ok so like the chapter starts off with jude and ellis beatin some dudes ahh bc breach of contract. ig thats sorta like the prologue so to speak.

since jude is an act 2 route, vogel is featured in here. darius is like “hmm jude jazza huh. p interesting. nica” and nica comes in like “yeah you want me to look into him? sure, im interested in him too (/p likely)”

its revealed that since her time as fairytale keeper, kate had accompanied basically everyone on a mission? except jude and ellis. ellis wants to accompany her tbf but judes like tf hell no.

needless to say, kate has…less than positive first impressions of jude.

but she finally sees some light when harry gives her a memo telling her to go to the pub at 22:00 bc there’s gonna be a mission with jude and ellis. but turns out by the time she gets there, the missions already done and rogers there at the pub lmao

kate goes to jude whos smokin in the back like “you lied to me :(“ and jude kinda doesnt get all that fazed abt it like “never told ya the mission would start at 22:00.” he reveals that basically he hates it when its all like the “lets all get along” sorta gist yk.

then they have like this back and forth thats smth like “no point in being liked bc i got no gain from that.” “does that mean youre ok with being hated?” “what, do ya wanna be liked by everyone?” you get the point. they just do not. see eye to eye. like at all.

and so, we come to this point where kate makes a promise with him like “i’ll find smth i like abt you by the time my tenure as fairytale keeper ends!” (this is around where the first cg is, which btw is called the first promise we made was wrapped in white smoke)

Jude: Hah, alright then. if ya goin’ that far then do what ya want.

After our back and forth, like walking on eggshells, i finally succeeded in getting him to say those words.

Kate: Okay! Then I’ll do just that.

I used my hand to wave off the smoke that seemed to separate us two and took a step toward him, when…

Jude, while veiled in the white smoke, laughed with scorn.

I'm having so much thoughts about Chainsaw Man part 2 rn- dunno what else to do with them other than dump them here after the latest chapter just dropped.

Also this is all just MY thoughts and how i see it, is okay if you don't think i'm right or if you want to add your own take, it keeps things interesting tbf.

Yoru, the war devil.

I just gotta say after this chapter i loved Yoru's character even more, even though i am still pretty resentful for what she did to Denji on that alleyway — which i am not going to talk about here btw—, i gotta say that Yoru being the Gun devil's mother is something that really got me thinking.

We all know that in part 1 the main focus was the Gun devil to a certain point before it all went downhill because of Makima, which only adds another layer of significance for Yoru being the Gun devil's mother.

Yoru clearly CARES about the Gun devil and Tank devil, she cares enough how to NOT turn them into weapons to fight Chainsaw Man at first even after constantly insisting of wanting to defeat him. Sure you could argue is a different type of care and not an actual attachment, after all the few horsemen of the apocalypse we've been introduced to were all pretty much selfish and apathetic to others who didn't had any kind of usefulness to their plans.

Makima wanted Pochita so she used about everyone that Denji cared and got rid of them, Famine most likely helped kill Nayuta to get Denji to snap so Black Chainsaw Man could appear. These were all acts made out of cold blood for their own benefits one way or another, even more we could add that Makima basically killed part of her family, the Gun devil and forced them to become a fiend just for Denji to kill them again. And if Fami really had something to do with Nayuta's death she also killed part of her family without a hesitation.

It's enough to say that Yoru turning her children as weapons now and not long time ago is more of a last resort than out of care for them. But let me also add something to the picture:

She said it. It requires guilt to create a powerful weapon. I don't think is just how powerful the devil might already be but also the amount of guilt Yoru might be feeling for turning said devil into a weapon, in her conversation with Asa she also states that her comrades were all eaten by Chainsaw Man with a look that to me just says that she cared for said comrades to an extent, just enough to make Chainsaw Man vomit them back.

But then again she said the way she could beat Chainsaw Man was by creating two powerful weapons, more than the ones Asa already makes: because they are made out of sheer guilt and attachment.

