Huntmira Week 2021 Day 4: Human AU
Tumblr media
“Hey you’re the new transfer student right? My name is Amity and as your class rep I’ll be giving you a tour of the school. Follow me and don’t fall behind. We have a schedule to keep and we are already running late.” said the cotton candy haired girl as she started walking briskly away. “Come on I wasn’t kidding I will leave you behind if you don’t hurry.”
“Alright so you already know where the office is. If you get in any trouble this is where they’ll bring you. Down that hallway over there is the school library which you have access to at any time during school hours. Come on, we're already running behind schedule so we don’t have time to see it.” she stated as she continued walking forward at a fast pace.
“Now the school is essentially divided into four parts each of which is assigned to a different grade level. Essentially it is meant to give students more time in between classes so they can get whatever materials they need from their lockers. Speaking of which, this one is yours.” she noted as she came to a sudden stop. “The number and the combination are on the welcome packet you received at the front desk. As you may have assumed already this is the freshman hallway apart from electives all of your other classes will  be here. Any questions? No? Good. Let’s keep moving.” without so much as a pause she turned on her heels and started moving at the same brisk pace.
“The hallway to your left leads to the juniors hall and the sophomore hall was the first hallway to your left when you entered the school. As for the senior hall that would be the separate building at the back of the school. The cafeteria is right at the center of the school and it also doubles as a social area. And this is the gym.” she stated as they reached a large oval shaped building separated from the rest of the school. “Hopefully nobody notices we are late” grumbled Amity under her breath as she opened the door.
As soon as the door opened a roar of cheers washed over the pair as they entered the building. The gymnasium was filled with the entirety of the student body who appeared to be completely enthralled by whatever the captain of the girl’s basketball team was saying. She along with the rest of the basketball team were standing at the center of the gym with the school principal standing a few feet to the side beaming with pride.
Amity ignored them completely as she tried to make out where her friends were in the stands. Without saying a word she tugged on the transfer student’s sleeve to get them to follow her.
“Hey Amity, you made it. Oh is this the new transfer student” whispered Willow as Amity took the empty seat behind her. “Yeah sorry we’re late I had to give them a quick tour before coming here.” grumbled Amity as she thought about how late they were.
“Oh don’t mind Amity she can be a bit grumpy in the mornings . . . and afternoons. I’m Willow by the way” she said in a cheery voice. “I’m Gus! Your family just moved to Gravesfield right? said the young man sitting next to Willow. “You’re going to need someone to give you a run down of what you need to know abouts Gravesfield. But never fear Gus is here.” Boasted the youth before proceeding to give the transfer student a rundown.
“The first thing to know is that Gravesfield athletes are mini celebrities in town. If there is one thing Gravesfield High is known for it would be our sports teams. And because there is only one high school everyone in town gets pretty into it.” explained Gus with excitement but before he could continue the school principal called for everyone's attention the gymnasium became quiet.
“Now that we have heard from our athletes who will be representing our school out in the field it is time to hear from our student council.”exclaimed principal Bump as a small group of students made their way to the center of the gymnasium.
Rather than applauding the student body stayed quiet as the youths continued to make their way to the center. There were only three of them but their presence  alone commanded the attention of every individual in the gymnasium.
“Oh boy” mumbled Amity too herself as she saw her two siblings take center stage along with their best friend hunter.
The three stood in a line facing the other students with Hunter in the middle with Edrick to his left and Emira to his right. The tension in the gymnasium had started to increase when without raising his voice Edric said “Hey” giving the students a sly smile. Without any warning the entire gym burst into a cacophony of cheers. Which only intensified when Emira gave them a wink.
“They really are popular aren’t days,” noted Willow as she looked at Amity who was trying to shrink into herself from embarrassment.
“This must be really weird for you to see huh?” shouted Gus  over the crowd to the transfer student. “ Yeah, if the athletes are celebrities then the members of the student council are royalty.” said Gus before pausing for dramatic effect.
“The twins are Edric and Emira Blight. Edric is the treasurer and Emira is the vice president. They are on the top of their class, always the leads in any school play, and probably the most charismatic people you’ll ever meet. Also if that name sounds familiar it’s because more than likely your parents bought your new home from their mom Odalia Blight. She is the most well known real estate agent in the area. Not only that but their family also owns a security company. You might have seen some homes with a sign that says “protected by Blight security."
"Some? Don't you mean all? Every building in Gravesfield uses Blight security. And aren't you forgetting one very important Blight?" Added Willow as she nudged her head towards Amity.
"Oh right Amity is also a Blight and she has the top spot in the freshman class she's als…"
"That's ok no need for my resume " Interrupted Amity with a face that shows equal amounts of annoyance and embarrassment.
"Suit yourself " shrugged Gus. "Anyway the blond guy between the twins is the school president Hunter Wittebane. If he looks familiar it's because he's on all the promotional posters with his uncle Mayor Belos. He is the most influential man in Gravesfield and Hunter will definitely follow in his uncle's footsteps. He is the captain of all the boys sports teams as well as the debate club, book club, and history club. Honestly he’s a very intimidating guy if you think about it.” mused Gus.
“You know there’s a lot of rumors of how he became school president during his freshman year. They don’t normally allow freshmen to run.” puzzled Willow not asking anyone in particular but was loud enough for other students to hear and joined in the conversation.
“I heard his uncle threaten the school” said a girl sitting in the row under theirs.
“I heard the twins charmed the school principal to let him run,” said the girl next to her.
“I heard a rumor that people added his name to the ballot when they heard he was dating one of the twins.” said a boy from somewhere above them.
“I heard he was dating both” shouted someone else from a distance.
“Silence,” a commanding voice rang through the gymnasium as all the students fell quiet. Hunter had stepped up to the mic and was now scowling the students in front of him.
“Thank you,” he said in an almost gloating tone with a smug smile on his face.
“It's good to see that everyone is so excited about school.” whispered Emira giving Hunter a sly smile causing him to roll his eyes.
“As you all know we are the current members of the student council. We are here to let you know elections will be coming up soon and we encourage anyone interested to go run for a position in the student council. Just know that we will also be running to keep our positions. Now if you excuse us we have work to do.” boasted Hunter before turning on his heels and making his way out of the gym.
The twins waved goodbye to the crowd causing the gymnasium to erupt into a fit of cheers which could be heard even after they had left the gymnasium.
"Do you two always have to be so extra?" Mumbled Hunter as he walked down the hallway.
"Oh don’t be like that Hunny" said Edric as he put an arm around Hunter and gave him a flirtatious smile.
"Yeah it's not our fault that the crowd loves us." chimed in Emira as she clinged to Hunter’s arm.
“Yeah right and don’t call me Hunny” scoffed Hunter who by now should be used to the twins' shenanigans but they always found new ways to annoy him.
Both twins let go of Hunter at the same time and let out a gasp as they feigned being shocked. “But you used to love us calling you Hunny” Groaned Edric while pretending to cover some tears.
“Our little Hunny is growing up. He's embarrassed of us now.” said Emira as she mimiqued her brother’s reaction.
Hunter let out a long sigh as he looked at his best friends pretending to cry. Even knowing there were no tears there he just could not bear the thought of upsetting them. These two had been his best friends, his only real friends since pre school. Because his uncle was such a powerful and influential man many people tried approaching Hunter as a means of getting close to his uncle. He understood that the twins felt the same because of how often people approached them for their families business connections and wealth. Then there were those who were too scared to approach any of them because they found them intimidating or just out of reach.
They had never cared about who his uncle was just as he did not care about their families business.  He just couldn’t imagine what his life would be like if they hadn't approached him on their first day of pre-school.
The twins had stopped pretending to cry once they saw the expression on Hunter’s face. “Hey you ok?” asked Emira, genuinely concerned as she approached Hunter.
“If it bothers you that much we’ll stop” sniffled Edric as real tears were threatening to break through.
Hunter looked at the pair and could not help himself from smiling appone seeing their grief stricken faces. These were his favorite people in the world just as they were the most annoying.
“I hate you guys.” said Hunter with a smirk.
To this both twins lit up and latched on to either one of his arms as they continued walking down the hallway before saying in  unison “Aww we love you too Hunny.”
“Stop calling me that” demanded Hunter as he let himself be pulled away by the two.

26. I Hate This Fandom, and I Hate All of You
I absolutely stole this line from an old friend in the Glee fandom, because it’s one that I think about EVERY TIME a fandom gets on my nerves, much the way that even this fandom does and in particular Simon stans. Idk what to tell y’all if y’all feel some type of way... be better people. ANYWHO! Shoutout to my friend for a quote that still means a lot to me 10 years later. Word Count: 4119
Previous
There was a lot of buzz surrounding the mini vacation for Simon’s birthday. Their families were together in Belize. Simon’s photos only reflected Simon either being with Grace and Hazel on the trip, or Grace. For the type to hyperfixate and go through everyone’s pages, they could find entire group photos and stuff on Mr. Laurent’s and Mrs. Monroe’s pages as Mr. Monroe didn’t have social media and Mrs. Laurent’s wasn’t sophisticated (inspirational quotes and recipes and DIYs that she was never going to actually try). Simon’s selected photos always looked like professional stills of the scenery, candids and capturing all the beauty possible, while Grace took hundreds of photos of everything from hijinks and mishaps to food to selfies, and they always just looked like somebody living her best life.
But, someone asked, “Are you in Belize with Grace Monroe?” on Simon’s photo of a pair two pairs of bare feet in the dirt - one an older person, dark brown skin, several scars from previous damages and new callouses, and a younger person’s lighter brown skin and cutesy temporary tattoos on the base of their feet.
“Grounding, also called earthing, is a therapeutic technique that involves doing activities that “ground” or electrically reconnect you to the earth. This practice relies on earthing science and grounding physics to explain how electrical charges from the earth can have positive effects on your body.” Simon had put as the caption. In the same photo set, you could see an image of his own feet in the dirt, and...
“These are Grace and Hazel Monroe’s feet, right???” When they flipped through the set, there was near the end of several pictures of the landscape and sky, silhouettes of two people in the sunset - remarkably shaped like Grace and Hazel dancing in the dirt.
“OMG OGM GOM MOG MG OOMG…”
“Simon and Grace are BACK ON y’all!”
“Grace is letting Simon post photos of her! You all know that she’s very secretive about Simon these days, and now they’re in Belize and he’s posting photos! We WON everybody!”
“GRACE???”
Grace’s comments were a little bit less like that. A little bit. She had almost forgotten how “Simon’s fans” could get. She had looked up one of those “foods to order when you’re in Belize” articles and gotten everything on the list, took a photo of the table top and captioned, “About to go IN!” And less than a few moments later, had SO MANY, “Are you with Simon/Simon is gonna eat most of that/Save some for Simon/What did Simon order/So jealous that you get to eat all of that! Save room for desert AKA Simon!” That was the point where she decided to go on a comments black out. There could be no more comments on whatever photos that she took for the rest of the trip. Simon left his open, though. It blew his mind that half a year ago, people were telling him that they were disappointed in him for hurting Grace and lying about it, or that they were disappointed in him for trusting Grace again after everything, and now SOME of those very same people were extremely excited just to see them having brunch together that they were already working on wedding date headcanons and pregnancy foreshadowing. This entertained him. Grace wasn’t as much of a fan and contacted Hazel’s social media rep to ensure that any comments or questions about Simon were promptly deleted from any of her pages. Sometimes, they did that too. That was less amusing to Simon. He really believed that kids should be left out of things like that.
Simon knew that he was the reason that they didn’t last, as friends or otherwise and he had come to terms with that, but he still wanted her to be able to forgive him someday, trust him again and let him be a part of her life. This wasn’t her intention with this trip, so he definitely couldn’t take it as a sign. She was enjoying Belize with her daughter and making the most of the fact that her parents had foolishly invited him along, thinking it could be beneficial in some way. That didn’t mean that he wasn’t going to enjoy his limited time with her to the fullest.
Plus, he and Hazel had made some small steps to acceptance on her tour of their memory lane. Surprisingly to him, Grace was very open with Hazel about her wrongs. She did tell her about how she fought and hunted down Simon’s bullies, how she stabbed one with a fork and kept it just to remind herself of that day. She told her things that Simon never would have wanted to ever let his kids know that he had done. Hazel just hugged her, told her that she understood her pain better now and that she was proud of her for being able to be a good and strong person now. She posted something about her mom being her hero and being so glad that she had somebody like her in her life. It was really cute.
Simon went to follow her on her social media and someone even noticed THAT. “Simon Laurent is now following Hazel Monroe on like everything!” They posted with screenshots of his name following each account and an eyeballs emoji. He… blocked the person. He didn’t block people very much, but where Hazel was concerned, he didn’t want any of his stuff to bleed over into her space. Grace wouldn’t like that and he didn’t like it, either.
He and Hazel had spoken about the charm bracelet. She had been chronicling the charms with their stories, and said something like, “I feel like I’m wearing a sacred relic on my wrist.”
“Speaking of…” Simon had said, and reached into his satchel. “I made you copies of something…”
He showed her some pages of what could ONLY be two Esmoroth books and she squealed, hugged them to herself and stuck them in her own tote. “Expect my notes on them, soon.” He gave her a salute. Grace watched them interact and she couldn’t remember many moments that he talked to kids - like she had seen him at work with them and even sometimes whenever she caught part of one of his scouts things, but seeing him and Hazel sort of bonding affected her. She was equal parts cautious and soft. Simon seemed genuine though, and that only became more noticeable during the trip.
He was doing stuff like making sure she was walking on the inside when they went down streets, reflexively shielding her in crowds, helping her over, up onto stuff whenever she looked like she might struggle - things that Grace would normally do/try to do but wait it out to see if Hazel could do it herself or ask her if she needed help. Simon jumped into action and it didn’t seem to bother Hazel, so Grace was able to watch her get babied a little bit. It was cute. She snapped several photos, just for herself, though.
They got back to the villa to see that Mrs. Monroe had arranged another dinner. “This woman, I swear,” Grace mumbled. Simon laughed a little.
Mrs. Monroe announced, “We had a spa day and I got the Laurents makeovers. The three of you get washed up and dressed. The photographer is already here and I don’t want him to catch you three looking like… This.” she circled her hands at them, then waved them off.
“What… should I wear?” Simon asked as they walked off.
“I’ve set your outfits out!” Mrs. Monroe called at his back, “All of you!”
“I really feel like I’m 15 again,” Grace said shaking her head. Simon let out a grunt of agreement.
Hazel wondered, “This is what 15 feels like???” Not her 15. Grace was NEVER gonna do this type of stuff to her. But, the occasional bossiness of GlamMother Monroe would be fine. ONLY on occasion.
They reconvened with the family on the patio, overlooking the water as they were relaxed enough to not be as uncomfortable as at the birthday dinner. Hazel and Simon were talking about how far along she had gotten in his book, which she had her copy of at the table and was going over notes so far (she was pleased with where it was going and she enjoyed the angst between the Future King and the Idol Princess, “A lot more than I would have before everything I learned about you and my mom,” Grace heard her say.
“Do you want more?” Grace heard an unfamiliar voice ask.
She turned to see Mrs. Laurent staring at her with gray eyes… Simon’s eyes. Ugh… This is where he got those? She forced a smile and shrugged, “Someday.”
The woman leaned closer to her and said, “It gets tougher whenever there’s another. You have a hard time juggling the same amount of love that you have in you between more bodies.”
“I don’t think I’ll have that problem, but I’m going to take everything that the professionals say into consideration whenever I begin to think about expanding the family.”
“Simon was really easy. You just give him a little block set or something to build and he would leave you alone for hours. His sister needed constant attention. She just couldn’t stand not being focused on. I could easily leave Simon alone for half a day whenever he was 6. Hope couldn’t be left for a couple of hours, even having someone there with her…”
“Leave her alone,” they heard Simon growl at his mother in a low voice. The woman frowned and sat back in her seat. “Are you okay, Grace?” Simon looked at Grace’s hands clutching the table. She looked at them too, and released her grip, then saw Hazel, looking at her concerned and looking at Mrs. Laurent suspiciously.
“Yeah. She was just talking about motherhood.”
“About how she was terrible at it?” Simon asked.
“Simon…” Grace started.
But Hazel interjected, “Not everybody has a mom like you, Grace.”
“My mom isn’t perfect…”
“I think she meant a mom who is like you,” Simon said. Hazel nodded. “Some of us got hit a lot and yelled at, called names…”
“Abandoned in a field for days…”Hazel added. “Not to say that GlamMother was better! Just… sometimes it’s harder to trust people again, depending on what they did and well… as a mommy, doing bad stuff to your kid makes it so hard to even be nice.”
Grace nodded and adjusted Hazel’s braids. She had braided her hair whenever they were on the plane, to pass the time on the long flight. “I understand. I’ve been hurt by somebody that I thought really loved me before…” Simon blinked and turned away. Hazel gave him a sympathetic glance. Grace added, “But, I’m really trying not to be angry with them forever, and I think maybe our moms might be able to inherit a little bit of the same kind of forgiveness that we would want from others.”
Hazel scoffed, “She is definitely talking to you, Simon. There’s no way I’m forgiving any time soon.”
Simon said, “Noted,” and stared into his cup. He sat for a while longer and then took his cup and left the table. Hazel lowered her eyes, avoiding looking at Grace.
Mrs. Laurent offered, “He’s always been really sensitive. I’ll go…”
“No,” Grace said. “You… stay.” She stood up, glanced at Mrs. Laurent, slid Hazel’s chair away from her a little, basically letting Hazel know not to engage with that woman (though Hazel seemed to be the only person that the woman was kind hearted to, probably reminded her of her daughter or something). Grace found Simon pacing and clenching his fists. She turned to leave. This was a private moment, but he glanced up, saw her and stopped moving. She winced and clasped her hands together, “I was coming to check on you.” He relaxed a little and sat down on the nearby stairs.
She leaned against the rail and explained, “I’m not saying that you have to forgive your mom if you want me to forgive you. That’s not what I meant to convey. I just mean… that I try to think about things from the other person’s shoes a lot more than I used to. I remember right before I snapped, I asked my mom if you really believed all of the things you said about me, or if you were just a really good liar. I still don’t really know for sure what the answer is and I don’t think you do, either. And, whenever we don’t even fully know ourselves, how can we possibly know what others are going through? For all I know, you’re in the most pain that has ever pained anyone. I couldn’t say. What I can say is that I won’t let your pain be an excuse to hurt me, and as long as you aren’t hurting me, I see no reason to punish you.” She sat next to him. “But, maybe you and your mom can’t be like that, and that’s valid. I was just throwing something out in the air. I probably should have thought it through.”
“It’s true though. The stuff I did is just as unforgivable as the stuff she did. How can I expect you to ever trust me again when I’m not willing to do the same with her?”
“I mean… you and me are different people. You and her are different people. Not everything is interchangeable.”
“Any time I’m near Hazel, you look like at any moment, you expect me to throw her into the ocean. It feels really bad, but I get it. So… I know that she MIGHT be hurting too. It’s just… so hard. And to think that this is the way that I make you feel when I’m around, trying to pretend that I’m normal… It’s the most painful part. What can I do though? I made it this way. I did things that can’t be undone. Even in trying to rectify it, that’s just… treating an injury. I’ll never be able to remove the scars.” He had tears falling down his face, which he wiped away before she could have the chance to feel bad. “And you’re the last person that I should be whining to about it, because you’re the victim in this story.”
“A survivor,” she corrected. “Who has chosen to try to understand. Let’s give each other a little more space. We went around town, living in the old days and that maybe threw us a bit out of reality’s orbit. You were fine before we hung out..” He opened his mouth to debate, but she caught herself and corrected, “Well, not fine, but better. And… you need to get increasingly better. Until you’re well.” She got up and he watched her go back out and collect Hazel. They turned in early that night. He went back out to talk to his mom…
.
The Laurents were awake early and the only ones in the kitchen with Hazel whenever Grace emerged from their quarters. Mr. Laurent had made pancakes and eggs, and Hazel was stuffing her face and reading. Simon was next to her, ready to protect her, if he had to, while his mother was nursing a cup of coffee with a full, cold plate in front of her. “Good morning!” Grace cheered and kissed Hazel on top of the head, then Simon, though she awkwardly cringed after she did. He blushed, but didn’t make a big deal out of it. Yeah, she requested space, but she was also always affectionate and they had been around each other a lot the past few days.
“Good morning,” Mr. Laurent said. “Plenty of pancakes and eggs!”
“I’m having breakfast with my parents, but thank you for the offer,” she said in a fake sweet voice. “Hazel, why don’t you go get ready for the day. We’re spending it with your grands.”
“Yes!!! They give the BEST day out presents!” Grace sat down, and Simon noticed that with the off the shoulders blouse she had on, he could see the tan marks on her now even darker brown skin. He… liked tan marks. And… her hair smelled really good. Her lips looked so moist… She squinted her eyes at him and he quickly turned away and grabbed his plate and Hazel’s to clear them from the table.
“What do you all have planned for the day?” She asked.
“I’m going to take Samantha to the beach,” Simon said.
“If you can find her. I told you to keep her in her crate,” Mrs. Laurent said.
“I let her out in my quarters, not in the entire villa. She’s somewhere in my space,” he said. They had been bickering. He told her that he was trying to forgive her, because forgiving her might mean being able to forgive himself for the things that he had done. She told him that even if she tried for the rest of her life, she couldn’t forgive him for what he did to Hope… So… They weren’t any closer to whatever it was Grace was at in her growth journey. “I might do something with my hair,” Simon said, shrugging his shoulders as he washed dishes and returning his attention to Grace’s question. “Since I have that patch on the side from getting kicked in the head, I sort of want to do something Viking looking or elvish… Maybe a braid and a side do.”
“That sounds hot,” Grace said. He blushed again. “There might be something in Hazel’s Celtic book! There were some hairstyles in there. She carries the thing around a lot. Every since we found out that she had it in her DNA, she’s sorta been obsessed with Celtic history and the fact that there’s hazel tree lore is her favorite coincidence in the world.” Simon smiled and put the clean dishes away.
“She’s a great kid. You’re doing great with her.”
“It’s really not that hard. I just love her a lot and always try to give her what’s best for her and trust her to let me know if she doesn’t agree with what’s best for her… which isn’t often, at all. I worry that she sometimes maybe has too much emotional maturity. Like, if I shouldn’t coddle her a little more…” She bit her lip. “Like… how can you even tell when it’s what’s best?”
“She is happy and healthy. I trust that you do what’s best.” He cut his eyes at his mother and dismissed himself just as Hazel returned. They high fived each other when they crossed paths and Grace got up so that they could leave. She’d meet her parents elsewhere later. She couldn’t just stay in there with the Laurents, no matter how nice they were maybe trying to be.
.
She and Simon did well enough keeping their space through the rest of the trip. By Monday morning, when they were all back home, Grace wondered if Hazel needed a day to recover, but she was SO READY to get to school and brag to her friends about how she had been given drafts of the next two books of Esmoroth and how she wouldn’t tell them what happened and they would be SO jealous and think she’s SO cool. “They might even think that I’m lying. That’s why I have photos of me and Simon, with both of the drafts. They’re gonna be extremely, extremely envious.”
Grace laughed, “Why do you want your friends to be envious?”
“Because, that’s how you know it’s the good stuff.” Hazel still had her braids in. They probably wouldn’t last as long as that style would in Grace’s head, but Grace estimated she still had a few weeks before they would have to take them down. Also, Grace noticed that after giving Simon the leaf in her hair whenever they went to get on their planes home… She hadn’t replaced it. She put in one of her leaf clips and almost left the door without Grace! Grace caught up with her and the girl was as lively as ever. Grace didn’t have that same enthusiasm.
The weekend was exhausting for her. Seeing her parents wore her out. Seeing them, the Laurents, and specifically Simon? She was about to sleep this entire day, until it was time to meet up with Hazel afterschool. Back in her own bed, with her own energy in her space, her own schedule and company (or lack thereof) it was great.
.
Simon had went live while he was working on styling his hair, to clear up all of the rumors about he and Grace rekindling their romance, which essentially boiled down to, “Grace and I are not together. We aren’t even friends again. The Monroes were nice enough to treat my family to a vacation for my birthday. I love, admire, adore, worship, would die for Grace, but I’ve done too much stuff for her to ever trust me again and I have to be okay with that, so all of you should be, too.”
Grace didn’t know until Hazel told her that Forgive Him Grace and Groveling for Grace were a thing. She watched the video and was amazed that they had taken his words and decided to do the complete opposite, because of course they did! She merely made a post, with no tags or links that said, “I hate this fandom, and I hate all of you.” Some were in the comments laughing, because they knew exactly what she was talking about. Some were asking her what fandom it was and offering words of kindness. Some were just flooding it with those stupid hashtags.
Simon messaged her to apologize and insist that he didn’t mean for THIS to happen. She turned it into a video call, which he immediately picked up.
“Your followers have always been a very… special kind. Unreasonable. Stubborn. Obsessively defensive, even when you absolutely don’t deserve it.” He looked embarrassed. “You trained them too well. Jeesh.”
“They’re literally a little cult on the internet,” he said.
“Yup. They better not be bothering my baby.”
“No. I shut that shit down the moment I see it. I actually pinned an exile list to the top of my pages specifically for that.”
She checked and saw “For troubling Hazel Monroe, you will be exiled and your name will go upon this wall of shame.” It was followed by a list of names of people he blocked and at the bottom, “Leave her alone or you won’t be welcome here.”
“This is kinda adorable,” she said. “I love how you are with her. It means a lot to me.”
“You mean a lot to me, so she does too,” he said. She bit her lip and blew air through her lips. He smiled. “I love that you still do that. I was counting the similarities and differences.”
“I’d love to hear what you came up with!” She said.
“Okay. Similarities: You still do that brrrr thing with your mouth when you’re thinking or uncomfortable. You still play with people’s hair as a show of affection. You playfully tugged on Hazel’s braids so many times! Your feet still bother you… though they seem to be giving you more trouble than before. You still try to play nice with people and speak sweetly… Differences: You’re more confident. Not that you were insecure before, but you used to care what people think about you and now, you just don’t. It’s really sexy.” She blushed. “You’re independent. You don’t need anybody else and you used to always want somebody around. Like, you love Hazel and keep her close, but I can tell that you also allow her freedom and don’t demand her obedience like your parents did to you. And you’re… everything. I can’t believe that I convinced myself that you were nothing. You’re everything, and I would do anything for you.” They both just stared at each other a while.
“Well… That’s a nice thought. I’ll think of you if I need anything.”
“Or if you want anything…. Anything at all, Grace. I swear.”
“Okay. I’ll talk to you soon. Get your followers together!”
“I’m on it,” he said and rested his chin on his hands. She exited the conversation and took a deep breath. She didn’t know what he meant by any of that, but she had a feeling that it would be clear soon. Simon never made a declaration that he wasn’t going to come through about. Even “new” Simon.

