W h o ⁕ i s ⁕ S a l o m è (quick summary of her story):

⁕ Salomè, the princess of Judaea, falls in love with the prophet John The Baptist (i'll refer to him as 'the prophet' to avoid repeating his name too much) and orders to free him from the prison he was held in (for condemning the marriage of Salome's parents, King Herod and his wife Herodias as unlawful)

⁕ The prophet rejects her, but she assures him she will kiss his mouth sooner or later, no matter what.

⁕ Salome's mother in the meantime convinces her daughter to view the prophet as an evil person that deserves to die (alimenting her fresh feeling from the rejection)

⁕ When Salomè is asked by her stepfather king Herod (who lusts over her) to dance she agrees only if she can asks anything in return.

⁕ Once the dance's over, Salomè requests the decapitated head of John the Baptist on a silver plate.

⁕ To the horror of all the partecipants, she finally kisses the mouth of the prophet consumed by her lustful desires.

⁕ King Herod, sickened and shocked, orders her execution.

I talk a lot about Remus falling in love with Virgil but I had an idea so I'm gonna talk about a concept of Virgil falling for Remus for a sec.

Virgil at first isn't super into Remus when they start dating. Yeah, he's cute, and yeah, they have a bunch of shared interests, but nothing really makes it click. He doesn't have that oh moment for the other man yet. He's not leading Remus on, he's just not at that stage with him yet.

Until he finds out Remus has a little brother.

For the sake of this concept, Remus and Roman are not twins. They're brothers, they have the same birthday, but it's separated by like fifteen years. Remus is an adult, Roman is like seven or something. Their parents care for Roman but Roman's favorite person, the person this little kid idolizes, is his big brother.

Virgil's oh moments comes in a time when he sees the two of them together. Virgil goes with Remus to pick Roman up from school and hang out for a bit because Remus finally decided Virgil should meet Roman — something he's put off because, behind the stupid sex jokes and gross gory knowledge, he's very protective of his family. Roman specifically. And Remus is serious enough about their relationship that Virgil can meet Roman.

Remus knows that he has to fix his parents' car so he has the other two with him for bonding day. Virgil doesn't mind. He sits back and monitors the music and watches as Remus lifts Roman up to see the engine and Remus points out what individual things are and Roman tells him what they do (everything Remus taught him). He watches as Remus ruffles his hair and smiles in such a wholesome way as Roman looks so proud of himself. He sees the pride Remus has for his little brother and the adoration in Roman's eyes for Remus. He then watches as Remus takes a break from the car to sit down and help Roman figure out his math homework, using breathing techniques (since when has Remus known breathing techniques???) when Roman gets frustrated he doesn't get something on the first try.

And that's his oh moment.

It's like he sees him in a whole new light after that. The date ends and they go their separate ways for the night but Virgil is up late thinking about it. Remus is chaotic and loud and very much a gremlin but he's a little sweet too. He's smart (Virgil certainly didn't know he could fix cars) and he's patient (Roman's overwhelmed episode doesn't just last a few seconds) and then at the end of their date, when Roman goes in the house and it's just them and Remus thanks Virgil for being so good to Roman, Virgil realizes how much he cares for his brother. It clicked just how deeply Virgil has a crush on Remus and holy shit he gets to date him.

Sometimes, Zarina wondered why people called it that - why they talked about their lowest moments as if what happened to their body and mind was something violent and unpredictable. It wasn't like that for her at all. It didn't feel like falling, and it certainly didn't feel like she was coming apart.

For her, being at her lowest was a slow, meticulous, detailed process involving each individual part of her system gradually shutting down, until all that was left was nothing. But then again, was that not par for the course for her? It should feel normal and expected, because that was and had always been her default state.

Zarina only existed through the eyes of others, and the only value she brought was what she could do for them; she had no intrinsic value of her own, and she'd never had that.

Her name wasn't even hers, and like everything that Az had given her, it was as much an obligation as it was a gift. Every time she introduced herself to someone, every time she wore his jewellery, it was an acceptance. Of ownership. Of subjugation.

It was a promise that, if he wanted her to jump, she would ask how high.

It was a promise that, if he wanted her to be golden, she would shine brighter than the sun.

R U N N I N G.

She didn't even notice when she started running. By the time she realised that she was, she had no idea where she was even going, only that she needed to get out of there. But where?

She couldn't go back to the commune. And for as much time as she spent outside of it, she didn't actually have anyone in town that she felt comfortable enough running to in the state that she was in. She didn't have anywhere to go. She didn't have anyone to turn to.

She was completely alone. Like she had always been.

