Maybe it's just me and I just don't understand the arc. Or maybe this arc will get some grand conclusion I'm really starting to doubt. But like I'm sick and tired of Tashigi being used as Zoro's misogyny proxy. Like the "a woman swordsman could never beat a man" belief and trauma made sense for both Kuina and Tashigi and was a very valid fear way back in the East Blue when they were still fighting relatively normal people and had no scope of how big the world is
but at this point where there are literally 20 feet tall dudes and people can blow up a whole city with just Haki the only reason Tashigi is still weak is because she is being written that way. Which is really hard to understand because it seems now more than ever One Piece has been getting more and more strong female characters so I don't know why every time Tashigi is on screen with Zoro we have to rehash this. It's even worse cause all she does in the scene is prove Zoro right by getting in a fight that she can't handle and needing saving. It's such a confusing message and honestly doesn't really apply or come up anywhere but with Tashigi and Zoro (outside of that one time where Zoro yells at enel for blasting Robin because she's a woman which was weird because Robin's been in a lot of fights before but seemed there just so enel could point out just how ruthless it is.)
Hell with the exception of the G5 all being in love with her. She is treated like a regular character and not just "the woman"
It honestly feels like both Tashigi and Smoker got lost in the narrative and Oda just doesn't know where to put their arcs. It feels like she was being written to help Zoro overcome whatever mental block Kuina's death instilled in him about facing female opponents with his sword. But she is just sooooo far behind him it renders the point moot and strengthens his convictions (it's weird that he will literally crush a woman's face rather than use his sword and is the only reason I won't say he doesn't fight women he does he just seems to have a mental block about cutting them down especially if they fight with anything blade like) but also we've only ever seen him face female character he knows can't challenge him it would have been interesting to see what he'd do in a fight against someone like big mom, tsuru or smoothie doubt that will happen though. But here's to hoping for Tashigi to have an actual arc.
#I'm just tired of this woman in fantasy situations still needing to be physically weaker than men#not to actually explore misogny but just because#like one dude tried to argue that Maki is inherently weaker than toji because she's a woman#like what? we are talking about a world where a dude literally has infinity at his disposable biology doesn't matter#stop infecting it with your misogny#or maybe she has this huge final role Oda is the god of bringing back random characters and leveling them up after all#like we are talking about a world where there's a dude literally made of fire I do not want to hear about the biological reality#this isn't reality#youre female characters arent strong because they aren't written to be strong and that's a you problem#I like tashigi 95% of the time she's a great character. But can women just be “weak” without it being because they are women?#can we just do that#been having so much fun in the mishanks/cross guild section of the fandom#I genuinely forgot how much the portrayal of women in one piece irritated me and was a big reason I stopped keeping up in the first place#here's my rant I guess#op#one piece#ranting#mini rant#roronoa zoro#tashigi#feminism#one piece women#I do like that it's a least alot better now with inclusion of more female characters#I do acknowledge that most of this manga was written in the early 2000s but come on Punk Hazard was literally not that long ago#one piece thoughts#women

Took a long break from one piece I was starting to burnout but we are so BACK In loving Punk Hazard!! Chopper seems like he'll be really active this arc which i am HAPPY for and Nami herself is being cool as always i fucking love her
The rests of the straw hats only had more comical moments and not much story importance but I feel like Brook is getting set up for a important role taking down the Smiley
There's also Law who interests me so much + he's hot I can't wait to learn his deal
The candy scene was horrifying I immediately put together the children were getting drugged and was Begging for it to be wrong...
Can't wait to see how Smoker and Tashigi impact the rest of the arc too (Tashigi ESPECIALLY with how she reminds Zoro of Kuina I think it's long pass time for this plot point to get resolved)
Idk who is fighting Monet but I'm guessing either Usopp (he has a history) or Nami (she normally fights other women + she wasn't given a combat in fishman island ALTHOUGH i could see her big role this arc being to save the kids .... although monet could try and capture them again)
There's not that many antagonists Just Ceaser and Monet but Doflamingo being in the new opening makes me suspect shit 👁️
I hope Luffy is forced to stop fighting Caesar for a moment and for Smoker to be forced to fight him I'll love to see how Smoker fights someone with a df that's just a better version of his I think

Wha--?! Silk finally finished her fem Zoro design after (checks notes) literally 6 months since she made the canvas in procreate?
I'll break down design thoughts and share some fun bonus pics under the cut:
I LOVE long hair on Zoro, I think that was the first change I wanted to implement. Zoro in canon actually has a really interesting relationship with gender dynamics which (if for some reason you're reading this and you haven't watched One Piece) can seem out of left field for the "dumb brute" character. His rivalry with and reverence for Kuina suggests he doesn't adhere to the idea that women are weaker than men. Later on, however, during his confrontation with Monet and Tashigi during Punk Hazard, his hesitation to slash her down reveals that he's subconsciously over-protective of women because he thinks they're inherently weaker. I actually don't have any problem with this character trait, I think it makes him feel more real as a person and he obviously gets shit-talked enough about it in the story itself. But how did I want to reflect these beliefs if Zoro had been born a woman? Easy: internalized misogyny and applying value to herself via her appearance.
My version of Zoro grew up wanting to fight with swords but her only chance of entering the dojo was to work under the proprietress, Lady Shimotsuki to maintain the property, cook meals for the male students, and eventually be a good wife to the current heir, Kuina. She learns that, to get what she wants, she must be the ideal woman, even if she stays up all night training swordsmanship with Kuina when she isn't supposed to. He treats her love for swordplay seriously and treats her like an equal, which sparks a bond between them and eventually leads to Zoro's goal of becoming the world's greatest swordsman after his sudden, accidental death.
After years of intense training (now that Lady Shimotsuki admits that she'll need a new heir and Zoro is the closest thing she has) Zoro's finally old enough to leave and begin her journey. She starts letting go of the idea that she has to look pulled together to be taken seriously because she can just kill anyone who looks down on her. Her clothing falls into disrepair, she wears outfits that help her move in combat, and she starts tossing her hair up into messy, knotted buns under her bandana. Even so, she keeps her hair long like rolling hills of grass. (At least during pre-timeskip. She lops off her hair to prove to Mihawk that she's serious about being trained.)
I've put her in a thin sweater that she stitches (poorly) back together after her first interaction with Mihawk. (I kept one sleeve because I was inspired by the santoryuu Nami that Oda drew that one time.) I also wanted to girl-ify the ubiquitous haramaki so I picked leg warmers for her because I think they're sufficiently "dated" enough to be kinda analogous with his old man belly warmer. I also love gyaru fashion, sue me.
Here is a screenshot of her as a blonde:
And here is a sketch of her post-timeskip where she's fully embraced her butch nature:
Hubba hubba, am I right?
Check out my tag "girl piece original design" to see more of my genderbending art! Next post, I'll put all my East Blue Crew designs together! I can't believe it's taken this long but I AM SO HAPPPPPYYYYY

