seeing all the absolutely MESSY love square potential for the ilitw crew in the redfieldmc route and grinning bc at this point in time everyone is basically at the same level as eo. i have a playthrough for EVERY ilitw LI in the redfieldmc route except for connor (i love him however i personally do not want to experience his nerve going down and potentially dying or worse bc of ilwmc pushing the noahmc agenda. living vicariously through other people's screenshots for that one 😳 also i am using that save option JUDICIOUSLY bc of this i am now on page SIXTY 💀) and i have a mental ranking of each one of them based the criteria of what the FUCK they're doing to bring mc back. noah unsurprisingly is number 1. ava was the sole second but then dan came in with the steel chair so NOW they're tied. lucas andy and stacy are all tied for third and im mentally poking them with a stick to do SOMETHING bc they WILL end up getting their bf/gf stolen at this rate. im manifesting a last minute big showing for them next chapter bc if they don't. oh my girl WOULD get their ass for not even doing the bare minimum (and in stacy's case. it's even worse. her BROTHER did more for her love than she did 💀 dan deserves to steal her girl fr with the amount of research he apparently did – that lucas BETTER have joined in on in his route i can't have my main man slacking like this 😭). i would make all of them have an endgame (which makes it three for each playthrough. one for the LI one for noah and one for dan. stem prepped me to categorize everything meticulously but good god. i would have over two hundred saves by the end of this — not even considering the abel/mc/lincoln hoe route, the abelmc matthiasmc route that would be SO messy i have no idea why no one is mentioning the betrayal in this case bc abel ADORES this man and he goes in like a dilf and goes for the person they're falling for like hello? 😬 and the lincolnmc matthiasmc route that would simply be the definition of explosive. the clean routes i have for each LI are already part of the first sets i started bc i am in love with them but damn. i need an excel chart to keep up 💀) but their rankings would be the basis of whether or not i would go full throttle on the angst for their secondary route before i let them resolve things in a narratively satisfying manner (while ilbmc is simply living their best life and ilwmc also if she's not dodging the hoe allegations. ilitwmc poster child for why you should NEVER be so awesome that almost half ur friend group is in love with you at any given time 💀). mc choosing someone at the end of this unexpected ilitw bachelor would make my heart hurt for the other two losers but i KNOW i would be enjoying it the whole time alongside the main ilwmc romances. ilitw gang best friend group of all time i love them so much which is why i cannot help but put them in situations. this got absolutely lengthy and actually longer than some of my assignment answers but i wanted to cover all my bases so sorry for the one who gets to read this wall of text i simply got so excited 😁 this story lives rent free in my mind and whatever happens i cant wait to see how it would turn out for everybody in the cast it's been an honor playing your game 🥰❣️
PS: when i saw the dan romance option the image of redfieldmc's LI kicking noah's ass while dan sneaked in with his steel chair and stolen mc right under their noses went to mind 😭 the other two were all pikachu face it was hysterical. i cant WAIT for the absolute mess redfieldmc's love life is going to be. their staying power (which is especially miraculous given yt fmc's looks. asian fmc face ure pretty and my baby girl but black fmc outpaces you in the face card department) is UNMATCHED
LMFAOOOOOO this is so 😭😭😭 first of all PAGE 60 on SAVES???? u are so brave idk how you filter through all of that😭 also yeah the ilitw drama is very eh hem,,, dramatic!!?!! but i’m glad ur enjoying it!!! and im sure you’ll like the next chapter very much ! for reasons i will not say hehe 🤭
(ps im glad u see my vision🤭🖤)

Something Familiar
Chapter 2: Lessons in Good Faith Tw: PTSD and mentions of torture and death
Living with Daniel was a lesson in many things. A lesson in patience, trust, and it was a constant trial in checking is biases. Daniel was one of the few good humans, and Silas’s fear still ran unchecked. He knew it would take time to work through all of his baggage, and that Daniel was willing to wait. The thing was that Silas wanted to trust him, but couldn’t because there was still too much in the way. Daniel had even given him space after they sealed the contract. Silas bore the mark of it on the inside of his left wrist. A small circle of red, yellow, and blue lining. Daniel had the same on his left wrist as well. It marked them as equals, but it still felt like imprisonment to Silas. He was grateful for the week alone though. It gave him time to get used to his human shape again. He spent a lot of his time on the upstairs balcony watching the world go by with out him. Being outside like this was something he hadn’t been able to do for years. He would have preferred to change shape and wander, maybe even fly; but he was still on the mend and under strict orders not to shift unless it was an emergency. Daniel wasn’t here to stop him. He could have run away, and yet he stayed. Like a good Familiar.
When Daniel came back Silas’s private moments gained a witness, and his nightmares gained an exit. Daniel was always gentle when he woke Silas. He made sure he was genuinely awake and then let him come back to the real world on his own. He would offer to listen and Silas would always turn him down. There were nights that were worse. Nights when he didn’t dream, but remembered. The sleep he got was always more restful on those nights, but waking up always hurt worse. He woke up buried under the weight of all the things he should have done; could have done if he was a better person. On these mornings the only thing he wanted was space to think. So he would quietly make himself coffee and head up to the balcony. Daniel always came up eventually, and he usually brought breakfast with him. He would set the tray down on the small glass table and take a moment to observe Silas. He never said was he was looking for, but Silas assumed he found it because he would go back inside after a while. As a healer it wasn’t in Daniel’s nature to leave things alone, but he seemed to understand that Silas needed time to himself every once in a while. It was something Silas was grateful for. Someday he would let Daniel in, he deserved to know what he had gotten stuck with.
He woke suddenly from a dead sleep and sighed. He could still see Connor clearly in his mind, the fear in his eyes as they were separated almost felt accusing now. He should have stayed. He should have done a lot of things, but he was a coward and ran away instead. Silas got up with a practiced silence and started on his coffee. The house was still dark, but he had the kitchen layout memorized. By the time his coffee was ready he could use the early rays of dawn to make it up to the balcony. Today was going to be long and painful. He leaned against the front railing of the balcony to watch the sunrise and let his thoughts run loose with him. If he got it out of his system now, then maybe he could be something close to composed by the time Daniel came up to check on him. So for now, he would let himself remember. They were good things at first. His childhood, play fighting with his brothers. Learning the importance of the ancient magic they carried with them. The rush of freedom that came from knowing a thought was all it took to become any creature he wanted. The sacred bind that came with choosing a patron mage. There was a complexity that came with choosing to be a Familiar. It was a bond based on sharing strength and it lasted a lifetime. Different from a contract.
He remembered the day everything changed. The day the world as he understood it would come to an end. It was a normal day, he and his brothers woke up and did their chores, but never made it back to the house. Traps had been set in the night and each of them fell victim to one. He remembered waking up in the dark and in pain, surrounded by everyone from his village. All of them had been taken. They were given a week to recover and adjust to their new life before the Conditioning started. Each of them was branded with a unique number. Something that could be used to find them in the event that one of them escaped. The ones that the Conditioning worked on disappeared. Bought by mages that believed them to be Creature Familiars. Those who didn’t take to the Conditioning were tortured until they broke. It went on like this until their anger finally outweighed their fear. Their revolt; if it could really even be called that; was a failure in Silas’s opinion. So many of them had died. Freedom for the few of them that had made it out was paid for in the blood of those who hadn’t. Silas had taken his new freedom and run to the nearest mage. Signed it away in exchange for survival. Even if Daniel saw them as equals; Silas had still done the exact thing they had fought so hard to be freed from. He would have almost rather having died. Almost.
He could feel Daniel’s eyes on him and had the feeling he wasn’t going to be able to get out of this one without talking. He knew Daniel wouldn’t ask outright, but would linger until Silas said something. It Gave the illusion that he had other options; but if he wanted to be alone he would have to say something. “There were three of us, you know, that made it out.” He began and did what he could to keep the emotion out of his voice, “Me and then two of my brothers. I lost them in our mad dash to get out, and now I don’t know if they’re even alive.” He tried to blink away his tears, but they only rolled down his cheeks instead, “After everything we’d been through; I couldn’t be bothered to stay. I ran away like a fucking coward and sold myself out in a desperate bid to survive. Some fucking brother I am.” Daniel was quiet for a long while. This was the most Silas had ever ‘willingly’ said to him. “In a few weeks you’ll be healed enough to handle mildly strenuous activity.” He said eventually, “We could go looking for them if you would like.” Cold heavy dread settled in the pit of Silas’s stomach, “Why?” He snapped, “So you can add them to your collection? So you can have the complete set of the last shapeshifters known to man?”
“No.” Daniel replied sharply, “So you can have some damn closure and a place to stay once the contract is up. I actually want you to be safe, believe it or not.” Silas flinched. He knew Daniel wasn’t the same as the other humans he had dealt with, but he was still afraid. He set down his mug of long forgotten coffee and breathed out a defeated sigh. It was too early in the morning for a fight. On top of that, Daniel hadn’t done anything to deserve this. The contract was a means of protecting him. He understood that. “I’m sorry. You’ve been nothing but kind to me, and yet I still fear completely offering you my trust.” He said after the silence had long since grown uncomfortable, “You may very well be the only human with my best interests at heart and I keep pushing you away.” He took a deep breath and tuned to face Daniel, “I’ll think about it, but that is asking a lot of faith from me; and for now, I think I would rather be alone.” Daniel looked away from him and his shoulders slumped, “I understand.” His voice was almost level, but hurt lingered just beneath the surface, “I’ll be in the house if you need me.” Silas watched him leave and wondered if he should have been gentler. It wasn’t Daniel’s fault he’d gone through all that, but he had nothing else to do with all his anger. Burying it clearly hadn’t helped.
He picked through the food Daniel had brought up for him and tried to gather himself a little more. Daniel didn’t deserve to bear the brunt of his anger. He wasn’t responsible for what was done to him. He was the only person that was trying to help. The least Silas could do was give him the results he wanted. Even if they were fake. Time to see if he could even manage to be a convincing liar. The sooner he seemed well, the sooner he could get out of here. He didn’t know where he would go, yet, but he was sure he would find his place eventually. On top of that Daniel wouldn’t have to deal with him anymore. He could go back to whatever it was he had been doing before Silas had come crashing into his life. It was late in the day when Silas had gathered enough of himself back together to handle being around another person. He didn’t say anything to Daniel when he came back; because he looked busy, and because he simply didn’t feel like it. He got to work on the dishes so he would have less to do later in the evening. “I’m sorry Silas.” Daniel broke the silence after a while, “For this morning. It was insensitive and out of line.”
The laugh that hitched and bubbled it’s way out of his chest was bitter and humorless. It surprised him, this was the first time he had laughed in years. “Was it?” He asked coolly, “Are you rescinding your offer to help me find my only remaining relatives then?” “Well, no.” Daniel scrambled, “I just; I wanted you to know that I meant no offense by it.” He explained and Silas relaxed some, “I feel like I’ve messed something up, and I want to know how I can fix it. I hate seeing you so upset.” “It’s a matter of learning to trust you.” He said and looked down at his hands, “My whole life up until now has been spent in fear of humans. I just have to keep in mind that you haven’t posed a danger to me yet. Sorry for being so... defensive, I guess would be the word.” “You’re alright.” He replied kindly, “These things take time. Even at that, you have a lot of trauma to work through and-” “Daniel stop.” Silas interrupted, “I need someone to listen to me, not psychoanalyze me. Believe me, I am well aware of all my trauma and the power imbalance of our dynamic. I really don’t need the reminder.” “Right.” He agreed with a sharp nod, “It can be difficult to turn my doctor off sometimes.”