Taylor Swift: Art Historian
All my art historian acquaintances might hate me for this title because their job is *incredibly* serious, but I don’t like most of them anyways.
Anyways, it is my belief that Taylor has incorporated many references to art and literature within reputation and Lover, particularly in the music videos for each album cycle. To the extent that I wonder if all this time she has secretly been getting her B.A. in English Lit...or she is making her way through all the Great Courses.
That is all to say...the music video Easter eggs aren’t merely cats and 13′s. Sometimes they are, I don’t know...diptychs of the Apocalypse.
Here is perhaps the most iconic (and brilliant, imo) image of the “Look What You Made Me Do” music video. Sear it into your memory before we proceed (if Taylor and Joseph Kahn haven’t already done it for you by producing a work of art so brilliant that you can’t stop watching on repeat.)
Tumblr media
Okay, when I first saw the video, I thought, “That’s a play on some painting I can’t remember.” I tried to look for it when beginning my research for this blog, but I couldn’t find it for the life of me. Was I making it up? No, my co-author swore it was inspired by a painting. My mom did too. Finally we came up with this, Jan van Eyck’s The Last Judgment, painted in 1441 and 1442. It hangs at...the Metropolitan Museum of Art. AND it was profiled in the New York Times on Feb. 2, 2016, when the painting was part of a special exhibition at the Met. Of course, Taylor was gearing up to help host the Met Gala in the spring too.
The painting is a diptych, meaning it has two panels, so focus on the right panel.
Tumblr media
I’ll zoom in for ya on a relevant section
Tumblr media
Feel a bit familiar? Here’s a later painting inspired by this one that has even more of the same feel as the music video:
Tumblr media
(This is Peter Paul Rubens’ The Last Judgment.)
Anyways, there are a couple other paintings I found by Rubens on the same topic with similar compositions...writhing bodies attempting to climb upwards but falling down instead.
(Also, I’m sorry you had to see those fairly disturbing images up close.)
At the top of the painting sits Christ overseeing the aforementioned judgment.
Tumblr media
Here we see the cross that shows up in LWYMMD, plus the image of someone standing above mountain, almost blissfully unaware of the drama and turmoil going on beneath.
What gets more interesting is this figure in the middle of the painting, below Christ but above the hellscape.
Tumblr media
So it’s an angel cutting down anyone who has been condemned to hell, preventing them from reaching the light of day and the love of Christ.
I freaked out when I noticed this angel because...
Exhibit #1: End Game music video
Tumblr media
Exhibit #2: reputation magazine
Tumblr media
The colors in this look the most similar to the angel in the painting, and the hair is even done the same. I have a theory that the different photos in the reputation magazine are different characters or people discussed in the song corresponding to that page in the other edition of the magazine.
She also is in the same pose as the figure on the top of Taylor Mountain.
Exhibit #3: Karlie Kloss walking in Alexander McQueen Spring/Summer 2008 show
Tumblr media
Kloss named this as one of her favorite runway shows in an interview with British Vogue in 2019. She also shared that she lit her robe on fire by accident backstage, and put this particular dress on the wrong way round and had to switch it last minute. Feels like the kind of story you would tell at every party you went to.
So basically we have a rainbow angel who ruins people’s lives.
Alrighty. Let’s delve into why I think Taylor used this imagery. As a disclaimer, this is just my analysis, and you can take it or leave it. I’ve put hours of thought and research into this because I’m unemployed and in quarantine, so I’m not just pulling this out of my ass, but I’m also not Taylor, so nothing I say is gospel truth.
Analysis
Tumblr media
My theory is that the figure at the top of Taylor Mountain is standing in for the roles that Christ and the archangel are playing in the painting. The figure--we’ll call her Rep--is essentially condemning all the Old Taylors to no longer see the light of day (or come to the phone.) The archangel in the van Eyck painting prevents people from ascending out of hell while Christ is presumably the one who condemned the people to hell and now stands above all, nonplussed.
But in an interesting twist, Rep stretches her arms out to crucify herself as she shouts, “bad dreams!” At this, the Old Taylors begin falling off the mountain, and we get the iconic “the old Taylor can’t come to the phone right now” line. Not coincidentally, the other panel of the van Eyck painting depicts Jesus’ crucifixion.
Why is the crucifixion part significant beyond just being a perfect transition in the music video? First off, it obviously points to the younger Taylor being sacrificed unjustly. A theme of reputation and Lover seems to be remorse for losing Taylor’s sense of self and a desire to shift her focus from the trappings of fame to the people who truly care about her. Many people interpreted this song as Taylor announcing that she was a new “bad girl” Taylor, shunning sparkle guitars, unrequited love, and general girl-next-door vibes (which would be a shame because these are some of the best things in life.) But I think this video and album are more retrospective than active. That is to say that Taylor is realizing that she lost her old self in the years prior to reputation, and now she regrets that they can’t come to the phone.
Tumblr media
Beyond that, I think the crucifixion moment in the video points to the idea of being a martyr--and not in a good way. This ties into my theory that all of the characters in the video that aren’t a specific Old Taylor (from Taylor’s music videos, tours) are actually meant to be Karlie Kloss. I have one other post about this on my blog now, and I intend to write more.
So let’s say it’s Karlie standing on the top of Taylor Mountain (and saying the old Taylor can’t come to the phone.) She essentially crucifies herself, making herself a martyr--someone who was killed unjustly. In my ongoing analysis of the album, I think this ties in to the song “So it Goes...” in which Taylor sings, “Come here dressed in black now / Scratches down your back now.” While this is generally interpreted to be a sexual scene, I think it depicts Karlie coming back to Taylor after the two have had a falling out, and acting like she is the victim in the relationship (black being a color of mourning) and that Taylor inflicted pain on her (scratches down her back.)
What’s more is that scratches down her back ties in with the crucifixion/martyrdom idea...Jesus was whipped/flogged before being crucified, which obviously leaves notable scars that would not look dissimilar to scratches. So basically Karlie is acting like a martyr and a victim in the relationship, when, according to Taylor in the LWYMMD video’s narrative, Karlie was the one who helped “kill” Taylor’s true self.
Tumblr media
Plus, the video also implies that Karlie exploited her relationship with Taylor for fame and financial gain and became controlling and even tried to sabotage Taylor’s relationship with Tom by calling the paps on them. Sounds like a pretty toxic relationship, and people who are emotionally abusive often use the tactic of flipping the script on the person confronting them.
I know these are harsh accusations, but they’re in the video just beneath the surface concept of “look at all these controversies.” The more I delve into the album, the more I see that Taylor is trying to process her toxic relationship with Karlie even more than her breakup with Tom. (Sorry, no Joe.) I’ll be writing more posts to explain all this, but keep an open mind. I think Taylor hid a lot in reputation and Lover that we haven’t necessarily unearthed yet.