Scary Warlord of the Sea - Trafalgar Law
I want to talk about Law's introduction on Punk Hazard, and the fight that follows. Starting with this moment:
It's been an eternity since Law's last appearance in the story when this takes place, and it's the first time he shows up after the time skip. Last time he was seen he was a sleepy-faced dude with a polar bear friend who saved Luffy's life. A bit weird but not very intimidating. This Law though, is first seen skulking in the shadows, offering to help the local villain take care of a notoriously "insane, cruel, and merciless" bunch of marines that's come knocking.
Is Trafalgar Law a villain now? Is he in charge of this very evil-seeming science facility??
Well, he sure looks shady enough to be a villain, and the notoriously merciless marines seem scared out of their fucking minds to see him.
This scene is shorter in the manga but I love the way the anime drags it out by having Tashigi name-drop other Warlords to put his new title and status into perspective. The marines are literally screaming, crying, throwing up over how scary he is, retelling the story of his 100 hearts delivery, all while Law just stands there, smiling.
And that's the thing I wanna talk about. The standing and smiling and how he acts throughout this whole encounter. The way he's leaning against that wall just like he's leaning on his own reputation to do all the work for him. His job in this situation is to scare these people away without letting them know what's going on behind those doors.
If it weren't for Smoker standing his ground, the marines might have simply turned to flee at the sight of him, without Law even having to lift a finger to encourage them. Smoker seems to be having a hard time getting around Law's arguments too. They're both working under the government here and Law doesn't offer any outright hostility or threat for him to act on. Because Law is smart.
Law is handling this navy problem non-violently with minimal effort and it seems to be going according to plan.
But then the Straw hats happen!
And also giant abducted children used for science experiments he had no knowledge of what so ever because he's been minding his own fucking business.
And now he has to deal with taking the blame for horrifying child abuse AND looking like he blatantly lied about the Straw hats and also looking like he's incompetent enough to let all those dirty secrets pop out right behind him in a rain of fucking confetti at the worst possible moment.
(does not deny this)
He looks like he just aged ten years out of pure 'what the actual fuck'-stress. Like, where does he even begin with this situation? He's not responsible for any of that shit. He's just there to destroy some other evils, as discreetly as possible, but now he has to silence an entire unit of marines, just so the mess other people made won't ruin his own plans. Plans that's he's worked on for 13 years. Sounds like a typical Trafalgar Law day.
So he apologizes for saying something that wasn't true and then he handles the problem by causing massive property damage.
While not causing any lasting harm or even pain on a single one of his opponents.
The thing I think is so interesting with looking at Law's behavior in these interactions, is how he plays a role the entire time. He is not a villain, but he deliberately lets people believe that he is capable of great evil and cruel acts for his own gain, because that's his defense. It's a deterrent and a warning. His yellow black patterned coat fits that strategy perfectly, like the message of a wasp or poison dart frog. I can kill you, stay clear.
He keeps the cold, creepy act up the entire battle and makes it known that he could kill everyone there. Easily. He's never even close to trying though, and when he takes Smoker's heart he keeps it safe.
Law has no problem letting people believe horrible things about him if it can get him where he needs to go, but he's famously got a bunch of problems with people thinking he's a good person. I think that plays heavily into why he falls to being Doflamingo-cruel verbally to Tashigi when she goads him to kill her, but there are too many layers and things to say about that particular exchange so I'll save it for another time.
At the end of the day, it's all about this I think:
Law hearing people call him a creepy freak madman vs hearing Luffy say he's lucky to have met him.
#trafalgar law#one piece#there is so much to say#now that I've watched it all#but this was where I wanted to start#love Punk Hazard Law

