2024 Comic Log with Overall Ratings
Dungeon Meshi by Ryoko Kui [5/5]: incredibly funny, charming, full of interesting worldbuilding and compelling characters, some strong themes of entropy and consumption/desire and connection/ecology
Doom Patrol by Grant Morrison [5/5]: a darkly creative challenge to the Ubermensch masculinism that dominates comics
The Flash by Mark Waid [4/5]: breezily readable exploration of a character that I think has ebbs and flows, but generally features atypically fun time-travel plots and a great cast
The Flash by Grant Morrison & Mark Millar [4/5]: a solid continuation of Waid's themes and priorities that pushes Flash to his absolute limits
Astonishing X-Men by Joss Whedon [2/5]: tries to be mutant assimilationist, but can't even do that fucking correctly
X-23 by Craig Kyle & Chris Yost [3/5]: perfectly fine, a little hacky in its treatment of motherhood, but a nice and heartfelt contemporary take on the Wolverine: Weapon X story
JLA by Grant Morrison [5/5]: incredible, maybe Morrison's best ongoing achievement
Seven Soldiers by Grant Morrison [3/5]: very cool idea that doesn't really stick the landing but has a lot of bright spots and fabulous art
Batman: No Man's Land by Greg Rucka (and others) [3/5]: a crossover that features some of the best Batman stories and characterization, and also some of the worst; very much carried by the strength of its premise, best realized by Greg Rucka's stories
Animal Man by Grant Morrison [4/5]: features some of the best single issues I've ever read
All-Star Superman by Grant Morrison [5/5]: needs to be read. beautiful.
Grant Morrison's Batman Epic (includes: Batman, Final Crisis, Batman and Robin, Batman: The Return of Bruce Wayne, Batman Incorporated) [5/5]: despite having some questionable character decisions and being dense in a way that can be tiring, I love how it redeems Bruce from one of his worst periods and pulls together his values and history cohesively while injecting some great new ideas and consistent motifs - the idea of a hole at the center of everything, the constant imagery of spirals and recurrence, really stuck with me over time.
Action Comics by Grant Morrison [2/5]: frenetic, but very obviously shows Morrison straining against The New 52 reboot, and doesn't live up to its initial promise of a young Superman of the people, and ends on a sour note that seems to reflect Morrison's justified disillusionment with the industry
Detective Comics by Greg Rucka [3/5]: carried by the lovely monochromatic artwork, sets up some interesting ideas like Bruce's bodyguard but ultimately gets cannibalized by crossovers (coincidentally when the best art disappears)
Wolverine by Greg Rucka [4/5]: features Logan in lone wanderer mode, with some awkward threads that don't really go anywhere but also don't trip up the rest of the story too badly
Catwoman by Ed Brubaker [4/5]: peters out in the last third, but the first two are holistically great noir fiction, and have amazing illustrations
Hawkeye by Matt Fraction [5/5]: beautiful artwork by David Aja and Matt Hollingsworth paired with a compelling, clinically criss-cross structure both in paneling and serialization. astonishing that this book works as well as it does considering its protagonist is 1) typically boring and 2) a huge fuck-up
Punisher / Franken-Castle by Rick Remender [2/5]: fails to live up to its premise because Brian Michael Bendis had dibs on all the important characters, so it just throws everything out the window and does some random shit for a bit
Batman: Hush by Jeph Loeb [3/5]: perfectly fine blockbuster action-mystery with an eyeroll main antagonist
Detective Comics by Scott Snyder [3/5]: starts out strong, finishes super weak. I am pretty uninterested in hackneyed evil-since-childhood villains (see also: Hush), and I find the cynicism which runs through all its plots really poorly executed
Venom by Rick Remender [2/5]: fails to live up to its premise by trying to be a Peter Parker book (and also, briefly and inexplicably, a Ghost Rider book)
Black Widow by Marjorie Liu [4/5]: really gorgeous artwork from Daniel Acuna. I think the plot is a little convoluted and underbaked, but its spy-thriller antics were still quite enjoyable to read, and it has some surprisingly strong emotional beats for a character I'm not super-invested in
Birds of Prey by Gail Simone [4/5]: good cheesy fun with great character writing, though a rushed (and largely unnecessary) final act
Batman: Face the Face by James Robinson [3/5]: a "One Year Later" storyline that has some nice Bruce/Tim moments, but its main Two-Face plot is empty calories
Jonathan Hickman's Fantastic Four Epic (includes Dark Reign: Fantastic Four, Fantastic Four, FF [Future Foundation]) [5/5]: another series where, even though I can find it overwhelmingly dense or breakneck in pacing, its thematic payoff is so triumphant that I admire it a lot anyway; probably my second favorite FF run, full of fun sci-fi concepts, moving character beats, and creative changes to the team's structure like the Future Foundation
Superman: Up, Up, and Away by Kurt Busiek and Geoff Johns [5/5]: compared to Face to Face - the other big "One Year Later" return - it's literally no contest; incredibly charming, great art, thematic cohesion

Okay so i have an idea- TMC but with a storyline based off of FAITH. basically a crossover. ik it's been done before but i'd like to present my own take on it. Long ass character info list under the cut
Btw if you wanna rb this, please do! It let's me know people are interested
To start, I think the AU would/should be called When Faith Prevails.
The cult still exists, Preacher is the leader of the lower ranking members. The cat is the cult mascot because yes. I'll elaborate later.
All of the humans are traumatized!! Yaaaaay!!!
Mark (Father Heathcliff)
- 36
- absolute wet cat of a man
- takes on a role similar to John
- decided he wanted to be a priest so he could help people. Only wanted to become a priest after an incident in his childhood in which he attempted to finish an exorcism. One which the priest that had been called to the scene died during.
- Continuing the above, the faithful boy did what he could, as he was instructed to by O'Brien. He wasn't fast enough.
- Insomnia, night terrors, PTSD, anxiety, depression
Dave (Father Lee)
- late 50's
- Takes on a role similar to Father Garcia because it's fucking hilarious to me to imagine Dave blasting a demon with a shotgun
- he's too cool that's why he dies later
- cares for Mark a lot, considers him family
- became a priest due to his Visions (TM) as a child. He's been revered as a holy prophet since.
- somehow the most stable guy in this entire AU, had a good family life, decent childhood, stayed out of trouble, a very good child. He's mostly chillin, save for the fact that he Witnesses The Horrors every night in his sleep.
Father O'Brien
- died during an exorcism.
- he done goofed.
Cesar Torres
- Died at 16, somehow aged as a ghost? maybe because he's still attached to his body.
- a spirit bound to what's left of his mortal form. Cannot be at peace until his body is killed.
- an alt possessed him and took his body during a botched attempt to exorcise it out of his house. Turns out there was more than one.
- "talks" to Mark sometimes (leaves things out that mean different things, writes notes)
- "bleeding" constantly
- hates seeing Mark spiral like this
"Cesar Torres"/Alt Cesar
- Killed Cesar and took over his body.
- watch it gain humanity later (i'm sorry but giving Alts humanity and then making them spiral is my favorite thing to do. It's so much fun to watch an unfeeling entity, one made to kill, drive itself insane over being a failure)
- they/it at first, he/it later on.
Sarah Heathcliff
- before i go on, this is only an AU loosely based on FAITH. That being said, Lisa (or any replacement thereof) x John (or any replacement thereof) does not exist.
- 32
- Mark's distant sister, lives in the Cult's apartment building.
- stays away from religion because of her childhood
- some flavor of emotional management issues, that's what makes her so easy for an Alternate to manipulate/begin to possess.
Thatcher Davis
- look, i refuse to make him as young as he is canonically. not as old as Dave, but close. bro is at least in his 40's here. maybe very early 40's but 40s nonetheless.
- cop that hangs around the church for security.
- hangs out with Dave, calls him old man a lot
- trauma. so much trauma.
- Dave taught him how to exorcise an alt out of a given place, but Thatcher has something stronger (a gun)
- "I'm a brave boy" *Sees an alt* "NOT A BRAVE ENOUGH BOY FOR THIS"
Ruth Weaver
- used to live in the cult apartment building.
- She was sacrificed.
- Thatcher is still looking for her.
- He won't like what he finds.
Adam Murray
- He's just Michael Davies here what else can i say
-17
- humanity? gone. none left.
- he's in so much pain all the fucking time help him
Jonah Marshall
- Adam's best friend
-18
- alive. for now.
- anxiety, so much anxiety, hallucinates a lot.
- he knows how to use a GUN in this one folks
Lucifer/The Morningstar/ UNSPEAKABLE
- you see how he looks in canon? make it worse. make it a million times more uncomfortable to look at.
- eyes. All of the eyes. So many eyes.
- limbs? Many. Wings? Yeah, he has those too. They're leathery and bat-like with a layer of blackened feathers along the top.
- merciless
- created the alternates to twist the world to his design.
- likes to watch humans go mental, it's so funny to him <3
Important side characters (mostly Alts)
Six/The Anglerfish
- lures children in to either make them join the cult or sacrifice them, often replaces them with an alt to "spread the vision of it's creator"
- Warned Mark of what was to happen, was there to observe Mark failing his best friend
- bastard. Kill him. Right now.
- him and stanley are one in the same. Six is the anglerfish hiding in the darkness behind its lure. A monster behind a friendly face.
Preacher
- Kind of equivalent to Malphas but usually takes a form like that of Miriam's
- right hand to the UNSPEAKABLE
- bastard boy bastard boy bastard boy
- manipulative little prick
The Sacrifices
- various sacrificed animals possessed by lower ranking alts
Goat
- THE fucked up sacrifice
- little fucking bitchass daddy's boy. Asskisser of the antichrist. Desperate for the UNSPEAKABLE'S attention
- Alu's replacement

One idea I love is that the reason there are So many timeline inconstancies is that Micheal would randomly go though and change some of the dates as a form of petty revenge
Okay not exactly what you’re talking about but I was talking about timeline inconsistency yesterday and came up with... It’s not a theory, more just a concept that I think is neat to fill in an error?
So Michael Shelley was marked by the Spiral as a child because he saw his childhood friend get got. His whole thing in the archives was also that he never realised about the powers or their full implications, despite being around All Of That and also believing in them due to that prior experience.
And I imagine the fear caused by being around so much of the entities but having no reasonable explanation for them is tasty to the Spiral. I mean, look at season 2 Jon, he knew something was up but not what and it drove him to act like that. But Michael Shelley, from the tiny bit we’ve seen of him, didn’t seem like the type to go full ‘It’s 2am and I’m in the tunnels’, more ‘Something is wrong but I can’t figure out what and it’s terrifying, but if I speak up to my co-workers they’ll just laugh at me’.
But also, it’s probably pretty hard to work around all of those people who do know about the powers and not find something out, right? Fiona worked to keep him ignorant and I think maybe she at least thought she did? But I think the Spiral, having a fun time with the confusion Michael is under about all this, might have decided to step in a little, since he was already marked.
So my idea is that he learns. And then he learns again. And he keeps finding out in a recursion where every time he finally sees the truth, knows what the others know, he just kind of... Resets. Like a kind of save-state of ignorance. I realised after to explaining this to some people yesterday that the best way I can describe it, is y’know the “This is the Bad Place!” montage from The Good Place? Just jump cuts between different scenarios of Michael finding out and being equally shocked every time. He finds Gertrude’s notes and reads them. He finds the entrance to the tunnels and meets Leitner. Eric tries to tell him when he plans to leave the Institute, he’s left Michael in ignorance as what he felt was a mercy, but now he’s offering him a means of escape, and when Michael finds himself sitting at home with a screwdriver in his hand and bandages on the table, he isn’t sure what he got them out for. The Spiral keeps resetting him so that his confusion and fear can keep feeding it. And Fiona never even realises that that’s what has happened! She just knows that every once in a while, maybe months, maybe years apart, Michael goes a bit odd. It’s never that he forgets his job, exactly, but he’ll start asking where certain files go that he’s dealt with multiple times in the past, or put the wrong year down on a statement, or not recognise one that he himself had typed up recently. But it always works out, never enough to be concerned about, just a ditzy spell from silly, naïve Michael. Don’t think too hard about it. Though if they tried, they probably couldn’t. They’d forget he’d ever been acting strange.