Her feet carried her to the edge of town and into the forest, her breathing laboured, her vision blurred, and the weight of the pendant of her necklace pressing harder against her chest for each second that passed. But she kept going, stumbling her way forward through the trees, running over roots and rocks and other uneven terrain; almost falling several times but pushing herself up and somehow continuing forward.

She ran, and ran, and stumbled, and ran, until eventually, she tripped one too many times and couldn't get back up anymore.

Clutching whatever she could grasp on the forest floor, she could feel her whole body shaking, and she tried to stop, trying to choke down the sobs, but that only made it worse. All she could think about was the necklace, his necklace, and how heavy it felt. How the chain felt like it was digging into the skin on her neck. How the pendant lay against her chest and made it hard for her to breathe. How her whole existence, and her relationship with the single most influential person in her life, could be summarised by how she felt about this stupid piece of jewellery. 

Reaching up for it, she grasped the pendant in one hand and felt the metal insets for the stones dig into her skin, causing her to tighten her grip around it until her knuckles whitened. Was she trying to leave marks in the palm of her hand? Did she just want it to hurt more? She wasn't sure anymore.

She just wasn't sure anymore.

She didn't know if she was trying to rip it off of herself, or if she was clinging on to it like it was her last lifeline; like having it around her neck was the only thing in the world that still made sense to her, because at least if she was still keeping her promise to him, at least if she still belonged to him, then she still belonged somewhere at all. At least she still mattered.

She could still be golden. She could still shine brighter than the sun.

W I T H O U T W A R N I N G.

As unceremoniously as the state she was in had started, so it also ended; not because of anything that she did to end it, but because enough time passed that her body simply ran out of energy. She didn't even know when it happened.

At some point, Zarina blinked and found that reality had bled back into her consciousness, that her breathing was normal, and that she was no longer digging her nails into the ground trying to stop herself from crying. Loosening her grip on the necklace, she looked down at her hand in confusion and tried to understand what she was seeing. It took her another couple of seconds to register that the red on her hands was blood from how tightly she had gripped the pendant.

Closing her fingers over her palm, she winced slightly at the pain but pushed herself to her feet, dusting off her dress with her non-injured hand as she slowly made her way back through the forest toward town. Reaching the edge, she stopped for a moment to take a deep breath.

She opened her hand. Closed it again. Let it fall to her side, balled up into a fist, before holding her head high and walking back to the main street as if nothing had happened.

Nothing, except the realisation that she would never be golden again.

When I think about online communities, I imagine a space where people connect and share positivity. But when scrolling through comments, it's hard to ignore that social media is also full of conflict, power plays, and harassment. Seeing people get attacked—often just because of their gender, race, or sexual orientation—I keep asking myself: how can we make these spaces safer?

It’s clear that certain groups, particularly women and transgender individuals, face the brunt of this aggression. Studies consistently show that women and minorities are disproportionately targeted online, often to the point where they feel pressured to censor themselves or even leave these spaces altogether (Chadha et al., 2020; Nadim & Fladmoe, 2019). Does anyone else on the spectrum end up attracting the weirdest (in the not good way) people?

Because this has been my experience! Sometimes, I get tons of attention from men decades older than me. Even when their wife is RIGHT FUCKING THERE. And I mean... they're REALLY interested in me! And a lot of these men... will often look like they have some kind of issue going on. An untreated add*ction/s*vere m*ental i*lness, or they just generally look like they could be a h*bosexual/an old guy looking for a nurse. I only wonder because there will be tons of r*d flags from the interaction alone. And just a... not great vibe.

When it's someone in my age range there will, again, be mountains of red flags. Once I was pursued by someone who admitted to attempting to make c*unterfit bills, using heavy dr*gs, and just getting into arguments with and hanging out on some very weird parts of the internet. And this guy was REALLY into me! Once I gave someone a chance because they seemed really nice at first/compatible, despite them also having lots of r*d flags. Turn out that was all an act... and they let the act fall FAST. It didn't take long at all for them to literally start acting like a toddler with rage issues. And then there are the people who will have strange (in the not good way) interests, like g*ns. Or they'll openly s*xualize women or say very concerning/dangerous shit. The best I ever seem to do is get the attention of some annoying fr*t boy. One that is very loud and rude. And calls women b*tches. Or some attractive young woman with a shit personality who has a creepy bf looking for a third.

