i can't imagine how much their lives have changed through all of this. to go from where they were to this must be so intense. it's clear that everyone involved was really happy to work on the project, so it's a bit disheartening to see them pull away from engaging with their audience, but it makes sense when they just keep getting the same memes spammed to them over and over again.

it's also not okay to send actors the wild stuff they've been getting in chat. it's not okay to send ANYBODY that kind of stuff.

but as he sits down in the studio, during those fleeting, rushing moments of silence and inaction, his fingers hover over the contact info and without much thinking he's speaking into the phone; pleasantly, gleefully surprised you answered this quick

it's all casual, oh, so casual, however, the coursing insecurity manages to break through the veil of distant politeness and he asks in that accusing, grumbling tone

"When are you coming home?"

and, yeah, he kind of hates himself for it but it needs to be said

it needs to be released from the confines of his tremoring inside

whatever answer you give, he accepts gracefully

how can he not

he needs to be a perfectly reasonable understanding boyfriend

because what if you decide to leave him if he's not

...there's that insecurity again...

but either way, he is actually understanding, he's just a bit scared...

lol definitely pesters you sweetly to answer what was going through your mind during that "space" period

it's the ever present dichotomy of his to be simultaneously petty and kind about the same thing

so yes he's a bit defensive, bit offended but he still loves you and love equals respect

YOONGI:

there's a long, stretching moment of a pregnant pause and then a single question:

"Would you mind telling the reason?"

if you say it or even if you don't, it doesn't really matter

he gives a short nod, a comforting smile and says that he understands but makes you promise you don't try to move mountains all by yourself

he's okay, if he knows you're okay then you're both okay

he does keep himself busy

fills up his schedule so there's no moment to dwell on anything...untoward

he makes sure you're okay thrice a week by either actively checking your socials or sending a quick, straightforward message

if you call, he picks up in an instant

doesn't pressure you in the slightest

our gentle prince :(

he trusts you implicitly so if you say you're fine and you got this covered, all you need is to think on your lonesome, he's not the type to discern hidden meanings in the undercurrents of your tone

he just accepts what you say at face value

at times, he misses you bit more

but Yoongi is perfectly capable of handling himself

and if he happens to call and then proceed to ask nonsensical, off the topic questions just to stretch the conversation a bit longer then that's none of anyone's business >:(

once the space is over he welcomes you back with a good home cooked meal and a ready ear should you need one

he won't ever hold this against you, won't ever even pry if you're uncomfortable by it

all around he's a safe space that has no selfish desires or inhibitions to be the only space you heal in :')

JIN:

lmaoo but it's literally him

while twiddling with his thumbs, Jin asks, voice small : "is it something that I did?"

he's so wholly convinced he's at fault lmao

so you may need to dedicate an hour (or three) to convince him this is not breaking up, he's not at fault and no one has done anything wrong, it's just a thing that you feel the need to happen

you have to find briefly a different place to stay at 'cause if you're anywhere near his periphery there's no way he won't bother you

like he's not physically capable

I just have a theory that he doesn't like for arguments or any kind of conflicts to drag out so he faces them head on, occasionally cracking a joke in between to lighten up the mood

(and now I'm sad thinking about Jin)

so, yes, it sort of goes against everything he believes is logical

but he's our golden manner superstar :( so, of course, he'll do as you ask

keeps in touch though

if you don't want to talk to him at all, then negotiates that must at least send him a thumbs up every two days

if you're with your parents will swallow the risign terror and call them to know how you're doing hehe

goes out drinking with his friends more because the silence of the apartment is just too damn overwhelming

and, yes, this might just be Hoseok who now gets pestered with 103% increase to go out drinking lmao

as more time passes he begins developing this...habit

HOSEOK:

(why does he need to go to the military he's been serving for years (¬_¬)

has a very firm, insightful conversation about why you need space

not because he's disapproving of it, or he's personally upset, no, it more so stems from the need to know you're okay and whether or not someone has done some evil upon you

once you're both on equal footing what this "space" entails and why there is a need for it, he lets you have all the space you want with no grudges or resentments

open communication is important for him so he merely makes sure you're both perfectly clear with each other before the brief parting

keeps himself busy but still thinks about you a lot

doesn't call or text that often if he knows where you're at and that you're okay

whenever he misses you, buys a gift for you or anything that makes him think of you

amasses a lot of trinkets

probably makes you some kind of jewelry in the meantime

he trusts you so he doesn't question your thought process but he's still human and needs someone to talk to

I feel like he'd go to Namjoon for advice and perhaps just to relieve the tension rising in the background of his mind

definitely makes sure that the things back at home are in prime condition

like say you've got a winter coat that you never gave a proper wash and left hanging on the coat rack

one day he's walking past it and he thinks: "this needs some cleaning"

and then does the laundry :(

if you update your socials, he likes all of the posts

sometimes pulls out his phone and stares at a picture of two of you

that's when he misses you the most :(

he doesn't say any of this in great detail once you return, always feeling the need to be The Caregiver not the one being cared for

he just says he missed you a lot and kisses the top of your head :'(

gives you all the bought presents over a period of time with an excuse "just because"

(they can't just take Hobi away like that I swear)

JIMIN:

yeah, so...it's not ideal

Jimin's not great with...space

he doesn't like it when people bottle their feelings up, he doesn't like it when they cry alone when they lose all hope and hide themselves away

so when you say that you want space

his mind just leaps and bounds to conclusions

he's making this whole ass conspiracy board in his head, thinking that something awful happened to you, that he'd done something so wrong that now you hate him forever

so one needs to go on a long and detailed explanation with him

still being a caring partner he does as you ask, he gives you space, essentially putting your needs above his

though he might ask you to stay home

so at least he knows you're safe and sound

I feel like if his partner would be gone his anxiety would rocket to insurmountable heights

though it's not like seeing you withdrawn and quiet doesn't unnerve him in a way

probably still tries to initiate a conversation quite frequently whether in person or over text

just small domestic things

"do you want some of this pizza?" "you're going to shower?" "is that jacket...new?"

just craves interaction, it's jut a bit unnatural for him to not hug you or talk to you for hours to end considering that you're not in a fight and he's not mad at you

it's just odd to him that...this is what you want

but as much as he struggles he tries just as hard to be respectful of your wishes

offending or making you mad at him will simply not happen

he will fight anyone who dares to make you unhappy and that does absolutely include himself

talks about this space to few of his friends (I'm thinking Hoseok for emotional release and Yoongi for advice and insight)

TAEHYUNG:

so maybe some of you be surprised but he takes the request rather well

I theorize he might be prone to getting into sulky moods and so he might understand where you're coming from in terms of wanting to be alone

so he nods, gives a polite agreement and affirms that he'll be here once you feel like returning back

though similarly to Jimin I think he would still insist you don't stay at a hotel or with a friend

but he'd go out of his way to make sure he doesn't crowd you

e.g. leaving before you wake up, coming home once you're asleep

he soaks up your company with the simple fact of seeing you resting in the bed, that's enough

be that as it may, his melancholic big heart misses you to the point his throat is choking up with emotions

he listens to love songs while on long drives

watches videos you've made before and photos taken in the past

grows a bit sullen and expresses that turmoil on late night talks, most likely, with Jimin

after drawing a prolonged, suffering sigh, he'd simply shake his head and say: "it's whatever. It's what they want and I'm not going to argue with that."

JUNGKOOK:

he's a bit...he's a bit hard to read

he's a more than a tad confused about request

I imagine him blinking in silence for a solid minute after the phrase was uttered

probably inquires whether or not you're mad at him like million times

for some reason his first instinct when you say you'd like to stay somewhere else is to ask whether you'll visit Bam somedays lmaoo

he's honestly a bit too confused to form strong reactions be it positive or negative

but awkwardly he obliges your request

probably takes him a lot of getting used to the change

fishes out his phone to text you the most dumbest, menial thing that just happened and then he remembers "space" and just goes: "guess not..." proceeding to stand like a sim whose action has been interrupted

you know that meme of someone cutting off all of the sleeves of their shirt because they're partner left taking all of the impulse control with them?

inexplicably some things are just changed with zero explanation

okay so he might be just a tiny, imperceptible bit sulky about it but it doesn't stem from a place of intended maliciousness

sleep evades him as he's thinking when will this end though doesn't bother you a lot

I appreciate Lea going public about hers and others bad experiences with Quackity studios and I have faith in her good intentions, but theres is a certain amount of her info which just seems unnecessary.

Look im not a fan of the "this should be a private conversation" arguments but this isnt me saying Lea should handle things privately. Even if the whole thing was supposed to be privately handled, I appreciate her going public so we as the audience could see what had been happening. But, some of the info Lea is relaying to us is just not helpful and only encouraging hate.

Take the fact that apparently she's been claiming everyone but higher ups have been kicked from the discord. This is second hand info, for a start. Maybe from a trusted source but technically still hearsay, even if i believe its probably true. And, also just makes Quackity look bad... for like... no reason? We've all known this process of sorting out the business structure is a process. Maybe communication should be better with the other team members as to what is happening but also when theyre solving the issue of worker mistreatment they aren't gonna fire all the workers? I think we (and Lea) should trust the process, and if somehow the end result is still Not Good, then Lea has a reason to relay the info from their source.

Another one I want to mention, since it rubs me the wrong way a little, was her Q&A response about the eggs disappearance. Do I think Lea was lying? No. Was it useful to the conversation over workers rights we were having to mention that the writer's team seemed to not have plans for an arc they had? Not at all. The only useful info I got about that arc was that the egg admins were unaware, so probably feared for their job security which is Not Good. All that info really did was make the fans have less faith in the admin team. Besides, I don't know about when Lea started working on the admin team, but I think all her characters began after the eggs were returned. So this may have been more second hand info, which means its even more unnecessary to share.

I think this post is also a good time to mention that we have clips of Phil talking about Tallulah telling him BTS things that were Just Wrong (eg in regards to who the original egg pairings were before her character was added) and it makes sense, considering the communication on the QSMP team seems to be Very Bad. But, that is to say, people on the team don't always know everything about lore plans and other things.

this season isn't great, but this episode was terrible. evan is a terrible writer. he's also a fucked up troll. he likes that he's the b*rchie king, he likes b*rchie, he projects onto them. and truly, the less we try to explain anything about this, the better.

i think i need to wait and watch what comes next (from better writer's hands tbh) until i say anything else regarding canon.

but long post ahead, cause i've been wanting to address something that it's not even coherent, but it's just making me insane lol.

we have 6 episodes ahead of us. 6 weeks. if you guys freak out with every single thing that happens, no one is going to enjoy anything anymore.

i don't have spoilers. all the spoilers i had, from when i was in the clubhouse with evan, i gave to you. the way i read the interviews, i told you. i don't have anything else to add. i never had inside info or anything like that, all my speculations were based on rumors going around *and* the bts we got.

all that i could speculate i already did.

well. when s4 ended, i said, "if they're gonna make veronica look like archie's second choice, i'm not going to watch s5 live". i carried on watching because they didn't, they made it quite clear that veronica is archie's first choice seven years later.

i'm saying it again, "if they're gonna make varchie go through some b*rchie drama/bullshit again, i'm not going to watch s6 live."

if i do watch it, it'll be the same by the end of it if they get a s7. you have to go episode by episode with this show until the entire journey makes sense.

that's all i can do! that's all i can control. that's all you guys can control: the time and dedication you're willing to give to this show.