Best Laid Plans
Hoo boy, I think I had An Thought About The Magnus today.
(Consider everything here to have a GIANT grain-of-salt disclaimer, because of course we can’t completely trust anything Annabelle says.)
It was, according to Annabelle, the fight between Agnes and Raymond Fielding that finally pried open the hole in reality wide enough to use as an escape hatch. And right after that fight, the Web tricked Gertrude into binding herself to Agnes. Why would it do that?
If yeeting the Fears through the hole really will pull the avatar out of everybody, it might also break the binding. Or at least make it less unpleasant for Gertrude to be yolked to an avatar of pure destruction. The binding might just have been a first attempt to get the Archivist to end the world, more than a decade before Jon was born.
...and it didn’t work. Why not? Because both Gertrude and Agnes were too stubborn to do anything about it, just in case that was what the Web wanted. Gertrude used the ritual circle in Scotland to attenuate it as best she could and then just ... endured.
Maybe Emma Harvey was Web-marked as a backup plan, or an alternative means of persuading Gertrude to end the world ... but that didn’t work out, either, for the Web or for Emma, in the long run. Gertrude just wasn’t suitable for ending the world.
Hence the idea of grooming one or more children as Gertrude’s replacement.
I say “one or more” very deliberately.
The statement “Web Development” from back in S4 implies that Annabelle started some kind of creepypasta website in January of 2015 — a few months before Gertrude’s death. “The Spinner of Stories” was collecting statement-like explanations of supernatural encounters, but we never got a very good explanation for what that  was all about. The website apparently folded, and the developer she hired disappeared, in July of 2016...
...around the same time Jon received the Web lighter from Breekon and Hope.
I think Jon and Annabelle were both marked and groomed and Chosen by the Web, and were working on the apocalypse in parallel, although only Annabelle knew it. She was collecting stories, her own little Archive, so perhaps she could end the world and then yeet the Fears through the hole. Once it was clear Jon was in deep enough, however, the Web shifted its focus to him, and Annabelle no longer needed her website.
My support for this, other than incoherent screeching about The Parallels, come from the two Neil Lagorio statements - “Creature Feature” and “The Puppeteer.” Lagorio put out fourteen films before he became disabled, and his fifteenth and last would’ve been called The Dancer. Fifteen movies, fifteen fears, the first of which was made in collaboration with a Spiral avatar (Gabriel, the Worker in Clay) and the last of which would’ve shared a title with Nikola Orsinov.
I think Lagorio was also a backup plan, getting himself (and his audiences) marked up by the Fears, using his “special cuts” to lure them through the reality hole. Unfortunately, he wasn’t one of those avatars who gets immortality in the bargain. But Annabelle became an avatar in 2010, and was able to spend six months with Neil before he died in 2012 (according to “The Puppeteer,” though the timeline for that one’s a little wonky).
(Speaking of wonky timelines, Emma Harvey either died in 2006 or 2010. Michael Shelley, Gertrude’s last assistant, definitely died by circa 2010, as a statement regarding the Great Twisting was given in Octorber 2009. Leitner says Gertrude had run out of assistants by the time he met her, in 2011 - which is also most likely the year Jon joined the Institute....)
Jonah was super reactive, not a grand chessmaster. The Web was also, to a great extent, reactive, but it had pieces on the board already to react with. If I’m right, Jon was steered to the Institute when there were openings in the Archives, but the Web couldn’t get Gertrude to take him on as an assistant - so he was left in place, just in case. Annabelle started working on her apocalypse project, but then Gertrude died, putting Jon in a position to replace her - even better than getting him in as an assistant first! But the Web still didn’t pivot to Jon as its primary plan until over a year in, after he’d demonstrated some staying power. (And started getting closer to Martin...)
(Was Emma supposed to be like Martin, someone close to the Archivist who could ping their berserk buttons? But Gertrude wasn’t that close to anyone, and far more cold and ruthless than Jon ever was. How long was Annabelle thinking about getting Martin onside before the Lonely? How many times did that part of the plan get revised?)
This, of course, implies there were yet other people in the same boat as Jon and Annabelle -- manipulated since childhood to be potential Apocalypse-bringers. (Gerry Keay, anyone?) But, well, survivor bias - we don’t know about them because they weren’t the ones who made it this far.

Is Martin going to be mentioned again in ToT? Or is that little snippet in the buried going to be all Jon remembers?
Below is Spoilers, including details breakdown of the story’s meta. Bewarned! This is long & convoluted as all get out. It basically can be summed up like this:
Tumblr media
Martin and other future people (not just events) have actually been mentioned more than that, and to answer your question right off of the bat, yes Jon will continue to remember.
As I was originally answering this, it kind of spiraled out of control as I dove into a detailed breakdown of some things so I decided to just go for the whole hog and put everything down here in one place. I’ve got a similar breakdown in another document, but that’s really just for keeping tabs on how many days have passed and not the meta analysis.
TL;DR on meta: Jon is leveling up at a ridiculous speed, but he already was high level to start out with so he’s really just lagging behind his adult self. The more he feeds the more he grows. In the Eyepocalypse, we’ve heard Jon lament that trying to access his powers within his body is like trying to “drink the ocean through a straw”, and it’s only gotten more difficult as his body has shrunk.
Another note on timing: in the original story, Jon had gained multiple marks in back to back horrible days. In my own small way, the pacing of these later chapters is repayment for Jon’s hell week.
Entity Touched events will be in bold. Jon’s powers being activated will be italicized. Remembering a specific person/statement/future event will be noted with (parenthesis). Please note that while I will put a specific name in the parenthesis Jon often does not consciously remember the name nor the full scope of the event/person/statement. I will keep a running total of how many days since the last notable entity touched event at the top.
Ch 1
Jon goes through the Spiral’s Doors. His body merges, and he fluctuates between seeing and Seeing. Eventually, his eyes settle upon Watching constantly. He struggles to remember Section 31 (Daisy and Basira “they were both strangers and enemies and friends“). He Knows Detective Davies exact schedule, and the train schedule. He attempts to Feed via Compelling, unsuccessfully. He Sees Detective Davies schedule change. He Senses stories nearby.
Ch 2
Day 3 post-emerging:
After reading a Story: he Knows the difference between true and fake statements, as well as Mr. Magnus’s true name and that he stole the name Elias. He can See farther than what his eyes should be able to, and is able to Watch Elias. He Compels Elias but does not stay long enough to feed off his answers. He remembers (Barnabas Bennett). He remembers (the feeling of his own rib.) He remembers (going into the Lonely to save someone). When pressed, he remembers (the Unknowing exploding into fire) and losing “them” (his Assistants). This causes him to vomit and creates a void within him that must be filled.
Ch 3
Day 3 post-emerging, less than one hour after reading a Story:
Jon summons tape recorders to listen to stories. He listens to dozens of Stories at the same time. Jon remembers (the layout of the Institute). Jon gives a Statement.
Ch 4
Day 3 post-emerging, hours after consuming dozens of Stories:
Jon remembers (the Dark Sun, and Looking directly at the Entities). Jon remembers (Michael stabbing him for Compelling).
Ch 5
One day after consuming dozens of Stories:
Jon reads a bedtime Story. This reveals to Elias that Jon is able to comprehend all languages.
Ch 6
Jon consumes multiple Stories per day, far exceeding the normal Archivist rate of consumption. He remembers (Elias unable to See him in Orsinov’s Circus) He is unable to lie. He walks through the Archivist nightmares and the nightmares of the Eyepocalpyse, but these future events are unable to be perceived by Elias. During these nightmares, he remembers (being hurt by several “monsters”.)
Post this chapter, assume Jon has read at least one bedtime Story and multiple Stories throughout the day for months.
Ch 7
Jon now Knows all answers to fact-based questions his teachers ask. He begins drawing Eyes that have some will of their own- refusing to be paired. Jon now speaks directly to the Eye. It is confirmed his eyes have now physically changed to be reminiscent of other Avatars of the Eye- ie Elias. Jon Sees all marks left on people by the Entities. He remembers (how the Entities make Avatars), (Simon Fairchild) and (that he did something very bad unwillingly). He can sense when Elias is trying to See into his head.
Ch 8
Jon Feeds off of Emma, and forces her to Know her victim’s pain. Everyone is unable to move or interrupt him. He forces the web of the Mother of Puppets to be Shown. He remembers (where the tunnels are and what they do).
Ch 9
One day after Feeding off of Emma
Jon grows bigger. Jon Knows the (true nature of the Entities, and their effects on the world) and tries to articulate them. His explanation is different than Gertrude’s. He remembers (Tim’s jokes, Martin’s love of fuzzy tarantulas, the fight with Peter, and Michael-as-the-Distortion’s Statement, being friends with his Assistants and that things went wrong when his Assistants were no longer his friends). He thinks, but is not sure, he remembers who the man in the tunnels is (Lietner) and that he can track him down. He can See everyone’s marks and make them visible to others. When attempting to consciously access Knowledge of Michael’s future, he faints and blood comes out of his nose.
Jon consumes a Story. Jon remembers (how to Quit). Jon fights with the Eye’s geas against speaking of escape and wins.
Jon remembers (the Eyepocalypse) and Knows why he can survive on only old stories and statements from Avatars. Reaching for this knowledge is even more difficult than just Michael’s future, and causes him to black out for a significant amount of time with a severe memory wipe. Despite this memory wipe, he remembers (Gertrude does not treat her Assistants well, and the location of Fiona & Joshua Gillespie’s statement).
Ch 10
Jon Knows how to get to the Coffin purely thanks to the Eye, and realizes the Knowledge is external because his sense of direction was previously so poor. He is now able to consciously communicate directly in a back and forth conversation with the Eye, although the Eye is currently only Answering Jon’s Questions and Jon is giving his opinion. Being near the Coffin causes Jon to remember (he was in the Coffin for 3 days).
Being in the Coffin causes Jon to remember (that he got stuck with someone else last time, that he had an anchor, and that it might be M-m-mar- ), then he gets out in a day and a half. This is half the time of the first round, despite Fiona being deeper in than Daisy had been.
Jon Feeds off of John the Buried Avatar.
Ch 11
Day 1 post-Coffin & Feeding off of John
Jon feeds off of Dr. Girard the pediatrician.
Jon still comprehends all languages, but now he can articulate something is strange despite still not realizing he’s not hearing English. Jon grows after feeding. Jon Knows when Fiona is in trouble. His eyesight is noticeably excellent. Jon remembers (Gertrude’s war against the rituals is “stupid”, and that Jonah stole Elias’s body and why. He remembers statements about Agnes, and how Agnes and Gertrude are bound, and what various members of the Cult of the Lightless Flame look like. He also remembers going out for Martin’s birthday and eating ice cream, which is how he knows where the nearest ice cream parlor is.)
This is the last time Jon takes out the crayon drawing of the Eye.
Ch 12
Day 2 post-Coffin & Feeding off of John, Day 1 post Feeding off of Dr. Girard
Jon remembers (you should never hold an Avatar of the Desolation barehanded, and that the tunnels go for miles and miles, and that Smirke realized his architectural theories were wrong.)
Jon Knows he loves tea but hasn’t found one that tastes right. (He’s thinking of Martin’s tea, but he doesn’t realize it.) It’s also revealed that Jon is crying alone sometimes in his room when he thinks no one will notice, but he doesn’t Remember why. When asked, he remembers (he was Made and not Born), and Knows that the Eyepocalypse/”his destiny” is preventable, but he had to lay down before remembering/realizing any further.
He remembered the (statement about Agnes’s childhood, and the Distortion’s Avatars, despite the fact the Distortion would not merge like that until post-ritual, and that Gertrude liked to blow things up/use fire to disrupt rituals.)
The Eye now is giving Jon specific suggestions, ie origami frogs, when he Asked for ideas.
Ch 13
Day 3 post-Coffin & Feeding off of John, Day 2 post Feeding off of Dr. Girard
When asked, he knows there’s no such thing as time where the Eye is, but vomits from trying to Know something directly about where the Fears currently are. Jon remains nauseous but does not faint, have blood loss, or memory loss. Then, when a Story is read to him from Van Closen, he remembers (the contents of a different statement entirely- Fanshaw’s letter.) He struggles to grasp something else the Eye is telling him.
Ch 14
Day 4 post-Coffin & Feeding off of John, Day 3 post Feeding off of Dr. Girard.
Jon remembers (being a manager.) Elias and Fiona do not realize Jon is using terms no one has used around him before- nor do they recognize like Michael did earlier that Jon’s specific grasp of corporate language is far outside the normal range of what children usually have picked up.
Fiona, newly awakened, uses her powers on Jon. He then, when in close proximity to her, is reminded of what information he hadn’t been able to grasp earlier (ie, Eric and Gerry).
Jon enters a battlefield surrounded by Entity-touched deathtraps being sprung. He remembers (wandering untouched in the Eyepocalypse, Mary binding herself to the book.)
Ch 15
Day 4 post-Coffin & Feeding off of John, Day 3 post Feeding off of Dr. Girard.
Jon (remembers “interrupting drinks” and that they always taste better when in a mug- ie, Martin’s tea. He remembers the Dark was “for babies”.)
When awoken, he is able to articulate that he did remember Gerry and Eric.
Jon summons Eric. The Archive speaks. Jon Knows how to edit the Book as Mary Keay did in the original timeline, and does so.

