“once smitten”
frontman!in-ho x you
what if in-ho falls for gi-hun’s sister in the games?
˚˖𓍢ִ໋🦢˚ ˚˖𓍢ִ໋🦢˚ ˚˖𓍢ִ໋🦢˚ ༊· ˚˖𓍢ִ໋🦢˚ ˚˖𓍢ִ໋🦢˚ ˚˖𓍢ִ໋🦢˚
“excuse me, i-” in-ho tried to introduce himself.
“ah, you’re so stupid! how could you take an invitation from a stranger?!” gi-hun scolded you as you stood like a little kid before him, head down with your hands behind your back.
“oh, yes, how can we help you?” jung-bae chuckled awkwardly, turning to face in-ho.
“i was just wondering if i could join your team, i saw that-”
“you’re saying that to me?! you came voluntarily too, again!” you shouted back at your brother, cutting in-ho off again as the team tried to de-escalate the situation.
“give me one moment.” jung-bae excused him, pulling you aside, away from gi-hun to calm down.
“i’m sorry.” apologised gi-hun as he turned his attention towards in-ho, looking him up and down once. “i’m gi-hun, that’s my sister y/n.” he said, pointing to you as you slumped onto the ground.
“ah, i must have caught you guys at a bad time.” in-ho sniggered, rubbing the back of his neck nervously.
“no, no. everything’s fine here, you’re welcomed to join us.”
in-ho gave him a grateful smile, walking towards you, brushing skimmed past gi-hun.
“hi, you’re y/n? i’m assuming?”
you nodded, “you had to ask my brother for permission to join?” you jokingly said.
in-ho took a seat on the floor beside you. “what happened? if you don’t mind me asking.”
“gi-hun didn’t come home for a year after his first game. went on like a lunatic about it when he did come home. then, he was gone, next thing i knew i was ‘happily reunited’ with him again here.”
of course in-ho had already knew all that, but it was part of his ruse to get closer to gi-hun.
“but whatever, it doesn’t matter anyway. i can take care of myself, i don’t need him.” you scoffed, arms crossed.
in-ho couldn’t help but grin at the sight, you were sulking in a corner with him, about the one thing that was possibly the least dangerous in the whole game.
“well, looks like i’m gonna be here for a while so, you know where to find me if you need me.” in-ho said, nudging your arm.
you giggled. “thanks, i didn’t catch your name.”
“young-il.”
“young-il…” you tried it on your lips, it sounded right.
“i’ll see you around.” he winked before he got up, walking off to join the rest of the team.
after that interaction, you couldn’t seem to get him off your mind. somehow, someway, it always went back to in-ho. when you and him were apart, you keeping away from gi-hun, you would sneak glances at him. sometimes, he would even already be staring, making you a blushing mess as you tried to cover it up by looking elsewhere.
after the second game of ‘six-legged pentathlon’, you were sat on your bed with the team surrounding you, all eating the food they had given you.
at that point, gi-hun was fuming. you couldn’t deny that you haven’t been pissing him off but who was he to say anything? afterall, he was the one that abandoned you for this stupid game.
“y/n, finish your food.” gi-hun told you sternly when you left the remainders aside.
“i’m not hungry.” you said monotonously, not meeting his eyes.
“you’re not going to have energy to play the next game if you don’t.” he scolded, raising his voice.
“who cares?”
“y/n. finish it now.”
“or what? you’re gonna disappear again? are you gonna leave me again?” you retaliated, sneering when he didn’t reply.
suddenly, he shot up, grabbing you by the collad as he slammed you into the wall. you screamed, but was silenced when your head came into contact with the rough surface.
“enough, gi-hun!” you heared in-ho yell, “put her down!”
then, you were being dropped to the ground. in-ho ran towards you, grabbing a hold of you before you could fall.
“are you okay?” he asked, brushing your hair aside to see your face.
but you couldn’t reply. you could only look at the ground, tears hitting the floor underneath you.
in-ho couldn’t be assed about anything else at that moment, he gently escorted you to the exit which was heavily guarded. without a word, the guards opened the door, letting you and him both leave without question. maybe if he was in the right mind, he would have been more careful about blowing his cover, but luckily for you, he wasn’t.
in-ho walked you to the bathroom, effortlessly lifting you onto the sink. he took a moment looking at your pitiful form, he felt his heart break.
“can you look at me?” he whispered, waiting for permission before he lifting your chin with his fingers. “let me see your pretty face.”
as you locked eyes with him, you could feel the embarrassment bubbling in your stomach. you were so weak, so vulnerable now before him. “young-il…” you managed to choke out.
he didn’t need anything else, he knew exactly what you needed at that moment, leaning forward to pull you into his embrace. the second you had your head on his shoulder, you sobbed. no one, not even you, knew if he was because you were scared, or angry, or hurt, but he was everything you could feel at that moment and nothing else mattered.
a few minutes passed, when you eventually calmed down and pulled away, you let out a laugh. in-ho was confused, did he do something wrong?
“thank you, young-il.” you smiled sadly at the man before you.
internally, he let out a sigh of relief. “are you feeling better?”
you nodded. you lifted your hand, touching the back of your head, causing you to wince in pain. “shit.” you cursed under your breath as you looked at your hand, a small trace on blood left on it.
“c’mere.” in-ho instructed, inspecting your wound. “it’s okay, i think it’s just a graze.”
he helped you clean your wound, taking care of you like you were his own treasured item, each movement acted out with upmost care.
“he’s not always like that.” you broke the silence as he hummed. “i don’t know what this place has turned him into.”
but in-ho didn’t care, you had just given him another reason to carry out his plan against gi-hun.
when the two of you headed back to the room, gi-hun ran to you.
“i think you should leave her alone from now on.” in-ho stepped in when he got too close for his liking.
“but y/n-”
“fuck off.” maybe it was a little more than personal now, but either way, he didn’t like the idea of gi-hun coming close to you again.
that night, you slept with in-ho by your side, you cuddled up to his side as he sat still on the bed, careful not to move. in-ho didn’t sleep for the whole night, he was too busy admiring your sleeping form and savouring the feeling of you cuddled up next to him. it made him wonder if this could be what it could be like outside the games.
maybe the you and him would have an apartment, maybe even a dog. it would be the epitome of a perfect life. everynight after work he would come home to you, being welcomed by your hugs and kisses. he smiled hard even just from the thought of it.
much often, when his thoughts had gotten the better of him, he would place a kiss on your forehead or draw cute little patterns on your arm.
y/n, y/n, y/n, what were you doing to him?

IT'S NOT A COINCIDENCE THAT JUNG-BAE IS IN THE GAMES. At first that was my one reservation about Season 2's setup, because, come on, you really expect me to believe that out of all the people in Korea, three guys from the same little village are getting selected? And Gi-hun's friends get selected both times he plays, despite it being years later? It seemed a little contrived.
