So....

Imagine if grant and terry were dating around the time he rolled the die another day. And he saw grant shot him. And he had zero context on the situation so he thinks grant will eventually be against him in the future and to make that situation hurt less, he starts distancing himself and they end up breaking up by saying some choice words.

And then when they are kidnapped by willy a second time, and Willy puts the collar on them, he type of now understands how he would die and that it really wasn't up to grant. That the only thing making grant kill him was that it was the most effective way to stop the teens which was an objective given to him by the collar.

And then they are in their cells and grant is apologizing and terry forgives and tells him he knew it would happen because of what he saw in the dice but this context is way more forgivable than what he thought would happen. Then terry brings up that what he saw in the die was what made him break up. Then grants like "Oh"

And while grant feels guilty when trying to be friends with terry because he put a bullet in his head, they do slowly move on and are besties again because they are in-laws now.

this. like, this reminds me so much of the theme of religious trauma in the fic, specifically the scene when they're at pride and lee sees the church and immediately lets go of reader's hand. like, I don't know, this lyric reminds me of that scene in which the people who lee spots at the church are just that -- people. but, due to her own relationship with religion, she sees the group of people outside the church, and that inherently carries so much shame, anxiety and fear for her. like, she feels like the people of the church hold this power that can dictate if she's morally transgressed, but the reality is that they're people just like her and just as human as her. but, due to her trauma, it can be difficult to see them in that way, rather than as these people who'll use their reigning position to cast judgement on her. people who you'll use this idea that they're "saints" as an excuse to judge and talk down to her. but, they're not saints -- no one is. idk if that made sense, but yeah.

hellooo, it may just be that i was rereading pieces when "night shift" by lucy dacus was playing but it just feels like a heartbreakingly appropriate song for rosalie.

it feels like it captures a lot of the feelings that you conjured up with rose and astarion, especially after their... conversation in your latest chapter. i don't know if it fits the vibe of your wip playlist cuz its more somber but damn, some of the lines fit too well so i wanted to share it with you!

anyways, i already left a comment on the new chapter but i feel the need to add that holy fuck it was wonderful to have some honest communication even under those circumstances, especially since you capture dialogue so well. beautiful job, love!

Lucy Dacus Brings New Music to Radio City Music Hall Sing-Along on Thursday Night

Lucy Dacus – Radio City Music Hall – April 24, 2025

“It’s still cool.” That was Lucy Dacus assuring the Thursday night packed-house audience that even though she had thrilled an equally enthusiastic audience at the legendary Radio City Music Hall the night before, she was still fully appreciating the moment to its fullest. As she delivered a powerhouse set filled with songs from her just-released Forever Is a Feeling album and plenty of older favorites, she also reminded her fans that it’s still cool to sing soul-baring songs from your heart, to find big ideas in the small details, to find power in the quiet moments, and, of course, still cool to rock out on the big stage every once in a while.

The set opened with “Hot and Heavy,” Dacus singing, “Being back here makes me hot in the face” and then, as her band hit their stride, gesturing to the backdrop that fell to reveal an elaborate stage design giving the feel of the inside of a salon with digital paintings on the wall and lush furnishings. On newer songs like  “Ankles” and “Limerence,” the band felt almost orchestral with velvety swaths of violin matching the standard guitar and bass. The mix of older stuff like “VBS” and a gorgeous two-violin take on the first “Nonbeliever” of the tour contrasted Dacus’s doubt-filled looking at the past with the more hopeful lovelorn newer material like “Best Guess” with the chorus of “My best guess at the future.”

Midway through the set, a plush couch was brought out for Dacus to play stripped-down versions of “I Don’t Want to Be Funny Anymore” and “Bullseye,” on which she was joined by opener jasmine.4.t. What’s cooler than singing on a chaise longue under a digital night sky? The three-song encore built to a climax with fan-favorite “Night Shift,” which slow-burned to a rocking full-band explosion. Yes, it’s the way almost all Lucy Dacus shows end, but with the audience triumphantly singing along at the top of their lungs, there is little doubt that it’s still very, very cool. —A.