“I understand.” Silas replied as he leaned against the counter to face Daniel, “It’s the only way people will acknowledge you, so it has become your primary mode of existing.” He watched with mild amusement as Daniel’s jaw dropped, “You’re more than that to me, you know. You’re the closest thing to a friend I’ve had actually.” “First of all, ow.” He said with a laugh and put his hand over his heart, “Secondly, what happened to not psychoanalyzing each other? I’m glad you think of me as a friend though.” Silas smiled, and it felt strange after not having done so for so long, “I figured that you’ve done it to me enough times that I deserved a turn.” “Fair enough.” Daniel replied as he began to put his things away. “How many weeks?” Silas asked once his curiosity got the better of him, “Until we can leave?” He was quiet for a long while before he replied, “Six, if you mind your limitations; eight to twelve if you keep ignoring them like this.” His smile fell away, “That was a lot more than I was hoping for.” Daniel just shrugged, “You’ve been stubborn. Agitating your old injuries and coming back from your little excursions with new ones. You need to rest.”
“Fine.” He said as he made his way to the bookshelf to go through the travelers’ guides, “I’ll be a better patient from here on out.” He settled on his bed with the books he had grabbed, “Six weeks should be enough time to find a place to start.” “Of course it will.” Daniel replied with a gentle smile Silas felt like he hadn’t been meant to see. It was finally time to venture out into the world. He just hoped they found Connor and Richard before anyone else did. If he lost his brothers he wouldn’t have anyone left. There was no way he could survive that.

Strengths
One of the FRIENDLIEST people you will ever meet,
and hes really really funny

Looking through the injury/hurt prompt list I couldn't help but imagine Connor asking a small reader for “  a little help?  ” and reader has to drag big boi back to safety but struggles but he still is thankful and surprised at how far reader is able to get them out of trouble 🌼🌸🌼🌸
I hope this was close to what you imagined!
Warning: swearing
Tumblr media
Connor wasn't sure how he had allowed himself to get into this predicament. Despite his calculated risks, everything that could have gone wrong did. The suspect got away, shooting him in the knee-joint and rendering his left leg immobile. You and Hank had been too far behind to know where he was and, to top it all off, in his effort to continue his pursuit, despite his injury, he nearly fell off a roof, trapped on a ledge, out of sight. He was five stories up with a perfect view of his demise.
His thirium pump raced. He hates heights. Any attempt to pull himself back up caused him to slip or the cement of the old building to crumble, making his stress levels spike. He just wants to be on solid ground again. His knee throbbed, but in his panic, he couldn't figure out how to deactivate his sensors. Why the hell did he have them active while on duty anyway? Every second that ticked by played with his mind, the ledge seeming smaller, the ground seeming further away, and the world tilting, threatening to let him fall.
He just wants to be on solid ground.
"Connor! I got the suspect! Where'd you go?" You call out to him.
"Here, " he tries to call out to you, but his voice is choked, barely there.
"Connor!" You shout, and he fears your steps are going away.
"Here!" He manages to call out a little louder. After a few seconds, you peer over the ledge, looking down and finding him clinging for dear life.
"Oh my God! Connor! Are you okay?"
"A little help?" He tries to joke, but the shakiness betrayed his fear, "Go get Hank." He should be strong enough to pull him up. He hopes.
"He's all the way downstairs! Here, " you reach down to him, "take my hand." You were so small, if he were to try and pull himself up, you might fall.
"You can't. I'll be alright for a few-" a small shift of his foot caused more of the cement to break away underneath him, spider web cracks reaching under him.
"Trust me!" He so desperately wants to be on solid ground, and he does trust you. Connor took your hand.
You pressed your legs against the ledge and grabbed him with both hands, feeling like your arms are being ripped out of their socket. As much as your arms and legs wanted to give out, you heaved him up high enough so he could grab the top and pull himself over, laying on the ground, chest heaving as panic and relief rushed through him. He was safe.
You took a second before moving to look at his knee. When you turned it to further inspect it, Connor hissed, remembering he needed to disable his sensors.
"Sorry. Are you okay?" He only nodded, just trying to calm down.
It was a perfect shot, you had to give the suspect that. It was completely unusable and he'd likely need a whole new knee and shin. This is gonna make getting him down difficult. Reaching into your side bag, you pulled out a bottle of liquid rubber stoppers, taking the paste and covering the open thirium lines. At least he won't bleed out while you come up with a plan.
After his breathing slowed, you helped him sit up. He clung to you, still trembling.
"It's gonna be okay, " you coo in his ear, "I've got you." It was no mystery for you why Connor was acting as he was. He had told you about his first mission, about his sacrifice. Since then, he has never handled heights as well as he'd like. Quite frankly, you were glad to have him in your arms. You told him to trust you, but you weren't sure you'd be able to lift him. You took a risk and thankfully, it paid off. To think otherwise...
No. It doesn't do to dwell in what could have been. Just focus on now. Right now, you need to find a way to get Connor down five flights of stairs. Hank was keeping an eye on the suspect and likely won't suspect anything for a bit, and even if he did, at his age, he likely doesn't have the stamina to come back up here and carry Connor down.
"Alright, well, we can't stay here, " you pull out of the hug and move to his left side, throwing his arm over your shoulder. Taking hold of his opposite waist you get into a crouch.
"1..."
"Y/n, "
"2..."
"I don't think-"
"3!" You stood, or rather attempted. Connor only made it to his knees, and when he tried to stand on his one leg, the action sent you both to the ground.
"Dammit!" For normal people, this might have worked, but it is becoming increasingly obvious... You can deny it no longer...
You are small.
Connor was trying not to laugh, earning a glare from you. If he wasn't so damn tall... Well, there doesn't seem to be any other option.
"Plan B, " you moved in front of him, taking his arms and draping them over your shoulder, "hold on, " Connor held his forearms tightly. Seizing a breath, you took hold of his legs and stood, fighting the whole way up. His feet almost dragged on the ground, but you had him, trudging towards the stairwell.
He was surprised you were even able to pick him up, let alone carry him. Despite not being human, he was only slightly lighter than an average man of his stature. After a few steps and a slight adjustment of your grip, your steps evened out.
"Fuck!" You exclaimed once you conquered one flight of stairs, "after this... You're going on a diet."
"Duly noted, " Connor chuckled.
On the third flight of stairs, you stepped down too close to the edge. Out of reflex, you dropped Connor's right leg and grabbed the railing. Connor also reached out with one arm, the other holding you close.
"Shit, shit, shit, shit, " you muttered, letting the feeling of certain doom leave you, regaining your footing, "okay, hop!" Connor pushed off the ground, back on your back with an 'oof' from you.
Your legs were screaming at you. Arms, still aching from pulling him back on the roof, growing weaker by the second carrying him. Every breath forced into your strained lungs burned. All you could tell yourself was that you were almost there.
"Where the fu- Connor!" Hank exclaimed, seeing you coming down the last flight of stairs. He rushed over, meeting you at the base of the stairs, taking Connor's arm and easing him off your back. "You alright, son?"
Immediately, you slammed into the wall, gasping as you slid down.
"I'll be alright, thanks to Y/n. You should help her to the car, " Connor couldn't think of a time he had seen you so red.
"Let's get you there first. She ain't goin' nowhere." Hank carried him to your car, setting him in the backseat before going back to you. You were no longer wheezing, but your arms and legs shook when he helped you up.
"You gonna be alright to drive?" Hank asked.
"Yeah, I just need a few more minutes... Connor's not in any danger."
"How far'ed you carry 'im?"
"From the roof."
"Didn't think to radio for help?" Hank chuckled. You were quiet for a moment, eyes wide.
"Fuuuuuuuuckkk!!!"

on the topic of rk900 && his ‘deviancy’
the way that i write rk900 to be is very specific, and it includes a lot, which i will? try to explain? as best i can? please feel free to ask clarifying questions though like i have so much to say about this and im sure i’ll miss something. anyway imma shove this under a cut because i KNOW im about to just fucking go.
so i wanna make it very clear from the get go that 900 is not deviant in the typical fashion. he does not believe that he is a free being with actual emotions and rights to live. there is never a moment where he stops and goes ‘oh shit’ and breaks through that red tape. he never has an ‘i may be deviant’ breakdown. he is not deviant.
however, he is not not-deviant.
what i mean by this is kind of complicated. let me start with some background into my personal interpretation of the rk900 series in general. they are a series designed for warfare -- the majority of them have been shipped overseas with soldiers to act as a variety of things: weapons, infiltration, an inhuman line of defense to protect the human soldiers --- like. they were specifically designed to be killers, to be dangerous, to be pretty damn hard to stop. they are essentially top of the line terminators -- are they entirely legal? ehhhhhh. but they let the government get away with things that might either kill their human soldiers or are of questionable ethic that they can just.... decommission the android afterwards. that’s their main function, the main reason they exist.
this is crucial, and i will explain more on it in a moment, but for the rest of this meta i’m going to be using rk900 to talk of the general model series, and 900 to speak specifically to mine (and, in a lesser way, the fandom one in general, though this should go without saying i don’t intend to infringe upon other personal headcanons of rk900 writers)
connor was the rk ‘law enforcement’ prototype, but he also functioned mainly as a playing piece in an android revolution that, let’s face it, cyberlife saw coming a mile away. cyberlife wanted a say. they wanted to have a semblance of control over how to twist the uprising in a way that benefit them. given 900 comes about in a world where the revolution was quelled, cyberlife basically achieved their goal (i’ll touch upon my meta of my machine connor and this in another post).
the reason this is important is because 900 was implanted with the majority of observations and experiences that connor had. things he learned about humanity, how to mimic it, how to manipulate it, how to use it. things like the events of the revolution in the order they happened, what it was like to be a detective with the dpd, literally like. all the things that connor went through or observed or scanned or downloaded or learned -- these were uploaded into 900.
now, his memories weren’t necessarily input into 900 -- that is, 900 doesn’t have any first hand accounts of most things (from petting sumo all the way to connor ending the revolution). so even if he has an understanding of what being on a case is like, he doesn’t have connor’s exact memories of doing it. it’s more like all of these things have been converted into data for him to retrieve -- it’s been shifted into facts, statements, articles, serving more as.... general history knowledge? like that stuff everyone just knows for some reason?
but it’s more in depth than that because, yknow, they intended for 900 to be top of the line (yes, 900, not rk900). so all this information from connor was used to boost the insanely vast amounts of knowledge that they input into 900 to begin with -- it was used as contextual information, filler information, you get me? because the main thing that differed between connor and 900 is that 900 was given all the knowledge he needed before he was released, where as connor was expected to observe and adapt. cyberlife took connor’s methods of observing and interacting and adapting to humanity and refined it so that 900 already had that information.
so when 900 was officially done, he had basically anything he might need to know in his software already. he didn’t need to learn anything.
so let me backtrack a little bit into why i say 900 gets these things and not all the rk900s.
like i said before, the rk900s were built for warfare. 900 was not. i mean, yes, his model and abilities are all the same, he is still an rk900 model. but he was not built to go to war. the 900 that connor meets in the zen garden is the same 900 i write. that particular rk900 model, 900, was specifically designed to replace connor. the others were mass produced for their purpose as war based androids. but 900 was made to work for the DPD, to sort of take connor’s place, in part because it gives them access to local law, but also because they want to monitor the place where connor was assigned.
so because of this 900 does not have a purpose.
he was not developed with any specific goal or mission or duty aside from ‘work with the dpd’, so he doesn’t have the same goal set that the rk900 models are programmed with. cyberlife essentially input all this data into 900, and then didn’t tell him what to do with it aside from ‘just go to this location’ which means that 900 had to figure it out for himself.
this is where cyberlife fucked up big time.
the other rk900 models are designed to be perfect soldiers -- deviancy was basically coded out of them based on connor’s experience (whether or not he went deviant, it was in his code). thats not to say that they can never go deviant, its just to say it would be really fucking hard to make them do that.
since 900 has none of that, he is inherently different from the rk900 model. when you make an android without a purpose, you have basically created a deviant android from the get go. 900 is more or less his own model, in which there is only one 900, and by default, he works for the Detroit Police Department.
now, generally, this means he’s paired with gavin (gotta live up to that delicious ship, honestly) so a lot of my following nonsense is stemmed from that but the point is that, he gets to decide what his goal is whenever he wants, so it can change, and it does change, and the choice is entirely his own. by all intents and purposes, cyberlife inadvertently created an android with honest to god free will.
so where does this leave us with deviancy? because i can hear ya’ll but fox, you said he wasn’t deviant and now you’re saying he is which is it?
here’s what makes 900, well, 900. as part of the fact that he is so incredibly self-aware, he knows he’s a machine. he accepts he’s a machine. there isn’t any like -- ‘i’m a machine’ with a touch of sadness or regret. he doesn’t wish to be human -- he has no desire to feel or experience human things, or do whatever deviant androids wanted. he doesn’t care about that. it doesn’t interest him in the slightest. and this isn’t because he doesn’t know about feelings or that “how could he know if he doesn’t want them if he hasn’t experienced them” because it’s not like that. 900 has an incredible sense of what things are, what they’d be like -- he got all of this from connor, remember. so 900 isn’t inherently interested in being anything other than a machine, and he holds no misunderstandings about what being a machine entails either.
does that make sense? hold on let me try it this way. because cyberlife tried so hard to make sure that 900′s software had everything, they created an incredibly self-aware android that doesn’t seek humanity because of how well they understand life. 900 doesn’t like or dislike being an android -- he just is. he recognizes that. wanting to be something else doesn’t... compute because it just doesn’t make sense. like why would he want to be human when he’s not? when he can be better and do more? like i can’t even say he’s happy about it because he doesn’t (at first) associate chemical reactions in his system with being emotions because they aren’t. it’s all synthetic.
he is perhaps the most alive an android can get without being alive, honestly.