New Year’s Eve: Chapter Three
Read it all on AO3 or previous ch. 1, 2
One magical night, five intertwining love stories, all culminating at midnight with just maybe some confessions and kisses as the clock strikes.
This chapter: Meet hopeful backup singer Isabelle trapped in an elevator with her lovelorn neighbor Rebecca who might just slowly be seeing the holiday for the new beginnings it holds and not the past it makes you face.
***
Noon, New Year’s Eve
Isabelle paces her bedroom in nothing but a Green Peace t-shirt she’s fairly certain she stole from her ex-boyfriend contemplating what exactly to do with herself for New Year’s Eve. Jace, her roommate and brother, is out of town spending the holiday in the Hamptons with their little brother and father. Isabelle and Alec hadn’t been keen on spending it with Robert, who’s been all but totally estranged from them since his affairs came to light, but Max had wanted to see him and Jace had drawn the short straw as the sibling support if things got rough and Max decided to come home. So, she’s on her own, her equally as party loving brother unavailable to her for the evening.
Raphael had invited her to spend the evening with him and Meliorn which is sweet, but a little tame for a night that Isabelle loves as much as this one. There’s the party at Pandemonium that guarantees her a midnight kiss from bartender and occasional fuck buddy Lydia. She’s also toying with the possibility of dragging Alec out on the town with her as well.
Not that there’s a chance in hell for that, he’ll probably be too busy moping about Magnus for that.
She picks up her phone about to text Lydia when it begins to vibrate and her Rihanna ringtone blasts out. The screen shows Catarina Loss’ name and Isabelle immediately answers never one to turn down what will no doubt be a gossip session about her brother and Magnus.
“How would you like to get paid tonight?” Catarina says as soon as she picks up, no chance for a greeting.
Isabelle chuckles as Cat’s brashness, always a fan of it, folding herself up onto her bed comfortably.
“That depends,” she says. “What exactly am I getting paid for? If it’s not sexual or illegal I’m probably in. Actually scratch that, how illegal is it? I’m willing to waver a bit there.”
Cat laughs at her a gust of wind pushing through the speaker that tells Isabelle she’s outside.
“Nothing of either sort,” she explains. “I was thinking getting paid for that thing you do professionally you know, singing? Magnus needs a backup for the Edom Records party and your name was at the top of the list.”
“I thought Gretel was doing the Edom shindig?” she muses already knowing Her answer, aside from the money which she definitely wants, she misses Magnus. They’ve maintained a distant friendship since the breakup with Alec, only because she knows just how in love with Alec the singer still is. Isabelle touring with Heidi McKenzie. this past fall has made her unable to work with him on his latest which had been a bummer when she’d realized the timing. It’ll be nice to see him. Bat Velasquez, his lead guitarist, will be there as well and their friendship over the years has always been a strong force in her life, she misses him now that he’s out on tour with Magnus without her.
“Cancelled last minute, Magnus is filling in,” Cat says into the speaker then trails off a little clearly shouting at Magnus. “That is if he ever goes inside!” Isabelle hears a muffled response that is no doubt sassy before Cat returns to her. “So, you in?”
“Absolutely,” Isabelle smiles lifting herself off her bed and towards her closet to find the perfect outfit for the night. She’s glad for the change, a fancy record party with at least a few people she knows well is much better than any of her other options.
“Your brother is catering last minute by the way,” Catarina adds on and Isabelle freezes as she slides open her closet door. That explains why Cat is yelling at Magnus to just go inside the damn building already.
“So, Aline definitely had a hand in the record company reaching out to Magnus to fill in then,” she chuckles. She knew Aline was in charge of the Edom party this year and there’s no way her influence didn’t play a hand.
“Shockingly no,” Cat confirms. “She did however send a very encouraging text to Magnus convincing him to take the offer.”
“And by encouraging I know you mean direct as fuck,” she says flipping through her dresses to pick the perfect one as Catarina hums in response. “I always thought it would be me who cracked first and came up with a hijinks scheme to force them into the same room together.”
“As did I,” Cat says on the other end briefly turning away to talk to someone else, likely Magnus again, before coming back to Isabelle. “But no matter who got the ball rolling, it doesn’t matter as long as it ends with those two sorting their shit out and me no longer having to hear ‘Crimson and Clover,’ just the slow parts, constantly playing in the background whenever I talk to Magnus.”
“At least Magnus’ sadness song is a good song, Alec listens to Avril Lavigne.”
“Shut up, he does not,” Cat says sounding absolutely delighted.
“He does. It’s ‘I’m With You’ like clockwork,” she laughs pulling out a black bodycon dress with silver stripes running down the side and tossing it onto her bed.
“Oh, I can’t wait till they’re back together so I can make fun of him for that,” Cat says filled with absolute delight. She’s pulled away again by Magnus’ voice in the background a little closer now. “Alright, I gotta go Magnus is over his existential crisis about whether or not to go inside. I’ll see you at six for some quick rehearsal.”
They say their goodbyes and Isabelle tosses her phone onto the nightstand to get dressed eager to spend her night onstage doing the thing she loves.
***
“Pleaseeeee,” Rebecca practically begs from her spot on the couch watching as Clary flits around the room braiding her hair and Helen judges her silently from an armchair. Rebecca Lewis is not one to beg, but desperate times and all that.
“No,” Helen says plainly giving her a direct stare. “Why don’t you just ask Simon to go in your place if you don’t wanna go so bad?”
“He’s in Florida with mom,” Rebecca grumbles. Three months ago, at her brother’s insistence Rebecca had signed up for a contest that would allow one person to assist in pressing the button to drop the ball in Times Square. Simon had been giddy with excitement at the prospect as had Rebecca always loving to stay up late and watch the festivity and then somehow Rebecca actually won. However, her giddiness has now faded because three months ago she hadn’t been recently dumped by her girlfriend with no warning and three months ago their mom hadn’t opted to move to Florida to discover herself and dragged Simon along with her to settle in.
Now, she just wants to stay home in her pajamas and watch Star Wars movies and eat at least ten pounds of Chinese takeout while one of her roommates goes in her place. Her roommates however don’t seem to feel the same way judging from the past twenty minutes of desperate pleading.
She turns just as Clary re-enters the room ready to beg, but Clary beats her to the punch not even meeting her eyes as she puts on her black peacoat.
“I’m not passing up on a night with my girlfriend and my dad to fill in for you because you don’t want to put on real pants,” Clary says pointedly. She walks over planting a kiss on Rebecca’s head then one to Helen’s speaking only to her. “Make sure she doesn’t choke to death on a won ton.”
“I make no guarantees,” Helen jokes as Clary chuckles throwing a wave over her shoulder as she heads out the door. Rebecca huffs at them both. They’re her best friends, her newly acquired roommates thanks to the whole being dumped situation, they’re practically her sisters they should be more sympathetic to her plight.
“Come on Helen, it’s a few hours and you get to press a shiny button,” she sits up on the couch leaning forward to hold Helen’s eyes. “And meet the Jonas Brothers.”
“I don’t care about the Jonas Brother’s and you know that,” she says standing and moving to the kitchen, Rebecca reluctantly lifts herself up and follows.
“Oh, come on, I got dumped. Don’t make me go look happy on National television,” she groans lifting herself up onto the kitchen counter.
“You got dumped nearly three months ago by a girl who you told me you weren’t sure you saw future with, that card isn’t going to work,” Helen says putting her hands on her hips.
And okay, Rebecca had said that, but it doesn’t change the fact that she dumped her suddenly just after they moved in together on their one-year anniversary. New Year’s Eve is supposed to be about new beginnings, letting the past year go, and that’s exactly what she wants to do. But she wants to do it with her face buried in carton of fried rice, not with a boy band and the mayor.
The mayor. That’s it.
“The Mayor’s going to be there,” Rebecca starts hoping to reel Helen in. She’s a political science major, an absolute politics nerd, the chance to meet and discuss policy with the Mayor is like offering a chain smoker three cartons. “And some of his staff. At the party thing before as well, which means you’ll have time to actually talk to them, ask them all sorts of questions.”
Helen’s head tilts her deadpan expression gone now replaced with a questioning gaze. Rebecca’s ninety percent sure she’s hooked her.
“Exactly how long is this party thing beforehand?” Yup, she’s got her.
“The rep I talked to said a few hours, the Mayor will be there for the whole thing and was eager to meet the prize winner.”
“And it’s just pressing the button? No other fanfare?”
Rebecca nods her head trying not to look too delighted at having finally swindled her to go in her place.
Helen lets out the most long-suffering sigh Rebecca has ever heard before placing her hands on her hips.
“But I’m supposed to stay here and make sure you don’t choke on a wonton,” she says a clear last-ditch attempt at not crumbling under Rebecca’s pleas.
“Leave me to wallow,” Rebecca bemoans and Helen’s look gets more pointed than before. “I’ll be fine,” she assures. “Go eat some food on the cities dime and geek out about the Mayor, it’ll be a way better New Year’s Eve than being on unnecessary Rebecca watch.”
“Fine,” Helen concedes rolling her eyes with a tiny smile that Rebecca can read as clearly being pleased by at least the Mayor part of the deal. “You sure it’ll be okay?”
“Positive, I emailed the rep this morning and told her I was sending a replacement, didn’t hear back yet, but I assume that’s just cause it’s a pretty busy day for her and all.”
Rebecca slips off the counter opening a nearby drawer filled with takeout menu’s and plucks the one she intends to feast from out before heading back to her burrow on the couch.
“You have to be there by three, have fun,” Rebecca says as she settles reaching out for a pen on the coffee table to circle every item she intends to order.
Helen let’s out a frustrated noise from behind her, “That’s in like an hour. With New Year’s traffic I’m definitely going to be late.”
“So you better get going,” Rebecca says circling six items in a row. She’s not even past the appetizers yet.
Helen huffs again and Rebecca hears the faint sound of her putting on her leather jacket over her t-shirt and jeans.
“You’re not going to change?” Rebecca says still not actually looking up at Helen.
“Clearly I don’t have time,” she says before leaning over the couch and snatching the menu form Rebecca’s hands. Rebecca makes feeble grabby hands at it as Helen pulls away. “You’re also doing the dishes for a month.”
Rebecca reaches out again, Helen pulling the menu back even further.
“Fine,” she huffs as Helen hands her the menu back with a smile. She turns heading for the door and grabbing her keys from the bowl beside it.
“Don’t choke on a wonton!” she shouts cheerfully as she opens the door, definitely loud enough for the neighbors to here. Rebecca glares at the door for a second before turning back to her menu, happily circling both the cheese and pork wontons.
***
Rebecca wakes to the sound of their intercom buzzing. She blearily looks around realizing she’d decided to take a nap after ordering nearly a hundred dollars’ worth of takeout. She jumps up quickly not wanting to miss the delivery person and shouting a quick be right there into the intercom.
She stumbles into the hall barely remembering to grab her keys and wallet not bothering with her phone shuffling quickly to catch the elevator just as it’s about to close. She tosses herself inside slamming a little heavily into the holding bar on the right side.
“Ouch,” she says rubbing at her hip. A light snort comes from behind her and she twists around to see quite possibly the prettiest woman she’s ever seen standing in the corner of the elevator.
“You okay there?” the woman asks and damn that’s a pretty voice. Rebecca nods a little numbly turning back to the front of the elevator suddenly acutely aware of her outfit. She’s not one to fuss over the finer points of style but the girl behind her is gorgeous in a tight black dress and red leather jacket with hair and makeup styled to perfection.
Rebecca on the other hand is wearing a fuzzy blue robe, a torn to shreds t-shirt with her brother’s bands name printed across it and pajama pants covered in dancing penguins. Her hair is up in a bun that prior to her nap looked neat, but is now more of a bird’s nest. It’s not her finest look and while she’s not exactly been interested in anyone since her breakup she does still have eyes and wouldn’t be mad about this elevator stranger finding her as pretty as she finds the stranger.
***
It’s nearly four by the time Isabelle is ready to go, all done up and looking in her humble opinion pretty damn hot. The trip across town usually wouldn’t require such an early leave, but with the holiday she’s accounting for endless traffic and overcrowded subways.
Isabelle only startles slightly when a girl in a fuzzy blue robe comes barreling into the tiny space left open as the elevator doors closes. And she only snorts lightly when said girl rams into the side of the elevator.
She’s pretty is Isabelle’s first thought, surprised she’s never noticed this girl around the building before. Her outfit’s, well it’s something else, but the sheepish look she gives Isabelle before turning back to face the elevator doors makes it suddenly become a cute look.
They’re quiet after her quick check that the woman is alright after her bump into the wall. The woman reachs out to hit the first-floor button despite the fact it’s already lit when suddenly the elevator makes a loud shrieking noise and freezes completely to a halt somewhere between the second and third floors.
The lights above the door flicker wildly between the two and three as the shake of the elevator sends both women tumbling forward. Isabelle lands pressed right up against the stranger against the wall of buttons face to face. For a tense moment their eyes meet but a dinging sound tears them apart.
“Sorry,” she mumbles as they pull away, the woman just shakes it off, looking down to see they’d hit the emergency button upon their tumble into one another.
“Well at least we skipped that step,” the fuzzy robed woman chuckles. It’s a cute little laugh which just adds to the adorableness of this woman.
“Yeah, but the landlord sucks,” Isabelle huffs pulling out her phone from the pocket of her jacket. “He’ll probably ignore it if he’s even around.”
Her phone immediately lets her know she has no service as soon as she lights up the screen. She holds it up high trying to get a signal to no avail.
“No service. Dammit, dammit, dammit,” she says each dammit getting a little louder. She looks over to the other woman who has an eyebrow raised. “I have to be at work in like two hours so this isn’t ideal.”
“Working on New Year’s Eve?” the woman questions.
Isabelle nods, “I’m a backup singer, a friend needed a fill in at the Edom Records party.”
“Cool,” the other woman says as Isabelle starts banging against the door and pressing the buttons in the hopes something will change. She shouts hoping her voice with its impressive vocal range will catch someone’s attention, but there’s nothing but silence on the other side.
“I’m Rebecca Lewis by the way,” the woman in the robe says after Isabelle drops her hand from the metal door and sighs.
“Isabelle Lightwood,” she replies grateful to have a name to the cute face and grateful that introduction stopped her from breaking her hand by banging on the metal doors so hard. “I don’t think anyone’s out there. I knew I should have taken the stairs.”
It’s been months since the last elevator mishap, but the caution still should be there. She blames her damn heels. She should have gone with the wedges not the stilettos then she wouldn’t have even looked at the elevator. Damn, sexy shoes.
“Does this happen a lot?” Rebecca inquires and Isabelle assumes she must be new to the building if she’s unaware of the great summer elevator fiasco.
“The damn thing broke down a dozen times over the summer. My brother, who’s also my roommate,” she adds on. “Managed to get himself stuck in here three times and it took hours each time. We might be here a while.”
“My foods gonna get taken back,” Rebecca whines as she slides down onto the floor to sit.
“Your food?” Isabelle turns to her incredulously from where she’d still been staring at the doors. “I have literal work to be at!”
Rebecca looks at her like she’s crazy for raising her voice. There’s a chance she is a little bit. It’s just she was so excited about tonight and now she’s stuck in an elevator, with an admittedly cute girl but still stuck and she’s bummed about it.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to shout,” Isabelle says moving to slide down to the floor opposite Rebecca. For the first time since the elevator stopped Isabelle lets herself relax a bit, accepting her fate with a sigh.
Rebecca just shrugs one fluffy blue robed shoulder seemingly nonplussed now about Isabelle’s brief outburst.
“I just love New Year’s Eve,” Isabelle muses continuing on to fill the silence. “And this gig tonight was going to be so perfect for new beginnings and all that and now I’m stuck in an elevator.”
Rebecca snorts at that, a rough almost bitter kind of thing. Isabelle’s head perks up.
“Not a fan of the night?”
Rebecca shrugs, “I used to be, my brother and I loved it. This year not so much. Mostly just ready to put this year behind me.”
Isabelle hums. This girl sounds a lot like Alec, or how Alec will hopefully only sound for a few more hours if things go well tonight with Magnus.
“Well I love it,” she says. Always has ever since she was a little girl. Jace, Alec, her mom and eventually Max would always pass out before the ball dropped, but Isabelle never did. She’d watch with wide eyed wonder as the glowing sphere made its descent counting down in an excited whisper as to not startle her family lounging around her. As she got older it became more than that, it was a night of fun and kissing a pretty girl or boy at midnight, maybe good work if she could find it. But she always looks at it with that wide-eyed wonder she felt when she was little. New beginnings covered in glitter and bright peals of laughter no matter what the year brought always made her feel alive. She says all of that aloud to Rebecca.
She looks up when she’s done and Rebecca is staring at her, expression a little unreadable. Somewhere caught between incredulous, but also a hint of wonderous that Isabelle wants to ask about when suddenly she hears the click of boots in the hallway.
***
“Wait, did you hear that?” Rebecca asks shuffling closer to the door when she hears footsteps outside welcoming the distraction to look away from Isabelle’s glowing eyes as she talked about her love of New Year’s Eve. It’s way too much to be hearing from such a pretty girl, when she herself used to feel that exact same way any year before this one.
“That sounds like a person,” Isabelle says standing up and immediately banging on the doors in hopes to get someone’s attention. “HEY!” she yells as she bangs her hands harder. “Somebody out there? We’re stuck in the elevator.”
“Isabelle?” a male voice on the other side says.
“Raphael?!” Isabelle says excitedly before turning to Rebecca. “It’s Raphael!” she says it like Rebecca should have any idea who that is.
“How long have you been in there?” the male voice sounds from the other side.
“Not long thankfully, but my phone won’t work in here and I have to be across town to backup for Magnus by six so can you use that weird superhuman strength of yours to pry open this door and get us out?” Isabelle pleads.
“Us?” Raphael, evidently, asks.
“Yeah, one of our neighbors is in here too, now come on super boy!”
Rebecca doesn’t know this Raphael, but somehow some way she can sense an eyeroll through the metal door.
“First, we’ve talked about this, do not call me that,” he says gruff, but with a hint of fondness. The fondness makes Rebecca’s gut twist. A feeling of jealousy she has no right to have just because she thinks Isabelle is pretty. “Second, I’m not just going to bust open the door that could kill you. I’ll text Magnus so he knows you’re going to be late and I’ll go get Meliorn to see if he can figure this out. Stay put, okay.”
Isabelle rolls her eyes, “Stay put? Where exactly am I going to go?”
Raphael huffs out a laugh muffled by the door, “Knowing you Isabelle, I wouldn’t be surprised if you tried to climb out through the ceiling and scale the building up a floor.”
Rebecca widens her eyes at the insane concept of someone not in a John Wick movie actually trying that. Isabelle shrugs, nonplussed and seemingly accepting of the fact she would be the one person outside of a John Wick movie to try that.
“I’ll be back soon,” he continues on his footsteps growing distant as he seemingly goes to find this Meliorn who can supposedly help them. As soon as his footsteps disappear Rebecca feels instant regret that she didn’t ask him to check and see if her delivery was still downstairs. She totally would have paid him back if he saved her precious food.
Isabelle shuffles and sits back down on the cold metal wall opposite Rebecca.
“Raphael will get us out no worries,” she says with a smile and a seemingly endless confidence in this Raphael.
“Is he your boyfriend?” Rebecca asks a little abruptly.
“He used to be,” Isabelle smiles. “We weren’t the healthiest for one another when we were together, better off as just good friends. He’s actually dating my neighbor Meliorn now, who’s ironically also my ex-boyfriend; you might know him he’s the guy everyone calls when they need something from our scary landlord. He has a Zen way of getting through to even the most abrasive individuals, hence why he and Raphael work so well together.”
“I don’t really know the neighbors. I’ve only been here about a month,” Rebecca says and Isabelle looks pleased like she’d assumed that from Rebecca’s earlier inquiries about the elevator and was excited to be correct. “I think I’ve heard Clary and Helen mention him before.”
“Oh, so you live in 4A?” Isabelle inquires interestedly, Rebecca just nods. “Cool. I know them, well not know them, know them, but they seem nice. Say hello when they see you and hold the doors and all that. My brother actually tried to flirt with Clary when we first moved in, you can imagine that didn’t go his way.” She chuckles at that and Rebecca joins in. Whether the flirting in question had happened pre or post Maia it doesn’t change the fact that Clary is so painfully gay and that’s coming from Rebecca who is a lesbian to the highest degree herself.
“He would have stood a better chance with Helen,” Rebecca jokes, knowing that’s also not really true, Helen may be bi, but she’s picky as hell and very particular about dating outside of her workspace and home space.
Isabelle laughs, “Yeah that’s what I told him. He said she was pretty too, but gave him this death stare every time he saw her after he hit on Clary so he didn’t even bother.”
And yep that sounds like Helen. She’s the sweetest girl in the world until you annoy her, she’s been on the end of that very death stare so she can absolutely imagine running away if she didn’t already know Helen so well.
They lapse into a comfortable silence after that and when Raphael comes back informing them it may be a couple hours till they’re out, but that Meliorn is on his way with tools and some sort of knowledge on how to fix the elevator. They both just settle back down onto the floor this time side by side.
It’s not long before Isabelle starts talking, she doesn’t ask Rebecca about her obvious distain for New Year’s Eve this year which she’s a little grateful for, but she does talk a lot about herself and about her brothers and her career. It’s clearly mostly just chatter to fill the space, but Rebecca doesn’t mind and finds herself happily asking questions here and there and even exchanging her own tidbits of information about her brother and mom in particular.
***
“Wait so not only are your two ex boyfriends now a couple, but one of them has been friends with your brother’s ex, who is currently trying to win your brother back cause they’re soulmates, since they were kids?” Rebecca sorts out a while later. After Raphael’s second exit and a short conversation the silence had started to dwell on Isabelle so she’d just started talking about anything and everything to fill the space.
She wasn’t sure if Rebecca was even listening, but evidently she was which is nice. She even started to throw in her own tidbits of information about her family as Isabelle chattered on. It’s nice to meet someone who clearly loves their siblings and mother as much as she loves her own.
“Yup,” Isabelle says popping the letter ‘p’ at the end. “It’s funny when Raph and I dated I didn’t even know he knew Magnus, he never really talked about his friends mostly because he used to act like he didn’t have any. I got hired to backup for Magnus once and dragged Alec along and they hit it off immediately which was around when Raph and I broke up and the connection was finally made.”
“That’s a roundabout way to find out you have an existing connection,” Rebecca says squinting a questioning eye.
Isabelle laughs and it makes Rebecca smile a very pretty smile. It’s true, it’s also a stark reminder of how bad of a couple she and Raphael had been. While Raphael’s asexuality had never been an issue, literally everything else between them had been.
“Like I said not so healthy for one another,” she shrugs. “Once we cut the romance out we finally started talking and actually became friends. Then Meliorn came back into my life and I introduced them and it just works. We cook tamales once a month together and mock Meliorn’s abysmal vegan alternatives.”
Rebecca laughs at that and then they slip back into their silence, it’s comfortable but there’s still a question lingering at the back of Isabelle’s mind. Rebecca speaks so fondly of her brother and mother who are both in Florida this year, which seems to be part of why she’s so anti-New Years, but there’s more to the picture and Isabelle is curious.
“What’s with the New Year’s hate this year?” Isabelle says a little abruptly. It’s a trait she’s earned from her big brother over the years. Alec’s bluntness occasionally carrying over into her. “I mean I know you said your brother and mom aren’t here which is definitely a factor, but that deeply indignant snort you let out earlier when I mused says there’s more to it.”
Rebecca sighs leaning her back against the cool metal. Isabelle is about to tell her she doesn’t have to talk about. That she realizes she may have overstepped and that no matter how much information they’ve swapped about one another over the past hour she’s aware they’re still practically strangers.
But then Rebecca is talking before Isabelle can get out the words.
“I was seeing this girl,” she says not looking at Isabelle, but Isabelle takes in the seeing a girl information with an internal smile. Rebecca’s pretty and loves her family and wears weird pajamas and Isabelle’s kind of into it, so the confirmation of liking girls is a nice thing to have. “And it’s not like we were soulmates or anything, but we had just moved in together and it seemed like maybe we were moving forward even if it had felt like we were a little stagnant and then she just dumps me. No warning and I had to move in with Helen and Clary which then right on the heels of that mom moves to Florida, which is great for her,” she stresses clearly not wanting to blame her mom for anything. It’s something Isabelle understands.
“And she drags Si along with her for a month and just all the positive of the year sapped away. I just want to be done with it. Usually I’d be like you, but I just can’t feel it this year. It’s not even a heartbreak thing, like I said we were pretty stagnant, it’s just a lonely thing. I’d rather forget about this year and start fresh tomorrow.”
Isabelle is contemplative for a moment. She knows she can romanticize New Year’s Eve quite a bit and knows that’s not exactly what Rebecca needs to hear in this moment. She gets what Rebecca is saying, while it had been for the best to break it off with Raphael the dissolving of their romance had axis off center and right after that her father’s affairs came to light. These events hadn’t coincided with a year’s end or any holiday, but the understanding was still there. It had all tilted her world even if it was all for the best.
She shares that quietly into the space between them eyes on Rebecca even though she continues to just look straight ahead at the doors.
“So I get it,” she adds on when she’s done explaining. “I get wanting to start fresh the next day because today was just so damn abysmal and not worth celebrating.”
Rebecca smiles at that turning her head to finally meet Isabelle’s eyes. Isabelle smiles back and is suddenly aware of how close they’re sitting. It’s gotten chillier and chillier in this elevator as the hours have passed by and unconsciously they’ve scooted closer and closer together.
It’s probably not the move to make, but the proximity and heart to heart has Isabelle wanting to lean in and kiss this pretty, sweet, slightly messy girl. And Rebecca, well Rebecca kind of looks like she wouldn’t mind it if Isabelle did just that.
She doesn’t get the chance however when the elevator suddenly jolts again. Rebecca’s knee goes up and Isabelle immediately reaches out to grasp it, the touch grounding and the penguin pajama pants soft under her fingertips. And then they’re moving just like an elevator should right back up to where they started on the third floor. The door opening to reveal Raphael slouched down on the opposing wall headphones in.
He looks up and smiles at Isabelle then down to her hand on Rebecca’s knee and raises a brow. Isabelle immediately moves it not needing that questioning eyebrow right now.
***
Isabelle’s words and understanding set Rebecca at an ease she hasn’t felt in months. It’s so nice to have someone who gets it, especially someone as bright eyed as Isabelle Lightwood.
There’s a tense moment after Isabelle opens up to her where for a split second she thinks maybe she’s going to kiss her, but then the elevator jolts back to life, the doors opening to reveal a smiling man she assumes to be the infamous Raphael.
Isabelle’s hand leaves Rebecca’s knee abruptly as Raphael takes out his headphones and walks towards them holding out a hand to help Isabelle up from the ground that she takes easily. He then does the same for Rebecca introducing himself with a kind smile that’s also sort of intense. Perfectly fitting the description of him Isabelle had given.
“It worked,” another voice, soothing and almost melodic says. There in the doorway stands another man, quite possibly the prettiest man Rebecca’s ever seen even from her gayest point of view. He smiles at them.
“Obviously. You’re a genius Mel,” Isabelle says moving forward to finally exit the elevator. Raphael follows and Rebecca then trudges out behind them. Mel, or Meliorn as he introduces himself explains what was wrong quickly as Isabelle pulls her phone from her pocket.
“Shit,” she says as the phone blows up with every message and missed call she’d received while stuck in the elevator coming in all at once. “I have thirty minutes to make it to this party.”
“Go then,” Raphael says ushering her away. Rebecca stands off to the side watching as she affectionately squeezes both men’s arms. She assumes she should probably just leave and go back to her apartment. She moves to do just that when Isabelle turns gripping her arm to stop her.
“This was fun,” she says when Rebecca turns to look at her. Isabelle’s smile is bright and weirdly, maybe a little nervous. “We should probably not do this exact thing again though.” She chuckles bright.
Rebecca laughs about to respond when Isabelle’s phone buzzes loud in her pocket again.
“Okay, I really have to go,” she says moving forward before pausing and leaning it to press her bright red lips to Rebecca’s cheek. Her lips are soft and warm and usually Rebecca would be so annoyed that someone with lipstick just rubbed it all over her cheek, but she can’t even remotely feel bothered by it this time.
Isabelle pulls back with a shy smile not saying a word and taking off rushing past Rebecca at an alarmingly fast speed, especially considering the heels she’s wearing. Rebecca watches her go lifting a hand to her cheek when she hears a clearing of a throat behind her.
Raphael and Meliorn. Right, they’re still standing there.
She turns seeing two of the most amused expressions she’s ever seen before in her life and she blushes, spluttering to say something in explanation.
Meliorn doesn’t let her though just smiles and waves her off ensuring they’ll deal with blocking off the elevator in case his temporary fix didn’t totally do the trick. She smiles gratefully shuffling back down the hallway in her slippers.
Once she’s back in her apartment she pours herself the largest bowl of cereal known to man mixing together the remaining Lucky Charms and Fruity Pebbles in the cupboard into a large mixing bowl. It’s delicious, not quite the dinner feast she had planned, but considering how hungry she is it suffices. She settles on the couch turning on the tv and finding the ball drop hoping to catch Helen on TV.
It’s still hours away but the globe shines brightly at the top of Times Square. She thinks about Isabelle’s musings and about the way she and Simon used to curl up on the couch and watch this very event and suddenly feels a lot less sad about it all.
She thinks that’s mostly because of the few sweet hours she spent trapped with Isabelle Lightwood.
***
Isabelle flashes her ID at the front door and is blissfully granted access to the party with no hassle.
While the rush across town had allowed her single-minded focus now she’s letting her mind wander to Rebecca. Thinking about maybe knocking on 4A’s door tomorrow and seeing if she has dinner plans.
When she enters she already hears the familiar chords of Bat’s guitar signaling they’re about to hit the stage taking her back to that single-minded focus. She pushes herself to run one last time, those final few floors, avoiding the hotel elevator cause she’s not trusting another one of them tonight.
She tumbles backstage and quickly reassures Magnus’s concerned eyes with a smile and as the music swells and Bat tosses her a friendly wink everything else falls away. It’s just her and the band and the music and only a tiny corner of thoughts about Rebecca Lewis.
***
It’s nearly an hour till midnight watching that ball shine and listening to Ryan Seacrest prattle on about the Jonas Brother’s when it hits Rebecca that she didn’t ask for Isabelle’s number or anything of the like. She doesn’t even know what apartment number she lives in and she’s suddenly hit with a wave of regret. It’s not that they couldn’t run into one another again, but there’d been a spark and much like her brother Rebecca has been known to let sparks fly and then die because her nerves get the best of her. But right now she doesn’t feel nerves, she just wants to ask Isabelle Lightwood on a date, the problem is she can’t.
Or at least she can’t in any way that’s sane and doesn’t involve rushing across town to a party she definitely won’t get inside.
Unless.
Before she knows what she’s doing Rebecca slips her slippers back on her feet securely grabbing her things from the table by the door and heading out. She should probably change, but she should also probably not be doing this.
But that spirit she once had about New Year’s Eve feels a little brighter in her veins and she feels a pull that tells her tonight has to be the night she does this.