Trafalgar Law and his rare friendships (Law and closeness series part 4)
Let's venture into less explored territory. And we will start with no one else but our beloved Kinemon!
They met at Punk Hazard, Kinemon doing some rampage and Law was sent by Caesar to stop him. At first he cut him up into three pieces apparently, but I think Kin is colorizing here a lot.
Because let's take a look at his awesome feats. He might be cut into pieces, but he's still a decent threat despite that! I think Law started by cutting Kinemon in half, then got surprised he still tried to fight him, and then he cut off his head as well only to realize that even the head alone is probably bouncing around as well! So he caught it, but in the meantime the legs already run somewhere else and the torso escaped Law on his way back to lab somehow which is where Brook finds it later. And Law was probably like "screw it, I don't have time for this" and left it be for now. But I bet it wasn't "letting his torso to rot, and feed legs to wild beasts" like Kinemon claims. After all his legs turned out to be just fine lol. And we know by now that Kin's legs just run off on their own aimlessly, so this is probably what actually happened.
And this is how Strawhats find Kin. I guess Kinemon was still causing a lot of trouble despite being only a head. Maybe he tried to bite Law? Anyway, he must have been really *mad* to cut him up into that many tiny pieces. I think Kinemon was behaving like a little shit. It's important to mention Law never did that to anyone else before.
And he attempts to do the same to Tashigi who is also trying to bounce around while being cut in half.
Yeah, Kinemon and Law started off on a great note there. But I think Kin earned Law's respect for that, because this is probably what Kin shouted at him while being cut into smaller and smaller pieces:
And Law shoved his head into some closed off room, instead of giving it to Caesar. I think he was trying to spare him and hoping he can restore him back later on.
As soon as they both end up on Strawhats ship, Kinemon already treats Law with respect! It's no longer "that warlord" but "Law-dono".
It seems that despite what Kinemon says, Law actually earned his respect back there already. He even tried to catch his name or the title to know who he is.
It's so sweet he's already asking Law to give him a ride to Zou and before he can get an answer Luffy butts-in haha.
He's always listening carefully to Law's plan in Dressrosa and keeps closely with his assigned group. And yes, it's implied that Law was the one who strategically seperated the groups.
Kin is the first one to raise a concern to stick to the plan and not waste any time. He understands the stakes but won't venture off on his own, instead making sure the whole group knows what to do. That's because they left before Law finished going over the plan again. Kinemon took it on himself to make sure "they got the memo", so to speak.
Kin's also the one who seems most worried about Law, probably because when he almost rescued him he realized in what kind of terrible state he was. "Answer me!!" there is a lot of concern there he didn't show for any of the Strawhats yet, but he did for Law.
His idea to distract and cause some chaos by disguising himself was also something Law would approve of.
On Barto's ship Kin is already taking care of the dangers ahead of others, because he's aware his friends are still recoving from their injuries.
Kinemon never forgets that Strawhats and Law are in alliance and are two seperate crews. He asks Law specifically for help as well, clearly surprising him with that request. Kin's amazement seems to be very genuine and he is very polite in how he asks for help.
And then alliance happens, they bump fists together I bet Law must have braced himself for it and Luffy declares "Being in alliance means we're friends!". This is the moment Luffy defines what Kinemon and Law's relationship is supposed to be from now on: friendship. And of course Law is annoyed about that, it should be up to him to decide stuff like that! Luffy doesn't care though, pushing Law's boundaries further for him.
Law already takes on his role in the alliance, assuring Kin they will be safe in his submarine and no one will be able to suddenly attack them on his watch. Now this is a turn of 180 degrees, Law takes them as his own personal responsibility from now on, gives emotional reassurance and basically saying "count on me" but with different words. He already succumbed to the fate Luffy bestowed upon him.
And take a look at this. There is team Luffy, team Nekomamushi, Team Inuarashi and Team Kinemon. Do you know what that means? Yes, Law handed the leadership over the group to Kinemon! Meanwhile himself taking the role of a support and protection. And this trend will continue all the way in Wano as well.
Apparently he visited Kinemon at the castle ruins every single day. Most likely worried about his health condition.
Law apologized immediately to Kinemon the moment the other asks what's going on. Even takes the blame for himself, but also takes extra time to reassure Kin that his part of the plan is unaffected and no one knows about the samurais. I think it's implied again that it was Law who seperated the tasks in each group meanwhile taking a supervisor role himself. He told Kinemon to find Akazaya samurais and they had a whole operation going on in the background with gathering supplies of weapons and food, bit by bit, while officially putting the blame on some third party. Knowing Kinemon he wouldn't be smart enough to think of it this way, so Law at the very least helped him organize stuff. Besides we don't see Kinemon running around and making sure everything works out: that's Law actually, checking up with all the groups and resolving any potential crisis situations (like when he warned Sanji of trouble and took it on himself to lead the whole group to safety). Besides we have Sanji's words for proof when Law apologized to Kinemon: "What kind of shoddy operation are you running, Law?!" which is pretty direct in pointing out who the actual mastermind is behind the Wano's battle.
Seeing how Kin also wasn't the smartest at reading the coded picture message about the raid, I think it was originally Law's idea as well that the message should be some sort of code only people involved would understand. The raid picture also mentions meeting up at a port specifically, and that seems to be a reoccuring point plan in every of Law's plans ever since Rocky PORT Incident. Even in Dressrosa and Punk Hazard the chosen meeting points for all seperated groups were told to be specific ports.
When it turns out there was a traitor in the midst of their core team, it's Law who seems to have taken it on himself to dig up information from Hawkins. Interestingly enough every last samurai arrives for the raid despite that every single bridge in the country had been destroyed. I have no evidence but I think it's likely Law helped all those people travel to the "true" meeting spot. After all we didn't see him for days before the raid, and while many fans believed Law turned into a snitch, the raid itself denies it: Law was from the very beginning to the very end on the alliance's side. But then why didn't he take credit for what he did to make the raid a success? Well, he didn't take any credit at all before either, giving it all to Kinemon, so why would he start to take it for himself suddenly?
Here Law rescues the samurais, scolding them for underestimating the sea. Doesn't it look similar to you? Law is rising them up just like Oden did on his execution day. This symbolically proves Law is the actual person carrying the whole battle operation on his back. Just like his full name, Trafalgar Waterloo, should have hinted us all along. His reactions to all the others discussing what's happening are also very telling - Law's the only one not surprised that samurais aren't there yet, that there is a traitor, not even surprised that Kid is there. But he is taken aback about news of Big Mom and Jinbei, because that's some wild cards he didn't know anything about before.
Even though Law protests his submarine isn't samurais garrison, it's pretty clear who samurais themselves think runs their plan in reality. And worthy to notice here: Law no longer calls Kinemon by his full name. It's "Kin" from now on. And how many people did we ever see Law using such an affectionate name for before? With him you're either "something-ya" or a full name basis. Kin is literally the only exception. You can't see it as anything else but affectionate. Throughout Wano they became really close friends.
And of course Law saves Kinemon's skin by coming up with a backup plan on the fly and even decides he will carry the samurais to the back entrance of the island on his submarine. He also allows Kinemon to take the full credit, not really expecting any gratitude. He just sits there in the background, letting others take the spotlight.
And this is a good moment to remind us of what Sengoku told Law about love. It should be unconditional, which means you don't expect anything in return for your help. Law usually operates on "favour for a favour" basis or impersonal alliance level. But in this "alliance" he doesn't even want the credit, doesn't expect anything in return, and breaks his own rule of not calling people in affectionate ways. And does he even get anything for himself from this alliance besides the rise in his own bounty?
Imo there's only one possible conclusion here: Law accepted the condition of the alliance Luffy set up all the way back in Zou, it's supposed to be a friendship. Law indeed fullfilled that condition, he truly became friends with Kin. Of course he still wouldn't admit openly that they're friends, but like always with Law, we need to actually look at his actions and subtext. This friendship wouldn't have happened if friendship with Luffy didn't happen first! After the raid Law doesn't stay at the shogun's palace and instead stays with the ships at the port, but I bet you anything Kinemon ran to him at least once to tell him how grateful he was for his help.
So that's one confirmed friendship of Law we see in the series (besides the one he has with Luffy, but I elaborated on that one all the way back in part 2). The other friendships we can see in the series is that with Bepo, Penguin and Shachi, and Wolf in Law's novel. We know that Law created Hearts Pirates together with them, he doesn't consider Hearts to be his own creation, it's theirs as much as it's Law's. That friendship started off on a sour ground, Penguin and Shachi were bullying Bepo and Law saved him. But they quickly became friends and Law's strength and attitude earned their deepest respect. Penguin and Shachi sometimes allow themselves very cheeky comments ("Captain! You're so sexy now!"), they're also slightly older than him, but despite that they have really big respect for Law and always listen to him, despite sometimes complaining ("Captain got carried away" or "stop him Bepo!!"). They know each other well and as teens they spent a lot of late nights just talking together. They would sacrifice their lives for Law and Law would do the same for them, but he's also not beyond sending them to safety instead and taking all the risk on himself. They often shower Law in compliments, almost like they know he has low self-esteem, but then they know him for 13 years already, of course they would be best friends at this point and know that stuff about him (about his touching trauma probably as well).
Bepo is the only one privileaged with any physical affection, he is Law's safe haven, the last one he allowed himself to keep. The main Hearts also know of Law's past and his full name, as well as the fact he is a D. Of course they also started doing those silly power rangers-like poses when Law introduces his crew and I bet you anything it's a nod to Sora Warrior of the Sea. They're all fanboying the comics together. Law is probably slightly more affectionate with his Hearts than anyone else (which in this case means he allows himself to be a bit more open, but he still keeps some distance from them), but we can see he still acts like a leader for them, trying his best to earn the respect he received. But we also see him worrying about Bepo a lot in Wano when the mink ate a poisoned fish. He almost threw his own raid plan out of the window just because Bepo asked to not leave him alone; clearly they are his firstmost priority. Too bad we don't have that many of their interactions to analyze.
And then we have his friendship with the old man Wolf, inventor from North Blue, who took Law in (spoilers ahead for Law's novel!). At first their relations are mostly "favour for a favour" kind, something that Law knows well because he tends to operate on same basis. So, Law is allowed to stay at Wolf's place if he finds a job and helps with chores and testing the inventions. They take turns preparing the meals. Everything changes when Wolf has an unfortunate accident and Law saves his life. Wolf then asks for a friendship and Law thinks to himself that he can't really refuse a request from someone who doesn't usually do "friendships", he feels honoured with that trust. Wolf still acts as their mentor but it feels more like they became a family. Law is very grateful to Wolf for standing in defense of Penguin and Shachi. Wolf is also the one who teaches young Law how to be a captain and puts it into his head that he needs to take responsibility at all times. In general Wolf acts rather cold and rough, but always shows a kind heart when any of them needs it, and I bet Law took on his habits because that feels a lot like how Law himself acts on many occassions.
Wolf definitely became some sort of a rolemodel for him, but there were also few occassions when Law allowed himself to say some really spoiled and cheeky things to him (like: you do the dishes from now on). Law also helps Wolf make a tough decision: to resign from taking responsibility for his son's actions and not to kill him with his own hands, he literally stops his effort by saying "Family shouldn't kill each other". At the end Wolf gives them a partying gift: a yellow submarine, and encourages Law to go out to seas to look for freedom and experience life as he wants. Even 3 years later both of them think of each other fondly, implying that maybe one day Heart Pirates will return to share stories about their adventures.
That's all the canon provides us. Law generally keeps to himself, but in Law's novel he doesn't seem to have any problem to make friendships, every person he saves becomes eventually his friend, which really gives one more argument that there's no way Luffy would be the exception to that rule. But it becomes clear that the older Law gets the more reserved he becomes and doesn't seek out friendships. He probably wouldn't have perceived Kinemon as his friend if not for the condition of the alliance Luffy applied. And this begs to ask about the elephant in the room: why? Why is he that reserved and why did he allow himself to accept Kinemon as friend in the end? I think he felt it's okay to become friends with Kinemon, because he's a samurai thrugh and through. Even if they win and Kin lives, Law would leave Wano and probably never see him again. I guess that made the decision easier on him to some degree.
I have some ideas about possible reasons why Law avoids any new friendships or affectionate bonds with people and instead tries as much as he can to keep it impersonal. He clearly can be a caring and dedicated friend and I don't think his trauma is the only reason why he avoids people. Because there's no reason anymore (after defeating Doffy and Kaido) to not openly admit he made new friends. I will take a closer look at his possible reasons in the next post.
#one piece#trafalgar law#luffy#kinemon#law's light novel#one piece meta#next part will be probably the last one for now#at least till we get more new sources with Law#it will be exciting to confront my observations with some new appearances of Law#I mean I could do movies but they don't always stick with facts for example in Stampede Law carries Robin no problem#but other than that is only ever touched by Bepo and Chopper#seems he is 100% okay with touch from animals and minks#still movies are often inconsistent that's too bad because they're very fun#One Piece Red is great I could watch it over and over again#I still wonder what's up with Kinemon's legs running on it's own in Wano because I don't think we heard the true reason for that yet#I got some asks I promise I will get to them soon one is partially answered in this post#Law and PTSD#Law and friendships