To Be Human (Fanfiction) Part 3/?
Gah, this chapter ended up being really long for some reason, again. Anyways, thank you for your suggestions! I definitely will try to incorporate them into future storylines (perhaps the "demons getting arrested" one pretty soon ... y'know, since Mammon exists.)
Real quick, here are some things to know about all the chapters from here on out:
Every chapter will begin with a Lucifer-Michael flashback, because he will be a really important character later on, and it's good to have a bit of background on him and how he used to be.
Not every chapter will be from Lucifer's perspective. The first three chapters were from his point of view because I thought his was rather neutral (for the most part) and therefore good for setting up all of these scenes. Anyways, yes, all the brothers will definitely get their time to shine in all of the various plotlines in this story.
As per the usual, here is the link for the chapter on AO3.
Title:
To Be Human
Summary:
When a mysterious force attacks the Devildom and destroys it, the brothers are forced to turn to their Father in the Celestial Realm for answers and assistance. However, the Almighty is still miffed at the seven due to their involvement in the Great Celestial War, and sends them to seek asylum in the one place they have yet to make their mark—the Human World.
Without the help of their beloved MC, the brothers must learn to assimilate into this strange new world, all while trying to figure out who is responsible for the destruction of the Devildom and take back their home.

Read Chapter 2 here!
-
“Oh, Lucifer!” Michael’s voice reverberated through the House of Great Elation’s kitchen.
Lucifer, who had just been burrowing through the ill-stocked cabinets for something to eat, called back, “What now?”
“Look what I’ve got!” Michael exclaimed.  He pranced into the kitchen, holding a blond, baby angel over his head.
Lucifer raised an eyebrow.  Typically, when Father created His angels, they were fully grown, so that as soon as they were birthed, they could immediately begin their duties.  However, sometimes, when He was feeling spontaneous, the Almighty created angels that were mere infants, granting them the greatest gift of all time—the ability to grow up and have a childhood.
Of course, as angels were infinitely busy creatures, there usually was no one available to parent them, and the baby angels oftentimes were brought up collectively by the entire Celestial Realm—that is, unless a specific angel volunteered to rear them.
With that, a terrible thought dawned on Lucifer as he watched Michael rifle through the kitchen drawers with the child clinging on his back.
“Michael,” Lucifer began carefully, “why do you have that?”
“He’s cute, right?  A regular cherub!” sung Michael cheerfully, and it was not lost on Lucifer that he had avoided the question.  “Father gave him the name of Luke!”
Lucifer ran a hand down his face.  “Please, don’t tell me you’ve adopted him or something.”
“Then I won’t tell you anything.” Michael beamed.  He wrangled the baby Luke off of his back after procuring a frosted manna cake from the drawer and handing it to him.
Luke cooed, an enormous, toothless grin growing on his face as he sucked the icing off of the cake.  He pat Michael’s shoulder playfully as if to show his appreciation.
Lucifer watched, unamused at the interaction.  “Michael.”  The other angel ignored him, utterly absorbed in the baby’s itty bitty socks to pay any attention to his housemate.  “Michael, look at me.  I understand that this infant is cute, but you’re an Archangel—not to mention the General of the Heavenly Legions.  You’re at the barracks or down in the Human World, all day; there’s no way you can take care of a baby.”
Michael stared at Lucifer, his golden eyes widening for maximum cuteness.  “C’mon now, Luci, don’t be such a sourpuss.  Here, you hold him.  Once you see how cute and adorable and perfect he is, you’ll definitely want to keep him, too.”
Lucifer shook his head adamantly at the offer, but Michael wouldn’t take no for an answer and shoved Luke into his arms, anyway.
He raised an eyebrow at the baby, who just a minute before, had been nursing Michael’s thumb and his cake, giggling happily.  Now, cradled in Lucifer’s arms, the child was silent and stared at him, appearing to size up the older angel.  A moment later, he closed his eyes with a pretentious air, stuck his teeny tiny nose in the air, and magnanimously offered Lucifer his now-soggy manna cake.
“Thank you,” Lucifer replied stiffly, “but I’ll pass.”  He sighed when the baby hmphed and went back to sucking on his treat.  It appeared that the child wasn’t too fussy, and it especially seemed to get along with Michael.  Nevertheless, could the laid-back Angel of Destruction really be trusted to take care of something so tiny and helpless?  He did have a penchant for accidentally destroying things …
Michael, who had seen the dubious stare on Lucifer’s face, reasoned, “Don’t look at me like that, Luci.  I’ll bring him to the barracks with me every day, and Simeon even volunteered to watch him on days I have to go down to the Human World!  You won’t even have to see him!”
“The fact that I have to see him isn’t the issue,” Lucifer assured.  He rubbed his chin thoughtfully.  Simeon was an infinitely more responsible angel, and knowing that he was looking after Luke, too, was reassuring.  He groaned.  “Fine … I guess you can keep him here in the House of Great Elation.”
The Angel of Destruction clapped his hands gleefully.  “Yes!  You won’t regret it, I prom—”
However, his celebration was cut short, when Luke, who had realized that he had licked off all the sugary frosting on his manna cake and was left with a sodden biscuit, began wailing.
Lucifer could only raise an eyebrow as Michael sheepishly whisked the baby away from him, and put a finger over his lips to hush him.
“Shh!  Shh!”  The angel noticed the offending manna cake in Luke’s hand and his eyes lit up.  “Oh, so you like sweets, do you?”  He perched the baby over his shoulder and began to walk out the door.  “Well, here, I’ll take you to Simeon’s—he makes this amazing dessert called ‘Simeon Rolls.”  They’re like spirals of baked dough with, like, an absolutely divine cinnamon filling and they’re covered in this icing stuff that you seem to like so much!  We kind of lost the recipe to humans—they’re dumb and took his name out of the title and call them “Cinnamon Rolls,” but the original Celestial Realm recipe is …”  His voice trailed off as the door shut behind him.
Lucifer shook his head and smiled, turning back to pilfer once again through the cabinets for a snack.  Perhaps it was good that Luke had found Michael.
After all, this child seemed to be one of the first angels who weren’t absolutely petrified of the Angel of Destruction.
-
“God is dead,” Asmodeus glowered, “because I’m going to kill Him.”
Satan cleared his throat.  “In that case, God will be dead, since you haven’t killed Him yet.”  He stared at the structure before them and frowned.  “But let me know when you do, because I want in on that action, too.”
“A hovel!” Mammon wailed. “He wants us to live in a hovel!”
Lucifer shook his head at his brothers’ tendency to overdramatize things.  However, as he turned his head to the house that their Father had chosen for them, he decided that for once, maybe, their theatrics were warranted.
The edifice that stood before them was paltry, compact—almost shoebox-like—with no decorative (or even functional) exterior furnishings that could draw anyone’s attention.  It was if the house, too, was ashamed of its meagerness, and had tucked itself away to be as inconspicuous as possible.  Lucifer would have been less surprised had this building been a stable for his Father’s Royal Steeds, rather than a home for seven adult males.
“You’re sure that this is the place?” Lucifer raised an eyebrow at Simeon, who had been relieved of his duties for a spell to deliver the brothers to their new home in the Human World.
Simeon nodded sheepishly.  “Yes, this is it.”  He read the address from the paper of information that Father had given him, before slipping it into his pocket.  “35 West Orville Court, Cedar Bridge, Wisconsin.”
Leviathan scratched his head.  “Please tell me that we’re somewhere in Japan.  It’d be so cool to actually live in the country that some of my favorite anime and manga took place.”
“Unfortunately, no, Levi,” Simeon apologized.  “We’re actually in the United States of America.”
Lucifer sighed.  “It doesn’t matter where we are.  What matters right now is that there’s no way that all seven of us can share that small of a house.”  The other demons chorused their agreement.
While he most certainly loved his brothers, he shuddered at the prospect of living in such close quarters with them.  Back in the massive House of Lamentation, everyone was usually off doing their own thing; the only time they convened as a family was to eat meals.  If this house was really as small as it appeared on the outside, then he would have to see his brothers with sickening regularity (perhaps “sickening” was a strong word, but …).
“I’m hungry,” Beel muttered.  “Is there any food inside?”
Simeon looked thoughtful.  “I’m not sure, but since we’re going to have to go inside anyway, let’s go check.”
“I can’t wait to see if the inside matches the outside in sheer stupidity,” said Belphie, rolling his eyes as the group followed Simeon to the dull gray front door of the house.
The seven demons and angel huddled at the entrance, where Simeon fiddled with his pocket until he procured a single key.  He handed it to Lucifer.  “You’re the oldest.  You do the honors.”
Lucifer blanched.  Only one key?  The first order of business was definitely going to a locksmith to get copies made.  Shaking his head, he took the key, inserted it into the lock, and turned, revealing unto them the inside of the house that their Father had “graciously” granted them.
As soon as he saw the interior, his eye twitched, and he had nothing to say but, “Who would like to go back to the Celestial Realm and kill a god for me?”
Ignoring the chorus of “me’s,” that came from the group, Simeon shook his head and spread his hand over the entrance.  “Don’t condemn it before you’ve set a foot inside!  Here, let’s take a tour.  And try not to judge the décor too harshly—some of the Junior Guardian Angels were in charge of the design and they were on a budget.”
“No kiddin.’” Mammon grumbled as Simeon led them across the threshold.  “This place is the pits.”
Lucifer had to agree.  The interior of the house from where he could see was sparsely furnished and the yellowish-white of the amenities gave everything a dingy air.
No sooner had they all stepped into the orange-carpeted entryway—which was so small that it could hardly fit the eight of them—Simeon took a sharp right.
“Since you mentioned you were hungry, Beel, this is the kitchen.”  Simeon gestured around the tiny room.
Lucifer raised an eyebrow.  This was it?  There was barely enough room for two people to stand comfortably, and there were hardly any appliances: simply a stove and a refrigerator, which Beel immediately rushed to.
“This is the smallest fridge I’ve ever met,” Beel sighed.  His frown grew even deeper as he pulled the door open, revealing it to be completely empty.  He looked down at his growling stomach, a fire raging in his eyes.  “Father will pay.”
“Oh dear, I figured that’d be the case.  It looks like you seven are going to have to do your first round of human grocery shopping soon,” mused Simeon, looking at the unfilled fridge.  “But more on that later.  In the meantime,” he pulled out from his pocket another manna cake for Beel, “here you go.”
Beel stared at the angel dreamily as he took the cake.  “Do you always keep those on you?”
Simeon merely laughed as he walked deeper into the kitchen, which opened up to a dining room of sorts.  Lucifer assumed that the room had been built for a smaller table rather than the massive one that could seat the seven of them which resided in it now.  He wrinkled his nose at the water-stained wood that they were to dine on and the understuffed yellow cushions that adorned the dining chairs.
After several scathing remarks on the abysmal state of the décor from Asmo, Simeon led the group past the petite dining room into the living area.
“At least there’s a computer.”  Levi pointed to a laptop that sat on a comically enormous desk and shook his head sadly.  “Although I don’t think it’s the kind you can game on.”
Next to the desk were two mismatching sofas that looked as if they’d been plucked out of the Victorian era, and across from them was a dark brown TV stand with an old, boxy TV.
“What year do those Junior Guardians think it is?” Satan demanded, poking the television suspiciously.  “Half of this stuff belongs in a different century!”
“Like I said,” Simeon replied sheepishly.  “They were on a budget.  Come on, now, let’s go see the rest of the house.”
“I don’t know if I wanna,” muttered Mammon.  “‘Cause if it’s anythin’ like what we just saw, it’s gonna be C-R-A-P—crap.”
Lucifer silently agreed with the secondborn as Simeon now took them down a hall attached to the living room.  On the right side of the hallway was a single door, which Simeon explained to them was a closet.  To the left were two more doors, one of which was a paltry laundry room (it simply consisted of a washing machine and a dryer stacked atop each other) and the other, a bathroom.
Asmodeus screamed when he saw the smallness of it, and there was a collective tantrum when Simeon said that it was the only bathroom in the house and that they would all have to share it.
The biggest offender of the house was the room that haunted the end of the hall—the bedroom.
 Singular.
“How nice of the Junior Guardians to line up seven twin beds for all of us,” Belphie deadpanned.
Lucifer blanched.  From the outside, he had known that the house was small, but not so small that all seven brothers would have to share a room.
He’d always accredited the seminormal peace in the House of Lamentation to the fact that each brother had had their own space, whether it be to cool off from an argument in, or just relax and take some time for themself.  In this house, there was no such space, and he could already envision the cesspool of conflict that their home would become.
“I’d rather live in the burning Tartarus that is the Devildom than here,” Satan decided.
Lucifer nodded.  “I know that we’re supposed to be demons, but Father is the real demon for expecting us to live in this shed.”
“I say,” said Mammon, “that we go back to the Devildom, anyway, and see if the House of Lamentation is still standin.’”
Simeon shook his head.  “Going back to the Devildom is impossible right now.  Because of this whole mess, Father’s shut down the border indefinitely.”
“Well, tell Him that we’re not staying here,” growled Asmodeus.  “We’re just going to have to get a bigger house.”
Again, Simeon shook his head.  “Don’t you see?  Father chose this place on purpose.”
“And what kind of purpose would that be?” snapped Belphie.  “To torture us?”