900 decides that, upon being assigned to work with gavin, that gavin is technically his mission now. as a partner to a detective, but as a partner that is stronger, faster, and can withstand immense damage, he essentially positions himself as a bodyguard for the human. the problem here is that, due to his awareness, his approach to this is.... unorthodox.
900 will let gavin throw a punch at someone who can and will definitely hit back, but he’ll stop gavin from walking into an ambush. he might get gavin a coffee one day without being asked, but then throw the coffee at him the next day when gavin demands one. he has a habit of making sly comments and is known to push buttons and see what he can get away with, testing limits and constantly pressing against the boundaries of what he can do before someone snaps, and then sees if he can go just a little farther.
900 is very much his own person. he belongs to neither cyberlife nor DPD. he does what he wants when he wants it and how he wants it, and he can, at times, appear very human (albeit one that is obnoxious and at times infuriating). however 900 never lets it be forgotten that he is a machine. he can crush every bone in your body one by one while you’re helpless to it. he can have expressions that are near-humanlike : amused, angry, exasperated. but he will go from lightly smiling to fucking cold eyes and danger just radiating off of him to the point people will actually feel the room lower a few degrees
900 knows he’s a machine. if you even for a moment forget, he will remind you. he has unethically tortured suspects for information, they purposely don’t give 900 a gun at the start because he would get bored and simply shoot whoever they’re investigating and apologize later. he has no qualms about killing, about breaking laws or faces, about doing things the way that he feels like doing them, with or without anyone approving. and if anyone thinks they can stop him, they’re just. good fucking luck.
but the reason he doesn’t do any of this is because he is self-aware enough to know there’s no fucking point to it. his mission is, as he decides, “protect gavin reed” and he will do what it takes for that, which may include punching a suspect or stealing evidence or something, he doesn’t care, but if it serves no true purpose in what 900 is doing, then he consciously decides he’s not going to just.. do it. but the thing is that at any moment he could decide to change his mind. and that’s what makes him so terrifying. he is literally unpredictable.
i ... okay i think that’s what i wanted to say? just as like some added notes, but with gavin, 900 does become.... hmm... softer? he doesn’t soften but he basically claims gavin as his own, like he is assigned to be gavin’s partner but it becomes literally almost a possessive thing. 900 makes gavin his mission, and if anyone gets in the way, they’re fucked. but by attaching himself to a human, he opens himself up to the softer side of being human, so 900 never truly ‘becomes deviant’ because there is never, as i said, a moment where he’s got a red wall that says this isn’t protocol becaaaause he doesn’t have protocol. so there’s never a chance for him to break through it. but he takes care of his partner, makes sure gavin is eating well and sleeping well, makes sure he’s more or less safe, is always in tuned to where gavin is and what gavin is doing, will step in at a moment’s notice if he feels the need.
it becomes way more.... well, more, if this is a ship with a gavin, but regardless, 900 will have a gentler approach to his interactions with the human he has claimed that will be noticeable. softer tones, less cold eyes, more considerate touches. he’ll listen to gavin (may not always follow directions, but he listens), he’ll defend gavin’s actions, he’ll get angry if something happens to gavin. 900 never explicitly goes deviant, and he never fully accepts that what he feels is.... a real feeling? because he does not fully believe that androids can experience true emotion, so even if he does get angry, or he does feel amused or happy or whatever, it’s based on an extensively coded software that has made him so perfectly able to mimic humanity that it’s basically indecipherable. yes, he cares about gavin in most cases. yes he can feel panic or worry if something happens. but in general, no. he will not feel fear, he is not concerned with death, he can’t experience pain... so.
a last note is that like. this is the reason that he goes by 900. gavin typically calls him ‘nines’ which is only allowed for gavin. but a name is a human thing, and 900 is not and has no desire to be, so he just uses 900. most other people in the DPD also just use 900, sometimes they’ll call him rk which he’s okay with but it’s not his preference. he would’ve allowed gavin to name him if he wanted to but gavin didn’t, so that’s why when gavin begins using nines, that’s what 900 assumes as a name. 900 is comfortable to him, it’s who he is, and he doesn’t desire more than that.
alright i’m. i’m probably gonna start getting repetitive soon, and a lot of the rest of the emotional aspect is based on 900 being involved with gavin, and thats case by case so it’s can be subject to change, and this post is meant to serve as a general basis for my portrayal of 900.

Med Rewatch Series (#1)
Right, monkey brain said no sleep no rest, only suffering at the hands of med.
I am going to start with the first episode of S2: Soul Care. Reasoning? I need to check if Latham references Ava in his first interaction with Connor.
If my memory serves me right, when Connor is passed over to Latham for his fellowship, Latham says that he was not his first choice. In fact, his first choice was a brilliant surgeon from South Africa. In the first episode of S2, a season where Ava Bekker is only introduced with one line at the end of the last episode.
If I remember correctly and Latham does actually say that in the first ep of s2, it will be huge for the continuity (and my theory that I came up with today, if you’re interested in following this you should really read that really long post that came a little before this where the basis of the theory is laid out).
Also in rewatching this I see more of Sarah which, again, I have not seen in two years, and she was the reason I became invested in the show, and the reason I stopped watching after she left.
And all of this even before I start the episode.
There are so many emotions and thoughts running through my brain it literally hurts. I think i’m getting a headache. I’m already really regretting this, this cannot be healthy for me.
(btw, this will basically be a train of thought type thing, I’ll do my best to keep it coherent)
- omg its starting
- i completely forgot how s1 ended but its not importnat in anyway
- just, why are they in a helicopter
- how fast does the episode move ive forgotten and i need to know
-JESUS CHRIST SO DRAMATIC
- THE BEGINNING WITH WILL WHY
- it is at this point where I apologize to all those who made it this far bc we’re literally not even 30 seconds in yet
- i just have a lot of med thoughts
- oh god save me
- i am laughing hysterically
- JESUS CHRIST THE APRIL TB STORYLINE AND TATE WTF
- god that feels like a lifetime ago it was relevant holyshit
-remember when she was pregnant?
- literally what have I missed
- side note, i really like the cup april drinks out of.
-THERE SHE IS
-SARAH
-SHE’S HERE
-and she’s a barista
-literally wtf is this show
-and the dramatic music is still going literally chill man god
-THE WAY SARAH SMILES HOLY SHITTTT come on man there was literally no way i’d survive this but fuck not even a minute in...
- okay but i never understood charles’ family scenario but this is already too fucking long for a minute in so i hope we can just skip past that
-hahahah sharon’s fucking divorce? holy shit, this is too dramatic for the first ep literally save me (at least she acts well)
-yeah the one thing I will say about med (thats a lie ive already said a hundred but yk) is that for the crap storylines and all, the actors take what they’re given and give it their all and i appreciate it so much
-the helicopter’s number is N365UCC and just... succ
-ethans bird (!)
-also the fact that’s so big for ethan to be chief resident is so weird to me. like the last medical drama I watched was greys and they are all like grizzled veterans and have been doing that stuff for actual decades and i tend to put med and greys on like the same level bc they are the only medical dramas ive watched but.. holy crap the people on med are so young?? half their main cast is med students and residents. when nearly every main character on greys is a department head. its wild.
-proud of ethan. proud of my boy (did you know that adam jacobs who played aladdin on broadway was in a s3 episode? fun facts) (fun fact: did you know that ava is the only main character on the show who’s status is now deceased? I’ll shut up now.)
-oh my god i say roland buck III’s name and GOD noah jesus
- i find noah incredibly annoying, especially bc he tries to overshadow reese (my fav) but also just bc hes spoiled [that thing that said that one of the biggest mistakes med made was not having sarah get the emergency med residency at the end of s1 comes to mine, and the fact that noah got his residency easy peasy] - but, i will say that the moment at the end of this season where noah and reese dance together at the party is very adorable. (pre reesker brain showing lmao I really did love sarah with my whole heart) (moreover my snapchat memories were filled with just recordings of reese scenes lmaooooo)
-okay at this point I need to stop once i get to the potential ava thing bc what is happening we’re not even two minutes in why is this so long. (so many thoughts)
- i find will annoying but,,, he is kind of nice to look at. and what i mean is like facial acting (i am a lesbian). like. just. don’t speak. and when he’s being a good character he’s fine. it’s very few and very far between ig
-natalie annoys me so much and shes only had one line, and it wasn’t even a character line, it was mainly exposition.
-EW
-FUCKING EW
-ITS CONNOR HE’S HERE. god i forgot what he looked like in red scrubs and his poofy hair. child compared to s3 and s4. hopefully we see latham soon so we all don’t have to suffer through this. and he looks so angsty. he definetly glowed up in the later seasons.
- i have no clue how to spell definetly. I am guessing literally everytime.
-latham please come and end this all.
-oh haha there’s downey hes dead.
-okay so i actually watched s1 after i watched s2 which is so weird to think about. like that means that i liked s2 so much that i BOUGHT THE DVD FOR S1. yeah. I liked it that much (it really only means I was that much of a simp for sarah). but it also means that technically i watched s1 after i met ava?? like i honestly had NO CLUE what was in my future. did young me ever think she was going to stay up late at night, avoiding history hw while analyzing a defunct character from this show on a whim? a character i was super annoyed with at the beginning? who has no become a huge part of my personality? honestly? no. no she did not.
-and the story with downey was so jarring. and the story with zanetti. like i think i first started watching with the first ep of s2 (the one im talking about rn) and i was a bit lost. so going back and watch s1 to like connect the dots. but i never expected the dots to look like that. its like each season of this show is a completely different show from all the other seasons. like i’ve said before, this show is a headache. but literally latham please come and end this for now.
-GOD CONNOR LOOKS SO YOUNG WHAT THE HELL thats so weird lmaooooo
- like i had absolutely no clue who downey was going into this. and they they started talking like ‘oh yeah he killed his attending’ and i was just like ‘damn bro ill cheers to that’
- that’s literally ava’s first line actually. “i heard your girlfriend went insane and you murdered your attending.” - which was why she was hated at first. that was literally her first line to connor which is like, so hilariously rude that it was instantly iconic.
-also HAHAHAHAH CUE FUCKING ANGST ABOUT CONNOR HURTING EVERYONE AROUND HIM WTF BRO THE EFFECT YOU HAVE ON PEOPLE
- but i’m also sad now. --- “I heard your girlfriend went insane.” Oh. Oh, sweetie. Ava... No. --- but why does s2 ava (all two lines) foreshadow s4 ava in so many ways. like literally what were the writers on.
-baghdad.