🍓ー thank you for your patronage at the strawberry witch's bakery! here's your order!
requested by: @chibinasuu 🍓-> sanji + strawberry lemonade (secret relationship)
Punk Hazard is an inhospitable place.
It's been so for years even before Kuzan and Akainu's climate changing fight that permanently made the place the near-barren wasteland it is now. Here in the cold, freezing half of the country, the wind is biting and your fingers are numbingly slow. With your face pressed into the crook of Sanji's neck, you can't find it in yourself to care you forgot to wear your gloves.
It's Sanji.
Truly living and perfectly alright Black Leg Sanji of the Straw Hat Pirates.
The smell of cedarwood and vetiver have never smelled so sweet, you breathe in his scent once more in spite of the snot dripping from from your nose. Two years. Two long miserable years and you're finally touching one another.
It wasn't enough for Tashigi to tell breathlessly tell you that the Straw Hats had been spotted in the Sabaody Archipelago, descending to the depths to Fishman Island. You could only count the days that G5 could run into them. The Fates must have took pity on me, you sniffle, chuckling wetly as Sanji holds you closer to his chest.
Caesar Clown has been taken care of, the children are safe and for now, even if for a moment, pirates and marines can be allies. You won't delude yourself into thinking that even with this truce that your comrades will be understanding. It's more than a betrayal, isn't it? Even with that knowledge, you can't bring yourself to care.
Black Leg Sanji is alive and in your arms; that's all that matters. It doesn't matter that you're a marine and he's a pirate, sneaking behind the backs of your comrades and friends. It's alright if I'm selfish sometimes, right?
Right now you're not a marine and Sanji isn't a pirate. You're simply a person who is with a man you fell in love with two years ago in Loguetown.
You didn't have to pretend to be unphased by the destruction of the Straw Hats on Sabaody.
You didn't have to fight the urge to run straight into Sanji's arms midst the chaos of Caesar's lab.
You're simply a couple reuniting after much time apart at sea.
"I was so worried," you sniff, pressing your fingers as hard as you could into his back. You needed to make sure this wasn't a dream. You've waken up too many times from them in the past two years. You aren't sure you'd be able to survive another. "I didn't know if I'd ever see you again or-"
"I would have swum across the whole Grand Line to get back to you," Sanji insists softly in your ear. You thought you missed his voice enough but somehow it still feels as if you missed it more than you realized. If this moment never came, how long would it have taken you to forget it? What would you have forgotten first? "I'm a terrible lover. A true man doesn't make his partner cry anything but happy tears."
You laugh, haphazardly, "you can make me cry any tears you want as long as you don't disappear again."
Blue eyes look at you, appalled, as Sanji pulls far enough to see your face. Never enough to leave your hold on him. "I'm never making you cry again at all!"
You snort in amused disbelief, "I thought happy tears were alright."
Sanji's shoulders relax, another smile spreading across his face, "happy tears are always fine." Despite his words, his hands move to wipe away the tears that won't stop falling. After a heartbeat, the smile falters. "I'm not sure I'll be able to leave you again."
You wince at the reminder, glancing at a nearby snowbank. You're not foolish enough to believe this will last moment will last forever. "We'll have private calls," you offer weakly. Calls that will, you bite your bottom lip. Not be enough. There's not enough time in the day to be together when once again you'll have to become enemies, even if superficially.
Sanji attempts to smile something crooked, "Luffy's an idiot but he's a good captain. "It's been an unspoken rule of yours in the past ー no attempting to sway one another the other's end of the spectrum. If either of you wanted the life the other was part of, you would have gone that route ages ago. After two years apart, however, Sanji's pleading tone does something painful to your heart. "It would be nice having you on the ship, even if for a little while. They'd believe you if you said you were captured by pirates. Then you could go back… if you wanted."
Your fingers twitch, pulse rising. The offer of a lifetime.

Guys, can we stop saying things like "Zoro can't stand that Tashigi looks like Kuina" when talking about post-timeskip One Piece?
Because not only that never happened in their interactions on Punk Hazard, but it literally contradicts something the author and official material have been saying since the timeskip:
"Zoro doesn't call Tashigi 'copycat' anymore"
Source: Oda's notes to Ei Andoh in One Piece Party 1, 2014
"The way Zoro saw Tashigi 2 years ago was 'Copycat woman', but now she's 'Captain glasses'"
Source: Zoro's relationships chart from One Piece magazine 18
Tashigi looking like Kuina never mattered at all, and I'm tired of seeing people still bringing this up. It's a very simplistic view of the characters, still reducing them to their very first encounter when there's actually been an evolution throughout the story.

knowing [5/8]
Summary: Sanji knew you were the one the moment he met you.
Pairing: Sanji x Reader
Warnings: None really. Normal One Piece stuff I guess.
Note: I love Dressrosa, Sanji got to go on a date lol. But obviously things are different here. ;) This one is also a little shorter, I wasn't sure what to do with this, but I'm fairly happy with it. Next week will be much longer! And on time I swear omg.

