honestly just in general it's very exhausting to try to analyze media that is literally meant to be analyzed, only for the replies to be filled with people arguing not against your analysis, but against the premise that the media can be analyzed at all.

i don't even know what to say about it without starting to really betray my frustration, so i'll just settle with— just don't engage with analysis posts? I'm serious. if you're typing a response to a media analysis post, reread what you've written and ask yourself "is this comment/response against the very concept of analyzing the media at all?" and if the answer is yes then delete it all and go sit in the shame corner. throw your curtains away if you want to so bad and stop telling me that I'm not allowed to hum and haw at the fact mine are blue

How do you reconcile your dismissal of the 4B movement for its homophobia and transphobia with criticisms of homonationalism (the chauvinistic condemnation of liberation movements in the Global South because they do not align with Western left values on gay and trans people)?

Should homonationalism only be avoided for national liberation movements specifically? Or is there something about women’s movement in the RoK that makes it more acceptable for USAmericans (who continue military occupation of the RoK) to dictate the terms and methods of their struggle?

i can't stop thinking about Price being a regular at the place where you bartend. he always sits at the bar, but at the far end away from everyone else so that when you go to take his order, you're forced into this little, private bubble with him. he's just this big, looming presence in the room, elbows resting on the bar and making him look even wider, nursing a beer while flirting with you whenever you come by to check on him. probably way overtips too, to the point where you almost feel like you owe him because his tips alone pay your rent.