Even if there was a possibility she wasn't using ALL of her children's body for the weapons there was still the risk of them never recovering from her actions, so it adds up to the guilt for Yoru. We could also make it a possibility that in part 1 the reason why the Gun devil attacked Pochita in the first place was to protect their mother, since we already know that Chainsaw Man ate part of war before in order to weaken her and probably that's when her children come into the scene. Plus we know Makima was also trying to fight him for his attention at that time, so he was basically just jumped by a good bunch of powerful devils.

Sure he gets back up everytime but we already know he's not able to entirety win right away when there's more than one powerful enemy going against him, so at some point he must have been actually defeated and that leads to the whole beginning of part 1.

Probably from that point on when Pochita mets Denji a whole bunch of stuff was happening that we don't know, like probably Makima deciding to use the Gun devil as a way to get close once more to Chainsaw Man or Yoru having to take time to recover while thinking of a way to defeat Chainsaw Man.

You could also say that the reason why the War devil might feel guilty for using her own children as weapons is because she's using Asa's body at the moment, since Yoru already stated that she could feel the same things Asa feels. There are frankly many valid points to believe Yoru doesn't actually feel guilty or attached to her children in any way other than just ownership, after all another requirement for her to turn things into weapons is that Yoru has to believe they are hers.

But would you really look at me and tell me that she doesn't actually feel anything to her children at the moment of this conversation?

Even Asa calls her out asking if she couldn't just have turned the Gun devil and Tank devil as weapons before, even more she brought up the fact that Yoru could just chose to not fight Chainsaw Man at all, after all everyone already started remembering war enough, right? No need to keep chasing after a goal that probably won't make her happy in the end, with a bigger repercussion...

Except that she doesn't. This is a mix of competitiveness and survival, the War devil KNOWS that Chainsaw Man could easily defeat her if he actually wanted to and almost did so, he managed to eat part of her and weaken her once. Nothing could guarantee her that she is "safe" from him, besides it already is pretty obvious she wants to win against him for real, she wants him down and gone not just kill him once but the next moment he's alive again.

She's a horsemen of the apocalypse, yes, one of the most powerful devils there is. But she's not safe either way, i'd say one of the other main factors for Yoru to feel the need of fighting Chainsaw Man is because of the Gun devil.

In part 1 we were already shown that the Gun devil was incredibly feared at those moments due to their attacks, since they're War's children then that also want it or not contributed to Yoru's recovery to be able to go search for Chainsaw Man in part 2, but then we got Makima defeating the Gun devil and everything that happened after that with Aki. My best guess is that the Gun devil appeared in hell again but far weakened after everything that happened, sure people still feared him but i don't think nearly as much as they did before the whole fight with Denji since the Gun devil isn't mentioned anymore in part 2 (as far as i am aware, feel free to correct me if wrong.)

Which if Yoru did cared for her children then that makes her recurring to such lengths as to share bodies with Asa have a lot more of sense, she thought that with all of Asa's guilt over almost everything would make her powerful enough to defeat Chainsaw Man plus people remembering War's terrors, so no need to use her children and enjoy the victory.

Yet that didn't happened, she had to use them anyway and that's what happens.

Even she asks this question to herself before doing so: Would i really go that far?

The answer for more heartless that it seems is not too out of character, after all in wars sacrifices are inevitable just think about the many people that die because of them, people that really have nothing to do with the beginning of said war. That's why Yoru went with it because she wouldn't be the War devil without making sacrifices for a victory, even if the sacrifice was using her children as weapons for a fight that probably won't make her happy in the end.

A mother often has to make sacrifices for her children, in war sacrifices has to be made too. In this case? Yoru just had to make the biggest sacrifice a mother could make in a war that she alone decided to continue.

⚠️ Spoilers and my thoughts after reading the spoilers for chapter 1132 under the cut!