Hey guys!! I hope you’re doing well. I decided months after the concert, and years after my first, that it was time for me to make this post. When I was 8, I fell in love with the idea of falling in love. I became infatuated with the song, You Belong With Me, and I would sit with my younger brother for hours at his computer rewatching the music video. (The only reason I found the song in the first place was thanks to a talent show at my school where two girls sang it so hey thanks haha). Quickly, I think my parents could tell @taylorswift’s music brought a lot of joy into my life. Around that time was when my parents were starting to go through their divorce process. It was hard for my 3 siblings and I, as well as my mom. I didnt see my dad for months and I wasn’t sure if I ever would or wanted to again. But slowly, things got a little better piece by piece. For Christmas that year, I got (the infamous but not infamous) hello kitty boom box along with a fearless cd. From there was where my love truly sprouted. My mom would yell at me to turn down the boom box because it was always playing so loud. The year that the Fearless tour came around it was all I could talk about. But I knew, even from that young age, that we probably wouldn’t be able to afford to go, but I was wrong. One morning my mom told my brother and I we would be driving down to MA to see my aunt for her birthday. We drove past cars decorated in paint, but I had no idea why. See being only 9 I didn’t really have a good conception of what the date was or when the concert even was. We continued our drive, and drove past a car of teenage girls screaming about Justin Bieber holding a photo of them out their window (on the high way). My brother and I thought it was the funniest thing in the world but still had no idea. Pulling up to Gillette Stadium that day, I genuinely thought that we’d gotten lost. My mom started to get my brother and his wheelchair out of the car and I asked what we were doing. I believe I said something along the lines of-wait we aren’t going are we? And when she said we were I still couldn’t believe it and I screamed and cried. I kept asking and the entire night felt completely surreal. My mom was smart enough to have brought binoculars so we could see from our seats. It was truly amazing. My memories between fearless and speak now blur together. I think I remember starting to use TaylorSwift.com more to interact with other fans around this time. I also remember watching the Speak Now announcement livestream and being so excited. I got the album for my birthday in November, and I got concert tickets for Christmas. I remember they were in a shoe box and I was like oh cool shoes, but I opened it and the letter was inside and I sobbed. There’s probably a video somewhere but I don’t know where. I also made a poster for this tour back before there was a dimension limit. It was literally like a science poster board and it said “I want to be like you, you rock!” And I drew a 13 and arm lyrics on my arm. After the speak now era of things I had began middle school (it was around 5/6 grade). It was an especially hard time for me, I didn’t have a lot of friends anymore and since my class only had 33 kids it was hard to make new friends. Despite the cliqueyness of things, and my depression, I continued on. I remember the day that the RED album was announced so well. I had been waiting for weeks and couldn’t contain myself. At the time I had a mentor(kinda like a big sibling program) and I was to hang out with her. I had to explain to her how to get into YouTube and we almost missed the beginning but I was entranced by it. She kept urging me to get off the computer and that I could watch it later but I was so excited. The first song you played brought tears to my eyes. I remember the next year at school I got all folders colored red which was my moms idea and in hindsight made it super difficult to tell which had which stuff but it’s okay I got through it lol. The RED tour I also got tickets for during Christmas and again I was extremely excited. Wow this is getting super long but for the RED tour I spent hours making my poster (which you can see in the photo above). The security guard almost didn’t let me in but we promised not to hold it up and so she let it slide. We wore lights around our necks and I did around my hat and danced all night. At one point I saw Andrea on the jumbotron (did I mention this was my first time having floor seats ahhh). And my mom and I instantly had a game plan. When you came around the other side everyone would rush to be over there so we started walking the empty side and we ran into her. I yelled Hi Andrea! And the security tightened around her. She pushed through them and gave me the biggest hug. I handed her a letter and apologized for it being wet and she laughed and said it’s okay sweetie (wow I was so nervous and cute and 13 wow). I also took a photo with her and she was overall such a sweet person. (Thank you Andrea). For 1989 it was sort of the same shabang again. I watched the live stream in Cape Cod with my best friend and I cried. I couldn’t watch all of it because we had to leave to go somewhere but I was so excited. My first time watching the shake it off video I loved it but was also afraid of the shift in your music. Regardless I loved it and listened to it on repeat. I got tickets to the 1989 tour Christmas of my 8th grade year. This is where things really changed. I started using tumblr, and eventually came across @hellagoodfellas. She was surprised I actually live in VT and we clicked instantly. She introduced me to a new group chat of people who’d be seeing the 1989 concert at Gillette (hey I also met Scott this night he was so nice as well). We started with like 25 people and slowly it got smaller and smaller. We all have grown so incredibly close and I’m thankful to have those girls in my life to this day. We were actually able to meet at Gillette and we were awkward preteens but it’s okay it was still an amazing experience. The reputation era has brought so much empowerment into my life and without it I would be lost. I’ve been struggling a lot this year with my anxiety, I’ve always had it but being a senior in high school there’s just a lot of stress. When Rep came out the summer between my sophomore and junior years it was a god send. I danced and laughed and cried. I was finally started to be alive. Some of my best memories are just from this album and this era so thank you. I was lucky enough to go see 2 shows this year which is mind boggling. Both at Gillette (of course 😉) and I got to see my best friends both nights. Without being able to spend hours creating costumes and posters, or months spent listening to the music I don’t know who I’d be. No, you and your music doesn’t define who I am, but it has shaped me into the person I am today. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving me (and my mom she’s the real MVP for going to all of these concerts with me) a creative outlet and something to look forward to. For the beautiful works of art you’ve created, and to the future of many more memories to come. Much love, xo, @vermontswift

Taylor Come Back To Europe Project: Spain’s week.
Hi there!
So, as a little explanation before we start: last January I created on Twitter an account called @Europe _ Loves _ TS in order to try to get Taylor back to Europe. It works this way: each week is dedicated to one different country, this one’s being Spain, and each day I post different stuff about the country, Taylor’s charts there, where she could play and that kind of stuff. I started posting this week because it took me quite a long to finish with all of the preparations but now it has already started, and Day 6 (a.k.a. Tumblr and sign the petition) is about posting everything done on Twitter but on Tumblr, that’s why the texts will be really little. Also, here you have the summary, in case you want to see something first:
Day 1: Where would Taylor play?
Day 2: About the city.
Day 3: Swifties day!
Day 4: Taylor and the city.
Day 5: Conclusion.
Day 6: Tumblr and signing the petition.
Day 7 (does not appear in here): New country announcement.
Here you have the petition’s link https://www.change.org/p/ticketmaster-taylor-swift-european-tour?recruiter=931350637&utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=copylink&utm_campaign=share_petition , just in case you want to help us.
And the first country of the week will be... 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗻!