(i write a fic that's never-ending and even with roughly 4 readers left, i am pushing through because i want to finish it. this is the time and dedication i'm willing to give to this show, writing this fic to those who still enjoy it and to myself, and to varchie.)

so my suggestion now is, let's watch the episodes. it's 6 weeks. are you going to be anxious for 4-5 out of 6 weeks because of something that maybe, possibly, perhaps will happen? are you going to try to make me and other people anxious because you are? i'm choosing, at this point, to trust my ship and the story they've been telling about them.

i know it's harder for bugheads at the moment (reminder that i, myself, am not one although i did love them back in s1 and do support their relationship in the core four context) because they've been dealing with another love interest, on top of cole and lili's breakup, on top of not getting a lot of content, or bts, etc, etc.

but as a varchie shipper...guys, i've been there!

i have seen reggie tell veronica they could be endgame. i have seen archie dance a duet with josie saying he'd fight for her. i have seen archie writing a song to someone else. i have seen veronica getting married to another guy, and then possibly sleep with him after sort of maybe getting back together with archie. trust me, no one in this fandom knows better what you guys are going through right now.

so yes, maybe jabitha will date, or maybe they won't. maybe bh will get back together this season, maybe they won't. it doesn't mean the end of bughead, not at all. look at all the shit other ships have been through (even b*rchies, really). you guys are fine.

is the show good right now? no, it's not. i thought it wasn't so bad until 5x08 (even with the b*rchie thing) but then it just went downhill, and 5x13 was the worst episode ever. no wonder it had 0.7 ratings. but like, does that mean it will stay so bad? i don't know. i haven't watched 5x14, 5x15, 5x16, etc. i don't know what's coming. it might be great! it might suck.

and you guys don't get it, half the varchie fandom left in s3 because there was no sight of varchie anywhere, and then we were pleasantly surprised with the best build up ever in s3C. but you know what? sometimes i wish varchie hadn't gotten back together then! so we would see more of that buildup, some actual reaction from archie seeing veronica choose reggie instead of him, etc. it would've opened a sea of possibilities for a good story.

and whether you like it or not, this is giving more space for other characters to be around. they're not developing them. they're not writing them well. but you can't deny that we have seen more of toni, reggie, fangs, even kevin and cheryl, than ever since...ever.

and it's okay if you just watch for your ship. but the show, and the writers, are not worried about you shdhshd. i think there has been a misconception about that. the ships exist within the show, and this season feels so weird because the core four is apart and bh is apart, but the show is ultimately about the characters and their good/bad decisions.

so, thinking about the characters, ask yourself: is archie in conditions to be with veronica right now? is betty in conditions to be with jughead right now? jug and archie are in their way to healing, it looks like, but betty still isn't. is veronica in conditions to be committed again atm? i don't know. will this change in a couple of episodes? maybe!

and it's same for other characters. choni are going through the exact same thing bh is, they just don't have the impending doom that is b*rchie hovering above, but i guess no one doubts choni.

but imagine if they get back to choni and just give them a few throw away lines and boom, it's all magically fixed. wouldn't they feel betrayed? don't you enjoy the aspect that bh is taking time for this reunion after they were completely shattered? i know i would've written varchie differently if i could.

anyway. it's useless to think "oh, zalben said this, evan said that, ras said this" when we can't control what they say, or how they think. we can only interpret it (90% of the time i've been right about them but whatever) and we can only watch the show in front of us and absorb something from that.

(which is hard when the episode sucks, but it's what we can do).

all this freaking out is making me stop enjoying the show, and the fandom. it's not giving anyone any joy. you guys have to calm down and i'm not being dismissive of how much a tv show can bring anxiety, but the only thing you can do is trust the process.

bughead has been a solid thing for 4 seasons. it's their first major problem. varchie has been not that solid but very, very present for 4 seasons. b*rchie has been whatever it has been for 4 seasons. jabitha is a new ship, but it's around now... but hasn't even really happened yet. like, all these characters have their stories to tell among them, and if we don't enjoy the road they take, we can only try to detach ourselves.

“Do you still love me?” Jungkook asked you, eyes red, lips slightly trembling.

“I never stopped.” you smile as tears continue to wet your cheeks. Hands reaching to caress Jungkook’s cheeks for maybe the last time. His hands clasped yours, tears starting to flow as well.

“Hey now, don’t cry. You have a recording tomorrow.” you let out a forced laugh, wiping his tears with the edge of your sweater.

“I’m sorry.. I never meant it to be like this..” he cried out the words as he put his head down on your chest, now sobbing uncontrollably. 

“Mmhm, I know,” you wrapped your hands around the younger man, stroking his back.

You two met not more than a year ago at a mutual friend’s birthday party.

The chemistry was off the roof from the moment you were introduced to the maknae of the international sensation group.

He didn’t asked your contact info that night and so you two would often make plans with your mutual friends just to get the chance to meet each other until he was sure you were also into him, and he finally asked you out. Not to an official date or whatever, just to a stroll around the neighbourhood. 

Approaching to your short return to (your country), he panicked and actually blurted out how he felt about you in a restaurant with Jimin and Hoseok present. The latter two, you, and even Jungkook himself, froze in place. Reading the mood, Jimin broke the ice and dragged Hoseok to what he said was a toilet emergency.

You and Jungkook were staring at each other for a short while until laugh bursted out of the both of you. You approached the younger man and gave him a small peck on the cheek before he hugged you oh-so-dearly.

You returned to your country for a short while and were back in Seoul. Life was going great for the both of you. BTS is still reigning on almost all music charts, and your business was also exploding. Your relationship was also ever-so-smooth.

You were his and he was yours.

Or at least that’s what the both of you thought.

7 months later, summer approached and you two were out on your usual date night routine. You two’d go to Hangang at night, and Jungkook wore a face mask for disguise just to be safe. He’d sat on the stairs facing the river while you’d go to the convenience store for snacks and join him later on. 

Around half an hour later, the two of you were laughing while eating your popsicles. He was getting sweaty from all the laughter so he had rolled his sleeves up. His handphone would suddenly buzz nonstop but he had ignored it. It was your first date in 2 weeks because of your schedules and at times like this he would practically ignore anything other than you. That is until your phone would follow suit. The buzzing just wouldn’t stop and you took it out of your bag just to check in case of emergency.

You scanned your phone for a while before it stunned you in place. 

“Jungkook, open your phone.” your eyes were still glued to your phone, and you had this weird expression that Jungkook had never seen before.

He whipped out his phone just to be welcomed by practically hundreds notifications from his friends, groupmates, and agency.

You two just sat there, dumbfounded, staring at your phones. You ignored the drippings from the popsicle you held.

“Just what..” Jungkook mumbled.

What the two of you didn’t know was a few eagle eyed fans had noticed Jungkook from his tattoos and snapped a whole tons of photos secretly. 

Jungkook looked up, looked around the park, matching the angle of where the photo were taken and caught the few teenagers with their phones directed at you two, rose up and practically dragged you to his car “C’mon, we’ve got to go”.

Twitter blew up. 

Gossip blogs blew up. 

The internet blew up.

For the past week all you could hear was people prying into the matter. Your information were spread wide across the internet by people you didn’t even know. You’d receive countless insults and whatnots through DMs. Your name ranked first in Naver for days. You came to your showroom one day just to be greeted by your front window spray painted in foul languages you couldn’t really process. 

Jungkook was worried sick about you, and he filed a police report to help you ease your mind. He couldn’t care less for himself at this point, but you were his Achilles heels, his soft spot. 

Of course, a small portion of his fans were supportive of your relationship, but your head was filled with the other side’s words. 

It got to the point that you were followed to your apartment one night by some drunk fans of his who tried to assault you. Thankfully you had gotten out of the situation without any problems, credits to your friends that were planning to stay over that day arriving just in time.

Hell broke loose when Jungkook knew about the matter. 

He wanted to publicly scold the “fans”, but Namjoon told him that it wasn’t the right move. Yet.

So he had you move in to his apartment for the time being and told you to not look at the internet for the time being.

He thought he’d gotten you safe until one night he came back to the apartment with the 95z line dropping by. Jungkook opened the front door and was about to call out your name until he noticed little drops of liquid on the floor. His brows knitted in furrow and he squatted down to inspect the drops. 

“Jungkook-ah?” Jimin asked warily at the sight.

The moment he realized it was blood, he sprinted and followed the trail. He found you on the bathroom with ripped sleeve, arms bleeding. You were leaning weakly to the wall. The bathroom floor and sink were half dyed with your blood. He stopped in his track, loss for words. You met his gaze through the reflection in the mirror. You turned around to face him, and a soft whimper came out from your mouth, tears running down uncontrollably. 

“They knocked on your door, I thought they were your acquaintances or something and I...” you tried your best to explain inbetween sobs.

His heart broke.

He cried and held you carefully.

“Oh fuck!” Taehyung cursed when he caught up to Jungkook, horrified with the sight before him. 

Jimin came up behind him and were fuelled with anger and worry the moment his eyes were set on you. “Taehyung-ah, call for ambulance.” Jimin said in a low voice. Taehyung nodded and fumbled for his phone. 

“Jungkook, I’ll go to the apartment security. Y/n, you’re going to be all right, okay?” Jimin patted Jungkook’s slumped figure and ran outside the apartment to get help.

Your sobbing filled the bathroom.

“I’m really sorry” Jungkook managed to talk in between sobs, his hands caressing your face.

Jungkook’s apartment became filled with more people as the night deepens.

Living in the same neighborhood, Namjoon and Hoseok came in as soon as they heard the news, beating the ambulance by a few minutes.

Medical worker arrived to get you to the hospital but you refused, still a crying mess, tired. Jungkook was practically drenched in your blood when Namjoon approached him, telling him to take a breather. His eyes were trembling, hands wouldn’t let go of you, so Namjoon had to drag him across the room to calm him down.

Exhausted, Jungkook slowly sat down on his bar chair and scanned the hectic apartment from the corner. You were bleeding in pain, being comforted by Jimin and Hoseok. Medical worker were doing emergency patch up to prevent more blood lose. Taeyung and their manager were talking to the apartment security and a few police officers. 

“What have I done to her, hyung?” Jungkook started to sob once again.

Rachel Amber, The Broken Angel Who Demonized Herself

Fair warning, please bear with this probably incredibly **longass** (I’m not kidding it’s rlly long) analysis of one of the fandom’s most controversial disliked characters, Rachel Amber. This is just my attempt to analyze her character based on observation from BtS to LiS so by no means do you have to accept them. Productive discussions are obviously very welcomed :D

In LiS, when we asked about Rachel around campus, most of them had nothing but compliments and praises for the missing girl. She was essentially an honorary Vortex Club member who socialised with the snobs, yet she also hung out with the skater stoners and was friendly with those at the bottom of the social hierarchy. Then we see those graffiti around where it hints at Rachel’s promiscuity, debts and conflicts with other people. That’s the first sign we see that Rachel Amber isn’t as perfect as everyone was making her out to be. Afterwards we discover that Rachel was a stoner herself and into whatever drugs there were, partied harder than anyone else, promiscuous, entered a relationship with local drug dealer Frank Bowers while having a secret relationship with Psycho teacher Mark Jefferson— all while maintaining a 4.0 GPA in her studies and being considered perfect and adored by practically everyone in her school. The girl’s incredible, obviously, or maybe scary for someone to be so spread out in everything.

Rachel was a straight A student with a 4.0 GPA, an administrative assistant to the Principal, beloved by students and faculty alike, literal goddess beauty, had ambitions to be a model and study international law, daughter of the DA and was the closest to perfection anyone would ever be— so what went wrong? What made her romanticise the idea of running away from a town where everyone loves and adores her?

Because of the above.