[Ch. 1] ● [Ch. 2] ● [Ch. 3] ● [Ch. 4]
With the events of Fishman Island behind you, arriving on Punk Hazard, you drew straws with everyone willing to venture to the burning side of the island, being one to join Luffy, Zoro, Robin, and Usopp to scope the place out. You promised Sanji you’d be fine, you’d stick by Zoro even thought Sanji didn’t like that either, he knew you trusted Zoro as much as you trusted him. You knew Sanji would be fine taking care of the rest of your crewmates, even when you make it to the frozen side of the island and see things have gone a bit awry, as your friends are now all swapped around thanks to one Warlord.
“Okay, okay,” you looked between the four as Usopp took out a notepad and pencil to keep things straight, “So, Franky is in Chopper’s body.”
“Super right, buddy!”
“And, Chopper is in Sanji’s body.”
Sanji, or, well, Chopper nodded, starting to cling onto you which felt weird even though it was your boyfriend’s body it was Chopper’s mind.
“Nami is in Franky’s body.”
Nami-Franky was nearly in tears, poor Nami crying over not being herself.
“And…” You looked over the to the last member of your crew, smiling when see they aren’t looking at you, “Sanji is in Nami’s body.”
Slight nod, you nearly laughed at the whole situation, while everyone was wondering how to fix it. You weren’t sure you knew the answer, but thought Trafalgar Law was your only way of getting the whole thing fixed.
You all take to just calling your swapped friends by their names, you taking a seat by Sanji and patting his back while he kept his head in his hand, not having fully looked at you since you showed up. Being in Nami’s body must’ve been a lot for him to take in, especially considering his relationship with you.
“We’ll get you back to normal, Sanji. It’ll be okay.”
He stayed quiet for several moments, before finally turning to give you a hug that you returned.
“It’s probably weird,” Sanji said while almost burrowing into your shoulder, “but I just need a minute, I’ll be fine…”
“I know, I know.”
It was a little weird, to hear his voice coming from Nami, but for the time being, you’d have to accept it. It wouldn’t change anything about your relationship, it was only temporary. Even when Sanji left with Zoro and Brook to go after the torso-less Kin’emon, you stayed with the rest of your crew, helping calm the withdrawal suffering and mostly giant children, as Luffy and Franky ran to save Nami from whoever snatched her thinking she was Franky.
Once Luffy and the others return, with Trafalgar Law at their side, and an alliance planned thanks to Luffy not stopping to ask anyone else. You were all for it, making Nami mostly yell at you after she was swapped into Sanji’s body.
Nami in Sanji’s body was even weirder than the other swaps, but it felt stranger when Nami hugged you as she cried over now being in your boyfriend’s body instead of her own. You looked over at Law, giving him a slight glare that he returned.
“What?”
“I kind of hate you right now.”
You were glad later that day when Law finally switched the two back. Sanji was so happy that the second he got the chance, he hugged you so tightly before running off to help Tashigi and the other Marines while you went on with Nami and the others to help Chopper stop the children from getting the spiked candy.
“I’m glad for you and Sanji,” Nami made a slight face that caused you to laugh, “But thank God I’m back in my body, I didn’t want you guys being weird while we were swapped.”
“Don’t worry, don’t worry!! All we did was hug!”
“Still weird.”
Robin smiled hearing your conversation and the near cackle you let out at Nami’s reaction.
Personally, she was just glad Franky wasn’t in Chopper’s body anymore.
+!+
“That little brat.”
“Sanji. He’s a child.”
“He knows what he’s doing.”
You fought back a laugh at the scowl on Sanji’s face while Momonosuke, one of the children you’d helped rescue from Punk Hazard with his father Kin’emon, slept on your lap. Of course, you knew the child had a bit of a bias towards women, whether because he didn’t have his mother or because of perverted reasons, you didn’t want to know really. You preferred to just view him like your little brothers, someone who needed some comfort and attention.
“He reminds me of my youngest brother,” You smiled a bit, watching Momonosuke while Sanji watched you still, “He was four when I left home, I felt awful cause he was crying and holding onto my leg so tightly…I almost stayed.”
“Yeah?”
Nodding, you looked over and gave Sanji a smile that he returned. “He was the baby before the new one my mom was pregnant with, we really thought he was going to be the last one.”
“There are nine of you now?”
“Yep.”
Sanji quietly nodded, turning back to his dinner prep and trying to decide if he should say something else, before finally doing so.
“I’m…one of five.”
“…really?”
“Mm,” Sanji knew you were just watching his back, he was still trying to word things, that was the second thing he’d ever told you about his family, the first being his mother’s name, “I have one older sister…and three brothers, two older and one younger. My brothers and I were quadruplets.”
Your eyes widened and you had the sudden fear of having quadruplets yourself, before Sanji, who turned around to see your fear, quickly calming you down by saying his parents had help and there was no record of natural multiples of that many in his family line, you were safe. At the most you could have twins one day, but even that was rare.
Once Sanji had talked you down from running away with a million bunny trails, he sat beside you and watched Momonosuke sleep.
“I guess he’s kind of cute.”
“Kids are always cute when they sleep.”
The three of you are quiet for a bit, Sanji thinking of different things while watching you and Momonosuke. He wondered if you wanted to be a mom one day, do you actually want kids with him? He’d heard you and Nami talking about the kids from Punk Hazard, how you wanted to help them and the soft spot you both had for children. Having watched you the last couple days, on your trip to Dressrosa, as you spent time with Momonosuke and helped care for him, it made him want to have children with you so much sooner than you probably should or could.
Of course, he wanted to marry you first, but he had decided you would be a wonder mother one day, if that was what you wanted.
Luffy nearly broke into the kitchen a few moments later, shouting that you’d all arrived at Dressrosa, and it was time to get off the ship.
You had already been enlisted by Law to come with him to help hand over Caesar to Doflamingo, which Sanji didn’t particularly like as he was supposed to stay on Sunny with Nami, Chopper, Momonosuke, and Brook. While he trusted Law as an ally, the way you two seemed to be hanging out more and getting closer, it made Sanji a little jealous to see, but he was trying to push it aside after you’d forgiven him for his indiscretions with seeing the mermaids on Fishman Island.
He didn’t want to do anything to lose you.
+!+
"Hey, come with me, moss head."
Zoro didn't have a chance to argue with Sanji about going elsewhere before the blond pulled him into a store by his sleeve. He didn't even get to see what kind of shop he'd been dragged into, what if it was a place he didn't want to be? Once he did see it was a jewelry store, Zoro grumbled to himself about how stupid of a place this was for him to be, he didn't need anything more. His three earrings were more than enough. Why did Sanji even want to be here?
"Hey, what the hell are we doing here?"
"Shut up for a minute." Sanji growled out a bit, before turning back to the store clerk and handing the man a ring, asking to see anything in that size. Once the clerk brought over several rings that matched, Sanji started looking at them closely while Zoro watched him for a few minutes.
He finally had a thought about what Sanji was doing, but there was no way right?
He definitely wasn't doing what Zoro thought he was doing, despite his mumbling to himself about what was too gaudy or too ugly for you.
"What are you doing, curly brow?"
Stopping for a second, Sanji held a small ring in his hand before he looked at Zoro.
"I want to ask [Y/N] to marry me. I don't know when yet, but I want to do it soon."
He really was doing exactly what Zoro thought he was doing. Sanji was trying to choose an engagement ring for you. He'd probably only dragged Zoro into the shop with him so the swordsman wouldn't get lost, but the fact he even told Zoro what was doing was a surprise. You had gone with Law, Robin, and Usopp to hand off Caesar to Doflamingo if all went well, so there was no chance of you randomly walking in and finding out about this before he was ready to ask.
Sanji had known for a while that he wanted to marry you. If you all hadn't separated for two years, he believed he would have asked much sooner, but he also knew things would work out the way he hoped and planned either way. Whether he asked tomorrow or in another year, he felt certain you'd say yes. After watching you with Momonosuke since he and Kin’emon had joined you all, he knew his decision to ask you was going to be the right one, he knew you were going to be a great mother to whatever children you may have in the future.
Zoro was surprised Sanji hadn't asked you to marry him yet. He saw the gross, lovesick look the chef always gave when you were around him, the far off look in his eyes when he'd watch you spending time with someone else on the ship, and even the tiniest bit of visible jealousy as you spoke with Law about the plans he had for you all in Dressrosa. He knew you were the same way, lovesick looks when Sanji wasn't paying attention, you'd told Zoro many things that he didn't need or want to hear about how you loved the blond, and the way you'd be the first to offer to help clean and wash dishes after dinner.
There were even the few moments Zoro would catch you two on the deck, against the railing. Sanji would have an arm around you, leaning in to whisper whatever he had to say, which more often than not would make you blush and giggle a bit, doing the same to keep your conversation private. Zoro couldn't hear the likely gross, lovey-dovey things you were saying to each other to elicit such reactions, and he didn't want or need to know.
If your relationship was out in the open for everyone to know about, Zoro could only imagine how gross you two would be.
"Surprised you haven't asked her yet."
"Yeah well," Sanji handed the ring he'd chosen to the clerk, who walked off to get it rang up while he took a drag from his cigarette, "Things have been moving so quickly lately we've barely had time alone as it is."
"You gonna ask her once this is done with?"
Taking the bag once he'd paid for the ring, Sanji shook his head while he and Zoro left the jewelry store. "No, I don't think so. I want to ask at the right moment."
"Better not make her wait forever," Zoro smirked a bit, but he knew Sanji wasn't going to take too much longer to pop the question to you, "Who knows, she might fall for Traffy if you do."
"Don't joke about that, you lame ass moss head!"
+!+
Dressrosa was freed in a day, you were glad when the birdcage came down and knew Luffy had taken down Doflamingo, finally. Your part was to help the townspeople after you worked with Robin and Usopp to stop Sugar’s Devil Fruit powers, having run off after your call with Luffy’s group and Sanji’s on the Sunny. Despite your concern for your friends, you were also worried for the regular people who had no part in the whole ordeal. Even with Marines around you tried to be sneaky, as a kunoichi should be, and slip around to help anyone who needed it, but especially the children that had been separated from their parents or other family members. Every moment and reunion made you miss your own parents and siblings, but also made you grateful to have the chance to make a difference in someone else’s life.
After your few days of rest in Kyros’ home and quick escape from the kingdom, you were glad to he back on a ship, even if it wasn’t the Sunny, returning to water made you even happier than you would’ve expected it to, even though it had only been a few days.
Much of your time during your trip to Zou was spent with Robin and Law, Zoro noticed. Or course you’d be near to Robin, she was like the big sister you never had, but Law was a surprise. He didn’t seem like the kind of person you’d be drawn to, let alone friends with, but maybe there was something else going on.
He was joking when be told Sanji you could go after Law if the blond tool too long to propose to you, it wasn’t a real thought in his mind at the time.
Eventually you tale a break from everyone and go to Zoro, sitting beside him and leaning into his arm, which makes him nod towards Law and Robin.
“What’s going on there?”
“Oh, I was just getting an idea of Traffy’s plan. He’s really got things all figured out.”
“Not what I meant.”
Tilting your head, you look back to them, before realizing what Zoro meant and feeling your face heat up.
“Oh. Oh! No, no, no, Zoro, nothing like that!”
“Look just cause the cook isn’t here and you’re still a secret doesn’t mean—”
“Zoro. Trust me. Law is cool and all that, but I’m not attracted to him. Sanji’s the only one for me.”
Zoro shrugged a bit, going back to his drink your interrupted him from. He does believe you, he’d been watching and the look in your eyes while you talked to Law, it wasn’t at all like the one you have when you look at Sanji. That look you have when you’re in love with someone, completely smitten and enthralled by them, you’ve only ever given that look to Sanji ever since you met.
“You’ll be back with your weird boyfriend soon.”
Giggling, you nod and close your eyes, just thinking about seeing Sanji again.
See you in Zou, Sanji.