“I started to be a Swiftie by the end of the RED era, when I saw the “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” video, by the end of 2013 (yes, I know that I saw the video a bit late). I don’t know why but I realized that Taylor is the only one that can help me with my depression (unfortunately I suffer a lot of depression) and put a huge smile on my face just with her songs. She means the entire world to me. While I was studying in high school, I worked as a teacher for another students, and I started saving money to be able to go one day to any Taylor’s concert. And finally, after two years of saving money, on November 29 2017 (the day after my birthday), I bought two tickets for the “reputation Stadium Tour” in London, one for me and one for my sister. After seven months the day finally came and I traveled from Spain to London just to see Taylor for the first time. That was my first concert. That day I realized that Taylor is a real angel, and that she is always going to be there for us. And also I’m so grateful since because of her I met a lot of new friends. My dream is to one day be able to hug her and tell her how much she helped me, and also I would ask her if she could draw a thirteen on my ankle, because I always wanted to get a thirteen tattooed on my body. Thank you for reading this.”
-Javier, 16 years, Barcelona (@tattshold on Twitter).
Tumblr media
“I’m not good at English but I’ll try. I was always bullied, had no real friends so I never went out with people and stuff like that. When I was 14 I sit in class next to a redhead called Claudia and she played me “Tim McGraw”. I started listening to the song at home and soon enough I was addicted to Taylor Swift. Taylor was here when the first boy broke my heart, I don't know how many times I played “Should’ve Said No” during that time. Taylor was there when people called me slut and bitch, telling me that they were just “Mean”. Taylor was there at my spinal surgery, I played “Speak Now” in the hospital every day. Taylor was there while my depression and my self-harm problems. Taylor was there when my (ex)boyfriend broke up with me on my birthday... That year she recorded RED and “All Too Well” made me cry every day, but it also made me stronger. My dad left and only Taylor knew how I wanted him to “Come back” and “Be here...”. He started a new family without me, obviously. 1989 was my very first Taylor’s show in Germany, Köln, whit my mom. We had so much fun. Some economic problems started and I had to work while studying my nurse degree. I saved a lot and I went to “reputation Stadium Tour” in Dublin with my mom. Andrea gave us rep room passes and I showed her my “fighter” tattoo. She knows my story now. I hugged Taylor and somehow that was everything.”
-Clàudia, 23 years, Spain (@alltoo_swift on Twitter).
“When I was 12 (in 2009), one day I was watching Disney Channel and the “Love Story” mv came on. I just fell in love! Me and another friend started listening to more and more of her songs and we were really crazy about it! We were always singing her songs, laughing and dancing. We planned on going to her shows and meet her.”
-Sara, Spain (@EverySwiftieDay on Twitter).
“I haven’t been part of this fandom for a long time, at least compared with half of it. At the beginning, it made me feel uncomfortable, as if I wasn’t worthy of all the joy this family brings. Now, though, I’ve realized that this big family welcomes everyone, and I feel confident to tell my story. I have this weird “ritual” of walking from side to side of my corridor while listening to music, and that’s how I started listening to her music, back in 2017, with “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” and “You Belong With Me”. I knew who she was, but I couldn’t consider myself a Swiftie, not yet. And then, “Look What You Made Me Do” came, and I wasn’t ready for that. I just clicked on it because I was curious, but once I heard it I stopped walking in the middle of the corridor, my phone in my hand, my eyes wide open, freaking out. I didn’t get all the references, but I knew some of them, and when the phone part arrived... I went to my mom running and told her all about it, and she was like “Since when are you a huge Taylor Swift fan?”. Days passed, “...Ready For It?” and the album came and I loved them too, and the “reputation Stadium Tour” began, and I really wanted to go. She didn’t come to Spain, so I knew I had to figure out a way to go to London. I made a presentation to my dad, with all of the prices, hotels and transportations, and he incredibly said yes. I remember that night as the best night of my life, and I can’t explain how happy and free and loved I felt there. I saw Taylor Swift’s magic happening in front of me, and I will be forever grateful for that.”
-Núria, 16 years, Spain (@TaysPurrito on Twitter and on Tumblr because yes, that is me).
Tumblr media
𝕿𝖆𝖞𝖑𝖔𝖗 𝖆𝖓𝖉 𝖙𝖍𝖊 𝖈𝖎𝖙𝖞:
Taylor's albums are still breaking records on the country. "reputation" debuted at #3 on the Spanish Albums Top 100 list, and has been there for 17 weeks, and "1989" debuted at #4 and stayed 70 weeks.
𝕿𝖆𝖞𝖑𝖔𝖗 𝖆𝖓𝖉 𝖙𝖍𝖊 𝖈𝖎𝖙𝖞:
Taylor has a big importance on the country, and the only show she has played there was for the "Speak Now World Tour" at Madrid, on the WiZink Center and had all 3,962 seats occupied.
𝕿𝖆𝖞𝖑𝖔𝖗 𝖆𝖓𝖉 𝖙𝖍𝖊 𝖈𝖎𝖙𝖞:
Spain has a very big Swiftie fan base. Its biggest fan account, @rincondetaylor on Twitter, counts with over 12.3K followers, still growing. When she came, she sold out, and the fandom wasn't as big as it is now.
Tumblr media
𝕮𝖔𝖓𝖈𝖑𝖚𝖘𝖎𝖔𝖓:
Spain is an amazing country, with big stadiums for Taylor to play and her presence still very active on the radios of the country. Although she hasn't come back since the "Speak Now World Tour", she is still breaking records.
𝕮𝖔𝖓𝖈𝖑𝖚𝖘𝖎𝖔𝖓:
Also, Barcelona and Madrid are the best places to host the show, not only because they have the enough capacity to but also because of the easiness to go to both of the places.
𝕮𝖔𝖓𝖈𝖑𝖚𝖘𝖎𝖔𝖓:
I just wanted to thank every single person (especially @EverySwiftieDay on Twitter) who has helped with this week's challenge. You are all amazing, and one of the most supportive parts of it all. Thank you so so much. Os quiero.

Duh.

So thank you so much for reading this! If you want to take a look to the Twitetr account, that’s the link https://twitter.com/Europe_Loves_TS and the account is called @Europe_Loves_TS . I would recommedn you to check it, since the stuff will be posted there before and the new country announcement is tomorrow.
Thank you so much again!!

Meeting Taylor In Minneapolis❤️
Tumblr media
Let's flashback to 12 years ago when I first heard "Tim McGraw" on the radio, I wasn't sure who was singing the song but I knew from that moment that whoever was singing it was talented. I asked who was singing that song to the people in the car and they said "That's Taylor Swift". I had no clue who Taylor Swift was but I immediately went online to see who this girl was and I saw that she had an album out and I had to go pick up the CD at the store so I could listen to the whole thing. After I listened to her first whole album I couldn't wait until her next album was released.
Now let's jump forward to 2018. My friend and I had bought tickets for us and my sister to the reputation Stadium tour in Minneapolis in December of 2017 and had to keep the concert a secret from my sister, Alison, because we were going to surprise her the day of the concert with the tickets. A long 9 months went by waiting for the concert to come around and the week of the concert finally approached us and we were so excited. That whole week leading up to the concert was filled with so many good luck signs and we had such a weird gut feeling about going to the show. We had all of our outfits planned out and ready to go and we had to make sure we had stuff for my sister to wear because she had no idea she was even going. We chose to wear camouflage and an old Taylor concert shirt.
The day of the show show finally rolled around and I got to surprise my sister with the tickets that Saturday morning and she was so excited to go, the first thing she said was "when is it?" Lucky for her it was that night and she didn't have to wait 9 months to go to it!
One thing that I still remember to this day is what my mom said to me before we left our house was, "If you meet Taylor you need to be nice to your sister and let her enjoy that moment too." And I immediately said back, "Mom, I doubt it will happen, there's a 1% chance that we will even see Mama Swift and meet Taylor."
So, we packed up into my parents car and headed to my friend Abby's house to get ready for the concert with a few other friends we met on Twitter who were going to the show with us. Multiple tubes of glitter later and all our "13's" written on our hands, we were finally ready to head to U.S. Bank Stadium and get in line to get into the concert.
Tumblr media
We got to the stadium about twenty minutes before the gates opened so we waited in line for that time and took some pictures and talked about what we were excited to see that night. Time flew by and they opened up the gates and it was time for the moment we have been waiting for for 9 long months. This was the first time I had been to the new stadium and it was so gorgeous and it's so hard to explain its beauty in words.
Before we went to our seats we had to go pick up our floor wristbands from a certain section on the concourse so we were able to get to our seats and after we all picked up our floor seats we went in and there it was. The stage. It was so big. I had only ever seen pictures online of what the stage looked like but seeing it in person was breath taking.
We got to our seats finally and our seats were in the perfect spot. We had no seats behind us, we had end seats and we had a big open space to dance our little hearts out. I couldn't believe that this was all happening in the moment.
Tumblr media
Our friend Kaitlyn, who had bought a ticket last minute and came from Chicago to go to the show with us didn't have a ticket by us but had a floor seat. She didn't want to go back to her seat yet and be alone so she stayed with us during the opening acts. Taylor's opening acts are phenomenal. Charli XCX put on one hell of a show and got the crowd pumped up for Camila Cabello. Camila is just a little darling, she's so cute and little that everything she does I want to cry.
After Camila, Taylor was next. Kaitlyn was ready to go back to her seat but before she left she said to us, "Not to say anything is going to happen or get your hopes up or anything but there were people from Taylor Nation watching you guys during both of the opening acts." My heart just stopped and I couldn't believe what she told us. Abby, Alison and I told ourselves to not think about that during Taylor's set because we didn't want to get our hopes up.
I DON'T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT MY BAD REPUTATION... it was finally time. Joan Jett blasted over the stadiums speakers and we all knew. Taylor was coming on stage after this song was done. We were dripping sweat, our glitter was everywhere and our hair was a mess but we didn't care. We were so ready for Taylor to come on stage.
The lights dimmed, the light up bracelets sparkled, screams echoing in the stadium and "Baby let the game begin," was heard over the speakers. Alison, Abby and I had already lost our voices but we were screaming so much when we heard those five words and finally she finally arose from under the stage in a black sparkle onesie and over-the-knee boots that just looked so stunning in the stage lights. ...Ready For It? got the crowd going crazy and we were in tears because we couldn't believe Taylor was right in front of us.
Four songs in her set went by and by this time Abby, Alison and I were so tired and sweating so much but we kept going because we were having so much fun and didn't want to miss any memories to be made. End Game was the next song in Taylor's set and one of my top three favorites on the album. This was the song I was most excited to see live because it's my favorite and I heard that she performed End Game so cool at the show. It was about halfway through the song and I was taking a Snapchat video of my singing "Big reputation, big reputation," and I didn't hear Abby say this to me but she yelled "Mama Swift showed up!" Since I didn't hear that (I later then heard it in my video weeks later when I was watching it) I could hear my sister talking to someone and I thought to myself how does my sister know someone here well enough to be talking to them and I turned around and it was Andrea Swift, Taylor's mom.
After I turned and saw Andrea, I tapped Abby on the shoulder and she turned around and we all screamed "Hi!!" She said to us "Have I seen you guys before? You guys look really familiar." We were like "No no no no!" and then she proceeded to say "Are you girls sure I've never seen you before?" and at this point we were crying because we knew that the next few questions that were coming were the ones we've were waiting for all night. "And you would never tell a lie to me, right?" and we all yelled in tears "NO!!!" and she then said "How does meeting Taylor in rep room after the show tonight sound?" and we yelled in her face "YES" and she gave us a big group hug and left and one of the members from Taylor Nation stayed to give us the rep room slip and our meet and greet wristbands. I've always seen videos and posts online about this happening to other people but never in a million years would I think this would happen to US.
Tumblr media
After we got our paper and wristbands we all called our family to tell them we were meeting Taylor after the show and the service in the stadium was spotty so we couldn't hear much of what they were saying to us over the phone but I all I remember saying was "I can't hear anything you guys are saying but we're meeting Taylor after the show okay bye!"
King Of My Heart was the song after End Game and that song I honestly don't remember at all, I was to in shock with what just happened and I couldn't physically focus on what was going on stage and before I knew it she was standing on our side of the stage doing her speech before she sang Delicate. She was so close to us and Abby and I just looked at each other and said "We're meeting her tonight, we get to hug her tonight." Taylor got on her little glitter ball that flew her across the stadium over to her first b-stage where she sang Tied Together With A Smile. We couldn't see any of the b-stages but we sang and danced our little hearts out that whole time.
When Taylor made her way back to the main stage it was the end of the show and all I can remember from that was the water fountain coming on stage and Taylor singing This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things, taking her final bow of the night and going under the stage. It was chaos after the show, people grabbing confetti, taking pictures and trying to find their way out of the stadium, but us on the other hand had to quickly make our way across the stadium to another section to meet Taylor Nation and the other people who were given rep room passes that night. We made our way to the section and saw everyone else in the section and we finally realized that this was actually happening and we were going to meet Taylor.
We filled out a few things on an iPad and once everyone was done filling things out, a Taylor Nation team member went over the rules for us before hand that way we had more time in the room to take pictures and socialize with everyone. They then brought us all backstage and we had to leave all our stuff on a table outside of rep room before we could go in and the moment we've all been waiting for all night was right there in front of us.
We walked into the room and it was so beautiful. There was so many things in there that I couldn't believe were in there. The throne from the Look What You Made Me Do video was there, the infamous Delicate dress, the rainbow dress from the End Game music video, the red throne dress and the black body suit with rep in silver sparkles from the LWYMMD video were in there as well. The walls were made of just fabric hanging down in gold and black, one wall was actually the wall from the outside scene from the Delicate video. We were given Instax polaroid cameras and film to be able to take pictures since we could't have our phones with us. I got to take many photos and having them as polaroids makes them so much more special, living the moment over again is so easy with those.
Tumblr media
After about 45 minutes hanging out, eating food and socializing with other people in the room, Taylor Nation told us it was time to line up to get ready to meet Taylor because she was back in a curtained off room waiting for us to meet her. We all got lined up and were waiting for the moment to finally happen and as we were all standing there Taylor peeked her head out of the curtain, doing her head swoop and said "hey guys!"and I couldn't believe she was standing right there in front of us and I yelled quietly "you're fake!" and my friend Kejana, who also got rep room, heard me but didn't tell me until later. Taylor then proceeded to say "I can't wait to meet you all and my mom is here and she's going to come hang out with you guys before you come back here and meet me! See you guys back here." In this moment I couldn't believe this this was actually happening in minutes.
Andrea came out of the curtain after Taylor peeked her head out and started talking to the group ahead of us before they went in to meet Taylor. A few minutes went by and we were next, Andrea came and talked to us and the feeling of talking to Taylor's mom was so unreal. She was so genuine and cared about us as people, she asked us where we went to school, what our names were and how old we were. The time with Andrea went by so fast and we were up next to meet Taylor, the moment I had dreamed about for 13 years was finally happening.
Tumblr media
The curtains opened and Taylor looked at us and said "hey guys!" and we said "Taylor, you look so good!" and her response to us was "No, you guys look so good! All your glitter is so cute." We then all hugged her and afterwards Abby had her moment with Taylor to tell her the things she wanted to tell her. During Abby's time with Taylor I noticed a piece of hair stuck on Taylor's sweatshirt, the OCD in me kicked in and I grabbed it off of her shirt and she looks at me and says "Oh my gosh, thank you so much." and I looked at her and said "I gotchu girl, no worries." After Abby's moment, it was my turn to talk to Taylor so, I said "Taylor can I tell you two things?!" and she said "Yes! Of course" and I said "For one, we just told my sister about the concert this morning and we've had the tickets since December. We kept it a secret for so long" and she goes "What! No way that is insane" and proceeded to look at my sister and said "that's so awesome!" My sister told Taylor "I've been going to your concerts since I was 5," and Taylor's response was to give my sister a high five and to tell her "You go girl that is so cool."
The second thing that I wanted to ask Taylor was something about her cats, Meredith and Olivia. I asked her "how are your cats doing?!" and she told me that they are doing so good and are as fluffy as ever! I then asked her if they were there in the stadium with her that night and she said "Yes. Of course, they are always with me and are usually just chilling in the dressing room." The inner child inside of me just exploded of happiness because I have loved those cats my whole life and always wanted the chance to ask Taylor about them or meet them in general.
After that I told her that I attended the Rascal Flatts concert in 2008 when she opened for them and was the first time Taylor performed in Minnesota as an artist and her eyes lit up and was so happy. She said to me "That was so long ago, you've been here a long time. I'm so sorry it took so long to meet you, I love you." and in that moment, her eyes never losing contact with mine, I knew she loved me and I knew she felt the connection with me. We then continued to talk about my shirt that I was wearing, because it was a concert shirt from the Fearless Tour which took place in 2009-2010 and I turned around and said "Taylor do these stops and date ring a bell?" and I couldn't see the look on her face but Abby told me when I turned around her eyes lit up and she was so happy to see that shirt and be reminded of that tour. During the time when I turned around I showed her my shorts I made for the show, with rhinestones and glitter and how it all came off and she said "but they're still so cute. I love them!"
The conversation between us started to die down and Abby asked her if she would write down stuff for us so we can get it tattooed and she hesitated at first because she isn't supposed to personalize anything but the security guy handed her the sharpie and paper and she wrote down lyrics from Holy Ground for my friend (I won't say which ones just to keep that special to Abby) and wrote down "I love you." for me. I couldn't think of lyrics at the top of my head when she asked me what I wanted her to write down and I knew the I love you from her would help me through a lot of things I go through in life. As she wrote these things down for us we kept asking her for things and she said while laughing "you guys! I can't write all this down" and continued to giggle. She was so sweet and so kind to us.
When she finished writing things down for us she said "you guys ready to take a picture?" and we were so excited for this moment and we asked her what pose she thinks we should do and she said to my sister to go in front of her because she's tall and my sister wouldn't cover her and after that she grabbed me and Abby so tight and pulled us in for a bear hug. I felt her head tilt onto mine and I lost it. I was so happy and content with life in that moment. The flash went off and that was it. I asked her for one more hug before we left and she said to me "of course babe!" and we left the room. 10 minutes of my life have never gone that fast before.
We walked outside where security brought our other friends to wait for us to come out and as we walked out the doors they all were screaming up and down and hugging us and asking how it was. We were still all in shock and we told them all the most memorable parts and showed them the things Taylor wrote down for us. We hung outside for a little bit afterwards to see other people come outside after meeting Taylor and everyone was so happy and that was everything to me.
Tumblr media
Writing this was emotionally hard for me to process all over again. It took me almost two months to be able to put it all into words. I am so thankful for this moment I had meeting Taylor with my sister and best friend. Something I dreamed of for countless years. Even though this story is over 3,000 words, the words still don't do justice to what happened that night.
All I can say is, I was enchanted to meet you Taylor.