Simeon let out a body-shaking groan.  “Everyone, please sit down.”  He walked over to the dining table, and the brothers followed him begrudgingly.  “Take a seat.”
“These chairs aren’t too comfy,” Beel noticed, shifting back and forth in his seat.
“No kiddin,’” agreed Mammon.  “My poor rear end!”
Leviathan rolled his eyes.  “You guys are weak!  I’ve sat in gaming chairs far less comfortable than this for hours! ”
“Why is he proud of this?” whispered Satan to Asmo.
Before Levi could snark a reply,  Lucifer hushed them by clearing his throat.  “If I recall, Simeon had something important to tell us.”  He gestured toward the angel, who nodded and pulled out the letter he had earlier from his pocket, as well as an envelope.
“So first and foremost, I need you seven to fill out these forms.”  From the envelope, Simeon procured seven folded sheets of paper and handed them, as well as a pen to Lucifer.  “It’s just some information about your human persona.  From that, the Celestial Realm will have bank accounts and credit cards opened in your name, as well as ID cards made.  There’s only one pen—sorry—so, Lucifer, why don’t you just fill everything out?  We’ll start with that.”
“Okay,” said Lucifer, pulling out a form.  The first line asked for his “full legal name.”  As he was about to pen down, “Lucifer,” Simeon stopped him.
“Lucifer isn’t a common name in the Human World,” Simeon said.  “Perhaps just write ‘Lucius.’  That name is also not incredibly common, but at least it won’t get you as many strange looks.  And maybe as your surname put … eh—I’m not sure, actually.  You all need to have the same last name, so I suggest doing that last.”
Lucifer nodded and wrote what the angel suggested down.  The next few questions were simple—his height, his weight, allergies, blood type, medical conditions, and the like.  He filled out the form with ease and handed it to Simeon.  “Now for yours, Mammon.”
The secondborn demon nodded.  “I want my name to be written down as ‘The Great Mammon.’”
After a round of groans from the demons, Simeon laughed and said, “Again, that’s not a human name—or at least, not an American one.”  Simeon rubbed his chin thoughtfully.  “What about ‘Marvin?’  It kind of sounds like ‘Mammon.’”
Mammon groaned.  “Ugh, that’s gotta be one of the lamest names, ever.  Why do I gotta have a name that sounds like ‘Mammon,’ anyways?”
Lucifer could see the logic behind the name, and answered, “That way, if we ever have to go out in public, it’ll be easier for us to remember what our ‘human name’ is if it sounds like our demon one.”
“Not that it matters for Mammon, ‘cause who’d want to go out in public with him, anyway?” snickered Asmo.
Mammon, whose face had turned a beet red, shook his fist at his brother and reached over the table toward him.  “Wait ‘till I get my hands on you, Asmo, I’m gonn— ”
“—And now it’s Levi’s turn!” announced Simeon cheerfully.  “I suggest just keeping his name as ‘Levi,’ as that’s not too uncommon in this realm.”
Leviathan’s bottom lip trembled.  “You—you mean I can’t have a cool Japanese name like, like, Sasuke or—or—Ichigo?”
Lucifer stifled a smile as Simeon put his hand on Levi’s shoulder and said, “There, there.  Think about it, Levi; ‘Sasuke’ and ‘Ichigo’ don’t sound much like your real name, do they?  Why not make it easier on your brothers to remember and just keep your name as is?”
Leviathan consented by putting his hands over his face, muttering, “Why did I have to be named ‘Levi?’”
Lucifer pat his shoulder consolingly before flipping to the next sheet.  “Okay, Satan, your turn.”
The fourthborn demon crossed his arms and simply answered, “I’m keeping my name as ‘Satan.’  I’m not ashamed of it and don’t think it's necessary to assume an identity that I don’t have.”
Simeon smiled tolerantly.  “‘Nathan,’ it is.”
Satan’s face turned an unholy shade of red as he opened his mouth to berate the angel, but Lucifer cut in smoothly, “‘Nathan’ is good—sounds like ‘Satan.’  Next is Asmo.”
“I—I’m not goi—I refuse—no … ‘Nathan?!’” was all Satan could screech before Asmo chirped, “I’d like to be called ‘Adonis.’”  When the group simply stared at him, he gestured toward Levi, rolling his eyes.  “Oh, like ‘Sasuke’ was any better.  At least mine makes sense!”  He flipped his hair.  “I am the handsome Adonis of this group, after all.”
Satan, who had yet to recover from being given his new human name, darkly muttered, “Hopefully you get gutted by a wild boar like your namesake, as well.”
Ignoring Satan’s spiel, Simeon and Lucifer shared a look, before the eldest demon shrugged and wrote Asmo’s name of choice down.
Simeon turned toward Beelzebub and Belphegor.  “I’m sorry.  At the moment I can’t think of any human names that are similar to yours.”  He pointed behind them to the computer table.  “Perhaps you’d like to look some names up?  The internet is already connected—simply click the red-green-yellow circle icon and a screen with a search bar should pop up.”
As the two meandered off to find suitable names for themselves, Simeon took the other forms that Lucifer had already filled out and reviewed them.  He nodded before handing them all back to him  “These look good, but Lucifer, you need to change all these allergies—more than half of the foods and plants listed here are all from the Devildom.  And regurgitated by a giant sea monster pet and experiences minor movement issues’ has to go.  Getting eaten by a Kraken isn’t something most humans would live through, much less survive long enough to experience medical issues from.”
"It's a real issue!" Leviathan pouted.  "It's the only reason I'm bad at sports, I swear!"
Lucifer nodded, ignoring his brother.  He’d filled out dozens of forms for his brothers back in the Devildom, and he had just written in the information on these sheets as he had then.  He hadn’t stopped to think that not only would the names have to be adjusted to fit human standards, but the actual data, as well.
As he took the papers back from Simeon, the angel raised an eyebrow and added, “And I’d change your and everyone else’s birthdays, as well.  While June sixth is a fine date of birth, the year ‘when the universe was first spoken into being’ isn’t … entirely possible for a human.”
“Then what year are we s'posed to put, then?” Mammon asked, holding up his hands in confusion.  “Besides Satan, we were all born around that time.”
Simeon hummed thoughtfully.  “Subtract thirty years from the current year and then choose from that range a birthyear that symbolizes which order you were ‘born’ in.”
“I see.”  Lucifer kind of wanted to ask the angel how exactly old he thought he looked when he chose the number thirty but decided to not put him on the spot, considering how helpful he was being.  He corrected the last of the completed documents and turned to Beel and Belphie, who were still huddled over the laptop screen.  “If you two aren’t done yet, I’m coming over there.”
“It’s okay, I’ve made my decision,” Beel said.  He turned to his brothers and announced, “My human name should be ‘Oreo.’”
A buzz of agreement went up from the seven demons, but Simeon stared at the group with a confused air.  “‘Oreo?’  I’m not sure that’s a human name.  In fact, I believe it’s a brand of cookie, as well as a common name for pets.”
Beel shook his head.  “It can’t be.  I typed in ‘good names’ in the search bar and that’s one of the names that showed up.”
“And it looks like the computer auto-populated your search with ‘good names for dogs, ’” Levi, who had meandered over to the twins, read off of the computer.
“Aw, Beel, you’re just a great big puppy dog, aren’t ya?” Mammon laughed.
Beel looked down and muttered, “I didn’t know it was a dog name.”  He turned back to the screen to do another search and read one of the first names that popped up.  “How about … ‘Eli?’”
Asmo nodded.  “It has the same long e sound as ‘Beelzebub.’”
“‘Eli’ it is, then,” Lucifer decided, writing down the name.  He looked up at the seventhborn demon.  “And you, Belphie?”
“I don’t want any stupid human name,” Belphie said defiantly, staring at his eldest brother in challenge.
Lucifer put his palm to his face.  Why did he always intend to be so difficult?  “If you don’t choose a name, Belphegor, I’ll choose for you.”  When Belphie didn’t respond, Lucifer turned to Simeon.  “What’s the worst human name you can think of?”
“Any normal name spelled with ‘e-i-g-h,’” Simeon answered immediately.
Lucifer nodded.  “That sounds terrible.”  He penned it down as Belphegor’s first name and turned to the rest of the group.  “It’s time to choose a surname.”
“How about LuciferNeedsToDie?” suggested Belphie, who glowered at the firstborn.
Satan grinned deviously.  “I second that.”
“I’ll agree to it only if we change it to LuciferIsAnEvilLord,” said Levi.
Lucifer shot his brothers a look.  “If you continue to talk like that, I’ll show you just how much of an ‘evil lord’ I can really be.”
“I have a suggestion,” Beel announced, still scrolling through the computer.  “Maybe a good last name would be ‘Daemon.’  It means ‘demon’ in Latin.”
Lucifer tested the word on his tongue.  “‘Daemon.’  I like it.”
“A little obvious,” admitted Simeon, “but it’s not the worst.”  He took the last of the forms Lucifer handed him and the brothers watched in interest as he pulled out a few more items from the envelope.  “A few last things before I go.”  He handed Lucifer a shiny black card, pointedly ignoring the dreamy look Mammon gave it.  “This is my personal debit card for when I’m in the Human World.  It’s currently loaded with five hundred dollars for you seven to buy groceries for yourselves.”
“Five hundred?” Mammon exclaimed, his tan face paling.  “That’s not gonna buy as anythin!’”
Asmodeus’ brow furrowed in worry.  “For once, I agree with the scumbag.  We’d be lucky to get even a cheap bottle of hand lotion.”
Lucifer shook his head.  His Father had said that He’d send them “provisions,” but he supposed that he should’ve known that Father wouldn’t be much help.  He felt the pit of anger in his stomach grow; how incredibly typical of the Almighty.  How in the world were the brothers supposed to make ends meet with this meager an amount of money?
“Please don’t spend my money on hand lotion, Asmo,” Simeon pleaded.  “It’s for food only, right now.  And don’t worry, lambs, the only reason why it appears I’ve given so little is that U.S dollars are worth a lot more than Grimm.  One dollar is equivalent to twenty thousand Grimm.”
“So … essentially you’ve given us ten million Grimm?” Satan asked, his eyes widening.  “Simply for groceries?”
“Are you crazy?” Belphegor demanded.  “That’s not going to feed Beel for very long.”
Beel nodded in agreement.  “It’s true.”
“See, we in the Celestial Realm knew that your group of seven would have quite a few expenses, which is why Father chose for you such a small house.  He’s already paid for it so all you need to pay is property taxes and utilities, both of which will be quite low in a house this small in suburban Wisconsin.  That way, once you begin to start working and making money, as little of your income as possible will go toward the house.”  Simeon pushed the debit card closer toward Lucifer, who pocketed it before Mammon could snatch it.  “Father trusted you seven enough that you’d be able to find your way in this world, so the five hundred dollars is simply a gift from me.”’
Lucifer raised an eyebrow.  Could it really be that their Father had had their best interests at heart in assigning them this hovel?
The brothers sat in silence for a moment at Simeon’s words, before Asmo wondered, “Okay, I get the whole I-made-My-sons-live-in-an-actual-shack part, but if Father’s so amazing and wonderful, why doesn’t He make us live in an actually nice house, considering He’s supposed to be the ‘King of Kings’ and can do whatever He wants?”
“And how come he’s not actually supportin’ us?  Financially, I mean,” added Mammon.
Simeon laughed.  “Would you have accepted His help if He had?”
“Absolutely not.”  There wasn’t a note of hesitation in Lucifer’s voice.  His animosity toward his Father had subsided somewhat during this whole debacle but he would never forget the Almighty’s unfeeling and dead eyes as He hurled him and his siblings out of the Celestial Realm.
“I expected as much,” said Simeon, nodding.  “Anyways, here, taking Beel into account, I’ve composed a list of cheap but healthy grocery items to buy when you go shopping.  Some of the ingredients are already ones you’ve used in the Devildom, but there are some delicious new ones for you to try, as well.  Additionally, later in the week, I’ll come by and drop off an estimate of all the bills you’ll have to pay, as well as the credit and ID cards I promised earlier.”
“Simeon, how is it that you’re so knowledgeable of things in the Human World?” asked Satan.  “I thought all you did nowadays was guard the gates.”
Simeon smiled sadly.  “Back when I was an Archangel, I’d come down here, posing as a human, to direct and advise my little lambs.”  He gestured toward the debit card, which stuck out of Lucifer’s pocket.  “I’ve kept in touch with all the trends and changes going on in this world, should … Father ever reinstate unto me my former position.”
Out of respect for Simeon, the group bowed their heads and maintained silence for several moments, before Lucifer spoke up.  “Regardless of your status, thank you for helping us through this change, Simeon.  We’re all very grateful.” He turned toward his brothers with a stern look.  “Aren’t we?”
“Oh, yeah, totally,” Mammon began, and the other five chorused their agreement.
“You’re very welcome.” The angel beamed.  He handed Lucifer the prospective grocery list, as well as another sheet of paper.  “This is simply a record of some potential jobs for the seven of you to take up, as well as some phone numbers to call.”
Simeon began to walk out the door, leaving the brothers to their own devices, but before he could shut the door behind him, Belphegor called out, “Wait—how are we gonna call those numbers?  I’m gonna assume our D.D.Ds don’t pick up any human cell service and besides, they’re all dead, and we didn’t get a chance to pack their chargers.”
The angel’s smile was strangely cryptic as he replied, “Ah, I almost forgot to mention.  Your mobile phones will be coming later in the week.  For now, use the landline that’s on the desk.  As for cell service—and internet also—it’s being provided and paid for by the Celestial Realm’s own private company.”  Without another word, he shut the door behind him.
“Huh,” Mammon said.  “The Celestial Realm goin’ capitalist.  Never thought I’d see the day.”
Satan rubbed his chin.  “It’s pretty nice that they’ve decided to give us all that free of charge.”  He paused for effect.  “Almost too nice.”
“Guys,” Levi began, biting his nails nervously, “did anyone consider the fact that because the Celestial Realm’s gonna be providing us with their own internet and cell service that they might be able to spy on us?”
Lucifer’s eyes widened at the realization.
That … was a terrifyingly real possibility.
He groaned.  Just when he thought his Father had relinquished some of His control-freak tendencies.

