hi yes it's Agent Walker and Agent Smith yet again..!! continuation to this post. i cant come up with anything new LOL

Aaand before i make myself think i mischaracterised my fav characters again, i'll point out that Agent Smith doesn't really do Agent Walker's paperwork all by himself. He actually gives most of it to his department's employees. Why is he like this.

...another thing i forgot to point out in the last post prequeling this one, Agent Walker's videogames got confiscated and won't be returned until he finishes his current paperwork!! (They found out he was making his employees do his paperwork. like Agent Smith over here...)

I'm genuinely curious about what the show will do with Ed and Edna, especially after Doc Wyatt said this.

The show never really explained what happened to the ninja's parents after the Merge, so who knows—maybe they're fine. But knowing that Ed and Edna will at least have some role in Jay's appearance later in the show makes you wonder,

Isn't it fun how everyone saw what terrified them most, but Nya's was so "unbelievable" that she broke out instantly? She was shown the one thing that was supposed to terrify her, make her spiral. But of course it wasn't real. It's Jay. If there's one thing she never once doubted, its that Jay is absolutely smitten, so of course he'd never forget her. What a silly thing to think, to be afraid of. She went through so damn much for this boy, and him for her, and we know how she is. Wouldn't it be petrifying if all that work, all that emotional turmoil, that clawing for love, could be forgotten just like that? Its quite a feat, really, that she can finally be confident in knowing such a fear is irrational.

It was easy to break free from such a place. It was only ever meant to scare her, and she has nothing to be afraid of. Right?

I've had the urge to do something for the Ninjago Movie, specifically a crossover with the show. Since I drew them in comparison to one another twice before I wanted to do it again before I even start writing anything. I posted something about it here.

And because I wanted to, movie designs for Pixal, Echo and Morro. Here some ideas:

Morro is Lloyds older cousin and just left to go to college. He used to train the ninja from time to time being one himself. Before the SNF took over he and Wu handled Garmadon a lot. And because I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t add Sandstorm. Morro and Cole are pinning. He has trained the SNF a few times when Wu was away. He also punched a lot of Lloyds bullies growing up.

Pixal is a normal student at Ninjago High. She’s still a Nindroid but juts blends in. Much like Pixal in the Show she isn’t a part of the team yet. Eventually she becomes the movies first and only Samurai X. Before the events of the movie happen, Pixal is one of the few students not bullying the ninja. She isn't really their friend but she treats them like every other person. She only gets really involved after the movie when she has a project with Nya and she slowly joins their group.

Echo is the second nindroid Dr Julien built, like in canon, but he also intended to be much younger. He’s a normal kid and won’t go through the trauma of being abandoned and turned into Mr E like in the show. Also, less biker vibes when he get older. He's a happy and very energetic child. He loves his big brother a lot.

And a little fun fact/headcanon you may have noticed. The show ninja all wear different shoes while the movie cast has the same ones. Up until season 7 the show ninja also wore the same ones per Wus request and him getting them the gear. In the timeskip between season 7 and 8, they get their own shoes. Ones they feel most comfortable in. Once Wu is back to normal he doesn’t force them to wear the same shoes. They are good enough ninja not to decide on their own. Event he movie ninja are older, they’ll also begin to wear different shoes.

Im still not over how Jay has been gone from the main cast for so long. Like for a character who's often associated with worries about not belonging and people not missing him and stuff like that, it's interesting to see what actually happened in his absence specifically.

And I'm aware that Jay isn't the only thing factoring into this at all lmao, but I think him being gone is part of the reason everything feels a bit more dire right now, especially in the new trailer. He's pretty much the only character to dedicate themselves to levity in any given moment. We have a lot of character who are lighthearted when it counts (literally everybody tbh) or characters who are generally positive (Frohicky, Zane, Arin until recently) but Jay's jokes are a part of his personality you know?

And I wish the show would do more with this. The idea of what happens when the glue/comic relief/part of the emotional core of a group is gone when the rest are there. It kinda makes things fall apart which they most definitely are right now.

an odd sort of numbness from knowing all too well this is exactly what theyve signed up for, a feeling hollow and cold but also eerly calm, worry, restlessness bubbling beneath everything

but the need duty to keep moving, keep fighting, you still have a world to protect (no time to fall apart, use the pressure to keep yourself together)

Whenever I pick up a Lloyd LEGO set and see a blue figure included I like to try and ignore it and play a game of "is it gonna be Jay or Nya?" and not find out until I get to build it

Hello! Thank you for the ask!

I love the new characters. Arin, Sora, and Wyldefire all hold a special place in my heart (and Frohicky and the Finders). They're all interesting and have diverse characteristics!

Arin is interesting. He comes from a challenged childhood due to the merge, with no distinct certainty about his parents. He taught himself Spinjitzu and struggles to use his elemental ability- even though he knows he has one. It's fascinating to see the man v/s man and the man v/s self conflicts in Ninjago. While being a playful character, it also shows that Erin is clumsy and often doubts himself and his capabilities, but Lloyd certainly sees the best in him. And I know we'll see growth from Arin.

Sora also came from a challenged childhood where her parents couldn't accept who she was- and one of the first major looks at new elements. Technology is her expertise, on top of her element, and it suits her character amazingly. She is confident, but struggles, too, with man v/s self-conflict. She can doubt herself and grow overwhelmed, but she started improving in recent episodes, finding ways to remain confident in her work.

Wyldefire is fascinating. A hot-headed girl with a will to fight. She is clearly very confident in herself but has a soft side (kinda like early season Kai. And before I'm asked: no, I don't believe the Kai/Skylor theory.) She is shown to care a lot, and have a big heart- especially for dragons, she was raised by them (and with the merge, I almost suspected she came from the Realm of Dragons and Onis). She is also shown to grow very close to her mentor, Kai.

Frohicky- oh I love him. He's a sweetheart who cares a lot about the people around him- and tidiness. I know we haven't gotten much on him yet, but I would like some more past on him!

The finders- their little family- oh, I adore it. And the Cole/Geo ship (is it Geode or Lostshipping?) is amazing. I hope it becomes canon. There is so much chemistry between Geo and Cole, and I remember screeching when I first watched their interactions. They mean the world to me.

Otherwise, I think Dragon Rising has been amazing. I enjoy the original ninja being there, relevant to the plot, but also a peek into who they will be mentoring.