the end of punk hazard arc was rlly so good and interesting,
beside the obvious- law being slowly included in the strawhat's shenanigans,

and zoro and the rest of the crew finally learning about their new alliance and future plans,

but
then the whole two last chapters- with doflamingo reaching the punk hazard island once the strawhats were gone and going after smoker and the navy guys,
and Aokiji (!!) suddenly showing up at last second to stop doffy from killing smoker, bc "he's an old friend"

which then they have a short fight about it, until doffy realizes it wasn't a fight they should be having at that moment

and then once again a conversation in one piece brings up the topic of people meeting at the right time because of fate or destiny! (insane about it)
(also smoker, minutes after his near-death: already smoking again. it's always so funny.)

"why are you here?" "to see you."
sure, a completely normal thing to say.

"how did you know i'd be here?"
"I'm just me... smoker."
okayy what's the history there? 👀
#this is insane!! what did they put in this arc#why is this arc literally so gay??#whatever sanji had going on with gender (that wasnt brought up much but hey. i can read into it. its more fun this way. hes so not cis)#the yeti cool brothers being about franky (who was actually nami) like: is he queer? thats cool.#then nami being so gay for 'strong but gentle lady sailors' (tashigi)#and now whatever this is askdjs#mine#gif:op manga#smoker#smoker one piece#aokiji#kuzan#kuzan one piece#aokiji one piece#smoker x aokiji#smoker x kuzan#one piece ch 698-699#punk hazard arc#long post

