’t even get to shower. you just knocked out as soon as your body hit the comfort and safety of your bed.
the next morning your alarm wakes you up with its usual uninviting and unwanted noise.
you groan as you head towards the bathroom to freshen up. the image that looks back in the mirror is a hot mess. you rub your eyes but that just makes you even more tired.
it’s going to be a long day, you think to yourself.
your group members are running all over the place as you all get ready in a hurry. only six total yet it feels like complete chaos.
somehow, you all stuff yourselves into the car where the designated company driver takes you girls to wherever it is you need to be (you were too tired to even check).
once the car stops at the location, your manager opens the door and urges you girls to hurry inside to meet the stylist which catches you off guard. meet? you’ve already met the stylist because it’s been the same one the past few comebacks.
you ask your manager if it is someone new but he seems busy texting someone that he practically ignores you and shoos you off with his hand.
you just internally roll your eyes and catch up with the rest of the girls.
and it was, in fact, a new stylist.
⋅•⋅⊰∙∘˗ˏˋ ˚₊‧꒰ა ☆ ໒꒱ ‧₊˚ ˎˊ˗∘∙⊱⋅•⋅
dress rehearsals go just a little horribly as they do—it comes within the territory, having others measure and prod at your body. but after all is said and done, you and your members are loaded up into the car once again. this time, your manager joined in with you guys.
he sits right next to you in this already cramped space. he asks how it was with the new stylist and you all agree that it was good (but not great—the other one was better.)
you ask the reason for the sudden change and he just says it was the company’s decision, not his.
not entirely satisfied with this answer, though, you decide not to press further. the girls begin to talk about something else as sleep starts to creep up on you.
you begin to doze off, their chatter fading away like a distant song. however, as your eyes grow heavy from the sleepiness, you faintly see a blurry view of your manager’s phone. and at first, you think your mind is playing games with you. that couldn’t possibly be…
you “sober” up and there is now adrenaline coursing through you as you realize your suspicions are coming to life right before your own eyes.
the blocked number from yesterday is now blowing up your manager’s phone with messages. and worse, he is replying with no care in the world that you are literally right next to him. he must have not noticed you wake up.
you feel sick to your stomach.
this whole time… it was him. it was this man who was violating your safety and privacy by giving out your number… every. single. time.
you knew this was true just from the messages he was replying back with: “I’ll give you her new number once she changes it as usual… just give me more time… I need more time… she must act first before I do… understand please.”
you should scream, confront him, do something. but no, your body is paralyzed with fear and shame. no, it is shock—and the overwhelming feeling of betrayal.
instead, you continue to fake sleeping in order to not cause a scene.
in what felt like a few more agonizing moments, the car stops and finally drops you girls off at the dorm. however, you cannot shake the feeling of dread looming over you like a rainy cloud.
as you get off and walk to the dorm entrance, you look back to your manager. through the tinted car window, you can still see him looking down—at what must be his phone, still texting that person you presume.
you turn away and fight back tears.
the girls seem to notice that something is wrong but just assume you’re tired and leave you to your own devices. unfortunately, for once, you just wanted to talk to someone.
once in your room, you sit on your bed and stare off into a white wall, contemplating what you should do. or rather, replaying all the events of yesterday and today and regretting everything you did not do.
and then your phone rings.
no…
your heart drops. not again… it’s not possible.
but relief washes over you as you realize it is none other than your cute boyfriend’s name on the screen—adorned with a signature puppy emoji and a pink heart.
you pick up immediately.
“hi, baby, are you doing anything right now?’ he asks.
you can hear his group mates yelling about something in the background.
“no, not right now, no,” you say, trying to mask the shakiness of your voice. “I just got out of dress rehearsals and I should be free for the rest of the day. what’s up?”
“well, taeyong wanted to know if we could squeeze in just one more hour of practice today. he thinks we just need to focus on the last part of the song, if that’s ok.”