Yes, it may sound whiny and dramatic to feel tired of being loved and being the center of attention all the time, but there’s no point to it if it’s not you who they adore, but the person you’re pretending to be— (“I was feeling angsty and reckless. Tired of living up to the perfect image everybody expects out of me.”) —especially when you have to do so much just to maintain the lie.

Throughout LiS and BtS, Rachel’s ability to get along with everyone was always mentioned. At face value she was akin to a social butterfly. She hung out with stoners regardless of their social status (skaters or the vortex club), was friendly with anyone regardless of their place in the social hierarchy (eg; Daniel/Evan/Steph/Drew/Nathan) or even to strangers others usually ignored (Samuel/Homeless lady). Like Evan said, Her friends were her friends. She wasn’t one to let peer pressure affect her relationships so she wasn’t afraid to make all those acquaintances.

However, for those who knew her closely (Chloe and Jefferson), she was referred to as a chameleon, someone who blended in with everyone and everywhere seamlessly. This was an important detail regarding who Rachel was and her intimacy with others. To be able to make that comparison, they would’ve needed to know who the person Rachel actually was underneath the masks she’d created over the years. Chloe was the first to truly see and accept her for who she was. Jefferson was the one who exploited her for it.

For most, being a social chameleon would count as a beneficial social skill if they’re subtle. So long as the person doesn’t lose themselves in the process and is able to separate their personas from their true self, it remains a skill and will be used as such.

The problem with Rachel was that it transcended beyond a skill. A social chameleon was *what* she became, and that led to losing her own sense of identity, to becoming a stranger in her own body.

We see her confiding to Chloe about this feeling in Brave New World: (“Do you think there’s a point when you’ve been acting so much that you don’t even have your own personality anymore? You’re just whatever you think other people want you to be?”) —to which Chloe tells her she does have a personality because she assumed Rachel was talking about herself. But Rachel apparently wasn’t and clarifies she was talking about her father. She then elaborates on how her father doesn’t really exist, that how he was in the principal’s office was a mere performance and then the actual truth— that she’s afraid she’ll end up like him.

No matter how you interpret that scene, the conclusion is that one of Rachel’s fears was becoming like James— someone who’s been so wrapped up in all the lies and manipulation that he no longer seemed recognisable to even his own daughter.

At that point her defence mechanism of deflection and avoidance came into play after Chloe got a little too close to home. We first see this on the train scene when they play Two Truths and a Lie. Rachel gave factual statements as opposed to Chloe who gave facts that elaborated into her personal life. At one point Chloe can ask how Rachel knew about having a distal radius fracture and It’s a very minor detail, but when she explains that it’s because she broke her wrist when she was 10, she says it extremely fast. When Chloe is about to press for more info about something personal no matter what option you choose, Rachel dismissively turns around the conversation from herself back to Chloe again.

The next time we see her deflecting is right after witnessing her father cheating. When Chloe asks about her, Rachel deflects and guilt trips her into somehow thinking she’s at fault for failing to get them wasted and then proceeds to drown her sorrows into alcohol instead of opening up. Afterwards when they find the junkyard, Rachel chooses to isolate herself from Chloe and withdraws to the corner, getting irritated if Chloe chooses to invade her space. When Chloe confronts her about her sudden moodiness, Rachel yet again deflects and shifts the attention to Chloe by essentially telling her she’s self-centred. This scene was classic Deflection 101 brought by Rachel’s defence mechanism to cope with her father’s betrayal.

Rachel uses deflection and avoidance as a defence mechanism, a habit which stems from the dynamics of the Amber family. When you have a Politician as a father whose life work is to manipulate and lie, and a Stepford Wife as a mother who wilfully acts like a servant to her husband out of sacrifice and duty— an environment of deceit and suppression of one’s feelings will be fostered. This is what shapes Rachel to be distrusting and unhealthily altruistic as we see in BtS.

And so Rachel’s deflection is driven by 2 things: mistrust (James) and her unhealthy altruism (Rose).

As a district attorney, James unfortunately carried his work persona into his personal life and can be presumed to lie to even his own family on a daily basis to the point that Rachel can tell when he’s lying: (“When your Dad is the District Attorney, I guess lying is...something you're used to.”) (Why can't you just tell me the fucking truth?! Stop lying! Stop being a politician for one fucking minute! Can’t you just be my Dad?”) What that tells us is that Rachel’s actually used to being lied at and treated with cynicism, so naturally that would make her guarded around others. Not to mention since James often exercised his professional prerogative (just recall how he spoke to Chloe and her comment about his micro-aggressions towards his own family), it’s most likely that he was also cynical towards people in general and carried that mindset forward at Rachel as well.

As for Rose, you have to really observe how she carried herself and her choice of words. A lot of people pointed out how robotic she sounded and blamed it on bad voice acting, but I think that was actually intentional. She was too mannered, too submissive and too robotic as a person. It’s not exactly a bad thing, but a lot of her personality seemed to be too... *political* for the sake of her husband’s political career. It was altruistic in the way that she sacrificed her own needs for her husband’s and was unfailingly supportive (eg; preparing dinner all by herself, *respectfully* asking James for his drink, even going so far as to excuse James for kissing Sera like wtf). Point is, Rose was the stereotypical political wife whose job was to shut up, look good and smile for her husband while he does the talking. At one point in the dinner scene when they start fighting, James even dared to say ‘Rose, let me handle this’ as if Rose’s voice was irrelevant and unimportant to the table (when he literally just got exposed for cheating lmao).

So what happens when your family environment consists of a father who actively lies and uses manipulation to twist facts, expects you to be compliant in exchange for rewards (birthday money), has the ability to read people, and a mother who does too much for someone who does the barest minimum for the family and represses herself for the sake of others? An environment of deceit and suppression will be fostered, and you develop all of their qualities, for better or worse. That’s difficult to change when your own family dynamics molded you to be that way and then reward you for it. If you recall, Rachel’s mannerisms changed completely when in front of her family and if Chloe complained about having to play the goody two shoes formal well-behaved humorless girl, Rachel would say: ‘try doing it your whole life’. So not only was she playing different roles in school but evidently at home as well.

But It’s not as if the Amber family was aware of the toxic environment they’d created. That’s just what their normal was: to be well-mannered, formal, professional, mature and well-articulated.

This is where Rachel’s social chameleon tendencies develops. Social chameleons usually have reasons for blending in when it comes to personal relationships:

1. Being liked is important for them (they value what people think of them).

2. They want to blend in so as to not stand out (they don’t like attention).

3. They’re doing it to make the other person comfortable (the needs of others come first before theirs).

Considering how Rachel was extremely popular, active in all sorts of school activities and enjoyed the attention of being the star, no. 2 is out. She confessed to wanting to stop being a social chameleon and didn’t seem to care much about Victoria’s dislike of her + she also did it to her family so no. 1 is out as well, which leaves us to no. 3— doing it for the comfort of others. In other words, because she *gave too much shit about other people all the time*.

What further supports the point of Rachel’s unhealthy altruism is what she says to Chloe at the junkyard— (“Maybe you should try giving a shit about other people for once.”) —which essentially tells us that she’s been doing exactly that to be able to lecture Chloe into following her own perspective. Another example would be what she tells Chloe during their therapy session: “—Because she was tired of having to give so many fucks all the time.”

One thing however that all *extreme* social chameleons share is the fact that they **loathe** themselves, or at the very least— dislike who they are. Why else would they go all the trouble of creating different personas for everyone to the point of forgetting their own, if they actually liked themselves?

One of the many things that Chloe and Rachel shared in common was their self-awareness in how undeniably shitty they can be, and that they hated who they were. Whereas Chloe embraced that whole part of her down her self destructive road, Rachel tried to cover hers up by playing other roles for people. Both girls played their sides to the ends of the spectrum; Chloe being selfish (causing problems for everyone in general unnecessarily) and Rachel being selfless (posing no problem for anyone in general even if there was a problem). They had no healthy balance and their unhealthy mindset ultimately drove them down a self destructive path.

Rachel knew she was selfish by nature, and that she’d take it out on Chloe in Ep 1. That’s why instead of talking about what was wrong, she chose to drown herself to alcohol and distance herself from Chloe. When Chloe confronts her about it, she either tells her that not everything revolves around her or that she should try giving a shit about people for once. In other words, ‘Other people have bigger problems than you so shut up and don’t make it worse for them.’ That was Rachel’s mentality and in that moment of poor lapse in judgment, she applied that logic to Chloe expecting her to think the way she does— to put others before yourself.

With Rachel, she always had her walls up and couldn’t help it even if she wanted to because it's practically second nature to have her guard up (“I never said how dearly I hold thee; my habit's been to keep my soul well-draped.“). It’s only in her lowest vulnerable moments is when she finally let her walls down because that’s when she’s too tired to keep them up.

Luckily (or unluckily) for Rachel, she recognized her problem. The only thing is that she didn’t know how to solve them. She confided to Chloe about feeling like she doesn’t exist, but then backtracked and clarified she was talking about her dad instead when Chloe got too close to home. Even IF she was genuinely talking about her father, it doesn’t erase the fact that she believed there was a possibility she was going to become like him— because she already saw the signs and made the comparison between them.

Remember her infamous outbursts in Awake? Unlike Chloe, she’s the type who keeps everything bottled in until it’s too much. Seeing her father kissing another woman was the breaking point and that’s why she reacted badly. And then when she kicked that bin, that was equivalent to Chloe smashing up the junkyard. And then that scream. That scream was the result of years bottling her pent up frustration, stress, anger at everyone including herself. Because she did everything to make her family proud, to please everyone to the point that she felt so empty and hollow, only to realize that it was all for nothing because her father was destroying her family. It wasn’t just a betrayal from her father but a betrayal to herself.

And then there’s Chloe Price. The girl who is the total opposite of her, yet who she can somehow still connect with at the same time. While she cared too much about what others thought, Chloe gave absolutely no fucks. That was her most attractive and admirable quality for Rachel. So what does she do? She latches onto Chloe to do exactly what she knows best. Become the ideal version of whoever wants her to be. In other words, the Rachel Amber who would finally give no fucks.

Rachel was the closest to her truest self when she was around Chloe. Just as she brought life and hope back into the girl’s life, so did Chloe for her. Chloe broke the walls she put up, and she’d seen her vulnerable enough times to let her mask slip. Chloe saw her at her lowest, ugliest self even when she wasn’t doing her usual thing of keeping everyone around her happy, yet she didn’t mock or leave her for it. For the first time, she was selfish, and *still* Chloe came back. That was a BIG reason to trust each other for the both of them. And that’s ultimately what bonded them for so long— the fact that they could be the shittiest people on earth, yet still see the best in each other even if they only see the worst in themselves.

Chloe was the first one to see through her social chameleon act because she slipped, and she continued to let her unmask who she was because that night Rachel just didn’t care enough to hold up the act any longer. This detail of Rachel’s chameleon act slipping *only* when something was wrong is a vital part in understanding the context around her. The first time was when she witnessed her whole world crash, the second was when she realized she was becoming like James, and the third was when she discovered what a monster James was. The fourth— when she asked that trucker for a drive out and didn’t bother to be her usual social chameleon self. We may never know what happened, but something wrong was going on in Rachel’s life that she didn’t want Chloe to be a part of— because why would she put the girl who stuck by her during her darkest hours through her bullshit again?

But at the end of the day, that wasn’t enough. Chloe wasn’t enough. And that’s understandable because a teenager truly can’t and shouldn’t have to be responsible for someone else’s happiness. No matter what choice Chloe makes at the end of BtS, the truth inevitably gets out and leads to Rachel having a fall out with her parents. When that happened, she lost a big pillar of her support system which only leaves her with Chloe who’s another emotionally damaged teen that’s on the road to self-destruction. Chloe can’t help others without helping herself first. But still, who else is there to make them feel a little less shitty except each other?