Your Thoughts on dating Zoro? Would he fall for women or men? Thinking about popular ships like Zoro x Sanji or Zoro x Robin/Tashigi/Hyiori? ❤️❤️❤️
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Roronoa Zoro Thoughts: Emotional Intelligence and Ability To Date
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Tw guys my opinion don’t hate me☝️
Okay so ima explain my understanding of Zoro’s character and his possibility of being romantically involved with another person and then my thoughts on Zoro’s popular ships.
To me, Zoro is a physical representation of a protector, a predator, and loyalty (and death but that’s not fully realized). He prioritizes the safety of the people important to him, burdens himself to evolve into a stronger swordsman for the people close to him, and sees more value in actions rather than words.
He used to be someone that was living for himself, until Kuina. Then he was living for his shared promise to become the greatest swordsman, until Luffy. Until Thriller Bark, Sabaody, and his exile in Muggy Kingdom. Now he lives for his crew, to ensure Luffy’s dream and through Luffy achieving his dream Zoro will achieve his own (plus him actually having another duel with Mihawk). Yk what I’m saying? He still has a goal, but it has changed to encompass the Strawhats as a whole with a special bond towards Luffy.
There’s this tiktok editing account called ._avxmvx_ and they have such good edits that I feel like speak for Zoro’s character- just a side note hehe
••
Okay guys, me personally, I don’t see Zoro being interested in dating. It’s not anywhere near the top of his list in canon. Plus he’s sort of the newest addition to the characters that embody death in One Piece and he has that whole ‘walking Asura’s path’ thing going on.
Although I do like reading about/the dynamic of Zoro with a person that is either the representation of a higher being (ie, Luffy being the god Nika through his devil fruit yk smth like that) or of things associated with gods (example being person with relations/undertones of say wine, grapes, floral, earthy colors, with a personality summed up in a few words as indulgent, capricious, joyous, and fiendish because all of these things are alluded to the Greek god Dionysus.)
Zoro being paired with someone with religious and spiritual energy and ties is something I personally enjoy because Zoro is a character that is morally grey, has no belief in a higher being, has accepted damning himself for the sake of others, and actually has in canon relationships that have religious implications (guys Luffy and Zoro trust me bro)
I like dynamics like those paired with Zoro because I think it’s something that challenges his way of viewing the world when he’s surrounded by someone that encompasses a higher influence that’s not attainable by people but it’s not forcing him change yk??
••
Zoro is also a character with a stunted emotional understanding and capacity for empathy in my opinion.
I say this because of his parent’s death at an early age, a heavy training focused childhood, the death of his only close friend, and the isolation of his teenage years when he left Shimotsuki village up until he met Luffy.
This isn’t to say that he doesn’t feel emotion and can’t joke around (pre time skip funny Zoro come back to me pls) but overall I think it’s easier for Zoro to not engage with others on a highly emotional level and in emotional situations Zoro is most comfortable looking at things rationally as best he can without adding subjectiveness onto the situation (think Water 7, his opposition to Usopp rejoining the crew without properly apologizing and atoning.)
Zoro also actively tries to squash his feelings imo which is kinda sad. (Think how in drum island he tells himself to squash instincts and so now he’s not shown to be cold even in punk hazard and the beginning of egghead he was just toughening it out.)I think he does this because his mind associates the best swordsman with strength and not being influenced by your surrounding.
Which is why I think Mihawk is the reason for his stoicism post timeskip.
Now, this relates back to his ability to be with someone romantically because it probably wouldn’t be easy for him to. Especially not emotionally. It probably would be uncharted territory for him and if he wanted it his partner would have to work with him and teach him and build up his ability to understand others emotions and the ability to sympathize/empathize.
••
Now, gender wise, I actually can’t give you a clear answer on what I think Zoro’s preference would be. I feel like Zoro’s preference is more of a scale that looks at character traits and actions rather than identity and appearance.
In all honesty, I could see Zoro having an easier time becoming involved with a man rather than a woman. I don’t have much reasoning for it though, it’s just a feeling.
Perhaps his comfortability in his masculinity? Maybe because of how obviously dense he is when it comes to women? Maybe his past relationships of Saga and Kuina? Idk
••
So, in canon Zoro being in a relationship is a no go imo. (Edit: asexual man) Now let’s discuss my thoughts on Zoro’s popular ships.
I don’t ship Zoro with anyone, however I do appreciate the dynamics of some of his ships because I view them as something deeper than romance.
To me, a lot of Zoro’s ships are understood as a soulmate- you feel right in my life and I want to be around you type of way I’ll protect you no matter how bloody the future is- not a -I really like you I wanna kiss you and have sex with you and you can talk to me all about your feelings about the world- type of way
Not saying that the ladder can’t or isn’t presented in fandom media, it is just something that I don’t prioritize seeing in Zoro ships.
••
Zoro x Luffy: I appreciate Zoro x Luffy again in a more subservient dynamic.
(Omg I saw a post like a year ago saying smth about how Zoro is Luffy’s in a way none of the other strawhats are because he hasn’t ever betrayed or left the crew and out of the romance dawn crew he’s the only one that hasn’t done so ugh I wish I could find the creator I’d love to tag them)
I like exploration on how devoted Zoro is to Luffy and I do think that they have a bond that is deeper than just friends or captain and first mate.
But I wouldn’t call it romantic or sexual. It is natural, it is inherent and instinctual, it is almost religious imo
I also don’t think that Luffy is interested in dating.
Because of this, I do think that the ship works in certain ways. (u understand what I’m saying?)
••
Zoro x Sanji: I feel like this has potential as a ship but there’s things that need to happen before yk.
First, Sanji needs to acknowledge and heal through his trauma. Of his childhood, guilt, body, Germa, and especially his relationship/perspective of men, masculinity, and women.
I think Zoro could help him through it, if they ever talked about it. But I doubt they would. At least not explicitly. Maybe roundabout but something so minimal the implications could be lost easily on either of them.
But Zoro’s lack of emotional understanding is also called into play here. This is something that Sanji is very good at. He’s emotionally aware and attune to those around him. They are opposites in this way. But pairing them together isn’t good imo in a ship way. Yk?
I like the ship dynamic in how they complete each other in different ways. I read a post before about Zoro’s association with the number three and Sanji’s representation of the number three. Sanji’s humanity compared with Zoro’s brutalism or strength. They are strong in different ways. They are vital to the crew in different ways.
They work as a duo more than a ship to me though. I don’t see them romantic, I don’t see them sexual, but I do see them as sort of kindred flames or something of soulmates.
They belong in each other’s world and they do need each other but they won’t admit it. Yk?
••
Zoro x Robin: guys no.
I’m sorry but I just don’t support this ship at allllllll.
I do understand the evidence that Zorobin shippers bring up. They are alike, they do have a good dynamic, they respect each other, they are vital to the crew, but it’s just mid.
I feel like I don’t like it that much because regardless of Zoro’s loyalty to Robin as shown, Zoro doesn’t really interact with her fondly. Yk? Like I don’t remember seeing them just kinda chit chat for a second. There’s always something that is the catalyst for them to interact as far as I understand.
I also don’t think that Zoro is the best significant other for Robin. He isn’t what Robin would want nor need.
I say this due to his emotional intelligence, his aloof personality overall, and his dedication to training. I also say this because of Robin’s intellectualism, childhood experience, and personality. I feel like Franky is just so much better for her (sorry guys rip Frobin from my dead body.)
••
Zoro x Tashigi: I do not see this as a ship. I don’t like it particularly as a ship either.
I liked Tashigi and Zoro’s first dynamic when they first interacted with each other in Loguetown when Tashigi and Smoker were originally introduced.
The way that Tashigi was a female swordsman that looked just like Kuina, Zoro’s dead friend. The way that this made Zoro uncomfortable and he couldn’t handle it.
I loved it. I thought it was so interesting for Zoro’s character. I wish they kept it in post timeskip because it would’ve changed their behavior (or at least Zoro’s) towards each other in Punk Hazard.
I feel like this also ties into Zoro’s emotional capacity as well because he understands why he’s uncomfortable but he doesn’t try to change it- he only ever tries to run from her and increase their distance.
So, I don’t see nor support this as a ship, but I liked it a lot when Zoro was uncomfortable around Tashigi.
••
Zoro x Kuina: I do not view this as a ship either.
I think that Kuina was best as Zoro’s friend and the added complexity of romantic feelings at such a young age plus her death is just a lot. It’s a lot for Zoro.
I also don’t feel like it suits Zoro either. Loving her like that would better suit and origin story for Sanji ykwim?
Plus I like how Kuina was his goal and it intentionally wasn’t romantic. I liked the friendly deep connection between two swordsman.
I also don’t think that Kuina would have viewed Zoro like that even if she properly grew up.
••
Zoro x Hiyori: Hmmmmmmmm.
I kinda have mixed feelings about this one.
At first I didn’t like it. I didn’t understand why Hiyori liked Zoro and to be honest I still don’t.
The only reason I really see is because he wasn’t attracted to her and protected her physically. Plus he’s a strong swordsman like her father.
I actually really really like Hiyori’s character, but I feel like it might’ve been a mistake to add her feelings towards Zoro into Wano by Oda. But I do really like how she didn’t necessarily act on it. Sure, she had some damsel in distress moments and did flirt with him, but she kept her priorities straight and helped free Wano.
I really respect her for that. I wish that more female characters were done properly like her.
Zoro also clearly showed no interest towards her. The most he cared for in relation to her in my opinion was her father, Oden, her brother, Momonosuke, and the blade Enma.
Zoro also wouldn’t be willing to have feelings for her. She isn’t a part of the Strawhats and has no future with them. She isn’t hugely impactful towards the Strawhats as a whole. His loyalty wouldn’t ever be able to be in two places at once like it would be if he loved her yk??
I like Hiyori, I like Zoro, but I don’t like them together
So. The ship is okay I guess. I don’t ship it and I don’t support it however. I also don’t ever see it happening in canon. I also think Hiyori wouldn’t like Zoro if she really got to know him and would be better with a different person.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Heheh this was nice to write about I enjoy Zoro’s character. Kinda long too
Thanks for reading

