Whumpers, what are your earliest memories?
Mine is from when I was about two or three. I was in a stroller, at my cousin’s Irish dancing recital. After the recital, my aunts were talking down to me in the stroller, and to each other. I was experiencing extreme anxiety because I couldn’t understand what they were saying, when I felt I should have been able to communicate with them like they were communicating with each other. I was also very tired and dazed. I did not cry though… I probably looked normal on the outside.
I also remember when I was about four or five, I went to the beach with my dad and one of his friends. I somehow found my way onto the dock, planted my little rear end on a jet ski, untethered it from the dock, and started floating into the sunset. There was an old lady lounging in a donut inflatable out some way; she said something to me, but I couldn’t understand what she said, despite trying really hard. I’m assuming it was something along the lines of “Oh my god get off that jet ski you’re going to fucking DIE, kid,” but again… couldn’t understand a word of what she said, and got frustrated because she was speaking English (without an accent) and I should know how to understand adults speaking English to me.
At this point, my dad is yelling at me from across the water, and a young lifeguard drags the jet ski back. On land, my dad lectured at me very harshly as he led me back to the car. I didn’t know I had done anything wrong, and was very confused. At some point this guy starts quoting the Bible at me, and the only thing I could pick out were the words (spoken very emphatically), “Your days are numbered.”
“My days are numbered?” cue a vivid mental image of a calendar, with dates listed for every day of the week, “What does that mean?” Later on I figured out this was the Bible’s way of referencing death at God’s hand which just made me even more confused as to what I did, until at age thirteen, I figured out, “Oh a baby who can’t swim floating on a jet ski is terrifying, actually.”

#tag game lol#I had a thing with not understanding people very well (or at all) as a child idk if that’s normal kid stuff or what lol#Like you know how in dreams people’s speech is a blur? That was how I (mostly) interacted with the world from ages two to six#My best friend at the time would talk to me a lot (she was a couple years younger) and she was still partly in the “babbling” phase#and couldn’t speak clearly at all#so I just kind of nodded and went along with it despite having no idea what the hell she just said#Which I continued to do with everyone else into adulthood; as soon as someone talks to me I zone out whether I want to or not lol#My life has been a perpetual cycle of: “Why can’t I do that; am I stupid or something?” > studying it intensely > excelling at it#Like humor. No one laughed at my jokes in my first year of public school; so I watched what made people tick…#By the time junior year online English class rolled around I had the teachers and students in stitches almost constantly#Likewise with understanding people: I zone out all the time; but I can quickly replay what I heard in my head and ask a question to verify#if that’s what they said; then give an appropriate response to it#Basically I repeat 70% of what people say to me during conversation to make sure I’m not missing anything#As a result I’m now pretty good at figuring out what people are saying if there are language barriers or speech abnormalities involved#But do NOT give me verbal directions; I can and will forget them the instant you walk away

Hii!!!
I love ur writing so so so much. Genuinely i’ve been reading EVERYTHING. I was wondering if you could do one abt reader being really insecure about her thighs and stomach.
Tysm!
“𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐞? 𝐦𝐲 𝐠𝐨𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮’𝐫𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐞”

a/n: thank you so much for your support!!! i hope this could make you smile :)
and yes the title is a lana reference (i’m just so inspired by lyrics today)
ft. itoshi rin, itoshi sae, isagi yoichi, bachira meguru, nagi seishiro, mikage reo, niko ikki, kaiser michael, ness alexis, karasu tabito, shidou ryusei
itoshi rin
you're standing in front of the mirror frowning at your thighs when rin walks in.
"what are you doing?" he asks like you're plotting a heist.
"just… nothing," you mumble, tugging your shirt down over your stomach.
he immediately knows something’s up. rin doesn't do emotions, but he does read you like a book.
“you’re doing the self-hate monologue again, aren’t you.”
you nod. he just sighs deeply and grabs your face like he's about to deliver a dramatic anime speech.
"i need you to understand something."
"… okay?"
"your thighs are incredible. like, dangerously hot. people would pay to get crushed between them."
"rin."
"no. and your stomach? i literally fall asleep holding it every night. it’s the safest place on earth. i’m not even joking."
later that night he buries his face into your stomach and mumbles, “see? perfect pillow. i win.”
itoshi sae
you make a self-deprecating joke about your body and sae just slowly turns his head to you with the most unamused expression imaginable.
“was that supposed to be funny?”
“no i just… i don’t like my thighs.”
"cool. i do."
"yeah but they're –"
"shhh. you're not allowed to talk shit about my favorite thighs."
then he just grabs them casually while sipping his drink like it's tuesday.
“don’t test me. i will write a love letter to your thighs and frame it.”
and this man would. on fancy paper. with wax seals.
your stomach? yeah he pokes it just to watch you squeal and then hugs it like it's his emotional support plushie.
“stop saying dumb stuff. i know what i like. and i like you.”
drops mic. walks away. leaves you blushing on the floor.
isagi yoichi
isagi is not having ANY of this negativity.
you say “ugh i look bloated” one time and he spins around like a rom-com protagonist.
“you’re what? LOVE. no. come here.”
wraps you in the softest hug and literally kisses your stomach like it's sacred.
“this is the cutest stomach in the world. i’d build a monument for it.”
“yoichi –”
“and your thighs? do you know how many times i’ve spaced out staring at them? once during a team meeting. bachira noticed. it was awkward.”
he starts complimenting every little thing with passionate sports announcer energy: “and here we have the most stunning pair of thighs gracing this room. yes, folks, look at that form!”
eventually he lays his head on your lap with a dreamy sigh and goes, “you don’t even get it. you’re my favorite view.”
bachira meguru
you look a little down and he immediately panic-scatters into your space.
“what happened? who do i fight? did a mirror insult you? i’ll punch it.”
you admit you’re just feeling insecure about your body, especially your thighs.
he gasps like he just witnessed a war crime.
“THOSE thighs? the thighs i mentally thank god for every single day???”
clutches them dramatically.
“they are elite. masterpiece. top-tier. anime protagonist levels of divine.”
then he pokes your stomach and giggles when you try to squirm away.
“it’s bouncy! it’s cute! it’s squish-approved! 10/10! best cuddling material ever!”
draws a smiley face on it with his finger. names it. gives it a backstory.
“this is sir squish-a-lot. he’s royalty. treat him with respect.”
you’re laughing so hard by the end you forget you were ever upset. mission accomplished.
nagi seishiro
you say something negative about your thighs and he just blinks at you.
"no thoughts. head empty. but thighs good."
“nagi that’s not –”
“your thighs are comfy. they’re warm. they’re literally my headrest when i nap. don’t disrespect my nap station.”
then just flops face-first into them while mumbling, “mmph. perfect.”
he pats your stomach too and goes, “this is where i press my face when you’re mad at me. can’t believe you’re beefing with it.”
tries to fix your insecurities by aggressively cuddling them out of you.
“if i kiss the things you hate enough times, will you stop hating them?”
spoiler: yes. yes you will.
mikage reo
genuinely offended when you say you don’t like your thighs or stomach.
“wait what? are we looking at the same person? babe, you’re an art piece. i’d hang a painting of you in my mansion.”
“reo, you don’t have a mansion –”
“yet. but i will. and your thighs are going in the foyer.”
threatens to fund a PR campaign for your self-esteem.
“billboards. magazine covers. motivational speeches. i’m not kidding.”
hugs you from behind and whispers, “how dare you talk bad about my future wife’s perfect body.”
dramatic but also seriously in love with every inch of you.
“if you ever insult your thighs again, i will cry and guilt-trip you for a week. i’m rich. i can be petty.”
niko ikki
you’re feeling insecure and niko notices right away, because this boy is observant as hell.
“you keep covering your stomach,” he says gently.
you admit what’s been bothering you, and he gets this serious expression like he’s going into soccer mode.
“your thighs are my favorite thing to cuddle. i literally mold into them like memory foam.”
you snort, but he just shrugs.
“i’m being real. and your stomach? that’s my safe zone. my emotional recharge pad. stop hating on it.”
later, he literally tucks himself into your side with a blanket and mutters, “mmm, yup. serotonin unlocked. no more insults allowed.”
deadass gives your thighs a pep talk like, “you guys are killin’ it. keep up the good work.”
kaiser michael
you say you feel gross and kaiser’s mouth literally drops open.
“EXCUSE ME???”
“what do you mean you hate your thighs. are you blind? they are a national treasure.”
puts his hand over his heart like he’s been personally wronged.
“your stomach too. i love that thing. it’s adorable. it’s sexy. it’s mine.”
proceeds to rant for 10 minutes about how obsessed he is with you.
“i would get in a physical altercation with a mirror if it made you feel bad. i’m being serious, stop laughing!”
then starts listing celebrities and why they don’t even come close to your level.
“zendaya? beautiful. but do her thighs make me bark out loud like yours? no. i win.”
you’re laughing so hard you can’t even argue anymore.
ness alexis
he goes into full puppy boyfriend mode when you say anything mean about yourself.
“noooo don’t say that! your thighs are literally heaven-sent!”
grabs them and wiggles his fingers into them like they’re stress balls.
“i could live between these thighs. i would die happy here. let me in.”
“alexis please –”
“no. you brought this on yourself.”
hugs your waist so tightly you can’t escape.
“and your tummy? my favorite place. soft. warm. 100% wife material.”
will pout dramatically if you keep putting yourself down.
“i’ll cry. i will. then you’ll feel bad. don’t do that to me.”
karasu tabito
hears you insult your stomach and just slowly blinks.
“so we’re lying now?”
“karasu, i’m serious –”
“me too. your thighs are elite. S-tier. baddie-coded.”
starts listing reasons why you’re the hottest girl alive.
“you walk and i stare. you sit and i stare. you breathe and i STARE.”
pokes your thigh and says, “this is the reason i lost my train of thought mid-practice yesterday.”
constantly hypes you up in the most unserious ways.
“your body’s so fine it needs to come with a warning label. handle with care. dangerous curves ahead.”
and when you finally laugh, he grins and says, “there’s my girl. don’t let dumb thoughts talk shit about my favorite person.”
shidou ryusei
you mutter something like, “ugh, i feel gross today. my thighs look huge,” and shidou literally stops mid-bite of his protein bar.
“what did you just say about my favorite thighs in the universe?”
stares at you, dead serious.
“you tryna make me cry right now? ‘cause i’ll do it. ugly sobbing and everything.”
immediately drops to his knees like he’s about to propose, but instead he wraps his arms around your legs and mumbles into your thighs, “nah, i’m not letting this slander slide. not on my watch.”
you try to walk away but he’s LATCHED ON.
“i love these thighs so much i’d build a church and worship at the altar of ‘em. i’d name a stadium after ‘em. shidou thighs arena™.”
your stomach? he pokes it, leans in close, and whispers, “you got that sexy villain belly. soft and deadly. dangerous in the best way.”
“what does that even mean –”
“means i’m obsessed. you look like you could ruin my life and i’d say thank you.”
will not stop until you laugh. will not stop even after that.
“don’t ever talk shit about my favorite parts of you again. you’re so hot it’s distracting. like. spiritually.”
later that night he flops across your lap and announces, “if thighs could kill, you’d be doing life in prison. and i’d be your cellmate. willingly.”
he’s the unhinged hype man you never asked for but desperately needed.
and the second he sees you smiling again, he grins all smug and goes, “yeah. that’s right. those thighs are mine, baby.”

