Ohhh
Just saw someone(s) being rude about Vil's night cap and i just ?????
Like i don't really care if you don't like the style BUT it feels really really off if you're mad about that night cap, as an article itself.
So like, do some of y'all just straight up don't know about silk scarves for hair? Silk bonnet, silk scarves, silk wraps, silk durags?
Like some of y'all don't seem to know about the concept of bonnets
What he's wearing is actually a nice standard style of silk night wrap. I've seen friends wear styles like that, my neighbor wears that, people wear that type of thing for their nightly routine. To protect their hair
Idk it just feels very very icky that something as innocent as a silk night bonnet/silk night wrap is catching SUCH flack from some of y'all, especially considering that that style is pretty common amongst African Americans, Puerto Ricans and also common for literally anyone with curly wavy hair who is trying to make sure it doesn't get dried out or damaged. Like I've known people who wear that, i know friends who wear that, i know neighbors who wear that, i know family who wear that.
I only feel like it's icky because it's not like people are pointing out their dislike of the coloration, the patterning, perhaps even the tying method. They're getting mad about the fact that Mr. Model, Mr. "I have a 12 step routine for my face alone", the World Class model Vil Schoenheit, is using a silk wrap to protect his hair during his sleep. Like yeah .. idk man, it's fitting. It makes sense. Also he looks fine? His clothes are comfy? His shirt is loose and comfy and he put his hair up. He's going to bed, excuse him for not putting on a corset and heels. Not only that they're getting mad about a silk scarf, a silk wrap, that man is wearing a silk durag for the sake of his hair and it does feel icky that some of y'all decided that it's garbo???
I don't have the brain energy to truly get into it but like it's just a silk wrap and some of y'all are being rude and weird (and even outright confused) about a very normal article to wear for hair care
Is literally just a relatively standard satin silk wrap, a bonnet

Idk The flack he's getting just feels different from the other hat sleepers, where it was just comparisons to like scrooge or stock photo old man pjs, whereas vil is getting some folks acting affronted. I think i would get if you made some meme comparisons (that one meme where someone in a bonnet is explaining something to someone wrapped up in bed)
It's not that huge of deal, and i only made this to vent, i refuse to actually get dragged into any of it. You're entitled to your opinion, especially for fictional characters.
Love Vil Schoenheit, they could never make me hate you and i like that he wears something i am quite familiar with (will say that the vibes with that fit are very early riser, blasting music at 6 am while loudly making breakfast and if you sass him when he asks you to set the table he tries to hit you with a chancla, idk vil is a chancla wielder in my heart)
Love you vil

Notifications for this post are OFF cause this is more so me venting about some folks being weird about his night wrap and there's no fandom worth any type of genuine drama about fictional blorbos, I'm not wasting my oxygen my calories and moments of my actual life getting roped into any fandom engagement that doesn't give me fulfillment. Blorbo defending? Fulfilling. Ranting about fic ideas and analyzing fave media? Fulfilling. Arguing with strangers? Beefing with folks over fictional characters? Not fulfilling. Thus i make separate post
#(It also feels off-putting that it's the article itself#an article that catches flack because of stereotypes from bigotry)#that is that article that is catching flack on vil and people are calling it a plastic bag etc#fiden rants#twister wonderland rant#twisted wonderland#vil schoenheit#notifications are OFF