Law has a coat for every day of the week is out-cunting Caesar in his own home Monet has designs on his virtue looks like something from Tron: Legacy and that's a plus had a whole new wardrobe designed before going to Punk Hazard fishnet turtleneck because he's a slut
Robin she has the fur bottom coat had insect designs put on it for Luffy is breaking all the sumptuary laws has a matching hat and muff not pictured: the head of the fox on her right shoulder (it's fox fur) designs are made from actual gold thread the tail of the fox is her muff fabulous and knows it yes, those are Chanel boots
Perona is at her and Zoro's farewell party @Mihawk's Mihawk made the dress is the best dressed there (by default) is about to drag Zoro's outfit for filth dress has a matching caplet is currently giving an interview and just called Mihawk old
Tashigi arriving to G-5 is about to eat shit in those heels jacket is her fave part of the outfit marine color scheme ying yang earrings (gift from smoker) not pictured: the marines on either side of her making sure she doesn't fall jet-lagged (ship-lagged?) not sure how she feels about the stockings bag is full of Smoker's cigars (probably)
Kuzan/Akoiji post Punk Hazard (not a marine) marine clasp worn ironically immediately got out the jeans and beanie after the ass-beating those jeans are designer and cost more than your life giving princess leia vibes with the caplet and hair he's tired
Kuzan/Akoiji pre Punk Hazard (marine) running away from the paparazzi is about to ditch the entire outfit he held the title of "Best-Dressed Marine" for two weeks because of this outfit the seventies called they want him to come visit man has got the go-go boots on under those pants

Pausing my op marathon so I can watch the movies and other shows while the current arc keeps going 🫡🫡
#also wano was such a thing.... like so well constructed.... so much background.... can't believe i am nearly caught up. this is insane#i am like 2 months too soon. i thought i was gonna spend the whole uni year watching it. well.....#i think dressrosa was good but at the same time luffy doesn't have the connection to the people of the island he has in wano or others...#it is mostly law's story that pulls you in and that's good but i love me my luffy so wano and what they did to get to gear 5.... too good#just saying shit at this point... retrospective i guess....#gyojin island was great to me bc it was mostly lore and i loved the end with jinbe#and shirahoshi and luffy were too good together. rude little man and a big ass scared siren. incredible showstopping#punk hazard was too funny. had a blast and law was a menace... also tashigi my friend tashigi... and smoker....#wci was emotional to say the least. luffy suffered more than jesus but somehow sanji cried more which i loved to see....#NOW i would have liked for wano to be zoro's story too... which kinda was but i wish he had important relationships with people that are not#luffy or his swords you know. but tashigi wasn't there and i think she is central to where his character is going so. i will wait i guess...#goodbye my sweet darlings.... buggy is waiting for me in the title screen of the next episode but i have to say goodbye for now....#i will see you in your non canon movies.... farewell.....#fuck i have exams next week... this is so bad for my op marathon stats.....#talking tag#watching one piece

omg I saw ur Cora lives au, and love it! are u writing a fic? I’m wondering how punk hazard would go w him there, bc u said in Dressrosa he might fight Jora. in punk hazard I think he could fight Vergo! 1st Corazon vs 2nd Corazon, in a rematch of Minion- good way to show how he’s grown in strength from so long ago, and also to show how scary protective he can get, saving Law from Vergo! U just got me thinkin out loud!
Omg thank you! And no, I wish I could write well enough to make a fic! What you’ve got here is pretty good tho, so if you wanted to write it out, anon, I would support you!!
For SCKAP AU, I’ve got Cora and the Hearts separated (willingly) a lil after Sabaody - when Law starts making moves to grab the Warlord title. So only after Punk Hazard, when Rosie updates their dad, does Cora make his way to Dressrosa.
I quite like how the Smoker + Law vs Vergo fight goes so I wanted to keep it close to canon in that regard (I’ve got Rosie + Tashigi vs Monet and Delly + Franky vs Buffalo and prob an OC or two…to make up for poaching Baby and Del…)
The Giolla/Cora fight in my head would be after the actual fight winds down (so Luffy is unconscious + large marine presence) Like Giolla breaks out and chases Cora down and the marines kinda let it happen bc
1. That tall guy’s with Straw Hat and Issho was pretty clear about leaving them alone for now
2. That’s super funny to watch
So, more of a chase with verbal fighting haha
#vibrantask.png#SCKAP AU#Scary Protective Dad Cora comes when he’s facing down his brother in this AU#might sprinkle it in more actually - expect a drawing sometime later#and now u have me thinking out loud too - Buffalo and Cora reconciliation pending too