But then the director stated that in his view, the recruiters had actually first selected Sang-woo, because he had a lot of debt. They then looked at his friends, and selected Gi-hun--not primarily because of his debt, although that was necessary, but because of his close connection to Sang-woo. They deliberately sought to pit people with close, existing relationships up against each other.
Knowing that the entirety of the games in this season are centered around and designed for Gi-hun (even down to the recruitment phone number being 456-010), it makes perfect sense that this is the year Jung-bae gets recruited.
Because Gi-hun would have to watch him die.
#squid game#squid game 2#seong gi hun#park jung bae#meta#if gi-hun ever learns that they only brought jung-bae because of him...#he has already been destroyed by leading jung-bae to his death‚ just as jung-bae had followed him into poverty years before with the strike#but jung-bae was only put into this position‚ was only endangered in the first place‚ because of his friendship with gi-hun#that's only going to destroy and isolate him further. because now connection to anyone is inherently dangerous for them#wait this just gave me a mind-breaking theory about in-ho. wait.#gonna type that up soon. holy frick.#kay has a party in the tags#my meta posts#kay can i just catch my breath for a second#that also lines up with the husband and wife being selected in season 1#and yeong-sik and his mom both getting selected in season 2#AND FRICK EVEN THE GUARD AND NA-YEONG'S DAD HOLY FRICK#and the bitcoin guy and his ex#it's everywhere!! geez louise#and of course...frontman and gi-hun as well...!!

One hell of a team | In-ho x Wife!Reader |
Summary: You will follow your husband anywhere.
Warnings: S2 Spoilers - Violence - Different back story for In-ho - Blood - Death - Use of (Y/N) - Reader gets called "love" -
The Frontman, the man with the most power within the island, to who the guards obey without question.
Was currently trembling under his wife poited look.
"You want to enter the games?" You asked him, your tone cold and almost jugdmental.
In-ho calmed himself down. It was an idea that stayed with him after the death of the Chairman and even mor with how player 456 had insisted the last two years in finding them. He had played before and won, he knew how terrible others could be, he had walked out like a new man, used the money for himself and you. Never really gave much thoguht on how life were lost.
But, for some reason he wanted to go again.
"Im going with you"
His glass of wishky fell onto the floor, the loud crash did nothing to bother you while you ate.
"No, thats not happening. I need you here to control the games and guards" In-ho started trying to get a valid reason to why you defenetly should not come.
"Oh, you need me to? Well I need you here. With me. With our family. How do you think I would do seeing you there ? I still remember how you got when you came back from these the first time"
"That was different" The Frontman said taking a deep breath "I wont be just one more player, it will be like when the Chairman went in"
"That still does not ease my mind" (Y/N) responded "Till death do us a part and follow you anywhere" you recited showing him your weeding ring. "Remember?"
In-ho felt his chest got thight at the sight and the memory of the small yet full of love weeding you two had back when life was more simple.
"Alright, you can come with me. Its not like you would wait for my approval" he responded smiling at the end "But no one must know that we are married, you understand that ?" He added now serious
"Of course, its what makes more sense, we will just casually meet there and see how it plays" You nodded to him "And please, better clean up that glass before someone steps on it"
"On it, love"
~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~
For the most part pretending not to know each other was easier than expected. While you knew the guards knew who you two were you were still a bit scared. Specially during the green and red light, since both of you had got separated and now you were froze in your spot.
"You need to move" In-ho said from behind his arm playing along "Follow me in the next sing, alright? Just take my hand"
"Im scared, im sorry" You said feeling guilty over wanting to be there with him and starting to fail on the first game no less.
"I know, I was too. But im here, just follow me"
~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~
You had to hide your smirk when he pressed the circle to go on with the games, you knew he would do it just to piss off Player 456 and make things more cahotic.
He went with the rest and stood besides you trying himself not to smile at you.
~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆
The first approach to Gi-huns team was tense to say the least. You two had voted circle and even worse In-ho had been the vote that ended the tie.
But with his own charisma and yours you two got to be on his good side.
Till In-ho decided to talk, really you sometimes forgot who sassy he could be.
"And some picked umbrella?" He asked faking suprise when he had seen it on first hand. "Most of them died I assume"
You could see the look on player 456 and decided to be more sensitive
"Hey, dont be like that. Im sure they went in blind and did not know what it was about" You said keeping a safe distance so no one would think you two were together or knew each other before the games.
In-ho was having too much fun.
~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆
That first night they both were in their respective beds. Still keeping their false relationship. However once (Y/N) was sure all were asleep she went towards In-ho who was awake like he knew she would be coming to him.
"Are you alright?" He asked in a whisper, worried that for her this would be too much.
"Im fine, I wanted to see if you were fine"
He nodded not saying a thing but taking her hand.
"Also, I saw you break that fight, really ? When did you even learn to do that ?" This made him smile and hold her hand thighter "Really! I only see you in your office all the time"
"You think I would come in here without knowing how to defend myself or you?"
She smiled at him, blushing in the dark. "No....I just thoguht all you did was be in your office and give orders"
In-ho rolled his eyes "Just wait till we are out of here, i will show you just how fit im"
~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆
The six legs game was both a chaos and funny. Honeslty you could not help yourself on hugging him and player 456 (who was slowly getting on your soft side) as you saw a team win.
However the shoots that came for these who did not survive were too much. You would swear In-ho gave the guards a cold stare because you would flinch sometimes.
"Hey, dont worry they wont shoot the ones who havent played" Player 456 reassured you with a calm tone
You nodded, knowing that even if you lost they wont shoot you or In-ho. It was still sweet to see him trying to calm you down.
~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆
"Not a word" He said during the night when you two were able to talk again.
"I was not going to say a thing, but you did in on purpose or were you really missing ?"
In-ho closed his eyes knowing you would later get the recording of him missing during the game and use it against him.
"It was all planned" he said trying to sound as convincing as he could.
"Whatever you say Honey"
~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆
The game of making pairs gave you nausea because of the carousel kept spinning around. And the rounds were stress again. The worse part was getting separated from In-ho who find you seeing how two players were dragging you so they could have the number they needed.
You havent see him get that angry in years, his protective self being on as he pulled one from the neck and punched the other one.
He kept punching almost forgetting there was a game you two were supposed to play.
"Leave him we still need two more" You urged only for a guard to shove two confused and scared players besides you and In-ho.
"We got them" He assured getting your hand and going to one room.
~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆
"In-ho!! (Y/N)!!" The worried screams of Gi-hun filled the place as he looked for both of you.
Even if he had promised to try and dont get attached to new players and survive he could not help but feel a connection with both of you.