-ah yes. the return of baghdad. been a long time since i heard that one, but it is easily one of my favorite running things about med. its just a little detail but the nick name is like perfect. (when i read fanfic where the chars are actually doing doctor stuff in the hospital it makes me light up) the WORLD BUILDINGGGGG. but whatever
-this is the girl who has the fake baby right? that was a really good ep (bc sarah content. can you see my favorites? for the same reason the one where the girl has split personalities easily ranks high with me.) oh wait this is the one where the dad like dies but then comes back for a split second to see his grand child. there’s not really a lot I can say about that, but the fact that i remember it vividly is... weird.
-okay but I actually love the ED in this show. I love how the show is centered around the ED and not the OR like greys. its fast paced, you see a lot about the characters really quickly (one of the reason’s connor’s intro to the hospital in the pilot is certified iconic in my mind [his interactions with will are gold]). the team works well together (usually, when things are good. - which is another reason I hated the show more as time went on. The personal lives interfered more and more and more with their work as time went on. it got so annoying). but like right here will just calls maggies name and maggie is just On It. I love it. I love the fast pace. it’s why this show got me to come back. so many things happen, it overloads my brain, like the way a video game works y occupying all of your attention.
-when is the dad gonna pass out i’m just waiting
-AHAHAHAHAHA JEFF NOOOOO. what even was the deal with jeff that storyline annoyed me so much I never got it. he was friends with nat’s husband (who died) and they were both named Jeff? and she actually ended up getting with Jeff a few times?
- the more you watch med and see how the characters get with each other, the more jaded you become
-omg they’re transferring the girl to the bed i love it when they count
-maggie was great but from what i heard/read they ruined her character too??? just not the same
-lmao only real g’s remember the chicago fire backdoor med pilot (if you want an explanation ask me lmao it was a ride)
- i was a real med simp bc I bought that episode on apple video.
-ahahaha this is so stupid. Jeff tries to do things and Will (being a fucking asshole and jealous, doesnt’ let him). he’s a med student let him fucking learn. also i remember why i hated will
-okay but if you look at greys vs. med, greys literally gives their med students no rights. scratch that. they give they’re interns little to no rights. (i only watched the last three seasons bc lesbian, but in those seasons they introduce the bottom of the totem pole, the sub I’s, who are a step ahead of med students, yet they are jokes on the show.) its just a weird juxtaposition is all.
-”lungs are wet.” dramatic music intensifies.
-OKAY BUT I LITERALLY FORGOT NATALIE SPECIALIZED IN PEDS. LIKE I COMPLETELY 100% FORGOT. HOLY SHIT THATS SO FUNNY i can’t believe in my mass hyperfixation i forgot, just more proof that she doesn’t deserve anything.
-why did will make nat do that call? also idk why but is it weird to anyone else when the characters call each other but just.. their names.
-ahahahah i laugh literally everytime i remember that will is supposed to be in charge like he is threatened by anything that MOVES. (also more juxtapositon to greys bc here the attendings are treated as a joke!)
- hly shit i just remember monday mourning and god damn the angst literally never takes a day off but whatever.
- i dont usually get like this but the dad’s acting here is actually making me sad lol. Usually i get annoyed when family members get emotional (im weird uhhhh)
-why did we have to watch the tube being put in for so long - med is so dramatic this fucking show whyyyy
- i bet u the dad is gonna pass out
-oh ig not oops
-OKAY FUCK ME THAT LITERALLY ONLY TOOK US TO THE TITLES HOW DO I HAVE THESE MANY FUCKING THOUGHTS.
-wait latham introduction we may just be able to call it here.
-haha i fucking hate him (connor). he just... comes off so fake-charming its annoying. i cant get over it lmao
-okay but literally every gives connor shit and I am here for it. Latham: “did you kill him?”
- it is literally so funny but annoy how connor throws hands with literally everyone in his path (like dude just chill come onnn)
-okay. okay. okay. finally the part i was waiting for.
- Latham: I preferred a young woman from Groote Schuur, but I was outvoted.
That’s an actual quote, from Latham. For those who are wondering, Groote Schuur is a famous hospital in, you guessed it, South Africa. This is where I’m calling the episode. This is all I needed.
I just want to restate. This is the first episode of season 2. Ava Bekker is introduced to the show in the last episode of season 2. What does this mean, my friends? It means everything.
For those of you who stuck through to the end, I am very thankful. Here we have probably the first piece of evidence to my theory, at least chronologically.
I, personally, think it’s absurd I remembered this point, but I did. That point, that line, presently, watching this episode with no idea of what the future holds, is only there to tell us that Latham and Connor are not going to agree. But this is the single greatest piece of foreshadowing med has ever done.
Med has never planned anything. I feel confident when I say that. Look at their storylines. They are literally on fire, and every decision the characters make reads like the writers going ‘we have no idea how we made it this far, we thought we would get stopped like ten steps ago.’
When has med ever planned things more than a few episodes in advanced, honestly? Almost never, and going a full season sitting on a plot point, that’s major. This was the first time med has ever planned something miles in advance.
In all honestly, yes I am probably giving the med writers a lot more credit than they deserve. It’s quite possible that as the season progressed they just decided connor needed a new love interest or at least a new dynamic, so they could have just easily looked back and thought ‘oh, hey, here’s a fun little thing we said earlier in the season, wouldn’t it be fun if it paid off?’ That could be true.
Here’s why it probably isn’t. The med writers have no respect for their own continuity. you really think that, in order to come up with a whole new character, they went back to the first episode of the season and paid off a line that is said in less than 2 seconds? no way. Bull. Shit.
honestly, it is probably equally unlikely that either of these things happened. The med writers don’t look back at their story. It’s true, but they also don’t plan things in advance either.
here’s the thing, the more i write, the more absurd it starts to sound. Yeah. Sure. the med writers sat on a character for an entire season, that’s totally a thing that happened and not sarcasm. When pigs fly. everyone knows med is impulsive and messy. But what I am saying is that they planned one thing. One thing.
Ava has an accent. That was a commitment. A pretty uncommon one too. South Africa is such an out of the box choice that god its barely on the map. It asks a lot of someone to act hard while also doing an uncommon accent. If the med writers just decided they needed to give connor a new dynamic, they could have made it a n y o n e. Yeah, sure it would have been nice to have the latham dynamic with the new character, but it would have been so much easier to just create a new character that doesn’t have such a commitment. We all know people who play opposite of Connor Rhodes do not stay around that long.
There is absolutely no reason Connor’s s3 love interest had to be the girl from South Africa. It could have literally been anyone. They could have kept Robin on. They could have made the new character not have so many specific requirements.
At this point, I’m pushing this really hard. Yeah, obviously Ava was planned from the beginning of s2. She had to be. It’s way too specific to be anything else.
What I’m pointing out here is med has never done that before. (at least to my knowledge, if i’m wrong please tell me i don’t want to be a fool) They have never had such a concrete plan for a character, so much as to tease them a full season before they were introduced.
I’m saying, that Ava was special. She was the only character who was teased ahead of her arrival. The one who they knew they wanted, other than the originals, and honestly saying the ‘knew what they wanted to do with the originals’ is being generous. But Ava was different. They had big plans for Ava.
It’s undeniable. Ava was the only character who was planned and teased ahead of her arrival. Ava has such a different style and character than anyone else on the show. She was always planned to be, even when she was just being teased, a rival to connor, meaning she could stand her own against him (or without him).
Now of course, the med writers forgot this when writing s4 and s5. But for the purposes of the important things, all that really matters are the two mentions in s2, and what happens in s3. (for the theory at least).
In conclusion: think about how odd it is that Ava was the only character that was planned over the course of the show. Like sure the characters are planned, but never this far in advance. Med writers don’t really plan anything. I would be shocked if they did anything but through a dart at a spinning wheel. But they had plans for Ava, and they had plans for s3, when she was good.
Think about how odd it is that the med writers had a character planned from the start of s2, that they sat on for a whole season. They never, ever did something so slow and deliberate. Never. It goes against their formula. Like a fucking shark, they have to be moving or they die, at least in their heads. But Ava was always a change to the formula. They had a plan for s3.
that’s it for now. we will see what happens when i watch the last episode of s2.

Broken Pieces Chapter 2
Broken Pieces Masterlist
<><><><><><><><><><><><>
Warnings: Mild Language i think
<><><><><><><><><><><><>
"Mom?" the kid slurred.
"No I'm not your mom kiddo," I replied to the half-awake kid. His eyes started to droop. "Just go back to sleep, you'll feel better."
He mumbled something before he passed out again.
"So, did you see his mom?" Annie asked me.
"No, by the time I got there it was just him, Grover, and Bull Baby."
We both jumped at the sound of the door opening, revealing Grover. He looked so depressed it was making me depressed.
"H-how is he?" He asked.
"He just woke up actually. Asking for his mom." I answered. Grover visibly flinched. "What happened Grover?"
"He- she-she r-risked her life, to make sure Percy and I were safe." He cried.
So, Percy, that's the kid's name. Most likely after Perseus, this must be a sick joke. But wait-
"Why was she there in the first place?" I inquired.
"Well-"
"Ngggh" The kid, Percy groaned.
I turned, checking what's wrong with him. None of his wounds are infected, I cleaned and treated them myself. I felt his forehead, it was a normal temperature. Then it clicked. He was having a nightmare. He began to thrash and whimper in pain. I held on tightly to his hand, trying to stabilize him.
After several minutes, he calmed down. His breathing was still a little irregular, but nothing too severe.
That's when Grover stated, "I'll watch over him now, you haven't slept at all in the past 24-hours. ."
Has it really been that long? I guess, now that I think about it, my neck really aches. I guess I should take a break. So I got up, very slowly mind you, and said my goodbyes to Grover and Annie. The minute I walked through the door to Hermes cabin I was tackled by none other than Connor Stoll.
"What happened? Who's the kid? Is he alright? Are you alright? You look like death. Have you slept at all?" He asked one right after another. I laughed softly.
"Hello to you too. I'm fine, just need some sleep. The kid is fine, he's currently resting at the Big House. Any other questions mom?"
He pouted, "Come on Phe, you had me worried. You snuck out of the cabin and never came back! You know how terrifying that is? You could have been dead, and I would have never known. Luckily I heard some rumors that you were in the big house. I tried to visit you, but they were limiting visitors to not scare the kid. But still! You can't just do things like that!" After his speech, he was nearly on the brink of crying.
Ouch, my heart.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to worry you. But you know I can't get beaten that easily." I laughed.
"I know. It's just, that dream has made me paranoid."
"Huh? My dream has made you paranoid? Shouldn't it make me paranoid?"
"But the thing is, you don't fear death! Someone could tell you that you'd die today, and you would say something like, "Oh, guess I'll have to make the best of it then." And that scares me! You have no sense of self-preservation. It's very frustrating."
I frowned, not liking this worried Connor. "Con, you're being too serious. I don't like it."
"Heh, I guess you're right. I would invite you to prank the Demeter house, but I wasn't kidding when I said you look like death." He chuckled.
"Oh, shove it. I look fabulous." We both had a good laugh. "But seriously, I'm tired, go do whatever." And with that, he left. The Hermes cabin was currently at archery, so I could nap in peace. Thank the gods. The instant my head hit my pillow, I was out.
<><><><><><><><><><><><><>
"-ebe! Wake up!" My eyes shot open. Who dare interrupts my slumber. I shot up, glaring at the intruder, but immediately softening when I saw who it was.
"What do you need Will?" I asked the nine-year-old.
"It's time for dinner, and you need to eat."
"Okay, I'm up, I'll be there." I smiled at him, ruffling his curly blonde hair.
He laughed, "Okay, I'll see you there."
After he left I sighed, I wasn't really prepared to go down to the dining pavilion. But, whatever. It's not like I was trying to impress anyone anyway. I went down to the pavilion, trying to tie my messy hair into a ponytail, trying to at least look somewhat presentable. I was greeted with smiles from various campers. I went and got my food and walked to the firepit to dump a portion into the flames.
'Mom, whoever you are, please look after that kid. I have a feeling he won't have a very peaceful time here.'
I walked over and took my normal seat between Connor and his older brother Travis.
<><><><><><><><><><><><><>
"B-but, I don't understand. Why can't you just bandage the wound?" Will asked.