Realized people might be a little confused about Henry and how the universe within his canon is since so many characters are still alive and kicking so have a little run-down infodumpy type thing. Big spoilers for T/M/A so be warned.
Martin and Henry (Stanley at the time) were childhood friends but they don’t remember it as it wasn’t a particularly close friendship. It was mostly just to say that they had a friend (probably read books and shared ice lollies on the playground or some shit I dunno). Henry’s family winds up moving back to Ireland and they part without exchanging any form of contact.
Back in Ireland, Henry goes full swing into the Entity bs as their home is Haunted. Gets marked by every fear under the sun- The Dark as their village has no light pollution and at times can be pitch black. The Buried as Henry spends many days huddled in the corner of the attic with only a candle to light the space, wax dripping onto an esoteric text he smuggled away from his mum. The Lonely as he has no friends or close relatives. The Spiral as he begins doing sigil work in hopes of finding more answers. The Beholding as his curiosity for the Entities grows. The Stranger as no one has truly ever known him or understood him.
By his late teens, they move to London and he begins working on getting a degree. Fails in this regard since he studies any subject he thinks might lead him to answers. Finds out about the Institute and works on finding a way to get inside. Runs into Martin and vaguely recalls him. Forms a plan to use him to get into the Institute (and winds up soft for the man. He pities him, really. Guess they were closer friends than he really thought).
Big spoilery things happen and Henry becomes acquainted with Mike and Michael. Winds up becoming an avatar of The Stranger when he embraces his uncanny knack for infiltrating groups with ease. Gets closer to Mike (as James).
Michael doesn’t get obliterated; I have an idea that Helen just begins occupying the Corridors as well and it warps them to the point he becomes lost again. They’re basically weird and funky housemates and they love driving Jon up the wall with their antics.
Tim is just vibing. He was out of the way of the blast zone. He and Sasha and Mike go out for brunch on weekends.
Gerry did still die, but he became an avatar of The Beholding and the bane of the Institute’s existence. Henry (Jake upon meeting him) thinks he class. They get along like flames on parchment.
Henry uses his Cool Plastic Stranger Powers and just, absorbs the bullet so Mike doesn’t die.
They’re all basically bunking it out in the Corridors while the apocalypse happens. Martin stops in for tea, it’s lovely. Jon keeps asking to use it as a shelter for survivors but The Spiral Duo is like ‘we are not letting all of humanity in here, are you crazy?’
And that’s that on that. Love these funky little superpowered gays.

He puts his hand on the handle of the door. The door that has been a permanent fixture in the Archives since he had woken up.
He remembers Michael. The Distortion. A promise for a kind death. At least in comparison to the Stranger.
It didn’t feel like very long ago, and yet so much had happened. So much had changed. Would Michael be able to devour him now? Probably not.
Jon opened the door. Helen is there, her odd broken smile greeting him.
“It is polite to knock,” She pointed out.
He shuddered. Wondered if somehow she knew. She didn’t.
“Sorry,” He apologised. His senses buzzed. A twisting maze that couldn’t--shouldn’t be known laid out before his feet.
“Why are you here Archivist?” Helen asked.
“Jon.”
“Hm?”
“I don’t call you the Distortion, do I?”
“Names,” Helen shrugged. “Are they important to you still?”
“What if I called you Michael?”
Helen frowned. “I don’t think I’d like that. Very well, Jon. What can I do for you? You only visit when you’re sad.” She rolled her eyes at him. “Are you sad, Jon?”
“I’m tired,” He answered.
“Yes, you’re that an awful lot too.”
“Not--well, yes physically but… I’m tired of being everyone’s pawn. Elias, Annabelle Cane, Peter Lukas, even Martin--” He cut himself off. It hurt to say. Like a self inflicted wound. “I. I’m... hungry.”
Helen’s head twisted at an odd angle in curiosity. “Are you?”
“Yes. Very. Do you… want to go out to … dinner? Uh. As colleagues … I mean.” Jon stuttered. Maybe he should feel bad using such harmless metaphors for the pain they were about to inflict on living breathing people. He didn’t.
Helen’s smile could shatter glass, but that wasn’t unusual.
-
The need was easy to keep up with like this. It reminded him of his childhood. The endless books. The need for a brand new story that was nothing like the last. The Spiral was never the same thing twice. Helen hunted in new and mind dizzying ways. People wandered her corridors. Shattered from sleep deprivation. From unsolvable riddles. From shapes that shouldn’t exist and patterns that weren’t patterns. Colourful fractals, and madness.
It was beautiful. He could appreciate it now.
He didn’t lose his empathy. He felt the terror of every single person she lured through her threshold. Lived through it endlessly and he couldn’t get enough. Sometimes they would have other stories to share, still fresh to their maze. Helen liked hunting for Statement Givers. The ones that had already been marked. When she found Martin’s first victim she had been particularly pleased.
“Like home, Archivist.”
He wished he could be more surprised. That even Martin Blackwood could be twisted and corrupted. He just felt sad, recognizing his… friend in an unrecognizable story.
“Do you miss them Archivist?” Helen asked. She listened sometimes, especially when she was pleased with her catch of the day.
Jon watched the man run in the opposite direction. Running from the monsters.
“Yes,” He admitted. “They didn’t really like me much though. I… I don’t know. It never mattered before, being liked. I guess it was because I really did care about them, but they hated me, for what I did to them. So this is better. I’m freeing them. No more need to worry about the monster. He’s gone away. Proving everyone right. Never should have trusted him.”
“They never did trust you.” Helen pointed out.
“Oh. Right.”
“I trust you.” She offered.
“You’re the embodiment of lies.”
Her laughter hurt his ears.
“I trust you too.” He added.
She laughed louder.
-
They would go out. Do people things. Get ice cream by a pier somewhere in Canada. Helen would dance in Russia. Jon would get lost in a library in Iran. They would have chips in London. See a movie. They didn’t go to London too often anymore. They were looking for him after all. Elias Knew as soon as they left the corridors. The Archives were searching for him, everyone in their own way.
If it was because they wanted to see him he wondered if he’d go back, but really it was because of usefulness or fear. Emotions he didn’t want to deal with anymore. Couldn’t they just be pleased he was away and wouldn’t be enacting the ritual anytime soon--even when he burned with curiosity wondering about it. Wondering if he could…
He was dipping his feet in the ocean. Helen was beside him fishing with nothing but some string tied to a stick. She had caught eight fish already and thrown all of them back.
“Is there--” he stopped. Started again. “I was wondering if there’s anyone you missed.” Jon said making it a statement instead of a question.
Helen splashed her feet in the water.
“I never asked. I … probably should have.”
“No one that matters now, Jon.” She answered. “Not to who I am. In the archives… I liked Melanie. She was fun… until she wasn’t.”
Jon didn’t press, the question buzzing unpleasantly on his tongue.
Helen smiled, knowing what he wondered. “When you fixed her leg, she started … putting her mind in order. Seeing me for what I am. I took it a lot better than you did. Helen never had time for people that didn’t accept her. Her father didn’t believe in Lesbians. She didn’t believe in her father. I have fonder feelings towards Melanie though, despite her feelings towards me… us.”
Helen stood. Stretched out letting the impromptu fishing pole fall to one side. “Shall we go home, Jon?”
When had a hellscape of endless nonsensical corridors become home he wondered. When it had become his shelter he supposed.
“Yes,” He stood, shaking the water off his feet. “Let’s go home.”
-
Sometimes he remembered just how old the Distortion was. Helen was it’s primary… personality? Host? A part of it… is it, but also not sometimes. It was probably best not to think about it too much. Sometimes she would talk about old victims during ancient times that she had never lived in. Sometimes she laughed with Michael’s laugh and spoke with Michael’s speech patterns, and called him Archivist.
She was interesting and there was always more to Know.
He wondered if she… the part of her that was the Distortion was as fascinated with him as he was of it. They were opposite ends of the spectrum. Knowing and Lies. Curiosity and deceit. But they fed each other. Jon trying to solve tangled puzzles. Helen trying to confound an all knowing mind. A healthy challenge. A comfortable balance.
It was October. There wasn’t much of 2018 left. He wondered if he’d make it.
-
“What are we, Jon?”
“What do you mean?”
“Our relationship status.”
Jon blinked. He went and looked over her shoulders. On his phone he had lost three months ago she was slowly updating her profile on Facebook. He could see the edges of her newest posts had fractals, cat memes, and something about it being wine o’clock.
“Ah… well… we’re friends.” He admitted.
Helen nodded. Dutifully added him. He had forgotten he even had a profile. Sasha maybe had set it up… or Tim? Such an unimportant thing… he wished he remembered. The picture of him looked strangely young although it was only taken four years ago. Less gray. A serious look, but not so tired. He wasn’t tired much anymore though. Now that he was… taking care of himself.
She set their relationship to “It’s complicated.”
Jon laughed.