I'm growing impatient. I have to admit. Tbf the case is not over yet and we still have one more chapter to go... But I just don't see anything happening at this point.

The case still needs to be solved. Kazuha's dad has made an appearance all of a sudden after who knows how long, and her mom keeps getting referenced. She'll appear and that will be it for this case I think. That will probably be Kazuha's surprise.

And on top of that, I don't even know with Kazuha anymore. Heiji asks her one more time to go to the spot where they're supposed to meet alone, yet she keeps insisting on bringing ran. Her mind is somewhere else completely. She's focused on her surprise for Ran possibly, and she can't see the signs. So yeah, I don't think it's gonna happen here either.

The case is .... I don't care about it tbh.

So yeah, basically I'm just growing more and more concerned that nothing is going to happen yet again. Like- I knew it??? But also ... I was hoping I would be wrong you know? I'm still hoping even! But I don't know... I'm just really disheartened I guess.

And so now, when the resolution comes, I'm also scared to see:

1. How long the hiatus is going to be this time. Because with the way things have been going, it's probably going to be a long one again.

2. What next chapter will be about. Because the AC hints have said that Gosho was drawing a Nagano duo along with shinran, which could say that the next chapter is going to be about them... Possibly making it movie promo for next years movie. And I know it's still a long way to go... But if you add a hiatus in the middle of it, it's totally possible that it's for that. I don't know, I'm just preparing for the worst I guess.

Can you give komahina (toxic yaoi?) headcanons

lemme see here. this is hard bc i dont necessairly have ~komahina~ headcanons i just have headcanons for komaeda and hajime it really has nothing to do with them as a ship;. but uh

ok so here's one. long winded. but i think from what we can gather about hajime he was a bit of a loner child. his parents didnt seem to gaf abt him. so i think he does get attached to people easy. tbh sdr2 was like a miracle scenario in some ways bc there's this guy who has little to no friends (be he never goes out of his way to make them) and then hes stuck with 15 other people his age and he's like i guess i'll talk to them what else can i do....and turns out everyone desires him carnally. tbf he's able to match ppl's freak and he's just good at listening (or pretending to listen) so this makes him popular. so its like ohhh ok we're friends now. hajime is that kind of guy who if he talks to someone once he calls them his friend. but like everyone IS actually his friend. anyways i think if hajime goes a long time without talking to someone he knows he starts to get a little nervous like if its been 1 whole week and he has not even exchanged small talk with like idk mahiru he's like "something is Critically Wrong" so then he'll go find her and be like "hi hows it going". its like disrupting his routine or whatever. i think the time periods for "how long hajime can go without talking to this person" varies depending on the person obviously. like with hiyoko it's like. they don't interact much so if it's been a week and a half he'll be like ohhh ok...maybe i should say something to her....but someone like kazuichi it's like. 3 days hasn't spoken to him once he's like Where Is That Mother Fucker.

this is all to say when it comes to komaeda in a komahina scenario it's devastating bc if he does not see komaeda in a while he gets fucked up abt it in like his anxiety/ptsd spiral his first thought it KOMAEDA IS DEAD. HIS LUCK GOT HIM KILLED. HE KILLED HIMSELF. and then hes like banging on komaeda's cabin door and shit like KOMAEDA. PLEASE.PLEASE. and komaeda is like um hi. flip side: komaeda is also very much like this but with people he's close-close with bc if he does not see hajime in like three days he's like HAJIME IS DEAD. MY LUCK GOT HIM KILLED. HE KILLED HIMSELF. and then he also goes crazy so they have to at least be makin small talk every day to ward off the demons....