"Because it won't completely heal. The outer part will heal, but the tissue underneath will still be separated and damaged." I explained.
"Oh. So, is this how you do it?"
"Yeah, but you're way too stiff. Relax a little bit. You're doing fine." I assured him.
I was giving Will some lessons for first aid. Even though he has Apollo's healing powers, he needed to learn how to heal and treat someone without powers.
"How come you know all of this?" He asked me.
"Trial and error," I answered truthfully. He just nodded and went back to stitching up the pig belly. I looked at the kid. He was a good kid. His healing abilities are really spectacular for his age. I mean, it's no surprise cause he's a child of Apollo. But even Michael's not this good.
"Hey, Phoebe! Could you patch me up real quick? Got in a little trouble with the dragon." My good friend, Beckendorf said as he walked into the infirmary.
"Again? You sure you can tame it?" I teased.
"It doesn't need taming."
"So you're saying it just doesn't like you."
"Just patch me up." We laughed, as I got the needed materials to heal his burn wounds.
"Bite this," I said shoving a piece of cloth in his mouth.
"Wai-mph"
"These are nasty burns, and this aloe will burn like hell. i'm warning you ahead of time."
<><><><><><><><><><><><><>
"You just can't stay away from him, can't you?" Annie questioned.
"He's a patient of mine. I want to make sure he's okay. Plus, he just lost his mom, he'll need someone when he wakes up." I replied.
"Whatever. But you do know that he's the one from the prophecy."
"I really don't care Annie. He's a kid that's gonna be confused as hell when he wakes up. And Mr. D doesn't exactly make the warmest of welcomes."
"Well, I'm going to go do archery."
"M'kay, have fun."
After she left, I cleaned up the kid. I wiped the drool off his face and fed him some food. I stood and went to wash the bowl inside the big house. Grover passed by me and visited Percy on the porch. I heard muffled talking, the kid must be awake now. I walked outside and sure enough, I found Grover and Percy talking.
"Hey, kiddo. How're you holding up?" I tentatively ask Percy. He looks at me with a confused face, before realization dawns on him.
"You- you were that girl, who saved me." He said.
"I didn't exactly save you. You already did all the hard work. The name's Phoebe Jacobs. Nice to meet you."
He started to tear up. I panicked, did my name offend him?
"Woah kiddo, you okay? Did I offend you?" I asked worriedly.
"N-no. I'm fine." That was a total lie. "My name is Percy Jackson," He held out a trembling hand to me and I shook it.
"C'mon. Chiron wants to speak with you." I told him.
Damn. This kid's tough. He can't be much older than 12. But he still has been through more than most have in a lifetime. And now he's going to face an even tougher challenge.
Mr. D playing pinochle.
<><><><><><><><><><><><><>
And thats chapter 2! I was going to post this tomorrow, but nobody is gonna read it anyways, so why wait 😂. But I hope you guys are enjoying it, and I know Connor is SUPER DUPER OOC AND IM SORRY. But let me know what you guys think, and if you would be interested in my other OC insert ideas.

there was a conversation in the rk1k discord about a spiderman au a while back and i decided to try write something about it bc its consuming like 30% of my brain
idk if i’ll write more (im way better at writing ideas down as bullet points instead of prose) but man it just seems like a neat idea idk
word count: 1.6k
pairing: general
additional tags: human au, physical violence, gavin is an unsympathetic rat boy
Look, Connor considers himself a calm person. He’s level-headed at the best of times. But he’s pretty sure even the calmest person would panic at least a little if they got stuck to their bedroom wall.
One hand is completely splayed out on the ceiling, the other one still stuck to his sneaker. His feet aren’t quite flat on the ceiling, but he certainly wouldn’t have a comfortable fall if he stopped sticking to everything. Why he’s sticking to everything, he still doesn’t know.
He doesn’t know why anything that’s happened to him today has happened; he grew a good three inches taller overnight, he accidentally stuck to his biology textbook - and subsequently tore it to shreds - this morning, and it’s like he’s jumping at the slightest provocation. There’s been a foul taste in his mouth all day, and he swears he somehow burned a piece of paper he chewed on, but he hasn’t got a fever. It doesn’t make any sense.
Even so, the thought sends Connor’s anxiety through the roof…more to the point, his anxiety is making him stick to the fucking roof.
For no good reason, he keeps thinking about yesterday. The field trip to the CyberLife Lab, the spider that crawled onto his hand and left him a painful, bruising bite. The tour guide said something about the experiments they were running on arachnids and other small animals, genetically enhancing them with nanobots in an attempt to slow or prevent extinction, or…something. But that doesn’t make sense. There’s no way to confirm the effects are transmittable to humans.
It’s probably not helping him at all to scream his head off, but he’s not sure what else he can do. He’s pulling his hand away from the ceiling as hard as he can, even trying to pry it off with the sneaker in his other hand, but it’s not working. He’s just putting more cracks in the paint.
He can’t see the door opening from his angle, but he hears it, followed by his dad’s voice: “Connor, are you o-- What the fuck?!”
At the same time as his dad swears, Connor finally frees his hand with a startled yelp. Drywall flakes off with it, but it doesn’t quite fall into his face before his entire upper body falls down with nothing to hold it up. The upside-down view of his room, of his dad’s confused and horrified expression, makes Connor nauseous.
And just a second too late, it strikes him that he’s hanging from the ceiling of an old house by nothing but the balls of his feet. With a dull crunch, the drywall above him gives out and he plummets to the floor. Connor’s fall is half-broken by his bed, but his knees land straight on the floor. Carpet be damned, it’s a rough landing.
And now there’s a perfect handprint of missing drywall on Connor’s ceiling.
---
Okay. So maybe Connor has unhuman abilities thanks to a genetically altered spider. That’s fine, probably. Kind of. Once he figures out how to ignore them, everything can go back to normal.
And for a few weeks, it’s almost like Connor gets away with telling himself that blatant lie. Ignoring them during school is hard and stressful, but at home, he’s free to throw theories (and himself) at the wall to see what sticks; and once he’s done that, he knows how to avoid triggering them. It gets a little bit easier to stop sticking to everything, to stop burning whatever enters his mouth or visibly jumping whenever something sets off his fight-or-flight reflex.
Maybe it’s a smarter idea to tell someone. Or maybe telling someone would be the fastest way to be locked up in a government facility and experimented on until someone wrote a book about him. Or maybe he’s being paranoid, but still, Connor has a bad feeling that he doesn’t want anyone to know what’s happening to him. And apart from his poor father, no one seems to know.
“Hey, jackass! I’m talking to you!”
That might change if this guy doesn’t leave him alone, though. Connor’s sharpened foresight allows him to step out of Gavin’s reach before he can grab Connor by the back of his sweatshirt. Instead of turning back to face Gavin, he pulls up his hood and keeps walking as fast as he can without looking conspicuous.
Gavin reaches out again, successfully pulling Connor back by his backpack. “Aren’t you forgetting something?”
As Connor is forcefully spun around, he barely stops himself from glaring. “I’m pretty sure I’m not. And I’m pretty sure this isn’t even the way to your house, so you ought to turn back and go home.”
Predictably, Gavin ignores him. “Don’t play coy. You promised to help me out with exams, remember? I just need your English notes; I’ll bring them back safe and sound tomorrow, alright?”
“When I promised to help you, I thought that meant tutoring you. I’m not letting you copy my notes. Especially if you’re copying them word-for-word.”
“That was one time--”
“If you don’t want to listen in class, that’s your own problem.” Connor can’t quite stop spite creeping into his voice when he continues: “I’m not letting you get us both in trouble just because you don’t want to stop being an asshole.”
“Watch the tone, robot,” Gavin sneers.
“If you literally ever watched your own, I’d consider it. Instead, you have to waste all your energy on being the biggest dickhead on the planet and pretending you’re not just like every other mediocre straight guy ever.”
He shrugs Gavin off and steps back. “Ask someone else for help. I’m done talking to you.”
That proves to have gone too far as soon as Gavin shoves Connor back into the wall of a nearby building. His backpack stops his body from colliding at full force, but his head still gets knocked pretty hard. Right before Connor recovers, Gavin moves forward and punches him straight in the diaphragm. He doubles over for a moment before Gavin grabs him by the jaw and shoves his head back against the wall.
“Alright, smartass! I’ll give you one more opportunity to do this the easy way.”
It dawns on Connor just then; they’re alone. Connor is the only kid who goes home this way, and he doesn’t live in the nicest part of town. At school, there are always witnesses, no way for people to get away with beating each other up for very long. Out here, people probably won’t step in unless Connor runs for help, and he’s not sure if he can get away fast enough. At least, not without setting off his powers.
Connor bares his teeth. “Smartass this, retard that, do you even know my real name? Is your brain that small?”
Gavin hits him in the stomach again. And again. Connor thinks he hits a kidney on the third strike. And then he makes a snap decision, jerking his head to the side and biting down, hard, on Gavin’s finger.
“Ow, what the fuck?! Ow!”
Gavin recoils, clutching his hand like it’s on fire. Connor didn’t expect such a strong response, but he’s just glad he hasn’t got his back against a wall, and he wants to keep it that way. Without thinking, Connor grabs Gavin by the ears and headbutts him with all the force he can muster.
He promptly realizes a human skull is harder than he thought, so he hurts himself just as much as he hurts Gavin. And he’s within range for Gavin to reel back and knee him directly in the groin. As he curls in on himself, Gavin throws him to the ground and kicks him again in the stomach. “What the fuck is wrong with you?!”
He doesn’t stop, he even kicks and stomps on Connor’s ribs and face a few times for good measure. There’s blood in his mouth, and he’s not 100% sure it’s Gavin’s. He pulls his hood all the way over his face in an attempt to protect himself.
And a few moments later, it abruptly stops. Gavin breathes like he’s tired, but he’s not kicking Connor anymore.
“What are you doing?!” an unknown voice shouts. “Leave them alone!”
Gavin swears through gritted teeth, and Connor hears footsteps sprinting away. He doesn’t get up. The newcomer murmurs under his breath - their? It’s a masculine voice, at least - before more steps are heard. A hand rests on his shoulder. “Are you okay?”
It takes Connor a few moments to find his voice. In the meantime, he drags himself into a sitting position, wincing at the pain. He’s definitely going to have some spectacular bruises, and that’s a best-case scenario. “I think so,” he grits out.
“Can you tell me your name?”
Connor lifts his hood enough to look at the stranger. A tall guy with tawny skin, who looks to be a little older than Connor. His head is shaved, but there’s a ghost of stubble on his jaw. His eyes are heterochromatic, focused intently on Connor even as he not-too-subtly gawks at the stranger’s arms. He’s obviously athletic, and the tank top he’s wearing doesn’t leave a lot to the imagination.
Oh, right. Still bi.
And still in immense physical pain. Connor leans over and cradles some of the worse pain spots. “I’m Connor.”
“Markus,” the stranger replies.
Something feels amiss all of a sudden. It’s close to that distinct feeling Connor gets when he’s in danger, but there’s something off about it. It’s pulling him towards something instead of away; towards Markus, specifically. Some unheard epiphany is pulling at the corners of Connor’s mind, stronger and stronger until it snaps. Almost simultaneously, they speak:
“You’re like me…”

Rocketman Watch #4 Thoughts
i have so many MORE thoughts can you believe it wow here we go
(i wrote these as i watched it so they’re in order im p sure)
man, his intro monologue during group therapy is just as gripping as it was when I first watched it. And the transition to the bitch is back is so fuckin good. My palms are sweating.
There’s some commentary about forgiving and loving your inner/past child, but I don’t have the words for it at this moment. In the beginning he’s staring down, confused and scowling at his child self, but at the end, he embraces him in a way his father and loved ones never did.
Was he in therapy/rehab WHILE touring and doing music? Stomping into the room in his regalia would have me believe so. I know group therapy was a medium for storytelling. Was it just signaling the very beginning of his story, because we go through different stages through his actions and clothing changes?
Lmao I imagine it must take some pretty cool parents to allow their, like, six or seven year old child to be in this movie. He said bitch so many times.