And while going on campus in person again... I notice tons of people my age seem to be... intimidated by me? It's weird because I used to get bullied a lot by my peers. Now it's like the room goes cold when I enter it. Like I'm some exotic big cat that escaped from the zoo and is prowling around civilization. Maybe if everyone acts neutral and uninteresting, the cat will leave them alone. I don't get it because I seem to get along fine at work/with the professors. And I mostly keep to myself/don't look at people. When I do talk, I try to keep it friendly. But darn... it does sting a little. For once... can't a person who is a little more functional and sociable engage me? Someone with inoffensive interests? I've seen plenty of other neurodiverse individuals who are insanely shy and don't put themselves out there/literally don't do anything to seem interesting end up with huge friend groups. I loooved this episode!!! It was so good :DD. I mean I am FREAKING OUT and I am FREAKING OUT about the next episode but you know :D xD. Although most of the freaking out from this episode is now freaking out about how this stuff will resolve next episode lol, and the rest of next episode, like from the promo, is separate xD. Well- next episodes! Anyway, my point is, freaked out tonight, gonna freak out next Tuesday night, I'm dying <333. In the words of Ashlyn (from HSMTMTS), "I'm dying, I'm deceased, yes". Yep XD. That's me right now lol. AAAAHHHHHHHH!! Like, have you ever freaked out about characters so hard you almost threw up? Even if there were probably other factors lol. Anyway! About the episode lol. The Tommy and Judd plot was hilarious xD. But also made a lot of sense! I did genuinely see both sides of it. And also it was very stressful xd. It managing to be so funny at the same time was a crime, frankly /hj. And of course TK's storyline literally killed me 😭. I don't know how I'm still alive, I think I'm here as a ghost. Save me xdd. I say TK because really it was Tarlos, and Owen, and Robert, but you know xD. More accurately: The Huntington's Storyline. Now it sounds foreboding xdd. Maybe uncapitalize "storyline" in your head. Perhaps "the" too, depending on the sentence lol. Anyway! I'm dying <3. More accurately, I'm dead <3. It was just SO. GOOD!!! AUGH, I'm still not okay about it xD. As if I expect myself to be lol - it's literally been 3 and a half hours lol. Which, by the way, yes I know my liveblog was delayed, like I said I got distracted watching xD. And I had a lot to say lol. But I did rewatch basically the last half of the episode and liveblog it that way lol, with some pauses and going back's lol. Also I had to do some other stuff during that so yeah xD. Anyway! All great storylines :)). And the calls were cool too! I really hope Wyatt's okay 😭. Frankly, there's a lot of stressed that needs wrapping up next week that I'm nervous about xdd. I just hope it all DOES get wrapped up lol, and ends well xdd. But yeah, it was a super cool episode with VERY dramatic storylines, and a lot of heartwarming moments :'DD. So great 🥰🥰🥰❤️.

Also, I love that Judd put her in charge when he ran in :D. I know it's something that's already established but still 🥰. Anyway, she was great at her job this episode :)). I love her 🥰🥰 :D.

Nancy! She was great this episode :D. Again, besides the fighting xD. I will say I do love all their loyalty :)), just not when it pits them against each other xd. Anyway, Nancy did great inside the burning building, even if Tommy made her and TK leave <3. She was great at her job this week :D. I love her 🥰🥰.

Paul! He was great this episode :). We didn't see him too much, but that doesn't change it. Besides, once again, the fighting xdd. I do love how he was like "nah I already tried to get her to tell me" though XDD. Speaking of, him and Asha are so cute :DD. Like his reaction when she showed up, and how he defended her in the fight 🥰🥰. The faces go for both of those lol. They're just great, I love them :)). Anyway, Paul was great at his job this week :D. I love him :)) 🥰🥰.

Owen! He was great this episode :D. Even though we only saw him at the beginning at the end xD. I'm really glad he got to see him telling TK about the Huntington's :'). It was a great scene <33. And the ENDING o.o. I'm so glad they're coming to the wedding :D, but also o.o. Owen o.o xD. Or, Robert, rather. Like, that's a big request. But from 9-1-1 (the og) we know it's legal in California, and I don't know about Texas, so why would you do it there xD. I mean I see his reasons but still. Anyway, I don't even know what I want to happen specifically with that one, I just hope everything works out okay <333. And I feel horrible for Robert in general :((( :'(. Still, I'm glad they get more brotherly time :'D. Anyway, we didn't actually see Owen work this week, but eh xD. He was great at his job this week :)). We'll count fatherhood and brotherhood for this week xD. I love him :)) 🥰.

Grace! She was great this episode :))! Though she did get dragged into the fighting XD. It was through defending her husband though, so that's a bonus :D. I love them so much 🥰🥰. Anyway, I really hope she doesn't let that lighter (it seems like it would be shorter anyway) feud outlast the original one, but we'll see lol. Frankly I just hope everything works out <3. Anyway, she was great at her job this week :)). I love her ❤️🥰.