as for like. TOXIC YAOI headcanons idk........anything in the chapter 4 area would be bad. i think. i have read so many hate fucking doujins in the chapter 4 time period. while dat all doesnt seem very canon to me (i just dont think hajime be doin all that. nor komaeda really) i see the vision. kamukoma was probably unhealthy on both sides if we want to go there. but like komahina. idk . 1) my brain is fogged up rn so it's hard to think you can ask again later if you desire but 2) really they aren't all that toxic like outside of a killing game environment. komaeda tends to keep to himself and hajime tries to understand people. so like. hajime is very much a "if it sucks hit da bricks" kind of philosopher so if komaeda was being a detriment to his health and he DID have a way out then it's not like he'd stay. hajime does put his foot down when things get too much. (if komaeda was a woman tho she could abuse hajime and he wouldnt gaf #mikanislandmodeending #hiyokoislandmodeending ) but see again komaeda wouldnt be doin all that. i cant see him intentionally hurt hajime post sdr2 canon, at most unintentionally toxic/unhealthy but again i thinnk hajime would in that case try to help him out like couples therapy style or something. Updates

Don't be angry TT0TT I know it's been awhile since I've done an update orz

I'm almost done with The Hunt For Kyoshi's Ch 12. It's not very long (word count wise). I know I know. TT0TT All these months and.... it's not long orz Tbf it's just the initial draft! As I write the next few chapters, I tend to go back to old ones and re-read them like 1000 times. And I'll add and change stuff around. So it might get longer.

Which means I'm not dropping it any time soon. I want to get through..... say.... chapter 15 before I take another break (planned this time!). Which should be the end of the first arc. (debating on how ch 14/15 go. Either 15 will merge with 14, or 15 will be a very short chapter).

This is partially cause....I personally think the cliffhanger for 12 would be very mean/"illegal" if I drop it and then.....god forbid I don't post for another few months. TT0TT Same could be said for Arc 1's final but still jfksdalfja TT0TT

Right now I'm outlining Arc 2 right now so I can jump right into it when the time comes. (also the beginning of Arc 3 too cause I wasn't sure when to cut Arc 2 off, and I found a good stopping point)

Still trucking along with A Thief in the Avatar's Estate. A good portion of CH 11 is almost done. This one is twice the length of Hunt's tbf. I have decently good idea how Arc 2 needs to go down, but I should really outline it out. I need to think about Arc 3 more (I have an idea but I need to figure out how to handle the direction more).

I was going to once I finished typing the final/4th one....but my god....so many damn words and I'm not still not done. TT0TT Once I can get a handle on this one, and possibly split it up, then I can resume with starting with Arc 2. TT0TT (if y'all need a scapegoat, blame Two Knives for side tracking me with...... stuff.... let's call it stuff. TT0TT)

I have the main beats planned for Arc 2. Arc 3 is....still in idea phase. TT0TT

ToK is on hiatus while I get the other's sorted (PR Manager gets top priority because fuck RR and what he did in RoR TT0TT). PR and ToK are for the most part planned out in my head. Fire Sage is.....it's for fun! We're having fun. We'll see where it goes. I still have a few chapters planned but it's up in the air.

These three I'm not thinking of them in terms of "Arcs." (not that I set out for Hunt and Thief to be like that originally, but it made it easier to aim for a goal/take a break at). That's subjected to change as I write but....we'll see jdkslajfkl TT0TT

Aw thank you, it's nice to know that the original characters I created are so loved!

Here's ten bits of information about Lydia Ramirez, some of them y'all probably know from my old blog.

1. I made her as the quintessential  steoreotype of that one employee who's been in the same job for too long and is ready to make it everyone else's problem. She was initially meant to be super cranky and bitchy. Tbf, she's still a little bit cranky but she did gain a bit of heart when she started interacting with PG and Sam more.

2. Lydia had a little brother who she loved dearly. She got the waitressing job at Mamma Mia's to send him to college.

3. Her little brother OD'ed on drugs not long after entering college. Whatever hopes and dreams Lydia had died with him, and she's been pretty much stagnant ever since. She continues to work at Mamma Mia's because she doesn't see a point in trying to get a better job. Mamma Mia's is as good as it's ever going to get.