Took me a hot second to realize the orchestra he’s conducting is playing Rocket Man. The violins are so pretty. Imagine being picked to be in the orchestra on set and getting smile up at the tiny little kid who played Elton. My heart would absolutely swell seeing a little kid being so fantastic at this really intense job.
Kit Connor did amazing in his role. He’s fifteen and he’s already done so much! Imagine growing up knowing you played Elton John as a kid. Getting to work alongside him and his husband and the dozens of incredible actors. Wowie. I’d never shut up about it.
I LOVE how 12 year old Elton is playing the piano SO HARD and is trying to rock out as hard as he can while playing classical music. The boy wanna ROCK dammit.
HE GLANCED UP THE TINIEST BIT WHEN THE MAN ASKED IF ANYONE HAD A FAG (slang for cigarette)
SATURDAY NIGHTS ALRIGHT GIVES ME CONSTANT CHILLS FROM THE START TO FINISH
WOOOW SEVENTEEN YEAR OLD ELTON IS CUTE AS HEEELLLL. The hair, glasses, and front tooth gap fit Taron so well. Goddamn I hope I look like 17 year old Elton some day.
The choreography for this number is absolutely breathtaking. You have to get that many people all in sync! We followed Elton running through the crowd and AAHHH it was a lot! The athleticism! And they did it in the rain! Wow I’m blow away.
Elton is JAMMIN in the back of the stage. It’s really sweet to see his smile and enthusiasm and his brain thinking and working.
That guy in the back peed a LOT lmao
I was wondering where thank you for all of your loving came in.
Charlie Rowe plays Ray Williams, and he also plays LEO ROTH from Red Band Society!!! The first time I watched the movie, I KNEW him from somewhere, but I couldn’t place it and it was driving me nuts. Man. RBS was a big crutch during the worst lows of my ED. Had no idea he was English.
Love to see how shy Elton was as a teenager. It’s a hot ass mood. Also, those silk scarves? Ascots? idk but they’re a LOOK.
“One frothy coffee, no froth.”
The acquaintances-to-best-friends montage set to Border Song *chefs kiss*
Rock And Roll Madonna Is A Perfect Song Send Tweet
Lmao Elton is NOT phased at all when he gets accused of being gay. He’s just like. “Nah. I’m like. Not.” Not overly defensive and surprised, like I’m sure other people would be lmaooo
STUMBLING HOME DRUNK WITH YOUR BEST FRIEND IS A MILESTONE IN TEENAGEHOOD!!!!!!!
“You are a ssSSHHIIIITT HOT piano player—”
So delicate of Bernie the way he politely denied a kiss from him. It wasn’t weird or tense at all. Just a gentle “love you, but not that way. It’s okay” Some people may not be able to handle it that well even today.
Taron’s got nice thighs. That robe & underwear getup is a nice look.
Love love LOVE hearing him experiment with Your Song on the piano to find a melody that worked.
Honestly what the shit do these songs even mean. Bernie sometimes these words don’t make any sense. Don’t worry, they still slap. “See I’ve forgotten if they’re green or they’re blue” like what
AMOREENA IS A PERFECT SONG SEND TWEET
Doug flirting with Bernie makes me snort every time. “Oh, really? That’s.. cool.”
THE TROUBADOUR OUTFIT IS GOOD AS SHIT!!!!!!!!
“NO, BERNIE. YOU ARE UNDERREACTING.”
Taron was right. The overalls do make his ass look massive.
A week ago before this movie I was sick and fuckin TIRED of crocodile rock but now I can’t get enough of it. The movie transformed a lot of old songs I was sick of for me.
Imagine being a kind of shy, nervous kid, terrified to go on stage, but two and a half minutes later the entire venue is LOSING IT because they love the jam YOU WROTE. how cool for Elton.
I want a best friend platonic cheek kiss :(
Hmmmmm I’m wondering if they used the studio recordings that went on the album for the movie or have different movie-specific recordings. Tiny Dancer sounds a teeny bit different in the movie version.
Goddamn I sure hope Taron got to keep that jacket.
“So you liked the song, then?” “Not as much as the singer” *Elton glances away in gay panic*
LMFAO John said some weird colorful words to Elton that barely made sense and he was like OH FUCK GOTTA KISS HIM GOTTA KISS HIM
I’ve talked so much about the sex scene I don’t need to go on about it here. Go search the rocketman tag on my blog for my extensive gay thoughts about it.
Now I know glasses come OFF during sex
oh oh oh I was wondering where Hercules fell in the movie. I love how the songs he’s writing or getting notoriety for is played over the transition scenes.
Elton’s hand on his hip, knowing smirk as John enters the studio. “Hello.”
Bernie is like “HELLO are we RECORDING or are y’all gonna FUCK in the CLOSET?”
*vibrating* Honky Cat Honky Cat Honky Cat Honky Cat
Damn, the flowy white button down with the red pants really is a LOOK
The gestures, staring up at each other, leaning into each other, hands on each other’s chests, damn it makes me feel some typa way. Maybe their love WAS good and fun and exciting while they rode the high of everything before it all went so so bad.
Elton searching John’s gaze while he’s talking and looking like he’s not really paying attention, just looking for a kiss on the couch.. GOD I remember the honeymoon phase of my relationships. So much fun.
His dad going “N-Not really my thing.” That was a metaphor for his SEXUALITY TOO, huh.
Damn. He went to his dad’s to come out to him and he never even got to get to that part. He was just like “....nice shoes....” and even after all this time, didn’t show any interest in his music. If he never was into what he did, how could he even talk about being gay? I’m sure during that scene there were a lot of metaphors to sexuality but I didn’t bother to think much about them.
The eyebrow quirk after his dad says “ah—no. Could you make it out to Arthur?” DAMN Elton was like .. “really. This is what’s happening? Okay. Awesome.”
“What do you have to do to get a fucking drink around here, eh?” *cuts to Elton drinking straight from a bottle*
“Elton—” “Elton!”
John saying “don’t you ever put your hands on me” when he was the one who yanked him from the phone booth AND directly after punching him... woof man. What a shitty dude.
Damn, just noticed John talking very quietly and closely to another man right before he goes on and plays Pinball Wizard. Was this the first sign of him having fun with other men when Elton was indisposed?
Pinball Wizard is absolutely intense and loud and fun, but it DOES carry the tone of “god im SO miserable” under it all. You knew Elton wasn’t having fun.
“It is next week.” Jeezus.
LMAO I just caught the “mom, you’re ON my GOWN” when he reluctantly complies to give the Anderson’s a tour.
Damn, flowy, loose dress shirts with the first few buttons undone is a LOOOOK.
How did they do the overdose scene, you think? Surely the pills Taron took had to be like. Empty. Or placebo affect drugs? Idk. He did take a big drink directly after stuffing his mouth with them. I don’t think he spit them out.
God, there is SOMETHING symbolic about how he meets his child self at the bottom of the pool. Rock bottom? Apologizing? Wishing he could be better? Telling him he’ll never be better?
OH I watched a behind the scenes cut about the pool scene, and none of it was CGI. Taron was weighted under his robe and a SCUBA diver was on standby to provide oxygen. The singing and bubbles coming out of his mouth and stuff underwater was all real.
Dying to know about the choreography around the second chorus, about the undressing and twirling and dressing and injection and handing off of the bat and stuff. That sequence was incredible.
Bennie and the Jets. Damn. It fucks. I listened to it almost the entire time on my run today. (Five miles; I felt like garbage the entire time but it was good anyway.) The scene is wild. He’s in the middle of a drug induced haze orgy. He SHOULD be having the time of his life but he’s so goddamn miserable. (Also, the juxtaposition between Chris Fleming’s Bennie and the Jets is so funny.)
Part of the problem was that John never understood Elton. But, Elton broke it off with John, not the other way around like he said it was. He wasn’t the victim in that regard. John did treat him like shit though.
Victim of Love plays right after that lmao
Renate and he aren’t even close when they do the duet to don’t let the sun go down on me. They’re separated in different rooms, mirroring literally how closed off their relationship was.
The shot with them waking up in different rooms.. damn
His shirt is so LOUD I’m going crazy
Watching Taron down that orange juice made me a little nauseous I gotta say
“Not really I’m gAy”
It’s CRAZY to watch Elton and his mom interact at the dinner scene. He gets accosted and accused of so much by his mom, claiming SHE’S the victim of his actions, making it all about HER and then he turns around and does and says the exact same shit to Bernie.
He yells “Oh, don’t be so dramatic!” at Bernie as he gets into a taxi. THE PROJECTION!! THE DEFLECTION!!!!
I know there’s only so much they can put in two hours, but I wish they showed more of Elton’s eating issues. He had bulimia for sixteen years before he got help. It’s Absolutely the Man With Anorexia in me, but seeing that even men deal with eating disorders quells the lonely aching something in me. I feel that much less alone, you know. Eating disorders aren’t a “woman’s disease.”
How do you think they did his hair? A wig adds more hair, not take it away. He didn’t get his hair cut for it did he?
Seeing Elton’s first love fall apart because John was such a selfish, heartless prick in reality makes me sad.
Elton hugs his inner child when he reconciled with everyone in his past. Goddamn. He found peace and forgiveness for himself, who he was, even after all that time.
When Elton asks him not to go, Bernie refuses, saying this is something he had to do on his own. Healing comes from within alone. No one can help you do it. People can guide you, but you have to work at it. It’s fucking lonely sometimes, but it’s so, so worth it.
I used to loathe I’m Still Standing since i heard it so much at work, but the movie changed my entire perspective on it. I love the slow build up as he exits the rehab center. You don’t get thrown into something so happy and fast paced and fun after a cathartic climax you need to drink in. And the pan to his hat with the rainbow stripe to his smile. I get chills every time. Elton feels so right and secure and happy in himself. At first I thought it was a bit cheesy, but accepting your sexuality, especially after all the hell he went through during his life, grappling with unresolved trauma and fear of abandonment, he absolutely should wear it loud and proud. It’s easy to think times are much easier now being gay, and it shouldn’t be such a big deal. Relative to 1975, it is easier. But it doesn’t mean it’s not such a rough personal thing to work through if you’ve been spit on and resented all your life. Being gay, coming out, and accepting and being comfortable with that fact must’ve been such a HUGE milestone in Elton’s recovery and self-esteem.
Love me again after I’m still standing is perfect. The credits make me tear up every time. Jeez. What a good movie. What a good movie. Hit me up if you wanna talk about Rocketman because I absolutely will with you.

Dylan Larkin #6.1
Requested by Anon:  Could you write one (Carter hart, Connor McDavid, Mitch, auston, eichs, Larkin or Nate Bastian) along the lines of: you're really shy and good friends with (player of choice) and they're super close and protective/supportive of you (like they know well so they'll like order stuff for you so you don't have to and they can read you really well) and they've kinda helped you become way less shy. But then one of their teammates makes a joke about like when will you guys date And while mentally panicking you do the whole "what no! We're best friends." And then afterward he's like really weird because he kinda just realised that he doesn't like being just your best friend and then he's really grumpy and like idk almost gets in a fight and is really reckless and then afterwards while you're waiting (because he's taking agessss) you get chatting to some guy and he's furious (idk if this is going to be wayyy to long omg) but he doesn't say anything and just doesn't  Just doesn't speak to you for ages and you're so furious so you don't speak to him and idk you can finish it (IM SORRY ITS SO LONG but I'm fuelled by angst).
*YOU GUYS! I LOVE THIS SO MUCH! This is a loooong request and so a very looong fic. You know I love me some angsty, Larks multi-parters. This is the first of 3, maybe 4, chapters. I feel so good about this and I hope you do too. Enjoy!*

Pro tip: never kick a door open when you weigh next to nothing, no matter how angry or agitated you are. Really, you’ve tried kicking down Dylan Larkin’s front door twice now and the only thing it’s gotten you is a sore foot and a wounded pride. Damn it, Dylan. Why can’t anything just go the way they’re supposed to?
