The 24 Character Strengths are awesome references when writing characters!!

I've found this website to be extremely helpful and cool while fleshing out my characters' personalities and motivations.

Even if I only have basic personality traits for a character, exploring strengths that I feel fits them and reading their descriptions is fantastic for inspiration!! It really helps narrow down the basic ideals I imagine a character would believe in, and then I can get more specific from there. It's a great guide to springboard off of!

Each strength is sorted into one of six virtues. Starting with a broad virtue, for example "justice," and honing that down into the strengths of "fairness," "leadership," or "teamwork" makes writing them really fun!

Here's an example of the "fairness" strength description! Lots of detail and tangible qualities describing it!

Of course there are infinite ways to interpret a character strength, just like in real life. And people aren't always black and white and follow a strength 100% of the time. But it's been extremely helpful to see specific traits being described in so much detail, and imagining different scenarios that a character would react in. It's like I can understand them a bit more and think a little like them, especially if their trait isn't one of my personal strengths. :3

But I also recommend taking the actual personality test for yourself! I took it years ago and it was really cool to put a name to some of my strengths and see how detailed this descriptions were. And when my friends and I shared our results, I felt like we understood each other just a little more. :)

i see posts go around very confidently stating that everyone who has multiple pronouns listed in their bios wants everyone who interacts with them to use ALL those pronouns for them, constantly rotating them in and out like you're changing the wheels during a nascar race, and I gotta say: as a multi-pronoun person myself, I actually prefer if you pick one and stick with it during singular interaction. that's what I, personally, would expect and feel is most authentic to me and what I mean about having multiple pronouns that I'm okay with having used for me: to me it's about vibes, so grab the vibe you're feeling for me from the list and use it!

(( aw, seeing people talk about their introductions to ff7 and their feelings on it is sweet, I think, and there's no such thing as a true or false fan. Whether crisis core is your fave, og, remake or before crisis for all u mobile gamers (and dirge ofc for all you FPS fans) - it's totally fine to not play / see all of one medium and still love it. ❤️

I grew up with the og being a huge part of my life, from both a nostalgic view and general favourite games kinda view, it's something I love for many reasons but like all of the series' games, it isn't without critique and that's fine. For me, I don't judge whether someone's played og, remake, BC, cc, doc, watched ac, read every book and been personally to the creators brains to munch on their lore - the main thing is that we all love ffvii and enjoy it's world building.

That's sweet and what's sweeter is seeing talented rpers take the characters and give them so much love and additional nuance, as well as add their own characters to the universe. It's cool and awesome and everyone should be welcome and be having fun with it,

Spoilers abound for Monark, so if you plan on playing it blind at some point, feel free to skip past this post! As a disclaimer, bolded terms/names will have their own glossary at the end of this post, so people will know what they actually mean even with no prior knowledge of Monark.

Honestly, this is by no means canon, but I like to think that a side effect from being the Pactbearer of Greed is that you can’t exactly die from old age anymore, so those who were previously bound to Avaritia (the Monark of Greed) either die from grievous injuries, poison, or suicide... so in a way, Kakeru is pretty much immortal, as long as someone doesn’t stab him or he himself doesn’t take extreme measures to end his own life.

Still, him choosing to commit suicide is hardly likely, so if anything, he’s far likelier to die from being murdered than, say... overdosing on pills. Due to this, it’s very possible that had Yoru not severely injured him or his Ideals weren’t shattered, Kakeru could live long past the age of 100 years old.

Naturally, he can still physically age, but because he’s granted the ability to rewind time and teleport anywhere he pleases as the Pactbearer of Greed, he could theoretically alter his appearance too by using his Authority on himself, especially since it’s canonically established he could easily manipulate time and space itself to heal any injury he gets by making it so it never happened to begin with. Kakeru just chooses not to make himself look younger because he thinks he’s already handsome the way he is.

Modern verse wise, though, I made it so he never ended up forging a Pact with Avaritia... meaning there is no angst-y plot elements to his story and he never gets to experience multiple time loops/timelines like how he did in Monark.

GLOSSARY.

Monark: Ruler class entity among the Daemons who are responsible for the spawning of lower ranked Daemons called Nobles and Legion. They are drawn to strong Egos and wishes, forming pacts with humans and granting them special abilities called Authorities. The Monarks are associated with the seven sins or desires.

Avaritia: Daemon of Greed who canonically takes on this form and this form. Those who make a pact with them end up getting Chronokinesis, the ability to manipulate space and time.

Authority: Powers that go against the laws of the universe. Only Daemons, residents of the Otherworld, and Pactbearers are capable of wielding them. Because these powers adhere to the laws of the Otherworld, their usage creates distortions in the world, giving rise to distortions such as Mist.

Ideals: Manifestation of a pact between a Daemon and a human. They appear as physical crystals within the Otherworld. There are three Ideals formed for each pact. The areas of the Otherworld containing these pacts can be accessed from areas of the Mist receiving a call from that part of the Otherworld. These spots in the Mist can be identified by a messy stack of smartphones in the vicinity of where the calls are received. Ideals are usually left defended by Daemons.