Heartfelt Deception
Law x reader (she/her)
Modern AU, fake-dating, friends-to-lovers, like one swear word.
Summary: Law asked you to attend a charity event his hospital is hosting as his fake girlfriend. As if that wasn’t enough, it’s happening on Valentine’s Day.
Words: 7.5k
Notes: For the Valentine’s Week event. I had this whole fake dating-to-hospital event idea for the ficmas event, but I scrapped it because I didn’t have much time to write it then. I’m so glad I did, though, because I think the story turned out much better for Valentine’s Day than it would have for Christmas.
English is not my first language
Masterlist
Dr. Trafalgar Law was pacing back and forth in the small office of the hospital. His fingers drummed anxiously against the table as he read the charity event invitation for the fifth time, each glance making his pulse race a little faster.
The truth was, Law never liked events like this. Fundraisers, speeches, fake smiles—it all made him itch with discomfort. His introverted nature clashed with the expectations of being a ‘people person’ in the medical field, and the last thing he wanted was to attend an event where everyone would be looking at him.
A month ago, during yet another relentless round of coworkers begging him to attend an after-work gathering, Law had casually mentioned that he had plans. But instead of letting it go, they kept pressing, demanding to know why he was always declining invitations. Frustrated, he blurted out that he needed to spend time with his girlfriend. Before he could even think, the hospital buzzed with talk about his mysterious partner, one no one had ever met. Now, he was cornered into bringing his partner to the hospital's prestigious charity gala on Valentine’s Day. The irony wasn’t lost on him—his colleagues were all too eager to point out how fitting it was to host an event focused on heart issues on a day devoted to hearts.
As one of the hospital’s top cardiac surgeons, Law was expected to be a key speaker. Worse still, he was supposed to bring his girlfriend. But the problem? He didn’t have one.
There was only one person he could turn to—you.
“You want me to do what?!” you asked, your eyes wide with shock, your coffee cup momentarily forgotten in your hand.
He sighed, running a hand over his face in frustration. “I need you to go with me to that stupid gala as my girlfriend.”
Your brow furrowed as you set the cup down. “You're serious?”
“Why would I joke about something like this?”
“Why would you make up a girlfriend just to avoid gatherings?” you shot back, leaning back in your chair, arms crossed. “You could’ve just said you weren’t interested in going.”
He gazed down at the table, clearly agitated, his fingers tapping against the surface in a nervous rhythm. “It’s not that simple. I’ve already turned them down too many times. They won’t leave me alone. And now I’m expected to show up—with a date. It’s just… ridiculous.”
You leaned forward, elbows resting on the table, as you considered his words. “Why not just say you broke up recently?”
“Because it’s obvious. Then I lose that excuse for the future,” he said, picking up his cup and drinking from it.
You stared at him for a long moment, trying to wrap your head around the absurdity of it all. “So, you want me to pretend to be your girlfriend for one night, just so you can avoid more gatherings down the line?”
“Yes,” he said simply, as if it were the most logical solution in the world.
You shook your head, unable to help the small laugh that escaped you. “You’re ridiculous. When is this supposed to happen?”
“February 14th,” he replied, avoiding your gaze.
Your eyebrows shot up. “Valentine’s Day?”
He rolled his eyes. “Yeah, they thought they were being so clever with that one.”
A grin tugged at the corners of your lips. You couldn’t resist teasing him. “So, is this your way of asking me to be your Valentine?”
He groaned, dragging a hand down his face. “Who’s being ridiculous now?” But then, with a sly smirk, he added, “So… you’re in?”
A long pause hung in the air as you considered his request. The idea of pretending to be his girlfriend was insane, yes. Pretending to be someone’s girlfriend—for Valentine’s Day, no less—was the kind of thing you’d laugh about in a bad rom-com. But the look on his face was impossible to ignore. Desperation, tinged with just enough pride to keep him from outright begging.
Finally, you sighed, crossing your arms as if it might shield you from the insanity you were about to agree to. “Fine. But you owe me big time for this.”
“Don’t worry,” The smirk on his face widened, and you wondered what exactly you’d just gotten yourself into. “I’ll make it up to you. I promise.”
And with that, you sealed your fate.
The day of the event had finally arrived. Law was at your door, punctual as always, ready to pick you up just as you'd arranged. He stood there, dressed impeccably—his sharp suit tailored to perfection, exuding confidence and elegance. You tried your hardest not to stare too much, but it was impossible not to notice how effortlessly he pulled it all off.
“Ready?” His voice broke through your thoughts.
“Just a moment,” you replied, your voice betraying your hesitation as you moved closer to the mirror. You needed to make sure everything was just right. You were dressed in the outfit that made you feel good about yourself and was fitting for such an event. Yet, despite all the preparation, a knot of nerves twisted in your stomach. The idea of pretending to be Law's girlfriend made you nervous, no matter how hard you tried to pretend it did not.
He sighed when you took your sweet time. “Can you stop checking yourself out?”
You glanced at him, an eyebrow arched. “Sorry for making sure people won’t judge your taste too much…” you grumbled, half-amused, half-defensive.
He scoffed as he moved closer, looking at you in the mirror. “Like I care what people think.” Then, with a pause, he added, his voice quieter, almost… sincere, “Besides, you look… stunning.”
You froze for a moment, surprised by his words. “Really?”
“Yes,” he answered, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. His gaze softened, and you swore you saw a hint of admiration there.
“Um, thanks. And… you look amazing too.”
He cleared his throat, somewhat uncomfortable but trying to hide it. “Let’s just go, shall we?”
“You're sure this will work, right?” Law muttered as he turned to face you.
“Yes, it’ll work.” You flashed a confident grin, trying to reassure him, though you were just as uncertain as he was. “You’re the one who got us into this mess.”
“I can’t believe I’m actually doing this.”
“Well, I can’t believe you made up a girlfriend in the first place,” you shot back. “But here we are.”
He sighed, running a hand over his face again, not sure whether to laugh or groan. It was one thing to get himself into this mess, but dragging you in was entirely a different matter. The pressure was mounting on both of you. Could you really pull this off?
Then you caught his eye. A speck of humor, a spark of something you couldn’t quite place, passed between you, and at that moment, you knew you could. Maybe this absurd charade wasn’t as impossible as it seemed.
He let out a long breath and straightened his posture, his decision made. “Alright, fine. Let’s get this over with.”
“Lead the way, then,” you replied, your tone playful, despite the nerves you were still trying to suppress.
He gave a curt nod, opening the door and holding it for you. With that, you stepped into the venue. The Valentine’s Day theme was apparent everywhere— pink and red lighting bathed the space, heart-shaped centerpieces adorned every table, and a live jazz band played romantic melodies in the background. You looked over at him and snorted seeing his expression.
“I take it Valentine’s Day isn’t your favorite holiday?” you teased, leaning just close enough so he could hear without anyone else catching on.
Law’s gaze flickered to you, his brow arching slightly. “What gave it away?” he said dryly, expending his arm to you.
“Oh, just a hunch,” you said, slipping your hands through his arm. “You’re doing great, though. Really selling the whole ‘romantic evening’ thing.”
Law’s expression didn’t shift much, but there was a faint twitch at the corner of his lips that told you he wasn’t entirely immune to your teasing. “I’m thrilled you think so,” he muttered as he led you through the crowd. You caught glimpses of the people who had been whispering about Law's relationship for weeks. Their eyes fell on you both with curiosity.
“Dr. Trafalgar!” one of the nurses called out, waving excitedly. Her eyes brightened as they shifted to you. “Is this your girlfriend?”
Law’s face remained neutral. “Yes,” he answered smoothly and introduced you.
The nurse let out a little squeal of delight. “It’s so nice to finally meet you!” she exclaimed. “We’ve all been dying to know more about Dr. Trafalgar’s mysterious girlfriend.”
You smiled politely, taking the opportunity to slip into the role. “It's a pleasure to meet you, too. He talks a lot about his team,” you said lightly, with a little twinkle in your eye as you looked at Law. He rolled his eyes but didn’t say anything.
The nurse beamed. “Oh, I'm sure he does,” she said, her eyes still sparkling as she switched her gaze from you to Law. “It’s rare to see him… charming.” Her voice dropped to a playful whisper, though it was clear she wasn’t trying to keep it a secret. “We always wondered what kind of woman could put up with him.”
You gave a small, modest laugh, sensing the opportunity to keep the conversation flowing. “He’s not as difficult as he looks.” You turned to Law, giving him a teasing glance. “And I'm quite lucky he let me in.”
Law’s eyes narrowed ever so slightly, but he quickly masked it with his usual impassive expression. “Enough about me,” he said smoothly, redirecting the conversation. “Let’s get you something to drink.” He turned toward the drink table, eager to move on.
As the two of you moved through the gala, a sense of ease settled between you. The people who approached were friendly, curious, and all too eager to meet the mysterious woman who had somehow captured the heart of the elusive surgeon. Law, as always, seemed somewhat distant, but there was a subtle shift in his demeanor, as if the weight of the event was just a little lighter with you by his side.
“Well, well, if it isn't the lovely girlfriend!” Shachi grinned, giving you a dramatic bow before standing up straight again. “You look awesome.”
You couldn’t help but laugh. “Thanks, Shachi. You certainly know how to flatter a girl.”
Penguin let out a low, amused chuckle from behind him. “Yeah, well, Law’s been talking about you for weeks,” he added. “He was so worried about you not showing up and ruining his perfect plan. I’m surprised you agreed to it, honestly.”
You gave Penguin a knowing smile. “What can I say? Someone had to save his ass.” You winked at Law, who stood beside you, his expression neutral, but you caught the slightest twitch at the corner of his mouth.
Shachi leaned casually against the table, clearly enjoying himself, and turned to Law with a mischievous glint in his eye. “So, how does it feel to finally have a real girlfriend? I mean, I’ve been hearing rumors about this for a while, but you’re actually pulling it off, huh?”
Law rolled his eyes but didn’t respond immediately, though you could tell he was trying to keep his cool. “This will be a long night,” he muttered under his breath, but his friends were far too eager to let him off the hook.
Shachi’s grin only grew wider. “I’m just curious—how’s the ‘relationship’ going so far?” He looked at Law, whose jaw was tight, trying to suppress his frustration. “Any sparks flying between the two of you yet?”
“Shachi,” Law said in warning, but he wasn’t listening. Law rolled his eyes, though there was a slight curve to his lips, as if even he couldn’t help but be somewhat entertained by his friends' antics. “I told you I didn’t need this kind of commentary tonight.”
“Yeah, yeah,” Shachi continued, entirely ignoring Law’s attempts to rein him in. “But it’s so much more fun when we do comment.” He threw an arm around Penguin’s shoulder, giving him an exaggerated nudge. “So, Dr. Trafalgar, how’s it feel having your friends finally meet your ‘girlfriend’? You seem so… happy.”
You couldn’t help but laugh, shaking your head at their behaviour. “I’m sure Law’s thrilled by all the attention,” you said, playing the part, your voice dripping with sarcasm.
Law cast you a sideways glance, but there was something warmer in his eyes than before. “Let’s just get through tonight, shall we?” he said, attempting his best authoritative tone, though there was a clear undertone of amusement, as if he was enjoying it just a little more than he let on.
Just as the playful back-and-forth was beginning to die down, a loud, familiar voice cut through the chatter from across the room.
“YOOO! Look who it is!”
Usopp’s boisterous voice rang out, and you barely had time to brace yourself before he was at your side, grinning like a mischievous cat. He was joined by Kaya, who was absolutely stunning in an elegant dress, her eyes sparkling as she waved.
Shit. How had you not considered the possibility that Usopp would be here? Kaya was a nurse at the same hospital as Law, and of course, she’d bring him as her plus-one.
“Usopp, Kaya,” you greeted with a smile, trying to remain composed despite the sudden attention being drawn your way. Usopp's loud voice had already caused a ripple of curiosity to spread through the crowd.
Usopp’s gaze darted between you and Law. “Wait a minute… what are you doing here?” he asked. His voice was just loud enough for the people around you to overhear, making you feel the weight of every set of eyes now shifting in your direction.
You glanced at Law, who was now wearing a mask of calm—though you could tell by the subtle shift in his posture that he wasn’t exactly comfortable with the situation. You quickly shot him an apologetic look, trying to keep things as casual as possible. “Isn't it obvious — I’m with Law,” you said with a playful shrug, hoping your tone would deflect any suspicion and begging to whatever higher power that Usopp won't blow your cover.
Usopp blinked, his eyes widening in disbelief, as if you’d just dropped a bombshell. “With Law?!” His voice jumped an octave, loud enough to draw even more attention, and you felt the heat of a dozen curious stares. Your stomach churned as the pressure mounted.
“Well yeah, we’re dating,” you said quickly, trying to offer him a pointed look that screamed for him to lower his voice. You didn’t look forward to clearing that lie later, though.
“What?!” Usopp exclaimed again, louder this time, and you fought the urge to physically drag him into a quieter corner.
“Oh, for fuck's sake, don't be so loud,” you hissed, resisting the urge to clamp a hand over his mouth. You just needed him to stop.
Your words earned a sharp exhale from Law, who was now standing as still as a statue, his jaw tight and his eyes dark with irritation. Though his face remained unreadable to most, you could detect the flicker of unease behind his usually impenetrable demeanor.
Usopp sharp eye for detail and relentless curiosity meant he was undoubtedly piecing things together in real-time, and the last thing you needed was for him to say something he really shouldn't.
Kaya, sensing the tension, stepped in smoothly. “Usopp,” she said, with a small but knowing smile, “maybe we should let them enjoy the night.” She gently nudged his arm, giving you an apologetic look. “It’s good to see you both. I hope you’re having a good time tonight.”
You nodded, relieved by her intervention. “We’re managing,” you replied before gesturing toward her. “And you? How’s the night treating you so far?”
She laughed. “Oh, it’s been lovely. Usopp keeps insisting he’s the best plus-one anyone could ask for.”
“Because I am!” Usopp interjected, puffing out his chest.
“Nah, I'm way better, right, darling?” you asked playfully, turning to your date.
Law let out a quiet, measured sigh, his eyes narrowing at Usopp, who was still watching far too intently for comfort. Recognizing that all eyes were now firmly on the two of you, he shifted gears seamlessly.
Without missing a beat, he slid an arm around your waist and pulled you a fraction closer. His hand rested lightly yet possessively against your side as he glanced at you with a smirk. “Obviously.”
The gesture—and his confident tone—left Usopp momentarily speechless, his mouth opening and closing like a fish out of water. Even Kaya seemed surprised, her eyes darting between the two of you before a knowing smile tugged at her lips.
You couldn’t help but feel a sense of satisfaction, both at Law’s quick thinking and the way his response had effectively silenced any further speculation from Usopp. “See?” you teased lightly. “Told you.”
Usopp opened his mouth, ready to say something outrageous, but Kaya quickly stepped in, tugging on his arm with a bright laugh. “Come on, Usopp. Let’s grab some appetizers.”
“This isn’t over,” he commented, but he allowed Kaya to steer him toward the other end of the room.
“That was close,” you muttered, glancing up at Law. His hand was still resting lightly on your waist.
He tilted his head down toward .you, “You call that close?”
“Oh, come on,” you whispered back with a grin. “You’ve got to admit, Usopp almost blew it.”
Law’s lips quirked upward. “Almost,” he conceded. Then, lowering his voice even more and murmuring into your ear, he added, “But I don’t mind setting the record straight when needed.”
The way his voice dipped sent a small shiver down your spine, but you quickly composed yourself, stepping slightly closer to him under the pretense of hearing him better.
“Well, you handled it like a pro, Dr. Trafalgar,” you teased softly, leaning just enough to let your words reach his ear.
“Hmm,” he hummed noncommittally.
Before you could respond, the event coordinator’s voice echoed through the hall, announcing the upcoming speeches. The room shifted as the crowd began to find their seats, murmurs of anticipation filling the air.
“You’re up soon,” you reminded him. Reaching out, you placed a reassuring hand on his arm. “You’ve got this,” you said confidently.
He glanced at you, his eyes locking onto yours for a beat, searching for something—maybe reassurance, maybe just the comfort of familiarity—before he nodded, a small but grateful gesture. “Thanks.”
As he made his way toward the stage, you couldn’t help but watch him with a sense of pride, your heart swelling with admiration. Even surrounded by the polished elegance of the event and the watchful eyes of so many people, he carried himself with an unshakable determination.
When he reached the podium, the crowd fell silent. He cleared his throat, taking a moment before launching into the speech. He spoke about the advancements in medicine, the importance of community support, and the life-changing surgeries that the hospital’s team performed. But when he mentioned his team and thanked everyone for their hard work, his gaze subtly flickered toward you.
For a moment, he dropped the cold exterior. “None of this would be possible without the support of everyone here,” he said. “And a special thanks to my friends and…my better half, who has been my constant rock. It’s easy to get lost in the hospital. But she keeps me grounded.”
The sincerity in his words was unmistakable. His eyes lingered on you for a fraction of a second—long enough for you to feel the weight of his gratitude—before he looked away, the professional composure sliding back into place effortlessly.
The applause that followed was thunderous, but you barely heard it over the warmth blooming in your chest. As Law stepped down from the podium, his expression was back to its usual stoicism, but the slight flush to his cheeks and the quick glance he shot your way told you everything.
As the applause slowly died down, Law made his way back toward you, weaving through the clusters of guests who offered him brief nods and congratulatory remarks. His posture was relaxed, but you could see the faint tension in the set of his shoulders—a clear sign that he was bracing for your inevitable teasing.
When he finally reached you, you wasted no time, leaning in with a mischievous grin. “For someone who wanted to ‘get through the night,’ you sure know how to captivate an audience,” you teased. “And what was that about ‘the one who keeps me grounded’? Are you getting sentimental on me?”
He stopped in front of you, hands sliding casually into his pockets as his eyes met yours. “Don’t start,” he muttered, though there was no real bite in his tone. “I said what needed to be said.”
“Oh, I see,” you replied, crossing your arms and tilting your head. “So, I’m just ‘what needed to be said’ now?”
He leaned in slightly, his voice dipping to a hushed tone meant only for you. “If you’d prefer, I can take it all back.”
“Not a chance,” you shot back, unable to keep the playful edge out of your voice. “It’s on record now. Everyone here knows I’m the one keeping you grounded.”
Before he could respond, Shachi and Penguin appeared, clearly having caught at least part of the exchange. Shachi was grinning ear to ear, while Penguin’s expression held a more subdued amusement.
“That speech was something else,” Shachi said, clapping Law on the back with exaggerated enthusiasm. “Especially that part about being grounded. You’re getting soft.”
Law’s glare shifted to Shachi, though it lacked any real venom. “Don’t you have someone else to annoy?” he asked, his voice dry.
“Not when you’re providing this much entertainment,” Shachi shot back without missing a beat.
Law rolled his eyes but didn’t bother responding, deciding it wasn’t worth the effort. Instead, he turned his attention back to you. “Are you enjoying yourself yet?” he asked
You pretended to consider his question, tapping a finger to your chin. “Hmm... between the impromptu Usopp interrogation, the surprise shout-out during your speech, and Shachi’s relentless commentary?” You grinned. “Yeah, I’d say I’m having a great time.”
Law exhaled sharply, but there was a brief twitch at the corner of his mouth. “Good,” he sighed. “At least one of us is.”
Just as you were forming your response, the event coordinator approached the two of you. “Dr. Trafalgar, your presence is requested for some photos with the donors,” she said, her gaze flicking to you briefly. “And, of course, your lovely girlfriend is welcome to join.”
Law hesitated, his eyes narrowing. You could practically hear the gears turning in his head as he weighed the pros and cons of dragging you into yet another spotlight moment.
You decided to save him the trouble. “We’d be happy to,” you said smoothly, looping your arm through his. “Right, darling?”
The look he shot you was nothing short of murderous, but you only smiled sweetly, patting his arm as the coordinator led you both toward the photographer’s setup.
After the photos, you wandered back to the main room, weaving through the crowd. You spotted Usopp and Kaya near the dessert table, Usopp animatedly telling a story while Kaya giggled beside him. Heart-shaped chocolates and delicate pastries adorned the table, and you decided to grab a couple of treats before heading back to your corner of the room.
“Here,” you said, holding out a piece of chocolate to Law as you both settled near the bar.
He eyed it skeptically. “What’s this?”
“Chocolate,” you replied, popping one into your mouth. “It’s Valentine’s Day. You’re supposed to eat chocolate. It’s practically a rule.”
Law sighed, but he took the chocolate from your hand, his fingers brushing yours briefly in the exchange. He bit into it. “It’s good,” he admitted after a moment.
You smirked. “See? Valentine’s Day isn’t all bad.”
“You’re enjoying this far too much.”
Despite the occasional hiccup—like Usopp’s not-so-subtle attempts to sneak more information out of you—it was hard to deny that you and Law actually did have a great time. The whole evening felt surprisingly natural, even with the added touches and pet names that came with playing your part.
But as the night went on, the carefully constructed charade began to blur, leaving you to wonder if there was something genuine simmering beneath the surface. A fleeting warmth in the way he looked at you, a brush of his hand that lingered just a moment too long. You quickly shook the thought away before it could root itself further.
“You know,” you started, breaking the silence, “Usopp already texted everyone the news.”
Law’s brow furrowed as he glanced at you. “What news?”
You raised an eyebrow, giving him a pointed look.
“Oh. Right,” he said, the realization dawning on his face.
“Yeah,” you chuckled, crossing your arms. “I had to turn my sound off completely—the group chat went insane.”
Law let out a quiet groan and reached for his phone, pulling it from his pocket with a resigned air. He turned the phone toward you, revealing a string of increasingly enthusiastic messages from Luffy:
This is amaizing!!!!
I'M SO HAPPY!!!
GOOD FOR YOU!!!
WHEN DID THIS HAPEN??
Tell me evrything RIGHT NOW!!!
You burst out laughing, nearly doubling over as you read the flood of texts. Law pinched the bridge of his nose, muttering something about how ridiculous Luffy was, but the small, reluctant smirk tugging at his lips betrayed his amusement.
“Looks like someone’s excited for us,” you teased, still laughing.
Law rolled his eyes, though the faintest trace of a blush colored his cheeks. “Luffy’s always excited about something. This’ll blow over. We will explain it later or something.”
You swallowed your disappointment and tried to focus on anything other than the fact that today was not as real as it seemed. Your eyes drifted forward just as the band started playing a slow, romantic tune, and couples began rushing toward the dance floor. You could feel the weight of the moment pressing down, the atmosphere practically begging for you to make a move.
“Well, darling,” you said, extending your hand toward him with an exaggerated flourish. “Care to dance?”
Law stared at you, his expression caught somewhere between incredulous and amused. “You’re joking.”
“Not even a little,” you wiggled your fingers at him. “It’s Valentine’s Day. What’s a fake relationship without a dance under the romantic lighting?”
He let out a quiet groan but took your hand anyway, his grip firm and steady. As he led you to the dance floor, you couldn’t help but marvel at how natural it felt.
For a moment, you both moved hesitantly, as if testing the waters. Law wasn’t one to engage in things like this—public displays of affection, no matter how fake, didn’t exactly come naturally to him. Yet, as the rhythm of the music settled between you, his movements became smoother, more confident. You matched his pace, the two of you falling into an unspoken synchrony.
“You’re better at this than I expected,” you murmured, glancing up at him.
“Don’t get used to it,” he replied, his voice low enough that only you could hear. “This isn’t exactly my idea of a great time.”
You chuckled, your fingers instinctively tightening their grip on his shoulder. “Could’ve fooled me. You’re surprisingly good at this.”
He raised an eyebrow, his eyes flickering with amusement. “Surprisingly?”
“Well,” you said with a smile, “you don’t exactly scream ‘slow-dance enthusiast.’
Law huffed, but there was no real irritation behind it. He was paying more attention to the way your body moved in sync with his, the way you shifted your weight with each step.
The scent of his cologne was subtle but intoxicating, and the way his eyes stayed locked on yours made it impossible to look away.
“This isn’t so bad,” you murmured, almost to yourself.
“I’ll take that as a compliment.”
“It was meant as one,” you said, your thumb gently brushing the fabric of his suit jacket. “I know this isn’t exactly your scene. Thanks for humoring me.”
For a moment, something shifted in his expression. The guardedness that usually defined him seemed to waver, replaced by something more vulnerable, something unspoken. His grip on your waist tightened ever so slightly, pulling you closer, and the distance between you narrowed until you could feel the subtle brush of his chest against yours.
“You’re doing all of this for me, the least I can do is survive dancing for your sake,” he answered in his usual manner, and yet, it sounded somehow warmer. Then he added teasingly, “darling”
You tried to diminish how much you loved that nickname coming from his lips.
As the music faded, applause broke out around the room, snapping you back to reality. Law stepped back a little, his hand falling away from your waist, but the warmth of his touch stayed. He looked at you for a moment longer, his gaze searching, before he cleared his throat and glanced away, the mask of composure slipping back into place.
“Let’s get off the dance floor,” he said, his tone returning to its usual cool detachment. But there was a faint flush to his cheeks that you couldn’t ignore.
“Not bad for someone who doesn’t like Valentine’s Day,” you teased, keeping your tone light, even though your heartbeat had quickened as you followed him off the dancefloor.
Law’s pace remained steady, his hands tucked casually into his pockets as his amber eyes met yours. “I never said I didn’t like it. Just that it’s… unnecessary.”
“Unnecessary?” You arched a brow, tilting your head. “Celebrating love and connection? That sounds pretty necessary to me.”
His grin grew. “If you need a commercial holiday to remind you of that, you’re doing something wrong.”
You couldn’t help but laugh at his bluntness. “Touché,” you admitted, the moment feeling strangely intimate despite the dozens of other couples around you. He put his hand on your back and gently led you to sit down in the corner. You sat in silence for a moment before speaking again.
“So, are you enjoying the night yet? Or are you still counting down the minutes until it’s over?”
Law let out a quiet chuckle. “I’m surviving,” he replied dryly, though the corners of his lips twitched as though he couldn’t fully keep the amusement from showing. “If I’m being honest, it’s… not as bad as I thought it would be,” he sounded sheepish as he added. “Your presence makes it more bearable.”
A warmth blossomed in your chest at his words, and before you could stop yourself, you leaned in slightly, your cheek brushing his shoulder. You felt him stiffen for a split second, but then he relaxed, putting his head on yours.
“I didn’t think I’d be… enjoying it,” he continued, his fingers brushing through your hair as if absentmindedly. “But I think I might’ve been wrong.”
You lifted your head just enough to look at him, finding his gaze already locked on yours. There was no mask of indifference now—just a rare moment of vulnerability, one that you hadn’t often seen. It was disarming. His hand gently cupped the side of your face, his thumb brushing across your cheekbone, and you could feel the slight tremor in his fingers.
Your heart fluttered unexpectedly, and you were unsure of what to say, or even if you should say anything at all. The quiet, unspoken understanding between you was enough.
“Well, well, well! Look at you two, all cozy!”
It was Shachi, followed closely by Penguin, and some other colleagues of Law from the hospital. You froze for a split second, pulling away from Law just as his hand dropped from your cheek. Both of you turned toward the intruder, finding a group of Law’s colleagues standing a few feet away.
One of the surgeons, a tall man with a broad grin, chuckled as he shook his head. “Honestly, Law, I didn’t think you were the type to be so… affectionate.”
Law’s face immediately shifted to that calm, composed mask he wore so well, but you could see the hint of a blush creeping up his neck. He scoffed. “What did you expect? For me to keep five feet away from someone I care about?”
“We’re just surprised,” the nurse you spoke with first today, smiled softly at the two of you. “But it’s nice to see you so… relaxed. We don’t usually get to see this side of you.” Her tone wasn’t mocking; instead, it held a kind, almost approving quality.
It was clear that they all weren’t just teasing for the sake of teasing—they were happy to see him like this. This side of Law, the one who didn’t always hide behind his usual walls, was a rare sight for most people.
“I guess there’s a first time for everything,” Law muttered, trying to keep the situation under control while simultaneously not looking entirely displeased.
As if she couldn’t resist, one of the younger doctors, smirked at you and asked, “So, come on, how did you two get together? Law didn’t want to say a word about it.” Her grin widened as she leaned in, waiting for some kind of juicy story.
You chuckled, glancing at Law, who raised an eyebrow at you as if daring you to come up with an appropriate response.
“Of course he didn’t.” You nudged him playfully. “He’s never been the type to spill the details, has he?”
“Come on, Law,” Shachi prodded. “We’re dying to know the real story.”
“Well,” you interjected. “If you're looking for something juicy, I’m afraid I have to disappoint. We were just good friends for quite a while before it just clicked that there’s more and there’s no running from it. So, with a kiss, we sealed the deal, and are together just like that.” It seemed like a story that could be real, that would suit you both, and what kind of people you are together.
“That’s actually a pretty decent story, considering how tight-lipped you’ve been, Law,” he remarked.
Law shot him a sidelong glance. “I’m not in the habit of sharing my private life with everyone.”
The woman with long hair, delighted by the revelation, nudged Shachi playfully. “Well, it’s good to know Law isn’t entirely immune to matters of the heart. Who knew?” she said with a wink, enjoying the rare opportunity to see her usually composed colleague looking so flustered.
“I never said I was,” Law replied, though there was a faint hint of a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth now. His fingers brushed briefly against yours as he shifted, the touch so fleeting it could have been accidental.
You beamed at him, savoring the fact that, despite his usual reticence, he hadn’t shut down the conversation.
“Well, now that we’ve got that out of the way,” you turned to the group, “any more questions?
“Not if you want to keep your secrets,” Shachi teased. “I think we’ve learned enough for tonight.”
“Although…” Penguin started, his grin widening as he rubbed his chin in exaggerated thought.
“Alright, alright,” Law interjected, probably scared that more question may blow your cover. “You’ve had your fun.”
The playful banter continued for a few more moments, with the group lightheartedly poking fun at Law, but without pushing too far. It was clear they were genuinely enjoying seeing him in a different light. Even you couldn't help but express delight at how the evening had turned out.
“Alright,” you said, nudging Law lightly with your elbow, “I think we’ve officially survived the interrogation. How about we grab some drinks and escape before they start asking for our love story in full detail?” you whispered.
“Fine by me,” he stated, standing up and offering you a hand. “Excuse us for a moment.”
You took his hand, your fingers curling around his with ease. He led you both to the bar and ordered your drinks. When you took them, you found seats nearby.
“They have a point, you know,” you commented, leaning back in your seat, sipping your drink. “You’re surprisingly sweet with me.”
“Don’t start,” he warned, though there was no bite to his words.
“I’m just saying, the way you act tonight—” you paused, letting the words linger in the air, “it’s… kind of adorable.”
“You’re walking a fine line,” he murmured, his tone just low enough that only you could hear, and there was that familiar spark of challenge in it.
You grinned. “I think the real question is, why do you make it so easy for me to tease you?” You leaned back again, propping your elbow on the armrest, your eyes glinting with playful mischief. “Maybe I’m onto something.”
“You’re lucky I don’t have a stronger reaction to you, or I’d make sure you regret that.”
You raised an eyebrow, surprised by the hint of seriousness in his voice. “Oh? Is that a threat, Law?” you asked, half-challenging, half-curious.
He leaned in just slightly, his gaze softening but still intense. “Only if you push your luck too far,” he replied. It was supposed to be a warning, and yet it sounded way…warmer. You felt the air shift between you, the playful tone fading into something more subtle.
Before you could respond, the sound of laughter from across the room caught your attention, and you noticed some of Law’s colleagues still milling about, their eyes frequently darting toward the two of you. They probably thought their glances were subtle, but they really weren’t.
“Wanna bet they’re talking about us?”
Law smirked, his eyes flicking toward the group before returning to you. “I’m not betting against something that is 100% true.”
You chuckled, lifting your drink to your lips as you watched them huddle together in hushed conversation, clearly intrigued by the dynamic between the two of you. The whole thing was both amusing and oddly satisfying, considering how little effort you'd actually put into keeping this charade together.
“So,” you said, breaking the silence with a light tone, “what now? Do we stick around and continue surviving this ‘unnecessary’ holiday, or do we make our grand exit?”
“I think we’ve done enough, surviving for one night,” he declared, standing and offering his hand to you with a knowing glint in his eyes. “Come on. Let’s get out of here.”
You took his hand, your fingers wrapping around his with the familiar ease. “I like the sound of that.”
As you made your way toward the exit, you said your goodbyes to everyone, your eyes catching a few lingering, amused stares from Law's colleagues.
“Well, I think we’ve both survived tonight, haven’t we?” you asked, glancing up at him with a teasing look, trying to gauge his mood as you stepped outside.
“I suppose we have,” he said, his voice quieter now. “Though, I’m not sure what’s worse—the questions or your teasing.”
You laughed lightly, squeezing his hand gently. “I think you can handle both.”
“Apparently,” he said quietly, his thumb brushing over the back of your hand in a gesture that was almost imperceptible but undeniably intimate.
Instead of calling for a taxi, Law started leading you toward the nearby park. You certainly didn’t mind the extra time with him—after the whirlwind of the evening, the peaceful solitude of the park felt like a perfect escape.
When you reached a bench by a small pond, Law sat down, and you followed suit, the two of you settling next to each other. For a few moments, neither of you said anything. It felt like the perfect continuation of the night—no more questions, no more performances, just the two of you.
“Thank you.”
You gazed at him, surprised by the unexpected gratitude in his tone. “You're welcome,” you replied casually, the corners of your lips lifting just slightly. “I had fun.”
“You did?”
“Yeah,” you answered, your grin widening a little. “Did you?”
“I did actually.”
“Good” you said simply. “You know now that they’ll just bother and tease you about me, right?” you added teasingly after a moment.
He gave you a side-glance, his expression unreadable at first, but something in his gaze softened as it lingered on you. “I can survive that.”
You sat in silence, the quiet comfortable, with your hand still intertwined with his, even though there was no one around that you had to pretend for.
After a while, Law spoke quietly, “That story…”
“Huh?” You blinked, trying to recall what he might be referring to.
“About how we apparently came to be… you made it quite believable.” You suddenly remembered your words from earlier: We were just good friends for quite a while before it just clicked that there’s more and there’s no running from it. So, with a kiss, we sealed the deal, and are together just like that.
“Well…um, it sounded plausible, did it not?” you said, as you tried to brush off the nerves creeping up.
“It did.” Silence fell again, but this time, it felt different. You wrecked your head as to what to say. You looked at him, hoping for something to break the tension, and found him already focused solely on you. The intensity of it made it harder to find the right words.
But you didn’t have to say anything—his lips found yours in a tender kiss, slow and gentle, as if testing the waters for something deeper. The world around you seemed to fade away as you leaned into the kiss, your fingers threading through his hair. The moment felt suspended in time, perfect in its simplicity.
When he finally pulled back, his hand still resting against your cheek, you noticed a subtle smile playing at the corners of his lips. It was the kind of smile that made your chest tighten, the kind that carried a quiet promise, and the warmth that spread through you was more than just the remnants of the kiss.
“Well, that solidifies that it was all true.”
You heard the familiar voice of Usopp. The sudden intrusion snapped you out of the trance the moment had put you in.
You rolled your eyes, not even glancing in his direction, your focus remaining entirely on Law. “Get lost, Nose-ya. Now,” Law muttered, his voice stern, his gaze unwavering from yours.
“Alright, alright, I’m going!” Usopp chuckled, but you weren’t about to let him ruin your moment, not when it felt so real, so raw. You kept your focus on Law, and for a few seconds, there was just the two of you again, the world falling away once more.
“So, is my story true then?” you asked, a playful glint in your eyes.
“Yeah, it is,” he replied, his voice steady but carrying that quiet confidence you’d grown accustomed to.
You laughed, shaking your head in disbelief. “Can’t believe it happened on Valentine’s Day, after pretending to date for an event.”
“Maybe Valentine's Day isn't so bad after all,” he said, the words almost an afterthought. And you couldn’t help but agree as you tugged him closer, your lips finding his in a kiss that was even more intense than the first.
When you finally pulled back, both of you breathless, you looked into his eyes, and something settled in your chest—this was just the beginning of something, something you both weren’t willing to let go of. It was there in the way he looked at you, the way he held you close. You could feel it in your bones that whatever this was, it was real. And it was only just starting.
“Maybe you’re right,” you whispered, your thumb gently brushing over his hand. “Valentine’s Day might not be so bad… when it ends like this.”
He smirked at you. “We’ll see if you still feel that way next year,” he said, the challenge in his voice playful, but there was no mistaking the certainty in his words.
“You wanna fake-date me for Valentine’s Day next year too?”
His expression softened, the usual sharpness in his gaze replaced by something more tender as his hand brushed gently across your cheek. “No,” he responded quietly, his voice warm and sincere. “I want to be with you—for real.”