After her fall out with her parents and her father in particular, she seemed to have developed a taste for men twice her age: Frank Bowers (32) and Mark Jefferson (38). Whatever the reason her relationship with Frank was, she still wrote him those letters and seemed to have cared for him to some extent. Not only was he the source for drugs for her very much needed escape, but he was also the man who helped save her life in one of her most vulnerable moments, and a possible lead to find Sera. It’s not that surprising she’d seek comfort and safety in his arms when he already proved himself once. But clearly it wasn’t serious because she was fooling around with Jefferson at the same time (and Frank knew they wouldn’t have lasted anyway).

Now, Jefferson. The devs confirmed that Rachel was in love with Jefferson and honestly, that’s the least surprising thing ever considering how he basically had the female population of Blackwell head over heels for him. Even Rachel wasn’t immune to that psychopath’s charm. He was a well reputable photographer, had the connections to propel her modeling career, was attractive and mysterious and apparently a damaged soul. He was the perfect one way ticket out of Arcadia Bay. He was her photographer and she was his muse. He was basically the perfect solution to her problems.

The girl clearly had deep rooted daddy issues and was ashamed of it herself since she couldn’t even share her secret relationship to the one person she trusted the most despite sharing her other relationships with her (except Frank).

This is where the drugs and partying come in. They’re a way for her to escape the bullshit in her life for a few hours. Chloe was what made her feel real, but the drugs and partying was what made her forget�� forget that her biological mother chose drugs and money over her (twice), forget that her own father was so despicable that he was planning to overdose Sera (this is what Chloe said in the silent dialogue), forget that her biological mother may just be dead somewhere because of James, forget that her own family was a lie, forget all the expectations placed upon her, forget that she herself was a lie, forget that she was so insecure that she had to seek warmth and safety in the arms of men twice her age, forget the guilt of knowing the girl who would die for her was still not enough, forget that at the end of the day all her problems is caused by her own mind and that her own fears had come to reality. And she hated herself for that.

But still, Rachel wasn’t a total junkie or outwardly self destructive to the point that she abandoned her studies like Chloe did. She didn’t let the drugs and partying dictate her life, hence the 4.0 GPA. After all, she still had a reputation to maintain. She was still the DA’s daughter, and getting into college was still a way to get out of Arcadia Bay.

BUT SEE, that was exactly Rachel’s problem. She could never choose which to be; The Problematic Junkie of a Disappointment (Sera), or the Golden Child (James & Rose) everyone expected her to be. She wanted to be as free as Chloe, but she also didn’t want to be a disappointment. She was tired of everything but couldn’t allow herself to fall because it was her nature to demand the best of herself for others as long as she could do it. But what happens when it’s your very own nature you’re going against? It gets really complicated. So instead of choosing, she doesn’t and becomes both. That was ultimately the worst decision she ever made.

Make no mistake, Rachel was an absolute idiot for being so indecisive. She could have easily solved her problems if she just finally gave no shit and did whatever she wanted to. But that’s the problem with people who’re labeled as perfect growing up. They eventually believe it and demand perfection of themselves. They care too much about everything because if they have the ability to be perfect, then why would you choose not to be? When someone is seen to be perfect, disappointment is 10x worse. Even Chloe was guilty of idealizing Rachel to be this perfect girl and was disappointed when she realized Rachel was just like everyone else who puts in hard work—(“Rachel's always made being an A student seem so easy. Almost sad to see all this... effort."), but it’s Chloe accepting Rachel for who she was despite no longer being the perfect girl she believed her to be that mattered.

With being seen as perfect usually comes with the assumption that your whole life is. Just as everyone invalidated her problems because she’s Little Miss Perfect with the perfect grades and the seemingly perfect family, so did she.

‘Cause hey, what does she have to be mad about when she’s a rich white girl who’s been given everything she’s ever wanted, right? (James basically said that). At that point the only problem Rachel had was that she was acting as the perfect daughter and perfect friend and perfect student at the expense of her own happiness, and then throw in the sudden slap in the face that it was all for nothing because her father was destroying the family she’d tried so hard to do proud.

But then again even if that wasn’t enough reason to spiral, it really would mess you up if your own father told you that your biological mother chose money and drugs over you, that everything you’ve done so far was all for a lie and worst of all, that your own father was going to kill your biological mother and there’s nothing you can do to change that. I mean really, I’m not a therapist or anything but I wouldn’t be surprised if Rachel’s mental health was suffering by that point.

I mean get this: she abused drugs and partied harder than anyone else and got wasted even though she knew they were wrong (Sera would’ve been a painful reminder), slept around with older men who undoubtedly took advantage and controlled her, continued to act like the perfect student and pretended to be someone she’s not just to keep everyone happy even though it was causing her to question her own existence— it’s almost as if she was punishing herself for continuing down that path.

Ultimately what Rachel was running away from was who she had become in Arcadia Bay. Once she’d be out, she wouldn’t be Little Miss Perfect anymore. She wouldn’t be the DA’s daughter. She wouldn’t have to keep lying. She would be able to start over. She would just be Rachel Amber, the nobody.

She cared too much in contrast to Chloe’s ‘I don’t give a shit’ attitude, and that’s why she still managed to maintain her perfect image even when she was already so broken. Whereas Chloe’s first instinct was to blame others, Rachel’s was to blame herself. Both never had a healthy balance when it came to accepting responsibility and that’s what connected them so well together.

Call it selflessness or selfishness or stupidity or melodrama, but at the end of the day Rachel tried to keep everyone around her happy, just like Max tried to do with her powers except Rachel used lies to do it. She was greedy and selfish, no disagreement to that, but she also tried to be selfless for most of her life. She was her own enemy and she demonized herself for it. And that got her murdered, thrown and buried away like the used rag doll she treated herself to be.

She was Chloe’s angel and Chloe was hers, but she was also her own demon. And there’s only so much two broken angels can do against a demon.

**TL;DR:** Idealizing her to be the Perfect Girl was what made her want to run away. Her family was what broke her. Desperation for escape was what killed her. Her family just *really* suck.

Now, I’m not trying to justify Rachel’s actions but merely rationalizing her character. I acknowledge that she was capable of being a shitty person at times, but just as Chloe had her issues, so did she, and so I choose to see them both for what they tried to be. Good hearted people just trying to make their shitty life a little easier. At the end of the day, Rachel Amber was a deeply flawed, insecure and emotionally damaged girl that pretended like nothing was wrong to forget about her troubles for a little, and was just dealt a bad hand in life. Literally.

After writing all of this, I realize that holy shit this girl was fucking complicated and a single post doesn’t do her justice nor explains her character properly enough. I thought it’d be simple enough to word it out, but then again, someone who was basically a junkie yet still managed to maintain her perfect reputation amongst her peers and the faculty is bound to be this complexed. Also as you can see I got very lazy at the middle of the elaborations and repetition has probably made this unnecessarily long but thank you for reading and finishing this overall confusing and messy essay.

Pumpkin!! 🧡🧡🧡 Hello, my dear friend, thank you so much for your endless interest & support!! 😍😍 And for giving me a reason to re-read GWTE, which I haven't done for a loooong time!! 😂😬 (But, the good news is, it low-key got me inspired to hurry up & finish it!! 😏) BUT - in the meantime - here's some BTS info from my re-read under the cut, which is a lot - fair warning - since it's a 4 chapter fic & counting!! ❤���

LOL I forgot how stressful it is coming up with names for random extra people in fics, I hate doing that LOL But I did think it was important to open with Red NOT being a merciless crime lord who kills anyone who displeases him, cause - while he does have that side to him when necessary - that's not who Red is or wants to be.

I liked including that little moment with Red & Dembe about the parallel parking. I love those father/son & brotp moments for them, they're just the best. I tried to sprinkle those in wherever I could in Red's POV in this fic.

I loved the mental picture of Liz - with glasses & beanie a la The Harem - just leaning casually against a bookshelf the first time Red sees her... & he's immediately captivated, just like in canon. Especially with her eyes, I can't NOT write any version of Red that is not completely blown away by Liz's eyes, I mean, come on I also thought it was important that he thinks she's much younger than she is (intentionally part of her persona) & I'm looking forward to writing the reveal of her true age in a later chapter.

I loved writing a Liz that instantly challenges Red, already having heard about him (& more than that, as revealed in chapter 2) & point blank telling him she may refuse the job bc she has a say too. I liked keeping - & even amplifying a little - that dynamic from canon!Liz of always surprising Red & keeping him on his toes, all while he's trying so desperately to stay ahead of her & impress her.

I LOVED writing the brush pass scene - that moment where Red realizes he has officially underestimated her - & LOL I completely forgot I wrote that part about the condom LMFAO wow past!Coda, mighty daring of you 😂😂😂

Plus, I couldn't help the bonus bit about her stealing his phone & tossing it to him to end the chapter, that was just so fun to throw in there!!

I liked opening chapter 2 with Red still thinking about Liz, just to show how she captured his attention, even before he finds out she's been stealing from him. And I liked writing that revelation without any anger on his part, with him understanding it wasn't a full-scale attack on his empire, she's just a thief taking well paying jobs where she can get them, & instead it just shows him how talented she is. I thought that was an important thing to clarify before moving forward.

I LOVED writing Red & Dembe surprising Liz in her apartment, especially the part with Red's snooping & being confused & surprised by what he sees there. I loved kind of creating/designing Liz's apartment to showcase her true self, not her "young thief" persona that Red falls for at first. I wanted it to be clear that Red is fascinated by her seeming duality from the start (canon LOL) as well as just straight-up attracted to her (also canon LMAO).

Also I gave Liz a loft apartment cause I've always loved those!!

And I LOVEDDD writing Red super confident about surprising her & looking forward to taking her off guard by settling in on the couch & all that macho man stuff, only to be rendered fucking dumbstruck when she comes downstairs with no pants on lmfao & I included that little detail of her usually wearing a knife on her leg to show she's not to be underestimated 😏 & I couldn't help but throw in there Dembe kicking the back of the couch, that made me cackle lmfao

I think the truce was important to establish asap bc I didn't want any secrets or lingering animosity between them. That's for canon 😒 Only flirting & sexual tension here, thank you very much.

I had to include Red being a gentleman & asking if she wanted to get dressed, but I also couldn't resist Liz being confident & careless about it, while still hiding tactfully behind the counter. I thought that was a cute exchange.

I loved the idea of Red being ready to start on a classic Red's Blacklister Presentation but Liz once again stops him in his tracks (while still secretly being impressed by his presence, of course, & I even accidentally switched POVs for no reason to include that?? nice Coda lmfao) as well as trading barbs & quips with him while Red feels awful & guilty at any accidental slights bc he can't bear to insult her.

I liked the little snippet of dark!Red we see in their conversation of consequences for his enemies, that way Liz sees a little bit of what he's capable of & Red sees how she's not phased by it.

And that last little flirtation & wink to finish the chapter - lol can't resist

Ooooh, I loved switching to Liz's POV (fully ha) for chapter 3, I enjoyed describing how head over heels she is for Red already, that was fun. I liked writing about her lil movie day & chores she's completed, as well as fleshing out her AU past a little with Sam & her young grifting experiences. And her burning her popcorn while daydreaming about Red cause... same 😏

Ooooh, phone conversations are always so fun to write between them, I love trying to get that perfect mix of joking & sincerity & flirting & pining & pressing the phone close to their ear.