"Gi-hun!" In-ho's voice called making him look over and see him coming towards the rest with you by hand something that made him curious but decided not to ask.
"Im glad to see you two alright" Gi-hun said seeing just a few bruises on you, and noticing blood on In-ho knuckles.
You catched his eyes and went to explain "He saved me" you told the rest looking at them then at In-ho who was looking back at you "I would have not made it otherwise"
The look of love you two shared was so genuine, some wonder if you two were together but trying to be discrete to protect yourselfs.
~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆
"They will most likely attack us tonight" Gi-hun explained as he showed the fork the guards had left when the food was given.
The idea only assented itself when the men returned from the bathroom, with blood on them.
"And what do you propuse us to do?" In-ho asked all of the Xs were in a circle trying to listen to what Gi-hun had to say.
Gi-hun told the others his plan, honestly you thoguht it was nusts, it wont work. They were far suprassed on numbers but you had to shut yourself up.
You could tell your husband was both amazed by it and even kind of respecting it. Or at least that what he showed to him. He needed Gi-hun's trust after all.
~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆
"Hide well" In-ho said besides you in a low tone "We can trust the guards but till they get here we cant trust the others"
You nodded knowing that very well since this was a typical phase of the game for years.
"We will be safe" You said holding his shoulder. "Do what you have to do, dont worry about me" You tried to make him feel at ease but he could not. The only thing that scared him more than anything were the other players trying to get to you.
"Just hang in there" He responded his forehead against yours.
~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆
The fight was on its hot spot. The players were killing each other without a second thought.
Nothing like living it, even if you have seen this type of thing multiple times. Its was unnerving to see them just going at each others troath. The screams and cries were too much for a moment, the dark did nothing to help.
Thats when you felt it. Someone had dragged you out from under the bed and was now on top of you. You saw the player move their left hand ready to Strike at you. You tried to punch and defend yourself but the person on top was too strong.
A cold scream left your mouth as the fork pierced your shoulder.
You could not help it, the adrenaline and anxiety was getting on you.
"In-ho! In-ho help me please" You screamed for him, your husband the love of your life.
"Shut up, the next one will be your neck" The person said and for a moment you saw it. Dying in here and leaving In-ho.
Till you felt the person being pushed and the screams of them. You blinked trying to make sense.
It was In-ho, he had taken the fork from the player and was now piercing the neck of the player, not even leaving a chance for them to survive.
"GO HIDE NOW!!" In-ho ordered, he being scared himself and angry. He saw red when you were dragged and it was for the brutal grip Gi-hun had on his arm that he did not move faster.
You did as told getting under another bed and making sure no one could reach you.
"You fucking scum! How dare you lay hands on my wife" In-ho almost screamed too angry to see that the player was now dead. All his face and hands where covered in blood.
"Stop it!! They are dead, we need to continue the plan, the lights will be back soon" Gi-hun said taking him and pulling him away from the dead player.
"Get (Y/N), and be ready" Gi-hun told him trying to keep himself calm even when he was close to jump over and save you and In-ho. He wondered if he had hear it right, you were his wife?
In-ho did not waste time, searching for you in the dark till he noticed you. He went quick, pulling yourself out from the bed telling you its was him.
"Shh shh its me, its over dont cry Love" He said trying to make you feel better.
"In-ho?" He nodded and you cried harder "In-ho I was so scared"
"I know love I know, just a bit more alright? It will be over soon. Listen once the guards come in and we follow Gi-huns plan do not come. Someone will come and get you"
"Im going with you, im not leaving you in a bullet fight!"
"You know nothings gonna happen to me, I want you here, safe, alright?"
Finally you accepted.
"I love you In-ho"
"I love you too Love"
~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆
As In-ho had said when the guards got back after the fight one took you, Player 120 tried to protest but was put back in her place by other guard.
"You are under suspect of have been part of the riot. You are now eliminated from the games"
The guard said playing his role, starting to get you out of the room while you screamed following the act.
~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~
"Apologies Madam, orders from the Front Man" The guard said bowing once you two were outside and out of reach from the others players.
Even if you were still breathing hard you nodded. "Dont worry, just take me to him". The guard nodded.
~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~
He knew he was needed in the control room but refused to let you alone like that. He went to your share room, his heart broke at your image, bruises and blood over you. A guard was checking your shoulder but left after he order them to.
Silence fell over both of you as he went to you and hugged you careful not to hurt your shoulder.
He removed his mask to look at you properly.
"Im sorry, I should have never let you come, I should have stopped this sooner" He said with pain in his voice
"Dont blame yourself, I told you I was going in with you. This was not your fault In-ho" You reassured him feeling sad and worried over him.
"I cant not blame myself" He gently passed his hand over your cheeck "You are the best thing in my life and I almost lost you because of my own desires, never again"
You two kissed softly grounding yourselfs. You two were safe and together nothing else matters from now. Only the love and devotion you two had for each other.

hiii so ive had this idea for a while now but i just dont have the skills to write it myself, its not really a reader x character but more of a maybe actor!reader x the actor of the character if u get me??😭😭
so the idea is actor!reader plays a character that is also played as the love interest/partner of hwang inho (lee byung hun's character) and during their scenes together (like an intimate scene between their characters) reader just keeps messing up her lines or having trouble staying in character because she keeps getting flustered/shy by lee byung hun causing them to redo the scene over and over again so him and the whole cast just keeps laughing and teasing her about it😣😣🙏🙏🙏
A/n: So I will be going in order of the requests I get in my ask box then I will start on some suggestions I have in the comments. Once again, I do Actor x reader actor! So here is one of those ideas and I love it. I was going to do a tag list but I don’t know why it won't let me tag people!
Trigger warnings: Talks of smut, Partial Smut (lol?)
Squid Game Masterlist
Lee Byung-hun x reader
Quiet On Set
(Y/n) knew this scene would be the hardest to film. Sure as a professional actor, she filmed multiple movies that had intimate scenes. However, (Y/n) never had a romantic interest in the other actors. There was an instant spark when she met Lee Byung-hun. His character happens to have a complex background and in this season goes undercover to destroy Gi-hun, Lee Jung-jae, in an attempt to show him no matter what, people are greedy. Thats when (Y/n) character is introduced. (C/n) is written to be the complete opposite of The Frontman, In-ho. She is kind, patient, understanding, caring, and meant to show the good in humanity even though she has been dealt only hardships in life. Throughout the season their love builds up, soft touches, knowing glances, and quick kisses in secret. All the while (Y/n) had been falling helplessly in love with Lee Byung-hun. Of course, the fans did not let this go unnoticed during their recent interviews. Social media had blown up with edits and multiple bloggers posting about the chemistry they shared. (Y/n) would not admit her guilty pleasure is watching those edits and making comments herself which and fans foaming at the mouths. Lee Byung-hun even found it humorous that people not only shipped their character but them as well. When any with him and (Y/n) not on set but together was posted the fans always blew the comment section up within minutes.