𝐁𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐖𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐁𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐥 𝐖𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐝𝐞
↳ warnings: none
↳ song: let's misbehave—cole porter and others
↳ notes: the fact i don't even care for the show and this is my second fic. save me alastor. save me.
masterlist | commissions | carrd
• It had been something of a shock when you found out that the giant joke of a hotel up the street was housing one of your oldest friends
• Alastor and you had run into each other during one of his first years in hell. A time when people still felt brave enough to point and laugh at him on the street without fear of being slaughtered
• You weren’t anything important at the time. Not an overlord or anything of the sort; just a regular sinner that died unexpectedly ended up face first on the concrete. Nothing to bat an eye at, really
• But for some reason, Alastor had been curtious to you all the same. Maybe it was the apologetic tip of your head you offered after accidentally running into him, or perhaps something else. Whatever it may be, the two of you wasted no time becoming fast friends. As long as you didn't mind the gore or screams of terror that is.
• And decades later, there you were, knocking slowly on a grand front door to pay him a long overdue visit
• Charlie and the rest of the hotel guests had been positively floored when you showed up in modern clothes and an easy-going ‘hello’, looking nothing like any friend of the Radio Demon
• “There has to be something wrong with you!” Angel Dust exclaimed, peering down at you in a stripped pink suit as he stood slack jawed. “No way Al has a normal friend. I mean none of us do either, but Alastor??”
• You think they were just shocked that Alastor had a friend outside of other overlords. And one he wasn’t using to make a deal with, nonetheless
• Husk and Nifty were the only ones that seemed unaffected by you. Not surprising, considering that you had met them both on separate occasions
• It only took one look from Husk behind his bar before was hopping out of the booth, mumbling to you that he would go get his boss. You just chuckled as he left
• Alastor was quick to materialize from behind you mere seconds later, wearing one of his larger smiles
• “My old pal! Oh how wonderful it is to see you again! It has been too long, I must say. Too long indeed!” The powerful demon laughed good naturedly . He held a hand out to you, and shook your arm with vigor as you returned the notion
• “Good to hear your voice again.” You said honestly, and smiled slightly at the familiar static pouring from his speech. He always has a way with words. “But really Alastor. Redemption? What are you up to this time.”
• “Hah! You know me too well, my dear.” He smiled deviously, twirling his staff from hand to hand as Charlie’s expression formed an offended pout behind him. You ignored it in favor of laughing with Alastor
• The demon wasted no time ushering you around the hotel for a good old fashioned walk-and-talk. It had been so long since he had last truly seen you, and there was just so much to catch up on! Of course, his events were a bit more exciting, so to speak, than yours, but the point still stands
• “— and oh how absolutely wondrous her screams were!” He cooed to himself, curling a clawed hand around the top of his staff in mirth
• “Alastor, you know how much I love your storytelling," You hummed slowly. "But mind telling me a bit about this hotel instead? Like what exactly you're doing here?”
• “Oh right! Of course!" He cleared his throat. "It all started when I saw this horrendous advertisement in one of those blasted T.V windows —"
• "Hey!"
• Judging from the shocked gasp that could be heard from behind you, Charlie didn’t take that too well
• More visits were made to Hazbin Hotel over the coming months. The more you came, the longer you stayed. Sometimes, you would just listen in on Alastor’s broadcasts like old times, or take to sitting at the bar as everyone else ran around like their heads were on fire
• Which happened more than you'd like to admit
• In the meantime, you became acquainted with all types of new faces; from a trio of bizarre eggs to the lord of hell himself
• Alastor had been very cagey that day.
• "Great to meet you, sir. Charlie’s talked about you before, and it's very nice to put a face to the name." You said politely while taking one of Lucifer's hands in both of yours to shake it. He just grinned uncontrollably response and made star eyes at the thought of his daughter mentioning him
• "Alright I think that's enough for introductions!" An irritated voice rang from beside you, practically overflowing with an aggressive amount of static
• "Oh shut up Alastor. I'm shaking the king of hell's hand. Let me have this."