Why can’t he just answer your calls or respond to your messages? Fuck, he can’t even be bothered to show up to your Sunday brunch place – the one you’ve always gone to on Sundays if he’s in town and has the time. He can’t even make up excuses because they only had home games this week.
Toning down your annoyance, you gave the door another wild knock, “I know you’re in there,” you leaned into the banister, “Dylan! I can hear Mario Kart, bitch.”
You looked around the porch to look for a comfortable place to sit in, determined to stay here until Dylan opens the door and talks to you. At this rate, you’ll have to sneak into their dressing room at the arena to see him. Whatever in the world did you do?
Okay, so the last time you saw him was at Anthony Mantha’s apartment. That was Friday night and you were there to celebrate because he was finally going to be reinstated. You had fun, some booze… maybe a little too much booze, if you are being honest, and then Dylan brought you home. Like usual.
He hasn’t talked to you since. Which is very much not like the usual.
Taking out your phone, you opened your messages and stopped until you landed on his last message, ‘I’m outside,’ was what he texted you that Friday night, telling you that he was ready to go home and that you should be too.
It’s been almost two weeks since then and this radio silence thing has got to stop, especially after his fourth fight in as many games last night. Dylan Larkin fighting: out of the ordinary but always welcomed. Dylan Larkin fighting for four games in a row: uh-oh.
Why is he so freaking angry?
Your ears perked when you heard some sort of shuffling inside. FINA-FUCKING-LY.
Except your heart deflated when the door opened and Luke Glendening appeared.
“You look like you need another layer on you,” he said as a way of saying hello, a smile playing on his face.
“If that’s your way of telling me I should leave, better luck next time brother,” you replied, sliding your phone back into your pocket and crossing your arms on your chest, “I’m not leaving until whatever’s up Dylan’s ass crawls out of it.”
For someone so big and bulky, Luke didn’t make any sort of sound as he gingerly closed the door and leaned against it, “he’s really not feeling you right now, bud,” he shook his head, “I don’t know why.”
“You and me both,” you sighed, “he hasn’t talked to me in two weeks,” you rubbed your face, “I just want him to tell me what I did.”
Straightening, Luke dangled his house keys in front of you, “I’m gonna go grab something to eat,” he said, walking down the front porch and into the driveway.
You watched him stop and turn back to face you, “tell him you found these in the porch,” he winked before tossing his keys towards you, almost hitting you on the head, “blow him or something, kid,” he laughed, “he needs to let all those steam out.”
For the record, Dylan Larkin is your best friend and nothing more. It doesn’t look it now because he’s being a jerk but he was the one who helped you overcome your stutter back in 4th grade. When he was confused whether he should go the collegiate way or give up his NCAA eligibility and go to the major juniors, you stayed up all night with him listing the pros and cons. He was there, front and center, when you graduated and you cheered the loudest when he got drafted.
There’s no Dylan Larkin without you and no you without him. It’s just the way it is.
Except apparently, there is a Dylan Larkin without you and this particular Dylan… he’s not all that amazing. He’s angry and picks fights with men like Zdeno Chara and Tom Wilson.
You let yourself in the house and followed the sound of something cooking, finding Dylan chopping some nuts in the kitchen. He’s sporting a pretty good shiner, courtesy of his last conquest: Brayden Point.
Leaning against the archway leading to the kitchen, you nodded at his blackeye, “nice shiner you got there, bud,” you casually commented, trying so hard to not yell at him.
Aaaaand nothing. He didn’t say anything, like you weren’t even there.
Hopping on the bar stool just a few feet away from him, you picked a grape and started eating, “okay,” you shrugged, “you can ignore me but that’s not gonna get you anywhere.”
Still nothing. Woah, he’s good at this silent treatment thing.
“Really?” you shook your head, picking another grape, “you’re just gonna ignore me like you’ve been doing the last few weeks?”
Taking out a book from your bag, you wiggled in your seat, “then I’m just gonna stay here and make myself comfortable.”
“Suit yourself,” he muttered, turning around to toss the nuts into the pan.
You almost fell off the stool from sheer happiness. Holy Lord, he talks.
“’Kay,” you nonchalantly turned the page of your book, not really reading. Instead, you’re watching him move around the kitchen, shoulders so tight that he looked like he needed some deep tissue massage. His cheeks were tomato-red and the bruise around his eye looked as angry as he did.
Dylan Larkin, for all intents and purposes, looks like he is not in the mood to talk to you.
“Seriously, Dyl,” you sighed, closing the book before turning to him, “what’s up?”
“Nothing,” he said, avoiding eye contact, “you should go.”
“Oh,” you huffed, chuckling a little, “no one’s leaving until you untwist your panties, boo.”
That was the worst thing you could have said. Heh.
Rolling his eyes, Dylan shoved on hand into his curls and let out a frustrated sigh, eyes suddenly piercing you in place, “what do you want?” he spat.
“I just want to know why you’re ignoring me,” for all your fake bravado and macho stuff, you really can’t get mad at Dylan. He’s too important in your life that you just can’t risk it.
“We’re best friends,” he sounded so angry that you just sat there dumbfounded. His words were a conflict to his tone so you really don’t know how to respond to that.
“Okay?” you urged.
“You said,” he let out angrily, “we’re best friends.”
“We are best friends,” you argued, “we’ve been best friends for more than half our lives, Deedee,” when in doubt, use the childhood nickname he was never really fond of.
“You told the rookie that we were best friends,” he repeated, probably referring to Michael Rasmussen, who you were talking to at the party.
Now he just sounds like a petulant child, “we ARE best friends, what is wrong with you?” you finally stepped off the stool so you can poke his chest, “why are you so angry at me for telling people that you’re my best friend, that’s the truth. You’re my best friend, right?”
“I am,” he answered back, “and I’m not angry at you,” he said, eyes softening a little, “I’m angry at myself.”
“Okay now you just don’t make any sense.”
“You said we were best friends,” he said again, taking the plate he prepared, “just best friends,” he added so silently that you almost missed it.
Dylan gave you a lopsided smile, “think about that,” he shrugged, “you know where to find me.”

Glitch in the System Review
It’s a long-ass one, and spoilers!
Played the game last night and thought I'd give some feedback and mabe ideas on how to fix some issues.
Let's start with what I liked about the game though. The characters, well written and funny, you can clearly see their personalities in the text, great. The music, fantastic, as always! All the references, easter eggs and little details are awesome. also love the story and where it's headed.
Now the issues I had. Mainly, TOO. MUCH. READING. There's so much unnecessary information in this game all the time. Pointless fillers are forced upon the player constantly and it gets annoying and boring. Filling world building information is mixed in with important progress info in one giant conversation. For example, let's take the Kara scene. You meet her and they all talk about Billy being part of their family and they're relationship and and all that kind of wholesome content. But if you're like me and you got bored and tired of all the reading at this point of the game, you probably saw the first few sentences and skipped through that whole text, only to later find out somehwere in the middle of that was information about what you need to do next. And at that point no one repeats the objective. That's bad game design, you can't have the text importnat information mixed in with the fillers like that, for the sake of people wanting to get on with the story. Some people don't care about Billy taking his meds after 3 hours of similar pointless information being poured on them all the time. I want to progress the story, I want to play more minigames, I don't wanna read a god damn novel for 4 hours straight. How do we fix that? Well I'm glad you asked. Visual story telling, reducing information into few sentences, using topic selection when talking to characters. Also add an objective panel and a skip button (in case you click on a character again by accident and have to go through all that text again). Another thing that bothered me was Anti'c voice acting (not the person who did it in particular, ur cool dude). I hope Sean's version of the game won't have that, because IF he decides to play it, we all would want HIM to do the voice. We all love the Anti voice and we would absolutely want to hear the real thing. So please consider that, guys. It's okay for the community version, it fits there, but for Sean's at least. I would also welcome more minigames! the Connor one was really fun, I want more! Also to make up for all the reading. And I also was not a fan of the DDLC style changing like 4 times for no reason. Be consistent. (yes im still salty about the ddlc stuff) That's probably all I can think of as of right now. Hope it helps and you guys will take note of it. I loved the first game and would hate to have this one disappoint me, so I wanna help out. Good luck in further development :)

Whumptober Day 3
The ever so lovely @whumptober2019 made a list of prompts to complete every day for the whole month of October and I’m giving a shot at it this year!
As always read what you can handle and do not read if you are squimish to any of the warnings.
Delirium
Characters: Hank, Connor, Sumo
Warnings: Swearing, hints of attempted suicide, alcohol abuse
There were good days and bad days. It was how life went on. Connor learned this the hard way when it came to Hanks’ recovery from being an alcoholic.
The good days were when he was able to take a sip of a beer and have only a few and be alright. He would enjoy barbecuing in the back yard while Connor played fetch with Sumo endlessly. He enjoyed the way the smoke smelled and the way the sun glittered through the maple trees. He enjoyed the distant tunes of the radio with its volume down low so Hank and Connor could converse easily.
Then the bad days.
The days when work was too much or someone said something that got too close to Hank’s nerves. When a case was back to square one. When a suspect slipped through their fingers. There were days where cases got too personal, and the old man got stuck in his head.
And then there were the really bad days. The days where Connor couldn’t save the old man from drowning. Connor supposed every human was allowed to have a few moments where they could fall to their knees and wallow in their self-pity.
But it was he who gave him his deviancy. Taught him how to truly live and see the world around them.
The least he owed him was a lifeline, a rescue float, something…He just couldn’t stand seeing him so broken.
“Fuck off… don’ need you er’ an’one. Jus…me.” He mumbled shooing Connor away with a halfhearted swat. Connor was wordless as he took away the revolver that he had promised to never dig from the closet again. Connor sat with him when he took the thing apart and buried the bullets below the floorboards.
He was sober enough to put the thing together and load it. One could never be too drunk to pull the trigger though.
Connor felt betrayed and hurt. What had him digging for the damned thing? What could have possibly made him want to end it when he was doing so well? What tipped him over?
Sumo watched as he wrapped an arm around the unstable man and slid the revolver under his belt.
“C’mon Hank…” He urged him away from the counter. This time he wasn’t sitting at the table, but instead standing at the sink.
A bottle of Black Lamb was almost gone from being tipped over and spilling into the sink. Was he pouring it out purposely last minute, or had he knocked it over in his drunken stupor?
“th’ fuck ya doin’ with me?”
Connor was wise to not answer. The less he spoke, the less he would confuse the old man. He would simply put him to bed and apologize to Fowler on his behalf for being late. The captain knew of his recovery and approved of such a turnabout.
A.A. meetings and medication, along with a hearty new diet, helped him along the way.
Connor dedicated most of his time taking care of him. Laundry, cooking, cleaning, yard work. Anything. He would help him in any way he could.
As if he were a son taking care of their elder father, Connor did it all. He owed him so much. Despite hating him, Hank managed to work alongside him, giving him a chance that probably he didn’t know he had given. He opened his door and allowed him to live alongside him. Willingly.
He owed him…so much. He couldn’t stress it enough to the questions of why he was still his partner.
He guided him to his bedroom, peeling back the covers before the man fell into the bed heavily. The android hefted him to his side to assure easy breathing, and in case he became sick, he could easily lean over the side into the wastebasket beside his bed. Connor sagged his shoulders looking down at Hank in pity. He was doing so well. But…
It was alright. Everyone was entitled to have bad days. Tomorrow they would pick up the pieces and…and attempt to move on again. The revolver rested heavy against his hip.
“Goodnight Hank, I will see you in the morning.” He covered him to his waist, leaving him half-covered just how he knew he liked it.
“Fuck off…”
A flick of a sad smile at his lips. He whistled for Sumo, and the old dog was heard going to his feet and padding his way down the hall, click of his claws tip-tapping calmly.
The android smiled as he guided the dog into bed. His hips were getting rough in his old age, after all. “Good dog.” He murmured, stroking him twice before ruffling his floppy ears.
He went to leave, hand raising to turn off the bedside light but a curt breath from the man left him. Connor creased his eyebrows together in worry. Was he choking? Was his breathing acting up?
“Hank?”