I thought it was important to keep (or rather re-invent, since TPTB seemed to drop it like a hot potato 😒😒😒) Liz's intense interest & respect for psychology, especially as a reason for being attracted to Red, since it kind of mirrors one facet of his interest in her. Not to mention Red thinks at first that it's just a useless, do nothing degree for her LOL

Ohhh, I loved establishing that mutual respect & friendliness between Liz & Dembe early on, that's such a fave of mine, I've always loved their friendship & thought it had a lot of potential. Liz loves & respects Dembe for keeping Red safe & Dembe loves & respects Liz for being so dear to Red.

Ugh, I LOVED writing Liz so completely disarmed by Red's relative state of undress at his safe house (paralleling her pants-less parade in chapter 2, of course) bc sameeeeeeee girl.

I also had fun writing Red blabbing on about some story as he often does, meanwhile Liz has already picked the lock on the safe, once again impressing & surprising him while she admires his different passport pics. That was so fun.

And I loved the quick shift to just a little animosity between them with Red insulting her lockpicks & Liz flaunting her thefts from him. I think those little spats give a little electricity & tension to the relationship, even if they blown over quickly, which they always do. And the fact that Red apologizes & they shake hands & make up is very refreshing to me (since they never fucking do it in canon lol fml) & also it's an excuse to write a little teasing physical contact & sexual tension 😁😁😁

And damn, I forgot how fun it is to throw a little teasing jab in there at the end of a chapter, just for fun - probably bc I'm allergic to multi-chapter fics & never write them lmfao wow

Ahhhhhhhh. I remember how much fun I had writing this whole restaurant scene, partly bc it was a difficult & long process (trying not to make all the flirting & physical movements repetitive while fitting in all the necessary dialogue in a semi-non-boring way lol) but also bc it was so fun writing their back-and-forth while seated at a table alone with nowhere else to go & nothing to distract them. I also wanted to take the opportunity to show Red's genuine interest in her as a person & let them spend some quality time together for the first time. I loved the idea of them losing track of time & Dembe having to come interrupt them with a knowing smirk. Also I def referred to the Olive Garden website for the food they ate cause I'm lame lmfaooo

I thought it was cute to throw in that Liz almost couldn't find Red when she arrived but for the fedora marker he placed out for her & then when she's leaving, she can feel his gaze on her the whole way out. Little parallels like that are my guilty pleasure 😁

Omggg I forgot about the end of this chapter, I remember I wanted Red to surprise Liz yet again & I thought the dessert snuck into her bag was a cute touch. Plus, tiramisu is a favorite of mine 😋 I also tried to make the vibe of this phone call a little softer & more tentative, not so much on tender hooks with lots of tension as the previous ones have been, showing how they're getting used to each other & falling in love at a break neck pace lol

Welp, that's all 4 chapters that are posted buttttttttt a sneaky look at my document that I haven't opened for an embarrassingly long timeeeeeee shows my sketch for the rest of the fic which revealssssss....... a detailed 10 chapter map with an epilogue!! Wow, I forgot I sketched everything out in such detail, this isn't too bad, maybe I should actually write this 😂😂😂 And I promise I will, hopefully sooner rather than later!! ❤️❤️❤️

BTS American Hustle Life Ep 5

Episode 4 recap:  The first third of the episode was devoted to BTS doing chores; cleaning up their (absolute pigsty of a) dorm, doing laundry, food shopping. Afterwards they met the legend Warren G who took them on a tour of where he and a few other legendary rappers grew up. He comes across as a true gentleman and treats the band very nicely. His challenge was for each subgroup to write and record a song based on their lives. This allowed us to hear some of BTS’ thoughts about their experiences when joining the band. We (I) also learned more about each of the bandmembers personalities which hadn’t been so clear in previous eps and series.

All three groups came up with a great song and, while a tough call, Suga, V, and Jungkook won the challenge.

On to Ep 5!

So BTS is throwing party with Warren G; this will either be hilarious or a bit of a cringe fest lol but I’m glad Warren’s in a second episode 😊

Ooft that’s a fire and a half lol. Americans sure have got some bbq skills!

Aww poor Jimin wanting to get on with preparing the vegetables but Namjoon and V just keep eating them.

Lol at V challenging Jungkook to rock, paper, scissors and the loser has to eat an onion. Jungkook looks too calm and smug… and that’s why; V loses and has to eat an onion – and, ten seconds later, loses again. I wonder if it’s a running joke that V often loses at RkPS. These two are pinging me with a mix of brotherly and ‘partners in crime’ vibes.

Haha Jimin telling them both to do some work. He’s definitely coming across as more serious and hard working that in the first two series, bless him. Then he puts Jungkook in his place by beating him at rock, paper, scissors LOL. Jungkook is surprised!!

Jungkook and V then playing to see who the overall loser is and end up tying so they decide Jimin is the loser and make him eat some onion lol.

Oh my god, the sass from Jungkook rapping about Jimin being small (where did shy young Jungkook go lol??) and Jimin’s hilarious reaction of immediately trying to kick him <3 <3

Hahaha Suga and Jin trying to be sly about trying the bbq before the others and Jungkook calling Suga out on it. I love them getting Warren G to try Kimchi (Korean spicy pickled cabbage and other veg) and Warren G trying to act cool as the heat hits him.

Warren G asks about their lives and, wow, it seems that BTS spend a lot of time away from their friends and family. I get the feeling that even in Korea they work an awful lot and don’t get much down time. WTH? Jin has just admitted his family moved house quite a while ago and he hasn’t even seen it yet! That’s such a shame! It’s been 2 years since some of them have gone home?! OMG, that must be so hard, especially on the younger ones who might not have been ready to ‘leave home’ at that point. It’s clear they really do miss their families and some of them look close to tears talking about it, but I sense they don’t like to complain to the camera? They are such sweethearts and aww at Jimin saying he wishes he could take his parents to the nice places he gets to visit. Thank you Warren G for raising this topic and for talking about missing his own mother who died when he was in his 20s. You could tell that info hit some of them quite hard as many of them are close to that age.

So it’s a brand new morning, what’s in store for the band now? Aha, Tony is in to wake them all up. Jimin’s like a toddler in his crib excited to be greeted by his parent. Everyone else is like a teenager and needs to be crowbarred out of bed. LOL,at J-Hope being carried into the living room and plonked down on the sofa still half asleep. Double-LOL at Jungkook being woken up on the couch like a baby by Tony gently shaking a stuffed animal in his face lol.

Awww, bless them, they’re still half asleep – it’s like me when I’ve been reading fic till 4am and the alarm goes off at 9!

Right, so the new mission is to make a music video full of hip hop spirit and swag. Hip hop music videos normally include a super car, a mansion, and dazzling accessories.

Ahahahahahahahahahahaha, the tutors saying BTS’s videos are good but there’s not a lot of girls. From what I’ve seen so far there is a good reason for that Tony and N(ate?)!!!!! <flashback to the awkward-as-hell elevator scene in Rookie King and every other female encounter since>

Do I need to gird my loins For some potentially cringe-worthy BTS-female interaction in the near future?

Oh jeez Tony, you’re going to make BTS go out and find girls and talk to them. Even BTS are groaning at the thought LOL.  

OMG, Tony and N are teaching them how to ‘approach girls’ and getting the lads to practice on them. This calls for some computer analogies

Hahahahahahahaha oh Jimin – smooth right up to when he needed to start the conversation and then: the operating system has encountered an error and must shutdown. RM did well until he hesitated in the convo and: this application is not responding. The program may respond again if you wait. Do you want to end this process. Yes. Jungkook surprisingly didn’t spontaneously combust but clearly had no clue how to chat anyone up (at least at this point). I mean, just going straight to “I like you”: this program has performed an illegal operation and will be shutdown. Quit all programs, and then restart your computer. If the problem persists, contact the program vendor. OMG, Tony and N just outright saying that V is the dumb blonde of the group!!!!!! I don’t know whether to insulted on V’s behalf or grudgingly admire their honesty cos…they kinda have a *teeny tiny* point… at least that’s how V has come across so far – maybe this changes as we get to know him more. OMG V, “nice watch, how much?” That’s like from a really bad foreign marketplace parody. *face palm*, can any of these lads act naturally with a girl? V-can-flirt-like-a-normal-human cannot be found ~ if the device is OFF, turn ON the device. Suga… he clearly wasn’t taking it seriously; The instruction at BE NORMAL referenced at ‘HOW TO TALK TO WOMEN’. The memory could not be written. Click on OK to terminate the program. J-Hope: The application failed to  initialize properly. Click Close to exit the program. Jin: This version of flirting is not compatible with the version of swag you’re running.

Ahahaha them in the car trying not to fret about how they haven’t really “talked to girls” before. To be fair, this challenge is quite (embarrassingly) heterosexual (and mildly sexist) but, then again, this series was shot a number of years back and hip hop, IMO, used to be a low representatitve of LGBTQIA+.  I do wonder if any of BTS are gay though, and, if so, if they knew at that particular moment? I’m aware of how Korean society views homosexuality and I can’t imagine if any of BTS are gay they would come out either while in the spotlight or before they’ve done their national service. Not that they owe anyone a public “coming out” – I could write essays on this and how dangerous it is to relate a celebrity ‘coming out’s to that of the everyday person. They both come with some specific pros and cons that don’t translate well to the other situation and can cause all sorts of danger. Anyway, I’m rambling now so let’s get back to the episode!

I think the story V tells really sums up BTS’s “girl skills”; when we were trainees, Jin-Hyung, Jungkookie (omg what a cute way of saying Jungkook’s name <3) and I did rock paper scissors to go and at least talk to a girl. We just told her she was cute, patted her head and left.

So they are going out in teams to pick up their girls for the music video. That might take some of the pressure off. Awwww at J-Hope cuddling Jimin in the car. 

RM and Jimin are told to get out the car first – lol at Jimin saying he’s nervous.

Okay, so RM and Jimin’s attempt went about as well as I thought it would LMAO. V, Jungkook and Suga are just as bad. This is quite painful to watch. Ahaha Jin and J-Hope manage to convince a lady – although, again, it was quite painful to watch. It’ll be interesting to see how good their success was the next day.

BTS arrive at the mansion for their shoot (same place 50 Cent shot one of his videos) and immediately go into ‘wide-eyed wonder and playful’ mode.

V, my lovely, even when we give some leeway to mistranslation, I think you better leave the lyric writing to maybe Suga or Rapmonster lol???!!!

Jungkook’s running a self-cam – I get the feeling he quite likes filming and being behind the camera rather than in front of it. Amusing for an ‘idol’.

Lol, BTS talking about their back up plan if the girls don’t turn up. They genuinely don’t think they’ve actually managed to charm anyone into actually turning up and if by some miracle they do turn up then it’ll be awkward LMAO.

Cute little interaction between RM and Jungkook as they agree it’s all so unlikely.

HAHAHAHAHA one of Jin and J-Hope’s ladies turns up – the others can’t believe it! My sides are aching from laughing at their expressions. Oh but then V, Suga, and Jungkook’s girl arrives too. I really think these girls were planted on the street to help the lads out but I’ll pretend that it’s all real lol. Ahahahaha Suga *hiding* with RM and Jimin so he doesn’t have to interact with the ladies. This band really doesn’t have any chill with the opposite sex.

Aaaand at the last moment RM and Jimin’s ‘girl’ turns up. Isn’t that such a coincidence that one lady for each group turned up… lol.

Interesting little remark there from Suga. When they go back to Korea they won’t be able to shoot music videos like these (presumably with ladies, bling, and the excesses that go along with the style of hip hop) until they retire? So is he openly admitting they have to act conservatively – or at least in a very specific way – in Korea until they retire (or at least end their contract)? Or is it that they won’t have the same opportunities/monetary funds to do videos like these?