“uhhh… oh yeah, of course. that’s no problem…” you say, rubbing your temples.
“you’re awesome, baby! he’s gonna appreciate this so much!”
“ok, I’ll see you soon.”
“love you!”
“love you too.”
you hang up.
⋅•⋅⊰∙∘˗ˏˋ ˚₊‧꒰ა ☆ ໒꒱ ‧₊˚ ˎˊ˗∘∙⊱⋅•⋅
you are too exhausted still for practice but you do need the distraction from this… situation, to put it simply.
the boys are all excited to see you grace them with your presence as you walk through the practice room doors.
“here comes the princess to our beloved prince!” yuta says with a hearty laugh.
jungwoo runs up to you and embraces you in his arms. he has no idea just how much you needed that. he pulls away quickly though and then grabs you by the hand, dragging you over to the others.
“we can talk later. right now, we need to get this number down. we only have a couple more days to perfect this guys… and girl…” taeyong says, pausing and then directing his glance to you at that last part.
“girls, you mean…” you peer over to haechan.
“w-what? what am I catching a stray for?”
“from the other day, I didn’t forget,” you laugh.
the others laugh too and jokingly hit haechan.
“yeah, yeah, whatever,” he says.
and like clockwork, you guys get into formation, ready to follow taeyong’s instruction.
⋅•⋅⊰∙∘˗ˏˋ ˚₊‧꒰ა ☆ ໒꒱ ‧₊˚ ˎˊ˗∘∙⊱⋅•⋅
“you’re lagging behind.”
“you’re going too early on that part.”
“you’re too stiff.”
“your footwork isn’t right.”
the comments and critiques from the leader are pouring in like a waterfall. and it doesn’t help that the fear and dread from earlier are now glowing with a vengeance in your mind.
and then, the room begins to feel suffocating. the redness burning in your face and ears only fuels the tears in your eyes more.
don’t fucking cry, don’t fucking cry, don’t fucking cry, you repeat to yourself. you can’t do this—not in front of them.
“what’s going on y/n?”
“your head isn’t in the game.”
“pull yourself together, you know this.”
he is right and that fact makes you even more frustrated. as he watches you and two other members run the last part of the song, he only critiques you because you just keep on messing up.
the music grew louder in your eyes and everything just became so overwhelming. you reached your breaking point.
this. was. it.
you trip over your legs and fall onto the ground. you feel the pain jolt from your knees and then reverb to your head.
and you could not help it anymore and start crying pathetically on the practice room floor. your hands rush to conceal your face. you cannot bear to let these men see you like this.
however, you can hear them all rush towards you. and then you feel some hands on your head and back.
“are you ok, y/n? I didn’t mean to push you too far…” taeyong says apologetically, and what you assume must be his thumb caressing the top of your head.
you can’t even answer him. you want to tell him that it is not his fault, but your sobs are violent and restrict you from getting a proper sentence out.
from behind, you hear your boyfriend’s sweet voice: “it’s ok, baby, let it all out.” he continues to rub comforting circles on your back which makes you cry more.
and embarrassingly enough, you cry and you cry in front of them as they offer you words of assurance and encouragement—mainly from your boyfriend who is doing his best to comfort you.
finally, you gather the confidence to remove your hands from your face and look at the concerned faces of the men in front of you.
you know you look horrendous at the moment but that doesn’t matter when you turn around and your boyfriend looks at you like you are the most beautiful girl in the world.
he kisses you and gives you a tight hug.
“are you ok now?”
“yeah… yeah, I think I am good,” you answer. you keep rubbing the tears away from your red cheeks. “I-I’m really sorry about that…” you say with an embarrassed laugh.
“hey, there’s no need to apologize. it happens…” doyoung smiles at you as he stands behind jungwoo.