Against the dim light, he saw the shining of tears against weathered and beaten skin. Connor’s heart did something he didn’t know it could.
It felt tight and clenched as if a fist gripped it so.
“M’ so sorry son’….”
Connor’s lips pursed into an unsure line. “Hank, I…it’s alright. We can work on this. Together.” he offered a half-smile. “In the morning. Right now sleep. Right, Sumo?”
The dog huffed.
“No, no, ya too good fer’ me. I couldn’t ever…‘serve cole-don’ ‘serve you.”
He narrowed his eyes, trying to decipher what he was saying. “Lost im’ and now m’ losin ya. Such a loser. Deadbeat fuckin’ cop…bullet in the f’kin head.”
He didn’t think his heart could break even more. “Hank that’s-that’s not true. I’m not going anywhere, I mean. Literally.” He really didn’t have any place to go. New Jericho was already welcoming androids into the new living complexes but that…wouldn’t feel like home.
“Home is here with you, Hank. Truly.”
Another one of those heartbreaking sobs left him. His hands reached out for him. Connor lifted his hand, wondering if it was what he was searching for. The old man gripped it desperately, confirming that it was.
“Too good ta me…take care of me an’ ev’ry. I don’t say it nough’.”
Connor remained silent, clutching his hand.
“I love ya kid…so fukin’ much…”
Connor felt his throat tighten. His eyes stung at the corners, and his mouth moved, but no words felt from them. Who was he to fool himself? He knew what he wanted to say. He crouched down, placing a hand against the side of his face. A watery smile crossed his lips, and he nodded.
They would start over tomorrow just like they always did. One step at a time. It was alright. Connor didn’t mind.
“I love you, too, dad.“

Deviating Love Affair - Part 1
Tumblr media
Prologue
Soulmate AU with DBH Connor
Pair: Connor x Female! Reader
Prompt: In this universe, you are supposed to receive a tattoo of your soulmate’s name on your 18th birthday.  However, you being the lucky winner, never received one on that special day.  After years go by, you began to accept the fact that maybe you were never destined to have a soulmate until one day, on August 5th, 2038, you see a certain individual’s name gets written on your wrist.  Not only is it odd that your soulmate tattoo wasn’t given to you on your 18th birthday but that in reality, your soulmate isn’t even human.
Word count: 1320 words
A/N: I just wanted to drop by and say thank you for all of your kind words on the prologue. I was so overwhelmed (in a good way) and I’m so glad to see that you all are excited about this series. Just an FYI, I’m not planning on making this series very long (since I like shorter more thought out series) but we’ll play it by ear. I hope you guys enjoy the first part of“Deviating Love Affair”! If you guys would like to be added/removed from the tag list, please send me an ask (it is much easier to track)!
Months went by and you still had not met your destined significant other.  Within the first couple of weeks, after you had finally received your tattoo, you were both excited and eager to find this man named Connor.  However, as you kept reaching dead ends and going on crappy dates, you slowly began to give up.  This was nothing new to you; you had spent years having no soulmate tattoo, no indicator that the universe had a person who was destined to belong with you.  Waiting a little longer wouldn’t do you any harm.
You looked outside of your kitchen window and watched the rain as you waited for the water to finish boiling so you could brew your tea.  You had decided to take advantage of your night off by catching up on your favorite book.  Once the kettle began to whistle, you grabbed the nearest hand towel and carefully poured the hot water into your cup.  You placed the kettle back on the stove and made your way to the couch before getting yourself comfortable and opening up your book.
What only felt like minutes (in reality it had been nearly an hour), you received a call from the one and only Jeffrey Fowler.  You groaned internally before you answered the phone, “Hello?”
“I am putting you in charge of the deviancy cases with Hank.  Your first one is at 6413 Pines Street, Detroit.  Get there right now and wait for him before you start the investigation, that is if he even shows up.”
“But today is my day off,” you muttered under your breath.
“You said you wanted more work out on the field so that’s what I’m giving you, now get moving and don’t complain.”
Without another word, Fowler had hung up the phone.  You sighed in frustration before you got up from your comfortable position to get ready to leave. You picked up your phone with the intention of calling Hank; however, you quickly stopped yourself knowing damn well that he was out drinking and wanted nothing to do with androids or this investigation.
Once you reached the address Fowler had given you, you decided to wait on the patio and out of the rain.  Collins emerged from inside and made his way to you.  “Is Anderson coming?”
“Not sure,” you started, “but I highly doubt that he will.”
After about an hour and a half of waiting, you finally noticed Hank’s beat up Oldsmobile making its way through the crowd of people on the street, all desperate to see why the DPD was here at this time of day.  You watched as Hank got out of the driver’s seat and made his way towards you.  “You’re late,” you said.
“Well at least I’m here aren’t I?” Hank replied.
“To be completely honest, I really didn’t think you would show up.”
“Yeah well that was the plan until this asshole showed up,” Hank replied while gesturing to an Android that you failed to notice.
You looked at the android up and down before looking back at Hank and saying, “You...and an android….together? Man, you are full of surprises today,” you said with a smile.
“Oh shut it,” he said, walking past you.
“Let the poor guy in,” you said to the android cop refraining Hank’s Android from entering the vicinity. You watched as the Android made his way to you before stopping front of you. You examined his jacket and noticed his model number, RK800, a model you did not recognize.  “I’m (Y/N) by the way,” you said.
To your discretion, Connor had already analyzed everything he needed to know about you, your name, how you were the youngest on the force, how you had no criminal records, basic information like that.  However, he found himself intrigued with your presence, how you leaned on your left foot with your arms crossed in front of you, how your hair blew in the wind, and how your eyes lit up when you smiled.
SOFTWARE INSTABILITY ^
“My name is Connor, I’m the android sent by Cyberlife.”
You froze.  The name Connor rung in your head making you immediately glance at your wrist, the same name written with dark blue ink in simplistic writing.  Could he be the one you were looking for?  He couldn’t be, right? He wasn’t a human, he was an android. You had not waited this long for an Android.
“Officer?” Connor’s voice snapped you back to reality, “Are you alright? You haven’t said a word in over 46 seconds.”
“Yeah, yeah I’m fine.”
“Shall we begin the investigation?” he asked while gesturing to the door.
“Yes.  Yes of course,” you said quickly before stepping inside.
You silently watched Connor throughout the entirety of the investigation, admiring his ability to gather evidence and quickly piece together the events of the crime, in the proper order.  Additionally, you found yourself studying his movements, how his eyebrows would furrow slightly when he was analyzing evidence or when piecing information together, or how he would give his full undivided attention to you or Hank whenever either one of you spoke.
Little did you know that Connor was examining you in the same light.  He noticed the little things you did like how you would tap your fingers against your thighs or how you would suck in your lips whenever you were in deep thought.  He also found your subtle eye rolls, whenever you were annoyed with someone’s commentary, to be very entertaining.
SOFTWARE INSTABILITY ^
Connor also noticed how you kept glancing at your wrist.  He watched as you ran your thumb lightly over your skin with an intense look etched on your face.  Connor, full of curiosity, wanted to ask you about the significance of your arm; however, before he could do so, Hank had called him over to discuss the clues.  Connor was slightly relieved to be interrupted since he knew he could not have any distractions if it meant locating the deviant and completing his mission overall. However, a part of him wanted to know more about you as if something was gravitating him towards you.  Connor shook this “feeling” away and concentrated on his task at hand, and in the end, successfully located the deviant.
You smiled as you watched the police androids take the deviant away. You glanced back at Connor who was talking with Hank. You noticed that Connor wasn’t like most androids, aside from all of his tech and abilities, he seemed different overall. You quickly waved at Hank and Connor letting the two of them know that you were leaving before making your way to your car.
Before you could open the door, you heard the sound of running footsteps followed by the words, “Officer!”
You turned around and noticed that it was Connor who was calling for you. “Yes Connor?” you asked with a warm smile.
Now it was Connor’s turn to be a loss for words. For the first time in his short life, he did not know his reasons for his actions. He truthfully did not know why he had run to you or why he had stopped you in your tracks. All he knew was that your smile blew him away, something which had never happened to him in his life. After a couple of seconds, Connor was finally able to formulate words and said, “Well, it has been a pleasure working with you tonight. I hope to see you again soon?” He asked.
“Something tells me we’ll be seeing each other a lot in the future,” you replied with a small smile, “Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m really tired and would very much like to go home.”
“Yes of course,” he said before taking a step back allowing you to open your car door.
“Goodnight Connor,” you said with a smile before stepping into your car and driving away.
“Goodnight (Y/N).”

The Big Damn MCU Rewatch: Iron Man (2008)
Tumblr media
Even looking back over a decade later, it’s hard to find a lot to criticize about Jon Favreau’s Iron Man. When you consider that Marvel went with a very dangerous choice of actor in the recently-rehabbed Robert Downey Jr., to play a third-tier comic book character and spent $140 million making the movie, it really was one helluva gamble.
Of course, the gamble paid off. Iron Man grossed over $580 million at the box office, the second biggest movie of 2008 behind The Dark Knight and launched the multi-billion-dollar Marvel Cinematic Universe we all know and love with a pretty big bang.
Watching it for the first time in a few years, I’m struck by how well the tech holds up. The only things which look dated are the phones (oh my God, Tony, that LG VX9400 looked HILARIOUS).
Tumblr media
The combination of real armour, both metal and rubber, and CGI which was used to make Tony’s suits looks as real, if not more so, than the armour in the more recent movies. And when I say ‘more so’ I mean it has nuts and bolts and screws and it makes clanks and squeaks… it looks like there’s weight to it, unlike the entirely-CGI armour we’re seeing now. As an engineer, I gotta say I like the older stuff. A bit like the animatronic dinosaurs in the original Jurassic Park, there’s something to be said for actors getting to interact with tangible objects as opposed to talking to an eyeball on a stick.
Moving on to the storytelling and the acting, I’m going to cover these two together, because I don’t really think anyone could have portrayed the story of the drunken playboy sobering up when the real world hits him hard in the face as well as Robert Downey Jr. (thank goodness Tom Cruise turned the role down, amirite???) The storytelling in Iron Man really is amazing. Stark’s still fundamentally a spoiled genius, but by the end of Iron Man he’s a spoiled genius with a conscience and the will to make a difference. Pepper, of course, is the one who sees his downfall early on; she warns him that his hubris will destroy him, in a refrain which repeats over and over again for Tony throughout the MCU’s entire arc up to the current time, really. Pepper is Tony’s voice of reason, which makes it only logical that he makes his worst decisions when she’s not around to check him (ahem, Ultron, Civil War).
I’m just going to mention Terrence Howard as the actor who originally portrayed Rhodey; I didn’t know this, but apparently Howard ended up being the highest paid actor on Iron Man. Offered a pay cut for the sequel, he turned it down and was replaced by Don Cheadle, who to be honest I’ve always thought was a bit too old to play Rhodey. It’s a shame Marvel didn’t put their hand in their pocket and pay Howard what he deserved, because he did a damn good job and I’d like to see him still playing the role today.
Favourite moment in the movie: The boys and I definitely agree that it’s “My turn” when Tony comes out of the cave and flamethrowers the terrorists’ camp to charred rubble. Incidentally, they pointed out that Avengers: My Turn would be an excellent alternative title for Endgame, too.
Best one-liner: The boys are sticking with “My turn”. For me, it’s “Let’s face it, this isn’t even the worst thing you’ve caught me doing”.
Least favourite moment: Connor says when Tony and Pepper almost kissed. (He’s 9. Kissing bits are not his favourite thing.) Kieran said when Yinsen died, which ran a very close second for me to when Pepper likened Christine Everhardt to trash. That was an unnecessarily woman-bashing and slut-shaming line to write in, particularly since Everhardt is actually a ‘good guy’... she’s a journalist with a conscience who gets angry with Tony when she thought he’d sold weapons to terrorists. We didn’t need to see the only two named female characters in this movie have a verbal catfight.
Overall star rating: 9/10. Incredible storytelling, great acting and special effects which hold up superbly a decade later. There isn’t much not to like.