“Alright places everyone!” Hwang Dong-hyuk called as the crew rushed to make sure everything was set up in the correct frames. “(Y/n), Byung-hun are you all ready?” He asked kindly always wanting to double-check checking the actors were comfortable in scenes where they would be partially on display. (Y/n) nods even though slightly hesitant she walked onto the set and stood by the bathroom wall where the scene was going to be shot.
Byung-hun walked behind her with a smile, “Don’t be nervous (Y/n) this scene will be over before you know it.” It earned a shy smile from the actress leaning against the wall.
“I am not that nervous… It’s a while since I have done scenes like this. Alright, I think we are ready.” She told the director and Byung-hun nodded in agreement.
“Quiet on set, Take one, action!” He yelled and silence filled the room. (Y/n) could swear her heartbeat could probably be heard by how badly it was beating against her chest.
Byung-hun fell into character without hesitation moving to press (Y/n) the cold tile. She breathes heavily cheeks flushed looking into his eyes. “In-ho we can’t” She whispered as he began aggressively kissing up her neck pressing their bodies together. (Y/n) let out a whimper from the pleasure she felt.
“But you (C/n)” His voice went low showing his absolute dominance. (Y/n) wasn’t used to this side of the sweet Byung-hun. As scripted their jumpsuits were quickly discarded. The heavy breathing filled the room as the two actors stood almost nude in front of each other. His leg slipped between (Y/n).
She arched up and moaned softly feeling him rub his knee against her covered core. “Byung-hun!” (Y/n) gasped causing him to instantly freeze. “Fuck I’m sorry.” She said as the director yelled cut.
“Let's roll again.” As the scene had to be started over (Y/n) continued to be a flustered mess messing up the lines or using Byung-hun’s name instead of Young-Il.
“You are a mess.” He chuckled as the team thought it was hilarious she could not for the life of her finish the scene. Byung-hun smirked and leaned down whispering in a low sexual voice. “Do it in one shot this time and I’ll let you cry my name tonight.”
(Y/n)’s eyes widen looking into her costars eyes with a grin. Let's just say she didn’t mess up again.

𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐭𝐨𝐨 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐞, 𝐈 𝐜𝐚𝐧’𝐭 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐦𝐲 𝐞𝐲𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟𝐟 𝐨𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮.
~
Hwang in-ho ( the frontman ) x reader.
A/N: this will be a multi series. haven’t proof read
Warnings: nothing. I’m sure if you watched squid game you’ll be fine with this.
opening: you have been working alongside gi-hun for years after he came out of the games, after hearing his story it connected a few dots from your older brothers disappearance. After arriving at the games you found out that both of yours and gi-hun’s tracker implants have gone missing, you came face to face with your biggest nightmare… playing the game.
-
After playing red light, green light you hoped that you didn’t have to wake up the next day, you had no clue that a simple children’s game could have that amount of blood and death in it. After agreeing that you would join gi-hun’s plan, he told you all about the rule that ‘when your eliminated, your gone for good’ you didn’t really believe him but now you definitely do.
a part of you also wondered how long your brother survived.. a day? two? three? you wish you could of just slapped him silly and got him a job in your coffee shop. But- here you was awakening by the sound of classical music playing out of a speaker and metal squeaking as all the players started to move around in their bed.
you woke feeling not tired at all, not even doing the usual ‘rubbing your eyes and yawning’. Probably due to your lack of sleep or the amount of trauma you got from the day previous.
“y/n.. hey.. y/n” you heard a voice, a familiar one.. a frantic gi-hun was standing next to your bed, tapping your arm. “gi-hun, you okay?” you said which gi-hun replied with a shrug as he looked around at the players. “your telling me that everytime we wake up we’re going to hear that music?” you huffed, looking up at the speakers. “trust me, that should be the least of your worry.. I still can’t figure out how they managed to get our tracking chips” gi-hun said, now looking at you with a face of absolute confusion.
“players please line up in two cues to get breakfast” a woman’s voice from a speaker said in her usual happy tone. “come on, maybe a bite to eat will make us think” gi-hun proposed hitting the metal post of your bed, waiting for you to get up and join a line.
upon waiting in the cue, you and gi-hun got a load of looks and whispers.. few that said “look there’s the mad man” , “do you think they are a couple?” , “a nearly died because of that punk shouting”. you both ignored them and soon enough you received a bread roll and a carton of milk.
“hey y/n.. take my milk, you know my stomach doesn’t take it well” gi hun said, handing over his carton as you both took a seat on some steps next to jungbae and dae ho. you got to know the guys after red light, green light, gi-hun introduced jungbae to you saying that they were friends outside the game and well dae ho.. introduced himself to group after hearing over the discussion on what the next game could be which will now happen after the big vote that went on. That’s right. The vote. most of the players after red light, green light started begging to let them go and it ended with a massive vote to either stay or go and of course majority said stay.
“excuse me..” a voice approached the group, your wasn’t very familiar with it but after looking up it was the guy that came over to gi-hun after the vote, young-ill his name was.
“you all wouldn’t mind if I joined this group? a lot of players are talking about the next game being a team game. most of the groups formed already are teams of five and there are only four of y-“ young-ill said before getting dramatically cut off by dae ho “yes! you look very strong and have good thinking! reminds me of a pal i had when i was in the marines!” he said, putting his arm around his shoulder and patting his head.
you laughed, finding the situation of how dae ho was younger than young-ill and still acting like the oldest funny. “of course, take a seat” gi-hun said, his tone not one hundred percent certain on this guy as he gave you a look of ‘keep a eye on him.
“I say why not! what about you y/n can 001 join us?” Jungbae asked to which you just shrugged and looked over at the group “I don’t mind..” you said which got a kind smile off young-ill.
“Well welcome welcome double one!” dae ho said, looking over at young-ill as he took a bite out of his bread roll. “ah.. Thank you” young-ill replied, taking a look at everyone but lingering on you suspiciously long. “I couldn’t help but overhear the conversation before.. wanna take my milk too? I’m in the same situation as 456” young-hill said, looking over at you.. passing his carton of milk over to you.
You looked at him for a moment before shaking your head with a smile “thank you, but I think dae ho wants it more than me” you replied, pointing over to dae ho who was staring at the milk carton like he was an lion eyeing up its prey. Young- ill understood and nodded passing it over to dae ho instead.. his smile dropping almost like he was planning to give you the milk from the start.