I don’t ship most of these myself , but your rant/ramble posts on Les Mis ships are funny so I genuinely wanted your opinion on these 👁
1. Enjoltaire
2. Valvert
3. Enjonine
4. Marisette (or whatever Marius x Cosette was called)
5. Javonine (Javert and…Eponine 😭)
6. Marionine (A name a just guessed for Marius x Eponine because I wasn’t bothered to look it up)
7. and uhhh.. Granjonine (I think that was the name)
well hello darling! i live to entertain lol lets get into it i might have to put this under a cut because i think its obvious i have a rambling issue
Enjoltaire : a classic for good reason. they seemed really base level to me at first because i watched the movie first, but once i read the brick and really saw their dynamic i fell for them HARD. for me the beauty of this pairing is really rooted in the substance of their individual characters as opposed to like a romantic relationship. idk its so difficult for me to verbalize why i love them so much i think i just love the idea of finding common ground despite difficulties. enjolras and grantaire mirror each other in such a beautiful way that i feel the musical/movie couldn't really capture without demoting it to a puppy love grantaire/mean enjolras dynamic idk i have such an issue with some portrayals of them because i feel like they create a victim/abuser situation where there wasn't one but that's like a whole post within itself anyway i feel like im getting incoherent i love exr with every fiber of my fucking being just read the brick if you don't get it ok the movie and musical just dont do it justice and for the love of god avoid the fics written in 2012/2013 after the movie hype its all wRONGGGG (i love you george blagden but you created a twink grantaire movement) (they pull each others pigtails okay its a mutual obsession) (enjolras why don't you just ignore him baby? glutton for punishment my dear we all know if you hated him you wouldn't let him hang around) (anyway) i should make a seperate post about my exr feelings bc i could talk ab them for hours
2. Valvert: okay this is where i feel like i can be unpopular with the fandom. i fucking hate this ship. like physically, spiritually, all that. its one of those that i kinda lose respect for the person bc its literally a cop/prisoner thing. its not enemies to lovers. its not a hate love thing. javert's a fucking cop. valjean is his victim. the whole idea of people romanticizing this makes me feel so insanely icky and i think the point of the story has just gone RIGHT over some folks' heads please take a step back and think about it. neolib behavior sorry not sorry
3. Enjonine: enjolras is gay. just like, straight up in the brick enjolras is a gay man. this ship is spawned from straight girls who saw aaron tveit and use eponine as their not like other girls posterchild. just a whole bunch of hetero nonsense. same behavior as the joseph quinn enj x reader bs. honey thats a homosexual man and can we please stop reducing eponine to needing a boyfriend she needs a stable home and a goddamn therapist fucking hell
4. Marisette: okay. i LOVE THEM. i'm a cosette stan myself, and i'm a huge fan of a gooey love at first sight situation. they contrast my love for exr in the sense that they're a very easy love. their parts in the book literally make me SWOOOOOON i can put aside my beef with marius as a combeferre kin to appreciate how sweet they are
5. Javonine??: im sorry wh aht. did the snape x hermione shippers leak into the lm fandom or am i being fucking punked im not discussing this its obvious why this is wrong please tell me its obvious y'all are NASTY
6. Marionine: eh. eh. i mean, like i said with enjonine eponine's problems are not gonna be solved with a dude. i'm really not opposed to them, persay, its just that eponine's love for marius is so incredibly dependent and rooted more in her personal trauma than actual love, so i feel a little weird with them sometimes. sometimes it just gives anti cosette vibes (cough cough bc of the bullshit love triangle angle that the musical markets cough cough) so i tread very carefully with them
7. Granjonine: again what in the damn hell. i'm not dignifying this shit they could be besties but for the love of god george blagden did a number on the straight girls. STOP PROJECTING ONTO EPONINE IM GONNA LOSE MY FUCKING MIND LEAVE HER ALONE
thanks for the ask lovely, i do love rambling even though these ships are baffling lmaoooo

you know, though I won't hesitate to say the series has its flaws, the Saw movies are really good at creating atmosphere, the way they handle body horror, and writing twist endings that actually make sense upon multiple viewings.
(I mean, yeah, on the last one they get pretty silly, but my point is the stories follow their own internal logic. if you can suspend your disbelief enough to watch the movie in the first place, then the movie will make more sense upon your second viewing onward.)
#does the body horror get pretty gratuitous? yes but it also becomes very cartoony in a satisfying way#the one thing that the Saw movies are known for that I think another movie does better are the themed death traps#sorry dude but you're up against a Vincent Price movie on that one and I'm just terribly fond of The Abominable Dr. Phibes#as far as things the Saw movies do that I don't like that's mainly the unfortunately genre typical ableism#and my one beef with the fandom is the weird idea some folks get that Jigsaw is actually good#don't get me wrong I know what kind of movie I'm watching and I often enjoy Jigsaw winning in the end#but that comes from these movies being entertainment and not out of any idea that Jigsaw is morally correct