Heeey, if u dont wanna answer this that's fine! But just wondering what's Travis done? (Im not a fan or anything lol, legit curious). Now that i think about it, i think he's irl friends (like, outside of work) with that mahommes guy whose brother... well, trigerring topic but ye his brother's a piece of shit and that guy's wife im pretty sure defended the brother + is a trumpie💀. But i dont follow them/usamerican football so ive just heard about these things casually. I think there were also some weird tweets from years back? Guess i answered my own question lol. Wild the kcc also have that "women should stay home" at a uni graduation speech guy...
welcome to the materpost.
im making this so i can always have something to refer back to when people ask, and this isnt gonna include personal opinions as facts (like how i just find him very attention-seeking and annoying, that's just personal opinion) but it will cover all the main terrible things he's done as well as the bad stuff people he (and now taylor) voluntarily choose to associate with.
don't know where to begin so i'll just start from where i remember
people found his old tweets where he was ableist (making fun of autism and saying the r slur), fatphobic towards women, misogynistic and homophobic.
him along with the chiefs decided to visit trump at the white house in 2020, after many teams declined bc they didnt want to publicly associate with a fascist, but travis was down!
he then also got caught liking an instagram post about trump
he has said recently he would be going to visit trump again in the white house if they win the superbowl.
when asked about how he felt about Trump going to the Super Bowl and playing in front of him, he said it was “pretty cool” and “an honor”.
he also made a r*pe joke, (first part in the clip) he was asked what word turned him on and he said when women say 'no' and then laughed and he was "kidding".
in the second part of that same clip in the previous bullet point, he's also xenophobic! on a podcast he said "if you dont speak english, then what are you doing here (in america)" and then proceeded to laugh when the host says he tells them the wrong directions on purpose.
he also 'jokingly' (no one laughed) called women "breeders" when discussing what women he was interested in.
he, alongside the chiefs, stood in solidarity with Israel by doing a ‘moment of silence’ before a game. i know people are gonna try and find excuses for him by saying ‘he was just doing what his team did, what was he supposed to do, etc’ nonsense, but that implies he was forced and had no choice; which he did. he also could have spoken up about the genocide/palestine afterwards but he stood in solidarity with Israel and has silent ever since.
he has a history of violent temper tantrums, and no him being a football player isnt an excuse. men using violence to get through their emotions isnt something to be normalized. he has had multiple instances of extreme aggression, including a screaming match with his couch at last years Superbowl, screamed at a ref and threw his helmet, also punching his own teammate during practice, and punching opposing players during games.
he's best friends with machine gun kelly, they grew up together and have remained close to this day. MGK has been openly racist, misogynistic, has said he sees nothing wrong with sleeping with minors, etc.
he defended his teammate, harrison butker (who was the guy who gave the viral problematic commencement speech, saying "women should be most excited about their marriage and the children they will bring into this world" and "things like abortion, IVF, surrogacy, euthanasia, as well as a growing support for degenerate cultural values and media all stem from pervasiveness of disorder,” and called Pride Month “the deadly sin sort of pride,” and specifically criticized the LGBTQ community, which he claimed promotes “dangerous gender ideologies.").... anyway travis defended THAT guy, saying he cherishes him as a teammate and said "he is every bit of a great person and a great teammate." and said harrison treats everyone with "nothing but respect and kindness, we’re not always going to agree … but I understand the person that he is and he’s trying to do whatever he can to lead people in the right direction." Travis then said 'everyone has different opinions and that's what's great about this country'. he flat out said hating gay people and women are what make this country great.
travis is also besties with known racist, morgan wallen (who got caught saying the n word, promised to donate money to charities fighting for racial justice and then just didnt), and joined him on stage last august. oh and travis was also wearing a harrison butker jersey during the concert... supporting him once again, just 3 months after his bigoted speech.
travis is also besties with the mahomes, now lets talk about him and taylors new besties they voluntarily love spending time with.
the main issue isnt really patrick mahomes (another player on the chiefs), it's brittany (his wife) and jackson (his brother)
jackson sexually assaulted a woman at a restaurant by grabbing her and forcibly kissing her. she reported the assault and he reportedly tried to bribe her into shutting up, but then she faced such harassment from his fans that the restaurant shut down and the case was dismissed despite video evidence of it happening.
brittany defended jackson and became a vocal assault apologist by saying "he is a human just trying to live his life and find his way and until you walk a day in his shoes (which no one ever will) you have no right to say shit about him".
last summer, brittany got called out for liking a post by trump where he outlined his plans for being president in 2025, including starting the largest deportation operation in history, zionist propaganda, and transphobic rhetoric about not wanting trans women in women's sports. she then defended it and doubled down vocalizing her supprt for trump.
brittany being transphobic about not wanting trans women in women's sports is deeply concerning due to the fact she is the co-owner of Kansas City Current, a team in the American professional top-division National Women's Soccer League.

