Dear ones, I don't want to jinx myself, count my chickens before they hatch or whatever saying might strike your fancy at the moment but... After a week plus a few days of over 30 blue screens of death (8 of them in one hour), my computer has made it a day without one.

I had to finally wipe everything and start over and I finally, after sooooo many hours of research, I can't EVEN, am pretty sure I've discovered the source of the problem that linked my old computer, my dad's computer and this computer to all having nearly identical bsod issues: some absolute DOORKNOB of a person was putting the exact same third-party firewall back on all of them. Who was that doorknob?

🤷‍♀️

In my, I mean, in HER defense, that firewall has served very well for the almost 20 years I've used it. It says it's compatible with Windows 10 and 11 and all of my troubleshooting was blaming the various video/network/etc drivers. However, I discovered that ZoneAlarm took an update at almost exactly the time my other computer started having trouble 3 months ago. But ZA updates "silently" so I didn't know that until I went looking just now for the date of the last build, realized it corresponded almost exactly, and then I went

That said, I'm a little worried that it took me THIS LONG to realize that that was the single program all 3 had in common. I was just so used to using and relying on it that it didn't occur to me that it could be at the heart of all of the problems.

So, as I said before, it all boils down to

Right now, I've got almost nothing on the computer besides the browser and a new set of security programs. It's been an interesting way to see what my priorities are because I want to install one thing, wait a couple of days to verify everything's working fine, then install then next, wait again and so on, putting things back on slowly and deliberately.

BUT I WANT STEAM BACK ON NOWNOWNOW SO I CAN PLAY MY GAMES ZOMGGGGGG.

Apparently, I get actual buckets of serotonin and overall feel-good vibes from playing games because I'm absolutely frothing at the mouth at not being able to play anything at all.

Next will be Word so I can stop trying to read my utterly, drastically terrible handwriting from where I've been working on "15 Minutes" ch7 by hand (I might possibly be writing in Sangheili, I can't even tell anymore 🤷‍♀️😉).

Then eventually, Vegas. I'm worried about that one in particular because my research did uncover a potential Vegas Pro 15 - Win 11 conflict. Some people couldn't get it to work, others have no problem. I've seriously got my fingers crossed that it'll be okay so I can get back to GIF-making and vid editing, in whatever order. 🤞😣🤞

I've spent SO much time seeing blue screens that I find myself staring at the place on the monitor where the error info flashes, my notebook at the ready to scribble down the pertinent messages, just expecting another to pop at any second.

The last couple of times it popped, I was trying to read the debugging info from the LAST crash. And then it would crash again.

However, I can now report that, if you're ever using WinDbg to read your .dmp files and it tells you "symbols are WRONG" (and yes, it all-capped it just like that), I can actually tell you how to fix the dang symbols. It's a weird flex to take but hey, I'm taking it. It wasn't easy to find the answer to that one! 😠😕😉

If all continues on without any further crashes, then I'll hopefully be back catching up on things ASAP. If it resumes crashing while I have nothing more on the computer than a browser and the security programs the pc came with, then I'm just going to

Do you think Seth has that instinct cats do where he “play bites” or love bites sometimes and if the reader pulls away, again he does what cats do, and his prey drive is activated and he chases after?

I could definitely see that. I feel like Seth, like a lot of Thirens, would suppress a lot of his more animalistic instincts, especially while on the job. But when it's just the two of you, he lets down his guard and sometimes he just gets the urge to bite. Usually when your hand is near his face, like if your arm is round his shoulder or you're petting his hair - he's perfectly content, and then something kicks in and he has to give you a little chomp. While idt his prey drive would be that high, if you move your hand away too fast his head will automatically follow and try to give you another bite before he realises what he's doing. If you make any indication it actually hurt, though, he will Definitely do the cat thing where they immediately apologise by giving you little kisses where they bit you, reminding you you're only playing. and then bite you again.

I also think his cat tendencies come out extra when he's sleepy. If you catch him when he's just woken up you could so get him with a laser pointer. he won't get up and chase it but if you keep it in his arms reach he'll try to catch it. also if you get him a body pillow (PLAIN ONE, I KNOW THIS SITE WELL ENOUGH) he will hold it like a kicker toy and sometimes, especially if he has an intense dream, he'll start actually kicking it in his sleep. like the crazy superspeed scratch-kicking. goofball that he is.

I know that the early, non-Diasomnia stories aren't really your thing, but are you reading the novels at all?

I have been following some of the fan translations and the second book seems intense! Would love to hear what you think about them.

thank you! 💚💚💚 I'm not really sure why you think I don't like the earlier arcs though, I love pretty much all the characters and their storis! (I think 5 and 1 are my favorite of the past episodes, though 6 infected me with the Shroud brainrot something fierce.) I just...ESPECIALLY love diasomnia. :') but there is room in my heart for all of these dweebs! like, who among us is not just as ride-or-die for Adeuce as they are for us.

that said, I don't really follow the other adaptations like the manga (aside from a dip-in just to see the new Yuus) or the novels, though I keep meaning to check them out! I do like seeing the differences between the different forms of media, and how certain things get adapted one way or another! but alas, time/a lack of accessibility stands in our way more often than not. :( someday...someday I will have time to consume all of the media...

#snake #snakes #Hognose #hognoses #pets #In her defense I also didn't realize the reason she couldn't move it at the end was because her tail was no longer under the basket #So instead of sliding over her it just bumped into her and was stuck #to her credit she did listen to me and follow my directions! But neither of us realized the problem.#ah it was cute while she did it #she was going a bit before I started recording #she comes up with silly fun activities #i should let her play with the hammock again #it's funny when she found it she'd gesture to me with her head when she wanted me to lift it and put it down #and it was like a weird elevator parachute game #i think she might have been extra delighted she was able to communicate her wants to me and I did them #We both got practice with that the other day when we played climbing ball #I misunderstood a few times #she is much more patient and less easily frustrated than her sister #she was asking for climbing ball and I thought she was asking for kisses #i did eventually figure out what she actually wanted #i suppose it helps she likes kisses too #when i say kisses I'm not putting my lips on her #I let her flick her tongue at the tip of my nose and make little kiss sounds at her #she either understands this is affection or otherwise likes it #Because she will often go to my nose and I'll give her kisses like this #I don't kiss her because the bacteria and stuff in my human mouth could be dangerous for her #I know reptiles and such can also have salmonella #But I'm really not worried about that part tbh as I keep my girls pretty clean #They are princesses #And know it

Something I've been working on for while now: Mini Fools Gold!

He's my one of my favorite hunters and as such I wanted to make him real. He was a little tricky to sculpt especially with all of his floating elements but he's been a lot of fun to make!