“is there something going on that you’re not telling us?” haechan prods.
you catch doyoung elbowing the boy in an attempt to shut him up and mouthing a faint shut up. obviously, he does it out of respect for you. however, you know that you must open up to someone about what you have been enduring and they might be your best bet.
so the tears fall again, but this time you are able to tell them the dark secret that you have been hiding to yourself. and once you are done, they look at you with mutual pity and understanding—like they all have once been in your shoes before.
“y/n, I’m so sorry about that…” taeyong says.
“why… why didn’t you tell me, love?” jungwoo says, hurt that you did not trust him with something important like that.
“I just didn’t want you to worry,” you confess.
“this is very serious, y/n,” jaehyun chimes in.
“yeah, y/n, we’ve all dealt with weirdos before but this is a different level,” johnny says.
“you’re fucking manager has been doing dirty work behind your back this whole time??” haechan says, as if he was just catching on to what was happening.
“yes, haechan,” doyoung sighs, rubbing his temples like he was agitated at the boy. “look, y/n, no one deserves to go through this, and especially to go through this alone. I’m angry that it took you this long to tell any of us, but I’m glad you spoke up about it anyway.”
“I agree, it is very brave of you, y/n,” mark says, who is usually quiet when you are around.
“thank you guys,” is all you can muster.
“we’re here for you,” yuta says.
“ok guys, I think that’s enough practice for now and we should call it off for now. we can pick things up tomorrow,” taeyong says.
the group agrees unanimously and they all start to grab their things and head out, leaving you and your boyfriend alone in the practice room.
when the final member leaves, you both are left sitting alone on the practice room floor.
your boyfriend looks at you with a weird expression—like anger and love mixed into one.
“are you mad at me?” you ask.
“why would I be mad?” he says. “I’m just… I just want you to be more honest with me. you know I love you and care about you so much.”
“I know. I love you too, woo.”
he reaches for your hand and brings it to his lips, planting soft kisses—ones that always calm you down when you need it. and after, he uses his thumb to trace an outline of them, almost as if to seal it to your skin: seal his love for you in his own way. you feel like you could cry again. you don’t know what you would do without.
“thank you for being so understanding,” is all you can muster up, but there is so much love dancing in your heart that just remains unspoken because words alone could not describe it.
“I’ll always be there for you, love. don’t you ever forget that,” he whispers before leaning in to kiss you again.
his big, loving hands then reach for your blushing cheeks as he pulls closer into the kiss. you melt right into it. he feels like home—like safety. he is your safety net, always has been and always will be.
“we will figure this out,” he says when he pulls away.
“look at me,” he commands, noticing how your eyes immediately gaze away from him. “we will get through this… together,” he reassures once you stare at his face which somehow gets more beautiful with each passing day. his ability to make you feel so secure is one of the things that made you fall for him.
“come on, let’s get outta here,” he whispers.
he hoists you up from the floor and laughs as you almost fall back down because your legs had fallen asleep from sitting too long.
you stretch your body out for a little bit and then start walking towards your bag. however, you feel his hand grab your wrist and turn you around as he pulls you in. and now your face is right in front of his chest.
his other hand snakes around your waist and reels you closer into him. you look up at him to see him give you a mischievous yet endearing smile.
“let’s just do oneee last dance. is that alright with you, darling?”
“actually, I would really love that,” you laugh.
he lets go of your wrist and holds your hand firmly in his. you take your other hand and rest it on his shoulder.
“wait, but we don’t have music, baby.”
“we’re both singers, darling.”
“well yes–”
“you just follow my lead,” he says.
“o-ok.”
from the first two words that escape his lips, you knew exactly what he was doing. he was singing the song he dedicated to you on your first year anniversary—one he had specifically written for you. his sweet, precious voice sings to you and it reminds you that there truly is nothing better in this world than having someone like him in your life.
in your eyes, he is perfection, and you know, and his eyes, you are the same.
you rest your face in his chest as you both sway back and forth, slowly dancing to the song that echoed the very essence of your love.

