I like the idea that Cross realised Killer was touchstarved (he didn't have the words for it but he noticed how much Killer would settle down from it) and started giving him very small basic affection. Pat on the back, hand on the shoulder, maybe a quick friendly hug, all things he probably learned through royal guard training and thinks of as normal friend/coworker stuff.

But as they both got more comfortable in the routine of it, Killer started instigating touches and he was not shy about it (like not just leaning into Cross's side during movie night, he looks like he's trying to get into Cross's jacket with him)

And that this more intense affection made Cross realise he might also be just a little bit touchstarved

Something I really like about timebomb is that Ekko actually knows what he's getting into.

I'm not really seeing it get talked about but in season 1 they mention that Ekko and the firelights help people addicted to shimmer get off it and lead more fulfilling lives within the community. I should probably rewatch the scene for the exact wording (might be misremembering tbh) but that comment implies A LOT.

First: Ekko's mission is helping people where he can, he would probably try and help Jinx even if he wasn't in love with her

Second: He has experience dealing with severe mental illness as that often goes hand in hand with drug abuse, namely depression/suicidal ideation like what Jinx was exhibiting

Third: He's probably mapped out best course of action FOR dealing with this and has already figured out his own limits/boundaries. Meaning he knew what he was getting into trying to talk Jinx out of suicide, and was thus more equipped to deal with the aftermath

Fourth: He's probably helped ex members of Silco's gang. The firelights seem to have a theme of healing and repairing and recovering, so they've probably also learned to forgive. If they're mission is to rebuild the lanes into a safe space, they can't exclude people they don't like, they have to make room for them. I think they fought Silco out of necessity, and I doubt Jinx would be the first person they help who's killed one of them.

These all might be a bit of a stretch but I think it really fits. Beyond that, it shows that Ekko can ACTUALLY help Jinx. As much as unconditional love can do, Ekko has the tools for Jinx's recovery and a path ready for her. He also probably knows that her "healthy" will look different from AU Powder's "healthy." On top of that, I expect he knows how to respect her even in the middle of psychotic breaks and won't agitate her already frail mental state

Yesyes, I feel like Killer would challenge Delta's boundaries a lot, too. Not always straight up crossing them. But then again Killer would probably do that with pretty much everyone, Color included.

It's probably something he did back in Nightmare's castle with Nightmare and the MTT as well. Probably one of the reasons why they'd all settle on the fact that Killer's "annoying".

While drawing this I was also thinking about Killer and Chara. I really want to learn more about these too but because Chara was a child that grew up with Toriel, they probably didn't use curse words all that much when around Killer, because that's what they were taught and it's something that stayed even after they died. And Chara being one of Killer's "role models" for a while, they probably didn't teach Killer to swear.

I don't think he'd swear all that much, not that he wouldn't be able to, of course he can. Maybe he'd consider that a waste of words.

I also got too lazy to actually change Killer's words or the scenario because most of that came up in my head when I was nearly done with the drawings.

3rd Division grown-ups having a few drinks too much at the christmas fair. (at least Kafka and Nakanoshima had)

I dunno.. it came to me and I did not stop myself, what else can I say, cause.. what better time draw my personal headcanon of overly-freezing Hoshina than christmas, plus sprinkle a bit off overly attacked Kafka on top to enlighten myself, right?

And I am not used to draw the other platoon leaders plus Okonomi, so they look especially weird, but 'm still glad I managed to give em a try as well!!

So maybe they DID went to an awfully european looking christmas fair and had a drink, and Hoshina didn't catch the time right and had to hurry and come in work clothing, and maybe it was awfully cold, and he already did borrow Kafka's scarf, but was still freezing, so said Kafka aka. the Kaiju-termal-walking-radiator, also aka. Mr.-Had-a-few-drinks-too-much is helping out to keep the second best fighter of the 3rd Division from death by cold for the sake of the country that is of course..? And Nakanoshima would be weeping so hard in simp-girl-style, and Kafka would make so much fun about how drunk she is(while not being any more sober of course) and all the others would cringe the shit because of them.. And Hoshina.exe just stopped working because of all the internal screaming, wether the not-freeze-anymore part is actually reason enough for everyone around to justify him not stepping out of the situation. Also Okonogi is wailing cause she explicitly told him about the appointment, plus offered to get warmer clothes for him, but he refused since that would mean she's had to leave only to get him stuff. And Nakanoshima "whispers" to herself that she can't wait to get a picture of them for the 3D BL, and everybody is looking at her like wtf u talking about drunk woman, and that's when Ikaruga's looses it. And Mina? Mina is having the time of her life, enjoying all the good time they're having :) (plus already made a selfie with all of them in the back in secret)

Yeah...that's my weird thoughts around christmas, this is the stuff I am thinking about. Very merry, I know.... XD

I found a place to stay that inspires me like nothing did in over a decade, and I am utterly grateful for that. As much as others might say, this is "just" fandom/social media/internet/not RL, this is all very real to me, and simply made me feel better in times I was low or struggling. And this also was the start to switch my own mindset of what I love and what I want to do, what I perhaps can do, and therefore the time on this site and with you guys was very special to me so far.. :)

I've been seeing a lot of posts lately talking about how no one comments/reblogs/replies/etc anymore, and, as someone who comments regularly on a lot of fanworks, it sometimes makes me wonder if my efforts are worth anything. Then I remember how much happiness I get from comments on my own work/posts and how much the community of fandom can matter, and I remember the power that can be found in spreading joy instead of disappointment.

So -- to everyone who comments on fanfiction: thank you. You make the writing process worthwhile and so very rewarding. You make people happy every day.

To all the people who reblog art and gifsets and meta and anything else with enthusiastic tags: thank you. You make people smile and promote interesting conversations and make being on Tumblr so much more fun.