Hello! (don't mind me reading through your blog and spamming my thoughts at you) To add to the Belphegor-marriage-interloper, he pats Dean on his left shoulder after his "I'm a fan" spiel-- the Cas shoulder. Dean's face at that point, I can't quite tell what's going on there. Thoughts?
heck, they could’ve been shooting for a reminder of WHY Dean had that scar in the first place, you know? AU Michael brought back the “gripped you tight and raised you from perdition” line in 14.10, too. So they’ve already connected that whole apocalypse arc back to that mark on Dean’s shoulder (and by association and subtextually, directly to his entire relationship with Cas, since he was the one who left that mark on Dean). In the same episode, they brought back Pamela, who also had a direct connection to that mark (she was touching it when she was blinded by looking at Cas’s true form, which was also brought up). So this is all tied, in Dean’s mind now, to the fact that Chuck had officially done ~all of this~ TO him, with intent, you know?
This is what Dean’s stuck on right now, why his entire sense of self has shattered over this revelation in ways that Sam seems resigned to because he’s ALWAYS felt this way due to his whole demon blood thing, and Cas seems to have accepted easily because he’s spent the last 11 years fighting against the inherent nature of Angels as Programmable Beings who didn’t really understand nor have free will in the first place so essentially just had his baseline assumptions about the universe for the last umpty-billion years confirmed. Dean has no idea if he can even trust in his own perceptions anymore, you know? What’s even real if Chuck basically arranged all of this, engineered his entire life to that degree?
Dean thought he’d understood what it meant to lose his free will when Michael took him over, which is also a trauma that’s still incredibly fresh for him, you know? It sort of feels like he’s reliving one of his personal low moments from s5, when he’d “resigned himself to his fate” to say yes to Michael to spare Sam from having to say yes to Lucifer. And Sam and Cas pulled him out of that.
But now that he knows (or THINKS he knows) the degree to which Chuck had manipulated his life, he’s not even sure his own fight AGAINST all those obstacles Chuck laid down was even real, or his own choice, or if it was just Chuck nudging him to make those choices…
To Dean, this is like waking up and being unsure whether he’s lived his entire life in the Matrix, you know? It’s like Total Recall– which “reality” is true, and which is the “program?” And for someone like Dean who’s spent his entire life grounded in “I know this is real because I directly experienced it,” this is identity-shattering stuff… I mean go all the way back to 2.13:
Sam: No, but she’s the second in town to murder because an angel told them to. Little bit odd, don’t ya think?Dean: Well, little odd yes, supernatural maybe. But angels? I don’t think so.Sam: Why not?Dean: ‘Cuz there’s no such thing, Sam.Sam: Dean, there’s ten times as much lore about angels as there is about anything else we’ve ever hunted.Dean: Yeah, you know what? There’s a ton of lore on unicorns too. In fact, I hear that they … they ride on silver moonbeams, and they shoot rainbows out of their ass.Sam: Wait, there’s no such thing as unicorns?Dean: That’s cute. I’m just saying, man, there’s just some legends that you just, you file under 'bullcrap’.Sam: And you’ve got angels on the bullcrap list.Dean: Yep.Sam: Why?Dean (looks up): Because I’ve never seen one.Sam: So what?Dean: So I believe in what I can see.Sam: Dean! You and I have seen things that most people couldn’t even dream about.Dean: Exactly. With our own eyes. That’s hard proof, okay? But in all this time I have never seen anything that looks like an angel. And don’t you think that if they existed that we would have crossed paths with them? Or at least know someone that crossed paths with them? No. This is a … a demon or a spirit. You know, they find people a few fries short of a Happy Meal, and they trick them into killing these randoms.
And by the end of that episode, Dean had witnessed a thing with his own eyes that shook him, because he had no explanation for it other than “maybe God’s will.” Even after they learned that an angel had pulled him out of Hell, he still resisted, wanted to find any other explanation, but every bit of evidence was eventually incorporated into that massive paradigm shift for him– angels are real. He had to accept it.
But now… what if Cas was just… another manipulation? What if all of this is still leading to that original ending Chuck tried to write for him? What if he’s really nothing more than a character in a story, and everything about him was engineered by someone else?
Hence while he tried to ground himself in his relationship with Sam, calling back to something from their childhood, something that had felt real to him before the universe conspired against them. And even after that, he’s not sure any of that was even real, you know? And then there’s that reminder of the Mark on his shoulder, where everything before and after seemed to spiral outward, from this “foretold by destiny since the start of the universe” nonsense he was able to fight through his whole life grounded in the certainty that at least his own experience, the evidence of his own eyes, was real somehow.
But… what if none of it has been real…
I mean, the physical mark of that handprint isn’t even there anymore in canon, right? So what about any of that had been real? Where’s the evidence? Can he just accept it all still? Or is he completely cut adrift as nothing more than a character in a story, and not even really real himself?

Happy New Year, everyone! 🎉
Thank you all for a truly amazing year for my writing! Thank you for all the kudos, for all the heartwarming comments, for all the loving words! Your love and support truly mean the world to me! Thank you all! ❤️
See you all next year with a whole lot more Destiel fanfiction! There's a new chapter of A Drop in the Ocean and a brand new Destiel AU coming soon! ;)
My Destiel fics:
The Only Exception (complete, 46.7k words)
Dean swallowed drily again, feeling his tongue heavy and weird inside his mouth, but he still managed to say, “Seriously, Cas, I... I need this. I really do. And you’re the only one who can do it. You’re the only one I trust to do this.” The hunter’s voice sounded far too hoarse, still lacking the confidence he wished to convey, and he licked his lips, looking down, focusing his gaze on a particular spot on the sheets. He fiddled with a loose thread he found there, feeling that difficulty to sit still for too long making itself known once more. He cleared his throat, and tried again, “And this is the easiest way, too. It just solves everything. You can check the damage Michael did. You can try to dig up some memories, to see if I can remember how I got this scar. And you can make sure that... that he’s really gone.” His voice did fail this time, throat feeling dry and tight, and he swallowed again to try and fix that, but it did very little to help.
The slightest hint of a feeble, empty smile tugged the corner of Dean's mouth upward, words coming out far too low and weak when he added, “Three birds, one stone, right?”
As if this really were that simple.
Set during 14x03, "The Scar".
A Drop in the Ocean (WIP, 673k words)
After a witch hunt gone terribly wrong, Dean calls Castiel in a desperate attempt to save Sam's life, but the angel's help comes with a very high price. With Cas' borrowed Grace burning out faster every day, the Mark of Cain being more active than ever and a bottle of whiskey to top it all, a confession from Castiel sends Dean's entire life spiraling out of control.
Set after 10x10, "The Hunter Games".
When It All Falls Down (AU, WIP, 80.9k words)
Dean Winchester is unhappy. Nothing in his life has turned out quite right up until now. It all started way back in his childhood, when his parents got divorced, and from then on nothing he's ever done has gone according to plan. He didn't go to college. He still has the same job he's had since he was 14 at his pseudo-stepfather's garage. He's not even thirty yet and he's already divorced with a son he only sees on the weekends, and now his ex-wife is getting married again.
Oh, and his apartment might be haunted.

Sirius Cobic → Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba, Mark Wahlberg and Chris Pine → Human Shifter
→ Basic Information
Age: 567
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Straight
Birthday: September 2nd
Zodiac Sign: Virgo
Religion: SBNR
→ His Personality Sirius is smart, elegant, successful and confident. He is an alpha male. He’s a leader that motivates and inspires his clan and his police force. When he walks into the room there’s an air that flows around him and makes people want to stop and stare. He loves displaying his wit, charm and knowledge. Sirius has a lot of charisma which usually swayes people away from the ill thought of him being a human shifter. Although, this person Sirius portrays at work and with his clan is not extended beyond just that. He is often very hostile towards other supernatural beings. Only just recently, has he changed their policy to help all creatures in Chicago instead of charging them an immense amount of money for protection and coverups.
Sirius enjoys his solitude. He needs time to contemplate his ideas without the intrusion of other people's thoughts. He is a person who lives by his own ideas and methods. He needs his space and privacy, which, when violated, can cause him great frustration and irritation. All this privacy and aloneness does cause him to feel isolated and lonely. Sirius is aware of an emptiness in his life, there is a part of him that yearns for company and close companionship that has been unsatisfied; not romantically but friendship wise. He sees those that are a part of his clan as his children and is unsure if he can cross the thin line of being their leader/fatherly inspiration and also consider them close companions/friends.
→ His Personal Facts
Occupation: Chief of Police
Scars: No
Tattoos: No
Two Likes: Alone Time and Food Critiquing
Two Dislikes: Being Ridiculed and Deodorant Stains
Two Fears: Poverty and Pink Laundry
Two Hobbies: Vintage Clothing Collecting and Antique Car Collecting
Three Positive Traits: Meticulous, Conservative, Reliable
Three Negative Traits: Judgemental, Harsh, Persistent
→ His Connections
Parent Names:
Kirill Atlas Bychkov (Father): Kirill was the genius that named Sirius, Shura Kutsel Bychkov. Prior to Kushim’s death, Kirill was a kind and loving husband as well as a good father, however, once Kushim died Kirill became hostile, distant and cold; possibly due to the immense grief he felt due to the loss of his oldest and favorite child. Sirius was still young and going forward all he remembers of his father is that Kirill was calculating, meticulous, aggressive, bad tempered and prideful. Kirill used fear to control people, particularly his wife and children, as a way to protect them. This led Sirius to be alienated from Kirill and to Sirius second guessing Kirill leadership position.
Zhanna Bychkov (Mother): Zhanna was never a loving or devoted mother. She never cared for any of them but feared Kirill enough not to hurt any of them. Unlike Kirill who was hard on them out of fear of losing them, Zhanna treated them like second class citizens behind closed doors. When Kirill was away on hunts or tribe business, she never defended them against danger and often left them to fend for themselves when it came to basic caregiving. She valued her marriage towards her husband more than her own children. She relished the fact that Kirill was the strongest human shifter leader around and only wanted to be on his arm instead of with their children.
Sibling Names:
Kushim Bychkov (Brother): Kushim and Sirius were best friends and got along well before his death. Kushim was killed by a young misguided human shifter from another tribe. Kushim's death tore their family apart and started a war that lasted well after Sirius had left home. The misguided child, younger than Sirius at the time, who was looking to appease his leader and to be accepted, was flayed then forced to eat himself. Kushim's death has always been a sore spot for Sirius.
Iry-Xook Bychkov (Brother): Iry-Xook is Sirius' younger brother. Sirius and Kushim had a hand in raising him before he married into another family and left their tribe. They keep in contact and Sirius has a few of his nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces in Chicago with him.
Alkebulan Zhinia Bychkov (Sister): Alkebulan was a tough kid but ran away after Kushim was killed. Sirius, Iry-Xook and Kirill spent years looking for her. They never found her and Sirius wonders if she walks among him.
Hinusian Aryi Bychkov (Sister): Aryi was a toddler when Sirius left home. Sirius adored her but Zhanna and Kirill treatment rubbed off on her more since she did not know of them before Kushim’s death.
Unknown (Unknown): Kirill and Zhanna had continued to have children after Sirius left. He has heard tales about his possible siblings but Sirius doesn’t care to get to know them unless they seek him out. In the past only two or three have reached out to him and the relationship has always been short lived.
Children Names:
None
Romantic Connections:
Nastasya Bychkov (Ex-Wife): Nastasya and Sirius were married young and under their family close supervision. Nastasya did not love him. Sirius tried his hardest to make her want him and failed every time. One night Sirius gave up and asked Nastasya to run away with the man she had been seeing. She took the opportunity without any hesitation, they were gone before morning. As a result, they were hunted down and killed by their tribe. Sirius knew this would happen and played the shocked hurting husband while hiding his relief. Sirius used this as another excuse to pull away from his misguided family and tribe.
Platonic Connections:
Vincent Kane (Close Friend): Vincent is one of Sirius’ closest friends and his right-hand man. While Vincent is nearly 260 plus years younger than Sirius, Vincent’s maturity and likeness to Sirius has solidified their bond. They have grown a part in the past few decades, Vincent is now closer to Robert, Churchill, and Patch, but Sirius still considers Vincent as one of his own; a protege.
Robert J. Fischer (Old Friend): Eloise and Michael Fischer were Sirius' closest friends and asked him to take Robert in if anything were to ever happen to them. Sirius then took Robert under his wings when Robert was destroyed by the tragic death of his parents. Robert was acting recklessly, needlessly spending money and spiraling out of control. Sirius pulled Robert out of his reckless depression and straightened him out. Robert has grown past what Sirius had expected for him.
Churchill Darling (Old Friend): Churchill has a lot of surprises up his sleeve and never ceases to amaze Sirius. Churchill has flourished as 2nd, erasing any doubt that Sirius once had about him taking on a larger role within their clan. Sirius does not have the same protectiveness towards Vincent and Churchill as he does others within their clan. This is only because Sirius trusts them to not only protect themselves but to protect and honor him as well.
Jev ‘Patch’ Cipriano (Protective): Sirius has known the Cipriano family for centuries. They are all happy and carefree people that Sirius is grateful to be associated with. Patch for one has a full life away from being a human shifter and his current job title. Sirius has always liked that about the younger man. Patch ability to make friends and communicate his feelings clearly to those around him is something Sirius wishes he could allow himself to do. His protectiveness of Patch has kicked into high gear as Patch integrates himself more with the other species of the immortal 3. Sirius does not fear for Patch, but he fears trouble Patch will get himself and possibly their clan into.
Montgomery ‘Monty’ Wilders (Protective): Sirius is protective of everyone he calls one of his own, especially those who come to him seeking asylum. Monty had clearly been hurt by his past leader and nearly lost faith in the human shifter society before Sirius got his hands on him. Sirius has not pressed Monty for information about his former pack but has someone keeping an eye on them, especially after Adelaide showed up. Roland, Monty's former pack leader has reached out about the Romeo and Juliet duo that Sirius seems to be harboring, and Sirius is now debating how to continue keeping them safe.
Greta Bow (Protective): Sirius saved Greta from being repeatedly harvested by hunters 48 years ago. He has been keeping an eye on her and trying to show his support in any way possible. Sirius has been slightly irritated with Greta since she has not told him about her dissociative identity disorder with one of her forms (Adria Arjona). Sirius is unsure if she thinks he would have her killed or if she just fears him too much to share her problems. Whatever progress he thought he was making with her has now gone out of the window.
Winston ‘Sticks’ Abioye (Protective): Sirius took Winston in and allowed another family to foster him after Winston's entire family was murdered. Sirius knows what it means to be without a family, whether it is by choice or not. Sirius has always wanted a large caring family and therefore sees the people he leads as his family. Winston does have his difficulties but that has never come between their professional or personal relationship. Sirius has been doing his best to shut down rumors that Winston is dirty, even going as far as reassigning the detectives that were spreading false information.
Arthur ‘Art’ Milligan (Protective): Arthur can easily be placed in the same category with Patch Cipriano; Arthur is a distant cousin of the Cipriano family. Arthur's personality sings to Sirius like a siren. Sirius has tied this to his own rushed childhood and fast-tracked adulthood. People like Patch, Arthur, Winston and Monty, who can enjoy their years and lean on other support are muses that keep Sirius going at the end of the day. His protectiveness of Arthur has kicked into high gear as Arthur integrates himself more with the other species of the immortal 3. Unlike Patch, Sirius does fear for Arthur’s after life and hopes that whatever relationship he has with Roman Cleirigh remains only in this world.
Douglas Gish (Trusted): Douglas and Sirius have been strictly business and professional from the start of their relationship. It is a struggle keeping tabs on over 110,000 human shifters when Sirius only started off with 60 when they landed in the new world. Douglas helps Sirius keep his sanity and Sirius considers him a loyal member of their clan. However, besides work, their species and clan, Sirius and Douglas have little in common.
D.W. Colt (Trusted): Sirius would not call whatever he has with D.W a friendship nor would he disrespect their relationship by calling it anything less. All Sirius can say is that he trusts D.W. Sirius was the one who finally gave D.W the go ahead to infiltrate the Colts. With his blessing she has been able to create a massive network of information on the Colts that will lead to their demise.
Ronan Cleirigh (Understanding): The Cleirigh family is the reason why Sirius and his clan are in Chicago. They have kept their relationship platonic but Patch, Arthur and a few other human shifters have integrated themselves with the local magic users. Sirius had reached out with his concerns and Ronan respectably laid those concerns to rest. Ronan and Sirius have continued to speak on the regular.
Scorpius Getta (Understanding): Getta is the closest person that Sirius has as a friend other than his own kind. Sirius has always had a problem trusting non-human shifters, especially those who were not a part of the immortal 3. Getta is easier to get along with and they have come to an understanding that human criminals that Sirius’ team are unable to get behind bars are free to become cattle.
Ellis Watts III (Understanding): It has been years in the making, finding out who they could trust and making friends with people who had strong pulling within Councils, but Sirius had finally found their key players. The jackals were the key to setting their plans in motion as government workers. Clan Jackal aided in the final developments of getting a supernatural to the top of the Chicago government; a Mayor. There is a lot to lose if things go wrong.
Ebony Anderson (Understanding): Ebony and Imani have always been a pleasure to work with. A small majority of his clan within the police department also work with them on the side. Sirius and his clan are willing to hand off untouchables and other supernaturals that go unpunished by their packs to the Andersons.
Blaine Colt (Understanding): Sirius and Blaine’s relationship is a new one. Sirius does not trust the Colts and has his operative on the inside but could not pass up the opportunity when it came up. Imani Anderson's marriage into the Colt family opened nearly the same handoff but Sirius is still trying to work out the kinks with Blaine and his brother, Colin.
Hostile Connections:
Nick Hamelin (Abhorrence): Sirius never understood Clan Rat’s idiotic need for minuscule information. They are unneeded and unwanted, forcing themselves to be important by trading off secrets. Nick has had something against Sirius and his people since they moved to Chicago. Being the neutral party, Sirius has kept a levelled head about Nick but the unhealthy hunger for information has become tedious. Sirius has warned them again recently to be left alone or else the naturality with the animal shifters will be voided.
Jim Montgomery (Strong Hate): Jim is Nick Hamelin puppet from Clan Rat and has blown a few of Sirius' people covers with their unending meddlesomeness. The human shifter liaisons have tried to reach out to Jim specifically to come to an arrangement, like many of the arrangements the rats have with other animal shifter clans but have always returned without a deal and bugged. These childish acts have already cost the rats people Underground and Sirius plans on bringing it up to the others of the immortal 3 before making the same move.