Tommy! I think I've already committed to doing everyone separately so here we are xD. I'll probably just talk about each side of it. Anyway! She was great this episode :D. Besides the fighting, of course xdd. But to be fair she did slay in some of it lol. Like, that dinner scene was hilarious XDD. I just died watching it lol. Not as in just now, but yeah xD. Anyway, here's the thing: I do see her side of the argument. But I think she reacted more harshly than Judd. I don't only agree with one of them, but it's not equal agreement. I think Tommy has a fair point on the "saving someone's life" front, especially considering they all do this like, all the time xD. And I also get feeling betrayed by Judd for calling HR on her lol. That felt like it went a bit too far. But honestly, I just hope everything works out :'((. I don't like them fighting, they're my besties your honor <333. Anyway, she was great at her job this episode :). Her and Judd stopping the rest of the crew from fighting was great too :DD. I love them :). Even when they're fighting, they can unite on some things. And just the fact that they were totally on the same page - aGH, it was great. I love her 🥰❤️❤️.

Judd! He was great this episode :)). Once again, besides the fighting xD. And like I said, the dinner scene was HILARIOUS lol. But I will say that I agree more with Judd than Tommy. He was very calm from the beginning, and he even tried to help her get the patient out when she was disobeying orders. Like I said, I think calling HR was a bit far xd, but not like WAYY too far, you know? They definitely need to learn how to sort it out better in the future though, if they want to continue being friends and co captains. Well, separate captains alongside each other, yk. Plus, Judd talking about following orders and rules isn't too out of character. Like, I don't know if I'd say the others were full on out of character, but it was kind of a "you don't have much room to talk" kind of situation xD. But we've known from, what is it, episode 3? That Judd cares about those rules. Maybe not all the time, but most of the time. And I think this came from the same place that did: fear. He was scared for TK in episode 3 (season 1), and he feared for Tommy's life here. I just really hope they can work everything out <33. Also I loved him and Grace supporting each other :D. My babeys <33. Also AAAAAHHHHHHH WYATT 😳😬😭😭😭😭. I'm not okay, he better be okay. I loved Tommy supporting Judd at the end there though, despite everything <333. I think their anger definitely cooled by the end of the episode xD, what with both of them being on the same page for yelling at the teams lol, and her comforting him there. Although I think she'd be there for him no matter what to be fair. Anyway, I just really hope Wyatt's okay 😭. And that he can still become a firefighter :(( - he deserves it, but all of that talk about how good he was at the beginning is a bit suspicious xdd. Carlos! He was great this episode :D. Like I said, I think I'm committed to doing them separately xD. Now, I don't think these last two will be as long as Tommy and Judd, but I just loved their plot so much that they're going last lol <3. Anyway! AAAAAHHHHHHHHH!! Carlos supporting TK this episode was just gold 😭😭. That entire scene of him finding out and the comforting TK was just- aUGH, AMAZING!! And the ending scene too :')). They just slayed in every moment :'D. In case you didn't see from the liveblog or you forgot, they were the ones I was freaking out so much about that I almost threw up xD. Like it wasn't SUPER close lol, but still. It was the first scene with them, I just couldn't <333. I love them so much :')). And AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH I AM SO EXCITED FOR NEXT TIME!!! TK! AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! He was great this episode :D. I loved his storyline SO much. It was just so beautiful 😭😭. And sad, but everything worked out :'D. Seeing Carlos support him was just 😭😭😭❤️❤️. Your honor I love them so much <333. I felt so awful for TK this episode, until the end of course :')). But it was still heartbreaking before that :'((. And even though it seems like the logical choice or like conclusion, I'm just really glad we got to see both Owen telling TK and TK telling Carlos <33. Like I said, or like, what I mean I guess with the logical part, is that it makes sense to have both those scenes, especially when there was only like one other scene with TK's side of it anyway, but I'm still happy about it xD. Anyway, I do have to again mention that kiss 🥰🥰🥰. AAHHH it was so adorable :'DD. Also, I'm so happy that Robert and his family are coming to TK's wedding!!! I was really hoping they would be :))). Even if it means Robert and Owen are gonna have their drama xdd. Not like, fighting, but you know lol. All that stuff xD. Also, speaking of, I liked how TK was like, the calmest of the fighting today lol. He definitely wasn't CALM, but I think he was just so stressed about the Huntington's (😭😭😭 for him though xdd) that he didn't quite have the energy or focus to deal with it. Overall, I really enjoyed this episode! It was so good, and I loved all the plots. The calls were great, as well :D.