to me, other than jackie (and later johnny), i seriously think viktor vektor is one of the only other people in the entire game who truly cares about v; unconditionally.
like vik never asks anything from v. he doesn't beg v to help him with something or give them a "if you help me, i'll help you" speech. he helps v solely just because he cares about them and their wellbeing. like before the heist, vik is willing to give v the koroshi optics just because!! gives away 20k worth of cyberware with a slap of an I.O.U and a promise to pay him back in the future. which is OPTIONAL???? he never even expected v to return the money at all either. he did it just because he wanted to see v chase their dreams of becoming a legend. and if i'm remembering correctly, when you do go to pay him back, he gets upset with v, brushes it off as a favor, and tells them NO!!! that is until v insists he takes it!!
not only that but also vik giving v a couple of his old jackets from his younger, punk days? that's so cute. telling them he doesn't want them to get cold when they get to the big leagues like vik cares SO MUCH for v and it makes my heart weep for him later in the game.
for he, who had just lost jackie as well, who now had to sit and watch as another very important person in his life die. slip through his fingers where he had no control over it— he couldn't do anything to save v from the relic and it killed him. i can’t imagine how many sleepless nights he must have had after v was dragged to his place by goro. and after HE had to give them the bad news. sitting awake in his little makeshift office, mulling over and over again what he could do to help or to make things easier; only to come up with the exact same solution again and again—that he couldn’t.
and yet, he tried to make things easier, joke around and laugh with v. cheer them on during their fight and even coach them through the round. but watching someone you love and care for so deeply literally…dying before your eyes, god. and the fact that vik, no matter what, always welcomes v back into his life with open arms?? no questions asked??
UGHHHHH i love him.
#zev zev!!#zev’s thoughts!!#cp2077#cp77#cyberpunk v#cyberpunk 2077#ripperdoc vik#viktor cyberpunk#viktor x v#viktor vektor#male v cyberpunk#fem v#cp77 v#fem v cyberpunk#cyberpunk#this might be an unpopular opinion idk but vik truly is the one unconditional supporter to v 😭#like everyone else in the game wants something FROM v except vik who only wants to see v grow 😭#and this doesn’t mean that no one else cares about v but every other characters in the game ASKS something from v#i love all the characters !!!#just something about vik caring so deeply for v IDK IDK I LOVE HIIIIM#it’s insane how much chemistry v has with everyone ugh

Supe Preference: How They Propose
Requested: I know you already did a preference with how they propose but please please please do this with the supes! I think it would be amazing. thank you thank you thank you ♥️♥️♥️ - anon
A/N: I hope you like it my love!!! This was so fun to write, I love exploring their characters!!! Feedback is always appreciated 💕
Homelander makes sure he's got a crowd with his supporters when he pulls out a ring and gets on one knee, asking you to marry him. There are cameras and reporters there, too. They will run stories about the most powerful man in the world finding his one true love, the sparkle in his eyes when he looks at you, the faulter in his voice when he asks you. Everyone who saw it for themselves says it was the most romantic speech they've ever heard. This will do great for his public support and image. His fans are all about traditional values. Homelander staying a bachelor makes his fans antsy, nervous, like he can't settle down. Now he's doing that. You, John, and Ryan will be the perfect little family. An instant family, actually. People cheer and whistle and cry. You say yes, because there is no other choice. And you hug and kiss, and he directs you were to look and what questions to answer like when the wedding will be or the color palette you'll choose. He makes jokes and quips that everyone laughs at.
The Deep asks you to marry him on television. You were placed together because you have fantastic ratings, and he could use a little boost in the public eye. You haven't been "dating" for very long but, as he puts it in his speech, he doesn't need to have known you for a long time to know that you're the one for him. You smile, and even she'd a few tears before putting the ring on and kissing him. You're not actually getting married, at least not legally, but Ashley already has color swatches and flowers and venues. It'll be the wedding of the century. You make sure, behind closed doors, he doesn't get the wrong idea. You put on a good act. You're smart and stunning, and you could have any Supe you want. When the inevitable divorce happens, you'll come out the better for it. Interviews, book deals, and talk shows. You'll ruin him. You just have to get through the next few months without any hiccups. You have to make sure he doesn't do anything stupid or vulgar. That, in itself, is a full-time job. You talk through grit teeth in your smile, telling him not to fuck this up for you.
A-Train does it out of desperation. You and Reggie were high school sweethearts. You were together when he was let in the The Seven, and you've stayed with him through every bump in the road. When things with Homelander get really tough, really scary, Reggie pops the question. It's not the most romantic drive for the proposal, but if anything ever happened to him because of Vought and Homelander he wants you to have access to everything he'd leave behind. All the money, the deals, everything. You can only get that through marriage. He loves you, he's loved you forever, but he does this not solely out of love. He can't. This decision is too big and has too much weight. He has to protect you, to save you from what he's had to deal with. You don't know any of this about the engagement though, so you say yes, proclaiming it one of the happiest days of your life. You understand some of the tension, but Reggies too afraid to go into detail. You'd worry too much. He can't do that to you.
Maeve blurts it out during a fight. You're tired of being hidden. You're tired of keeping things so low-key, rescheduling because she has to go play house with Homelander. You're both yelling at one another when she asks you if you want to marry her. Of course you do, you say, angry that she would think anything different. Then let's get married, she yells. Fine! She storms off into the linen closet where the small box sits between two towels. You hated them and said they were too scratchy. You never would have looked there. She hands it to you, and when you open it, you're speechless. You always said things about jewelery in passing: silver or gold, the cuts you like, the gems if diamonds aren't your thing. You're angry and then you're not. It's a lot to think about (knowing you and Maggie could never go public, it would put you and her in far too much danger) and yet, the answer is so clear. Yes. Yes you want to spend the rest of your life with her. That's all you've ever wanted.
Firecracker asks you live on her show. You always knew she'd want to include her fans. They're a big part of her life, her popularity, and a huge reason why she's even part of The Seven. Her audience has heard stories about you from the beginning. They heard all about your first date, how cute she thought you were. It's only right they be included in this. So, under the idea that you're doing an interview about being in a relationship with one of The Seven members, you agree. When she asks you, you're speechless. Everyone is cheering and whistling. Of course it's a yes! That episode of her show goes pretty viral. Some of her fans are upset and turn on her, but for the most part they're all happy you're now engaged. Ashley is happy, too. Misty's ratings haven't been great as of late, but this stunt makes her a fan favorite all over again. Her audience agrees with the traditional values of marriage, family, etc.
Soldier Boy always wanted to get married, settle down with a white pickett fence, and a couple of kids. He certainly thought it would have been sooner than this, but he's still young, and he wouldn't have found you if everything hadn't happened. Still, it's been on his mind. He sees you with him in that house, with those kids. There's one thing to be grateful for out of all this. Ben isn't a huge romantic. You're not expecting rose petals and candles. Instead, he rolls over in bed one lazy morning and pops the question. You think he's joking, saying that's not funny when it's something you wanted forever. He's serious, though. He's got the ring and everything. It takes you a minute to realize this is all real. Of course, you say yes! When you do, he attacks you in kisses, grinning from ear to ear. You go out and celebrate, drinking until the room spins, telling anyone who will listen that you're getting married.
Sister Sage comes to you with a list of pros and cons. Some are big, like the commitment of marriage and the issues behind the traditional values. Others are relatively small to you, like the number of books she'd bring with her when you got a place together. You and Sage have been together a long time. You know she has thousands of books, you know she's thoughtful about everything except her own messiness, her own chaos. It's up to you to decide. She leaves her list with you, but before she can step through the door you're already saying yes, explaining your feelings about the whole situation. You love her. You know she has faults, God knows you have yours. And she still loves you not despite them, but because of them. She wasn't really expecting you to say yes, at least so immediately, so you'll have to wait on the ring. It was the easiest yes of your life.