Yeah, okay, those ladies are too chill at seeing Warren G. In fact, they are way too chill altogether – they’ve got to have been staged lol. I just don’t think BTS knew this was set up. I’ve kinda come to the conclusion already that some of them couldn’t act to save themselves.

Shooting time – all quiet on set!:

V was just doing his thing lol, poor Suga couldn’t even look at that woman ROFL – Jungkook actually did okay even though he was embarrassed and bright red (and sweating lol). I wonder what Warren G was thinking as he watched from behind the camera – if he is anything like me he would have been sitting there cackling to himself. LOL at Jungkook eating away his emotions. He’s definitely become a typical growing teenager; always hungry like a bottomless pit and yet no calorie seems to stick to his sides!

V!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Again!!! *Outraged noises*. Teaching the lady “Jimin is dumb” in Korean, how dare you lol. Poor Jimin.

Hey, J-Hope’s got the swag and looks like he’s the only one. Jin looks like he’s about to shit himself *crying with laughter emoji*.

Jimin and RM are surprisingly confident with their lady too! LOL at RM for getting in the way of the camera and frustrating Jimin.

Ah-ha! – Jungkook having the guts to pat his eldest hyung on the head – he’s gained confidence in leaps and bounds!

Final musings:

Yet another enjoyable episode – despite being a little cringy in places. It was hilarious to see how shy and genuinely inept the band was around women. I can’t wait to see how the video turned out in the end.

Some nice, but also sad, insights into the realities faced by the band. Some of them haven’t been home in 2 years and as most of them seem to be quite close to their families it must be very hard – especially for the younger ones who might not have been ready to ‘leave home’ so early.

Really looking forward to the next episode!

LONG post in regards to whats being said about Lena.

Man, every time the CW post something about Supergirl on Instagram or Twitter people really lose their s**t for literally no reason.  

People saying that Lena is awful, they wouldn't watch a show with Lena in it, someone went as far to say they would rather die that watch a show with Lena in it??? OK.... Dramatic much? Yet here you are following the Supergirl page and knowing exactly what has been going on in the show because you use it for your arguments. Seriously sort your s**t out!

Also, I may get hate for this and I DO NOT CARE but im totally fine with Lena punching Kara in the face. Personally i think she’s asked for it. You can argue until the end of time that she doesn't deserve the punch for keeping her identity a secret, debatable BUT she absolutely deserves a punch in the face for being an arsehole to Lena and calling her a Luthor and then going to her best friends boyfriend and talking him into betraying her trust! Oh and then letting Lena vent to her about how this meant she would never trust Supergirl again, that was disturbing behavior, played off as an ‘oopsie’ moment. Personally Kara’s Jeckell and Hyde act with Lena has always been a bit disturbing to me, its not always funny. Just like in season 2 when she landed at L Corp with Superman and basically looked her nose down at Lena (re watch it). But a punch in the face is warranted. Punching someone in the face isnt akin to becoming evil!

Also why are people saying ‘I knew she would turn Evil!’ ‘Look what Lena is doing!’ erm... Lena hasnt actually done anything yet. A punch doesn't mean full on evil. Lena said she wants to inflict the same pain on Supergirl that she has caused her, now that’s interesting to me, because Kara hasn't actually inflicted any ‘physical’ pain on Lena and Lena even said she doesn't want to kill Supergirl. Now save for a much deserved punch in the face which looks like it takes place in a virtual world anyway, perhaps Lena is going to go down another route and inflict emotional pain on Kara just like Kara has inflicted it on her. Maybe this is why we saw BTS of Alex and Kara fighting, maybe this world is set up so Kara can experience everyone she loves betraying her in some way? The same way Lena feels she’s been betrayed? Im not saying that’s a healthy way to deal with things but the show would be boring if Lena was like ‘nah its cool’.Plus this is how Lena will see it, something she wouldn't be thinking if Kara had taken the time to explain things to her from the off set. to late now. 

Now i know what people will say ‘Kara has suffered so much and doesn't deserve more pain’ yeah... well Kara should have thought about that before inflicting pain on Lena who has also suffered enough pain in her life to. Kara having suffered doesn't mean she has a free pass to treat others poorly, who haven't actually done anything to hurt her or intended to hurt her at all. If Lena had been a nob and out to get her from day one then fair enough, but Lena has saved Kara’s ass/life many times and has never intended to hurt her, but s3 kara (who i wish i could forget) decided being an ass to Lena was OK. Yes Kara thought she was protecting Lena, but that excuse became null and void the moment she started revealing her identity to every Tom, Dick and Nia that she met! Kara is NOT a space puppy! Sure she has her cute adorkable moments but dont mix fan fic with reality. Kara is actually a very serious person who doesnt have all the answers, and doesn't always have a clear view of things. Remember it was Kara who basically told Jonn that there was no more alien hate anymore because SHE didnt receive it, the blonde haired, blue eyed hero of the city who looks human didnt receive hate so therefore it no longer existed. Now this isnt having a go at Kara, its to show that Kara isnt always right and doesn't always have a clear view of things.

Now, people are saying that Kara’s other friends didnt have a bad reaction to Kara admitting she was Supergirl so how dare Lena? OK, you guys are reaching pretty far now and you’re conveniently forgetting what has happened on the show because you’re too busy hating on Lena, so:

1. Winn didnt hate Kara the moment he learned she was Supergirl. OK, well first off, she wasnt really Supergirl yet, just an alien. Winn thought it was cool and wasnt upset she had lied to him? Well Kara keeping her identity from Winn didnt effect Winn in any way at all. There was no Luthor/Super history involved in Winn and Kara’s friendship.

2. James already knew, Clark took that decision away from Kara because he felt she needed a man to keep an eye on her. But this aside, James already knew Superman and was his best friend, he didnt ‘already’ know Kara. He knew who she was before she knew who he was! Again, him knowing her secret had no Luthor/Super implications.

3. Alex already knew and grew up with her. There was no ‘secret’ identity, she came to the Danvers as an alien and anyway Alex was NOT cool with her to begin with.

4. Mon El was also an alien, he wasnt a massive fan of Kara anymore than she was a fan of him. In fact Kara was the ass to Mon El rather than the other way around. It was Kara who referred to him as a ‘Daxamite’ more than once. Now, you could say they did have a history like the Luthor/Super one. Only it was Kryptonian/Daxamite, but the difference is Kara immediately told Mon El who she was, there was no pretending to be an alien from somewhere else or someone entirely different like she did with Lena. Kara knew Mon El was a Daxamite because of the beacon he sent, he didnt deny being one either. No his lie was being the Prince because he knew Kara would NOT have been OK with that. So he got involved with Kara whilst pretending to be something he wasn't. I seem to remember Kara being pretty miffed when she found out he was actually the Prince, only the end of the world was happening and she didnt really get a chance to deal with those feelings because she had to send him away. But later when he came back Kara had had time to process her thoughts on him, but she still told him EXACTLY what she thought of him. Mon El deceived Kara so he could pursue a relationship with her, Kara deceived Lena so she could pursue a friendship with her. Kara and Lena should have a choice in these scenarios because the respective ‘secret identities’ would have made them take pause. 

5. Jonn. already knew, nothing to argue here. 

6. Nia, Kara told Nia in a moment of solidarity because she to had ‘lost’ her sister, and apparently this was an OK reason to tell the girl you knew for 5 minutes who you are. Do you know who else had ‘lost’ a sibling and Kara has had many a solidarity moment with and who has saved her ass more than once and who she has known for longer than five minutes??? oh yeah LENA!! Anyway.... again, Nia had no reason to be miffed at Kara, she hasnt spent 3 years lying to her or pretending to be someone she wasnt and not fully trusting her. No Luthor/Super family drama or anything.

Lena is completely different, have a think about what would be going through Lena’s head. ‘Supergirl’ suddenly turns up at her office the moment she arrives in National City in disguise? Supergirl using this secret identity keeps coming back to Lena, using Lena to track down Roulette, to try and get info from her about her mother. Lena mean while keeps saving the lives of the aliens of National City (including Supergirl). Mon El leaves and Kara suddenly cuts Lena from her life until she once again needs her for something? Come season 3 and ‘Supergirl’ suddenly turns on her? All for having a substance she wasn't using to hurt her but to protect her friend Sam? Supergirl calls her a ‘Luthor’ and gets pissed at her for GIVING her the Kryptonite? Supergirl starts telling Lena what to do as though she can? Supergirl then uses Lena’s boyfriend to spy on her? Then suddenly  Kara is back and being her best friend again listening to all her vent about Supergirl? Lena goes out of her way to make sure Argo City survives and Supergirl is still later an ass to her because she decided to work with the substance SHE created because Supergirl doesn't approve? Supergirl is an ass to her when they are with Alex and its Alex who puts her in place, but Kara is still coming back to her as her bestie? Kara Joins her in trying to track down Lex and even lets Lena think that she’s been blown up? Lena then has the pleasure of being told by Lex of all people that Kara has been lying since day one and he even has footage?? Lena’s new ‘family’ all knew except for her, doesn't say much for Kara’s trust in Lena. If she hadnt already dumped James’ ass i hope she would now! She would probably be thinking ‘why did James pursue me? Was he sent told to keep an eye on me? Was Kara just sent by Superman to watch me? Did the gang befriend me for the same reason? Keep the Luthor close? This woman has been betrayed and deceived her whole life, not second guessing any of this would be the bizarre thing. 

But anyway, i agree that both Kara and Lena are right to feel the way they do. But i am more on Lena’s side. I get Kara’s reasoning up to a point, to begin with she wanted to protect Lena., but then she should never have become so involved with her if she truly wanted to keep her safe. Her reasons become null and void when she tells people she’s known for 5 minutes who she is without thought to their safety (Nia). She made the decision to be an arsehole to Lena and then use Lena’s relationships against her and called her the only thing she knew would hurt Lena the most. She then kept saying she wanted to tell Lena but allowed others (Mon El, Alex) to keep her from doing so to the point where it was to late. Kara’s reasons started out noble, but they went beyond to far. Especially since Lex and Lillian knew and Kara STILL didnt see a point in telling Lena, Lex got the opportunity to tell Lena because Kara couldn't step up. The moment she knew Lillian knew she should have had Jonn erase her mind or tell Lena herself. Kara doesnt ‘owe’ her identity to anyone, but she should think twice about how much she gets involved with or treats the people close to her that dont know. 

Also, it is a betrayal, the writers have said so and even Melissa has agreed she totally understands it. Not telling Lena her secret isnt the betrayal, its everything that came along with it, everything Kara did along the way. (though she could be talking to Eve)

They say the season is a ‘fight for Lena’s soul’ , personally i think being betrayed by Kara is a poor reason for Lena’s soul to be in danger, it doesn't say much for her. But that very statement implies that Lena hasnt gone full Luthor, Otherwise it would be ‘Lena’s soul is lost’. 

It will be interesting to see how Lena reacts to the rest of the super friends since back in season 3 she understood secrets that weren't hers to tell and to keep people safe. She knew Alex was DEO but kept it to herself and wasnt arsed abut it and she didnt on Sam to keep her safe. But knowing the writers they’ll forget this part of Lena’s personality and make her miffed at everyone. 