a/n: posting after a rather spontaneous hiatus. so basically... life is kicking my ass and it has killed any creativity, imagination, or motivation for writing. I have had this request since APRILLLL and I am barely getting this posted. I just don't normally write stuff that is not smut, so this was a challenge. I really tried, I really did. I know this sucks but this was my first ever request and I wanted to see it all the way through. I hope whoever requested this ends up enjoying it. so so so sorry for the delay and any mistakes that you might see :( I will try to do better.

How did Starlo and Ceroba begin dating in your AU Would there be any conflict because of Cerobas last marriage ending so tragically?
First off, anon thank you for giving me an excuse to gush about Staroba. They have taken a hold of 95% of my brain. This might be a bit of a ramble, but I will gladly share my thoughts on them!
So before Clover arrives in the Underground, I imagine anything romantic between the both of them was kind of out of the question. I HC Starlo is still pining for Ceroba years later, but he's pretty discreet about it. That's his best friend, and she's recently lost her husband and daughter. He's going to be there for her emotionally, but he's not about to complicate things by pursuing his feelings. I imagine even if he hasn't really moved on from her, he's resigned to the fact that it'll only remain as pining from afar.
Meanwhile, on Ceroba's end, she isn't really thinking about romance. She's very much wallowing in her own grief and misery, so to her, Starlo is the only person she has left in her life, but he's just her best friend. There may be some feelings beginning to build, with living with Starlo and spending so much time with him, but nothing she really actively thinks about. She's too consumed by the terrible situation and struggles she's neck deep in.
It isn't until Clover comes around and chooses to stay in the Underground that things change. I HC that Clover chooses to live with Ceroba after the Pacifist ending. Starlo and the gang cleaned up her house anyways, so why not live in it again and make better memories? Because Ceroba's house is close to the Wild East, Starlo visits a lot, not just for Clover but for Ceroba too. Now that they're both working on their own issues and moving on, becoming healthier people, they're able to properly hang out and emotionally support one another and enjoy each other's company in a way they haven't for a few years. This is where Starlo's feelings really kick into high gear, and it's gotten to the point that everyone in their family and friend group notices.
("Dude, you like, totally wanna marry her," Mooch says, hardly bothering to contain her smug smirk. Starlo yanks on the brim of his hat to conceal his reddening face and begs her to keep her voice down, lest Ceroba hear it from across the bar counter.)
Though Ceroba is a lot more subtle about it, this is where her feelings begin to grow too. She realizes that Starlo has always been there for her, even if his actions weren't always the right ones his intentions have always been focused on doing things for her sake, and that she wants him around, maybe more than just a best friend. It gets to the point that the house feels lonely whenever he leaves from a visit. It probably takes a lot of internal strife and struggle to reconcile with her feelings. Letting another partner into her life after she's mourned her first husband is a massive and frightening step to take, after all. She knows Chujin would want her to be happy and live her life to the fullest after he's gone, but it's still a lot to take in.
I imagine once a few months pass, with encouragement from Starlo's friends ("C'mon boss, Clover calls you Pa and Ceroba Ma, you two are practically already raising them together!"), he tries to confess his feelings to Ceroba. He probably fumbles it a few times; not just because he's still shy and awkward under the sheriff persona, but because he really doesn't want to ruin his relationship with her, nor hurt her after everything she's been through. Ceroba, of course, notices this. Probably after the second or third bumbling attempt of him trying to tell her in privacy how he feels, she gently cuts him off and comes out and says it; she reciprocates his feelings, and she would love to start a new chapter of her life with him.
Thus, they begin dating! Everyone's happy for them, especially Clover and the Feisty Four, who has been privy to all of their subtle and not so subtle flirting and obvious pining. Starlo and Ceroba were already raising Clover together, but now it becomes a lot more overt. After they date for a while, Ceroba invites Starlo to move in so he can spend more time with her and Clover and be a proper family. He does so, gladly - though he probably does shed a tear or two moving out from the house he shared with his posse.