Misread
“I’m not sure what to do with you, Garrus.”
Garrus looks up with a start from his pile of gear to find Shepard leaning casually against a row of lockers in the Normandy’s cargo bay. He’d been so engrossed in inventorying his arsenal for Williams he hadn’t even heard Shepard come out of engineering.
“Sir?”
Shepard eyes him from crest to talons, as though he’s a requisitions manifest that doesn’t match inventory. Despite being reasonably sized for a human – in Garrus’ experience, anyway, which isn’t exactly extensive – Shepard barely comes up to his chin. And yet somehow Garrus feels a lot like a pyjack standing next to a varren that hasn’t decided just how hungry it is.
“Well, you’re part of my crew,” Shepard muses. “But you’re not Alliance. You don’t exactly fit in my watch rotation, or know anything about Alliance protocol. Technically, I don’t have any recognized authority over you at all. If you stole this ship from me and waltzed off to hand it to the Hierarchy, you’d probably get a medal.”
“Also probably start a war.”
Alenko snorts from his spot over by the weapons’ bench, where the pistol he’d been working on now lies completely disassembled.
Shepard waves a dismissive hand. “That’s someone else’s problem.” But then he pauses, face scrunching up in ways that faces shouldn’t be able to scrunch. “You know, it probably would be my problem, actually.”
Human faces are distressingly expressive, and Garrus hasn’t been around enough of them to really grasp what it all means. “Uh, while I appreciate the…confidence in my ability to mutiny—”
This isn’t coming out right.
“—I don’t actually have any plans to steal your ship.”
“Good. Because while I may not have authority to give you orders, I’m pretty sure the Council did just give me the authority to put you out my airlock if you don’t follow them.”
Garrus’ mandibles twitch in alarm. It’s a joke…right? Humans like to joke. Surely that’s a universal trait. “I’m very good at calibrating weapons.”
Shepard’s eyebrow raises.
Garrus’ own brow plates shift rather desperately. “You asked what to do with me.”
“Right.” His gaze shifts over to Alenko, who contentedly continues cleaning his pistol. “Any good with mass accelerator cannons?”
“Uh, sure?”
Shepard nods towards the infantry vehicle across the cargo bay. “Then familiarize yourself with the Mako over there. Pretty sure we’re gonna get a lot of use out of it.”
Alenko groans and rolls his eyes – that one Garrus gets – while muttering something about war crimes under his breath.
“Yes, sir,” Garrus says quickly.
There’s that laser-sharp gaze again. It’s like looking a rail gun in the face. But then Shepard’s face breaks into a grin. “Glad to have you aboard, Garrus.”
“Thank you. Sir.” Should he salute? Was that…appropriate? He’s still thinking about it when Shepard calls out to another human stepping off the elevator by engineering, and jogs away.
Garrus blinks. At the weapons’ bench, Alenko shakes his head and chuckles, like he’d seen whatever just happened a thousand times.
“Can I ask…what that was about? That conversation felt like…”
“A test?”
Garrus’ mandibles flare. “Yes.”
Alenko’s smile has softer edges than Shepard’s. “He’s feeling you out.”
“…Feeling me…out?”
“It’s, ah, a figure of speech. He’s pretty good at reading people, but he likes to test out his impressions with a little verbal sparring.”
“I can’t tell if I passed.”
Alenko’s chuckle becomes a laugh. “That usually means you did. He doesn’t often misread people, but when he does, you’ll know.”
“Why? What happens?”
Alenko shrugs, with an affable smile. “Someone usually get shot.”
~
“Do we have a deal?”
A cold, perilous silence falls over the warehouse, where every one of Helena Blake’s mercs stand with the kind of staged relaxation that just so happens to put their hands right by their sidearms.
You trust her? Alenko had asked during their stomach-turning Mako drop, in which Garrus is certain that Shepard waited until death was imminent before engaging the vertical thrusters to avoid smashing against the freezing cold rocks of Amaranthine. Alenko had been right about the war crimes.
No, but I think she’s a lesser evil I can live with, Shepard had replied.
He’d been so adamant this was a friendly exchange that he’d walked brazenly into the center of her band of mercs, who hadn’t hesitated to close in around them. Garrus clocks twelve of them to Shepard’s squad of four, including a sentry on the upper level. Alenko hangs close to Shepard’s left flank while Williams takes the right, leaving Garrus to bring up the rear.
Relax. We’re all friends, here.
Except as soon as Blake had started talking, Alenko’s stance had gotten a little more square, even though nothing about Shepard’s posture changed. When the silence hits, Alenko’s hand drifts marginally closer to his pistol.
“You know what?” Shepard asks thoughtfully. “On second thought, you can go fuck yourself.”
Before the ‘fuck’ is even out of his mouth, Alenko’ is in his hand and he’s knocking Shepard off his feet just in time to avoid the bullet coming from the sniper’s nest. Somehow, in the blur of running, shooting and cursing that ensues, Garrus and Alenko wind up crouched behind a shipping container while Williams lays down another round of cover fire and Shepard yanks the sniper out of the rafters with a skein of dark energy.
“So,” Garrus says, catching his breath. “I take it this was a misread?”
“Oh yeah.”
Alenko checks his heat sink before his corona engulfs him in a bloom of dark energy. He actually chuckles before he gets to his feet and re-enters the fray, like this is just another routine patrol through the Presidium.
“Welcome to the squad, Garrus.”

Drunk headcanons - boys edition
How the gang acts while drunk.
Based on canon scenes and conversations from the game. The rest is just my interpretation of their characters. I also wanted to get silly with these so forgive my indulgence if someone results OOC. That said, keep in mind some of these characters have severe addictions so their entries won’t be as lighthearted as the rest.
Tldr: I was listening to Arthur’s drunk voicelines and went down a rabbit hole. Come with me.
TW: Alcohol and general drunkness / Alcohol abuse and addiction.
Arthur
He gets LOUD. Louder than the rest. During group outings he’s the one who’s constantly shushed. He will apologize profusely for it.
He will be extra friendly towards strangers. In the same way he will flirt on accident and get incredibly bashful as a result.
A brawl?! Fun! :D
Tries to provide words of wisdom Hosea once told him twelve years ago. Loses track of what he was saying halfway. That doesn’t stop him.
Continues under the cut...
Bill
Gets angry-drunk. Actively searches for fights and provokes strangers.
Will desperately seek company and comradely but act a fool the whole time and end up alone.
Dares you to drink “If you are a real man”
Will confess very deep feelings and secrets and generally open up a lot...if only you could understand a single word he’s slurring with his face pressed against the table.
Charles
The one and only time you can see Charles Smith dance.
Sobers up when is needed. How does he go from half-asleep to fighting three guys is a mystery.
Hugging and seeking out physical contact. Always has a hand on someone’s shoulder. Whether to keep them upright or balance himself that’s not clear.
He actually doesn’t enjoy getting drunk all that much. He will pretend to be drunker than he is to match everyone’s energy.
Dutch
Sleepy drunk. He’s the guy who falls asleep in the saloon with his hat over his face.
Will not show signs until is too late. One second he’s perfectly sober doing a speech, the next he can’t string two words together.
When severely drunk he will be quieter. He gets paranoid about saying the wrong thing.
He usually has game. Now he’s trying to flirt by boasting poetry and being a smartass about it. He’s peeved when for some unfathomable reason it doesn’t work.
Hosea
Liable to wander off
If someone catches him before he can disappear he will bring them along to look at this “nice spot” he saw earlier.
He takes his drunk ramblings extremely seriously so you better listen, he’ll test you about it later.
He will let you go on and on about your problems without ever complaining. Is he listening? Probably not. He’s still thinking about that nice spot. He should take you to see it.
Javier
Tries to hide how drunk he is, but his casual walk isn’t fooling anyone. He’s stumbling a lot.
Same goes for his face. No, Javier that is not a tough look, your left eye is drooping.
His flirt game is on point, though. Either that or working girls can smell how easily he gets swayed into tipping more.
Someone asks him to play a song. He enthusiastically agrees. Proceeds to play a completely different song.
John
Gets into laughing fits that last longer than they should and drag everyone along. Often laughs at his own voice if he talks too much.
He will flirt. Badly. Likely in the back of the saloon making an absolute fool of himself. Two braincells power this man.
Either that or he’s outside, burp-talking to his horse and telling them what a good boy/girl they are.
If you buy him a drink he’ll become your best friend for the night.
Kieran
Try to threaten him, and he will laugh. Is it drunken confidence? Has he always been secretly brave? Or is it that he doesn’t get people’s tone when he’s drunk so he thinks you’re joking?
If you’re sick he’s the one coming to check you’re alright.
He gets incredibly competitive if someone challenges him. Sure, I’ll jump in the lake in January, friend.
Tends to reminisce and talk about his sad childhood. Not sure this will woo the ladies, but they do look at him with the pity reserved to a limping dog.
Lenny
Gets dragged into situations™.
In all his youthful goodwill, he will try to be the sober and responsible one. He is, in fact, neither sober nor responsible.
Likes to pull little pranks. Hides the others glass, switches bottles with empty ones, moves the chairs around.
Where did he go?! LENNY!! (he’s probably with Hosea to see that nice spot he saw ea–)
Micah
Doesn’t like to get drunk around people. If he drinks it’s either way too late at night when everyone’s asleep, or when he’s on guard duty, far away from camp.
He’ll be honest with his opinions and won’t be pleasant about it. More so than usual.
Words? What are those? Grammar? Pffff! He talks like a five years old with whiskey breath and a a sailor’s mouth.
Has the worst hangovers. Waking up in the afternoon with cotton in your ears and a vice around your head kind of hangovers. He will whine about it. Incessantly.
Pearson
When he has one too many he gets sad. If you talk to him he will cry while reminiscing about the navy.
Up until that point, though, he’s the happiest you’ve seen him in days. He will join in every song. He knows SO MANY SONGS.
First to wake up the next day. Hangovers? Never heard of’em.
“Drink some water. Have you had any water? Got water, everybody!”
Sean
Has the unofficial title of drinking games official organizer.
First in line to defend his own if anyone starts something. Someone pushed you? He’s in their face before you. Not particularly effective in fights, but has the attitude and energy of a mongoose.
Will sing. Will ask others to sing. Will insult people if they don’t sing.
Tries to keep everyone's energy up even if he’s seconds from passing out. If he’s still standing he’s not drunk enough.
Swanson
Not a happy drunk or a pleasant sight. Probably the only one nobody is happy seeing with a bottle in hand.
He drinks alone most of the times.
Gets paranoid, aggressive, and accusatory when overly drunk, so the gang rarely lets him leave camp.
He will join into song if the energies around the campfire match. He usually gets overdrunk fairly quickly though.
Trelawny
He appears out of nowhere during night outings and buys everyone a drink.
He’s a chill-drunk, not much different from how he is normally, only now he’s slurring and his choice of words is a little less polished.
Impromptu magic show. How does he get better at magic while he’s drunk?!
Mostly keeps to himself but gets overly sentimental with people if they get near.
Uncle
Not different from how he is every other day. He is always drunk.
Although he loves to taunt people he’s rarely mean about it. Unless it’s Micah.
He wants no problem and if anyone starts something that could end up with a brawl he simply walks away.
He can easily predict when anyone’s had one too many and they’re about to throw up. Won’t hold your hair back or nothing, but he will pat your on the back and call you a dumbass.

New Years Day ⋆ ★ N.Hischier

Pairings: Nico Hischier x fem!reader
Genre: fluff
Summary: just reader being completely in love with Nico, based on New Years Day by Taylor Swift.
Warnings?: Mentions of alcohol, mentions of a fight.
Word count: 701
⋆˚࿔ tina's note 𝜗𝜚˚⋆ Happy New Year! here's a little something I wrote in like 10 minutes
There's glitter on the floor after the party
Girls carrying their shoes down in the lobby
It was 4am by the time you were leaving the hotel ballroom where the Christmas party had been, Nicole, Bree and you with your heels in your hands, arms intertwined laughing about some dumb joke one of you had made while Jesper, Dougie and Nico walked behind you with their own chatter, a lot more sober and quiet than you three. Nico couldn’t help but get distracted by the way you looked, how your eyes were glossy from the alcohol but also from how much you had laughed, your hair flowing as you threw your head back in laughter and your flushed cheeks.
Candle wax and Polaroids on the hardwood floor
You and me from the night before
Walking out of your room you groaned looking at the mess you had left last night. Nico had been away for a roadie during your birthday and while you had gone out and celebrated with your friends on the actual day, Nico had prepared a night in for you two that had ended in both of you rushing into your room spilling some candle wax on your way there and leaving behind a stack of polaroid pictures from your night together.
Don't read the last page
But I stay when you're lost, and I'm scared, and you're turning away
I want your midnights
But I'll be cleaning up bottles with you on New Year's Day
The New Year’s Eve party had started out great, your friends filling your apartment, drinks flowing, good food and good music, so you weren’t sure how you’d ended the night in an empty bed while Nico slept in the guest room. You had no idea who had started the fight or how it had escalated to where it had but you knew this wasn’t how you wanted to start the new year, so after tossing and turning you finally got out of bed, the clock reading 7am, you had gone to bed just after 4. Walking out of the room wearing only your underwear and one of Nico’s hoodies you could see him picking up cups and bottles that had been left out, he looked just as tired as you and you couldn’t stand being so apart from each other so you took a few strides his way and held him from behind feeling him tense up for a second before relaxing and turning around pulling you into his chest, both of you melting right into each other, an unspoken promise to never go to bed angry at each other ever again.
You squeeze my hand three times in the back of the taxi
I can tell that it's gonna be a long road
I'll be there if you're the toast of the town, babe
Or if you strike out and you're crawling home
You knew Nico was not excited for this event, he usually didn’t mind going to fundraisers and charity events but this one was different. Tonight would be filled with investors and boring speeches, having to act like the people at the dinner were the most interesting ever even though neither of you cared, sitting in the back of the car the team had sent to pick you up you felt him squeeze your hand three times, you squeezed back letting him know you were there for him “We can always sneak out early if this is horrible” You whispered at him as you climbed out of the car, a small chuckle leaving his mouth as he buttoned his suit jacket before holding your hand again and pulling you in for a forehead kiss.
Please don't ever become a stranger (hold on to the memories, they will hold on to you)
Whose laugh I could recognize anywhere (I will hold on to you)
Even from the other side of the dark room, you could recognize his laugh making you smile, a warm feeling consuming you as you sipped on your drink and chatted with the other WAGs, you had his laugh engraved in your brain and you prayed you could keep hearing it for the rest of your life.