Lastly Kara may be the main character but that doesnt mean everything she does is right and she DOESNT have to be your favorite character.

hmmm i was in amsterdam and two days in london and the process was basically the same so the most important thing is to make few accounts for ticketmaster and use each one of them on different devices. like i made three accounts and use them on my phone pc and tablet and when two of them were still in line the other one got me tickets so it’s useful!! another thing is to never refresh when u wait in queue cause u will get kicked out so u have to wait even when it takes ages!! when u get out of the queue don’t pick seats on the map but just choose the option of the best available seat!!! this is the most important part cause u don’t want to waste any time and u want to buy it asap so just choose the best available one and just choose if u want a vip or not and that’s it don’t click and search on the map cause it’s a waste of time and it’s almost sure that if u click on the map u won’t get it. and get ur credit card info and all of that stuff ready and written before buying so u can put all that info fast!! and that’s bascially it like buying tickets is just pure luck .. i got all of my tickets just cause i got lucky and my friends got lucky so they bought like few tickets and sold them to me so maybe another good thing is to have friends that are also buying them cause there’s bigger chance that they will buy more and they can sell it to u !!!!!!!

Why are Kpop Predictions so... negative?

I'm not one to humor people who do Kpop Predictions (and for free? really? ya'll out here "spilling info/tea" about celebrities for FREE? IN THIS ECONOMY?). I just find them laughable/amusing because of how inaccurate they are 95% of the times, while toying with the fandoms' emotions. Creating unnecessary drama and stress about things that anyone with a common sense and logic could've predicted all on their own. But to give you guys an idea, here are a few by category:

#1. Twitter based Kpop Predictions

I’ve always had this MAJOR feeling that the great majority of them are run by THE SAME person on different accounts (kinda like how on Tumblr we're allowed to "manage" different blogs for whatever we may need 'em). Cause if you pay close attention they ALL share the same pattern:

SAME moon/crystal ball Icons

SAME way of "predicting" events ( *coughCOPY/PASTEcoughcough* )

They ALL go on hiatus at the SAME TIME and when they finally return they give the SAME excuse that they were depressed, drained of energy, mental blockage/migraine from predicting so much.

They throw shade at other prediction accounts and accuse them of "copying" them since they're "the original one."

They throw random predictions per day that never come true and when they don't and get called out its always the same excuse of "you choose what you want to believe" or "I never said it was gonna happen NOW, it could still happen in the future." (even after saying they would during the current year lol).

The great majority of these accounts are BIASED AF and mostly run by delulu shippers who tease the followers with incomplete information to keep ‘em interested.

🐍 Note: The one thing that I heavily dislike about these is that it's been proven in previous years that these accounts either work with or buy information from Sasaengs or insiders within the companies. Which is a big NO-NO in the Kpop community since Sasaengs are disgustingly invasive and have zero disregard for the Idol’s personal life and safety.

#2. Youtube Kpop Predictions/Tarot Card Readers, or as I like to call them: the "super-tragic-always-negative-BTS-are-gonna-disband-this-year-or-the-next-under-super-tragic-circumstances" accounts.

These youtubers  are known for spending and wasting 15-20 minutes of their videos (and viewers lives) doing self-promos and showing off the different card decks that they've just recently bought (as if the predictions change based on whether or not you're using a Classic Arcana or a Sailor Moon/Pokemon/YuGiOh with limited edition EXODIA & Shadow Realm included deck) And as mentioned above, ALL of them give super tragic/negative predictions, especially when it comes to BTS. Like I remember at the start of this year, there were around 10 (or more) of them saying that BTS would either disband in mid or near the end of 2019. 5 of them stated (in COPY/PASTE fashion) that 2 members would either abandon the group to pursue solo careers, or that 1 would leave and the other would be kicked out for either health issues or this super huge controversial scandal that would ruin BTS' or the member's image and something about "diva behavior" or that the same member was a huge bully towards the others (and annoyingly enough, all of them kept pointing to both Jin and Jimin for some strange reason). But as we've seen, 2019 came and practically went and BTS are still together, still thriving. Maybe one or two "dating rumors" here and there during their "time off" that died in a span of 1 month or so and everyone went on with their lives because it was found to be the product of antis wanting to start shit because everybody wants a BTS scandal (and of course, close to AWARD SEASON *LE GASP*).   So now those same "psychics" are correcting themselves and making up excuses that "they didn't have all the info" or "misunderstood it when they first got it". 🐍🐍 Note: I found it both hilarious and ignorant how the great majority of them are using the "members will start to leave one by one" as a sign of the group disbanding, when we know that starting next year they'll start enlisting in the military which is MANDATORY FOR ALL MEN IN KOREA. Meaning that all Male Korean Idols go through this process and DOES NOT necessarily mean imminent disbandment.

🐍🐍🐍 Extra: Oh yeah, can't forget that one account who said that all Kpop groups are part of the illuminati and they’re using some MK-Ultra shit on the fans through their music which is why fans all over the world now like Kpop and made it famous. Can't forget about those or someone will fight me. (The person deleted their channel too)

#3. Tumblr Kpop Predictions

*SIGH* .... where to start with this one....?

The group in this category is a strange hybrid between Twitter, Youtube and Wattpad/AO3. 'Cause i swear that some of the stuff I've read in a few of these account posts. while browsing for BTS. look like they were taken straight out of a super Angsty, Slow Burn, Hurt/Comfort, Soulmate AU, 30 chapters summarized into a oneshot fic. So you'll be either heavily disturbed or highly entertained at how creative the person is with their "reading". Like there was this one person who alleged that Jimin had been a woman in like 3 of his past lives, but was always involved in very abusive relationships (in 1 of said lives his/her father had r*ped him/her and Jimin gave birth to a daughter and  when the daughter grew up they both fell in love with the same man. And the daughter ends up killing Jimin to keep the man for herself LOL what kind of twisted A/B/O shit is this?!) and apparently its...affecting him in the present with how he treats others? And like... the only way for him to "break the cycle" is by "making peace" with his past selves? Or else he'll keep repeating it?

(y'know...like The Avatar).

This same person also said that the Maknae Line have a beef with the Hyung Line. And that Jimin was gonna kill himself this year or when BTS disbands next year, cause without the group he was useless/talent-less and it didnt matter if he did solo projects cause they wouldn't be as famous as the other members, plus his supposed "girlfriend" would leave him at the same time which is why he'll kill himself. Like....BITCH, WHICH IS IT? Do you want him to make peace with himself and live a long healthy life or do you want him dead?? MAKE UP YOUR MIND! Or better yet, just say you're a Jimin anti and go (cause she didnt have any probs with the other members, always targeted Jimin). Although there ARE exceptions, like another user who told this past-lives reading on how they all used to be 1 person who died and their soul got divided into 7, and the 7 of them always managed to find one another on each and every one of the lives they've lived through (like the HEARTBEAT mv). That one was nice.

In Conclusion....

I just feel bad because of how ignorant and gullible the Kpop fandom in general has become in the past years (Especially the newer fans who don’t understand how Korean culture works, much less the Korean Entertainment Industry). To the point of giving these people clout when in reality they’re just taking advantage of them because they know how thirsty and obsessed some fans can get in their need to know MORE about the artists/group they stan.

The two had arrived at Jeongmi’s new room, because college dorms were way too expensive. And lucky for her, there was a Min Jisol who was looking for a roommate.

“I’ll bring your stuff around later, ok?”

But in his defense, Jungkook believed he had the right to be worried about his little sister. Because he was pretty darn sure he knew exactly how her roommate was: the infamous Min Jisol of Daegu Town High School. She was the girl that everyone warned you about. It was obvious she smoked because she always coughed as if she had smoker’s lung and could literally collapse at any given moment. And Jesus Christ, she always smelled like goddamn alcohol! She always seemed as if she had tried to get the stank of alcohol off, but in the end she miserably failed and the smell basically radiated off of her. But of course, can’t forget that she was always late and skipping class. The problem? She never got in trouble for it. To top it all off, she graduated as valedictorian. Combined with her popularity amongst the boys for her looks, it was no surprise when the gossip train tooted about Jisol sleeping around with the administration to get straight A’s. Hence, she was basically the queen of the school in all aspects. Despite all the obvious warning signs, people loved her. Earning her the nickname, Harley Queen.

But Jungkook was barely any better and he knew it. His reputation wasn’t exactly spotless since he hit high school. Puberty had treated him very kindly, earning the attention from all the girls within the school district. Especially at sport competitions. And every so often, a girl would ask to speak to him somewhere quiet. Alone. Like a lost lamb, he would follow. He never did anything, didn’t even touch them, yet the gossip train tooted that Jungkook had a knack for quickies and breaking the girls’ hearts once he was done with them. Because of this one fact, Jungkook had begrudgingly agreed to let Jeongmi room with Jisol. Maybe she was just another victim of the gossip train, just like him.  Or maybe it was just his grudge against her for… a number of reasons.

“Ok… bye Jungkook!”

“I’ll bring your stuff up in like, two hours ok?”

“Uh-huh. Goodbye!”

Obviously, Jeongmi was super embarrassed that her brother was basically dropping her off at her first apartment. And she didn’t want to make a bad first impression, so she did everything in her power to shoo him away. But as soon as the door opened, Jeongmi was shocked by the girl’s beauty in front of her. All of her doubts disappeared into thin air and she found herself bowing awkwardly.

“Hello, my name is Jeongmi. It’s really nice to meet you!”

But Jisol was already busting a lung with laughter.

“You are so cute!! But anyway, you don’t have to act so formal around me. We’re roommates now Jeongmi. As you probably know, my name’s Jisol and welcome to the apartment!”

Despite having only met once or twice, Jeongmi already felt the bond forming between them.

“Do you need any help bringing your stuff up or anything?”

“Actually, my brother is bringing up my stuff in a couple of hours.”

“Girl, that’s honestly sibling goals. My brother would tell me to suck it up and be independent like all the girls in the world preach about.”

But now, Jeongmi was confused as hell. How in the world did Jisol have such awful rumors circulating about her? She was honestly one of the sweetest, most wholesome Jeongmi had ever met. But for Jisol? She was just over the moon that there was someone who was willing to give her a clean slate and actually get to know her. Not try to kiss up to her just so she could be referred to one of the guys. The reason everyone thought she was a slut was that most of her friends were guys. Mostly because the other girls at school were entirely too judgemental. And super bitchy.

“Feel free to explore, Jeongmi. Lol, you don’t have to be so nervous. You kinda live her now?”

And Jeongmi was like, why the hell does it literally smell like freaking daisies? Smoker’s lung, my foot! There wasn’t even the slightest whiff of smoke or alcohol anywhere. That’s when the knock came faintly. Which Jeongmi barely heard.

“Hi, I’m Jungkook, Jeongmi’s older brother. I came to drop off her stuff?”

Already, Jungkook was gaining attention from the neighbors. Mostly because the apartment was a hot spot for college kids who couldn’t afford or didn’t want to live in a dorm.

“Unnie, do you mind if he comes inside? Because there are literally people crowding the hallway just to stare at him. And it’s kinda gross?”

“Yeah, of course! Come on in.”

See, Jeongmi was totally clueless to the history between Jungkook and Jisol. They had been rivals at everything, all the way up until high school. But that was a different story. Sighing, Jisol let him in, promising herself to be civil for Jeongmi’s sake, if not hers.

As for Jungkook, he was surprised to see the two three-star black belts hanging in the open closet and the sheer amount of beat-up medical textbooks on the kitchen table.

“Do you want anything to drink?”

“Uh, no. I’m good actually. But thanks.”

And he was 100% surprised at how well Jisol was keeping her cool. Taking the heavy box from him, Jisol gave Jungkook a tight smile.

“I  can help Jeongmi unpack if you have somewhere you need to be.”

But Jisol knew that look in his eyes all too well. There was no way this could be the apartment of the Harley Queen, right? There was no way that the Queen would actually be reading and studying to get good grades, right? She had to be hiding the booze somewhere, right? The drugs? The weed? The cigarette packs? And Jungkook understood the tone of dismissal in her voice all too well.