Good Things: Part 2
part one
You were lucky, when the demon started making its way through the wake, to be wearing a silver anti-possession amulet. Elvis, Alicia and Jody weren't so lucky.
At one point, you were searching the manor with Mary, the stunningly beautiful and young mother Winchester. "I saw how Dean was looking at you. His father used to look at me like that." She said, quietly, not looking at you. She concentrated on clearing the room.
"Oh?" You couldn't think of anything better to say.
"I rejected John when he first asked me out. He was a Marine. I didn't want a soldier. Spent my whole life around hunters, didn't need more of the macho BS in my world." Mary finally turned to look at you. "Dean looks at you like he's trying to figure out how to win you over."
You cleared your throat. "I... don't... Dean has a reputation." You weren't sure why that was what came out of your mouth.
"I've heard." She confirmed.
"And I'd've been fine with that rep, but he was talking about some chick he had a connection with and I'm not the kind of chick guys like Dean cheat on their girlfriends with... I mean... I can't... Look at me."
"He doesn't have a girlfriend." Mary put her hand on your shoulder. "You should talk to him when this is over."
You did. After the exorcism, as you were watching Asa, Randy and Elvis being sent home in smoke, you bit your lip and approached him. "Thought I should actually say 'Goodbye' this-"
"You should come to breakfast with us." He interrupted. "We're takin' Mom to get some bacon. What do you say?"
You smiled. "Well, does this look like a body that says 'no' to bacon?"
You sat between Sam and Jody in a diner booth in North Dakota. Dean sat across from you, sharing a large plate of bacon with Mary. "Okay, craziest thing you've ever hunted?" Dean asked.
"Uh, probably the transsexual witch who cursed her community college to wake up in the body of someone of the opposite sex so they'd understand how she felt." You answered, before taking a bite of pancake.
"When you say 'she'..." Sam trailed off. It was a genuinely curious question.
"Born 'Michael', became 'Michelle'."
"What'd you do with her?" Mary asked, drinking down some coffee.
"Well, she hadn't actually hurt anyone, just confused the fuck out of 'em for about 16 hours, and she did it out of an overwhelming desire to be understood, so I put her in contact with a Wiccan priestess I know. Last I heard, she was flourishing in her new coven, really embraced the 'Harm ye none' thing."
"Wicca is new agey white-" Dean started to explain, but Mary shot him a death glare.
"Gardnerian witchcraft has been around since the Fifties, Dean. 'Wicca' replaced 'Witch' because the hippies wanted to beat the negative connotations, wanted everyone to know they weren't wart-covered crones in candy houses trying to curse everyone and eat little children."
"Oh, we met her." Sam spoke up.
"Who?" You and Jody chimed in together.
"The witch from 'Hansel and Gretel'. She was turning crappy adults into shitty kids so that she could eat them. Hansel was in on it."
You looked between the brothers. "You're bullshitting."
"Swear to God. She was one of the last old-timey witches from the Grand Coven. Probably only a small handful of 'em left. Rowena doesn't count." Dean answered Sam's unasked question.
"Who's Rowena?"
"A tiny Scottish ball of fury and dark magic. Not really evil, but definitely not one of the good guys." Dean responded.
"She got kicked out of the Grand Coven for being too ambitious." Sam followed up.
"Not to mention: you know Crowley? That's his mom."
"Crowley, the demon?" You asked.
"Crowley, the douchebag." Jody snorted derisively.
You laughed. "Okay. Somebody else, weirdest hunt you ever been on?"
"There was a Shifter who spent a year following Paul Simon's tour. He was killing people who had tickets to the shows so he could take their spot." Mary said, around a piece of bacon.
"Being the reason Bobby Singer found out Leviathans are allergic to borax was pretty weird." Jody provided.
"What's a Leviathan?"
"They almost ate the world, what, five years ago?" Sam asked Dean, who nodded. "They were seriously low-key about it, though. I'm not surprised you haven't heard of them."
"You sound like a hipster." You laughed. "So, what about you two? The legendary Winchester Brothers must have been on some ridiculous hunts."
"Oh, all kinds. Let's see, top of my head. Bloody Mary, killer clown ghost, haunted movie set where I got really into my role as PA, we killed Santa, the angels once wiped our memories and gave us new identities working office jobs. There was that time with the dragons. Oh, and when we went back in time and met Samuel Colt and killed a phoenix." Dean went through the list alternating between excitement and boredom.
"Not to forget everything Gabriel did to us. That was all ridiculous. Oh, and that alternate universe Balthazar sent us to where our lives were a moderately successful primetime TV show." Sam added.
"And Chuck's books about us."
"And finding out that Chuck was God."
"And not dying in the dust-up between God and his sister." Dean turned to Mary with a smile. "And getting Mom back as reward for mediating a reconciliation between them."
You stared at the table, going through everything you just heard. "Holy shit." You gasped out, finally. "I... I knew you guys started and stopped the apocalypse a few times, but... holy shit. Back and forth through time, alternate realities, you know God and he has a sister?!"
"You should stick around. We're bound to blow your mind some more. Crowley and our angel friend, Cas, are working together to find Lucifer, who was most recently seen in the body of has-been glam rocker, Vince Vincente."
"Oh, holy... Lucifer was in Ladyheart."
"No, Lucifer was in a dude who was in Ladyheart." Dean corrected.
"Wow. Your lives really are legendary."
"Well, you never know. Stick around. It might rub off on you. Then, you could be a legend." Jody nudged you, lightly, as Mary looked down with a smile. The moms were conspiring together.
"Yeah, well... I'm not sure if I could handle that."
"You don't know til you try, do you?" Dean smirked at you from across the table.
You took a deep breath. You had one more tool in your tool-bag to try to fend off whatever the hell was happening here: blunt, honest confrontation. "You are putting in a lot of effort here to get your 'I Fucked A Fatty' badge, aren't'cha?"
Everyone at the table jerked and the mood immediately fell into a limbo of apprehension as Dean blinked at you. "What?" He said after several long seconds.
"Oh, come on. This is obviously some Playboy Scavenger Hunt, right? Your list of conquests, a 'Fuck-it List'?" You took a bite of your pancake and looked pointedly across the table at him. "I'm a novelty, right? Bang a black chick, bang a latina, a milf, a mature... twins?"
Dean nodded, slowly, and licked his lips. "You think I've been flirting with you, trying to get you in bed, so that I can cross 'fat chick' off my list? Just makin' sure I got this right." You took a drink of your coffee and returned his uncomfortable gaze. He nodded again, then leaned forward. "When I was twenty-three, I met a chick named Ursula Green at a bar. She was five-foot-nothing, three hundred pounds, wearing a red halter top and a skirt with a split in the side clean up to her hip. She danced like no one was watching and threw a beer bottle at the redneck who told her to 'take her fat ass home' and I grabbed two nice big handfuls of her ass when I took her back to her home that night."
You swallowed. His green eyes bored into your soul as he continued. "She crossed 'fat chick' off my list." The way he said it was like he couldn't believe he was saying those words. "Now, I don't know what you've heard about me and I'm sure that I've earned a bit of that reputation... but I am not gonna sit here and let you think that I've been talkin' to you just because you're a little on the chunky side and that makes you a novelty. I don't know what kinda men you generally let into your life, y/n, but I don't play games like that."
You opened your mouth but no words came out. The other three occupants of the booth table all looked very uncomfortable, so you cleared your throat and stood. You threw a ten dollar bill on the table and walked out of the diner.
"Where the hell are you going?"
"I'm going home, Dean." You grabbed the handle of your driver's side door and pulled your key.
"Yeah, I got eyes, y/n." He growled, putting a hand on your car door to keep you from opening it. "Why?"
You turned to him, exasperated. "Because I don't know what to do!" You shouted, pulling away from your door and leaned against the backseat window.
"I've never had a man want me for anything more than a single-night novelty fuck, or worse a pity fuck, Dean, and I don't know what to do about a man like you wanting-"
"What do you mean, 'a man like me'?" Dean interrupted.
"A preposterously handsome biblical hero who shouldn't even look at a woman like me."
"What do you mean 'a woman like you'?" Dean shook his head. "Look, y/n, more than what I saw from you last year and-and what I saw from you with Jael last night, I have asked about you. Every hunter I've talked to since Spirit Lake has a story about you, some way that you've helped them in the past." You opened your mouth to argue that you weren't anything special and you'd always just done what any hunter would do, but Dean stepped closer to you and you were suddenly struck with how tall the man was. "You think outside the box, you put others first, you are the epitome of selfless and goddamn it, you're gorgeous."
You looked down. "That's not true..."
"Stop acting like you don't see it." Dean demanded.
For some reason you needed to resist him. "See what? I've got mirrors in my house, Winchester. I see-"
"You obviously don't see. You don't see what I see."
"Are you kidding me?! You really expect me to believe that you met me, spent two days with me, and I-I somehow impressed you enough that you've spent the last year with me on your mind? I'm not an idiot!"
"Yeah, not an idiot but you sure are blind." Dean took another step closer to you, looking down at you with a confused annoyance. "Fuck, y/n. Why the hell won't you-"
"Because it's too good to be true!" You exclaimed, pushing off from the side of your car and standing up to him, ignoring that his height was so intimidating.
"Good things don't happen to me, Dean, they never have. So when I have a stunningly handsome man telling me I'm gorgeous, it sets off my bullshit alarm."
"Good things don't happen to you because you run away as soon as they start!" Dean insisted. "You think those extra pounds around your middle are your defining characteristic, but they aren't. That weight is nothing and you need to stop focusing so much on it. I didn't even clock you as fat until you started that shit inside. This isn't bullshit, y/n. I leave my lies for when I'm on a hunt."
You bit your lip and looked up into his stunning green eyes. "Dean, I-"
His face softened. "I'm not trying to get you to jump in bed with me, y/n." He reached out and brushed a stray hair out of your face. His hand rested against your ear and his fingers twirled your hair. "But don't run. Stay. Let the good things happen... in their own time."
You pulled your phone out of your pocket and presented it to him. "Put your number in. I'll text you."
"You're still gonna leave?" He asked, disappointed, as he took a step back and took the phone out of your hand.
"I've got a hunt in Tennessee. Only reason I'm not on it already was for Asa." You answered. "But... I'm interested in... letting the good thing... this good thing... happen."
"The cautious approach. I'm all right with that." He said, tapping his thumbs against the screen of your cell phone. "I just texted myself so that I have your number, too. A warning: I drunk text." He smiled as he handed your phone back.
"Okay. As long as you don't send pictures I haven't requested... I'm okay with that."
"There gonna be pictures you do request?"
You chuckled, turning your forgotten key in the driver's door. "Maybe, Winchester."
"Can I request pictures?" He asked, as you got into your car.
"Not yet." You smiled as you turned your engine over and headed out.

via Politics – FiveThirtyEight
Welcome to a weekly collaboration between FiveThirtyEight and ABC News. With 5,000 people seemingly thinking about challenging President Trump in 2020 — Democrats and even some Republicans — we’re keeping tabs on the field as it develops. Each week, we’ll run through what the potential candidates are up to — who’s getting closer to officially jumping in the ring and who’s getting further away.
This week, the presidential field grew more diverse with the entrance of Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., and South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg.
Harris — who was born to an Indian mother and Jamaican father — announced her presidential campaign on “Good Morning America” and Buttigieg — who could make history as the nation’s first openly gay presidential nominee of a major party — posted video about his forming an exploratory committee on Wednesday.
They join a growing and diverse field of Democratic hopefuls, a cadre that could prove too large for a single debate at the first opportunity in June. Anticipating a crowded field, Democratic National Committee chairman Tom Perez revealed in December that the DNC would set thresholds, including polling and fundraising targets, to pare down the first group of candidates, then “draw lots,” should the group still be too large. However, the DNC has yet to reveal specific targets for those thresholds, but some figures — including Harris, who aides tell ABC News brought in $1.5 million in her first day as a candidate — are already clearly aiming for one of the coveted spots.
Jan. 18-24, 2019
Michael Bennet (D)
The Colorado senator attracted attention Thursday when he criticized fellow Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas. Bennet labeled Cruz’s current government shutdown-related concerns “crocodile tears,” and reminded Cruz of actions that led to a 2013 shutdown while Bennet’s home state was dealing with flooding.
Asked on MSNBC Thursday afternoon whether he was running for president, Bennet said he was “thinking about it … like every other person in [the Senate.]”
Joe Biden (D)
At a National Action Network Martin Luther King Jr. Day breakfast in Washington, Biden said that white Americans need to acknowledge and admit the fact that systemic racism still exists and must be rooted out.
The New York Times reported Wednesday that in a paid speech given by Biden in Michigan in October, the former vice president praised Republican Rep. Fred Upton, who then went on to defeat his Democratic opponent. The remarks were criticized by local Democrats, who saw it as a damaging error, according to the Times report. On Friday, at the U.S. Conference of Mayors, Biden defended the speech, explaining that he was proud of Upton’s work on a cancer research funding bill and argued that not everything should be viewed through the lens of partisanship.
Michael Bloomberg (D)
Bloomberg spoke at a National Action Network Martin Luther King Jr. Day breakfast in Washington on Monday, during which he joked he would ask former Vice President Joe Biden, who was also in attendance, for tips on living in Washington. He added, of himself and Biden: “I know we’ll both keep our eyes on the real prize, and that is electing a Democrat to the White House in 2020, and getting our country back on track.”
The former New York City mayor faced criticism from Democrats this week after defending the use of stop-and-frisk policing during a speech at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland Tuesday, and labeling efforts to legalize marijuana “perhaps the stupidest thing we’ve ever done.”
Cory Booker (D)
The New Jersey senator spoke at a South Carolina statehouse rally on Martin Luther King Jr. Day Monday after brief stops over the weekend in Louisiana and Georgia. In Georgia, Booker met with former President Jimmy Carter and the pair appeared on an Instagram Live video. “I’m very glad to have you here this morning, and I hope you come back,” Carter said to Booker. “And I hope you run for president.”
Sherrod Brown (D)
On Wednesday, Brown told MSNBC that he continues to “very seriously” consider a presidential campaign. As has been the case in past interviews on the subject, the Ohio senator referred to the importance of Democrats competing in the center of the country and a focus on employment and job conditions.
“To win Ohio, to win the industrial Midwest, the heartland, and the Electoral College you’ve got to speak to the progressive base, to be sure, as I have my whole career, but you’ve got to talk to workers and live where they live,” he said, later echoing the sentiment on “Late Night with Seth Meyers” where he said his party can’t choose between progressives and workers, but represent both groups.
Brown kicks off his “Dignity of Work” tour in Cleveland on Wednesday, followed by a visit to Iowa Thursday.
Pete Buttigieg (D)
Buttigieg announced the formation of a presidential exploratory committee Wednesday, with the 37-year-old South Bend, Indiana mayor explaining that he felt it was time for a generational shift in the nation’s leadership.
“I belong to a generation that is stepping forward right now,” Buttigieg said in a video announcing the committee, “We’re the generation that lived through school shootings, that served in the wars after 9/11. And we’re the generation that stands to be the first to make less than our parents, unless we do something different.”
Asked Wednesday by KCBS about potential concerns about his youth and experience, Buttigieg said his two terms as mayor and service in the Navy were more executive and military experience than President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence.
Julian Castro (D)
Castro spent Martin Luther King Jr. Day in San Antonio, where he took part in the city’s parade, marching alongside his brother Rep. Joaquin Castro, D-Texas.
An adviser to Castro told The Daily Beast that the former Housing and Urban Development secretary’s campaign already formulated workplace harassment policies and that it would support unionization among its staffers, should they decide to do so.
John Delaney (D)
Delaney spent last weekend in New Hampshire at multiple meet-and-greet events and attended the Concord Women’s March. After speaking with reporters and editors at the Nashua Telegraph last Friday, the newspaper’s editorial board described the former Maryland congressman as “somewhat impressive.”
Tulsi Gabbard (D)
In an interview with CNN Sunday, Gabbard said she did not regret her 2017 meeting with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, arguing that it is “very important for any leader in this country to be willing to meet with others, whether they be friends or adversaries or potential adversaries if we are serious about the pursuit of peace and securing our country.”
Eric Garcetti (D)
Garcetti helped facilitate negotiations in the Los Angeles teacher strike, which ended in a deal that the mayor called “a historic agreement.”
Jeff Flake (R)
At a Vanderbilt University panel, Flake criticized the Republican Party for moving away from “traditional conservatism.” He also said, “The Trump base is very real, very solid, but politically it’s just not large enough to carry ahead. I say that’s a good thing.”
Despite his differences with the president, Flake said at the event, “I hope we don’t go through an impeachment process because of what it does to a divided public.”
Kirsten Gillibrand (D)
In her first week since the announcement of her presidential exploratory committee, Gillibrand visited Iowa, where she addressed the Des Moines Women’s March Saturday. The New York senator addressed allegations of anti-Semitism against two of the Women’s March leaders, saying that there was “no room for anti-Semitism” in the movement and that the movement is empowered when everyone lifts each other.
At additional stops across Iowa, Gillibrand explained the moderate positions dotting her past, including her former defense of the Second Amendment: “I had only really looked at guns through the lens of hunting. My mom still shoots the Thanksgiving turkey,” she said, later noting that the NRA now gives her an F rating.
On Monday, Gillibrand spoke at the National Action Network’s King Day Public Policy Forum in New York, invoking the Bible as she discussed “speak[ing] truth to power,” in a moment that NAN’s founder Al Sharpton characterized as “preaching.”
Kamala Harris (D)
Harris officially announced Monday that she is running for president, telling ABC’s “Good Morning America” that she feels “a sense of responsibility to stand up and fight for the best of who we are” and that she’s confident in her “ability to lead” and “listen and to work on behalf of the American public.” She then grabbed a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich, before heading back to Washington and answering questions from reporters at her alma mater, Howard University.
In the 24 hours following her announcement, aides to Harris told ABC News their campaign raised $1.5 million from 38,000 donors.
The California senator hits the campaign trail starting Friday in South Carolina to speak at an event held by a local chapter of her sorority. On Sunday, Harris will hold a campaign launch event in Oakland, then on Monday she’ll participate in a CNN townhall in Iowa.
John Hickenlooper (D)
On Sunday, the former Colorado governor is visiting Iowa for a stop at a house party and a local brewery, one of his advisers told ABC News. On Tuesday, he told CNN that he would decide whether to run for president by March, and that he could separate himself for the field by sharing his bipartisan record.
“I’m probably one of the few, if not the only candidate who’s actually been able to bring people together who were in conflict, they were feuding, and get them to put down their weapons, take the time to hear each other and then actually achieve progressive goals through their willingness to work together and create a compromise,” Hickenlooper said.
Jay Inslee (D)
The Washington governor visited New Hampshire Tuesday to speak with students at Dartmouth and Saint Anselm colleges. He spent much of his time talking about climate change, an issue he claimed wasn’t being highlighted by other possible presidential nominees.
“Here’s an existential threat to the United States, and they do their rollouts and the words ‘climate change’ don’t appear,” he said.
Inslee also told the Associated Press that he’s been emailing with the billionaire Tom Steyer, a fellow environmentalist who recently passed on a presidential run of his own, but who has not committed to supporting another candidate.
John Kasich (R)
Kasich repeated a position he’s shared before when asked about a potential 2020 run during a question and answer session at the University of Florida Wednesday: “If I can’t win, I’m not going to do it,” he said.
The former Ohio governor wrote an op-ed for the Boston Globe to commemorate Martin Luther King Jr. Day. He decried the political division that led to the ongoing government shutdown and called upon Americans to take personal action to better their communities.
“Instead of sitting around worrying about what’s broken and not working in Washington, we’ve got to get off the couch and figure out what we can do by ourselves — right here at home, where we live. Volunteer at the food bank. Engage with your schools if something needs to be fixed. Drop in on a neighbor who has no one else to listen,” he wrote. “The opportunities are there, but we need to grasp them. That’s the cure for the breakdown in Washington.”
John Kerry (D)
Asked during a panel at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, if he had any message for Trump, Kerry answered that he should “resign.”
Amy Klobuchar (D)
Klobuchar delivered last week’s weekly Democratic address, criticizing Trump for “holding the hardworking people of America hostage by requiring them to pay ransom to reopen their government,” referring to Trump’s insistence on the inclusion of border wall funding in any appropriations bill to end the government shutdown.
Mitch Landrieu (D)
Landrieu spoke to MSNBC Wednesday where he discussed the government shutdown, saying, “The president is way stuck on stupid right now.”
“There is no mayor in America in his right mind, or her right mind, that would ever think about shutting down the government,” the former New Orleans mayor continued. “This is why the people of America are really frustrated with Washington.”
Terry McAuliffe (D)
Though he didn’t definitively commit to the race, McAuliffe told the New York Posts’s Page Six of a presidential run: “It’s not easy — but I’m a heck of a fighter.”
The Associated Press dug into McAuliffe’s PAC’s 2018 spending and found that it raised over $300,000 in the second half of 2018 and spent money on donations to the state Democratic parties of New Hampshire and Iowa — expenditures that a spokesperson maintains said were not related to a presidential campaign.
“Funds from Common Good were used to support governor candidates and state parties across the country who share Governor McAuliffe’s values,” Carson told the AP, adding that the PAC is closing.
Jeff Merkley (D)
In an interview with the Associated Press, Merkley said he would decide on a presidential run before the end of April.
Beto O’Rourke (D)
O’Rourke continued his tour of the American heartland, visiting Kansas and Colorado this week and blogging about it — to some mockery — along the way.
The New York Times reported Saturday that some Democrats were perturbed by O’Rourke’s individualistic style, and his merely lukewarm embrace of fellow Texas Democrat Gina Ortiz-Jones during the midterms.
Mother Jones dug up a video of O’Rourke covering The Ramones in a onesie and a sheep mask.
Bernie Sanders (D)
Sanders spoke at a rally at South Carolina’s statehouse on Martin Luther King Jr. Day and remained in the Palmetto State for three additional events on Tuesday. During a NAACP forum he said of a presidential campaign, “I’m going to look at it; I’m going to assess it.”
In a GQ profile Thursday, Sanders detailed what he felt his 2016 presidential campaign was able to achieve, even without capturing the Democratic nomination. ““We have had more success in ideologically changing the party than I would have dreamed possible,” he said. “The world has changed.”
Howard Schultz (D)
Advisers to the former Starbucks CEO are probing the possibility of an independent presidential campaign, The Washington Post reported last Friday, citing two sources with knowledge of the conversations. CNN matched the story Monday, quoting a source who said Schultz is “thinking deeply about his future and how he can best serve the country.”
Eric Swalwell (D)
Swalwell visited South Carolina Saturday to speak at the Greenville Women’s March and a gala for the Spartanburg County Democratic Party. During the day, he told the Spartanburg Herald Journal that he is “getting close to deciding” about a presidential run and discussed the role that the state will play in deciding the Democratic nominee.
“Any presidential contender better come through Spartanburg County if they are going to be in the White House,” he said. “It’s a steep mountain to climb for a Democrat in South Carolina since the state is mostly Republican.”
Elizabeth Warren (D)
Though still only in the exploratory committee phase, Warren continues to travel. She held an organizing event in New Hampshire last Friday, attended a Martin Luther King Jr. Day memorial breakfast in Boston Monday, visited Puerto Rico for a “community conversation” Tuesday, and visited South Carolina for another organizing event Wednesday. Friday, Warren stops in Las Vegas for an additional organizing event.
The Massachusetts senator was asked about the state of the presidential race in a CNN interview Tuesday, demurring when questioned whether she was “too far to the left.”
“I’m out talking about the economic issues, about how government works, about what’s happening to middle class families, working families, all across this country — why the path has gotten rockier and rockier. This is what I’ve worked on all of my life,” Warren said. “I’m delighted that there are lots of Democrats who want to talk about ideas, who want to talk about a way to build a stronger America; I believe in that.
Andrew Yang (D)
Yang, an entrepreneur, was interviewed by Rolling Stone this week about his under-the-radar campaign, where he explained why he was running for president.
“I was stunned when I saw the disparities between Detroit and San Francisco or Cleveland and Manhattan. You feel like you’re traveling across dimensions and decades and not just a couple of time zones,” he said. “None of our political leaders are willing to acknowledge the elephant in the room that is tearing our communities apart, in the form of technological change.”
He additionally outlined a key component of his platform: a universal basic income of $1,000 per month for all Americans 18 and older, which would be funded by a value-added tax, explaining: “If you have a town in Missouri with 50,000 adults and they’re all getting $1,000 a month, that’s another $50 million in purchasing power that comes right into that town’s local economy — into car repairs, tutoring or food for your kids, the occasional night out, home repairs. And that money ends up circulating all through that town.”