⇢ ˗ˏˋ the pack wedding hcs! ˎˊ˗
some things that PROBABLY(?) happened during and before the wedding!! just some silly headcanons by yours truly!
!! no credit for any of the characters, that’s all our lord and savior eriks !!
______________________><_______________________
sorry they’re so lengthy ..
angel and davey!!
Angel was TOTALLY stressed out about the planning of the wedding. They wanted things to be perfect but didn’t let themselves be too overbearing for David’s sake.
David was 100% choked up at seeing Angel in their wedding attire. He tried to keep his composure, but his watery eyes betrayed him as the inched closer.
Angel improvised their vows and didn’t stutter once. Their love for David was so unmatched they said everything from their heart. There was at least one inside joke that made David laugh through teary eyes.
At the reception, there were a few moments when Angel and David locked eyes from across the room, exchanging whole conversations in just a glance. ‘You okay?’ ‘Yeah, you?’ ‘Okay, perfect’ looks like that.
If David wore a tie, he might have Idly played with it throughout the evening. He’d fix it, straighten it, hold it all absentmindedly.
bäbe and ash!!
Asher didn’t let go of bäbe for a second. Whether it was holding their hand, wrapping an arm affectionately around their waist, it didn’t matter. They were GLUED together.
Ash absolutely teared up seeing bäbe walking down that isle. Not just a little misty eyed, he had to full on bite his lip to stop from crying.
Andd when they finally did reach him, he whispered a ‘You’re so beautiful,’ because he couldn’t help himself.
Definitely threw a “You’re literally the most beautiful person alive, I can’t believe I get to love you for the rest of my life.” in the mix of lovely words said to bäbe. (haha lovely. no? mk)
Tore UP that dance floor with bäbe and milo. and..occasionally sweetheart when they weren’t ordering people around with darlin’.

° ↳ Dear got absolutely HAMMERED with Gavin. Lasko and Huxley had to PRY them away from the shots.
° ↳ Sweetheart SOBBED to those vows I just know it. Milo saw them in the crowd and def got teary eyed.
° ↳ Freelancer held Sweethearts hand during the vows, asking the gods above why they had to be sat next to such a sap.
° ↳ Sam and Darlin’ did some of the slow dances once things calmed down since Darlin’ was making sure people weren’t actin up.
° ↳ Milo recited some of his speech with Sweetheart before like a week before the wedding. He was hella nervous as we all know
° ↳ Some beer pong action with Freelancer and some random pack members, plus Milo.
° ↳ Lasko got nervous when Milo ushered him to make a toast, and almost pissed himself.
° ↳ Dear was Angels biggest hype man. I feel like they’re close after the inversion.

Insecure

Pairing: Ruben Dias x reader
Plot: You’re different from those girls Ruben used to go out with
Author's note: English is not my first language
It was a foggy evening in London, and the city lights shimmered through the large windows of the restaurant where a charity event had just concluded. y/n walked beside Ruben, clutching his arm, the sound of her heels on the pavement echoing her muddled thoughts.
“Everything okay?” Ruben asked, noticing her distant expression.
y/n forced a smile. “Yes, everything’s fine.”
But it wasn’t fine at all. During the event, Ruben had bumped into one of his exes, Isabelle, a French model who looked like she had just stepped off the cover of Vogue. Their conversation had been cordial, even warm, and y/n had felt like a piece of furniture, invisible and insignificant next to that perfect woman. Every smile and word exchanged between them had been a reminder of how different she was from Ruben’s world.
Once outside the restaurant, Ruben ran into Bernardo Silva and a couple of other teammates, who greeted him enthusiastically.
“Ruben, as great as ever!” Bernardo said, clapping him on the shoulder. Then he noticed y/n and smiled. “And who’s this beautiful lady? You’ve outdone yourself, as always.”
Ruben laughed, pulling y/n closer. “This is y/n. And please, don’t put any strange ideas in her head.”
“Don’t worry, Ruben, I don’t need him to feel inadequate,” y/n replied with an ironic smile, trying to lighten the tension she felt inside. But Ruben turned to her, raising an eyebrow, sensing the undertone of her words.
After saying goodbye to the others, Ruben helped her into the car. “You were amazing tonight,” he said as he started the engine. “Everyone loved your speech.”
“Thank you,” y/n replied, trying to ignore the knot forming in her stomach. Once inside the car, she stared at her reflection in the window. The dress she had chosen so carefully now seemed too simple, too… insignificant.
When they got home, Ruben took off his jacket and collapsed onto the couch. “What an intense evening, huh?” he said, flashing her a tired but affectionate smile.
y/n nodded but didn’t join him. Instead, she headed to the bedroom, where she began removing her earrings in front of the mirror. She couldn’t shake the image of Isabelle from her mind: tall, elegant, with a presence that filled the room. And then there was her, a simple psychology student who felt out of place in that world of luxury and glamour.
Ruben joined her shortly after, leaning against the doorframe. “Are you okay?” he repeated, this time with a note of concern.
y/n turned to him, unsure whether to speak or not. But eventually, the words spilled out. “How can you be with me, Ruben? After everything you’ve had? After women like Isabelle?”
He stared at her, surprised. “What? Where is this coming from?”
She shook her head, feeling tears sting her eyes. “I stood next to you all evening, but I couldn’t help feeling… less. Less beautiful, less interesting, less suited for you.”
Ruben stepped closer, taking her hands and forcing her to look into his eyes. “Amor, stop it. Don’t say things like that.”
“But it’s true,” y/n insisted, pulling her hands away. “Look at Isabelle! She belongs in your world. I… I spend my days studying and doing internships. I don’t even know how to act in places like tonight.”
“You belong in my world more than anyone else,” Ruben said firmly. “Do you know why? Because you’re real. Because you’re you. Isabelle is part of the past. You are my present and my future.”
y/n looked at him, trying to believe his words. “But don’t you miss that kind of life? Those kinds of people?”
Ruben smiled and shook his head. “No. Do you know what I miss when you’re not around? The way you laugh at silly jokes. The way you get lost in your thoughts while studying. The way you make me feel at home, even when we’re on the other side of the world.”
At that moment, Ruben’s phone vibrated. It was a message in the team group chat. Bernardo had written: “Your y/n is a gem, brother. You’re a lucky man.” Ruben showed the message to y/n, who read it with a small smile. “See?” Ruben said. “It’s not just me who thinks so.”
“But I…” y/n began, but Ruben interrupted her.
“There are no ‘buts,’” he said. “You’re everything I want, y/n. I wouldn’t change a thing about you. Not a single thing.”
She lowered her gaze, torn between wanting to believe him and the voice in her head that kept whispering she wasn’t enough. “And what if one day everything changes? If I stop being enough for you?”
Ruben leaned down slightly, bringing himself to her level. “You’re already enough. You’re everything. And every time you doubt that, I’ll remind you how special you are to me.”
The tears y/n had been holding back finally fell, and Ruben pulled her into a tight embrace, as if trying to banish all her insecurities. But that night, as he slept peacefully beside her, y/n lay awake, staring at the ceiling. She loved that man with all her heart, but every day she fought against the idea of not being good enough. Perhaps, she thought, love isn’t just about accepting the other person but also learning to accept yourself.

ᯓ★ SHOTARO
You and Shotaro already knew each other before he debuted, since both of you have been dancers from a young age, and you had taken dance classes together more than once
When he debuted, you didn’t lose touch and continued talking through messages
Everyone around you knew how close you were—you even congratulated him on your Instagram stories for his debut!
Just a few months after Shotaro debuted, the company you were with decided to add you to the next group that was set to debut, and you finally debuted at the end of november as the main dancer
You and Shotaro would often meet up whenever you had the time
Since it was the end of the year, you were able to meet several times at year-end award shows and festivals, and you even had to practice together because you had a collab stage together.
Oh my god, everyone could sense the tension between you two.
You just weren’t officially anything, or rather, you had never talked about it.
After the collaboration, people started shipping you two. too much
And then screenshots of the stories from your old account surfaced, and people began to speculate whether you were a couple
Neither of the companies said anything, and you both continued acting as usual
ᯓ★ EUNSEOK
You met because you were both chosen to be MCs together on a music show.
You couldn’t help but be surprised by how handsome he was in person.
At first, both of you were quite shy, but during the rehearsals for the special stage you had to prepare, you started talking more and becoming closer.
In truth, you had a lot in common, so it was pretty easy to find things to talk about. You wouldn’t stop talking until they called you back for practice.
After a few weeks as hosts, people began to notice how good your chemistry was, and you even started joking with each other during interviews.
It was no surprise when you won the award for Best MCs of the Year.
But after a few months, the contract as hosts ended, and your last day as hosts had arrived.
You were quite sad and even started crying during your final speech.
When you returned to your dressing room, you were still crying, so Eunseok came over to try and make you laugh, saying some joke as he always did, which worked.
“You know we’re going to keep seeing each other, right?”
ᯓ★ SUNGCHAN
You had heard that Sungchan from RIIZE was tall, but when you saw him in person in the company hallway, you didn’t expect him to be THAT tall.
He had debuted recently in RIIZE, but you had already been an idol for a few years, so when he saw you, he greeted you with a slight bow.
You found him too cute to just see him in the company hallways, so one day, you asked some mutual friends to give you his number so you could talk to him.
What surprised you was that you didn’t need anyone to give it to you, as you received a message from him just before you could send one.
“Thanks for the snacks you sent us! We enjoyed them ^^!”
A few weeks later, you were already having dates inside the company, in hidden spots so people wouldn’t catch you.
But the secrecy didn’t last long, because when asked in an interview who your ideal guy was, you didn’t take a second to perfectly describe Sungchan.
“I like tall men, very tall. And ones who work out regularly. But not serious ones, they have to make me laugh and have an angelic smile.”
Although there were some rumors, no major news broke out.
Whenever you were promoting at the same time, you always visited RIIZE’s dressing room to give them gifts and cheer them on, as well as to see your boyfriend.
ᯓ★ WONBIN
oh wonbin... Among all the idols, Wonbin is famous for his looks.
And that’s exactly what you did when you saw him in person for the first time.
You had to do a challenge for your comeback together, so you met in one of the hallways of the music stations to film it.
Wonbin had a very soft voice and was very respectful, and you could tell how ambitious he was since he didn’t mind recording as many times as needed until both of you were satisfied.
You couldn’t stop sneaking glances at him whenever you could.
But you refused to ask for his phone number—it was too embarrassing.
After finishing the recording, you simply said goodbye and went back to your respective waiting rooms.
To your surprise, you bumped into him again at the cafeteria.
And what surprised you the most was that as he left, he placed a piece of paper on your table.
His number.
Oh, your face turned red, and you couldn’t help but smile.
You didn’t hesitate for a second to text him, and to your surprise, you got along quite well.
It didn’t even take a week before you arranged to meet up to learn some dances together since you both loved it.
He was the perfect dance partner!