4. She received the news of her brother's death while she was driving, and she ended up in a minor car accident. She  was pretty much unable to drive after that. (Also the reason why it's Ant who drives PG around.)

5. Lydia has a soft spot for Sam because she reminds her of her little brother.

6. Initially treated PG very coldly. Because deliverypersons have such a high mortality rate, she doesn't see a point in befriending them. Started warming up to her after the four-month mark.

7. It was her that started calling Ant by his nickname. She thinks it's funny to call such a big guy Ant. (She also secretly noticed that Ant was afraid of getting tagged as an illegal immigrant and decided to give him a more "Gotham-y" nickname. She'll never admit it though.)

8. True to her "I don't care anymore" attitude, she's a terrible cook, mostly for the lack of trying. Everything she makes comes out of a can. Fortunately for her organs, Ant is the one who keeps the employees of Mamma Mia's fed.

9. On the (extremely) rare occasions that she actually thinks about the future, Lydia dreams about opening up her own little restaurant, and taking the Mamma Mia's crew with her.

10. Lydia and Ant are the unofficial platonic parents of the Mamma Mia's crew. I'd like to think that spending time with them is good for her.

I have an image of them in my head, just ambling around after shifts, with everyone not yet ready to go home. Maybe they'll play a few boards games. (because Ant will insist that Sam is too young to play cards).

Or maybe someone (PG, probably) will line up empty bottles in an alleyway and insist that they have a shooting contest with a slingshot someone found. Lydia will rarely participate, she's pretty much content to smoke and make sure that someone doesn't take their eye out (or beat Ant TOO hard at Monopoly. He always lowers the rent if someone asks).

She'll watch her friends (because that's what they are, even if she denies it) and for a moment, she thinks that maybe things can still get better.

Chapter 2 of "Even If There Are Monsters" Director's Commentary

Combeferre as the Dr. Seward-figure is kinda funny to me 😭 because I feel like they'd have HATED each other. And is a big reason why I didn't have a Renfield character either; not only would the Renfield side plot taken way too much time, but I also wholeheartedly believe that Combeferre would not have been an asylum director 😔. So a regular doctor he is!

Speaking of Combeferre, that implied One-sided Combeferre/Enjolras tag is a callback to Lucy's rejection of Dr. Seward. Didn't include the scene bc its fanfiction; readers would already be familiar with Combeferre’s personality! No need for any humiliation /lh. But for those curious in the lore of this AU, Combeferre had indeed confessed to Enjolras years ago, only to be kindly rejected. Clearly their friendship has not suffered, but Combeferre will always be a little fond of him. As we can see in the later chapters.

There's a lot of build-up around Enjolras's illness and his relationship with Grantaire, firstly bc yay exR ❤️ and secondly, I've always loved the parallel between Arthur/Lucy and Jonathan/Mina, and though both couples deserve happy endings, A/L was simply just the right person, not enough time trope 😔 and so I wanted to gun for this parallel even further by having exR and marisette go on the same "journey": one side of the couple suffering/missing, while the other is frantic with worry.

Anyone familiar with Dracula would also know I've completely mucked up the vampire lore/logic/timeline of the OG novel too. Well, with Renfield gone and me not wanting to basically regurgitate plot, I figured I'd just create my own vampire lore 😭 They can come in uninvited now apparently! Yay!

Prouvaire as the Van Helsing-figure also means that he is now their equal instead of a High Ranking Professor with Multiple PhDs Etc. Thus, he has a personal stake in the matter from the very beginning, making him hesitate when investigating bc surely his friend couldn't be going through what he thinks he's going through...right? And also makes for a great friendship with Cosette! I love writing the both of them together; they would have had tons of lovely conversations in canon 🫶 too bad they're left to face the Horrors here.

This was a shorter commentary than yesterday's but tbf, this chapter is quite short in generally. Was unsure where to cut it but decided to do so just before the next rising action (sleepwalking outdoors!) Hope you guys enjoyed nevertheless :D