@taylorswift I’m so sad I didn’t get to meet you last night. My dream was to have you be a part of our announcement. I couldn’t even imagine being able to share a photo of us with you, my idol, holding this onesie to announce our exciting news after having a really difficult 2017 (experiencing a miscarriage with complications and having to wait 10 months to even try again). And getting to show all the friends I made on here who helped me try to get this to you. I was hopeful it would happen but I guess it isn’t my time yet. I hope I’ll still have a chance to meet you someday! Whether it be at the baby shower or whenever your next tour is. This is our first, and the excitement and fears I have can’t be explained. I couldn’t believe I fell pregnant in time for your concert to try to have the opportunity to do this, and better yet, the estimated due date is Dec 14 (crossing our fingers for the 13th)!! All signs point to you and I hope you can be a part of our story in some way. I had the time of my life last night in Glendale. I watched your mom come up to a mutual of mine on Twitter in the seat right in front of me and picked her for Rep Room. I don’t think that will ever happen to me at a show but I hope someway I can catch your attention on here. I cried last night watching you come on stage after the intro video and again while you were so close singing Dancing With Our Hands Tied and you looked over in our section and possibly saw the onesie. Thank you for all you do for us. I hope you know just how much your music, love, generosity, passion and humor means to each and every one of us. Til I see you again, have the time of your life on this tour, k? ♥️

I’ll Stand By You Forever
When I was about 10 years old someone showed me a song called Our Song and I was in love. I heard another song by the same singer called Picture to Burn and I was even more in love. A little bit of time went by and now I was in middle school and I heard that same singer, Taylor Swift, was coming out with a new album and I was so excited. I listened to all of her old songs, watching all of her music videos and YouTube vlogs, and learned the words to every new song. When she was going to be on SNL, I watched SNL for the very first time at 12 years old. Finally, I saved up all my money and went to the FEARLESS tour concert in Kansas City.
I remember it vividly. I wore a flannel and bracelets stacked up to my elbow with a 13 on my hand. It was one of the first times I was allowed to wear makeup and I went to the show with mom. I remember tears coming to my eyes and rolling down my cheeks when the beginning of You Belong with Me Started. And I just stood there with my mom smiling at me. I remember seeing Abigail sitting near the B stage and she smiled and waved to me and I was so happy.
A few years later I was a sophomore in high school and it was the Speak Now tour at Arrowhead Stadium and I wore my Taylor shirt and curled my hair and wore glow sticks all over my body and I had never been more happy than to see an NFL arena filled with people who loved Taylor. I remember she sang “Superman” for the first time live.
A few years later I was a senior in high school and I went to the RED tour with my sister. We took pictures at all of the fun diet coke photo stands outside the area and made friends with the people sitting beside us and Taylor opening with “State of Grace” was the best thing I had ever seen and I still swear she looked me in the eye when she was on the B stage. I had never felt so happy and satisfied in a single moment at that point in my life. I remember waiting around after the show ended for 45 minutes watching everyone that had been picked for the RED ROOM being so disappointed my heart hurt but being happy for them regardless because I knew my time would come.
I was a freshman in college when Taylor announced she was releasing a pop album and everything felt right in the world. She was going to do what she did best and I couldn’t wait to hear her stories. I bought two of the album, as I do with every album, and had to explain to all my new college friends why I love Taylor so much and they laughed and told me I was crazy but I could tell they liked the songs too. Sophomore year of college I drove all the way home to Kansas City from my college to go to the 1989 WORLD TOUR on a school night with my sister and I remember crying listening to Taylor’s clean speech that night. Freshman year was hard for me but 1989 was the soundtrack that got me through every second of it.
Then something happened. Just when Taylor was on top of the world and I felt like she was finally getting everything she deserved, everyone around me both on line and in my life lost a little sparkle for Taylor and I couldn’t understand. I stood by her, defended her, cried for her, and felt for her. I never thought I would have seen the day people would have done that to her and I learned a lesson that year. There are some people that others simply want to see fail. When you are doing SO WELL and seemingly never messing up, people are excited when they finally see you go down. I learned a lot about our culture too and who society is celebritizing and couldn’t understand why no one saw what I still saw in Taylor. Nevertheless I stood by her, waiting every day for TS6.
When the two year mark passed, I knew what Taylor was doing. She was living her life and I was happy but I missed her. And then one August day of my senior year of college, she came back.
And she came back stronger. She came back with songs that have made me laugh, cry, and scream. I stood by you @taylorswift and I always will.
I’m going to the Kansas City Rep show on September 8th with my boyfriend and I can’t wait to see you again. Thank you so so much. @taylornation

#XD30 - NINE | DOUBLE TROUBLE
[ New Flame - Jada] "And now, give a huge Miami welcome to...FLAME!", exclaimed the announcer. The arena went completely black as we took our marks on the set. I would appear behind a veil-like material that would act as flame at the top of burning car and my brother would step out of the car. The car was was being moved on a moving walkway on the stage to give the illusion that my brother was driving. Red lights begin to flash as the car parked center stage. The audience goes crazy. They scream so loud that I was afraid that I would miss my cue to come in. My brother and I prayed fervently before we left the hotel room that evening and were confident that we would put on a great show. Here we are. Two kids from a small suburb right outside of Atlanta, Ga performing for thousands of people. "Are y'all ready to dance?!", I say as loud as I can over my mic. "Let's take a ride. I guarantee to have you home before the morning light.", Jace began singing. His voice was so perfect. He looked great. I knew he was nervous. Hell, I was nervous. But it was something about jumping out there on that stage and the energy of the audience that took all of that nervous energy away. We performed for 40 min and the crowd loved every minute of it. We had one costume change and somehow wardrobe misplaced my shoes for the second costume but besides that, our show was flawless. "Thank you everybody! Be sure to get our debut album 'Double Trouble' available everywhere on July 1st!", I said as we left the stage. We exited the stage and I immediately jumped in my brothers arms. Jace is literal perfection. I know I'm the outgoing one but I want to be like him in so many ways. I look up to my brother and I hope our, already strong relationship, grows stronger. After our embrace we head back to our dressing room to meet Mona and to our surprise our entire family was waiting in the hallway. "Oh my God!", I screamed running into the arms of my grandpa. Bishop, was the first person I saw and then I hugged my grandma, mom and dad. A couple of our aunts and uncles came along as well as our cousins. We even had a couple of close friends from our church all there with flowers and balloons to celebrate our awesome performance. It meant so much for us to be here. Growing up as preacher's kids, we were blessed to have family who supported our secular music. However, we didn't push the envelope when it came to our lyrical content out of respect to our upbringing and legacy. After hugging everyone and exchanging words of excitement I changed so that I could join everyone else in the arena to see SASSY perform. They came out and did their thing...if that's a nice way of saying that they were "ok". It felt like we were at an entire new arena watching from the audience. Everything is much different on stage. We hadn't interacted with SASSY since we've been here. I didn't even get close to them at the pool party but Mona informed us that they were looking forward to meeting us at the afterparty tonight. The concert ended at 11pm exactly. We rushed back stage for a quick meet and greet. Our family and loved ones went back to their hotel to rest up. We would meet them for breakfast to celebrate tonight's show. I was taking a picture with the last fan when I heard someone scream. After the previous night's events I jumped out of fear. When I looked up I saw Q walking in with 2 dozen red and white roses. I can't explain the way I almost ran up to him and kissed him. I had to remind myself that I haven't even called him yet. "Superstar you were amazing and I had to make sure I came to tell you that myself.", Q said flashing a smile as if he was Jay Z looking at Beyoncé. After tonight, honey I felt like Beyoncé. I ran to him to give him a hug. I've never received flowers like that from a guy so I thought a hug would be the proposer exchange, although he was looking so good I wanted to give him some of "Jada's Pink Kit" right backstage. "Thank you friend!", I said with my face buried in his neck. You call guys 'friend' when you aren't sure of their motive but yet you have a motive of your own. It keeps things neutral. He smelled so good. "I'm so happy you came.", I said. "I told you I was. You're too pretty to lie to.", he said. I blushed. "I can't stay long because the car is waiting. Maybe I'll catch you later?", he asked. "I understand and yea....maybe.", I said with a flirty smile. Security escorted me to my car. I was slightly disappointed that it was Paul again and not Ernest. I hadn't see Ernest since he brought me back to my room. I hope I didn't break his dick and have him in the hospital. I should probably check on him. "Hey Paul.", I begin to ask as he opened the door for me to get in the car. "Where is Ernest?", I asked. "Ernest had some family matters to tend to. He will be back tomorrow.", Paul replied. "Oh ok, just asking. You're great. I just remember him saying that y'all rotated so I didn't know if I need to report him if he had you out here working doubles for him.", I lied. I got in the car. Truth is, after performing like we did tonight, I was extremely turned on. Something about all of that hip thrusting, and knowing that every person in the audience is lusting after you in some way, made me horny as hell. Mona, Adrienne and Jace were already in the car when I got in. We laughed and looked at footage from our set on various fan's social media pages. Mona was so proud of us. I can always tell when she's excited because her voice goes from proper "Hello Miss White Woman" to country "I made the potato salad" really quick. Tonight's after party was at a night club called XHALE. The line to get in was wrapped around the building. Of course we were the special guests so we would walk right in. SASSY was walking in when we pulled up so we had to wait in our car until their security team had them situated inside of the club. I thought about the flowers Q brought me and how good he looked tonight. It was crazy that this time last year I was at a TRAPPERS concert. I remember it ended early, because of a fight, but it was so fun and since then I followed the popular rap group keeping up with their music and appearances. Now, their lead guy was acting as if he was into me and brought me flowers after opening night. I decided to text him. I texted him: 'Hey Q. Thanks again for the flowers. If you guys would like to party with us tonight we are at CLUB XHALE. I would love to tell you thank you again in person.' I knew after I sent the text that he would have my number and a new relationship of some sort would be formed. What is a bitch to do? Hmmmm SEND! We get out of the car to walk the red carpet. People are screaming and taking pictures of us. My phone vibrated and I saw that it was Q. I stopped right there and checked the message. The text read: 'Ok mama. On the way to you.' My inner hoe began to rise. He called me mama which means he must be daddy. We are about to play house! I continued into the club trying to decide if I was going to play 'hard to get' or 'hard to get away from'. He's a celebrity with millions of girls throwing themselves at him daily. He probably has baby mamas and groupies galore. I better not mess with him until I know I can keep my feelings out of it. Shouldn't be hard because I still had a mission to get as much as I could on this tour. Guys do it all of the time so for this tour I was going to rep the rockstar life for the ladies. We head over to our section and 'THROW SOME MO' began playing. I immediately started throwing my ass to the beat. I could see Jace shaking his head before venturing off. About 20 minutes later, Mona walks us over to meet SASSY. They were just as I expected; Fake and fraudulent. I put on a fake show for them because I was grateful to be on their tour. Maybe after a couple of cities I would get to know them and like them. I tried to give the black girl of the group the "hey Sis" wave and she looked at me with a smile that read "umm excuse me I don't speak peasantry." I knew then I'd probably eventually have to catch her outside and throw some hands. Such a dry weave heifer. They were eating my brother up. The can look but that's all they can do. I was going to find the perfect girl for my brother and it wouldn't be any of them. I felt an arm wrap around my waist. I turned around and it was Q. I gave him a tight hug. I turned around to excuse myself from Mona and the rest of the crew when I noticed ol' girl from SASSY, the black one, looking like she felt some type of way about Q coming for ME. I decided to rub it in. "Hey Mona, if anymore of the fans want to meet us just text me. I'm going to the bar to talk to Q.", I said and then turned around making sure my hair flicked over my shoulders. I grabbed Q's hand and escorted him to an empty space at the bar. "You came.", I said like a little girl excited to see Santa. "Of course. You rang.", he answered trying to rhyme. It was cheesy but in a cute way for a rapper. "Can I get you a drink?", he asked. "Sure, I'll take a...", I began as he cut me off. "Hey Mike! Hook me up with 2.", he yelled at the bar tender. First name basis? Two what? "Don't worry, I come to this club every time I'm in Miami. Mike makes the best drinks and knows what I like.", he said. We got our drinks and began to talk. I learned that the other 3 guys in TRAPPERS all grew up on the same street as Q. They went to school together and pretty much got caught up in the thug life together. They were from Jacksonville, Fl. I wasn't aware that Jacksonville had thugs but whatever. The TRAPPERS were truly thugs just made over with a star appeal. We talked so much that I missed some messages from Mona. I glanced across the club and they were having a good time so I didn't bother to text her back. I also notice Paul not too far away. When he wasn't looking I took Q's hand and pulled him down a hallway that lead to what looked like offices. There were people in the hallway. I needed to get somewhere a little quieter. I felt like we had been screaming to hear each other all night. "So where are y'all going after this?", he asked. "We have a show in Charlotte tomorrow night and then we have a day off before heading to D.C.", I answered. "Oh word. We'll be in D.C. in a couple of days too. We have a performance at Howard University. They want us to come encourage students to go to school. I hate school and didn't go to college but I'll take whatever check Howard is writing.", Q said with the smile of a scammer. "I hear ya. Well I'm a college drop out thanks to our record deal and this tour. Maybe I'll see you there too.", I said. "You said that like you're about to say goodbye", he said with a look of disappoint. "Oh no, I just didn't want to come off thirsty and ask you to hang out in D.C. I'm a direct person but I'm still taking in everything that's going on right now. Don't let me keep you out late though.", I said with a chuckle putting my head down just in case I came off crazy. He grabbed my chin and pulled my lips to his. HOE! Before I knew it I had my hand around his neck and we were kissing. It was crazy that Chris Brown's song 'New Flame' was playing in that moment. After a while I no longer heard the music or noticed anyone else's presence in that moment. He pulled away. "I would ask if I can take you back to your room but I don't want to come off too direct either....although I am a little thirsty. Do you mind thirsty Jada.", he said running his tongue across his top grill. Forget the hotel. I couldn't wait and I knew the crew would want to stay up and talk about tonight. Whatever was about to happen will have to happen right now. I thought about seeing if we could 'talk' in his car but he's a celeb and I know there are a lot of people who would chase us once we exited this front doors. I look around and notice one of the office doors cracked open. I take his hand again and lead him into the room not caring who saw us go in. Once inside I answered him, "No Q. I don't mind thirsty. Take your sip." I must have used the same tone of voice I used on Ernest because before I knew it he grabbed me up and laid me down on top of a desk knocking over folders and boxes that were on top. The lights were off but I could see him lick his lips from the light coming from under the door. I had on a simple black body dress with bedazzled stilettos. He pulled my dress up and pulled my sheer black thong off. I laid their in disbelief. Again. I was at this guy's concert a year ago watching from the top section. This was turning out to be a wonderful testimony. He caressed my legs all the way up to my thighs and then stopped to rub my inner thighs. He takes a few seconds and then introduced his index finger to my golden gate. He then used two fingers while staring me in the eye the entire time. Bitch he was trying to connect with me. My goodness began to moisten as he removed his fingers and stuck them in his mouth to sample a taste of me. That was a first for me and I wanted to propose to him right there in that moment. Still staring at me, he lowered himself to his knees and removed the cap he was wearing. He disappeared for a second and then I feel his hands again. I feel the warmth of his face and breath on my inner thigh as he traced circles on my thighs with his tongue. Before I could let out a light moan he took his tongues and thrusted it inside of me. I immediately grabbed his plaits. He went to town on me, licking me like a never-ending lollipop. The music was loud still so I didn't have to mask my moans. It felt so good that I wanted to cry. I fought back tears because I figured if I cried it would make me look inexperienced and I wanted him to think that I was used to this. After about 10 minutes my phone began vibrating none stop. He reached for my phone and handed it to me. I notched that he had accepted the call. I couldn't hang up because it was Adrienne. She was probably looking for me. "Hello!", I said trying to hide my moans. "Yes..mmm..I'm ready...ahhh..I'm saying bye to Q...ahhhh...I'll be right there give me three minutes..mmm.", I said and hung up the phone. After I hung up..Q stood up and leaned over me. He bent down and placed his fat tongue in my mouth allowing me to taste my own honey. That made me so hot that I wanted all of him. He stood up and put his cap back on. He then pulled my panties back up and I pulled my dress down. Reaching for my hand he said "Come on, let me walk you out." I knew that probably wasn't a good idea. My face was flushed and it looked like I had been crying so I didn't want anyone to make up any stories. "I probably should go out alone. They are waiting at the end of the hall and I think we should keep this on the low. It's sexy to me.", I said. "So next time it's your turn to hit me." "I sure will mama. You taste so sweet. I'm fighting not to throw you back on the desk.", he said taking a handful of my ass in his hands. I hug him and kiss him on the cheek. I have to make him crave me and want more so I decided against another kiss on the lips and I didn't even say good bye. I looked down and saw the print in his pants. Looks like what they say is true. The slim ones be packing. I open the door and before I can open it all the way I saw Adrienne standing there as if she was about to walk in. I slip out without letting her see inside. "Did Q leave already?", she asked. "Yea I said.", putting my head down in shame. "What's wrong with you? Looks like you've been crying.", she said. "Everything was just so good tonight. And Q made me feel good. That's all.", I replied before walking away towards the exit. "If you say so hoe.", Adrienne said following behind me.