My beef with the Monster High/Ever After High fandom
I promised myself I would never make a post like this but hey, today I got a review on my fanfiction.net page that kinda pissed me off so now I’m gonna post this.
So, only a small handful of people who have been following my blog for a while know that before I was in the TF2 fandom, I was writing fanfiction for Monster High and even Ever After High (if you’re unfamiliar, basically they were franchises based dolls made by Mattel). I did this all throughout high school and I got pretty popular on FF.net because of it.
The fandom wasn’t all bad, I should clarify: I met really cool and interesting people in there, and I even made a friend, so generally I had a positive experience. However, then there were the...not so good people. Now, I’m gonna be gentle when I tell these stories, because I’m pretty sure many of these people were actual children, but I think a few of them were really adults or at least people who were a little older than I was at the time, so I don’t really have many hang-ups about sharing these stories.
The first major thing that happened was about five years ago, when I was browsing other people’s fanfics, and I happened across one that seemed very familiar. I started reading it, and a that was when I realized that the author of the story I found had practically plagiarized a story I had written a few days earlier. I don’t mean like they just stole my idea, but there were parts of the story that were obviously copied and pasted from the thing I had written but just re-arranged differently so it looked like an original piece. The craziest part was that when I looked at the comments, nobody had any idea those parts were stolen although it was completely obvious the author had not written them. The sections that the author actually wrote themselves were littered with bad grammar and typing errors, while the rest had been proofread (how do I know? Because I wrote them!). I was super pissed off, and I was about to message the person when I checked their bio and saw that they were like 11 or something, and while I personally think kids that young should NOT have a social media presence, I kinda let it slide. This kid was really young, they probably didn’t know any better, so I just let it go. Looking back, though, I feel like I should have at least said something since no one else was calling them out and they weren’t going to learn until someone talked to them.
About two years after that incident, I started writing story that was a crossover with Monster High and Ever After High, and...HOOOO BOY. That brought some weird folks out of the wood work. I can only think it was because I started writing for a bigger audience, but for some odd reason an adult man messaged me and tried to pay me $50 to write a weird fetish fanfic involving Ever After High characters, and he had really specific words and phrases he wanted me to use in the fic. I was really creeped out and said no, but he kept messaging me about it until I just blocked him. What’s even weirder is that I’m pretty sure I was like seventeen or so when this interaction took place, so...yikes.
Around the same time, another user messaged me asking if I took requests. I said yes and asked what it was they were requesting, and they suddenly launched into this entire description of a Thomas the Tank Engine and Ever After High crossover fanfic and sent me a link to a very specific song they wanted me to base it off of. I was caught off guard and didn’t answer for a few minutes, which caused them to become really paranoid and they started asking me if I was going to block them. I hesitantly replied and just told them it sounded like a lot of work but I would look into it later, and they accepted that answer and never messaged me again. It was really odd, to say the least.
Also worth mentioning was the person who left what had to be at least fifteen messages in my PM inbox and like eight different reviews on the same story literally DEMANDING that I write a chapter about their favorite character (the character in question was Twyla, by the way). I sensed this person was also really young, so I replied and kindly told them that she wasn’t part of the story yet, but if they wanted to they could request a separate story about her. Well, this kid got REALLY frustrated and tried to start an argument with me, and when I asked them to leave me alone they called me a ‘bitch’, so I just blocked them.
Eventually I stopped updating my crossover fic since I never found a good way to continue it, but there’s one person who keeps leaving reviews on not just that story but also the various TF2 fics I’ve reuploaded there. They keep begging me to continue it, and normally I’d just ignore it but what’s really strange is that they seem to come back and leave comments every few months. I just got one from them earlier today, which was what made me write this. I get the feeling this person is a kid, but I swear to god I get really pissed off when I open my email and go, “Oh cool, I got a review” only to find out it’s this same person who’s been begging me to update a story I haven’t touched in two years. It’s also irritating when they leave comments about that particular story on my unrelated TF2 stories, because it’s super clear that they just see me as source of entertainment rather than a real person who makes fan content.
I dunno, I guess people like this exist across all fandoms, but I’ve only ever experienced this kind of weird entitlement when I was in these two fandoms. I can only think it was because there’s a lot of children present in these fandoms, but like...I dunno, man. Weird stuff.

I guess this is kind of life related, but sometimes I feel like fandom is one big clique and I don’t fit in. Whenever I feel myself maybe making friends, I’m quickly reminded that I’m not ‘in’ or anything like that. Sorry, I just wanted to get that off my chest. It doesn’t have anything to do with The X-Files yet at the same time, it does because it ruins how I enjoy the show.
Oh noooo 😟
I most certainly have felt this way many many many times. I’ve made so many posts about feeling like a loser outsider, or like walking into the lunch room in middle school and not knowing where to sit. I think the most important thing to remember is that lots of other people are feeling that too, and that most people have no idea who’s sitting on the “outside.” No one (or almost no one because there’s probably a handful of a-holes, as there are everywhere) is really being actively and purposely exclusive and cliquey.
It sucks, but it seems like the only two things that bring anyone “in” are cons/ meet-ups and creating original content. And not everyone can or wants to do those things (I have too much social anxiety for cons and have only been brave enough to meet one fan friend IRL as of yet). Even if you write or draw, if you’re in a creative dry spell, it can feel like you’ve suddenly been excluded, or like you’re on the other side of two-way glass, looking in at all these friends who forgot you.
What I’m trying to say is that I feel you, anon. Even though we all enjoy the same show, we are very different people, and we even enjoy the show differently sometimes, which creates all kinds of strange little factions. This fandom is definitely NOT one big clique--the longer i’m here, the more I notice little fissures and beefs and weirdnesses. There are maybe just little pockets of friends here and there (which even I’m mostly oblivious to).
For me, finding someone I click with has always been really really difficult, in real life friendships and in the fandom. I’m a weirdo hobgoblin who’s oddly both anxious that no one likes me and selective about friends. But when I do (so very rarely) connect with someone, it’s one of the only things that helps me feel less on the outside. So I guess my suggestion is to reach out to folks here and there, if you’re comfortable with that, until you make some connections. It can make a difference.
❤️❤️