“Then I’ll be going then. Bye, Mi!”

But as Jungkook made his way down to his car, he couldn’t but think of the little collage of Jisol’s baby pictures on the wall. One of them was of the two of them holding hands as they crossed the street. Groaning out loud, Jungkook looked towards the sky.

“STOP BEING IN MY LIFE MIN JISOL!!!!!”

Why was his life so intertwined with Jisol’s?!! On top of already being entangled with every aspect of his life, why was she his ex-girlfriend from preschool too?!! He thought he’d erased his memory of her a long time ago!!

When Jungkook got back to the house, he wasn’t surprised to find Yoongi watching TV on the couch.

“So… how did it go?”

“I mean, Jeongmi seems to really like her, so I guess that’s all that matters.”

Shaking his head, Yoongi sat up straight.

“But I asked what your thoughts on Jisol are?”

“She’s… a lot different from what I expected.”

“How so?”

“She seems a lot more… put together than everyone takes her for. There’s not a single trace of cologne, smoke, drugs, or alcohol in there. I honestly have no idea how the hell these rumors formed about her. She seems really nice.”

“Well… she has changed a lot since high school ended. Plus, the rumors are mostly my fault. But I thought you were-”

“What are you talking about, hyung?”

“There’s a lot of things you don’t know about me, Jungkook. However, this story isn’t entirely mine to tell, so it’d be a tad unfair if she weren’t here to explain the entirety of the situation.”

“But-”

“No.��

Grumbling, Jungkook made his way to the shower. He knew where he stood among the seven guys as the youngest: at the top. But when it came to Yoongi? That was all null and void.

“YAH JUNGKOOK-AH! JOONIE HAS A MISSION FOR YOU, JIMIN, AND TAE!!”

Jin yelled through the door, banging on it to disrupt the peace of the hot, running water.

“Ok hyung! I’ll be out soon! BUT YOU BREAK THAT DOOR I SWEAR-”

“BYE!”

But why was Tae coming on this mission? That almost never happened. He was the one who usually stayed back to work the comms and get all the inside info that was necessary to send to whoever was out in the field. But if he was coming, Joon-hyung’s mission for them had to be insanely top priority if Tae was coming out to play. 10 minutes later, the boys were seated on the floor in front of Joon.

“Does everyone here know Song Yuri?”

“Yeah. We’re all in the same biology class.”

“Well we just found out from our spy that Yuri is actually the heiress of the Ahn Empire in Daegu.”

“Wait… aren’t they the ones-”

“Who created a memory implanter and have passed down some secret through generations, using it?!!”

“Yes, that one. And if everyone else knows, then everyone is going to be gunning for her. She’s dating one of the NCT boys so we have to be careful. From what we know, she’s close with all of the NCT boys so we have to be careful. The reason I chose you three is because you have a subconscious memory of Yuri’s behavioral patterns So please bring her back alive. Got that?”

“Good. We’ve also got word that it’s one of the Dreamies’ birthdays today so they’ll be vulnerable. I will take the other hyungs to take them out, ok?”

personality wise she’s v sarcastic. sometimes blunt. kind of has a habit of…. assessing a person n she’s quite perceptive bc she’s been trained to b by the way she always has to monitor her dad’s expression fr the slightest emotion change. she’s quite confident n can p much mke a conversation out of whatever. sort of independent too like she hs a bunch of friends bt she doesn’t care abt going out places alone if she’s in a certain mood n jst wants…… to get into chaos. she’s probably kind of known around campus/town bt itd b a 50/50 balance between bein known as intimidating n bein known as that one girl tht always gets into anarchy

Group videos

Jo Kwon dating advice for trainees - Jo Kwon (of 2AM) was their senior at Bighit and features a lot in these videos. He's a great person and is outspoken on LGBTQ rights; and he’s still friends with Namjoon and Hoseok. That's all just context anyway but this is like a very funny? sad? video??? BTS have said they don't have a dating ban but it's obviously a trade off they have made to either not date at all, or date so privately that no one knows, bc that's just... how it is in this industry sadly.

Jo Kwon - I'm Da One MV is super colourful and entertaining and features MANY trainee Bangtans as back-up dancers and extras.

BTS cuts version just focuses on the Bangtans, if you can't spot them in the original MV (some of the cameos are blink or you'll miss 'em).

GLAM - Party (XXO) MV - Bighit's girl group could've been a contender but scandal took them early on, and Bighit ended up sending all their girl trainees to their partner company Source Entertainment (at least one of whom would later debut in GFriend).

Yoongi's "Hit It" rap battle in 2010 vs Choi Ikje (i11evn) - he came 2nd, but both were accepted as trainees.

This section is by far the longest and I know I’m biased - but also, there’s a lot of Hoseok footage out there thanks to JYP auditions. 

2009 Hoseok - there's many videos purporting to be pre-debut Hoseok, from his street dance days with the Neuron crew or from his time at the Joy Dance Academy in Gwangju. Anyway. This is one of those.

This last video is a fascinating look at the JYP audition process in the end stages. As described on one blog post:

“what happens in JYP general/open/public auditions is that they go thru like a general audition (submit paperwork + audition video). If they like you they ask you to come in and see you live, interview you to make sure you don't seem like you have a major personality problem, then the ones selected from that, get put into teams, and are told to practice together for a week or so. Then they do this show case type of thing, and from this, the first-second-third place kids are auto acceptances into the official trainee program (ie. they sign a trainee contract), and maybe a select couple are also invited to become trainees if they are thought to have a lot of potential.”

This particular showcase included many future idols including B.A.P. Youngjae, BTOB Sungjae, Halo Dino, Hotshot/Wanna One Ha Sungwoon, and Twice Jeongyeon.

Anyway as we know Hoseok wasn't accepted into JYP, and ended up with Bighit instead.

Watch the Animal stages for glam!Hoseok. It's super interesting to me that Hobi, who was recruited as a dancer and not a rapper, was the first (and only) of the Bangtan trainees to get a pre-debut feature, and with it the experience of doing music show stages and at least one music festival - probably because he was the most stage-ready trainee at this point. 

Jungkook

Audition for Superstar K when he was just a bb! He didn't make it through, but this was the famous audition that saw him receive offers from a variety of agencies including JYP, Starship and Woollim. He chose Bighit because of Namjoon... 

Jungkook pre-debut dance practice in LA - his dancing was criticised for not showing enough emotion so he got sent to train in LA. He even thought about becoming a dancer rather than an idol after that... His diary entries from that time are super cute.

17 Seventeen!

Under the cut because I have some followers that don’t want it on their dash.

So...

I like Seventeen now.

When I first got into BTS at the start of the year my friends said “OMG you like K-pop now? That’s amazing! Now let’s just introduce you to 17...” and of course I said that I didn’t want to get into too many groups because of time and commitment and being unable to recognise seven faces much less 13. But three more groups later (I got into Tomorrow By Together as most people know me for and AB6ix as well as low-key Blackpink) I decided to check them out.

Process:

1.Home:

Okay so I found and listened and watched ‘Home’ because it was at the top of their youtube channel and was the first song that my friends recommended. It is amazing. 

Purely on a choreography scale it is beautiful, I was following Wanna One for a bit because of Daewhi and Woojin and no offence but some of their stages were really messy, they seemed all over the place and choatic with no one in sync, but I assumed that it was inevitable to come with a big group. I was wrong. Seeing Seventeen dance was amazing, the way they are arranged, organised, the SYNC. 

At the bottom of the video in the comments I saw someone say they were a new carat and someone else told them that they should watch the 17 debut project. So there I went.

2. 17 Debut project

IT. WAS. TORTURE.

AND. HEAVEN.

AT. THE. SAME. TIME.

I loved everything: their dynamic was really cute, their family bond was so tight, they are all practically married with literal RINGS to prove it, and I thought that their talent and passion really shone. But they kept failing. Over and over and it was painful to watch them try really hard and practice through the night to just be beaten up about not delivering. 

Can I just say though, the last episode with their parents? BEAUTIFUL.

IT WAS SO TOUCHING AND SWEET AND CUTE! And how they all just started crying, and hugs and everything? It was so right? That their rings, items that they fought tooth and nail for over the past few episodes and before they became official, an accessory that meant so much to them that at every opportunity their only goal was to get them back and they were heartbroken at the thought of not having them returned, that they would be returned by their parents?? It was so sweet! I loved how they went and hugged the parents of the other members as well. But when they performed ‘Shining Diamond’ they all had huge smiles on their faces, and there was like NO PRESSURE. Seungkwan just went up there and cried during his bit with no guilt because these were their parents. And they weren’t going to berate him or say he failed and just that relief is so amazing after the stress of the show.

3. Introduction videos

Okay so maybe I watched the intro vids before the debut project but hey who’s keeping track. When I first got into BTS I watched introduction videos. It helped a lot, not just for getting to know the members but also with fitting into the fandom, a piece of knowledge that I couldn’t use for TXT or AB6ix as I was with them when they first existed. But I could watch intro vids for SVT. 

First one I watched was bluergh. There was a pic of them with some basic info like birthdays and heights then some footage of them performing, which was confusing since I couldn’t recognise who was who anyway. Was thinking of giving up trying to get into them.

Second one: perfect. All of the info and charms that I needed, I fell in love and if not for that introduction video I might not have stuck with SVT. Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eCbX5-rBDQQ because if you want to get into seventeen this might help.

Also Ask In A Box was helpful because it showed each member clearly. 

4. Bias time

I had this huge thing with TXT where I didn’t have a Bias and wanted to stay impartial forever but eventually Choi Soobin stole my heart with the rest still maintaining very special places as well. The point is, I had a bias from the second I saw them. 

WOOZI CAN TAKE MY HEART AND SOUL I DON’T CARE AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH

Woozi. I now know his birth name is Jihoon. He is so smol and squishable and cute and caught my eye the second I saw him. He looks like he might be a more introvert type and from what I know he doesn’t like to go out much, is hard to wake up, doesn’t like skinship when he cannot control it, and I love him. It largely helps that he is an AMAZING songwriter/producer and I am weak for idols who can create their own content. He is kind and smiles a lot but has a lot of burden and put a lot of emotion into his songs because he finds it hard to express it outwardly. He also looked amazing in that cute little ponytail in the debut project and with the lemon yellow hair. 

ALSO WOOZI HAS THE VOICE OF AN ANGEL FITE ME

He, on top of being an OUTSTANDING producer/songwriter, keeping up with dances impeccably, looking absolutely adorable and aparently being able to play several musical instruments, can sing like an angel.

I downloaded some of his songs when he’s singing live. I hate downloading songs like that, they’re messy, have a lot of background noise, bad quality and annoying to listen to. But when I heard him sing ‘You and I’ while playing an acoustic guitar like a PRO then I legit fell in love. How can someone be so amazing???

He isn’t perfect, but I think that it makes him even more endearing. 

The point of this? Well if you’ve read this far then hopefully to either convert some non-carats or help out new carats by sharing some content that sold Seventeen for me, but mostly just to rant. I usually rant to my friend that is also into the same K-pop groups that I’m in, but said friend doesn’t want to get into Seventeen because they don’t think they can trust that they can casually like them while maintaining a healthy everyday life, which I respect. So this is mainly just to rant all my feelings out about Seventeen and Woozi in particular so that I won’t burst and let it all out to my friend instead. 

Also Woozi is so cute and needs love but fortunately has 11 members who appear to casually overwhelm him with kisses randomly? I also low-key ship him with Scoups or Hoshi but it is still early days yet. I know not everything I say now is prolly true and I am a new Carat so take everything with a grain of salt if you are new or go easy on me if you ain’t.