𝑩𝒆𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆, 𝑫𝒂𝒓𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈~
˖ ࣪⭑ pairing 𖦹꒰୨୧꒱ ⁺˚ CEO!gojo x wife!reader ˖ ࣪⭑ synopsis 𖦹✦ your husband Satoru brought you to a business event, and you decide to see if he'd get jealous easily ˖ ࣪⭑ tw 𖦹♡ nsfw / mdni ♡ blindfold kink ♡ praise ♡ possessive gojo ♡ teasing ♡ oral (f!receiving) ♡ spanking ♡ dirty talk ♡ releasing inside ♡ penetration (f!recieving) ♡ aftercare ♡
The night had been painfully long. Business deals, boring speeches, handshakes with people you’d never see again. As the CEO of his high-profile company, Satoru was charming, sharp, and intelligent. You loved him and he loved you. But you wanted to test that. So you stood a little too close to the Vice President, too close for Satoru's comfort. But he tried to ignore it. Then you crossed a line when you laughed at a joke with your hand on the man's shoulder. You could feel the way his jealous gaze slid over you. He leaned in close during one of the boring speeches, his mouth brushed your ear, and he whispered just loud enough for you to hear, “I see what you're trying to do. Jokes on you, I'd do it either way. You look absolutely stunning tonight in that dress, darling. Can’t wait to see it on the floor when we get home.”
Your breath caught in your throat. You’d been married for over 3 years now, and he still knows how to turn you on with just a few words. You tried to keep your composure, but you could feel your heart rate picking up. “I have it all planned out,” he continued, that playful, teasing edge to his voice. His hand slid subtly along your waist, and you could feel the heat of his palm through your dress. “You'd like that, right?” What a tease. But he was right. You'd love that.
By the time the event ended and you were finally alone in the back of the limo, Satoru didn’t waste a second. Satoru's lips crashed into yours, hot and demanding. His kiss was slow at first, teasing, before deepening as he pulled you flush against him. His hands slid down your back, tugging you closer. You melted into him, lips parting, tongues wrestling. He pulled back just enough to whisper, his voice low and filled with intent. "Just wait until we get back, baby," he murmured, before his lips were on yours again, more urgent this time.
You walked into your penthouse, and Satoru slammed the door shut with his foot. “Now, pretty girl...not going to sleep yet, are you?” Before you could even respond, his hands were on the blindfold, lifting it over his eyes and looking down at you with his feral blue eyes. "Y’know when you lose one sense, all the others get stronger?” he tugs the blindfold snugly over your eyes as he whispers against your ear, sending shivers down your spine. “Let’s test that theory, hm?” He slipped the fabric over your eyes, tying it tight. Darkness fell instantly, and your breath hitched.
You gasped when he lifted you, and carried you across the open-plan kitchen like you weighed nothing, setting you down against the cool marble counter. “I saw the way they looked at you tonight,” he muttered, voice rough against your skin. “But they don’t get this. They don’t get you. No. You're mine. My gorgeous, amazing wife. Can't believe we're married, angel.”
His hands gripped the hem of your dress, tugging it up with no hesitation. You squirmed under his touch, heart racing as he took his time teasing, getting reactions like this from you like it was a game he never lost. “No panties, hm?”
He continued, his tone dropping lower. “Say it. Say who you belong to.” You whispered his name, breathless. “Louder,” he growled, palm sliding up your side.
“…You.”
His hand trailed lower, gripping your thigh just enough to make you gasp before he pulled you flush against him. “No, no, baby,” he muttered darkly, voice dripping with heat, “you know what I wanna hear.”
You hesitated, lips parted, chest heaving. Then—smack—his palm met the curve of your ass, sharp and fast, making you jolt with a yelp that turned into a moan. “Try again.”
“'Toru—” you breathed out. Another slap, this time harder. “Wrong one.”
“Satoru—!” you gasped, nearly collapsing against him from the mix of sting and pleasure burning through your skin. “Mmm, that’s better,” he purred. “I'm gonna flip you over and make you scream it. You’ve been acting like a spoiled little thing all night,” he said, lips brushing the shell of your ear. “Clinging to his arm...that tight little dress...what were you trying to do, hm?”
Another slap, this time delivered on your pussy. You whined, hips twitching under his grip. And then his mouth was on you. Hot, slow, and maddening. He dragged it down your body, each kiss making your knees buckle a little more. You couldn’t see him, but you could feel every flick of his tongue, every teasing pause that made your stomach twist in pleasure.
You feel him moving forward, and his grip on your legs tightens. Then suddenly, his breath is hot against your sensitive skin, and you can't help but shiver. His lips brush against your heat, teasing with just the barest lightest kisses. You wrap your fingers in his hair, occasionally stroking his undercut, wanting more. His tongue laps at your folds, gathering all your juices and teasing your slit. "So wet for me, huh?" he mumbles and flicks your clit, your back arching, "Use your words, princess. What did you want?"
“I need you…”
After that, you felt…nothing? But you heard everything.
There was a subtle shift of weight as he stood as he let out a low sigh. Then, the soft rustle of fabric, slow and deliberate. You could even picture it. His dark tuxedo jacket sliding down those broad shoulders, followed by the clink of cufflinks being placed on the counter. A beat of silence. Then the gentle sound of buttons, one by one, undone with a quiet precision that made your breath catch. “Is that theory working?” You heard the soft scrape of leather sliding through loops, followed by the click of his belt buckle coming undone. The sound alone made your thighs tense. He chuckled under his breath. “That got your attention, huh?”
The slow zip of his pants followed, deliberate and unhurried, like he knew you were hanging on every sound. You could practically feel the heat of his gaze, even through the blindfold. “You’re so worked up already, and I haven’t even started.”
He went back to his attack on your clit, swirling his tongue around it in circles, sucking at it. “You want me in you? Yeah? Well, that’s what you’ll get, my beautiful girl deserves it, doesn’t she?”
He pulled away and carries you to the couch dropping you on it. He spreads your legs wide open and blows at your heat. “Want me to stuff you full? What my princess wants, she gets.”
He brought his cock up to your slit, sliding it up and down, spreading his pre-cum and making you shiver in pleasure. He slowly bullies his cock in, making you gasp and moan out. “God, yes, let me hear those slutty moans!” He grunts as he finally bottoms out. “So fucking tight! Take it…take it all!” With that said, he started thrusting into your tightness, relentless with each push.
“F-fuck! You feel so good! So good f’me…” he growls as he hits your g-spot, making your back arch. “A-ah!~ R-right there!” You babble out, your dripping cunt slurping in his cock, not willing to let go. “C-cum inside! P-please, ‘toru!” You moan out and claw at the air, trying to grab onto something— anything. You feel him take your hand and squeeze it. “My shoulder’s up here.” He chuckles, guiding your hand to his back, littered with scratches from previous nights. “I’m so c-close, f-fuck~ agh!” He groans, “Can I cum inside, Princess?” He questions, to which you nod.
“F-fill me up, do-don’t hold back, I can take it!” Your lewd moans bounced off the penthouse walls, echoing like music he never wanted to stop hearing. “Y’so pretty f’me.” You felt him twitch deep inside, and then his sudden, overwhelming release spilled into you. Thick, hot, and relentless, filling you up from the inside. His grip tightened on your waist as he buried himself deeper, holding still while his release pulsed inside you, making you whimper sweetly. You both stayed like that, bodies trembling, breathing heavy. "So pretty. You okay, Princess?” he whispers to you, as he presses a kiss to your shoulder. He slowly pushed the blindfold up from your eyes, and when your vision cleared, his bright blue eyes were already locked on you, gleaming like ice. He looked so...innocent? Not even close. He looked up at you like a man starved, like he’d do it all over again just to watch you fall apart.
You nodded, and he chuckled, already scooping you up bridal-style. “Shower, then cuddles,” he said with a wink. In the bathroom, his hands were nothing but gentle, washing your hair, kissing your forehead, “Did so good for me. Did I do good too?” he looked up at you with the sweetest eyes ever, as if he didn't just ruin you. “You always are,” you murmur, your voice low and affectionate. Once you were warm, clean, and in one of his t-shirts, he pulled you into bed and wrapped his arms tight around you, letting your head rest over his heartbeat.
“Glad you married me?” he whispered into your hair, catching a whiff of your expensive shampoo, the familiar scent making him smile. “I’m the luckiest man alive. Night, Princess.”

okay, i’ve been obsessing over your komaeda translations and i must know… given the unsure way he talks in the japanese (lots of filler words), does his dialogue change much after he learns the truth? late ch4, i mean. when he starts being condescending to everyone. i’m also very curious about his big speech about wanting to be called the ultimate hope
Hello, anon! Thank you for the message and interesting question! And thank you for the patience!
So, there's three questions here if I'm understanding:
Does Komaeda's speech pattern (sounding softer and using filler words, or generally downplaying his words) change later into ch.4?
When Komaeda starts rambling about hope, does he speak more clearly and more confidently?
What is the nuance in Komaeda's "hope" speech on the laptop?
I will answer all 3 in this order.
(Also, for anybody confused.... here's my post talking about how Komaeda uses filler words, and here's my post talking about how Komaeda's speech was deliberately changed during the earlier beta to make him sound less confident in himself.)
So, question number one:
1. Does Komaeda talk more rudely, use less filler words, or talk more assuredly in ch.4?
Hmm...I don't think so. He still uses honorifics for everyone (-san for girls and -kun for boys), he still uses sa and ne to the same amount, and he does not seem to devote any sort of rude speech for the most part. It is only his words that change, and not the way he speaks them.
My memory is horrifically bad, so please keep that in mind...I asked my friend @kaiokentimesten for help, and was provided with a good number of lines he remembered from ch.4/5 of Komaeda saying rude things, and I looked them up in the Japanese version. All lines were said in his usual speech formations, so there was no change. Again, the words he spoke just happened to be ruder, but they were said in the same tone.
I will show an example.
KOMAEDA: おっと、安易にハムスターを例に出すと、 脱落した彼に怒られちゃうかな? KOMAEDA: Oops. How clumsy of me to use hamsters as an example. Do you think that loser* would've gotten mad at me if he were still here?
*Komaeda does say "dropout" and it's used for people who have been eliminated in a game, or failed a test/exam/otherwise didn't "make the cut". I just think "loser" works better as a translation.
Nothing changes about Komaeda's speech here, he talks the same as he always does. He's just saying meaner words.
(I don't know where the translators got "weakling" from...that's nowhere in the text.)
The only exception I can think of is the beginning of Trial 4. Souda remarks they talk about the murder weapon, and Komaeda three times goes, "Ha?"
It's a funny scene, but significant because, as far as I know, this is the only time Komaeda uses this word.
(I could be wrong, but I'm totally coming up empty right now...please correct me if I am!)
は ha, is very rude. It means "What?" or "Huh?" but is a very rude way to say it. People like Kuzuryuu and Oowada love using it, and Hinata uses it a fair amount, although even Hinata - who's whole design philosophy, as pointed out by the SDR2 artbook, is to be more masculine and ruder than Naegi was - uses え e more often.
え e, うん un, ん nn, あれ are, are more casual but non-rude ways to say "What?"
Komaeda always used one of those first four from what I can remember, or simply 何 nani, which is probably the most neutral way to say "What?"
So to see Komaeda use this is surprising.
This is different than ははは, はっ, or あはは which are normal laughing sounds.
Oh, before we move out of Chapter 4, here's a mistranslation I want to point out (or, less mistranslation, more very direct translation where the joke is lost in English).
KOMAEDA: じゃあ、始めようか。シンキングターイム...ってヤツだね。
Komaeda isn't a stranger to randomly injecting English words into his speech - a quirk that I feel is used to show he's a bookworm/otherwise intelligent (that's just my thought) - and in those instances, instead of translating directly (because using English in English loses the nuance that using English in Japanese does) I would replace it with bigger, more obscure English words.
But this is actually not one of those times.
Another thing Komaeda is no stranger to is making random pop culture references. He does it more than you would think for a character like him.
While "Thinking Time" isn't a reference to any specific Japanese media per se, it's Japanese game show lingo.
For example, a tough question is given to the contestants, and they have 30 seconds to think of the answer before being forced to give one. These 30 seconds are called "Thinking Time".
I don't know the English equivalent. I know there's a countdown timer in stuff like Jeopardy and Minute to Win It, but I don't think they say anything. Sometimes it's "You have [x] seconds, good luck!" Or "and...start!" or suchlike.
I guess in that case, this line is better localized as:
KOMAEDA: Let's start! You have 30 seconds on the clock...good luck!
(I chose 30 seconds because that's how long the "Make your Selection" part lasts maximum).
2. When ranting about hope, does Komaeda speak more clearly, more confidently?
Yes!
In scenes like post- Chapter 1 trial, where Komaeda monologues to the audience for a few minutes before being knocked out - where he is rambling on and on - his speech is noticeably smoother with less pauses or filler injections. I would also venture to say the way he speaks makes it sound like he is stating facts, that he is very confident in his assertions.
3. Komaeda's Hope Speech on the laptop
Firstly, I want to point somethings out...unrelated to the hope speech itself, but just fun to note.
The garbled, loud noise you hear sometimes where Komaeda is speaking is not gibberish (listen here, volume warning). For whatever reason, the English version did not have Bryce Papenbrook record lines for this, and still uses the Japanese version.
It doesn't reveal any new information, sadly. And I can't make out the second one...but it's highly likely in that line I linked that Komaeda is saying 希望は絶望なんかに負けないんだ or "Hope will never lose to despair."
When it comes to the scrambled text...I've never been much of a decoder, but I can point some stuff out.
For one, I'm 99% sure the Japanese team probably provided the translators with the full, unscrambled text so they could better translate it.
That said, it's not impossible to figure this out.
<まじむかつく+超Yさしい2こんなにEEものg102$うRしs~=~+いdsねうれOrz』
まじむかつく is a term that means "extremely irritated" hence "seriously pissing me off".
The + is the same in both version, I assume it means "and".
The next part needs a little explaining. In Japanese, all consonants (for the most part) are followed by a vowel. on a Japanese keyboard, if you do not finish typing the character, only the consonant shows up.
for example, な is "na". but if you only type the n and don't follow with the a, you get n.
There's a lot of Japanese slang based off this. To type ん you have to type "n" twice. so, a slang form of konnichiwa (こんにちは) is shortened to こん, konn. But it got shortened even further to こn.
so, 超Yさしい requires a bit of guesswork, as there are several sounds that start with "y", like ゆ yu, よ yo, や ya. the さしい at the end tells us it's an adjective.
超 in this case means "very", like "very expensive" or "very awesome".
Likely, Yさしい is やさしい, which is either "kind" or "easy".
This makes 超Yさしい either "extremely kind/nice" or "extremely simply/easy".
Official translators wrote it as "hella nice", aka "very kind".
Beyond that I start to get bad at this xD I don't know where they get "I can't believe something odd like this is only $102".
The 2 may be に, as 2 in Japanese is pronounced に(ni), and に is a particle.
I think the EE Is to be read like いい (ii) in Japanese. And the g might be が (ga)?
超やさしいにこんなにいいものが102$
こんなにいいもの would be "Such nice stuff" or "Really good stuff".
が at the end could be "But..." or "However..." but if the 102$ is connected somehow, then it may be an object particle.
Maybe it's "Really good stuff gotten easy for $102"
But that isn't fully true to the official English version, so maybe they were provided with more clear words to translate from. Like I said, I'm no good at codes.
The last part is easy though. うRし follows the same rule as before. うれし Ur(e)shi(i), which means "happy". I don't know what the "s" is, since it seems the sentence picks back up at いdsね, as うれしい is the full word. "d s" is probably d(e)s(u) with the ne particle at the end. うれしいですね, which means "I'm happy!"
And I'm guessing Orz is the emoticon.
Okay, sorry for rambling. When it comes to the actual speech, there is something interesting to note, albiet small.
The English version is correct in its translation, and the only thing I have to offer is the nuance behind how Komaeda makes his requests.
He says stuff like, "Respect me" "Praise me" "Build a bronze statue of me" and such. And he requests all of these by saying ~てくれ ~tekure.
I don't think Komaeda ever uses this outside of this speech. てくれ can be seen as rather rude. Though the formation looks like an imperative (very rude), it is not, since at it's core, てくれ means you are asking someone to do something for you, not ordering them. It is still the rudest way you can "request" something though.
It's not as severe as Komaeda yelling 黙れよ (damare yo) in 2.5, but it's close behind.
It does show he is being very callous and assertive in this scene, truly a 180 from him being casual but still respectful. This sort of demanding request tone coming from Komaeda is surprising, I feel.
Otherwise...there isn't really any nuance to add, I'm afraid. The speech is rather straight forward and the English version translates it well.
I hope this answers your questions!