“All players please make your way to the game hall.. the next game will be starting shortly” an announcement called out from the speaker which gave you a fright, spilling the milk that you was drinking on yourself. “fuck!” You groaned out of annoyance, taking your zip up jumper off and throwing it besides you as you and your team stood up.
you started to walk to the game hall before young-ill couldn’t help himself but approach you “you’ve got some- may I?” He said, pointing to your chin which had a white stripe of milk running down it. how embarrassing. Before you could answer young-ill had already brought his jumpers wrist and wipe it off for you.
“there you go..” he said, looking at you with a kind smile. “thank you, I didn’t realise- that could of been embarrassing” you said getting a little too flustered in the moment, you couldn’t lie to yourself he was attractive. “ah.. it was nothing, don’t thank me.. okay?” he said, looking up at your eyes before glancing down to your lips in a quick motion. you nodded, noticing the look and shaking the intimate motion off completely by hitting his shoulder and walking ahead “we’re going to be late! come on!”.
young-ill watched you walk off out of the door, now being left in the holding room with a bunch of guards. “whatever you do, keep that one safe..” he said, which in return got a bunch of nods and with that he walked out the door too.

hello all! firstly i want to thank you guys for all your unwavering support on my works! i was super nervous to start writing on tumblr because i’ve always been quite self conscious of my writing, so it truly makes my heart soar to see that you guys love what i put out there
i figured since my blog has been getting a fair amount of interaction lately, i would start up a taglist for the writings i come out with! that way, anyone who wishes to see a certain character can be notified when i put out works for them
this list will be ever-growing as my interests shift from different fandoms, trust i will stay writing for all my favourites though, and as usual if a new character is requested i will happily write for them as well!
NOW! there will be a list of emojis that i will assign certain characters to, if you would like to be tagged for that character’s content then please comment the respective emoji(s). if there’s a character you would like to see me write for that is NOT on this list, please comment that characters name and i’ll be sure to make note of it!

Thinking squid game thoughts and throwing theory spaghetti at a wall.
But, I was thinking about 2x01 and how the entire episode has so far been a kind of blueprint for S2. Gi-Hun is Gi-Hun at all times, but the Frontman figure changes here. In 2x01 the Salesman is playing In-Ho's role. He plays games with the homeless people in the park and punishes them for failing. Of course, outside of the actual games it's not lethal, all he does is give them a chance, a choice, and then ruins their food instead of gunning them down (which is now of course, beneath him, since he got that promotion and a suit).
Gi-Hun is hunting him, he's recruited 'soldiers' in his quest. Much like the volunteers he takes with him to hunt the frontman in the actual games. He takes losses both times, with his right hand men being executed.
Gi-Hun then is found (he finds. But mostly he's found) by the salesman who instigates a murder game of his own (one could almost think that gi-hun awoke something in him in S1 with that lighter) and they're both left with a High chance that when they pull that trigger, they will die. But they both give each other an out to this, and say 'you don't Have to do that, so long as you admit that I'm right and you're wrong' (something something voting illusion of choice something something).
Gi-Hun with a 50% chance of shooting himself in the head, pulls the trigger on himself rather than say that he means nothing, that the hundreds of people who're murdered mean nothing, that they're just meaningless horses to bet on. He lives, obviously.
Now it's the salesman's turn, he's left with 100% chance that if he pulls the trigger on himself that he will die. Gi-Hun gives him an out as well, and says that he should just admit that he's as much as a worthless dog as he is. He shoots himself in the head and leaves a stain on the wall that stays there the whole time they're using that set instead.
Anyway, It's interesting because the show Is going into the guards this season through 011, and even introduced her as a fake out making you think that she'd been spotted as a competitor. Her life genuinely makes you believe that she could fall victim to them, she's after money to try and track down her daughter, she has lousy badly paid work as a theme park actor in a heavy faceless suit (and oh, the concept of her always wearing a mask at work be it to make children smile or to slaughter others. Oof.) and lives in her car with a security guard telling her that he'll throw the book at her if she keeps sleeping in the parking lot.
My point being, it IS believable that they'd eye her for a contestant. The difference is, she got headhunted for her ability to kill. A strain of ruthlessness mixed with skill that is not evident in most of the players (though, i could make an argument for Sang-Woo here, but i don't think he's the type of guy who'd have accepted that lowly kind of work, you know? Plus, all the guards we've seen look to be recruited young). We know from the salesman that he thought nothing of what he was doing, from burning to killing to recruiting what he saw as animals. He even openly admits that he murdered his own father as one of the pink guards and that all it did was show him that he was Good at this. Didn't care at all.
If we look at both of these people who were/are pink guards, we have two people who apparently didn't have much else to do, that both needed work, who are also ruthless. Not necessarily in debt, but not people with every advantage (no-eul was starting from zero, apparently the salesman was the son of somebody in deep debt). Salesman moved up in the world and thought it made him big, enough so that he chose to die rather than admit he was just another cog in the machine who meant nothing.
My point being, of course, that they Are the cogs in the machine that Gi-Hun points out (he may fully comprehend this eventually, but in a games setting he seems to have forgotten this).
Anyway, back to the original point, Gi-Hun is waging philosophical war with the salesman and is being tested and prodded and poked by him, and also testing and prodding and poking him back. Which is a small preview to how his relationship with In-Ho has played out in S2 (even if Gi-Hun had no idea that it was happening). The entire episode appears to be the season in short form.
Which brings me to theorizing, because I mentioned before about the difference between the guards and the players, and that the foil to gi-hun's world views in the entire season is In-Ho, because crucially, In-Ho is Not like the other people working there because he was headhunted as a contestant. Not a guard.
The Salesman emotionlessly recounts the tale of the murder of his own father, not even a story of personal defeat over a man he had feelings for, just an emotionless and faceless execution where his father had no idea whose face lay behind the mask. This man couldn't be convinced with anything Gi-hun had to say.
In-Ho, however, shot his brother last season and he did it to save him. He also looked So very traumatized by doing it. This isn't a man with no feelings like the salesman, it's a man who doesn't remember how to actually feel them, or how to extend them to those he doesn't personally care for. Because for every awful thing he's done, he sure does still care about his baby brother (the baby brother whom he would have realistically helped raise as a father figure, his very own estranged child, just like Gi-Hun).
So for all ep1 was a preview of the whole season, I think there will be divergence from here. The crux of the story is of the contrasting world views of Gi-Hun and In-Ho, but unlike the salesman from the season preview episode, In-Ho isn't devoid of human emotion or care and actually Does have the base capacity to change, in my opinion.
I think my controversial take for fandom is that it won't be Gi-Hun that tips the scales for him (if indeed they ever do tip. This could be far less complicated than i'm reading into it and it may just be foreshadowing In-Ho dying futilely instead of admitting he was wrong) because he's Very sensitive about proving Gi-Hun wrong and ego does so much to people, but In-Ho's difference to the Salesman is his love and care for his family, his mirror the little brother, who is so helpfully searching ardently for him the entire season.