She’s been in and out of rehab ever since, and Teddy has lived with several families and several foster home residences, many of which are awful and probably have to do with why it’s so hard for Teddy to trust to this day. What Did His, Her or Their Bedroom Look Like: Since Teddy never had a room to call his own for longer than a few months until he was 16, he just got used of never putting anything up. At the Lawrence’s, his room is shared with one of his brothers, so he has nothing but a picture of his biological mother. Important Experiences or Events: The day the Lawrence’s told him that they wanted to adopt him so that there was no chance of losing Teddy from their family. It was the first time Teddy ever actually felt wanted in someone’s life. Health Problems: Clinical depression. Religion and beliefs: Agnostic.

Good Habits: Has a strong ability to cheer people up, putting his friends before himself. Best Characteristic: Able to put anything aside to make sure the people he loves are okay. Worst Characteristic: Unsure of how to properly deal with his anger, therefore blowing up over something that doesn’t require a large reaction. Worst Memory: When Teddy got a role in his school musical in junior year, he wanted his biological mother to come and see it. She was out of rehab at the time, so she showed up, but was high. When Teddy showed on stage, she began to scream and cry in excitement, causing the show to end early and have her kicked out and banned from school property. Teddy hasn’t spoken to her since. Best Memory: The day he realized the Lawrence’s were good people and that they actually cared about his safety and well being. Proud of: His ability to put a smile on almost anyone’s face. Embarrassed by: His biological parents. Driving Style: Calm until the slightest thing goes wrong, then it’s just a panicky downward spiral from there. Attitude: Says odd things for attention and just because he generally doesn’t have a filter, happy-go-lucky and laid back, tries to be nice to everyone. Fears: Abandonment, embarrassing himself. Feels Vulnerable When: He’s put in a situation where he could potentially embarrass himself, when he’s being honest with people. Pet Peeves: Vegans, snooty/serious people, when girls laugh obnoxiously loud on purpose. Sexuality: Pan-sexual. Exercise Routine: Doesn’t have a set out exercise routine, usually just realizes he ate an entire bag of chips and hasn’t moved from his bed all day so he’ll do as many push ups as he can, and repeat. Day or Night Person: Both, usually more night. Introvert or Extrovert: Extrovert. Optimist or Pessimist: Optimist.
LIKES AND PREFERENCES
Music: Doesn’t have a favourite band or anything, he’s too all over the place with his music taste. Likes at least one song from every genre possible, but his favourite songs currently are Ghosttown by Yung Lean and the Nicki Minaj remix of Plain Jane by A$AP Ferg. Books: The Chronicles of Narnia series. Magazines: N/A. Foods: Cookie dough, Jalapeno chips, lasagna. Drinks: Tequila, rum and coke, chocolate milk. Animals: Thinks that giraffes are really living the Good Life, a huge cat person too. Sports: N/A. Social Issues: Thinks people should just be open-minded and shut up about anything else. Favorite Saying: “This bitch empty, YEET.” Color: Yellow. Clothing: Has a strange mix of grill dad at a barbecue and Instagram pretty boy, wearing a lot of brightly coloured shirt/weirdly patterned clothes with random accessories that usually don’t match.  Jewelry: Random terrible rings and necklaces purchased at Hot Topic. Games: Has this game with himself where he can see how long he can go without watching porn. The longest was six days. Websites: Twitter, Vine, Pornhub. TV Shows: The Office, Stranger Things, Teen Wolf, Rupaul’s Drag Race. Movies: Kill Bill, Rent, The Hunger Games, literally any horror movie. Greatest Want: A romantic partner he can trust completely. Greatest Need: Therapy.
LIFESTYLE
Favorite Possession: His pipe, the first one he ever bought with his eldest adoptive brother. Most Cherished Possession: His only picture of his biological mother. Neighborhood: Rochester. Married Before: N/A. Significant Other Before: Several failed ‘relationships’. Children: N/A. Relationship with Family: With his adoptive family Teddy couldn’t be happier, the Lawrence’s are amazing and he gets along with all his siblings. However, he does miss his biological mother very much and hopes to see her again someday soon. When it comes to his biological father, Teddy is bitter that he would leave his mother when she needed him most and feels robbed of a proper family. Car: None of his own, drives the family car whenever he’s home. Career: Worked at several bars but can never hold down a proper job, currently looking for another one. Salary: N/A. Other Income: Accepts whatever the Lawrence’s will give him although he rarely asks them for anything since he feels bad, sells whatever drugs he has in stock whenever he gets desperate. Dream Career: To be in famous musicals. Love Life: After just confessing his feelings to Lana they’re currently not on speaking terms since it didn’t exactly go as planned. A sucker for aesthetically pleasing people, Teddy acquires crushes on anybody in passing who he believes is attractive, making being friends with him a little difficult since he will probably develop a crush on you. Sexual Turn Ons: Public sex, neck kissing, excessive touching. Sexual Turn Offs: Bad dirty talk, awkwardness, obnoxiously loud fake sounding moans. Hobbies: Binge watching movies/TV shows, partying, harassing his friends, getting high. Talents or Skills: Can act and sing, although he’s more shy when it comes to his singing, exceptional at making friends (whether he keeps them around or not). Intelligence Level: When it comes to school Teddy is at an average intelligence level, although if he really applied himself it would make all the difference.

For the week of 23 July 2018
Quick Bits:
A Walk Through Hell #3 showcases several times just how good Goran Sudžuka is an artist. His character reactions and facial expressions are among the best in the industry, achieving so much with a brevity of line. Amazing work.

Amazing Spider-Man #2 continues to set up the new/old status quo for Peter and his supporting cast. I think, ultimately, I like this issue more than the first due to there not being all of the contrived loss this time around, instead working more to build the new in Peter’s life. Great art form Ryan Ottley, Cliff Rathburn, and Laura Martin.

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bedtime Games #2 gets more into the meat of the story, transforming from a simple childhood excursion into more outright horror and supernatural territory. I love how Nick Keller and Conor Nolan are presenting the manipulation and manifestation of a kid’s dreams and nightmares, with his spiel meaning one thing to a child, whereas it would likely be interpreted entirely differently to adults. Great art from Nolan and Kelly Fitzpatrick.

Blackwood #3 deals with the fallout of Dennis’ death as the faculty and students of Blackwood continue to try to piece together what’s put them in this mess. Great art from Veronica and Andy Fish.

Bone Parish #1 is the incredible debut of this new crime/horror series from Cullen Bunn, Jonas Scharf, and Alex Guimaráes. It’s an interesting hook of voodoo and drugs, creating a product from the bones of the dead that causes you to apparently experience the memories of the dead. Bunn crafts some interesting characters here in the Winters family, and Scharf and Guimaráes’ is spot on darkness and mood bringing this world to life. This is a really good fix.

Britannia: Lost Eagles of Rome #1 returns with the beginning of a new mystery, with Robert Gill, José Villarrubia, and Diego Rodriguez taking over the art chores while Peter Milligan continues the story. I like the set up, with three legions ambushed and their standards stolen, clues being hinted at an inside job pointing at a possible plot against the Emperor, Nero, or just a means to greedy ends of former Legionaries now in Egypt.

Descender #32 is a beautiful end to this series, bittersweet as all machine life is taken...somewhere, setting up part of the premise as the story will continue into the new Ascender series next year. Jeff Lemire and Dustin Nguyen pretty much have a masterpiece on their hands here, gorgeous artwork and a heartwrenching story.

Dungeons & Dragons: Evil at Baldur’s Gate #3 is worth it just for the modrons. This issue features some beautiful artwork from Harvey Tolibao and Juan Manuel Rodriquez, as Jim Zub focuses this issue on Delina and her quest to rid herself of her wild magic. This is probably my favourite of these character pieces so far, both for the art and for how it deals with growing Delina in a more positive direction, reconciling that a chaotic temperament isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Also, modrons.

Hack/Slash: Resurrection #9 is another fun issue guest-starring Vampirella as we discover more of Cassie’s family’s history. The mix of humour and horror is wonderful.

Harbinger Wars 2 #3 features one of the moments we’ve been waiting for since Harbinger Renegade #5. Though I can’t say it ends in the fashion that we’d necessarily expect or have hoped for, but there’s still a level of satisfaction. Also, the art from Tomás Giorello, Renato Guedes, and Diego Rodriguez is incredible. The design for the Livewire-augmented Bloodshot is just amazing.

Hit-Girl #6 is worth it for Eduardo Risso and Patricia Mulvihill’s artwork alone, perfectly fitting the gritty and violent world that Mark Millar and John Romita Jr. created with Kick-Ass. Jeff Lemire is still an odd fit for this world, as irreverence and violence like this aren’t usually within his standard themes and narrative characteristics, (even when you consider Animal Man or Moon Knight), but he’s doing a great job here. Amidst the violence, there’s a tie to family and some very nice utilization of hallucinations and fever dreams that add depth to the story.

Hunt for Wolverine: Mystery in Madripoor #3 rushes towards a conclusion as the X-women take on Viper’s femme fatales. I like the story, especially as Jim Zub has been delving into the characters’ past with Logan, mining Domino’s fling of sex and violence here. Can’t say I really like Thony Silas’ art, though. While many of the characters are indistinguishable again apart from their clothes, it feels like the art has been rushed. I liked Silas’ art in Royals, so I’m not sure what happened here.