Taylor Appreciation Post ❤️
Dear @taylorswift ,
I wanted to let you know what a huge impact you have had on my life.
This is me in 2006, the year your self titled album debuted.

Almost 9 years old I remember OBSESSING over the rhinestone makeup look in the teardrops on my gutair video and you can only imagine my excitement when you started using the rhinestone gutair! I took a Barbie gutair and covered it in rhinestones so my dolls could be just as cool as you.
This is me in my 10th birthday. I had been begging my parents to let me take gutair lessons, because I wanted to be just like you, And they surprised me on my birthday with this beauty (gotta admit I was a bit disappointed it wasn’t covered in rhinestones😂)

Shortly after I turned 10 I began taking dance class. This turns out to be such an important moment in my life. Being almost 21 now, I am pursuing a career in Dance! I am a Dance major at Columbia College Chicago , with my dream job being a dancer for you 😘😘 Anyway, my first recital ever I danced to Love Story ❤️
The years following were very hard for me. I started developing a severe illness and life was pretty low. I honestly would not have gotten through without Speak Now. Though I wasn’t able to go to the tour or really leave my house during that era, my dad travelled to Nashville for work and each time would bring me back some merch from the different country music museums.
Couple year later RED arrived! During this time I had started my first job and my first purchase with my newfound financial freedom was you guessed it, tour tickets ❤️
Tumblr media
Now about 16, I can remember the amazing moment you came rising out of the stage at soilder field to State of Grace and I couldn’t believe that you were there... like for real in the flesh. That I was seeing you with my own eyes!! I remember thinking how amazing it was, how I was breathing the same air as you ( even though we were outside and I was in sec 305 😂😂)
Couple years later 1989 came around and agian I got tickets. Shake it off was my anthem!! I danced around the house like a crazy person to that song, it drove my mom crazy!
Tumblr media
Shortly after the 1989 tour, I expirenced a relapse with my illness. I was hospitalized for 10 months. While I was in the hospital one of my caretakers when I was having a bad day would bring in her Ipod and sit with me and we would blast your music. She knew it was the one thing that could make me smile on my worst days❤️💕
I have to tell you that during all these years I really struggled with finding myself. With embracing who I am and your music has helped me so much. I have always wanted to be a performer and so many people along the way have told me it’s a waste of my time (all they’re ever gonna be is mean) and it will never work out. Watching journey to fearless, knowing your story and seeing your immense success has given me the courage to pursue Dance anyway!
REP TOUR!
Where do we begin! Opening night I suppose is a good place to start. I travelled from Wisconsin to Arizona to see you! I got to the stadium at 8 in the morning, despite having a reserved seat, and waited outside all day in the 104 degree heat. I loved every min of it. I was able to meet a lot of amazing people that night and I have remain in close contact with someone I met that night and we have become really good friends!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
CHICAGO! This is where it all began for me! Where I saw u the first time! Night one: AMAZING!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But night 2 changed my life. The pride speech... that was such a moving moment for me. I was sobbing the whole time and I can’t explain the joy I felt. Following the show I changed my bio on here to include “proud gay woman”. Proud has never been a word I associated with my sexuality. But hearing 52,000 people cheer when you said you respected our journey... it made me proud to be who I am. And then the rain 🌧It has been an absolute DREAM of mine to be at a rain show of yours since the fearless rain show! Just another amazing emotional moment.
Tumblr media
Well now that I’ve rambled long enough I just want to say thank you for a life of support, encouragement and friendship. I hope one day we can hug so I can thank you in person.
See you in Columbus, Cleveland and Arlington!!! KEEP KILLIN IT GIRL! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!❤️❤️

Latest story from https://movietvtechgeeks.com/kathy-griffin-loses-anderson-cooper-love-plus-ariana-grande-benefit/
Kathy Griffin loses Anderson Cooper love plus Ariana Grande benefit
Surely comedian Kathy Griffin did not expect all of this madness when she released the controversial photo of her posing with a fake, gory Donald Trump head. Earlier this week, the comedian shared a photo, which was taken by photographer Tyler Shields, in hopes that it would create buzz around her (in a more positive way). However, the red-head soon faced ample backlash, as even Trump critics slammed her distasteful photo shoot which you can see here. Ever since the photo was released, Kathy has experienced major fall out. In fact, the comedian is apparently the focus of a new Secret Service probe, as the photo was inevitably taken as potentially threatening towards the current US President. In addition, several of Kathy’s contracts and shows have been cancelled, including her July 22nd appearance at the Route 66 Casino, a number of shows scheduled on her current Celebrity Run-In tour, and an upcoming gig she had booked with CNN. After controversy ensued, Kathy released a public statement, apologizing for her insensitivity. However, this hasn’t stopped companies and people all over social media from continuing to drag her through the mud. Consequently, Kathy has now hired attorney Lisa Bloom, who held an official press conference to address the scandal. In a statement released by Kathy via Lisa Bloom’s firm, the comedian claims that she is now being unjustly “[bullied]” by the Trump family. The statement read, “Earlier this week, Ms. Griffin released a controversial photograph of herself posing with a faux-blood mask of Donald Trump’s face. Ms. Griffin and Ms. Bloom will explain the true motivation behind the image, and respond to the bullying from the Trump family she has endured [at the upcoming conference].” On Friday (June 2nd), Kathy joined her attorney at her press conference and spoke candidly about the whole photo incident. In tears, Kathy told the press, “I don’t think I will have a career after this. I’m going to be honest. He broke me. He broke me. And then I was like, ‘No, this is not right.’ And I apologized because that was the right thing to do and I meant it. And then I saw the tide turning and I saw what they were doing. I would never want to hurt anyone, much less a child.” Here, Kathy referred to the Trump family’s claims that Donald’s kids were shaken up by the images of Kathy and the faux blood mask (including Donald’s young son, Baron). While Kathy Griffin continues her sympathy crusade after weathering a storm of criticism for her terrible Trump severed-head photo, sources say she’s seething about how Anderson Cooper dropped her from his CNN New Year’s Eve broadcast like a hot potato. Sources said Griffin had expected CNN “golden boy” Cooper to stand by her, but the news network swiftly announced she was fired from the NYE broadcast with Cooper, which they’ve done together for 10 years. TV insiders say respected newsman Cooper had no choice but to condemn Griffin’s disturbing photo shoot, in which she held up a faux severed and bloody head of President Trump. After the controversial image of Griffin went viral, sparking widespread backlash, Cooper tweeted, “For the record, I am appalled by the photo shoot Kathy Griffin took part in. It is clearly disgusting and completely inappropriate.” But a source said, “Kathy totally misjudged this. She truly believed that Anderson would stick up for her. She considered him a friend. While she has nobody to blame but herself, she feels somehow betrayed.” Griffin appeared in a tearful press conference on Friday where she sobbed of Trump: “He broke me.” No word about Cooper. The buzz at CNN is that Cooper could use the opportunity of Griffin’s firing to bring his longtime buddy, Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live” star Andy Cohen, into his NYE broadcast. Cohen also hosts “Love Connection” on Fox. The source said, “Anderson wants Andy to co-host with him. They are already doing a multi-city tour together, they are besties and have a great rapport.” Cohen revealed that they were set up on a blind date in the early ’90s, but Cooper says Cohen blew it during their initial phone call by being “too enthusiastic.” They were later introduced by mutual friends in LA and their platonic bromance blossomed. But sources add that Cohen “may have some contractual problems to overcome” with Bravo before he can appear on CNN with Cooper. Good news for pop music fans. Thanks to ABC, people all around the world will have a chance to watch Ariana’s benefit concert One Love Manchester, as it will be airing on the television network this Sunday. As you may have heard, Ariana, as well as several big name artists, will be performing in Manchester this Sunday in honor of the victims and those affected by the terrifying May 22nd attack. According to reports, Ariana will be joined on stage by artists such as: Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber and Katy Perry. Early morning TV show Good Morning America reports that the concert will air on many “ABC stations after the NBA finals.” In addition, viewers will be able to catch it on FreeForm too. While it is only Friday, Ariana Grande has already been spotted returning to the UK. The young pop star flew in via private plane, marking the first time that the she has been back to the UK since the scary incident (note: the bombing took place at her concert). Fortunately, along with the countless stars who have agreed to perform with Ariana, the “Side to Side” songstress also has her family and boyfriend (rapper Mac Miller) by her side. You can catch Ariana, and all of the other singers, perform in Manchester this upcoming Sunday on ABC (as well as several of their other stations). HBO responded Saturday to backlash after “Real Time” host Bill Maher used the N-word during his show, with the network calling his comment “inexcusable.” Maher was having a back-and-forth with Sen. Ben Sasse, R-Neb., when the senator invited the liberal talk-show host to visit his state. “We’d love to have you work in the fields with us,” Sasse joked. Maher responded, “Work in the fields? Senator, I’m a house [expletive].” Some in the audience groaned and a few clapped. Maher appeared to quickly reassure the audience and said, “No, it’s a joke.” “Bill Maher’s comment last night was completely inexcusable and tasteless,” HBO officials told the Hollywood Reporter. “We are removing his deeply offensive comment from any subsequent airings of the show.” The New York Times reported that the word was not cut out during HBO’s rebroadcast at midnight. Sasse did not address the comment and the two moved on to another subject. Sasse faced some criticism on social media for not quickly condemning the host’s comments. https://twitter.com/deray/status/870868834890153985 Deray Mckesson, an activist for Black Lives Matter, took to Twitter, saying, “But really, @BillMaher has got to go. There are no explanations that make this acceptable.” Maher was criticized last month for comments he made about President Trump and his daughter Ivanka. The host made his most recent controversial comments the same week Kathy Griffin faced fallout from a video showing her posing with a likeness of Trump’s severed head. Griffin said the video was meant to be a pointed comeback to Trump’s remark last summer that journalist Megyn Kelly had “blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of wherever.” Bill Maher has issued an apology for using the N-word on Friday’s edition of HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher.” Maher said in a statement: “Friday nights are always my worst night of sleep because I’m up reflecting on the things I should or shouldn’t have said on my live show.   Last night was a particularly long night as I regret the word I used in the banter of a live moment. The word was offensive, and I regret saying it and am very sorry.” A rep for Maher said the comedian was traveling on Saturday and unavailable for further comment. He is scheduled to do a comedy performance at Indianapolis’ Murat Theater on Sunday. The storm around Maher’s use of the phrase “house n—–” during an interview segment has been building via social media ever since the show’s 10 p.m. East Coast airing. The incident prompted some to revisit past statements from Maher about Muslims and LGBTQ people that have been widely deemed offensive. HBO is facing calls to fire Maher. The cabler issued a statement Saturday calling Maher’s choice of words “completely inexcusable and tasteless” but stopped short of any formal sanction against the host. Maher’s apology came about two hours after HBO’s statement. According to a source, Maher was surprised by the volume of the backlash but was also motivated to take the highly unusual (for him) step of issuing a statement out of sincere regret. As of Saturday afternoon, “Real Time” is expected to air next week in its usual 10 p.m. Friday slot. Legendary Southern rocker Gregg Allman was laid to rest Saturday near his older brother Duane in the same cemetery where they used to write songs among the tombstones, not far from US Highway 41. Thousands of fans lined the streets to honor the “Ramblin Man,” who was carried into Rose Hill Cemetery as a bagpiper played a somber tune. Family and friends, including musicians who played in The Allman Brothers Band over the years, gathered on a hillside overlooking his grave, which is shaded by huge oak trees. Many shared memories of concerts, and some blared the band’s songs from their cars and trucks. One carried a sign saying “You made our soul shine. We’ll miss you brother Gregg.” “I wouldn’t have missed this if I lived in China,” said Kelli Jo Hickman, who drove in from Murphy, N.C. She said her mom, Dixie, introduced her to the band in the 1970s, and she’s listened to their music ever since. The funeral service was private, with room for only about 100 people inside the small chapel. Mourners, including Allman’s ex-wife Cher, filed past white columns into the peach-colored building as five black stretch limousines waited outside for the short trip to the cemetery. Some slipped in through a back entrance. Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter had said he would attend, honoring the keyboardist who drew large crowds to campaign events during his 1976 presidential race. Allman, who blazed a trail for many southern rock groups, died May 27 at the age of 69 at his home near Savannah, Georgia, said Michael Lehman, the rock star’s manager. He blamed liver cancer. With Gregg at the organ and Duane playing guitar, the band began its rise to fame in the central Georgia city 90 miles south of Atlanta about five decades ago, and used to write songs while hanging out in the cemetery, Alan Paul wrote in “One Way Out: The Inside History of the Allman Brothers Band.” “He’s somebody who has been in my life first as an artist and later as a real person since I was about 8 years old, and so it’s shocking to think of the world without him,” said Paul, 50, who interviewed Allman many times for his book. Born in Nashville, Tennessee, Allman was raised in Florida by a single mother. Allman idolized his older brother, Duane, eventually joining a series of bands with him. Together they formed the heart of The Allman Brothers Band before Duane died in a motorcycle crash in 1971, just as they were reaching stardom. In his 2012 memoir, “My Cross to Bear,” Allman said he finally felt “brand new” in the 1990s after years of overindulging in women, drugs and alcohol. But hepatitis C had ruined his liver, and after getting a transplant, it was music that helped him recover. Allman felt that being on the road playing music for his fans was “essential medicine for his soul,” according to a statement from the Big House, the Macon museum dedicated to the band. Lehman said he spoke with Allman the night before he died. “He said the last few days he was just, you know, tired,” Lehman said. The night before he passed away, Allman was able to listen to some of the tracks being produced for his final record, “Southern Blood,” Lehman said. The album is scheduled to be released in the fall. “He was looking forward to sharing it with the world, and that dream is going to be realized,” Lehman said. “I told him that his legacy is going to be protected, and the gift that he gave to the music world will continue to live on forever.” Kevin Hart said his father’s drug addiction and his strong mother kept him on the straight and narrow. Hart, who has penned the memoir “I Can’t Make This Up: Life Lessons,” told Parade, “I couldn’t do drugs if I wanted. They were sold in the neighborhood, but I couldn’t personally go out and get them . . . My mom kept me away from that.” Hart, who has two children with an ex and one on the way with wife Eniko Parrish, added of his dad, who’s now clean, “I am who I am because of the mistakes that he made.”