The salesman didn't Have an outside figure who he loves to alter his course because he evidently never cared for any of the people in his life before, whereas In-Ho Does. The most open plot thread on the entire show that hasn't even been tackled yet is the brothers, mirror images, so similar yet such different in their outlooks and their reunion will have had an entire season's worth of build up to it.
I think that little difference between In-Ho and the rest of the people involved in the games may be what symbolically 'saves' him. I'm not sure how he'd live through this show, if i'm being honest, but he doesn't have to die the person he is right now, which would be a win for Gi-Hun even if it would hurt. Gi-hun has spent a season unknowingly digging knives into his worldly views, and that will most certainly have had a big effect on him even if right now it has evidently not done a thing to alter his actions, but I do think it could potentially have softened him up enough that his mirror may be able to re-join the narrative and bodily drag him back to a sense of basic humanity.
I am completely clueless as to how any arc between in-ho and gi-hun would culminate, but that's nice. I like to be kept guessing and it's bound to be big.
This got far more long winded than intended.

456 + 001 | SQUID GAME TK HCS
Seong Gi-Hun — LEE This man is an absolute sweetheart. Despite being strong-willed, I headcanon him as an extremely adorable lee. When him and sangwoo were little, they used to get into enormous tickle fights, which since Gi-Hun was the older one out of the two, he’d come out on top, although sometimes he lets sangwoo win because secretly he doesn’t mind it all that much - When Gi-Hun first joined the games, and since he’s been given all this trauma that he can’t treat till he finds out the “truth”, being ticklish for him just blew out the window. To be honest, he totally forgot he was ticklish at all from the trauma he has faced in recent years, but that all changed when the 2024 Squid Game took place. Being back in the one place that traumatized you most did many things to him, but when “Player 001” accidentally found out he was ticklish, he never heard the end of it. It was a foreign but somewhat familiar childish sensation, which of course he didn’t mind. Now for spots - I’d say his ribs are the most ticklish. Following in second and third place would be his armpits and sides. Even a brush of fingers against his sides would get him yelping. Even with age, it seemed like his sensitivity with touch stayed the same. LER Like I’ve stated before, this man is an absolute sweetheart. He will always make sure his lee is comfortable, and will never cross anyone’s boundaries when tickling them. Usually, he tickles someone to cheer them up, but when his daughter was little, he used to tickle her all the time to make her laugh just because he loved to see her smile, and that was probably the most joyous moment he’s treasured with his daughter before losing custody in the divorce. During the games though, he never wanted anyone to feel like they were alone. He truly felt as if he was the hero, and even if he couldn’t change the course of the future, he would try to do anything he could. As he met “Player 001”, or Young-il, which was the name he gave Gi-Hun. He found out that he was in the games for his ill, pregnant wife. There would be many nights where Young-il would sell the role perfectly by crying, wondering, and hoping that the outcome would be in his favor. As Gi-Hun’s heart ached for his new friend, he only did the one thing he knew how to. It’s like Gi-Hun’s ler side just awoke from a 5 year slumber as he poked Young-il’s side, and even he couldn’t hold back his genuine reaction since he’s human. And, this is when Gi-Hun started his first tickle fight in years. God, it felt so good to finally release that energy, and practically act like children. Sure, Young-il could’ve kicked him in the face easily, but it was a price he was willing to pay…
(Player 001/Frontman) Hwang In-Ho — LEE Now.. this guy may be stoic, and he may have all his emotions in control, but he’s still a human, and being ticklish is a part of human nature. In-Ho forgot he was ticklish for quite some time just like Gi-Hun did, but I think it was way before he won the games in 2015. Being a police officer in the past, he was trained to never give in. No weakness, no kindness, no remorse. Despite believing in this fact, he could never get rid of his humanity. When he met Gi-Hun in the 2024 Squid Game, he could’ve never predicted how ‘touchy’ the man would be. Like I stated in Gi-Hun’s portion of this post, the player decided to test out if In-Ho was ticklish. Now… this could’ve ended badly, but fortunately for Gi-Hun, the stoic man was laughing too much to actually punch him in the jaw. For spots, I think most of us squid game tk fans saw the video of lee jung-jae (gi-hun’s actor), and lee byung-hun (in-ho’s actor), where lee jung-jae began to lightly tickle his neck/chin area, right? Well - it would be a crime if I didn’t mention it here. I headcanon that In-Ho’s tickle spots are mostly around his shoulder and neck area. If you scribble right underneath his chin, he scrunches up like a turtle, and cute-sounding giggles will immediately pour out of him <3. He may be deadly, but he’s absolutely adorable. Although Gi-Hun found this out, he immediately got wrecked afterwards - LER That brings us to the ler section! You see, when Jun-Ho (In-Ho’s little brother) was little, In-Ho used to wreck the shit out of him. Usually, it was because the little nuisance annoyed him to death. Being 16 years apart, In-Ho truly had the upper-hand. And trust me when I say that In-Ho shows no mercy when tickling his lees, and of course - this includes Gi-Hun. Though In-Ho is supposed to be acting as Player 001, when a tickle fight initially starts, he can’t help but feel genuine satisfaction when Gi-Hun is literally laughing his ass off and going crazy. When In-Ho found out that kneading his knuckles into Gi-Hun’s ribs made him cackle like a banshee, he couldn’t stop smirking and teasing him afterwards. This man is relentless, especially with his verbal teases. I like to think he’d use teases such as “hm… it seems like i found another spot that makes you squeal like a girl… aren’t you embarrassed?” and as his lee would try to cover up their laughter, he’d get a spot so brutal that would make it impossible to stay silent.
NOTE: if you guys want more characters.. lmk! i just tried out writing hehehe.

@0000218 , what have you done?
it started when he didn’t get on that plane. his daughter was waiting for him in america, he had the ticket in his hand, but as soon as gi-hun got that final phone call, he turned back. almost without a second thought, which scared the man more than anything. but gi-hun isn’t the same as he used to be. he’s aware he’s a shell of the giggling, naive person he was before he played in those deadly games, before he almost watched his best friend — his lover — die. but it’s been a year, and that sorrow he felt, the trauma he held close to his chest, became a numbness gi-hun couldn’t get rid of ; one that grew every day. when he talked to the old man for the last time, he asked gi-hun if he still believed in the good in people, if gi-hun could still see humanity in those that walked the streets. he was unsure of the answer back then, though he still had hope. now, he knew there was no such thing.