Infinity Wars Prime #1 has some really nice artwork from Mike Deodato Jr. and Frank Martin, well-suited to the somewhat disjointed, patchwork narrative that Gerry Duggan and others have been putting together since the beginning of Infinity Countdown and now continuing here. It’s not exactly what you’d expect, with some interesting ideas from Loki regarding how reality and stories have been rewritten, and makes me wonder what’s to come throughout the rest of this event.
| Published by Marvel
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Long Con #1 is an interesting beginning from Dylan Meconis, Ben Coleman, EA Denich, and M. Victoria Robado. It’s a decidedly different take on a post-apocalyptic tale, with a localized destruction zone, and an interesting hook by placing the epicentre of survivors within a pop culture convention. The art from Denich and Robado is a real draw. Denich has a style that reminds me a bit of Jim Mahfood and Phil Hester, perfectly fitting the mix of humour and the wasteland.
| Published by Oni Press
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lucy Dreaming #5 is the conclusion to what has been a highly imaginative, lushly illustrated series from Max Bemis and Michael Dialynas. There’s a very interesting theme of male versus female fantasies running throughout the book, but it also works as a surface level coming-of-age adventure.
| Published by BOOM! Studios
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Marvel Two-in-One #8 takes a step back from the action of recent issues and takes a moment to reflect, as Ben and Johnny deal with being stranded on a strange world ruled by a deranged Spider-Man without their powers. Chip Zdarsky plays with our heartstrings as the two come to terms with their situation.
| Published by Marvel
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mr. & Mrs. X #1 is a continuation of the character arc that began in the recent Rogue & Gambit mini-series, flowed through X-Men Gold #30, and now winds up here with this new ongoing series from Kelly Thompson, Oscar Bazaldua, and Frank D’Armata. This issue takes us back through a more elaborate version of events leading up to the wedding proper, allowing for deeper and fairly humorous character moments, before taking off to the honeymoon. The dialogue is full of Thompson’s welcome sense of humour and the art from Bazaldua and D’Armata is perfect. As I’ve said before, I don’t really care for the Remy & Rogue pairing, but Thompson makes it work and be highly entertaining.
| Published by Marvel
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Multiple Man #2 is even more insane than the first issue, with Matthew Rosenberg devising a pretzel of a time travel plot that maybe makes sense to Madrox, but doesn’t to anyone else. It’s a blend of dupes, humour, and a bit of continuity with some truly excellent art from Andy MacDonald and Tamra Bonvillain.
| Published by Marvel
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The New World #1 reminds me a bit of Frank Miller and Dave Gibbons’ Martha Washington, but with a decidedly modern bent that takes the patriotism and post-apocalyptic society and turns it into a state run version of Cops with the people voting on whether or not criminals get executed. It’s full of interesting socio-political ideas like any Aleš Kot book, and clean and compelling art from Tradd and Heather Moore.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
There’s also a back-up story, wholly unrelated to the main narrative, from a pair of new creators, Aaron Stewart-Ahn and Susando C, that almost overshadows the main book in its quality. It’s a nicely creepy haunted hotel room story that reminds me of Joyce Carol Oates by way of David Lynch.

Pathfinder: Spiral of Bones #5 is the excellent conclusion to this series, with some interesting and unexpected twists as Crystal Frasier, Tom Garcia, and Morgan Hickman give us Valeros’ final battle with Zeladar. I love the action sequences from Garcia.

Pestilence: A Story of Satan #3 somehow takes an even darker turn even as a little bit of hope creeps into the story. Frank Tieri, Oleg Okunev, Rob Schwager, and Mark Englert are keeping this ticking along nicely, with some interesting revelations this issue and the introduction to another potential threat.

The Punisher #228 brings to an end this particular chapter of Frank’s war against crime. It makes me wonder where Matthew Rosenberg is going to take the next act when he and Szymon Kudranski launch the new Punisher series, whether we’ll still see some Black Widow and Winter Soldier, and if there’ll be some resolution to the Hydra arc. Either way, this arc from Rosenberg, Guiu Vilanova, and Lee Loughridge concludes nicely, with a somewhat surprising resolution.

Punks Not Dead #6 rounds out the first arc, fleshing out a bit of what we already found out in the Black Crown Quarterly flashback story and bringing the disparate elements circling around Fergie’s life down on his head. It is very, very good, capturing some of the spirit of old Vertigo supernatural stories, but doing something decidedly new with it. David Barnett and Martin Simmonds are telling a great tale here and, again, I really can’t say enough about Simmonds’ art (with flats from Dee Cunniffe). The layouts are among the most visually interesting out there right now.

Redneck #13 brings up back from the trade break, with Bartlett on the run and a whole new mess in drug-running vampires from his past. Great art as always from Lisandro Estherren and Dee Cunniffe.

The Sentry #2 works to upend the new status quo created in the first issue, with everything seemingly going wrong for Bob and his simulated world that holds the Sentry. Like with his Moon Knight run, there are some very interesting questions that Jeff Lemire raises here about identity and the possibilities of where this is leading is intriguing. Also, stunning artwork from Kim Jacinto, Joshua Cassara, and Rain Beredo.

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Shanghai Red #2 continues the high level of quality set by the first issue as Jack/Red/Molly seeks revenge. This story is compelling and propulsive, sucking you in and refusing to let go. Christopher Sebela and Joshua Hixson have a real hit on their hands here.
| Published by Image
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
StarCraft: Scavengers #1 is very good, even if you know absolutely nothing about the video game. Jody Houser and Gabriel Guzmán set a tone and story more akin to a horror sci-fi like Alien, setting up the titular scavengers to potentially find terror on a derelict alien ship. When you add the undercurrent of a boyhood crush and a hint of political subterfuge as a side plot, you wind up with a well-rounded beginning here.
| Published by Dark Horse
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
TMNT #84 concludes the Rat King arc in a fairly inventive way that brings together the Turtles’ journey through strange places and what’s been going on in the city. Again, I have to sing the praises of Dave Wachter and Ronda Pattison. The artwork for this entire arc has just been phenomenal and this issue keeps up that level of quality.
| Published by IDW
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Transformers: Lost Light #21 is a little surprising in its pacing, given how quickened the speed of plotlines crashing together and being resolved has been over the past few issues. This one’s more about building and building to the grand reveal on the final page. It works, and it’s very welcome. James Roberts, Jack Lawrence, and Joana Lafuente do a wonderful job with this issue.
| Published by IDW
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Transformers: Unicron #2 brings back a number of lost, missing, or presumed dead characters as Starscream makes his play for prominence in the battle to stop Unicron. I like how John Barber has been bringing together the disparate threads, here and in Optimus Prime, as the universe begins to draw to a close. It’s also interesting to see how ROM’s mythology has been woven through the fabric, changing perspective on both his world and here the Dire Wraiths. Also, stunning artwork from Alex Milne and Sebastian Cheng. They’re really making this story feel epic.
| Published by IDW
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Venom #4 is an epic revisioning of history, introducing the god of the symbiotes and their true origin to us. It’s great. I’m still amazed by Ryan Stegman, JP Mayer, and Frank Martin’s artwork as it seems to get better and better with subsequent issues, raising the bar for the insane story that they’re telling with Donny Cates. This is great world building within the Marvel Universe, while also telling a highly entertaining overall story.
| Published by Marvel
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
X-23 #2 is another entertaining issue. Although I do miss Tom Taylor, I think that Mariko Tamaki has perfectly nailed the voice and character for Laura and Gabby. The slightly offbeat humour is still present, but a little muted from the All-New Wolverine run, which allows for the eerie and disturbing parts of the story to take prominence a bit more. It’s good, especially the astonishing artwork from Juann Cabal and Nolan Woodard.

Vod asked me what the Dead Boyfriends Society’s feelings were towards each other and I thought it was dumb and funny so I’m gonna share it here
Warning for some T/M/A spoilers!
Henry:
Henry @ Gerry: First meets him at the archive and knows he's an avatar, has the vibe, but they don't see each other much, eventually talks to him after becoming an avatar and assumes the identity Jake, thinks he's class and wants to help out while also learning, they bond over music (Henry doesn't know much except instrumental), and they go out for cheeky nandos
Henry @ Michael: At first, very intrigued as he was marked by the Spiral after the Ouija board talk, looks into Michael Shelley and finds out more about entities and avatars, gets lost in the corridors for a bit till he finds him which surprises Michael, starts being followed and watched and grows fond of the distorted lad, helps stop the ritual but consequently becomes an avatar of the Stranger (marked early, further exacerbated by Angler Fish), Michael doesn't mind it and likes the company, become smitten with each other and bond over identity issues
Henry @ Mike: finds out about him through statements and goes digging, assumes the identity James, kind of stalks him at local cafes and bookstores, Mike quickly notices and almost throws him off a building but sees he's been marked by multiple entities and us like "I don't want my stalker to end up aligned with the Vast" and let's him go, they eventually talk over tea and that's when Henry really learns about avatars and how to become one, bond over early marking and estrangement in childhood
Michael:
Michael @ Henry: Sees that the new archivist assistant is aligned with the Eye and starts following him, sees he's been marked by the Spiral and is all "ooh shrimpteresting", makes the corridors confusing in hopes of him getting lost, fails but doesn't mind it, sees that the Stranger is very interested as well and uses that to his advantage to stop the ritual, slightly upset over him becoming an avatar of it but starts to grow fond of the little puppet lad, Henry doesn't prod him over his past which he likes, and gets to interact with the archivist more so he likes having him around, he's not sure if what he feels is love or power, but he wouldn't mind falling for him so he does
Michael @ Gerry: "please stop burning my friends" "no" "fuck you", "oh you're burning the other ones too, that's fair" "yeah", "stop fucking with the archivist please" "no :3" "alright then", they wind up as allies since they both want the ritual to fail, but they keep a distance, only really start to know each other from Henry, Gerry also ran into him as Michael Shelley and misses the poor lad but he knows nothing will bring him back so he doesn't bother to bring it up, even when they start their relationship he can't help but see those parts of him and feel bittersweet over it
Michael @ Mike: "quit your avatar and join my spiral band" "no (jumps off a building" "well then", still fond of him and his fractals, basically a stray cat that keeps showing up to his door, grows keen on him due to Henry, really likes how well he fits in his arms, traces his scars, a bit smitten but Mike won't admit he likes the attention, door portal time
Gerry:
Gerry @ Henry: "oh ew an entity sugar baby", doesn't recognize Henry as Jake at first until he Beholds and sees he's an avatar of the Stranger, a bit wary of him but he seems intrigued enough to let him in on some info, also sees he's aligned with the Eye, lets Henry in on his hunt for Leitners, shares his music, has the most fun he's had in years, Henry uses his Stranger abilities to get backstage for his favorite band and then he starts getting feelings, they start dating reluctantly and become quite the nosy pair much to Jon's dismay
Gerry @ Michael: went over most of it, but he felt bad for him back as his time as an archivist assistant, was torn up when Gertrude said he had died, doesn't recognize him immediately but Eye stuff shows him it is him, avoids him since he's still a bit bruised about it, Henry drags him back into life, they start actually talking and bonding and while he won't admit he's soft for him Michael is too cute and clingy to ignore, hair braid gang
Gerry @ Mike: "go off short king!!", bit peeved at him throwing people off high places but he understands, still wants to get rid of his book but nuh uh not happening, "oh he's actually really polite", gets more info on book places thanks to him, "you want tats for your scars?" "No thanks" "cool" "...clouds would be pretty cool though" ":D", bond over actual books and gets him into music, thinks he's nice enough, I actually don't see them dating but I could see them being g really close friends, maybe grow fond over time with stargazing and info sharing
Mike:
Mike @ Henry: initially put off by stalking at first, but sees he's just trying to get info, pretty closed off till the Throwing Him Off A Building moment then humors his curiosity, sees they are quite similar and lets him in on be coming an avatar, annoyed that he attracts Stray Cat Michael but sees it's just his thing to attract creatures and avatars, lots of reading and tea time and couch cuddles during especially bad storms
Mike @ Michael: "VAST. THERE'S A WEIRD FUCKING CAT OUT HERE.", "please leave me alone" "ha ha don't jump off a building, your scars are so sexy aa", still gets followed but eh he's used to it, "do you at least want some tea?" "(Skitters) maybe", finally really talk thanks to Henry, kind of digs the big twisty hugs, won't admit he's choked up over Michael giving him his scarf, "how is your hair both terrifying and soft" "that be the mentol illness luv"
Mike @ Gerry: "I want your book" "no :)" "fuck", "I'll give you these books though" "brilliant", pleasant tea time, does get cloud tats, gets a bit flustered at all the art he gives him because his apartment is pretty bare save for his book collection, really loves percussive music cause it sounds like rain, good friends, a bit of a crush but won't make the first move