it seemed far too easy to get back to that island. they were eager to have him, but they didn’t realize what he wanted until their frontman was dead and gi-hun was wearing the mask. no one questioned him. they saw the look in his eyes, the emotionless stare, the ruthless glint, and they allowed him to do whatever he pleased. gi-hun took the role of the administrator and turned it into something to be reckoned with — the last man was, of course, merciless, but gi-hun was a man to be feared. it’s something he’s never been before. the goofy school boy turned into a man who took nothing seriously, not even his family or his debts, and he ended up near death. now he was a mystery, commanded with an iron fist, making it clear that every rule must be followed, otherwise this would not end well. he wished he missed his old life. instead, he couldn’t bring himself to miss anything.
he’d seen sang-woo’s file before he was picked up from the streets, and gi-hun was almost surprised ( almost ). he isn’t sure if sang-woo knows he’s there, but he has an inkling. gi-hun doesn’t reveal himself. he must keep the mask on, just like everyone else. sang-woo may have figured out what gi-hun has done, but he wouldn’t know for sure unless he won his second round of games. gi-hun had held nothing back in setting up this tournament. it is a bloody landscape, every game, but sang-woo is ruthless in his approach, just as he had been the first time, and he wins. 218, finally the winner. is it all it’s cracked up to be, sang-woo? gi-hun thinks as he makes his way down the elevator, alone this time. all the cameras are off, at gi-hun’s request. are you finally satisfied?
doors open slowly, the newest frontman standing with his hands clutched at his waist. he can see sang-woo covered in blood, even from this distance, even through the mesh of the mask. even clearer when he walks toward sang-woo, step by step, gi-hun taking his time. they’re feet apart when he finally stops, allowing a long silence to fall between them before gi-hun is reaching up to remove the geometric mask. face to face, once again. it seems their reunions come in sections, years of resentment and denial and ignorance keeping them apart. their story, it’s a tragedy, but gi-hun isn’t as hurt by it now as he once was. now, he’s just like sang-woo. the other man should be proud of him.
what have you done? gi-hun asked himself the same question, at first. he had abandoned his daughter, the life he had. he left everything, after burying his mother, and he started anew in a life much too cold for the man he used to be. what he’s done is taken back his control. and does sang-woo realize he’s part of it? a part of what gi-hun has become? once bright, brown eyes are now dispassionate as he stares at the other man. ‘ i did the same thing anyone else would’ve done, ’ not even his voice is the same. gaze travels over sang-woo’s appearance, unfazed by the blood and his wide eyes. when they make contact again, gi-hun doesn’t even smile ( he doesn’t remember the last time he had ). ‘ does it feel good to win, sang-woo? ’

“friend or foe” pt.2
soft!frontman (hwang in-ho) x you
when frontman joined the games, he thought it was solely to see gihun fail, but his intentions shifted when a certain player number 455 caught his attention…
⟢ ──── ●▲■ ──── ⟢
the next day, you ate breakfast with in-ho and the team. they discussed different strategies and games in which they might have to play.
naturally, in-ho had given his milk to you even after much protests. he explained how it would help you get stronger and ready for the games.
“where’s my milk?” jung-bae sulked as everyone laughed.
you stayed beside in-ho the entire time. since after the second game, you had grown very fond of him. and luckily for you, so did he.
he felt protective of you, he wouldn’t let you out of his sight. even more so in a place like this. when you were caught up with thanos’ team, trying to save yourself after bumping into nam-gyu
in-ho made sure to step up, teaching thanos and his friends a lesson for laying a hand on you, or even threatening you.
he would have went feral if you hadn’t stopped him by pulling him away into a corner, helping him cool off.
“it’s okay, i’m okay.” you told him as you tried to get him to tear his eyes away from glaring at thanos.
“did they hurt you?” he simply asked, ignoring everything else you had just said.
‘no’. you shook your head.
after that, he made sure he always had you within feet from him.
⟢ ──── ●▲■ ──── ⟢
when it was time for the third game, in-ho held your hand as everyone walked towards the game room.
“i hope it’s something we can play in teams.” he said to you, making you smile.
“why? so you can team up with me?” you teased.
“of course.”
when you reached the game room, a large carousel sat in the center of the room. around it were different colored doors with numbers on them, 1-50.
“what is this?” in-ho wondered out loud as a voice came through the speakers.
‘the game is mingle. the carousel will move when the music plays…once it stops, a number will be called out. the number is the number of people you will need to have in your group before you enter a room of your choice.’
“shit.” you cursed under your breath.
it was going to be a bloodbath.
of course, in-ho already knew this. he might have been acting scared, but deep down, he was. how was he to garuntee your safety in a game like this.
if he didn’t come up with anything quickly, he could mess up the game, or worse, lose you.
⟢ ──── ●▲■ ──── ⟢
‘start’
ring-a ring-a ring-a ring-a ring-a ring-a ring-a
as the giant carousel began to rotate, in-ho’s grip on your hand became tighter.
‘10’
“we need 5!” gi-hun yelled over the chaos that insued.
“we’re 5! let’s go! green door!” player 120 said as both teams ran for the door.
inside, in-ho made sure you were okay first before he checked on the rest.
“you should be thanking me!” a woman suddenly declared, throwing her hand up in the air. “without me, you all would have died!”
“geez! the ego on this woman.” jung-bae scoffed.
then, she whipped her head around, finger flying to your face as she stopped inches away, almost hitting you.
“can i help you?” you asked.
“you… you’re here for a purpose.” she said.
in-ho pulled you aside, stepping in front as he glared at the woman.
“you talk to her again and i’ll make sure you’re locked outside.”
the woman could only gulp.
just in time, the door unlocked, saving the lady’s ass as well as yours.
⟢ ──── ●▲■ ──── ⟢
“fuckin’ crazy sharman lady.” in-ho muttered to himself as he got back up onto the platform.
you giggled. it was funny how he was affected by everything else but the deadly game he was in the midst of.
‘4’
shit. someone was going to be left behind.
“gi-hun! take her, i’ll find others!” in-ho instructed as gi-hun nodded, grabbing your arm and dashing into a room.
“young-il!” you screamed as you were being dragged away from him.
he was so selfless, he only cared about saving you and his ‘friends’.
“he’ll be okay.” dae-ho told you as he stood beside you, peeping through the hole in the door.
the next few minutes were excruciating. you couldn’t find in-ho in the running, desperate crowd.
little did you know, in-ho was in a room on his own, locking it before anyone could enter.
he catched his breath as a guard came up to the doorhole, aiming his gun at him.
“stand down.” in-ho ordered, making the guard turn away, walking off.
when the doors unlocked, you sprinted out.
“there!” gi-hun called out, pointing to in-ho who was running towards you.
you practically flung yourself onto him, taking him aback as he laughed.
“oh my god, i was so worried.” you told him as you pulled away.
“you can’t rid of me that easy.”
“ah! we thought you couldn’t find enough people in time!” jung-bae chipped in.
“i’m a very likeable man, i do well in these games.” he joked.
⟢ ──── ●▲■ ──── ⟢
when it came down to the final round, a thick air of tension filled the atmosphere.
the last number was announced, ‘2’. you knew exactly what they were doing. around 150 people left, 50 rooms, you were going to have to fight for the rooms.
the team had split up, in-ho naturally sticking eith you as you both ran for the nearest room.
just as you were about to enter, you felt a strong push, knocking you to the ground onto your back as the man took your place, shutting the door as the timer hit 0.
“y/n!” in-ho shouted as tears started to fill your eyes.
“young-il… don’t let me die.” you cried.
oh, he was angry. angry wasn’t even actually able to cover it. he was fuming.
he picked up the man by the collar, punching and kicking him as he yelled in frustration.
as the guards approached you, you heard his voice.
“standdown! now!” he said, “that is an order.”
just like that, the gun held up towards your temple was gone. the guard walked over to the room, using a set of keys to open it before standing behind you.
in-ho however did not step out. he simply grabbed the man who was already fighting for his dear life, locking him in a headlock.
“w-what?” you asked, backing away from in-ho as his eyes pooled with anger.
“take her upstairs.” he said to the guard as he nodded, lifting you up and dragging you away.
the last thing you heard was the loud crack of the man’s neck echoing through your ears.
(i am going insane)

The Frontman sighed, pinching his brow. Without his favorite player in the games, thinking of them made it only half as fun. Then again, he could probably stop now anyway, since he found what he had always desired. But this was the best way to scout out new opponents for his Perfect Player, those who were worthy of playing against him. Of course he knew Y/N would beat them all, he would not have it any other way. This one was not only the Perfect Player, but he still kept this child-like innocence and wonder in his eyes. Someone who killed with a happy smile and childish laughter, two things that were complete opposites. He brought together everything, all aspects of light and shadow, good and evil, right and wrong.
Y/N was not only the Perfect Player, but also the perfect human. A diamond in a world of coal, the flower in a city of stone, the apple of the garden Eden. How badly he wanted him. While the Frontman was not in love with him like Sangwoo was, he desired Y/N just as much, like one desires an ideal partner. His phone lit up, and all attention was lost from designing games. There was one person he had given his number to, and it was who he had just thought about. With a pleased smile, he took the call.
"Good evening, Mr. [lastname]", he greeted. Y/N giggled, a little shiver going through his body upon hearing the Frontman's voice. This was the voice that praised him so much, put him on a pedestal. "Good evening Mr. Frontman. I'm back home, but alone. My uncle and Sangwoo were not really understanding, they preferred to have crybaby me and not player me there. I don't know where Sangwoo is right now, but I bet he's either still at my uncle's place or at Gi-Hun's. Maybe he needs some time to understand and love the strong me he doesn't need to protect." The Frontman smiled. Y/N talked to him like a young child to their parent, telling them about their day at school. He was quite pleased with this. After all, if Y/N really went into the games with only seeing them as this, and then killing his opponents...how perfect he would be.
"I'm sure he will come around, My Perfect Player. How could he not? You are so wonderful like this, so strong and smart", he praised, knowing how much Y/N enjoyed this by now. He was rewarded with a happy chuckle from the other end. "Thank you Mr. Frontman. I decided to train now, so I can stay your Perfect Player and be a good source of entertainment. I'll make everyday tasks a game, just now I cleaned the whole apartment in under fifteen, and if I hadn't managed, I'd have to punish myself." Well, this was not what the Frontman wanted. While he was pleased to hear that Y/N would train to continue being perfect, he did not like the prospect of him getting damaged. He wanted to keep Y/N how he was now. The pretty eyes, sweet smile, perfect face and body. Just how to convince him of that?
Sangwoo felt like he was hit by a truck. It hurt so much to hear Y/N say this, but he couldn't deny it. He had sworn to protect Y/N countless times, and he had failed over and over. He had been unable to protect him in the first games, had been unable to protect him from the second's, from the guards, from anyone. All he had done was talk and then apologize, trying to make up for his broken promise by caring.
"Y/n wait I-" "No Sangwoo, I'm done! No one has ever done as much as he's done for me!" Y/n yelled out, leaving the house with a slam of the front door. Sangwoo flinched at the sound. He wanted to go after him and try to reason with him, but it felt like his feet were frozen in place. He wanted to go tell y/n he was sorry and wanted to help him. But what affect would that have on y/n now? He was far too gone now. And that was a horrible reality. All the three men in the room could just stand in silence.
Y/n huffed as he walked father away from the house, looking up at the sky. They were all so stupid and unhelpful! He loved Sangwoo so very much, but it felt he done nothing compared to what the Frontman has done. He couldn't think about that now. All he needed to focus on was the next game the Frontman would him play, not the people seemingly holding him back.

Okay fine, so my mid season take on the world's most troubling older brother is that he really Is kind of soft, he is perfectly capable of shooting somebody between the eyes but shot his brother in the shoulder after asking him to join him. This guy, if nothing else, cares about failcop baby brother.
This is, of course, in direct contrast to the Salesman who i'm starting to think is being used as a foil for the brothers because of his comment about killing his own father in cold blood in the game and realising he was cut out for this kind of life. In-Ho did, in fact, have a bit of a mental breakdown after shooting his brother in the shoulder (who'd seen his face. If anybody sees your face you get killed. Thems the rules.) proving that he is not the same type of guy as the salesman.
Of course, though, while he may or may not know that his brother is on Gi-Hun's team here, he's obviously the most directly comparable to another winner. And when he won, he ended up in an upper management position in the system that did this to him. Gi-Hun, in contrast, declared war on the whole institution and he's Not going to give that up. He's found a backbone and while it may very well break, it's not going to bend.
And so, In-Ho, whose response was to perpetuate the violence here But who is clearly not as coldhearted as all the other people involved in this venture, Probably has suuuuuuuch an inferiority complex over Gi-Hun that he probably loathes him. Wants to ruin him. Is willing to play again seemingly just to mess with him (him saying that his deciding vote was cast as Carry on playing Because of Gi-Hun is the absolute worst thing to have said to him in that moment and was meant to cause as much psychic damage as humanly possible).
So far the only employee who's shown any kind of proper humanity Is this guy, and he's the guy trying to demoralise and hurt Gi-Hun as much as possible through psychological warfare. But i Am curious as to how Soldier 011 knows that guy she kept zooming in on. I shall see.
Either way, I think the frontman has cast Gi-Hun as his ultimate beloathed because he makes Him feel bad and he resents that. Of course, he makes him feel bad Because he's actually being awful and he's not really going to escape that one unless he stops. No amount of torturing Gi-Hun is going to help here in the long run.
#squid game spoilers#no spoilers please#i mean i won't be weird about it but i enjoy untangling narratives without any cheat codes you know#to see if i end up right
